Czech museum to return original Beethoven score to heirs

"A musical manuscript handwritten by Ludwig van Beethoven is being returned to its original owners. Beethoven composed the 6 movements sprinkled in B flat major in 1825 to 26, as part of his work on a series of quartets commissioned by a Russian prince. The manuscript became the possession of one of the richest families in pre World War II Czechoslovakia, the family lost it to the Nazis when they had to flee check as the Vaca to escape the Holocaust. The moravian museum in the Czech city of Bernard has had the original script for more than 80 years. The museum put the score on display for the first time this week in anticipation of handing it over to its rightful owners. The museum said a restitution law and property stolen by German Nazis made the return possible. Curator Simona sin la rova said the whole story reflects the history of Central Europe in the last 200 years. I'm Karen Chammas

Flu season worsens as 44 states report high activity

"It continues to be a bad flu season. The CDC says flu activity rivals the peak of the 2017 2018 flu season and with 44 states reporting high or very high flu activity last week, the dominant flu strain so far is the kind typically associated with higher rates of hospitalizations and deaths, especially in people 65 and over. The CDC estimates that there have been at least 78,000 hospitalizations and 4500 deaths from flu so far this season, and those deaths include at least 14 children. I'm Shelley Adler

Native Hawaiians see a window to the natural and spiritual worlds in the lava flowing from the Mauna Loa

"On this week's AP religion roundup, native Hawaiian sea a window to the natural and spiritual worlds in the lava flowing from the mauna loa volcano. Glowing lava from the world's largest active volcano is a sight to behold. But for some native Hawaiians, mauna loa's eruption has a deeper significance. Native Hawaiians chant, pray to ancestors or honor the moment with dance. They are ways of telling our stories. Well, let akima a cow walks as close as she can to the lava flowing out of the volcano, pouring out gin, tobacco, and other offerings. She says these generations old traditions connect her to her people and the natural forces on their island. Instead of writing a journal, stories and chants captured a moment. For native Hawaiians like ilona alai, the eruption is a chance to connect with the volcano and their ancient faith. I wanted to come and pay my respects to our two two Pelé. Which we lovingly call the goddess of the volcano. And this volcano flow that is going on. And praying that the goddess will take care of what needs to be taken care of. Some see danger in what the volcano may bring. But for many native Hawaiians, it's all part of their connection between Pelé and the natural world. It's out of our control. But we can put that feeling of love and aloha out there. And just be a part of nature. Made of alliance say they want others watching the lava to be mindful of those conducting ceremonies and perhaps appreciate its cultural significance. Try to learn to love it a little bit and be a part of that. I'm Walter ratliff.

"I think people are just so sick of this crushing of American workers While these people just sort of laugh in the face of the pain that people are suffering you know all these you've got all these people in the guise of climate change destroying the economy driving up costs of gas prices energy et cetera making us more dependent on these bad countries And then meanwhile you've got billionaires flying private and buying up beachfront homes It really is showing us that it's more about control than anything regarding the environment It's about control It's about power It's about desperation and it's about money And basically the elite once you stay in charge they see that the financial world order is shifting Our own fault based on the sloppy management of finances by our governments And the things that they've been doing in terms of weaponizing the U.S. dollar and they're jockeying to put themselves in position So all of these climate initiatives are a money grab I mean that funniest thing that was sent to me this week was somebody who was going to a major trade conference And when you get to register for the conference you get to a page and it says well how did you get here Did you fly in and what class did you sit in And you can buy carbon offset credits To make sure that you don't have an environmental impact for coming to this conference And so again it's not about the behaviors It's about the racketeer You can buy your way out of it Out of feeling bad about the climate just for a low low price of 30 bucks or whatever it was I mean it's just so blatant that they're trying to find new ways to capture dollars And it is at the expense of human flourishing It's at

The 9 8 8 hotline set up to provide immediate help for people who are suicidal or experiencing a mental health crisis takes in about 8000 calls a day. But Thursday it was out of service. The Department of Health and Human Services says it worked quickly to try to provide help via text, chats, and alternative phone numbers to those who might need the 9 8 8 service, including veterans, and it says the outage is unacceptable. Medical Crisis Week for Mike Gallagher

"This is like medical crisis week for me. First I go to the dentist earlier in the week. Oh, I got to go to a period. You got two pockets of 6 millimeters. You're going to have to get some kind of surgery. I am not doing that. And then dummy, I go get my regular checkup from my great doctor, and I do have a great doctor. And he starts telling me in the checkup about treating a couple of patients with shingles. He says, if you had looked at my record, he goes, you haven't had a shingles vaccine. I wasn't even sure I knew what shingles is. I guess it's a painful skin thing like chickenpox, and I think it really does hurt. And that's what the doctor told me. He said, you don't want to get shingles. He said, I got to treat a lady just yesterday and she is miserable and so he said, why don't you get a shingles vaccine today? I'm thinking, well, I'm traveling Friday. I'm going to New York for a long weekend, the big Christmas party in Salem, New York, and I'm going to see you a couple shows. I guess I said, are there any side effects? You go, oh, your arm just gets a little sore. Arm gets a little sore. I'm lucky I didn't fall down the steps in defecate. After I got the shot, it hurts. That nurse puts the shot in my arm, I thought, now if I scream like a little kid, will there be concern here in the office? I mean, I know I'm a big baby. I know I'm a bit of a hypochondriac. Then I get home. And I'm minding my own business and I'm putting around the house and I start feeling crappy. Now I don't feel good. I haven't felt good since yesterday. So, and then of course, to add insult to injury, I call my buddy Tom Travis. What are you doing getting a vaccine? What is wrong? What's with you and vaccines? Then it turned into a whole vaccine argument.

Arizona county certifies election after judge's order

"A judge's order has pushed a rural county in Arizona to certify its election results after weeks of resistance. The cochise county board of supervisors voted Thursday to certify their election results following the orders of judge Casey mcginley, who told the supervisors to convene within 90 minutes and certify the results by the end of the day, the same board had to abandon plans to hand count every ballot. Supervisors Peggy Judd and Tom Crosby argued they weren't satisfied that the ballot counting machines had been properly certified, while state and federal officials said they were. The ruling comes after lawsuits by Arizona's Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, a local voter and a group of retirees. Hobbes warned that she might have had to certify statewide results without the numbers from cochise county, whose 47,000 votes went overwhelmingly to Republicans, supervisor and English, the lone Democrat, urged the judge not to wait, saying she thought Crosby was trying to stage a quote SmackDown between the Secretary of State and election deniers. US hiring stayed strong in November as employers add 263,000 jobs

"The jobs market stayed strong last month, despite high inflation and an economy that's growing slowly. Employers added 263,000 jobs last month, down slightly from October, but all told it represents a substantial jump, given the Federal Reserve's aggressive interest rate hikes as it tries to stem decades high inflation. As employers keep hiring, paychecks keep going up, and the combination of more jobs and higher wages could complicate the fed's inflation fight. Job openings exceed available workers by about 4 million that is about 1.7 job openings for every person looking for work. Chair Jerome Powell told the brookings institution this week a robust jobs market is a key inflation driver. He'd like to see slower job growth and more modest wage gains. Sagar Meghani, Washington

A Meditation on Matthew 9:27-31 for Friday of the 1st Week of Advent

"For the next few moments, surrender all the cares and concerns of the stay to the lord. Say slowly, from your heart, Jesus. I trust in you. You. Take over. Become aware that he is with you. Looking upon you with love. Wanting to be heard, deep within your heart. A reading from the holy gospel, according to Matthew, chapter 9 versus 27 through 31. As Jesus went on his way, two blind men followed him shouting. Take pity on a son of David. And when Jesus reached the house, the blind men came up with him, and he said to them, do you believe I can do this? They said, sir? We do. Then he touched their eyes, saying your faith deserves it, so let this be done for you. And their sight returned. Then Jesus sternly warned them, take care that no one learns about this. But when they had gone, they talked about him all over the countryside. What word made this passage come alive for you? What did you sense the lord saying to you?

Patriot Freedom Project Is Uplifting the Jan. 6 Detainee's Families

"I am thrilled right now to be joined by someone who is doing the work that too few people have taken on in a time where we have people in need. Her name is Cynthia Hughes. She runs the patriot freedom project and they are raising money to help the people in the gulag and all of those who have been attacked by the abuse of power by our deep state. And I want to welcome you to the show Cynthia. Thank you for having me, James. Nice to see you. And I greatly appreciate the fact you've got a fundraiser tonight that I'm going to. And I can't wait to see you there. But you're taking time out of that to talk to us. And I wanted to make sure that everybody who listens to America first radio can hear the need and also hopefully reach in their pockets and donate some money to help. My wife Samantha says this all the time. Where is the money to take care of our side like the left has for their team? If anybody, you get a bunch of rioters and looters, you got the vice president and future vice president of the United States begging for money for them. Where's the people doing that on our side? And she's sitting right there on the other side of this conversation. So tell us about what you need to help these people. So, you know, I've had the honor of meeting a ton of the families that are affected by January 6th. I've met mothers. I've met wives. This week I have several of the families here in D.C. that are coming to the fundraiser tonight and I was just with them yesterday with all of their babies and let me tell you Jim. It's very, very it gives you a lot of perspective. Makes you realize that whatever problems you think you have, they're small in comparison. When you hear a three year old daughter on the phone with her daddy, asking him when is he coming home? The community that I've created here for these families and seeing the interaction with these women is so humbling it just brings joy to my heart. It's amazing. You're going to see it for yourself tonight. The way they help each other, the way they comfort each other, who's helping with what child, who's changing a diaper, who's making a bottle, they were cooking dinner together, hugging each other, but listening to the children of these men that are behind bars. It's heartbreaking. It's absolutely heartbreaking. And the country needs to know what is going on besides the talk about what's going on at the D.C. jail. It is so much bigger than the 18 men that are left in the D.C. jail. We have multiple J 6 detainees spread around this country in different gels, and we have a lot of collateral damage. And that is the wife and the children.

Jim Hanson: Elon Musk Is Giving a Masterclass on Disruptive Change

"I want to talk about somebody who is doing positive disruption right now. I want to talk about my man Elon Musk. All right, and I'm not a fanboy in the pathetic or anything Elon does is brilliant and I thoughtfully will do whatever it is because you're not putting a chip in my head, brother, okay? That ain't happening. But the rest of the stuff he's been doing over the past couple of months has been a master class on disruptive change. There's a thing that in the military, fighter pilots called the ooda loop, observe orient decide act, and what it means is if you're doing the Top Gun thing and you're flying behind the guy and you can observe orient your plane, decide what to do and act faster than the other guy you can kill him. And Elon has been slaying people. He's been Snoopy killing the red dragon or the red baron. Bottom line, everything he's done that people have immediately gone, oh my God, Elon's gonna destroy Twitter. He bought it to destroy it because he's just a crazy billionaire. He's gonna fire everyone and there'll be no one left to Twitter to work. Well, guess what? Every time they say he's gonna destroy Twitter and he's gonna break it, what happens about a week later, everybody's going, wow. That went kind of well. Twitter, how many people did they need to go ahead and operate the bird app? Apparently not 7500 woke losers like they had. It seems like they may be needed a couple thousand. So the 5000 people that Elon chased out of that building, what were they doing? I think we all know what they were doing. They were shutting us down. And guess what? Good riddance to woke rubbish. They're gone. The bird app still works. They're making it better, right? Every day. He's coming out with new things that are going to happen. And every day, the usual suspects like, oh my God. They took the ban off, saying crazy things about COVID. Yeah, you know why? Because the government propaganda on COVID was the actual disinformation and all the people that the woke tools banned for telling the truth have now been proven right. So of course that ban is coming off on COVID misinformation because it's not coming from the Twitter users. People have a right to question authority

The Senate passed a bill binding rail companies and workers to a proposed settlement reached in September, some unions involved then rejected the deal, leading to a potential strike next week, which the Biden administration and business leaders warrant could lead to massive job losses and pain around the holidays. "Tell us about Alec. Well, Alec is America's largest nonpartisan and keyword voluntary membership organization of state legislators. We've been doing it for nearly 50 years. We'll celebrate that anniversary next October, but everything we do is centered around our three core principles, limited government, free markets, and federalism, and we've got hundreds and hundreds of legislators from around the country in D.C.. This week, not only sharing best practices from around the states, but they're also dedicated on restoring that balance of power of government back to the states. I think all of us would agree that power has become too concentrated in Washington to concentrated in that fourth branch of government, the bureaucracy, the administrative state. And so we're all here. We're fired up. We've got a lot of newly elected legislators in town.

Changes to laws regarding public urination and defecation, for example, are things that may not happen often, but also aren't things they want to see taken off the books. "First step of them announcing additional supplies a few weeks ago was step one, I'm very hopeful that you and I can have this conversation about step two sometime in the near future. Now, you could make a case that the oil market is perhaps more focused on what OPEC members will do after tomorrow's decision than that may ultimately hinge on the outcome of President Biden's trip to Saudi Arabia next month. He's expected to be looking for a little bit of help in bringing energy prices down. Rich. All right, China is going to be offering oil refineries subsidies of international crude prices surge above a 130 bucks a barrel, the move coming as an effort to lower economic costs and to ease consumer burden. It will also help to ensure the safe and stable supply of oil products or that according to a statement from China's ministry of finance, oil, of course, really, really having a strong year. In fact, we've had 9 quarters now of price increases stricter virus lockdowns in China lightly capping further gains, however, easing restrictions in China could turbocharge prices once again. We're trading one O 9 65 now, WTI and the electronic session, let's cross to Hong Kong, Brian Curtis looking at markets. What are you seeing today? Well, I think there's a very interesting debate in the market right now about what's more important of the next two big data points coming out. The fed's preferred inflation gauge is the PCE deflator versus initial jobless claims because you heard Jay Powell talking today about how there could be some pain ahead. And we had Vince cigarette on earlier and he was talking about the tail wagging the dog. And it really goes to this point that, you know, Powell says there will be pain ahead. He's acknowledging what the market has been saying with a lot of force for some time. I mean, after all, we're in a bear market here. Equity prices down more than 20% and it's been a really rough period with a lot of volatility. And so everybody's trying to figure out what comes next. So that's why the PCE deflator may be less important than the jobless claims data because we sort of know a lot of, you know, from the CPI data, what's going to be in the PCE deflator. And then with initial jobless names, if you start getting some bad jobs numbers, will that take the fed off of its point? Well, they start talking a little less aggressive and, you know, they're still going to raise interest rates, but maybe not at the 75 basis point clip. Anyway, yeah, in terms of the futures, it's just like the way we finished on Wall Street, not all that much in it. Nikkei future is just ever so slightly down. S&P E minis down a little FTSE China a 50s down a tenth of 1%. Australian future is flat. And yes, we had a very strong dollar. That's not good for trading in Asia. know by you know he's quite the rally here Although the rally around that guy Now our enemies of rallied around Biden actually whether it's the Taliban the islamo Nazis and Tehran Whether it's the communist butchers in Beijing whether it's the inbred or not in North Korea Or whether it's the fascistic stalinist Putin in Moscow They're all rallying around Biden aren't they Yeah I had a greater set of financial sanctions package than has ever been done for any economy in the world It wouldn't have happened without his action I just outlined for you at the top which I think it's important to note the crippling impact She didn't ask you what you're doing Chance you if you're doing enough Now let me just say this to you ladies and gentlemen the crippling impact on the Russian economy is very important But it's not saving a single life in Ukraine And the imposition of various penalties on various oligarchs very important it's not saving a single person in Ukraine Not one They need weapons Weapons Go ahead They are where they are at this point in time I think we all have seen reports and we have confirmed many of them that they did not expect it to take this long They did not expect they either expected to take this long has nothing to do with your financial and economic penalties which I support And it's too bad you didn't lead on that either I don't know should we buy Russian oil I can't make up my mind Europe's not buying it The EU said we're not I don't know Then Congress is going to pass a statute and say it And then suddenly Biden says please hold off Democrats I'm going to I'm going to say no more Russian imports I'll do this But he won't stand up and support American Production This is the insanity that is Joe Biden Go ahead To not make as much progress as they have made The steps we are taking are making it more difficult for president Putin to build an augment his military to get access to the technology that he needs to help us go to the Taliban and borrow some of the $85 billion of American equipment Or maybe I'll go to the Iranians and say you know that nuke the nukes you're working on and the U.S. is going to assist you with effectively Maybe we'll need some of those too You never know How about building up our military meathead Yes How about that It has taken steps to cripple the economy that there's no question regardless of what Kremlin spokespeople say It has had a dramatic impact on the economy There's no question it has Are you aware that they're bombing the hell out of cities in Ukraine man Are you aware of this They wear that 10% of the population Ukraine is on the run Are you aware of this Are you aware that tens of thousands have been murdered We don't have the casualty count right now That these cities are being leveled Are you aware of any of this So whether the Russians are doing it slowly or not or whether they're doing it with tanks or something they're doing it Will they be in trouble in two weeks One can hope Maybe they will But how many will die by then Have you noticed and I mean this the cold bloodedness that passai shows in this administration here at home we have a murder rate that goes through the roof And Biden starts talking about our course I support complete didn't support the cops to summers ago Finale really supports them How exactly As he told us Democrat mayors and Democrat governors take kicking the gear No Well what is he doing Is he drawing the nation's attention to it No Murder rates through the roof You see.

Who went to this community center looking for these tacos and of course i'm walking like whatever and they stopped me and they're like. Oh you need a membership. You need to check in. And i'm like oh i'm just i'm just here for these tacos and i'm like showing them on instagram. And they're like okay. Hold on and so i'm waiting. They have to like bring someone else to kind of. Walk me to the back. It's not really a restaurant. They're just using like the kitchen at this community center so they walk me back there. They have me. Wade's and apparently that week. They weren't going to be in the kitchen. They were doing pop up shops like all over the all over the city so i was like okay so i look at their instagram. And i see that. They announced it on their instagram stories. That they're popping up all over the place like all right today. didn't work. Today was a fail. So i'll go another day. I'll go like. I don't know wednesday thursday to go see if i can catch them somewhere so sure enough. I try to do that after work. I drive across town to go find these taco to define this taco stand. And i'm walking around in this parking lot. I'm like they stay. They're saying they're right here between these times and i can't find them and so it's hot and i'm getting frustrated and i'm like okay. That's another al. I'm feeling so desperate now chasing these tackles like oh. I'm so pregnant right now. this is so annoying. finally. I think it was like two weeks later. I was like i'm gonna give it another shot. I went back to this like community center. And they're looking at me crazy like this lady really wants to these tacos and i finally finally able to like pick some up and try them. And i'm like in my head on my. They're probably not gonna be good anymore. Because have over hyped on my thumb but they were in a credible there were so good their culture bosco tacos. Are they in the center or no. You have to go into the center to get him. They are they actually have a back door. You can order them online. You go to the back and you pick them up there but Seem real yeah. I felt so desperate. I was at community center. All of may every tuesday and thursday. And it may i never saw that taco shop never told me and i'm like a my how how did i would have been my senate basketball practice there all the time i have been i would have been there eating those tacos all the time And i don't understand how. I missed that not like a restaurant and i really a shop. You're just using their kitchen like there's no sign or anything but if you go to their website they give you instructions on like where to park door to ground club in l. a. Though hearts again they were worth they were really worth and they're so close to us school to basketball. Yeah yeah like so basco your neighborhood. So saturday. we were watching The basketball game. The phoenix suns versus the clippers. And we were just you know just hanging out at home and it. It got pretty late because afterwards we were watching this boxing match. And then my husband and i look at each other and we're like sounds good in and out burger which just go in and out burger where else pretty lace pratt like. Eleven thirty saturday night and so we leave and as soon as we pulled out of our garage our entire national hood was packed with people like it looked like straight out of a movie scene. Like not even exaggerating. We couldn't really drive like we had to slowly move so to make sure that we wouldn't hit anyone and we're like what is happening right now and people are partying drinking like they're yelling and you. We couldn't really hear anything from our house because our neighborhood has always playing music so we just heard music and we thought okay. Whatever like somebody's having a party but no it was like streets just streets full of people and so mad at myself because i was just kind of like shocked and in all like what this was just right outside our house and we had no idea and i was so mad that i didn't record but we left and we almost had to pull over to the and be like. Did we just see like what is happening. What are they celebrating. What are they partying. Like what what's going on so we went in and now and it actually took forever because It along the line was long and we waited forever to get our food. We drove back and it was already kind of clearing up. So i wasn't able to take any pictures or video but then at the end we were like. That's kind of messed up like we don't get invited literally. Seemed like every single person was out there all our neighbors and we had no idea. Nobody said anything i flyer. Maybe they stuck it in the door and some and somehow it got lost. Maybe i hope so. But we didn't see anything like that's i don't know we also left out like they want clean. We actually start kids picking up some the kids to like hey We we like to party can invite us party party right now. Well i mean. I don't have to drink but i can go. Go out there and see what's going on but we were just. I was just shocked with the amount of people that were out there. It was flooded. It looks straight up like a movie scene. Eleven thirty nine. You went on an nfl. All your stories all food could be pregnant because they were filming hip hop video. Have they done that in your neighbor before. They've done that before but no this was in a video part because they had table set up on the on the street and everything joe's running around. We just saw that yesterday too. They had like they like recruited. That is crazy. That little chihuahua gang that likes to show our front yard. Every now and then recruited like a little poodle. Yesterday i made a friend fish. He had the same name as a horrible exited. Bothered me every time. He said the name for time i said the name she ate a banana sideways will hold it. Horizontally peel it and take bites from the side way that works so hard it would collapse if it makes it less. Gross that way the dude. Kiss me with open mouth with relaxed. Lips not meant as a make out kissed just opened his mouth. Smashed his face into mind and pulled back. That's how shallow effort man you gotta dump that person. He didn't use pillowcases. "Heatwave was starting a week ago, Utah's governor added this plea. Let's listen. We need more rain, and we need it. Now We need some divine intervention. That's why I'm asking Utahns of all faiths to join me in a weekend of prayer. This is not unusual in Utah, which is largely Mormon state. But where else are you having these water concerns? The entirety of the West going from Colorado. Once you cross the continental divide in Colorado, north and west of their south and west of there Is mired in the worst drought that we have seen since at least 2000, and it's in the context of a larger, longer lasting drought. That's the second worse than about 1200 years. So what we're seeing is more and more desperation on the part of farmers. Lake Mead just hit its lowest level since it was constructed and we expect that to trigger the first ever declaration of water shortage. On the Colorado River, and that will change the water allocations given to several states. Hydro electric dams are already producing lower amounts of electricity than they otherwise would And the problem that we're seeing now is the drought and the heat is a self reinforcing cycle. Once you get a hot air mass over there more of the solar energy it gets to go into heating the air. Rather than evaporating moisture from soils because there just isn't that much moisture there so they have record dry moisture levels, which is bad news for wildfire season and so they have dwindling reservoirs and rivers. Definitely a very serious drought in the very serious situation..

They say that argument is wrong, constitutionally and dangerous as a matter of practice. House managers argue that the Senate does indeed have the authority to try Trump. I sold everything. There's cash in the account. I don't know what I want to do. I think I'm just gonna bullet. You see, you started to earn too much you and your compatriots on reddit. You started to earn too much, and you were earning it from the elites who thought they were in control of a game. This is you're saying it was a big transfer wealth and That's not the game. Those of the three ways that you had Of buying stock going long going short, however, you wanted to do it. So he sold everything today and got out after realizing that he had topped everything he wasn't gonna be able to do because they were now. Limiting his upward expansion. Mobility got to take a break.
