Aces at area of high pressure tracks across the state right behind that, though we are looking at winds primarily out of the south, that's going to help warm us up through the day today. Nothing too breezy, but we should see that southerly breeze that's gonna help warmer temperatures into the low sixties so a little bit better than the past few days. We'll see a lot of sunshine 35 degrees by eight by noon. We should be at 52 low sixties by five o'clock, and that's where a lot of us will settle into for the day today, Low sixties here in Indianapolis at 63 60 He also in Greencastle, 62. Bloomington this evening. Clear skies pretty much widespread, quiet evenings going to get chilly fast, though. Temperatures upper forties by midnight tonight with our overnight lows in the mid forties overnight and then early tomorrow, we'll start off with a lot of sunshine once again, but since we'll still see that southerly wind and help boost their temperatures into the low seventies, so even warmer during the day on Tuesday 17 and a 69 in South Bend 76. Wednesday afternoon 82 TERROR Hodes 79 in Greencastle, 75. Degrees and Indianapolis 76 up in Kokomo. Our future cast model through about noon Come Wednesday does show another quiet day during the day should see a lot of sunshine, not necessarily seeing any major hiccups come mid week, so If you have opportunities to head outside and do chores this week is going to be a good week. To do that. Maybe you have to throw the Halloween decorations up. This week's gonna be fantastic. Pretty much every day to possibly do that. Better of the days will be the warmer ones here Tuesday, starting that nice, warm warming trend, But we're going to continue to see a lot of drive time even well into Thursday. This is at about nine o'clock. You notice we haven't seen a whole lot of activity in our future cast model. And then by the later half of the week, we might see a slight hiccup in temperatures Thursday but still sitting fairly comfortably in the upper sixties with a mostly sunny skies. Maybe a hot is 118 possibly even 120, In fact, in some areas were talking all time record breaking heat. The danger is that during those overnight hours on Saturday and Sunday, the temperatures are going to come down enough. And so in the overnight hours, people our bodies are allowed to be stressed from the heat. And when we don't have the opportunity to D stress from the heat, it's been in the you know. There are bodies get overwhelmed, and it's well. We're susceptible to heat strokes. And tio. You know, all of the dangers outcome with overheating in our bodies is because normally the temperatures drop enough to where our bodies have at least a few hours of cooling. But when it stays warm at night, and people can't be stress from the heat. That's when we get into the danger zone. I know the winds are going to kick up a CZ well, so we could have a Santa Ana event. It will mimic a Santa Ana wind event and that the winds are going to be coming from the east explained her. Why, When we get a heat wave like this, it could be dangerous for wildfires. Because I don't think a whole lot of people make that connection. Oh, yes. So generals what happened, especially in areas Where brush the grasses, trees are dry. Because of lack of rain, because what we have to remember is we live in a desert chaperone environment. It tends to get very dry. It starts to heat up the fuels. And what what I mean about the fuels is the grass is the grass is already dry and brittle. When they're exposed to a lot of heat. It heats up, just like you know you when your car is parked outside what happens when you touch the hard you go. Ouch! It's hot, right? That is likely to catch fire quicker than something that is cool. And so that's exactly what happens when we warm up that when the temperatures get really hot and the grass And the brush is already dry. You've ordered a very early hour so wondering when the heat wave is going to end and then Eileen, I get up this morning to come into work. We're brighten early and there's there's ash all over my vehicle. I mean, the smoky conditions are unbelievable. Yeah, that fire YOLO County Napa County. Excuse me, really exploding overnight with a gusty wind that picked up But yeah, first, Let's deal with the heat. The good news. The worst of the heat is behind us. Today. They will still make it above 100, but we're talking. You know, the 102 may be one of three range, which is nothing compared to what we saw over the weekend when the peak of the heat was we saw two days in a row above 110 degrees. That doesn't happen very often. In Sacramento, we had 112 On Sunday and that is the hottest we have ever been in the month of August are all time record 114. So we were really close to that, in sacrament on those records called back to the 18 hundreds. Today we bring it down. And tomorrow it looks like the heat breaks some more because we're gonna get a better Delta breeze going tonight. That are onshore breeze. And that means tomorrow will probably stay below 100 so that officially would break the heat wave the longest stretch we've ever had above 111 days. So we'll make it eight days for this heat wave, but certainly notable with three days hitting records for daily records and again at 1 12 on Sunday was really something well, Wind. Yeah, that that wind picking up it is concerning for later today because it's going to eat some before the fires that are burning that westerly wind. Even though it's coming on shore. It just still doesn't have enough humidity to do a lot. It's going to push around the flames, so they're gonna have certainly fire fight on their hands. Once that wind goes again this afternoon and into this evening, But it will help to cool off a leaf. It seems we're used to that dry heat, but But this whole system came in with a lot of humidity. It just felt stifling. Yeah, Two things combined. We got the heat coming from the desert Southwest. But we had the moisture coming up from the south. Of course, it's tropical. It's hurricane season in the eastern Pacific. So off of Baja, there have been hurricanes and when they break apart, the moisture has got to go somewhere will have got, you know, entrenched in the flow just got right up into California. So we had that mixed bag of Heat, but then also the tropical moisture bringing in a little bit of rain, but also a lot of lightning, which is why we're seeing so many fires across the state right now, especially in Northern California. Alright, Allene. Thanks a lot. You know what's really in the morning. We do appreciate you joining us with a weather update.
