This feels like championship atmosphere. After a busy off season, expectations are high. I feel like we had a lot of free agent signings and minister stronger team. We're going to go all the way to the World Series and win it. Long lines wrapped around T mobile park hours before the first pitch. Mariners are big in my family. I mean, he starts his T ball season on Saturday. So here it is are just big to us. Hydra come on. Victory hall right across from T mobile park has just opened up. It's the result of the Seattle Mariners investing into Seattle's Soto neighborhood. Chris Daniels reports. The M's are opening victory hall that is an almost 10,000 foot event space across the street from T mobile park. These are long-term leases that have been taken out by the Mariners. The M say they want to make this a 365 day a year area and frankly increase foot traffic down here in Soto, which has had its share of issues during the pandemic. Fred Rivera is the executive vice president and general counsel for the apps. I've heard the Seattle police chief say foot traffic go is also improves public safety because there's more people out and about this is obviously been a neighborhood that has had its challenges. Does that factor into what the Mariners are doing here? I think that having a vibrant community with people enjoying what the community has to offer creates just a better experience all the way around. And that's what Seattle and our mayor is trying to do. And that's what we're trying to do here in Soto as well. So yes, I think it will improve the community experience. Of course, hat back and steelheads Allie opened here in Soto last year, and of course winning will bring people back to Soto. This was the stadium to be at between 2002 1002 with huge crowds and when you consider what they've done outside and what they've done here now internally in the building with the new diamond club and the press club you can make the argument. They saw over 220 patients. Making sure that we have capacity to treat those that come see us and make sure that we prioritize the sickest and the youngest. Other hospitals like Seattle children's put a ten outside of their emergency room and in a statement to como, they said that the tent is a way to deal with a high volume of patients they're seeing. RSV has been around for many years, but doctors say that it's hitting hospitals hard because of a lack of exposure during the pandemic. The numbers of cases has gone up, not just in the very young children who are the most vulnerable, but also in the rest of the population. And so the numbers of outbreaks are just going higher and higher and higher. Health officials say while their hospitals are being overwhelmed with patients, they don't want this to discourage families to seek care. Monster Storm To Bring Several Feet of Snow and Tornadoes This Weekend
"On out West a monster storm. I mean, they're saying historic proportions that threatening millions of folks with several feet of snow and tornadoes this weekend. Yeah, massive, slow moving storm, they say Expected to dump snow in the Rockies and Western Plains states starting today. Actually, forecasters in Denver could be in for one of the largest no storms in the city's history. In some areas, they're saying snowfall could reach three fate. Yikes on the eastern side of the storm, and people in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, all being warned to watch out for tornadoes and large hail and damaging winds. And at some point all of this mess, Maybe not that intense will reach our area as well.
