"WBZ Boston's news radio. All right, we have one, um, call hanging over here, which, again? I think this is a really interesting topic and has been great response to it. There's a couple of other topics we're going to. We hope to get to tonight. But in the meantime, I go to Dan in San Francisco Daniel at the second caller from San Francisco tonight, believe it or not, Oh, I feel lucky. Well, anyway, I just wanted to say I'm new to this story. I don't know much about it. But I agree with you, 100%. We've got to find out everything we can About this guy and my take on it is You know what motivated him, right? What? What was he looking at? Maybe online was yon racist websites was the on anti Semitic websites. But where did this Where did this come from? Out, And I wanted to ask. Was there any kind of a manifesto or something that that he came up with before he went on his rampage? No, not as far as we know at this time again. This happened Saturday afternoon here in Boston. So it would have been kind of midday Your time in San Francisco. Uh and I don't know that this story I'm told is getting a little bit of national play, because what's interesting is that the assailant is a young white guy. Married just about a year ago. Who, um, who is as I understand. It reportedly has a doctorate and was going to be opening up a physical therapy therapy office. So he had everything to live for. And he stole a truck, a plumbing truck. Winthrop is a town that's just a little out city a little outside or that it's actually a town. Excuse me outside of Boston is actually part of Suffolk County, which is The geographic area that includes Boston for communities outside of Boston. Uh, truck was speeding down the street. It was stolen. 2 33 o'clock in the afternoon. On Saturday Beautiful day here in Boston sideswiped a parked car lost control of the truck smashed into a house apparently destroyed that house. Jumped out of the truck barefooted. Two guns, hopped over a fence and went down the street and shot and killed two. Um Black Americans won an Air Force veteran, a woman whose name is Ramona Cooper. And a retired Massachusetts state police trooper David Green. And then the shooter was taken out by a win through police Sergeant who obviously Responded to the scene and and probably saved a lot of lives by taking this guy out. Normally investigations like this stay pretty under the radar because the trials ongoing or a trial is scheduled. There's no trial for this guy. He's dead. I want it all out, and I want to see everything. There was And I want to find out if if he was involved with other people if he had disclosed his thoughts or his ideas, and if he had why those people hadn't at least tipped off authorities and said, Hey, we got a guy who's saying some really crazy stuff. Agreed. Agreed, and I think we're going to know a lot more about it over the next few days, and I'm just thinking he snapped, but Weren't there Some writings I thought I saw reference in the news to the anti Semitic and racist writings that he had. Was it like, online or on Facebook? According according to and again these stories, um I've been a reporter before. As a talk show host. These stories can't tend to change a little bit over over the first, the first, um Draft sometimes gets changed, but the district attorney Is quoted as saying that this um perp had some very disturbing beliefs, white supremacist beliefs regarding members of our Jewish population, as well as black individuals and two people lost their lives. Um She went on to say that She had gotten some insight into his thinking. Into his thinking from items he had written in his notebook as recently as within the last week or so, quote if we believe the dates that he's written in his notebook Um the other thing I am certain of Is that so? But let me just let me just finish this about. She went on to say, quote. The other thing I am certain of is there are living people who interacted with this individual who are alive. And none of those people were black and the only two people that are dead. As a result of this are two black people he encountered. So he I I think that she believes that he picked out Um, his victims he could have. If he was just killing people. He walked past some potential victims who were white. Uh, well, the one thing I'll leave you with. I think we we again. We've got to find out what influenced him to do this and you know my guess at this point, and it's pure speculation. That I think he was probably looking at things from the proud boys or the oath keepers or neo Nazi groups. And this is what influenced him. And for those who say that these groups are harmless, and it's just ideas No. This is what happens when people are influenced by those ideas, and they decided to take action. And you know, we we've got. We've got to do something about it provides country. You know, we should know. Um We have no proof of that is yet and that's why I'm suggesting that the district attorney, a lot of these cases occur, and we're appalled by them. And then two days later, there's another horrific case, and we lose focus on the original case. And then we we forget about it. Uh, I don't know what he was influenced by. I don't know. Who he might have. I'm more concerned about who he might have. Um, not not conspired with because there's no suggestion that he did this in conjunction with anyone, but I am concerned if he had expressed this, um You know, vitriol, this hatred that apparently he acted upon to other people, and they did not tip off authorities. I mean, what responsibility do they have? I mean, we have in this country. If you see something, say something, and then Conversely, you have people on the other side to say, Don't snitch. Well, if someone could have snitched here and said to his police department, Hey, you may want to go check this guy out. Um, maybe a couple of lives might have been saved again that speculation as well. And I appreciate your first time calling to the show. Dozens Turned Away From Danvers Mass Vaccination Site, Northeast of Boston
