"Is doubling down on his plan to start the school year with at least some in person learning W. CBS reporter Rich Lamb with that story. The mayor defends the idea of opening the school buildings, noting New York has the lowest infection rate in America, a huge majority of parents as he put it, begging us to give kids help and support. And all the tools to create a better and safer environment. Now we could say we have all that stuff. But let's take the easy way out and just shut everything down the Blasio underlining his determination this way. I'm not going to do that, because people raise doubts. In MegaMerger, Teladoc Buys Diabetes Coaching Company for $18 Billion

"Yesterday we told you about one industry that appears to be forever changed by the pandemic, the oil and gas business. Well, here's another healthcare. These days make a doctor's appointment and it says likely to occur on your screen as in an office maybe even more likely virtual appointments were on the rise before covid nineteen but the pandemic put this trend on steroids telehealth use tripled as the virus spread around the globe according to a healthcare research firm called. Robo Global. Half of adults age twenty five and older have virtually visited a healthcare provider over the last few painful months. The firm says music to the ears of anyone who runs a telehealth company more than half of those patients were brand new to telemedicine can handle one more statistic well, nine out of ten of those patients told Robo. that. They'd be happy to see Dr Virtual again most likely that include you. So why am I telling you all this or because at least two companies are making big hey from this socially distanced phenomenon last week telemedicine leader Tele Doc announced it's buying Digital Health, coaching? Company. Forget this eighteen and a half billion dollars. It's rare to see those kinds of numbers. Even in Silicon Valley acquisitions, although there are many privately owned telemedicine companies, Tele Doc which was founded in two thousand and two is the only publicly traded one because of the pandemic business is booming in early March, the company was conducting about ten thousand remote medical appointments a day just a month. Later, that number had doubled. The company told The Wall Street Journal. Tele Doc is purchasing a company called the von. Go using Technology Levin go remotely monitors and coaches patients with chronic illnesses. CEO Glenn Tolman founded the company after his young son was diagnosed with type one diabetes. The Condition Levin go is best known for the publicly traded company later expanded to help care for people suffering from chronic problems like high blood, pressure, anxiety, and depression. According to CNBC Tele Doc had long planned to add services for remotely managing chronic conditions and La. bongos leaders had been thinking about moving into telehealth. The two companies quote were either on a path of convergence or collision Tele Doc CEO Jason Gora Vic told. CNBC. Industry publication healthcare dive calls the do the country's first digital health megamerger and by far the largest consider this Google is working on an acquisition a fitbit for what now looks like a meager two billion dollars the trade publication points out. The TALLADEGA deal is set to close by the end of the year proved it'll create an entity worth thirty, seven, billion dollars expected revenues in its first year with top a billion dollars or almost double the two companies sales this year sound promising well, not so fast Wall Street dinged both company's stock prices saying the price was inflated and that telehealth might be an covert bubble. which wants the pandemic finally, Wayne's could pop furthermore there are plenty of challenges on both sides. Tell dot faces a host of telemedicine rivals such as privately held doctor on demand but perhaps the bigger issue is that the eye-popping size of the deal could create copycats other big healthcare companies both virtual and traditional have probably already started shopping for their own remote chronic care management acquisitions. The stock price of Levine go rival Barrio health, which also manages chronic illnesses spiked almost thirty percent following the news. But let's get real. What could all this mean for most of us? One Stop Virtual healthcare management that's at least part of the answer, your blood pressure spikes you'll see it on your digital sensor and maybe through that same device, your virtual doctor will be contacted automatically if it gets bad enough, it's a future that could be more convenient, less personal, not very private and very lucrative for digital health entrepreneurs. PRO TALK with Rick Watson

"Brick Watson is a pleasure to have you on the show. Thank you so much for agreeing to do this all. Thank you for having me Pat and it's a pleasure to be on your show. we were talking before the show. The last time we ran into each other was with the home builders show in Las Vegas, and as you pointed out, the world has changed a lot since then. Things have changed as I said, just a little bit since then but you know what a great show you know. I love when you guys come in and talk to us about our new products and things like that. It's it's. It's an exciting show. I really love to do that show. I'm not in my white coat day. So sorry about that. We explain that you wear a lab coat when you're talking to folks at the builders show yes I do I am the Doctor Watch son if you will of paint. So are you able to to work from home or are you going into the office? What's going on with your work life? Well? I'm actually as you can see, I'm in my office I've been back in my office for two three weeks up to a month or so So we do have some people still in the doing their jobs from home quite effectively, and we have a a lot of number of folks still a coming actually down to the offices. Well. So where's your attended? Where's your office in downtown Cleveland Ohio? Can you tell me? What exactly it is you do for Sharon Williams and. If you've been there a long time and if you worked for other paint. Companies. Well my boss wonders what I do as well but no, that's that's just a joke. So. So when I, again, the Director Product Information Technical Services. So what we do in in my office is a number of things. One we help bring new products to life and you're aware of the new products that we introduced at the ibis So what we do is we help commercialise those products from data pages information from labels that you see on those cans to bringing that product to life in a number of our systems you we create, and we also maintain all of that information over our existing stores. product portfolio. So we also have under under my area. If you will. We also have what's called a product hotline and we have about ten agents that actually take a lot of calls from our stores and all of our field people when they have questions about product or say you would call in your store or something you would call in and need some help on. A. Specific Specification on how to paint this piece him aluminum or whatever it may be We have agents that will actually take care of that as well. How do you train those people? They must have to know a ton of stuff. Well yes. Yeah. Typically you know what we what we talk about is. When you're in the field, you kinda get It get trained really quick in the field. Put it that way you know you're dealing with contractors coming in a lot in there, asking all these questions. So it it's kind of like repetition. So if you've been out in the field ten plus years, you've seen a lot So all of our agents of. Roughly twenty I think it was around twenty two years of service with Sherwin Williams on average. So, we have some agents that are thirty five years and was Sherwin Williams I have thirty three years in with Sherwin. Williams. So you know what's a lot of knowledge that you gain over a period of time working on the phones or in the as well? Did you start in a paint store or as a painter or are you a chemist? What's what's your background? How does one become this person? Well actually. In order to get myself through college a friend of mine I started a paint company little paint company painting houses in the summer, and when we come home from from school and the brakes, we would go to houses and pain inside or outside whatever. And it just so happened one day. There was a career fair at Ball State University where I went school Sherwin Williams was there. You know I was a little bit cocky I said Hey I used your paint and a the manager there said why don't you come and interview I said Okay I will. So long story short I interviewed started as a management training person. And went to commercial store in Fort Wayne Indiana. And from there I worked as the operations manager for a few months and then became a sales rep and from sales rep. I did that greatest job in the company. I love being a sales rep going out talking with contractors you know getting my hands dirty getting closed you know closed dirty you name it a great job. But I wanted to change. So I went into managing a store. And then from a store, went to open up brand new store. And then realize you know i. you know that that's a lot of lifting you know my ankles and the knees hurt. So I said maybe I should use my head in my mouth and then came to Cleveland and worked in our product hotline for a number of years, and then just basically progressed up into the director of product information.

And it is the state of New York that has the authority and the power over them. People say. Well, can't you talk to them and get my lights on? We talked to them all day long. What I can't do is order them. Con Ed says. It's singular purpose is getting everyone back and close to 4000 crews are out there trying to do that right now. Once power is restored to all the state Public Service Commission will investigate. Where the utilities prepared did they have adequate crews at the ready? Did they communicate effectively with struggling customers? The village of Mamaroneck mayor has put out an E mail to residents urging them to file complaints with PSC.

"Here's the specs. The yacht is called illusions at first was I thought it was called the illusion or illusions. It's just called illusions talking heads. It's one hundred and eight feet long. It has a false staff also chef. It has four state rooms I think stay room in this context means bedroom. But I'm not sure whatever they are. Whatever state rooms are illusions has four of them. Illusions is a big enough boat that it comes with other boats and vehicles that ride on top of it. It comes with two jet skis and sixteen foot long jetboat. It's boat that comes with the boat. I do not know my way around a yacht. I do own a row boat but I don't know anything about you. Know the makings of a good state room if I laid down in one for a nautical nap. But I'll tell you for news purposes. You should know that boats that make the news they tend to have a paper trail online, and so I think this might be the boat in question. This might be illusions when you google illusions yacht at least this is the bad boy that pops up and it does have the the hike embedded jet skis and the vote and the fancy bedrooms and all the rest of it. The reason I went on a very pleasurable Internet. Deep dive for this today. Is that some good ship illusions some yacht of that name. has now been cited as evidence in a long long long long list of allegations of fraud and multimillion dollar self-dealing at the NRA at the national, Rifle Association in a lawsuit that was filed today by New York Attorney. General Letitia James The NRA as an organization is chartered in New York. It has been chartered in New York for well over one hundred years. As a New York institution as a New York charitable institution, it has to follow the rules and laws for nonprofits operating in New York. And according to the Attorney General's lawsuit, the longtime president of the NRA Wayne Lapierre often stayed on the illusions yacht without paying for it. Those trips were present from one of the NRA's vendors with Mr Lapierre getting the US you know the chef and the jet skis and presumably all four state rooms for free. What he didn't do was disclose his acceptance of what The New York ag alleges was this very, very expensive gift on the NRA's financial disclosures in that is something that is required by New York state. Law. From the lawsuit quote Mr Peres testimony to the attorney general he said that the reason he failed to disclose the use of the was for security reasons and because he considered the to have been used for legitimate. A legitimate business per best. But wait there's more according to the New York Attorney General Wayne Lapierre spent five hundred thousand dollars of the NRA's money. That's NRA donors right are members providing money to the NRA for its purpose is a nonprofit instead. Up here is taking a half million dollars of that money to spend specifically on private airplane flights to the Bahamas and back for his family at least eight times over just the last three years. The Attorney General says he spent more than thirteen million dollars of the NRA's money on a private travel consultant arranging additional private flights in luxury cars for him and his family. Over the last six years there was also at least one African Safari for Wayne Lapierre and his wife which the says they improperly accepted from another NRA vendor. The AG. Ticks off lots of fancy Christmas gifts for law peers, friends, and family and golf club membership fees and a twelve thousand dollars hotel bill at the four seasons not for weighing up here but for his niece. Over the course of four years, the lawsuit alleges that Wayne Lapierre was reimbursed for more than a million dollars worth of personal expenses straight out of the NRA's coffers. So. Your uncle with the NRA sticker on the back of his pickup. decided to put up there because it shows that he's an NRA member do-or-die he's been dutifully giving them their money. He's been like putting. Lapierre's niece up in the four seasons and flying Wayne in his family back and forth at the Bahamas. That membership money's been going to. The lawsuit filed today is over one hundred, fifty pages. The New York Attorney General Letitia James sets out in fairly stunning detail her case for how the president of the NRA and several of his top lieutenants drained more than sixty four, million dollars out of the NRA for their own personal gain over a very short period of time just over a period of a few years.

"Many years especially when right field was more impactful when the foundations of today's age were taking off so much research with here at Afrl, and there's all kinds of research and aerospace research places that are here. It made a lot of sense Scott Crossfield even said to me once amy, you're not a pilot unless you through right field everybody who's anybody flies through right field, and of course, you know in the early days, there were Ayla celebrity who always came on China and it was John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart. Who's who I remember? My first enshrinement in nineteen ninety, nine Ted Williams came at Joe Foss. We've had John Travolta Dennis, quaid miles, O'Brien all been and sees it the hall of fame event but I would say following the economic downturn of two thousand nine and companies started to pull out of the Dayton area. It was harder to get that kind of support. So while the city of Dayton wholeheartedly loves having the hall of fame here we also Need people who can sponsor because we receive no federal state or local funding at all whatsoever. So we have to depend on aerospace aviation companies industry to support US and in Trimbe it was a big help us getting brand recognition. It's never been moneymaker. It's part of our mission to memorialize. So we need people to support our education and support are learning center through sponsorship. So what we decided to do in two thousand seventeen is actually take quote unquote. Show on the road, the Oscar night of aviation left Dayton and we went to Dallas first, and then we went to DC in twenty, eighteen and Denver and twenty nineteen than we were supposed to have a homecoming here in twenty twenty. But of course, the this year has been postponed until two thousand, twenty one we're working on getting is back to the National Aviation Hall of fame in Dayton use an abbreviation there a F- on the Air Force research. Lab. So. Here Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Employees. I think it's twenty to thirty thousand people in. Southwest Ohio, and only about less than half of those are active military. So there's a lot of research scientists here, and that's where the United States air force does all their most important research everything from what they're going to build aircraft out of to what their munitions do and Jet Propulsion. It's all located here in Dayton at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Still is very much a hub of aerospace activity. especially from the military and. Speaking of which there are signs that the or the appeal of aerospace is not resonating with the youngest generation do you sense that and if so is the hall responding in some way? It's hard because it's just like covert. The company's nonprofits that survive cove. It are the ones who are going to adapt and react to the situation with kids with this next generation they're not so much looking up lake weeded or the generation before me did Neil Armstrong stood in one place and what's fair to the sky and we all know the Wright brothers played with a little plastic helicopter type thing that inspired them. So we need to appeal to kids in. What interest them? So that might be if they're interested in the environment, they WANNA make less noise from aircraft. They want less jet fumes from cargo plane. That kind of thing we have to say, why not you? Why don't you figure that out? It makes me think of enshrining clap Myra who wanted a safer jet plane. So he thought about it and thought about it and he Allen Clapp mark came up with this idea of putting a parachute on the top of. A plane and everyone's like that's not gonNA work except the vision jet is pretty remarkable. So what we need to do is have kids interact or read about or they have to know who Bill Mayer is, and it isn't just Alan Shepherd. It isn't just the astronauts it isn't just the inventors it's all the Chinese and they can inspire kids more than just an aviation. It could be designed it to be dreamers that could be artists, but if we all have. Heroes. That's what gets kids going and if we give them a problem like make less noisy aircraft or might be a kid who's a Gamer and they sit on the computer all day, they're actually going to be fantastic drone pilots. We just have to recognize what they're doing and adapt to it.

For years, the diverted millions and millions of dollars away from its charitable mission for personal use by senior leadership to award contracts to the financial gain of close associates and family. The president also tweeting about it today and making these comments at the White House Before heading to Ohio. I just heard about that. That is a very terrible thing that just happened. I think the NRA should move to Texas and lead a very good and beautiful life. And I told him that for a long time I think they should move to Texas. Texas would be a great place for to another state off they're using, But I would say that Texas would be a great place in an appropriate place for the NRA has been going on for a long time. They've been absolutely decimated by the cost of that lawsuit on. It's very sad, but I would suggest that that's what they should be doing from those comments from the president and one of the note from the NRA, which says the organization quote will not shrink from this fight. Airbus Makes Autonomous Takeoff & Landing

"Airbus they sell flying plane just completed successful to act a taxi takeoff and landing. So this is not a small plane either this was the eighth HR fifty one thousand X. WB. And obviously. full-scale like commercial, Wayne which is pretty cool. So is this getting close to market is something that's in our near future autonomous or we still a ways away why I kind of wonder if this is driven by all the can I, fly the plane like just GonNa be pilot to push the button no. Undefined that will not happen for a long time but I, it's a large airplane, the three fifty, a bigger playing the dash one thousand is is a very long aircraft. I think. Airbus's flexing their muscle a little bit and I think Boeing would have done it already to if they could have they got other problems right now they're trying to deal with. The ability to. Fly An aircraft autonomously of that size, and particularly taxi taxis the place where a lot more difficulties it is not easy. So. You have to have a very, very talented engineering staff to even get close to do something like that and great software engineers and with all the ev to. Electric vertical-takeoff-landing aircraft talking by being autonomous and Honeywell and some others and Garm, and doing a lot of things that are nearly autonomous. I'm not surprised they Airbus's stepped up and say, okay, watch this. No way no way they went to show that yeah. Airbus isn't playing either they if they wanted to do it, they could do it but on the other side. Airbus has watched some of the problems that Boeing and Airbus as had with politics make mistakes in the air and I know Boeing this past week talked about the CEO was talking about. How the aircraft is, GonNa. Be More autonomous in that. They were GonNa let pilots make as many. critical decisions whether they could get their craft in trouble and Airbus has been down that path. His was done that long ago. So I'm not surprised that Airbuses doing it. How how would they would ever? I don't think wherever to the point in the next ten years. I don't see there's going to be autonomous aircraft in a commercial sense either cargo or commercial flight. But if it does release some of the burden on the pilots and make the airplane fly cleaner and smoother on all that I would expect a lot of those pieces of information that to Airbus has developed on this project will be integrated into the aircraft over time will be well, how does this affect pilots in the long term? So say you know ten years from now pilots don't have to take off they don't have to land. And they don't have to do that much. Do they become quickly out of practice like actually having to do these things to say the system is like not working one day and they have to land it and haven't landed a plane in a hundred flights I mean is this Nina I mean like if you don't Cook dinner every night, you get rusty at at whipping up of really nice meal. You know what I mean yes I think that's totally true I it's just a nature. Outcome that it's inevitable the the other side of that is. Companies like Airbus and Boeing. Aircraft Company have the ability to create simulators and put pilots in simulators into them. Quote fly the airplane. because the the one thing you don't want to burn a bunch of fuel getting a pilot up to speed if you don't have to And if there's any complacency. The regulatory bodies like Yasa and the FAA will be all over it. And the the first people usually complain about not getting enough lifetime other pilots quite honestly they wanna be as. As. Ever that's that's the big push by all the pilots. Unions is proficiency proficiency proficiency and proficiency means seat time actually flying the airplane in fact I remember flying on southwest. A couple of times this that's been tennis years ago maybe a little bit longer. Remember flying I remember the aircraft being hand flown. For landing I thought boy that is so it's been a longest time that I've been on an aircraft been hand flown because he just put the out how do you put on the flight path and it just flies it but the south I ask southwest pilot while was leaving the airplane you flew that you flew that by hand all the way down he goes. Yeah. It's it's he said it's good for US pilots to fly the aircraft. It just gives us more proficiency. So I don't see this is taking over. Time. But I do think there are when having redundant systems or helpful systems on aircraft and pilots out of trouble.

"On Jamie Party on Caitlyn. Expect cast beg to cast movie time. Salmon is my. I wasn't ready and I am so happy was the first time I felt good in like days. Oh Yes oh for the listeners. At home we are recording. This on the date is March. Twelfth grown virus had already sounds really dystopia. The date is capsule if you find this at the beginning of or at the beginning of whatever the millions of injuries movie is where it's like Robert Downey junior spacey's Day three. It's a gloomy day. It's a gloomy day. But that put me in a great move. The thank you. You're welcome. We're talking about Wayne's world today yes we are so what we're doing on this podcast. We talk about the representation of women in movies. We use the Bechtel test as a jumping off point to initiate larger conversation. And do you know what that is Nothing negative Jamie. Tell me actually Caitlyn. The Bechtel test is a media metric invented by a cartoonist alison. Bechtel's on roads called the Bhakta Wallace test. That requires that a piece of media. Have an interaction between two female identified characters with names. Talk about something other than a man for more than two lines of dialogue. Wow you don't see Jamie. Yeah I do say okay. Well that passed the Bechtel test. Well it that's true that's nice. Yeah that's nice us. Talking Virus Passes the virus is genderless. Yeah so yes Today's movie is Wayne's world weeks for a guest with us. She is terrific. She was a segment director on. Jimmy Kimmel live She's a filmmaker and the director of the upcoming movie. Golden arm which is a female driven comedy that shows women in the competitive world of arm wrestling much fun. It's Maureen Baruta high for having me excited. He's bringing US wains. Were Only God. It's one of my all time favorite. Yes so tell us your your relationship your history with this movie. I feel like this movie is a very seminal movie for me I I think came out when I was in junior high school so I think it was a time where you're just like being goofy and weird and it's definitely one that. I've like probably seen the most and it was interesting to watch it. We watched it last night. Okay in in the lens of the Bechtel will work. But it's like oh it doesn't. It has some issues but it. I think it holds. I do too not well I do too. I was impressed. I thought you know there's definitely elements and in some cases entire characters like nine hundred ninety two fuck off but in but like good. I don't know address things that you're like a kind of addresses those within the movie points right it is very Meta. Yes and Tommy a lot about a lot of things about like who are coup girls. Who are not talking about movies and making television not so references and Wayne's world two have been more now oh I haven't seen there's a drastic park reference. There's a thelma and Louise Referenda graduate graduate. Yeah got it all Jimmy. What's your relationship in history? I don't have much of a history with it. I mean this movie came out before I was born so I and I didn't. I don't know my my dad was a big Fan of this movie and I thought everything. My Dad liked was stupid so later learned that that was not true and that. I really liked this movie. I like Mike Myers and Dana. Carvey individually quite a bit. My favorite bad horrible horrible movie as a master of disguise started I Love I love. Shrek. Here's my review Shiloh. Shrek no but I. This is my first time on this movie and I really enjoyed it. I laughed a lot alike. It's it makes me laugh every time it's like I feel like it's so funny it's it's such a great character movie. Yeah I feel like everything they do in character. Stephanie with Garth I love so much and I haven't to a original. That's what she said. I feel like I mean I G- when everyone came out and saying that in the office but does your Wayne's world yeah sure that whoever wrote that on the office was well aware. They're like no no no that was Wayne's world. I really liked it. I had so much fun watching it. I think that like you know on issues of gender. It doesn't do Perfect but on issues of class. I think it does really well. And I have a lot to say about the perfect class issues. Addressed in Wayne's history with winthrop. I definitely grew up with this movie. I we had like the to. Vhs tapes. Of Wayne's World Wayne's were to I saw his at least can get it. Get it as a set and then I bought the set also on DVD. Later Yeah these were a huge staple in the durant household even as recently as two years ago. So I do this fun thing sometimes where I dress up as my own couples costume Because I never have a partner very cool blue and so I will combine. What would normally be to people wearing different costumes? It's always a Wayne and garth and I will combine them into one means that I wear the whole thing of so I've done that for Mardi MC fly and his girlfriend Jennifer Jennifer exactly and I also did it for Wayne and Garth so I have a photo that I will share on instagram and stuff their classic duo like conic do yes. And it's like I knew who Wayne and Garth were even though I'd never seen the movie like it's just like in the DNA of the colts. Yeah well the daily Zeitgeist. Maybe when I was in junior high school again this movie was like me and my friend group loved it was all girls and I think it was before really knew what like swingman so we went to really know what owner so in seventh grade. I went to Catholic school. Remember like me and my friends would. We thought it was like something exciting. Like you did a good job so in class we would stand up. If you've got an eight way like the girl I think all the boys knew what it was so they never did it. I think they thought it was embarrassing. Me and my friends are like swing. Swing swing like in class standing up and it's like now I'm like what just like all the girls in my class showing we did not realize that it was. You're having a Boehner and this really is directed by which I feel like we'll talk about but it also I think that like a lot of yours movie. Yeah who is like an icon in in her own right This is like the highest grossing Snl Sketch originating movie of all time. Like it's got a lot of it helped propel Bohemian rhapsody to the number two song of Nineteen Ninety two which is wild because it came out in the seventy S. Everybody has done that with friends like that song comes on and you do this scene in this guest. Yeah I remember doing that in middle school my cousin and not fully understanding why we were doing it but she had just seen. Let's do the recap. We'll go from there. We meet Wayne Campbell. That's Mike Myers and his best friend. Garth Elgar that's Dana Carvey. Y'All there are these two you know grungy rock and roll dudes who have a local cable access. Show called Wayne's world heard a vicious which they tape out of Wayne's basement in Aurora Illinois. I always think of Mike Myers so deeply Canadian that I assumed that took place in Canada. Oh yeah baby makes you think This Guy Benjamin Rob. Lowe's character is a TV producer. Who sees the show? And he's like. Hey I think I can sell this. Because he's got I guess. Like a client Noah Vander Hoff. Who owns a chain of arcades and is looking to sponsor a show then? Wayne and garth and their friends slash crew. Go to this rock club and this band is playing. Whose lead singer is Cassandra. And Wayne sees her and he goes. Let me see if there's right. She's a babe swing earn so goofy and he chats with her for a minute and he's like. I'm in love with this woman and she invites him to another Gig of hers Meanwhile Benjamin and this producer Guy Russell are trying to pitch Wayne's world to know vendor Hof even though they don't own Wayne's world so the go-to Wayne and Garth and Ben is here sign these contracts and we'll give you a bunch of money and like garth thinks it's weird but like this is Wayne's dream so he goes along with it they sign the contracts then Wayne goes to Cassandra's Gig And they afterwards and she kinda kidney usually likes him he likes her. They are vibe ing. They start dating then. Wayne and garth start doing rehearsals for the like sponsored network version. This is it's such good satire to of how because it's like you know that the set that they're in is probably what they were doing. Snl and then they just like stupid. This is the whole thing right. Because they're it's the set that looks like Wayne's basement that's not Wayne's basement and Wayne and especially garth feel uneasy about Benjamin because he's like. This slimy money boy Siamese money boy. Is it a boy who gets bitten by a radioactive slime money even with my radio active money? That's why moneyball is about right. Yea bitten by Haredi Money So then Wayne and Garth Goto an Alice Cooper concert in Milwaukee. And they're they bump into a security guard played by Chris Farley. Who by the way plays a different character in wins world to really? I think it's a different character. Funny I believe so Who tells them about Frank? Sharp this record producer. Who is looking for new acts to sign and Chris? Farley lays out his whole travel schedule and he's like he's going to be coming through Chicago in This Day and then joke. The joke is made about how you'll you know for security guard. He had an awful lot of information. And we're like Meta humor. We love to see it then. Wayne and garth go back to Chicago for their. I taped show but Wayne Humiliates Noah Vendor. Hof On air so Benjamin fires him very funny and Punk Rock Sphinx boy. Which is a boy bitten by a radioactive spider and then Wayne is like well. I'm taking my show with me and Benjamin's like I own the show so Wayne storms out and he leaves garth there all by himself. Which upsets Garth? And they get in this big fight. Cassandra then breaks up with Wayne. Because he thinks that she might be having sex with Benjamin Right which we will amount and this is what we call it. The low point of the wage white almost like she has two degrees screenwriter. I would never mentioned my master's screenwriting from Boston University. I think that Alfred Molina would have been a great money in this movie. I like when he plays the money. Boy I like it then Wayne decides to win Cassandra back. And he's going to do that by trying to get that frank sharp guy to listen to. Cassandra play music in. The hopes that he will want to sign her. And using the Info that Chris Farley gave them they stage this whole thing where Wayne goes to Chicago to get CASSANDRA. Who's in the middle of shooting? A music video with Benjamin. He brings her back to his house. They do the Wayne's world show from his basement just like old times and then like garth uses his like tech skills to. He's a hacker. He's a hacker percenter. Hi Yes he like. Triangulate some statellites or something So cassandra playing on. The show will be broadcast on the TV in Frank. Sharps LIMO. Frank sees it he goes to Wayne's house there are various alternate endings but the real ending is that he signs Cassandra and basically everyone lives happily ever after so. That's the story quick break. We'll come back party on the World Is Yours. The Ball podcast. The new podcast with.

"Golden headphones makes sense. Do both Yup. Yes great okay. Let's play killer knowledge. Here we go with around one for this. First round the questions introduced us to John Wayne Gracie as he grows from an abused child into a violent monster. Casey was born in March. Nineteen forty two. He was the only son of three children. His mother Marian was a homemaker his father. John was a car mechanic in veteran. Question Number One. In which city was John? Wayne Casey born a Chicago Illinois. Be Milwaukee. Wisconsin see Detroit Michigan Megi. Be Milwaukee Wisconsin. That is incorrect Caitlyn. I'M GONNA go with a Chicago Illinois a Chicago Illinois is the correct answer growing up. John Wayne Casey was much closer to his two sisters and mother than his father who is physically and emotionally abusive. John had health issues that kept him from being active like other boys in that made him the subject of more ridicule and beatings from his father. The score is one to nothing. In favor of CAITLAND. The criticism mistreatment stretched into Casey's high school years. Then around the age of Twenty Casey briefly escaped that life by moving to Las Vegas for three months. That's where you got a job that played directly into the mind of disturbed man question number two. Where did Casey work while he lived in Las Vegas a the homicide unit? Be a mortuary see a cemetery. Maggie be a mortuary the correct answer is B. John Wayne. Casey worked as an assistant at Palm. Mortuary in Las Vegas in later interviews. Casey said that he slept behind the embalming room and he revealed that he wants crawled into a coffin and cuddle the dead body of a teenage boy before becoming overwhelmed with disgusted himself. This prompted Casey to move back to Chicago with his family. That makes the score one to one..

"All right joining me now is a first class father he is a veteran of the US army who has been featured on the covers of international fitness magazines such as men's fitness and muscle and fitness. He is also a successful entrepreneur who has been featured in Forbes and entrepreneur. It is a huge honor for me to say Colin Wayne. Welcome to First-class Fatherhood appreciate you having me man. Let's start here. How many how old audit so I've got three kids. My oldest is eight years old. Just turn eight and June is named Carson and I've got two daughters. Bree Lynn is two years old to be three in November and I just had felt her in a her name's Brindley. Wow Yeah congratulations there did you. Did you find out what you were having with all of them. Are you gender reveal thing no man I found out I I'm a planner so I gotta no. I'm not going to sit back and wait so yeah. We definitely wanted his nose soon. As possible. Okay very cool. What type of sports activities you've got the eight year rolled into He loves baseball but he's a sports fanatic. He does everything that soccer but but really really big into baseball okay all right. That's awesome. I please just sit here and take a minute to hit my listeners but a little bit about your background and what you do sure so I've got I wanNA layers to me from Huntsville Alabama and unlike a lot of people. It's actually a pretty big the fastest growing county in the state of Alabama but I I was emancipated at sixteen military team it almost souvenirs three two or Egypt Iraq Afghanistan. I got injured left transitioned into the fitness modeling side was successful with it and started to grow social media following which is now transitioning over three million followers across social media without a PR firm without agencies just literally direct Message Union Establishing Rapport landed over fifty magazine covers with big publications like men's fitness muscle and fitness iron man performance performance of many many many other publications around the world and then I look at like what's next and I looked at that. You know like what's the longevity. I've got kids now. Like how can I You know with modeling you know. There's the you have time to shit that you can only do it for so long. so. I was doing great and yes I was at the pinnacle of my career within the fitness. Modeling side but transitioned didn't into opening my own company which is redline steel. I started that sort of the development process back in two thousand fifteen. It's Kim but we officially launched January of two thousand sixteen and so now scaled-back business from five thousand square feet into over one hundred ten thousand awesome square feet over forty employees have grossed You know well over thirty million dollars in three years so yeah. That's very very brief overview yeah yeah what an incredible journey that you've had your. Colin and how old were you when you first became a dad and had it becoming a father kind of change your perspective in life so I when I just got back from Iraq and two thousand ten. I met my ex wife and and found out that after about a month after astor to be my girlfriend she's GonNa be pregnant so it's definitely a surprise had no wasn't expecting it wasn't complaining but it's definitely been a massive blessing on my side but I was just twenty-one yeah okay and what are some of the challenges of being you know all the running a multimillion dollar company like yours while being bother so you know. I I look at it you know I've got three kids but red lines my baby as well and so I think for entrepreneurs out there and it's you know it's going to be very difficult for you to have that work. Life Balance that there really isn't such a thing especially when you're an infant stages of affairs type of growth company it definitely takes a lot of sacrifice but at the end of the day like Red Line is my baby as well. I call it a fourth kid and when you're starting starting a business you really have to look at it as a newborn baby needs constant attention and until you can get into the macro within your business. It's IT'S GONNA. It's GonNa be that way for a while. So it does take a little of attention is going to take attention on the weekends at nights and it really you know you get what you put into into it so yeah. I guess technically I've got four kids 'cause reverend smokey as well yeah well said and and I know that you know you were I believe high facebook drop out. I read that somewhere probably informs or entrepreneur yeah so I paid it at sixteen so basically what happened. There's I moved from my mom's House my dad's house and it transitioned where the scheduling with the high schools were different you go from block walked furious which is four periods to seven periods and it's. GonNa hold me back another year and in first grade I was. I was held back as well so I was already kind of older in my class. I didn't want to be nineteen years old graduate high school and so I just made a decision where look man. I'm going to join the military now military. Can we pay for college college if I want to go that route and my parents supported it and so I yeah so I just got my GD and join the military a few days after my seventeenth birthday yeah now that that's incredible to go from high school dropouts and now running a multimillion dollar business you know being in Forbes and all that now I it's so very encouraging and I know that a lot of them. You know a lot of military veterans. They struggle once they leave. The military would finding that what's next like what type of advice do you happen. Guys is out there other veterans that are trying to find your way so I think the biggest transitional period is is that structure they're used to it. They're used to accountability there. Use is to you know having somebody tell them what to do how to do it when to do it you know and and have sap's in place standard operating procedures but when you transition out I mean you you have to hold yourself accountable so my advice is to set preliminary short term mid term goals and hold yourself accountable to ensure ensure that you do hit those goals and that's going to be some form of Self Accountability Structure Yeah Great Advice there all right that the NFL season is now upon us and the Major League baseball season is winding down..

And he I don't know what to do normal like pretty much like, did you are you happy with your job? Do you or anything else go? I don't know. I'm not really happy with it anymore. Anyway, it goes well doubts time to do something new. And he just happened to have a passion for bread making. So he pursued it and opened this incredible bakery, in this tiny little town called those Alamos called. Los Alamos where the nuclear testing. I think it's a different Los Alamos. There's there's, there's a Los Alamos in New Mexico. Yeah. And this Los Alamos is. Just off the one on one. And so there's like a little it's like it's kind of a vineyard area and this tiny little town is sort of being revitalized by. Just like artsy creative types. So these old rundown places are now like like patik hotel, like dole old motels turned into like a Tiki hotel. That's any opened this really incredible. It's like the fucking best bread ever. It's called well. Bred. Well, bred? It's called Los Alamos. Name's Bob, and he was great. Well, I'm glad it worked out for him. Because it sounded like coming in on the story it sound like this guy was in marketing, and then was a waiter serving, you know, his shop. Well, then that was hit Brent. It was his it was his cafe. And, you know, and also just such an interesting lesson. I'm like, oh my God. You don't like whatever direction you think your life is going. And then all the sudden something changes and it's like, well, I'm just going to do this and other new thing now. So I don't know. It was it was very inspiration good for above good for Bob. Let's talk about you, Wayne Brady. How're you doing? I love these glasses. I have these was a kid. No. These originals. This is an original that the one you have is a reproach, but I have original original Landau air, and you can see the shape of the glasses is different, so cool. Yeah. Although someone has pointed out that if you got. The glass and hadn't seen the movie. The, the little exposition on the back gives up a lot of it's a lot of spoiler. Oh, yeah. They do that in the on on the cards to like as a kid. I remember having having the Star Wars cards, and depending on which cards you gave it actually told you the movie. Yeah. It's what you the exact thing. I'm hoping that, if you bought the card, you probably saw the movie. It's like no one watches talking dead. If they didn't watch Walking Dead. You know what I mean? It's like they probably we can't spoil anything on the show because people are probably already in just random glasses, if you were just like I'm going to get some water. I sure can't wait to go see the Star Wars movie, God, damn it, it's right here on the. Never again. He's very excited. He's very passionate rea-. Big. Bigs hours fan growing up will yes. And no. And I think it's an interesting thing thing because I, I'm, I'm writing a book right now called young gifted and wack about being a, a young black nerd from the hood and we've heard these stories in the eighties. Of course. Those of us that came they came of age about being being a nerd of the things that worked sessile to you people never talk about the kids who were nerds, and never had the things that you went..

"Wayne cabinet. Palmer name three things to know. Seven fifteen hundreds came to Paterson New Jersey city hall last night after the death of a twenty seven year old man who went to police over the weekend. Saying people are trying to kill him to make Lowery died Monday last night's protest ended with a large crowd running from police headquarters after witnesses say they were maced by police number to President Trump and the democratic leaders of the house and Senate stuck to the script. There were no new arguments for the border barrier and last night's Oval Office speech, the speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi set up an order leader Chuck Schumer repeated their arguments against the wall. The president visits Capitol Hill today at host congressional leaders at the White House, and three fact checking the speeches I to hear the president here declaring there is a humanitarian crisis a crisis of the heart and soul on the border. The federal government remains shut down for one reason and one reason only because Democrats will not fund border security. Democrats have offered one point three billion dollars. Well, short of the five point six billion demanded by the White House speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi, sadly much of what we heard from President Trump's throughout this of shutdown has been full of misinformation. Uneven even malice the president has chosen fear. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer argued that the president is using millions of Americans is leverage an estimated eight hundred thousand federal workers are furloughed or working without pay during the shutdown. President Trump told the nation that there is a border wall to address the nation's addiction epidemic. But the DA has said that Fenton hill is often mailed into the US from China and much of the heroin supply crossing the border illegal entry points comes in hidden and motor vehicles. But the president said what is going on at the southern border is a crisis over the years. Thousands of Americans have been brutally killed by those who illegally entered our country and thousands more lives will be lost. If we don't act right now Shepard Smith on the Fox News channel was among those fact checking the president's take on migration in violent crime. He made a number of claims, they're speaking specifically about a murder rates among those who are undocumented immigrants, the government statistics show that there is less. Violent crime by the undocumented immigrant population than by the general population, the president visits the border tomorrow. Sources tell the times that in an off the record talk with TV anchors before his speech. The president said he was not inclined even to make last night's speech in the first place or visit the border, but he says he was talked into it by advisors at hundred eight on Wednesday. As.

"Wayne. Join. The rest of the family in the house around one pm along with Justin Diane. There was also Wayne's brother. I couldn't find the name of Wayne's brother standing in the kitchen, Wayne open the package, the first thing he saw was an envelope that said merry Christmas. Wayne peruse the letter. It was a business proposal inside the box were crumpled up fliers from various advertisers, placed inside the box. This was used as likely padding Britain after removing the papers Wayne pulled out a large Duracell flashlight. So this is a balky flashlight with a handle on it. Yeah. And we'll post all these pictures on Instagram at true crime garage, Dwayne flicked on the power switch, but nothing happened. So Justin took the flashlight and try the button as well. But the light did not come on. He tried to open up the battery compartment. But couldn't it seemed like it was glued or fastened. Shut Wayne took the flashlight back. Moving into the family room and sitting down on the sofa. He then tried the switch again in the room exploded, they called nine one one immediately after the explosion you heard a portion of that call during our trailer, the trauma and fear in Diane's voices palpable. She's she's screaming the flashlight was a cleverly disguised bomb. The interior of the flashlight was filled with explosives that were sparked by the activation of the ons which packed around. The explosives were a large number of roofing. Nails the nails did exactly what they were intended to do. They sprayed Wayne in the area around him the front of Wayne's body, including his face, basically, blew up blood sprayed all over the walls windows, shattered nails, flew through the drywall and into other rooms even embedding in the ceiling, basically lost everything from his face down to his thought is I hate to paint, this unfortunate picture. But you have to picture for a second demand sitting there on the sofa the flashlight basically in his lap. And he's looking down at the flashlight win this bomb goes off. So he absorbed almost all of the blast. According to investigators, he died instantly the Salk about the investigation, captain. So when the police arrived, they found the family room covered into Bree. Broken furniture and glass, where everywhere Wayne's body was still lying on the couch now covered with a blanket and his family was in hysterics, the Antero police they closed off the scene and sent the family elsewhere for questioning detective Paul Johnson of the homicide unit was put in charge of the investigation processing the scene took several days. Police gathered the names of business associates and colleagues of Wayne's started looking through his business. Banking travel and phone records and the package that was holding the bomb. It was confirmed that was delivered through the mail. But also the box was a wind box as well. Right. Yeah. The mail carrier. Her name is Joyce said that her and her daughter and small grandson were in her mail truck that day helping with packages and deliveries on her route. She remembered the package to Wayne because of a pretty ribbon that was on this package. She also noted that the package fitted if exactly into the mailbox Joyce was still out on her route when she heard the sirens, but she didn't discover what had actually happened until the following day when she arrived at the post office, which was now crawling with cops. Okay. So captain, what kind of evidence can we collect from the packaging? I it had a large number of stamps on it amounting to extra postage. So it would appear that someone wanted to make sure that this wouldn't get returned. That they put more than enough to guarantee that it would be delivered. Of course, you're not gonna want a package that's a bomb to be returned to you. Well, and unfortunately, no DNA was found on the stamps or the packaging, but also something with the packaging the box that it held in like a said was wine. So you wonder he's in the distribution business? Is there somebody that distributes wind that would have access to this box to put the bomb in?.

"The way you use to simple words i am instead of saying things like i am sad i am sick or i am unlovable wayne suggest to focus on what you wish to be true by saying things like i am happiness i am health i am love it's a technique he believes has helped him immensely with his leukemia tell me this when did you know the leukemia was gone you know i was still writing wishes fulfilled at that time yes and i begin to to listen to the reading that i was doing on it on the i am discourses and and and what it said in there is always used to the name i am is the name of god it's the name that god said to moses i am that i am and he's done that she'll be mine name for all future generations so that's my name so every time you use the name i am you're really using the name of god so if you say i am weak you know in in the book again of the bible into the book of joel it says let the week man say i am strong so you you have to call things that do not exist as if they did that's again that's out of the book of job so you have to get yourself to a place where you're willing to say i am perfect health i am well i now start all of my lectures with i am well i am i am perfect i'll and i don't go back and check my my white blood counts i say this i have not partaken of new blood tests and medical valuations because i trust in what i experienced is such a degree that i need no external validation to assure me that these mysterious mystical events took place i was there for the surgery and i was there for the suture removal i need say nothing more and so you now don't do the blood test i don't do the blood tests i don't mind the colleges that i was working with agrees with me he said just just go by how what you don't want is to be indoctrinated by somebody else's idea of what your health is that's one of the most important things like the the wishes fulfilled foundations that that this book is based upon our place into your imagination self actualized people i learned from abraham maslow's when i was a young doctoral student you never put into your imagination anything that you do not want to materialize into your life so you don't put into the imagination something like i am poor i am depressed you know because when moses was speaking to god god didn't say my name is i hope things work out or my name is maybe he said i am i i am that i meaning i am that and i am that and i am everything okay mastering the art of manifestation how is that different from the law of attraction it's very very different tell me the the law of attraction and i'm not i'm not here to put down the love attraction i think it's i think what the attraction and the secret open people up to a way of thinking absolutely it had its flaws because allowed some people to think that all you had to do is think about a bicycle nara which show up and the key word that you use in here over and over and over again in every chapter is that in order to attract or manifest anything you have to be in alignment with your source with with god we have to stay connected to the ocean you can't just sit around and wish your stuff or so the basic thing that neville taught me a lot of this is from the teachings of neville never got her who died in the nineteen seventies he he he basically said that all of us i have within us this amazing capacity to manifest attract anything that we want into our life so how we call it what what words that we use we have to be able to say you know in the secret they say you you get what you want you know what is missing and what neville said and what what has come to me and what i got from the i am discourses and what i get from the new testament which i read before i did is that you you say i will attract into my life what i am not what i.

"Right all right wayne before we get too far down the road i really wanted divan on a bunch of allocation topics manager selection topics lessons learned but we're going to take that to the live production so we'll cut that here and and jump into our live show terrific thanks everyone for coming so wayne and i spoke little bit earlier if you listened to the podcast all i typically go through someone's background and we did that and recorded it so we're just going to dive right into the investment part in so so wayne i i wanna want to you're the cio of icm a retirement what is i stand for so i see may stands for international city managers association and we're the retirement arm for essentially thousands of people all over the country that are international city managers and public employees so the district of columbia where we are today they happen to be a client of ours and we focus exclusively on defined contribution plans and helping those employees manage their retirement so when you have such a diverse array of people that you were helping how do you think about setting investment objectives so it's a little you know it's fairly simple actually and i think we could probably think the folks at morningstar to a certain extent for that ted because given the fact that we have such a wide number of participants you know it it really is something that you need to be able to provide education in a straightforward manner for people of various degrees of sophistication when it comes to investments and so when i came in back before we decided that one of the best ways to do that was not to think about funds relative to their lipper universes but to think about them in terms of morningstar style boxes in terms of way to convey that because or retail investors and morningstar spent so much money on that education process putting our product lineups within those style boxes seemed like the most efficient way to convey different types of strategies so you necessarily confined to public markets equities and fixed income i would say that in the broad array of what we're doing today currently that would be the case we do have our corporate balance sheet where we go in different directions but we really spend most all of our time publicly.
