"So very unusual to see a range of gold standing on the forum, but that was that was guy Lafleur and also too, I think I meant to say he brought elegance back to the game too, 'cause you gotta remember, you know, the big bad bruins won two cups then the fly is coming in and goon the league out for two cups. And then guy la fuller comes along with the rest of the Canadians and they kind of brought back this sort of classy style and elegant style and hockey as it should be played and you know it just a beautiful game and they brought the soda elegant style of playing hockey back and then ever since then yeah, obviously been some tough teams or whatever, but we never had that error like we did with the fly is just beating the fuck out of people to win Stanley Cup. So he also needs to take change the game. Yeah, he brought back this sort of elegant style of play. Also a national funeral is planned for May 3rd for just what to reiterate to the spit chicks family. He sends out a deeper sympathy to his family, his friends, his teammates, as well as the entire Canadians family. There was nobody else quite like them so I deepest thoughts are with everybody who loved and appreciated geese. So hopefully you're all doing okay. And especially everybody in Quebec. Yes, yes. I got up there. It was a hell of a player and I'm glad I got to see a play because he was a special guy. Yeah, yeah, well, I think we can have one final laugh, I think, before we close up the shop, yeah. You guys saw this video of this absolute knucklehead sitting on the plane with Mike Tyson. Oh my God. I mean, a guy had to have been shit faced because who would fuck with Mike Tyson like that, but that guy was so annoying in the video. So how annoying would he have been in person? And then to piss Mike Tyson off enough to beat you up at a plane? Dude had it. Should have killed that guy. By the way, that guy has like a rap sheet too. That guy's an idiot. I couldn't believe that there's no video of Tyson actually beating him up though, right? It's real grainy. I saw the punches. Yeah. Oh, you did? Yeah. It's great. I invited so I ended up being Brock Lesnar at the four seasons, the one night when all of us were having a few pops after one of the broadcasts and we exchanged numbers and he was in town vacationing with his family and he came to the coyote's game against the Washington capitals and we ended up putting them in one of the boxes. And when I went down, we actually, that came up, and he said, body goes same thing happened to me. When I was, I think he was in the UFC at the time. He was sitting first class, he said he had this guy just barking at him nonstop and he ended up turning around and bopping the guy a couple times too. So I mean, it's just a classic case of these big dogs when they go out, you just meet the right asshole and they just try to get you off your trying to rile you up and then next thing you know they're probably filing a lawsuit to get you back with it. Be a balls. Bez, you ever been close to Duff and someone? I mean, sure, you probably gotten shipped like that before. No, not like not like a guy being like, oh yeah, what are you tough hockey player? I got used to getting barf scraps when I was in playing in the American Hockey League. So that was the extent of it. That was just a dumb business, the dumb shit that I was doing back in the day. Never because they wanted a shot at the title, so to speak. I just can't believe that guy like thought he was that funny. It's not even funny what he's doing. There was no sort of quality to what he was doing that brought any sort of entertainment. Like, I'm surprised his buddies weren't like, what are you doing? It seemed like they were egging them on. It was just a bizarre scene where obviously those guys were shit faced, but I really wish Tyson broke the guy's orbital or something. Do we know if he got injured? You get a couple marks on his face. I don't think he busted. Yeah, that's not enough. That's not enough. I mean, I hate when people have rolled my shoulder. Even if I'm typing, let alone be in one of those pods on a plane and some drunk asshole is like impending day over your fucking shoulder man. I'm surprised Tyson didn't break his fucking face. So yeah, smart move, get drunk, start a fight with Tyson. Good luck with that. It's smart as saying the leafs have less pressure than the oilers. I actually think it's crazy that it was that one sided in the sense of it probably wasn't described in the tweet that they are playing the LA kings. Half these guys voting are probably not even aware who their matchup is. Well, that was kind of a kind of my argument that the matchup doesn't even matter. It's just like, if Toronto should move, the Maple Leafs have to move out of Toronto if they don't get out of the first round. No, they should have to allow another team within the radius. Yes. Yes. That's another Toronto team because they keep cock blocking. I think they are trying to do a team just outside of Trump. We're going to do one in Hamilton or something. I was like, no, that's not. Yeah, it should be like the fact that I gave up an outdoor game as a consolation prize. Well guys, next time we chat, we're going to be talking about some NHL playoff games. "Yeah. I love you a little jingle there. All right, let's see. Moving right along. Alexander Ovechkin, he hits 50 goals in a season for the 9th time ties Wayne Gretzky and Mike bossy, the only other guys to do it. Since he entered the NHL no other player has more than two 50 goal seasons, he's got 9. He's also the first player 36 or older to score 50 also has the most goals in a season by a guy 36 older, also 20th all time in points. His 780 goals trails, Gordie Howe by 21 and Wayne Gretzky by a 114. But scary moment versus Toronto Sunday. He was on a breakaway. Leafs go, what's it? How do you say you're gonna chalk cauldron? Some people say Shaw grin, God, a silent, but I don't have a fucking clue. Now what we was on a breakaway, he come in and he said he was trying to poke the puck away, but it was kind of awkward the way he hit him. It almost looked like he was trying to trip him and he did that tripped up, fell down over you look like he was in some serious pain. He got up. Hopefully he's going to be all right, but wait, did you think that was deliberate? Did it look accidental? I just never seen a put the stick white like that before. Oh, I think it would be kind of shocking for him to deliberately do that. I think he's just looking at a time and make a save, but luckily it did come out and said, oh, he's day to day, so I think he should be good. I quickly forgot to mention nurse is questionable for game one. That's a huge loss for Evans and we need darn on there. But yeah, yeah, exactly. That play no, I can't say that that was like malicious or him trying to trip him. It was definitely awkward looking though. So I kind of know what you mean in terms of not seeing something like that. But we need an ovi even injured whatsoever, so bizarre, because the guy's such a machine, he doesn't miss games. So you see him leave a game and you see him kind of keeled over in pain. It's like, wow, that doesn't happen to the Russian tank, but I think he'll be ready to go for the playoffs. Yeah, Torres motivated, didn't want to play it last few games of the season. Oh yeah, torn cartilage. Day to day with an upper body injury. I came across this stat. He's played a 96.7 of a capitals game since he joined the league. That's crazy. I don't know how you play the way he has and not missed more time. Bananas. Another note on the caps. I guess they bring it to you. Oh, the gas do tell. Oh yeah. Good call. Sauce cross it. The capsule apparently bring them back these screaming eagle logo for next season. You guys are fan of that. I think one of the worst jerseys in league history. Well, they brought it back for the reverse retro in the red and I thought it looked good. I just don't know what type of color scheme they're gonna go with. Wait, that Jersey didn't have Rhett. What do you mean? Oh, they put that logo with the red Jersey. They had, yeah, I believe it was the eagle that was on it when they did the reverse retro. I could be wrong. I've been wrong before. But I want to see the Colorado correct, you're correct. I don't know. Maybe it was just more about the colors I just like then. Oh yeah, see, I don't mind, I don't mind it there. It was more about like the blue and yeah, this is different. The reverse retro is pretty sweet. Yeah. So that's why I said RA about the color scheme. So I'm not sure what they're going to go with. So we'll see. And I always like a little bit of change turnover. We went from the coyotes, the desert dog on the front to now the kachina. I like changing it up. And maybe one day we'll go back to the other one. All right, congrats to Steve stamp coach. He's now Tampa Bay's all time points leader. Let's see he had a goal and two assists versus Toronto Thursday night past mighty St. Louis got 959 points and 918 games. He's first in goals, third and assist all time, and Nikita kucherov hit 600 NHL points, only 5 active players have done it faster than them. McDavid Crosby Ovechkin malkin and draisaitl. And Victor hedman had an interesting quote. They asked them about who he would vote for if he had a Norris vote, and he said he'd probably vote for Roman yossi, which I thought was a pretty interesting answer. And then we got a nice little clip there in the game. Pat maroon and Wayne simmonds, they were backing at each other from their respective benches, and then they ended up having a scrap, which you think of that scrap is. I thought it was great. I mean, tons of chirp and going on, Leah hextall was breaking it down perfectly. And I mean, just chaos. A lot of bad blood there. What do you think of it? Yeah, they hate each other. It could be very interesting in the first round. I just think it was amazing to ask Wayne simmonds if he's a soft player. I mean, that was pretty funny. Can you guys not agree with that? Gee, you're laughing. Well, I think maroon call him soft and that's why she was reiterating asking the question. Yeah, I know it's just like, but even from maroon to call him soft hilarious. Anyone calling Wayne simmonds soft. Either has no clue or just hasn't really watched. The guy's tough as nails. He's the opposite of soft. And to be fair, I mean maroon it might be one of the softer guys in the league if we're talking about like maybe like an abdomen standpoint. Patty, he's pointing to his belly, that's fuck patty. I mean, you got a bit of a beer belly on you. I like the look on you. You know, you need a little cushion. In front. Yeah, you need a little cushion for the pushing right rear. Absolutely. I mean, I have no ass, but yeah, in the bedroom. I don't think patty does either. He's just got a barrel on him. Can I ask you guys a quick question? Did you guys see them just laughing while they were fighting? Have you guys ever seen that before? They were Janssen was always laughing when he was fighting. But both guys? I don't think I don't know. I mean, we're not much of the statisticians around here or one for memory. So I couldn't tell you off the top of my head, but definitely. Laughed a lot. And laughed a lot, Louis fight in business. Yeah, he was a sick puppy. Yeah, he was real sick. You basically, if you get a couple sick puppies together, then they're going to be laughing while they're punching each.

"There's no tip put it on the put it on the Twitter. Gee, and I'm gonna run away with that poll just like I did with the vasilevsky sturgeon argument. Based on matchup, Edmonton Oilers. It's not about matchup, it's just about getting to the second round. That's all we said. You can't take the matchup for me is important in the fact that if Edmonton loses, it is pathetic, it is embarrassing, and they should blow it up. Yes, on a separate separate side discussion is more pressure to move to the second round is still the Maple Leafs. That's why I called you a Muppet. All right. With my pick our referee, I'm not sure what you want from me. Who has more pressure on them to get to the second round? I mean, I don't know, man. I mean, Toronto, there's obviously a microscope on it, but dude, I've been, you know, people wait for them to move along too. I'm not going to say. I think that's where the second round, like three years ago. They got to go on a run man. I know, I know. I think it's probably equal to be honest with you. I think it's a coin even. I think you can make a ballot. They're both under a huge amount of pressure. You're with wit. I'm very I'm very much with wit here. Okay. Well, Ari, I appreciate you being, you know, not biased about it and giving us a very level headed opinion there. Now, the best draw, you could ever. No offense to the LA kings, but the no doubty thing is monster. The worry I have is Jonathan quick just completely stands on his head, which is not out of the realm of possibilities. Johnny's a pizza? Johnny's a pizza. I think that if he were to actually steal the series, then you're looking at, all right, yeah, you gotta blow it up. They lost to the frigging kings without their best defenseman. But we could not have hoped for a better matchup and the way that we're buzzing Mike Smith looks phenomenal. The Edmonton Oilers, I think they got the number one PK since woodcroft took over. I was actually invited by the oilers to go up and really take in a game they were going, I was going to be the guest at the Edmonton. I was once in a while always in order. I can't make it. But I just imagine that barn rocking. Hold my advantage in the first round. They're going to come out of the homes the two games at home up to. They're going to split in LA and they're going to win in 5. This is a team that is on a mission. Their penalty kill like I mentioned is amazing. The guys love playing for woodcroft. I'm talking, I don't think there's a group of players in the league right now that love playing for their head coach more than the Edmonton Oilers. Maybe with Cooper and Tampa and granted two cups in a row, it's very hard to make the statement I just made. But woodcroft, it's just straight up passion playing for the guy. They've changed the culture there with a new head coach. They have Evander Kane playing like an absolute stud with 21 talks in 40 games. Is that what he's got? He's on another level. I mean, this team is actually finally turned the corner and become a team that if biz said it, if they don't get to the first round, blow it up. If I could just chime in here, I posted the Twitter poll and it has 1500 votes already and it's 92% Toronto 8% Edmonton. Okay. Okay. What a Twitter is the noise. Actually, you hang out. Wet hang out right there. I got a surprise for you, okay? You guys can Josh a little bit. I'll be right back. I gotta. He's gonna come back with a T-shirt. Coyotes, leafs, wild and like the Atlanta gladiators or something. Like it's one of his co teams. Okay, so Edmonton, the way they've played lately, it's very hard for me not to be super excited about them going in. I mean, all right, I got them in 5. What's your announcement or prediction? You know what? My pick in LA aren't you? You know, I have a future on them. So it's like, I feel like I gotta pick them and how do I justify it? Yeah, you mentioned quick, I could totally see quick out playing Smith. I mean, he's fought in some years old. I mean, he's one fucking pulled hammy from getting bounced out, then you gotta put Costco in. Oh, that's a whole different series. I'll tell you. I know they're missing dowdy, but these kids they've been putting out there. Jersey, this kid Jordan Spence, 21 years old, average in 1939, a game ice time. These kids are stepping right up and they're playing really well. Yeah, good luck with M Jesus. Oh yeah, but I actually, I wanted to ask you guys, if you're a LA's coach, who are you putting on McDavid, then I'll cope with that. To know, I think you know, because then you have kopitar focused on it. I think that's what they've kind of approached this season, yeah. Although the no has been everything and more than advertise his offensive game has flourished under the LA kings umbrella, like way more so than he was in Montreal. Now, going back to you, I know you're kissing God's green earth and counting your blessings at the fact that you got this first round matchup, but just in case you fuckers run in..

"To be in a hockey player. It's an art to take a hit. It's an art to get hit. Like it's a physical game. And so we started to sort of preach that. And then we got really lucky, Michael eisner became a huge hockey fan and he had a young son who loved hockey. And his young son wanted to play hockey. And the gist of the story was that Michael after all these games said, I want to own a hockey team. And so he said to me one night at dinner, I'm going to do a movie, the mighty ducks, and I'm going to have an NHL team called the mighty ducks. And I remember looking at him going, I know your Disney and I know you've done well, but the mighty ducks in the NHL because I'm telling you it's going to be huge. So timing is everything, right? And so Michael eisner coming in and then a guy named Gordon Gunn to him in Minnesota, moved them to San Jose and said, okay, I'm going to make hockey work here. And then Mario was in Pittsburgh and Bret hall was in St. Louis and hazer moons in Detroit and Mark Messi went to New York. And so there was just this perfect storm of not only these guys were great players, but they had personalities and they knew how to sell the game, and people wanted to hear what they had to say. And so the game just started growing, so I was one piece of it, but everybody had a hand in that. And that's what's great about our sport. Did you ever feel like you were carrying the game, not just the LA market, but will you call this in, okay, man, this could lead to future franchises in these spots. We aware that that might be a possibility. No, I didn't really think that much, although I will tell you this, I had a clause in my contract that if there was an NHL team within, I can't remember 300 miles of LA that I got a piece of it where I got a compensation for it. And I weaved it when the ducks came in the NHL. I said to Bruce mcnally, I said, you know, I'm not going to do that. But I did have it in my car. I don't even know why. In those days you could put anything in your contract, right? It was a wild wild. It was the wild wild west back then. So, you know, I never thought that way because Bobby orren Gordy, who I idolized both of them and Bobby Hull, they were always saying, hey, there's not one guy bigger than the game. The game is the game. Nobody's bigger than the game. So I never felt just that total responsibility. But as a collective group, you know, like messier and nicer men and the mu and so on, Holly, we all understood where we fit and what we had to do to try to even take the game to another level. I remember one All-Star Game in Philly, holy said to me, okay, we're not going to wear helmets in this game. I don't wear how many anyway, do you see my helmet? He goes, no, no, we're not wearing helmets. This would be good for NHL. And so I'll tell you the whole game with no helmet. I said, I'm not taking my helmet off. I'm going to wear that thing. And I don't need my dad coming down in yellow. Right? We've taken a lot of your time and these long sit downs can get even longer with if you got one more maybe, and then hopefully we'll make a rule here. The amount of years that we spend together at TNT, maybe each year we can get you for one hour. I'm fine with that, you know. My dad, my wife says that I'm like a garbage can you step on my foot and my mouth open. So I don't get a chance to talk to TNT. Yeah, exactly. He's the show. That was actually in my notes here, I said, we're going to do things a little different and I'm going to keep it short and sweet, completely unlike TNT. Not allow, that's okay. But are we going to talk about my lacrosse team at all? So that was the last thing that we wanted to drop the team name and drop the news at the end. Oh, we got a team name? I thought we did, I don't know. You mentioned how important it was in your development and once hockey would end, you would play lacrosse and baseball in the off season and you had the opportunity to be part owner in a vagus lacrosse team. They had not announced the name. We're going to announce it right now. Oh, we are. And you're dying to know what the name is. Yeah. You know before I do. Come on. I paid. See this whole job with you business getting worse. So you own the team with Steve Nash, Dustin Johnson is also a part owner. Any other names that we should show. So Joe sci when Josiah calls you take the call, right? He's a wonderful man and he owns a Brooklyn Nets, loves the cross, grew up plain a little bit across. I think college he played. And he has a passion for the sport, many called me and I said, absolutely. He really has a belief that this board is going to sort of be like soccer and that we can take it to the next level nationally in Canada and U.S.. It's a great game. It's a wonderful sport. And I'm so proud to be partners with Joe and Dustin and I and Steve are going to have fun. I'm not sure I think next year is our first game. I honestly don't know the name of the team. You know before I do? What do we got? So it's ironic because this is how I refer to the coyotes sometimes. It's going to be called the Las Vegas desert dog. Oh, I love that name. I be your hype man. Are they going to send you guys a bunch of stuff? You can come in and be like our Vince McMahon in between periods. I sold Wayne I'll do anything you ask as long as we get that one hour every year. It's good. Well, I'm glad I got to do this. I'll tell you one final real quick story when I started talking to TNT and the vote coming on TV and I was like, oh, okay, my kids are like, dad, you got to do it. And then finally I said, okay, I think I'm going to do it. And my kids were like, okay, you got to get Paul bissonnette on that show. Come on. Yes. So I said, okay, okay, so I called them and they go, we already have them hired. I told my boys and said, that's awesome. Paul's already been hired and my two boys were like, dad, he's going to revolutionize hockey on TV. So there you go. You guys. You guys and talking and aces is doing great. That's fun. It's a pleasure to meet you. And thank you so much for coming. I'm true honor. I'm so happy to be here. And as you can have mine. I thought it was going to be the Las Vegas wayno. I was going to go with Las Vegas. Mister wonderful. Thank you so much for this. The fans are going to oh, thank.

"We're sitting there on my phone rings. I'm like, who's calling me? 6 o'clock. There was Nelson scoby. And I'm like, oh my God, Nelson, I figured we're always calling me congratulate winning the cop, and he goes, how would you like to be a Vancouver canuck? What? I go, what are you talking about? And he goes, no, no. Evanston's gonna trade you. I'm gonna buy part of that team. I'll pay you a salary and you can own 25% of the Vancouver Canucks. I was Nelson. I just finished hockey four hours ago, 6 hours ago. I'm too tired. I'll call you later, and I hung up. So I'm sitting with my dad sitting there, I'm going, maybe you're right. So obviously this whole thing sort of started to transpire when Peter called me and said, listen, you know, because I only had one year left on my deal, and then I was an unrestricted free agent. And basically, we sat down and said, listen, you can trade me wherever you want, but I'm not going to re sign or I'm not going to sign up. So, you know, whatever they're giving up to you is not going to be worth anything if I don't sign. And so we kind of got to a point where I knew they were going to trade me, but I was able to control where I was going to get moved to. And it came down to LA Detroit, New York and Philly. And then New York and Philly kind of went away and we had sat down and we decided I was going to Detroit. And I remember sitting there going, okay, this is great. I'm going to go play in Detroit. I'm grew up in red wing fan and gordie Howell and everything that goes with it. And my dad called me and he said, listen, I'll give you a little bit of advice. And I said, okay, what's that? He goes, there's only one Gordie Howe. And Detroit's Detroit, you don't need to go there. Why don't you do something different, go to LA and so everybody thought sort of it was my wife that steered the train, but or the bus, and but it was really my dad who said, there's only one Gordie Howe. You need to go do something different. So that's really how I ended up in LA. I mean, I know we're running long here. We got to let you go soon, but I had a whole Hollywood list here, just like playing pickup basketball with Shaq, Andy Warhol painting. He's an icon. If there was like, I kind of wanted you going to detail about how you ended up meeting him and how that all came about because he's such an icon. They just came out with a documentary. It's unbelievable. Actually, his painting of Marilyn Monroe is going on auction to 200 million. It would be worth more when I die. I don't want to die yet. No, but I met Andy, I guess it was. Maybe we could make some NFTs out of it way. There you go. Here comes the boys man. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah, it was really intriguing. I really didn't know who Andy world was. Until I met him and I remember I went in this little office building and went up to the stairs the second floor and he introduced himself and we ended up becoming pretty good friends. He stood there and he took Polaroid pictures of me for about a two hours. And he said, okay, I got it. I had no idea what he was going to do, how he was going to do it. 6 months later, we were playing in New York and we did this event at a restaurant bar where we unveiled it and everybody went. So I think there's, again, I'm not trying to be a contestant, but I think Leroy Neiman and Andy Warhol only did four athletes that they both did, and that was one of the four, so that's a pretty nice honor for me. Because I really like both of them, Leroy was a good friend of mine also. And yeah, you know, I always tell people, you know, love the game and have fun and for me, everybody I met in my life and everywhere I went, everywhere I traveled, it was because of hockey. I mean, I got to meet the Pope. Pope John Paul, who's Polish. And I'm like, he's not meeting with Gretzky because I'm handsome. He's meeting because I was a hockey player. Thankfully, the Pope was an athlete. He was a soccer player. And the first thing he asked me was, do you speak Polish? And I'm sitting there going, why didn't I learn from my grandmother? So yeah, you know, the game of hockey. It's the greatest game in the world. I encourage parents and kids. I mean, love it. I have met Muhammad Ali down here being in the rockstar video with nickelback. I didn't realize that you were in the MC hammer too legit to quit video as well. I didn't even know that. Oh, okay, well maybe that was completely made up. It was a long weekend. And I didn't know I was in it. Okay, well, yeah, well, apparently that's what it said online. So maybe that's a liar. Or maybe they used a clip or something. Okay. But my singing skills was only directed me in the video I did for nickelback guys, but that was fun, actually. And then I guess the one funny story about how you ended up getting on SNL. And the reason I'm bringing all this up is 'cause like fortunately, you ended up going to LA because I even said today, if you don't end up there, I bet you there's no team in Arizona. I probably don't even get a chance to play in the NHL if it's not for you. Well, I'll tell you this about LA and this is true. When we went to LA, I remember saying, okay, we've got to change the culture or the sort of what people think of our game. And so I got in a lot of trouble over this. I came out and said, we should ban fighting. And the only reason I said it was at the time that if you ran into people in California or Texas or Florida at that point in time, they'd say, oh, I can't go to a hockey game. "Glen was like, you guys gotta learn how to be men, how to act, how to be proper and we're gonna stay right there and that's what we did. No kids gloves, almost just figure it out, guys. Yeah, and like I said, no. One rule. We go to training camp. I remember him sitting there and he'd go, okay, we're 65 guys here and I'd like to bullshit you guys, but there's one job open. You know, you can go to training camp. Coach would say, okay, every job's up for Glenn would go, I can't be as you guys. It was one job open. I don't know if it's going to be a checker, a grinder, a gold score, a fighter. You do your job in this training camp and maybe we'll find a spot for you. And that's kind of where you live by. So I remember one year we had drafted this kid, the old line, and he was a really good player. His brother somewhere, and he was on the brink of making our team as an 18 year old and I think that year we just won our second cup and the coaches and scouts and the GM, they'd sit up top rating, which skirmished for two hours, you know, and they would have one of the older scouts coach each team and read against white or orange against blue, whatever. And so cough says to several more order lane one day, he goes, hey, listen, you are really impressed to say they're muckler and Ted Greene, and he goes, yeah, yeah, he goes, I'll work the further that you work the corners. So this kid is going from corner to corner to corner and say they're usually set up there with his cigar, he never smoked it, but he just be holding it. Finally, you could just see him blows a whistle and he says, stop, stop, so he comes down and he goes, oh, what are you doing? And he goes, well, Paul told me to work the corners. Cough you stupid. He went back up to his seat and funny enough a Lyle ended up telling me to do that when I was in charge. His brother told him to check and get a young kid with this one. Well, that's exactly what happened. And unfortunately, he was right on the verge of making her team with such a good team that say they thought, okay, I'll send them down for one more year. He was only 18 and he went down and tore his knee like the second game in junior hockey and he was never the same. It's just crazy how things happen. Now I have to say the puts his team together. You guys are a dominant and a few years. Was it as easy as it looked out there? I mean, you guys, every night you must have thought you were going to win tonight every night, no? No. Listen, I talked about this a lot. There's so much parody now, right? There's so much more dynamic to the game. It's really, it's weird to see the Eastern Conference that 18 teams of solidified a playoff spot with 20 games to go. That's very rare, right? There's so much parity in the game today. But back in those days, we go on a 5 game road trip and we knew we could win four of those games because we're playing teams that weren't very good, right? And there was 5 great teams at a 21 ten good teams at a 21. Now, even the 26th, 2017, they're not as good as the top 5, but they're hard to play against, right? Like Seattle is near the bottom, but they're hard to play against. So it's changed in that sense. And yeah, there was times where on the other side of it also was, you got into this playoff mentality of, okay, if we're going to win the Stanley Cup, if we're going to go to that next level, here's how we have to play. And so I think that mindset came into play for us at an early age, and we were able to adapt to that. And obviously became successful because of me. I mean, we could probably spend an entire podcast just talking about Edmonton. I guess to summarize it all. And the four cups and the legendary teams, like what would you just say about what your time there before it came to an end? Incredible. You know what I was saying, first and foremost, you know, when I was sitting on the bench, I could look around the stands and I would see the same people at every game. And so when we go out on town and in those days there wasn't cameras and cell phones and all that. But we got old and we met all the people. We became friends with the fans. When we wanted to Stanley Cup, we were the first team to actually, I remember sitting there, it was Clinton. We won the cup. What do we do with the cup? And he goes, you guys want it take it. And that's how the cup started going out. Because in those days, the team would take the trophy up to the office and set it down and that's where it went. And I remember standing there with young Joey moss and my dad and Glenn said, do you guys want the cop take it? So we took it. All right. We had a reunion, I don't know, 30, 20, 30 years for charity, and they sold out the arena, the coliseum, and we had the Stanley Cup, and we're doing this chatting and talking. So I took the Stanley Cup and I started walking down the stairs and they had taken the glass off the board, so it was just a boards right all the way around so people could actually see. And I remember right about the faceoff dot, I handed the guy the Stanley Cup and I said, just pass it up and over in NHL, they were like, what are you doing? Trust me, so the Edmonton people are passing the Stanley Cup up. They pass it over, come all the way down, pass it over, and we went all the way around the arena. And I said, see, this people and everything. That's a nice there. They have too much respect for the game and don't worry about it. That is kind of like a yo yo. It's going to come back. But then on top of that, from the fans point of view on top of that, is the players themselves, you know, we talked about Lee, Kevin Lowe, obviously, was such a huge part, and some of the Hall of Fame guys, and then, you know, so many special players like Mark, you know, the thing about Mark was, you know, and they tell us the kids often, he was one of the first guys I played with that I could honestly say that if him and I walked out after a game and I scored three goals, he was genuinely happier than I was and you would think that he got the three goals. So his unselfishness was so infectious through the locker room and throughout our organization, and then we had characters, guys like David romley and Dave semenko, you know, Glenn wanted us to be our own person. He didn't try to mold people. He didn't try to change them. And like I said, we had one rule. Don't embarrass the organization. I remember guys, we used to practice 11 o'clock. Guys we get to the arena corridor to 11 and get on the ice and have you sitting there going, oh my God, and Glen will go the lungs are on the ice by 11. I don't care whatever it takes to be out there by 11. And then, you know, like I said, sometimes the guys would be a little bit late and I go Glenn. What time's practice today? He goes around 11. We want to eat in a row. So he was very he let the guys be themselves, right? And one time Andy was late for practice and slots was really hot that day and we're skating around. We're all trying to hide right because, you know, so many guys that they were trying to think, maybe he's going to miss Andy here. We'll get away with this a little bit. Maybe he's going to get here in time, 15 minutes later, Andy jumps over the boards and slash doesn't say anything. We finished practice..

"If Dallas wins pretty much solidifies the fact that they're going to get the 8th seed and then lose four straight to Colorado. But as far as other online shrapnel, I think all the other players are really dodging bullets and Jack Campbell seems to be our Jack Campbell Jack eichel seems to be taken a lot of it because he's gone pointless in the last four games down the stretch here. Now, mind you, everybody. This guy's coming off neck surgery and apparently he does have a thumb injury. But I tell you what, man, these sabers fans and I'm not getting into it with him. I'm just saying they love to keep piling on and piling on at the fact that maybe eichel hasn't lived up to expectations down the stretch. But let's remind everyone this guy came back from fucking neck surgery three, four months ago. Yeah, he's been playing hurt pretty much since he got to Vegas piss. I know what they haven't really announced it, but I'm not gonna say what I heard, but yeah, he's dinged up and you know I'm sure after the season he's probably gonna have to get. He's taking all the online shrapnel RA. How do you feel about that? Well, does that not make sense to you? I'm not saying I agree with it, but he's the big, they brought him in. It was like the big deal, the one of the biggest deals of the season. One of the biggest deals I can remember. And then he has to play well, yes, he's injured, but fans don't care about that. They look at production. And they look at the guys making the most money and then they blame them. So I'm not saying I agree with it, bitch, but I understand it, don't you? When a guy doesn't perform as a high paid guy, no matter what, you're gonna catch heat. Yeah, not that he deserves a Pis but I don't think people know he's just ding dinged up as he is. And that's why, you know, he's not putting the points up. He's not the same player. So I'm sure that all the same people sending me the memos. You just might just going back to Vegas like how everyone would hate somebody. It is funny how they go from the darlings of the league like Cinderella story and then three years later, people fucking hate him. It's like Vegas. Vegas in general just eats you up and spits you out. Exactly. Yeah, they got a 15.3% chance of getting a playoff spot per money 90.3 back at Dallas, like I said, the game tonight that's huge. Vegas needs to win that in regulation. Basically, they need to win out there last three games and they need some combination of Nashville LA or Dallas to lose a certain amount of games. They're done. I've been made to look like a fool for supporting these guys and trying to jump on their bandwagon amongst all the other teams I've jumped on their bandwagon hoping they were going to get that 8 seed. I'm betting against them tonight. I'm hammering Dallas. How are you? Hammering them. Probably two, two 50. Dallas is pretty pathetic as well. They might be the only playoff team that gets in with a minus goal differential. They have the islanders have more regulation wins than the Dallas stars. They suck. You're right. Colorado's gonna truck them. That's serious priceline might be -700. What if you bet it where they could end it in 5 games or less through your odds go up? Yeah. If you take you can't do 5 games or less, I don't think. I think you could bet what game the series. Yeah, what game the series ends in. So you could bet Colorado to sweep, and those odds would be pretty good. I wonder if those are, I bet you the Vegas, I mean, the Colorado sweep odds of Dallas, if they do end up playing each other, would be not even like crazy. Plus a hundred. Yeah. That probably not too big, yeah. I mean, maybe it's plus 200. 80 plus 200, yeah. Yeah. I got a couple of bombers in there. I got Nashville 76 to one and LA 85 point. I know they're going to have a couple tough matchups, but see what happens. 32 teams. Would you bet? How many did you bet to win the cup? Last year you had Ottawa. I got three alive right now, Boston Nashville and LA and I had several other teams that didn't make the playoffs. But Anaheim, Vancouver, teams that were like 200 to one, you know, just those types of fuck a lot. I don't want to, are we going to talk Edmonton LA later? Yeah, yeah, because we're going to save that stuff for the end. All right, hey, gang. You know when you're wearing a great outfit, everything just looks right in your confidence, is soaring. You could walk into a room knowing you on your a game. If you've been struggling with hair loss, Roman can give you that same feeling. Roman prescription and over the counter treatments have a discrete process from start to finish..

"Of energy and we need him at this point of the year. And then like you said, Friday, Emily Kaplan and Jesse grant, you both come out and said he's getting seasoned surgery. You know, he hurt his knee by first Philly, gave it all he could, but the body finally gave out. Then Dubois like those reports on accurate my knowledge, it was a maintenance day. I expect him to practice tomorrow. I expect him to dress Sunday. Then on Saturday, the team released a statement, which is unusual for a team to release a statement to say a guy is not going to be practicing taking a maintenance day. And then Sunday, he backed up Thompson. So that was that. And then today, Mike, you just sent me the tweet, he's getting surgery. So the ash closed that I'm down. So it's just been this whole cluster fucking meaning the other day he wasn't getting it and now he is getting it. I don't know, man. You wonder what's going on? Especially after they already gave away mock Andre flurry. They just got rid of a salary. They didn't even get anything back from them. They stick Elena, and then they just kind of fucking went Lenny. So on Thursday, on Thursday he told the team, he's getting shoulder surgery. And the doctor looked at him and agreed that that's what should happen, right? And on Saturday, then the team said, can you just push this back a day and back up Sunday? Because of cap implications or something. Citations, I don't really know exactly what that meant or if I'm even wording it right. But when I say chaos, there's no better description for not just the season, but the goaltending situation. And now, so what I read and what I can tell is the vagus fans hate the boar and they hate Leonard. It's like, I think they look at the fact that a lot of them still think gallant was completely unfairly let go. And maybe it wasn't fair the way it happened, but divorce had some success there. And then they look at the goaltender. They probably would have rather have kept flurry than Leonard. Now the issue being Leonard's got three more years at 5 million. And I think if you really dislike him as a Vegas fan because of kind of the antics and I shouldn't even say antics, but there seems to always be something going on with Robin lehner, right? I mean, he doesn't seem like somebody as quiet as Mark Andre flurry in terms of going about his business. Do you guys know what I'm saying when I say that? I just think sometimes if something's not to your liking, certain guys certainly hold it in a lot better than others. And he doesn't. He voices his opinion, which is fine, but ultimately, if it happens over time enough, you know, there's a lot of tension that does build and it seems like some you mentioned maybe some frustration towards Leonard from the fan base and also Deborah. There's also, there's also friction, but it seems between them. It seems big time. It seems. And once again guys, we're just going off of snippets and stuff and kind of the feel out process. Like, I'm not one to dig and ask that questions behind the scenes. I'm not an insider. But it's just been absolute chaos and I think that from a league standpoint and you already mentioned it easily and as well, the consensus is this is the most hated team and they've only been in existence the last three, four years. So a little bit more. Oh, yeah? Yeah. I don't know, man. You think so? Maybe this year it's closed people are getting sick of Vegas, but people hate the leafs. I was going to say about Leonard though, he has been injured all year pretty much. So in terms of worrying about the actual goal thing and his number since he came back from injury, which had been pretty bad, I mean, he's been battling through injuries. So he's able to go and he's getting the shoulder surgery and next year, I mean, you're going to get a healthy Robin Leonard, hopefully as long as surgery goes okay. So I wouldn't really worry about the type of goaltender he is, although I do look at Leonard and I kind of think of a goalie who would is a great tandem goalie, right? And not necessarily a true number one who's carrying the sterkin is the number one Georgia is a great backup. Whereas in Boston, say, I'm just thinking of teams with two goalies, right? You have swimming, you have all Mark. Minnesota right now has flurry. They have towel, but it's, I think of Leonard is one of those goalies. Do you know what I forgot Toronto with a cauldron in California? Well, I don't think you guys have a clue what's going on in Toronto and that. I mean, I wouldn't even consider that on a level of other teams goaltending. It's like, I mentioned. Okay. Fair enough. Yeah. Okay, cool. But it is wild to see the disconnect between a head coach and a goalie who is such an important part of the team where he's saying he's done for the year and the coach is blatantly going against him saying, no, he's completely fine. It's like I've never really seen that where either the team didn't tell the board that Leonard's getting surgery and that he's really injured or he knows and he's like, no, I don't believe it, basically. So it is a wild scenario to see how it's all played out. Not to mention the fact that they've been clawing and fighting just trying to get in the playoffs, which I think right now somebody said online, it's a 15% chance they get in. It would take a miracle for them to get in at this point. Well, everybody's listening to this on Tuesday. Biggest game of the year between both teams. Tonight..

"I would rather play in the Quebec senior league next year and have to fight George The Rock and Peter warrell every game that gets toasted and catch up and monster by Pinto Ron. Really? That sounds so disgusting. I don't even like mustard. I like honey mustard. Does it sound degrading to you? It just sounds gross. Just washing off and tasting it, it just sounds so disgusting. Better than mayonnaise. Male fucking vile is disgusting. Yeah, you think of that. What do you guys just mentioned the sandbagger? We didn't even say that. We dropped the last foot Wednesday. You guys want to get into the sandbag for a better what? Yeah, a hilarious kind of event for us. Joe Watson is one of the best guys ever. I think anyone who's watched it, they're now looking forward to when we interview Joe Joe has told us he wants to do it in person. So we're going to make that happen. I don't really know when. He was hoping we could end up in I think Vancouver this summer, which I don't think I'm going to be able to make. Smithers have smithers, smithers, for one of his events. But just a hilarious guy and then fridge is so funny on camera. He was getting super frustrated with you and I shit talking him, biz. And we had a big lead. I think on the 7th hole, he said, this is gonna be the easiest sandbag or win of all time. We won one up on 18. We had to we got clawed and I three putted from, I think, four feet on 16 to keep the match going, then we lost 17. So it's a great sandbagger. Check it out. I really enjoyed doing that one because of how funny Joe Watson was and how ridiculous fridge can act. So we want to thank them once again and please, if you haven't checked it out, go to our YouTube, subscribe to the YouTube channel and then watch the video and leave a comment. Let us know what we could do, could do to improve maybe the next sandbag. Are we going to get a few of those filmed probably in June and July to get some more in the bank to then drop them later on. We ended up having to cut it for whatever reason. We don't need to get into details, but I'm pretty sure that Joe Watson sent that guy over on hole three to hit me with that big bowl that I end up smoking. I was that might have been my worst sandbagger. I was not a very good teammate, but considering I carried the last two. Let's just call it a wash wit. And we won three in a row. We have won three in a row. We are a wagon right now. I think we lost four in a row. Was it three or four? And by the way, I think we lost two in a row. I don't remember exactly. People are like, oh, those guys aren't good at golf. It's like, sorry, dude. It was entertaining. It was funny. They're good people. So I really don't have a bunch of sticks to play against every time. I mean, I don't understand how people actually don't enjoy seeing bad golf once in a while. That's how 95% of the people who play golf play anyways. So it doesn't really matter how good the golfer is or was or whatever, if we're getting some decent content and funny moments out of it. So shut the fuck up and just toss it over to our YouTube channel. If Todd wasn't putting with a wood canoe, I think he would have been a good golfer. He made me look like Ben Crenshaw putting. He couldn't putt for shit. I don't know who that is, but I'm assuming it's a very gentle man. He won the masters twice. Many people consider him one of the greatest potters of all time. Old school guy, very old school guy. All right, we'll get to the hockey O one sec, but the best playoffs and sports are less than a week away. Spring weather is here and all those fun warm weather events are going to be flooding in soon. So you're going to want to make sure you stock up in the old pink Whitney because this is the fun season.

"And so three times they've done it. But the last one was great, man. That security guide breakaway speed tackled it. She had the fake shirt. Yeah. People are fucking wackos, man. Just let us watch the fucking game. Well, one lady what glued her hand to the court. That was one of the incidences. The first one, yeah. Somebody also in soccer, they put one of those zip ties around their neck around the goal post. Did they? Or maybe they should just have to be there the whole game. Take a ball. Yeah. I would actually be awesome. Okay, your punishment now is these guys are going to kick a soccer ball. 75 miles an hour and you can't move because you zip lock your neck to the post. And then after the game will have every fan come by and give you a slap on the face. All 75,000. What's a 5 figure state of the face? Stop. Boom. I played the 5th. All right, what did you get up to this weekend? You had to be up to something other than maybe watching hockey? Yeah, very quiet weekend again, man. I watched a lot of hockey, watched some hoops, just took it easy. I think I had one beer all weekend. Just relax, where it did some work. And yeah, I had her just a quiet weekend, man. Didn't get at it. Just kind of resting up. We get the playoffs coming. We're going to be doing the live streams. I need to have my energy level at peak performance and we get to New York. So I'm trying to save myself. Yeah. I'll tell you in the off weekend. He has one beer, but then when we're doing the live streams, he has 35. So I feel like he's like a Tesla. He's just got to recharge. I was trying to keep the sponsors happy bless, you know? Three week recharge for RA, the Tesla. What do you got, cornelli? I was going to say, all right, it's good that you're saving your energy because we are going to two episodes a week for the first couple of weeks of playoffs, the week of May 9th week of May 16th and the week of May 23rd, we will be putting out two episodes this week. Oh my, all the people who tweeted, why are you doing two pods a week? Listen, we need our own lives. Okay, what's got kids? Are you gonna go festivals? Not that I know. But we are. I'm on board with this. Everyone's why don't you do two episodes a week 'cause I don't want to. I'm not a two episode week guy. We talk about hockey pretty much. It's not that much going on, but when it comes to playoffs and the first three weeks of playoffs, we can't last year we kind of learned. We can't cover everything in one week. I'm sorry, one episode a week once playoff begins. So we're going to be recording Sunday nights and Wednesday nights and we'll be dropping to you on Mondays and Thursdays for the first three weeks of playoffs so you get 6 episodes instead of three and those three weeks and it'll be pretty cool because we'll be able to really dive in depth with all these games. I don't know if every episode will have an interview. One a week definitely. Well. But we're going to at least be able to really dive into what's happened in those three days as opposed to wrapping up everything that's happened in the week when playoff stories are just never ending. It seems, you know, it's going to be one of those things after the first two nights to play upset there's going to be 5 major things we got to talk about. So I'm super fired up for the playoffs and I'm super excited to actually do two a week when we have this much stuff going on. So I hope the fans enjoy that. I think it's a nice little step by us. And I was going to bring up with that next weekend, you're going on the trash bucket. I southern swing. Yeah, team trash. I'm a member of team trash with fairway falls. Check them on Instagram. We're looking for a three peat. So we're going down to the pine nursery. We're actually not playing pioneers. All the courses are booked, but we're playing mid pines twice. We're playing pine needles twice and we're playing southern pines once. All beautiful courses. I haven't played southern pines, but it's one of those things where there's 45 total points available. There's 5 rounds, each match is one of three points. Point for the front point for the back point for the overall. And if we three peak, we have some things in store for the celebration. So team trash is just looking to continue to roll. And fairway falls on the Instagram. He can rattle the other team. The Trinity. They all went to Trinity. They're complete geeks. So they all went there and they all team up together and then the one year, they won two years in a row, years back there singing their Trinity fight song is just the most pathetic moment I've ever seen at a golf course. So we'll hope to make sure that doesn't happen again. While also playing some beautiful golf courses and I looked at the weather, it's like 72 and sunny, the three days we're playing. So I leave Thursday morning. I'm back Sunday evening, and I'm fired up. And slam back a few P dubs on the golf course. Oh God, yeah, I got a bunch of the nips, nettie haven former guest of ours. He's got all these plans for the pink Whitney mixed with the high noon. It's just a phenomenal drink. Was it that way rig state for like 6 months during the early part of the pandemic? So we're staying at pine needles. It's the pioneers area, but we're not going to be a pioneer at all. But yeah, that's restated. All righty. Gee, we got some other news too. "Your fault. Like, you are an idiot and I'm like, dude, like first, I barked back. So I'm like, there was a detour. I had to drive on this side of the road. The whole east side river is closed down. And then the guy who hit me gets out of his car and says that the police officer is like, officer relax. That was my fault. I hit the kid. He had to go. He had the crosswalk, go. And then the officer was like, all right, I'm sorry, go ahead. Go on, have a good day. I got it all on video too. It's awesome. In fairness, if I'm a police officer, and I'm working a detail, and I see some idiot in a full hockey uniform driving on a bike, I'm blaming him a hundred out of a hundred times. I need a reason, just want to yell at him. He probably was hoping something like bad happened to you, but I don't understand how you got hit by a car. And then the car barely moving? Yeah, the joke. No, so what happened was I was coming down first ave and he went to take a left down. I think it was 51st and he thought I had the crosswalk go and he thought he could beat me and he just tried to beat me and I tried to beat him and I had the right away and he smoked me. This sounds like a collab of grind my gears with the bike lanes and all the driving. A lot of horns and everything right, all right? Oh yeah, I gave some fucking horns over the week too, baby. No flakes to 7 second horns. We have a special guest in a way in Gretzky I think everyone knows who's listening. Luckily you weren't wearing his old joffo because you're immediately dead if you hit your head with the hunt wearing the helmet that he had on. Yeah, I picked a great, great day to be full hockey equipment. Great day. Told the cops to relax, that's a risky thing to cop to relax. So you described another bet. So what do you have to do as the next consequence and what is the next bet? So the bet was, if I completed the trip, I think it was about 25 miles in under three hours and 15 minutes that ree would have to spend ten hours in the MoMA and write a thousand word book report. Why would he do that to himself? Not sure. Is it a popular thing that people call it the MoMA or YouTubing and complete do not it's called the MoMA. I didn't even know it was called the Museum of Modern Art. We'll find out online tomorrow. I got you G, it's people call it the MoMA. I've actually wanted to visit, I never been down there, but really. Rudy probably loves it. That's something he probably likes to do, so he makes it look like he does. He's already got it written. Yeah. Set up like three different dates in intervals at the moment that day. He's like one of our former guests getting papers written for him for crushing women off Facebook. Oh my goodness. You had a little trip to Atlanta once again, right? You had a little bow hopping, a little bab visit? Oh, no, no, we did that. We did a bottle signing. Oh, okay. Pink Whitney bottle signing at tower. Tower beer and wine and spirits, and it was great. We had about a hundred to a 150 people show up. We gave away a pink Whitney zamboni, Derek nesbitt, who just recently played in his thousandth pro game joined us. It was great seeing the fans got to go out with eat with Derek after. It was our final the next day on Sunday. It was our final regular season broadcast of the year with TNT. Great first year, you know, we're starting to get our chemistry. We're starting to really figure everything out and we're pumped to get into playoffs. Finally, no more of these regular season games. We're going to be in the real deal game soon here. And it was also a bit of a wild Sunday for me as I went for a workout in the morning. And I don't get too star struck for the most part. So I'm on the far left elevator to sue the elevator's door open. I see this guy. He's kind of half standing in the doorway, and he's got this blue black flannel over jacket on. And as I start walking out of the elevator, I notice that Jimmy Butler is right there. And Jimmy Butler pretty famous guy knew him as soon as I saw him. Big tall guy. The heater in town playing Atlanta in the NBA first round playoffs. So there was other guys too, but Jimmy Butler was the first guy that I noticed. So as I start walking around and I could just see the look on Jimmy Butler's face too, that he was like extremely engaged into the conversation and what was going on. So the point is as I rounded and got past the guy with the blue and black flannel jacket on, I started peering around and sure as shit fucking Denzel Washington. Is in the lobby four seasons hotel holding court with all the heat guys who are coming out of their meal room who are going right to the elevator. And they were all coming out in droves. As I was like walking out, it just so happened to be perfect timing. But right away, like all of them are stopping them and dabbing them up. I was more shell shocked. So I kind of stopped at a little bit of a distance, but you could tell they, you know, he was involved in conversation with butler to a certain degree where he ended up saying he was there because his aunt who had her who was a hundred years old had passed away, unfortunately. But in Denzel fashion, he kind of, as he held court, he explained, he said, you know what, boys, you know, I always said, you know, how do you make it so long? And she said, you know what? One day at a time, I wake up. I take a deep breath, I put both of my feet on the ground, I close my eyes, I listen for birds, and then I take another deep breath, and then I get on to enjoy my day. And it sounds like you know. Oh, maybe it was me in the weight room. No, but it was such a, it was such a Denzel moment and everybody around him was just so captivated by every word that was coming out of his mouth. And then as more and more people kind of started fighting towards the elevators, of course, word was spreading that he was around there. So a little bit shorter than I expected, but I don't, I would probably say, definitely top ten famous people that I would have wanted to. And when I say meat, at least seen, I never got a chance to go over and shake his hand, but still an unreal experience hearing him hold court for a little bit. I think I listened for about three, four minutes, and then ended up going to the weight room. So very cool..

"Group they had scored two power play goals in the stars propped up their playoff hopes by downing the capitals three to two it's nice to get some power play goals here because it's been struggling a little so it was nice to see that we we we got it going today and yeah it's nice to score but sometimes it is just can score it's tally less than six minutes after Alex so vets can tied it for the caps vets can join Wayne Gretzky as the only players with twelve forty goal seasons J. gotten you're protected the lead while Dallas was out shot fourteen to two in the third period I think you're finished with thirty six saves and Alexander Radulov also scored for the stars the stars one for just the second time in six games and moved one point back of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference I'm the ferry

"But we love singularly great performers one and only performers. Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan. Ella Fitzgerald. Uh, Frank Sinatra. You know, And you all have your own favorites, but We love Elvis Presley. We love singularly. Talented people. Who seemed to break all barriers. And are widely respected because they can do what other people have tried to do better than anyone else. And You know, you think about Bo Jackson. You think about Pete Maravich as a college player. You think about Bobby Orr? You know, there's so many Singularly great. Athletes. That we've enjoyed watching and when they come It's a rare treat man. It's a You know, it's a rare treat and Otani has reached that level with people. He really has And he is a ticket seller. And he is a buzz creator. And he is a juice guy. I mean, the guy that that has electricity and Charisma all around him. And he's fun to follow and fun to talk about and fun to watch perform. So You know, I embraced those athletes in any sport. That can make you say, Wow. I mean that That's what we talked about. For years now with Steph Curry. Steph Curry is a legitimate wow, a lot of nights. Lot of nights. He's wow. Tiger Woods was wow. And you just don't get Them every day. So selling Shohei Otani. Is real. You know, it's it's not like what we're used to trying to make us believe. That all this guy needs a day. Oh, he's not hurt. Oh, he's that. You know, we just is selling us all the time. We get sold over and over again and not just in the sports world. We get sold in everything. You know we're getting beaten over the head. Well, why we have to watch the Olympics, but that's their job. NBC's got a lot invested. The advertisers want us to watch it and NBC's got to find a way to make it appealing. So the ads have been numerous and they've been Blatant and they're doing their damnedest to make sure that we Fill our time during the couple weeks of the Olympics watching the Olympics, that's their job. But The nice thing. About Otani is they're selling us Otani. He deserves it. He is all that you're right. You're not lying to us. You're not misleading us. You're not trying to Uh, to pull the wool over our eyes. You're saying that's legitimate opportunity to watch one of the greats play and guess what? We agree with you. You don't have to twist my arm. You don't have to twist my arm. You are all that. Let's go to Ah Ben in Florida. Who just hopped on the line will put them up before the break. Hi, Ben. How you doing? That's good. Thanks for taking the call. Sure. Listen, it's you know, I want to make a comment about autonomy. I mean, obviously having a A great season. Okay, but you know he played two years prior was nothing out of the ordinary. I mean, he's not the first guy to have an exceptional first after the year. Except that he's a two way guys. You know, after he plays this whole year, let's make a judgment on this guy after next year when the pictures get used to it. The way he hits, okay and see what he does. Okay, because in the past guys who've had one tremendous break out year after that, they go back to reality and then just an average player. I don't know. Many guys like that. And none of them, Uh, pitch in a hit. So you can throw cold water on Otani all you want, and you can predict that. All of the Pitchers will catch up with him. And you may well be right, but go sell that somewhere else right now. And just enjoy what we have. You know, It's very hard Look, and it's it's very telling about people's personality. Right even last night and talking about Cole. Some people quickly jumped on Twitter. All boy 129 pitches. He's going to be hurt. They're going to regret leaving him in. Other people were just enjoying the moment. Sam wasn't that awesome. It's nice to see a bulldog actually out there. We're back into the 19 sixties complete game. Bob Gibson You know Jim Palmer, Tom Seaver. Sandy Koufax were back to you know, uh, Bulldog mentality and competing again. This is great. Others immediately worried about an injury. That's the difference between people and I'm not saying either one's right or wrong. I'm just saying that you can tell about people's personality. How quickly they either go to one side. Enjoying the moment or the other side. Oh, boy, you know, he just 329. I bet you he doesn't make his next start. And that's you know, that's the way the world works 855 to 1 to four CBS More of your phone calls coming up. This is CBS Sports Radio. Expedient knows what happens when.

"It's a seven year contract. That turner has now. And so i guess they got some other guys to. They've already linked up. Kenny albert as their play by play guy eddie olczyk in their ray ferraro is also going to be part of it. I don't know if that means he's going to cut back on his tsn duties or not. Brian boucher in. There's also an analyst and leah hextall female play by play analyst. So they've got a nice little stable already early in the game here but Yeah i'd say wayne gretzky he would probably be giving ron maclean a break today saying he probably shouldn't say that and always ri- steak you know cooler with that stuff. Don't let it happen again and we move forward and i think what you'll probably get steve. He until now at the same time gretz gets it. He understands he under. He's always understood his role. He's always understood what's what's expected of him. What's expected of people. What what the fans deserve you know. He he understands that better than anyone. He's always had a great knack. Great street smarts. Great you know. He always has so. I think what he'll be able to do. Steve is he'll he'll be able to point out mistakes. He'll glaring mistakes turnovers and stuff like that. But i think you're you're going to see it done in a way that that he'll explain why that mistake happened You know 'cause we all look at it and go you know the the overtime winner in fourth game edmonton and winnipeg giveaway. Yeah it was a guy trying to throw it around desperation times anyway. It was giveaway guy. Picked it up ripped in scored the goal. I think wayne would point point out that you know yes. That's a turnover. But here's why here's what the guy was trying to do. Here's what he's thinking but you wouldn't want to that again. That's kind of how. I hear the tone of stuff going with wing yup. He's not going to bury anyone personally. Guarantee guarantee he's never you know he's he's not he's not going to say this guy should be on the fourth line and not the he might. I don't know he might tune in for sure. Big challenge for them those stevie. No i agree. It's a big challenge. And i don't know that i know what to expect at this stage. He will have to go down that that milbury lane a little. A johnny miller thing not be afraid to say the odd negative thing where it where it's needed because that's you know that's kind of what the viewer demands and Certainly the doors wide open. And i mean the paycheck speaks for itself the superstar name the biggest name in the history of hockey. That's huge for tnt to acquire. That said it's not an automatic that it'll be a success. I think about joe montana for example as an nfl analyst at just ten out he was not good so there will have to be Yeah they'll have to be some performance from wayne gretzky if that job is to be something that he stays with long-term so we wish obviously you know what they're looking for stevie because of the recent experience over the last..

Strategy Execution Results: Get in Gear Sean T. Ryan -

"Pretty good year here. It's just gotta clean. It's gotta to be whatever the case and it just works all the way through and and it's just find brilliant so let's just go right into right right right. I gear right. That's the first gear right right right here. Getting the right right. Let's what is what is right right right. What is that first gear. How does it connect to strategy. Let's talk about that real quick. Absolutely right right right is about having the right people in the right roles with the right capabilities and and so you know the the idea that you can have a strategy but without the right people it's going to be really hard to execute and if people don't have the right capabilities It's going to be hard to execute that strategy Or if you've got you have good people when We we knew we. We knew that we had this opportunity. We had just gotten into Refreshment putting the m you know in the plastic bottle water you know back in like nineteen ninety four ninety five and we could see that business taking off at that particular point in time coca cola and pepsi. Were not in the bottled water. Business business was just too small right but we also knew that there was a at the time with with our with our growth. We knew there was a point in time at which they were going to jump into the bottled water business and we also knew that we didn't actually have the talent to be able to compete against them effectively especially in in our leadership levels. And so you know right people in the right roles with the right capabilities. We knew we needed to go. Recruit different people who fit our strategy number one and number two who were gonna fit our values and our values around honesty integrity teamwork building respect The that were absolutely critical to us providing the leadership to our team that we were anticipated. We were going to need to have that five now. We we didn't know it was going to be five full growth over seven years at the time That that really just kind of happened but it happened because we did get. We did realize we needed a different capability of of leaders a previously. We had hired talent Pretty much off the street. Just technical-functional talent technical-functional talents important but leadership capabilities were hugely important. And so we had to really re gear and rethink. Who do we need to have on our team. How do we go find those people. And then how do we recruit and select them to be on the team to get the talent that we needed to be able to enable that success. Okay so something you say in this book right. Nobody exactly this way. But i'm gonna say you hire to the values. I mean you you hired to the values you'd because i think it's so easy to do in and by the way i appreciate. How much of a big fan. You are michael porter. Because i love competitive advantage and so i love that about you Just one thing. It's not the only thing. I i'd love several things about you but i think hiring values is something that we don't do very a at least in my experience. Coaching businesses is that. Sometimes we try. We're so focused in hiring this great talent that we're not hiring to our values of company in nor do we really know clearly what the values are our company and us us a pretty great questions here. You know what we stand for what we believe. In what are the broad boundaries. You want people to play within enable us to execute a strategy. I think those are really fundamental questions that every business needs to ask right up front. I agree a hundred percent in the way. I would describe it a little bit. Jay is i think there's always a gap in an organization between where you are and where you want to be in. We talked a lot about obviously strategy to houston results. We're talking about the business strategy. How do we position ourselves in the marketplace to be successful but to me. It's it's really kind of that strand of where do we need to be. And how do we need to get their. What's that business strategy. That gets us to that as wayne gretzky would have said you know. I don't skate where the puck is ice skate to where the puck is going to be. That's that's really. The essence of strategy is skating delaware. The puck going to be the. That's the business strategy. But i think there's an intertwined strands of dna with business strategy which we call the cultural strategy. What's what's the culture of the organization that we need to have is going to enable us to execute that business strategy and culture starts with the values. What are we. Stand the the questions that you've posed there. What are we stand for. What are we believe. In what are those widest parameters that. We want people to play within. What were those are values and you know there are some that are i think they should be they. They may not be but they should be almost universal honesty and integrity respect and by respect. I mean deep respect Not just respecting respecting people for who. They are for the diverse. You know background that they bring to the table respecting them as human beings in and trust and trustworthiness i think are universal but but then there's some that can be particular to an organization based upon their strategy. There there are some organizations that have to be absolutely cutting edge innovative right constantly thinking outside the box and then there may be other organizations where it's not about the most innovative you know cutting edge bleeding edge organization but you have to have incredible continuous improvement. We're getting a little bit better tomorrow. And then again day after it again the day after is the key to success will depending upon those those valley. What you need to be successful does drive some of the component of the values of the organization right right and then that drives who you need to look for. Do you need to look for people. Who reminds her. Just you know. They're buzzing all the time and they are the cutting edge bleeding edge creators ordinary people. Who have that continuous improvement mentality. Control Your Own Success by Taking Advantage of a Global Economic Shift

"And you believe in and by the way i wholeheartedly agree with you that we are in the midst of a global economic shift can you expound upon this for fire nation. I'm going to share something. Tony said in the simplest thing but he said humpty dumpty broke and you put it back together in the same way and i sometimes like listening. We both appreciate tony baton partner dear friend but sometimes it's really deep what he says and sometimes it seems really simple but it really has more meaning is the world is completely shifted. And it's not going back to the way it was and what a world shifts that much when cultures shift that much when we go from in person to online virtual exponentially grows and technology from that continues to grow. We're not going back to the way we were. And that means there's a huge global economic shift happening and money is flowing from different people to to new industries flowing out of old industries into new. And i just believe that if we don't Wayne gretzky the skater. He's from canada. Originally played here in the states to one of the best skaters of all time hawking matter wherever you're listening in the world he was asked once Why he's so good at hockey or white. How'd you do so well or win another championship. He said some people unfortunately skate to where the puck was some people in most skate to where the puck currently is he said i got really lucky and figured out had escaped where the puck was going and i think if we don't observe that there's an economic and a global shift we're going to escape where the puck was aware it is and those that get to come out ahead are going to where the puck is going and that's why we'll scream for mountaintops. It's time to explore time to investigate. See were money is flowing. See what industries are growing. Where where. The revolutions. The breakthroughs the the category kings the ground swell the wave. And i think when you do that. It's not as difficult as you think. Because most people sit on their hands in times like these they wait for someone else to fix it and just like we're talking about if you wait for someone else to fix it. Someone else will own your

Breaking Down the Quarters and Semis for the KR Contenders Playoffs

"Let's dive into our predictions for I guess we'll do predictions and then matches them predictions and matches will go in order here. So first match. We both got right. Yep Yep whoop do. We knew that team B M was not up to the task against Wgn Phoenix, and that's what happened. W just think took the three one against them I. Actually yet the three one which is actually kind of surprising because. Outside of an absolute banger that will talk about a little bit later this was the only other one that didn't go three Oh. Team. VM being able to squeak out that one map made it interesting for all of seven minutes and then. wgn Phoenix was like Nah. We're We're. Shutting you down. Yep and that one map was Lee. Shang where we saw Sung Chan gets some key hacks onto as tax on the. Road at least twice I think. You kinda tried his best to. Negate as tech but as we talk about here in the next couple of matches. Stack is shown to be really solid like you had like I think one match that we watched last week or two weeks ago where I felt when it was from. But like there was some issues dying on Bussan but beyond that, especially in these playoffs matches really leveled up. So that team tried their best to try to counter him and they did on the first map but beyond that w kind of took off and really the only other thing that I noticed outside of that. They were playing real chaotic, not super super structured. Just looked discombobulated, and then you get over to a new business and protect literally holds onto his grab for like foil. Yes and it's like there was there was a bunch of times where he could have used it. Either defensively to save some of his teammates and extend the team fight or initiate with an potentially win team fight and Nope, he just sat on it and then when he did use it, he threw it to lake. Horizon Lunar Colony I think because it just went nowhere got nothing and then they just got absolutely destroyed. Yup Listen to Wayne Gretzky protect you miss one hundred percent of the grabs you don't take so. You just gotTa. Do It man you just got? To. It's also a Hawker reference or an office reference depending on what what realm of the world you're in. The other thing too is like every minute that you're not using a graph building. You're not building graph and like if you hold a grab for like three minutes, you could've used a grab that it was like okay and then had another grab by basically the same time So. Yeah it's it's tough and like if you don't have the opportunity to use a grab at all because they're diva is constantly all over you and you don't have the counterplay or they're playing way to spread, then you probably should go on something else. That's better. Pick anyways and use the grab throwaway goldfish swimming dvr, go switch Sigmar anything else. There there's been a lot of issues that we're seeing a lot of the losing teams. They're. They're just like kind of shooting themselves in the foot with like playing what they should be. On the other side man wgn. Phoenix Lake after watching this match. I got really high on this tangle. Especially, ABC Z. Bag has been. Okay. But Gables specially was. Studer Pitt where you saw pack jump up, get damage onto. The Echo over the ACA was even. On. Haven, yeah then. He drops down back behind the cover again, and then you saw gable see right behind him come up boost up finish off the damage and then go back and then Win So comes up to resum they both dive a again and kill him as well. They open it up with two free kills and literally just roll beyond that. So I think that like one of the things especially it's been the tank line coordination for this team. In another team, we'll talk about later. Like it really sets these teams up apart like with the DP s with the one diver as well with the tanks in the one dive deep. Yes as well like. If, you have three people hive minded together you you will find success in grin contenders. And then another name on wgn that you're going to hear. US Talk. A lot absolute tyrant about is ace. When ace is on? The Sambre. Do builds EMP's insanely quick. But then on a newbies, they push team B.. M. Back to the spawn. And then they're like, you know what we got like a minute and a half left we're just going to go sit in front of the spun. And s just sits behind him and mainly heck's the supports like one clip supports drops an EMP. Like gets half of the team just absolutely bullying the back line of Team B, m on a newness and. Team B. M. had no response to ACE's play when he was running the sombre. and. It's super unfortunate that like he's only played this one pick at least what I've seen so far Inoke s on the hog. So good is unmatched in cream contenders I think I, think he might. Only, backed by MAG. But we'll see about that. Hit like he just every time like he forces other people to not play against him because he will just out a out mechanics them out strategy them and like just knows how to play better gets incredible. Pickoffs especially on Havana you saw him on the hog and Gable soon, the sigma they full hold team b. m., there as well So, like this tank line. Alternating CPAC and iino cast depending on whether or not. They're gonNA play the Winston saw shrine oranges run the Road Hog quite often because I think this was still on the playoff patch or like the wwl. Finals Patch. It'll. It's as strong three players on that team like they. Really. Really benefited from there, strong line here and gables the again like we talked about his diva being incredible signals also incredible as well during the scrappy last minute fights where there was a chance that team b. m. was going to be able to. Squeak out the first point actually cap it. he just stayed alive sustained had some good old good rocks Just good play and I think got like a couple of kills here there's also. You're going to start seeing a couple of these names come up next week when we talk not only about Plants and stuff like that but also on recommended. Pickups for teams in the off season because. Couple of teams might be going full Korean here and. There's a lot of new blood that's rear and to get some Odell time in. So I'm excited to see that I actually can't wait to talk about that team that I think is going full Korean 'cause. It's GONNA be interesting to try to put together. A bunch of players out of Korean contenders to slot into that team or and see how close we can get to actually hitting the. the mark on how many people get pulled from creon contenders.
