"I didn't really expect either of them to ever qualify for the WTA finals to be quite honest with you. She's showing she's got another level, another injection. Yeah, I agree with that with that comparison players who don't have bad losses who are very consistent, but you feel there's a limit there. And they don't win that many titles. Certainly, I think had only previously won one in her career. And as you said, she's won four in the last ten weeks, I think. It's an incredible run of form. It's reminiscent of what svetlana kuznetsova did in 2016 to knock konto out of the final position. Although that was later, I think wasn't contour in the official photos for the WTA finals. Yeah, because that's of it did it by winning Moscow. That's right. The final of which was the day before the WTA finals in Singapore, of course, so finals day, Moscow was draw, draw and photo shoot day in Singapore. This was the only way cultivate was going to get in. You know, she had to win back to back tournaments in these last two weeks. And for her to do that, she just seemed on a mission. You know, she just seemed more determined to get to every ball to hit every ball a bit harder. There was this there was something extra about her in these last two weeks. She's been not only has she been winning. She's been winning easily. I think she's won 30 of her last 31 sets indoors, 15 match winning streak indoors. It's incredible. She was about a thousand points behind on shiba in late August. And she's now overtaken her. Some cracking Twitter activity from monster bear, though, in response to it, and first of all, just congratulating her and obviously she's devastated. What a love about the two of them is how positive the spirited they've been towards each other well meaning and a little bit of Mickey taking as well. But really nice vibes between the two of them. And the biggest thing of the lot is just how much it means to them. How much they desperately want to be there when conservate one match point. It wasn't just I've beaten Simona Halep and won this tournament. I've qualified. You know, you could see that this was a career moment for her and the same Francis hearts breaking for her a bit because she looked like she'd made it, and she probably she deserves to be there as well. I mean, she said I'm going to go as an alternate. But yeah, she must be devastated. So the lineup now is in a sabalenka carried in the Pliskova, ygritte film tech bubble or critique of a Maria Zachary garbine mega ruther pala ba dossa and Annette conservate. So yeah, it's a strong old field, even without Naomi Osaka, and ash bhatti, who are not going to play. Three of the four Grand Slam champions this year, not their ash party, amaretto and naming Osaka, as you said, and yet the field is still strong. The cheeky face propping up all these fields. She's just loving life and making the most out of it. She did not see any of this coming. Which is great. Well, I suspect more of it will be coming our way in the future. She's that good. A few other results, the WTA event now Catherine, you might need to help me with the pronunciation here, both you referred. Is it cornea? Call my right. That's in France. I understand. No, it's in it's in Italy. Nearly. It's very near to France. I saw the word Mont Blanc when I looked at that, but yes, it's that bit of Italy that's near France and near Switzerland. Close, Dave. Good try. Run by Donna vekic. Got that bit right. And she won her first title in four years beating my fave, chlora Towson. But Donna Vic it's one title. So well done her. The ATP tournament in Vienna was one by Alexander's Vera of beat Francis tiafoe, who was, I mean, he was the story of the tournament from what I was watching in highlight foreman, Twitter. I didn't watch full matches over the course of the last week because I was away. But beat Stefano sits surpassed Diego Schwartzman and Yannick sinner to get to the final. And the Tennessee produced against sinner was just ridiculous. There's a two or three minute highlight reel that the tennis TV guys put together. We tweeted it from our account. And I could just watch it over and over again. You know, see if I may never play a better sort of highlight reel than that. And yet he probably will, because he's just so exciting and he's I do feel like he's shown an upper level that's higher than I ever thought he got. Is that fair? Would you agree with that or not? It was interesting. I saw you tweet that. And I think personally, I've always felt that he did have a high upper level, just thinking back to when he played Roger Federer in the first round of the U.S. open on the Arthur Ashe stadium. I think four years ago and he was electric that night. You know, he sort of built for that big stage. And I've seen him beat Stefano sits a pass at Wimbledon this year, and he just took him apart. I think for me, I've always just doubted whether he can do it week in week out. And the grind of it and whether his whether his lower level is high enough, I suppose, and just to get some bog standard wins. We know he can do the fun stuff. But I must say, I suppose what I saw from him this week was even higher than I've ever seen. I thought he was absolutely incredible. I couldn't believe my eyes watching him against Yannick sinner, the his serving was fantastic, but also the variety he was playing with. It was really really smart as well, because it seemed both instinctive for him, but also the right thing to do to take sinner out of his baseline rhythm and TFO was coming to the net and injecting pace and then also just having fun with it, you know, high fiving people in the crowd and hitting tweeners and it was the full package, and I was all in and I thought I thought he was fantastically entertaining this week and combining it with winning tennis as well. So it was brilliant. I think that coaching relationship with Wayne Ferreira is really working. I don't quite know, I don't quite know. How, you know, we don't have the insight into coach player dynamics that we do or used to do with the WTA Tour. But, you know, we know Wayne a bit from the champions tour, David, he's a very amiable, easy to get along with guy. I think his I can totally see how his energy works with Francis TFO and there was there was a piece on the ATP website about their relationship and their dynamic and the headline was how for Aries helping TFO walk the fine line between fun and focus. And I think that's his career, isn't it? Because, you know, there's just no, you know, we all need to have learned from Monfils. And there was just no point in trying to put a square peg into a round hole. Take away the fun,.

"He put it down to just the adrenaline the the adrenaline that makes him. Such a dazzling thrilling dramatic. Watch in a in a in a competitive match. Also has a has an after fact. There's almost a hangover from it has big surge and then it's all too briefly on and he said the wayne ferreira taffy fitness coach had devised drills specifically designed preventing that from happening in the off season. They they trained him to the point of exhaustion and then made him play an extra set. I mean it's not panned out t- well tonight. Because he has a second set. Sixty two to phoenix. Or jared seem but i just reading. Apparently frontiers was all for it. Just i'm all in on this. Which if someone's may right. Today's agenda exhausted. It's exhausted am then ask you to do something on top of that. Which actually exposes precisely what. I'm doing right now with this. Yeah anyway. I just find that very interesting yeah Against out alcaraz against felix jared se with with all radio being the elder statesman. Yeah you've already used the changing of the guard that was supposed to change the guard matt's if potentially essentially got two days come up with a new one. I think that'll be interesting for you. Know everyone really but what was. Your earliest seem has always been playing up. Often eggs categories. We compare him to sit surpass and medvedev and even her a module and obviously he's you know two or three years older than alcatraz. It's a similar age gap between them. Yeah it's just not the sort of match up. We've seen or israeli seem that involve with because they just aren't that many players younger than yeah it. This much has a long way to go really feels like as long way to go and it feels like it's entirely predictable that this match is going to be a very very long undulating epic one which are no made this point last night but makes it with making again again. Makes it so absurd that margarita and critique of our sheduled lost on this authorized stadium after this off this men's match. I think disrespectful. And i i think the football bora critique ver- throughout the tournament so far has been disrespectful. Frankly and i was very pleased to read today that she thinks it's disrespectful as well. She didn't quite use that word. But so often when this when this happens it's happened to venus. Wimbledon has an and she's she said you know with a knowing look in. She said licko it's wimbledon. I love it. I play wherever i'm scheduled. But but bourke jacob said right now. i don't feel the even after all that. I did and all happening. I still don't feel that. Tv wants to see me or the tournaments. Want to see me. I don't know why it doesn't really matter. I just want to get to that point. Where i'm going to play my first round on a huge cool and there will be people want to see me all. Want them to be entertained. And to the best show for them. I'm not at this point yet. My motivation is not winning or losing. My motivation is to get to this stage. Will if i was doing the shedding bob. Ori- word that point the french open champ. Yeah absolutely any play. An extremely watchable brand of tennis and i was. I was pleased that she said that. I'm pleased that she feels that way. But i'm also heartbreaking fund. Found is really sad sad comment. Yeah me too Should say. I think that's in a new york times piece With them rothenberg. Those quotes from. yeah it. it is sad because just as you said. She's already done enough to merit top billing at grand slams not probably always the center core. Because there's so many players who who married that but she was out on court in like thirteen i think one day she was scheduling on the same court as Casper route in there were sort of putting her on that level. Well it is the same seeding but it is not. It's not the same. No exactly you know so. It is sad. But it's as you said. I'm i'm pleased. She's kind of honest about that. And if she can use that as soon evanger motivation and good for her. And i'm sure some may the case will not many people knew he. She is berber. No one's gonna know who she is. He keep sticking circle thirteen absolutely or on in the middle of the night. Say yeah give people a chance to get to know. And see the tentative bob or critique of they'll be all the better for it the winner of that match between critique for murga retha we'll play arena saba linka. He's having disconcertingly serene progress through this. She's now of course the top seed remaining with party going out She liza mertens today. In into straight-sets pretty unremarkable unremarkable. Matt she does have mertens measure obviously her her longtime doubles partner. I i still think they played together. Occasionally butt settling has taken a step back from from double says. She makes herself available and when she doesn't mountains plays with suez shane wimbledon. Say it's all good for mertens on the doubles front but yes salamanca. It's is is this. The change in her grandson level has wimbledon has that breakthrough at wimbledon. Getting the monkey off a back changed her. Or who is the has. Just been deferred. I don't know it's tough to say it's a very different route to the one. She had it when. I think what i found so impressive at wimbledon was she was winning tight matches or max's where she wasn't always playing her best which had really been something she'd struggled with in her career generally but particularly at grand slams whereas hair. She's so far seems to be in the sort of mood. We saw her in in madrid earlier this year where she's just sort of crushing. Everyone and i do think her game on these. Combs is pretty fearsome. You know we always say wuhan with sabah. Lenka she's thinking of space to say we handled only wimbledon feel weird about you know that's traditionally quick tournament isn't it and she thrived there and so far she's doing the same hair Yeah we were speculating. Early went me about how she would feel about being sort of on paper now the favourite for the for the title and we veered between saying she really struggle with that too. She won't even notice that. And we both concluded we don't really understand arrhenius abilene in an kind of wonderful ways. Great that she's so unfathomable. But i really. I don't understand the workings if our brain well enough to to to confidently. Say how she would do with anything. Really but she will face the winner of margarita against critique. The shedule for tomorrow is. I don't It starts on the author stadium. With alexander's various against yanic cynic and senate challenge verbs. Verbs looks very good to serve is a huge weapons sinner. Played five days ago against my face. Yeah i i think he can. I mean he won. The last grand slam match Their only grand slam match the french open last year. I very was ill that day. If i remember correctly it was a day when he took to the court with covert symptoms. And the whole thing. very dropped. The opening set against jack saw.

think it was last week about last Vegas in the mob yes you know I really you know we found it hard to believe I mean extremely hard to believe Morgan when he said unlike movies on TV there was never a single mob killing and last Vegas much less Nevada of a mobster killing a mobster he would know I just what I heard him say that I thought oh oh gosh I just well he may I just can't believe that Bugsy Siegel we all know I have a hit on him but he was at a residence in Beverly hills now that the technicality he was a Vegas personality but he was sharks well at someone's home and I think was his home in Beverly hills well you know what that what he serves you know about no mob mob killings unless Vegas of not that I know they wanted the the smart mafia guys they wanted they didn't want any killings you know well they want to buy a bigger is to be a money maker no killings but what he says like falsifies everything you saw in the movie casino the movie casino was based on fact not fiction box and let's be honest some of what we saw our took the facts to extreme in that movie I mean yeah I mean because when you watch that movie I can't believe that there was you know I mean I like to try to stay level headed here but I can't believe that they're even when you watch that movie I can't believe that there was that much much killing in Las Vegas when the FBI started to close and I just can't believe that the and then this guy so there was no killings at all and so well this is an arm the last Vegas book club a gentleman I think you still there Howard Swarts in he would be able to answer that question so hello you can call there and you can get him on the phone and ask that question Howard swore shorts yep March sure would Swarts yeah I was taken at Morgan but I was too embarrassed to bring that up but by the way Morgan I called you a couple of weeks ago and your soul gear calls up right after I call you and he says you know it was me and a woman before me in this old geezer called you up and he says well you're there are still callers there were a lot of trouble weren't they you know I said nine times and I thought what are you talking about where a lot of trouble you know I said no I don't know where they're coming from you have never been trouble hello thank you Morgan I really appreciate that okay but like I said I don't know every time you turn around these guys are dead so I don't even know if they're both still alive or not I will endeavor to check and one person who might know is MEL Simon's there was a a big time huge killer Kowalski used to use now furring announcements in this corner blah blah blah and Mel is gonna be the first place I go to seek an answer nearly arrests we're here in the Midwest Morgan that went by the last name of Kowalski his name was Stan Kowalski otherwise known as the big K. and and I think he wrestled there on the east coast where anywhere and east coast there was known of of Carl Colfax okay that name sounds more familiar so I made by a boy he were via it was a member of the original tag team called murder incorporated okay and but I would I would you know I know I know it's not on the level Morgan I know that before I would I would put him up against your killer Kowalski any day well but it's too it's too late now though anything else here no I was just so rare that I get to talk to you "The Bryan brothers plane tomorrow on the order of play for tomorrow is out and start Sophie finance Daska against Neo Medvedev that's at midday sent school than the defending champion Chile against. I think we're going with clay-court'specialist Christian. Garin. Gross this week. But yeah I'm still definitely putting him in clay-court'specialist category. Then camera Nori Kevin on fitness question. Marks Kevin Anderson real unknown quantity, but he's not play since the Miami open in March, and then juceam against qualify, James woods. He beat gonna Swaran yesterday in the first round be call today to qualify, which is a no four hundred years old. But that is a heck of a win. Also debate about the mix, you said thirty two players in the queen's drool men's singles. How many are in the may vary tournament director says the rule in the role in the mix? Well what he's done there. I mean, if there's any drew in tennis, where every play could possibly be considered to be in the makes this is, However, David went a step further was picking people from qualified to the makes and one of those evoke college and I said. Mix mockery of the mix is not a free role. Now, nNcholas MMA who in the mix qualified, but he's not in the me finalist. These I'm, I'm making your gifts that David might be inking had he not ashed off to be important somewhere form. Former finalist here. Mix in the mix. Maybe in the devils mix. Not here. This, you know, he's playing Russia Vassallo another double Frenchman. So where are we drawing the line with the mix? I, I feel extremely strongly that Dan Evans is in the mix. I would agree. I mean he's on as we record. I think he's on eight hundred nine match winning streak. Having won Surbiton backed up by going well in Notting. And I think that I think you're right. I think that's a worst drawer full of ring entities. Evans mothering who's added Danny valve due to his team for the gross something. He's done. Yes, not worked. Yes, Donny, the bar is low exactly beating down evidence would be that That would would be. be really good win. Really big win. He's horrible Jews here in the post has had curious. I can't quite remember who we had lost, but really difficult drills query, I think some query champion. So. Yeah, and Wayne Ferreira has joined the team Chile Chile. Yeah. Nine thousand nine hundred. Defending champion Marin Chile in the day because. He's a really interesting proposition at the moment because he's defending champion he loves it. This is why he's probably played some of his best tennis. He's had this awful twelve months really feel like it will started Wimbledon last year and lost in the first round after going in pretty much second favorite. Maybe even after winning the title hair feels like it's fooled into parts of it relative to, to his high standard. So I was he, he seemed well, he, he said that thing about, you know, whenever he gets on the gross acquaintance. He feels the history of the place. And I think as you said, that's important for him because he's such good history here. So I think when he's saying that he's talking about the good feelings that he's had hit before as much as the history of the, of the tournament is kind of you feel it when you're on site us you. So you'll the Roosevelt and the great big posts that working on at now on the side of the court has Jimmy Connors and stuff. Stance myth, you this much history here, and it can be inspiring I think and chill each as much as anything. He sees he's, he sees himself, lifting the trophy and last year lifting the trophy on his own terms with such big.
