"I like some of today's music, you know? I like some of today's artists. I like future. You guys like future? White people are confused. It's a rapper. You are what we call the future. Sure, I love the future. I'm looking forward to the future. I'm so sorry about the past, you know. The whole slavery thing, I'm sorry. Future is a rapper, okay? And I like future, but see, I listened to the lyrics and I think that future, this brother need rehab. All his songs, he's mixing some kind of weird drug combination. His new song, mask off. He's mixing Molly with percocet. Look at this a bad drug combination. You're trying to kill motherfuckers or what? You OD in the car listening, this nigga album. What is the drug culture going in hip hop? It's one thing when Dr. Dre did the chronic, you know shit, we all smoke a little weed. Yeah, right? Yeah, some of us sell it, right, nigga? But Molly and percocet? And that's a hit song. What's the next hit song from a bad drug combination? Crack cocaine in baby aspirin. That cocaine and baby ass man, we gonna chop it up. We put it in a cup. Crack cocaine and baby aspirin. Don't be crazy. Give it to your baby. Crack cocaine. But at least I understand the words that's coming out of future's mouth, right? I understand the lyrics. I understand what he's saying. Now, can somebody please be kind enough to tell me what in the entire book is designer saying in the song panda? Who the fuck gave buckwheat a record deal? Like, I understand the first lyrics, right? I got broads in Atlanta. And then this nigga lose me. I'm from an affirmative funnel. Legacy panda. Black car looked like a panda. Okay, nigga. So how high were you when you wrote this fucking song? Like, how did this happen once you're in your house? You had a party that was girls over, you know, you smoking weed, got paranoid and shit and started hallucinating. You came out your house. He was like, I got broads in a letter. It's flipping up. White legacy Banda. The black car. It looked like a panda. You know, when I first, when I first heard this song, right? Someone walks by me, the boy's not even saying lyrics. I don't know what the fucking he walked by. He just making noises. It's strange sounds. He walked by me going. I pulled his mommy to the side. We called the doctor. I thought this little nigga had Tourette syndrome. Throughout the entire song, designer is screaming. That shit sound painful. That sound like the inaudible sound that you make. When you go to take a piss in the middle of the night in a dark room and you bust your toe on a piece of furniture, that ain't got no fucking business being in the bedroom. But your girl thought it was cute, you know what I'm saying? So you go to take a piss, and you be like, oh, shit. And your girl wake up, knowing it's her fault. She put the shit there like, you okay? No bitch I ain't okay. What the fuck you gotta go there and treasure chest and the damn bedroom phone. The fuck are you a pirate? What do you mean that noise? That's the sound I make. If somebody was to wax. This part of my asshole. You know that weird meat between your ass and your balls fellas. It's a weird little area because they look like they should be a vagina there. But God was like, come on, you can't have a pussy in a dick. So that shit up, Jesus. Okay, dad. I got them. Weird scraggly hairs on it. The hair don't go right there. It's all scraggly and sparse. But it lay down. It looked like LeBron James hairline right here. But if your hair is real nappy and shit, it looked like Kevin Durant's. But it's so weird little area there's no place, right? Because it's real sensitive, right? It's the part in your body where your girl lick fellas, right? And it feels really good. You make you make all kinds of little weird tickly noises. Like, it feels so good. You mean making noises like a white girl and a lesbian porno. You beg all my fucking got fucked. Fucking Gucci. Like my fucking gouge. But you know when she lick it, you feel a little bit gay when she do it. You be conflicted like, oh my God, check my ass here, suck my dick, make me straight again. Go back down, link my goo. She licked the tank, come back up. Make me straight again. Okay, listen, don't tell nobody, okay? You promise you ain't gonna tell nobody? No, I'm not 'cause when you get mad, you just be saying all my fucking business. You promise you ain't gonna tell nobody. All right, I'm gonna trust you. Here go and get all that good. Oh my fucking God. Get my fucking gooch. Fuck yeah. Hold on, get the dick too. We call that the doberman picture tail. Well, if somebody was to wax that part of my asshole, I'd make that noise. "It's a hard sell dude. But i'm trying but i love it. I love it. that's to me. The the only problem is like a lot of people. Don't have that experience with alzheimer's show but my dad is very sweet right now. And i know it's gonna get bad. I know he's probably he's difficult with his wife but with me it's all very you know he knows what's up also like that type of stuff. It's hard to deal with. But i mean we have a sick family. We always find funny. And what are your people. Die of My mom she had diabetes and until eighty something right. Yes that's good was it. Life right sees the strong black woman. Diabetes woman had ten kids before anesthesia was. No anesthesia's is give me. That wallet passed a while in the whiskey. Do you all you guys. Get along other siblings. Yeah mother's I've a close relationship with each one. Yeah that's good. Are they most of them out. Because they have all choked me at some pain in my life the one yeah you're the would keno little scared of. Because he spanked me. When i was like ten he kind of stood in for the old man. Sometimes my false for me too but he kind of doubled up on a little pissed off at who passed him over they just past year around. The spank are being the youngest man against fucked up because most those no everything here. We don't hide everything had one point at damon's fucking sneakers keenan's pants and my father's underwear on like nothing was my and and i'm the but every joke there's the name of the special. "Comedy. Because i know how difficult comedy is. Yeah fucking acting dramatic drama. I do that i was. That's what i went to school for. I didn't go to school for comedy. Yeah school for dramatic. I grew up in comedy. I grew up in in comedy clubs. I'm here sam. Kennison and you know richard richard and i saw richer performed in before the wheelchair though. I seen him perform in the wheelchair. Yeah yeah but like i. When i was a doorman i saw him before he got sick. You lucky tower that it was intense man because it was a weird night dude and like he didn't come around march so i'm adore gay. There were eighty seven. Eighty six eighty seven ish. And he's just aren't coming back around. It was after he burned himself up and you know and he was vulnerable. You know but he was always vulnerable. You know and i remember watching him one night and the original room and he couldn't get a toehold in you know there was some there's some people in from i remember it specifically. There was a band. There was some women there who recognize some people who are in a rock band like cinderella or something they were in the room and and they were talking there. I go my god. And richard couldn't get a handle on the room and i just watched him struggle and i was like what the fuck is happening but you know he was just trying to get back on the horsemen but imagine being richard the biggest star in the world. And now you're coming back to little smoky county club. Always great and it was amazing. You have but it was his aim. Yeah it is sad. Yes like you know. He he he. He stayed in that in his heart. He didn't get mad. You know he was sort of polite. You know but it was. It was hard. It was a little hard to watch is a little hard to watch him in a wheelchair to talking about his. Ms and I i thought it was the bravest should've seen and he somehow his you know his dick don't work and you know is i. I was amazed at how he could still find a smile on his own tragedy. And i've that's always that that's that quality and a comedian. Fucking love to find your own smile in your own tragedy is. This is fucking beautiful to make others smile with your pain that that. That's a gift that we have and it's also healing for ourselves shit. You can do if you get there i mean. I don't know that everybody takes you your rises to that. I don't know. I mean. I think that's the at its best. That's when it's good. I love the fact that you're humble talking about this right here like you're talking about you're losing woman you loved. It seems dart. But that i understand like when you find that. That's that's to me the dopes comedy yet. no shit. it's easy to talk about the easy shit day daily newspaper but when you start talking about yourself paints trauma hurts you and it's hard to even get through. I've left stage when i had talked about my mom sometime. Say the joke. 'cause mom i lost my momma. You know an not more painful than losing your mother. Yeah i try to tell people all the fucking time like nothing compares. I mean people try to compared to. I'm grieving i feel so bad for my uncle. Fuck ankle. I'll be touch. Dick you'll sleep. I lost my momma motherfucking number. Mom brother fun but the weird thing is that as much as it is not talked about or handled. It's the most common thing everybody dies. Everybody deals with death. But it's hard to do it taught to talk about but because it's one of the most common things but it's one of the things that we're all afraid of. Yes you'll wanna die and you think if you talk about it you're gonna be closer to it. But that's why you're courageous. That's right hawking. no. I think it's good you got to disarm. And there's a lot of people walking around the world carrying a lot of grief from and i think it's corrosive and i think it's at the core of a lot of problems on fucking process. Greet right and if you can laugh and it comes out like you like that. I love that laughter. That should be crying right. That's the best kind of feeling. I've people have my mom mother's day show. I have have people come up with tears in their eyes from one side from the other side laughing. Yeah but because you know. They've lost to now understand the champagne. You is people he gets how you get to that place so we're talking about you'll get humbled enough to allow yourself to talk about you know like i was a brittle guy for years on stage just aggravated and angry and it was you know it took life beating down one way or the other to get grounded it myself. Because i didn't know who i was you know and it takes that shit. Whatever it is heartbreak pain you know it. Just it's gonna wear you down either. You're gonna continue fighting it. And look like ted or you're gonna you know. Surrender very little but the more you fight when you're losing snow. Yeah but you've matured like in a year's your best year show is now. I think that's true. This is the fact that you drank or yeah yeah had to any crack badly. I wanna get you high unanimous you. I wake up going. That was fun. And where's mark. No one knows man. What did you do. You can just tell you to drink. We lost him man. You got no drunk in your family. Like none of us know joe. My my dad is always call a drunk but he likes the taste but he's a happy drunk. I mean i've never had the abusive mckay. Everybody getting my dad. I drove him. Dad now we have a good time. He's still around does eighty five. I'm gonna go check him out. He's in new york and we'll go check out how come over there bring some wine. He drink till his feet stinks. A new falls asleep. Yeah that's why. I guess my dad's eighty three. I guess You know there's now my dad I know he doesn't drink anymore. he didn't do much anymore. I think his brains going okay. Yeah so that's a whole other ball of wax. I'm dead and especially it. I said you say like doing about that is like Oh you like it because of white guy. He's just starting to get the alzheimer's you know and my dad was sort of a difficult kind of kind of an asshole in difficult guy. You know like But now he's got. He's got the alzheimer's and he's still got his old memories but the new memories not so good and he can't follow through and it's like he's kinda like he's forgotten how to be an asshole. I get what i'm saying is like if you have a family member. That's got alzheimer's don't don't miss the sweet spot. It's ready to beginning. I think that i say I see and i know like eventually he's gonna forget who i am and then i look at the audience in and gone and i will be truly free..

"Laughing at his shoes so that was the first time. I was on on camera and like when i was a doorman at the store. I used to watch damon. All the time dame me. don't give the audience. He didn't you say what the fucking say because as a performer. You have to be free enough to do it over. Fuck you wanna do and everybody especially nowadays. There's so judgmental when damon felt your judgmental. He yet he would he would. He wouldn't even give you jokes still on stage and he'd farting on mike and go. This room stinks and leave. I seen him leave the stage. Once i went on he the invisible comic. Yeah because the audience is being weird and he went behind the camera. I mean behind the curtain. And he did his whole act audio. Yeah he was his freeman and he would think it was high on something but it wasn't no the thing was great. Is that like when he felt it like when he was just riffing and one of the weird characters that he would do his kiko. Just watch it to watch. He's like what is he. How far is this going to go. But you know what that's all of us. all comedians. I so watch. Sam kinison bomb. I was a kid going to be. So yeah sam kennison bomb literally every night until one day. He hit this. No yeah we the anger. something happened. Sure you've got gung. And he became. Hot larry's i didn't know what to do with phil bomb. You know. Yeah sometimes when you stay in shape you find me yeah. Help white people tap into their white guilt. That's right he didn't and he would make you sit there most liberal i do. Oh somebody's because you have a black friend or what nigger quota is a good friend. Paul mooney but i watch him. Close the laugh at the comedies area every night close and he would stay in it and stay in the day and that's what made him brilliant because the things that you thought he bombed it as things that he he absolutely killed with that really made his career. But so you're watching this stuff. 'cause you're hanging around but you still weren't. You just wanted to act. I was i was scared. Do send. it really was because what you do. Stand up sometimes my family pulled from life. And canaan sean damon every in covered. Fuck talk about them. But that's what you realize is and that's the beauty of comedy right is. It doesn't matter who goes on and how many comedians are. We all have our own point of view. It don't matter. How many do trump jokes. Everybody has their own point of view about themselves. The world or anything. That happens to you. And so that's for me the most freeing thing and it's the thing that i learned doing stand up over the last ten years is always something to talk about as long as you true when we talk about you. And what's your point of view will all trying to gather what point of view is because then the math and the science repetition it comes into processes into your brain and it's out the weirdest. Yeah and then like like in then you figure out how to make it funny and you. Sometimes you're talking truth and you're talking seriousness and you feel uncomfortable with how serious gotten and then you you fuck chair when all else fails fuck. No but it's funny. Because i've watched i've my brother damaged say don't be afraid of silence now listening. Then they'll learn to laugh when you hit it and i've seen you go on you talk for our science class but when you hit it's like that's why i'm doing this free set. I'm here because i'm trying to find that's funny. Anybody that is right to set goals. I'm going out to do a special no and we have to. We have to work it you got. I mean literally. I'm going to denver and thursday for five shows in the club work. Which one comedy works. A cops nobody. It's been working out this new our trying to figure it out you know and i've been doing these sets downtown at the dynasty typewriter doing hour and a half but i like it. I mean i feel grounded. i'm not afraid. Vino i need to. Things need to be delivered. That's when you do it like that. You're basically cornering yourself you're making you have to be funny. 'cause you're out you put it out there no either it's going to be delivered or it is not when it's not keeps up all night. What did i. What did i do wrong at the store do like i was being funny back. You just feel i. I was doing that. Damon theme is creating all this tension. Cry because there's just detention was so thick. And i'm like i don't know and i just said to him. I just put my hand my faces doing. I don't know why i'm doing this. You really hurting me. What i'm doing. And i don't even know if it's comedy anymore but i don't know how to get out of it. They started laughing at that. Like thank god told the truth and it the beautiful man truth. That's that's why we sit in those clubs and do that time tour and that's why you work it and working and working you know like i filmed the hour and a half miles special film. I'll forty-five next one. I'm not doing it. I'm this is it just that you see. I can't account for when i improvise to seventy minutes. Do i know i saw you. We're just see over at the pressing and you're telling me about the the special already..

"Got a lot of business says to me filming and i look over and i'm watching this guy and for the rest of the day i can't i fucking can't unseeded because then it seems like he gets more interesting. I mean i understand it. You know what's really weird about that. Is i watched some of the video for some of the old footage of that guy hit worrying. Well no but he like like when he's conducting. Remember all my god. He's doing the so the only people that are going to notice that it's going to be like that guy's daughter. Oh that's the way essence exactly with the hips way. He did good. He did good. Everybody did good. That was the level of commitment on that set. Everybody was committed. The best thing is their cloud for having some laugh crazy. I can't do serious scenes and you tell me stuff like boys. He busy sand it was. I mean but. I don't think it might the best you'll be heard. It would've been me less choice. That i made in that and i watched the movie. Remember when you get in my face. Don't fucking move as the best choice. 'cause i'm thinking about that like i like if that were mark i would be like what's up man drive back but jerry just stood right there. You come right up into my face mike. what is you influence. You didn't blink. Is this like nothing. Nothing because i think your character knew that this was temporary. And you was this nelson full of. Yeah yeah yeah. Yeah sure okay. Yeah to sit and that he was insecure. And you're like whatever. Rita yeah built this fucking guy exactly. Yeah okay yeah i was. It was exciting. It looks so fucking good. The movie lease amazing chase. Everybody every all departments. I've never worked on a movie. Where every department showed up Yeah yeah that's why. I can't be mad at the guy. The conductor order engineer. That was had all the business because great. We all had business business. You know i was just being funny because it's funny on the set but like in order to make in that guy's a real actor in order to make acting interesting and not just sort of like because it's a lot of waiting around and so out of repetition so like and i'm just learning this shit like in order to make it interesting you've got to immerse yourself in it or else is just going to be like us gonna feel like tedious. Waste of time right. I mean you must have done roles in your life where you're like no because i think i've given myself a story lease lose. Always tell us a really. You have to give your character story. What's your story in this scene because everybody has a function in the scene so us. When did you get the lesson and get the list. You still busy you simply guys business. She just told me to just do the business. I'm doing got some good business going now. Then you started doing business. You would turn me a mall. Look i'm doing business and you started turning now in reminded me then you'd get. My pencil is drink shopping pencil. Drink some water. No you started doing that. And i started looking at every time i look at you through business. I laugh because i look over at him. And he's doing business business on both sides a business. Tell me about this story though. I wanna learn all you got to give yourself a were in every scene. Yeah what's your character through. Even if you don't have line right the guy had to business. I had a story was singing singing about. I was feeling powerless. I was watching her family bond again. Ted was watching the destruction of his empire in his control. Rita right and so those words was resonating to him and that's why when he jumped back in to take center stage he's a clown right and he's coming from insecure place and when the camera comes soon that's all that's going on in my mind yet actors when they come in for that close up. They're looking into your soul right so they need to see that story. That insecurity informs your face you your. Yeah yeah you browse your. You'd be surprised. What when you give yourself. The story yet. Informs the audience. What your character and you always did this or or did you not call it. That i didn't call it that. I've always done it but when liezl said what's the story and every night i would go home and if i had seen with that lines and not rea- i came in with a story. And then she would be like now. That's the wrong story. Telling this is just still really. Yeah sometimes she had that that thing with her. Like i never know until you just go mark b. mark got doing great. You know like anything. Think she's great great about a. You didn't need it right. Yeah i know you had. You had a tough demeanor you you believe in the girl i get that he was on sp spot on with your character yet and i think for me it was a lot more complicated. Yeah i mean the character right you. Sieve was the abusive. He was married but he was a player. There was a lot of things going on the whole history with that guy. Yeah from when she was younger he was around. Yeah so you've got. I heard from you. David hood the guy who played bass in the real muscle shoals man. I know his son patterson whose in a band called drive by truckers indus- so work. But he he..

"Offer you severance suck my cock so anyway. Four cobra package you know. Then you're i use this as all time. You wanna go yes. This is why this is why we're doing this with you. People don't realize they're doing it while they're doing it My mom sent me a letter. Now i don't know who sends letters anymore. I mean they send cards and things. But i got a letter from my mom. Handwritten no typed typed on an old style typewriter. There's nothing new style at all. There's no newfangled anything that won't even allow pringles into those are the devils jeff. First thing don't like about is the efficiency i wanna. I wanna pillowcase. Filled with dried stale air. And there's some broken shipped at the bottom i deficiency than like the newfangled part. They don't like anything about it. So i got a. I got a letter saying basically. I realized i neglected you as a child and ignore you and i didn't pay attention to you and now you don't pay attention to me but i like to. I'd like to fix that. So let's let's fix that. I said don't you get this letter today now. Well i got a few days pretty busy today. Yeah it was whole budget words. Jumble together now. I have a. There's a cool cool off period. I have with answering letters. I don't wanna go in hotheaded. So i gave it a four or five days angered in other words. No no no. I just to me. It's this it's this thing where it's like. I get it so but i i have this sort of a non-relationship my parents. They don't really exactly know what's going on. My dad doesn't but moms like so. I said She's been saying to me that. My step dad. John is really the one taking the brunt. He's having to do all the work and take care of her and do a bunch of stuff and and he needs a little vacation you know he could he could use. She doesn't need to go out or do anything but he definitely get out of the house. He wants you to take them on a date night. no no. He doesn't talk which is nice so he doesn't. He doesn't talk. She doesn't really talk. No one never. There's a there's an agreement where no one will talk but do for fashion letters. And so i said click click. I called now. What happened was i got a. I got an email from my from my brother-in-law kristoff. And i said oh he's in the cars. He sent me an email car. And i said oh you know what i should invite him and the kids and my sister. She's into it down to the toyota grand prix the celebrity race coming up this saturday in long beach and he gets kicked out of it. The kids get a kick out of it. They like that stuff. My nephew's said okay. So i invited him. And then i said you know i'll call my mom and i'll tell her you know fine will will move on and then i'll invite my stepdad john to come out to the race. Maybe you can tag along with kristoff or something. But he'd get a kick out of this thing to and then i said Big to do big event forty fifty thousand people there and i'm coming back is a pro this year. 'cause i won last year a couple of beats of silence. I guess john could then travel with kristof. Maybe they carpool and she said okay. And i said all right and then i said well you know. Have jon call me. We'll hook it up. She said all righty okay. We'll see you soon then combined maybe next week all right and then they hung up and i went well. That's why we don't talk that much. Because i just told her. There was an event at forty or fifty thousand people showed up at and i won it last year coming back pro this year and there was not a now. How does this not that. that part. That parts confusing the part. That part is hurtful but the part. That's confusing as they never go. What is this thing. you're talking of like. Are you in the grand prix. Are there celebrity. What celebrities like what you do. What what who's car. Do you drive. Have questions like what what time what do you get. How many is there anybody else i've heard of. Its imagine john. The stepfather is going to get this second hand information. Like hey go. You're you're going this weekend to see adams thing what what is it. I i something in long beach. I think is what you're doing toyota. Basically said i'm going to have some. I got some community service here from the dui. I'll be at the long beach. Offramp picking up garbage between noon and five o'clock on saturday. Maybe john combined talk talk through. The window sounds good. There you go. It was the it was like a little pause Yeah johnson's like like there's zero. I always wonder. I always have this thing of. Does it just leave completely or someone go online and go what goes on this. It takes place once a year. It's taking place in southern california for. I think the race has been about forty years. Maybe maybe more. The celebrity races been thirty seven years. Been all kinds of luminaries in it and it's been well. It's the biggest event that takes place in long beach. Put it to you that way once a year but you know. It's a huge weekend. Does she have curiosity about people. The world things. I had a sad realization when i was skipping rope the other night. Which is i like to skip rope and have sad thoughts. I realized that. I have spoken to my mother about dorothy. Gravity's kids book. Hook the kids her the book she wrote about her. Two twin daughters are our granddaughter's when there were five years old that she did not illustrate just. Sally jumped on the bed. Sally landed on her head turn. The page janey had a good night. But sally had such a fright. Turn the page. I not illustrated just rent. I've had many many many more conversations about the children's book that contained twenty-one words in it then my to new york times bestsellers does she. Does your mother have any knowledge. She read your book on unclear. You have no idea if she's read your book. It's always it's always unclear. They she know about. It's weird because you talk about the lack of curiosity. Mom gave her took her out to the woodshed. Good spanking when it came to this. Show believe me. My parents were just here this weekend and they didn't have to tell them anything about anything that comes up in your world because they're up to speed on earth they hear it because of my weekly appearances and but i know that you're you're but is your is she i i assume the answer is to this is no but the she know anything about pop culture. Does she know who snoop dogg. Long beach makes me think of snoop dogg which she knows that is for instance where they think out. Doesn't she used to like jon stewart. Oh really all right. Well that's the speed. What do you make of her writing you this letter. Well i think she realizes that she's coming to the end of the line here and wants some sort of you know closure or some sort of connection or something but what most people do and it's what a lot of people do and i'm guilty of it as well. You just say. here's what i want. Then you go right back to what you do you know how you are. That's thing back to why you can't have it. I i tell people all the time. There's this thing where everyone is supposed to hang out because we have great affection for each other because we're in love with each other but for family members was up but the rally with people they have a sport team an activity job. They have events there's events and when you erase all those events you know even with your own family if your dad doesn't like your team and your dad doesn't much care for whatever your hobby is in your dad. Keep filling in the blank. He's he's not a beer guy so he's not going to go have a cold one with the and all that kind of he's not into cars your cars whatever it is..

I'd be like apologize for what you did. talk about. do here was a fad. And you killed him. I'm like i don't know what you guys are talking about. And it was this. Little tiny light micro aggressive annoying thing that i dealt with and you know leading up to rumors. I just decided to own it. You know i took it. I'm taking it back. You don't say. I'm reclaiming it for me. It was just funny. It's a kind of air something like that out because it was so absurd. It was hilarious. I i tell everybody man you know. I read this quote the other day. That was great and it was. I used to want to protect my name in situations now. I just want to protect my piece. I let whoever think whatever so you got to get to that point little. That's dave but also it's like i'm using it constructively lying. I could've been clapping back at people on the internet for the last two years but i chose to put it in a hit song and make some money and i saw the picture cardi first of all how was it. Working where cardi was. This was the person that you were like. Okay my next single. I need cardi on here. Tell me how this all happened. I've been wanting to work cari. Since the day she signed to atlantic rappers when the eight dried on that contract. I say please put me on a sophomore her. I shoes so funny. I thought she's a superstar. And i really you know like i said rush. Then she don't rush nothing. We just waited for the right time. The right moment the right song. And after i row rumors rumors back in february. And after that. I was like i wait. I write the song first and then i'll let the song ask for feature sometimes the songs on extra features because i like to complete a song. So what's going on. His own and rumors was good. But it was like mccarthy and it made it great I sent her record issues. Like i loved it. I loved record and you know do the kobe. We couldn't physically be together. So we did it over facetime and you know. She gets all kinds of rumors about her. You know what. I'm saying all kinds of misconceptions in the media and she always clapback so i said. Let me put the queen on record me. Can you entered rooms featuring cardi b. You go first because we're premiering it morning heart. So this is a world premier from liz. His changed your perspective of celebrity. Because we all have different perspectives celebrity. When we on the outside and you get in a little bit and you know it might change what you believe about. Other people that they knew absolutely absolutely. I feel like the funniest we'd be like these luminosity desert people say i'm like yard only new obama luminosity in this level of industry light. Ain't nobody doing crazy like that. That i know of. I've been chilling at home taking bubble baths and then going back on the road. Like did you believe that. Prior to becoming a celebrity around twenty. Twelve i was a conspiracy theory of conspiracy. There's i'm not gonna lie. Like i got super deep in the aliens while sorts of so. Yeah that was one of the things i was like. What's going on that wondered. You know it's easy to believe when you're not a part of it but not as you nobody doing your hair your hair look like throwing up some devil signs or something so i think this on the internet once. I wore like this. Kristen cohen dress to like i heart. You know performance. I had like a jingle ball or something and it was white and black checkers. And they were like oh. She's in the aluminum audie now. She's got white black said. I just like the dress made it though when you in the illuminate. Let anybody in. Listen okay let me does my shoulder. Vomit is also here's another rumor whispered that she must now. How did you answer that. Let me tell you something. This is the funniest partisan like we were sitting there. She was like okay. Now whispering to lizzie here and it was the first time we had to do that kind of chen and she was like each. I've died laughing. This is south after that. The director split us up. You say doc. As their next week we have to do this impulse. Well i mean why are you filming the joke honest with you. I can't tell joking. You always talk about big girl. She always talking about. She say the wet bitch you think keeping track record as she said you know. How big girls have regina talks about that girl all the time and she got that song so who knows. Maybe the rumors are true. West part to laugh you crazy girl. She likes not real crazy. I was like a guy got a little milky down there now. How many other sons have room in back in february remix milky. Wow part so little down. i'm not gonna lie. Have you written since february. Since you know during this whole lockdown ivoirian like one hundred and forty saw because i write a lap and finished songs. Like i'll be in the studio and i have a two a day mentality. People think i'm crazy but when we get in there even if it's my first day with a producer and writers on like we gotta get tool songs like i. I don't know why but it's like that helps me balance my vibe so if you think about our writing songs over the summer when we were locked down all my A little home studio setup. 'cause i gotta make this music so i was writing songs there and then i've been working since twenty nineteen like the summer of twenty nine thousand nine hundred. I've got a lot of songs songs about everything though. Y'all so our talks about my favorite sandwich about hairs your sandwich wage. My favorite families. I like the. Ot's i saw vegan now. Okay so i used to love so now. I do you know vegan be. Ot's with Some avocado so blacks vegan vegan bacon or. They got yeah. They do pay vegan cheese and green apple sandwiches like a little cheesy trying to muster. I can't believe i can't believe he. Just shame me like you say cheese and on a sandwich..

'Respect' Is an Earnest Aretha Franklin Tribute Movie
"Is what you might call a bio-pics bio pic. It takes about the first. Half of. Aretha franklin's life dramatizes. It step by step as she builds her talent in her father's church and then carves out her place in music history. And yes as is common in films like this. There is trauma. There is a troubled family history and there is a marriage to a man who should never have been let anywhere near her career. In addition to forest whittaker and marlon wayans the cast includes audra mcdonald as aretha. Franklin's mother and marc maron as record. Mogul jerry wexler. Hudson performs a lot of franklin's hits including respect chain of fools and natural woman she also takes on the gospel and the standards and even more of franklin's enviable range written by tracey scott wilson kelly corey and directed by lisa tommy. It's a long and admiring

Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald
What's the deal with Framing Britney Spears on HBO?
"Framing britney. This documentary had everyone above this weekend. I watched it last night. Kind of inbetween. Basically i'll be honest. I started watching it after the halftime show During the superbowl. 'cause i didn't really care at us home with my family and i wasn't like at a party or betting or anything but i'll get super bowl too but first of all Of course we've all heard about free brittany. Which has been this movement that her fans kinda started. There's been you know articles podcast and everybody talking about it. Of course. I follow her along with twenty seven other million people on instagram. And it's been weird. It's been weird watching her this last year. You gotta watch it. It's on lure fx. But it's just really they kind of just go through her whole career with in two hours which could have been. You know an eight part series. I think and we all remember when she came up. It was the mickey mouse club. And then all of a sudden she was really sexy. I remember when Shawn and marlon wayans were hosting the mtv awards and she came out and she did her sexy that goes with the snake and their joke which they came off came up with on the spot which is a great story is from minnie mouse club to the strip club and it was one of the funniest lines ever but now in watching that you're like wow you know this. This girl was suffering We made her suffer because we did jokes like this. We are obsessed with her sexuality. Diane sawyer was you look back at that interview which they featured and really putting her in the hot seat you know. Jay leno Doing jokes about her. We did jokes better. When chelsea lately started we. It was a great time for late night. Television also. Because right around that time the writers guild strike happened and we weren't writers guild so we were the only Late night show that got to stay on air. Every day was britney spears story. And it i. It just seemed like she was going. You know kinda fun crazy like she disliked to gas stations a lot and walk around barefoot and the paparazzi. Were there at the time. Because at that time there was no instagram. And that is how paparazzi and magazines made money is to get the shots of brittany. Brittany was the highest paid celebrity photos and then of course she married Kevin federal line but it was all just email. I just remember being doing chelsea lately and there was talk. We'll her kids taken away. And i remember sitting there going. There's no way she's going to lose custody of her kids. Come on i mean very few mothers do and she's she's going through a little struggling time but it's mostly because these paparazzi's are falling everywhere. Well you guys probably know this then. The dad got a conservative ship. And a lot of people after watching this special. This documentary said where was the mom. Why wouldn't the mom because parents divorced at that time. Try to get the conservative ship. Jamie her father was in and out of jobs Former drug addict. I believe maybe not drug out excessively alchoholic and So why would he be the person in charge. The thing is is. I think he was the first one to go to lawyers and try to get this into the works. And she was in a fifty one fifty at a mental institution when all this paperwork was done and the judge signed it. And now it's been you know fifteen years or something that this has been going on for and right away after this was done she started doing sitcoms again. Of course shortly after that she got her residency and she was making three hundred and fifty thousand dollars a night doing that show and then she left planet hollywood. And she now she's gonna do another huge residency at this new stage that they built her at the mgm and they do this big livestream thing and she comes up and then she just like and walks off talking to talk to reporters. She's not going to say anything. She's not going to do a song and shortly after that. She did it announcement saying my father is sick. And i'm not going to be performing. I'm going to put this residency off and that was really bizarre. People like is he sick. And i really don't know what the now looking back. I'm like i really don't know if he was sick of that was just her way out because now it looks like she in fact knew that the only way to get out of this conservatorship get her freedom back from her father was to stop working and stop making money and i. I would love to see what happened the day she was like you know what what the hell am i doing. Aren't going to sign up for another two or three year contract with them performing every night making all this money which. I don't get to choose how i want to spend the money. I don't get to get in the car and drive. I don't get to make a reservation and stay in hawaii on a whim without checking with twelve other people. Screw this you know. And she goes to her place in malibu during covert or wherever she is. Jesus been doing these weird instagram posts. Where her voice has changed. It's not the same voice. You're seeing these interviews on the documentary. And she's like ok guys. I've heard that a lot of been wondering what i'm going to do for the new year one. I'm gonna try to finish a pilates class to. I'm gonna try to meditate three. I'm going to try to eat better. And for i'm going to try that ice cream diet. And when she's doing it she's like it. Looks like she's definitely reading it whether it's a cue card but somebody else's there and the fact that she said i heard you guys not having reading your comments and one thing in the new year you guys asked me was Of course photos are weird. The makeup soy's like various mudgee. She's always wearing these crop tops. Sometimes she's dancing and you know i just really hope that I hope the mother gets involved. I hope that that the judge is able to watch this. Because i think when the judge granted this he was watching all the crazy news everyday. Let's just like the rest of us and this weird sam. Lufti was after an eye at the time. I was four the conservative ship. I'm like gosh. I don't want other people to take advantage of it this way. You know the data's there the other people are there to make sure that she stays healthy. No weirdos get around her. She's able to have visitation with her boys. But now after all these years it does seem really wrong and I think that this is going to be the catalyst to make whatever judges involved to open his eyes and maybe reconsider This conservative ship for

Gilead’s remdesivir is a rare example of foresight in this pandemic
"Up let's go inside the magazine the cover story it's all about how Kelly adds wind does appear is an example of foresight in this pandemic we caught up with magazine editor Joe Webber and the writer of the piece Robert Langer from the beginning of this series character really clear that there weren't that many drugs that could do that and like lab data against corona viruses to go right into trials plane to human trials and this is one of a kind of handful found some from very early on you know if there's going to was going to early drugs qualifiers this is likely to be excised paying attention only on those talking to Billy you know early on trying to get interviews with some of their executives which was very hard to but what one thing we were able to get you know before this completely closed off or if you get a to talk to for you know into a one of A. R. the plants for the filling the file got in California this is why does everything was shutting down in mid March in U. appointment last days we could have done it we gotta talk over there a couple of great pictures and make videos suggesting that really helped make the story and then I just kept talking to them and you know get more detail at the earliest years of compounding then yeah finally is able to get me to deal with one of the top you know manufacture accurately tell me all the the seven different chemicals went into this and they get a twenty five different steps and you can compare the two making a very yeah yes the very specific or local of type of gratitude bakery if you don't if you don't already huge amount of your specially flower advance you have to wait for the new crop wheat to grow up to be a big delay that's right January all the specialty ingredients in the right order the flyers in China and Europe Wayans dance I was like the biggest smartest thing that they did yeah it's that's really such a key detail what to bring into Weber the editor of Bloomberg business week he joins us from Brooklyn and jolt you put this on the cover it makes a huge amount of sense because it's such a good read give us the contact from your perspective because you're looking across all of these stories not just as it relates to the crown of ours but across the world of business you know I think the story's significance is is huge and it's also the way that I I think is the best part of it but this is almost like the most hopeful news the only hopeful news basically to date in this coronavirus saga you either with like it it feels like it one bit of bad news after not act and it's almost like this cacophony of incompetence sometimes and so what I think Bob will be able to do in this Gilead story was actually shows like here's a good example of like one of the only ones really of a company that had incredible foresight and preparedness and you know how do you not actually ordered the raw materials that they needed to actually make this creep back in January even before it was you know before we knew how bad this was going to be having not done that back then we would not have the treatment that we certainly you know I like to be sure this is not a cure it's a treatment it takes corona virus from being fifteen gate operation down to maybe like eleven Coolidge down to like a linen suit you know if it's a modest improvement over nothing but at least it's something and you don't bother are you sort of you know reported around if you know if it's actually even more incredible than that because this is a drug that actually you know it's been around for like eleven years now and it never could find a purpose even right what what's the backstory you know the first thing that is you know looking for hepatitis C. drugs that was hard to administer the a better one for pills with conditional for that and then you know they tried it for a bola and they spend years on that you know because the first attempt to prolong a ball out quicker than the outbreak faded before they could get into even falls lake Catherine reasonable outbreak and then it didn't work that well so they are but in the end so they're trying to figure out what to do next and when the moment came along and they didn't have the thing that he definitely was I did not in January they didn't assume the best case scenario they didn't play has to wait a few weeks we'll see if this goes away because they're gay in case this is a pandemic worker or a whole bunch of stuff right now and it's just very different from what a lot of other folks did I have to say what's really cool in the story and if if people don't totally understand how significant this is it you're right Mr how Anthony Fauci has pointed out that he is like in the trial of ambassador to the first big trial of AZ T. the first drug for HIV right and so then you understand because that too was something we just couldn't figure out a treatment and so you understand Bob how room disappear is really a first very important step well yeah absolutely I mean the way to think of this is as a first step or first thing over again as the sea of going to self censor any a lot more drugs they're working on better drugs and better ways to administrative right now to confusion and we're definitely gonna need vaccines this doesn't solve the problem this is you know and as you said the first up from the second you know hospitalized patients in this reporter Robert Langer and of course Joe Webber the editor of Bloomberg business week and Carol what I really liked about this story from the pretty arresting cover image all the way through the pieces we talk so much about sort of botched response in on preparedness this was a case where a company anticipated some of this a lot still to be seen about whether this will be the drug that we need but I a company in the

"Much has happened in the world of anime and we have a star studded lineup for all of you just think about all these the things that have happened because I actually wrote this down because the last seven days have just been absurd so we said goodbye last Monday after those two conference calls remember we thought for a second second we thought maybe this wouldn't happen but it seemed like the Mazda off I we thought maybe won't happen and then conference calls happen all right so we we start to feel like we can move on from this whole thing then on Wednesday we find out Darren tells having these visa issues that maybe he won't be able to come to New York City we find out jared cannon near there's a standby fighter Wednesday Wednesday night we have the open workout remember that where he mustard oil is pitting fans against each other to do like sparring matches everything last week was just so different and a little off but fun and unique but just kind of different till arrives on Thursday on Friday we have the the Wayans and cutting gasoline is is like just chilling on his coach fell Cordeiro shoulder uses the shoulder maybe allegedly as a crutch elbow on shoulder that well then they unveil this belt fifty thousand dollars dollars and they have this big to do with the gloves everything they don't even treat the real belts like this unbelievable then the rock shows up and announces this movie marker all this stuff and that's quite the stugatz gods from lebatardshow fame he walks up with horizontal Nick Diaz shows up with eighty s at the face off they're going toe to toe the rock is up there on the stage Roberto Duran Dan is in the crowd as well to see his guy horry must've he walks him out on Saturday the president is in attended all these people aren't attendance second highest gate in in UFC MSG history so much going on Unbeliev and then of course we get the fight and we get the stoppage and it's controversial and people are a little bit upset the card was great from top to bottom was just one of those those nights where it was like wow where were you on November second two thousand nineteen just a very unique set of circumstances in the end nate says loses to horry Mazda via doctor stoppage fourth-round they call it off right before and now we we wonder what happens next for Mazda and

The design legacy of Apples Jony Ive is iconic, but eco-problematic
"Apple is known for beautiful expensive products that get replaced pretty often either for status or because the battery is dying when longtime designer Gianni. I've left apple last month to form his own design company. Lots of people looked back at his time at apple and his influence on creating. Waiting products that were hard to repair prioritized thinness and beauty over sometimes reliability and whether as apple gears up to announce new iphones this fall that might actually change now that I've is Gone Kyle Wiens is the founder of the electronics repair site. I fix it. He wrote a blog post about ives mixed legacy at apple especially when it comes to the environment and he said sometimes simple isn't better. It's this idea that it should be so simple to use the you shouldn't have to worry about how it works. What's under the hood? They decided intentionally that they were going to hide the complexity of the battery from us but what that did is a side effect was it limited the lifespan it made these last shorter and and so then when the new you know a sexy renew features comes out next year like Ammiel one doesn't work as well. I'm going to get a new one. How much did these design choices influence? The rest of the tech world like phones used to have walkable batteries until the iphone came along and Apple Paul really you could argue drove the rest of the industry into this sort of more throw away tack. Absolutely they drove the rest of the industry this idea that it was acceptable that you could get away with say integrating the hard hard drive onto the main motherboard. If you want to separate the computer from the data. There's no way to do it. That's the kind of thing that that most other companies would have said No. That's a red line. We won't Cross Apple crosses that line and then everyone else follows you've also. Written recently about how Johnny is designs based on the style of German industrial designer deter roms and a principal like a really important principle of deter ROMs design was sustainability environmental sustainability and you talk about how Johnny lives is leaving apple without having reconciled really a big gap there. Why do you think that that shift happened and really hasn't been addressed right out of design? Principles Design Zayn is is sustainable and design long lasting and I think those things get coupled together when you do something like like doing in a battery that artificially limits the life of the entire device to the life of its shortest component. You're getting on this consumer a treadmill treadmill where we just have to go out and buy more things and the the environmental impact of manufacturing these things is significant. It's it's over two hundred pounds of raw material to make an iphone but the fundamental product architecture of saying as thin as possible and damn the consequences it really is a challenge. What we've seen is apple's environmental team who is very good have done everything they can to make? The products is sustainable except change the design that has been driven by Johnny Ivan his team and there have been A. A number of very specific decisions that they've made that of limited lifespan of these devices I think probably to the Chagrin of apples embarrasment team who then has to support it in the best possible late how much of it is on us the consumer I I mean we have certainly bought them all the time. We've complained about them. You know you've got rid of the headphone Jack. Oh I can't slot my battery out. This is so annoying and yet we we do keep buying them absolutely and this is a challenge that we have is a culture. Is it when you when you have something where there's multiple variables that you have to choose from you want the best audio player but you also would like something that will last a long time <hes> because it doesn't have stamped on the box. Hey this thing last eighteen months. I think we tend to forget we put out of our minds. Were not very good. <hes> psychologically it making long term decisions and then then later we tend to justify say oh well you know it's not running as as long as it used to but <hes> you know there's a new one that came out so I think I think that is <hes> they've been able to take advantage of psychology <hes> that yes we bear some responsibility but I think the lack of disclosure if they said hey if a single key on this computer breaks it's going be over a thousand dollar repair that might change people's mind when they're purchasing things up front but people don't have that information and how do you think that that mentality that psychology is starting to change sort of like as you get to the point where you're feeling like <hes>. I'm about to buy my fifth iphone. Phone this one seems fine except the battery for example and then of course there was the scandal about it. Do you think that as these devices get longer in the tooth. There's more awareness that they don't last as long as maybe they should or could I think so we're starting to see people wanting to push their devices longer part of that is the improvement in smartphones is not as great every year as it used to be so as that's potatoing. We don't need to get new phones <hes> all that frequently but the batteries don't last any longer than they used to so all of a sudden. We're GONNA keep our phones twice as long as did three four years ago <hes> we're going to have to be replacing the battery and at that point making those batteries available <hes> is going to be an important competitive differentiator and that's where you have companies like Motorola that have come out and said we're going to sell service parts for our funds. We're going to make them available both to repair shops into consumers <hes> there's a there's a crack that apple has left in the market that perhaps mother all will exploit so we could start circling back around to the beginning where we have phones with <hes> swap -able batteries and maybe S._d.. I D cards lots and so this is something really funny people as as because we take these things apart I take apart every iphone. There is room inside the Iphone S._d.. Card Slot. There's room for some cards. There's room for Nestea card. They put that in there the only reason that you can't upgrade. Upgrade the memory on the iphone is is because they want to charge you an extra hundred or two hundred dollars for the extra storage Kyle Wayans the founder of the electronics repair site. I fix it and now for some related links lots of words have been written about apple and whether it still has its legendary Mojo and what will happen now that Johnny Ive is gone but I fought Jonathan Troy Aikman in the New York Post put a really well a week or so ago you said apple needs to figure out how to keep creating things that we didn't even know we needed. We of course also have linked to Kyle wiens piece on our website Marketplace Tech Dot Org and obviously it isn't only design. That's made apple products especially the iphone more likely to get replaced then repair. It's also the fact that a new device gifts introduced every year always at least in theory with some must have set of features that means the old one is now useless or at best unwanted and then new features in its operating system. Them Aren't always available for older phones like in the upcoming thirteen. There's a software fix to keep your battery from overcharging which should prevent your battery from getting old and not holding a tarred so quickly after you buy a new phone except that I._S.. Thirteen will only be available on newer iphone models but it does seem like consumers increasingly want off the hamster wheel research firm Gartner forecast last week that smartphone shipments will have their quote worst ever decline in two thousand.
