"Season. Did you know that it was Bojangles 45th birthday? Those were a couple ads featuring the names, images, and likenesses of a few college basketball players. The Cavendish twins and Aaliyah Boston and other big name college athletes have also struck an IL deals with national brands. I think it's good that now athletes can make money off themselves and a lot of ways it teaches them to be businessmen or business women quicker. And it teaches them to be more creative. Spencer wadsworth is an agent with the sports marketing company called wasserman media group. One of his clients is raylan Turner, a UCLA soccer player who became the first college athlete to be sponsored by Nike. Huge deal, right? Though we should say that the vast vast majority of the deals that happened in the past year have not been with ginormous global brands, right? And according to a company that has been tracking it, a company called influencer, which tries to connect college students with NIL deals, about half the deals last year were worth less than 53 bucks. So not exactly life-changing money. On the other hand, when you add all the deals that happened last year together, influencer estimates that college athletes collectively made over $900 million. A lot of tacos. That is a lot of tacos and slightly fewer Lamborghinis. And some people have expressed concern about how that will change college athletics, like won't it turn amateur athletes into quasi professionals, but Spencer, he doesn't think so. Those that think that this is going to ruin college boards are just hanging on to an old idea. That is not going to ruin. If anything I said I'd make it bigger, so I'm going to make it better. And yeah, is there going to be more issues to manage? Sure. But I think it's more of just an older way of thinking. And this is a new way. There is another concern that's often raised about this latest influx of money into college sports. And that is, will it be bad for competition? So the worry is schools with the biggest booster networks will find ways to lure recruits to their school by dangling NIL deals in front of them.

"You'd like that, wouldn't you? I would love that. Roll tide. Cowboys, where they sit in 24th, what do you think TJ? I have no idea. You can mock it all over the place. I don't really pay too much attention in my trash until we get about a week out mock draft season. What do you mean you don't pay attention? They change too much and so I just like to wait till like we're right like ten days within the draft, things seem to be a little bit more locked down. Guys, we still have ten more days of prep to do, all right? Well, you've got your newspapers, or this guy. I got so many papers, I got mock drafts up, CBS sports this morning rich, jets, kayvon thibodeaux number four. In terms of all, by the way, he says he's not running his 40 because his ankles, old bulky still. And he said, it's on tape. He doesn't have to tell you. All the mock drafts, all the mock drafts that we read to me. The craziest ones are on CBS sports. What do they do in peyote? Rich, I go to this one because was it them who said Kyler Murray number one, that one year and he ended up going number one. No, I don't think it was. Who was it? It was someone crazy about number one and they ended up going number one, so I come back to them. It was Joe burrow. During that crazy season. Well, that was during that was during, yeah, that was before two got hurt too. They had burrowed a number one. The whole season. And then he had a great year, obviously. Okay. So I come back to them because history of accuracy. Kayvon thibodeau for the jets. Damn, man, oversaw gardener that would. Oh, they have the saints. That would get me upset. That would get me upset. Zion Johnson. By the way, this isn't draft related, but did you guys see the news on Russell Wilson's new crib in Denver? Yeah. I mean, but 25 metrics, man. This guy. Where's the thing, rich? When you live in Denver, it's cold. I know it's a sunshine state, but Denver's a sunshine. Old school. You got to have an indoor pool. Yeah. Whenever you can splurge for the indoor understand that. You gotta go for it. I get it. It's as big as the overlook hotel. And the basketball court. I just wonder who's the character. Who's the caretaker there during the non playing season? They give enough room for the future. That's the first thing that came to your head. BJ Armstrong is about to join us on this program. 8 four four choose Cleveland rich for anybody who's out there wants to call us as well. We'll take your phone calls. On this program, Trey wingo will join us an hour, number three, but one of our favorites. Here in person, guys. Love it. Yeah. That's in studio guests in person. He'll be joining us for a good portion of the second hour, BJ Armstrong, a champion player, three time NBA champion now at the wasserman media group, joining us next. Speaking of New York. I saw I saw the Russell Wilson acquisition. I saw the word acquisition. Yeah, that's great. And the thing that blew me away wasn't the indoor pool. It did not. It did not. The size of the place is the largest 20,000 ft². 30,000 ft², 20,000 ft². Its sizable four bedrooms, 12. That's the thing that got only four bedrooms, 12 bathrooms. It's just like, you can't, not enough to ratios off. This is not a there's not enough space for people to live, but if you gotta go pee, that's the place to go. And indoor pool. It's like, okay, there's got to be a bathroom in each corner. There's no excuse for just going in a pool. Don't be in my excuse. 12 bathrooms. Well, there's four bedrooms. So that's what? A big room every 5000 ft². Each room, each room has one bathroom for one. And an auxiliary one bathroom for two. And then the third bathroom is for something. When somebody comes over, that's your designated bathroom. Auxiliary bathroom. Should we designated battlefield one? Little children. Your friends come, they use this bathroom. Even when your sister's Friends comes, they use this bathroom. They could have, yeah, they could have like, I mean, you could divvy up the bathroom specifically by what would you like to do? You need to go one. We're checking out a P just say like, hey, I've got to go, where's the nearest restroom? And first, the answer is like, you're standing in it. The second one would be like, which one is the number one or number two? Number one. Number one is right there. Number two is if you've got to go to do not go there. That's not around second lap. And then there's one. What a beautiful place. I mean, he will be, he will be in one thing's for sure, is when he shows up for work, he'll be in a great mood. He'll be well rested. We will water infertile. Watered and fertilized. Maybe not because of Sierra kicks him out the bedroom. He can't go to another bedroom. So he has to sleep on the couch. Exactly. What?.

"Stopped by. He's one of only two coaches to actually win on the road over the first weekend of the NBA playoffs that is now underway. There's three games tonight, sixers trying to take a two O lead, same thing that the warriors are attempting to do and the Mavericks minus Luca lost their opener against the jazz who are trying to go back home up to oh, that would be a huge development in that series. And here on the rich eisen show to talk about it in person is one of our favorites. Three time NBA champion and now with the wasserman media group as he has been for the last several years, good to see you be Jerome strong. How are you doing? I'm doing great. It's always a pleasure to be here. How are you doing? Good. You look the same. You need to save it. You're like the Paul Rudd of basketball. You look great, man. Oh, thank you. You got it. So what was your sense of the weekend's games? What stands out to you now that we're one game Ed. What they were incredible games. I thought they were starting with the plan that was excellent. The playoffs have been phenomenal. You know, you talk about, you look at two games in particular, the Boston, Brooklyn game. Yeah. That was just insane. The level of play, the going back and forth, the intensity of the game. And then you go out west and you see what Minnesota was able to do. Right. And went on the road. It was a great win versus Memphis now Memphis suddenly now has a second seed in the Western Conference and now they're expected to win. So that was a great game, but overall I thought I thought the playoffs have been very competitive. They've been highly contested. And you know what? I enjoyed every moment of it. I can't wait till tonight. And you're talking about my guy Gus Gus is on the Gus and I grew up together in Detroit. So I played against Gus in high school, so I'm so excited. What? Your guts landed. All right, now this is where we settle for a little bit here. Okay. So you played against Gus and I graduated high school together. I mean, at the same time, I went to the he went to the university of Detroit. You would see high school and I went to brother rice high school in Detroit. We played in the same Catholic league and we played against each other, graduated high school together in 85. And I played against Gus in high school. He was a really good player. Is that right? We'll break down his game for me. This was a point guard, smaller guard. He reminds me that he gave me numbers. We can't recall it, you know? We can't recall it. But he was a really good player, very competitive. Always had this great voice. Little guy with this great voice. So to see the excitement, you know, in which he calls the games out. He was doing that at our games, playing pickup. So he was calling your pick up. Oh, I guess he always had a great quote. He always had this energy. He always had that spirit of autumn, so to see it now, and share it with the rest of the world as fabulously. Did all the games always come down to crazy finishes. You know they were. You know, we played at a place called saint Cecilia. Everyone that goes up in Detroit knows that familiar with that place so Gus was there. He was always a little guy with this big voice. And so to see him now doing his theme, whether it's football, and now back in the NBA, it's just fantastic. It is fantastic, and he's calling I came tonight on Turner sixers and raptors. And Celtics game. Yes. And the conversation coming out of it is it's not the way that Kyrie played. And it's not the way that Tatum ended it. It's the double bird that Kyrie flipped. So before we get into that, what was the craziest place you would play and when you would come in as an opponent where you knew that you had to have your game and you know what together? Because you'd hear it from a crowd and they'd be all on. Well, you know, New York was always a very hostile environment. Madison Square Garden Madison Square Garden. You know, the old Boston garden could be a little volatile as well. But it reminds me of when we play then that they were the Washington bullets. There was this fan there that said behind the bench Robin thicker and he was oh yeah. Remember Robin Robin was phenomenal. I mean, he would say anything. He would read from books and everything was on the table. And I just remember Robin doing his thing and everything he said, but there were so many hostile environments back then, you know, Cleveland, for instance, it wasn't like, let's say a love affair with the Chicago teams at that time, you know, Cleveland really had good teams up there at that particular time. Sure. These are the Craig hilo years. And of course, you know, the Detroit Pistons. I was from Detroit and so I expected it. And I knew that what was coming, what was up there. So there were a lot of hostile environments, but you know what? It was just part of the game. You just kind of blocked it out, did your thing, and the best revenge is when you won the game. So it was part of the business and really no big deal at that time. So what did you make of Kyrie flipping the double bird? And then also flipping. He was giving it back to the fans with his middle fingers. Yeah, well, you know, it's a relationship that you gotta understand, you know? As a competitor, I understand where Kyrie is coming from. You know, and I don't want to take away from what he did 'cause he was simply brilliant during that game..

"Rich eisen show studio in Los Angeles. Here's the snap to Murray looking left all the way I knew I should held office. Because it ain't over because I can't believe Arizona would want to hit the reset button and start again. Earlier on the show. Timberwolves head coach, Chris Finch. Three time NBA champion Vijay Armstrong still to come. Caesar's sportsbook chief trends officer, Trey wingo. And now. It's a rich ice cream. Our number three of the rich eisen show is on the air. Everybody, what a great chat with BJ Armstrong in studio last hour, the 30 time NBA champion from the Chicago Bulls back in the day now at the wasserman media group is the VP of basketball operations. For that agency we stop and buy and we talked about the NBA playoffs first round games that we saw over the weekend and Kyrie Irving and the reaction that everybody's having to his reaction to the Celtics fans and then a very lengthy and in depth conversation of the challenges the Lakers now have in front of them with LeBron James aging and Anthony Davis coming off another injury marred season and Russell Westbrook being an either tradable piece but for who or an untrainable piece because of his contract, lots to talk about, but definitely seek out the part of the conversation when he broke out in hives when I asked him if you watched winning time. And the idea of having a version of that for the Chicago Bulls geek teams that he played with and that was what we call awesome. So check that out on our YouTube page YouTube dot com slash Richards and show Chris Finch the head coach in the Minnesota Timberwolves are on an off day and he talked about his team winning game one in Memphis. That was a great conversation there tonight. The sixers and the raptors have game two in Philadelphia and then it's game two between the jazz and the Mavericks in Dallas, which is expected to not have Luka Dončić. What a shame. That is that we are robbed of any playoff action with Luca and the Mavericks of lost game one, not the same team without him, this just in. And then you've got the nuggets trying to get a piece of the warriors tonight and can't wait to watch that game because my team, the warriors and my guy, Jordan Poole will be out there tonight. I just can't wait to watch that. The man love is so real. It is. I got a crush on Jordan. Well, he had me at hollow. Yes. That shot. Against Houston. And I don't mean a rocket. That was a great moment. Him running all around the floor in the entire team chasing him like yeah. He's an assassin. He is an assassin. He's nice. And I can't wait to watch him get better with each passing game. As curry's coming off the bench with the minutes restriction. So that's tonight. Can't wait to talk about it on tomorrow's program. Trey wingo is going to be joining us. Ten minutes from now. I don't know if he's already in Vegas. What do you think? Not yet? If I were him, I would just live there. Well, I mean, he's playing enough commercials with Halle Berry. Trey's doing it right now. Here you go, very good. He's going to be joining us, talk about everything going on. I'm already hearing hot rumors, Jermaine Johnson first overall. No way. People love him. It's wide open, huh? I think it's wide open. I like the Baker Mayfield the year. 2018? I guess we were in Dallas. It's more wide open because if you want to pass rusher, it's your flavor of pass rusher and there's a lot of those there's trevon walker. This cave on thibodeau, there's Aiden Hutchinson, there's your main Johnson. And if you think that he's the best one, you go get him. And live with it. And the domino effect that would cascade off of that would be something else. Also kind of a greater possibility for making a mistake, which is I wouldn't be surprised if more teams try to trade down. Everyone wants to trade down because there's no quarterbacks in the draft. That's it. If I'm the jets, I stay put and I take sauce and be the and just rip the knob off. My God. It's just sitting right there. Ten days from now till I get my sauce or I am sorely disappointed. I want to see rich just go run down there and snatch the car. I said that and you want me to do that. And if it doesn't say saucy rips it up. Right. And then there's Rao's all over my hands from the, 'cause I put the sauce on there too..

"Eleven titles they were not a super team do we. And then by the way. Don't get me wrong when katie and stephan claire playing together. It's a tough out okay. But it is funny about the super teams in your business. The agent business and players ask you about joining forces. Do you ever have discussions with some of your clients and say listen. There's a downside super teams. It's going to be a lot of salaries no bench. I mean i think sometimes it's overstated. How great super teams aren't how they just run the league. And i don't see that to be true. Well you what these super teams have done if they stole the headlines. Okay the game will never be replaced by the three elements of the game right. You have to defend you have to rebound and you have to share the ball. You know instead of saying super replaced which really one word best. Who's the best in the league. And if your best player is the best defensive player jaanus if he's the best rebound or one of the top that means he's going to limit the shot jaanus and now. This young man is playing. What the best player doesn't aliki plays a blended style of play. Which means he can get his players. Involved like khris middleton and drew holiday and by the way he can score forty fifty points and carry the team when necessary so when you peek into that best player stratosphere like he has done now. There's no stopping him. he's the best it doesn't matter because in a forty eight minute game janas can dictate the game. Because he's the best player on both sides of the ball now the super team can dominate teams. Who can't peek into that category. This young man right now is now. He's in that rare. He's in the rare air. We're the only the best players live not the great players the best players he can dictate the game and now it really doesn't matter because he can affect the game without scoring and if he does score if he does get a consistent jump shot. This league is going to be in trouble. Because there's no stopping by the way of you represented as an agent. chris. Paul lakers came knocking. He could out or stay. What would you. What would you suggest crystal has to figure out where he's at in his career. Because you know. Chris paul was playing against. Perhaps the best defensive guard in the league everyone talking about what was wrong with chris. Paul and i just did enough. I can be honest here. He's thirty six years of age and he has two problems. Drew holiday from jrue holiday. Is that good on the defensive side of the ball so when you look at how you win games you know. Jrue holiday is a bigger guard. He's bigger than chris. Paul he just wore. Chris paul down during the course of the series. And he's a terrific terrific player and you can see why everyone in the league. All these executives are always trying to get taller bigger point guards because length is one thing that doesn't go away a smaller guards we require to. We have to have speed and quickness in order to be effective in chris. Paul is thirty six. I mean he's thirty six hour. Yeah good senior. Bj you brought it today. You brought you are mvp. So yeah it is janas league this morning and it's really interesting what he said. I don't necessarily think jaanus needs to be a three-pointer. I think he's so gifted at what he does. I believe he could really use a nice mid range. Jumper four five those if force people to come out but He is it. And i said this earlier that he is physically. There are things you know. I'll i think about this often If you taken the all time greats who would win game a one on one. Like michael against lebron. Lebron is thirty pounds heavier and stronger. And i do think he could've bullied michael in the game a one one potentially and it is prime. Michael was lean and strong but lebron thirty pounds heavier and that's not thirty pounds of doritos. That's like thirty pounds of muscle when you look at jaanus if he could develop a mid range game. There's no player in league history. That could stop him. He's too quick for the kareem's he's just too long. I mean when you start when you start watching some of those things he does last night. You're just like because about two years ago. Co was pushing him away from the basket and he was uncomfortable. But we've seen this. Michael jordan did become a better three point shooter over time. Work ethic and lebron did develop a low post game. That was an issue against the mavericks. And it's always hard work and yoenis. He's outside of four feet their limitations if he develops a twelve footer that length. There's just nothing like i mean. There is just nothing like it on the market. And why shouldn't he. He's developed what he is today. Didn't come in the league this way. No he's not gone. "A sneak peek of him when the cameras not right. So let's talk bucks and son starts tonight. Janas is out for a couple of games and actually the offense was really efficient. And let's talk about that. You know. Michael jordan sometimes misses a game. Are there moments in the short term that the star leaves the floor and actually the ball moves better. I mean you take your career. Sometimes not that michael was a ball stopper but there are moments when stars leave in the short term teams. Do just fine right well. In the short term that is correct colleen and the reason being is because those teams that you're playing don't know how to particularly defend that team so when you're planning against a yawn his team for instance you kind of settled into a rhythm of how we have to defend them with jaanus because he's going to get the majority of the touches suddenly. There's a new team. There's a new game plan. There's guys in positions you haven't normally or not accustomed to seeing them so it takes a game to get adjusted. It'll be interesting to see how. Phoenix phoenix will defend this team minus janas knowing that janas probably would not be there possibly for the entire series. Yeah it's neither of these teams have like lottery. Picks it's a slow bill. That's very nineteen seventies nineteen eighties nba. Where you know we draft. Well we develop we play a bunch of games and then we insert an old smart veteran at point guard. I mean i like that style. I'm bj on both. I understand the super team. And i'm cool with the development when you look at the sons in the box does does it take you back a little phoenix to the eighties and nineties. When you weren't so star driven well. It's the traditional way of building. A team is what you're talking about you know. You're talking about devon booker. you're talking about the andrea evening in your addy pieces to that and it gives them the ability to have a long-term approach when you look at. This phoenix suns roster. You're saying this team buying if they can be healthy you know for the next five to seven years. They could be making a really. You know significant championship. Run here for the next five or seven years in particular with those guys. Then you plug in chris. Paul you plug in you know jay crowder and suddenly now. You have a championship caliber team. So this is how they used to do it. But now you know we're in a different era. We're in a different era now. We're guys are moving around free agencies without question the quickest way to build a team so i understand both but if you want to have long term success clearly with the phoenix suns have done. They've shown us along with the golden state warriors. If you can build it through the draft if you can take your time you can have a championship caliber team for length of time. By the way it's interesting we join. I have discussed this a couple of different times. Let's say devon booker is the finals. Mvp he averaged thirty three games. Great and de'andre eight actually goes toe to toe with the honest and at times. Outplays him and you're sitting there if you own the sons and you're the gm thinking. Chris paul's getting old. He's been hurting these expensive. If booker in de'andre kerry this team primarily to the finals. Do you advocate as gm. For a four year. Chris paul deal or a three year. Chris paul deal. What would what do you do then. Wow that's that's that's a big question. That's that's a big question and that's why those guys get paid the big bucks. We'll say this. We can't forget that. This team did not make the playoffs last year. They haven't been in the playoffs for the last. What ten twelve. Years or so. In suddenly now with chris paul and everything. That's come together. Certainly they have a team. I know chris paul thirty six you know he you know he's at a point guards age where we all know that some point speed and quickness is going to leave all small guards however in today's game and what chris paul's able to do is the intangibles. I think chris has pushed team the edge in particular his leadership his stability and his and what. I love most about chris paul is. We don't expect him to be. Chris paul where he has carry the team with thirty forty points night in and night out he can do it when needy and chris paul has you know. He's been really like a maestro all year well certainly in his career but this year even more so because you can see how will their planned together. This is a beautiful team. They have a nice inside outside combination and those two young players. You mentioned the audrey. Eyton devon booker. They look like they're going to be bona fide stars for many years to come by the way. The sons only had nine different starting lineups all year. Now that that goes back to your bulls. What what what what. What was your bull starting lineup. Gimme the years you were there. What was the lineup. Mostly every night. When i first got there john paxson. Michael jordan scottie. Pippen horace grant. And bill cartwright i think the stability of having your guys and understanding your role in knowing what you have to do and the beautiful thing we had with that team was we had a lot of death and we had two guys who were capable of playing with starters and on the bench. I mean with the bench guys and talk about scott michael. Scottie headed gone early. Michael would play with us and vice versa. So to me the death and the combination of having guys who can plug in coming off the bench gives you a really two teams in one and we certainly had that with michael and scotty because they they they were interchangeable they could play on both sides of the ball so they're really four players at once built up and could play on offense. You know with the stars and the bench ends do do so as well with the defense With the backup guys as well from the wasserman media group the all star the champ three times eleven years. "Middleton can be hot and cold. He's averaging twenty-seven a game in the postseason. He has the most total point over four hundred of any player in the finals. You know he's a basket. He is a terrific young player. He's he's not totally refined yet but he's close he's he's probably about eight and a half to two his ten but i think he is the he's a star he deserves it. He's earned it and he's my number. Two number three would be honest. I think we're only going to get about eighty five percent jaanus. But he's the best rim-protector in the finals. He's the leading score in rebound or of all the players in the finals. And i think we have to be fair here. We're not going to get him at one hundred ten percent but in transition. He is a tough stop now. You can marginalize him in the half court set. But i would put him number three number. Four now gets tougher. I would put drew holiday at number four little more consistent than middleton. He has the highest plus minus of every player in the vinyls every single one both teams. He has more assists than anybody in the finals. He's also a veteran player. Who will put a body on you when you honest got hurt earlier this year. He became the leader and they were a tough out. So he's a guy that you know when he could be aggressive. He's a one for some teams in this league. Not the great ones but he can be a one for a couple of games in this series in. You're fine number five right behind him. Chris middleton he's a shotmaker little inconsistent but he is averaging twenty nine eight when janas was out the last two games. Listen to show his value. The bucks are plus one hundred. Twelve when middleton is on the court in this postseason and minus eight without him so he becomes drew. Holiday is not as good a pure shooter. As middleton is and with a free throw liability. Chris becomes very valuable late in games for the bucks. A number six again de'andre and who is an emerging star in this league. He has the highest field. Goal percentage seventy one percent of any player in the postseason with a minimum of sixty one hundred attempts. You're going to get over fifty percent shooting. Excellent rim-protector alley oops from chris. Paul tons of energy may not gonna move out and hit threes but it does feel like he gives them the necessary muscle. They would need for a brook lopez or janas number seven. A guy like a lot jay crowder. He's the only guy with any finals. Experience between both teams. He has the highest offensive rating true story among all players in the finals. He's a three indy. Guy he can up. He's tuffy smart he's physical and he can hit threes and he always ends up on winning team so jae crowder is one of those guys. He doesn't get talked about a lot. But i just think he has that guy. That won't get the chris paul extension but that's a guy that has a lot more value as mikhail bridges builds than i think most people in the nba get. He's really valuable in this series number. Eight brook lopez. Now i have him higher than most would but he's gonna play a lot more so brooke and hit a three or four you. He's also probably the second best rim-protector arguably with the andre eight and in the finals been around the league bidden big games and again. He's going to get more minutes. I think brooke lopez's is going to be a name. You hear a lot in files. Brooke and play brooks able to play for a long time. A number nine mikhail bridges of the sons. He's a young guy. He's emerging you get eleven point four and a half rebounds a game. He played very well against the bucks in big spots. Now he's not a star but again milwaukee's big team and mikhail's going to be asked to do some things defensively. He's a long thin long player. He's gonna afternoon things defensively. They're going to need him in this series to play some real minutes and number. Ten is cameron payne the backup to chris. Paul cameron's got an odd game. He's very long. He's very lanky but he averaged twenty nine in two games when chris was out. And he's another guy he can get a bucket he just. He's got a weird game. A little george gervin to it. He can get you a bucket. And i also think he's a really important guy for the future of this franchise because he will allow them to sign chris paul to along contract and allow chris paul to take nights off. Allow chris paul to play twenty eight minutes instead of what they're doing with the lakers. Lebron having to play thirty eight minutes. So i think cameron payne. He can spell chris. You give him time and he can get you a basket. So when i look at the ten best players i have the sons. Have the best to. They have six of ten. They have the better coach homecourt advantage healthier and more rast and the only player in the finals with the finals experience. I should say so. I do like as i said. I like the phoenix suns in five or six games. I think tonight. Milwaukee will hang be sure to catch live editions of the heard weekdays at noon eastern nine. Am pacific on fox. Sports radio affects one and the iheartradio app. I'm going to retire. Prickly with kevin durant aaron rodgers. I don't know let's ask. Bj armstrong three time champ all-star he is the executive vice president managing executive for the wasserman media group which is a big deal in los angeles okay. Bj let let let me ask you about that. So when i say prickly it makes it sound like errands difficult or durant difficult. But wasn't michael jordan prickly a little. I think we like interesting. So we'd like a little prickly we like a little softer side. We liked the tough side. We like all the different sides. So the fact that aaron rodgers and tom brady and these guys are showing a part of their personality. It just gives new context to our heroes. We see these guys performing so serious all the time. The fact that they have these personalities just gives gives us a sense or a deeper connection than we originally had as a as a fan. A by the way you didn't deal with social media aaron rodgers and kevin durant. Michael didn't maybe. There was a newspaper columnist. Sam smith that made him mad and then he'd shut him out but but you represent athletes. Do you ever look at athletes and go. Oh thank god. I wasn't around during twitter. What you know it's interesting and You know i. I didn't have to deal with this as a former athlete. In in that era we'd have to deal with but watching guys in particular charles barkley deal with and how he relates to social media in what he's doing and watching that generation and watching this new generation so i see the pros and cons of both but i think having awareness understanding what social media can be four in what it can do but also understanding the things that you don't want to get on social media so there's pros and cons of both both of them but watching my generation look at it. I'm i'm a little bit more hesitant. You know i tend to like wanna just kinda stand back a little bit. But i definitely see when you can expose that side of yourself because it's funny watching aaron rodgers is like i feel like.

I think the stability of having your guys and understanding your role in knowing what you have to do and the beautiful thing we had with that team was we had a lot of death and we had two guys who were capable of with the starters and on the bench. Bj armstrong on a tuesday. Great talking to you. Bj okay. Colin thank you for having you bet sons also in both play about eight nine guys. So there's some flexibility with both rosters. I'll tell you brooke lopez's real player so brook lopez can hit a three. He can protect the rim. He's smart guy he's been in the game forever for a big runs the court okay. So milwaukee's lucky they've built his team to withstand an injury to their star similarly phoenix with cameron. Payne has built this team. To withstand chris paul getting hurt or leaving so the these are well built teams. You got a backup to your star and brook lopez and a backup to your star cameron payne and be sure to catch. Daily pod on the iheartradio app on apple podcasts. And wherever you get your podcasts joy with a news no on the news. This is the third line news. A little bit of news on tonight janas has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable. Oh per game one tonight. He's still recovering from the hyperextended. Knee suffered in game four of the conference finals. But this change on the injury. Report does indicate he's made some progress towards a return. It's changed the line. A little bit sons are favored by five and a half now in game one. Tonight's so it's a little bit. I still don't believe that we will see him tonight. I don't think there's really a value in rushing him back for game one. If you if you expect to have him back at any point in the season. I mean i'm sorry in the series you want to make sure that he's as close to healthy as possible. You don't wanna kevin durant situation where you rush him back. And it's an achilles so on fan. I bet the sons during the series. I don't have. I don't love tonight at to stay away game you. Don't you know a lot of uncertainty about the game. Yeah and and and not that. I know what i'm talking about but you don't have to bet every game like i like the sons in the series the number. But i'd tonight i i. I'll say this that offense without us in half court. The ball moves really well and really quickly and they play they were. They were a handful without yawn. It's in the half court. They're not as good in transition where he can be a great finisher. But i think it's a competitive game tonight. The sons are favored minus two hundred on fox bets. Bucks plus one sixty. I would probably say my dollars on. Tonight's game not knowing what's going to go on with us. I mean even if the honest is back he's not going to be a hundred percent. So what's that gonna look like. It's very clunky. Also styles make fights the first round of a match like when mcgregor face mayweather first round was. Just you just like what remember we were like. What is this gonna look like. Some of this is like what is this going to look like. I need to watch a game. Mcgregor fight this weekend Against dustin hoffman split two fights. That's a great wall. Great fight so chris. Paul is the president of the players association and he defended the seasons quick turnaround and more compact scheduled that a lot of people have been very critical of he stressed that it's a process that allows all.

"An nba owner a self taught guitarist and has guest starred in both the office. And game of thrones keys unhappy with his boss and has no options. Who is aaron rodgers. That is correct. Well projection fam-. I never said my box. I said it not you god i i love the new brady so great. New brady is so much fun. I love aaron's response to it was great projecting. I'm gonna. I'm gonna end up you know. Here's the weird thing. I'm gonna end up really liking. It is inevitable especially because wherever he ends up after. I'm going to be wrote hackers on route from. And i think he's going to have a bit of a what we're seeing now with brady where he's just in this new released space where he's going to speak more freely to brady ann rogers credit although i do think that the environments in new england is a bit more. You know tight with the packers. They're both ben company men for they were both demand for a long time. Listen i like smart athletes. I like funny athletes errands. About a smartness funny when he wants to be as anybody. I think. I need to get over my criticism. And he's a little prickly. I think i need to get over that. That's on me. I think i need to get over that with durant and aaron like i always say. There are a little prickly i am too. I need to get over that. Well i don't think you're prickly. I just think it's something that i'm i don't think i think people have a right to be prickly. Life's not easy. I mean i look at kevin durant and aaron rodgers as they're just they're a little different in their personalities. Have the families that sometimes can make you a little more flexible. I know myself i. I don't have any kids. I don't how it's been like. I do whatever i want whenever i want to do it but i'm aware the people don't have that lifestyle pets. All my plants died. Like it's just me whatever i wanna do all the time and that makes you into a different person right and you look at things differently and you have a little more time for things that other people don't have time for so and you you deal with a lot of criticism and kind of have to absorb it. You're by yourself sometimes the your phone because you don't have responsibilities as dad or i'm going to retire. I don't know if i can. I made it may slip out. I'm going to retire. Prickly with kevin durant aaron rodgers. I don't know let's ask. Bj armstrong three time champ all star he is the executive vice president managing executive for the wasserman media group. Which is a big deal in los angeles okay. Bj let let let me ask you about that. So i say prickly it makes it sound like errands. Difficult or kevin durant difficult. But wasn't michael jordan prickly a little. I think we like interesting. So we'd like a little prickly we like a little softer side. We liked the tough side. We like all the different sides. But but you represent at least do you ever look at athletes and go. I'm i'm a little more hesitant You know i. I tend to like one of just kinda stand back a little bit but i definitely see when you can expose that side of yourself because it's funny watching aaron rodgers is like i feel like we get a sneak peek of him when the cameras not right so let's talk bucks and son starts tonight. Janas is out for a couple of games and actually the offense was really efficient. And let's talk about that. You know. Michael jordan sometimes misses the game. Are there moments in the short term that the star leaves the floor and actually the ball moves better. I mean you take your career. Sometimes not that michael was a ball stopper but there are moments when stars leave in the short term teams. Do just fine right well. In the short term that is correct and the reason being is because those teams that you're playing don't know how to particularly defend that team so when you're planning against a yon team for instance you kind of settle into a rhythm of how we have to defend them with janas because he's going to get the majority of the touches suddenly. There's a new team. There's a new game plan. There's guys in positions you have normally or you're not accustomed to seeing them so it takes game to to get adjusted. It'll be interesting to see. How phoenix phoenix will defend this team minus janas knowing that janas probably would not be there possibly for the entire series. You're talking about the andrea and then you're adding pieces to that and it gives them the ability to have a long-term approach when you look at. This phoenix suns roster. You're saying this team buying if they can be healthy you know for the next five to seven years. They could be making a really significant championship. Run here for the next five or seven years in particular with those guys. Then you plug in chris. Paul you plug in you know jae crowder and suddenly now you have a championship caliber team so this is how they could use to do it. But now you know we're in a different era. We're in a different era now. We're guys are moving around free agencies without question the quickest way to build a team so i understand both but if you want have long term success clearly with the phoenix suns have done. They've shown us along with the golden state warriors. If you can build it through the draft if you can take your time you can have a championship.

She beat freddie to that and what happened to freddie freddie that cautionary tale In our world of. What can go wrong.
