"It's not like the owner of the washington. Football team was in these conversations. That's not being said is like some dude that we fired is no longer here Said these things and you know. I don't know if dan snyder is gonna be able to do that. Holier than thou type thing because he's just guess almost baggage in his own life but it's one of those things where Are are they going to. Try and say oh. This is one of the reasons why we had to get them about here in the first place. It's like no you did and this is not why you got him about a year. You get out of here because you were feeling because of stuff you know you had to turn over this stuff to the to the league and league was wanna find it his like okay. Let's go ahead and try to do some damage control at this point I'm asking this question somewhat facetiously. Is john grooten the one and only or the first of many Well i i doubt thousands and thousands of emails within going back before. How did the one thing. I never caught in the story was how did he get the emails in the first place. How did he goes the investigation at the league is doing into washington state but the emails that he sent about the mark. Smith wasn't anybody if a little washington that i know of i. I think the who. He was sharing emails with he was born back and forth with folks who were so it was a it was a thread Doing with were direct. Mail is a bunch of people on their got him. Don't get me to line. I i don't know the exact particulars of it. But i do know that you know that it wasn't just him and the washington organization. It was him in a thread with multiple people and the way that they found this out because of the investigation into the washington team. That dude there was doing on his work server. It wasn't like he was using his personal email that they didn't have access to he was doing this on his work stuff so when they get the wissies design email works. I send you an email to your work server and then scan your work server. The email i sent you is on. The works are because i sent you the email. That's why jon gruden is caught up in this because he sent emails are applied to e mails and put this stuff in it that hit the washington football team server and when the and when the nfl is doing their investigation. they've gone and grabbed. All this information off of the washington server wasn't like they were inside of gruden's email. They were looking at the emails that he sent or participating in threads with You know folks at washington. He just explained his email servers. Work he just wanna make sure. I got that okay i i just i want. I was like sleepy so you forgot. I was more shocked that he's he's lending. Anyhow email technology works. i was like dear. God what is going on here. I mean i was an exchange administrator at one point in my career. I think we all probably did that. Type stuff at one point but It's it's just amazing to me. So longtime listener of this show. April i was having a conversation with her and discord earlier. Today where. I had made a note of that. Wanna soon see Some type of tool utility that you know just think of grammar really how as you are typing gramley will actually correct not just your Spelling but it'll correct your punctuation. Who actually correct your grammar as you are typing darn near in real. Not darn near in real time. You're going to see Cinnamon engines that come out and do this You know in real time. I don't know for there yet but we will see some stuff that comes out in grabs the sentiment of an email the sentiment of a message in darn near real time and prevents you from sending something this stupid And one of the question. She asked because he says so. You're gonna to be protecting these folks from saying dumb stuff like no more like protecting the company from disseminating it so You know you can have an employee who send some really bad stuff Let's say in corporate messaging system But when it hits if they send it to like a group or they send it to company all or something like that. Then you've got all kinds of problems because people are actually seeing it so that you want actually put something in place to catch it before it ever gets sent. I think you're gonna see those kind of tools eventually. Move right an email as you're typing your email You wanna get hit with. Are you sure you want sit in this or this may violate a certain rules to prevent you from sending those types of messages and you know one. Her responses was so will this change behavior of the people doing it. And i think in some cases it possibly will The you know the fear of losing your job may actually change your behavior but would actually will do is a little may not change. I think but it will definitely change out you at. Because he blamed really trying to get fired over over. Doing this. like in is not a mountain. Anybody's gonna stay on. I really want to be able to say these very races. These very homophobic these very misogynistic things An email no-one standing on that mountain so it will change behavior. And i said this before About when people get caught doing racist stuff you always hear. I don't. I'm not gonna say this because i don't i don't think he's like you said this but this is not what's in my heart. I know that that was something that You know other people have been in these types of situations say well this is not in my heart. I really could care. Less would is in your heart. If i don't know you personally if you're not a family member or for i don't care what's in your heart. What i care about is how you treat me. How would your policies due to me. So if you're saying these kinds of things in a message that's what i care about how collier your heart works around whether or not you're able to actually put that down on on paper or put it in an email that matter to me at all so i think that you know eventually we will see some systems. It'll just thought this stuff before it actually gets sent out. And as i said if. I don't know you personally if i don't You know if you're not a family member. I really don't care what is in your heart. I just hear how you treat me. I want to be treated fairly how you think about me. You think about whatever you want as long as you think does not affect how you actually treat me fairly compared to my peers so Jon gruden should've had. He should've had somebody checking. His emails is like eight. I want us out. Somebody go read for me before before. She said it out. Because it's like dude is there. There's there's no coming back from you know from this I'm not saying that. He's never heard from again but he's never gonna coach team again especially when you have a racist bone body. Hold my beer. Here's some more emails damaging just sell. Just stop it with that nonsense. Here's what i do find interesting about this moment we can. We can change gears is that he checked a ton of boxes on the. I want to be the most horrible person in the world. He checked a lot of boxes. No one is really saying anything you know. Other than guests. He sent misogynistic stuff. He sent homophobic stuff. But when it comes to the racist stuff why are people trying to explain it away like well. Well this is what he meant by you know. He's used the in he. He tried to do that themselves. But it's like yeah i do. How for how long has it been a racist. Trope talking about african americans and black people in general's You know that the size of lips. How how long has been happening in this country. Yeah years like years and you know and it's like w- when you try to rationalize this.

"Most stunning developments. The nfl has seen in years. The new york times published a story about email set by jon gruden to among others then washington franchise president bruce allin over a seven year span. Those e mails reveal three days after a wall street journal piece revealed a racist e mail regarding union had demorris smith included stunningly misogynistic and anti lgbtq language. Hello and welcome to the q. V. nfl podcast. I'm gary grambling. I'm jennifer anti-us uncut war and we're going to talk about jon gruden his emails and the aftermath for him and for the raiders. But we're actually going to start the show with the bigger picture and what is in a way really at the heart of the scandal. One that goes beyond just one head coach. That's the investigation into the washington. Football teams toxic workplace environment. And the fact that all these months later we have no details on what happened. Yeah gary certainly there is plenty to discuss just with gruden himself and the content of his emails the fact that he felt comfortable in engaging this kind in this kind of derogatory language with other people in the nfl sphere the factors that go into encouraging and making people feel like they can engage in that kind of language but the way in which these emails came to light was in conjunction with the nfl's investigation into washington's workplace culture. And so because of that. We can't not ask well. What happened to the rest of the information generated from that investigation in july. The nfl announced that the investigation had concluded but they said they didn't even ask for a written report from investigator. Beth wilkinson that instead they ask. I simply a verbal report because the information was sensitive. So we haven't seen any record of exactly what was uncovered during that investigation. Just the summary of it and that's the nfl's head of investigations. Lisa friel described it as a very toxic work environments. But as we've seen in the gruden case seeing the actual emails once those were made public that only then did he face accountability. And i think in terms of the washington investigation. We need to see what details were uncovered in that investigation and also what is in the rest of the emails that they collected which cover things beyond simply washington toxic workplace so for a small number of emails to be leaked pertained to gruden. Certainly that begins a very important conversation about how. This behavior was allowed. How this person ascended to a very high position of power in the league all of those things but we also need to take a step back and say why are we letting other people off the hook gruden in a way should remind us that this kind of language and behavior is probably more pervasive than we think in the nfl. And here's an opportunity to shine a light on all of it. The entire thing going back to july just bizarre because again. This is an organization that holds these investigations and We got a written report on ray. Rice got a written report on Richie incognito and jonathan martin Two hundred forty three pages on. Tom brady Probably maybe asking to deflate a football before a game and the fact that they just sort of said well you know. We're not gonna put this in writing i. It was lucky it cynical to say but it seems quite clear You don't put it in writing. You limit the possibility of that report getting leaked if you don't want getting out there Which brings us to the point. And we're not doing engage in any conspiracy theories here You know janai when we did. The deshaun watson reporting Over the last six months one frustrating thing is the fact that i mean we spent months tracking people down just work intentive calling every person who might have possibly come into contact with shawn watson and the reaction is well clearly. They didn't do any intrepid reporting. This is a matter of a powerful person just leaking stuff to them and that's why they're reporting this That is not the case. That might not be the case here. There might be some that these things are getting out in the way that they're getting out but right now. It is just bizarre that with all of these data points. The only ones that have become public are about jon. Gruden who is completely. On the periphery of this washington. Football team investigation. Yeah and in the new york times report. They covered a lot of ground and clearly had access to a lot of emails and the ones they presented were extremely problematic. It was notable that even in that small sample size just gruden's will not not necessarily a small sample size but the narrow window of search terms right. Just gruden's emails with bruce allen and some others that there was a reference to photos of washington cheerleaders. I wearing only their bottoms having been exchanged in that That email exchange right so if that kind of back and forth was going on with somebody who was on. The periphery of the nfl Not even with a team at that point then. Shouldn't we know what information was being exchanged along those very same lines Between people in the washington organization. There's just so many pieces of information that we haven't received details about and while the nfl did issue some sanctions to the washington organization. A ten million dollar fine and they have had dan santer step away from day to day activities for several months while his wife. Tanya is out in front. I have to imagine that part of the discipline was crafted with. Well there's not going to be a written report public so we're just going to make discipline based on whatever we're telling the public that we found toxic work environment right because we know a lot of the disciplines levied by the nfl are basically based on public relations. While what would happen if all of those details were released. And what would the discipline look like in that situation and it has to be the question that we're asking now current verizon wireless internet customers. The clarity on that is that $10 million will go to charities, which which Tania, his wife and Dan will choose. So it's a $10 million fine, but it'll all go to an important cause. The other thing. That I think is not insignificant in this is that Dang Dwight Schar, who was one of those minority owners, and a lot of people believed was involved in the smear campaign on on Daniel Snyder has been banned for life. "Five percent range. And with the j j it's like in the mid to high seventies. so it's not a foolproof against getting cove. What what they have told us. And hopefully what. They've explained to players in the washington organization. Which by the way ron rivera said that he thinks close to fifty percent of his players have been vaccinated vaccination and you get covid. You are so much less likely to get sick seriously sick. It almost eliminates the possibility of getting seriously ill. Even if you get covid. If you've been vaccinated but unvaccinated players are subject to different rules in the nfl then vaccinated players so from a competitive advantage situation. The teams with a higher percentage of vaccinated players have less of a chance of losing players for practices and games. So one of the things that could be explained to montez sweat after you get them comfortable. That the vaccinations not gonna kill him or it's not going to make him sick. Is that look dude. You're one of our players if you're going to get tested and by the way it's more than that they're they're not going to be able to interact with other players when travelling no family and friends on the road. They can't eat in the cafeteria and hang out with the rest of the team weight room now. Limits capacity limits apply them not vaccinated players And so it's a little bit more uncomfortable and inconvenient to do your job if you're unvaccinated but back to the competitive thing bottom line is we saw last year you know contact tracing that players out or that player tested positive unit. You won't even get tested if you're vaccinated. You're going to be not only tested but if you are in contact tracing situation you're going to be quarantined so fifty percent of your players if they're not vaccinated you you're to have a cia. There's going to be a pretty good chance that you're going to have players. Even though by the way washington was one of the most successful teams in the league last year remember in terms of numbers of players. I think they only had two positive tests all year. Tommy in one of them was mad. Itis who was already on your right injured reserve great job last year protecting themselves but but the point is from a competitive standpoint before you know outside of the bigger larger conversation about it or not vaccinated. He is putting his team in those that choose not to get vaccinated at a competitive disadvantage against teams that have a higher rate. What did you tell me before. The show. That the raiders near near one hundred percent of all teams. No no. but here's the story. It pro football talk posted this And it's according to a report in las vegas review journal. I remember the raiders. Got in trouble a couple of times last year for violation of covert role in the ravens. Did too big trouble. Yeah But According to the story The number of players vaccinated might be the best in the league There may be competitive advantages for teams that get to eighty five percent of their players vaccinated as the. Nfl is considering relaxing. Certain restrictions on team gatherings for teens that hit the eighty five percent threshold. Report about the raiders. Doesn't give a specific number of players who have been vaccinated. But if the raiders leave the league they'd have to have at least sixty five players vaccinated which is seventy two percent of their off season roster so the radar they. So i'll be see the coaching staff. I see you know. I mean john. Grooten has obviously seen the competitive advantages of leaning on his players to get vaccinated by the way ron rivera today asked about the montana sweat stuff which blew up as a national story yesterday. His comments as did. I think sam darnold's comments to he Is anti vaccination is but rivera said about sweat today after the final day of mini camp. He said he would still try to talk to sweat about getting vaccinated but he said he's not going to go at anybody in denigrate them just because they have a difference of opinion you know he said the young man has to make his own decision closed. Quote and Coaches very good. Very careful in his public statements about.

sam darnold Tommy ron rivera rivera today seventy two percent yesterday Five percent last year fifty percent Nfl eighty five percent two positive tests one montez one hundred percent john. Grooten least sixty five players one of washington

We have some breaking news about now or ago and this rarely happens in the NFL, especially when we're talking about off first round draft pick As a quarterback still playing on his team friendly rookie deal, But we know it's been a challenging year. I'll be nice for Dwayne Askins the incident last week. What she attended the party with some exotic dancers, The optics terrible. No mask insight in the midst of a pandemic Morte to the point he has underachieved. A lot of people thought it was a reach to take him in the first round, with the number 15 pick overall coming out of Ohio State, But there were also a mirror to report suggesting that was a Dan Snyder motivated pick because Haskins grew up for Redskins fan when they were the our words. Local product had a connection to the team. Dan typically gets what he wants so Haskins made the move from Columbus to D. C. Didn't do much. When he was given the opportunity was dreadful yesterday, and it was all the more clarified because it came against Ron Rivera's old team. Haskins then left the stadium without a zoom call and said he forgot didn't know that was the responsibility of starting quarterback. So this was a bad fit from a football standpoint, but the larger perspective is undeniably Ron Rivera is putting his imprint on this franchise, and he's trying to change the culture of the team, and he's been forced to do it in a variety of ways, because Go back to when I was with you. Over the summer, and we got the news that the racist moniker finally have been shelved and the long piece in the Washington Post documenting years of Sexual harassment that, according to the report, was tolerated within the Washington organization. Many longtime employees forced out Rivera also beyond having to try to change the tone of this team between the lines was basically has to be an HR executive as well, and he's taken the next step of trying to fix the broken culture. Haskins pays the price. Wayne saying all the right things as you might imagine on social media tweeting within the hour. My team with Washington my time with Washington football team has, unfortunately come to an end. I think the team and fans for the opportunity to play for the team I grew up rooting for. I take full responsibility for not meeting the standards of an NFL quarterback and will become a better man and player because of the experience. Well, said from the heart. Now Haskins is going to be looking for a new team to play for Washington looking for a quarterback, hoping that Alex Smith can get healthy. If not, it's hi, Nikki time. Taylor got on the field towards the end of that game and played decently in the lost yesterday. And this move is all the more profound because Washington still has something to play for. Fact their game against Philadelphia who's been knocked out of playoff contention in that wretched and F C East German flexed out the prime time It's gonna be the last game of the regular season on Sunday night Football. Washington wins they win the division at seven and nine. But I credit Ron Rivera. Clearly he knows that he's got the backing of dance starter for now. Snyder also, I think has to be very aware of optics surrounding this team, although I didn't care for decades. But thankfully as pressure built up, he had to at least be dragged into this century, and he's dealing with issues away from the team, like another Washington Post report. Of Starter having a settlement with the former Team employees over allegations of sexual harassment and ongoing lawsuit with minority owners about how the structure of the team from an ownership point of view is going to be AH, line so there's a ton going on. In D. C. It speaks of how lousy that division is that Washington still has a chance to win the division championship and host a playoff game. But I'm all in with Ron Rivera. And good for him. And if it cost the team in the short term. Ron doesn't care. Made a lot of money in Carolina. I think he's got job security just.

"I'm sure are going to Go to him, and I'm sure they already have and said, Hey, look, you know and kind of see any has the one to deliver this message. You know what it's like to be in a really bad situation and You were stuck there for a long time. And now you see what it's like, even though it wasn't a good season to be in a more conducive environment for work, and for kind of honing your talents and taking your game to the next level, So I think that that's something that the foreigners will really try toe. Hit him with that. Yeah, you know you maybe you could get a few extra dollars somewhere else. But at this stage in your career, don't you just want to be happy? And don't you want to go to some place or stay some place that you know that you fit in and you know what to expect, And there are no surprises. So that's that's certainly the tact that the 40 hours will use in trying to lock him up to a long term contract. I'm sure they have bonded over their Washington experience. To say the least. And there's a lot of America, right? I mean, you know Chris Forrester. There's Mike McDaniel their style sheet again. Jordan Reed, of course. So, yeah, I mean, there's a lot of people who experienced I was going to say that the highs and the lows, but I think we can just kind of eliminate the highs and just say experience the loads that Washington organization Okay, really quick. I just want to get your your state of the current state of the 40 Niners. I mean, we all know in professional sports, but in the NFL, hey, that the window can close quickly. On an opportunity to win a Super Bowl. Obviously all the sudden, this IRS team has a lot more answers. It seems than they do are questions. I should say that they do and answers because of all the potential free agents they have in the quarterback situation. So are are you are you looking at this team as wind now mode and And they're not rebuilding. They're reloading. What are they doing? Yeah, I would say it's more of a I don't think it's a reload or rebuild. I would say yes, more of a reload because you look at it and they They may stay with Jimmy Garoppolo. They may bring somebody else in, but whatever they haven't the quarterback situation it's for in order for them to move on from Garoppolo. It's gonna have to be somebody that they believe conception and either be an upgrade or Enough of a downgrade or such a small downgrade that it actually has a better effect on the team because of the money. They're saving by moving on from Garoppolo. So you when you look at it if they can re sign Trent Williams, you have you know whoever the quarterback's gonna be. You're still gonna have a good running game with Really Mostert with the help running of passing attack with you, a Samuel brain and I yuk is really emerging into a star. And if Samuel can see healthy, he'll be a star. You have Kittle on the defense's side you have most of you know you have Fred Warner and Andrey Greenlaw. So you know you have talent at every level of this team. Basically in every position group. There's there's some talent there. They just can't enough. Nothing. Any team can withstand the kinds of injuries. Only injury's not only the number of entries, but the key injuries at important positions two really good football players. So is as you look at it. There were five and nine. I'd be surprised they don't finish five and 11. Because they're facing two teams or something to play for in two teams that have a lot more on going for him right now, But even though they're five and 11, let's just say, um They're still a lot of challenge And with all the guys coming back from injuries, assuming those guys step in and play like they did pre injury, I think the France can make some noise next year. Yeah, foundational pieces that have to prove they can stay healthy and stay on the field. So John Lynch has his work cut out for him this offseason. Make it work, by the way. What is that? Clark Griswald looking lighted Prius out in front of your yard. I've seen pictures on social media. Yes. So what? What happened is I have a buddy who he has his Prius in whatever he has a few drinks. He just leaves his Prius wherever it was that he which is good. It's a good example to set um so he's like left his You know his his Prius for a week at a local hotel. Where occasionally will have, you know a pre pandemic beer? Um, and it's been now 11 days since hey, came over and we had some socially distance drinks in the backyard around the fire pit, and he called his daughter to come pick him up. And she did, and he's left his car in front of my house now for almost two weeks, and we put light side that we've just kind of made it part of our Christmas motif. I love it. I love it. Well done. Well done. Yeah, It's very Clark Griswald. Like I look. All right. Well, you know what Merry Christmas. Enjoy this holiday season and the final couple weeks. I'm sure the off season will be very busy for you as well. But I really appreciate you taking time for me a lot to get to. Ah, news wise, so I needed you today. All right. Well, it's always good to be wanted. And let's catch up at some point later off the air. "Eugene, Oregon, talking about the name change of the Cleveland Indians on the grass show on CBS Sports Radio. What's up Tone? Yeah, Native American. I really actually been a fan of the Cleveland Indians. Of course. I was a fan of the Washington Redskins. But I really don't understand why The small groups people are available to rename Thanks for the rest of us. How much do you think of it? A small groups of people getting named changes versus capitalistic businessmen, owners doing it for money, monetary reasons. Well, actually, actually, I believe that was not the whole intent of the names on him. Uh I'm Iraq. Indian, Northern California Coastal I I understand about a native American pride and wherever stepped out I'm there. But I don't not believe that that Had Of the corporate corporate people, they they have actually to come to the People that actually don't understand that. A lot of us actually take that as a As a bright, bright thing that that was there that the team was named after an Indian are named for Indians. Well, Tony, I think you can spend it two different ways right? You could look at it and say Oh my God. It's disrespectful that this team is still using the phrase Indians When if they really wanted to and wanted to double down on it, they could embrace the Native American community. They could be a part of telling stories. Or at least you know, depending on how they would decide to go about it. Maybe they end up using the name as a way to further Native American initiatives to be able to keep certain things out there that people have forgotten about because again, history's taught to most people it is it is not. Ingrained in most people to go search out the truth of history. And the way things are taught to school Children in this country. You wonder, you know, OK, what is the tale of history that is being taught to our school kids right now? There could have been good to could have come out of that. And the reason I bring up quite honestly, the money. Part of it is because If we just come right down to it. I think that's why all these team names changing. You know, the, uh the Washington Redskins were ultimately going to have to change their name. Because I think Indian verses Redskin. There's a different connotation to it. If you read up on it a little bit. I think you could take that a little differently than what they were doing, maybe necessarily in Cleveland, but the sex scandals and the issues within The Washington organization. It expedited the process off what they needed to do down there anyway, which was to move on from that name. I think there was a little bit more of a sense of urgency with getting rid of the name of the Washington football team. Then there was here with the Cleveland Indians. That said, Let's not think that an owner somewhere or someone in the Finance Department of all these organizations that were looking to maybe make these kind of changes like this. That they all didn't you know, go to the being counters and say OK, how of other teams have been affected by this? How would we be affected by this? Well, you know what? Let's get out in front of him and again. I go back to In the media there times where you could do a news dump. It really doesn't know what a news dump is. It's normally when you know, like a state or political campaign or a governor or No, it's the old Friday At four o'clock, you send out a press release of something really bad, and then it gets lost in the ether..

"More of a Michael Jordan guy. Now that you have longer hair it feels like now you're became a LeBron Phil. I think 8%. Of the Jordan legacy is the iconic shaved head. And I think 14% of it is the sneakers. I really believe it like I'm selling you this. I am literally wearing Jordan sweat pants, and I'm like, damn You didn't get the marketing You and I will always wonder about this with LeBron if LeBron had lost a Siri's like collided You know, we would still be we would still be talking about that. Well, like he's getting critique for winning the final poker. Of course, of course, so I think there were two instances in these playoffs where you saw How hard it is to be LeBron Jimmy Butler was LeBron for a night and it was unbelievable in Game five, and you know what it did to him. It ruined him for Game six because he was spent Huai Leonard for the first time in his career. Enter the playoffs. Siri's where it's like, man. If we don't win this, they're going to crush me for the first time in his career for a playoff series. He had to be LeBron where it's like, man. Well, it's lose. There's no wind for me here. We're supposed to win. And if we lose, I get killed. And by the end of it He's going over in a second half of the game seven like that, that weight of the expectations that LeBron is dealt with every step of his career. It's pretty unprecedented and I and we're talking to Nick right co host of first things. First on Fox Sports one The thing that I bring up and I'll leave you with this is That we miss out sometimes because we don't like a player. For some reason. I didn't like Bjorn Borg because he always beat John McEnroe at Wimbledon, and I didn't appreciate Bjorn Borg and they're certain players you would watch when you're growing up, and you just didn't I didn't like the Orioles. They always beat the Cincinnati Reds. Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson. And I just I caution people. You may not like LeBron for whatever reason, but appreciate this. You'll never see this again. Somebody who at 35 reinvents themselves and it's still the best player in the game. And he does it on a big stage in the bubble degree of difficulty crazy, and we're going to still somehow find fault with him, But yeah, And you know what? We're that really hit home with me and straight point by you. Is and I don't mean to bring it down at the very end. But when Kobe passed because I wasn't a Kobe guy, so I was always nit picking. You know what I mean? I was always like, Well, what about this? What about that? And I don't and I love basketball. But I don't think I fully appreciated what he was doing when he was doing it. I was picking that so I could be guilty of that myself. Then all of a sudden he's gone and you're and you revisit. You're like, Oh, my God. Like this guy, all the things he did. So I do think that is. I think it's a great point by you. I wasn't much of a board guy either, though. Seems like a jerk. I'm just kidding. I wasn't alive. Good to talk to you keeps turning can tell your audience one thing about you. Oh, Dan. Patrick and I have never met in person. And damn, Patrick, on three separate occasions has called me to check in on me. See how I'm doing and to give me career advice. He is a really, really good man. Despite some questionable sports takes a times I want people to know that Thank you. I appreciate it. And I appreciate you. I'll call you later. Okay, That's Nick. Right? He's co host. First things first on Fox Sports. One eye, There's certain members of the media. Evan Cohen, who does mad Dog radio. I think he's got a lot of talent. I think Nick's got a lot of talent as well. There's certain guys, you just have fresh ideas and takes and they're not afraid, Tony reality. I just like that They do their research. And you know, Nick doesn't you know, cheat off somebody's paper. He always has some things that he brings, And I appreciate that. You know, another person I think is a star that nobody talks about Miss Shannon Sharpe. I think Shannon Sharpe is the star of that show with Skip Taylor's like If you listen to him, there's no stick and gimmick like he's got fax there. And these air athletes who normally come in and probably take a shortcut here. Hey, all we do is get in front of the camera might talk or get in front of a microphone. Chen and Sharp has well thought out. You know, ideas and opinions and very smart stuff. My opinion. Right. We're going to take a break. We'll get phone calls in about 15 minutes. Alex Smith of the Washington football team will join us and what a journeyman Not a journeyman, but what a journey, man. Getting to this point and I guess you can you give him comeback Player of the year right now, after five weeks Don't be hard pressed if you go Hey, what did you come back from? I came back from Ah, you know, I had shoulder surgery and Cam Newton No comeback Player of the year. Alex Smith. Well, I nearly died. I nearly lost my leg and just the fact that I got on the field this past weekend. Yes, he could have come on the field and just taken me or hinder the bull of once and went right back out. And to me, That would be enough that he was suited up and actually was able to be out there for one NFL player. Somebody in the Washington organization said they thought that they might do a ceremonial. This is prior to the start of the season, a ceremonial moment. For Alex Smith, where they let him on the field in uniform. And then he goes out there and basically takes any takes the snap..

"Can you give us a sense of the build up to the publication of this report? So there's been a lot of drama swirling around the Washington football team, but suddenly started to get all of these dots that you could start connecting. There's a lot going on within the front office. That really doesn't add up firings in retirement in July in the NFL. Rarely happening tonight. We're! And we're too high level personnel executives who were abruptly fired and Alex Santos in Richard. Man were fire. No reason was given as to why they were fired. Then today, longtime radio announcer for the Washington football club Larry Michael announcing his retirement, he spent sixteen years with the team, the man who had been there the radio voice, he abruptly retired without any sort of official comment from the team, and he started to hear this buzz rumors flying about a potential bombshell report on Washington's football team and owner Dan Snyder. This is absolutely taken over social media with speculation running rampant then by Thursday afternoon. The Washington Post dropped the story. There fifteen women who went on the record, alleging widespread sexual harassment within the Washington football organization that spanned just about Daniel Snyder entire time that he is owned the team, so these were women who works across the organization in marketing and ticketing and finance in there were also two female reporters, one who formerly covered the team for the Washington Times and Rianne and Walker our colleague from the athletic, who also went on the record to accuse one of the men who had? had been fired of sexual harassment as well. It was the sprawling account as you mentioned fifteen women accusing sexual harassment in Washington. Can you summarize some of those accusations? Yes, so it was a lot of the very classic cases of sexual harassment things from making lewd comments about women's bodies about their breasts about their rear ends about the the clothes they were wearing to very overt sexual comments, propositioning requests to go on dates, just a lot of overall inappropriate workplace behavior. Behavior from superiors directed at female employees, and it did not seem to be a secret. Some of these women who went on the record with the Washington, post talked about how the other people who worked in the organization knew about it. They talked about it amongst themselves. There were places in the building where women were advised not to go. Specifically, there was a stairwell that had basically transparent stairs and women were told. Do not go there because there were men who. Who would stand underneath that and look up? Their female colleagues skirts all of these things that are blatantly inappropriate and wrong and workplace environment, but had been persisting for more than a decade, all fifteen of these women went on the record, but one of the few who allowed her name to be published is a woman named Emily applegate. What was her experience like working inside the Washington Organization? It was miserable it really most people know times a comment on my appearin. Screaming at you for something that you, it's not your fault. And then somebody makes a comment to you about what you're wearing and it just snowballs from there. <hes> she cried at work regularly, she felt belittled, imagined us being called stupid on a daily basis, and then also almost in the same breath being hit on for your appearance. It's a miserable work experience. Experience to the point where she no longer wanted to work there anymore and no longer even wanted to work in sports, and we should note that Emily applegate's former boss Mitch Gershman who was the team CEO at the time both denied and said he didn't recall conversations referenced by Applegate, telling The Washington Post quote I can't comment on something I can't remember. But Lindsay what actions has the team taken in response to these accusations from emily applegate, and the many other women, well many of the men who were accused in this story, all ready been fired, and we're kind of fired in the process of the Washington Post. Reporting this story, the team can say that has taken measures to address this because some of these accusations date back to the early to mid two thousands, so some of these people no longer actually work with the team and then some of the people. People that had new allegations have immediately been fired or left the team. They've started their own investigation. They hired an attorney Beth Wilkinson. The name might sound familiar over the last several years. Wilkinson took part in notable cases involving Hillary. Clinton Brett Cavenaugh and Michael Flynn and she told us we can confirm that our firm was retained by the team to do an independent review of the team's culture policies and allegations of workplace, misconduct and Daniel. Snyder and his wife sent an internal email to everybody who works organization to. To apologize for the culture, the statement saying in part, the behavior described in yesterday's Washington Post. Article has no place in our franchise or society. The story has strengthened my commitment to setting a new culture and standard for our team, but without specific apologies to any of the employees into these women, and there have also not been any public apologies to the two female reporters who were not team employees. The team has not publicly addressed them as well

And then somebody makes a comment to you about what you're wearing and it just snowballs from there. she cried at work regularly, she felt belittled, imagined us being called stupid on a daily basis, and then also almost in the same breath being hit on for your appearance.

"A read for everybody in the Washington Post story that had been rumored all week to come out has come out 15 women. I have accused the Washington Redskins of sexual harassment. One woman went on the record 14 of them have used there. Their names have not been used because of some legal matters. Well, they had not that I think that I Yes. What is the eyes? Not the ring and the dark. So and it's just It's just a toxic culture. Someone who worked in the Clinton administration who had worked for Dan Snyder before she said She has never seen anything quite like it with the tax tax ID attacks. Toxicity. Yeah, I was just going to go back to taxi culture. That she saw there and again the HR. Some people have accused him for not even having an HR department and many of these people have been fired in the last week, just like the name change has been announced in the last week, and we'll see what kind of action the NFL takes against Dan Snyder when it comes to this, go ahead, telling quote from Emily Applegate, as Sylvie said, she's the lone voice on record. It was the most musical experience of my life, and we all tolerated it because we knew if we complained, and they reminded as they reminded us of this, there were 1000 people out there who would take our job in a heartbeat. So that just goes to show you. You know, they they do. They willingly knew what they were doing. And they would take advantage and pray in a predatory fashion on the women across the organization. Yeah, this is again. I don't know how I don't know how the group of NFL owners and league itself doesn't come together and say You know what? Probably good idea, Mr Snyder that You move on from the NFL. This is what Darren Rovell tweeted about 17 minutes ago. And you know, the business of sports is what he does, he wrote sorry to disappoint Redskins fans, even in the cancel culture. Even in the cancel culture. That story, while horrific isn't going to take down Daniel Snyder. I don't I just don't know about that. I mean, yeah, He's getting a lot of backlash for that tweet, right? Yeah, I like my gut says says the opposite that you know for people from what they've done and gotten canceled that This is years and years. This is multiple women. This is from top to bottom of the organisation. This is them not responding until the story was about to be released. I would not go there. I'm surprised by that. I'm not guaranteeing that he's I just feel that this is there's all A lot. They're bigger is less tolerance to this type of behavior. Now, versus even a few years ago like this completely like I mean, look, we know it was It was driven by money. The reason that they're changed their name, but it calls into question the fact that Daniel Snyder finally after years and years of basically saying it was never going to be done. Finally the week that they that this story is going to drop Does it days beforehand like are you? Are you legitimately thinking that changing your name is going to in some ways, you know, cover up this story like it's even worse. All this stop that. They They protected it. They protected that they protected these people until they were caught. Like, how dare you like I mean, really like you guys did internal investigations. This has been called out before, and you guys didn't do a thing. But now before a publicly is come out, and you're trying to save your ass and I think that's even worse and I think that's another thing The NFL needs to look at. I want a list for you when we come back the amount of the titles involved in the Washington organization..

"What stood out to me was when he said like Joe was at hinted Senator was it in my brain. I mean, the buffoonery stood out to me. The don't make an ask for Mickey mantles phone number because he was so angry that he was like, I mean jersey number. I don't think you can call Mickey Mantle right now from honest. But when the thing that stands out is like, he if your jokes is men, you can't really say, no, right? Right. Because then there's a headline. That's like joked is meant didn't is rookie quarterback from wearing his number. Like, you shouldn't be the organization should be put in jobs is meant in that position. Yeah. Uh-huh. It quarterback. No. But they shouldn't you shouldn't. I just feel bad for Joe thighs. And it's a lose lose situation. He probably wants to be like, no, dude. That's my number. You cannot have it. But then he knows that could become a whole storm. All right. So the Washington team should be protecting him and making sure that that's not a thing that happens. I think his I think his point about like calling them up and asking for Mickey mantles phone numbers. Probably like he had to go through the Washington organization to get Joe thighs men's number. Thanks to call him and put him in this age engine. Maybe he could have gone through agent. I think he misspoke because he. The sort word wrong. You don't. Tony truth or? Sorry to be so loud. But there's also an interesting question here with this the concept of retiring numbers is one of those things that does not it's not a very forward thinking idea about sports because it's like we're going to run out a number swell. Here's eventually regatta run out a number into the triple digits like not life. Oh numbers shorter and the mo-, Mike. No because we just didn't have to dial the area code if you're calling from the same area could no. But before that phone numbers were shorter have much shorter. I think there was no older. You were pretty old. We absolutely had area codes. You just only had the dial them a few was outside of yours. I used to have to like you could call your best friend and just do like six two six. Oh, five three five that was my old house number from framingham. Way way long ago. It is not our number. And so not call that Tolima voicemail for the show. Somebody's not mine but used to be able to call I could probably remember like my old friends house numbers. That's still funny, but you didn't have to call five away or Iram. Isn't that weird? What a ways there's like a referee, respect brain. That's so strange. But that's because we had to dial them all the time. Yeah. They weren't just saved..

"We were doing some research on cartoons talking about it. And what I think Sean brought up speedy Gonzales. And this stuff is not cool, man. Runnings? Josh Juanita leaving in dropped or same. I did. I. That's one insignificant drop too much. Was wandering Daffy. Shoot them. Gosh, shotguns. He's the camel has I said as children we were not aware, but the adults that did this. They knew exactly what they were doing this speedy Gonzales just a random. Speedy Gonzales, names, bad, man. So basically, he was a he was seeking asylum and the government said, no, I didn't know Daffy was involved in their word. I didn't either. Yeah. That's why I'm speedy. That was yes. Yes. Arab doc we. Down there in the desert with the camel senior Arab. That's what I thought. It said Travis this is the cartoon. I know what it is. They wouldn't dare do that in this day and age so you wouldn't know where the byproduct of yet. We'll see sweet. We'll see. All right. I'm gonna sue myself. It feels like we've been headed towards Kyle Murray's the number one pick for a while. Now, then everything kind of snapped into place coaching change that cliff Kingsbury was there guy that Kingsbury said that that's the guy that he would take number one long before he was even the coach Arizona. He said that column or is a little bit taller than I think people were expecting to be. He broke minimum agile five ten threshold by an eighth of an inch fame size Rosh. And now Peter King is saying that if in fact, Carla Marie goes number one to era Zona that that means that Josh Rosen, obviously will have to be gone, and that the Washington organization is quote favorite in the clubhouse to make a deal for Josh Rosen that that seems to make some sense that makes sense. Yeah. You gotta think at the age and the gruesome this of the injury that Alex Smith he's pride done. It's probably done the backup situation there chemo. Case keenum, he can get you through McCoy, he apiece right McCoy still there. Well, here's the thing. Josh rosen. We don't know he was on a terrible team with a coach that was there for one year. The didn't have. The worst team in the league. Look Josh Rosen didn't play well. But I don't think you can look at what Rosen did last year and say he can't play based on what we saw the team was dreadful. Yeah. You can't do that. But I think that this is a positioning of the cardinals position themselves get out of the one in move down. That's all there because they have any interesting column written about I do not think I think at the end of the day. Remember what I've always said about the draft. It's a Bill to breakdown build up breakdown Bill backup in them from by the time, you build it all back up breaking all the way down you already into the draft. That's what Aaron is doing their one minute. Is this next one that tell you this? They tell you that another team says they said that it's all positioning. I don't believe that they traded the picks to move up year. Go to get Josh Rosen right less than a year you already moving on from me with a new head coach in a new system. He started right? Head coach is Knut with zero power. I. Agree interview, given him who failed at Texas Tech the power to make a decision altering life changing decision for your organization to select a quarterback who's unproven at the professional level along with unproven head.
