"NL Central in today's episode. So I wanted to end with some fun and today's top five list last week. I gave you guys the top five most intriguing world series matchups that I would enjoy this upcoming season today. I'm going to give you the top five ballpark foods that I want to try all around the country here out of the thirty some ballparks even more than that if you count the ones that have been replaced like veteran's stadium with citizens bank park but let's jump into it here. Let's talk about the top five foods that I wanna try throughout the country will rank them five to one starting with number five as skeet dais in the La Dodger Stadium in dodger stadium. It is corn and a cup topped with Mayo Cheese and topped with spicy a baby. That sounds good. Sweet grilled Corn Mayo Kohia Cheese AAA OLI and a souvenir. Many helmet meant for ice cream. I love me some street. Corn that Spicier. Oli who baby get it out in La. I'm sure it's going to be delicious. So that's number five number four. We're talking about the Pittsburgh cone. Listen to what's in this Pittsburgh Cohn. This is pretty outrageous if you ask me here. The Pittsburgh cone features kill Basa Perogie Swiss cheese SAUERKRAUT and Russian dressing all of which is served in a waffle cone. What that let me kill Basa Perogie Swiss cheese SAUERKRAUT and Russian dressing all in a waffle cone. Now it's almost too much but that's why I needed to try it because I enjoy all those things now. Granted it's usually separate in in in moderation throw it on a waffle cone. You may be onto something there. All I know is you're going to need quite a few Napkins to put that one down if you're going in Pittsburgh to PNC park number three. Is the Frito Pie? Corn Dog with the Houston. Astros down there in Houston completely over the top and delicious. The FRITOS Pie. Corn dog is a foot long hot dog dipped in housemaid fritos badder than it is deep fried covered in free does caso Blanco and Texas chilly. So you basically get a deep fried hotdog. They put on the hot dog and then they top on it with cheese and Chili and Fritos and Oh baby look at that. Oh man looking at a picture. A deep fried hot dog that just takes it to the next level right off the bat. I don't even know. Can you handle a deep fried hot dog if I ever get to? Houston I'M GONNA find out so that one looks delicious moving up to number two. We have the bone in smoked beef short trip. This one is offered at the Washington National Stadium. So if you're in the nation's capital and you want to check out some awesome barbecue head. No further than the ballpark because L. Let's see here at about a smoked bone in beef short. Rip Based on the context. Here they basically give you a couple pounds of this short ribs available at old hickory barbecue. Stand who knew man that looks delicious and number two. The other ones are a little bit crazy escape day in. You Know Street Corner. Nothing crazy that Pittsburgh cone in the Frito Pie. Corn Dog obviously are a little bit outside the box? But this one just gets me to the core and who doesn't love good old fashioned barbecue. Being able to sit down at the Ballpark at the game. Have the bone in short rib. Who THROW THE DIFFERENT BARBECUE? Sauces on their adult beverage. If you're of age if not a nice coca cola thrown down with the barbecue with the family at the game has nothing better than this summer. So hopefully we can get out to the ballpark soon enough. Just thinking about it man. It's making me a little bit hungry here. I may have to step away from recording getting the kitchen and make some barbecue for myself. It's it's pretty outrageous. But my number one ballpark food that I want to try here and it's at a stadium that I've actually been at. I haven't been there since I lived outside of Dallas Texas in two thousand and two in that. Is the Texas Rangers Stadium Now? They're moving to a new stadium so I I would assume this one would come with it. This food option would come with it for twenty twenty and not be left in the dust for twenty nineteen once again. I'm going off kind of last year's options just due to everything going on this year but this one is called the foul pole and it is offered by the Texas Rangers. It is pretty outrageous. It is a two pound chicken tender the thing about two pound chicken tender chicken fingers. I. It's a two pound. It almost looks two feet long. Furry chicken tender it is served on a bed of waffle fries and obviously all the different dipping sauces. But this brings me back to my middle school days where I would pack a lunch every day to school and then there was one day a week where I was able to get lunch money and purchase lunch and obviously they have all the different options as a middle schooler but every time because it was once a week I would get that large order a chicken fingers and that large order of French fries. Barbecue sauce honey mustard ketchup. Oh man but two pounds of chicken ten not even tenders. It's the fact that it's a singular chicken tender two feet long to pounds known as the foul pole offered by the Texas Rangers. But I would love to hear from some of our listeners out there in the comments section. If any of you have tried any of these food options whether it's skeet day out in la the Pittsburgh cone obviously offered in Pittsburgh the frito Pie corn dog by the Houston Astros the smoked bone in beef short rib and then the foul pole down the Texas Rangers. Let me know in the comments. Out there and That's a good transition speaking about the comments if you're new to the program GS MC. Baseball has a twitter page as well as a facebook page instagram page. And then we also have a G..

"I would encourage of Iran. Li like the hatchback fear Nashville those so clay. Quick question for you. You're looking at this race. Obviously and one of the things that we've seen your your sports guy we've seen over the past few years sports become so incredibly politicized. How do you think that breaks down for election? Twenty twenty. Obviously there's a lot of opposition to trump in in sports land? I I assume that that exacerbates with Joe Biden at the top of the ticket but Biden seems a little bit less less interested in jumping into the culture wars than Bernie Sanders trump. Do do you. Do you think that sports will continue to be what has been for the past few years? Yeah it's so fascinating such a good question so I was at the Alabama Lsu game down in Tuscaloosa that Donald Trump with that I was at the Lsu Clemson for the National Championship that Donald Trump was that and I think he's made how related decisions whether to Daytona five hundred wipers southern folic football to go to places. Art Washington National Stadium where everybody booed him and I think that reflected of it really matters what run out from wildly fear you file three tiered in the south say at the Daytona five hundred and I think Perspective we know? Joe Biden is eager. Take Away he's a big fan of Carson Wentz. He's off a lot about it. And I think that really factors in in a big way guys agree but when he talked about Donald Trump won the state of Pennsylvania Michigan and Wisconsin by a total of. About seventy seven thousand. Vote that smaller than the stadium. At Penn State or Michigan or Wisconsin. It's crazy small number of people that are going to be involved and I think from October and November. I'll is proposing arts because again this is a enright. Who did you vote for? I went in I. One hundred percent opposed to burn rate. So I went in this afternoon and I voted for Joe Biden is I thought he had the best chance out of the race. Did you not hear what Mike Bloomberg with paying for voters to low? I shoulda pocketed the cash but no I. I looked open primary here in Tennessee. So you can go vote on either side and the number one goal for me more so than anything else is make. Sure that Bernie's not elected president. I consider myself pretty middle of the road died. There's one hundred percent voting for Donald Trump If they was Bernie verse by matching. That's as per a lot of people who were very middle of the road. I think that by not that it's going to matter on Tennessee fronts with a state by twenty plus points but I think that you really look at At race I think there are a lot of people who would consider buying. That would never have considered Bernie. And that's why if I'm Jay in the White House I have to look at. This is the Democrats that made a admire out diabolic. Will you can ask what the the the biggest sports story of. The trump administration political story has been trump's defiance toward the NFL and the did kneeling at the flag. How does that? How does that read sports fans? I have to say I was completely on trump's side on that issue that these guys who were in their corporate uniforms they should be saluting the flag that is obviously the country that supports their sport but just sports fans look at that and think that trump is intrusive or do they look at it and think yeah about time. Somebody said this. I've argued that calling avenue taking a knee could have been the difference for Donald Trump and they think presidents or big football fan and I think when you look at seventy seven thousand vote margin in those state not crazy for me to think that people could have sworn there elected I agree with you got when you are at work in uniform. You don't have the right to advocate for any political beliefs that you have. I mean if you were working in McDonalds and somebody walked up in order to hamburger from you and no meat is Murder Donald whether you agree or disagree with it. Standing for the national anthem is good for the NFL's business. And I think the owners recognized that Roger. Goodell was too afraid to actually stand up to Colin Kaepernick. Remember David. Stern had the same issue with your road in the NBA. The immediately suspended him and said No. No no you're not playing in this league and it disappeared. I really do think that. If that's the route that that Never.

"How are you? Axios is everywhere. And I have sources that say that you still go to congressional baseball practice. Was there this morning Roger Williams, our coach we started six o'clock in the morning, and I'm not a morning person. But I get out there every day. It's actually a lot of fun to get out and move around a little more mobile than last year. So we're trying to just keep getting better. But I do physical therapy days a week to to keep building up strength, and this conversations with your colleagues indicating that this baseball is no gaining. It's serious business. You know, it's it's it's a very fierce rivalry the Republican plan. The Democrats came for almost a hundred years, and it actually get over ten thousand people come to the major league ballpark. Just just how cool is able play a major league ballpark. Washington nationals stadium, but we raise about a half a million dollars every year for local charities here. And it's a great way to build relationships. Not just amongst Republicans on the team, but we actually had to be good friends with the Democrats and it's competitive. But it's a friendly competition. We wanna win this year. We're gonna win this year. But Cedric Richmond might not even make the whole game. We're going to say that we little trash talking as well done business used of house majority in your title. Now, you have house minority and your title Republican. What can you do besides vacant noise? Well, obviously being in the minorities different than in the biggest. The worst part. You don't set the agenda and the things that we would like to do and move through the house and the Senate get to the president's desk to keep getting this country back on track. You can't do that. Because Nancy Pelosi the speaker, and clearly she's got a very different agenda and her conference even more. I think radically left than when she was speaker last time. So we do have some limited tools in the minority and we've been making very good use out of them to to show the country. What we stand for some import issues. So you personally as House Republican whip have had success on the floor using some of these limited tools. I don't want you to talk about most recommit, you may not say that. But what is your approach in to using any muscles or levers, the minority? Does have. Well, the first thing that we want to show the contrast between Arkansas principles why they're going to be better to keep the economy going, and we're seeing great success in economy because of what we've done, and then you look at some of the bills that Nancy Pelosi has moved through they've been very far left. And it's an important contrast to show. And so when we use some of these other tools, we want to number one make sure that we can show people what we stand for our contrast with some of the things that speaking is bringing to the floor after the Miller report came out, you said the Democrats who the American people and apology. Just heard German Schiff. I don't think you got it. Well, you know, it's almost like they're doubling down and ignoring what was in the report in the important thing to note is for two years. They were running around promising the American people that there was collusion. Don't worry. We've got stronger than circumstantial evidence that there was collusion. Well, there was no collusion. And if they had this evidence that after almost two years, and tens of millions of dollars taxpayer money to go and look for it. They didn't find any. So they've got some secret information they should have come up with. But there wasn't on. And so instead of admitting that they were wrong. They just continue to go down this rabbit hole of now. Let's hold the the attorney general in contempt. I think probably the first time in the history of our country where somebody was held in contempt of congress for not breaking the law because the attorney general to have complied with their request of chairman Nadler his committee. He would have been in violation of the law. That's ludicrous. It isn't this is where they're going instead of focusing on from thing about this. There's a crisis at our border many days wherever more than four thousand. Thousand people cross the border illegally. Jay johnson. Who was Brock Obama's homeland security secretary said it was a bad day for him. When he saw that the day before over a thousand people crossed illegally today. We're seeing more than four thousand cross in the committee of jurisdiction you would think would be holding hearings on how to solve this crisis at the border. And instead they're holding hearings to hold the attorney, general contempt and continue to go down this, which on rabble. So the president is pursuing a run out the clock strategy with the house majority were top story on axios today outside advisor to the west wing saying that the idea of refusing document requests subpoenas is not an opening bargaining position that as an out as president does that's administration policy is this approach going to work. Why I think the president's been right and number one complying with the law, but also in focus on doing his job. He was elected to help get this country back on track. And it's working. I mean just last week. We saw some of the best jobs numbers that we've seen in decades. Forty nine year low of unemployment wages are up for hardworking families. These are the kind of things we should be celebrating. And it said Nancy Pelosi agenda is to reverse that to push seventy percent. Marginal tax rate to have green new deal where they literally ban fossil fuels in ten years. You can't fly around on airplanes. And they get rid of cows. I mean this stuff is laughable, but this is what they believe in. So that's that's the contrast again, where President Trump is going to be in Louisiana next week to highlight one of those great energy successes. We're exporting liquefied natural gas. We're helping our allies around the world, by the way, they don't have to get their energy from Russia and other countries that we don't like they can actually get American energy it creates jobs. It lowers their their electricity rates. It lowers our electric rates and you see police his agendas to reverse that house minority whip Steve Scalise with Mike Allen of axios the prize the Democrats haven't moved faster on impeachment. Well, I know that they're still moving towards impeachment. Whatever the is not. Well, there's of it. I mean, Nancy Pelosi knows it's a losing issue for him. It's something they shouldn't be doing all of our liberal tenants underneath keep talking about impeachment. Even though there's no fact to back it up, and look this is what angers people most about politics. They're real problems that people want us to focus on solving and Pelosi got the majority rightfully wrongfully on messaging, but they have a responsibility to govern. And they can't they didn't even pass a budget. We passed a budget out of committee every single year in eight years, we were in the majority. They've already missed the legal deadline and have no plans to bring forward even a budget. Do you think they ultimately will move to beach the president? I think they will. I think they're basis so rapidly anti-trump and to govern over hatred of person is not the way you should use your power and abuse of power, but I don't think they can help themselves. So when you and I were pre gaming, the I said, you wanna talk healthcare and people in both parties tell you that healthcare is part of the reason the you have house minority in your title, how can Republicans get back on the offensive on energy? I think we didn't do a good enough job last year of letting people know what we stand for and healthcare. You know, the Democrats brought a lot of things that were inaccurate and lies. I mean, preexisting conditions. We want to protect preexisting conditions. And in fact, we've brought forward a number of proposals. That would help people with preexisting conditions in all families that no they're paying too much in healthcare. The biggest problem healthcare is that people are paying too much in many cases, they're seeing twenty twenty five percent increases every year. People would preexisting conditions. Many tie. Times have like ten thousand dollars a doctoral. That's not access to care. We ought to focus on lowering premiums and helping those families that are struggling can't even afford the healthcare that they have Republicans for sure were slow to recognize the power that issue. A lot of members that didn't respond to the attacks. Michael Bloomberg loans two million dollars a week in some of these races for three weeks in a row to four million dollars spent against you before you start responding to an attack even if it's a lie about that point. It's too late. And that happened to a lot of people where they were flat footed, that's not gonna happen again next year. And I think you're already seeing a very fierce debate on what our plan is to lower premiums while protecting people preexisting conditions. And the Democrats plan is what they call Medicare for all. If you read the Bill and actually gets rid of private health insurance over one hundred fifty million Americans would lose the private health insurance that they have an like and by the way people on Medicare today, they know Medicare is going bankrupt. We want to save Medicare from bankruptcy but Medicare's bankrupt quicker. If you put over. Hundred and fifty million more people on Medicare it literally clogs up the lines, and ultimately will bankrupt a lot of hospitals. It's a horrible idea. But that's the Democrats plan. And so there's a real contrast that you're gonna see the next year to have speaking of spending. The president one thing wants to one thing the president wants to spend money on infrastructure other conversation about two trillion dollar infrastructure package. You have said that's too expensive. Well, the bottom line on infrastructure is this is an opportunity to come together in a partisan way and pass something really important for the country. But we have to have an agreement on how to pay for it. And when you saw the speaker go down to the White House if you weeks ago with Chuck Schumer, they talked about how much they want to spend. But they didn't talk about how to pay for it in. We've had discussions Republicans and Democrats on ideas of how we can come to an agreement on an infrastructure Bill that helps rebuild our country's infrastructure. You've got whether you've gotta have reforms to the way we do building projects. I mean in many cases project takes ten years that should only take two because of so much location of. You have a permanent process at the state level and duplicate at the federal level, and they throw things on top at actually Jack the cost up to a point where you can afford it that those reforms need to be in place to, but we need on how to pay for it AP report. Some senior house lawmakers frustrated by a decade of frozen congressional salaries are quietly exploring whether to accept an annual pay raise they've shown since Brock Obama was first president would Republican support that well, first of all if you look I mean, what what congress paid ought to be publicly known. It ought to be fair compared to what what other things are out there in the economy and how the economy's doing. But the bottom line is we've got to make sure that we can attract could people and you're seeing people step up to run for congress. I we we're doing a very good job right now recruiting, but you don't want it to just be a place where we're either the ultra wealthy or only people that are lower income can afford to run. You wanna make sure that you're being able to encourage everybody of all walks of life to serve in this great body. So you're not. Taking a position, but you're not ruling it out. Well, alternately we're focusing on a lot of things that need to be confronted right now. And at the end of the day, we've got to make sure that we can continue to run ineffective. Congress you opened up your campaign website. The first words it says pro-trump conservative leader. What are the hardest part of those first two words? I think that the biggest part of how President Trump is perceived is the misunderstanding of what he's like as a person to work with them on a regular basis on policy. I mean, we worked very closely on the tax cuts and jobs act great achievement that I started working on when I was still in the hospital. He would call me from the hospital. When I was there just to check on me, eight o'clock at night. I get a phone call, and it would just be the presidency. See I was doing. He came the night. I was shot him Alani were there to help console. My wife, Jennifer, and they gave a tour of the White House to my kids when I was in hospital. That's how he is on the personal side..

"Love for your work and your love for your country comes across loud and clear. Well, I I love the job. I do and it's an honor to be elected in represent southeast Louisiana congress. I love serving the state legislature. And it's really about just being able to go in battle for the things you believe in, and you know, and try to make a difference, and I saw so much good in people after the shooting and what I wanted to convey in our book and back to the game and the game is that sure the defining point was the beginning of the gunmen who tried to execute literally over dozen members of congress, but that one act of evil spurred just thousands of acts of war and kind of and showed what's good about our country. And I wanted to convey that in the book that you might have heard about the gunman in the shooting, but look at what I got to see in terms of how many people Republican and democrat foreign leaders wanted him reached out to me, and we're rooting for me to get better because they they're just good. People and it it just was a different side of things. But I got to see that I wanted to share with other people, maybe you can share some of those stories about some of your democratic colleagues because your Republican colleagues your band of brothers. Everybody gets it your clothes on the Republican side. What about some of the democratic colleagues who reached out to you after you were shot? You know in the immediate aftermath. You know, the both the Republicans and Democrats play each other in a baseball game every year. That's what we will practice in for the big game was the next day. We get to play in the major league ballpark in Washington National stadium, and it's very competitive. I mean, you can imagine members of CONGRESS Republicans playing against the Democrats, but we actually get to be really good friends because it's one of the things you after hours after you go to work, and you battle over ideas, you go get to do something good for other people. I mean, we raise over a half a million dollars for local charities. So we actually form good bonds with not just the Republicans on the team because we're very tight bond together. But the Democrats get to know the Republicans. Well, and so the very first person to show up at the hospital after I was shot was Cedric Richmond by colleague, who's a democrat from Louisiana represents most of the city to represent the other part and Cedric came to the hospital immediately and stayed there. And when my wife who's in. In New Orleans. She flew up that day when she was told to the shooting. You know in Centric help Jennifer to you know, what was going on. And, you know, hey, look, I'm there with Steve watching over, you know, and it just shows you a different side of politics that most people don't get to see and wasn't Cedric. Richmond was chair of the Congressional Black caucus, right? Yeah. He's he's currently the chair the Congressional Black caucus, and I'm the house majority whip on the Republican side. And so on most of the major issues that today, we're usually on the other side of those issues, but we have a deep love for respect for each other. And we're close personal friends. And you know, even though he's wrong on most issues. Yeah, he's a good person. And we we built the deep trust and relationship, and and it showed through and again, it just shows people. It's not all about, you know, hey, they don't hate each other because they're on opposite sides of an issue. You know, they might battle it out. But in the end, we're we're humans, you you know, who who who gets along with. Agrees on every issue with every friend that they have or with their spouse. You know, you you have disagreements we all do you just how you treat people when you're disagreeing it defines them, you're still and your still family at congressman Richmond. In fact, a chair the Congressional Black caucus has an endorsement on your book where he says Steve story can be a lesson for all of us about unity bridging divides. And how family and friends are what's most important in life. Speaking about what's most important in life. The book is called back in the game. It's supposed to our website at Michael Medved dot com. A what do you think are the prospects for getting anything done in a under a new Democratic Congress and a speaker Pelosi? Well, I mean, I I hope that we're able to keep building on the economic success. We're having people anybody who wants a job in America right now. Go find one that's rare in American history where there are more job openings than people looking for work. I don't wanna see us. Go backward on that. I don't wanna see us. Go back with on any of the successes. We've had with President Trump to to get this country back on track. But obviously Nancy Pelosi has a very different agenda in worldview, and you know, they're going to be some battles. I just hope we're able to at least preserve the gains that we've made and where they try to take our country in a different direction. Let's let's go bring that debate all across this country. And let people, you know, maybe even people who voted to throw out their Republican member of congress in exchange for a democrat. They might have thought they were going to be getting some different than they're gonna get. And we're I think we're gonna be seeing that contrast in these next few months in two years, we're speaking with congressman Steve Scalise. I I wish you godspeed, sir. And congratulations on the book. It the book feels not like something that's written on announcing Tom, but something that's written by a neighbor who's telling you a little bit about the most dramatic and yes frightening experience of his life, which is over come courageously and nobly the book back in the game, the author congressman Steve Scalise. We'll be right back on the Medved show. Putting it all together with the George Hw.

"Wishing everybody a very merry Christmas and a happy new year and take some meaning out of this week of mourning. Officially for a great American President George Herbert Walker. Bush and one thing about President Bush everybody you talk to Republican democrat left right up down center, you wherever you are people say he's one of the good guys. And there's somebody else in Washington DC where everybody says that you you can't talk people without about Steve Scalise without them saying, oh, Steve Scalise. Who represents the first district in Louisiana. He's one of the good guys. He's also going to be the number two Republican in the incoming house of representatives. He's the author of a new book called back in the game. One gunman countless heroes and the fight for my life. It's posted up at our website at Michael Medved dot com. Congressman scalise. Thanks so much for joining us. Michael great to be with you. Thanks so much for that. Nice introduction. I really do. Appreciate it. Again. I what I found some moving about your book was because it really spoke about America. And even some of the descriptions of early and your political curious you've been elected office now for twenty two years, right? Yeah. Going back to my days in the state house when I got elected in nineteen ninety six for the first office Iran for it in the state house of representatives in Louisiana. Yeah. And again, it's not been a nightmare. Right. I mean, this can be beautiful and meaningful and uplifting work and from your book about your shooting and your recovery. "Answer. Wishing everybody a very merry Christmas. Happy new year and take some meaning out of this week of mourning. Officially for a great American President George Herbert Walker. Bush and one thing about President Bush everybody you talk to Republican democrat left right up down center, you wherever you are people say he's one of the good guys. And there's somebody else in Washington DC where everybody says that you can't talk people without about Steve Scalise without them saying Steve Scalise who represents the first district in Louisiana. He's one of the good guys. He's also going to be the number two Republican in the incoming house of representatives. He's the author of a new book called back in the game. One gunman countless heroes and the fight for my life. It's posted up at our website at Michael Medved dot com. Congressman scalise. Thanks. So much for joining us. Michael great to be with you. Thanks so much for that. Nice introduction. I really do. Appreciate it. Again, what I found so moving about your book was because it really spoke about America. And even some of the descriptions of early in your political curious you've been elected office now for twenty two years, right? Yeah. Going back to my days in the state house when I got elected in nineteen ninety six for the first officer ran for us in the state house, representatives them, Louisiana. Yeah. And again, it's not been a nightmare. Right. I mean, this can be beautiful and meaningful and uplifting work and from your book about your shooting and your recovery. Your love for your work and your love for your country comes across loud and clear. Well, I I love the job. I do and it's an honor to be elected in represent southeast Louisiana congress. I love serving in the state legislature. And it's really about just being able to go in battle for the things you believe in, and you know, and try to make a difference, and I saw so much good in people after the shooting and what I wanted to convey in our book and back to the game and the game is that sure the defining point was the beginning of the gunmen who tried to execute literally over dozen members of congress, but that one act of evil spurred just thousands of acts of warmth and of and showed what's good about our country. And I wanted to convey that in the book that you might have heard about the gunman in the shooting. But look at what I got to see in terms of how many people Republican and democrat foreign leaders wanted him reached out to me, and we're rooting for me to get better because they they're just good. People and it it just was a different side of things. But I got to see that I wanted to share with other people, maybe you can share some of those stories about some of your democratic colleagues because your Republican colleagues your band of brothers. Everybody gets your clothes on the Republican side. What about some of the democratic colleagues who reached out to you after you were shot? You know in the immediate aftermath. You know, the both the Republicans and Democrats play each other in a baseball game every year. That's what we were practising for the big game was the next day, and we get to play in the major league ballpark in Washington National stadium, and it's very competitive. I mean, you can imagine members of CONGRESS Republicans playing against the Democrats, but we actually get to be really good friends because it's one of the things you do after hours after you go to work, and you battle over ideas, you go get to do something good for other people. I mean, we raise over a half a million dollars for local charities. So we actually form good bonds with not just the Republicans on the team because we're very tight bond together. But the Democrats get to know the Republicans. Well, and so the very first person to show up at the hospital after I was shot was Cedric Richmond. By colleague was a democrat from Louisiana represents most of the city to represent the other part and Cedric came to the hospital, immediately and stayed there. And when my wife who's in. New orleans. She flew up that day when she was told of the shooting in central help, Jennifer to you know, what was going on. You know? Hey, look, I'm there with Steve watching over, you know, and it just shows you a different side of politics that most people don't get to see and wasn't Cedric. Richmond was chair of the Congressional Black caucus, right? Yeah. He's he's currently the chair of the Congressional Black caucus, and I'm the house majority whip on the Republican side. And so on most of the major issues of the day. We're usually on the other side of those issues, but we we just have a deep love and respect for each other. And we're close personal friends. I really enjoyed the game I went into this game. And I thought it. Was gonna stink I kinda ripped it I think yesterday on the air I wasn't looking forward to it and I've watched a lot of the Oslo games over. The years the. The mid summer classic I got it I understand this really was a midsummer classic this I felt I. Was proud to be an American real it really wants this made me feel very Americana hand over your heart really was a very America the way that the pre-game was honoring our. Country are the heroes of our country and the medal of. Honor recipients of our military are proud military should say. Of pass was very. Classy by FOX and bye bye The folks who run the Washington National stadium the whole thing just felt before it just. Felt like very Americana to even feel it well I did, not see the pre game ceremonies maybe that change the. Night for me But the game was. Told I. Wish, I wish the game didn't. Fall perfectly in line with, some of the issues we had a deal, with during the regular season of either a home run or strike out basically ten home. Runs, at twenty five strikeouts yeah and and almost. Nothing else and so what four teams Gain. On stop it was, a good dramatic game-tying pinch. Hit, Homer from your boy. Scooter Jeanette and then. Greg's and screams, back to back pitches in the top of the tenth, I assume Ross stripling through. Them pitches to hit for a home run because nobody wanted to play an eleventh inning in Washington last night yeah and thankfully for them they hit those balls out yeah the drama, was there the fund was there. I just. Again, there are times you want. Some more players to make Not to make a big arrow Leading. The gene cigarettes three run home you're making errors A little more variation of. The offense a couple of singles or stolen base going I. Two thirds scorn from, first on a. Double is exciting Good one little small ball maybe Texas league. Or take take some medium-size baseball, I don't, need bunting, moving along but I you know a. Couple of balls in, the gap. We, run some basis a homerun, good A, little annoying sometimes I think he did. Not, UAB at that listen I enjoyed. This game very much I was. Trying to stay awake I had to catch the last couple of innings via the internet's because I get. Up early, work obviously so I I was pissed that. I couldn't stay awake I try, to just cut out but I watched. The bulk of it live live and then watch the, rest of this morning, but, I don't know man I really. Enjoyed it a lot I like what the major league baseball did and would FOX did by making up some of the guys, in the field trout Bryce Harper. Camp in, the outfield I really. I really enjoyed that I think that's something I know they can't and. Won't players won't though refusal teams refusal do it during the regular regular games because they've got to be very. Focused and not not gonna want to be talking to a. Play by, play guy you know while they're playing field in, a regular season game you? Know, what I mean so but Game it's a good feel I enjoyed it I love the production. Of it I really I gotta tip my cap the FOX. Joe buck, okay I've ripped Joe buck a lot I think, he's very entitled the time? He's, very He's. Very Joe buck he's about Joe. Buck that's, Joe buck but I have, to say, I thought. He. Did a good job yesterday seemed. A little humble he doesn't usually do. Humble well But I thought yesterday he came off I enjoyed listening to him a little bit and I thought he did a good job interacting AB what the. Players that, were, Mike up he was. Basically begging camp after three hours to keep his. Love on his mic to keep it on. While he was at. Back because he was leading off he's like, yeah I'm, not doing it I gotta say this. "To be killed president trump i think rightly called us to to take a different approach and these difficult hours it's more important than ever to help each other care for each other remind each other that we are all united by our love of our great and beautiful country okay that is a good reminder and i wish that president trump hadn't tweeted out this morning but honestly i think in this spirit of the times and trying to seize the opportunity at we all should as a country look beyond that some of the the conversation that people had and by the way this another positive thing that's happening they're doing the first ever joint interview with nancy pelosi and paul ryan together from a washington national stadium where they're going i actually had this a cnn is doing they're going to be an and that's a good thing and that's a positive thing and in the some of the the ongoing conversation with people talking about moving beyond this talks a city it seems to me is important and appropriate but in their editorial today america's lethal politics the new york times a still went went back to the old well of replaying another another episode where it simply wasn't true lent conservatives were involved in other words what they're saying is they do acknowledge this they say nonold details are known yet about what happened in virginia but sickeningly familiar pattern is emerging in the assault to sniper james hodgkinson who was killed by capital police officers will surely deranged as derangement had found its fuel in politics mr hodgkinson was bernie sanders supporter and campaign vellon tear very lightly opposed president trump.
