This is Lewis down that we were talking to him at a gas station on highway two 16, about how he and his family and neighbors have had to battle the flames here when a hotspot flared up just a couple hundred feet away from where we were talking. "So you have The Washington Post coming out saying the laptop is true. Miranda divine to her great credit led with the story with the article laptop from hell. The New York Post published it and they lost their Twitter account for even talking about it. And now you're starting to see in mainstream regime media pretty extensive coverage about a an indictment that might be looming because of a very serious and real federal investigation against Hunter Biden. This is CNN play cut 42. Well, Brianna, this is a very real, very substantial investigation of potentially serious federal crimes. We are seeing federal prosecutors in Delaware. Do exactly what you would expect to see federal prosecutors doing this situation. They're talking to witnesses, they're bringing people into the grand jury. They're issuing subpoenas. And I would expect, as Evan reported, they're now gaining steam and they need to make a decision, I think, in the at least intermediate future. In this case has been going on for four years and there is a realistic chance this could result in federal charges. Of course, then we be in unprecedented political territory, not legal territory, but a situation of having potentially the Justice Department prosecuting and trying to imprison the son of the president. And look, it's not like Hunter Biden is being investigated for doing something completely unrelated from his father. It's not like they're investigating Hunter Biden for not paying taxes because he's a sports star for the Lakers or for the New York rangers. Now this is because a business dealings he was doing with his father for his father and because his father who was who he was. The federalist dot com kind of summarizes some of truck grassley's findings, as chuck grassley and Ron Johnson have been on the story for years now and smeared at every single turn by the activist media but turns out they were totally right and completely on the Mark. Meanwhile, the activist press was not, according to the documents obtained by the senators, energy company CEFC, and an official arm of the Chinese government paid, Hunter Biden $100,000 cash further credit to a wasco, hunter's firm. There's no middle man in this transaction. This is a $100,000 wire transfer from what is effectively an arm of the Chinese government directly to Hunter

"I just felt like. I felt really dedicated to the work. I was doing so. I'm very passionate about most. I've ever had some else passionate about. I'm not one of those who just gets whatever job. No hell no So this was something that. I really love doing this. When i was working with kids and i was the only person who ran my program at one point so i didn't have any staff they promote it just happened. I became site supervisor when they hired me. Just i just ran the after school activities and programs and stuff then To the the program managing staff had left so at one point was three of us. Then those two girls left. And i got a promotion to program manager would know site supervisor so i basically ran the entire program and activities right. So which is a lot of work. So i didn't and i worked remotely so i pretty much everything myself. I worked with worked on a school campus. But my my job was big brothers. Big sisters and their headquarters with some place wells and we all had our own different sites that we worked at. So i was on. I was on the site and watts. It's a while i was there i was and i really was passionate about working with these kids and wasco they. My program was specifically for kids. Who were in kinship. Care foster care had apparent incarcerator had other issues and he ever had to be referred into our program so i had very high needs an highly traumatized children and i was very dedicated to them. And i did not trust anybody else coming in my program and trying to cover for me. 'cause i i met. Everybody knows how to work with kids. The way i did is so. I remember not taking off. I was one time they literally had to tell me you have to go to er dealing with something. And i add to keep you know. Stop working to go take care of it and then come back. And they're like what the fuck is going on. So i finally told someone on the when i worked with on the campus and they were like no. You need to go to your like. I will drive you myself you do. Not what are you doing here and I was like why can't leave. I'll leave after. I'll go after work now like it was like maybe eleven o'clock in the morning and i didn't get off to like six and i was like. Oh i'll go after work like that's over six hours from now you need to the hospital now and finally did it and i was glad i did because it turned out my issue with a lot more serious than i thought and so an catch it before anything. Fatal happened is so Yeah it was that serious so Especially some already anemic. So that made it even worse and so it was so so we you know the work for that person telling me that i could literally died on the job and guess what they would have replacing me any fucking way right covered in any way right so so i think from then on i really opened my eyes like yeah what the fuck it. "Is has like the word needs some help there right. Also you're watching the percentages and like he's like fifty six percent something very close before and he's like an absolute distress and he is like side himself and i think if he saw the percentages wouldn't help at all. If if someone told you you know what fifty six percent of the time you're going to like go on and win the main event and you know with all the millions that comes with that and be the name of the guy and all the everything being the face of it and then forty five percent or four percent of the time. Sorry you're out but you actually second not the worst rather worse right. And so what happens is he. Folds would've won the hand by the way he would have made the flush right and everyone knows that jamie gold fall philosophies why no who paul wasserman okay but like stream made people know people know jamie gold whereas if you're sitting at a poker table let you know casino in los angeles. Most people probably don't know who paul wasco. Paul wasco is a beast even to this day. He's a beast. And i can say like from personal experience. I've played jamie gold. I wish wasco would have called all in there and just because what jamie gold did on camera was not out of the ordinary for him. Like it was like ho boy. Every hand it gets played with taking ten minutes. There is just so much talking. I'm just like dude. Please shut up full hand. But anyway i digress. But i think paul paul wasa i think he even in the moment. I was rooting for paul wasco. But probably all poker players. Were i think watching that final table. Play down yeah well. It's just a fun hand and you can't blame them. You know i mean you can just see the leg magnitude of the decision and the agony in like biggest question. There isn't like paul. Wasco had a very sizable skill advantage. Over jamie gold. I think lee leading to heads up but still. That's like a spot. That's it's very tough to pass up because you don't know if you're going to get anything comparable moving forward just through the nature of like heads up poker right totally totally absolutely so it's a good head. That's a really fun hand watching you do the. It's like my class but it's it's so good and it's like yeah. I i wonder about that and you know all the time. What about far. Far hawk could have just called moneymakers bluff like. There's a lot of these these hands. Where just like sort of the fate of poker like hinged on this one decision or like i actually think though as it relates to the moneymaker far how think somebody would have taken up the baton and poker would have exploded. I think it was just like right on the verge and somebody else could have been moneymaker. Could've done the moneymaker effect but yeah that one was. That's another one that's like. Wow really big deal. That far off folded when moneymaker in that big bluff. Yeah yeah and then you know if you hands. Prior moneymaker got very lucky. Still ivy nine left. Yeah with absolute final table. Bubble was a set of nine in the is queen. Nine something determine a queen and the river got it all in and today's exactly.

"Than me so be it. That might just be the ceremony meat. We're back now to our conversation with land and social justice advocate and life long activist. Rabbi arthur wasco as we back he shares more about the meaning in the specific rituals associated with the autumn festival of circuit which is celebrated this year from september twentieth to september twenty seventh. The cycle begins in the spring. Passover has is the birth month. it's the birth time fact. I really think that The key moment of the exodus itself that night. The torah says that the israelites had to smear their whole Doorway with the blood of the lamb so ninoy are newborn. Lambs not only is new new sprouting barley but they then walk through a doorway. That is totally bloody well. There is one zero away and only one that every human being moves through. That's bloody and that's the womb the birth womb whereas doorway to wound. Ms bloody and. I think it's a signal of being born anew. New as a people seeking freedom which is always about the burdens new this right in freedom. You never know what's gonna happen exactly next. That's what being born is about. There's never exactly what's going to happen next. So i think it really begins there then. Seven weeks after passover comes the spring harvests In the land of israel when barley is finished growing and you can begin harvesting this spring wheat and then moment of agriculture become is in the tradition the moment of harvesting torah so from birth. You then meet god on sinai you begin with your own identity just being born you grow enough to meet with a capital m to me god so that happens at sugar would then you move through Almost six months it six months between passover so-called and you come to sukhoi which i think is the growing up. The grownup moment it's the moment of fulfillment of maturity and then at the end of so-called. You have the holiday. That's very inward turned. That's not a kind of big blow our of sacrifice or even of the hut but you take down and that holiday i think is the holiday of inward retreat and ultimately death. That's the way in which as you mentioned before the life span and the earth moon sun span really cac. Because according to the harvest is fulfillment the work. You've done for at least the last six months maybe all year to prepare the earth and the plants and the seed and so on. But it's not. Just i think of that festival as the festival seed. What is the festival fruit. Yeah big growing. You know more. She ripe right. There's this little almost invisible see it goes in the earth really becomes invisible. It goes deeper near. You would think oh wife is dead right see. Is there to begin growing again to grow into spring sprout in the spring Showing so there's a. I think if you live in the temperate zone anywhere on earth. That's an resurrection or Revere spiritual life whether You call it that or not. I think they should from sukhoi too. Many et cetera is about fullness seeming death and resurrection yeah and that that dormancy and that inward logistician period of time between death and resurrection is to me and model to us right taught to us by plants. Every every day every year every season you mentioned hey absorbing pagan life so let me tell you a funny story. Okay is funny story. So there's several things. I not the funny part but One of the important rituals of so-called as you hold in your hands three branches of three different trees that grew in the land and still grow in the land of israel a poem branch sort of long and stiff and two wavy branches of other trees. Myrtle and will and thank you. And then your other hand you hold What's called etro g- or in english citron. It's a lemony books. Like someone like a limit tastes a little sweeter than lemon but it's a citrus fruit and you bring your right and your left hands together and you wave these four species in the seven directions.

How to Tackle Tough Conversations at Work with Brendan Wovchko

"My guest. today is brian. Wasco brendan is the senior technology officer. Here ramsey solutions he oversees all our product engineering teams and through his career. He's had to have a lot of uncomfortable conversations and he's actually gotten really good at it. He's done it in a way. That's very effective. In fact he's become resident expert with our leadership team on how to do this and he teaches it internally in. It's really good stuff so we said let's bring him on the podcast because we know business leaders everywhere dealing with this issue before we jump into brendan's process i i wanted to ask him about. Why is it so hard as leaders for us to embrace uncomfortable conversations. The hardest part about leadership is you have to lead from a place of giving what you never got. When you're in that position like you just you don't have any instrumentation at all. You know and If you've never been in a situation where somebody has had a healthy conflict with you. It's really hard to know how to it. Yourself re reproduce what is healthy conflict even look like is in most parts of life not just work healthy conflicts. Not we typically another one of the things you've taught us and worked with a lot of our leaders on is really thinking about the come that you want before you just kind of parachute into one of these conversations. You won't have plan for the which we'll talk about in a second. I'm but say more about that. The idea of beginning with the end in mind. Yes so. I mean. I think if you're about to have your first hard conversation with someone you do have to keep the end in mind you know. The end can be one of multiple things but probably the two most obvious conclusions. Are we talk about it. Once it gets fixed were done which is which is kind of a you know. That's the kind of thing that you wanna do. A brain all go that they don't go that way so you know if all you do is walk into every conversation just assuming that it's going to be a one time thing you're probably gonna end up getting yourself in some hot water in the long term

Where who you were before you came to this earth that know before the world's screwed job who was who is that soul is it a is it a laughing soul is in a serious soul is curious soul like who. Who are you really. I feel like we're love. That slowly were supposed to navigate. This very primitive planet to learn to learn things are soul evolves that that so much of the lesson is getting back to loving yourself who you were before you came here and and you have all these wounds to kind of heal and i love that you went through this whole experience and it was. It was in brazil where you spent two weeks. They're studying shamanism and the implant that was ultimately truly healing and i can never pronounce it properly. Wasco a. h. e. a. s. e. scott in the show notes. What was the experience. Like what it does is and i am. They're using it a lot now. The most common people who are actually taking or are in the older age range. Because there's there's there Over sixty and they're they're dealing more with the reality of a looming with death with mortality and the fear of death that we all have it has the ability to kind of eliminate that almost not instantly but It's kind of given. Because there's just something in that experience where you all of a sudden realize everything that you said on a visceral level that we are souls that we are. This is a holographic holographic world. We live in like the matrix. Almost doesn't doesn't make it not real but it. It's not truly where we are where we belong. It's it's a bit of an adventure. it's a bit of a game it's a it's it's it's it's the most Immersive game it's so real. We actually think we can quote unquote guy so real. We think that That we can be separated from people that were not all one. It has.

"Like you're starting a new life on ly In this situation. You have no control over it. You have no idea what that life is going to be. You're taking away from everything that's familiar. And your life is totally in somebody else's hands. So I'm thinking I'm going straight at a state, right? No, they come pick me up. They take me the Wasco State prison. So Ali doesn't get to Arizona right away. He has a layover at Wasco State Prison in California. Moscow Does one of them towns that you only hear about because they got a prison there, Okay. And Ali says this prison Is actually worse than CMC. And On the first day I was there. They mixed the wrong gang members together that makes the Serena and the North Daniel and so it was. They start fighting and I get the over spray of the sea spray. And that stuff is human Raid. How I describe it Used right though, man, Roscoe sitting myself on fire. "Death, and then a kind of rebirth and that's very important where we're where deconstruction is very important. Also to deconstruct, you know the idea that we've been taught to think and imposed, and this is something that's psychedelics can do very well to construct also emotional impersonal things Addictions addiction still think ways of thinking in paradise in things that are important to deconstruct, and then after deconstruction, it's a lot about just insight and. Connecting with this source sort of knowledge. For me personally. Book. It was one of my first major ones I I with Wasco, and I did it a couple times and actually got some really amazing. Insights from it but it wasn't what I was expecting. 'cause. I've heard a lot of people saying, Oh, would I do? I. Go to these other worlds, dragons of this kind of stuff. But I was like I was just in this dark black room for what seemed like years until finally I got one small message, which wasn't even that small was massive for me and my message was let others help you I was so headstrong and and I guess proud or I thought I had to be the strong man and I would never let anyone help me and Iowa which the called the grandmother, and after having done a number of these things I, can see why it's called that because I've also done. What's the other one that they call it like the grandfather I've done that a couple times. No Not Peyote, but it's very similar. So it's like San Pedro Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and I totally feel the difference. Actually really liked the grandfather one a lot more because as he's a lot nicer. The GRANDMAS, pretty strict and. But for me personally what? I, what what it was, I think looking back on this whole journey for me started about five years ago is I was just so in my mind and so in this world and could not see out of it and couldn't get out of it, and that's why was drinking a lot I think is because I had to find an escape because I was just too. I was trapped in my own mind constantly. And I became worse and worse than depressed and unhappy, and all that kind of stuff because I couldn't get out of it and what I, what I've found for me personally was the psychedelics force you to get out of it, and it's like the shock therapy sort of thing that once you take it whether it's a drink of Iowa. Or some you know in a pill form the the San Pedro. From that point on for the next few hours you have no control over where you're GonNa go and you have to. Sort of like..

"Hey. Hello. dwayne Drummond. alberigo screw on, dot com good. Morning. Good morning to you and you know what? I'm really disappointed. We actually don't have the same color onto you normally when. We usually end up matching, which is what we I have blue blue lettering look at look at that. So how's it going? Everything is going well for you. You you know what's going on tell us tell the listeners a little bit about your school and you've been how long have you been technically physically open. Yes. So we open back in June, with groups of ten. and. You know we barely even have groups at five. You know what I mean but now we're now restriction is groups of fifty that's from phase four groups of fifty and you know are. Honestly my beginners seven and upper class is on Tuesday Thursday because that's usually the time you know I like last night I. Think there is Eleven or twelve in there. So that's good. Okay and yeah. WASCO class on Monday Wednesday nights is packed We're just jam packed, but I still have half of them are doing virtually to. You know we had. Gosh. Let's see. Q six, eight, ten, twelve, fifteen, sixteen. I. Think We had twenty two people on the flair and on Monday our black class and then Rhino Pablo another another twenty or twenty five on the screen. Interesting. So now on. Are you seeing like a checkup as far as attendance growing in house like you know it started off as only view and now it's growing in your. Slowly. Coming back. You see that. Yeah. I would say you know I only have maybe twenty percent of my twenty five percent of my population coming in now as opposed to ten percents so It's fifty percent if that makes sense. Yeah. Yeah. Totally. Now are they coming back more so because you feel or they said, you heard them say like, Hey, I was a little nervous that per se mom. Just. Write me. Yeah. We'll. We'll be go to genuine with our classes. You know until we feel comfortable you know so. I could see that hesitation right the people are still nervous. Are you seeing that? BGN Predicts the 2020 Oscars

"Welcome to this episode of the Black Girl Nerds podcast. My name is Jamie and I'm your host. The Oscars are coming up. You guys coming up very soon and we're going to do something a little different in the past pass when we have done Oscar shows. We've done a breakdown of the Academy Awards this year. We're doing a predictions Shows so we're going to run this episode before Sunday night ceremony. And I'm excited to do this prediction show with myself. And I've got an Jelica and Ryan here are wonderful podcasters to give some predictions on Oscar night this Sunday Sunday ladies still all right yeah. Let's go ahead and break this down. So we'll we'll just start from the top right so Oscars twenty twenty best picture. We've got the nominees as Ford versus. Ferrari the Irishman Joe. Joe Rabbit Joker little women marriage story nineteen seventeen once upon a time in Hollywood and parasite now Before we discussed what we predict. I WanNa say what I believe will be the pick but I also want to add the film that I would not to win. Yeah so if you have a film that you want to win you can select that and then the one that you think will in fact when so for me the film that will win best picture are is going to be nineteen seventeen That is a film that has already won best picture by way of the Golden Globes. It won in best picture for the critics choice and it is the favourite right now amongst the Hollywood industry community so nineteen seventeen is the bet amongst everybody for best picture. I really do want parasite to win. I saw parasite I loved it. It is one of the greatest films of twenty nineteen. If you have not seen parasite for are those relisting please go see it. It is just brilliant I just love the metaphor of a socio economic onomic class and welfare and how they use those metaphors into suspense and psychological adjective thriller in this film. And it's just so brilliantly done and I'm not really one for like foreign films. I'm not really that kind kind of you know movie Fan. But parasite blew me away and it is by far one of the best films again of of Twenty nine thousand nine so I hope that people will and myself will be surprised. And that parasite will walk away with best picture but I think probably the likelihood of nineteen seventeen will be the one that will walk away with best picture which I got right. Yep I mean well I mean that's basically how nineteen seventeen. I saw that you know Golden Globes a lot of buzz about that one but yeah I think parasite will be a good look look for the Oscars. There probably won't do it but I think like seeing like the interviews with the cast and stuff like that. I think we'll be something different for them that I'm always pushing for Oscars but yeah. I'm pretty sure they probably going to nine hundred seventy. I agree with my two thousand eighteen at but I want joker to win best picture like how wins Wasco I Want I want joker to win. Best win has not released a superhero. One has a comic won the best picture ever

Spurred by measles outbreak, FDA may make vaccines mandatory

"All right. Let's do it y'all. So I'm throwing anti vaccine directly in the soft corner today, and that's because the head of the US food and Drug administration came out last week, and they're gonna get so sick, though, they're going to get so fucking. And Mark that's a good point. Here's the problem. It's not about them. It's about the unlucky fuckers that did get vaccine get sick because these goddamn anti vaxxers kids. So the head of the US FDA came out and on Tuesday warning states that he might have to quote forced the hand of federal agencies. If these states continue to allow vaccine exemptions amid an ongoing measles outbreak. No, that's right. You heard it. There is a measles outbreak guys. And you're also corrected is twenty nineteen with a fucking measles outbreak. How needles that are resistant to vaccines? This is just like kids. Weren't vaccinated. Measles are making a comeback because of these anti vacs. Exactly. So in Washington state public officials declared a state of emergency after measles. Outbreak spread across anti an anti vaccination hotspot near Portland, Oregon. That's so shocking. Shocking. Yeah. There's been twenty convert cases of me of measles. Twenty of those who contracted the highest contagious. Highly contagious virus were not vaccinated against measles. And the other three were just very very unlucky anti vaccine. Make vegans look like the fawns. But there's also a lot of them are like in the same van diagram the middle part of that. Really? Oh, yeah. Yeah.
