"Can hear me, Sandy. Get a quick update Here is we nail down the audio problems? So we're trying to raise $500,000 this week where currently just short of 8 98 $190,000. We'd love to have a million by the end of the hour. It's only 20 minutes is probably unrealistic. But the we're going to get dang close to a million dollars in four days and one show, and a lot of it from people did 10 bucks at a time, like 100 by 10% for the big guy chipping in 10 bucks? Yeah, yeah, that's a good one out of the sack with Joe and Jack listener with $25. That was back when you were talking up records, right. We're out of the sack with Joan Jack when we were playing Celine Dion songs that was rough. Stranger and arrange land offered $25 don't know what that means. Mm hmm. Apollo, This is a great 1 $25 from I apologize for saying Barack Obama was clean and articulate. That's Joe Biden, who said that when Barack Obama ran for president and got killed for Oh, my goodness, Yeah, I don't remember that. Yeah, that was a was a controversy for a while. Don't turn your back on a grass fire with 50 bucks. That's just good life advice from there. How we doing on the sound over there? We think we got a shot at talking to Sandy. Not quite yet. That's all right. We'll get to it here in a little bit. That that text we got is that that's some heavy stuff on the whole lost his battle with PTSD. I think we all know what that means. And it's one of the biggest advances we've had in caring for people who have fought in wars that we now recognize that as a Not only a real thing, but ah thing that should not at all be treated like a weakness or something you should hide or be ashamed of, or anything like that any more than getting your foot blown off. If your mind no longer works right because of being in a war experience. That's the thing. It's been known since the dawn of time. They called it shell shock. Back in the day. I'm sure they had a name for it. In Roman times. It's just it's something that can happen to the brain, where it reaches its limits of dealing with the reality of warfare. And you gotta treat it like a serious injury and they do and warrior Foundation freedom station And maybe the most important thing they do on that front is you get to come out of your room. And talk to other guys who have had similar experiences and talk it out with somebody. And we've we've We have talked one on one with people who say that was a life changing experience to get to hang out of freedom station and talk to somebody else. Who knows? Who knows what I've done. What I've seen what I've what I've, you know, experience and someone who understands the thought that you're having now realizing that the thoughts that you're having are not unique to you. There are other people who have gone through this. Maybe have a little further down the line and can give you some guidance to get to where they can. And then somebody else comes along, too. It's it's really beautiful. What they do know she's huge, Huge Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. Just go to Armstrong and getting dot com. For all the wacky names and the fun, we have it in the trombone playing. It's a very serious Diehl Armstrong and getting dot com to donate money and we're hoping to get a million by the end of this hour. I don't It's already a remarkable number. Um And oh, and just in terms of the Charity Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. There is good as it gets. I've got the numbers right here. Their overall score and rating. There are 97.4 out of 100 on everything their financial records or 97%, their accountant, transparency or 100%. I mean, there is careful with the money and, uh and making sure it goes the right place and does good as any charity that exists in the world. Which is, you know, credit to Sandy, who started the thing and runs thing, Sandy, Welcome back to the Armstrong and getting show. Hi, Welcome. Oh, I'm so excited. You guys I could barely even contain myself. I had such Nightmares this year worried about getting our guys home, and I want to thank you so much for the wonderful compliments And I truly truly know that we have had over 4000 donors this year and I know that the money helps our guys. But what really, really makes my heart. Um overjoyed is that 4000 people 4000 wonderful patriotic people have donated to our foundation. And I will, without a doubt make sure that every one of those pennies goes the right direction. I'm a Navy wife and a navy mom and I learned really young in life. I don't just pinch a penny. I make it scream. And I'm going to be sending out Thank you. Letters to each and every one of you for the wonderful, wonderful Christmas that you are creating for a lot of our purple heart recipients and warriors that have been injured in the line of duty. You know, we haven't even mentioned that for a little while. The Senate home for the holidays. Whole thing is you buy him a plane ticket to get to wake up in their own bed, that mom and Dad's house. Um, you know, unexpectedly so that that's pretty cool and I'm going to share something with you. We have a special warrior that lives at Freedom Station, too. He's about 27 years old. He just had a week ago, a double lung transplant and they're going to allow him to come home today and we're bringing his caretaker and who's been quarantined for two weeks. And she will be coming in to take care of him back at his cottage here at Freedom Station. That's that's a great story, man. How How have you guys operated with covert going on that has to have been an extra layer of difficulty. You know, it's been challenged, challenging, but the sailors and the soldiers and the Marines they live close together all the time, anyway, so they naturally do a lot of the things that were being trained to do. So, you know, it really is interesting to watch them handle this. Um, they're not. Um, how can I say it? They don't get overwhelmed by it, but they certainly abide by it. And I think military people in General San Diego and probably all of Southern California. There's a lot of military influence here, and we kind of normally follow orders. So it's been restrictive and the guys have learned to work out in their barracks. Fans hate to interrupt you, Sandy, but it's a pretty important interruption. Gladys, if you could hit the drum roll, please. We have a little update for you where we are on the money there, Sean. $901,023. We just crossed over 900 grands, so wonderful interruption. Oh, my goodness. You guys that is absolutely something and four shows for four days. In one show. We got the $900,000, you know, And I always say it's not our show. It's what one it's the audience into its the cause. Sandi, you have you have built something That's absolutely amazing, Impressive, and when people hear about it, which is our job, explaining it. What it is. People are more than happy to give were foundation freedom Station. You know, if you're looking for someplace to give a little money this year, great place to put it just got Armstrong and getting dot Com. Um Sandy, how many people will probably get to fly home for the holidays. You have any idea? You know, I don't at this point, but we're starting earlier, and I know that the colonel up a camp Pendleton has been signing off on the warriors that can go home and those that can't we're going to try to bring Mom or dad here to the San Diego area again. We have a couple of extra challenges this year, but I am going to venture a guess of about 322. That's awesome. That's awesome. So and I was going to share with you that we are at freedom Station to right now. And I have 12 elves out there waiting to take phone calls, And I know that you know they can go to the website and donate but my elves are Coming naughty because they don't have anything to do and they're looking at me. So they have the phones are open. And if anybody would like to call to keep my elves from going more to the Wrong side. We want them to be good elves. The number is 6195782615, and they're all looking at me. So call now It's a good time. Cool, Sandy. Thanks for coming on. Always great to work with you is a great week, and I know you got more to come today and Congratulations on on what you've built there. Rory Foundation Freedom Station. Thank you so much. And from the bottom of my heart. Thank you all for all of your time, your energy and for your patriotism, Santy Lim cooler, the person that got this whole thing going. She should be very proud of herself, but she's not that kind of person. She's not that kind of person. She's just she's just giving and really good at what she does..

"Jerry Brown is on the line as well. He is a US Army veteran. Current resident of their one of their housing, uh, facilities. Their freedom station, too. He lives with the service dog and service. Dog's name is Shadow. Jeremy. Thanks for stopping by. Tell us how Warrior Foundation Freedom station has impacted your life. Thank you. Yes, The impact on my life, I would say has saved my life. I think a lot of people that have been a part of this program a part of the volunteers. They save lives. It's point blank. You're saving people's lives. A lot of these veterans. They come back and they're missing arms and legs. They're missing their mental state. There. Spirituals state. They have PTSD. They have TV I and they need help. And when they find these volunteers, these people that have You know big hearts. They're they're generous and their charitable and they want to. They want to help. This is one of the best ways that they can help. This is one of the ways where the impact Not only is it fulfilling it is saving lives, and it's helping The people the veterans, the community be more appreciative and And be more patriotic. I would say Jeremy talk talk just a little bit about the therapy programs that you're enjoying your doing. Fishing you doing surfing now, Uh, this is these air. You know, most people look at fishing and golf and surfing as activity for you. It's therapy. Lot of the therapies that are offered, usually through the hospital has to do with either a psychologist, a psychiatrist or a talk group where you're talking with other veterans that air dealing with Trump. And the medication is the answer. They say. We'll just give these guys the medicines and we'll put him through some classes, and that has has worked, But there's still some gaps and the gaps. Are fulfilled by freedom Station and one of the therapies that works is recreational therapy is when, when these guys when you come back, you are in a in a dark place. And that equates to people staying in their home. In a depressed state mentally in every area of their lives. And they won't leave their house and this is a common thing with veterans. They will stay in the go dark mode, and they won't Interact with the rest of the world. So the recreational therapy that freedom station offers like surfing, fishing, hunting it, Z. It does a couple different things. It helps the veteran get out of their house. Get out of there. The thought process of just remembering their trauma and these bad memories and creating new ones. With other veterans with other carrying family and friends that their past veterans, their family of veterans, and they're just people that They want help, and that's one of these programs is what they do, and it helps people, um with the helping hand up and just get them out of their house and Get some sunshine in them, you know, sounds so simple, but it is so unbelievably important. It's saving lives. It's the simple things all often that are overlooked and and people like Jeremy and thank you for stopping by Jeremy to people like Jeremy. Um, are are really examined by Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, and they say, what can we do to help support the transition for this individual help support their mind their body their spirit. On and it's just remarkable. They really do provide that integrated, comprehensive set of services. We gotta take a break, but we need you to take advantage of this $50,000 challenge Grant. So if you could give anything right now at Warrior Foundation that Organ Warrior foundation that award We desperately need it. We need to make sure that we hit this goal. So we've got Let's see. I wrote it down. We've got to raise another $46,483. So we gotta get do it. We gotta get cracking, folks. Let's get cracking. I know it's a big audience lots of listeners of the two mile report. We were with each other every day, So we need to take advantage of this opportunity. Now we're depending on you. You can go Toe Warrior Foundation died. Award or call 619578 26 15. I appreciate what you guys are doing. So it's very, very good cause it's the least we can do, Jesse for the service to your country that you've given us. S o. You are on the golf team. Um and you are currently pursuing a degree in criminal justice. Um, tell me tell me how Warrior foundation has been able to Um, support your efforts to transition into the civilian sector by getting this degree. Yeah, well, you know, when I first met Sandy at the hospital, um just like most of us are we're going through a lot, and, uh, I know they have the freedom Station one and freedom Station two Really great things. And, uh, but the residences that they support Yeah, and, uh, For me. It's more personal. Because when we're at the hospital, we don't really see sir. See ourselves as No, I mean we're marines, but we're more patients. So Um You know, we're very down everything I'm sure after just come back from war, and then you get people like Sandy and all the other moms there they show up every single day. And I don't think a lot of us would be here. If it wasn't for for their support what they did. When did the accident happened? What? You're wasn't help. I was nine. Just turned, Uh, I think I just turned 20 and it was in 2000 and nine So August 6, Um And then with golf, uh I don't even know how really golf started. It just it was an outlet for me. I went Tol Golf Academy of America on Guy went toe professional golfer's career college and then actually, junior you guys might talk to before. "Seven. What did you say? 7 86 Wow. Okay, So Sandy, who you're going to hear from? Ah, little bit later, She's the the the founder of Warrior Foundation Freedom Station and her story. How she got came up with the idea and She she? She deserves sainthood for getting this thing going and running it. It is sufficiently as she does one of the most efficient charities in America doing good work for our warriors. But we're going to hear from her. She wants to set the goal. Mouth a million. I don't think we can get to a million in the last hour and 15 from 7 80. But the rate we've been growing so far today we could hate to rely on the thieving podcasters because they're thieving nature and such. But you guys may need to push us over the finish line there. That's right. You've been stealing from us for years. To me. It's the same as if you walked up behind me on the street and hit me with a blackjack not come into the ground and took my money out of my pocket. Listening the podcast instead of the radio show, I see no difference. No, exactly. S Oh, yeah. You always a little money for, you know, a couple hours entertainment. In theory, Good Armstrong and getting dot com to donate Boy A million dollars if you because all we do is tell you about it. You're the ones who raised the money If you come up with a million dollars in four days and four hours because it's not really five days Started it Monday morning, and you've got four days and then just this show today a million dollars will be astounding. They're much much much bigger foundations and radio shows and stuff like that. That can come close to reason that kind of money remarkable. It is remarkable. But Armstrong and getting calm and donated we streamlined. It only takes a couple of minutes. Like we said there is careful with the money is any charity in the world is it's fantastic that Armstrong and getting dot com They're strong and getting Well,.

"S I P. C. Yeah. The Armstrong and Getty show who's next hour, We'll get a little into the president's news conference they had yesterday with his lawyers about the voter fraud. That is being Aziz usual. You know, just one. Like I said, we were earlier. We don't live in an age of nuance. There's some nuance to this their parts of it that we're crazy and wacky, and they need to explain themselves their parts of it that are real and troubling, and that needs to get covered, too. And I wish I wish all of it could be But We'll talk more about that later, and particularly the Tucker Carlson angle of it. That's pretty interesting. But first back to raising money for Warrior Foundation Freedom Station with the help of our old producer, Dominic, which I wish we could talk completely openly and freely about our old producer, Dominic because it would be a very entertainment entertaining segment. You worked with him, Michael you you know. Yes. How long was he with us? I think two years. His name is Dominic Russia. You can Google his name if you want. Lots of hits will show up. Whether it's Newsweek magazine or entertainment tonight or movies that he started or or whatever. I mean, he send And they just You know, the single craziest person I've ever known in my entire life. And I don't mean like crazy man. He was He would stand on a Kangol that crazy hat on and no completely mentally ill. This is the guy that would pour a Coke in the seat at the movie theater. If somebody was talking loudly in the theater toe, punish the movie theater because they did not stop the person from talk. Right right. He carried a cane in his trunk. And he would hobble around with this case perfectly physically fit, but well, I know but physically fit, but you'd walk around finally carried this cane. And when you get to the airport, you walking with his cane, and he acts like he's really struggling and like, drop his suitcase and stuff until somebody came and picked him up in a car and drove him around security and took him to the gate. So you would never have to walk and he considered us all suckers because we didn't do that. You people are stupid. You're bunch of sheep for following the rules. This is how you do it. You're cheating. Why, Hey, was he meant it? He is insane anyway. One thing that he was really into was show tunes He loved show tunes. And back when he was alive. He died a couple of years ago. Back when he was alive on Buir raising money. Um we came up with this punishment will let Dominic sing show tunes until we re raise a certain amount of money. Because nobody wants to hear Dominic singing show tunes, so it's a punishment is what it is. So he wasn't gifted. Do vocally. I know you know, and and and and most people hate show tunes. There's also that so we need to figure out where we are currently for Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. What's our current number? Gladys? If you could just hit a drummer will find out where we're currently We're gonna set up many goal in the real. Listen, Dominic sing Show tunes. Yes. 602,343 American dollars. How about we make it a way to make it an uneven 6 30? We get to 6 30 man. And we're not gonna stop Dominic singing show tunes until we get to 6 30. This usually really gets the money rolling in fast. You gotta go to Armstrong and getting dot com and donate Armstrong and getting dot com From beyond the grave. Ladies and gentlemen, Dominic Dominic, Russia and his show tunes. Jesus, I'm over Joy. This is technically haunting the whistling along our not donating quite a name. Oh, around play Joe to refresh on a regular basis to see forgetting the closer You.

"Know we got some some good donors. But Gladys a drumroll, please. We're currently at 376,103 American dollars. We could wait could hit 400. Before we get off here today, we might have to resort to Sean talks about Video games until we had a mini goal. No, you know about the carrots and the sticks. Well, we've been giving the carrots I'm the stick, which may Jeffries tube in gave $25. Jerry Brown's disproportionate extraction from the national wealth, Man. If you don't know that one that's a great great comment. Great reference. Um yeah, Spirit Contradict your dick term. It's that's a creative spelling of the word Contradict, er Recall the hypocrite 50 bucks on to TIFA with $100 donation. My honesty that's nice. Yeah. Give under your name. Give anonymously give under a funny name will read him. Just good. Armstrong. He getting dug 10 bucks from freak. Who brings bags up to the room. Oh, yeah, That's what my face $100 from the toilet paper hunter adapting of these of these times. Let's see Joe Slice broke my window contributed $500. I never slides the disdain in Jack's voices, he reads Black Friday Copy contributed $100. I almost don't like those to hold their money that's more wary. Once again. Good Armstrong and getting calm. The banner is easy to find. Give it a Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. Quick glance around America. First of all, Mary Beth, a recovering Kelly Unicorn and now lives in the great state of Kansas, where our career together began, actually, um I praised Governor Kelly's moderate and reasonable stance about pandemics and shutdowns in the rest of it. Mary Beth points out early on the pandemic. She was trying to make huge restrictive moves and the Legislature was quick to do its job and restrict her powers with regard to the scope of the term state of emergency. Overall, it's led to a much more consultative approach to how the restrictions have been placed etcetera. So thanks for the note. It's good, enlightenment divided government. We're going to get some of that right with Republican likely Senate and And Ah Biden presidency divided government. It's just, You know, there's a lot to like there. Oh, absolutely that we don't get anything done. Yeah, that's good. Yeah, Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Um, what was the other thing I was gonna say has happened. Oh, and listen to maybe you're younger. Maybe you're politically naive or whatever the whole perpetual state of emergency That's that's kind of a big thing in politics. It's like the sure I love you tomorrow of getting someone's pants off. I mean, it's It's the big, obvious, ugly, constant in politics. They never ending state of emergency to grab up more power. So beware. Well on the voting. NPR lying liars don't deserve a dime your tax money. They're reporting We're reporting this morning on the Georgia vote Audit thing. Andre said. Yeah, a few votes were found that were not properly uploaded. I happen to be familiar with this story. There were three batches of votes that just Went away. They're hidden in a box or something, and we're never never counted. During the audit. They found one batch of 284 ballots that netted Trump another 176 votes cut slightly in the Bidens lead. Another batch of more than 2600 uncounted votes were found on a memory card in Floyd County. And a second memory card with nearly 2800 uncounted votes were found in Fayette County on Tuesday. Now these air these ugly and stupid disputing of the election that the Trump has because he won't leave power, And he's the new Hitler etcetera, etcetera. Now Biden still has a lead of almost 13,000. But thousands and thousands of votes that were never counted is exactly the sort of thing we ought to be rooting out. Yeah. Massive irregularities and Wayne County That's Detroit, Michigan. Two Republicans said there are wild inconsistencies between the number of registered voters in the number of votes in some of these district. We need to get to the bottom of this. We won't certify the vote until we do we'll, of course for that they were be raided and called Racists over and over again. One Democrat. Michigan State representative elect one Abraham Ayyash. Actually docks, the poor woman and her Children and be rated them all is Racists. Even in online post naming were the little kids go to school and talking about the impact that decision would have on their little black classmates and making it clear that she and her Children should be hated. And be raided. This is a racist. I'm not going to try to change your mind. That's politics for you, Boy. That's ugly. Yikes! I'd say. Everybody of every political persuasion ought to be interested in honest voting. How do I even have to say that so I had heard secondhand that they're starting to run out of stuff with stores at stores and I thought, Really, and so I asked her again. And we got a bunch of texts, my love my local Costco out of paper towels and toilet paper again. Costco's don't run out of stuff like that. I went in Sunday, not a sheet available of any kind or brand. Wow is right. Was it Costco on Sunday and noticed a big cluster of people in the back corner of the store it first I couldn't figure out why so many people were all crammed together back there, then realized it was the bottled water toilet paper section. I didn't know this was going on. I missed that. Oh, my gosh. My sister sent me a picture from California in empty toilet paper. I'll in her local WalMart, I replied with two photos from my local grocery store here in Pensacola, Florida, where the toilet paper and paper towels completely wiped out. The hoarding has definitely begun again. Yikes. You weren't aware of this. Be aware now and it might be too late. Oh, for goodness sakes. I hope you were stocked up. "Me. Yeah. Yeah, that's too bad. Actually read a trunk of that book yesterday where he was describing what it's like to live in the White House that I found really interesting. Yeah, and I'm looking forward to the part on when he first met. Putin Sounds good, but I thought this was pretty good. Somebody was tweeted out this segment. Barack Obama's book, Reese is now I don't know all these names. I'm not gonna pretend that I do know all these names. I'm not smart enough to recognize all these names, but I think you'll get the gist. Looking back. It's embarrassing to recognize the degree to which my intellectual curiosity those first two years of college parallel the interests of various women. I was attempting to get to know marks in Morrow's. I don't know Moreau's So I had something to say to the long legged socialist who lived in my dorm, Fannin and one of Gwendolyn. For the smooth skin, socially sociology Major who never gave me a second look, and Fuko and Wolf for the ethereal bisexual who are mostly black folk. Oh, by the way, is the inventor of critical race theory. Nice that James Lewis tear America apart. All the stuff that he was reading was super lefty stuff. I mean, like crazy out there lefty stuff, but anyway As a strategy for picking up girls. My pseudo intellectualism proved mostly worthless. I found myself in a series of affectionate but chased friendships. That's pretty much it very funny. Yeah. Was seriously considering running for president until I read the section of the book yesterday, I found out the first family has to pay for its own groceries. What's the point of being president? I thought all that food you could get 24 hours a day. I thought that was on the house. The White House you pay for your own food. Yeah. Yeah. And if you have, you know if if I'd gotten elected when I had three kids, and there are only two beds, I'd have to buy the third bed. If you want to go back to your golf course. Yes. And stay in your house. You get flown in a giant bazillion dollar helicopter. Correct? Yes, but if I want to eat, I gotta pay for the steak. Right? It seems weird. Weird's one word for you Go to your own home and play golf or fish or whatever it is. You do. Chop wood. I can send the Air Force one to pick up my body's on the way. At the cost of millions of dollars. What? Yeah, Judy and I say, Yeah, you know, would be great right now. Apple pie with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. They hit me with the bill. I can decide. I want to go see that play across town and they're going to shut the streets down right in the middle of work day traffic across town. I'm gonna go to the original production in London. What if I order a cheeseburger, right? I'm paying for the bun. It's hilarious. I want one more bourbon at the end of a busy day of president. You gonna hit me with the tab? Come on. No way. What's the point? I was somebody and keep track of that. And then, you know, Release it 20 years after their dad or whatever to protect them, But the list of everything every president ate or drank would be awesome. This must be why Trump ate at McDonald's all the time is cheaper. Yeah, because they had to pay for it. So I'm eating KFC. "A crucial thing that we need to be doing to address the issues of the African American and Brown and yellow folks and our country as well as the white folks. So there you heard him, say it, and then he has since apologized. We have a clip of that from CBS 13 to roll up and my 30 year career in public health. I've never had an issue like this before very much apologize for that, and we'll certainly use Asian Pacific Islander in the future. So if you know it was a misstep, he said it during a meeting. He said I was a mistake. He apologized and so but that that was an unfortunate turn for him, right. Well for the last several years, our colleagues over on Armstrong and get even raising money for the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. They're doing it this week again. We spoke with him about this charity and why this charity is so different. They spend less than a penny to raise a dollar partly because people like US volunteer to raise money, and their administrative costs are just amazingly low. All the money goes to the guys and the programs, everything from transitional housing to better prosthetics. To treatment for traumatic brain injury to wheelchair basketball and just all sorts of stuff, So they're just they're a model of what every charity oughta be. Nobody's making money. And Warrior Foundation. Freedom Station has helped a bunch of people with that over the years. Obviously, it runs on money. It's one of the most efficient Cherries that exist in America. And that's one of the reasons we got involved with him, and we're trying to raise a half million dollars this week. So with the understanding that a lot of people hurting this share, if you can give, they sure would appreciate it. Today's day three of their give a thon. We will be featuring them each day for the rest of their fundraiser. You can find out more about their efforts on their website, which is Armstrong and Getty dot com. Or you could go to k s t e dot com. Very good program. Couple of good guys. We do appreciate those guy stuff and by insuring that with us, eh? So let's say you're a new mom or Dad. You're thinking I just got to get this for my newborn. I just need it so bad, so many things so many technological advances in baby gear. Is there? Yeah. Do you really, really need it? "The week we're raising money for Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. We've been doing this for years. We're going to try to raise $500,000 Thistle Week. At least at least I'm hoping we'd blow past that. But these air, weird time, so we didn't know what to set for a goal. We thought maybe real good way to just explain what it is on guard. Call Whatever bone we gotta tickle to make you want to donate is, uh Talking. One of one of the heroes that have actually benefited from Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. Isaac Blunt is with us, I think was part of the first Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment, based out of Camp Pendleton, California deployed to Afghanistan and 2011. And while serving his point, man during a foot patrol. Isaac stepped on an I e D resulted in the loss of both of his legs left eye, several fingers on his left hand. Um, we've met Isaac. He is a great dude and his, you know, climbing back into the life with the help of Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. Isaac. It's good to talk to you, man. How are you doing? I'm doing well, thanks for having me really appreciate it. What was the road between being blown up by the I e D and getting toward your foundation? What was happening in between? And how long did that take? It was a blast. Um, literally and figuratively. Oh, my gosh. So, my coming from Balboa, I actually lived in an apartment by myself for a little while. And then, um, I was on my way to Um, I had another foundation that was building me a house up here in Fallbrook. And in between, Then I was having to live. Um, find an apartment and everything and worry Foundation actually. They saved a spot for me. Um, and they kept it open. Just make sure that I actually had a place to go if I needed a fullback somewhere. Hey, how old were you when you were medically retired and 2013 shoot? Um, was 22 Yes. Oh, and a 22 having gone in the military. I'm guessing you didn't have a lot of experience with living on your own. No, no, not at all. Um, I joined the military at 18 on and I was a time I was 20 and Was injured. Can't just got It just got divorced, and I had no idea how it was to live on my own and just being like tennis sitting in an apart. One bedroom apartment by myself, is a little lonely. You know, there are V a programs available and the Department of Defense has some programs. But from what we've heard, they're notoriously slow. And if a guy in your life situation has to wait like a year and a half, two years for the stuff to kick in, man that could be devastating, And that's that's why we're such a big believers in Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. You are too Absolutely the worry foundation. They help with any if there's any type of meat needs that way they help you like to fill that gap like the time in between that you're waiting on things like that They were there. Gonna help with that that in between time and make it make it so much easier, And we've heard some money so much from you guys over the years about how the loss of the camaraderie, the structure, everything that you had in the military, you know, all that disappears overnight. When you get wounded, or you get injured, and then you're out on your own. And just all of that at once is, you know it's too much for anybody to deal with. And Warrior Foundation steps in and then how did they? How did they provide you? Structure and camaraderie? Where? How does that factor into your life at the Freedom Station? They have, um, houses right there. They have a little Our hunts That kind of everybody's in close proximity. It's a gated, gated area stone. You know, nobody that doesn't isn't supposed to be there is getting in. Um, there's other guys that air there is well other bets. Other military personnel that I come in, and they bring in camaraderie. Like just like that. Specially with the wolf pack. I mean, bring veterans from Theo Army, Navy Marine Corps. I don't think we have any. We haven't had any airman in there yet. But, um Is bringing us together, toe play, play a game or a place for that we all love. And it's the word foundation provides for that. They make it to where the they give us the access to be able to do that. And the, um Excuse me doing a mobility and the wheelchairs toe. Keep doing that, you know, right, and the guys are counting on you, which I know means a lot to a guy who was a Marine. It's it's a team thing. Isaac is great to talk to you, man. We appreciate the time we're doing our best. Our audience is doing our best. And thanks. Good to talk to you. You talk good talking with you, too. Thank you. So it takes money to make Warrior Foundation freedom station work. Obviously, we're trying to raise a half million dollars this week. I'm just looking at this study right here that a corner of adults plan to buy a Christmas present for themselves this year. The stock market closing. The other 75% are lying in the stock market closed almost 30,000 points yesterday. Now I know some of you are having the worst year of your lives financially. But those of you who aren't or her having the best year of your life, because some people are some businesses are exploding. How about you throw us a little money? Go to armstrong yeti dot com Armstrong and getting dot com Just to sum it up. It's at the point that these warriors at the highest risk Of homelessness, joblessness, suicide, the rest of it. Warrior Foundation Freedom Straight Freedom Station is there for post traumatic stress, Traumatic brain injury there, there with transitional housing, New prosthetic limbs rehab, helping a kid who's never wanted to be anything but a Marine. Now he's not only not a marine, but he's been injured. Sometimes terribly. Yeah. Good luck. Bye. No, no. No Warrior Foundation. Freedom Station doesn't do that. They help these guys adjust and and make the transition a happy, productive lives. It's a beautiful, beautiful thing. And we need your support. Good. Armstrong and getting dot Com. So, yes. "God bless those old folks. Seven between 65 84, then the predictable decline for between 15 64 Yeah. 3 30 to 49 surely underlying conditions and exactly 0 29 years of age or younger zero under $20 this girls we're gonna follow the science. So if there's one thing that I would like to change about coverage of the whole Cove in thing Is acting like the announcement of somebody testing positive means freaking anything right When I hear that old time, the the president of something or other or the star of whatever whatever is tested positive for covert. Well, are they in the tiny group of people that this is a big deal for are they in the vast majority of groups of people were okay, They're going to stay home for two weeks, which is not really newsworthy. You It's not worth you telling me that something's got covered. If they're like the vast majority of people and it doesn't really do much, right, alright. If only we could save 99% of us 99% of us actually 99, a half percent of us Survive this thing. So quit quit with acting like it's a big deal. Fearmongering sells a preacher who fought against code restrictions. This tested positive who cares? Yeah, whatever. He knew he was taking a risk. He's an adult. He's an American. He was exercising his living relatively. Ironically, a man who said he would keep his business open. No, it's not freaking ironic, a relatively minor risk. If I walk through a room of people with covert breathing on me, I'm not exactly putting a gun to my head. I don't want to get it because there is a chance bad things could happen, right? But so lottery ticket I don't want to buy. All right. Well, now, right, fight it. Fight it. We gotta get to Warrior Foundation Freedom station. What That is, in case you don't know if you do know it's all inspiring is what it is actually amazing. It actually is. Yeah, it's beyond good. It Z. It reminds you. Oh, that's right. Human beings have the capacity to do enormous good. I almost forgot. And every time I talked to some of these guys who've had limbs blown off fighting wars for us On but then still have a positive attitude and managing to make their lives work. I it helps me makes me feel like okay. I got no problems. I should be complaining about today and how part of how they get to that attitude is the help of Warrior Foundation Freedom Station and said You know, it's it's something that our our government should be able to pull off. But they're not for whatever reason, and every year I think there's no point in dwelling on that. Let's just focus on the fact that somebody is doing it. Yeah, that Sandy Lamm cooler when she founded Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. That's precisely what she was thinking. There should not be this need, But there is I could either spend the rest of my life lobbying the Via Or I could just fill the need till they maybe get their act together. So worried Foundation Freedom Station and get the name right? It's not the other one. It has the word warrior and it's very important they feel in the need. It's fabulous. "Dollars this stunning they don't spend anything on fundraising, Which is why we're doing this. And the money just flows to the guys in the programs, and there are quite a few. But the razors turned in a special custom made boots so the guys could wear their boots information over their prosthetics. And all sorts of stuff Now Freedom Station and freedom station to our transitional housing for our bravest, wounded warriors on D just it's it's not an understatement to say that you and the crew are saving lives. Well, that's very I'm just honored to be able to walk in these heroes shadows and it's It is an incredible thing. I sit back a little bit and think we just had a new wheelchair come in for one of our Navy warriors, and it's a special wheelchair made. Especially for his body and his type and his injuries, and I'm telling you, it makes such a difference. It's an ultralight wheelchair. It truly makes a difference on him being Maurin dependent in his own home, and we kind of do a little bit what the government can't or won't and we're honored to be able to do that. Um, since that time Like you said. How hard is it to get a boot on? Have a zipper put up the back so that the guys don't have a gym shoe on their prosthetic, and nobody knows that they're an amputee. How hard is it to get, um a cottage and have it decked out right down to the place mats on the tables. And when it's a tough day, when a warrior finds out he's not going to be able to stay in the Marine Corps or the Navy or the Army, and so It takes about 78 months after they find out for them to get their retirement papers. So why leave them live in a barracks when they're not going to be in the military any longer, So we have a cottage very close to the Naval Medical Center in San Diego area and they can get up, Put their arms and legs on go up deal with their PTSD all of their medical stuff, and then Come back home at night and learned to live like a mister or missus and you know, by not letting him get out on the streets and develop bad behaviors we really don't want them to have. It has been a life altering and and I do have to share one thing very important. We were without a salary of any kind until about a year ago. And then the need became so big that I waited 10 years for a very in Credible colonel in the Marine quarter. Retire at 31 years and his heart is the right heart for our foundation, And he now is the president of our foundation, which gives me a little bit of a break now, and he is an incredible person for our guys, and he has developed all of the outdoor therapy programs that we need in particular right now. This year, he is fabulous and I have to tell you, we go hunting and surfing. Let's face it. I don't look good in waiters and going fishing. Fly fishing. I don't That's more his style, But it's an incredible, um, of, um, kind of like expansion of our foundation and again. Ah, he doesn't take Ah, large salary. He is incredible with the guys and you know when they need a little bit of that Marines stuff that those war dogs need. He He's the man to go do that. I could do the mom stuff. He does the Marines stuff. Sandy Lamm, Cooler CEO and founder of Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. Sandy will stay in touch this week. We'll do our best. All right. Bless your hearts. And thank you, everyone. Truly this year, there is a lot of need and we are meeting that needs. So bless you. Thank you very much, right. You got it. Here's what you do. You just go toe Armstrong and getting calm. There's a big banner there. You can't miss it. You click on it and you donate what you can, whether it's $10 or $10,000. And we've had some whales through the years who understand that it's these warriors that got us this sort of freedom that we enjoy and profit from. And saying he's such a great, you know, In addition to being a CEO and founder of the Organization organization, she's verbally gifted. She's just a good spokesman for the organization. But you know the part that amazes me since the first time we visited years ago. Is how these guys who have been in war situations get to hang out together and talk to each other. Because I've I've known a few people. Including my brother who have served in war zones, and they don't talk to other people, and it's not good for them and they they can't talk to other people. It's just there's just something about The experience, and I'm winning when they get together and stay in a little, you know, like dorm like setting like they've got there and talk to other people who they feel comfortable talking to and you know, and just work through all that stuff. Mentally, that is huge. Oh, that is so huge. Ah, place to do that, in between getting booted out of the military Because you're you're wounded and getting back to a regular life that just need that transition time card in their yard. You're wounded. You're young. You're struggling with the things you've seen and done and the rest of it. And then the government says, Yeah, we'll get you your your money about eight months. I mean, can you imagine? It's just terrible. And where your foundation freedom station is there for the guy in time. Figure out a place to stay. How to get a job. "Ever been around in my entire life That doesn't provide coffee. There's a coffee machine. It works some of the time, but it's complicated because you can get a caramel macchiato. No one caramel macchiato. I want a cup of coffee. Sorry. Can't do that, right? Well, and it's especially important because we have important work to do raising money for Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. I'll tell you Give me a little insight into my crazy head. I get nervous as we approach this week, raising money for WFS because we have seen the work they do we have seen we have known The guys they help. We have heard the stories we have met. The guys who are just freshly injured are just a medically discharged and you can see that they're at a Critical crossroads in their lives on these are our heroes, these air our finest young men and women. Sandy Lime coolers, The CEO and Founder of Warrior Foundation. Freedom Station joins us now, Sandy. Greetings. How are you? Good morning. Oh, I'm wonderful. I've been up since about three o'clock in the morning. Getting ready for you guys. I'm so excited. Well, hey, we are two for folks who are brand new Toe Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. How did it get started? Let's start there. Oh, wow. In 2000 and four I was up at a naval hospital, and I noticed that because you know the Southwest region. That's what the military kind of calls all of everything west of the Mississippi. Basically, um I was up at the hospital, which is an active duty Naval hospital and Noticed a bunch of Marines very young back in 2004. The war was just kicking off and one was missing a right arm and one had his left arm attached with pins to his crutch, and they were amputees, and they were in bad shape. And I'm looking at these guys. And in fact, it was right around this time of year in in November before Thanksgiving. And I said to the guys, What do you guys need for Christmas? And even though they were all ripped up pretty good, they kind of stood tall came to almost an attention. And they said nothing, Ma'am. We're fine, ma'am. We've done what we need to do. And they were very, very courageous. And so I thought, Yeah, right. I waited, so they got in the elevator. I hit the stop button, and I turned around on him like a mom And I said, Okay, Look, I'm a Navy wife. I'm a navy. Mom. What do you guys need for Christmas? I realized that you can't solicit in any way, shape or form. And so without blinking an eye. Those Marines told me how to solve their problem, and they basically said, ma'am, he uses his right arm. I use my left arm. We button our shirt. We can lace our boots, but the one thing we can't do and we keep getting in trouble for it is we can't shave each other. And I said Okay, Roger that. What do you guys need? They said, ma'am, we need the neurotic. Oh, cool, skin razor that dispenses the lotion. It's got one button in the front. You can use it. Shower and I said Okay, I'll write that down on my hand. Okay. My then 2004 Palm pilot and I went home and I told my husband take me over to the Navy base. He's Hey, Did 31 years in the Navy is an old warrant, And so we went and had a razor class because I'm raising girls. Uh um, The razors were $68 apiece back then, And I thought while these Marines have champagne taste on a beer budget, and then I found out that we needed 300 of them and my husband's face when a little white and he said, Babe, That's Babe. That's a little above my pay grade. Okay, so in the middle of the night, I just kept thinking this country can do better. If these guys need razors, and they've lost their arms and legs for us, we can do better. And so I wrote to 7 60, a M radio and I had a full head of steam and I hit send about four o'clock in the morning and the producer Answered me. Then I got really scared. Then, um, I'll cut this short because I get passionate and keep going. Um, long story short. They called me into the studio. I had to make sure that my daughter who was J. G at the time of in the Navy, and my husband would not go to jail. If I fund raised. We didn't want all end up in Leavenworth. And in 45 minutes we raised $68,000 and I called every one of those people back. We got the razors, and in fact, the radio station called Norelco and shamed them. I'm sure and we got The razors at half price. And so we started this foundation out with $30,000 back in 2004, and my husband said, Don't take a salary. God has blessed us. You just make this go, Sandy. So without ever running a foundation our foundation has raised over the years $18 million. Uh, and let me jump in here and point out that the efficiency of Warrior Foundation Freedom Station with your donated.

E. D. N. during which you lost the number your brother's from what I understand which is a terrible thing you suffered a broken back broken neck and in the recovery has been a I had a hell of a deal I know you you're not a complainer but man it's been a hell of a mountain to climb as in it it has its physical ones all light healed but mental wounds are stuck for awhile I actually had a a suicide attempt and after my recovery from a suicide and and it came came to fold and kind of sound a purpose through work foundation nine I can honestly say if I hadn't found shooting sandy I probably wouldn't be here it took me by the hair and it took me everywhere they went they introduced me to a lot of people and and they willing to me up with the low tech wheelchair basketball program and it's been in America ever since you need guys that have that are single double triple and she's missing eyes missing fingers kind of put your life in perspective and when I saw what those guys are doing and you know those are truly my hi heroes and my my saviors and five forever yeah we talk about this every year and people who are who've been through these experiences know what you can't talk to those of us who haven't been there it's just it's just it's it's just too hard to do I know I have a brother who's been in combat and he doesn't talk to anybody about it other than other soldiers who have been in the same situation you need you need your your brothers and sisters who have been there around you to help you heal and that's something you get with for your foundation freedom station it's it's a it's a small organization but it's it's our fault I mean we reach people from other states we've helped the help you better in dial from come back they needed to redo their prosthetics we've unfortunately cancers very big grant is is getting ours are our service members now and we fly families like that to you service members they can't travel we at home grown based organization I mean the launchers that run this organization from the president's our founder to taller board members no no all the service members that they help and not very many organizations say that it's a it's a home organization it's it's family and let the men and women there one this organization they truly do care about the mission statement and they truly care about what they do and and it shows we're talking a junior Rodriguez retired navy corpsman who has been held so much bye warrior foundation freedom station and is turning around and in doing his best to help his fellow men and women in uniform which is a really really cool thing but it's no exaggeration junior that the order foundation freedom stations saves the lives and save lots of it does I mean save my life I honestly wouldn't be here if it weren't for them and I know that it saved a lot of my brothers and sisters lives mean they give me the opportunity to pay back and pay it forward and I am unable to to help out veterans that would be lost I mean when you suffer from invincible and when you suffer from mental anguish it's not something that we really talk about it not something that we really discuss so it takes one to know one if it kind of makes sense and I've been blessed that a give me the opportunity afforded me the the opportunity to to help others they save my life and I know that saved many my brothers lives in another day wouldn't be here without their help well you know Jack made reference to how it's really difficult for non combat veterans understand what you've gone through and and those of us who love this country and understand the sacrifices you made.

"The basketball team and helping help helping them look great in their in their wheelchairs out there battling on the court. Like, no other. I mean, national champions this last year. Just incredible actually went to. To Germany and played over in Germany, and that trophy has never left Germany there. And our team went over there and beat them on their home floor and took that trophy away from them. And apparently the crowd words such good sports over there Germany, but anyway, they went over there and whoop them. So, you know, this is a retirement and complaining show as all of you listening. No. But you know, we love these golden moments, and they really truly are golden moments. When when we can we could spotlight an organization, that's right here in our hometown native, sandy against Bradley. And I probably a number of you out there, listening native, San Diego, or at least made sandy on your home for many many years. And you know, what's interesting too is if your native San Diegan, one of the main ways a lot of us got to be native, San Diego is if either us or will not s excuse me, our parents or grandparents had served in Dallas area income here perfectly. And a lot of you that aren't natives are here now may have come because your military service. Brought triggered that for me, Bradley. My dad was in the army during World War Two from Detroit and his tour brought him through San Diego, and it was probably somewhere in February March. It's probably seventy degrees out and he's thinking about back home. You know, what I think we're going to stay here. Raise the family. Thanks, dad. I, you know, we appreciate you made that decision San Diego versus somewhere in Detroit. But so yes, I mean, San Diego is roots are in the military and all of those people who serve sometime come home sometimes and a lot of times come home with an with an injury or disability of one kind or another. And so this organization or your foundation freedom station has touched thousands and thousands of lives and literally ninety four point seven cents of every dollar gets to the to that soldier. And so what that means? You got a lot of people down they're giving their gifts of time and talents for free volunteering, and there's there's many ways we can we can do good in the world, folks. You know, write a check that does good getting down there in the in the trenches and and being side by side with the other. The people there helping is another way. And so if you've got the heart for writing a check they need to check. Absolutely, okay. And not just writing a check again since we are a financial planning show here. There's a future for ways you can do this. They are a five oh one C three. So there are tax deduction reasons to do this on top of the giving reasons. Okay. So this can help from a financial standpoint, you can do things like if you're over seventy and a half, and you're forced to take money out of your counts called required. Minimum distributions some of you wish you didn't have to do that. Because it creates extra taxes for you will guess what you can take some or all of those requirement distributions and send it directly to charity or charities in this case, certainly the warrior foundation freedom station, and you won't be taxed, and it'll satisfy the arm d you might have highly appreciative stock as an example, where if you wanted to sell that you'll have all capital gains and all these taxes, and those are gifts that you can make to avoid taxes for you. And they don't pay tax because they're a charity, and there's just a double winning approach there. So sorry, David cut you off a bit. But from. Giving standpoint there are certainly lots of ways to give. And of course, if you need any help on the best ways to do that where that situation to help you out where the technicians to help you with your heart and do it in in in a way that it helps you on your bottom, y and so there there's there's so many were planning ways to do this certainly during your lifetime, and we urge and hope that you give financially or with your time. But certainly you can leave things in your state. But this reasons, I know there are a lot of you. I want this to be very clear a lot of you in San Diego. And a lot of our clients have homes, maybe not only primaries, but rental properties that you might have bought in a long time ago, and we frequently have clients who in retirement don't want to be a landlord anymore. Wanna sell one of these properties for one reason or another make life simpler, for financial reasons to improve on that property, a number of reasons, but they're always terrified to sell these properties. Because again, this huge and make no mistake about it will be a huge tax burden that you'd have to face to sell. This property, we'll guess what their strategy is called a charitable remainder trust in that's appropriate for your situation. This is a beautiful strategy where you can sell the property and pay no capital gain taxes, whatsoever and get an income tax deduction. And you keep the value of your home, and it generates income for the rest of your life. And what remains at the very end goes to a worthy cause in this case, the foyer foundation freedom station. There's so many ways here in another way. If you got a car, you don't need anymore. There you go. You know, they'd love to have it in that car. Would you get a tax deduction for that fair market value of that car, and it gets sold at auction and all of those funds end up at warrior foundation freedom station, going to work ninety four point seven cents of every every piece of metal almost of that makes up that car, plastic depending on what are you drive, whatever whatever they're made of anymore. You know, it's gonna help is going to help us soldier in need. So, you know, the Epstein white phone number. I'm gonna go ahead and share it with you. And we certainly could facilitate a meeting with with sandy and junior the who heads up the basketball squad and to see what where your heart lead you and the phone number to reach us is.
