"Murray. So we are very optimistic overall on Kyle Pitts. And then we have Wanda Robinson. Now, he is a good late season bet and late season specifically is what I want to emphasize here. The average timeline takes about ten months, which for him would be right around week one. So he has a solid chance to play, but definitely not guaranteed. Wide receiver's stats tend to dip the first year back, but elite athleticism does work in Wanda Robinson's favor. So expect the bounce back to a 100% right near the end of 2023 and a progressive ramp up that may be a little bit hit or miss on the way there. And that's all we have for today, so until next time signing off. Great stuff is always pain from Deepak who breaks it all down, talking about Kyler Murray and Arizona cardinal fans sit and try and figure out if for a team that had their win total at 9 and a half a season ago if they can just get to 5 wins this year as they'll go through a little bit of a rebuild on their own. And when we talk about rebuilds, it's obviously important to get your take on the draft. And I know we don't have to do a deep dive here by any stretch of the imagination. We're not looking for draft grades on all 32 teams. So if there was a team that stood out to you in a positive manner in terms of a draft that you liked overall, who would you give your a grade to? And I think there's a couple of ways to assess the draft, right? Did we get value relative to the board? And from an outsider's perspective, everyone's not in the trenches of these war rooms. Did your favorite team or did team a get value relative to consensus mocks? And the other way to do this is if there were a team that's a couple pieces away, did you get some day one impact contributors. So I think there's a couple of teams that fit this bill. I know a couple of your buddies, this is their favorite team. I was surprised, but just kind of looking through some things. I liked what the Steelers have done basically all off season. I also thought their draft was solid. You go up, get a day one starter tackle with Broderick Jones position in need at one point. He was thought to be the top tackle in this draft, has to get some things figured out with his technique, his head dips like he's a horse coming down the stretch of the nose. He's got to get that figured out. Tough, tough to block when you can't quite see what's in front of you. So long story short is I think they'll get that figured out and he could potentially be the best tackle in this draft. Then you go out and you get Pittsburgh royalty and Joey Porter junior, there's a lot of mock drafts like a week out that had Porter going to Pittsburgh in the first round. Keanu Benton was a guy that was getting a lot of buzz for hitting the back end of round one leading up to the draft. Big athletic guy, Darnell, Washington was supposed to be around two pick at worst, some filled guys believe. He's the most complete tight end in this draft and this dealers get him in the back end of round three, and I like Nick Herbert, just kind of a tweener. So he drops a little bit, Corey tries physical corner in round 7. I like what the colts did. And Chris Ballard is a guy that I think we were all very high on initially when he got that colt's job and he was working with some smart sophisticated people and kind of pushed some of those guys to the wayside the last 18 to 24 months, but I think he kind of found his way here. And I loved what Ballard and the colts accomplished. It was a top three draft from a value points perspective. Effectively, what was every player's draft expectation range versus where Indianapolis picked them. There was a great value. But I think the philosophy change was huge here. There was an organizational shift, right? It just feels like Ballard finally surrendered. If you think about the colts the last couple years, right? It's a recycling of old quarterbacks, quarterbacks that were sent packing by their previous employer. Ballard rips the band aid off, right? Drafts Anthony Richardson, who's the highest upside quarterback in this draft by a long mile. And once Shane steichen improves, Anthony Richardson says, that's my guy. You let him start the colts tenure with this quarterback knowing that steichen was responsible for the eagles offensive. Shift. If you look at the eagles initially, then all of a sudden steichen takes over, there was this massive surge there and then you see Jalen hurts growth and you know, awesome stuff there. So if he's says, hey, I can do this with Anthony Richardson. You give him that chance as you saw what he did with Jalen hurts. No one. Nobody really thought Jalen hurts is going to be that guy. Then you look at the entire body of work. Ten of 12 picks for the colts were premium positions, right? Quarterback receiver secondary edge rusher offensive tackle. We pointed this out years ago and then others started to run with it. But Ballard was building his team around non premium positions and paying large sums to do so. Linebacker interior defensive line. Interior roll line. Not how you build the team for long-term success. So I was really impressed with how Balor and the colts completely changed their philosophy. Then I saw your outline here and I completely agree. There's two drafts that I like that came from contenders. The bills in the Bengals. And I think going back to the top, did you find some contributors, or do you at least have a clear plan that we can identify? And I thought the bills got two day one contributors. It's not going to be at all shocking if dawn Kane ends up being the bill's second or third favorite target of Josh Allen. A position of need was Osiris torrents at pick 28 in round two. He was being mocked ten days before the draft, the back end of round one. I think Torrance has a chance to start day one, be a plus run blocker, Dorian Williams, athletic freak at linebacker four four speed, totally

"Than all those guys. You know, he's got really good change of direction. He's really physical. And so I don't know from based on the people I talk to, at least the coaches, there was much more, there was almost a sense of awe about Devin Witherspoon from Illinois. Just by the way, just ran a four, four 40 apparently, Daniel Jeremiah saying that's what happened at the Illinois pro day today. Be loved by somebody the way Daniel loves the Illinois corner, right? Exactly. But he's super instinctive and he is really physical, much like he plays like he's Patrick Peterson size. But I think Christian and Gonzalez because he's longer, he's bigger. He has more straight line speed. I don't know if he's been as consistent and maybe was a show to be as instinctive or the playmaker that Witherspoon was last year, but I do think people are going to look at them as we don't want to miss out on this run on corners. That's why the Giants moving as far as the Titans, I think their first move is to go try to get Jackson Smith and jig, but if he's there, I think he is clearly the best receiver in this draft and for context, they had Ohio State produced two first round receivers last year. Obviously Chris a lot of Garrett Wilson, both guys had terrific rookie years. They both were a thousand yard receivers. And almost all the coaches I talked to played all those guys thought Jackson have been jigga is a better player than those guys are. Better change the direction, more physical, better size, and I think he's a really good fit for the Titans. The reason why I have them dropping down dropping jumping back up is because I think levis could be a good fit there. You have Ryan Tannehill, 35, a little banged up the last couple of years, and also this is the last year of his deal. I think it would be a good situation for levis to go in there. He is, he is a polarizing guy to some degree like Anthony Richardson. Both guys elite arm strength, good athletes. He runs well, obviously not as well as Anthony Richardson, but very inconsistent. His first year as a starter there, he came in after spring ball so he didn't have time to acclimate Liam Cohen was the new offensive coordinator. And he had a terrific year. Then last year, Liam Collin goes back to the NFL, they lose a bunch of good offensive alignment and Wanda Robinson. And people can see from what I was told and by the coaches, just they felt like he was kind of seeing ghosts. They didn't feel like he was as accurate or maybe had trusted what he was doing. The system wasn't as good. I get why there is a little bit of concern with him, probably, like I said, the same with Richardson, but maybe not as high of a potential. Okay, and then if we look at the top ten, you have the Raiders where a lot of people are penciling, will levison, you have been choosing Paris Johnson as the first offensive lineman off the board out of Ohio State. So you think that will levis is on the board, they're going to go with protecting Jimmy G or whomever. They're going to get at some point that that's their first order of business for the Vegas writers. I would think so. I don't think you bring in Jimmy Garoppolo to take somebody else who it's not like, I don't think the writers are going to look at him and go, okay, if this guy was if we had the first pick in the draft, we got to take him. You know, I think you have to shore up your offensive line just that much more. Now look, if they, if they feel really confident on the left side, they could end up going for somebody else and then say, hey, we can take there's a really good Darnell writers a really good right tackle from Tennessee who I don't think goes in the first 20 picks because he's a right tackle. But everybody in the SEC I spoke to loved him. They thought he was a nasty, really physical road grader who moves better than you think. And if they wanted right tackle, maybe they go someplace else. And or they drop down to try to get them because I don't think you're taking a right tackle in the top ten. Okay. And then because again, you have some trades as we've just established the Giants moving up to 12 to take Wilkins out of Oregon. Christian Gonzalez can tell us pardon me out of Oregon and then tightness moving up to take will levis. And again, this may just be a gut feel mock draft thing, but in case you have gotten some information that you're willing to share, you don't think anybody's going to trade up with the Cardinals at three, and they're just going to take Willie Anderson. You don't think there's going to be some sort of godfather offer of somebody for Anthony Richardson knowing the colts are sitting out there. If I am the Cardinals, I am not like, I think he might be the surest thing in this draft. He is such a good player. He plays will Anderson play so hard. It was really productive. If you can get him, I think you regret not taking it. You know, I don't know what kind of package somebody would give, but if you're talking about packaging like somebody else's first with a second and a fourth or something, I'm sorry. I think will Anderson is going to be in all pro, numerous times over. And I think he is exactly what they need in terms of to upgrade their defense and really change the demeanor of the place. I think he's that good of a player. Well, and this is going to be one of the best games of chicken, I can recall in recent drafts here. Where the it will have to sit there and think if they really, really want Richardson. Let's just assume that. I know what we can be. But just maybe flipping something to Arizona to just move up one and just remove all doubt. Then Arizona can move down, get some more picks and still get will Anderson. Or

"That should have been a category. I'm staying away from that team team. I think the car, I feel the same way about the cardinals. I don't want to bet on them. I don't want anyone on their fan. I just want to pretend they're not happening. Put them over in a corner. Craig, who do you have? Clyde Edwards. I hate myself for it, but I'm bad. You're bad. You're back on CH. You're three. I've done it every year. I'm not giving up yet. The second I read that the cheese are gonna opt for like a more power run offensive scheme. I was like the Michael Corleone godfather three move. It's like, damn you've changed. I'm back. You know, we should have done with Clyde Edwards to layer. We couldn't even make an acronym out of his name. That should have been our first sign that it might not have worked out for him. He doesn't really roll off the tongue. All right, next category is I wouldn't take him even if he was free guy. I'm just going to do it. It's a podcast. Let's make some noise. McCaffrey's not on my team. I'm Jesus not. He's played ten games up two years. I don't think he could stay in the field and he's not on my team. I have crossed him off my list. He's not in my draft board. I've told my scouts and everyone in my war room, we're not drafting him. He is a D and D do not draft. This is how the patriots number one draft too. Look at all the best players like AJ Brown, not on our board. I love high Fitz lab shots at the Patriots, like he's rooting for this amazing juggernaut of a drafting tape. You painted like the last 7 giant straps? Well, I hated the saquon fic and that you were out here just like trying to defend it for I'm still in. I'm still defending it. You caught me at a bad day with pat straps because we waved Devin assassin a couple days after waving. Our two third round tight ends that were so bad. We then had to overpay hunter Henry and Johnny Smith to make up for these two other third rounders. Anyway, it's kind of like the pitcher spot all these clothes after they got dumped and then like a couple months later you're like, man, these don't work for me. It's really bad. The last 6 years were tough from a job standpoint. Who do you have for wouldn't take them if you were free? So I probably would take it for free, but for me, it's Josh Jacobs, like for the Raiders. I just can't, there's no point in the draft he falls where I'm just like, when he had 250 carers a year, Josh Jacobs made nobody happy. And then now he's going into a Josh McDaniels timeshare where there's just no way he's going to make anyone happy. I would take him if he was literally free. The person I literally wouldn't take if they were unwavering is Kenny gallaudet. I wouldn't take him on my fantasy. Yeah, that's not fair. He doesn't count. He's going to get away with two damage. He's already pretty much free at this point. I got Darren Waller. Dan walking. I'm not walking away. He hasn't played all pre season he's been hurt. There's contract situations, devonta Adams is there. I don't love the Vegas offense in general this year and I don't need Darren Waller in the second or so. He's like fake hurt. I think he's waiting for his money to get his holding in. Yeah, that team definitely needs to spend more money on offense and ignore the lines in the defense. That was the wave leatherwood today. I couldn't believe it. I mean, if you just stack up all the John Gruden draft picks and you're like, every first rounder was a miss. It makes me feel better about the drafts. Who do you have DK? Well, I had gallaudet. He's trending towards being free anyway. That doesn't count. The other person I wrote down here is Michael Hardman. I'm just not falling for it again. The opposite of the Corleone. They're not sucking me back in with this equal Hardman thing. I refuse. That could have been a category, Craig. Michael Corleone? No, the you showed up at my door again. Batting your eyelashes at me and I'm not letting you in this time. That's my Cole Hardman. Somehow, we've all had him. He's been in the league three years. I feel like he's been on everybody's team. I've never been seduced. Oh my God. None of us took Zeke Elliott, which I think is an absolute outrage. I had him written down too. All right, high fits. Who's your somebody's got to get points on that team? Talk yourself into him guy. Craig mentioned him earlier. I mean, Michael Pittman for the cults, I mean, Michael Pittman literally has more receiving yards in his career than all the other culture receivers on the roster. Also, Michael Pittman played in the NFL for two seasons. And yet somehow that's true. They have nobody else. Who do you have, Craig? Christian Kirk on the Jags. Oh no. Who else is catching passes on this team? There's Evan engram. At tight end. The other receivers are Marvin Jones and zay Jones. He's the new Brandon cooks. I'm going to pay it right now. He will be the new Brandon cooks. You'll get a thousand yards every year with Trevor Lawrence and nobody will care about him. DK? I'm going to go with Wanda Robinson, rookie receiver for the Giants. Okay. Here's the deal. I'm nervous to get excited about a guy who's like 5 890 pounds. Or whatever. Like I got too excited about Ronda bor last year. You should learn from this. I should learn from my mistakes. I'm just not going to do it because the Giants don't have anyone else right now. They got Kenny gallaudet, who we've talked about. They have canaris Tony, who is, he plays once a week. The most chaotic player in the NFL maybe. We just don't know if he's going to play any given week. Starting shepherd coming off an Achilles, Colin Johnson, who was probably going to take over for Kenny holiday, tore his Achilles. The Rookie tight end, Bellinger, who Craig, San Diego state alone, Bellinger, he just got a concussion I don't think he's going to be playing week one. Who's going to be catching passes for the scene? They drafted him in the second round. Ostensibly with the plan. So I'm going with Wanda Robinson. I really like that one. I debated one day for my shameless Homer pick. Yeah. That's a great one. I can't believe I'm picking forth in this category that none of you took my guy.

"Talked about Zach Tom from wake forest is a potential day two pick for the dolphins as an outside zone tackle, but the packers jumped on him. I thought he was a great option there and then Kingsley enigma who we talked about. I mean, that's the guy. I think this is an underexploited market, right? All these guys, all these really good players go to Georgia and they go to Alabama, but like on the periphery, there's these players and all these other SEC schools who have to beat up on or have to win against the best players in college football consistently, you know? And you don't have the benefit of anybody else around you. And I think enigma is one of those guys that like, he was showing up on Georgia tape. He was showing up on big games in the SEC, so yeah, I love the fact that they got him in the 5th round. They took our two favorite offensive lineman in this draft. Your favorite was Zach Tom. Not your favorite, but you're obvious favorite. Yes. And my favorite, my co favorite, I should say, was Sean Ryan at a UCLA. A little bit short arm, but held his own against kayvon thibodeau. Just a couple of great additions there. I think those are two future starters on that offensive line. And that's, you know, we're always looking for capable offensive linemen this league and they got two of them in the mid rounds. Yeah, and the packers I would comp and I don't know if you'd say this is fair or not, right? But I would comp the packers drafting offensive linemen to the Steelers drafting wide receivers, right? There is just something about their formula, their measurements, their whatever, where they just don't seem to miss a whole lot on offensive line. They just seem to have whatever is their process in this entire thing. It's just always seems to work out. I mean, and maybe it's the coaching, maybe it's a system, it could always be Aaron Rodgers, of course. Obviously, but in Brett Favre back to back, making them look good, but you know, I do think there's something about that. Right now, the focus is on trains and COVID precautions. Rioters and employees wear masks. All buses and trains have improved air filtration. And we're working hard to get all our trains back on the track. My name is Jeff doubt. I'm doing my part to keep the D.C. area moving. The colts. This was an interesting grade from you. You gave the Colton a, they didn't have a whole lot of draft cap of the work with, at least not high drive capital, but you like what they did. Yeah. I think the best part of it was Bernard Raymond in the third round. So you have, you know, you pick up a legit guy who's gonna compete for the left tackle job in the third round. And again, I mean, maybe this is the, this is us falling victim to, you know, guys we've heard of getting drafted lower and maybe all these other teams just had terrible grades on them. You know, and I think that's certainly possible. But I think they needed to kind of pull a rabbit out of a hat here and I think they did just about as good as anybody else could have asked in that situation, you know? Okay. No. I like Alec pierce too. I mean, I think he was overlooked in this receiver class. I think he does a lot of things really well. Like almost like in, I don't know, is it outrageous to say like he kind of has like a, it's almost like a cross between a golden Tati and Quan boldini kind of vibe where it's like, he's always covered, but he's just so good, you know? Coming down with balls. And so I liked Alec pierce too. All right, I'm fine with Alex pierce. He doesn't move me one way or another. I thought he was he was slotted perfectly. I would have said he should have been the 53rd pick of the draft. And oh, he went 53. So it just worked out really well. I do like jelani Woods a little bit better. And look, the colts utilize their tight ends so well and the one thing I wonder about with this team going its next season is can they replace Jack Doyle as that, you know, sort of move tight end who has so much value in the run game, not necessarily it's just a pass catcher. I think Woods could potentially come back become that guy. I don't know if he does this as a rookie, but I thought that was a nice day to pick right there. And yeah, I thought it was solid overall. I'll see you take, you finish it out taking the Yale guy, you know? You gotta, every year you gotta take a guy from like Yale, you know? You just don't know. You don't know what could happen. Anything could happen. Got the boorish manners of Yale. He could be, he could be in skull and bones, and then he could like, you know, he could really get you connected with other stuff. That's what it is. W use your round 7 pick on someone who's gonna help you network with your next career. Just in case. You know, secret society types. All right, let's go to the chiefs here, grade a for the chiefs. Yeah, I like this cheap draft just fine. Again, do I give it? I think I give it an a minus. I think a is just, that's out of hand. But, you know, you like it top to bottom here. Yeah, I mean, Trent mcduffie first and you know, I could be wrong on this. You know, I wrote that he profiles a lot like a receiver who, you know, you're playing the Broncos, obviously in the same division. And Russell Wilson and his receivers are going to get so many guys on the second and the third route, you know, on a given play because Russell Wilson buys so much time with the ball. And mcduffie is one of those corners that just like, I don't know, when I watch him on film, it's like, he seems like the kind of guy who's not gonna get screwed up by that, you know? He can stick with that speedy guy from, you know, whatever Denver uses kind of that speedy option to sort of shake or receiver on the second or the third concept in the route. You know, he seems like the guy that's gonna stick with him. I just thought he was a really smart player. And that's kind of how he came across to me anyway. But in addition, I think George Carla is, I mean, I'll just be banging the table for him until kingdom comes. I mean, looks like one of the mean older brothers and Rudy, and just plays really solid football. Doesn't he? Like he just looks like he looks like a cross between like one of Rudy's brothers who didn't believe in him and buzz from home alone, lost in New York. Yeah. Yeah. And how could you not draft a guy like that, you know? That automatically shoots him to the top of my board. Absolutely another good guy to network with. Yeah, just opens a lot of doors when you look like that. Sky more were you a sky more fan? So it's funny. I was not a sky more fan. I liked them fine as a day two pick. I know there was a lot of buzz about, you know, he should go late one. I wasn't there with him, but this is the landing spot for him. And I know it sounds like mahomes is there, so it's a landing spot for any receiver, but what he did at central Michigan was so heavy. Western western Michigan. Western Michigan. I don't know how I keep on screwing up those directionals. Western central I always mix up. Well, one is one is further west. Well, we'll cover eastern Michigan on the next show. But they were so RPO heavy in that offense. And it's so easy to envision him just plugging in. I don't think he's the star. I don't think he's, you know, this is not a bold take, but he's not tyreek hill. But he just slots in so nicely as your second or third receiver. And he's probably going to have a really productive like three or four years here. Yeah, and you know, boy, just not a draft analysis thing. You nailed it, but just the name like sky and you're just like, oh yeah, you know, this is, this is the kind of guy we need here. Sky. Very cool. Absolutely. But yeah, I mean, I think that they did a nice job throughout. I mean, Brian cook, I mentioned in my draft grades. I thought was one of those guys where the chiefs have always had really good support players. Like when they had tyron Matthew, they drafted really good complimentary support players throughout. And now that you don't have him, I think that cook is one of those guys that can not grow into a tyrant meth, 'cause he's a different body type, different profile, but he can do so much, you know? And he'll be on the field for every down. He's not going to be a liability in the run game. All in all, thought it was really smart. And I laugh when any of these coaches say we didn't draft for need. This entire draft was a draft for need so many of these teams just went for it, you know? And tried to get all the dudes that just to survive next season. There's no more such thing as best player available. Well, let's go into the jets get in a here and we talked about them first round plenty here, but nice day two picks here. Nice role players in breece hall and Jeremy Rucker. Yeah, I thought it was just solid all around. Joe Douglas did a nice job. And I thought, I don't know, what did you think of coming back in round one for Jermaine Johnson? I thought that was solid, but yeah, to just put a bow on it. I mean, Jeremy ruckert was a guy who I think, and it's interesting. I was watching his Ohio State film, and I don't know if this is where the forty-niners stole it from, or if they stole it from the forty-niners. But with Jeremy Rucker was doing a lot was he was doing that HVAC stuff and he was coming across the line and with the forty-niners do is they arc that block. And so they, but they're trying to get more momentum at the line of scrimmage, right? And they're trying to get their blockers with a full head of steam to hit the line almost like the arena league, but in the rule book, you can't really do it that way. So you have to do is kind of arc it and kind of almost bend them like he's coming around the corner of a track. And he was doing that all the time at Ohio State's exactly what Kyle Shanahan does with his tight ends in San Francisco. And obviously with the jets are trying to do because they're running that offense in Florida park. And so I thought that was a really interesting pick. Like almost a guy you could look on film and say, that's a guy who profiles in our offense. Yeah, you just look at it and it's like 5 picks in the first one O one and then they just had two afterwards, but that's okay. But 5 picks in the first one to one and it's just, these are 5 starters. These are 5 guys who you are going to drop in there and get a lot of production out of over the next couple of years. And that is important. That is important to do. Yeah, max Mitchell too. I mean, you never know. I'm going to never say never. I remember Jenny rentes and I covering the jets and we were looking at it was like roster cutdown day and we were like, we shouldn't run a story on this guy because he's going to get cut. And there was two of them. And one was Damon Harrison. It turned out to be snacks and ended up having a nice long career in the NFL and the other was Austin Howard, who another guy with the jets who came on, got a big second contract with the Raiders. It was like 6 8 from one of the directional Iowa schools or directional Illinois schools, maybe. But I don't want to be like Gary in just a region of. An entire region of some Midwestern outpost. Northern Iowa, sorry, sorry, northern Iowa. Austin Howard is yours. But yeah, so it's possible. All I'm saying is, you know, some of these guys like max Mitchell was on the move a ton at Louisiana, like had to run all over the place. So I could see him profiling as another guy that fits that offense. It's fun and it's nice to see the jets in a defined offense where they are drafting players who play in that offense because even if Zach Wilson doesn't work out and I think this is what nobody's talking about, they can wildly overspend on a veteran and be competitive like I think in year three very quickly. Giants, we are moving into the a minus. We talked about their first round. We both enjoyed their top ten picks here. You were already a big Evan Neal guy, and I'm kind of a big K9 thibodeaux guy. I'm a K9 tiptoe defender, I guess. Day two was interesting. I do think cordell flot is going to immediately start as their nickelback. Joshua izu, the guard out of North Carolina. I just basically stacking up on offensive linemen here and then sort out who's good news, not. The one that was interesting is one Dale Robinson, the wide receiver out of Kentucky, diminutive playmaker, return specialist type. I just wonder, there's all this weird kind of buzz around kadarius Tony and maybe the new regime as high on Kubernetes Tony as the old one was, et cetera, et cetera. And that's a bummer. I like cady stony. I like Wanda Robinson too, but I don't know if we just got really redundant here with those two guys. More of you know what Wanda Robinson can be, it's our favorite, I don't know, it's been one of my favorite things to talk about with buffalo and with Brian Dave, but what could rondell Robinson be? He could be Isaiah McConaughey, I'm Mackenzie. I say Mackenzie, you know? And you do whatever you want to do with kadarius Tony and you just say screw it. And he played out of the backfield before. I mean, he's got it. He's got experience out of the backfield. Quite a bit of experience out of the backfield. And so it's just like just give him a chance, you know? And screw it. I mean, if you're down 15 points, which they're going to be quite a bit this year, at least for the beginning of the year, you know, leave him in there and have him be your third down back. And I think this guy is going to be a major factor. Boy, I bet if he was available for the rams like in round three or four, like I bet that that would have been snapped up in a heartbeat. It profiles is like a total rams player. I liked him, but back to your point on back to your point on a zoo. Here's the other reason I like that pick because you have your anchor spots. You have to tackle spots solidified. But if you're playing in a division now with the commanders and you're playing in a division with the eagles who are going to be able to put so much interior pressure on you, like you're going to have to figure out your gardener center spots. You're going to have to do that..

"Yep, how's that? How's that? That's better. We're getting there. That was like a minute, a little over a minute. We're getting there though. Okay, Britain covey, I think a lot of people have said Slade Bolden, right? Everybody has kind of made the jokes about Slade Bolden connected slave bold and Britain and Britain covey is maybe a little bit lesser known Slade Bolden. I guess is the best way to put it. West Coast late Bolden. Yeah, play Bolton after dark. Yeah. So I don't think he's as good of a receiver as Bolden is. You're not bringing him in for that and he should be UDF, I wouldn't draft him. He's an excellent excellent kick and punt returner. He's one of the best in college football this year. He has been the last few years. He's, I believe he's Mormon, he did a mission, so he's going to be a little bit older. That's going to limit his upside. Maybe he's a receiver. If they, you know, we've talked about them drafting a lot of guys, Marcus Jones, Bo Melton, Wanda Robinson, who can return kicks. I think they're going to find their kick returner elsewhere in the draft. Somebody who contributes in another way, if they don't, COVID's an easy fit, and I think, you know, even if they do, you bring him in as maybe another option. So if you bring in slave bold and you really bring him into play special teams, I think it's the same with Britain, Kobe, but he's just a little bit faster. He's a little more explosive. I actually think he's a better returner. If we're between the two, there's something to be said for the bold and Matt Jones relationship, but I think I'd rather have Kobe. Yeah, if you're going to make Julian Edelman Wes Welker, Danny Amendola type of comparisons. I would say that Kobe moves a little bit more like those guys enslaved bold in terms of explosiveness as short area agility. He pops off the tape a little bit more than somebody like Slade Bolden and his movements go. So I actually leaned a little bit more towards Britain, Kobe as well as my guy and that 7th round UDF a type of mold of who's the next settlement. If it's going to be anybody from this draft, I think it might more be Britain, COVID, and it will be Slade Bolden. Yep. Thank you. Okay, now we're hitting rhythm. So this is about trading up. We can talk about it in the prism of trading up, but also just Derek singly in general if he does have a fall on draft night as some draft analysts have theorized he might fall into the early teens or something like that. Do you feel like he's good enough as a prospect to go up and get him? Yeah, yeah, I mean, I've said this ever. I think he's the best corner in the draft. I do. The sauce gardener stuff I get it, but I still think Stanley, the ceilings higher. I think the reason people were hesitant on them was kind of bull crap. Oh, we didn't do the combine. A lot of got Jacoby dean didn't do the combine. A lot of guys didn't do the combine. None of the top tackles did the combine. We're still high on them. He has some injury history. I get that. The upside is so, so, so elite, like, so elite, like I would trade up to ten. Now the jets aren't going to give them to you. And I don't think he gets it, and he shouldn't get to that..

"Surprised by his role. I would say in Rutgers offense. A lot of verticals. This is a guy that you can see the four three speed, but it's all on vertical routes up the field. Post double moves, things even on the outside. Not necessarily even playing out of the slot. I expect his role to change pretty significantly. I would think depending on the offense he goes to, obviously. But there weren't a ton of exposures or reps of him running quick Twitch, little underneath routes, right? And he's not running the option series. And Rutgers is offense. I'm not saying he can't do it. It just wasn't a whole lot of evidence of him doing it in college. Right. So this might be more of a vertical type receiver than what people expect when they hear his athletic profile. Yeah, he did a little more of it at the senior bowl. I don't know how much of that you went back and looked at now that you're taking a closer look at him. But we talked about it yesterday. You know, Mac has had in Alabama, a ton of success with that vertical slot receiver. The other interesting thing to me about melting, and this is one of the things that really set him apart yesterday. Even beyond the testing, you know, where most of these projected slot receivers lost some height. Like, for instance, Wanda Robinson went from 5 ten to 5 8, I think Skye Moore lost an inch. So you look at these guys that are listed 5, ten, 5, 11, 6 foot, and you think, all right, well, realistically, they're 5 8 5 9. They're going to be slot receivers. Boat meld was listed 5 11, so we go into this process thinking he's probably about 5 9. He's still 5 11. The official measurement is 5 11. He's not big, but that's not exactly tiny either. Against slot corner, sending them up the field. He's going to have a size advantage. So between what he did last night and then your evaluation of the tape, we had that really interesting conversation yesterday about to maybe change the slot rule to a more vertical slot yearwood Mac Jones had at Alabama. Boat Melton to me is a really intriguing candidate for role like that..

"And he puts his foot in the ground, the way he can change direction and come out of that cut, not lose any speed, not lose any momentum and so fluid. The way he explodes out of those cuts, even the minor cuts, that to me is what excites me, because that's where the Devo comp comes from. And that's where, again, when you want to throw in the high point would be tyreek hill, but if you also want to throw in a guy like Isaiah McKenzie, right? When he puts his foot in the ground, the defender is going to miss more often than not, because he's just so explosive coming out of that. Most people aren't strong enough in their lower body to be able to react in time. So that's what's so exciting about Wanda Robinson and it shows, like you mentioned in those splits. Okay, so another explosive athlete that really helped his stock last night is Christian Watson from North Dakota state. Basically test it as the best athlete out of this wide receiver group at the combine. If his official is unofficial 40 time had held, he was going to be an all time great tester at the combine is official time was four three three. It went a little bit back down to earth, but still four three three at 6 four, 208 pounds is really freaking moving, right? I mean, that's impressive. And you also look at the jumps, you look at the agility drills, he just absolutely killed the entire workout last night at the combine. We knew he was a really good athlete. He has some, I would say, usage limitations just in terms of how North Dakota state put him in their offense, right? It wasn't a whole lot of variety there. You're running verticals. You're running jet sweeps and arounds, different types of scheme touches, but you're not doing a whole lot from a route route tree repertoire standpoint. But again, this is an explosive athlete..

"Well, let's talk about these wide receivers, Alex, a big night last night, kind of a weird night, right? Originally, it felt like this was a historically fast wide receiver group. It turns out that the stock market was. It was pretty fast, yeah. The stopwatch on NFL network was way off on a lot of these guys and whoever had the control of the stopwatch there, I don't know if he's still working that NFL network on Friday, but a big, big swings on the official numbers for guys at the top, especially a guy like Chris olave, who dropped what how do you say, over a tenth of a second, right? I mean, a big, big drop. Four, two, 6 to four, three 9. Yeah. Yeah, it's an easier way to say that. And obviously, take on Thornton didn't actually break the record by John Ross. It wasn't even close. It turns out almost a tenth of a second or half a tenth of a second off on that one as well. So not exactly the record breaking night, but still a very, very fast night. We're gonna do stock up stock down. Let's start with the positives. I like being positive. So let's start with the stock ups. The first name I have on this list is your boy, Wanda Robinson, throwing down a four four four 40 R dash, a lot of fours there. But also I mentioned to you off the air. His splits were really good too. His ten yard split, 1.55 seconds. That's in the 80s, 30, fourth percentile somewhere around there. And he showed the burst. He showed that he's gone a little bit along speed to him. And now at this point, short thing for a top 75 pick, I think, maybe even conversation in the top 50. Yeah. Yeah, I tried to tell you. I tried to tell you, I know he's smaller than maybe you want a guy who plays the game, he plays. I know he's smaller than maybe you want a guy to be who plays the game the way he plays it..

"Who knows? Now you're talking about them drafting two running backs. I'm talking about Lazar. Evan Lazar marked the date and time. Evan Lazar campaigning for the Patriots to double dip at running back in the NFL Draft. No, but it just kills me in this draft in particular. I know they're going to trade down. I know they're going to get more picks. But when you only have 6 picks to take another running back with a high priority pick, they take a running back in the 6th round, that's fine. But don't use one of your first four picks on a running neck. Let me ask you this. Let me ask you this. And you just admitted the pass catching back is very important role. It's important, role. Absolutely. Is it one of their 6 biggest needs? It might be 6. Wide receiver tackle, every position on defense. Wide receiver tackle corner linebacker. Those are the big four. We all agree with that. I think linebacker, I think that defensive line is kind of running back. I think they need another impact player on the D line ideally. So it might be sex still. It might be 6. I would go free safety, then running back then defensive line. Yeah. It does feel like the position that they might on just as many guys coming back under contract. Even if you're not super high on Dietrich wise or Devon gotcha, all those guys are coming back. So they've also got remember Byron cowardin play last year. And he was coming back. Right. I'm like a sneaky fan is. Pass catching running back. So there's an argument for it being top 6 with 6 picks. So the other thing that we have to hide Alex this is that you can get behind right here. Yeah, the other day. No, but seriously. I don't hate it. Especially he was a running back. Most of his career. Yeah, especially the way that he measured in today, right? I think that there is a chance that teams might not view him as a true wide receiver, right? He might be somebody that's going to have to do some things out of the backfield. So it's going to have to hand in time Montgomery. Right. Yes, exactly. Yeah. No, if they draft Wanda Robinson, yeah, turn them into that third down back and then line them up in the slot on occasion. That would be great pick. That would be, I mean, if they do that, Matt grow wins executive and eaten out. If they do that though, that would be it's a little more forward thinking than they've been in the draft in recent years, but I think that would be a great move. It's a tough one. It's a tough balancing app because they do have immediate needs right now that they need to fill, right? And they do have a desperate need specifically, I would say at linebacker, but also at receiver just for high end talented that spot. But what jawan Bentley and Dante Hightower is free agents. They might just need bodies at linebacker. It might just be that simple that they need starting caliber bodies at that spot. You also look what might end up happening. At cornerback with JC Jackson, those are things that are probably higher priorities than, let's say, left tackle or running back, but the Patriots are one of those teams that typically looks at what are our needs going to be in 2023, 2024, right?.

"Pre gaming, the workouts that are going to begin here in less than one hour. We also got a lot of measurables today for the wide receiver class in particular. That's our main focus is going to be during the show. Obviously for the Patriots and their needs in this draft, not really a quarterback draft for the Patriots, certainly not a tight end draft for New England either. So it's going to be a big emphasis on wide receivers. All weekend long for the Patriots, but especially tonight, when we get to see some people run, I want to start here with the measurables that came out and we were talking about this before we hit record or hit live here. And that is how small some of these wide receivers are in this class. Really at the top of the class in particular is what I'm talking about outside of Drake London and treylon Burks. This is a pretty marginal class in terms of height, weight, that sort of thing, a bunch of guys coming in under one 90 that are gonna be interesting to the Patriots, Chris a lobby, Garrett Wilson, Jahan dots, and under one 80. Jameson Williams, although he's recovering from that ACL surgery. So maybe he dropped a few pounds because he's not lifting right now coming in at one 79. John metchie, one 87. So all these guys under one 90, that tells me although we're not gonna see the Bama guys here tonight, the 40 yard dash times for all these guys that are under a buck 90 in terms of weight are gonna be critical. And you can throw a Wanda Robinson in there as well from Kentucky who is 5 8 one 75, one 81 78, one 78, right? All of the suspects are.

"How you're weary about Juan Dale because there's not really a role for him in the current offense as it exists and you're not confident with the fact that they'll be able to create that role for him. That's basically how I feel about Burke's. Even if he has an electric athlete, I just see them having him go out there and running curls 20 times a game because that's what they did with Nikhil Harry, right? Or verticals where he's trying to win on contestant catches all the time or something like that. So give me the guy who I know can fit in seamlessly can take over role that already exists in mastery instead of a guy that they've got a carve out a new role for. I'm on the same page as you. I like to play devil's advocate because I love Trey Lambert as a prostitute. When I evaluated the draft of Nikhil Harry in 2019, I had Harry and AJ Brown closer than I should have. I thought that they profiled pretty similar. I thought they both had the same strengths and weaknesses. What I slept on was that AJ Brown was a much better athlete than Nikhil Harry, right? Because Nikhil Harry looked like a good athlete, but he wasn't actually his translatable as an athlete and explosiveness in the open field as AJ Brown. AJ Brown ran a much better 40 time. I'm just expecting cherry long birds to run an even better 40 time than AJ Brown did. So that's to me where I'm at coming out with that, but I'm with you that I would prefer a lava and jamison over a Trey lamberg for the reasons that you laid out. The fact that we have seen that player, the treylon Burke's player, fail multiple times here in New England with them trying to go after that kind of guy, right? And they haven't been able to figure it out. And I would also mention that early on in treylon Burke's career, he's going to have to have some scheme touch elements to his game, right? Jet sweeps screens, just finding ways to manufacture touches. And I'm not sure what their current offensive coaching staff that I'm going to fully trust Joe judge and Matt Patricia to be able to scheme touches for treylon Burks. It's the same. Like you said, it's the same thing as Wanda Robinson, just a little bit earlier in the draft. But we remember we said that about Nikhil Harry too, how long were we waiting for them to run all these tunnels screens with the cute hairy and the pop pass. It even John who Smith now, like, I just think we're going to be sitting here in 6 months or whatever it is talking about, well, why aren't they getting in the ball? Why aren't they figuring out ways to get them the ball or is Chris olave and their offense is going to be a magnet for the football? Yeah, that's definitely fair. "He is a vertical route runner. He's not, this is not Julian Edelman, this is not Wes Welker, right? This is somebody that gets up the field. He can get up the field in a hurry. He's got really good initial burst off the line of scrimmage to threaten defensive backs, but he's also very, very clean at the top of the route and probably the best route break receiver in this entire draft is in terms of the limited wasted movement at the top of the route, right? A lot of these other guys takes you couple steps to gather, break, plant, you know, do that sort of thing. A lot of it is in and out, right? I mean, he's really quick in and out of the break. We got to talk about trailing Burks though, because this guy, to me, is not Nikhil Harry, but I understand why a lot of fans that watch treylon Burks is highlights that go through some of his film or even read up on treylon Burke's, are going to say, this is exactly like Nikhil Harry. They'll concern that I have with that line of thinking is one. Birx is going to run in probably the fourth reasons, right? So he's quite a bit faster than Nikhil Harry was. Nikhil Harry is a mid four 5s guy. This is a four threes guy at two 25. He's a difference maker with the ball on his hands. The other thing I would mention is if you're so weary of not making the same mistake twice on Nikhil Harry, then that's how you missed on AJ Brown, right? Because Nikhil Harry and AJ Brown coming out, there wasn't a ton of difference in their profiles. The difference was that AJ Brown was a more explosive athlete. And that's how we ended up here. So I would just be aware of the fact that you could run into a position where all of a sudden you miss out on the next AJ Brown, or you miss out on the next debo Samuel because you're so concerned about not drafting the next Harry, if that makes sense. But see, I think something you said there kind of proves my point in that how similar Harry and Brown were coming out of the draft. It's that nature versus nurture thing. Like, this is a big thing in psychology. How do you study our change effects? People, you know, they try to find twins who grew up in separate environments to see okay. Well, you know, how is this going to work? It's almost like that, right? You kind of took the same player the same raw skill set and you put them into environments and what happened. You got to kill Harry, you got AJ Brown. It's not about when you say, you know, when we say, oh, and we're in treylon Burks would end up like tequila Harry. That doesn't really have to a lot to do with treylon Burks. It's more so we saw a player of this prototype in New England very recently, how did it turn out? I think if Burke's lands in the right spot, he'll be a fantastic NFL player. I really do. I like him as a player. I just don't think that spot is New England. I would rather see them and they may not have this choice. I highly doubt both of these guys are on the board of 21. I really don't think either it's going to be on the board of 21. But just for argument's sake, if they had to choose between the two, I would rather see them go with a guy like a lava because he's going to fit in more seamlessly. And we talked about this on the last show of it in terms of Wanda Robinson, right?.

"Treylon Burke's. Trail on Burke should be a guy that we're talking about as a first round pick at number 21 for the Patriots. But all of us are terrified of them drafting a guy like treylon Burke's and having him turn into kill Harry two. So it is what it is. Speaking about these coaching along these coaching lines, I should say, well, so I'm just curious the thing with him and James White. That's not like you would buy that. You don't think that's totally out of the box? No. I'm not saying it's totally out of the box. I buy it more than them trying to figure out some sort of role of him as a Z or something like that and crafting a new role for him there. It's the best argument you've made so far of how they could use Wanda Robinson effectively. Yes. There's also a really good question back there. And it's Dexter Johnson. It's 1628. I don't know if you can find that one. Yeah, I saw that one. I want to get to this coaching one real quick just because you're talking about coaching. So Albert breer, your guys Scott zoo lax and a bunch of people have already bike Reese have put out their projected lineup for the Patriots coaching staff. One of the biggest ones out there right now is that Joe judge is gonna coach quarterbacks, which I totally understand for so many reasons is DEFCON 5. I did this the other show too and I did it backwards. For the Patriots, right? That Joe judge is going to be the quarterbacks coach. I don't think Joe judge is going to be alone at coaching the quarterback. The guy that I really think that's going to ultimately have a lot of the responsibility on the direction of Matt Jones is going to be Bill himself. But I understand that Bill can't be everywhere all the time, right? So if you just needed someplace else or if he is focusing on something else one day, they're going to have to leave the responsibility up to somebody when bill's coaching defense or bills coaching the secondary or bills over there over here or whatever. But I do feel like Belichick is going to have a massive, massive hand, as he always had with quarterbacks. This is nothing new. He's coach Tom Brady. We will go watch man in the arena and listen to how much.

"That sort of gadget player. You can line up all over the formation that devil's Samuel type, I think Wanda Robinson really fits the need of that explosive bulk area. And they'd have to cut coach them up a little bit on the finer points of being a receiver again. He did just switch to receiver two years ago. So he's new to this. And I know we have our, you know, we're worried about certain areas of the coaching staff, but I think him working with Troy Brown, that would be a great fit. Basically the parts of the game, I think Robinson is missing the parts of his game. I think he needs to, not missing, but needs to really round out are what Troy Brown was so great at as a player. So I see that as a mix. So I think either one is a great addition, I don't know that either one on their own is the difference maker, you want to pair this guy with an X, whether it's a first round pick, you know, one of the true X's I guess not your haunts and their system, but or probably more likely a free agent or a veteran acquisition, like the Mike Williams or maybe a Calvin Ridley, but I think either one of these guys can give the offense a dynamic they really need. Yeah, so this is a conversation of an explosive, more explosive ball carrier and Wanda Robinson versus the route runner in sky more, right? They both win, they both win in similar fashion, but they do in different ways. Similar areas of the field, right? Where they are targets were and where their touches were. It would be very, there would be a lot of overlap, but they do it in different ways, exactly. Sky Moore has some of the best feet that I've seen of any wide receiver prospect in this draft. He can get off press coverage really sudden quick movements at the line of scrimmage to get off press separates well at the top of the route. And although he is not game breaking like wandel is in the with the ball in his hands, I like how he slithers with the ball, right? I think he has that kind of Julian Edelman like duck and weave in and out of contact. Maybe not somebody that's going to run away from the whole defense when he gets in the open field. But certainly sets up blocks well down the field kind of navigates and alludes tacklers and wiggles in and out of contact. I like those elements of his game, but it's his route running that really stands out. The concern that I have with one day is the same as I have in the first round version of this is treylon Burke's, right?.

Darren canard is going to be there. So I was going to get to that in a second. The other small school guys, though, Chris Paul is a four position offensive alignment. Not the best of the one. Yeah, no four position offensive lineman from Tulsa like him. I don't think they're taking a tight end. But Isaiah likely is a super fun player and he's from Cambridge. So I'm rooting for him. He's fun. And then yeah, the last point I would make on this, we're ultimately didn't do that much. They were pretty good. I think I'm like 5 years. We're gonna look back on this Kentucky team and wonder how they didn't win a national championship. They're so much freaking talent there from Wanda Robinson who won't be at the senior bowl to Darien cunard who will be Josh Pascal, who's an edge rusher who will be, I want to see him take somebody from. And that's just like the tip of the iceberg. Yeah, I would love to see him watch all the Kentucky guys. And that's a great point in the chat. Imagine if they draft Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant in the same goats. The only one of them is a guard. Darren cunard's interesting to me because yeah, now that he's gonna be at the senior bowl, I don't think any of the guys could be wrong about that. It was Justin harana senior bowl guy. I think there was one offensive lineman in the last couple of years out with the senior bull guy. But regardless of that, as much as you want to see some of the last year positions down the senior bowl, it makes it really easy to evaluate some of these alignment and real engagements in real contact with Patton. And Darien canard, if he's somebody that pops for the Patriots over the week next week. 21 might be a tiny bit high based off of some of the consensus that I've seen, but he fits more of the heat checks more of the boxes and let's say like an Isaiah win, right? Okay, well then I have to sign up to an offer sheet. That's a whole another problem. They might be able to sign them to the offer street though because New Orleans doesn't have the cash to back it up, right? So they might be able to do what Chris Hogan there. Okay, here's a question for you. They left out your guy wandel Robinson. Offensive. Yeah. Flat out offensive, but I love this question because I think this is going to be a conversation when the Patriots run through their mock draft simulators that Bill Belichick's talked about in the past. I'm not saying they're using PFF's mock draft machine because it still doesn't have kickers. Right. But they do run their own simulations. These are the types of conversations I believe that they have truly in the draft room, right? If we have the number one defensive player on our board in the first round and we take that guy, but we know we need to receiver, which one of this cluster of receivers do we like the best? So whether it's David bell pickens matchy or let's throw a wandel in there too. Those four guys, I believe, would be in a cluster on the Patriots board, where they would be happy with any one of those four wide receivers. But which one do you want them to pick the most and why? So I'm out on matchi. I'm out on Mitch and it's not nothing, you know, you guys know me at this point. I'm in Alabama fan. I'd love to see Mac to matchy or Mac to Jameson Williams. I just don't think you can wait a year. I don't think you can wait a year for your big wide receiver acquisition to make a difference. So if they didn't have the torn ACL, if they didn't have the tornadoes, they'd be one and two on my board for the patrons. It really would. But yeah, they can't be with this high of a pick. You know, if you're talking about you, maybe you're getting into the 90s, right? The third round fourth round of that fight. So we'll take him out. The thing for me with Wanda, Robinson, as much as I like him, and he is my draft cross, crush on the audio. Well, here's the thing. I texted this to you. So you know this is true. Yeah. And he's crushing the offense out of all its quay walker on the defensive side of the ball, and then Matt raised on special teams, but I think that one day they still need the downfield guy. And maybe that's as simple as changing Nelson ago or his role, but if they don't go out and get like Calvin Ridley, I still think David beller George pickens is a better pick than Wanda Robinson. Right. Can I lay out my master plan for you? I did this on the show with murr earlier today, because it involves this question. Sure. So I know in the chat, I know on Twitter, I know everybody under the sun wants the Patriots to draft John mechie, right? Everybody does. Now my question is because I don't hate it. If John Matthews ACL kicks him out of the for dad into the second round, right? Because if the Patriots get good info from Nick Saban, that matches knee's gonna be fine. And that he's just, you know, gonna go through the normal ACL recovery and he's gonna be back on the field. Maybe not even next year, but maybe it ends up being in 2023. I don't hate it all with their situation with how many veterans they already have on the roster. I don't mind at all them red shirting John mechie and then getting a first round talent in 2023 that they got in the second or third round in 2022. Kind of like a camera girl in situation. So I was going to say, I think the interesting thing about it is, would the Patriots do something like this? Let's look at the historical context. Yeah. Yes, they very much would. And I think what helps them is this is a really, really, really good receiver class, another one. Shocker, right? Garrett Wilson, I mean, Garrett Wilson, if the Patriots could have any player in the back, they're not going to have a chance to draft them. But if they can have any player in their draft, might be care of Wilson. A law of a tray wand for straight line to Jameson Williams Jahan dots and George pickens. Wanda Robinson. I mean, I'm reading off the list. I don't want to miss anybody. The point is, there is a teams aren't just going to pass on John Maggie. He's incredibly talented. But I think that there's enough talent in this class that the third round is the sweet spot. I don't think Bill uses a top 60 pick, especially when corner and tackle are both immediate needs. I don't think Bill use a top 60 pick on a player who's not going to play. But if John mech is there in the third round, you know, especially if they can move up and maybe grab a comp pick from somebody in the third round, like you're in the sweet spot there. So if you want John met you to the Patriots, I don't think it's unrealistic, but the zay flowers of the world..
