Caller: Leftie Lessons in Disney's 'Zootopia'

"I don't know if you ever saw the movie Zootopia by Disney there's a part in there whereas the assistant mayor takes over and there's a part of the end where mayor weather goes they say well how can you control everybody And she goes if I make them afraid I can control them and make them do anything I want And it was in a kids movie and I'm thinking to myself are you kidding me They just put that out there and it kids movie And I was shocked because I was thinking why would they ever tell their way of controlling people Two kids but again they're thinking oh hey maybe in the thing is is that when you really think about it as kids it seems basically watered down because it's like oh this is a little lamb She's just saying hey I can control because she's afraid And I'm thinking about that Oh my gosh this is just the way that you look at Disney now Disney is a disgrace Walt Disney wouldn't even recognize his own creation his own company Nothing is safe anymore from these various movements Certainly not our kids They have finally finally figured it's time to conquer the children They're in the classroom They're in the cartoons They're in the movies They're everywhere And there's no there's no question about it I

Mike Gallagher Reports Live From Neuschwanstein Castle

"Carl. And welcome back to Germany. This is the very, very famous Neuschwanstein Castle. This is the inspiration for Walt Disney for Cinderella, both the movie and the theme parks, fascinating story about this castle. This was crazy king king Ludwig, who built this castle because he wanted a beautiful masterpiece. A lot of cutting edge technology, indoor heating, running water, things that were unheard of at the time, flushing toilets, even a ringing phone. These are things that were well advanced, and that was king Ludwig's innovations. But this is the castle here in Germany, famous for the Cinderella castle. Have you ever been to Disney World or seen the movie Cinderella? And we're getting this beautiful tour of the Bavarian Alps. Right at the foot of the Bavarian Alps, the weather is perfect, having a beautiful

Ron DeSantis Proposes Dissolving Special Tax Status for Disney World

"So Ron DeSantis, as if he doesn't have enough on his plate, is now announced that the state legislature will consider a proposal to eliminate Disney's special tax and governing jurisdiction in desantis fight against the mega corporation's woke politics, quote I'm announcing today that we are expanding the call of what they are going to be considering this week. And so yes, they will be considering termination of all special districts that were enacted in Florida prior to 1968. And that includes the reedy creek improvement district. Now the reedy creek improvement district is one of Disney's special carve outs. It's a special governing and special taxing district for the Walt Disney World resort. In 1967, the Florida legislature approved it to boost economic development and tourism within the district's boundaries. This includes 25,000 acres. Eliminating the special district would be served as a significant economic blow to the Disney corporation. So they should absolutely do it. If you are going to be financing supporting the grooming of children, then use a corporation should not receive special handouts from the state of Florida. If you're going to be against family values and you're going to make Florida a place where you want to push for this LGBTQ garbage, we're going to raise your taxes or at the very least, we're not going to give you special cargo. So you never should have gotten in the first place. This is the latest flight breitbart dot com writes after Disney announced its opposition to the parental rights and education bill that he signed into law. This is the proclamation. On this first day of the redistricting special session, the governor added this. Should lawmakers and special independent special districts established in 1968, he announced it at the villages that has similar self governing districts, though post 1968. Republicans have considered other measures to fight back against Disney's alphabet mafia agenda, including ending Disney $600 million tax cheat loophole. Jim banks from Indiana, who is the Republican study committee chairman, has floated to do revolver news idea, which is to end congressional loopholes for the Mickey Mouse

Executives Have Hijacked Disney, Likely Against Mr. Walt's Wishes

"Meanwhile back at Disney let me just say this about Disney The corporatists that run Disney now and these employees were demanding that Disney been to its will They have taken an institution and American institution iconic institution and they've hijacked it That's what they've done in our elementary and secondary schools That's what they've done with our media And this is what was promoted This indoctrination and the techniques About a 110 years ago with the early marxists progressives as they called themselves They need to insinuate themselves and secrete themselves into all aspects of the culture And they demand uniformity and conformity That's what they do So they take something that Walt Disney created who was a conservative who was a family man who believed in tradition A man of faith and they took what this man created and all the people around him created And by the way he almost went broke He mortgaged his home to start it all and everything else And they're destroying it Like they destroy everything else on the left They're destroying it

I love this guy. Fight back. This is the way you fight back. Desantis said this during a press conference in West Palm Beach, Florida today. New York Post: Disney Slams Florida for Signing ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Law

"New York Post Disney slams Florida for signing don't say gay bill into law It's not a don't say gay Bill It's like the word insurrection The Walt Disney Company has come out against Florida's don't say gay Bill So the media now using this phraseology After it was signed in a law yesterday by the state's Republican governor Ron DeSantis The company has been beset with controversy from within as its left leaning workers staged a walkout To protest management's initial reluctance to denounce the measure while its conservative employees urged higher ups to stay neutral on hot button political issues Florida's HB 1557 also known as the don't say gay Bill why is it known as the don't say gay Bill Because the Democrats in Florida trying to defeat desantis came up with that marketing scheme And the people on the left the Democrats the LGBTQI community and all their so called nonprofit organizations They all got behind it Because that's what they do

"The place that i go to the most colorado's the kids say word to your mother. Right isn't that isn't that. No don't you dare talk about my mother got that listen. You don't remember the joy that was vanilla ice anyway. He does some home makeovers. Now i will tell you seem hormonal the thing that i have been so incredibly impressed with and i made sure i didn't watch any videos or even trying look at any pictures. All four parks now have as their version of maybe you know their kissed nights and sort of the way to say good night to guess our beacons of light and the new magic is calling anthem more poorly spaceship earth beacons of light show at the end of the night is absolutely breathtaking gorgeous. I could out there and watch that over and over again. I i think it's gorgeous I think you said beacons of light. It's the beacons of match. Because i am sure that you got that from me because i was saying beacons of light for the longest time. No i you. And i saw at the same time. The spaceship earth. Just we've seen projections. We saw micro ski. We saw death star random things and it was great as projections. But i feel with the new lights on there. That just became one of the biggest tapestries. That walt disney world has an the point where they turn it into the the globe from eliminations reflections of earth. And it looks just like the bad. Led's from the nineties panning arms are early. Two thousands panting around and doing the world. It was just i. i was breath. My breath was gone. I i can't even speak about it anymore. It was definitely something i when i moved out. Here i was oh go see womb nations every night or the fireworks. That is something that i would stick around epcot for the night and it's not even like a show. It's just a minute of that. And then what they can do with the technology and there was something about it and it's funny. I did have an emotional reaction. Because i think it was being in that plaza. The prison being there again. The lights the flags the monorail with that. Cool sort of underlining on as it comes byles like as as new as this is something nostalgic about it and it just it hit me it did it hit me in all the right field and i think that that i think species birth is absolutely gorgeous. But there's that spontaneity factor again to. It's not just once a night. It's like what fifteen twenty minutes something like that. But you don't necessarily know when that little presentation is going to happen. You just hear the rumble years. Something happening you turn and look towards it and much like what. All these were built for weenies to wean us into the parks to wenas at certain areas we gravitate towards it and then we get the all look and share and be quiet and appreciate for about a minute this cool little presentation that transform. Something that we've looked at so many times all four of those those beacons we've seen so many times at so many different times of day over the years but now they're all completely new and it's incredible and what i love about spatial birth is that you can see it from everywhere you can see it from everywhere in that park you can see from outside the park think about all the different resorts knowing that. You're able to look at a chance to take a look at the new reserve over the swan a dolphin which has three hundred sixty degree practically views on the top and single and you can see space of earth in the distance. And i could imagine just how gorgeous that's going to be seeing the fireworks but seeing that weenie so well off in the distance every rooftop restaurant or bar is going to be the place to be when those go off and i had the magic on my list as well because it was so unexpected I think i remember hearing something about something going on with the four pieces but it didn't really resonate to me how it was being explained but then seeing that for the first time at epcot and how happy it made me in how joyous it was to see it turn into it turned into I got see that one. I got to see the castle magic kingdom. But now i wanna see the two. Because i didn't get a chance in unfortunately before i get a chance to that that's going to be one of the first things i wanna do when i come back. Yeah it's a it's a reason to not. Just stay in the parks that night but to go and visit of anything in the present that you guys want to touch on there to to quickly the expansion of france. I really think that's a beautiful space. I think it's really nice to walk back there. The the right side of just being able to go back in that little corner always loved france for its design and the fountains to add this additional space back there and then the crabs are amazing. I sat there. And i had my little crap and i. It made me feel like i did. When i was actually embarrassed that it's authentic it's really good Good food but the one. I wanna bring up because i want to hear what everybody thinks about it so i have some thoughts besides the bishop to twenty. I didn't get to go to twenty Begins flight having enchantment. I want to talk about in chapman. Because it's interesting is i. I saw it twice and a stream of it. And the first time i saw it it did hit me emotionally in a couple of places. It was because of the marriage of the music. The pyro and the projections. So you brought them all together and i felt it Being able to see the projections we saw it from the rooftop at contemporary the other night and it didn't have that same hit to me of emotion as it did. Because you don't see the projections you just see the pilot the music so i really believe that. You can't judge enchantment based on anything that is streaming again much like harmonious and not even just watching it from the lagoon or watching it from the beach at poly you. You really do need to be standing there in the hub or a little bit farther back on main streets you get the whole projection feel and you get to see what's on the castle and you get to see the the pyro and you have the music blaring at you. I think that particular show in general is meant to be seen in person with all of that around you. Three sixty to really have the impact that they're trying to give you. Yeah i agree. Placements just like disneyland. Do you know where you watch. The mixed magic show is important. And i think the sweet spot is just a little bit north of center street on main street. You're saying because. I i still have not seen the projections as well anything else. Present time just the enchantment. I i've only seen it. The ones To me it. It is what the fireworks should be. I mean sadly like connor mentioned earlier about eliminations reflections for being there for twenty years it that is in our head nothing will ever top. It wishes by far one of the most beautiful fireworks. We all love it. The music jimmy cricket part But happily ever after when that started like connor mention. Everybody is up in arms. And i saw it and i was like okay. It's a fun show three years later when it went away i was sad because it does have that emotional touch especially when tinkerbell flies this one. I saw the first night i was there live. I was mostly sitting behind my camera. Filming it so to me. It's it's a normal fire. Disney fireworks show. It is set to bring the fields of the kids that have seen all of the current disney movies again. It's not about us old people. We aren't the ones that are spending the money on everything. Sorry connor to jump punitive. It's about starting the new memories for the kids and throwing in riot throwing.

"What it did but all of those. You know year long celebrations. Obviously we have a pretty big one right now. But i kinda missed. The ones that were weren't so much marketing weren't so much. come here. Were more you know about the year of a million dreams sort of things you know helping people out making memories things like that. I thought all of those for a good long. While we're we're really really really not only popular but but great ideas on my list. Good and i. I have a love hate relationship with it because i never nothing not. Give me a pin. Can you let did i went to the level. Oh look there's lumine jello run. Run is just going to talk about as podcast. Then we're gonna get ambushed by these people about. That was the surprise and delight. And i know the reason why you may not like it but i loved the ability to just make. Somebody's day and it didn't have to be something big. It could be something small pin fast. Pass anything. i think that that was one of the most brilliant campaigns that they've ever done that embodied so many different guests and gave benefits to so many different guests in were still walking around with those memories and talking about it today more importantly it empowered the cast members to do what cast members do which is make people happy and yes. They had things that you know at four zero seven. Pm row to seat. Three of kilimanjaro safari. But there were also when. I'm still friends with some of the members of the dream squad. Throw me a pin man. It's been fourteen years right but but they're able to go up and make magic for people. And that i think is is the perfect cast member role. But let's we clean move from the past into that. I just like to say. I miss ditches great escape. I'm kidding attraction. Suck tom kidding. I'm kidding. I everyone Yeah i i miss haiti. That's what i. That's what i miss you. Misuse it great escape. You meant supersonic celebration. Both of them I will say a relatively new one that we just recently lost which i loved so much the disney must use featuring stacey It's transitioned i will say on. I m b. as a nine point three out of ten and it's not because i've created twenty four separate accounts logged in but those are two. I think when you walk in to your hotel room very much always the beginning of the trip you turn on the tv. That's the first thing you would see. And i think It was very special for a lot of people for for many many many years and had a couple of durations. But i mean it ran its course but it was definitely something i always look forward to everybody's friend she was if you're talking about things that you don't miss from the past extraterrestrial is my all the back of your head. It's it spits on you. This thing is are. We learned about the alien the alien that i stand that i can tell you that there. There are very few things that my first visit that. I was dying for dying to get on american adventure just because that is one of the most iconic attractions for epcot the twilight zone tariff terror. They just moved it into the fear. Every drop version five point. Oh or something and the george. Lucas presents the extraterrestrial alien counter. As i am i won't i won't fight that but it was such. It was the the attraction that you never thought you would see and in in the magic kingdom and sadly it you know it turned into one of the worst punch lines as connor just pointed out of stitches. Great escape but it was. I wanna say it was almost walt like where he wanted to challenge the guests with new attractions and new adventures. I i don't know won't ever would have had you know something licking the back of your neck. But it was the animatronic this sir was amazing. Skippy was by far skippy. Was one of the best. Non p plush next figment in disney history. And now he's gone by way of the dodo but alien counter was by far one of my favorite attractions. And i'd love watching everybody just walking out of there screaming screaming. That was my mom by the way. Just say i remember. I literally remember the day we got off. My dad and i were like dots awesome. My mother's like. I wanna talk to a manager. I'm kidding she didn't say that. But we talked about this. Because it was such a non walt disney world like attraction and the fact that they were pushing the envelope. Because and you can credit this to michael eisner who after the attraction soft opening. Shut this down. Make it scarier because he realized that he was losing the thirteen to twenty four year old. You know teenage boy. Who wanted something exciting to get. Your blood pumping was for everybody. Absolutely not not everything is necessarily supposed to be but i sort of love the fact that they push the envelope especially in a place like magic kingdom so but let's move from the past into the present and i really wanna hear about five ish things that were really enjoying most right now including end. Or what's new right. We just you know as we're celebrating. We're beginning to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of walt disney. World there have been in the introduction of probably more than the average guest might realize. There's a lot. Actually that was introduced. Even though we didn't get everything that we were supposed to because of the pandemic. But what are the things that you are loving right now. Either in terms of what brand new for the fifth anniversary just in general you know twenty twenty one to me. I'm gonna go with. The first thing that i thought of and this is probably going to be controversial. I can't wait to kind of hear everybody else's thoughts about this and lou may have to edit me. I'm not exactly sure. I adore harmonious. I absolutely love it. There is a story. I've i've watched the internet light itself on fire right afterwards. I think people made a mistake of watching the stream. Because if you're watching a stream you're getting what the director end or person that's filming it. is important to them not necessarily important to you and there is a story. This story is his random stuff. No there's a story it's it's drawn between it to unite all.

On that i had to call midway through. You guys are doing a fantastic job just so everyone knows if you have not been there visited j. there Dine there everything has becky lou. Just said about there's is spot on Is absolutely gorgeous One thing that i just wanted to call in and chime in about is i out of all the resorts lou mentioned this that we've waited so long for new resort and this one if i were to describe it in a word is so just well two stories. They're the pictures of the family traveling when they were alive there The european esque steel. That you get their my family's from europe so i've traveled in europe a lot. You don't let your in disneyworld and that is just the we all know disney does an awesome job with immersion. But that's a part of this. That i just fell in love last. I also think the location not even on this island which is amazing. But having it right out of apricot guys you ever can stay there. Enger day in france and the french france billion. Go over an end your day just like small little nooks and crannies riviera. You literally will feel like you're not on this continent I think it's cool and storytelling ish. And its own sense that the resort itself is so close to that spot in epcot at all so The care of each. Which has french vibes to. If you will so. I just think that you imagine years and disney and the job they did with location with the storytelling the rum with the art derive mention. The art is amazing. And i want every single mosaic narrow. They're in my house is just spot on. So i love these resort reports I'm so excited for more of and yeah you do you have an. Can't we finish hope. I'm knocking knees down pow by the way unless you're going to tell me well ask the question. 'cause i was going to mention something this so i love seinfeld. Seinfeld is my second all time favorite. Tv show next to lost his david. Putty interesting loving arby's the way he does. He was also the voice of he was in buzz. Light your of star command. Kim possible family guy at fear of. You're a superhero comic book. He was also the tick the live action version of the series. However patrick warburton of all the people on this list is not only found in soren. He's also found in what other attraction. Oh wait a minute. It has a similar type of role a pre show q. Oh man in. Walt disney world. All right i'll give you a hint. I'll tell you who here. I wanna to get the skinny g two four five. That sounds like a a star wars. Yes it is a star wars reference. Wow tell me more though. So didn't star tours. The adventure continues. Yeah in the pre show load area. He is the voice of the the sort of the the robot in that sort of directing people where to go and traffic and the a pre show security scanning and all that and wait a minutes. Patent warburton is in not one not two three of the four parks in walt disneyworld. Oh no oh yeah you wanna know why. Because he is the voice of cronk from emperor's new groove. "And a explain why. He's on my list. But i wanted to talk about gene shepherd interesting smiling. The silence on list. Is it really goodness. Oh good all right. Maybe it's not quite out there. As i think it is so now of all the people i have on my list. He is unique. Says this is purely voiceover cameo so to speak. And if you don't know who it is. How do i say this if you don't know who it is. You might not registered that. This is someone of celebrity nece boy that came out wrong It's an it's a curious fact. 'cause obviously jean shepherd for everyone knows the narrator and the father and carousel of progress Which every time. I hear his voice. I think of christmas mostly because the carousel progress. But also because he's perhaps more famously known as the writer and the narrator of the adult ralphie in a christmas story. So that's always a fun fact to share with people who don't know all the interconnectedness of who who jean shepherd is and why we always feel so christmasy progress the last seen now standing but no much you know that connection and you hear it. It's kind of neat because whether you go on the carousel of progress while the gun. The carousel of progress. I can't help. But think of christmas and a christmas story when i watch a christmas story. I can't. i can't help but thinking of being in the magic kingdom and being in the carousel of progress and listening to him talk to us about how much walt disney love progress. Oh and i thought this should be caveat in the top ten that we have to do an imitation of everyone we put on our list. Stow so and. I can't wait for your cameo of jerry lewis which i know you have on your list. Spaceship earth but tom but anyway. That's that's my data guy. I really wanted to bring that up. Because it is christmas time and that mood. I'm getting ready to get settled in from my twenty four hour. Marathon of christmas story but I it's a it's a wonderful movie. It's a wonderful attraction and just that the two are connected is such. it's a really cool fact. When you discover it. It's fun to share. But i will never forget that voice. That will always be very special to me. So if you things so jean. Shepard was on my list but only attached to someone else and she he began actually took over the role from andrew duggan. Who was the original voice of the father. So jean shepherd took over. During the refurbishment in ninety four christmas story came out about a decade earlier so clearly like that very much. Put him on the map. And oh by the way quick aside in terms of where a christmas story rank in terms of all time. Greatest christmas movies. I.

"Part of what. I and i think we love about walt disneyworld and the disney parks. Is that when we pass through its portals. Maybe even as we. I drive onto property. We leave the real world behind us but every now and then it slips its way in not in a bad way but in a good familiar and off from humorous and wonderful way and it makes its way in through the stories that are told here. Of course no story could be told without the characters that populate them and it's within those characters that we find some familiar names faces and voices and there are undoubtedly and actually likely way more than you think actually more celebrity cameos in both current and extinct tractions than you probably can remember so this week. We're gonna look at some of our favorites most memorable obscure and maybe even a few odd ones as we share our top ten celebrity cameos in walt disney world and making a not so rare. Cameo himself is a man who goes by. Many names is an enigma wrapped in a mystery cuddled. Within a conundrum he is of course mr tim foster of both celebrations magazine and guide to the magic dot com. If i'm remembered for nothing else than cuddling in the conundrum the cuddling can whatever you said that. Warrant my heart. That's what i was hoping you very much. it's true you are a man of many mysteries. But i am so glad to have you back but to continue to call you friend after all low these many years and we were just saying before we start recording. I think we've sort of dabbled into this realm but we've never actually done a complete show about celebrities at walt disney world. And i think this is really. I think cameos by celebrities at the disney park specifically disneyworld is really interesting. Because it's not necessarily the reason why you would go to see an attractor show like the same way as liberty might attracted to a movie or a tv show. But it's more like a nice surprise. Exactly and i'm waiting for the rules that you're gonna put in place as this is. This is actually fun. Because i anticipated some rule. She might put in place. And i already thought out my well planned out arguments.

"Name tag when i did it. It was like an The final chapter. It was an end. No you know it was that part of my life is over right. The working for walt disneyworld is over So it was kind of a sad memory you know and in a lot of ways as well. But then as i've you know gone on and i've met people in the disney creator space and i've met other disney cast immersed through wcw opinion and and all this other fun. I don't see this framed. Name tag as an endpoint anymore. I see it as a middle point in my life. Before i worked at walt disney world. There is my life. When i worked at walt disney world. Now there's my life still has disney fan as a former cast member as someone who loves to share -isneyworld with other people. So when i look at my frame name tag like that i i see that. This is part of my history. Now it's not an end point of anything. It's just part of the story and that's why i love it of course. Yeah and that's you know it's one of those items that is is priceless to you. It's priceless like i don't imagine us selling not for any price because of just what that means to you and and everything else that you're doing sort of really sort of falls under the umbrella of that item right all these other things wouldn't have happened to you. Had it not been for you being a cast member during that time absolutely in. It's it's something that i i've funnel everything through that something. You can't take away from me. I will have always been a cast member. I will always have that knowledge in those memories of working in the park. So that's why it's it's super super important to me so the next one. I go to look if you've ever heard this show before. Have you ever watched editing. Do i a kid at heart. I am a seven year old kid trapped in a slightly older body. And i do i love. I love the toys. I love the fun things too. And i love things that are fun as well as being unique and when i look at my collection in terms of things that are unique things that you can't find anymore which adds it adds value to me because i understand the rarity of it But more importantly items that connect to maybe the attractions. That are my favorites. You mentioned the haunted mansion which is why sort of bump this up on my list and plus two because of how unique. This item is and It's called a haunted mansion secret panel chest box and it's a small. It's about six inches by four inches by three inches or so rectangle and these were originally released in disney land in probably about nineteen sixty nine There's a disneyland version. There's a haunted mansion version and the box itself. the physical item is actually rare. I have seen very very few of these. Very few these in really good condition and i'm fortunate that that mayan is is you know in in near mint condition and the idea. Is this small wooden box. has no lock and key system. It has no visible way of opening it but if you know how to it requires about twenty different steps to slide different pieces up and down and it reveals sort of different mechanisms to open it and inside of it. There is a secret compartment. And there's a secret drawer to there's a. There's a color decal on the top..

"Out you yeah, that's better and not for nothing. My little side is nothing to do with the topic at hand. But that little area is home to my brother's name on birth. The Main Street Windows. My brother is honored on one of the main street windows and I can see you perplexed on the other side of the video. Like what are you talking about? I guess I should explain please do so. My my brother's name is Robert and as it turns out one of the I think I have the story straight one of the the attorney slash businessman who helped Walt Disney acquire. The land in Florida was Robert Foster and his contributions to what we bought a Walt Disney World were so great. He is honored with the window on Main Street USA and I took a picture of and just send it to my mother and said, hey look your son's got a window. I didn't explain to her that it was just crazy wild coincidence, but and I don't really explain that to people when I show it to them either. I just because I have a connection. This is not really your brother. You just happen to show no. Yes, I should have qualified that the the Robert Foster who helped Walt Disney was not my brother who is not even born yet at that time, by the way, so I think so. No just a total coincidence, but it's funny, too. See but it happens to be on that street and every time someone mentions that street that's the first thing I think of but but yeah the voice lessons that is a pretty cool. I actually thought on your are you done your mileage Kingdom list. Am I swore? You would have second floor of the Columbia house or I did? Oh my God. It's right here on my list. That way. I know you will second floor on top of Breezeway. Exactly. Oh my gosh. Oh, you know why cuz I was so excited to get to East Center Street. So you're right because I know we've dined there before and talked about how it is wonderful out-of-the-way little quiet Nook that either gives you a view of the courtyard in front of Haunted Mansion or the Tangled area and you know, the the entrance to Columbia Harbor House and it's a small world on the other side. There you go. So Pecos Bill's and Polly Sleepy Hollow Harbor House East Center Street storybook circus. There you go. Very well, then they all involve food home pignose Phyllis is cool. Cuz I feel like there's a lot there's a lot in there the most people don't get to a chance to appreciate cuz they think it's a place to eat eat, you know, there's great Stories being told on the walls of picture are there and there's so there's so many cool rooms. There's like a memory storage there. There's a room. It's like you're outside and inside outside the house. So yeah, it's it's really fun to explore. Like I said, you get off the beaten path far enough. It's it doesn't crowds dissipate. And if I guess if you're at an odd time, you could even have some of these rooms to yourself basically cool. So all right, where where are we going next? Let us prove to Epcot Center. I know we both have jobs. A a larger affinity for that Park. Yeah, this was hard and this is good cuz this will give me a chance to think of an Animal Kingdom ones. I didn't have one for my list but wage. Yeah, so for you know what I'll Have chicks. I have one that falls into category if it's not there anymore, and I miss it terribly or it's not there in the way I remember being but then I have real ones. The one I thought this was always a place I went this was the Rest up get out of the Sun for a few minutes cool off and chill like there was that place as we're talking about different places to go? And this was off. I believe I guess the area still there. I'm not sure the the whole future world is of course changing rapidly as we all know. This was in the interventions building on we get this right on the south side of the park which would be the right side of the park. I'm still confused why they built Epcot upside down, but that's you know, but it was the interventions building and what it was the the back part as you walk through from the plaza in future world. If you were making your way over to future world had my hands up in front me West West with the land and Nemo and all that. There was a great place that was it was just this building there was nothing there was just this great expanse of space is dead. To space one of one of the best restrooms cuz nobody's ever there. But if it's so the thing I always remember about it was so cold and I was usually getting there because I would be walking from the Epcot resort area go through World Showcase taking the stopped to say hello to figment by that time. This Northern child is pretty drained by that time. So this is a great place to go to stop. It was right by Club cool where you could get my I could enjoy my Beverly and then go in and sit down and cool off, but it was such one. It was a very just nice place to sit and relax cuz not a lot of people were there but it was very very cold. It was one of the best air conditioning spots, but on occasion, you would have some interesting things to look at and for the longest time they had the pictorial timeline of Epcot up on the wall. So you could while you're relaxing you could Club. Take a journey back through time and see how Epcot grew over the years. They've had special exhibits there. Back at 4 epcot's 25th anniversary. They had a special exhibit and this is where I saw the Dreamcatcher vehicle the robot from Horizons early models of spaceship earth. It's very cool. I'm in recent years that's been a place for special exhibits at flower and garden and food and wine. I think it was flower and garden. They had a very cool light bulb beverage exhibit. I took pictures. I still understand what it was the beverages were good. But it was just a great place to go relax and get out of the Sun and palm rest those tired feet for a while catch a breath and then go on out and try your luck with crush and Nemo and all those wacky Critters. Try your luck. Was there a lot of gambling get involved like not sure what you need to get with the Crush in Nemo. I got a little scared when that deep sea fish. The luck was weathered the deep sea angling fish animatronic. Was working or not cuz if it's working then I'm a little scared if it's not then I'm okay. So that was the gamble boy. That was a stretch but you know what? I mean? I got you down. I do remember and I love that area in for a number of years. A lot of of futureworld West on the left side right side was it it sat empty to a degree and there was a lot of times that you'd be able to go in there and it was sometimes it be tables and chairs or at least be able to sit by the windows and cool off and get away from it all in the interest of time to actually keep this top ten ish and not mentioning every single quiet corner and boy, I could have mentioned every World Showcase Pavilion too and.

"Solitude as it were and here's throw the immediate wrench into your arm on here we go. I will tell you some things that are not on my list because I just I just felt that they were obvious with your hotel room, right? I think your hotel room is obviously what's up. You know. What? All right fine. Is it? Is it on your list? Yeah. Oh so never mind forget. What were the weather with a dog? Caveat though. So it'll it'll make sense. Go ahead will knock out the rest of my list. What else doesn't know that's fine. That's all I had. I just know. Didn't put it on my list. We can talk about yours and then we'll also talk about a few extinct quiet places that are unfortunately lost over time that I want to make sure I come back to and talk to cuz I'm sad and that they are gone. I actually have one of those on my block list two, very interesting. So I thought as we even started to talk I said, why don't we do it to make it easier for people who are thinking and planning out their upcoming trips or visits to the park? What if we try and break it down or at least go in order of park by Park and then Resorts and Disney Springs if you have any Wow. Again rules. I was not made privy to don't think of it as a role as a guideline. What if they all revolve around my Resort room, though? Well, then yawned. I think we're starting. We're we stuck. Well, I think it makes sense to start in in Magic Kingdom. How can I say Magic Kingdom? And you guys there's no what no. Well, actually I'll start this cuz this was the the piece on my the item on my list that is not round any more and If I am checking my list to make sure the s that was the only one so this was as I mentioned as I thought of different reasons why you would want to find a quiet spot. This was in the category of just getting away from the hustle and bustle of the Park's taking a little breather not necessarily eating or anything like that but finding a place to chill for a while and my favorite place for the longest time was the exposition Hall in the Town Square on Main Street, and this is before Mickey arrived in the meet and greets arrive. This was back when you could go in And a lot of people I feel didn't really know this was there and if you walked back a little bit You Came Upon there's galleries of memorabilia and photos from the early days of Walt Disney World. There was a little theater you could watch old cartoons and nobody was ever in there and I I was always in there saying this should be an attraction. You should be on the list as a fast passage, right? Cuz it was so neat and if you had any Well from the sense of if you had any interest in history of Disney or fan this this was I always felt a must place to go cuz you got a glimpse of how everything started off and got to see other part grew through over the years but more than that though because nobody really knew it was there and never visited you really had that all to yourself pretty much any time you went back inside. So that checks off the get out of the Florida Sun list on your on your list, but it is, you know, is air conditioned it was inside. There's nobody there. You could stay home as long as you want. There was no, you know path you had to go through you could Meander and look at exhibit sit down and watch a cartoon take a break and that was one of my places to go cuz not only could relax and get away from it all but it was for that Disney fan. This was such a great place to visit there was so much to see and learn there. But again, he had it all to yourself. So what could be better and I miss it dead. I miss it terribly I do too and but there's other places you can go which will get yeah and Town Square theater and it wasn't until it became the meet-and-greet off. Yeah. Well it really sort of became the Town Square theater around 2011 when I replaced the Walt Disney story and that at the time it was the Town Square Exposition Hall. I was actually two theaters in the back and then at one point one of them was closed and Waldorf. Do you remember there used to be the hand painted mural of the hundred plus Disney characters back there. They yeah. Yeah. Yeah, but you're right. Yeah. No, I remember there was one trip. I I missed doing this. Actually, I didn't even think of this were on my list but public places why you want to get away and chill? This trip was I brought a Sketchbook down with me and I was just doing a lot of sketching and drawing of of anything and I remember being in there and that was one of the great things I sat there and all the characters are there. So I'm like schedule the characters of my little book, but it was great you're sitting there and nobody's there. You're in that you're in that Disney Art mode. It's really it was really cool. Yeah, and they used to show a variety of shorts and not the short movies + package films. Like I think for some reason I have this memory of seeing the legend of Ichabod and mr. Toad in there at one point and it was just it was it was not a time thing. The theater was just open you could sort of come and go at your leisure. That was the best part and there's a few of these on well pretty much everything on this list, I guess by definition of stuff, you know, but you could just walk into there's no you have to get a FastPass or so schedule time. There's no show you have to wait like it's a great place about all of these things. I'm sure we're going to talk about going anytime you want job? Stay as long as you want, you know, so it was really cool. Yeah. Yeah, the one the Walt Disney story was there and I think we talked about this on a show. We did like a Wayback machine to nineteen seventy-three. When the Walt Disney story was there I loved it because obviously told the story of Walt and there there was that sort of Mini U Museum that was in there and then and that for over the years actually became the the welcome center for the anniversary. There was also the preview area for Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios later on and then off there was also Hoot Gibson Gibson the owl when he was talking about the Western River expedition that was supposed to be coming later on in the eighties and then it became an Epcot film later.

"To rock. That's listen pantsless is usually the way things happen around here. So okay after all these years. It's it's how I'm happy to see you finally getting on board wage. I'm I'm learning. I'm learning from The Mask. It's a slow. It's a slow burn but I get it. But listen I am I am very excited about this and admittedly and I'm saying cuz cuz it was my idea but I love this idea because we've done shows in the past fifteen years about going solo to Walt Disney World and I I like personally especially as a local. I love going to the parks and being alone and quiet and out of the way and I don't necessarily always get a chance wage. Do that and I look I start off every show talking about sitting back relaxing Etc. And while I don't get to personally do it much. I do sometimes like to do it off when I'm in the Walt Disney World parks and Resorts and and I and Tim I think for a lot of people especially because of the fact that there is so much to do and I do have a finite amount of time a lot of people often don't want to or are afraid to maybe even don't know how to slow down when they're on a wall vacation due in part because I think they're afraid they're going to miss something right? I don't have time to just sit and relax because I should be doing X or I could be doing all these other things. Well on one hand. Yes, you could be missing something and probably for everything on my list. I'm trying to member as I did them when I had those pangs of guilt like dude, you shouldn't be sitting here. You should be in line going to these attractions cuz you paid for this trip, but sometimes that being alone and relaxing is the engine area if that makes sense when you can take advantage of it and appreciate everything around you no matter where you are, but we'll go all over the place. I'm sure but yeah, and and I agree with 1% and I think sometimes it's hard to do that right now. It's hard to turn that off and to that end. Sometimes you need one of these quiet spots off possibly to work because sometimes you just you physically cannot get away from it all and especially when you know you and it all is your business, right and your business exists and lives now dead. In our pockets with our phones, I understand especially if you own your own business, you know, or have a something where you are quote unquote on call there are sometimes wage do need to get away from the hustle and the bustle and the you know, the sound of the parade music behind you and find some of these quiet spots to get some work done. I know look even even when I wasn't a local there were times they would come down here and be working on a book or an audio tour and I just needed some places that were quiet to go and work and we're going to incorporate some of those places as well not just to get away and relax but get away and get some work done too. Yeah. I try to think of the get away and do some work schedule when I was picking out my ideas. I'm not sure if this is on your list, so I won't know I remember back in the days the little Nuance to that was the quest to find an outlet off. That kind of thing. So there's there's one that came to mind right away, but it was more about now. Let's say cuz it was more your place that you took me too, but it was more about not so much that it was the quiet place to get some work done cuz I think we did some recording at the time but it that was back in the day when that was the only Outlet in all of the Magic Kingdom. You could find so Tim. I I hate see how times change I hate to tell the story but I will and it will show just anyway take from the story when you will there was a time that I was working for a family business that we had sold and and we were just in the middle of this transition to you know, a a corporate environment and I was the chief technology officer for the company, but I had a a planned vacation to come down and do some work and I'll never forget being in Disney's Animal Kingdom and being told that morning that I had to be on the job. Conference call at 3:00, whatever time it was and I needed to go and find a payphone dial. Yeah, and I found what I thought was the song wildest Payphone in Disney's Animal Kingdom, which is near where the current Starbucks is. There's also the the the first aid station Etc is back there used to be a bank of phones. So nobody knew where I was I dialed in and I tried to keep my hands or covering the mouthpiece kids. You can Google what a pay phone looks like an edge as I'm standing there pretending to, you know be engrossed in this meeting the Disney's Animal Kingdom Christmas parade starts coming by with a shuttle the music and the floats and I'm like covering them covering the microphone like this and I'm trying to and that's really what I realized that I needed to leave that job immediately and moved down to Florida which in fact I did so there you go. Yeah, some people would have taken that as I really need to find a quiet place so I can do my job but what the other way right I was like this is not going to get out of this page. I like I like so before we get into our our actual, you know, what makes for I was trying to think what are sort of the requisite elements for a good quiet place right now. I was sort of trying to figure out as assembling my list and for me, there's really three point one. There's only three main things with a an optional bonus as well. I think one the place needs to be quiet and don't necessarily say quiet places Tim. I don't think we necessarily mean isolated but really be a place that is at least Serene. I tried to find places that had seating and there's various levels of comfort. Some benchers are not quite as comfortable as some home. Couches, I think you need shade from the Florida sun which beats down on you about 361 days out of the year. And in a perfect world is not perfect. Lou Monticello world. My good quiet place should also involve be close to or have at least food accessible to it you he's going to say food or an electric outlet. But I knew you were going to go I usually bring my car. I usually I try to go look at a lot. Yeah, I do. I do try and bring at least two months back up portable chargers, but all those things you put all those things together if there's food it's like Zen and Nirvana. It's all just there in in one pack. I feel like for you if you only got I gather food was the point one correct requisite item on your list, but I think if you had the point one and nothing else, you would still be a happy camper. Oh, yeah, I could miss them. Right, I could work at The Boathouse. No problem. No sweat. Sure. I was going sorry got no. I was going through my list same thing you and I realized how long this down quickly enough addressing different reasons. You want to get away whether it's you just want to get away and relax whether you need to get some work done to make that phone call them or you're hungry but you need a you know, that kind of thing. So they really fell into different categories quite an interesting exercise.

"Disney wars and all of that, and actually if you go back, excuse me and listened to show number four, zero seven. We have a detailed discussion about ten books that need to be in every Walt Disneyworld fans library and I won't spoil it for you. But some of these books are in there including the story of Walt. Disney World Jeff Cardi book is in there. The Walt Disney's epcot center is a fantastic book since the world began another Jeff Kurti Book imagineering fueled guides are in there and a number of others I think. I think the designing. Disney book. Might be under the architecture of reassurance I think made this list there's a second. This is a follow up an additional ten additional books that need to be on in every world and I'm not. This is not meant to just say, no none of these books are a plug for any of the Walt Disney World Trivia, books? One. Hundred Eighty. Four disneyworld. Pictures Range. That's why the pirates. Up a pop up Trivia Book. There you go. That's All worlds right there. The production costs alone or make that incredibly. So isn't it time? Isn't it time for a new book though I actually just found as I was not only cleaning out my garage and closets but my mom's house after she passed did you ever did I ever? I don't even know. I. Think I knew when I did my Walt Disneyworld Trivia page a day calendar. We we're just yes you had. You were giving those away. At one point and yes, I remember seeing them You know what I found a guess what you're getting for Christmas. In two, thousand, nine calendar going to actually up with whatever. Month Day. So It was that was a ton of fun to do. It was a ton to research because obviously I needed three hundred, sixty, five different bits of Trivia. But had this little like flip book animation in the CY and Doing some Trivia Games and stuff like that. Correct. They were at the time. Probably, not so much but a very expensive thing to produce just and to get onto to bookshelves but it was very cool. That was two, thousand nine. So it's a different daily also. Let's move on. Catherine Renee Williams says oh I just like the title Disneyland Rumor or fact. Show, music. Year. That how the Games are musicals all right. Sure why not I was I once heard this about the sleeping beauty castle in Disneyland. Isn't it? True? That the top half is on backwards. When I first heard this I thought this is ridiculous surely not she says, but recently, I saw a picture of the back of sleeping beauty castle never actually been to Disneyland. We was going to Disneyworld and there was something very elegant and front of the castle looking to it. So I was wondering if the rumor was true after all I, really love the show actually awaiting the newest episodes. Thank you for bringing us a little bit of Disney magic every week it makes cleaning less of a drag. So I love this question and I actually love the answer and the story even more because as Legend has it and this this has been you know we've heard people like Marty sklar and and Bob Girl and others tell the same and stimulus similar story so I take it to be true. When the castle was being designed. Herbie Reimann. Who obviously legend legendary measure was designing the castle he was integrating a number of different elements from noiselessly stink castle in Bavaria and other story elements from Disney and folklore. And when he? Created. His initial sketches of the castle was turned into a three D. model as as everything was was created in miniature so they could actually visualize what it would look like in a in the park. Get an idea of sight lines and aesthetics etcetera and after he saw it in Three D., he was kind of staring at it and dead. Just, just not right about this and. He wanted to be an needed to be an obviously Walter agreed that it needed to be. Quote Unquote perfect right because this really was the the symbol of the entire place and the person who actually had done. The motto was Fred You're who you might know as The imagine who did a lot of the rock work in both. Disneyland as well as Walt Disneyworld the actually fine Freddie Krueger. He was honored with a tombstone and in a in the haunted mansion here lies dear old Fred. A great big rock fell on his head will upgraded rock on his head because he designed all the rottweiler rock work so. So. Her we look at it and says, you know it's great. But I, just I'm not digging it and according to story he basically took the upper part of the model, picked it up and turned it around and was playing around to see how it might look and he's doing this as they're getting ready for a meeting with Walt Disney and it might have been. I. Don't want to say I. Don't maybe Dick was I. don't think it was big news I remember who it was. So look you gotta hurry up and put this back walters coming in and he didn't and walt walks in and he looks at the castle and he's like. I like this this this looks much better than your original design was. So the like. Okay, if Walter, it's okay. This is what we're going to go with Walt likes Herbie likes it and that's the story about how the back the top half of the castle is backwards. From the original design that's very cool. I had not heard that story before and. This is the type of thing when you hear those backstories why we've been so blessed to be able to hear them from Mardi when he was with us and others to hear the behind the velvet rope stories of how these things came about and that little piece of Trivia is incredibly Colt now. Well and what's what's cool about a two is sometimes. There are these happy little accidents you know to sort of US deserve. Euphemism. That is how some of these things. Actually come to be much like those happy little accidents of things that happened with us when we're planning events. Like our conversation, the other day, which I won't end to hear. But no, it was there was a happy little accent so. All right. Let's go. Oh, I'm entering this question. I. Don't even know what the question is. I'm answering own simply because of who sent it it's from Corey Bassett, the keeper of the box. Inquiry. Who He's the keeper of the box because during the twenty three, Expos Corey is there manning the technical side of the live broadcast literally carrying around someone's got to do it and? I appreciate you cory and core is also a member of our armed services and I appreciate his service and sacrifice. So very well. So I don't even care what your questions, Corey I'm answering it here. And it says and I quote Peleliu Dot Dot and probably Her Majesty becky whole. Wow Corey..

"It's time for our birth. Disney World trivia question of the week right invite you to test your knowledge of Walt Disney World History or to see how well you pay attention to the details, which you see here taste to remember if you think you know the answer you can enter via our online form for a chance to win Disney Prize Package, of course before we get to this week's question. We're going to go back review last week's and select our winner. So last week's question was a salute to all Pavilions in World Showcase, but mostly Japan because in that Pavilion which yes is my favorite. There was a gift that was given to Walt Disney World specifically wrong Disney from the emperor of Japan and his gift was originally located at the Polynesian but was moved to Epcot when it opened. I asked you to tell me what items in the Pavilion Was that gift so first thank you and congratulations to everyone who entered and got this one, correct and knew that the answer is a Japanese Lantern or a Toro not just a quick history when Emperor Hirohito of Japan visited Disneyland in nineteen seventy-five. He was given as a gift a Mickey Mouse watch which became one of his most prized possessions in 1979. It stopped ticking. He approves very concerned. They brought an American watch experts to fix it. It was actually reported in the times. Of course. It was just discovered that all it needed was a new battery, but Demonstrated just how important Disney was to the emperor and really the friendship and the relationship that he had with not just the company but really with Roy Disney himself and because of that friendship and life because the emperor eventually wanted to have a Disney park in Japan when Walt Disney World open the emperor gave a gift of this Stone Lantern known as a Toro during the dedication of the Magic Kingdom Choi not to be clear. This Stone Lantern is actually on a pedestal. It's about probably seven eight feet tall switch quite large after the Magic Kingdom open. It was moved to the off-season Village Resort. And then once Epcot open, it was moved to the Japan pavillion and placed in the Rock Garden just across from the entrance to the Mitchell cozy department store. Now the Lantern and it's designed not as significant not just because of what has on it. For example, the deer on the lantern is representation of the Nara Deer Park in Japan, but the lantern really is meant to light the way to success for Thursday. And specifically Walt Disney World. Oh, by the way, obviously, we know that Japan did in fact get their Park after they signed a contract back in 1979 to build Tokyo Disneyland, but I took off the correct entries randomly selected one. And again last week you were playing for not just all of my digital products, which is my hundred and two ways to save money for not Walt Disney World Book all 7 of my virtual audio walking tours of the history secrets and stories of Magic Kingdom both by the way still a man available at the shop at wwe.com. "Name is Michael Iceberg. And he performed in Walt Disney World. And he also performed in Disneyland just to give you a little bit of background page. Michael Iceberg was a classically trained pianist started learning piano around age four went to a little school called Julliard and somehow ended up in retail music sales was not able to do you know everything that he wanted to with this but he became fascinated by this new keyboard and synthesizer technology wage was coming really into Vogue in the mid-seventies, you know, early eighties and what he did was he programmed a lot of these machines himself and he actually would gather parts and sounds from all of these different non musical areas and bring them to start creating music and from what I understand he wage. Was playing in a bar near the Disney Studios in California where a number of artists would go in they were incredibly entertained by him. They kept on going back to the studios to the higher-ups thing. You've got to hear this guy and eventually got them to come into the bar and he was offered an entertainment gig in Tomorrowland in Disneyland. Eventually came over to Walt Disney World and he was Michael Iceberg and the incredible Iceberg machine and he played in the Tomorrowland Terrace, which is currently on a cosmic rays Starlight Cafe, and this Iceberg machine was This incredibly large and complicated multi keyboard type instrument that he developed by combining all of these different synthesizers to create a very unique musical style and he gathered all this technology into what would become this almost pyramid like structure that Iceberg kind of confined himself in and it was this wild cacophony of music and sounds but he was as much of a performer as the music that he was playing he would stop in between songs off and describe what the machine was and how it people together and how he programmed it and there's all these lights and fog machines that happening again, very eighties ish wage. Described him the things that he gathered and cobbled together from flea markets and washing machine parts and would play songs that were familiar things like the William Tell Overture and Main Street Electrical Parade theme in a different Disney songs. If you go back and find some of the videos and almost sounds like the beginning of stranger things like that weird eighties type of sense, but the guy was wacky man. He was like then I took effect that he was whacked out of his mind. No two shows were every ever the same and you can tell that Disney really gave him and this was was something that I thought was interesting was that they gave him a lot of creative freedom in terms of not necessarily have to scripting the two script out every part of his show. It was this poem very stream of crazy Consciousness that that Michael would do. But what I think it did do to Kendall is it probably got a lot of kids song Listed in music and synthesizers. And again, I don't want to take anything. The guy was a instill as a remarkably talented and gifted not just pianist and composer but singer as well what I thought was really interesting when I went back and watched one of the videos too is as part of the the big Iceberg apparatus there were mirrors up above his head angled down so you could actually see him playing all the different buttons and keys and everything that were on it and was this odd because I never saw this in person but was this at the same time when the stage in there would rise up? Yeah, so he would yeah he would and he come up again amidst this, you know, very easy 70s 80s type, you know lights and fog and smoke and stuff is so it made a very dramatic and grand entrance. Yeah. I mean, it's definitely different kind of music a.m. Is kind of crazy like in a way that like when you listen to stomp or something like it's it's you know, the ability to take all these different sounds and everything and make music out of it and you kind of live off for a while and you think okay what's going on here and then you pick up like, you know, he's playing when you wish upon a star or something, but it's not like a typical Melody. It's just all these different things coming together to somehow make that music. Yeah, I I always found it very I mean think Michael Iceberg was very much an attraction in and of himself. Well, my mom next one, I'm going to stick with some entertainment but I'm going to go the opposite side of the Magic Kingdom over to frontierland. And this was a very Deja Vu moment for me. The one time we were walking through. I mean within the last decade walking through frontierland and I I think we might have even I don't know my husband's known for enjoying corn dogs, which we recently found out. They don't have them are corn dogs at the frontier land car anymore. That's side note but a travesty so we're standing there by the cart the corn dog cart and I'm looking across the way at rooftops and I think to myself I I remember something being here. I remember watching and then I thought know that I'm like I swear I read Four guys shooting in each other on the rooftops and no Disney wouldn't let there be like a shootout in the park and so very recently I thought was looking through some old Disney World ephemera. I had and I had an old times guide that I got minis autograph on and I opened it up and lo and behold in there it listed the frontier lands nutshell. So upon doing some more research. I found out I was not crazy. And in fact, there was a stunt show that took place several times a day throughout frontierland and it was the Marshall and Cactus Jack Slade and his partner Cody and then a character that they just called stupid kid. Ted Cactus Jack and Cody clearly annoyed with with.
