"It was funny. A lot of people ask about no event, and it was obvious. You know, you do enough zooms or press conferences. You know when someone's writing about someone or doing a TV store, even a radio feature, and so the sense was a lot of people are wondering. Oneself ain't gonna come along, but we talked about it on your show during the week. He was given the ankle injury, then the ribs, But he's you know, a full participant on Friday and he knows with no Alberto. He is the speed element and their best tight end all around. I think you know you have Nick Vonette. You brought up to Magali, Jake Button back coming back for my are. He knows that he's got to be a bigger focal point Shermer talked about. They need to do a better job of making him a focal point and I think he will be Not just because I have done a couple fantasy teams, but I think because there's a reason he was drafted in the first round, and it wasn't the Broncos over drafted him. He was drafted where everyone had him is the second best tight end last year. The draft and odds are when this is all said and done, He may end up being the best tight end with apologies, TJ Hawkins and everyone else in that draft. Last year. He just needs the you know, kind of take another step, and I think they're looking to figure out the easiest way to do that, But But I do think they will go out of their way to make him a little bit bigger part of the game plan when he's on the field. Okay. Um, What do you think we're gonna look like today at right tackle? Damar Dotson and And I think that it'll look like that until Damar either physically can't play. Um Yeah, I guess that's the best way to characterize it until he physically can't play. I don't think even Elijah Wilkinson coming back. You have to say you got Wally Pipp. But there's a reason to Martin Johnson had over 100 starts when he got here. And while it was Elijah's job, he unfortunately got hurt. I don't he's playing. Poorly enough to lose his job. Some people might have made that argument earlier. No big al and I talked about you want to see him go at least six weeks to understand if you really Fit at that spot. And if and if you should, if they should make a change, Well, he gets hurt. Tamara Dobson comes in and you're reminded. Okay, this is why this guy's in the league for 12 years, And he's a remarkable story for a guy that played college basketball star playing football until he was done because you never played football until after he was done with college hoops at Southern Miss to scratch out any kind of NFL career, but let alone one With 100 plus starts and because he added up now over 110 starts in 12.

"Price for it so far, keeps it three and Oh, can they Goto for no with a win over the Patriots, we'll find out tomorrow night. Raiders or two and two. There. They're about where they should be trying to hang in. Ah charges a one in three but they've actually been better than that. If you ask me and Justin Herbert is goingto Wally Pipp Tyrod Taylor again, you'll remember Tyrod Taylor Ah went to AA Cleveland to be their starting quarterback. Got hurt Baker Mayfield got in. He never got back on the field, or he didn't as its starting quarterback, And I think the same thing's gonna happen in Los Angeles. I know the charges, the one and three so Herbert ads and put up wins, but he kept him in the game today against Tom Brady is he was going nuts. He kept him in the game. Against Patrick Mahomes, the best quarterback in football. So despite the fact that it's not ending up in W's, I do think to charge into playing pretty well and I know her bridge playing well, and I think he's going to stay as their starting quarterback. And the Denver Broncos or one in three because they played the gets this week who are worse than they are. So the Broncos they're going nowhere fast. Not with Ah and Rippen made some plays the other night. But he also made some mistakes the other night, and if they're going to go with him going forward Jake Driscoll isn't the answer. So they need to get their starting quarterback back lock until in. They were locked and not be a playoff contender, at least in my eyes. The NFC least. You've got the Washington football team at one and three and they are minus 33 in Point differential. Four weeks in the Dallas Cowboys, the one and three and they're minus 20. In Point differential. Three weeks in the vote out, the Eagles are up 8 7.5 against the Ravens against the 40 Niners in Sunday night football. But there minus 28 at 02 and one And the Giants are going for and their minus 49 in point, deferential. Oh, there's a real good can't that someone is going to win this division with less than eight wins? It could be the Cowboys at seven and nine. It could be the Eagles at 781. They eventually have to start playing each other, so somebody's gotta win and someone's gotta lose the Redskins. Only win, of course, was the divisional win when they beat the Eagles Week one That's just a flat out bad division. Green Bay three and oh, legit. I think they're going for two poor in autumn, All Chicago's three and one, but we don't really know their quarterback ISS. That's kind of tough to do when your three in one right now. That's the case in Chicago Lions at one and three and Vikings gotta win today, but it was only to get off the side and get the one in three themselves. Shockingly, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are ahead of the NFC South. I hope you realize I'm doing that with tongue and keep because when Tom Brady was added, everyone believed Dad put the buck certainly in the mix for the division and maybe as a favorite in the division Saints won today. There too, into their game back. Those two teams have to play. Um one more time. The same authority. I will win over the box. We'll see out at division shakes out. I think it's those two. I give Matt rule a lot of credit for getting the Panthers to two and two after they lost efforts to and they lost their best player and Christian McCaffrey. So good job out of that coaching staff down in Carolina. And the Falcon Heroin three, and Amy may be looking for a new coach this time by Tuesday. Ah, Seattle's For a No. There are only two for no teams Buffalo in Seattle. Enough, said Russell Wilson, right there for the MVP award. Rams had to fight hard to beat the giant today, but they did just add. So they are three and one Niners or two on one. If they win tonight, they're tied for second with the Rams..

"Wednesday. The pools Are complete in their front office and with their coach. Now they have to go to work on the roster. We'll circle back to some of the Billy Donovan discussion. They land a pretty big fish. You got to give him that, and we will play the TNT crew talking about it last night during the Lakers and Nuggets game. How about the Nuggets Mention mall. Murray is Memories averaging in his playoff career, like 55% more points per game that he has in the regular season. That's an astronomical turned it on is like a marvel in the play offs. He was even pretty good last year from overhear this year with Denver, right, seven. Pick How come the Bulls can't get a good sock arm with Denver, right? Yes. Denver Yoriko. Yes, Steph Curry was a seven pick right Jamal Marina market and was 1/7 pick one of the Bulls doing their seventh in it, said this town's history straight year, Townsend. Seven. Pick right. Carla sounds no news number one number one Who's our guy that we got from went out Carter. That's our guy. We'll circle back to some of that. There's a there's a There's some other stuff happening. There's a developing story that Merc into that a few minutes ago. In the NFL. Justin Herbert got his first action last week. Every I didn't see a ton of that game I mostly watched the condensed version on game passed, but I watched organ a lot, and I like him, and I even showed your co a time or two Last year, I had asked you to look at the tape. See what you think. I mean, the kid's arm is like, Look at this. Throw your IQ and your go. Yeah, my God. I mean, it's he could make he'll make every NFL throws because the arm is so strong. That doesn't always mean it's you know, Cutler had a strong right, I get it. Jim Gordon. It's from the melon sometimes gets in the way. But God, there's so much to like, and I thought he played pretty well to me. I'd be stunned if they ever went back to Tyrod Taylor. But now we're finding out that Tyrod Taylor didn't play. Not just because his ribs ribs were banged up, but because the doctors screwed up, read that story Mark that's going just remember Justin Herbert didn't find out a little league game time right before, and he thought he was rich. And they weren't kidding. When they told him you're starting So Adam Schefter has a story that Chargers team doctor accidentally puncture punctured his own quarterback Tyrod Taylor is long just before kickoff Sunday while trying to administer a pain killing injection to the quarterback's correct ribs, Llegan team sources told went like he missed. The market went too deep, and he punctured the longer we went too deep. You went through, You know, the rib, the cartilage and forms. Sounds like a long hold on. I gotta get that It sounds like bulls, Pewter bowls and Lou all Dang. Remember that whole episode with the epidural a few years ago. Remember when they mean the doctors I guess can screw up. But that's scary. I I'm not a doctor. But you. How could Tyrod Taylor come back and play this week with a bunch of horny? What sport was it? They went to numb something and they numb the whole Oh, no. And member. What was that? Remember? It was hockey. I think they went to number thumb in the whole hand with my God with the Hauts. Really? Yes. Yes, Yes. They went to get a thumb. And they they numb the whole damn thing. You know the nerd. There's another that right and then they got everything. Oh, yeah, This is the hockey thing. So I mean, when did something and they got it all it can happen. But I mean, Tyrod Taylor can't play this week of his lung was punctured nutty. No, no, that's got to take. You know you. You push her along, kid. All the air goes out that's taking a while for it to repair itself. Then fill back up the way it needs to be filled. Now he's a young on a hot air balloon. I would I wouldn't imagine some serious a young man, a young, a world class athlete. Probably He'll quit, but I'm sure it can tire a Taylor. I'm livid because Justin Herbert might steal my job here if he plays well, because I can't play because the doctors screwed up. Just got Wally pipped. You have a lot that doctors have a lawsuit, and it's for those going. Who the hell's Wally Pipp. Here go. Wally Pipp is the guy that played before Lou Gehrig decided he needed to take a day off. One feeling well, little gag, went into play and never never saw the field again, and always Lou Gehrig played for the that we know who he is. Is that the disease named out from a less Yes, probably pretty good baseball player, too. That's what I think. I think all this fame Marie baseball player like Dick Groat Studies, you know, Call them the A. And then the sad news today for Chicago sports fan big poles disease I don't want to know. Just ask him former bitching code or my pitching coach would happen now. Galas, Engine car. Gale Sayers, who has not been in good health. The last couple years battling dimension. We've known that 77 years old Kansas comment is gone. Of course I am way too young, even your co I'm wait. Your man is too young to have seen Gale Sayers. Gale Sayers dominated for a five year stretch, like few players in NFL history have ever dominated Hey, was so dominant that just those five years got him into the hall of Fame without question. From 1965 to 1969 before a devastating the injuries just took over. He actually came back after the first day. So it's when the other knee got hurt, especially back then. That it was too much to overcome. Gale Sayers actually played that 69. I believe that 69 season after injuring the needle early the year before, if I read the timeline, correct, but anyway from 65 to 69 Which predates Ah, lot of us. But still, Gale Sayers averaged you ready for this 96 a half yards per game from scrimmage in the National Football League. He had 48 rushing touchdowns in that span rushing and receiving touchdowns. I should say in that span And if you add in his brilliance on special team, it was six more scores. So 56 touchdowns in a 64 game span folks from 1965 to 1969. He is truly the stuff of legends. Gale Sayers is one of those guys that when YouTube kind of became a popular thing like I I'll still find myself every once in a while, like I just want to watch old Walter highlights. What do we do when we were kids? You know, but my God before YouTube or I never got to see Gale Sayers. I could go to YouTube and watch Gale Sayers. And he was a marvel. Gale Sayers would.

"Here in our New York studios with this four board update games in progress right now in the National Football League late second quarter Cardinals lead Washington by a score of 22 nothing Tyler Murray 16 21 Touchdown pass Already today another game in progress. Ravens lead the Texans by a score of 20 to 7 in the second quarter final from earlier today. Cowboys over the Falcon 42 39 Packers beat the Lions 42 21 Titans beat the Jaguars 33 3rd about to Chris and Brian and so count. Well on June 12th 1923 Luke Garrett replaced Wally Pipp at first place for the Yankee at first base for the Yankees, and he started the all time consecutive games streak that would later be broken by Cal Ripken. But while he pit became a verb Don't you get Wally Pipp? That means you kind of lose your job forever. We were talking before the game about is Tyrod Taylor. Just a placeholder for Justin. Her, but we didn't know it was a place holder just until kickoff. No, but Herbert is coming. He's got a touchdown. Touchdown throwing charges of 14 6 lead well. It's never a bad time to pull out. Wally Pipp reference. We'll see if it holds up here today with You know the MVP on the other side of Kansas City Chiefs Herbert nine of 1534 yards couple of carries with a touchdown charges a run for 93 yards in this one, they have a 14 to 6 lead. With 2 30 to go in the second quarter. "By the National Basketball Association on the first team. John Moran, Brandon Clarke's eyeing on Williams and Eric hostile and also Kendrick. None of the Miami Heat in on the second team. He's got his teammate Tyler hero, so Miami's got to all First or second team already players in non and hero by the way, the rest of the second team Jared's Davis, second Kobe, White, PJ Washington Jr. And really, really active Murray. Coming out of Gonzaga for the Washington Wizards defense. However, it's not stop in Boston right now. 24 to 13 Celtic shooting 67% testy PJ back to you in the opening quarter of Game one of the Eastern Conference finals. Kev and PJ team That's been off the longest since the second round is off to the slower start. A look Rusty Miami hasn't played since last Tuesday. Celtics won that Game seven on Friday. They look fresher, more ready to go, but points in the paint is a problem. Miami's too for seven and Bam is two for six by himself had good looks. They're just not finished with their big guy. Marcus Smart of three out of the time out, shoots an air ball left of the mark out of bounds. Smart is in the game with Kemba Walker, Jalen Brown. Daniel Tiesheng. Jason Tatum's on the bench and Jimmy Butler will bring the heat up with none hero Andre Gondola and Kelly Olynyk, the onetime Boston Celtics. Get outta holding on top of the arc against Thais. Watching the traffic to his right gives it to hero sets. A screen for hero is opened for three missed the shot rebounded by Oja laid didn't switch out here. I got a better look than he should have got just a simple hand off smart holding against none that will back up on them and calls twice for that high screen. Marcus goes to his left now runs done through the Thai street to his right gets an off balance 20 footer that Mrs Tip by hero Walker and a hand on it ripped away and hero comes up with it for Miami. 2 15 to go in the first quarter. The heat down nine points feels like they're down larger. Does Kendrick Nunn for three bags it and now that deficit is down to eight. Bolsters Got to up That could be the 23 zone testy and it is my math was bad. It was before that triple little different look here by small out of the timeout basket. Marcus smart driving hero toward the Post tried to pass through the lane got tip and a loose ball foul is going to be called against Daniel Tyson was trying to get in the passing lane and take it away. That's been a problem with Tyson's well as he has played all these fouls that add up the game goes on, quite frankly. Brad Stevens doesn't like the sub plays. His start is very, very big minutes, and they were not happy When Thais comes out. That was a tough call. Ball was deflected. It was going for a loose ball came Fitzgerald felt it was too much contact. I agree with Daniel Thais second entices. He heads to the bench. A gondola with it. We'll skip it to the left side to hero hero Dr. Puts it high off the window won't fall down and Marcus Smart has the rebound. Good help by the Celtics denied the easy layup. Smart walks to the three point line shoots the triple. Mrs and hero in transition, the other way ahead. Drug. It's euros down the lane Lays it up and in Miami heat just like that, back within six annual Tyce is lucky to get a foul right there. There was a little bit of contact with the dragon. But Shawn, right, passed on the call 1 12 County to go first quarter Boston has led by as many as 13 leads down to six delay on the left angle guarded by the rookie. None. Now the dribble handoff to the top. Jalen Brown with five to shoot Brown down to the post extends the left arm got the whistle off the hack. We'll get the line for two with 59 seconds left in the quarter. Both of these teams have so many good defenders. They're not reluctant at all to switch that time you ended up with Kelly Atlantic. Jalen Brown, Jim Brown goes Hey, I could beat you on the dribble, and he did just that. None picks up his second personal foul Heard Kevin winner mentioned none. First team All rookie has been a starter all year long. And then the first two free throws goes down for Jalen Brown, but he tested positive for cold. That's a real into the bubble. Gotta Wally Pipp situation. They went back to Goran Dragic's drive, which is played unbelievably well, as has the team so they haven't looked back. Tyler Hero second team, also known by one point second team missed. Eric passed till the first team from the Warriors by one point, both free throws Go down for Jalen Brown Celtics Back up. Miami quickly slip past for drug great save Going across the baseline up top dollar gets a look at a three. It's a miss around the rebound with 45 seconds to go in the first. Last five minutes. Miami's looks have been much better than the first four. But they're not going down Boston slowing things up here, PJ. It's Jalen Brown between the legs dribble into a double team to the free throw line. Leaner off the window. No tapped up won't go and Miami has it with Olynyk General wanted two for one. That's why kind of stalled a little bit. They're going to get the last. We'll have about five seconds. Sending out Look what Miami does Shot clock. It's 12 1st Quarter clock at 17 drug. It's dribbling just off the MBA logo near halfcourt now accelerates inside the paint against Kemba Walker swats it away. It's loose pillows on the floor. Derrick Jones Jr saves it, but the shot clock expires as he tried to pick it up on the baseline, turning it over another excellent possession for Boston. Miami wound it down to try and leave him his little time as possible, but can block the shot or stripped Goering drive on the way up. I know what I'm getting from the steel or block, but it was good defense. Boston with three seconds at half court out of the three point line, Walker got stripped of the ball. It's loose and the corn goes off at the end of the first quarter. The Boston Celtics about his hot start as you could get struggles for Miami early but down eight after one unlucky to be down eight. There's still obviously.

"To tell you this con agree. Remember yesterday how I said your stock is rising across the CBS Sports Radio network amongst the producers here. Why do you remember that? Yeah, I'm sure your head's exploding because of how big it's got in because of all that praise with Morales sucking up the sucking up, Thea Suddenly attacked me this morning. He interrupted my beauty sleep six minutes past eight o'clock on the east coast in the this morning. Random attacks from Mikey Day. Connors, one of my favorite people at the station. I imagine he did a good job. Actually, a great job works hard does great work. And a sneaky funny how much you paying more as a Mikey B. T Keep on saying good things about you know, you should have responded and said, Actually, Mike, he was awful. I couldn't stand him. I want a replacement tomorrow on dumb with Connor Green. Uh, that would have been funny. My life knows that have been growing like Pinocchio. My exact response was a lorry Did a segment. How? I don't know who loves Connor Moore, You're morass. Don't want to get his head too big with what I'm about to say, But then I did respond to back. Yeah, He's great. Maybe he'll replace you. Oh, now you can't Wally Pipp. You can have a Wally Pipp situation here that that can't happen. Mikey beat goes away. Goodbye. "And taking that giant leap forward that season. So they have these kind of setbacks. Both injury wise and out, you know, quietly, just being demoted and not being considered. Ah, you know, for one of these situations here with both fan and I would judge He's the guy that between years I kind of worry about because he had such a high high at the beginning and now has been hit with a little low. That if he comes through this, and eventually he'll get another shot. I believe he's just too talented not to get another shot. But I want to see him come through this mentally in this organization, Or is that the type of player is this? The kind of guy that maybe at this point you could use as a chip. Maybe reinforce your pitching staff, and he might need a fresh start in another royal myself, But that's what I'm starting to think it feels, And this is not his fault. It feels like he's been Wally Pipp Band because Geo or Shallah is far better defensively. And I continues to head him, he said on clean up today, you know he's right. Right? So I think it's almost like the wears his future. Right, Geo. Still a relatively young guys going anywhere anytime soon. Yeah. Do you see on game talking to Ricky Ricardo and I and I doubt it because of the nature of this season, But you know, the trade deadline's actually coming up in a couple weeks, August 31st you you see Yankees doing anything, you see anybody doing any kind of significant traits this year? Oh, are you getting some bullpen reinforcement? I think the loss of kingly eyes big. You know, Green's been good holder's been good, but you cannot have enough arms coming out of the bullpen, especially with expanded playoffs. How much of the starting pitchers and just you know, maybe going 56 innings outside of Gary Cole, so I could definitely see Brian Cashman making another move or no. The bullpen are because believe, maybe the loss of mainly It is bigger contest, and it seems on the surface. He was a guy that you could use in different situations. He might be that guy, you know, like a campus situation with serious coming up. That might be the guy that you know it might look for some retribution. There's a lot of little things about Tom again. We're going to be sorely missed. So I do think that the cash will make a move for another arm before the end of the month. We'll see Yankees Red Sox begin tonight. We got the pregame show coming up about 45 minutes. Ricky. Thank you Appreciate it. If you guys real quick. Yeah. All teams are coming are going to be playing. Teams that were just swept at home. So I met Billy's just got swept by the Orioles stock just went by the Tampa Bay Rays. I don't like it when you come when you're playing a team that just got what those two dangerous situations because of a law of averages pocket. Yeah, well, especially the fact that Jake now is not pitching tonight. So you also thrown out into the mix. Even Mohr from the For the med aspect. You know, Here's the thing The Phillies have a chance to be good. The Red Sox think there's a difference there and and it is the Yankees. So I mean, it's you know, it's not Let's fact that added as well. Joe wanted to know before I leave you guys, but I don't know where you stand on this. But I can't be any happier and happier to see Gregg Popovich out of the playoff there. I look, I have. I have absolutely no love for Gregg Popovich Sow Nor do I. I want him out. He's got to get ready for his next job in Brooklyn, where he needs to protect we'll we'll let him take a break. But that will leave it at that. And I opened does not come to the Nets because in it because I might dislike for the next will Well, really ratchet, anyway. Who cares? Well, that is something I would have a lot more if Gregg Popovich was full hell, baby, Ricky, we've got to run. Thank you meant see Arabia Although Lovric, Ricky Ricardo, we'll get we'll get your full calls. 877337 66 66 or more on what Boone had to say about Aaron. Judges going on. He has vowed to make sweeping cultural changes, but it's failed to move the needle to date. From a moral standpoint, there is merit to call for a change. Ray Chapman was a great shortstop apart. The best shortstop in baseball. At the time. He had been plain about eight years in Cleveland. He was only 29 years old. Hey, still holds some major league records are atleast one on most sacrifice hits in a season. So he was a great player, Fastest player in the game at the time, very cheerful player, a flashy fielder, very popular among not just his teammates, but all of you. Baseball, You know, even the opponents like him. And on. They were battling to win their first pin it in 1920. They've never had a winning or a championship team before. And the Indians play Leighton Season They had a Tauron August They had a crucial Siri's Against the Yankees in New York. And it was a three team race. The Indians Yankees on defending champions Chicago White Sox, you later would be tarnished by it. The revelations of the scandal of the 1919 world Siri's, so it was a critical game and on the day of the meaning the Pitcher for the Yankees call maize was ah He was one of the best pitchers in baseball. At that time, he was help standing then, and these two guys had a history and they kind of they both came from poor backgrounds. Born the same year within 50 miles of each other. But they were quite different. Mays was ah, very unpopular player, even among his own teammates. He and Babe Ruth especially did not get along. And this was Babe Ruth's first season with the Yankees, but they had been teammates with the Red Sox as well right. They had come up with the Red Sox. In fact, they came up on the same day shared The train ride up to New York. I mean to boss. Well, I guess they were going to New York. But he when they came up together, and, um But they didn't clash. You know, Ruth was ah, Joe Beale outgoing fellow like to have a good time. Mei's described as a very dour kind of a tight arse, then let the guy and he had a reputation for throwing it hitters. He would frequently lead the league in hit batsmen, but hey, also was unique in that. Hey through under head and he he had hurt his arm in the minor league. So ah switched a submarine style pitching. But unlike most pitchers who throw in the submarine style or that under hand style, Mays was still a power pitcher, and Ray Chapman. I mean, Bill James, the great baseball historian. Has said that place was the only power pitcher among the submarine pictures. So with this unusual delivery here is a very tough for hitters when they came up to place him. And this was a critical game they started for the Yankees. Chapman was leading the Indians and thes two players, you know from a common background. Very diverse personalities. But you know, they you know that day would leave both of the meal with tragic consequences. One man lost his life and The other would forever be haunted by throwing that pitch that killed Ray Chapman. We're speaking with Mike Saoul, who's booked the pitch that killed documents. What happened on August 16th 1920 at the Polo Grounds. Thie on Lee on field fatality. In Major League baseball history, So it's an afternoon game. Obviously, there were no night games. At that point. The Yankees are playing at the Polo Grounds. Yankee Stadium would not open for another two seasons. What happened? Well. It had been raining of a light rain early in the day of the first part of the game. But in the fourth inning, Chapman came up. He had already mad it twice in the game, so he was the lead all theater. The Indians had to lead. It was a close game and the rain had stopped. So there was no rain happening. But on this particular pitch When it came in. For some reason, it came in inside is a little bit high and inside and coming from an unusual angle. You're coming from underground. And the Yankees catcher Muddy Ruel said he always had trouble with Carl Mazes pitches because he really couldn't tell always where they were going. They took unusual shoots and turns And chairman like to crowd the plate, but he rarely was hit by a pitch. In fact, A baseball book came out that day with how to play baseball, and Chapman was used as the ideal batting stance at the plate. But anyway, for some reason on this pitch, Chapman pros he did not move balls coming to his head, and it hit him with such force in the side of the head. You know, his temple left side the ball There was a loud crack and the ball actually. Rebounded out to the pictures. Now mice fielded it and thinking it was a bunch. He turned and threw the first base where Wally Pipp first baseman caught the ball. Got ready to throw it around the infield. Look toward the plate, and he saw that Chapman was sinking to the ground and blood coming out of his head. And Of your medical help, was immediately called to the scene. They used ice on the Chapmans. Go ahead..

"Question one of the results thus far. If you were an NFL player, would you take this season off? No. Still a 50 50 split. And people forget their sports history. I keep after having to repeat this. The Yankees used to have a good first baseman. His name was Wally Pipp. Back in the 19 twenties, while he picked one of the day off, So they said we could take the day off. We've got this kid from Columbia University. His name is Lou Garrick. That was it for while he pip. I don't know if he had done upon the Philadelphia athletics of this for the ST Louis Browns or somebody else, but that was that He never came back in the lineup. So I always remember days like that. You know, that's why I don't take too many days. I remember that day in the 19 twenties. I remember reading about that. I remember hearing about that all the time. They might. My father and my uncle always used to tell me these old sports stories They also told me about about you know, you can lean in too much when you're a bap. Like a guy named Ray Chapman. Did you know what happened to Ray Chapman Taylor? Why did you fall off of his horse or something? I don't know. Back in those days. They didn't have helmets. So he got beamed right on his head, and he dropped down. He was dead meat that he died, fractured his skull and kill them to find that out. When FDR went on TV in 1929 No Not Joe Biden. This happened in 1919. I believe I think he played for the Washington Senators. TV was still in its infancy. Then anyway, so one thing that Grace forgot to mention In a hate mail Monday was that that a couple of people were tweeting about my appearance on Tucker Carlson on Thursday night. And they started out the real story here is that how we car went two minutes without saying the word hack or plugging the 57th book about Whitey Bulger. He's crapped out. I beg your pardon? I didn't come here to be made sport of. So a guy response to him. Hunkers guests parroting Carlson by mispronouncing lemons named Don Limone. Essentially accuses the CNN host of being an alcoholic. I said I've watched him One. New Year's Eve on CNN. And I think that although he doesn't know the difference between a rhino in a hippo in profile, I think if you talk, I think if you gave him the glasses behind the bar, a shot glass You know, a pint glass A rocks. Glass? Ah, Wine goblet. Aah! Champagne Flute. I said, I think he could get those glasses. Get those profiles. And he says he'd love to take see Lemon Lamone take a field sobriety test. I mention that because the cognitive tests I looked at it. I've taken the cognitive tests of matter of fact, and there's there's a something's in the cognitive tests that are in the field sobriety test, like counting backwards. And I would love to see Mr Crime of crisis. Count backwards from 100 Vice by seventh or I'd also love to see him even more. So I think I'd love to see him recite the alphabet backwards. Because I've read a lot of police reports in your average. Massachusetts State Senator Just to put it in perspective can't much when he's reciting the alphabet backwards can't get much beyond the A. T or an S. And yet your fears. Cal. Any All right. 844 542 42 trumps taken questions. Let's think fuckwit. Let's take a little bit of any of the peoples and people, including doctors, Many doctors think it is extremely successful. The hydroxy Clara Quinn. Ah, coupled with the sink, and perhaps the Is it through my sin, But many doctors think it's extremely good. And some people don't some people. I think it's become very political. I happen to be talking about manual 10.

"He's constantly hurt Brendan cooks, You know I like him as a football player, but he suffered five concussions since his career started. And you look at will Fuller, who was a good player, but he's always banged up the health of that team with the guys that they're gambling on. If a few of these guys get hurt, and this is a team that I think should win the division, it could get ugly, quick. I think the other thing that I worry about that. They traded 1/3 round pick for Duke Johnson last year and then barely used him as a receiver. So they double down by bringing in a guy who's really David job on Lee still effective as a receiver, you know, Faras lining up behind the quarterback and running is the 1st 2nd out back. He hasn't really shown a willingness and desire to break tackles the way he did back in 2016. And you're exactly right. Those guys were all getting up there in years. Right before we let you run. I've got a few more for Seth pain. When we get to the NFL for this upcoming season over the weekend, it looked very ugly. Today. It seems like they figured out some of the testing and there's going to be no preseason games. Where's your confidence that training camps going to start on time next week and the seasons also going to start on time? OK, training camp Starting on time. I almost don't care at this point, just as long as they eventually all get their allegations like your You having a barbecue? And you just say As long as everybody shows up, eventually everything I looked, the testing results So far in basketball have been really good. I mean, they just had zero positive that last round of testing. Baseball is the one I'm watching more closely because those guys are in a bubble. You know the way the NFL isn't so far, Those involved have been pretty promising. I think it's gonna work out. I've maybe I'm irrationally optimistic about this with one thing after Remember, is that all these players Unlike you know, younger guys or high school kids or anything. All these guys have a financial incentive to stay the hell away from people when they're away from the facility, you know, like nobody wants to get Wally Pipp. Because of Corona virus, and nobody wants to miss out incentives in the contractor just flat out Miss Football games, So I think that you know, based on what we've seen in baseball so far. In his long and now they're going to be testing every single day and hopefully the response time the turn around. I'm going to get a lot better. I think there will be some ugliness in certain spots. But for the most part, I'm relatively optimistic. We're gonna make it through this thing. As a plan in the training camps completely different from even when you played as a player with no preseason games, and we know that's been even a trend that's been fading away in recent years of players actually playing like legit pliers in preseason games. How much time do you think you need to get ready for the season? How many weeks of training camp? Oh, boy, You're exactly right in terms of The veteran versus the younger players. The younger players need a lot of times. I mean, really young. Younger players need about 45 more weeks through the end of training camp before they're really ready. Oh, that's going to be tough on the older players you really need If you get a couple of weeks of good work in Europe veteran in the league you can play but we know in the NFL now, man, a lot of young guys play. So I I'm guessing it's going to be a pretty sloppy version of football's first couple of weeks, at least, and the thing I worry about in the guys I would worry about are just these younger players. You know, with the Texans here in Houston, we had a running Foster, who's a Undrafted rookie free agent ends up being just an incredible football player. You wonder how many of these guys who who by the way if they don't make the team this year? It's not like they got a whole lot of money rolling in there. There's gonna be some guys and miss out on opportunities, and maybe they'll figure out ways to make that up next spring or in the fall in some kind of substitute league. I'm open to just about anything at this moment. Last one for yourself Pain to get back to the Bill O'Brien conversation. Do you think it's fair to say when I look back at it that Bill O'Brien wants the win? But as a head coach and the general manager, he doesn't know how to win. Oh, yeah, I think this book This is like when you were I don't know. Let's say when you're 15 years old, you're a virgin and you want for the woman. Nobody doubted your entire but you didn't know how to get it, You know, And that's that's Bill O'Brien right now. What an analysis. All right, I do have a desire set paid to get you back on the show once again soon over up against thanks so much for coming on. I think what a lie that the I never thought about it that way. But there we go. All right. There's something good stuff assemble to the closing bell. Next. It's good enough to get in. Here's Bobbie, You slur. "There are great to me and always. You know, you've got to give back to the fans. The fans are the ones that basically or the heroes of this game. You know, I live my fantasy. I did something. What I wanted to dio. I lived a dream. I put the Yankee pinstripes on. You know, you know, Mickey Mantle was my favorite. I got to know him real well got to know Joe DiMaggio. Not to me that all of these people it was wonderful. I live my fantasy. And now after my baseball years are over with, you know, I get to meet my fans. The fans, you know, used to Bhumi and cheer May it was It's great, but now I get to talk to him. And have fun with these people and their wonderful in my handbook and or the best people that Twitter fans are great. All my all My friends are great. I mean, it's wonderful having a breakdown. So, Ronnie, one of the things you tweeted out today was he was an article. I guess it was you or that you were the 11 overall. First round first picked by the Yankees of 67. So the article you wrote that you posted today is that from the day you came to sign, and you worked out with the Yankees at the stadium? Is that what it is that what I did? Yes. Yes, 1967. I was 17 years old. Got drafted number one in the country and 67 at that, Tom, I'm never gonna forget Had my mom and dad. We flew up on a Piemonte Airlines from Atlanta, Georgia. My parents had not enough money to take me on an airplane before so they flow us up into New York. They picked us up in a taxi cab, a big taxicab and it was I never will forget the taxi cab driver. His name was Bernstein and I looked at my mom and dad. Hey, he's all he. He's one of us. This is wonderful, and my parents always said there's eight million Jews up there and, you know, I mean, there's never been any Jewish ballplayers. Yankees never had a Jewish ballplayer before shined up here went up, got my first interview. My first interview was with Ah, Walter Cronkite was up in the press box with Bill White Frank, Master of Phil Rizzuto. That was about 3000 people that the stadium there was nobody there, but that night. It was great. We went to a place. I had no idea what it was. It was a place called church chores. They took me to church shores and right next to us. Right next to us. They happen to see this right? Nick and my mother looked at. My father said you know that it was Frank's Frankston. Doctor, I I've never even heard of them before. But you're so used to the temptations in the four tops those people that I used to know what you mean. Your mom. Probably your motherly healed over. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He came over to it. Shook our hands. He was wonderful to us, and they're not me. It was great. And then they took us way to second And then they took us to Ah Ah Fiddler on the roof and that on the first row And it was zero ma scale remembered. It was zero myself and we went back in the back there really any meadows and he's you know, he was so happy. So very good night. That's a Oh, It was great. I was making mail. Frank Sinatra zero must tell all in one night's, though. Yeah, good. You should have held out for more money. They wouldn't give you extra $5 back then, you know? But it was It was great. Let me tell you I had so much fun and we're not come up to New York. Now it's it's underway before until Tio Eddie's point earlier, Ronnie, you say you were. You're probably more suited to today's game. If you take I mean, the injuries obviously were a big part of what we're talking about how your career was eight years long. But, um, you in 73 you're you're hitting for 100 in late June as a part time player, Ralf Falcons batting, you know, strictly against right handers because you were had struggled against lefties, but and you know your career numbers if you would stay healthy. This is you know your career numbers against right handed pitching. 304 average, 3 67 on based on a 500 slug. And this isn't about 1300 plated parents is if you had stayed healthy, you could have had a very long career as a as a lefty bat off the bench Designated hitter part time player. Whatever it was you crushed, right handed pitching. Well, you know what? Let me tell you something when they drafted me number one, OK after his left end of pictures I always did. And then for some reason, but some reason I got the Triple Eight. Because I hit left handers when I was an able and double A when I went up Triple A to Syracuse, unfortunately, had a manager. They love to play older guys. And, you know, I mean, I'm not taking anything away from anybody. I've never said a word to anybody. And they said no, he couldn't have left handers. Sunday. I go to the big leagues and Ralph out, sat me down and he said We're going to play against right handers and some lefthanders, okay? So he never you know when I was hitting ball? Well, I had a long game. I think I had, like 22 23 game hitting streak, and then all the writers That year, when I was in the ball crushing the ball. All the writers came down and said, Why don't you play this guy against left handed? Well, because he's young, and we don't wantto do this, and we don't want to do that. And whatever, but I never said a word, You know? Let me tell you something. You know I wasn't one of these guys in our day we couldn't say played me a trade me. If they get rid of you, you're gone. If they send you down to the mine elite, you'd be like Wally Pipp. There's no way in the world. You won't come on back and play And, you know, I mean, it was when you had a one year contract, You know, I mean, we don't have any leverage. We don't have a 45 year deal where we could be on the disabled list for three years and still make ourselves $25 million. You know, in 73 gay Paul, who's GM gave me a $500 The next year and 74 they took my $500 back..

S. B. U. Bluetooth speakers as well the LA do all that but the ones I have are just hard wire so it's very nice yeah that's a that's a nice a combination yeah so here's my dilemma I was watching a movie the other day and ex and on the credits it said stereo mix by when I went all know it's they gonna hire a guide you do a stereo mix all use around so I used or taken over the next thing I know you're you're going to you're going to cut me out somebody for doing a stereo mics stereo mics that's fantastic so I kind of I I think this is a good thing so you're right most movies now and are mixed in five point one or seven point one there and Dolby there and coated and that's because people with fancy home theaters might have all of those speakers you know six seven eight speakers but most people don't and often I get one of the calls I get a lot is I can't understand dialogue in a movie because when it's mixed that way the assumption is you have a center channel dedicated to Dialogus speaker just for voice and when it's done that way you do have the proper speakers you can understand the dialogue but when you mix that whole thing down to just one or two speakers often the music the sound effects are so much louder than the dialogue you can't make out what anybody's saying so I think this is a response to that in effect I think this is something new not something yeah I don't think this is a a a a a tip as a beginning of the end for old stereo mixes I think this is something new that they haven't actually do it yeah I think for a while there was this brief period of time where everything was five one and and and it wasn't a good thing for people didn't have all those speakers so I hope I hope this is a trend in the positive direction now you know we have a lot of listeners in Hollywood so if you're in Hollywood and you're making movies are making TV shows be aware of this not everybody has that fancy Dan system you've got in your house or your studio remixing area at bay most people don't have multiple speakers so give us a like eggs there was a time when when stereo and in movie theater was actually three channel on the right the card would go along he was channel up right for a long time I had this argument Scott will concern because I only had two speakers and I love that too nice bike you too nice speakers on my TV and I loved it but it did get harder and harder here dialogue and other things were going on in now you know Scott says we need the upward firing at most speakers to I don't want that so in a way let's say thank you that they're considering.
