"We. This is a final thoughts. Okay my final thought is. Because i don't know how much we got into it. But the fact that the gold glove award show was blasted out on the day that we have the presidential election. I i'm not sure how much time we spent on that. We didn't beginning of this podcast. I mean come on. You cannot tell me right here right now that were actively trying to grow the game of baseball and that were paying attention to what's going on and pull that shit. You're going to acknowledge your games. Best defensive players and best defensive efforts throughout the season and instead of giving them a stage all their own a stage all your as a sport you decide to run it simultaneously with the president with the most divisive presidential election of our time. That's when you're going to run this product out there. Who are you kidding. Who do you think you're fooling when you tell people you care about this game when you tell people you are concerned and the growth it matters. Who do you think is buying into that. Bullshit rob manfred. You had the opportunity to have it all to yourself. But but you didn't. You chose not to now is not just not paying attention. Is that the people in the room with you. Not paying attention. Because i feel like that's a fuck up that you almost have to practice. You have to work at fucking something like that like. That's not just an accident. There's calendars we know the twenty twenty one schedule. We do the. When do we know the twenty one scheduled the end of two weeks into the first season. So what what's going on here. What's going on here. And it was brought to my attention on twitter. And it's a great point. And i forgetting the individual's name who brought it up But they said they they they made the will ohman who it was at the wheel omen taking a a page out of my book. The socializing losses privatizing gains. Nobody watches the gold glove award. Show then guess what nobody gives a shit about it and if nobody cares about it and the significance starts to wane well then having that in the contractual language for compensation for players kind of goes away to so now me get paid for winning that gold glove. That's no longer a thing. Why because nobody's watching your gold glove awards show anyway. Nobody really cares about that dallas. Well yeah you want to know why they don't care 'cause you run on the same day as the election. Are you fucking kidding. You spent just swallow that and be like oh yeah super big mistake there on major league. Baseball's part nothing to see here. Nope just another effort to drive down player value and increase the profit for the owners. It's a sad sad sad sad state of affairs when the individual who is charged with governing. The sport fucking hates it. Yeah i don't give a fuck about the gold glove. I really don't. I haven't ever since they gave it to rafael palmeiro as a first baseman when he was a d. h. and then they gave the gold glove to derrick jeeter when he was statistically the worst defensive shortstop since they started a measuring defensive runs saved. And and nobody's no. Nobody's arguing with you on that. Nobody at all. But if you heard what. I just said about players getting paid compensated for winning those awards. Then you don't get to just ignore. Well that's what. I said months ago when or not months ago but weeks ago and they started talking about gold glove awards and i was like the only people that should get upset about the results of the gold glove. Awards are the players that have bonuses and their contracts that they get like twenty five k if they win the gold glove award. If you're a fan and you're mad that your favorite player to win the gold glove award when you feel like they deserved it. I mean the gold glove award has not recognize the best defensive player at each position. In fucking like two decades. Like it's not. It's not an accurate representation of the best defensive player at each position. The only people that should be upset about it into your point are the players who have bonus structures. Were they get broken off. Fifty grand twenty five grand for winning a gold glove award and now they didn't win it and it's like well fuck i. I was the best defensive player at that position. And some other fucking guy got it just because you're trying to sell more gloves it's stupid but and how about this so this. This is where the award young we already know. How big shit storm valuing defensive. Play is how difficult those metrics are to try to sift through. So you're trying to figure out a way to identify good quality defensive players and in the same breath you are taking away the importance of acknowledging that very effort that you're looking to identify. How do you do that. How do you do those two things and think that anybody can look at that and think you're trying to promote the game baseball but let me guess. Each one of these gold glove winners. They gotta do a better of promoting themselves right now. That's what should have happened right. One lasts update before we get out of here The red sox flew to puerto rico to me.

"To a park and just tried to throw people like a g a little more difficult than than a playoff game for me just mentally. So i'm big into like making it feel as big as you can and whatnot so i just enjoy the playoffs man. I have so much fun plan in those games and our team. The energy is just so different Any any team that's been passed out different that it feels but i think most of our guys kind of embrace that and we just have a lot of fun man and i think as far as the relationship with you encouraged goes was there an and this is beautiful that you talk about motivating yourself creating the moment fucking fire yourself up. Was there ever a moment that you thought to yourself. You know what sure. He's the older brother. I'm the little brother the younger brother in this relationship. But right now the the naysayers are the bully on the playground. And i'm coming to kick some ass now. I'm tired of hearing this shit that we can't get it done for him that he fought that balls in my hand. Let's go. was there ever like putting him on your back or taking him out there with you. Kind of feeling now clayton's about something that you need to do that. I don't think you know what i mean. I was so happy to see the kind of the run. He made this year in the playoffs and a lot of the a lot of the critiques of him. In the playoffs are so so unfounded. If you really dive what he's done and had two days three literally wrote a blog about just wrote the wrote them for a long time and that's the way the game has been played. You watch boss and bring all their starters back would've voted in that game. Three things like that like that happens in the playoffs but at the end of the day. Like if you look at his first start on normal wrestling. He's always good. He's still clayton kershaw and he's still been really really good. It just so happens that he had to try to be superman all the time for a lot of years and i think this year. We had a couple of guys that were able to do that. Julio step does for huge upfront site never seen anything like it. You know so. I don't think clayton had to be that. I'll editor who's be clayton kershaw. And he certainly was a i. Don't think a team has won the world series at home since i believe twenty thirteen You guys clinch in the like the brand new ballpark. It's in taxes. You're not playing texas but like did you guys almost take like the. Hey we're just gonna launch us on the road type deal because they allowed eleven thousand fans in there and most of them are dodger fan so it's almost like you did clinch the world series on the road. Because when you get a clincher your your home fans are gonna fly to wherever that is that they can actually see it like. What did it feel like to clinch in a neutral site but also still have a bunch of your fans there. I thought it was really cool. There brought fans and to be honest with you. It was nice to have that kind of energy back in there. a little bit I will say the atlanta fans are now they got on pretty good but you know what man we we were there for a month. Whatever it was so we didn't have to change locker rooms. We didn't change anything hotel like our days were pretty similar and they felt pretty at home to us. You know. so you know dodger stadium and it wasn't fifty thousand of our fans but for us inside the club. All's we had moved our cleats out of that locker in you know so. We've i think we felt pretty at home. And i'm not gonna say. I ever wanna do it again. But but i think the neutral site thing was wasn't as bad as it could have been. Do you like it though. Like do you like like the. Because i i know scott. Boris was the guy that had the idea originally where he was like. They should do this every year. Like even before the pandemic like make it like a world series week almost like a super bowl. Feel where you can go and celebrate the game of baseball and it's played at a neutral sites that fans of all teams can go there. Do you like that idea i. I'm not crazy about it. Oh i think i think can be done well. I don't think that that's kind of how our game is played. I know. I like the two three two the travel day. You kinda get to go home and take a break like the these games from the wild card on our so mentally different than anything that that normal baseball is ever gonna feel like so you know. Obviously i can put myself in the shoes of like an nfl player nba. Because i just don't know but mentally. You are so much more drained from those games even when you're not playing even when not pitching so you know i think i think that's a two sided coin that right like you can stay at one place and never leave and then you never have to travel but i think having those off days in there is is something.

"Wrong move to make in the moment like none of us had the benefit of hindsight before we determined that decision to be absolutely catastrophic. None of us but you know what he had direct. He had the benefit of wisdom from a big league career jeered. That's what he had. He had the benefit of wisdom having been around the game for as long as he's been around the game he had the benefit of all that and that did not win out on the day. That sucks that's heartbreaking. So what's really ironic about is you're going to have a guy or you have a guy who was fired by his organization for conceivably not being the leader that the team needed and here. He is up for the award. That would acknowledge him as the best leader of a team in the league. And then you have another guy who his decision making got his team to exactly where they were and conversely his decision making is exactly what cost them right the ring or potentially but you know jerks something ask you ask me down but i wanted you know who i fucking. Preseason pick was for manager of the year. You know who's gonna end up winning manager of the year you know who's gonna look like an idiot even though he was right me because i picked kevin cash to be manager of the year. Am i going to be correct. Yes i am is. Is that going to be the correct decision. No because manager of the year should be voted on after the fucking world series. And if it's voted on after the world series. Do you think that kevin cash is winning that award. No he's not. I am the correct idiot in this old on. Well then right here right now right here right now you have a choice to make today is where you draw the line in the sand. Today's where we make a stand. I will say this even as a man who gets to celebrate the only three time manager of the year. Jesus call rice down now. I am not from this moment on. I am boycotting the manager of the year award until they allow athletes to occur after the postseason boycotting the manager award. Let's let's say it was conducted after the world series. Who are you voting for. I'm honestly voting for dusty baker. I am i was there. And that's i mean if you're if you're throwing that in there because look and that's the drum that i was beating all year long. I said at the beginning. I said this is the most important off to hell with garrett cole and his half a billion dollars this is the most plo. This is the most important postseason offseason acquisition that was going to be made and it was because of what dusty did all season what they should do. Rose took the bullets now. He pointed the arrows at himself. He this is what they should do. They should do it twice. They should do it to take. I think they should vote on manager of the year before the postseason and that final they should. They should vote on the manager of the year before the postseason and those votes count as two points and then they should vote on it again after the world series in that counts as one point. Well see i was gonna say like like the all star game for players. It's sort of acknowledging the guys who have had a really good run to get things going. How 'bout at that point in time we take stock of some managers that have been doing well. Maybe they've made some decisions. Maybe them being involved in the game has really shown up in some way and we identify those guys. And now you've got you know we're kind of paying attention to a group and then from that group who makes it into the postseason. That's the group that you can start to really evaluate. Because i think even if you don't allow the voting to occur until after the postseason you're still probably going to skew heavily towards somebody who's in that postseason and probably somebody who's hanging around towards the end of that postseason so while today are votes are cast for dusty baker under that premise. If we actually see it play out and given cash does it make the decision. He made is dusty baker. Still your answer. probably not. yeah. I agree with that. I think that that one decision which isn't even it should not. Even one hundred percent be attributed to kevin cash like they're talking about this on mlb network and it'll never happen. But i i get the sentiment. And i like it. Where if you're going to be calling shit like that from upstairs don't have kevin caspi hung out to dry for like these postgame press conferences right like yeah like have like the executive like is how jim joyce perfect example. Jim joyce umpires. Don't have to meet with the media. But jim joyce met with the media after he blew the garage perfect game. He's like you know what a man that's on me. I'll fucking answer your questions. Whatever fucking nerd upstairs that was like you know what if we don't want them to see the lineup. Three times doesn't matter. How many pitches like that's coming from me. You go get him you go pull him you fucking face the music but then the counter that is we hired kevin cash like part of the job of being the manager is you gotta face the music for the organization not just not just for you and your thoughts and your decisions you got to face the music for everyone because the nerd upstairs with the calculator these. He's a little nervous he doesn't like to. he's not a big public speaker as well as more of a crunch in the numbers guy. You're the guy who's part of your job. Description is.

"Yep but it was Second on that list sears. You're still voting a brave american league. Mvp even if i swap out. Jose ramirez and put shane bieber in. There is a is a top three candidate. I think. I think if i really really really really crunch the numbers i might come out on that side too but i don't think so on the surface on the surface you're telling yourself this is a dude who made beeps make eleven twelve starts like a fifth of the fucking start like anyone ever game dinner every game. The indians had a chance to win every single game. He started plus which doesn't count. But in this again and i hate the the qualifier but it matters in this season you had a guy. Go out there and give you chance to win. Every single start he made you would die for a guy like that over thirty three starts in a season and not only did he give you a chance. He damn near the one thing he lost. I think the indians lost two games that he started and they were both like seven innings to runs or whatever it was either start he had he had no stinkers in those twelve starts out of the finalists that i'm giving here. Jose abreu gets my the most valuable player. Both of them and those winners will be announced on november twelfth thursday. In check that out and we'll be network then the cy young conversation. Shane bieber unanimous national league. Trevor bauer yu. Darvish jacob degrom. Let's not let's not sleep on the fact how about the dodgers. The dodgers are world series. Champions. the dodgers parted ways with two out of three. Cy young finalist in the american league. Wait what yeah. Yeah were you. The and the dodgers won the world series. They said no thanks. We're good to pictures. That are going to finish in the finals for cy young voting. We're good we don't need them. We've got other guys just. That's just a little. It's just a fun. Little like who shit you know. I think you look at those. No disrespect. Of course. I mean i think kanter my head a fucking year hundred review. How many times was that name mentioned on this. Podcast and zero. Like the fact the fact that he had a. let's call it third place. Finish for american league cy young. We didn't even notice just goes to show you how dominant shane. Bieber was like a weekly fucking segment on the podcast. And by his third start by his third start it was already an open and shut case that this guy is gonna win. The cy young and i had moved on as right. He's got the cy young let's talk. Mvp and yeah because they're ridiculous outings back to back to back you're like holy shit. Because he was breaking major league. Strikeout records every start. It was like this is the most striking superstar strikeouts through five starts most strikeouts through six stars and yeah then start breaking off the record books like that. That's when you put the cy young on the back burner that's already wrapped up now. You're gonna start talking. Mvp i i still. I'm not really sold. I mean i get. I get it. Jose ramirez fucking best wins over place in baseball share. Whatever no yes or rumors. Jose ramirez best ones replacement in baseball. Awesome fantastic you watch those fucking games like even india's fans will tell you. Yeah yeah. I mean like our team. Mvp was shane bieber. If if there's three finalists here bieber should have been the guy over jose ramirez. I don't care what is war was. Yeah i again like the point. I'm trying to make though with the american league. Cy young race is that it's going to be unanimous and the fact that there wasn't even like a finalist in there that was in a regular topic of conversation kind of weak. This kind of is a week a week class. It's not see that's just it was class. It's not a week. It's the in the winter in the class is just. I don't know it's a week. I'm not saying that. Like shane bieber is winning on a technicality. Of course. I'm not saying that. I'm saying that cantona had a great year but like when he was starting in the playoffs. Oh baby can't wait for this to my start. He's been a fucking aced like no one. No one felt that way. Besides maybe twins fans no. But that's what that's what this season gives you. That's what this season gave. You is the numbers and the production are what you're looking at right now. So you weren't given the opportunity to fall in love with a signature game from my asia where he punched out sixteen. And you were like you remember when you darvish and trevor. Bauer faced off against each other at wrigley. It was towards the end of the year. You were lying. Fuck strap in like this has cy. Young implications buckle up. Let go in the last week of the season if the twins played the indians and it was bieber. Verse majeida like. I'm not circling that. As like i was way more jacked up for giolito versus bieber than i ever would have been for my versus bieber. Well so that you're biased. Kicking in right there. I mean like fucking giolito throw no inter this year you and lick dominant. He wasn't the playoffs right. So i'll tell you right now to my aid is starting today..

"I Dallas you do. You don't have the balls. Do you have the balls to say that. Freddie freeman wins the national league mvp award unanimously. You don't have a boss. I don't have the balls to say he wins. It unanimously and and. That's not. I mean and i honestly. I don't know that i even have a really good reason as to why because a mookie betts. Well then that's exactly what i'm saying. It's because of mookie. Betts is because of movie and doing what he did and now. And that's why i talk about the voting because nobody knew that mookie betts was going to be the peace that actually got the dodgers over the hump and won their world series. Is he that peace now because some of the production in the world series might tell you that he wasn't the the the over the hump factor. Maybe it was getting guys like clayton kershaw to do exactly what he did. Maybe it was getting the performances from earlier so the guy's like cedar doing what he did. Just turner being the guy that he's been. But mookie betts from start to finish made that team just that much better and he did it with the same type of production that you're used to seeing from him plus nine hundred zero. Pse hitting right around three hundred gonna pop you fifteen to twenty in this short season. He did absolutely everything you wanted. Mookie betts to do so while we will celebrate and acknowledge the ridiculous campaign of freddie freeman. It will not be a unanimous decision. Yeah i'm with you. I think but it could be i it very well you tell me freddie and yeah yeah yeah yeah. I agree with that if if you tell me. Freddie freeman wins the nationally p. award in its unanimous. Be like yeah. No that makes sense. But if you tell me mookie betts got some some first place votes mike. Okay i get it. But he was the best player on the best team in baseball. Like if that's your interpretation of what most valuable means than sure. Go right ahead and also. I want to be surprised if if there were some. Random manny machado. First place votes. Because it's like well. The padres weren't the best team in the league. They weren't the best team in baseball. They weren't the best team in their own division. But the padres were. You could argue that without manny's production though that they don't make anywhere near ways and so again placing a definition or the value on that v. What does that v mean to you. How long have been saying that all every year. What is v. media so for the padres. Manny was as valuable as it as it could have gotten for them Mookie for the dodgers important. The most valuable no. I don't believe so no. I was just a stack team. If you and. I think it was like the last episode. I said if you take bets the dodgers they still win the world series. I believe the answer is yes. Is that like a slam dunk definitive like no doubter. Put a bullet in my brain. If i'm wrong. No but i i just believe that. The dodgers were good enough to have won the world series. without mugabe's. they were that good. They were that well rounded there that deep. but yeah so we're okay with We're okay with crowning freddie freeman as your national league did you. Are you agreeing with me. On jose abreu in the american league. Yes well yeah. I want trust me i i wanted to. I mean beeps. Obviously out of the conversation is not even a fucking finalists. Understand that i. I really would love for that to have been. It should have been. I mean that that was my pick. I still think that that's the correct pick. Honestly like i don't like i'm fine with it because he's going to unanimously. Win the cy young award. But i think if you're a unanimous cy young award winner like agree or disagree. Shane bieber was more valuable to the indians than jose ramirez. Okay so if if shane bieber the pitcher talking yeah well. I mean i also. I think that that's a fact. Shane bieber was more important. More valuable to the indians than jose ramirez regardless of the wins above replacement. Whatever so if if that's the final three if it is. Jose abrego dj. Lemay hugh shane bieber as the three finalist in the american league who is the. Mvp out of those three. It's still jose abreu you think so. I think it's still jose abreu and that's just. There's no way that that offense does what they were able to do without him. Right in the middle of it. I just don't see it happening. I just don't because the guys behind him. You know the the utilize in the in the roberts the moncada's ahead of them. Those guys are the ones who are going to be attacked. Those are the ones that they're gonna rather pick their poison with as opposed to you so in that kind of lineup when you're the guy that's going to be pitched around or maybe not give as many opportunities and you're doing the damage. It's it's nowhere near the barry bonds effect. But that's kind of what i'm getting at is that this is the guy that you just do not wanna let beat you ultimately and you're picking him well. He's done that. He's beaten you even when you didn't want him to and that kind of production protects and allows for those younger guys to kind of come into their own and make their mistakes if it's going to be that but ultimately know that. Hey we've got a guy that can actually carry that. Would he hit three sixty three seventy three single now. Am i off tim. Anderson was like up there with like three five. I don't. I don't think anyone came close to flirting with four hundred in the aol. Mayhew history. sixty four. Yeah and then no one else in. The american league was close particular close or not not for the main but yeah i think i think you is tim. Anderson hit three.

"Best. John doesn't matter short season. We'll talk about that too. Because i got asked this question last night about the national national league cy young award someone said what. No max read is a finalist and you got the graham in there. How do you feel about that. I was like hey listen. I said this during the season. I said this way way way before the finalists came out. Yeah you miss time. That's it in a sixty game season that's gonna cost. You like people are going to pass you by if you're if you're on the injured list and you miss a start here you miss a start there so yeah. I have no problem with that. It is in a sixty game set missing missing a start or missing to starts out of the twelve that you may have made eleven or twelve. That's a big deal you like. You made twenty eight starts out of the thirty three you could have potentially made. That's not what we're talking about here. So yes it's almost like a prerequisite to even being available to win. These awards is making each start. If you're a pitch and then you kind of go from there obviously production's going to start taking care of itself but shit like this is exactly. Why like you said you get fired up about award season because you almost are taking issue with how you're deciding who are going to be the people that i get to choose from or the people that we get to choose from that performed the best. It's the process that you get fired up about more so than the actual into result unless it's just an absolutely egregious decision and you're like skews me stopping. Also free agency is underway. We've had some options decline. Some some gentlemen are free agents that perhaps you did not expect them to be free agents this offseason news knowing that we've we've got some. We've got some names. Go down and i don't know that we're going to place them just yet because it's going to be a weird off. It's going to be a weirdo seized in terms of like who spending teams that you would expect to spend. They're not spending. Who's going to take advantage of a wide open market because you know you've got the small market teams that are going to be small market teams. You've got the middle of the pack teams. Where i guess that all depends on. Do we think we can compete in the future. If we're going to spend some money right now then you've got your big market teams. Where some of them are going to play broke. They're going to site cova in and the financial losses of twenty twenty and forecasting losses. Because right now we don't know we don't know if there's going to be fans coming back. Yes we had fans at the world series. But that's in texas texas thinks that it's its own country so you can't you can't say well they had fans in texas and it'd be like well that's that means for sure that they're going to have fans in california and wherever else new york like. That's just not how that goes. It's not a league thing. It's a state shirt is sure you know jerry. That's you just get to pick your science. That's what this world is all about today. Like you pick your state you get to pick your science tune so whether or not that state believes that site you. It doesn't matter so it's not. It's all objective. It's however you view right so with with the covid situation. We don't know what attendance is going to look like. You could have these ballparks. We're we're open to one hundred percent capacity and then you know thirty percent capacity shows up because people don't wanna fucking risk covert and who knows what it's going to look like four or five months from now we don't know so that factors free agency if teams are forecasting even more losses moving forward. So also we don't know what the postseason looks like. We don't yeah that's the other thing too. It's like that's absurd. Things establish right now but is it or is it already established jared or is it already established and they just haven't made it public because you actually believe that teams are making these kinds of business decisions without any idea. What so ever what. The postseason looks like like sit back big of a deal to not have leaked like if there's a general understanding that we're gonna go to. Let's call it fourteen postseason teams because the two best records get a get a by or something. I feel like at least 'cause i remember when we were talking about like the labor negotiations and they were laying all these different scenarios. That shit was leaking every day. And what do we say we were like. We don't think that these are proposed plans. That are actually going to happen. Like these ideas are literally just some guy sitting at a table spitballing to a room like. Hey here's this idea. Hey here's that idea. And then those ideas were being reported as potential rock solid plans moving forward like everything was leaking there so you have to expose rose things to leak. If they're on the table you got to understand the time and place though and what was going on and what role. That information was playing at that time. That was cherry on top of the sunday. Every time you brought that up. That's just another topping on top of this for us to digest during a perceived labor negotiation before the cbi was actually occurring and that was the how many games are. We gonna play the the money situation. The covert situation. That's what that conversation was about. And that's where that got placed into that conversation as just another point of just another topic to talk about during this negotiation or whatever it is well now as we sit here today that is not the purpose and that is not the role that this information is playing in the game at this time. This is information that absolutely needs to be decided and should be decided and should be known so that teams can now do business according to not inform your business group on how they can approach things that seems like a horrible horrible way to go about business. So if i'm looking at these thirty owners or ownership groups thirty organizations. I find it really really tough to believe that they wake up each and every day today yesterday tomorrow not having any idea whatsoever what. The postseason format looks like next year. Because that would absolutely give them an of who they are as a club what they need to compete next year and how they could go about doing that how they could go about securing their position within their division within their leak all based on what we have and what that does for us competitive wise based on who they're letting into the postseason so for them to just not have that information that's laughable to me that is that's just not true. Yeah that's basically like i mean. Yeah we got a test on friday. What's it on figure it out. Don't know yeah remember. Remember these are the same. These are the same people who wanted you to just believe what they're telling you when it comes to revenue instead of showing you what it actually is. That's the same group of people the people who didn't want to open up their books and wanted you to just believe are the same people who are making these kinds of moves right now. Colton wong siu later but we just don't really know what the postseason is going to look like. We're not really sure right now. Fucking right let me ask you this question because i haven't asked you this yet..

"I played baseball. It's kind of like a normal like people getting nervous. That's a great way to describe it. It's like less club like last ability. You actually have then. The like nervousness actually isn't total a lot of nervousness it's how much it outweighs actually do it. And if you know and you just not gonna go you're nervous is going to be because you're gonna hit oral shopping. Yeah it's like it's like buying a house right. If i have a million dollar house and a half million dollars it's like oh i could just buy so. I'm all good but if you don't have that money you can only put a down payment. You're in debt. So you get in debt nervous wise i think for me explain it vegas five and i really appreciate that makes all the sense in the world at scream office since it's so true because i never wanna be with nervous ever again like i. I wanna about a million dollar house every time step on the box now paying cash in cash. it's all just a gigantic nervousness mortgage payment looming. I filed for chapter eleven bankruptcy. Twenty dollars. i. I've seen the tee box and i was like michael scott. I declare bankruptcy. And everyone's just like it's not. Oh where you have to hit the ball trent. When we went to troubadour trend couldn't get the golf ball on the tee. He was so nervous he literally couldn't get the gop on the it. Tell me how much did he was in. That's happened to me twice now. We did it at pinehurst. And then we did a troubadour. I'm always. I'm usually the first one to go and i couldn't get the damn ball and the l. Yeah had a good one but still. I'm fucking nervous. Because i i don't have any gulf ability. I have none of it. So i'm hoping for the best. We'll say at pinehurst. It was a little unfair because kisner knew that that was going to happen before you even tried to i five. He's like oh we can't get the ball in the tee. Trent and your key knew what he was doing. He's seen that programs before psychological warfare. I don't care where you base at right now in lexington. I'm still right now. But i spend. The offseason likes days going the breeders cup so i think we're heading down. I'll be there. I'll be a ambassador for the breeders cup so that happened. Because he's won the world series or was that prior. That's that's been a couple of years. That's where i met dave there two years ago. He's telling a story about it when the whole tight pants thing happened. I guess i like the breeders cup that i like when i him and sat down and i guess acted like he should have known who i was even though he was least things happened. And he's not the one like let that slide. He will let you know immediate one of my favorite stories ever marlins man comes running up to david he's like. Hey dave what are you hang on and turns around and puts the marlins had on it goes how about now and these like marlins. Okay mas man. What's up so he'll he'll tell you that right tuesday's but bring the Bring your guys closing apply country club..

"I think the guy that started remax i think built it basically for himself and now it's kind of up so we got to play there Really cool you play. Well i feel like people usually law and experience when they play well. Yeah that's where. I beat my bad. So that one's going to be my favorite course forever. Maybe i think i shot eighty three which not great. But it was good enough. That's pretty that's pretty fucking good. We just get unlike a nine or ten. So i should be better than i am but i. I've never broken eighty so it's a disaster on that on that part. Really jesus you probably around a bunch. Yeah yeah bacilli funniest thing. That's offset quarantine. We we have a little men's league at the country club on at home. And i've played this guy who was a college burlington professional guy he was like a minus two or scratch. Whatever it was and we play nine holes with stroke. So i got four strokes. He and i both went birdie-birdie off the job and up shooting thirty. I think it was thirty. Six net thirty two and he shot thirty three and softbank. You only played nine holes. Yeah you just play with the kind of your sub eighty. You're out if you play eighteen that day you shot. I usually do usually do when we play those men's ladies play eighteen before. Get my blood alcohol level at the right spot so then in the men's league i can really go the because yeah that like. That's almost like an emergency not always feels good for the emergency. Not exactly exactly what's up. That's your men's league so you. I understand to golf. You got you do You start at a golf charity event. That's done redan. Well yes the first year we did. It did for pediatric cancer research. I had an uncle that pass away. Hannah's the result of pediatric cancer. So he did. It did it that the first year and then last year we did for rituals charity. Which was really cool was called field. Jeans is the foundation. he's created. They lost a son to a rare genetic thing and so he's kind of you know put a lot of time and money in and himself in this in this foundation at trent help help people find out some more about that stuff so we raise one hundred thousand for his charity. I imagine a pretty big high right now. It's been good man. Obviously we're kind of excited to get that thing done and get out of the bubble but we've been enjoying it man it's It's one of the things that i think it's gonna take a while to kind of sink in but Trying to enjoy it for sure it'd thinking and on i'm curious do you have. Have you woken up a few days and just been like. Oh shit like i have. I think more than anything. It's the season's over. I think you got. Oh i don't have to go today or go the field you know. It was kind of weird. I think because we didn't do the full on celebration that it was kind of just like oh was over like you know it's it's to explain. Obviously it's one of those things that you've kinda build up your whole life. You know winning the world series and do all these things work and endure everything for it and then it happens and and we're kind of in just a different time so you can't really do all the things you thought you would do or whatnot so I was talking to.

I wish he saw it but if he was looking i definitely would have shaved. Dillard's all by god this idiot do league team and then some shot eighty four. This is amazing. I think my buddy started started. India pine valley which is really good but it was probably it was probably a number. It was a top three golf experience for me hundred percent. Yeah how's it gonna ask. Because i mean you know you're at old sandwich. You played a bunch of sick places your nhl guy with good money good connections like pine valley's always ranked number one in the work out of cypress and nobody does anything about so for you at playing it like what you think it's justified or do you understand why people ranking number one. Yeah it honestly. If we could have went through every single shot you remember those shots for a long time like every single shot unless you're completely sucking in spray in the ball obviously but like if you're hitting the ball relatively good every single shot is a really cool memorable shop they to like you hit up to a green that i guess used to be trees behind it but someone decided like years back. It'll be a cooler view if they took the trees out in a dead and it's an unbelievable right. It's so cool like there's so much thinking that went on into every single one of their holes in like like i always have a debate and we had Brock nelson american hero. You know all about him So i mean i mean brock. Brock is a big proponent of beating the flyers in the series this year but let me talk to you about what we had. This little argument about was views versus like golf course architecture and all that it's like i'm a big advocate for like pebble beach. You can't beat that golf course like it's on a fucking cliff in monterey peninsula Pine valley could like that's like a inland golf courses. You just need tree surrounded with it ton of money to put bunkering and crazy stuff but like you can't..

We're trying to find places that are open places that have available tee times places that have great rates are still courses in saint louis area that we played before. We're trying to figure out if they're good or not. You just click on the reviews. Boom they're gonna get someone to tell you i was out there. It's a the number of times. You here boy that's a tough one. It is because of WHO Justin Turner is and what he represents and how is going on feel without a mask others in at risk and he just basically said. There is essentially no playbook to learning in the seventh inning of a World Series game that your beloved teammate is covert positive. and. There's no way he wasn't gonNA to come out and celebrate. and. That will be an argument for Evermore and it will be a lot. Shall we say easier to swallow post pandemic. If again, this photograph that we're seeing on the screen of them, all being mask listened celebrating together that nobody gets it. And that nobody gets it in his hospitalized. Or even worse. So you know and he he also want to denigrate what the razor doing but. Tell you what? He Ain't coming. He's not coming out. "I would love it a pitcher. Basically tell the manager you sit you don't know do not. Which is what Mike Mussina did to? Joe Torry. Game was different back then. Just plus it's it's twenty years ago. You. Know I mean it's not like we're it's not like we're talking black and white here. Don't know. Those are also the kids now kind of grow up and young players are used to having this as part of their baseball experience their school, Minor Leagues, College. But wouldn't that be the equivalent of I guess I don't know. Guys who are pitching now, who would do that right? It's Justin verlander. It's Max Scherzer right? It's those types of players you've seen quarterbacks say don't we're not putting right Philip rivers. peyton manning. It's older guys who have earned it. Will Messina obviously was. Certain Guys Kim, pull that stunt. Not Everybody can but I'd love it. If Blake, Snell done no way. This is my this is my entire. Life right here. You know I've been dreaming of this. This is what he dreamt up in the backyard. And what a trip is a kid, this is why I lift all wakes. This is why when and did X. Y. and Z. I dunno snow spend a Lotta time in the minors but. I mean, it's not it's his legacy to. Yeah, he's now forever the guy who got taken out and his team lost the world. Series. And think again, we we are preceded by Dan's show here on peacock I heard his conversation with Michael Wilbon on the way in Dan's right. There's more outrage about Tony Larussa getting the job. In, CHICAGO. Then Aj hinch being brought off of the scrap heap of cheating. In Detroit and did you see the white sox announcing Larussa on twitter? had. A photograph of Larussa with the signet like whether it was kind of like one of those Know. Paintings or etchings or whatever that you see in in when you're buying a card or something, you're buying some sort of piece of memorabilia. It was a photograph of Larussa withdrawing and then the signature. Of Aj hinch was AJ hinch signature because they were also interviewing him and somebody made the fail. Of Putting hinch autograph out until it was taken down and now it's Larussa. Man Aj hinch was on this show and many times I loved our conversations could have been more disappointed about what I read in the report. With The commissioner. And the Tigers hired him. Yeah. It's official press conference later today, and I'll be interested when he's asked all the questions. As. He appeared anywhere. In an interview ever since losing his job and Houston haven't seen him to answer all the questions about what happened. and. You know my question, my one question would be. The commissioners report said. that. The television monitor that the astros used to steal signs. And then transfer that information to whoever banged the trash can. That you. Destroyed one of those monitors. Because you are dead set against this being done. And yet, it's still continued. So was your authority flouted. Or were you just upset because it was used one night? And the information that was related was in. Correct. And thus this system wasn't foolproof and it actually caused your team to lose and you were upset that night because he kept continuing on and if you were in charge wider, keep going on. If you were so upset, you're the one who has told you what in this report? That you destroyed the Monitor. were. You upset because you're authority was being flouted and if so why was it continued on or were you upset? that. You're authority was being flouted and the reason why did you bash the Monitor? Was it because? It actually didn't work one night. If Santiago wasn't did you also use it in the world series? That was one answer we didn't here either baseball never. Ever. came out and confirmed they said, it was use the postseason was it used in the world series? Did you use this method and the world series? Anybody asked to. And Imagine. So I would invite him to come on the show because he was one of those guys who answered every question every question. After you would hammer about the shift. He was still come on come back and so he was all he's all about the shift. Guys what I mean he's all about this shift like no way I'm giving up the shift, the numbers say X Y, and Z in. XYZ usually leads to no runs. No hits no errors. Right exactly. So. How boy? Crazy man I love the game to love baseball. So much I just wish we would be again my conversation with Walker Buehler that's coming up I just wish it would be all about you know the analytics part of it. Yes but. The fact that the everything ended the way that it did in according to Joe Kelley. Joe Kelley appeared on. E. I in Boston. Oh. According to Joe the person who informed. Joe In the bullpen about Justin Turner Cova positive test was our next guest. Appeared in the bullpen in the eighth inning. Let them know. So there's a lot of talk about and also the fact that Walker Buehler's twitter account. Is. is in fact, has in Omar to Ferris Bueller as it should. So, there's. So, much happening, right. Eight, four, four, two, zero, four, rich is the number to dial here on the show Dan Laboratory will be joining us in our number three as well Hard, work, the actor and the will join us as well. Dodgers are mine is one ninety tonight which is four eight four eight they Kerr you get to Kerr shawl it be minus one ninety but Walker Buehler who by the way is a really good young pitcher but if that's more of a reflection of Vince Alaska's in Vegas giving no chance of last guys do anything tonight which means when it'll probably look great and will come in here tomorrow and people would be like see it's not as bad as we thought yeah now I I feel that I would feel like that I will not apply yeah you know why because the last night I'm expecting a four game sweep but it was one eight right they don't want no I don't jump as one flesh because the come out and throw seventy pitches in the first two meetings I like the like gave I like the team that does a lot of players on the team that I don't like that makes sense economic able to roll but there are many just kind of there because you just kind of there right now you know I mean I'm telling you it's it's a it's a team that doesn't really have a post right now New York for somebody man yeah need something this thing is it this is me trying to blow smoke this is a message on the sale is this is me just under this my mind said I'm just more or less like the season is a determined yet but I'm frustrated because it seems like the the organization as we go all in just one moment thrown their hands up on the season white men what does the nobody's expecting and trade their top three prospects to get these great players in the company transform the entire team right right but we also don't want to hear will we know who one player with the World Series make your team better yeah that's what I want to do yeah that that's that's the thing has got me mad at and I'm telling you I think it's the trickle down into the clubhouse and now the players are playing this way yep the players are planned this way like to really to play this way so why have we went a liability for that may have weighed two or early this did not make a trade though because what if you bring a guide to this environment you really think it's gonna make the difference if they go out and they add a picture like a fourth starter do we really believe that I tried to go to pay for that for starters going to save this team yes it's the problems not one player yeah but what's the price the the the the the price is is something of value every the picture go here's here's what I'm telling you if you're telling me on a no name picture no one's going to move the needle that guy coming in what's that gonna do then sure I'll tell you that's not going to move the needle what you're telling me our a top pictured becomes available in numbers forget about the salaries of testing these guys but a great hue or Madison Bumgarner if that was the caliber pitcher you're adding to this team don't tell me that's not going to lie to file your kid letter by year it can't because those guys with names like that these guys respect those guys around the clubhouse I mean we do a lot of going back and talking about the old Phillies teams or what have you when that two thousand nine season was going down the drain because the World Series MVP wasn't ready to pitch the following year they went on that cliff Lee and then how bout they went out and got Pedro Martinez it's all year and we're like what the hell does Pedro Martinez I've left in him it helps they don't get to the World Series without Pedro Martinez no I'm not to know he was he was huge what is your last yeah former great pitcher hat respect in that clubhouse that's what it did for those guys it gave them hoping gave them believe who's to say that will do the same have the same type of impact on these guys will they need something because I keep looking at this line up and I'm saying this is more about under achieving lined up then it is a talentless light up I'm not willing to believe I'm not buying this is a talentless line of what I'm talking about one through eight are they strongly all eight positions no are they the Dodgers no are there to Yankees no but they're better than this exactly yeah the pickings not that's the starting pitching is not this is the starting pitcher is the starting pitching but the but the everyday players they can do better I can do better in whatever door right now yeah I agree I agree good John from the great state of Delaware John how are you nobody has thanks for taking my call have rooms reasons I'm Hey I like first off real quick I I wanna talk about gay but I I do want to thank you I've had season tickets legal since eighty eight and you know I I don't call in very often but you know you always you and that team for the most part always gave effort and I think is as local of the fans that's probably part of the big right that we all have right now yeah I can look yeah I can live with trust me listen to me I can live with somebody's better than me what I can't live with that is I'm not given all my effort and and I think that's where we are you know what Gabe Kapler ought hi I was fed up with him after about the first week of its first I can it's nauseating criminalists insulin he sounds like a robot he's not a Philly guy I'm not saying we everybody has to be Sparky Anderson or Jim for go see or anything like that but when I listen to him talk in the postgame conference I want to put my finger down my throat and throw up wow just saying that I mean you guys he didn't lose the team he never had it there's a difference he's just not it's not a clubhouse guy maybe he's an executive well god bless them you know he's further in baseball than I would ever be but you know it he's just not a he he doesn't strike me as a as a manager I will buy I will buy the notion that he hasn't really had the club house ever I buy summit the proof is important right now I how by somebody I'll I'm not saying they they hate gays but you continue to get yeah you continue to get low energy listless performance is yeah and it doesn't open the back up and you'll see it but it does it doesn't last well only because the the law of averages a baseball means you're not gonna lose thirty straight games right right game so yeah there may be a game that you get a batch of what a pitcher who is in all his game either and this lineup can go and put some runs on the board or what have you you'll get a win but how many series wins are you putting together right how many times you wanted to out of three listen it it it's a long season and we're we're getting there right we get their take halfway through July we're getting there yeah and it it's getting to a point where trade deadline is what two weeks two weeks two weeks out exactly two weeks from today maybe will die later this week depending on how many more losses it's it it's going to get to its Saturday all maybe tomorrow the following day when you become sellers at the trade deadline Jack McCaffrey delta Delco times long time column this year in Delaware County great baseball man Jack he's on a trade resource kids thought rebuilding the team going to rebuild the team got a search right away some of these guys now I am not trading Reese Hoskins we don't make any money yet you would have to get I would treat anybody on this team but they but I also would need to be guaranteed of getting like prospects are prospects for a reason yeah right you want prospects yet when you try to cliff Lee because you needed to restock your farm system none of those guys panned out at all right not even close regulatory response and that's fine do you trust the GM in this front office evaluating town of guys are getting back now it's an easy answer no I'm not a tree one of the few players they hit on yeah okay Hey I never fell back let's check your some young players from other organizations you'd like thank you no thank you I will come back at eight seven two nine ninety four ninety four odd bagel guys in the news like they will guide you know the little guy from from Long Island that was screaming yelling and bagel shop the short guy so he's gonna be he's gonna be out all yes on a video yeah he's actually he signed up to what to do something with somebody we know you somehow find this into a a deal somewhere with what I would say a friend of ours all discuss eight eight eight seven did I ninety four ninety for Mason Phillies would like some early all season work doing the same thing yep fills back at tonight a win would be good but right now it just feels like a wind can be really really difficult we'll get back.

"Choice. So by the way, if they do trade Butler like you and I both think they're going to that becomes, you know, we keep saying the Lakers are going in to the playoffs this year. Maybe Denver going in as well who's coming out if they tread Butler. We have dancer because they were the last year. They're out name in one game against the warriors. They went out and five in the first round. Yeah, but that would they, they would be out. I mean, if you look at the may have been going out anyway, but now they'd be out for sure. Yes, somebody's gotta go and I think Denver may come into.

"He hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start since june the twentieth so he's done a pretty good run pretty good five run start and the as a reportedly looking for a young centerfielder in a deal for sunny gray now we do have a young centerfielder in alex verduga so would it make sense for the dodgers to move alex verduga in a deal for site gray thing for dugo is i vertigo excuse me walker buehler is like the guy you won't like the is close to untouchables you can get yup i feel like verduga is right below in he's the position player that you would want to give up least now i'll tell you on last week's breaking blue podcast nicoletti was on and he seemed to indicate that there was that walker buehler untouchable but wiggle room on verdoux by was bad news bad about thirty has a four hundred onbase percentage hamas hiawassee ashes ole only three home runs which is interesting at oklahoma city so he's not a power nobody's got double is gone i think twenty or twenty one doubles me he's a drives the ball well right now some it he's in his plate well and not everybody in the lineup has hit twenty five thirty home runs and and they do believe as it gets a little older his power will sorta come around what i find is interesting is okay so i put this out as a poll probably on a 20 minutes ago so doesn't have a gigantic number of responses.
