"New York's attorney general got involved, and she had no idea the game was free. That was her problem. That was an apple TV question. What is more accessible in 2022? Yes, or Apple TV. Well, see, to me, this has been my argument on this every week. To me, it's the double, well, the Apple TV game is free. So it doesn't apply here. But it's usually where you're paying for cable like you pay for yes, and then they put the game on, Amazon Prime, for instance, which you have to pay for. It's them milking fans for double payments that irritates me about the streaming. The accessibility is what it's accessible. I don't like watching the game that way, but it is accessible. To me, when you get hit for the double payment, basically, because a lot of us are still paying for cable. Yeah. Yeah, same here, by the way. So it's like you say, okay, yes, I'm going to get the Yankee games. Oh, wait. I go somewhere else to pay for a Yankee game. I still don't understand that. Now, I might need you to straighten me out on this one because the reaction from fans that I saw on the Clemson wake forest split screen with the Aaron judge at bats. Made me think that, I mean, we have a serious problem with sports fans being deranged in this country. Now, again, I'm a Yankee fan. So, I don't know, maybe I'm coming at it from that perspective, but I was thinking about it as a Yankee fan. If I'm watching a college football game. And they cut into show any at bat from any player going for any record. I am not going to get worked up over two minutes of the college football game being on a split screen. It's like they want away from it. They did a split screen for an at bat. You would have thought someone burned the country down to the ground or something. I could not believe how angry people were about that. It was shocking to me that people would be so wrapped up about that. What was your reaction to that? So my personal experience, I'm a University of Texas grad, and I was watching Texas play like crap against Texas tech when that was happening. Please more split screens. Can we show something else to get my mind off this garbage that I'm watching right now?

"But when you look at wake pain, they have a dynamic offense led by Sam Hartman Clemson has a dynamic defense that has been outstanding all season long shown a little bit of vulnerability when they took on a team like Pittsburgh, but in their own building with everything to play for. I think this matchup should be worth its weight in gold at noon eastern. This is good on good, right? Hartman versus Clemson's defense. Hartman, I believe 7th in total EPA for quarterbacks Clemson still a top 5 defense in EPA per play allowed and productive drives allowed. It's a fun matchup. Harmon's going off his worst game of the season, though. One of the weirder games you'll see from a quarterback in offensive perspective. Wake only had a 39% success rate against NC state Hartman completed less than 43% of his passes. Wakes ground game, negative EPA per Russia, and somehow they still hung 45 on the best defense they've placed played this season. And I know NC states been dealing with some defensive injuries, but still a good unit. It was just one of the more bizarre games by the box score wake certainly lost. Clemson is a little bit of a different animal. And I know they've also dealt with their fair share of defensive injuries, a couple of guys out. In the front 7, we know they're down offensively, but defensively still elite venables. If you've listened to his presser this week, he knows what he's up against. This is the type of matchup where he's been like, hey, we need to be disciplined down to down, and we just need to execute. And he basically said the same thing that we've been saying about wakes offense in that it's not overly complex. Sure, there's some intricate stuff with their blocking schemes where they'll pull a tackle up the middle and for the most part, it's an RPO system. They hold the mesh point for as long as possible to put your defense in conflict. The vast majority of the place, they are designed to look the same. Wake's just really good executing it. A lot of veteran guys, a lot of smart kids, right? That are executing this offense. Now, the matchup last season, I know it's different. Wakes scored only three non garbage time points. And venables kind of hinted that everything looks the same as it did last year, just the guys are older. They execute better and I quote Hartman's a baller. So let's see what Clemson comes up with here. They haven't created the most havoc with their front 7 like they have in years past. They're not getting their typical push up front, but Clemson's still very good at the line of scrimmage. They still have to win that battle. 17th in line yards. They really still hold up well. Even though their horses are brise, who's out. It's a big loss, obviously, but he's been out for a while. They've adapted the life without them. If you have a good defensive line, you can impact wake's office, right? Because they hold the ball so long, that mesh point, you can get your hands up, tip a bunch of passes, drive that O line back. If Clemson can stop the run with 5, and you get disciplined play out of your linebackers and keep an eye on that Clemson doesn't have the best coverage linebackers. But if you can get those two things, it's going to be tough for weeks offense. It's also worth mentioning here and you kind of hinted at this is the schedule dichotomy. Wake force played one defensive line in the top 40 in line yards. Clemson's played three offenses inside Bill Connolly's top 25 SMP plus. So there is this massive scheduling difference here. And right now, this game probably isn't for me. But we talk all the time about lines painting pictures and telling stories. You have a three loss Clemson team that nobody seems to want. Couldn't cover. It's lowly Connecticut. Wake force has this great story. Even though they lost one game, still tenth in the college football playoff race. Clemson's a four and a half point favorite. And I don't even need to look dot. Casual betters are going to be running over men women and children to get wake as a dog here. But you start to have these market inefficiencies. And I understand Clemson is vastly different than it was last year. Not quite as good defensively, and obviously an abomination on offense. But clumps is a 35 point favorite at weight last year. And now you have a venue flip. Where Clemson's at home and they're just a four point favorite this year. My gut says this line kind of trickles up a little bit. We'll see if the public evens that out. And oddsmakers have to adjust for all the public money on the dog. But just an interesting game where the line certainly tells a lot. I've done power ratings, not nearly as extensively as some folks in the industry or as long. I've made adjustments for quarterback downgrades and cluster injuries, but I'm not sure I've ever made a 39 point adjustment from Trevor Lawrence handing the baton to DJ uncle ale, although to your point, anyone who goes 21 to 44 with a 48% completion rate and a season high 240 yards passing against Yukon, probably not exactly a ringing endorsement. The other thing it appears that Justin Ross is going to have surgery on his foot, Clemson hadn't made any official determinations from what I'd read, but an offense had struggled now loses its top playmaker 46 catches 514 yards out of the mix. But according to davo this week, it does appear that will shipley and Kobe pace will be back in the fold for this one. So just things to keep in mind as you look to try and handicap. I know a lot of our listeners will be forced to make a pick on this game for various office pools and such. If you want you yeah, no, no, no, if you want to go contrarian, I think, to your point, I mean, you may be able to make up some ground on your competition by laying the points of the climate and if you want to think outside the box a bit. Oh, yeah. If you're in contest pools and you're trying to make up ground, sometimes it becomes not necessarily about the game in and of itself. But the way you need to navigate contests, there is some strategy involved other than like hey, let's just pick the winner and being able to make up ground on sides that you would at least lean to. And if you lean to Clemson knowing the entire pool, probably be on. Wake forest, that certainly the better way to navigate things than just grabbing a stale number on another game the rest of the contest is probably going to also have where you're not able to make up ground that way. Yep, no doubt about it, especially as you get into the latter stages of some of those pools out there as we know people like to get skin in the game a variety of ways and it's not just always betting into the dynamic markets available to you at FanDuel sportsbook. All right, to the SEC pain, Arkansas, Alabama, I believe this is the SEC game of the week on CBS, and it's the Alabama crimson tide more than a three touchdown favorite 21 and a half to going number at FanDuel right now. Total in the game, 58 and a half. The last win in this series for Arkansas came way back in 2006, the year before Nick Saban arrived to Tuscaloosa to change the fates of the pride program there. Bam has scored at least 40 points in each of the last 5 meetings versus Arkansas, the last two meetings have been a combined score of 100 points for Alabama to ten for the razorbacks, Arkansas is.

"Utah has to be good enough on early downs to force Anthony Brown to be a passer. Right? You're not going to beat Oregon. If Anthony Brown has more rushing attempts than completions, which is what happened last week against wazoo. If you're Oregon, you're not changing who you are unless you're forced to. And they've been getting some help. I think we've talked about this a little bit. You lose viral, all of a sudden, we're asking can die with his size and stature and composition being every down running back. He hasn't needed to be. The freshman, Byron cardwell, he has been exactly what the ducks need. He was fantastic last week. If you look, though, in this matchup, I think it's interesting. If you can get cardwell going right, give them 9 to 12 touches. That's probably a sign that organs are able to run the ball here. Then you can get die as the explosive back, but you can get them out of the backfield. We saw him catch touchdown pass when wazo elected a blitz linebackers, same situation here. If you know Utah is stuffing the box and they have linebackers that want to play downhill, getting die out of the backfield in past situations with the RPO on early downs might be a nice little wrinkle. It's an easier pass for Brown. And I don't necessarily like we've been talking about running back runs forever, but where they're the best is on early downs. It's not third and 6 dumping it off and hoping that you're running back and make someone miss an open space. But you get that RPO game going and Utah being very aggressive with that loading the box, then all of a sudden you get die out of the backfield. So I think that will be something to watch for here. Is if Oregon can get some easy throws in early downs four die and Anthony Brown. But ultimately, this comes down to. Can Oregon get stopped here or rather, can you target stops on early downs and then make Anthony Brown beach? You just have to make him a thrower. He's not very good. Even if you look Todd at whether it was last week or some of the full season metrics, when he throws with RPOs or play action, this is a positive EPA offense. Any other type of throw. It is a bottom barrel type passing offense. So in that third and 5 situations, not just because Anthony Brown is in a good passer. It really is. But suddenly the RPO passing doesn't necessarily work. You're not going to get linebackers to bite on an RPO on third date. They know the run is not coming at that point. So that's really where you have to have organs offense operate. The other injury to keep tabs on too, it's not going to get potentially easier for Oregon to throw the ball downfield. Johnny Johnson was forced out of the Washington state game with an unspecified lower leg injury, reading some of Mario's quotes and watching an interview with Joe moorhead. They've been pretty coy about that and it's not a team as you kind of alluded to that has a lot of depth or game breakers at the receiver position. So if your Utah and you really only have to eliminate a neutralized Devin Williams, it makes it that much easier to commit an extra guy to the box and playing the run. And I'll tell Kyle winning him something I'm sure he already knows. Go back and watch the tape of what Cal did defensively with Justin Wilcox to make life difficult for Anthony Brown. Oregon had to work for absolutely everything and is the field condenses and you can play more guys in the box. I really believe a win for Utah this week. Let Oregon move the ball between the 20s, forced them to settle for field goals and lean on your offense because honestly, pain when you look at Utah, they've gone away from their DNA. We've grown accustomed to Utah being three yards in a cloud of dust when it comes to offense, leaning on a stingy defense and trying to win slugfest, but offensively, cam rising has given this team a shot in the arm. He's only been sacked three times and 233 dropbacks. So far this season, which is extremely important when you deal with a pass rush led by kayvon thibodeaux, and you look at how he's played at home against UCLA and Arizona state, a QBR of 85 and 92 in those games, 38 of 60, but they've gotten enough from tavian Thomas and TJ pledger in the ground game to lead me to believe that Oregon's defense should be put on notice. Utah's offense is going to challenge them all over the field. That often has been on fire lately. And since cam rising took over the starting job, the use have the most efficient passing attack in the PAC 12. And the thing Utah has going for it offensively is they can be multiple. You couple that efficient passing attack with a hammer like TV on Thomas, and now it becomes difficult to game plan and pick and choose where you want to allocate your defenders. Thomas was held out for precautionary reasons against Arizona, wittingham claims he won some rested for Oregon. Let's keep an eye on the status of that situation. That shit almost backfired on us. Yes, I would, I would tend to believe him there. You also have your center, Paul malley and your guard Nick Ford, whittingham was kind of mom on those two guys. They got banged up in the Arizona game, so let's again keep an eye on those two guys along the offensive line for Utah. The other two backs you mentioned pleasure, Bernard. They can really contribute, not just on the ground, but as pass catchers as well, Bernard, I think went three for 60 last week. Organs given up a ton of productive drives. They've struggled to get off the field on third and fourth down. Now organs done a very good job limiting explosives. But you can still push them around in the trenches outside the top 50 in both line yards and stuff right. So tavy on Thomas should be effective here if he goes. I want to believe voting him, I think the signs are positive there that he is going to play. You added that added dimension with cam rising through the air. So it's just a very balanced attack right now. They're extremely difficult to stop. The kind of snafu they had at Oregon state, there was a kind of fluke eNOS with that and some blocked punts and I don't know. Some situational football that didn't really go over well for the offense. But overall, since camera rising taken over, this is just a completely different offense. We'll have to see how Oregon holds up in coverage against Utah's backs and tight ends, like sewell is a liability and coverage. Hill is kind of that hybrid safety linebacker for organization. He's also great at out very poorly in coverage. Oregon's graded out one of the worst P 5 tackling defenses. And I've said this for a while now. Sometimes these teams you just get these elite pieces. And the market sometimes and the perception really just is completely different from reality. So as good as cave on thibodeau is and because of the quarterback class is so weak, it's very possible. He's the number one pick in the draft coming up. But kevon thibodeau is going to get doubled. He's going to get chipped organ despite having him 121st in the country and passing down stack rate. So even when the ducks get opponents and known passing situations, they don't get after the quarterback overly well. So cam rising should have time here. The other thing that's interesting is as well as kayvon thibodeau is playing right now. And he's certainly trending much better than where he started and obviously was dealing with some injuries and whatnot. But he's gotten healthier. The defense overall has gotten a little bit healthier and all we've heard from dux fans recently is the unit is really improving. I think it has some you hold Washington state to 43% success, Washington and a monsoon 28% success in Colorado to 46% success. You would expect a defense with this kind of talent to improve by week ten with a new defensive coordinator. You should be better in week ten than in week one learning a new system with a new D.C.. But this improvement has come against a Washington state's offense, which is outside the top 60 and EPA per play, Colorado's barely inside the top 100 in the same category. And then you have our beloved Washington huskies Todd and you're smarter than me. You finished college. If you can figure out this math equation, horrific offense, plus horrific weather conditions equals what kind of offensive performance for Washington? Subpar to say the least. I mean, yes, I think we're seeing some improvement. But I don't want to just be like, oh my God, organs figured it out defensively. Obviously, a ton of respect for Tim to Ritter, the guy was cash in a tickets right and left the cow because of his defense. And he's got more talent to work with here..

"Seconds and to put that in perspective. That goes from a below average time to throw the ball to one of the fastest in the country. And so they didn't take those deep shots. They were comfortable kind of picking 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 yards a pop, letting the receivers operate. And so now when Sparta's attempting to kind of game plan for Ohio State's offense, what are they hiring for? The deeper passing offense Stroud holds it and pushed it downfield or the quick pass attack. Either way, Ohio State is going to have success through the air here. And for me, this is one of the larger mismatches in a big game this week. Michigan state does not do a great job getting pressure up front. So it can leave sport exposed on the outside. Sparty kind of plays off coverage. They're 58th in PFF's coverage grade. They like to play, they don't necessarily have the horses to play man and get in your face. They are susceptible to the quick pass that we saw Ohio State execute last week against perdue. You know, I don't see a ton of talent in the back. Now you get an Ohio State offense, and you're looking at this even though they had that little two game struggle. It's a freshman quarterback. You're going to go through some lulls in his first season. But there's still number one in the country and passing success rate. Going up against the defense outside the top 60 in both passing success rate and EPA per pass loud. And the kicker, Sparta's played a really weak schedule of passing offenses. I mean, you have Indiana on the schedule, Rutgers, northwestern, all are outside the top 100 and EPA per pass. You faced a less than 100% Derek king and he went for 388 yards perdue, who's a top 30 in EPA per passion, lost to by double digits 8, O'Connell probably had his best game as a college quarterback when you consider the circumstance. He posted a positive 0.72 EPA per pass in that upset. Western Kentucky. The other passing offense with the pulse on the schedule home 31 points in a 53% success rate overall in that game. So any of the better passing offenses that face this year has done quite well. You also have to monitor some injuries for Michigan state. Charles Brantley who moved into the starting corner roll missed the Maryland game a great outs party's best cover corner. Simeon borrow the big fell on the interior line for sparty far and away their best interior alignment did not play at Maryland, all signs here. Are pointing to Ohio State doing what they want on offense. I look at this number Todd. And tells you all you need to know, it does and we said that in the Penn State game. And you kept me off Ohio State there because you're like, hey, something Penn State's doing is really giving them success against Ohio State the last few years and you were spot on there. But this is a little bit different. Not only is the line a touch short because this perception of Michigan state, but the matchup isn't very good either. I know Mel Tucker doesn't want to get into a shootout, but it feels like he's going to need a shoot out to stay within this. He's going to need a bad performance from Ohio State's defense to stay within this number because they're not going to get stops defensively. And so when I look at this line of 19 immediately, I'm looking at our number and we're at like 21.2, which is just the core number. It doesn't factor in the good matchup. It doesn't factor in some of the injuries that we've mentioned so you could probably tick it up a couple more notches than that. And listen, I think the story of party has been awesome this year. And I like Mel Tucker, great recruiter. And I didn't want to say anything at the time because I prefer not getting crushed on social media from fans and biased homers. But when the playoff committee had Michigan state at three, we have them power rated just barely inside the top 25. So the reality in the perception of what Michigan state is to the outside world is just vastly different than what pro betters think of them. A couple other things too, but before we close the book on this game, when you look at Ohio State last week, I know Purdue is a very public underdog. If I hear the term spoiler makers from any of our colleagues again, I'm going to lose my mind because as soon as a cliche catches on like that, you know what team's going to get boat raced. 59 31 on the scoreboard wasn't nearly as indicative as how dominant Ohio State was. And that performance against perdue. And you talked about all the Michigan state past defense concerns and numbers. All we have to do is look at the schedule of opponents that Michigan has played. Kate McNamara through for almost 400 yards against Michigan state. Kate McNamara hasn't thrown for more than 255 yards this season against anybody, and he was able to move the ball with ease against this Michigan state secondary. I think Ryan day will be ready to go, and you're gonna see Ohio State put on an absolute show. So buyer beware should you want to make you enjoy the same handler there? You know, I mean, JJ McCarthy gets more reps than I do. So everyone's just throwing Kate McNamara under the bus this year. Kate's going out there..

"That right there is something that you could get deported naked to the Taliban for castrated. This is the kind of this is the kind of guy I am. I am a supportive partner in all of this. And since the wedding is in Nevada, it fit in the parameters of our fall wedding rules that I've laid out well ahead of time that unless you're in the wedding party or a wedding is local. I do not travel for fall weddings. Given the responsibilities of our job. So I mean, you have to little bit of give it to you. You're gonna be doing a bunch. Oh, don't remind me. Don't remind me about that. So I'm hoping that everybody decides to get married out of town. She's not in weddings and they're all in the fall so I don't have to travel. There you go. All right, for combination, a little weekend home alone. Exactly. Before we get into some of the games, college football playoff, no surprise. Nothing changed yesterday. All right, there we go. We're officially covered the college football playoff. We're in a good spot of one and a half to have a debate about if Alabama loses close to Georgia if they're still in the top four. Let's save that for the Talking Heads on television. All right, we'll start with a team that I think a lot of people are surprised. They find themselves 7th fine a team that they beat who sits in the number 6 spot. That, of course, being the Michigan state Spartans, but the reality of it is no one cares what Michigan state has done if you don't win this weekend. Your playoff hopes and dreams are completely dashed and they have an uphill battle. As a 19 and a half point underdog going into Columbus to take on the Ohio State buckeyes, total in this game, pain sits a 67 and a half. When you look at the buckeyes, they lead the nation in scoring at more than 46 points per game, more than 48 points per game at home, which is 5th in the nation. Ohio State has won 5 straight in this series with the last four all coming by 20 plus points. And I think you and I both identified a very interesting quote from Michigan state's head coach Mel Tucker, that probably provides the perfect jumping off point as we break down the X's and O's. So he was in his pressure yesterday. And obviously, the background of Mel Tucker is defense. But he basically said he hates the idea of a shootout and he's not in the shootout business and when he hears that word, it makes him one of vomit. When you hear him say things like that right off the bat, it tells me if Mel Tucker had his way, he wants to slow this game down. Play keep away on offense, feed Kenneth walker, 35 plus times and then rely on Peyton thorn to make some timely throws. Let's see if that's how it shakes out. We know Ohio State's defense has had some issues. The front 7 is obviously really, really talented, but they're not overly experienced and you're seeing that. For the first time in multiple years, you can push the buckeyes front around a little bit. They're outside the top 40 and line yards. Only stuffed 17% of runs that's outside the top 75. Over 40% of runs of great successful against the buckeyes that's outside the top 50. So if Michigan state's offensive line shows well here. There's certainly a path for some relative offensive success first party, I would say. And once you get that ground game going, you have to think about the pieces that Ohio states replacing year over year. It's the linebackers. They went from one of the most experienced linebacker groups to one of the most inexperienced. Ohio states really sensitive to play action. And you look at Peyton thorn's makeup as a passer, 38% play action rate. It's far and away the most comfortable he is when he's throwing one 40 passer rating 12.2 yards per pass attempt with play action. Any other throw that Thor has made this season without play action, passer rating dips to 84 yards per pass attempt decreases by more than 5 yards. We know Ohio State secondary is really been a question mark for two seasons. Now they're still vulnerable 61st in EPA per pass allowed. You can make some plays on them through the air. But to execute this plan where it's slow, slow, slow with walker on the ground and then the critical third down conversion through the air or the explosive over the top off play action. You need the offense of line to show out. And smarties offensive line I would say is solid, not great. They are down, they're starting guard. Matt carsick out for the year, left tackle, Jarrett horse, got injured in the practice leading up to Purdue, hasn't played the last two games. So let's monitor that. But you basically have an above average O line potentially playing without two starters against the most talent they've seen up front. That might not go as well as we think. That game plan of being able to just mull Ohio State might not work if you're down two guys. We know Jalen naylor, Sparta's deep threat hasn't played since the Michigan game with the hand injury. So can someone else other than read step up and be the explosive guide downfield when thorn inevitably throws with play action if naylor can't go here? So some of the key parts to executing this plan of attack Todd are either not going to be there or not close to a 100%. Yeah, what's the line? Everybody has a game plan until they get hit in the face. I think for Michigan state, as long as they can stay in a neutral state, they're able to keep Kenneth walker very much in the mix. We know these are going to be two of the Heisman frontrunners on full display. Of course, the team that comes out victorious or puts up a better stat line may seize control of that particular race. And the reason is because when you look at Ohio State on the other side of the ball, they're going to have a massive advantage pain, and that is in their passing attack against this Michigan state secondary. So when you look at CJ Stroud, 17 touchdowns to just two picks over his last 5 games, he's had four 300 yard games during that span, two 400 yard performances. And I think what's crazy about Ohio State, when you look at this team, gera Wilson and crystal lavey grab all the headlines. This tandem is as good as any in college football, then you add in Jackson Smith and I don't even know how to pronounce his last name, so I'm not going to try. Who leads the team with 59 catches for over a thousand yards and 5 touchdowns. Welcome then the Michigan state secondary which just happens to be a worse than the conference in one of the worst and the power of 5. If you're Ryan Dan company, I mean, should this be as simple as take deep shot after deep shot after deep shot and trying to score from no matter where you are in the field every single time you're snapping the ball offensively? So there were some rumblings that both Penn State and Nebraska's defenses were calling out Ohio State plays before they were ever ran. Even it was wild to see. In my mind, if players and coaches are insinuating that, and if you read some of the clippings and pressors, that's kind of what's being indicated. And then you can confirm it with data where Ohio State has their worst two offensive performances in both success rate and EPA per play on the entire season. It's extremely probable defense has had a good idea of what was coming. Now last week against a, I would say, damn good Purdue defense. Ohio State was successful in 59% of their snaps. A positive 0.75 EPA per play, which is just a ridiculous number. Touchdowns on the first 6 drives. Ohio State scored on every first half possession and then added another touchdown on the opening drive of the second half. Ryan day changed up what they had been doing. And the goal was to get the ball out of CJ Stroud's hands quicker. Let the most talented receiver group operate with the ball after the catch. So Stroud's release time on average 2.1 seconds prior to last week, Shroud's average release time was nearly 2.8.

"wake forest" Discussed on Bet The Board

"You as soon as today. Pain, another week of college football has come and passed our listeners who grabbed the best of the number with the Minnesota golden gophers. We're treated to quite the sweat in the final two minutes last Saturday at Kenneth stadium. Obviously important to get the best of the number and that's why I had to beat you to the 6. Son of a son of a bitch. Son of a bitch. Now thankfully I was able to get some 6 through back channeling. So I was okay there. Yes. Yes, you almost slipped there back training. That was available all the way until Friday evening. You could have gotten 5 and a half a couple places, obviously. It's always important. Great at the line we give it out on Wednesday. It's always a widely available line that we give out on a Wednesday. And I'm sure some people navigated their morning slate and then listened to the podcast and said, hey, you know, I'll take four, that is unfortunate, right? Minnesota should have won the game outright at 41 minutes of possession out gained Iowa by a 123 yards, gave up an explosive here or there, but otherwise dominated that game and wasn't fond of PJ flack, right? I mean kicking field goals from the one yard line, being able to run right down Iowa's throats and kicking field goal before the break and slowing it down rather than with 45 50 seconds left on third and short, pick up the first down. Clock stops. Take a shot at the end zone at that point once the clock stopped. Once you pick up the first down, clock it and then take a shot at the end zone. Sitting there watching third and one, and him just drained the last 40 seconds to call timeout and kick a field goal. I mean, PJ flock was terrible. And Minnesota should have won that game. And then you get the unfortunate break at the end where we are all rooting. It's crazy how this changes as sports betters. We're sitting there with 5 and a half and 6 in our back pocket. And Minnesota's touchdown down two, they're going for two. We're all of a sudden change our rooting interest. We don't want him to make the two point conversion and go into overtime and somehow get screwed that way. But then you know you have the situation where you take a sack and it's fourth and 17 from your own two yard line. And you're like, oh, here we go. But Iowa didn't really seem intent on trying to score. It was like this half kneel slash QB sneak on first down. You're like, okay, we're going to be pretty good. We're going to hold to a field goal here. We got out of Dodge, but should have won that game out right if it wasn't for PJ fleck. Incredible. I mean, you talk about teams that are agro aggressive and wanting to go out there and take chances. We know Minnesota hasn't really had their big win in the Floyd rose Dale against the Iowa. They finally get the lead going into the break. They give up that momentum score right out of the half and here you are the hawkeyes hang on for dear life. I can't imagine no pain, how many boobs would have been out for Kirk ference? If his decision to kick the field goal, late in that game to go up 5, ends up coming back to haunt them if Tanner Morgan throws a Hail Mary or something ridiculous happens in the final 35 40 seconds. Yeah, that would have been interesting. Unfortunately, we also got a bad performance from Tanner Morgan, despite bell being back. That was one of the things that we loved seeing was hey, Altman bell's back, the horse and certainly he was integral in the late touchdown. But you mentioned having a lead at halftime there. So Minnesota goes in to the break. Has the lead by three. They get a stop, I believe. And then you are driving and you have like third and 7 from right outside the green zone tenor Morgan just air males a wide open receiver. So those are the little things sometimes that you'll notice within a game that can just absolutely change the complexion. So instead of up three completing the third and 7 to a wide open receiver and going and getting points and potentially being up ten, you decide to punt after you don't pick up the layup first down and then one play later you're down four. After the massive explosive. So there's always some swingy things, especially in college football and your hope is that like 1819, 20 year olds can rebound. Sometimes that doesn't always happen. No, it doesn't but alas, we're able to get the cover there. Like we said, we got our entertainment value. I do appreciate your play by play as I was driving to a wedding. So for the first Saturday, all season long, I wasn't parked in a front of a TV from start to finish, tried to convince the fiance that hey, look, we're waiting for an update from pain. We can't go into the reception yet because I don't want to be that guy busting out his cell phone. You provided me good news and at least set the tone for the evening to say the least. I received a text from the field. Yes. That's I was gonna say, you're on a first name basis, the relationship there is great and I know she has no qualms whatsoever about sending you notes or busting my balls in a very public form. So glad that really, I heard that you are texted me and said that you were mister Hollywood at this. Oh, this was actually a good story. This is a complete tangent. So we're there. And you know, I never know sometimes this podcast can be quick, but go ahead. Well, no, we'll just we'll just shorten up the games and we'll go more anecdotal stuff than anything else. It's always interesting, because you go into environment and it's not my friend. It's one of her oldest friends, so I have no idea if people are gonna be sports fans or anything else along those lines. And I know you keep a very low profile and I give you a ton of credit for it when you go out and about and you're distinct circles. And so I don't tell people typically what I do by any stretch. So people are talking and I'm sitting there on my hands as sports discussion starts to come up. They're talking about players. There's a lot of giants, fans there and everything else. And I can see her smirking the entire time, knowing that it's eating away at me, letting these people kind of banter back and forth. And so one of the guys at the table turns, he goes, you know, what do you do for a living? I go, wow, you know, I work in the sports industry. And then I see a kid on the other side of the table who's probably had about 37 shots of patron at that point. His eyes light up and he goes, oh my God, I know who you are, and I'm going oh, no, no. I don't want to do this. The kid for the next two and a half hours is nice as he was proceeded to ask me every question about the industry, ask about everybody I've worked with and follow me around for a puppy dog. So it was a little bit uncomfortable in that context, but it's good to know gambling has taken off. People listen to our podcast and watch a lot of the gambling content we put out there. So I'm dealing with the guy with a pretty large ego today. There's no ego because we know in this business, you're only as good as your last bet. And we still have a lot of work to do. Yes. That's the mindset. From the casual, guys, yes. Yes. There is no doubt about it. You flip coins, you go 15 and 5 that makes you better than someone who goes 12 consistently over a significant sample size. By the way, who has a wedding? This time of year. I mean, that is off limits. I don't know if I could still remain friends with someone who decided to have a wedding in November. That right there is something that you could get deported naked to the Taliban for castrated. This is the kind of this is the kind of guy I am. I am a.

Canary Speech Uses Voice to Identify Human Conditions Across Multiple Applications

"Canary speech technology is currently commercially available. It's practical and scalable. We range in population sizes from a few thousand to hundreds of thousands of individuals within the population that we're monitoring and scoring. We have a range of different human conditions, stress anxiety, depression, we've had probably the most extensive use with. We've done some work in PTSD as well. Second to that we have a lot of work done in MCI Alzheimer's and cognitive function and decline. In this particular case, we currently have four clinical partners in different locations in the world where we are doing validation studies on Alzheimer's and cognitive measurements. And then of course, employee burnout, things like congestive heart failure, autism and others are ones that are being worked on as well. I've talked about our patents, we have new patents we're applying for things that we've been learning through these studies. And then our speech analysis as we mentioned before is done generally on 40 seconds to a minute of speech. And we return scored through our system within three seconds of time. Our partners range across the world. I've talked about hack attack meridian. I'm going to talk a little bit more about them later. Black Doctors Use Social Media To Share Accurate Information About COVID-19 Vaccine

"The American public is hesitant to get a covert 19 vex. That number goes up to a third of Black Americans, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation poll last month. Hesitancy is rooted in real mistreatment and fanned by myths and misinformation, as NPR's Ping Wang reports some black doctors or finding creative ways to encourage vaccine acceptance. Well, very few vaccine safety problems have been reported. A lot of rumors are still floating online doctor Krista Marie Coleman has been tackling Cove admits on Tic Tac. She's the family physician in Orlando, and she describes one of the recent short video she made to counter misinformation. So yeah, so with the video I I'm using a trending song that people can relate to and as we can here with the song, it says, no, That's not true. So I say the covert vaccine will make you infertile, and I say that's not true. She posted the top second video in early December, and it's been viewed more than half a million times. And then I do a dance at the end, which people can relate to as well. A recent study published in the annals of Internal Medicine, like that public Health Message is geared at communities of color. Learn. It showed that black Americans are more receptive to information. If it comes from black doctors like Coleman. For some people, it means a lot when it comes from someone who looks like them. When it comes from someone who speaks like them. But only 5% of physicians in the U. S are black. Robert Drummond is another black doctor that's turned to social media to share accurate information. More broadly, he's an urgent care physician in Los Angeles, and in a recent Instagram live chat, he noted another big reason why people are wary of covert vaccines. With TV actor Dondre Whitfield's first Let me start by acknowledging the mistrust and acknowledging and understanding that there actually is a very real basis for that mistrust Well, said this deep distrust because that to the history of medical experimentation on slaves. It also goes back to the mid 19 hundreds when black men were deliberately not treated for syphilis. So researchers could see what would happen and it comes up to the present day. Just last week, a black doctor named Susan Moore died from covert 19 after alleging poor treatment at the hospital. When she asked for more pain medication, she said her white doctor made her feel like a drug addict. In the Instagram chat. Drummond pointed to a survey a couple years ago showing that a lot of doctors still wrongly believe that African Americans have a higher tolerance for pain. Everything from the top. We have thicker skin than two. We have a reduced we haven't heightened pain threshold so we don't need as much medication. This thing This is not from 19 hundreds. This is right in the 19 sixties. This is from the lake to thousands right now. As a black man, his part of the medical establishment, Drummond says his job is not to tell people to get vaccines. And said he wants to help people make their own informed decisions. But not everyone lives online. Alison Matthews, a sociologist at Wake Forest University, is researching how to increase trust in covert vaccines. In addition to the Internet, we've used conference wines as well, Azaz Mailed stuff out to people. You have to meet people where they are, in whatever level of communication is the most convenient for them. Matthew says that beyond black doctors, there are other community leaders that are trusted for advice. She works with black church leaders and sororities and civil rights groups. To generating trust in the health system is not a new challenge in the black community, says Dr Lisa Cooper, who directs the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Equity. Even before Cove, it 19 came up. A lot of the work that I did to try to address disparities in health care was focused on Having African Americans and people who are traditionally not given the sense of power and control in their healthcare play a more active role. For Cooper. The challenge is not just about overcoming vaccine hesitancy. It's for the medical community to learn how to build real trust. Ping

"In the third. Badgers score four consecutive touchdowns. They go on to a 42 28 1 over Wake Forest in the Duke's male Bowl. Wisconsin quarterback Grand Mertz throws one touchdown runs for two others. He did not throw an interception. Nor did he have a fumble. Until after the game. The trophy for the Duke's male bowl is a nice football shaped piece of crystal on a silver base. Perhaps more accurately. It was a nice football shaped piece of crystal on a silver base. Brammertz was celebrating in the locker room dancing with it when he fumbled it. And it shattered on the floor. If you check his I d story, you'll see he Fixed the trophy taping a squeeze bottle of Duke's mayonnaise onto the base. Coach Paul Chryst, shaking off the shattered trophy says they just wanted everybody to have a piece of it. SportsCenter all night. ESPN radio couple of significant ball game's coming up Friday as well. New Year's Day We have the semi finals for the college football playoff, Clemson and Ohio State in the two versus three matchup. The earlier of the two games is Number four. Notre Dame going up against Top ranked Alabama ESPN. Allison Williams head coach Nick Saban doesn't want to compare this team, the others, but he did admit it is the most balanced offense that he has a coach so far, and the player that impacts at the most is wide receiver Devante Smith, especially since the injury to Jalen Waddle. Steve Sarkisian, their offensive coordinator, said Smith really just took over the offense and put it on his back. There's also the maturation of quarterback Mack Jones. Coaches say each week he has grown in his comfort level and confidence within this office. Offense and they really saw it in the S E. C championship game. That's the calmest he's been saving says he's so much better controlling his emotions but don't expect him to control his emotions during the Heisman Trophy ceremony, he said his teammates Smith should win it and when he does, he's going to run in the other room and tackle him. So that's all very exciting for Alabama. The people in Tuscaloosa If you're in South Bend another day when you have to stop those people. This is a night unsightly chore, but they've got to get after it. What What are they gonna do to face and to conquer this challenge? Yeah, they have to be really disciplined and they have to be really physical. That's what head coach Brian Kelly said in Clark. Lee knows they have to try and limit the explosiveness, especially against Devante Smith. He calls it keeping the top on the tent being really disciplined in that back end, But they also have to be really careful when they picked their spots about when they say, OK, Smith can't catch the ball here because there are so many other weapons within this Alabama off And second hurt them. The biggest thing is they have to make Alabama be methodical in their drives and make them really work and earn everything they get out on the field, Brian Kelly said. If we are not disciplined if we are not physical, and this turns into a track meet, we're not positioned to win that kind of race. The other magic about Friday Clemson and Ohio State we learned Wednesday, Clemson's offensive coordinator, Tony Elliott, will miss the game. Coach Dabo Swinney saying Elliot testing positive for co vid ESPN analyst David Pollack. Man, This is huge, because if you look at the last five seasons prior, Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott have been co officer coordinator working together intangible Jeff Scott took the USF job this past offseason. So now you don't have any any guy in there in that room that you know have done it, especially now you're talking about on a huge stage and having to pull out Timing plays and rhythm plays and get you out of a bind place, So I think it's a It's a huge deal. It's nice having Trevor Laurence don't get me wrong, and a lot of plays will work with that big fellow. But I think Brandon Streeter will probably give me the guy that takes over. But I'll be curious to watch the start of the game. And then the adjustments as it goes along as a plague, cholera, somebody that possibly hasn't called plays in a game And now I guess what? Let's go do it. The semi final Understood. And I'm not in any way arguing with your point, but your point about having number number 16. He could bail you out of some situations. Now, just let him go out there and do what he does. On the other side. I'm interested in David and what you think of Ohio State saying that Hey, DuBose ranking and this and that has added fuel to the fire. They're not an often in a position where they have any disrespect to lean on their leaning into it a bit. What do you think of that? Leaning on that disrespect and you got last year. What happened where you felt like you were the better team and you lost to Clemson. So there's no sleep walking in. There's no excuse for how state they're They're irritated. You saw Ryan Day, you know in the locker room, fired up, jacked up about it and dabble rectum 11th in the final polls, so I think it's great. I think if you're in Ohio State fan, you're excited about it. You excited about being the underdog. You don't get to play this chip very often. You don't get to play this card like You're always the favorite. You're always talked about in such glowing terms. And so I think it adds some fuel. I think it's gonna be great and anything that that noise your guys a little bit more. That makes him focus a little bit more and make some care a little bit more, as you know, is always a great thing. College football playoffs Emmy's coming up Friday. "So the idea that they fought to a draw was not a surprise. And how about Kendall Hinton? Is that his name? Yeah. Hell that poor kid was running for his life felt so bad to how terrifying he was in sales a month ago, and on Saturday, he's just minding his business, getting some reps on the practice squad at wide receiver. And they're like, Hey, good news. You're going to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. Well, he did play quarterback in college didn't wake Forest Forest. Um yeah. It turns out Sunday morning, I checked my messages. The Broncos called me also. And I did. I don't know why I didn't hear the phone ring. You know what is is a parent When you look at the highlights, I guess you could call them from that game is you don't realize how fast the game is and how fast it moves until you see someone who is and you know All the power to him like that's impressive. I know he completed her and pass. But, yes, so brave. You realize how fast that game is, when you don't have a quarterback who's you know a quarterback and that guy's good enough to be in at? I mean, he's an athlete. He like an athlete like a daughter. But like an athlete, and he the fact that he is just a tiny bit slower than those guys and that that makes all the difference. Uh huh. Play has just sent me a Thanksgiving song. We'll have to play that when we come back, all right. It's called Let's Turkey trot. Oh, that sounds lovely. Last time, Wake Forest, then. Virginia. He was kind enough to give me a little heads up and said Zach Here's the game. He told me that off the air. I wonder if I'll be getting a similar phone calls Sunday morning when I'm on the golf course as I am playing golf this weekend, which let's be realistic. November in New York, first weekend of November. I did not think Or is it The second week in November was that last November? It was Sunday last week. First full weekend of November. We get Friday Saturday Sunday be November. I did not think I'd be heading up the golf course. But today It was beautiful in New York. I think we got up to 65 degrees. And on Sunday we'll get anywhere between 58 to 70 degrees, So I'll be playing some golf and I'm hoping that about I don't know. 11:20 A.m. Eastern I get a little ring ring on my phone, Zack. All right, let's have a little fun with this. This was the game. Hey, you go away we go. Here's the game. Go make some money. Now. I'm not a big better. The author down 10 15 Bucks that week of a so confident in John's pick with Lake Force when I got them when they were, plus the points Not when they ended up getting to minus two points ended up throwing down It was like 150 bucks. I was at a restaurant. In among island and I was watching the game outdoor dining and they had the game on And in the first quarter Virginia Tech was dour Virginia was down like 17 3 and that it was tied up going into half. I got a little bit nervous, and they had a big second half. They ended up winning that game. I think I said, What was it? 42 23? Yeah, that was the final score. 42 23 as he was all over the Demon deacons and since then, How about the Demon Deacons? I started out the year with the loss to Clemson, 37 to 13. At least they were, you know, didn't lose 72 to 3. They lost the NC state by three ever since then, they be Campbell 66, the 14 42 23 over Virginia, 23 to 16 over Virginia Tech. And then Connor. They beat your alma mater last weekend. 38 to 14. They crushed Dino Babers squad, So Wake Forest. Given those Syracuse snob, something that cry about So ever since John Price was on them. That's three wins in a row for the Demon Deacons and four wins in a row Total when you look at their entire schedule this year, Nice little job by Dave Clawson and that coaching staff at Wake Forest. I think they've Claussen is still the football coach there. Yeah. He is. I remember. Actually. Wake Forest played Temple in a in a bowl game. Temple in show up in the first half. Then it became a really good game in the second half and temple. They just lost. I want to say PJ Walker was actually the quarterback there for the Temple House. Yeah, because that was in. It was in Annapolis because they had to go Annapolis two weeks in a row because had the American Athletic Conference championship game. Where PJ Walker was on that team. And they beat Kenya Mob to Lola's Navy squatted in a few weeks later for a bowl game, Whatever the military bowl, they ended up just losing tow. Wake Forest and Dave Clawson squad Zack help shows to be a sports radio will break when we come on back. In five minutes. We've got to get into the Eagles. We gotta go around the entire league with quarterback play, but what's.

Choosing A College When You Don't Know Your Major

Choosing A College When You Don't Know Your Major

"It might surprise you to know that fifty percent of students enter College as Undeclared Majors undecided or Undead. Layered refers to an admitted or an enrolled student who has not yet selected a major now while there's nothing wrong with being Undeclared. It does mean that you have to ask yourself different questions about your building your college list. For example, you would need to think about which schools are best for undecided students. What makes a good college for undecided majors and should I go to a college with a lot of Majors or apply to specific schools many different types of schools. So what does it mean to be undecided again off when you apply and you haven't selected a major and a major is an area of study that you pursue through your course work. For instance. If you're a history major, you're going to take a majority took courses in history. And if you're an engineering major, you're going to spend a lot of time taking engineering classes and upper level math classes. So one thing I want you to know that job Being an undecided major is temporary. You don't graduate from college undecided the purpose of coming in as an undecided or Undeclared major is to get the student time to decide on what they truly want to major in before they have to declare it now different schools have different times when a student needs to declare their major and maybe at the end of their first year or the beginning of their second year and there are some schools that allow you up to your junior year to declare your major. Now, I do want you to know that being undecided wage doesn't mean that you can't build your list. It just means that you have a different checklist and a different criteria for picking your universities. So let's talk about things that you need to consider as an Undeclared major. So number one decide on the location. Do you want to stay close to home or are you willing to travel a distance to get your education wage? This could open up possibilities as you're thinking through your college list. So decide on the limits of how far you're willing to travel is a necessary First Step number to think about your in-game. So what is your ultimate career goal? And even if you're not very clear on exactly what it is you want to do think about a general area or some common themes about what it is that you want to do and then begin to write down a list of all of the majors that will help you get to that career goal. So, you know, if you want to start college Undeclared and you're thinking about, you know, various Majors many different majors and you can't just pick one then you might benefit from options provided by larger University so that you have more Majors from which to choose so try to find a school that offers a great number of authors. Ends that you're potentially interested in and then that way as you're taking some of your first year courses your core courses it gives you time to think through exactly what it is that you want to change number three consider an open curriculum college. Now, there are some colleges with what's called an open curriculum program is designed to enable students to develop their own program of study with the help of Faculty advisors. So schools like Amherst Brown Wake Forest vs are offer Open golf program. So you go in and you really go in Undeclared and you're allowed to build your course of study with the help of your advisor off. So, you know think again about those types of colleges on your list number four, and I think this one's really important but make sure you have support Wrap-around support services. So there are some colleges that have advising for Undeclared undecided majors and it's really important to make sure that you know the schools on your list do Provide support for students who check that box on their application as undistracted or Undeclared schools such as University of Maine and also USC University of Southern California. They have very strong Undeclared advising for students to help them begin to think about what it is that they want to do number five think about extracurricular activities, you know, you you're thinking of, you know, don't just focus on the program of study. But if you're as you're looking at schools, you want to take a look at the types of wage Opportunities and experiences experiences that you can have through society's through professional organizations. For example, let's say you'll enjoy writing but you're not exactly sure what you want to do with that. Well, maybe there's a campus magazine or journalism club or a college paper. Those are all great ways for them to explore writing a little bit more to see the type of writing a major you may be interested in pursuing. So it's important to get some of that real life experience and you can use the extra curricular activities as ways to do some Discovery as well as Co-op experiences research opportunities and jobs internships any kind of hands-on experience and positions that will allow you to discover a little bit more what it is that you may want to do Thursday.

The story of Trevor Lawrence's life-changing summer

"So we just discussed how Trevor Lawrence is influence has been growing this off season I taking on issues of public health and racial inequality. But last month. The very thing that gives Trevor Lawrence his enormous Megaphone College football was put in jeopardy as players in conferences. Having. These discussions about canceling the season. What role in those discussions did Trevor Lawrence play. It was a Sunday night early August enduring. Trevor. Together again. There at travers fiancee's apartment and rumours are starting to pick up steam that some of the biggest most powerful conferences in college football the Big Ten PAC twelve that they're seriously considering, postponing their fall season, and this is coming at the end of a week. When of PAC twelve players have released a statement on the Players Tribune using the Hashtag we are united. And they've threatened to out fall CAM even opt out of games unless the conference mixed their demands for fair treatment and safety regulations and less the conference addresses concerns over racial justice, and meanwhile on a nearly parallel track, you have players the cost, the country, trevor, and fluted tweeting the Hashtag. We want to wait to express their desire to keep the seasonal live. So, in the Sunday night when it feels like college ball is teetering, it's actually dairying who decides to reach out to Dylan bowls. One of the players the Pactel's we are United Movement because endearing mine Houston gain. If we all join together the players in the we are united movement and the players in the we want to play movement that would be undeniably powerful for players who don't have concrete power who don't have a real seat at the table at least not yet their collective voice with the really hard to ignore because truly. So many of these fires want the same thing they want to play football this fall, they just want to do it in a safe responsible way. Dylan Daring, trevor they get on a three way facetime called a hash all this out to make sure they're all on the same page and that very quickly evolves into a zoom call with a dozen or so some of the biggest names in college football right Justin fields chew behind nausea. Harris And matter of thirty minutes, they agree to roll out a list of demands from this new fused Mecca Movement. It was amazing. How quickly we all got on the same page put something together I feel like the majority was getting spoken for. And we were like, Hey, we WANNA play. We want it to be safe but we do to take a watt mandated and universal safety procedures for Covid nineteen and they want to form players association. And it pretty much the stroke of midnight. These players, Tweeden Unison. But it's trevor naturally whose tweet is hurt the loudest he's re tweeted some fifteen thousand times including one quote tweet from President Donald Trump, and it's just a few days later actually that someone from the White House reaches out to Amanda Lawrence Trevor Lines mom letting her know that the president would like to get in touch with trevor. So hold on. So he has the president of the United States listening to him. Now let alone all of his peers across college football. What was that conversation with Donald Trump? Like? You know I would have loved to be a fly on whatever wall in whichever room that phone call took place the president has said really that trevor just reiterated his desire to play this season but trevor for his part hasn't divulged too much about that phone call. Conversation it was good I mean we just talked about kind of the whole we talked about that. We WanNA play like how's it going? How's it looking for the season and? president trump was just saying, yeah, I think our country needs college football and. then. Some small talk. Yes. We a little bit about what was going on in my life and vice versa. So that was pretty much the conversation though trevor is twenty years old the president of the United States wanted to speak to him. That is remarkable crazy. No matter which way you cut it. So. Let's recap here Halley Grossman because since March Trevor, Lawrence Age Twenty has faced pressure to help mitigate a global pandemic fight racism save the College football season display a level of political savvy and or gamesmanship that is obviously well beyond his years. So what else can you possibly be asked to do at this point? I mean look putting your stamp of approval which he's done on a list of demands that includes creating players. Association is a big deal. That's a radical way to reimagined that amateurism model that governs. College football right now but I think what this summer has shown is that trevor doesn't plan to quiet down you just a few days ago a whole lot of guys that original zoom call we talked about reconvened because they revealing again from a police shooting of a black man again, and so in the days after Jacob, Blake was shot. Trevor and Darien and Dylan, and a whole host of others talked once again to hammer out ways to help to draw attention to the issue and hopefully bring change. Trevor Lawrence football season is starting tomorrow and if all goes according to plan. He's GonNa win the heisman before becoming the first overall pick in next year's NFL draft teams have been salivating over his talent. There have been rumors that teams might even want to tank for Trevor Lawrence this season. So the question really that is, why is he even putting himself out there like this? Why even play the season? I mean that is the question, right? We have seen plenty a high profile opt-outs this season jomar chase at Lsu. Mike Parsons at Penn State today. Oregon. These are first round top ten NFL draft guys but no one literally nobody has less to lose by not playing the twenty twenty football season than Trevor Lawrence. are in a player having a job borough like. Or I don't know an asteroid hitting the earth, his Cossacks to go number one overall are safe, and at the same time, no one has less to gain by paddling the status quo or shaking up the current system than trevor does this system works just fine for him? He is a young white man. He's a young white quarterback, and so I asked Amanda, his mother that seems washing. Why? Why do all this? I put himself out there and she said something interesting she said look. there. are players out there who do need to even if trevor doesn't and there are people out there for whom the status quo and the current system don't work even if it works for him and he understands that now probably better than he ever has and he just wants to help. That's really it know told me one of his goals for the senior only meeting because he wanted everyone to understand that unless everyone is good no one is good and trevor, his best friend took that to heart. Of the day, there's so much division in our country. Just word of some people that WanNa see people together, WanNa see people love each other and I think that's where a lot of the things I do. It stems from that just wanted to see people happy together not divided. With all this pressure now from all of these different places in our country. Landing Atop. Trevor Lawrence's shoulders. What are you personally expect from him when the season starts? Because of the ways in which Trevor Lawrence has stepped onto center stage this summer it's almost easy to forget what it is. That gives him that stage in the first place, he is extremely good at his job. Term Lawrence is an excellent quarterback. Making predictions in two, thousand, twenty, hundred, probably a fools errand. But tomorrow, there's football comes we'll pay wake forest, and if clemson continues to play if they and the ACC and the big twelve and sec are able to play a full season, don't be surprised to see Trevor Lawrence back on the national championship stage. Don't be surprised to see Trevor Lifting the national championship trophy and along the way don't be surprised to see trevor continuing to speak out and perhaps that's one of the safest predictions you can make in twenty twenty. Life to be reflection of what I say and what I believe I've been thinking about everything that's going on and I think there has been some some moments where I had to say some things because it's just the right thing to do and it's time really is just how I live my life I want it to reflect what I say. I. Would always be the same person I want to be consisted. Eliot Grossman. Thank you for jumping on stage with. US. Thank you so much for having me. Pablo.

COVID-19 concerns prompt Georgia quarterback Jamie Newman to opt out of 2020 season

"There has been some very big news in the SEC earlier today coming out of Athens Georgia were Jamie Newman who had transferred from wake forest expected to be the star of the high flying dogs announced. He is opting out because of covert or certainly a lot of conversation about that and we caught up earlier in the program with Mike Griffiths. Part of the reason he was coming to Georgia was to play more a pro style offense and group those potential NFL skills and you know I think he's been able to work in that offense, and now there isn't worth yet you know there's always the risk of injury with ten game schedule. Last year, you make it through the season had a shoulder injury, the poorest mrfloor state. Now, he's looking down the barrel of a ten game schedule. He's got a guy on his heels that. My overtaken for the position and JT Daniels. You know how does that look? NFL Scouts so I think this is the safe decision maybe per for Newman if you have concerns about cove nineteen or losing your job or or getting re injured, let's face it. It's a really physically Paul I mean there was only four out of fourteen teams in the league last year that had a quarterback started every game and that was an eight game season. Now, you're looking at a ten game season.

UNC's Lost Season

"Jeff Bordello. I'm a little shook. North Carolina finished the regular season. They lose to do because that's fine we're used to that but they're the lowest seed in the ACC tournament North Carolina. So some how you would view this season for the tar heels. I mean they're arguably the most disappointing team in the country. Jeff Portillo is a college basketball insider for ESPN. And I know we have to take some other factors into account with injuries. And Karl Anthony and things like that but you know this was a preseason top ten team that like you said is going to be the bottom seed in the ACC tournament in the ACC is not goodness here. It's a it's a pretty down league you know. There are Miami. Nbc in Wake Forest Pittsburgh. None of those teams are very good and Carolina is at the bottom of all that and to me. That's shocking you know. This is one of the best of all time blueblood like I said a top ten preseason team and four months later five later. They're the worst team in the ACC. It's one of the bigger stories in college football this season and I think you could really make the case that there are the biggest disappointment in college hoops so let's go back to October. Preseason rankings come out North Carolina's in the top ten. They're sitting at number nine refresh everybody in what the real expectations were coming into this season for this team. I mean they a lot of guys from last year but they did bring in what people expected was an impact recruiting class was led by Karl Anthony Centerpiece of Roy Williams retooling effort. It's chole Anthony. Going the top freshman in the country making his debut tonight from of a raucous crowd here that the dome he was expected by pretty much everyone to be the most productive freshman in the country. That's how he wasn't high school that's where he was on the scene. He was a guy that was going to put up big points. He was gonNA put a big assist numbers. He's going to rebound and he was going to win games. That's just that's just what he was at the high school level and people expected him to to be that same player Carolina and it. Kinda set up perfectly for him because he was able to come in and this was a team that didn't have any real goto guys coming back. So they said hey collapsed. And you're getting the ball from day one and you're gonNA lead us and you know it kind of looked good. You know in the first game of the season. He was terrific. He had thirty four points. Eleven rebounds five assists debut for coal. Anthony lost a lot of stars to the NBA. After last season with the go one superstore Chambal. Whom the feeling was that? You know this team is going to be okay. Even despite the losses and along with him they brought into Grad transfer. Is that you know. We're probably two of the five or seven best. Grad transfer is in the country was Christian Keeling from Charleston southern just NPR's from William and Mary and and that added some experience at its veteran leadership and combined with a couple of other guys are Mondo Baker was a five star recruit garrison brooks was a two year starter download so i. I just think that people thought you combine the newcomers with the guys returning and even though there weren't any stars coming back from last year's team there was enough here to to compete for an ACC title and Roy Williams has done this before where his team is is written off a little bit in the preseason and under rank behind teams like Duke and he finds a way to win and that's just what he does and and I think people expected him to do it again with the guys coming in and coming back well so now you've got a team that has preseason expectations they get into. The season was the first time this season there was the first real sign of concern that the season might not go the way some had hoped. I think it was a couple of things I think one was even when they were winning the game. They won their first five games of the season. But even some of those the Notre Dame win the Alabama win. There were some signs of. Is this team going to be as good as we thought were Williams? I you get the sense. He hasn't loved all aspects of his teams. Play here today. You know he has. He has not name barely beat. Notre Dame eleven point margin was it. It wasn't addictive. How close the season opener was against Notre Dame so I think there was. Okay let's give it time. Let's let Cole Anthony. And the other freshman get acclimated and this team will figure it out but they lose by twenty five at home 'til Ohio state to start December. You know then they lose that. Virginia you know losing effort gene is not not a usually a big concern. This is not a vintage Virginia team and I think most people realize that at that time and then they lose to Wofford. They ended up finishing below five hundred in the southern conference. Terriers come to Chapel Hill and knock off a top twenty five North Carolina squad. And that's when the you know the eyebrow start raising what's going on with his team are they poised to be this massive disappointment and obviously once call. Anthony gets hurt. The wheels fall off from their breaking news. Call Anthony out four to six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus. Well at that point you know maybe things are a little bit concerning. But they're going to get two. Acc conference play. You said it the ACC not the best conference in the world so they get to the ACC schedule. How's that go form? You look at their schedule and you said okay they can. They can weather the storm three straight home games in. Acc play against Georgia Tech Pit Clemson and they had games against Pittsburgh Virginia Tech Miami even a bad UNC team or even a a mediocre UNC. Team could go six in Owen. Those games it was kind of the the bottom half of the league and they went one and five losing the first five games of that stretch. Seventy nine seventy seven double-overtime Virginia tech knocking off North Carolina. I think that was almost getting the end. When you look back the schedule what would be the one moment that sort of pushed everything over to the point in return honestly I think it was after Columbia comes back a long ways away. Eleven Games without call Anthony but he will play tonight. Yeah the five hundred. Unc team suddenly. Jay has a lot of juice and he'd be Miami. Nc State then call and he comes back for a home game in Boston College and you know. They weren't very good at the time but they tended ten three and six in the ACC and you know the the narrative was kind of okay. If Cole Anthony Comes back the committee will look at them and say you know with call. Anthony this is an NCAA tournament team. He's going to be on the roster in the NCAA tournament they're going to factor that in so I think people started wondering can. Unc string together. Some wins and make a late run and in his first game back. You lose at home to Boston. College straight three other time. He's spoiled return. I think that was the sign that it's not going to happen so that's not. Obviously the only epic moment we all continue to think about from the season tickets back to the first game between North Carolina and Duke. The Duke Game was a game that that could have turned things around at least changed the narrative about Carolina and to lose in that fashion. Another late blown lead. Losing to your biggest rival do comes back not to be Carolina to me. That was that was a really low mon it just because it it could have been really a season changing moment for Carolina and the way it happened it just it kind of sent them even further down into the season

"In Robert helm of Wake Forest North Carolina decided to make a pizza for dinner just a few nights ago then not long after they put it in the oven is the kitchen begin to fill with smoke you see amber took a look inside to to find out why you know it's like oh my god that is a free can say yes right there no I was make got there throughout the charred remains as well pizza he said either our neighbors is they didn't order pizza woken blame them my oven's smokes but it's not because there's a snake in there although may I would maybe there is and I just haven't looked boy that's another thing that's going to be taken out of the mix knew of a new refrigerator new dishwasher new microwave as I do all this work in my home it is brand quite the process going through and doing all of this stuff so much show that as they go through like when I tell you the one doing the spot to Terry but we're gonna I'm I'm seriously doing this it's like I'm not to get any days off but I'm doing this stuff it is here's one that thing that happened and I'm gonna ask kindle about this someone ask anyone out there these what do I know about about certain things there's certain things I just don't know a lot about here's one of them as I go through this stuff and I'm cleaning out drawers name organizing my cupboards and I'm telling you about all this stuff and I'm taking things and take in this the stuff to goodwill but I don't need one is a pull it is a pull out the silverware drawer it encouraged to me that I have kept this silverware like some of the silverware I've kept it in this drawer for way too many years and occasionally all come across it in they'll be one of these really fancy kind of a butter knife type deal it's got this weird curved shape to what and I sit there and for whatever reason although the dishwasher every once in awhile that I put it back in the drawer well it occurred to me like what is this thing like what kind of a knife is this why he am I still keeping why am I holding on to this knife as if some day I'm going to have people over and I'm did it look like it's a ball like it's a fancy butter knife or something so what what I might add some day I'm going to quote entertainment a group of people and just to impress them I'm gonna pull out the butter knife I love fancy but her name so you kidding me I am totally not kidding but even though it's a butter knife but it looks like and what else is new she's nice I I actually use I have one and it's so pretty and it has really gorgeous embellishments around the handle and has rhinestones and like this is nice makes me feel so happy when I'm spreading different cheeses and really hymns and things yeah I would definitely use it if you're a guy I'm such a gun just like I get the standard butter knives smashing it on there you know I just don't know why would the fancy nights to get these fancy knife and I'm looking at I finally decided what could I put it back in the drawer I don't think it will no one not putting this back in the door you'll be will tell you if you haven't used in so long that thought away and let go yeah I'm trying to think of the last time I use this fancy butter knife deal if it's a butter knife at all you know when the annual the answers I was never will power once you get your house done and you have a fun party and you have a nice cheese spread and you put that fancy knife right there by all your different cheeses your meats and nothing says Gee I've just completed my house like a like a like a a pap pleaded cheese spread exactly the time comes that you celebrate a bagel pleaded cheese bread and cheese bread what my user fees the night then so you know what I did it I maybe I should have taken your advice well no actually they're still in my truck waiting to be taken to good well yeah let me see that that fancy night before you donated kind of interest now I have a better question than that when the fancy knife is only part of this thing here's the other part of the equation anyone out there can answer in less kindle can answer this someone please tell me as I'm going through again I'm gonna stick to the civil war because I have so many things I could choose from I I find things cannot I'm looking at it I'm going I don't even know what the heck this thing is what is this thing and why do I have it I like the feel like posting it on landing on someone can you identify with this is because I have no idea but here's one that it and in your money do I found all this outdated CM and prolong your money either but I found all this out he didn't really kind of kitchen technology so what I do and I'm I am going to have a party down the line before you get rid of some of the stuff where I just make an entire dinner using the outdated technology and those funky cheese knives or whatever they are the the bread knife thing but here's my question to you as I'm going to the silver award your candle and anyone who wants to answer this what is the short for for the little short form in here you forward to this area then there's a little the weird little area in the back of it that the silverware tray we usually white Justo weird things I don't know what they are exactly and one of them is the short for what is the short for I had like eight of them in a like women have I ever use the short fork is it some kind of an etiquette thing that I'm just not aware of like is it for salad he's I really don't know I don't know what it is that might be a like an oyster for sure for what are you doing with an oyster for doing I'm.

"What will is what people don't focus on the Virginia they be ninety three immediately VTech they'd be whatever they are eight forty Wake Forest they'd be eighty three whatever they wanted that there's a lot of good football team just don't pay attention but it did the day it's not my job to build the lakes my job good post and and I think we've done a nice job of that for a long time come back to the John Kincaid show on CBS sports radio and that was the biggest load of doggie doo ever paddled by yeah those Sweeney in its history jockey cage show CBS sports radio Kevin McGuire loves to opine on the world of college football follows very closely as very interesting opinions to share with us and he joins us here NBC sports and others many other outlets to follow on Twitter get a link to everything that he does and some hot sports opinions to along the way seven hours one I'm good done I do believe that thanksgiving thank you bye you too ma'am jabber Sweeney trying to peddle to people that the ACC has all these great teams and that Wake Forest could win eight in any league that's all of the you know I guess it he also told us that you know update your Virginia Tech could win eight mini league which I I'm I I think it's the stupidest thing I've ever heard come out of his mouth I think with that was we need the thing is the first of four with any coach has one mission and that's really to send a message to their own players so when he puts out these trade the quote is really speaking workers players to try and get them focused and I think I can understand it from his point of view because he's in charge of a program that is clearly the most dominant team in this conference he knows the competition Gaillac respect we have to find ways to motivate his players the kid to do to stay up for all their games that they have had to get through the season without playing a ranked team has so what I do I do here if you're saying I think that the message gets played out in the media because the we've heard this all before and the disrespect card that he's trying to play against it it has to sell with his players but it's not going to why would anybody else because at this point nobody's disrespecting clubs and the there's some questions about the the strength of the ACC overall but the question kind of the out wire of the whole conference right now so I I I I don't necessarily buy much of what he's saying when it comes to this kind of stuff I am biased I'm not a journalist like you so I am biased I believe it's clear that the American athletic conference is better than the a CC this year is that outlandish is that incorrect I will be up for L. is obviously don't know be an accomplice good such close them but your topic right on that there's a there's a some good gaps in that a few this year this is a really good team since the days of a very good team as well UCF when they're on there they obviously pretty dangerous too yeah I think the there are some content maybe another yes they had a real good that's like you're so there's a lot of good quality dot in the H. B. this year and I think if you're to match up this covers for the HTC top to bottom but I think I would give it a fair chance do you agree with the committee putting Ohio state head Ellis you this week but like the week before these games were played I did I I just feel like a high point I I feel like they play defense and I think that's one thing that aside from yesterday that's one thing that's really been missing from Ellis you obviously that all the offices so so explosive when I bought the them against anybody but I feel like a high speed offense when they're clicking the way they have for most of the season they're just as dangerous and I feel like the fact that yeah okay can I can I are you can I argue facts with absolutely the going into yesterday's game the best offense that they had faced a **** a all year Ohio state was Florida Atlantic and the average offense that they faced was eighty third in the country so I'm gonna tell you that's fatten up once a week sisters offensively I mean I watch that Minnesota game versus Wisconsin I thought I was watching something from my childhood they should have shown that black and white I mean if that's if that's if that's twenty nineteen offensive football I'm not seeing it that's fair I have I don't think they know why he hasn't played the best offense is out there but yeah the defense is still got the job done they still have made sure that those games are not going to be touched by the opponent and I think the idea of some credit for that but what I'm saying is that what you're gonna pump up their defense on saying wait a minute here let's look at who they've actually played Florida Atlantic the highest rated offense that they had faced and I mean to me people were rate the Penn state victory was one that they felt well that goes over L. issue to me Ellis use local legion of victories so out ways Ohio state telling think it's close I do think you know it's you has more quality wins out I'm gonna give you that one for sure and I'm not even a contest I buy wholeheartedly agree with that I do think that a high state has some really good quality went on the shuttle though I mean obviously it is due to about taking that is still it's gonna go down as a good win in the eyes of collection because they seem to love Penn state they have no idea why they have no idea why I understood Kevin I don't I look at them and I say that is a team that is so offensively challenged it I scratch my head as to what they're seeing yeah obviously because it's been a real little bit of a mess you certainly come down the stretch of the season the second half is not really go out that often the defense is probably still the strength there yes is before the US rockers even though they were playing a lot of backups in some key spots then that's a good help that cause either but I I think we'll talk about it has went to get into the selection committee has ranked in pretty good spots like Iowa Michigan and L. again we may get carried away with some went missing that's far that's the next place I wanted to go with you I mean look what is are we looking do we not see that Michigan is who we thought they were again yeah they're a team that can win nine to ten games in any given season but they still have to get by a high state like a lot of teens but still that sure when you're talking on busy and that is the ultimate measuring stick and if you can't get past Ohio state what's the point of playing season sometimes with anybody survive in a power five conference losing five years in a row to their arch rival and losing is lopsided leave they as they have had the last two years where their expectations in the program because I can't think of one where a coach would survive going oh one five getting blown out routinely and Jim Harbaugh the the Michigan people are still going to drink is cool it yeah the last couple years especially for Jim Harbaugh of not going well at all he had a couple close games hi Steven alternately they come down and walk and you're talking about a guy that the old five he's being paid a lot of money to eat Ohio state and hasn't done yet in baby that gap is widening a little bit more than a lot of people may want to knit in an Arbor because this is certainly high seas continue to train in a positive direction Michigan probably plateaus to a certain degree in so many respects and this is not a good look especially when a Heidi has a great new head coach and this is supposed to be the year that issue was finally gonna do it because of the new head coach at Ohio state a new quarterback well things seem to work out pretty well in Columbus and you always will try a scratch our heads right here what do next they are Kim acquires got so many great opinions and shares them with us today you can always follow on Twitter and be sure to get them to we've linked to off of our page so Kevin yeah what kind of a shot do you give Georgia against LSU I give it a shot if they can find a way to keep this game somewhere in the twenties which would be very difficult to do but I think defense is going to have to lead the way no I know George it looks like they're gonna be a little banged up going into this game and might have a suspension of worry about the first half of the yes first they're gonna they're gonna miss Pickens this is it's very important that that the fed keeps the game with their reach going into halftime if nothing else because ultimately I I don't know if I trust which is often anyway to keep pace with all of you so it's going to rely heavily on a defense to really show up I don't see any way George wins the game without some self destruction from Ellis you some mistakes that Joe Berle hasn't been making and that's and that to me is not a good proposition you want going in with the game now if that's your key to a victory that's probably not going to be a good outlook for he gets your husband would girl get your husband vote yeah you what I I don't have a Heisman votes like we saw you you are just make that clear yeah yeah but it but yeah if I had a vote I would very strongly feel like you would be in my number one pick right now you deserve a house of a seriously some of the respondent will say some of these people hi everybody follow along on Twitter sailor Kevin he interacts with his followers so that is one of the things that I do enjoy Kevin will get into it with you will scrap around like he does with me Kevin appreciate as always man have a great week okay does a treadmill is chemical are joining us
