The story of Trevor Lawrence's life-changing summer

"So we just discussed how Trevor Lawrence is influence has been growing this off season I taking on issues of public health and racial inequality. But last month. The very thing that gives Trevor Lawrence his enormous Megaphone College football was put in jeopardy as players in conferences. Having. These discussions about canceling the season. What role in those discussions did Trevor Lawrence play. It was a Sunday night early August enduring. Trevor. Together again. There at travers fiancee's apartment and rumours are starting to pick up steam that some of the biggest most powerful conferences in college football the Big Ten PAC twelve that they're seriously considering, postponing their fall season, and this is coming at the end of a week. When of PAC twelve players have released a statement on the Players Tribune using the Hashtag we are united. And they've threatened to out fall CAM even opt out of games unless the conference mixed their demands for fair treatment and safety regulations and less the conference addresses concerns over racial justice, and meanwhile on a nearly parallel track, you have players the cost, the country, trevor, and fluted tweeting the Hashtag. We want to wait to express their desire to keep the seasonal live. So, in the Sunday night when it feels like college ball is teetering, it's actually dairying who decides to reach out to Dylan bowls. One of the players the Pactel's we are United Movement because endearing mine Houston gain. If we all join together the players in the we are united movement and the players in the we want to play movement that would be undeniably powerful for players who don't have concrete power who don't have a real seat at the table at least not yet their collective voice with the really hard to ignore because truly. So many of these fires want the same thing they want to play football this fall, they just want to do it in a safe responsible way. Dylan Daring, trevor they get on a three way facetime called a hash all this out to make sure they're all on the same page and that very quickly evolves into a zoom call with a dozen or so some of the biggest names in college football right Justin fields chew behind nausea. Harris And matter of thirty minutes, they agree to roll out a list of demands from this new fused Mecca Movement. It was amazing. How quickly we all got on the same page put something together I feel like the majority was getting spoken for. And we were like, Hey, we WANNA play. We want it to be safe but we do to take a watt mandated and universal safety procedures for Covid nineteen and they want to form players association. And it pretty much the stroke of midnight. These players, Tweeden Unison. But it's trevor naturally whose tweet is hurt the loudest he's re tweeted some fifteen thousand times including one quote tweet from President Donald Trump, and it's just a few days later actually that someone from the White House reaches out to Amanda Lawrence Trevor Lines mom letting her know that the president would like to get in touch with trevor. So hold on. So he has the president of the United States listening to him. Now let alone all of his peers across college football. What was that conversation with Donald Trump? Like? You know I would have loved to be a fly on whatever wall in whichever room that phone call took place the president has said really that trevor just reiterated his desire to play this season but trevor for his part hasn't divulged too much about that phone call. Conversation it was good I mean we just talked about kind of the whole we talked about that. We WanNA play like how's it going? How's it looking for the season and? president trump was just saying, yeah, I think our country needs college football and. then. Some small talk. Yes. We a little bit about what was going on in my life and vice versa. So that was pretty much the conversation though trevor is twenty years old the president of the United States wanted to speak to him. That is remarkable crazy. No matter which way you cut it. So. Let's recap here Halley Grossman because since March Trevor, Lawrence Age Twenty has faced pressure to help mitigate a global pandemic fight racism save the College football season display a level of political savvy and or gamesmanship that is obviously well beyond his years. So what else can you possibly be asked to do at this point? I mean look putting your stamp of approval which he's done on a list of demands that includes creating players. Association is a big deal. That's a radical way to reimagined that amateurism model that governs. College football right now but I think what this summer has shown is that trevor doesn't plan to quiet down you just a few days ago a whole lot of guys that original zoom call we talked about reconvened because they revealing again from a police shooting of a black man again, and so in the days after Jacob, Blake was shot. Trevor and Darien and Dylan, and a whole host of others talked once again to hammer out ways to help to draw attention to the issue and hopefully bring change. Trevor Lawrence football season is starting tomorrow and if all goes according to plan. He's GonNa win the heisman before becoming the first overall pick in next year's NFL draft teams have been salivating over his talent. There have been rumors that teams might even want to tank for Trevor Lawrence this season. So the question really that is, why is he even putting himself out there like this? Why even play the season? I mean that is the question, right? We have seen plenty a high profile opt-outs this season jomar chase at Lsu. Mike Parsons at Penn State today. Oregon. These are first round top ten NFL draft guys but no one literally nobody has less to lose by not playing the twenty twenty football season than Trevor Lawrence. are in a player having a job borough like. Or I don't know an asteroid hitting the earth, his Cossacks to go number one overall are safe, and at the same time, no one has less to gain by paddling the status quo or shaking up the current system than trevor does this system works just fine for him? He is a young white man. He's a young white quarterback, and so I asked Amanda, his mother that seems washing. Why? Why do all this? I put himself out there and she said something interesting she said look. there. are players out there who do need to even if trevor doesn't and there are people out there for whom the status quo and the current system don't work even if it works for him and he understands that now probably better than he ever has and he just wants to help. That's really it know told me one of his goals for the senior only meeting because he wanted everyone to understand that unless everyone is good no one is good and trevor, his best friend took that to heart. Of the day, there's so much division in our country. Just word of some people that WanNa see people together, WanNa see people love each other and I think that's where a lot of the things I do. It stems from that just wanted to see people happy together not divided. With all this pressure now from all of these different places in our country. Landing Atop. Trevor Lawrence's shoulders. What are you personally expect from him when the season starts? Because of the ways in which Trevor Lawrence has stepped onto center stage this summer it's almost easy to forget what it is. That gives him that stage in the first place, he is extremely good at his job. Term Lawrence is an excellent quarterback. Making predictions in two, thousand, twenty, hundred, probably a fools errand. But tomorrow, there's football comes we'll pay wake forest, and if clemson continues to play if they and the ACC and the big twelve and sec are able to play a full season, don't be surprised to see Trevor Lawrence back on the national championship stage. Don't be surprised to see Trevor Lifting the national championship trophy and along the way don't be surprised to see trevor continuing to speak out and perhaps that's one of the safest predictions you can make in twenty twenty. Life to be reflection of what I say and what I believe I've been thinking about everything that's going on and I think there has been some some moments where I had to say some things because it's just the right thing to do and it's time really is just how I live my life I want it to reflect what I say. I. Would always be the same person I want to be consisted. Eliot Grossman. Thank you for jumping on stage with. US. Thank you so much for having me. Pablo.

COVID-19 concerns prompt Georgia quarterback Jamie Newman to opt out of 2020 season

"There has been some very big news in the SEC earlier today coming out of Athens Georgia were Jamie Newman who had transferred from wake forest expected to be the star of the high flying dogs announced. He is opting out because of covert or certainly a lot of conversation about that and we caught up earlier in the program with Mike Griffiths. Part of the reason he was coming to Georgia was to play more a pro style offense and group those potential NFL skills and you know I think he's been able to work in that offense, and now there isn't worth yet you know there's always the risk of injury with ten game schedule. Last year, you make it through the season had a shoulder injury, the poorest mrfloor state. Now, he's looking down the barrel of a ten game schedule. He's got a guy on his heels that. My overtaken for the position and JT Daniels. You know how does that look? NFL Scouts so I think this is the safe decision maybe per for Newman if you have concerns about cove nineteen or losing your job or or getting re injured, let's face it. It's a really physically Paul I mean there was only four out of fourteen teams in the league last year that had a quarterback started every game and that was an eight game season. Now, you're looking at a ten game season.

I wouldn't know as I myself am a dog bisexual so I hit up Dr Rachel Cordesman. Visiting professor in women's Gender and Sexuality Studies at Wake Forest University. I have a confession. I actually don't like soup what I don't like. It would have been good information to know about weeks ago. Well it still even though I don't like soup is still something I was curious about. And it's still something that holds up. I'm just a special anomaly. Okay versus So it's not a thing you have in previous Leslie. I coming up one more investigation from and it is a doozy Nancy. We'll be right back. No one is carrying soup around

UNC's Lost Season

"Jeff Bordello. I'm a little shook. North Carolina finished the regular season. They lose to do because that's fine we're used to that but they're the lowest seed in the ACC tournament North Carolina. So some how you would view this season for the tar heels. I mean they're arguably the most disappointing team in the country. Jeff Portillo is a college basketball insider for ESPN. And I know we have to take some other factors into account with injuries. And Karl Anthony and things like that but you know this was a preseason top ten team that like you said is going to be the bottom seed in the ACC tournament in the ACC is not goodness here. It's a it's a pretty down league you know. There are Miami. Nbc in Wake Forest Pittsburgh. None of those teams are very good and Carolina is at the bottom of all that and to me. That's shocking you know. This is one of the best of all time blueblood like I said a top ten preseason team and four months later five later. They're the worst team in the ACC. It's one of the bigger stories in college football this season and I think you could really make the case that there are the biggest disappointment in college hoops so let's go back to October. Preseason rankings come out North Carolina's in the top ten. They're sitting at number nine refresh everybody in what the real expectations were coming into this season for this team. I mean they a lot of guys from last year but they did bring in what people expected was an impact recruiting class was led by Karl Anthony Centerpiece of Roy Williams retooling effort. It's chole Anthony. Going the top freshman in the country making his debut tonight from of a raucous crowd here that the dome he was expected by pretty much everyone to be the most productive freshman in the country. That's how he wasn't high school that's where he was on the scene. He was a guy that was going to put up big points. He was gonNA put a big assist numbers. He's going to rebound and he was going to win games. That's just that's just what he was at the high school level and people expected him to to be that same player Carolina and it. Kinda set up perfectly for him because he was able to come in and this was a team that didn't have any real goto guys coming back. So they said hey collapsed. And you're getting the ball from day one and you're gonNA lead us and you know it kind of looked good. You know in the first game of the season. He was terrific. He had thirty four points. Eleven rebounds five assists debut for coal. Anthony lost a lot of stars to the NBA. After last season with the go one superstore Chambal. Whom the feeling was that? You know this team is going to be okay. Even despite the losses and along with him they brought into Grad transfer. Is that you know. We're probably two of the five or seven best. Grad transfer is in the country was Christian Keeling from Charleston southern just NPR's from William and Mary and and that added some experience at its veteran leadership and combined with a couple of other guys are Mondo Baker was a five star recruit garrison brooks was a two year starter download so i. I just think that people thought you combine the newcomers with the guys returning and even though there weren't any stars coming back from last year's team there was enough here to to compete for an ACC title and Roy Williams has done this before where his team is is written off a little bit in the preseason and under rank behind teams like Duke and he finds a way to win and that's just what he does and and I think people expected him to do it again with the guys coming in and coming back well so now you've got a team that has preseason expectations they get into. The season was the first time this season there was the first real sign of concern that the season might not go the way some had hoped. I think it was a couple of things I think one was even when they were winning the game. They won their first five games of the season. But even some of those the Notre Dame win the Alabama win. There were some signs of. Is this team going to be as good as we thought were Williams? I you get the sense. He hasn't loved all aspects of his teams. Play here today. You know he has. He has not name barely beat. Notre Dame eleven point margin was it. It wasn't addictive. How close the season opener was against Notre Dame so I think there was. Okay let's give it time. Let's let Cole Anthony. And the other freshman get acclimated and this team will figure it out but they lose by twenty five at home 'til Ohio state to start December. You know then they lose that. Virginia you know losing effort gene is not not a usually a big concern. This is not a vintage Virginia team and I think most people realize that at that time and then they lose to Wofford. They ended up finishing below five hundred in the southern conference. Terriers come to Chapel Hill and knock off a top twenty five North Carolina squad. And that's when the you know the eyebrow start raising what's going on with his team are they poised to be this massive disappointment and obviously once call. Anthony gets hurt. The wheels fall off from their breaking news. Call Anthony out four to six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus. Well at that point you know maybe things are a little bit concerning. But they're going to get two. Acc conference play. You said it the ACC not the best conference in the world so they get to the ACC schedule. How's that go form? You look at their schedule and you said okay they can. They can weather the storm three straight home games in. Acc play against Georgia Tech Pit Clemson and they had games against Pittsburgh Virginia Tech Miami even a bad UNC team or even a a mediocre UNC. Team could go six in Owen. Those games it was kind of the the bottom half of the league and they went one and five losing the first five games of that stretch. Seventy nine seventy seven double-overtime Virginia tech knocking off North Carolina. I think that was almost getting the end. When you look back the schedule what would be the one moment that sort of pushed everything over to the point in return honestly I think it was after Columbia comes back a long ways away. Eleven Games without call Anthony but he will play tonight. Yeah the five hundred. Unc team suddenly. Jay has a lot of juice and he'd be Miami. Nc State then call and he comes back for a home game in Boston College and you know. They weren't very good at the time but they tended ten three and six in the ACC and you know the the narrative was kind of okay. If Cole Anthony Comes back the committee will look at them and say you know with call. Anthony this is an NCAA tournament team. He's going to be on the roster in the NCAA tournament they're going to factor that in so I think people started wondering can. Unc string together. Some wins and make a late run and in his first game back. You lose at home to Boston. College straight three other time. He's spoiled return. I think that was the sign that it's not going to happen so that's not. Obviously the only epic moment we all continue to think about from the season tickets back to the first game between North Carolina and Duke. The Duke Game was a game that that could have turned things around at least changed the narrative about Carolina and to lose in that fashion. Another late blown lead. Losing to your biggest rival do comes back not to be Carolina to me. That was that was a really low mon it just because it it could have been really a season changing moment for Carolina and the way it happened it just it kind of sent them even further down into the season

Is Duke Done? A Season of NCAA Basketball Surprises

"Myron. I think the last time we spoke. I was at Cameron Indoor Stadium asking You what you thought about Zion Williamson. That was the last time and now Zion's gone and things haven't been as good for college basketball since he left. Myron Medcalf is a senior college basketball reporter for ESPN. Men's college basketball has been having a pretty weird season. Can you explain to us sort of the state of things and why some of the usually omnipresent contenders your dukes your? Unc's Kentucky aren't even in the top five while it's a meeting in a year like this anybody who tells you that they know exactly what's going to happen in March. They're lying because there was no one no expert. That understands kind of what's happened so far. It's just been a wild year but I think you can look at some of the things that transpired Really at the start of the season. I think the James Wiseman suspension by the answer. Aa For twelve games after being ruled ineligible. You have a Memphis team that I think had a chance to be much better if he sticks around. Lamelo ball who if he follows the traditional track and goes to a UCLA USC that changes the spotlight on those programs as well But instead you have a lot of the blue blood teams that don't have the lottery level talent that they had a year ago. Duke is still a top ten level team but they don't have anyone close To a Zaylon you'd have a team like Gonzaga that had to lottery picks last year. They got some good players. Nothing like that so the the powerhouse teams are just really good team which has closed the gap so now a San Diego State with the Malachi Flint and against double team Malachi for three huge three by malachite lend. That's a really good team. Competing for number one see the Dayton with an ob top suddenly was one of the best teams in America. And I think it's because you just don't have the same concentration of talent we're accustomed to seeing with your Kentucky's in Dukes. Then you'RE K. Use Marin what is it like covering a season like this where there are really clear favorites and no one seems to have any idea. What's going on this year? You just don't really know who to chase like. You don't know who to say okay. That's the team to watch. Because they're really good. It just feels like a pretty fragile college basketball scene which is great for the tournament for everything. We didn't have in college basketball this year in terms of no established kind of powerhouse team. I think we're going to see the benefits of it. Come into double A. Tournament. Time when we could have one of the craziest craziest. March madness is we've ever had so. Let's talk about Duke. Quit even when dukes not great? We're still going to talk about Dick. Because it's really interesting. Myron how much struggled on Saturday they lost to Virginia Virginia wins. That look the three point line. Just couldn't connect before that game. They were ranked seventh. But I imagine they could go down even further now right. Yeah I mean this is a team that I think will will fall in the rankings. Duke has run into some teams who put on their Superman capes in the last couple of games. And that's change things you have. Nc State which made sixty one percent of its threes and that loss A week ago wake forest mixed fifty four percent of its threes. These things those teams had done before they phase Duke and Virginia really as just a team on the rise So I think duke got caught in kind of a weird gauntlet there but trae Jones has been sort of their closer whereas a year ago you could go to RJ bear. You could go to Cam Reddish you could go on. And now they're a bit more one dimensional They're much closer to what you see. Maybe in a typical season where they're right there with Louisville and Florida state and Virginia and the other teams at the top of the ACC. But they don't have a guy who's GonNa carry them to the top of the League and just help them separate. That's just not enough talent in college basketball for really any team to do that. But especially in the league like the Agency. So you're in Kansas right now in Kansas. The number one team. You were there to watch them. Play Kansas State and it was a right because these two teams Fighting literally fighting back in January Shit and now the benches inc just unnecessary. That's not good. This is Paul. This is bad this is but on Saturday night myron. They shook hands before the tip off in. Kansas came away with the victory. What did you make of the number team in their performance? Well I I'm just glad nobody fought again because that that would have been bad Glad to have that moment before the game I will say. I've never been to a regular basketball game outside of the NCAA tournament that had as much security as that game. Had I mean they were everywhere about? I'm glad there was an incident. I I think Kansas is sort of the perfect team in a year like this. Do they have a lottery pick? No but they've got this really balanced group of guys who are pretty good offensively. They've been pretty efficient team and they got two guys who win they're together. They're hard to stop. It's Dotson In Gaza Buki who when they're on the floor together. Kansas made about sixty percent of his shots inside the art. Their opponents have made about forty one percent of their shots inside the three point line. That's the story right there when those two guys are together. Kansas is certainly the best team in America. But you also look at them and go. Are they one bad night from Abu? Koa from struggling. He was hurt part of the game on Saturday against the bad Kansas state team boss feeds it in bounced past as a group. Six to shoot you back down spits travels this is the shot ultimately but he rolled his ankle. Oh this is good has approved. He is clutching his right foot so Kansas is good. But like a lot of teams there. One bad moment badge stretch away from being right there with everybody else. Well now. It seems like Kansas is going to run away with the big twelve after Baylor who was ranked number two going into the weekend got upset by. Tcu How bad was this for Baylor? It's always interesting right. Like Baylor won every game but one for like two months straight and now all of a sudden last week I think a lot of people are panicking and that happens to a team. Like Baylor which doesn't have the brand recognition of Duke or Kentucky or a Kansas. So in hard times. I think we may be overemphasized Some of their struggles. I think you obviously don't want to continue losing and losing to a team like Tcu is not good For them but this is a team that again played a tissue team that did things that they haven't done in the past made forty five percent of the threes on Saturday against Baylor. They made thirty three percent of their shots from three point. Line before that so that can be more of an anomaly. I think Baylor overall though is one of the best defensive teams in America made the best defensive team not named Kansas. So that's GONNA keep them in every game that they play well one team. That's right up there with Kansas and Baylor is Gonzaga perennial contenders They did lose to. Byu about a week ago but they're still considered favorites to win the WCTC. How good is this Gonzaga team? I think they're really really good me now like I think they're amazing. I just think this is a year where because everyone has been sort of even you get one loss and all of a sudden. Gonzaga gets the whole. You haven't played anybody. And why are you losing you know in the West Coast Conference and I think that's unfair? Byu was a really good team like Byu's go into selection Sunday with maybe a five or six seed. Maybe even better so. There's nothing wrong with losing a road game in that environment to a good team. They have the number one offense in America a flea Petra. Sav is one of the best young players Indian tire country. We would know what mark few the head coach can do. And they've got two losses all year. I think that is one of the best teams in America and I think will prove it wants double a. Tournament starts so most of the rankings have some combination of Kansas Baylor in Gonzaga in the top. Three we'll see how this weekend changes that but after that myron gets pretty interesting. I'm you've got Dayton San Diego state. Did you see that coming up before the season began out like I wish I could lie and say I did? I wish I could be that dude. It was like yeah. I called San Diego State back in October in Dayton. But I didn't I mean like ob top and a Dayton is suddenly this lottery pig. And I don't think anybody saw that Common Dayton on Friday against Davidson Mia. Think about this number. They may ninety six percent of their shots inside the three point. Line Ninety six percent like I don't care if you're playing a high school junior Varsity Team. That's really difficult to do in Dayton. Did that and not only did they do it. They've been doing it Throughout the season just really inefficient offensive team in San Diego State. A team that lost its first game about a week and a half ago. The they've been role as well in their line of people who will say San Diego State doesn't play the competition that the other top teams have faced in college basketball. That's not true. They beat the. Byu Team that just beacons Aga- they beat Creighton. Which I think is the surprise of college basketball naked win at all by thirty one points and they beat Iowa another solid team another Aa tournament team by ten points so the best teams that were thrown at San Diego State. Julissa Prado: The Million-Dollar Curl Whisperer

"Talk often about about how hair is very personal but Harris also deeply political a hundred percent. How does that show up for you? God it's so I think. Part of the reason why y results curls even did well was because you know we launched in twenty seventeen that was like in the midst of like politically it. The political climate at the time was very anti Latino very anti immigrant and it just like I feel like we were hearing all these things things negative stereotypes perpetuated in the media about our culture. We were like kind of being put down and we felt very. I feel like our community felt very attacked. Walked and I think that because of that it made us want to where our culture on her sleeve and make sure that wherever we went. People knew. I'm not like you like I'm proud of my culture and if you say something racist best believe I'm going I'm not going to sit here and take it like I'm GonNa say something like you know. Screw assimilating screw. Whatever whatever us being so nice in the past Knob we're GONNA if you're not going going to help our community that's fine? We're going to help ourselves. We don't need you. We don't need any body other than ourselves like our community powerful. We are strong. We are intelligent. And we're we'RE GONNA WE'RE GONNA help each other out and I think that with resuls curls it was like so many of these women that's why they were readying to wear their hair natural because it was like they wanted to rid themselves solves of these things that had they had they had internalized that told them that their culture their their neo natural state was not good. So you have this woman in mind. How did you then go out and find her? She found me she was always finding me. It's it's funny because I feel like I just was myself and I was just I was I was her you know but how did she know about your social media. Happy Whenever people ask me like that question exactly like what was the best marketing tactic. It wasn't really a tactic but the best marketing tool that Latinos have is chief most I culture cheese culture. I you know rebranded in the sense of calling sharing is caring you know it sharing his carrying like we have this culture of like when you see something good. You don't just keep it to yourself. You want to tell everybody we need something bad. You WanNa tell everybody know so. That really helped my business out because we like opened up. You know the the social media page. I just put it on there and for example what. A lot of people don't realize about Puerto Rico when the hurricane hit was that it forced an entire island of women to go. Oh natural women that just like the Latinos here in the U on on. Not In the in the Caribbean that had been you know. Oh straightening their hair. And we're not comfortable with them with their hair. Natural for so much of the island didn't have power for so long so they had to be deal they had there are natural and it was like. It's different when you're forced to be this way than when you choose it so we were like the only platform or the only Lepage online that was talking to people in Spanish even opening voice notes and doing all of these different like I felt like I was talking to my Diaz. That's how they would communicate with me. They would send me like voice notes on facebook messenger or like random things like that and it was like somebody found out about us and then more they told more people and wake up every day to hundreds and hundreds of messages on facebook especially from Puerto Rican women who were just didn't know what to do with their hair. They were like because they didn't have electricity so they could use blow dryers. St Mary's they couldn't Muslim didn't have gas to like what you know. What I mean like like we're waking up two hundred hundreds of messages from these women that were just like didn't know what to do with their hair and they're sending me? These pictures here was so damaged too because they had been straining for so long so I had to revert back to who my learnings from when I was making my own products at home. It's calling us. They were like contacting us in so many different ways and all of them. We were helping them through this process says and I think during that time we went from like I don't know a hundred you know followers on facebook to fifty thousand. It was insane insane of just like that month and as soon as shipping carrier started shipping to them again we had like thousands of pending orders for Puerto Rico. It's wild yeah you have a masters in business from wake forest. How much of what you've done in the last two years is informed by what you learned getting your Mba Okay and how much is instinct and just like life lessons? It's interesting because I feel like everything that I've ever done in my life has prepared me for this moment from driving a truck for my commercial driver's license to the lessons that I learned growing up in the hood. I yeah definitely attribute my my entrepreneurial spirit from growing up in mid city in in these like underprivileged areas areas that are black and brown communities because I feel like true creativity. True Hustle is when you don't have a lot to and you have to create your your own opportunities so going in these areas like I saw growth and what I meant by growth was like I saw the lady next door that I talked about. Start off with like making one caboose to having a whole cart to having a whole little shop to doing this like that's like hustle would see her there rain or shine like mountain. No matter how long the lines were giving great service and everyone would come. Everybody knew about her. So I feel like I saw these people creating opportunities that didn't exist for themselves and getting creative and just put so much heart into it so I think that for me growing up not having a lot taught me how to appreciate things and how to get a lot of bang for my buck to creativity. I feel like doesn't come from having thousands of dollars and and not caring about costs and having a not profitable business I think to creativity comes from having twenty dollars on the first day of school to look really fly. Hi and figuring go to dollar tree going to this making my own shoelaces tie them up it differently. Whatever sewing some stuff up and showing up to school like trendsetting you know and that was how I grew up like guide and have a lot of money but best believe I looked fly? You know. So that's how I feel about. My business is now to like the for example is like our little target a photo. Shoot thing you know. I'm going to create something really cute. I'm going to have cute photos. They're GONNA it'd be adorable. They're going to be funny but they're sure not gonNA cost me my profits. I'm not compromising profits for brand awareness. You posted a video on instagram. After received the first photo of a customer seeing the product on shelves at target. And there's up saying the video. which was I'm not supposed to be here? Dr Who. Oh yeah so that makes me really emotional. Because it's true. I feel like imposter syndrome. What it is but I feel like it's is different when you grow up in communities? Where like that doesn't never happens? You know like when you don't see like the when you think of entrepreneurs I feel like a lot of times like that word is never gets attributed to Latinos ever gets attributed like somebody who comes from immigrant parents it it gets attributed to you know someone that looks like trump someone who comes from like this lineage of having a lot of power in access and privilege the village so I feel for me and you know my customer. My family being on the shelf isn't just like a product being on the shelf. It's a testament to like all of my. My family and my community is hard work and determination and for me. It's like I think about seeing the product on the shelf I think about I think about like all the work that went into it from my dad wanting to come to this country like doc having been going through infested sewer to working some chops to working so many jobs to to you know sacrificing so much so that I could have everything so that could have access to better schools so that I could have education so that I could be more than he had like. My mom never went to school at all like she barely learned how to read it right when she she was like already an adult. So I think for me I say that just means like people that grow up like that you just think like like that couldn't be meet. That's where it comes.

"You know, Wake Forest being an ACC team. That's really I I got to accurately. Shocker, right. Well, I wouldn't say it was it was two min I know very little about Wake Forest basketball. So yeah, I know it's an ACC team was. Although interestingly enough the Wake Forest demon deacons in football. One six games. They beat Duke on the there's a couple of powerhouses in football. But but they're going to a bowl just like Vanderbilt maybe Wake Forest and Vanderbilt will play in a bowl game. I don't know. I'm having to look this up because. Yeah, I thought it I you when you were talking about this. You went to a football game now now. Okay. It's basketball. Now, I get it. Okay. I'm trying to think why the the basketball guy was coaching football. But. But that's right. The college basketball is already. I mean, he was all over the television during the during the the weekend along with the college football and everything titans. Are they got a game tonight? So. It's hard to believe. It's almost over. What happened football season's almost over the titans? You're playing who they playing the Texans. I think is that the plane was you and asked I've got to look again probably knows I think it is the Texans. And so there what five and five and the Texans lead by a couple of games or maybe one game. The NFL is I I guess they're still playing football. I haven't gonna say somebody like that. I'm the same. I don't follow the NFL. I mean, I follow it. But not as closely as I do college football. "And observer Wake Forest is like Wake Forest fans are newspaper readers. They're all over older than six. I was gonna say there. There's there's recalling something that I said do the last time that I think makes that point very very relevant lawyers. Yes. Yes. Joe obi's Joe Gilio in Larne Brownlow got together to tell me the story of Wake Forest football. They've worked in the area for a long time. And all agree on one thing here when it comes to football in the state of North Carolina. Wake Forest flies, well below the radar. You have to understand they have the smallest stadium. I believe in division. One certainly power five they had a small stadium. They have to have one of the smallest student bodies. It's tiny relatively speaking. It's also a basketball school in a basketball crazy state and has to compete in the ACC. Against perennial powers. Like, Florida state. Clemson and Virginia Tech football has always been an uphill battle at wake. One story about a recruit coming to Wake Forest sums up the entire Wake Forest football experience. The host was certain that they're recruit would be underwhelmed by Wake Forest. Problem solved. He took the recruit to duke's campus. Instead, here's Joe obi's telling an old story that illustrates Wake Forest place in the pecking order of North Carolina football you'll hear Joe Gilio in there to be had Walker. The head coach Wake Forest gets George to pay a visit. This is one Wake Forest was in the actual city of Wake Forest, which was a small church campus that had a small stadium. Just like it still has a small stadium now. So Walker picks up Bill George at the airport, and then take some straight to duke's campus now nine hundred forty eight wall swayed stadium is a palace fresh off a hosting the Rose Bowl, right? What was wait is a palace in nineteen forty eight. Okay. And you've got the architecture gothic architecture of Duke on the trinity campus. I mean, it's really impressive. So Walker takes them on a tour. And he says this is where you're going to be playing. So Georgia's like dang, all right and George goes on to be an NFL hall of Famer, right? And he plays at Wake Forest he signs, right? There is like sweet. And then he goes to wake force the actual campus after he'd signed, and he starts taking classes, and he's like where the hell am. I what is this? Isn't that? Isn't that the campus? He took me to except for the day that he actually went and played Duke in football. And he's like, wait a minute. This is where I was. And apparently the way, you know, it's all it's all hearsay at this point. But the way the story goes that he goes to behead walkers. I came in. He said this is where I'd be playing and walkers response was full a lot of work at a play here. And here you are you're playing in the stadium right now. And that was that. But it it'll straits where Wake Forest has always been in the pecking order for the big four. Not the greatest program, but still there's money here. Big time college football money and enough lawyers in the area who care enough to write some checks and keep the football program alive in two thousand six the demon deacons actually won their conference for just the second time in history and response the administration gave head coach Jim grove a raise taking a salary to just over two million dollars a year..

"On display left and right is eight may tackles all day and interception. So it's it's just amazing. When you come to Notre Dame, the talent you play with the talent you play against the kinds of coaches, you get when you come to New Orleans, they prepare so well for the NFL, we didn't know exactly what we get from me and book, he's been terrific. What looking up late in the third quarter seen only thirteen points for the? Opponent. We've come to expect that at this early point the season for the Notre Dame defense. They've been terrific against that. I down in San Wake Forest one thirty six left in the third quarter round game around the last side Julian love their Ron Christie Bill Smith out of bounds on that Notre Dame sideline. His teammates liked it to keep it to a gain of two. Julia love coming in like a wrecking ball from the left hash absolutely destroyed destroying colder near Carney. I'm sorry as he got the ball, just brutally tag him out of bounds. That's why the teammates you heard loved clock ticking. Now one Santa left in the third quarter. Second down eight. How's it keeps it himself quarterback draw the Ferdie and across the twenty five brought down easily picks up the first down before? He's tackled by Nick Coleman fourteen yard game. Newman's helmet came off after he was brought to the ground by Coleman of KENDALL. Hidden third quarterback will see today for Wake Forest Newman has to come out after his helmet comes off so hidden listed as the backup quarterback. But he's a third quarterback line today inside a minute the third quarter. First attempt for the Notre Dame. Twenty-three shotgun has it keeps it himself up the middle of the twentieth. Fifteen inside the ten yard touchdown Wake Forest. Candle hidden from twenty three yards out his first boy in the game the quarterback draw. Good for six demand. Just ran his way to the number number one quarterback. They're just fly through the defense coming up the left hash weaving in and out than fake to go back in the middle of feel that swung it outside. And even turned and waved at the north end defender as you cross the goal has four career starts again. He was suspended the first three games this season. Violation of rules. I snap a quarterback ends up in the end zone for twenty three yards out. Nick Skiba missed field goals today. Extra point is up. And that's good. Notre Dame lead. Now, forty four seconds left in the third quarter forty nine that's one over Wake Forest, really the big question. Now moving forward how much more of Ian bulker. We're going to see in this game. Brandon wimbush come in or maybe fill Jacoby the true freshman, maybe do Jacoby still fake to keep e book at one of the things playing with Peyton Manning. Ben rothlisberger. Those guys never came out against how high the score was because they're teaching other players how to play with them as their winning. And that's something that book could do right now is real I chance to work with this offense at leg and to show them. Hey, boys. Let's go. This is where we're going to look like moving forward and y'all got to give him the experience of being calling plays for four straight quarters. Some of those plays are long getting in the huddle. Speaking out, the word that no. It sounds easy. But it actually is very difficult to.

"Was style in profile and as he went through his right down. There thrown his arms having some loose ball handling. But he's feeling it ball first and goal. They call it from the three Armstrong is the tailback the gift to Armstrong. He spent the one but keeps fighting. Inside the one yard line. It'll be second and goal from inside the one too far Armstrong one guy to beat trying to go around to me went right through to the startled startled defender and wasn't able to get there. But definitely left an impact second goal. Get back to Armstrong. He's met in the backfield. But fights his way into the end zone. Touchdown Jaffar Armstrong. I'm Sean jumping into the arms of his offensive lineman to be getting them water played rights hall tonight. Armstrong just inside a one hundred yards rushing all kinds of impressive runs. One yard touchdown right there. I happy had a thirty yard touchdown run. He has been the hammer all afternoon long Notre Dame. Now leading forty one to thirteen game at one point they trail three nothing has been all Irish sense, Justin. You the extra point is up and good. Five fifteen left in the third quarter. Notre Dame leads Wake Forest forty two to thirteen. Nissan knows game day is all about the game winning drive. So rogue has available technologies that will help make the day's best drive getting to the stadium. Nissan, proud supporter of college athletics. Notre Dame responding to its first deficit this season. They trailed three nothing early, but they had come back to dominate the book is played the entire way a quarterback. He has two touchdown passes. He has a touchdown run. Jaffar Armstrong has a pair of touchdown runs. One from thirty yard out one from one Notre Dame in control leading by twenty nine points with a little over five minutes left in the third quarter. It's hard to say what's most impressive to call. The defense has been absolutely stingy offense firing in all cylinders. I think to me Paul. It's all about how quick they are moving offense. Quick into the huddle Jaffar Armstrong back to back. Rhonda eventually get the touchdown this last score. But that was done in a matter of fifteen seconds. Thirty seconds those both those places fast offense impactful offense scoring touchdowns. Not field goals. That's the difference today for the Irish go back to the second quarter into that second quarter. Ryan daughter. Name puts you get four consecutive touchdown drives to get that cushion they took to the halftime locker room twenty eight thirteen now in the third quarter two touchdown drives as well. That one seven plays seventy one yards. Fifty six of those yards coming on the ground. They also finished on the ground. Jaffar Armstrong from a yard out the earlier touchdown drive in the third quarter. In-invoke seventy touchdown to a crossing chase play pool. His first touchdown of the season. We may see a different quarterback now with the with the five score lead here. But also Paul there's something to be said for letting Ian book finish this game. Learnt teach him how to put his pedal to the metal finish his opponent at the quarterback position and inspire. His gay guys. All game long kickoff is in the air and book, by the way, twenty out of twenty nine to thirty eight two touchdowns and no picks. Doors kick sales to the back of the end zone and Wake Forest will begin from its own twenty five yard line. Notre dame. Impressive starts at this half. Eight first downs leading the way of those two touchdowns garage. Six of the first downs from the run one bypass and they accept one for penalty. Fans already starting to leave the stadium sensing the Irish victory at hand. We look across the field there this. I'd say about half full on that side and a whole lot of green over there. The Notre Dame sideline leaving the free towels who leaves a free towel, Jamie. Newman remains a quarterback or Wake Forest Sam Hartman left on the last series Newman. Fires downfield toy. Junior inter subsidies. Seven yard line. And he's tackled. As you tried to cross a field at the forty seven. I play of the drive intercepted by bride junior. Tastic Klay pride junior actually on coverage, but Neath that receiver but seeing the quarterbacks is as he threw the football drifted back all very high almost out of the St Paul as he grabbed the ball down. Securing interception for the zone. Ian Bush John's back out of the field. Just as you said you'd like to see let him finish. Or at the very least go deeper into this game is I start. Two touchdowns. No interceptions. Also has a touchdown run five. Oh, five left in the third quarter Irish leading Wake Forest forty two to thirteen back to the air. Pump fakes plenty of time. Fires deep down the sideline complete inside the fifteen yard line. Chase Klay cruel. That was a pump fake on a short head spoke state in the pocket launched it downfield gain of thirty five the entire offense bringing to the line of scrimmage knowing the possibility of big plays each and every time they run a play. I in San from the wake twelve yard line inside give to every Davis across the ten yard line cuts. It back and gets to the five soup penalty markers. Come in weight as Davis went to the ground eight of seventy ringgit a full face mask or a holding. Here can tell personal. Number five. Paul just thirty seconds ago. There's an interception right now. Thirty seconds later where we're yard and a half away from the end on. This is speed and turnaround that happens and you have prolific passive abilities at the quarterback position. Big completion 35-yards look to Klay pool that I play now I than goal from the to every Davis retail back to the right of book Tuesday. The shotgun snap teaching itself across the five yard line. Touchdown. Second touchdown rushing. Touchdown for book today. He watched as bright and Chris Calhoun collapsed onto Avery Davis. Correct decision to pull the ball turned on the jets outran the demon deacons defender for six. Notre Dame led by the offense and another very strong performance from the defense having their way with Wake Forest leading by thirty five with four eighteen left in the third quarter. Justin, you'd onto its at the extra point. They're all lined up. There's a snap and the whole easy kick. It's good. The fighting Irish Oregon on Wake Forest here. Winston Salem leading forty nine to thirteen in a matter of moments. It was the Troy fry junior interception on the very first play at Wake Forest drive. The book responded with a quick pump fake that a launch down the far sideline. 35-yards? Chase glade book kept it himself for his second such down one. It's forty nine thirteen. Just incredible the entire team jumping up and down. Everybody's excited chased faithful getting high five from everybody the offensive line give each other this. Everybody's pumped up. Jonathan door on the kickoff. Hey, the rest of the Irish adjoined a forty nine thirteen lead here late in the third quarter. In Winston Salem. Touchback demon deacons will start from their own twenty-five, even Dora feeling at volley out of the back of the left corner. Endzone? He's feeling the twos. Let's check in on the sideline with Jack Nola hugest here. There are fifteen or twenty thousand people left in the stadium. But the vast majority up especially over here on the Notre Dame sideline. "Play and then recognizing all right? Bye. Guys are covered. I'm taking off and I'm taking off towards the sideline. Giving me giving myself a little safety blanket in case things get rough. As I crossed the first down marker injured demon deacon walks off the field. He has a ways to go from the far side to the near. Let's check in with Jack. Guys. I'm not surprised that in book has been the quarterback here all the way through it's unusual for three hundred team to change quarterbacks. But this coaching staff believe they needed more out of their offense. Heading into the Stanford in Virginia Tech gauge book took all the snaps during the week with the number one team. But coach Kelly made it clear that either quarterback could play because book had to earn the starting position. I think you'll agree today. He did indeed earn it with so far and outstanding performance in an offense that they need to go with a very stingy defense a great points. Jackie and he started out three for six. But he's now twenty Twenty-eight should point out Wake Forest by far the worst passing defense. The Irish it faced all season. So book doing exactly what his coaches expected him to do takes the shotgun play action. Roles to his right. Plenty of time and fires down the sideline to Kevin Austin caught it, but he was out of bounds. About fifteen yards in front of book is role. Do is right. But he left it a little bit too far out of bounds crossed into keep that foot down one of the things. They're book rules, right? They've had him doing the Virat of things rolling right with two running backs on either side of handing the ball off to back. Two running backs on either side of faking the run pass option throwing the ball deep shown him doing each. And every thing a quarterback can do in a prolific offense, which will make it hard for Stanford. A key in on one aspect of the offense here. Next week. And the next week night game back in south bend Stanford. Big game coming.

But Jamie Newman listed as a third string quarterback comes in KENDALL hidden number two. Remains at receiver. He was suspended the first three games of the season. He has four career starts. But he is not the quarterback who gets the call now. Second down eleven with Hartman out to see what Newman could do on his own twenty four yard line. As kate. Carney is tailback keeps it himself. It's just across that twenty five yard line right up the middle. He goes for a gain of three. Third down here. It'll be interesting. Whether Wake Forest calls a run to just get out of it. They've been known to fall. And watching the film some runs on third and eight this is third down to ninety will pass Notre Dame brings five and he fires to the sideline through late and threw it high stugotz still was there with the coverage love as well. Incomplete. Its fourth down to not stood still great coverage. Right. They're forcing that receiver. They have no choice but to go out bounds. Not able to come back inside the field to the football classic comeback. Route the quarterback from the shotgun. Took a couple of steps. Fired it to the sideline here. But excellent coverage Aaron pass and here comes the punts own twenty six Chris fake. Backing up down. There was on twenty five from his own twenty three cuts to the right breaking tackles. He has more on the left side cost the twenty-five and reaches to the twenty nine. Fifty one yard punt, Chris crispy ran a whole lot more than six total yards. But we call it a six yard return seven forty left in the third quarter. Notre Dame leads Wake Forest thirty five to thirteen or back after this message from Nissan traffic. It can be more stressful than that last. Second hail Mary pass. But.

"So congrats to the Irish defence for holding him under fifty percent also under one hundred yards only ninety six yards passing. So far. Incredible job by the defense. Not just in the stats, but how they've played physical one on one tackles in space Julian love tying the record for pass breakups in a career with thirty one the main. We may see history here. Paul from the shotgun dorks, pardon me. Hartman fires. That's alex. Number. One catches it at the thirty four yard line twelve I down demon deacons deacons back on the line of scrimmage already, but great job by Hartman. Pulling the ball, recognizing the linebackers on the line of scrimmage the received was opening first and ten from their own thirty four yard line delay give inside the burn. And the Irish defence that front there to keep it said no game. John Boehner in there on the tackle Tillery as well. These guys are figuring out this kind of zone. Read that Wake Forest is doing and it's not going well for Wake Forest Hartman from the shotgun working very quickly inside the Colbert Julian Okwara tracks him down from the backside over another no gate, you'd have thought a track sound went off the Tacoma's fired. The work working flying down laterally down the line of scrimmage. This is what you have to do when you're behind an offensive player, and he caught up to him for the tackle Bonnard Tillery. Also there it's a loss of one. So this is third down eleven from the pocket. Hartman in trouble out. You is left side goes down sack the twenty four yard. Julian Okawara there with the sack. Hartman got flushed because Jerry Tillery they did or little endgame where the tech defensive tackle tiller went up field and came outside Tillery.

"One fifty two left until time trailing Notre Dame twenty eight to thirteen Sam Hartman true freshman quarterback Matt Colbourn for tailback kissed the Colpaert across the fifteen yard line drags. Notre Dame, defenders Hayes and also Gilman were a five yards clock is ticking. One forty one one forty Coburn playing possum almost as slow as he's moving behind this offense of wine really tried to hide behind the big fellas. And then getting a quick burst. For five yard was much sense. Of urgency is the Wake Forest offense is shown with the pace all afternoon. They don't seem in any hurry now deep inside Irish territory second down five they give again to Cobra. Tranquil is there Gilman as well as they drop him at the fifteen yard line. The three. The second thirty second. Tranquil one minute sixteen second one one. Tranquil and Gilman loss of three you heard. They called sign out the clock showing one sixteen left until halftime on third down in eight tranquil just firing through that gap. That right side of Wake Forest is lying gave way like a leaky roof just collapsed, and that's what made that tackle for a loss. Excellent defense. Excellent called by darkly, stop them. I don't know why Wake Forest is running the ball. You're on your own ten fifteen yard line. You're down down to scores. You got Aaron this thing out. Notre Dame sixth tackle for a loss today. Let's go to the sideline and check in with Jack. You know, there's no question. Your tranquil is the leader of the Steve fence nobody has earned that captain Seymour. He became his game fourth in the country which seven solo tackles a game. And he continues to make big play after big blank. It's nice for both. You're starting linebackers tops head of the nation at civil tackles like Cody and tranquil third down at eight in the pocket scrambles out across the ten throws on all the move to his left and right in front of George junior. That's a completion for I doubt of fifteen Stephen clone was tackled right away. But a pretty pass from Harvard. He stepped up in the pocket through on his run to the left. I down in San from just inside the thirty Hartman again fires incomplete. Came back to close second down ten now. One minute one second left until halftime Notre Dame leading Wake Forest twenty eight thirteen. Demon deacons showing what I think they should have been doing the last few plays. Gotta air it out you down points. You got a minute to go air that puppy out from their own thirty on second down San apartment in the shotgun. Now looks back to his own sideline. Three people. They're holding up for big poster board. He gets the play drops back to pass Irish rush four they want to the far sideline into coverage. Caught by Wake Forest tackled at the forty eight yard line of wake for a gain of eighteen that Scotty, Washington. His first catch inside of a minute. Now, I down in ten demon deacons from their own forty eight yard line clock ticking now at fifty seconds. Hartman to pass looks to the sideline again that one broken up by Julian law if that pass break-up Julia love now tying Clarence Ellis for the record of career pass breakups at thirty one leads the nation as well. This year in that category is going to be I'm telling you his numbers are like a Harrison Smith. He's going to be a first round pick for the Irish second down ten forty five seconds, lots from their own forty eight Hartman against the format. Rush off his back foot by Storch across the forty cuts. It back still on a speed across the thirty five and goes down to thirty four yard line, Cody tranquil there, but that's a gain of eighteen thirty six seconds left. I doubt intend now from the Notre Dame thirty four injury. Irish avenue injured defender down to the thirty yard line. Troy pride junior. The starting quarterback on a knee. Now rolls over to his backside and lays down to trainers tend to him. Notre Dame leading Wake Forest twenty eight thirteen thirty six seconds left in the second quarter. Irish defence.

"Says middle linebacker at Notre Dame like Pennsylvania middle linebacker. It's part of the DNA of our Irish fiber. He's holding his right leg to trainers out to help him. He's lying on the nineteen just stood up number fifty two Boba our freshman linebacker true. Freshman now walking off the field. Good to see walking off by himself. Major just a cramp. He he will induce that especially with young players. Sam Hartman true freshman quarterback back out of the field for Wake Forest. Meanwhile, Ian book is gone the entire ways completed thirteen of his last fifteen passes for one sixty four five twenty four left until halftime. We'll see what the demon deacons can get going carbon from the shotgun. Colborn is his tailback rides. Impeach himself. Throws across the middle. Oh my gosh. Missed opportunity ball falls. Incomplete. Kendall. Hidden the backup quarterback who was suspended the first three games. Ran a quick slant. About fifteen yards in front of Hartman was wide open and dropped it a hitman almost having a touchdown touchdown right there because it ball was left behind him. Not the best ball from -partment. Either hit did have a couple of steps on the Irish T penalty marker comes out. False start in the off on. I Wake Forest penalty. The afternoon comes with five nineteen left to the second quarter. Notre Dame leading Wake Forest twenty eight thirteen usually always an offensive penalty when the defendant defensive line is pointing to a man at an at an offensive player. Second down fifteen over the tailback which right to left. Hartman from the shotgun. Inside cuts it outside across the twenty five and thirty a he Kelvin Chattan, but not in cell Cobra picks up the first down run out of bounds of the thirty seven yard line. Gained seventeen. Colbert went down right up right behind the center, then bounce it. Right. Then turn laterally to his right. Then started tournament backed up field around the right side numbers there. But the speed of the Irish defence catching up to him anti backfield. Now first and ten from Notre Dame's from their own thirty seven yard line. Carney around the thirty five yard line dropped just as he got back to the line of scrimmage. That was Colbourne with the ball. It'll be second down in San Wake Forest from their own thirty seven yard line. Wake Forest running the exact same place. Sometimes offensive coordinator say, hey, we had success do it again. But that's a sign of a good defense when they stopped the same play play after play empty backfield on second down eleven four thirty until halftime iris come in the blitz. Hartman steps up and goes down right after he crossed the line of scrimmage picked up to Jonathan Bonner there to tackle him. Just as he gotta cross the line third down. Eight four sixteen in counting in the second quarter, Detroit pride junior finding being the coverage corner there that didn't allow that throw force department to run on third and eight partner for the shotgun. Stands intro short of the first down reception. Made at the forty one yard line by Colbourne, but he only picks up two yards. And for the Irish Julian law makes the tackle excellent closing speed by Julian love, who by the way pulse. Two pass breakups away from breaking Clarence Allison. His career pass break-up record of thirty two. So we might see history. And you listeners might hear it today at Wake Forest had a chance to bat. One down the need the good tackle, the solid clean tackle on the short. Completion fourth down in six three thirty three Intel halftime Wake Forest onto punt. They trailed Notre Dame twenty eight to thirteen. Chris fake back to receive fifty three yard return last time. He caught a punt. He's on his own twenty. Let's it bound to the twenty-five takes Notre Dame bounced backward. And it's down to the twenty nine yard line. Of only twenty nine yards with no return. Dame has a chance now to go up three touchdowns. If they're able to score a touchdown here with three minutes and twelve seconds left in book. Doing a really nice job is spread the ball around nine different Irish receivers caught a pass. Led by Mack who has five but running back. Tony Jones junior back in he's on the sidelines for a little while in the shotgun. Books to pass to the left side. Fires that pass was broken up. Excellent job by the Wake Forest defense shoring it loose from chase play pool. He'd run a little one or two yard hitch and had the ball knocked away. Second down. Ten click will have the ball in his hands. But was turning up field before he secured the ball. You've always got a secure the catch the demon deacons defender right there on him as he turned. And then let the ball go. Tony Jones junior back behind book. He gets it off the right side has room across the thirty and the forty brought down at the forty three yard line. Good enough for an Irish I down. Tony Jones off the right side for thirteen yard Jones Jones, frustrated with himself there as he was a tackle. He would have been on a touchdown sprint. I mentioned nine different. Irish receivers have caught the ball. They're getting a lotta yards. Averaging just under twelve yards per completion. First down in ten play action book steps up and he goes down. Book sacked at the thirty seven yard line by Carlos Basham junior. Basham beat left tackle, Ian, Aiken Burg on an inside move. That's the danger of the of the backside Russia's in book, really couldn't see it. As he picked out took down the ball to run ended up getting sacked first time he's been sacked while we have a break and action wait for the time out to end. Let's get it back to what the lead story was coming in and book starting quarterback. Would it be seen so far? I see quick decision baking. I've seen prolific passing. I've seen some zip on the ball ending admission on this off as we really haven't seen kind of a pep in the step not something that showed up on the stat sheet, but matters very much and how you score points of wing games offensively. He's led Notre Dame to the end zone on four consecutive drives. Sixteen out of twenty three for hundred eighty nine yards prolific touchdown pass. It's a rock, right? From two yards out. Also has a touchdown run. You mentioned nine different receivers that gives all those players confidence in this offense. And it gives them the ball second fourteen from his own thirty nine shotgun. That has it. This is a quarterback draw across the forty and also the forty five yard line gets out to the forty seven. Except seven yards. Excellent play. Call by chip long. Ian book they're feeding and faking the run and actually turning his shoulders back as if he's going to pass before taking the ball down running again, just a small nuance that creates such a difference. When you're running those quarterback designed Ron and gets into manageable third down her down in six from his own forty seven yard Lodhi Irish two out of five. Converting third downs from the shotgun. Book has it. Standing in the pocket looking looking rose out to right? Fires almost intercepted. The ball is knocked to the ground. He wanted miles boykin. Amaury Henderson the quarterback for wake got his hands on it Tanaka down at first questionable. Throw. We've seen from bookie through it. There Henderson almost with the pig. Great job by mouth boykin making Henderson fight through the physical receiver to try get that ball, thus creating an incompletion and interception salary Newsom on the funds. I since the first possession of the game. Greg Dorsey back to receive averaging seventeen point zero per return. Also has a couple of returns for touchdown LUSA punks it away. Not as best effort wobbly Faust at eighteen and then goes out of bounds. They market at the thirteen yard line. Punt of forty yards with no return. Great job. I knew some picking a side of the field to get the ball to keeping it in the air. But also getting it out of bounds. Last thing you want right now through Notre Dame is a is a punt return for a touchdown. Cut down the lead.

"That's not Gatorade. It's something else. It looks like eight or eight tastes like it to what is it? Then new Gatorade zero all the electrolytes zero sugar zero sugar. That is something else. Pick up a new orange. Gatorade zero today. Six twenty six left in the second quarter Notre Dame leading Wake Forest twenty one to thirteen the demon deacons. Just went simply seventy five yards back Coburn scored on a two yard touchdown. The extra point cuts the lead to eight Paul Burmeister. Ryan Harrison the boot Jack Nolan with us on the sideline. If you're just joining us at the big question coming into the game the quarterback situation for Notre Dame. Ian book started he's gone the entire way kind of a tough start, but he has steadied the ship, and then at the very least efficient if not really really good sense his numbers right now. He's fourteen out of nineteen one hundred sixteen yards. One touchdown other two touchdowns coming from Tony Jones. A short touchdown run. A thirty yard touchdown. From far Armstrong prolific passing from Ian book is really opening up everything else for this Irish off right now. So we're what we're watching up here in the booth one of the best performances offensively. In terms of run pass mixing run past quite calling that we've seen all season. You. Also love to see the way Notre Dame responded late in that first quarter Ryan to some controversy that they trailed three to nothing, right. Michael young on an end around fumbled deepened demon deacons territory, they scored off of that. So Notre Dame for the first time has responded to a deficit for the first time they're playing well for quarterback. Besides Brandon wimbush is gone the entire way. And they're about to come back on offense. The kick is in the air. Sales into the end zone of the Irish will begin on their own twenty five yard line was six twenty six lap. They've scored touchdowns on three drives in a row. Let's check in with Jack of the sideline guys. I was just able to talk to her football trainer. Rob hunt asked him about how the guys are handling the heat. And he said just fine networked all week on hydrating. It was hot most of the week back at Southend. And to this point they are handling it terrifically. Well, Eighty-three degrees. Sunny, and humid feels like it's closer to ninety degrees down there. Yeah. The Notre Dame offense back out of the field. Ian book remains the quarterback Avery Davis. The tale back to his right. Look from the shotgun keeps it himself. Looks at outside to Armstrong across the twenty five and the thirty puts his head down gets a couple of extra out to the thirty three yard line gain of seven they faked the inside Ron quick pass to Armstrong. He did the rest of self Armstrong Lauren boom on Bassey getting an extra three yards after the reception. Great physicality by Armstrong every Davis remains in the game. Second down threes. We hit the six minute Mark until half. John from the shotgun. Book wants to pass looks to his left. Fires at Avery. Davis. Had something else on his mind. He did a little out and up book through the out. The Irish you're lucky that just fell incomplete. Yeah. Typically that out route you take it to the bottom of the numbers to the left. There is every Davis wet and then you turn up field. Every game is kind of turning to at the top of the numbers. Upfield the book looking for him out there as he was opened the little nuances that make a difference offensively down in three antibacterial from the shotgun. Quick flip outside of Michael young pushed out across the forty and the fifty cuts it back across the forty five and the forty he's running three and Wake Forest territory inside the ten the five one out of bounds at the three yard line. Michael yon with the early fumble response with a great play. Call the ball. The line of scrimmage and ran sixty six yards to the Wake Forest to incredible play by Michael young. He just had three yard play. Then he ducked inside of the defense cutting all the waiver laterally across the field. Then back up for the large game. I the goal from the two Davis the tailback book for. The shotgun. Class keeps it himself across. Pod. Fake, the inside Davis wide open spaces around that right side. He went in easily standing up what I love there is that they got on the ball fast. They weren't happy with their success. Chip long sang get back on the ball running. Another play for Ian book to recognize the defense. Pull the ball from Avery Davis and run into the end zone. All you gotta know. That's one of the greatest quarterback being able to store after a long pass not easy for a lot of us. Quarterbacks is score on a run like that. Plenty room for books to run it in that's four consecutive drives. At the end of the judge down for Notre Dame. Huge extra point is up and in. Five twenty four left in the second quarter. Notre.

"By John Jones, as Jalen Elliott bliss was picked up a John Jones really putting pressure actually hitting the arm of Sam Hartman as he threw the football thus making the completion apartment only four for eleven for twenty five yards on second down. Ten gets it inside. This'll be a first down Wake Forest tackled at the forty seven yard line is Kate Carney. Was it such until he made it into the defensive backfield. Jalen Elliott bay. The stop the Wake Forest gets Twenty-three. Wake Forest finding something in this Irish defence. No other team has found yet has not seen those long runs from any team. So far this season. I intend for their own forty eight and Hartman keeps himself. It's just across the midfield stripe. Thrown down by Jones calm and also from safety spot. The gain is three amazing play by Jones went through the right gap of the offense. Then came back to make the tackle on Hartman. Great finish by Jones second down six from Notre Dame's forty eight. Hartman. Gives it around the left side. No, he keeps it himself. He's in trouble doughty goes he lost a yard Hogan's AJ is there. Jalen Elliott as well. They didn't fall for the fake like play by play guy. Did they do just out of handle that? It's now third down at six. They were really the bread to that sandwich there and Hartman, unfortunately, the beat in stuck in between just got sandwich squeezed and slow to get up after that hit your comes applets office back foot Hartman loss it downfield. No chance once it can't cry is they're Houston Griffin over the top. We do have a penalty marker down in the backfield and the offense it back. Tally. Ouch. Yeah. Outs for Hartmann Hartmann. Just absolutely destroyed at Bonner just landed on him after his hands were up. I don't know that's kind of close. But it looks like it's not us watching the replay Bonner's hands came down over the face mask of the quarterback. Hartman anytime you hit a quarterback's had they're gonna throw that laundry. So instead of facing fourth down and long Hartman and the Wake Forest offense moving forward. Now. First and ten from the Irish thirty three yard line seven fifty nine left till halftime. Arbed gifts inside to Kate Carney. He was met, right? As he got to the line of service. No Kane drew tranquil was there to make the stop about the third time. Carney trying to lower is shoulder into tranquil this Nordam defense, and they stood him up. Every time quick snap. Harpen? Fires out the door too. Across the thirty five and thirty tackled at the twenty seven yard line by Houston Griffin. Save on. Tony was there as well. Gain of six pony back in the game. He taken a couple couple of series off there. To the nod of the speed temple which would wake forces going down and four. Surpass -partment office back once again has a complete to the fifteen yard line. Houston Griffin was his dorks out of bounds. But he ran the little post corner. Nice touch from Hartman. That is a Wake Forest gain of twelve on third down at four George ran up the right hand side hash Mark there turned right out at the last minute. That's why he got the reception. First and ten from the fifteen quick pass incomplete. He faked it inside the Carney set up and fired did a five yard line. Jalen Elliott there to make the clay brings up second down. Ten magilla coming front coming in front of that football right there. I don't know if you wanna test Jillian love, I don't care where it is on the field. If it is man-to-man matchup. He's the best corner in the country. Paul second downtown with Notre Dame. Fifteen Carney up the middle gets across the fifteen but barely. Tranquil there once again Coney also there. Gain of three it'll bring a third down at eight Jalen Hayes raft around the right side of the offense to make that tackle as well. Good team defense. He has it already from a shotgun. Fires to the end zone. Is there? Lots of contact out. Does the flag? Hartman recognize one on one to the outside through it to the back of the endzone safety, Nick Coleman. Number twenty. Questionable. But lots of contact receiver wack down, Paul. Offense off it gets that call. Yeah. Dortch really setting up Nick Griffith, Nicole men there as well looking inside and showing his hands something that the defensive backs wait for and then turned out as he knew the ball would be outside. So great play by veteran receiver trying to fool a very talented secondary. First and goal from the three. It's twenty one six Notre Dame defense tried to keep them out of the end zone. Touchdown back over right up the middle. Wake forest. Impressive drive so six forty six left until halftime. Notre Dame's lead is now Twenty-one swell demon deacons deception there Hartman, looking to his left screaming as receiver snapping the ball handed off to his right. I mean, that's that's a deception right there by the young quarterback. I touchdown allowed in the first half. By the Notre Dame defense all season. Not a bad thing to say about team three and a half games in. And on the road. What they had the stop had to stop. They were gonna face fourth down in long. But the the late hit. So the quarterback the freshman. Sam Hartman fifteen yards gave him a fresh Senate downs. And they cashed in NAT Colbert with short down run for the couple yards. Outfit. Cuts down previous players. They're going to review whether or not the knee was down by Colbert before he crossed the line of scrimmage. I don't think he's even going down until he crosses. Yeah. This is going to be a touchdown watching the replay right now you just heard on his offensive lineman. I think the referees didn't know whether or not he had fallen on the ground thank gotten up to the end zone. Back Coburn from two yards out. Touchdown.

"Suzano nine yard line. Dortch has it on his own one? Now crosses the ten. And a fifteen brought down after seventeen yard line makes it out to the eighteen return of seventeen yards volt power my favorite Irish football player. You've yet to meet with the tackle. They're huge play Paul when you anytime you can get the the offense to start behind their own twenty. It really sets them up for failure statistically eleven eighteen left until halftime demon deacons lead at one point three to nothing for Sam all season Notre Dame trailed came right back with a touchdown drive. Jaffar Armstrong with a thirty yard touchdown run. Last drive ended with Brock right? Such down. Fourteen six Wake Forest with the ball. Now. First and ten from their own eighteen yard line. San hartman. Did not give it in time. He is hard in the backfield. And he goes down at the fifteen yard line. Tackle made by Jones John Jones right there. Just absolutely tattooing. Hartman couldn't even think about what he wanted to do it that ball so fast, a heartland was thinking right away should have given that ball pct. From the tailback. Now second down thirteen has at this time across the fifteen yard line. But his tackle the nineteen after a gain of four by Jonathan bond in there because the northern a little confused to start where they should line up all four defensive linemen. Standing up at the snap of the ball. Big down here for Wake Forest third-down at nine from their own nineteen yard line, Irish spring, Fahd Hartman and shovel backs up. He's gonna go down on his own five yard line. Drew trae, call his linebacker spot finished him off. Hartman was already backpedaling because of the pressure from Kareem. Right into the arms of tranquil dropped him for a loss and nine tranquil on a delayed blitz because the running back state and Khalid Korean forcing apartment of role to his left right where he met drew tranquil captain into the Notre Dame defense that was a huge stop for Notre Dame. And they put the ball back. The punter punting from his own endzone right now. Dom five yards deep in his own endzone. Crispy on the fifty yard line waiting for that punch in the air think backs up from his own forty four yard line has it across the forty five and fifty and approaches the forty yard line still moving inside the twenty yard line to the team and the ten down inside the five yard line by the punter. John nasio. Fifty three yards on the return of a forty six yard Quant. Notre Dame will have it first and goal from the four yard line running by he went inside of me went outside of you. What inside it outside and finished outside their Paul almost getting to the end zone. Great blocking by Nico for Titas. Well, awesome play on special teams. Nothing can jump. Start your entire team. Like a big special teams play like that break blocked by Ronald Reagan as well. Chris fake, big rich, and Ian Bush chip long Brian Kelly how much they love this already leading fourteen to six now. First and goal from the four yard line. Tailback is Tony Jones. Twenty nine left until halftime the fake book. Just listen to play another down strong demeanor from book rolled right? Chris fake jumping up and down doing jumping jacks to his left at good Sam. He was wide open for a touchdown that big return. But excellent decision right there by Ian book to throw the ball, not just out of balanced koffler. No one can catch it second. Go from the four Tony Jones detail back gives the Jones off the right side cuts. It back. Across the goal line. Touchdown Notre Dame. There is a penalty marker on the six yard line. "Plenty of room. The end zone. Touchdown irish. Jaffar Armstrong from thirty yards out fourth rushing touchdown in the season for Jaffar Armstrong that came after Notre Dame was trailing for the first time this year. But the eighth ranked Irish your ahead seven to three against Wake Forest through one coder for the start of the second quarter. We go back out to BBN field alongside Jack Nolan. Ryan, here's here's Paul Meister. Thank you very much. I play of the second quarter on fourth down in three from the Notre Dame. Twenty one will be a field goal attempt by Nick, Stephen. He's been busy today. He missed from thirty seven connected from thirty. And this is from thirty eight yards away waits for the snap. There is hold us down kick us up plenty of leg on it. Through Skiba is to for three this afternoon. And Notre Dame's lead has been cut the seven to six. We've seen right away. What we talked about before the teams ran out of the field. The pace of play the Wake Forest would use. We know so many teams right now going oh so fast pace but Wake Forest kicking it up a notch. Are they going about four or five seconds faster than most teams again? They ran one hundred five plays last week against Boston College that was a school record, and they are moving at an incredible pace today. One of the reasons why they can do that. Sam Hartman understands this offense reminds me a lot of only run fast plays with Peyton back on the ball, you giving orders at the line scrimmage. You can get on the line of scrimmage before play the being called and that really puts pressure on the defense. He can't make exit. You can't make substitution offensive line wise. You can't make substitution of the secondary. So you really are in your kind of Basti, fetch what you start with giving the offense an advantage. So Michael young the young wide receiver is back to receive. I kinda wondered about that. As the ball is now. The last time he touched the ball. He fumbled it in the first quarter. Wake Forest picked it up and took it back to the thirteen. Now, he stumbles out of the end zone brings it out to the eighteen yard line kinda hesitated. Caught a two yard steep. Bring it out or naughty stopped right at the one yard line realized he couldn't take a knee there and rent rented out to the nineteen yard line. Tony Jones trying to tell me keep it in. But once you go one of my favorite coaches, always said if you'd think it do it. They can't take a step. And then say, I know you got to go you think you've got it go because every second five yards in football. Let's check in with Jack Nolan on the sideline but Ryan picked it up. Just too far Armstrong who is waving stay in stay in. So Michael started stuttered and then found out he gets step that in the end zone, and he had no choice from the shotgun. Ian book has gone. The hallway gives it inside keeps it himself out to Chris fake cuts. It back a couple of times nifty moved out to the twenty seven yard line. So book fake the inside gift flipped it out to Vancouver gains, eight yards and book when he rolled left there. After pulling the ball, really dip, the shoulders towards the line of scrimmage, Megan. That defense Nick is going to run. That's what opened up the field for book. Eight for eleven for seventy four yards. Armstrong is. The tailback. He has the Baltimore plenty of room. I some across the forty five out to the forty nine yard line. He had a thirty yard touchdown ROY late in the first quarter that sound gets free for twenty one. They found something between Alex bars and Lee, Mike and birth. There are holes there in the Wake Forest defense. And they're taking advantage of the first down in San from their own forty nine yard line. Notre Dame leads wait seventy six book rolls out to his right? Flips it out near sideline little pitch and catch to Chris fake catches it at the forty six yard line a five for Armstrong. They're picking up a blitz. Allowing book to roll right and find this is the team offense that that keeps the Irish going play after play in this Dr second down five Notre Dame. They're now working inside a Wake Forest territory thirteen forty five left in the second book. Plenty of time for the shotgun comes underneath to fake again cuts at that. I got across the thirty-five tackle at the thirty one yard line. Three catches on this drive that one his best for fifteen. I can't say enough about the nuance that Ian book is showing staring down miles boykin making safeties and corners think he's going there with the ball and think was underneath. And then looked at the last second and found him rate nuance by Ian book from the shotgun. Book. Throw it on first down rolls out to his lap is to Avery. Davis. Catches it at the twenty five and his tackled at the twenty three yard line. Book. Right. They're placing it to the inside shoulder of Avery away. From a defender again showing an elite understanding of execution at that quarterback position. Put the court put the ball for the receiver can run second down one book gives it to Davis round the left side of the twentieth. Fifteen yard line I down Avery Davis. Back to back touches. Tackled by safety Cameron. Glenn beck. Davis gets ten yards. It'll be first down in ten Notre Dame from the demon deacons twelve yard line, Alex bars and Trevor rule and leading the way they're pulling left and opening up that space for everyday was to get up field. Davis tailback behind book from the shotgun. Play action. Gives back has it across the ten and reaches out to the nine yard line, a free tackled by these safety Chuck way junior. The interesting to see from us Paul for us what they do offensively here. You might wanna take a shot to the end zone as if you get close you're going to be in the goal line area that lose Ona's the Irish call second down seven Notre Dame from the nine yard line of Wake Forest. Completed his last nine passes looks to the end zone touch past. Allison Mack, all those coated with one hand. Book tried to loft it over the linebacker. Justin stern ad. In the back of the endzone MAC dough Ford got his left hand underneath it. But couldn't bring it out. I like that play. Call taking his shot to the end zone Irish fans. You might have heard the food there a lot of Irish faithfulness stands wanting a flag. Right. They're not sure I don't agree with the ball down in seven Notre Dame from the demon deacon nine yard line. Ian book looking to the sideline. He's completed nine of his last ten Jaffar Armstrong the back to his left MAC goes in motion from the shotgun. Book has it looks to his left steps. Back. Fires to the three yard line has a complete two miles boykin. But he's tackled. White. Their one yard short of the first down gain of six Irish gonna keep the offense on the field. I liked the second time they're going for it on fourth down here today ball. In book look into the sideline down in one. From the three yard line. Notre Dame leading Wake Forest seven to six. Too far Armstrong is the tailback wish you're in as the fullback. As you heard Wake Forest defensively calls a time out, and we'll stay right here with you fourth down in one. From the three yard line of Wake Forest while the teams are huddling up on the sidelines. Go to the sideline herself check in with Jack Nolan guys would unload about this. Dr is Notre Dame is Wake Forest Wake Forest with an uptempo offense. That has not allowed Wake Forest the substitute on defense or even catch their breath. They had marched right down the field. And I think this is the kind of tempo in execution that the coaching staff was hoping to get from Ian book who's pretty mobile, but is more accurate than wimbush. And he has done a terrific job on his drive. Finding open receivers Jack mentioned it, you know, what? When Brandon wimbush rolls out. He's looking to run in book rolling out. He's looking to pass. I now what whether one one is better. Who knows? But it's being it's effective right now for a book in this hour shop they're getting ready to hopefully score here. I'd say awfully affected. Ryan six out of seven. That's what he in book is on this drive. The drive wire that ended with a thirty yard touchdown run by Jaffar Armstrong book was four out of four. I was MAC was his favorite target on that Dr defense coming back out onto the field. Offense for Notre Dame as well. Fourth down in one from the Wake Forest three yard line. Jaffar Armstrong is the tailback Brock right acting as a fullback wisher in the game as well. And he and book under center. Brooke with the play action rose to his left foot city end zone. Touchdown. Why? Book right there. Just pull turned to his left held out. The football really leaned out making defenders thinking was run sucked up the left side of the defense. And that's right. Where Brock rights slipped around quick turnaround by Ian book through the touchdown. Fantastic. Play. Call fantastic disguised by Ian book. Awesome. Touchdown for the Irish terrific execution. When you're running game is going that. Well, you get out the I formation and fake it to the back the fullback who was a tight end. That's I've oftentimes we'll be wide open in the flat. And that's what he invoked down extra point is up and the extra point is good back to back. Touchdown drives for the Irish eleven twenty five left in the second quarter and Notre Dame leading Wake Forest fourteen.

"I'm bell like and how slow he's coming. A crossing the line of scrimmage tenth play this Dr second down sand from the Notre Dame twenty four yard line. -partment keeps it himself right up the middle of nowhere to go. Julian Aguero was there. Right. When he got to the line of scrimmage, a loss one and that kind of a playoff war just throwing him down to the turf Hartman, you're gonna feel that one. You'll think about it next time he thinks about catch keeping the ball run. Third down eleven empty backfield for the Notre Dame twenty five hundred keeps it himself up. The middle. Initially had a hold of Notre Dame defense there to close it down. He makes it to the twenty yard line picks up five. Bring up fourth down in six. Interesting. Wake forest. She's gonna kick a field goal here. They must think that they have a chance in this game kicker. Nick Skibo actually has missed from this distance one hundred thirty yards. It's tough for him here by thirty one yard kick. And he was this person on the field some confusing Skiba just came out onto the field. This'll be an attempt. Have you ever seen that from thirty seven yards away? Waiting. For the snap poll was down. The kick is up. Uprights? No good. Second missing the season for St.. Could had something to do with the fact that he was the last person on the field there all set up in the field goal formation. They said, where's the kicker? Everybody knew it was time to kick. A field goal accepts the kicker. Six six thirty three left in the first quarter. No score between Notre Dame and Wake Forest. We're back after this message from Gatorade. How's.

"Based around how quickly he gets rid of the football. And how accurate he is with it? They've loved what they've seen in practice. I think more so than something they're not seeing from Brandon. I think they've been so impressed with Ian and practice. They wanna see how that translates to again. And again, this is the perfect way to do it his strength throwing the football. That's gonna be Wake Forest as weakness. But also has a ninety two ninety three spin rate as something that coach Kelly talked to us about giving an example Aaron Rodgers throws his football about ninety five spin Rachel in elite level of velocity that Ian book has I'm with you, maybe coaches want to see it because I guess Michigan wimbush had led the team in rushing against ball state had a career. Passing day two hundred ninety seven yards and last week. I thought he had his best game from a decision quickness standpoint, but coaches, get paid the big bucks to make these kind of calls Paul speaking a best game when he leads on the running game. Tony Jones junior coming off his best game ever seventeen carries one hundred eighteen yards. He is one of the two Irish deep again moving from our right to the leftist special teams on the field right now. Before hash number eighty seven. Michael young ready to take the kick in. We also have. Jaffar Armstrong number eight detail back who see plenty of him along with Tony Jones ball is in the air. Michael young from three yards. Deep takes a d. And Notre Dame fighting Irish offense about to come out of the field for the first time. I started the season second of his career for Ian book. Recently, a Washington state commit change to Notre Dame. And as we talked about every step of the way on campus been slowly impressing, the coaches would how well he runs this offense. How quickly the ball comes out? And how accurate he is? With it. First down in ten from the twenty five. Tony Jones junior tailback behind book. He lines up in the shotgun to wideouts to his right? Keeps himself throws has a completion. To Alex Mack across the thirty first down Notre Dame, a quick exit. Look up the middle a rollout to the right back. Picks up twelve. Yeah. The big thing there. Wake Forest defense is in a cover to meaning to safeties back. That's a run look. So they've got picked up by the run sucked up. And that's when he made the throw to his right? Great strike. The book was a for against Wake Forest last year starts out one for one. Inside the Tony Jones nothing the demon deacons defense was right there to limit that to a gain of one. Tough to go right there down the middle. That's the heart of this defense Zeke Rodney guy here for white force. He's going to be in the NFL. They decided to test the Murli they keep doing that. They might only get one or two yards of time fourteen nineteen left in the first quarter. This is second down and nine Ian book fakes the end around. Plenty of room flushed out to his right. Trump's it out of the backfield to Jones catches it. And is brought down before he gets to the forty yard line Qena to we'll see the first third down situation now for Ian, book tackle for Wake Forest by Justin stirred at interesting and creative play by both that chase Klay pool. Streaking down the scene. But nothing was their coverage is their book grow to his right. And then found Jones junior fantastic creativity by her down in seven Notre Dame. Thirteen forty one lutts for the shotgun. Book has quickly looks to his right. Fires. Perfect strike for the first time on the far sideline. Kevin Austin, the true freshman picks up ten on the comeback rows. Excellent throw to his right. Looking and waiting there. The entire time for boy going to get open. Got a penalty there. We couldn't hear it. Referee didn't have the microphone on five yard penalty is going to bring it back. But there's another zip here to this offense that we haven't seen yet. So far this season. So that'll bring up that five yard penalty. Indicates of course, down ball came out quickly. Accurately, but it's now third down in fourteen both for the shotgun of the four hash deacons. Bring three steps up. He's in trouble escapes looking down from the thirty keeps it himself and runs out of bounds. Nowhere near force. Now. He escaped the initial presser rolled out found extra John didn't he likes to pick up one to bring up the twelfth? And that kinda shows the elite decision making that book has I mean, sometimes a young guy in his first start coming out like that is going to try and make a big play in the season. But he recognized it wasn't anything. They're getting out of bounds. Paul your quarterback. Sometimes the bad plays. The best play avoid the negative play. Bring out Tyler Newsom average almost sixty yards per points against Vanderbilt. This won his first one is off. It's a high effort Greg torch, fair catch happy twenty one yard line. Some forty three yard punt return twelve forty four left in the first quarter. No score between Notre Dame and Wake Forest..

"The Notre Dame fighting Irish this is ESPN one thousand. Notre Dame comes in as an undefeated football teams and to begin with on defense their accident. They have yet to give up more than seventeen points. So they played Michigan ball state and Vanderbilt given up seventeen sixteen and seventeen points. We know the defense. Well, coach Lee had been on my staff at both bowling green and Wake Forest. He learned this defense from coach Elko. There's a lot of similarities to what we do. And we know while we're very familiar with it. And they're executing it at a very high level right now. Wake Forest head coach, Dave Clawson, summing up. The biggest challenge that lies ahead for his team. This Notre Dame defense has been special through three games. And there are a big reason why Notre Dame is three to start the eighth ranked Irish battle against Wake Forest today. In Winston Salem, North Carolina. Let's now flip over to Notre Dame side for the rest of our quotes the week. We go to head coach Brian Kelly next and. As much as we've heard about the quarterback dilemma, a subtle note through the first three games has been that tae-bong Coney. Andrew tranquil have played every defensive snap. But coach Kelly shut down any notion of be concerned about that in his press conferences week thing at the rest of their career arrests. I mean, they're young. I mean. We're who I think we do a great job with. Taking care of our players making sure that they're they're getting treatment. But we might be making a little bit too much of how many reps they're getting there in great shape. Physically drew is he takes great shit. Great care of his body. We'd like to find a way to to give them a a some plays off here there. Let's go as football season play. If we could find a couple of plays off here there. We'll try. It's all hands on deck. Staying on defense. The Irish have done well against the past four interceptions. So far for the Notre Dame defense and safety. Jalen Elliott says it's been the collective accountability of this group. That's enabled them to have success. Think we've lost of the I think that was the biggest day for us was just making sure that as a whole unit. The back end wasn't a liability. When we were we had the opportunity to make pleasure made those plays, and we competed for everybody that was in there, and it's been the tone early. That's also propelled Notre Dame to three wins zero touchdowns allowed in the first half. So far this year for Notre Dame? And according to defensive lineman, Jerry Tillery that early to nasty has been the key. I think we've started fast. I mean, we were making plays on the different line backhands helping us out. And we're having fun. We're making plays. That's what it's all about. And against the freshman quarterback in Wake Forest Sam Hartman, the Irish hope to put together another defensive show back into the locker room later in our pre game coverage from punter Tyler Nusa man, head coach Brian Kelly, but up next we bring you look at this date and Notre Dame football history. Now this word from Gatorade. How's that Gatorade? That's not Gatorade. It's something else. It looks like eight or eight tastes like it to what is it? Then new Gatorade zero all the electrolytes zero sugar zero sugar that is something else. Pick up a new orange. Gatorade.
