"I respect Mike Zimmer a ton. When I watch film of Mike Zimmer's defenses, I'm like, every game I feel like I'm like, well, that's an impossible blitz. That's an impossible coverage. That's amazing. I'm like, he's really good. He's hard to beat on defense. He's awesome. And I think if you paired Mike Zimmer with a young offensive minded head coach, say, like, Kellen Moore becomes a head coach somewhere. And he's like, hey, I want to bring my Zimmer along as my defensive coordinator because he's got a lot of valuable wisdom for a first year head coach that's on the offensive side of the ball. Mike Zimmer is a perfect, perfect fit to be a defensive coordinator. They're kind of like wade Phillips was the defensive coordinator for Sean mcvay's first couple years in LA with the rams. So now, is my Zimmer willing to be the number two guy? Is he willing to not be the boss? I don't know. But Mike Zimmer is a guy who is a free agent. He's a potential defensive coordinator. And he's going to be a really good hire for somebody around the NFL. Now, the Vikings also fired their general manager Rick spielman. And the big story from the end of Mike Zimmer and Rick spielman's run in Minnesota was that in 2017 they went to the end of the 2017 season they went to the NFC championship game in a case Keenum at quarterback. Yeah yes I'm kind of think of war of the guys that i worked for I loved to work was two years with wade phillips more dinner. I've vince tobin. I liked him all boy. That's a hard one. Because i have respect for these guys i don't i don't have any eight my heart from yes so I really enjoyed you know most of my career. I worked for defensive head coach and bottom line. We were successful offense and let me do what i wanted to do. And so it was really fun to do that. paul wiggin. I worked for at stanford. I the guy's a great guy i'd go. I'd go to war every day for him. So you walsh who's a big influence on me Being a stanford right near the forty niners. So that's really a hard one to say you pay. An and fox is probably one of the great coaching staffs of all time. Would you agree with that. I mean that's that's a. that's the three musketeers. That's a nice little tree right there. Well will say this. When i hired john fox he had one offer to be a db coach. He wasn't going to be a coordinator anywhere. And george young questioned me about jim. Fired raiders yet. I heard it so he was going back to college and i really like shawn because he was a good guy and i could frame to be a coordinator to playcaller and all that stuff. Because he hadn't done it. He's only had one year in the nfl as a quality control guy so he was really green behind the but i liked his attitude. I interviewed ten coaches for the quarterback job. I was running the offense. And i wanted a guy that i thought you know. This guy sticks with me to three or four years. He would have the potential to be a coordinator and then i made him the coordinator after my mom died and was worn out and turned play calling over to him. I was worn out. I will say this Would not have bet on Bill O'Brien being the first head coach to get fired last year. And he Woz thank you was like 15 to 1 on the odds board going into the season last year. Most because Bill O'Brien have been given the run of the place with Houston had been made the general manager now he'd made a lot of moves. That would seem to forecast that, at the very least, the Texans would take away his general manager duties because he was not good at that job. He was in Okay. Head coach. He wasn't horrible and won a couple divisions. People look back now and just say what a joke Bill O'Brien was and is the general manager. He was bad, but it's a head coach. He was average. You know, he was average. That's not an insult. It's not necessarily a compliment. I just think it's data. It's just factual. He was average. But they had a really hard scheduled to start the year. If I bet on a coach, you're fired first. There's no doubt that if he was fired first, he had a lot to do with that. Obviously he was bad at his job, which one that ticket for you as opposed to in a fantasy league. Then you go up to a player who was good at his job saying, Hey, you want my fantasy league for me? Hey, Derrick Henry. I drafted you first. Overall, You want my league for me? That happens to a lot of guys who get walked up to and People share Fantasy anecdotes with them. As far as this year's first head coach to be fired. The favorite on the board is Mike McCarthy at 7.5 to 1. I don't think that's great value because I think that Mike McCarthy is, I think Mike McCarthy Is still gonna be here this year, like Jerry Jones is incredibly patient with head coaches. At least that's what the evidence appears. He's pretty patient with Wade Phillips, who began Jason Garrett, who use incredibly patient with unless Jerry Jones just looked at the landscape and says, I'm not getting any younger. Do I wanna slog through this Mike McCarthy thing? Plus, Mike McCarthy had to go through this for his whole first year with no Dak Prescott for most of the year.
