"I hope you have a good weekend. I am blessed. Virtually always I can say I did. And I walked around with a lot of gratitude. The key to a good life is gratitude. So today, is it today? I think it is, right? So let me get this straight in Los Angeles. I'm broadcasting from right outside Los Angeles. Glendale, California. Which is its own city, so in Glendale, at this point, do you have to show a vaccination certificate? To get into a restaurant or wait so long that is a hair salons, nail salons, the like, that's LA county, correct? And that I believe does begin today. No, no, LA county. I think so. I think so, 'cause I live in LA county not in LA city and I don't believe I can get a haircut. Where I live. That that's my take a look. So look it up. Ellie county salons. Put that. I think that would probably get it cut it for you. But anyway, in LA, listen to this from the Los Angeles Times, which of course is for anything that the bribes people of freedom except abortion. Is this the beginning of the end Kim prince asked during a recent phone call? We have been in a period of pivot pivot pivot. I just want to fry chicken. A Monday prince who owns hot ville restaurant in the Baldwin hills Crenshaw mall, and all other restaurants in the city of Los Angeles will have to pivot again to comply with a new ordinance that requires customers to show proof of a vaccine, or a negative COVID-19 test. To dine indoors. Enforcement of the ordinance which covers shopping malls, movie theaters, beauty saloons and other indoor activities will start November 29th. Oh. So. Thought it starts today. There aren't bad enough November 29th. And remained in effect until the city lifts its COVID-19. By the way, why don't they think? So are people dropping dead until November 29th? What is the thinking of the people who are ruining Los Angeles in every possible way? What is their thinking? Eric garcetti, Barbara Ferrer is at a name Ferrer. The head of health, as I said last week, if you have a degree in public health I think of you as I do those who have a degree in gender studies for education. You really got your mind. Twisted and your ability to think clearly. Very, very profoundly hurt. The ruining more businesses. Godzilla, I so feel for these people. I think, you know, where I live, it's mostly Vietnamese who run nail salons. For pedicures manicures. And they came from Vietnam, none of them had it easy. This incredibly difficult life. I just finished a 900 page book on the Vietnam War, and the end which was about it was very short the end because he really does deal with the war, it doesn't deal with what happens after the war, but after the war, the number of South Vietnamese, whose lives were destroyed by the communists so large. That's why they were boat people. People risked being murdered by pirates on the seas. Drowning, and their crappy little boats because of their crappy little boats. Being eaten by sharks and the women risked being raped on the high seas. To get out of the communist hell that all communists create, and will, in the United States, if allowed. Then they come to the United States, penniless. They work their way through a nail salon. And then the left in America destroys them. The left in Vietnam destroyed them, and the left in America will destroy them. And the beauty of being on the left is, you think you're doing something good. Because there is no moral compass on the left. I used to think it was broken. I don't think it exists. And I bring you examples every single day. Why is it one is it LA, New York San Francisco, any of the cities? Or having this ordinance? Isn't that quite something? Big cities, which I always considered to be. The worst places morally in any society. And Democrats. That's it. It's a horrible combination. I have more evidence that Philadelphia may be the most destructive city of its own people. The more evidence of that, that I'll offer later. It took a long time for me to realize how terrible the grip of the left is on Philadelphia. But I finally awoke because too many stories came from Philadelphia. People still vote that way. If it's a big city, it's been ruined. This an article where did you send me the article? Of a sort of luxury condominium building in San Francisco, and what's happened to its street? Did you see that story? They're afraid to leave their building. Homeless, some of whom are violent, some of whom leaf fecal matter in front of their in front of their apartment building. And I'll bet that most of the people in that building vote Democrat. And I'll bet they still will. I don't think there's anything Democrats could do to ruin people's lives that would make that would convince 20%. One out of 5 to vote Republican. So deep is the brainwash. Where for the little guy in the Republicans or not? It so deep. It's a deeper brainwash than any other single thing in society. We're good, Republicans bad. The amount that has come out now Walt, which I'll talk about later. About the Hillary Clinton campaign being behind the gigantic, the biggest lie of my lifetime, Russian collusion with the Trump campaign. I called it a lie from the outset. It was so obviously a lie. This country was transfixed. The New York Times Washington Post LA times your newspaper colluded in the biggest lie in American history for two years. Will they rethink what happened? Will they say they're sorry? 25 years ago I wrote, being on the left means never having to say you're sorry. Correct? Correct. They won Pulitzer prizes for it. That's right. For investigating a lie and compounding the line. I am one of those hook line and singer buy into the original is and the price. This'll be learning more simpson criticisms of their original new release. Yeah yeah very unpredictable. I i bet. I can tell i but i can know why you're on critical because i was. Let's see how allows nineteen when oslo prize And is only one reason that i'm critical of it and dr bond. Sorry boy this you've heard me say this. Two million times is the two main. The first time. I was raised in the new york metropolitan area but specifically newark new jersey. We had five black public affairs. Television shows that air on weekends five. We count the national. Tony brown's journal and we count the national essence magazine right. The most radical these programs was one the air on the abc affiliate and it was called like it is with gil noble. I wanna i was so good episode right and like it is and i guess yeah. Everybody remembers owed absolutely. But he'll again say as name again on dr perry. Who was the black informant who infiltrated several blog organizations and destroyed several blab organizations on the west coast estimate. Al gil noble like it is with gil noble arthur. Choose dr think that's what it is. Just noble was a public affairs program that aired on. Wabc television new york affiliate of wabc tv from nineteen sixty eight. I was three months old air and it ended in two thousand eleven after gil noble had a stroke and died and it is one of the best archive will programs along with by the way another program coming out of the south called for the people with mr dope middleton. These programs were two of the best programs that black people ever produced about black history by coach and politics and he's simple youtube search. In fact you'll know memorial is on youtube right a simple a simple youtube search for it is gil mobile and mister gold middleton for the people you'll find hours hours of things. Some of them were edited than others. Right because i can tell. Some people like certain content edited content allocated like right but you'll find hours of content about what these two black men produced And the reason i bring up like it is is because see like it is in one thousand nine hundred eighty in washington nineteen eighty but the thing is always repeat and repeat. It's they would do. They would not only do documentaries. They were series of documentaries. So one of the in nineteen eighty was called a decade of struggle. Now it's clear that you'll mobile sold it to the to the affiliate by going to do the black movement from the point of view..

"Developed as a basketball player, he was that finesse perimeter score. So it's second nature for him to fall back on that, right? Making the adjustment to be that downhill rumble scorer draw the contact, draw the file as get to the line, that's not natural for him. So he's been making that adjustment, and I think it's trending in the right direction to have those free throws continue to add up. And I think because of his muscle gain because of what he's been working on this summer with your handling. I think it's extremely likely, and they're going to need it too because this team is limited on offense outside of him and jaylen Brown. So they're going to need Jason hid we get to line. And I think it's pretty likely that it's going to be more so than in years past. We've had a lot of conversation on this show over the off season about these two guys. Really not, I mean, for years, it has been limited to the last couple of months about just, you know, how they coexist. And it's a lot of people talk about it. I really like now that even jaylen Brown is talking about it. You know, he was asked about it obviously. You know, training camp early stages here and you know, I just, I made notice some of the things that he said because I thought they were so interesting. Like Jayson Tatum gets asked about this and he just kind of, you know, you know, we're Friends. We like each other. We play well, but that's about it. I mean, Jason Tatum, he's just not the best interview. And I think that's by choice, not because he can't be. He just doesn't feel like saying much. Jalen Brown, opts to be much more expansive, which, you know, in our position we enjoy. But you know, talking about their relationship, said it's based around respect for one another, he called Tatum one of the greats in the game. He hopes to obviously become that as well for himself. Media, he acknowledged likes to pit them against one another, sort of a Batman and Robin thing as opposed to just, you know, why can't we both be too great players on the same team? You know, they root for one another. They can absolutely coexist. They trust one another. This is a total buy in. They're just two guys who can hoop. He hopes they can be the best version of themselves on and on and on. How much do you like hearing this? You know, again, it's common sense to know it. I think in a lot of different ways, we don't have to be driving Brown out of town hoping to get Carl Anthony towns here or whatever. You know, that type of off season hot take he kind of discussion that ends up happening. How much do you like hearing him acknowledge the, like, look, we're good here, guys. Yeah, hearing him acknowledge it is it's reassuring. I mean, I think for people who follow the team closely who are around the team a decent amount, it's obvious that they coexist. You're right, Jason Tatum, like Bill Belichick would love Jason Tatum. He just doesn't really say much about anything. So you're not really gonna get a whole lot out of him..

"Of your kinney coleman and before we start today's episode with the second installment on our four part series of is permanent broken. Here's your weekly bourbon news. Update if you your store. Or maybe a private group picked a george remus barrel. This past year. Get ready to have it in your hands soon. Because lex go announced that george remain. Single barrel selections are headed to participating retailers in september all single barrel selections for george ramos. Were done back in march of this past year for everyone and they got to choose barrels between the twenty one percent and thirty six percent. Rye mash bills all coming from mgp. So that's good news for private barrel club members because we picked barrel number five seventy two back in march and that's gonna be in hands very soon as well barton. Seventeen ninety two just wrapped up. Its twenty five million dollar warehouse expansion which is an investment to increase barrel storage capacity by around twenty five percent this expansion on the distillery construction of three new warehouses. And the i was built on site at the historic distillery which is the first one since nineteen sixty. three warehouse. Thirty three was the first warehouse be built. It was completed back in february and now is nearly filled with new barrels of whiskey or house. Thirty four was built this past summer in about seventy percent filled with barrels. And we're house thirty five just completed with new barrels coming in and just the next few weeks. These warehouses are made of traditional wood floors. And woodstoves wrecking with metal siding or house. Thirty three holds around thirty three thousand five hundred barrels and warehouses. Thirty four and thirty five hold around fifty eight thousand eight hundred barrels each and as just for reference the existing warehouses on the disbelief property hold respectively around nineteen thousand six hundred barrels each so doubling in almost tripling capacity and size here now we focus on urban a lot but there is a rising star in the whiskey world. And that's the american single malt. Today there is nothing that legally defines. What an american single malt category is. But that may change soon. The american single malt whisky commission has been lobbying for this change for some time and there was a newsletter that was distributed last week that said they anticipate the tb may put this into law by spring of next year and this would consist of a few requirements such as made from one hundred percent of multi barley that was mashed distilled amateur at one distillery in the united states. It was matured in oak casks. No larger than seven hundred leaders around one hundred eighty five gallons distill still no more than one hundred sixty proof and bottled at no less than eighty proof or soldier bourbon which was created by retired members of the us special forces who were among the first inter afghanistan following the terrorist attacks on september eleventh. Two thousand one are now planning to build a new distillery and visitor destination in pulaski county kentucky otherwise known as somerset kentucky. This is a two hundred million dollar tourism project that will boast eight twenty seven thousand five hundred eighty foot square put distillery and visitor centre. Five thousand person amphitheatre. Five hundred person outdoor space thirty two hundred square foot wedding chapel in activity centre shops and more while creating fifty new jobs for the area. The company has also been approved by the kentucky tourism development finance authority around thirty million dollars in incentives for this new project and moving onto some release makers mark is releasing its latest and the wood finishing series called f e zero. Two or fatty acid esters in this comes after the release of f. a. e. zero one maker's mark has never chill filtered whisky and that was a decision to allow the classic bourbon to retain signature character and depth of flavor by leaving natural present. Fatty acid esters faa zero to produce using fully matured cask. Strength maker's mark. That was finished in a secondary barrel. That was double heat treated with virgin oak french barrel staves that undergo an infrared exposure prior to a flaming toast finish. It's bottle that one hundred nine point one proof and the maker's mark would finishing series twenty twenty one limited edition release of faa. Zero two is now rolling out in limited quantities to retailers across the country and it will also retail for sixty dollars. If you're interested in getting the easier to along with fa easier one. It will also be included in the september shipment of the whiskey drop which is makers marks newt direct to consumer program. Few spirits is introducing the few tenth anniversary straight bourbon. Whiskey this age for six years and bottled at ninety three prove this extremely limited product with only thirty nine hundred bottles available will hit shelves in september and will only be available exclusively in illinois and through direct to consumer channel at by few spirits dot com for fifty dollars so last week we kicked off a series or analyzing bourbon and banters articles on is bourbon parochial. It really sparked up a lot of chatter and we've been getting all kinds of messages through email and youtube instagram comments. While this next installment looks at the secondary market the prices of urban had been growing immensely who knows that the prices will ever drop. Do we ever think there's going to be an insight. That consumers will stop buying in the secondary market or should companies just start adjusting. Their prices accordingly taco. All this a heck of a lot more so with that enjoy. Today's episode and now. Here's fred mimic with above the char. I'm fred mimic and this is above the char. This week's idea comes from eric ashley. Who writes on redman dot com. I'm writing you today in regards above the char question related to using bourbon as a mixer. It seems that when people talk about certain bourbons they will sometimes note that they are better for mixing rather than sipping. Is this an indication that a bourbon is subpar or do producers purposely designed some of their bourbon for mixing. Who eric's just straight jumping into the inside information. So eric beautiful question and it was kind of known about me that when i was reviewing whiskies for whisky advocate. If i really didn't like something. I would say it'd be great for cocktails. It'd be good for mixing or be good and a panch and you know people would notice that like you. You know we noticed that on your eighty four point scores. You know you you really said it needs to be on a cocktail or something like that and keep in mind. You know when i'm reviewing for someone else. I'm following their standards of like how the review should go and their point system and everything like that. So i would often be creative where i would be doing my reviews to be a little bit more transparent how i felt about it and that was one of them as i would say. Be good for cocktails now. That's an honest thing to say. Because i'm using very different Bourbon for my cocktails. That i am for sipping. That's not to say the things that i'm sipping would not be great bourbon cocktail because they would be. It's just it's a. It's an economic thing so if i'm spending seventy dollars on a bourbon I don't wanna be porn in cocktail. i want to you know with the cocktail to be something. That's great but you know a little bit more cost effective and you know it's kind of an economic thing and some ways but also there are bourbons that i just don't wanna step neat. It'd be corn forward. The heavy like Starched note or a heavy would note in there and you mix it with other. Ingredients does not dissipate and the beautiful notes that are inside them like a caramel or vanilla or a sentiment. You they can pop a little bit more with the right. Kind of syrup the right kind of Citrus of course there are brands that do create product just to focus on the cocktail market. And you'll notice. These tend to be like the under thirty dollar. You know under thirty dollars. Price range and while. Kobe has taken away a lot of bar experiences. The bar is built on price point so if the the more expensive.
