Grandmother, 73, Killed After Losing Arm During Horrific Carjacking

"I'm reading stories about elderly women suffering brutal attacks all over America. In New Orleans, they had a terrible tornado last night, one person was killed. The video of the tornado is horrific. But they also had a crime, a 73 year old grandmother, beautiful woman. I see pictures of her presenting a big birthday cake in the article I'm reading. She was killed during a carjacking in New Orleans. Her arm and clothes were ripped off. She got stuck by the seat belt as the attackers drove off. Happened one 30 in the afternoon on a Monday. She left a business in New Orleans mid city neighborhood, according to WWL TV. She was dragged for almost an entire block, the police superintendent said her arm was severed from her body. And eyewitness told WWL that the victim was trying to put something in her car when a person jumped in and kicked her out and she got caught in the wheel well. I heard screaming like you're about to die. Screaming, the witness said. The speeding car dragged the grandmother by the seat belt, I got out of my car screaming, please stop. Please stop. The grandmother was screaming. She was screaming, please let me go. As soon as I saw her, I screamed, when I looked down her body was there on the ground, her arm was, well, it's just not something you expect to see. She was laying there naked, and I thought the indignity she suffered, it was just too much.

U.S. Soccer Offers Men's, Women's Teams Identical Contract Proposals

"Us consideration is offering the women's national team identical terms to the men in terms of contract from the federation But the women who are appealing an equal pay lawsuit. This is a long ongoing situation. Said just a publicity stance what what. What do they mean. What's what's going on. This is a really really complicated. We've mentioned before. Show the should be complicated issues. I what really annoys me is people just without having any understanding to say equal pay equal pay. No because it's a lot more complicated than that. The reason the women said this is a publicity stunt is because the women aren't a very different situation to men when it comes to when it comes to equal pay because for example most of the men get their entire healthcare recovered they play for professional most of them in europe and stuff and they get a lot more benefits from playing for the national club. Which a lot of the women who might play in the wwl less money they don't necessarily received so you can't treat them one hundred percent equally. That's not what the women are asking

How ESPN's Poker Programming Has Failed

"I do think that's where poker on. Espn has failed. Recently is developing new characters in new storylines and getting the introducing the common dive flipping channels. Oh maybe i'll turn on wwl and scotty win as example. Is this the first thing that always comes to mind. Where i was put on the third feature table when i had a ton of chips because scotty winner greg raymer would ever had to be on. The main table was like it's twenty twenty. What we still follow me like. What are you still doing here like. Why are we still just doing these. Same guys over and over and over instead of developing especially getting like the twits guys onto the feature tables who they have already developed a following and now they can expand it. And that's my one. Hope is that was idiots from northern europe. New new blood is always better here. This stuff you talk about all the time. I like some of those old older school. Pros are still entertaining. Some are not useful talking about them adding that much the broadcast. It's just like are. We really going to beat off miss belgium forever. I think some of the new school pros that people are like robots really. Aren't you just have to give him a chance to get like overpowered by the loud guy like a personality season example. Is nick betraying below. The students hull. But he's not allowed like his beer reviews and stuff are some of the funniest things are seen But he's not going to be the guy who's like very obviously funny. You have to get him in an interview to see something. Funny like I wanna make those people more famous. I wanna give them more time. Because i think that poker needs new blood and we can't just keep relying on like. Oh yeah you're on. Tv two kids go and everyone cared more. Let's just keep feeding this to people. I think they're kind of tired of it. We need some new

Without Cruise Ships, Key West Residents Are Enjoying A Quieter, Clearer Harbor

"In twenty nine thousand nine. Almost a million people visited the small island of key west florida by cruise ship since late march. Twenty twenty the island like the rest of the country has had no cruise ship traffic. The whole industry was shut down by the pandemic now. Cruise lines are preparing to start sailing in the us again. As soon as this summer as wwl are ns. Nancy klinger reports key west would like that restart to be on a much smaller level but the state of florida has other ideas on most evenings. The key west harbor front is packed. Hundreds of people had their to admire the sun sinking into the gulf of mexico. Artists sell their work one performer. Juggles fire another balances a bike on his head out on the water. There's a big catamaran on a sunset cruise around boat shaped like a tiki hut with a bar in the middle motors past fishing. Boats had in for the evening but one kind of vessel is missing for decades cruise ships. Were an almost daily site in key west harbor but none of sailed in the us more than a year if key westerners have their way the big ships that towered over the low lying town are over last. November residents voted to limit. Crews visitation julia. Gonzales has lived here for twenty years. She's selling silk scarves masks bags at the sunset celebration on the harbor. She says she doesn't miss the cruise ships. I'm enjoying it. Actually well primarily because the beaches look more beautiful now the ocean. "Jennifer. Welcome to status. Go thanks jen. I'm really happy to be here today. I am really excited about our conversation. I know you and i had an opportunity to chat. Gosh probably towards china last year now About the work that you're doing so i'm looking forward to our audience being able to hear about the exciting things that you're doing but before we get started you've been holding out on me a bit. When we first talked you shared a bit about your background as an executive in the insurance industry. Why she didn't share was that your career started in sports marketing. And you've worked for the likes of the orlando magic the sonics and the storm. You have to tell us about your journey from sports marketing to insurance and now to the executive director of apprently. No that's a long sordid story so let's see the My background in sports Originated with my dad. My dad did play by play for the royals. And the chiefs and Then went on to. Cincinnati was third man on the reds in the early eighties. On wwl w and. I just grew up in sports and it was kind of a natural offset for me When i went into the insurance industry. I actually started off as a media. Buyer my first stop With progressive insurance. And cleveland and i went very quickly from doing media buying into running north america. Marketing event. marketing and sports. Marketing basically auditing fifty states at a stage where progressive in the nineties was trying to figure out its brand identity and that just sort of became the tipping point of the the spot where my sports endeavors began and before the nba. I worked for scott. Boris representing baseball players. When i left progressive and did marketing endorsements for those guys. It sort of seesawed between professional sports and insurance In in a kind of weird way because you know insurance and car dealers and everybody else spend so much. Money in sports marketing. It made me a strangely hot commodity. Because i understood the business side of it.

"Victoria. Thank you so much for being here and welcome to the alley on the run. Show awesome alley big you so much for having me. I am so excited to be here. I listened to your guts every morning. So it's such a dream come true for me. Thank you well. I'm excited because who knew your job existed. I didn't so. I have a lot to learn today and i have to laugh when you i mean i had to have you on during this season because when you posted about your work in the alley on their own show facebook group. Everyone flipped out like. Did you feel that reaction post got so many lakes people were like. What is this job. So we've got a lot of questions tasks today awesome. No i totally. And i wasn't expecting although it is actually think repeal early tol there's this pause it kind of look at me like seriously you we'll hear about it. We start every episode with what we call the warm up here on the show. You know it well. Can you please tell everyone listening. Who you are where you live and what this cool job is that you have absolutely so. My name is victoria. See geese. I was warning raised in toronto ontario canada. So many big city girl. Right over here. I always have it in always will be right now. I live in ottawa ontario. Canada are lovely beautiful finalists nation's capital just about two years ago. I moved here. So i've been living here since the spring of two thousand and nineteen non small town but definitely not as huge overbearing as toronto. So i kind of went to paul it a midsize city not too big not too saul. Guess right. I am proud alumnus of university of toronto where i received my honors bachelor of arts degree in english history and filming two thousand eleven and also proud alumnus of the university of windsor in windsor ontario. Where i received my juris doctor law degree out winds rely and i am aware i was called to the ontario bar in two thousand sixteen. And i've been working as a lawyer ever since right now. I am proudly working in the advertising and products regulatory group at dowling wwl g. canada l. key a large multinational law firm. We have offices really all across the world. And i am currently working out of the office here in ottawa ontario canada. I started here almost two years ago with the fabulous team in ottawa My focus is primarily on regulatory compliance for food and beverage products working with really large worldwide food and beverage companies on which. I'm sure we'll absolutely dive into at my work. Also touches on regulatory compliance were a lot of other consumer products that includes cosmetics so like now premium shampoo conditioner Not health products and other general consumer products which to range from textiles clothing costume veterans bang jewelry electronics toys. Meg devices toothbrushes everything. Honestly you name it and it's probably probably regulated and there are probably rules around its marketing and advertising saying and my group where the people that do that kind of stuff and gas there are in fact warriors their lives to doing this myself included. It's so interesting because when you first post it and you said. I'm a food lawyer in my mind. I'm like okay. She goes to court in defense of like broccoli and bucatini goes like defense these foods. I don't know what against but that's the cartoon image. I had in my mind which i realize is not correct. Don't worry you break down a little bit more. I know you just kind of explained top level but give us a scenario of an example of what you're doing who are you defending. Who are your clients. And who are you kind of. I always imagined layers are fighting which i know is all of them. But who are you fighting for. And who are you fighting against louis. So it's actually really interesting. You should say that my job is not a job on. And i actually. I listened to the first on the job series episode. This season. I know you will. You will be talking to somebody. Who i think is really like a trial attorney. Kind of like getting really into the weeds there. We don't go to court. At least we hope never talk award for it Really for us it's side. It's a matter of ensuring regulatory compliance for all of these companies. And they're so. Let me give you an example. A client who is like a big. Let's say like snack. Company will send us a proposed labelled. Let's say it's a label for. They want to release like a brand new chocolate chip cookie on the market. They'll send us a label and they'll say this is our label maka. Let us know what it is that the authority problems with It like what we need to do in order to be playing that sort of thing so essentially the the. What's your walking in the grocery store you pass by a a basic. Is you picked up the box. You look at the label at some point in time in all likelihood somebody whether it's regulatory lawyer or a regulatory compliance works in regulatory compliance has read out late all and either told a food and beverage company that they have to change it or die. There's a certain risk with making a certain statement on a label. Anything and everything that is on that particular food label probably has a roll around it especially here in canada. Things are quite highly regulated. A so firewall wall. Send us a copy of a label. We need to review it for compliance. And i mean we nice. Every single thing about these product labels down to like interest tax table down to be ingredient. This what are the ingredients. Are you allowed to have these ingredients in the product. And if there's a particular ingredient that has that's not allowed to be in a product up to a certain level. Are they excessive this level. Where are they putting their nets. T. statement so those of insect ninety liters or ten grams or one and a half ounce how does it look on the label of the way that it looks on a food. Label has eroded Why where is there. Ingredients statement whereas the nutrition All of these matters. And that is literally what i do. I will get us label for a grand products. And i will have to date and pick it apart and what's hostage is grocery shopping fun for you. Are you like. I'm at work now hilarious. I love loud grocery shopping. I mean i. I could spend hours hours out of Link so an. And i mean like everywhere my my husband and i went to italy. Who read before. I started working at outline so this would have been in two thousand nineteen. He wanted to go to like about that again and he wanted to go to like museums and i just bar square walking around understanding like international food labels like before i started this job like what are what are they intricacies of these food labels and how big difference when i started especially when i started working on my husband we hated rivers resolving with because i would i would just spend hours in the grocery store just like labels and looking at new products and it's interesting though because it kind of ends up being pretty good opportunity to kind of understand where different companies are going in terms of food so you know what are the new and emerging products. That are coming out dr getting a lot of traction on and we talked to a lot of guests on i think. Is it star. Starlight us tonight issue now. She's amazing. I love all representatives and that a lot of people ask questions on about like. Oh what does it mean what is cheeto mean or what is like up spam based food or you know what is all of this stuff about like oatmeal oatmeal mill. What almond milk and all this other kind of milk all that stuff. I like to kind of keep my eye on those kinds of products because the claims that they're making for products like by In canada especially are are all regulated. And we have to make sure that that these that were kind of in tune to these new emerging product so that we can sort of adviser daily in is.

Freelancer won't let cerebral palsy sideline his sports writing career

"Blake. Bombed gardner is a freelance journalist from naperville illinois just outside of chicago. He's trying to get established in the journalism industry but faces mobility issues due to living with cerebral palsy. Welcome to the podcast blake. Thanks michael happy to be here. Yeah i'll i'm having heavy on the podcast so so first of all. Tell me a little about yourself. Where'd you grow up and How'd you end up getting interested in sports journalism. Well i've been a sports all my life and grew up in naperville so unfortunately early left left talent as much as i would like to a group of sports fan and obviously you'll could play because of because miserable palsy. So you'll just try to get involved in any way that can. I grew up to be kinda encyclopedia of sorts growing up. And that's how. I got acceptance. You know much by peers growing up in school innocent. So you're the the writing acumen kinda came later in high school and stuff like that and wanted to try to pursue journalism as a as a college major but my background in sports and my passion for it has run deep. Since i was young. And just trying to learn. You'll every fact. Savior stat. That i can and just kind of tried to soak all that so-called so tell me about the freelance gig will what sports are you covering now is the lead prep for naple son. Which is the local paper here. For off periods from march two thousand. Ten until let's call it March of two thousand and nineteen was Football boys basketball and baseball. So i was in effect doing what a staffer would be doing covering those. Those three beats you'll features. Gamers notebooks all area packages. You any recruiting stuff you know. If we had a certain certain athlete commit to commit to a school would do stuff on that so just basically doing what a staff writer would be doing. Just without title that goes with it in the cash comes with view approached us reached out to us talking about being a man with cerebral palsy. Trying to find a job in the journalism industry. Did you encounter any difficulties in doing your freelance job. I guess the only difficulty was or would be like for example football. You'll you got some reporters who could you watch from the sidelines. I can't do that one. I can't stand for long periods of time to far the bigger issue is being able to grip something in my left hand and obviously being able to to write with right hand so i football. I'd have to be up in the press box. Computer keeps my own. Stats with an excel spreadsheet. Keep a play by play an steno notebook and then obviously you're not being able to drive so i'd have to look enough you my mother's kind of saint so she would be able to drop me off at your whatever high school i'd be covering a gay matt and obviously picking me up then you'll with the pay per bidding sunday wednesday. Friday paper deadline wasn't as big of an issue. So i'd be able to file once. I got back home and then just file with my editor and then it would go online and probably late friday early saturday morning and then it would run for brit on something as far as the deadline issue. Goes you know you were say a staff reporter. Do you think that you'd be able to find ways to adapt so that you be able to meet deadlines. I think it would depend on. If if it was y'all we talk seven day week paper. We talk in your six days a week three days. I think that number one would depend. Beware you covering something. And how far of a distance do you have to go because again. I'm not somebody who who would go to like mcdonald's or starbucks your to file on a pitch to use your wifi so i've never really done that so i think it would just depend on the type of publication writing for and where where you're covering something in relation to where you live. I think that's probably the biggest the biggest impediment that i've encountered just from a standpoint of applying for fulltime work with papers. Because you're the sun was kind of a nice set up because you're only dealing with six school. So like the daily herald in arlington heights. Illinois you could be dealing with twenty or twenty five schools with dupage county. And i could never do that so. The son was a good setup just because of the limited number of schools and they're all relatively close by the some of the challenges. You mentioned you know such as going to the mcdonalds or whatever the file. I mean you know there are adaptations to that. You know you can. You can get a sort of a mobile wireless thing that you can set up. You could sit in your car or you could find a space where you could write something up and file in a shared some of your clips with us and i was looking at your your stuff on medium. I mean you're really good feature writer. Do you have a real sense of how to tell a story. And engaging story you know he had a number of interviews some sports people talking about you know the challenges they faced. I can't remember which one it was. It was about a A pitcher from creighton. Who went on and talked about a big league game. That was his first big league games. And that's a real human sports type feature that you know then. I thought you did really well. Yeah mcnicol shortstop maple central grad. Which is where. I went to school. Full disclosure that he. He played baseball three years at creighton and got drafted in thrown by the royals in two thousand and sixteen made his major league debut with the royals in may of two thousand and one thousand nine. Yeah i and also you had some stories up there about your experiences. I guess you you were pursuing job at espn in their stats department. Concerned told me about that experience. You'll couple years before that of this kind of full around twitter and peter vesey started. Follow me at twitter. So then i started engaging with pam kinda explaining your my story my journey. What i'm trying to do. Would you be willing to to look at somebody stuff. And then the all august of two thousand eighteen after a previous interview with the spn. Two phone interviews. It didn't go particularly well in terms of making the next step and really no fault of my own or at least i didn't think there was any fault on my own. So he said why. Don't you put your story out there. You'll we could put on facebook twitter. He was writing on patriotic at that point doing some work on his own so he was gonna try to help me get it out there. No so we did that august. Two thousand nine hundred got got some nice nice feedback back. Although the only person i really heard from wanted to actually meet with me was mark boyle the radio play voice of the pacers and he and i met in chicago in october before bowls. Pacers preseason game. The festival would six months. We did a follow up the wwl two thousand nineteen by bringing caught wind of it. And then he forwarded onto norby williamson. Who's a it'll bigwig executives peon and then you'll that eventually led to meet talking with a recruiter. Espn by the name of stacey williamson and then we. We got the point where i went out to bristol interview with. Espn for today's april third and fourth two thousand eighteen for job in their stats and information group and you know unfortunately a couple of weeks later found out that i was making it to the next step in that process but i made a strong enough impression with the giro up that i met with on the second day of an interview. And we've kept in touch. And i ended up applying for and interviewing for their production. Assistance program called. Espn next at a couple of interviews in march of this year and then found out in. May that i wasn't making it the next step that process which would have been an in person interview out bristol but obviously with covid nineteen that process. I'm sure got put on. Hold on that. You're what happened with that. So you kind of kept in touch with her the jar up. So we're still you'll let door. I don't think it's completely closed. But she's she's one of the few advocates that i have and i don't have a lot of them so you know trying to keep that door open as best. I can

Because of Vaccines, Ultra-Cold Freezers Are the New Hot Buy

"In a sea of stress. Inducing headlines there is one seemingly perennial bright spot these days vaccine news the scientists researchers and doctors that have been working on a covid nineteen vaccine seemed to have made great strides toward finding effective inoculations to help protect us from the virus. Pfizer was the first to announce its vaccine in early november. The company said it showed more than ninety percent effectiveness but the vaccine also has an inconvenient distribution issue it has to be stored at minus seventy degrees celsius. That's colder than antarctica in winter. Maderna's vaccine announced later in the month had similar efficacy rate and similar storage needs. Both vaccines must be sold in special ultra cold freezers throughout their journey from manufacturing plant to where the vaccine will be administered. Those super cold freezers cheap. Their price tags may be as high as thirty thousand dollars but those frigid freezers are selling like hotcakes. Hospitals in government entities have been snapping them up to help distribute the vaccine to the masses even employers are getting on board. Automaker ford bought twelve ultra-cold freezers last month. In an effort to ensure its employees can get the vaccine tra- cold freezers. They're typically the domain of university labs in hospitals that need to store cell extracts dna or other specialized materials at extremely low temperatures. The challenge is that ima- a needs to be kept super cold. The company expects fourth-quarter earnings to grow about sixty percent over the same period last year driven by covid nineteen response but even with ultra low freezer manufacturers. Hard at work to meet demand. These vaccines have unveiled another weakness in the supply chain the cold chain. Most vaccines need to be kept at a specific temperature until they're administered. That's typically around thirty five to forty five degrees wired reports but the super low temperatures that the most promising covid nineteen vaccines require. Make it tough to distribute the vaccines widely in the highly developed north american economies. Let alone in places where equipment capacity isn't close to sufficient like parts of africa. Asia and south america wired estimates that upward of twenty five percent of all vaccines are lost because of a lack of reliable coal chains in some countries. Just one ten. Health centers have a proper vaccine refrigerator according to that report and that includes rural hospitals in the us. Allen morgan chief. Executive of the national rural health association told stat news that poorer hospitals can't afford the pricey ultra-cold freezers nearly half of us. Rural hospitals were operating at a loss as of april of this year and the pandemic has only made things worse that means that workers and residents in these areas may not have access to the vaccine. It's possible that the manufacturers may update their cold-storage guidelines or that new vaccines. That don't require such ultra-low temps may come along. But for now lack of a stable co chain to distribute the vaccine to some people who need it most is a situation with legitimate chilling concert

Borders are coming down. Were they based on science or politics?

"It is thursday the twenty sixth of november. And we're approaching the festive december norman. Which at least for me in queensland means that board is reopening to almost the rest of australia entirely which is a first for months now which is really great especially families who wanna get together For christmas and new year but were the borders. What do we know about border closures. In terms of how useful they are in stopping the spread. Is it more about science or is it more about politics. It depends on the date. So if you look at the victorian second wave new south wales the clusters in new south. Wales did originate in victoria before they closed the victorian border the where some people who turned up in queensland who would be in victoria so borders do work when you've got a fair bit of virus circulating there but the question is once you get almost no virus circulating. Do the borders need to stay closed. And if you remember queen opened up for a short period before closing gone again before the second wave occurred westminster. There has never really opened up. Although it's it's saying it slightly less onerous now but it's really effectively closed the moment if a borders closed and it's really now from now on wwl i think really effect most other places are open. South australia will eventually have access to states. Once they get over this pick up with the current outbreak. I think from now on is just politics because the risk is so low question is. Are we going to slap a border on again. If there's a cluster outbreak in new south wales or accuster outbreak in victoria me. The probably will be customer outbreaks because we're bringing people from overseas. The provia customer outbreak can in queensland because bringing people from overseas. I we're going to keep going backwards and forwards well propeller. She says no. She's not going to do that well. She's not gonna do that then. Why would she do it. Not in other words. She could do it in the future. Why has she done it in the past. I think that's no that the queensland election is passed then poltics becomes less of an issue. The west australian election is still to come. And i think quite honestly even though the risk is incredibly low if not nonexistent w borders will probably remain closed. Because there's an election coming you can see why states want to protect the resources of the health department's and protect the people that leaving there but it does seem like quite a blunt instrument to control spread. When you think about the size of the states that we have in australia blunt. It may be but it's probably been fairly effective when you had a lot of virus circulating but now is almost non and we're pretty much well in control. The problem you've gotten w for example is people have gone back to virtually back to normal and the virus comes in then you got a problem because it could spread but their risk is much more and the primary mcgowan has said. This martin mcgowan said this much more from hotel. Quarantine then is from new south wales victoria and they would have to do what south australia's done. Which is reboot contact tracing when the get outbreaks. So they're not ready for it and that's part of the problem as well so like you say we're coming into the end of the year with almost completely open borders across australia. What do you say the first half or the. Let's let's start with the first half of twenty twenty one looking like well. We're still waiting for vaccine rollout. Well i think that what will happen is that will continue to bring back people from overseas. Australians from overseas. I suspect we'll see a bubble open up with new zealand. Maybe the pacific islands as well. So there's no quarantine between us because we've got almost no cases so the new zealand to keep on quarantining us going there. We would almost cases. I suspect they will relax and open it up to us. The need us is poorly more than we need them. But that would be nice. Pacific islands pretty low low risk then got singapore which is a bit more awkward because the it being a transportation hob so i think you start to see. Some international bubbles opening up and. I think that you're going to see the odd outbreak here or there in australia but kept under control and we'll get back to some kind of normal life throughout australia and circulating normally no then the question will be at. What point. would you open up our borders to international travel and that will depend. I suspect on digital vaccine passports in other words except you people from overseas if they'd been immunized and of course that will depend on whether the vaccines prevent infection or just covid nineteen disease because if they don't prevent infection then you could be bringing people in from overseas who are carrying covid nineteen and could spread it here but if they prevent in which is going to take a little wild into the twenty twenty one to discover. You may not see vaccine passports being used in australia until we're sure how effective the vaccines are preventing transmission. But i think that you could see international flights starting sooner than many expected. Well

Breaking Down the Quarters and Semis for the KR Contenders Playoffs

"Let's dive into our predictions for I guess we'll do predictions and then matches them predictions and matches will go in order here. So first match. We both got right. Yep Yep whoop do. We knew that team B M was not up to the task against Wgn Phoenix, and that's what happened. W just think took the three one against them I. Actually yet the three one which is actually kind of surprising because. Outside of an absolute banger that will talk about a little bit later this was the only other one that didn't go three Oh. Team. VM being able to squeak out that one map made it interesting for all of seven minutes and then. wgn Phoenix was like Nah. We're We're. Shutting you down. Yep and that one map was Lee. Shang where we saw Sung Chan gets some key hacks onto as tax on the. Road at least twice I think. You kinda tried his best to. Negate as tech but as we talk about here in the next couple of matches. Stack is shown to be really solid like you had like I think one match that we watched last week or two weeks ago where I felt when it was from. But like there was some issues dying on Bussan but beyond that, especially in these playoffs matches really leveled up. So that team tried their best to try to counter him and they did on the first map but beyond that w kind of took off and really the only other thing that I noticed outside of that. They were playing real chaotic, not super super structured. Just looked discombobulated, and then you get over to a new business and protect literally holds onto his grab for like foil. Yes and it's like there was there was a bunch of times where he could have used it. Either defensively to save some of his teammates and extend the team fight or initiate with an potentially win team fight and Nope, he just sat on it and then when he did use it, he threw it to lake. Horizon Lunar Colony I think because it just went nowhere got nothing and then they just got absolutely destroyed. Yup Listen to Wayne Gretzky protect you miss one hundred percent of the grabs you don't take so. You just gotTa. Do It man you just got? To. It's also a Hawker reference or an office reference depending on what what realm of the world you're in. The other thing too is like every minute that you're not using a graph building. You're not building graph and like if you hold a grab for like three minutes, you could've used a grab that it was like okay and then had another grab by basically the same time So. Yeah it's it's tough and like if you don't have the opportunity to use a grab at all because they're diva is constantly all over you and you don't have the counterplay or they're playing way to spread, then you probably should go on something else. That's better. Pick anyways and use the grab throwaway goldfish swimming dvr, go switch Sigmar anything else. There there's been a lot of issues that we're seeing a lot of the losing teams. They're. They're just like kind of shooting themselves in the foot with like playing what they should be. On the other side man wgn. Phoenix Lake after watching this match. I got really high on this tangle. Especially, ABC Z. Bag has been. Okay. But Gables specially was. Studer Pitt where you saw pack jump up, get damage onto. The Echo over the ACA was even. On. Haven, yeah then. He drops down back behind the cover again, and then you saw gable see right behind him come up boost up finish off the damage and then go back and then Win So comes up to resum they both dive a again and kill him as well. They open it up with two free kills and literally just roll beyond that. So I think that like one of the things especially it's been the tank line coordination for this team. In another team, we'll talk about later. Like it really sets these teams up apart like with the DP s with the one diver as well with the tanks in the one dive deep. Yes as well like. If, you have three people hive minded together you you will find success in grin contenders. And then another name on wgn that you're going to hear. US Talk. A lot absolute tyrant about is ace. When ace is on? The Sambre. Do builds EMP's insanely quick. But then on a newbies, they push team B.. M. Back to the spawn. And then they're like, you know what we got like a minute and a half left we're just going to go sit in front of the spun. And s just sits behind him and mainly heck's the supports like one clip supports drops an EMP. Like gets half of the team just absolutely bullying the back line of Team B, m on a newness and. Team B. M. had no response to ACE's play when he was running the sombre. and. It's super unfortunate that like he's only played this one pick at least what I've seen so far Inoke s on the hog. So good is unmatched in cream contenders I think I, think he might. Only, backed by MAG. But we'll see about that. Hit like he just every time like he forces other people to not play against him because he will just out a out mechanics them out strategy them and like just knows how to play better gets incredible. Pickoffs especially on Havana you saw him on the hog and Gable soon, the sigma they full hold team b. m., there as well So, like this tank line. Alternating CPAC and iino cast depending on whether or not. They're gonNA play the Winston saw shrine oranges run the Road Hog quite often because I think this was still on the playoff patch or like the wwl. Finals Patch. It'll. It's as strong three players on that team like they. Really. Really benefited from there, strong line here and gables the again like we talked about his diva being incredible signals also incredible as well during the scrappy last minute fights where there was a chance that team b. m. was going to be able to. Squeak out the first point actually cap it. he just stayed alive sustained had some good old good rocks Just good play and I think got like a couple of kills here there's also. You're going to start seeing a couple of these names come up next week when we talk not only about Plants and stuff like that but also on recommended. Pickups for teams in the off season because. Couple of teams might be going full Korean here and. There's a lot of new blood that's rear and to get some Odell time in. So I'm excited to see that I actually can't wait to talk about that team that I think is going full Korean 'cause. It's GONNA be interesting to try to put together. A bunch of players out of Korean contenders to slot into that team or and see how close we can get to actually hitting the. the mark on how many people get pulled from creon contenders.

Floridians With Felony Convictions Must Pay Fines Before They Can Vote

"Dot com slash NPR to learn more. Florida's Republican legislature is largely succeeding in its drive to prevent people with felony convictions from voting the people of Florida voted otherwise two years ago by an overwhelming margin Floridians overturned the state's lifelong ban on voting for people convicted of crimes. Then Florida lawmakers stepped in the legislators barred people from voting if they still owe outstanding fines, which most can't afford to pay Danny Rivera of member station, wwl R. N. reports on the result. The Big promise when voters passed a ballot initiative in two thousand eighteen was that more than a million Floridians would get the right to vote back. But after the stay connected voting with making payments, less than ten thousand ex-felons are expected to vote in November according to research from Georgetown? Law. Center. That's because the majority of people can't afford to pay what they owe. Even if a tiny percent of them can have paid all my fines. I have pay my dentist society. And now, maybe Bolt Sean came out of Florida State. Prison six years ago where she was serving time for drug charges. But when I met her in August, she was marching to the polls in Miami to vote in Florida's primary election. Jones a social worker. Now for the occasion, she's wearing a homemade black and pink shirt that celebrates how far she's made it. So my shirt says she's been reform. DC number, which is day county corrections crossed out. And I have my voter registration number checked So no longer a felon and my is not a few Florida counties have come up with programs that allow judges to modify someone sentenced to allow them to vote. Even if money is still out when the programs I lost, there was a lot of promise that they could help people registered to vote. Democratic. State Senator Jason Pizzo helped create one of these programs in Miami Dade. County a year ago and he says the biggest problem with the program is that so few people have used it less than one hundred people out of their cases modified in the largest county in Florida in the third largest country pizzo says there's more pro Bono attorneys that have offered to help with cases. Then people who have called for help is it apathy or is it beating down people and basically Nagin and feel so disheartened and disenchanted with system like I give up Give up I don't WANNA gauge. I don't a fun to help would be voters was created last year and has raised million so far. But even those charitable contributions are facing pushback from the state after billionaire Michael Bloomberg announced he would help donate nearly twenty million dollars for the effort. Florida's Attorney General Ashley. Moody. Asked the FBI in State police to investigate and the letter she cited laws against election bribery. Not See this as a bit of voter intimidation. Then you link is an attorney with the campaign legal center. She represented plaintiffs in the Federal Court case, and she says, Florida's trying to scare people away from accepting help for paying off their fines and fees. Air is no criminal investigation to be had here. The law is about paying people to vote or paying people. In order to induce them to vote instead the generosity of fellow citizens is allowing individuals to become eligible to vote Most of us don't have to pay to become eligible to vote unfortunately these folks do, but he riddle was a plaintiff in the federal lawsuit, and now she's scrambling to come up with the money she needs to be able to vote in November government. Fustrates me I mean unbelievable what these people will go through to stop
