"But was quite good about. Eighty can play steam as well so i've also played hotshot racing on it for example. But yes i am. I am working on a boot to commodore basic grow up menus and things like that nice but one of the fun things was actually modifying heat sinks and fans. I was wondering about profile case. I if you consider the commodore sixty four breath protocols in martin's by morton standards is so. I've been removing fans and putting different aftermarket fans on on mismatch components to make to make it run cool and quiet an i got there and i'm very happy with this thing so next step is to try and upgrade it with even more ridiculous components using it with an external. Gpu as well as the the chassis. So small econ accommodate a full power supplies which using a Psu so only one hundred watts. So can i use like what's on the motherboard. So no gp us maybe some low-powered devices but gp's but having an ap is on the same chip is actually a good use case that yeah not so sixty five pound. Note that it's all listeners. May i have a small child recently. Acquired in my household and we bought a new device recently. So i thought it would be a nice opportunity to do as amir review of that device but also talk about some of the decisions that we make when we buying things for kids and how they might differ from when we buy things ourselves given the when i was a kid was four years ago. Yes they're going. Different necessarily when revolting charles selves as kids when we making women making technology purchasing decisions. Here we say right. So what did you buy. A nice of soft diffused led matrix display on the front. It's like sixteen by sixteen or something is not very high resolution displays. Yes oh it's like it doesn't. A nice of soft diffused led matrix display on the front. It's like sixteen by sixteen or something is not very high resolution displays. Yes oh it's like it doesn't. It doesn't display video displays like icon right or something like that To show what's playing and the way the the way that you get stuff onto it is you have a little. Nfc cards which you put in a slot and then that tells you what to play an leader if it's a radio station or it can stream it or if it's an audio book it can download it to the device and play off line and then the way that the way that you tell you what to play. Once he's downloaded. is you. Swap the cards in and out. I thought this was a really nice idea. Because when when my brother and i were kids we had little cassette players. And we'd have cassettes with stories and nursery rhymes and music. And we'd record our own you have these physical things which you swap in and out but all of my media. These days is all my server. And i've got various ways of playing it but there's no physical connection to the that media and i thought this is a really nice way of giving my little girl a way of having a physical connection to the media. She's listening to hear it's interesting you talk about like exchangeable like cartridges effective. You look like gameboy gaming is not media. Consumption by gameboy countries is like child hans size the exchange and it's very it's very tactile. You put it out and you when you put a different winning. Go different picture on different and very much. Like the switch difficulty. I think the switch cards about small as you can go really with small children not eating them but these are like credit card sized things that basically a standard nfc card. So if you've got like a badge for work or something which used to open the door is basically one of those right. And i was actually really impressed with how intuitive they are because we had one playing and we gave my logo another one and she's eighteen months old and she walked up to it. She pulled out the call that was in there. She stuck in the other one hundred years as happy as anything about it. So it's really really simple but a really intuitive system are like that i think that's really elegant. Yeah i mean it's also quite clever because the nfc card sort of gates access to the content as well right. Yeah exactly so. I mean you can buy ones which you can write yourself or you can buy them from the store with stuff preloaded on i have been doing a bit of investigation to work out a gig of how it works like the cards themselves. Just have a you alrea on which read stuff from the oto points to the oto website and you can scan it with your phone and just go to the website and play the media in your browser. Even i've got to writing my own card and seeing how much mess with it. So could you anticipating maybe you could leverage the media sogno media server and put fowzia compatible with this device on on our savvy you host so that you can then program at the euro. Put them in and it plays what you want. That's why i'm wondering. I mean you can like you can make your own playlist with your own media and uploads it to their service and then you put the collagen and ill download to your device. There's already a means of putting your in media on the device but and this is part of the discussion. I was hoping to lead into was f- the company goes away forever even if they go bankrupt if they get bought out by someone by competitor or by someone who doesn't want to keep this particular service going they might have a competing service then. There's a risk that it goes away and these these media doesn't work anymore so it got me thinking you won't be a how could i ensure long longevity for this device and would i if i was buying something like this for myself would i have chosen this one or do i have strict rules for myself on what i'm willing to. I'm willing to

Newly Discovered Wi-Fi Vulnerabilities Called FragAttacks Place Mobile Devices at Risk

"Attackers always look for ways to evade detection of their malware are increasingly turning to what's called phyliss methods it's done by having the malware execute in a computer's memory that avoids files which can be spotted by antivirus systems. The latest example has been discovered by a security company called anomaly. It's as a threat. Group is using a free microsoft software development application called m. s build to plant a remote access tool on victims system and then it installs malware that steals passwords. Al isn't known yet how systems were initially compromised but typically gets done by tricking a person into using a legitimate looking but hacked application information. Security professionals are warrant to educate employees about proper sabir security procedures when handling emails with attachments and not downloading unapproved software. Wi fi has been in use since nineteen ninety-seven well. That's how long several design flaws have been sitting in routers smartphones and other devices. according to a researcher. He dubs them frag attack. If an adversary is near victim using wifi they could steal data or their device. A fortunately these flaws are hard to abuse unless there have been programming mistakes in wi fi products. Thanks to the researchers tip in the past few months security updates have been quietly added to products including windows most mobile devices like smartphones and tablets would be patched through their operating systems patches for lennox will be available soon.

"Area, which is I got one and they didn't but yeah, various distros are working on porting everything to to their dismay. So risk five is it's a different CPU architecture. It's you can't take the arm build of Adventure and run it on this. You have to do a complete, billed for both wrists, so it's not for risk for risk five, right? Yeah. It's it's as different as armies from x86 riskiest for Mom. It just looks similar cuz it's like a, it's a board game like a Rosewood Pine. He's got the 40 pin head of the Raspberry Pi has has compatibility from Hardware point of view to some degree or familiarity. Not necessarily compatibility. It's got ethernet. Couple of USB port, four years, in fact, HDMI. It's powered off a USB C charger, which I think it came, I think it gave me the cable, it didn't come with a charger but that's okay. Cuz I got plenty of life. It's got eight gig of RAM on. This particular board is pretty production board, it's an audio interface Wi-Fi. Bluetooth not everything works yet. And some things are a little bit up and down because wage So people have had the boards for like, two weeks. So yeah, it's it's early days but it's super fascinating. So this sounds like a real sort of community outreach Endeavor to actually sort of Leverage, the power of community to sort of, do the hardware bring up on this device. Yeah, they've got a beagle of got a slack, a community. And they've also got wage, of course. And on discourse, it's super active. Every time I go there, there's new threads and there's conversation going on. A very friendly conversation and there's Drew from the beginning of organization is you know, corralling people and making sure we're not, you know, overlapping and you know not doing things as per month. Payments of the of the project really I wouldn't have a porting some of the applications that I've made a snap. So I wanted to make them available as risk five years Unfortunately, there's some blockers in the way and I have to wait for some of the ability people to do their stuff. So I'm going to look at some other things in the meantime at the moment. I'm just really playing with it fascinating. I suppose it's worth pointing out of the oven to have been bringing up risk five in the archive, for a couple of years now and I well last I heard it was mostly there. Maybe Ellen knows more. Yeah, it is, but it's very much like, you know, bringing up a new arm board. Most of the packages are built for the architecture, but there's Harbor enablement to do to. You know, make sure you get something aught serial interface, and make sure you can talk to the HDMI port and all that kind of stuff. And there's there's new Hardware in this thing. So, you know, it's there's a, there's a bit of enablement to do that, but looks like the Border in the right half of lots of different people and me. Brilliant

The new administration took time to evaluate that and has now decided. Yeah okay. I think we're cool taking jami off that list. But they're not taking a bunch of others off the list like you said always not going anywhere It's it's it's staying on that list. So i don't think this is the. Us leading up pressure on china. "May need to reboot reboot a camera. Here and there Occasionally that remotely using the wifi plugs or if it is online but not quite so over latched into the right wi fi disk and that's one of the faults. I think with the system. Unfortunately you can't make a device. Always linked to a specific hot spot a mesh spot which. I think you can do with couple of other brands. but i've tried The teepee link system was linked system and google wifi system. And they all started doing strange things with my network. I wanted to create except networks and the good thing about they system is. I've always used the same society from a wifi. And now that's a really good tip for anyone if you setting up wifi so of network system even if you change your router always call it the name the original name of your a society and the same password that means you've got more things than you remember that uses that wifi security details and it saves you having to reset the mole. Basically so i've got. I've got ms society that goes back ten years And the password password but it's it's it's password abuse forever so good thing that the beast is to much you just plug it in of could actually using ethernet five or come back to that because we've got. We're lucky enough to have ethan at ports around the house. So that uses the Ethan at pacho cool it so that keeps signal the wi fi signal network signal between the disc really strong. They broadcast the same. Ssd and password all the devices in the house. And if you've got an iphone for example in europe stairs that will use the upstairs one and then it's clever enough to hand over to another disk Realizes that a sickness week. So it's really good for that. I recommend cheap nowadays as well And in fact. I had an inquiry from a relative. He wants to run an extension to a a summer house So we had to eat net going to the summer house Wants to know how to run into the root or whatever and i say for just disc disk is a bt customers that happen so the sending him one and that's the best way to extend your system keeps bit in the same on the same. at which. I think if you go gaming consoles that helps as well. I never really understood double nato and all that rubbish so an older consoles work fine with the existing system anyway long story short not quite short its way from being over.

"Then you're going to find out that some time later in this year when the FCC approves all this stuff stuff they're going to open the on ramp that lane and it's GonNa give you more than double the amount of lanes who had before and also slow cars can't get on it. No combine tractors after Snow Sucks. It's going to be Wi fi six devices and above are the only people that are gonna be allowed on this. New Superhighway is going to be twice as wide as what you have right now. That's the way to look got it. You know I'm I'm doubling the amount of ban with giving a lot more channels. It's going to be a lot. Less interference is associated with that. No legacy clients. It's Wi fi six in higher speed and keep weight here. It's still wi fi. It's going to be invisible when you're using your phone or your tablet your own thing. It's like okay. Do I want to get on the social network. They're running on the WIFI network. When you get on the Wi fi network your system will automatically jump between two point four and five gigahertz? You don't even have to do that. You don't have to worry about it. Well that's going to be two point. Four four five Gig for sixty. It's still Wifi. You don't have to learn anything new so whether you're consumer or an IT administrator in the enterprise it's not like. I have to learn a brand. New Technology is just wi fi different frequency. And it's GonNa be huge because it's just a lot more band with a lot more performance a lot more capability and it will give a better are user experience got it but this is all reliant on the FCC which every now and then that makes me a little nervous so how close to a done deal. Is this that we're going to have this because this is gonna going to be shared spectrum and it's not auctioned off its unlicensed. So that's great but what needs to happen at the FCC to make this real and how likely is it the good thing about that we expect the FCC to sign off on this before the end of the year and there's a couple of reasons for that one is that the last time they had vote was unanimous. Everybody said Hey we need to. We need to open the space. Jason for unlicensed wife I use whatever the second part and let's just be honest is that the members of the board on the FCC though the political appointees we've gotten election in the United States the end of the year so the people that are on the board right now whether they stay or whether they go they want to get this out the door before that happens so. We're pretty confident. In the the people I've talked to and what I've been involved in a different organization groups that the FCC will bless that there's some limitations as far as power this a couple of incumbents on their microwave type stuff often. We have to make sure we don't interfere with them. Same thing we did with doppler radar in the five Gigahertz plant put. It is going to happen. broadcom came out that. CBS and they announced eight new chips. So obviously they're throwing their money in their beliefs so there and also think Intel came out now some stuff so I'm thinking before the end of this year the FCC is kind of open up that spectrum. Jim Okay let me on the controversial to end on a couple months ago I had a person who was building a connected postal tracking being service and they use cellular for it because it goes all around the world on ships. All kinds of crazy places and wi fi. Just isn't isn't ready for that it's not. It's not mobile that way. So this person explained to me in great detail how they felt that Wi fi in the next decade would be kind of a technology of the past where where cellular with NBA Ot with the emergence of using things like C. B. R. S. Band and virtual Sims would suddenly become much more compelling. Because the costs go down you would be able to authenticate on. Networks automatically all all kinds of interesting things and there was a security and Q.. Os Level All. That isn't available in Wifi. Just WanNa throw that out there at you and ask you. Where do you see Wi fi going especially with these high value highly mobile connected devices? Why is going to continue to be the primary technology for the rest of my life? It's not going to be the only technology it's kind of like they you know is five Jegan replaced Wi fi wife. I know it's never going to happen because you know one of the things understand appreciate all. This is that this kind of wraps around five G. Five G. really has two part two. It's called new radio and it's called network slicing not GonNa get into network slicing but the new radio component includes Wifi. Wifi is one of the on ramps into five gene with private private lt wimax and whatever else a Wi fis never gonna go. It's always going to be a primary component with the VA type technology with the resource units. which the each segmentation that Wi fi six authors? You'RE GONNA get a lot more security associated that you're GonNa get lot more cure west because I can dedicate amount of bandwidth prior to Wi fi six. It was it was all shared and I can have different priority schemes but with Alexia May and the ability to dedicate certain amount of bandwidth just certain clients like voice clients. I get that cure west automatically. Ah the greatest technology has never won. You know as I said. I'm I'm an old guy I remember You know Ethernet Tokar FDI ATM. Token ring was better than Ethan that everybody. Nobody can argue that point Ethan at one because it was stable it was easy it was and the same thing with FDI the same thing with ATM. That why here it's reliable. It's understood and one of the best examples. I saw the why. Why is going to stay where it is? Is that second half last year there were a couple of reports that came out from DC. And right now they're about thirteen billion billion Wi fi devices operating in the world and ready four billion more each year and what they were saying. It's their expectations. And it's pretty conservative. Actually is that by the end of this year. Sure we're going to add about one point. Six Billion Wifi six devices one point six billion Wifi six bucks at the same time they're saying by the end of twenty twenty five we'll have one point five billion five G. devices so you're never going to replace these devices. The phones or tablets laptops. Yeah your phones are going to have a multi sent and that's a great idea. CBS GonNa give you some different capabilities. But how many tablets have a sell your neighbor right now. How many laptops have how many of those not devices we were just talking about? They don't WanNA spend the money money on you know Wi fi six. They're not gonNA add. You know if I have a choice I go five G.. Do I go cellular. Whatever Wifi it's GonNa be a WIFI interface? So it's it. Forget the technology discussion discussion. You almost need to take it down to a common sense type stuff that it's not a competition WIFI private L. C. D. R. S. Five Gene. All these technologies are going to coexist coexist and actually collaborate assist each other depending on your use cases because there's definitely advantages one has over the other but those are going to be. You know Wi fis not not going anywhere anytime soon. It's kind of like you know for ten years. They say wireless is GONNA replace wired. The data center is going to be wired for a long time. You know wireless doesn't work in that space so once again. That's the world according to Perry Perry thank you so much for coming on the show. This week I really appreciate it. It is going to happen broadcom came out at. CBS and they announced eight new chips. So obviously they're throwing their money in their beliefs so they and also think Intel came out now some stuff so I'm thinking before the end of this year the FCC is kind of open up that spectrum. I know it's never going to happen because you know one of the things that understand appreciate all. This is that this kind of wraps around five G. Five G. really has two parts to it's called new radio and it's called network slicing not GonNa get into network slicing but the new radio component includes Wifi. It was it was all shared and I can have different priority schemes but with a and the ability to dedicate certain amount of bandwidth just certain clients like voice clients. That wise here it's reliable. Actually that by the end of this year we're we're going to add about one point. Six Billion Wifi six devices one point six billion Wifi six bucks at the same time they're saying by the end of twenty twenty five. We'll have one point five billion five G. devices so you're never going to replace these devices. "Favorite topic Wi fi six. This is traditionally known as eighty-two Dot Eleven A. X. and we're all all of buzz over it in the tech press because we're like. Hey it's gotta be super fast. It's GonNa have this amazing ability to handle lots and lots and lots and lots of devices devices but for the most part Kevin and I after looking into it have been telling people that they don't actually need to rush out and replace their routers for a Wi. I five six router because in the whole you're not going to be dealing with quite that level of density and then the other devices you're connecting to need to also have wi fi six four it all to work so talk to me about what's your advising consumers in the home around Wifi six. I know that's not your the day to day business but I'm sure you have thoughts. No no actually just just kind of let you know one of my other hats that I wear extra. Because I'm actually the interface both the i Tripoli and the Wifi Wifi Alliance so I'm actually involved with some of that stuff at the get go and do that. But the biggest thing to understand about Wi fi six is that we by we I mean the networking vendors. There's a WIFI vendors. Over the last twenty years we create a problem for yourself because every three or four years we would come out and say. Hey we got this brand. New Technology went from eight to eleven A. TO BE GENE TO END TO. MC WAY WANT AC way too and finally a ex rather and you know every three years we'd come up to the customer was hanging. You need to buy this new stuff. It's great it's GonNa Change Your Life it's GonNa make it easy and at some point they got the end users. That's the point that this doesn't make any difference anymore. Why should I jump the Wi fi six? You know if you promise me that the last four technology's going to solve all my problems. What's important understand appreciate about Wi fi six is it totally changes the way? Why five works and it's actually a big? A change in my experience goes back to the early Easter net. Stick net cable tron days and all that stuff. So that's kind of where I've evolved from but up until this point Wifi is always work is on an access point even though I could have ten twenty thirty hundred devices connected at one time only what advice can talk at a time on a radio. Hello everybody else has to wait and that device talks and then somebody else talks and then somebody else talks now. Over the last twenty years or so with different technologies we allow these devices vices to talk faster and faster and faster but they still only talk one at a time. What happened with Wi fi six and why it is a huge change? It allows actually multiple devices to talk at one time so now instead of one client one phone one norse crawl system one device having access to the Air I can actually support dozens of device talking simultaneously and give them different priorities and this is upstream and downstream so that gives me a huge advantage that gives wifi sixty new advantage over the other technologies and part hard. That was that even though Wifi technology got faster and faster existing technology could still have an older devices on the network like a g device or even an early end device ice and when that device is talking talked really really slow and everybody else has to wait until the client gets their chance. They can talk whatever speed they can support. But with a mix of high speech locie devices on one network the slows the performance way down the best way the best analogy I used for this. It's anybody who lives near a big city. You know that whether it's the four. Oh Five Live in California or the four seventy five going around Atlanta seven o'clock in the morning you're on that highway. The highway might say sixty miles an hour. And we're all doing twelve. Just because it contention and density unfitting slower devices and Wi fi work the same way now with Wi fi six. It is a little bit faster though some offer them capabilities air and it does some other stuff as far as power saving the biggest thing is something called Fema. I saw frequency division multiple access. Big Word sounds like you know what you're talking about. What it does is it allows me? I don't want to call it actually like like switching even though it does that in a way that I can actually talk upstream and downstream to multiple clients. At one time in theory we could talk up to seventy plus clients nights at one time in reality. You're never going to see numbers like that. You're going to see a dozen or two dozen. Be Able to talk at one time but to your point which is beverly important that in order to get to realize allies the the true advantages of the true value of Wifi six. You really have to have a majority of Wifi six clients connected to that radio uh-huh because if you've got ten percent WIFI six clients and ninety percent non white by six which is probably close to what we have today. You're really not going to see that. I mean you could put a testbed bet on it and maybe see some improvement but the actual user experience isn't going to change into we start getting a lot more wifi six on that radio. That was a lot of knowledge packed in a pretty deputy. Then it sounds like you agree that no consumer needs to rush out and do this yet in and I'm like if you're GONNA buy a router sure pick a Wifi six capable one if this is like if it's your time to do this but otherwise you can pause so far. We saw a bunch of new WIFI. Six six capable routers. What are the end devices that we're GONNA see? I guess the first thing is obviously the The iphone eleven came out and well actually before for that. Samsung came out and announced their new phones. We'll support Wifi six eleven E. X. Type Technology and the phone eleven came out and said the same thing and also on the the The laptop side. There actually are some out there but most of the laptops right now are really gaming laptop. Not your traditional ones that you know. Businesses by is the ones with very labor high-performance and obviously if you're gaining you really need whatever extra benefit you can get microseconds. We'll give you an advantage. So obviously they're very very interested in the eleven next technology so that that's what we're seeing I. You know when it's a router a win it's an access point. We're just waiting for that latest technology. We're waiting for the I. Tripoli waiting for the WIFI alliance lines get further enough along that we can get that out and start selling it. Because that's the impetus to sell a new generation of product and a lot of times people don't realize and they say well where are the client why I five six eleven the X. I don't WanNa say it's not important to the phones but it just kind of what's more important. When when the IPHONE came out? The Samsung came out. They weren't front page news. Same Wifi six. That was buried down the numbers. They're talking about foldable screens and pixels. And all this other stuff so when the client side the Wi Fi. Six technology isn't really cushier isn't the main impetus to actually launch that next innovation of product. It's really good to the camera. How the screen and all that so you will always see a lag in that type of environment once again? The reason you saw laptops early on is because they were trying to get into the gaining market where obviously speed was a major driver there and I also agree with you very urban much though not just on the consumer side but on the enterprise side you don't go out and rip out a working infrastructure just to go to Wi fi sick and as you said if my network slow if it's time to fix it and I'm going to upgrade you have to go to Wi fi six because that's gonNa give you five six seven years of future crew technology and you don't want to go back and by eleven. Ac let's see one or two okay. Well then that gets into the idea of corporate networks those networks. I feel like they could take advantage a little bit earlier. And then we also talked about all things like stadiums or shopping malls. So what about those folks should they rip and replace what's not less. It's ready to make a change once again at that. My sales guys it is. Well hate me for saying that but it it is what it is actually where you're going to see. Probably the biggest growth or the biggest need for Wifi six is actually GonNa be in what we referred to as. There's a large public venues whether it's the stadium whether it's a shopping mall whether it's a place like that because what you're going to see and it's based on turnover you're going to see people turn over their phones much more often than you think. Tablets or laptops being turned over so once again. Let's give credit to the younger generation. They WANNA brand new phone every twelve months so when that brand new phone mm time comes along. That's going to be eleven ex wife by six type device and so you're gonNA see in the shopping malls you're going to see in the public spaces for bigger demands take advantage of the Wifi six capabilities versus in the enterprise. Mean if you're in an enterprise and you provide the laptop for your employees. Then obviously you probably WANNA give everybody a Wifi six as they turn over their laptops. But that's probably going to be a two or three or even four year process dependent on your corporate direction. And until you have. There's there's no real hard fast numbers. But it's just a ballpark until you have about fifty percent worth your clients as why five six capable. You're probably not going to see a big difference and then and once you actually get to that point in the enterprise. What's the big deal? Now is on access points that have dual five gigahertz capabilities. So instead of an access point with a fixed two point four radio and a fixed five gigahertz radio. You're going to have five gigahertz. You can set up that this is only going to support the Wi fi six clients so I get all my fast people together and then you take the other five gigahertz radio and say this is only going to support the non Wifi six client so actually. It's a win win for both separate them out. You're creating a slow lane. I love it. Okay well not a slowly. Let's just say an average wage. No this this would make sense. I'm I'm thinking about like on my consumer side. I'm going back there because a lot of the IOT devices for example in my home. They're not going to have six capable chips possibly forever. It's is not not a my lifetime. Yeah so I'm like Oh those guys are just going to be sitting there you know. And that's the majority of things on my network. It's not the majority of traffic but it is definitely definitely a lot of the signaling and Ping's rate so this is interesting exactly and there's a huge value. I understand that if I'm a manufacturer making an Iot device a a widget what do I want. I want that thing to signal to propagate as far as possible and I WANNA get a product that you cheapest possible and I'm gonNA product that's GonNa work pretty much anywhere in the world and I hate to I say this but two point four gigahertz perfect solution for that and even though two point four actually will work in the in the Wi fi six. They're not going to spend the money right now to do that once everything that comes John Parr on price. Then you might actually see you know. I want to sell this widget for thirty bucks so I went up. Paid five bucks for the chipset. I'm not gonNA spend any money but you're right. I need a segment. These devices out as much as possible. Got It all right now for fun. Let's talk about. Oh my gosh. Why six E which I get? What's happening here because I followed networking forever but as a consumer I think at this point is when I would want to like rip my hat off my head and just throw it on the ground and discuss us just be like? I mean the speeds that they're talking about. I can't get so anyway back to gadgets so oh nest. Hello package. Alerts are live. We talked about this it. Basically your doorbell can tell you when package has been left on your doorstep. This is a algorithm yeah. You and i both have the nest tila doorbell that's right. You moved yeah so i still have it and i do not subscribe to nest. I aware which i believe is five dollars a month but that is required for this so you gotta subscribe to get it. There's a couple. I don't want to say gotcha but a couple limitations since the package has to be set down within the bills view not just show up appear in the view but he sat down and remain stationary for short amount of time because they're you're using a machine learning recognition of the packages and it's not just gonna show you know give you a notification. If somebody walks up the package my mess telo hello doesn't cover the whole space of my front patios. I'm concerned depending on where the packages leftover even work additionally. If you get small packages it's not gonna work. Package has to be eight by ten by one roof yeah that could she does big envelopes yeah boxers on by computers and such but like maybe the new wi fi router boxes going to than not. If it's a mission you've got many many elements or many mesh points mesh points access points okay. Let's let's talk about something. I'm super excited about because i have well fitbit devices so two points one the fitbit verse two now will include madame a which is could but it's going to require your phone to be iran and fitbit is going to launch a new premium service with new.

"I recommend a company called teepee link they're very affordable but i can't plug into my my portable hotspot it doesn't have a at their net or a usb i see often yeah well they make them that'll pick up the wi fi connection from that hotspot oh and and that's that's exactly what i was hoping to here yeah teepee link p t p l i n k and i'm pretty sure let me just look but i'm pretty sure that so i've used their power line stuff i like it it works very well the idea is you're gonna have to adapters one of the gate end one at your house end the one of the house and you're right in most cases would be connected to your cable modem via and author net port but i'm pretty sure i'm gonna look that they have power line that will just pick up the wife that you basically use it as a wifi range extender and if they didn't would there be dengue like plug in yeah the but it looks like they do i'm looking at it right now it will it's the ac seventeen fifty wi fi range extender oh okay and you plug it in so you're gonna now the only caveat on on powerline networking is there can't be an interruption between the plug next to the you know the plug at the gate and the plug where the wifi is you know you can't have a junction box or fused box or anything like that.

"It's a separate phone you know and they already study seven ten because they the labels of the dog yeah i i mean they so they already know that provision area so you don't need the text labels yeah next thing i'm list a couple austrian things one thing mentioned him before is that when you have wifi calling on on your phone which is like the better experience of like getting your calls everywhere if you like a bag nolan you can use your wifi and you get better service that way i think it helps out with getting calls on your mac and ipad etcetera but if you do that in from ten on the walk screen it will say at t with in my case in scrolls say wi fi but it doesn't quite fit so i mentioned before i just wanna mention for the sake of wish list that i wasn't to change that just the tnt when i scroll down to control center in some way to nasty and then say wi fi but never compromise and just put like part of a word it's ugly it's not tasteful so i think as an oversight what would be your suggestion for carrier name is loan like like no no not like with say my name is like eighteen characters doesn't fit in by itself so variety is one on its own i think or at least they go vw which is pretty cool like something that fit some some contraction or simplification of it but but not you know or if you can't carry carries don't put it there just but a signal there.

"Yeah basically maybe it doesn't worried about the wi fi or something yeah you put you put your whatever in there whatever what have you okay base it doesn't require like trinity to run a fair day cage is that right no no you don't do anything to run it okay so i mean this is the problem with internet locks i guess or magnet locks and those kinds of things right we're like if you're depending on some penalty trinity to unlock something seems like that could be a problem you got solar flares you got emp's you got cell phone tracking issues you got rfid and basically so to build one get you get like a like a bucket or can't like a like a container of some kind okay okay and and then you're gonna get cardboard which is the insulator okay okay and then you get aluminum tape for the seems to go around forget it you can research on your on not going to tell you my my cages take your own it was funny for you can't stick magnets to it or anything go make your own fatty i'm not telling no you know what i'm sorry that was that was unfair of me i'm just i'm i'm just i'm concerned you even own a hand crank radio yes okay i haven't eaten hand crank radio that i got from k q e d for giving the money i also have a bucket of can poop in if there's an apocalypse but could make it out of a trash can you make it anything but what you want or even offered me a faraday cage as far as i know you can buy them if you want but i don't.

"But of course wi fi my local network to house who network at the office in a warehouse shop area that i work i'm able to do internet stream and i'm the tech guy podcast junkie and we still there oh no no yeah the the question is why since i haven't activated i haven't activated it to my account i'm using it just basically as an mp three player in the stream online i can't stream anything but podcast and it's not activated and i found this out by mistake i had you listening to one of your podcasts 'cause i listen to all your stuff and i'm driving and i had the thing in my phone seeing in my pocket and i'm still listening to it and i'm a half a mile away and i'm still getting you and it played through your entire podcast and i've been doing it every day for a month now and i still keep getting the podcast consistently if i stop it or i try to to go in and go to a different podcast i lose it and i have to go back to my where my network is is reachable and then i have to start over why why would that be happening when the phone is not activated isn't that bizarre idea what's going on all right so a couple of things so so that phone has even if you don't activate it has wi fi capability so you can get data a lot of people do this they they they have a leftover phone and they use it as kind of like an ipod they use it as they give it to a kid so so that's that's you know you're connecting to wifi right you're on a wifi network at some.

"So yeah so the perfect example of that is is is an environmental center the the checks for you know poisons in the air right one form or another so there's a bunch of those out there right now and enter those they write to a web address and then we take that we put it on our messaging platform and our messaging platform transports data both ways and are are an analytics for omediate representation of an event is all performed on the gateway so the gateway is a hub could be a phone in our case we use android the android operating system of which can run on a phones watches android tv's and and we use that gateway to collect data from the b l e or or or from a wi fi connection we use a rapid transport connector which which means that basically a publish subscribe to q so there's no an analysis between the d the piece of data in and the the gateway in other words it's just a drops off a mailbox someone picks okay interesting just just add a bit more like shine a little brighter light on this what feels talking about as we've got a sensor and let's say they breathing censor however that being sense and what we gotta get the data we gotta get the data to the cloud and so the gateway that feels referring to here would be a watch or it'd be the phone which so the connection would be the bluetooth from the say the breeding censor to the watch of the phone and in the phone which is where i think are going to go now then.
