Tiger Woods honored at championship match with this heartfelt gesture

"Tiger Woods taking to Twitter. It is hard to explain how touching today Woz when I turned on the TV and saw all the red shirts To every golfer and every fan. You are truly helping me get through this tough time. Now to this point, we've had tigers team tweeting. Couple of updates, not a whole lot. Initially the doctor sharing with us what the injuries looked like and how the surgery went. Then long after the fact after it had been after it had happened, and everybody knew about it Tigers team tweeting that he'd been moved to Cedars Sinai Medical Center. This was Tiger himself. It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the TV and saw all the red shirts Column or a cow to Who considers Tiger to be his idol. He's early twenties, has already collected a bunch of wins, including WGC On Sunday, a three shot victory over Brooks kept to He actually got emotional himself. He couldn't wear red. Because his His gear didn't arrive in time. But he wanted the win to be in honor of Tiger Woods. Tiger means everything to me and you know, Yes, you have the crash and thankfully he's all right, and hopefully he has a quick and great recovery. But I don't think we say thank you enough. So I want to say thank you to tiger because you know sometimes you you lose people too early, And that's like, you know, Toby, I lost my grandpa. About a month ago. And you don't get to say thank you enough so Thank you guys. Column or a cow. It starts with Tiger means everything to me. And it it took me a couple of times listening to it to realize he said, Kobe you can kind of hear it, but I wasn't sure if I misheard it or if he was talking about his grandfather. Dimensions. Kobe Tigers accident You can hear him tear up and get choked up when he talks about his grandfather about a month ago. So these golfers Emotional themselves going out there and playing In Tiger's honor. But how cool to know that he was watching that he was able to do that? That in and of itself is a huge positive.

"And monte never makes sense to me right doesn't like it happens every couple montes ryder cup. Singles record is the thing. he liked prizes. The most and eventually got to the point. Something happened on the final green. I don't know exactly what it was. And monte is getting ready to plot his pot and paint stewart's like just pick it up good like it's over. You know they have the match. I think or whatever. It was like way longer than jack conceded to. Tony jacklin i mean it was is very different situation whole thing with like with jack. Where should this golf course exists. Yeah there was a market for it and a development or an owner. His boy under an owner like wanted to build this golf course and sure enough. Yeah absolutely do we need to call it the concession and have his whole hand job for these you know. At what point celebrating your great sportsmanship like also really bad sportsmanship. Fourteen exactly like it's like that's a really good point and then at the opening of the course is people. Jack makes his huge deal of it and he says all right you know. I gave you a big concession tony. I want you to make session. I want you to play the blue tees today. I'm gonna play the. I'm gonna play the back. Tees just viscerally. My guess that day jack. Further back yeah. What a dick like jacqueline was league. It's so outside the spirit of what the place was supposed to be about. And jack couldn't get arizona way. Tc that i mean that story. That's a tough scene for jack. If it's like he's a bad businessmen he's arrogant. He's always talking about himself anytime like we got honda in two weeks. Listen to jack. Talk about himself and his ice cream and barbara and all this stuff for two hours in the booth barbara. We're talking about your birthday on on the air I can't believe you didn't call in. I thought for sure we're going to see him at some point but yeah the whole i mean just jamming the concession thing down our throat i think was easy easy to roll your eyes at but that shouldn't come as a surprise. All right onto the lpga tour. Nelly korda wins the game bridge. Lpga at lake. Nona she The quarter sisters. Become the first pair sisters to win back to back events since and char- lada sorenstam in two thousand. I am hearing this. I don't remember that first of all. I didn't think that was the thing that sisters would win back to back events on the lbj tour. That's truly magnificent. But big step for finale. That's a big win. That's a really good field. This week is there. i went on on. Us soil soil a fourth winter. Fifth win now. A four fourth win He's only twenty two. If we're talking about things calm has four wins. He's twenty four now. he's twenty two grand. She's been out there for longer. But that twenty two is older on the lpga tour than correct twenty. Four is. I would say this was her. This was her fourth win. Yes she won. The won to taiwan shirts championships. The the women's australian open. And then this one i was out there for a couple of days this week and it remains one of the few golf swings that i will just stop what i'm doing to watch. I think it is the model gulf spring for somebody that wants to hit the ball better. Like that's how you'd wanna hit it and just watching her hit the same cut three would or five would it was on the range like on repeat it was just it was relentless and it was. It was not jaw dropping but it was truly inspiring. She's got the ladies version of rory swing. I think long rhythmic effortless. Totally free i. Let's go one of the few people on the planet other than other than kids. Let's let their hands go. I think yeah i mean. She was fourth in the world heading into this week. I don't know what this will will do for her. And terms of ranking but man. What a start to the season for for those. Those two women i was like known a- lake nona is pure it is the it is maybe taking over the overseas capital of the world from tv sawgrass. It is overseas everywhere. I mean that's a false. I mean it's exactly what you would expect it to be. I think but it was in literally perfect condition. I would say and the the women were just absolutely raving about it. I mean that that's a premier premiere golf course to play on the lpga torre and they were stoked to be there. And it's kind of a cool. I mean obviously like extremely extremely wealthy environment but like a weird got a european vibe to the neighborhood and kind of friendly feel to it and i followed thirty six holes with Working on a on a video about with Madden sandstrom that they'll be more about here in the future. Madam was paired with annika sorenstam for the first two days and the whole not the whole neighborhood but like all vodkas friends were out. The following earned cheering her on. It was kind of like a. I mean they probably. I don't know they know her as probably the neighbor more than they do the golfer which doesn't play professional golf event thirteen years and it was kind of a cool vibe of just like her friends. She's in there talking to her friends in between shots. That could just a real local vibe to it more than it was like a pressure pack tournament and on those it's a legitimate legitimate greatness and in the last time we talked about on the padres under various different circumstances and not to ignore that completely. But if we can't ignore that for a second it is watching her play golf without very clearly not having near the same strength that she had in the past not the same driving distance like. She's mounted sixty yards pastor. She's fifty years old and just watching her like hit just like almost head. High wedges app pens and having madeline. Who's born the top fifty players in the world like stopper after around the teach me your wedges like i need to learn how to hit them like that and watching it. Rain shots repeatable. Reputable reputable repeatable wedge action. It was super coat. Ac- she chipped in on the her thirty fifth hole and then parred the last hole to make the cut on the number and it was on was cold. Power rank isleworth and lake nona for. That's interesting. I think lake nona might be a little more interesting. It's close it's very close. Call they're pretty inseparable but one. I think i've got to play like no no but of stock group. You're a big fan. Big fan halters house. There's it's the saw henry extensive without their practice. Pollsters cars. I did not see police cars. He was down in puerto. Rico actually saw he had the ferraris in the kind of creative revenues engine also worth noting. Our friends callaway. Thirty three epic drivers were employed this week on the pga tour They were the undisputed equipment leader at the first fulfilled. Lpga of twenty twenty one thirty three the new epoch drivers in play making it the number one model in the field by far their more epic drivers at the event and there were total drivers for any other brand in the number one. Fairway would number one. The event and odyssey has more putters and play the number two and three brands combined. They are dominating on the about that. You know you like to your Your new epoch. flash three would. I think i did. I was hitting it went to the range with. Tc and exceed epoch. Speed three would. How are you saying chasing the money. When on the pto tour when it's really about fedex..

"Purposeful practice it is like it's made my practice having something to actually like noah it's tracking it to knowing that like i'm not just blasting balls out in oblivion they're making changes like a driver setup like hitting ten with one you know the draw bias on it hit and ten more without it. It's like you actually get it instead of just being anecdotal equipment season. Well women change season. And it's a. It's a good time to have so. I'm doing sessions of eight drivers session debate. Respiratory minute session may rest session of eight and like my swing speed was going up with each session. Which i found interesting was like the more you get another thing. I'm gonna be working on brooks koepka. Don't have a lot to say other than like this. We gotta come out tension even a little more than the win. He's going to go. I had this one mark to solid. Yeah yeah it's kind of like all right. That win wasn't not that anyone on pj towards a fluke but you don't know what you're gonna give from brooks week to week. But a trending brooks is a concern as we head into major essien also somewhere where he probably feels comfortable because it feels like some of the stuff he plays on south dakota too. Yep i got some jason dave's from a lot of the city. I think it was more. I give them credit like. He's you know. I've i've kind of been stuck between like this brooks does you really not care like is this is the alpha stuff. Real not real. I mean he just like saturday. he's just steps up and makes these twenty foot par. Putt suggest other dudes like he just he he. He feels like the ice man. You know like. I don't find anything rooting for him. I almost felt like. I have to kind of tip my cap to. I just feels like it feels like the moment is never too big for him like all the he just. He really does kind of outlast. People especially on hard golf courses and like this was an example. More colleges was too far out in front but brooks just he didn't fade. You know what i mean. He just he just it out all the way to the end today Keo a feels like a good spot for brooks kind of don't like talking about hitting a really straight off ball. Yeah that's the guy that i think of when like other than hitting like probably even more so in the morikawa hitting they've wickedly straight driver also got by watching him hit wedges all week he's got such good tempo with the with the approach like he hits the ball mile but doesn't look like it's it's a it takes a lot of effort. I think brooks is becoming the guy that i want the rib to be. Well you know. I had that marked as well. I think the ribs stuck between brooks in kind of that d- gaffe like on the best bad as dude out here and a try really hard and be an like nama stay like nothing's gonna phase me you like a little bit of like like and then he just get stuck in this apathetic middle ground where you're like sorry. It's not so much brooke. It's like brooks d gaffe and billy ho all in you know billy who is living and dying on every shot. And it's almost like got a lot of billy ho takes to well. Yeah but i'm i feel like rory it's like he stuck in the middle of those things. Does that make sense it. Yeah it does. I think he probably changes like week to week. Feel like with what he says in terms of you know i've heard him say you know. Maybe i'm just not as good at golf. Used to be and also like you know. Say how passionate about it. And i think he is trying to figure out what works for them in terms of how much to care and exact lorries out there where which is to be clear he really cares like carrying too much can hurt you right so do try to convince yourself that i. It's almost like kind of fascinating to watch that. Play out week to week with him. But it's just disappointing. Because you're like. God roy like you are you are the alpha like i hit this before all these kids. Get back to that man. It almost feels like with very that it is. We've held him to the standard of the guy that won four majors for a long time. But it's been long enough now that it's kind of like you know do kinda need to reprove it like you're you're not that guy anymore. It's been six years. We're up on seven years since you've won a major so like company did you can't you can't pull on that experience of having done it nearly as closely when it's been that long story i think i he's. He's the only guy out there that i'm like rory in interviews and everything give me less just less information like you're putting yourself out there way too much you're too vulnerable and second. I think some of the stuff that made rory really really really successful very like gave him a massive advantage over the field. The field had time to catch up on that stuff right like rory felt like he had crazy speed and create you know and and kind of taking over the mantle from tiger on that front and then other guys like technology caught up other guys caught up launch angles caught up whereas it felt like rory always kind of had that high launch. Hit up on it kind of mentality even from a young age. Yep i wonder worry gets out of a tease. He finished six this week. But which by any measure. It's really good. is incredible. be sitting here flashes. He made long putts today like he. He played solid but it just doesn't he feels like there's no juice out there with them. Seventy eight percent of greens this week. Yeah i. I don't know anecdotally for me when i watch rory feel every time i get frustrated with him and his wedges still where it's like you'll just put a pitch and putt your backyard or something. It's like it's the thrower not a pitcher. Just start just get better from one hundred yards in in because you're always there and it always feels like he puts it to like fifteen feet. I'm like come on man what are the stats say. Yeah and that's why i said anecdotally i. It's almost like every time i tune in. That's what i see. And maybe that's not the case. Because i think some of this is just. It's not sample size but it's sample that were delivered on tv right. That could point it. Yes i and i remember. I know i've looked this up in the past. I hate the google roy macaroni. Pga tour you don't get you get the video game and not as profile. I remember looking this up and be like actually numbers will show out a better. You know better than you would expect them to from a certain number. So he's yeah this year hundred fifty second approaches from fifty to one hundred and twenty five yards hundred and ninety third from one hundred twenty five to one hundred and fifty yards damn not good average of twenty four feet ten inches switch to a new shaft this week. Like he's making tweaks. Yeah he's he's working on things. But but really good from fifty to seventy five yards. That's for two attempts. So i it again. The data on the tour y- yard sit like what tire refused to hit the ball to like you would avoid at all costs like i'm never putting the ball with fifty to seventy five hundred punching out to that. Yeah i know. I hope that he gets i. Don't know say firelight under his ass. 'cause i know he's trying. I just wonder at a certain point when you've had so many tomor roy. He's like product favorite player. Out there right and you say do less than the interviews. I love that. He's well yeah. Of course we love it but he so we have this question from mike mckee fifty one was wise. It when you look at the leaderboard like that we had going into today. The only guy you knew for sure wouldn't win was rory god. That's like oh i cut. It was far back though he was. I did not think he was in this to to potentially win today. Yeah but the rory come in tweets are are few and far between sixty eight percent of his greens all week. Seventy eight percent on the week On sunday but sometimes like with the wedges again anecdotal. It just feels like he's.

New Apple event and iOS 14

"So Apple Event Week one of possibly two or three this fall. Who now this one I think might be most relevant to us though. Probably, it was definitely a pretty substantial like. Sort of changing my plans or like was pretty significant turnaround and I mean, it's it's weird too that we don't really know what else is going to be coming and it was strange to the first event wasn't an iphone event If if depend if you're not listen to this in real time, this was the time flies event where applejack talk introduced The new apple watches their fitness system and the new ipads an apple one. I, suppose the sort of like main things they announced and. Yeah it was. It was kind of a weird weird event. Video just like WGC was and. We got a whole line of new stuff and a whole lot of I suppose as on theme for Twenty. Twenty some unprecedented Changes in the way apple rolls things out. Yeah this is So you know in addition to just you know it being an event where there's no actual in person event those changes the biggest difference for developers is that we got a lot less time than we usually do with the GM SDK and GM. Before released, they announced her enduring the event yesterday that Iowa's fourteen and watch fourteen. We'll be coming out tomorrow, which is today. So we had about twenty four hours of notice and twenty four hours with the official. S. K and twenty four hours roughly to like build test and submit to the APP store. Any anything that uses the new decay. So it's been quite a rush. That certainly is not the ideal sketch for for anything. I don't know why did it this way but I do know it's hardware but. I'm disappointed that this way, but you know for me honestly, this doesn't affect me at all because of where I am in my development and I'll get to that in a little bit How how much? I know you had a very different story here how much did it affect you? I it's so going into the event yesterday. When I started like sat down to watch it in my mind what was going to happen is that they were going to announce the new apple watches. They were going to announce that they were GONNA strip be available for. Ordering or reordering this time this week, and then they would probably ship late next week and then I was fourteen and watch os seven would bend traditionally launch sometime made a middle of next week. So typically like about a week after the announcement. I always launch isn't it hardware launches like maybe a day or two after that? and so that was what I was kind of going into the event expecting and to then sort of like very, you know about halfway through the event see that it's like, no, it's coming out tomorrow like it was a bit of a range of emotions. So for this particular, like launch cycle, I have four different four updates that I was expecting and planning to try and launch relief coincident. With the update and so I have a sort of smallish updates to plus blessings sleepless plus medium-sized update to wash with and I'm launching which Smith with I was fourteen, and so I've gotten those APPs ropes sort of it's a tricky place they were roughly in the place that I was expecting them to be Around launch because the reality is whenever at like in a typical cycle when apple releases the GM after the event and we have about a week before launch. Usually try and submit my updates around the time that the GM comes out, and maybe it's not the day that the it comes out but it's within a day or two because I want him to through APP review if there's any rejections or things that I need to deal with so I was sort of ready but it was definitely a little bit chaotic to then have this feeling of like. I have no idea how fast APP review going to be able to turn these things around I'm going to need you sort of just like really just frantically survived buckle down and get you know sort of download the GM. which was a very strange process in this time because apparently there's two GM's. Very quickly issued a revision. The one that ends an nine is the newest one which I still have yet been able to actually download keep getting the old one for some probably cash-rich reason but anyway, it seems like the O. Eight one worked fine for what I was working on. It seems like it's a TV Os issue that you might need to have one or the other, but it's like I got that down and all my rebuild and just verify that I don't have the newest one I have the oh eight one even though the link said I downloaded it. So That's interesting I mean it's who knows what's going on. I think the reality is that seems like kind of a minor point because the reality is we are GM and then it's just like you know had a few hours of the install install gems. Actual test devices are playing with it. Make sure things seem to work on the side. It seems like the GM didn't change anything developer focused as far as. I can tell like it didn't I mean there's fixes and things in it that I certainly need to verify and make sure maps worked but it wasn't one of those years where like here is like this major change that is coincident with new hardware that we now need to sort of adapter like if they say they added a whole new complication family. For the new. Apple. Watch something like that like when they launched the series four. Apple Watch suddenly there was all of the graphic in like the infographics complication families that were just like appeared and while I didn't strictly need to have them on like for Launch Day. There was a substantial change that needed to adapt at least a burnt any of that but then. Turned around got my update submitted and it seems like a preview was definitely working overtime last night 'cause I submitted all four APPS yesterday evening and they were all approved within the the survey, the existing APPs role approved within a couple of hours then aged Smith, which up brand new APP with recurring a recurring in episode purchase subscriptions and things that you usually take a longer time was approved within maybe like five or six hours. So it's like a bit crazy and hectic but fine

"We have to get to get you in the rotation on the phone lines to schedule The UB One coaching people people have been asking me if I'm available I said, yes. So and then Neil need to get him actually he resisted my advice. You're a years worth of stuff to correct because he had his drivers set the wrong way for an entire year, which is can't change too many variables that want you're not supposed to change the only one very time right so So check that out our youtube channel if you can we have a lot to talk about there's a lot a lot of golf that has been played this past weekend we. As the Barracuda is I, think still in the front nine if something crazy happens, we're going to go back into the studio in the back half and talk about that. I up on the counter of course is the WGC Fedex. St. Jude Classic Justin Thomas Emerges as a winner by two shots I believe no sorry three shots final round sixty, five he wins one point eight, two, million dollars and takes an insurmountable lead in the fedexcup. Now takes at least two weeks for somebody to catch him at this point. At this point I finally matters PGA tour. They're very relieved that you know it's not Llanto, Griffin or somebody like that leading the fedexcup at this point I doubt many people in Ponte Vedra rooting necessarily for Brendon Todd to be the player of the year to win the fedexcup or you know win the Wyndham rewards whatever's coming up but. Justin Thomas We did this last time when he was not a killer at work day Dogra. Killer. I think he's still a dog. He didn't have killer tendencies off t down the stretch. He got of the Green, pretty good own that. Like how are you missing there? It was a horrible. So I. Miss Their. How well I understand how they didn't get it. I promised we're Saving Hampshire Dan for Hamster it'll be. We're going to let it fly but. We never have to see it go across the bridge, but the way the graphics work I have no idea how that ball crossed the. Talking about the one that got hung up on the back of that bunker. Wow he hit. He hit that when they're like he deserved. But like how do you Miss Oh? Yeah. I seriously you're on cruise control. How do you Miss Right there and? That was a function of and we can talk CBC Southwind, but a couple pins that were like, Hey, go go get this pen if you want it. But if you hit a poor shot, YOU'RE GONNA pay price and that is why I think we got a separated strong leaderboard not an ended up with a huge two way tie for second. But there was you know really good dividing line shots and we'll talk and we'll get the sixteenth a little bit later. So but yeah JC was feeling it going for birdies and just tug a little wedge and when you talk a wedge, it goes along and ends up in that bunker and that was the Neil Miss. Yeah I think. I, think it southwind is not my favorite course in the rotation but I think a good example of a golf course to create some good entertainment until I I'll come with some positivity on southwind I like it. It's a good tournament course. It looks hard. It looks like there's a lot of dog legs yet shape the ball Greens are small. It's not a driving contest decidedly, and for that I like and it was still a good test even though it soggy as hell right in there two, it held up very well scoring. Example on twitter of Brooks on that Little Wedge Shot Yeah Brooks just not getting quite enough spin on it, and as a matter of you know that thing would stop with another eighteen inches but the margins are super thin out there with the short grass around the Greens I to combine two points into one with that shot with you know how good jt's so to decide to go after that pen, both of them were out of position off the tee. So their third shots into the par-five sixteenth. Not where they wanted to be playing from it as a back left pin and Jason the first cut of rough, and he had to drop that down an elevator shaft with spin to stop close to the whole, and if you want to go at that pen, which he did, he took on the risk and knocked it stiff and you probably wouldn't have been able to appreciate just how good that shot. was until you see Kepco come in. He's a little closer from the fairway unable to get as much spin as he needs but his ball rolls just off the back and then down a slope and does not stop in long grass and it's like everything we've been talking about the last several weeks he had a chip at the bottom of that hill off short grass to know green to work with. We didn't get to hear him really talking to play at a bunch of different ways. We didn't get to hear him talk through all the options with ricky unfortunately but he chipped away past the whole made bogey and that is what I wanna see the PGA tour event coming down the stretch like guys deciding. Let's take pins on. If you missed the shot, you're GONNA, pay the price in that decided. To tournament right there on that whole I was awesome. Yeah I'm still I'm shook by Brooks dumping it in the water on teen eighteen that was looked. Yeah. That was a you know everything burns kind of move come down I don't know I know I can't figure that out and I knew Brown tweed something he said you know Brooks isn't going to drive out at bat in the in the company softball. Which is essentially what he's WGC as right. But at the same time from everything, I've heard Brooks loves money money and that he has four hundred, fifty, five, thousand dollars is a lot of money he. I know he's trying to win it there on eighteen and I'm not even reflecting not that much on the I. Mean That's you gotta take on that water. If you WanNa you know have a good shot at making birdie on that whole I understand that but making double out of it, cost them four, hundred, fifty, five, thousand dollars and someone that I've hear some rumblings. That likes to gamble it from time to time and Maybe spend some money lavishly and and plays for the money. We turn Joel David Talk about blame for the money and I think tour guys don't talk enough about how much the money actually really does matter to them but he made it look like he didn't care there on eighteen more. So than don't know. Reality it's funny because he plays for these trophies and then I think the other. Obviously the trophies equal money but otherwise, he does he truly doesn't give a shit about the tour events and it. Money in the tour of they actually had a fun graphic before the day to day was about. So the storylines going into, it was like well kept a balance out his trophy case, which was four major wins. Three PGA tour wins which I've never seen the tour of really get a go out of their way to acknowledge the major wins and the fact that he hasn't won a bunch of towards beginning of tour wins. Today I. Think James Corden tweeted about it today. The tour refuses to acknowledge the WGC's are not. They're not just PGA tour events, their collection of all the Worldwide Association of PG or whatever they call. It doesn't feel like that when you're watching and even on the graphics they refused to acknowledge your tour wins current year European tour wins. It's like the most jingoistic and career. Thing ever yeah. Yeah. At no point like every now and then I'll see I guess it's just how it's presented to us but you'll see a graphic on from the European tour twitter something about this event. You know like Oh yeah it's also kind of a European tour event and it really really doesn't feel like you know what it's this is hamstring creeping in. I feel for the British fans a lot because from all sides, they don't see any golf playing through happens and you and Murray on sky was beside him. So he was really upset today on the fact that the directors were not showing Tom Lewis enough which was insane and listen I'd love to blame covid for all that but this stuff happened before that happened, but that's not quite get to that just yet. Let's save the good stuff. We'll save the good stuff Brennan Todd, held the fifty four holy tough seen today Shwaiki today. Yes. That's twice this year that does happened and it. Yeah it sucks I mean he's had an unbelievable year I. Wish he would you know hang in there a little bit longer on these Sundays but he ended up tied for fifteenth with Ricky of course, who shot three over the broadcast crew was calling it out pretty early on there saying, Hey, he's walked showed his shoulders look really tense and he's walking differently yeah it's gotta be hard. To, tour to wait around for teatime all day and I you know it's not all that press What was it timothy frequent this guy fall on twitter's. Brennan, Todd and Ben on coming down the last like a budget drug girls coming home at six, and they should have to carry their shoes that was by tweet of the week. That was that was hilarious and on hit some I mean they're talking about all the work he's putting with with facts and all that, and then he had some good putts today and he had some shaky..

"The one interesting part of it, and of course, it's baked into the line we have over under your two and a half minus four hundred, eight street fights for Jennifer. Maya have gone to. Decision though she really is the decision machine though when you over minus four hundred, that's why the end of the day this one's probably going to go the distance you know Maya's fights all do they're pretty even if Maya can get it to the ground she's probably GonNa win a decision if it stays standing the whole time Joe Joe Calderwood will probably outbox. Jennifer. Maya. But this fight pretty close I don't have a bad either. But if you forced me to bed as this line keeps teaming up, I would probably take my in the big class. I mean, these women's fights tend to go the distance and we saw that the last fight of wasn't was like minus four seventy we are toying with the course did go over on that one. All right. Next down on the card, we're going to go to official plays by us. We'd talk about the comb event, but you do have apply here in in the next match being Randy Brown sent they look. This one in the welterweight division and was just take it away with your your first official play in the car. I was blown away here. Some really sharp. MMA people I know or Lee see that at some of them are betting on rainy Brown, but the to sharp that maybe people that I kinda. Reach out to after I, make play both like the day Luca as a as I do here. The only bewildering thing to me is the center Luquet is twelve into in his last fourteen fight seven in one in his last eight, and they'll only two losses are wonderboy Thompson, a top five welterweight and Leon Edwards who may get the next title shot at Tamer Gilbert Burns. WHO's GonNa get the next title. Shot at Kamara Rosemont though to the top five fighters in the world, this is a guy who's been ranked for awhile now has they very fan friendly style and his only twenty eight years old. You would think the have would be pushing this guy to fight other rank guys because they want him in the title picture because he's so exciting and Oh, by the way so good this is the guy who's Beating Nico Price Twice Brian. Barberini Platinum Mike Perry allow Mohammed who just had an amazing performance I mean vicinity Lucas, resumes legit, and on the other side I just don't understand why he's fighting a second straight on ranked opponent. I understood the Niko price by their first fight was so good. You trying to kick off that's amazing. Pay Per view card at with Cova going on why not put on A barn burner for the fan and fight Niko Price Again in Florida where Nicos from oh by the way it was a barn burner again wanted amazing fight that was but now why are you fighting Randy Brown why aren't you fighting one of the top welterweight in the world it just doesn't make any sense and if we look at Randy Brown I, mean these guys have a lot of opponents in common. Randy. Brown lost to Nico Price Who vison day Lou, Gabi twice he locked to believe Muhammad, who've said they loo- kb? This is a guy who hasn't been able to get it done his winds come over Mickey gaul whose massively overweighted older Wurley Alvarez up Brian Kerr Mosey is just to into and it lasts four fights yet. He's getting the opportunity of a lifetime biting against the ranked welterweight here. Look Day Lou gay doesn't lose to these kind of guys and in most cases he buried them. This is another one that I actually have two plays. On I laid the would with the day. Luke. 'cause I really thought he should be minus three fifty here and I also thought laid a little bit on the under because you get plus one, fifty five and throughout his career vicinity locate the finishing machine sixteen of eighteen wins come by finish, and he's a guy that has a lot of ways to finish you quickly. So I took the under plus one, fifty five and I also late the would within day Lou gay which on to me on paper looks like a little bit of a mismatch. Like in static blaze coming out of the gate strong first official place on on both sides in the total moving down the main card. This is a rematch of a fight from a few years ago the Nada and Bobby Green and the rare draw would you don't see very often in the by game boxing or Anime, and you have play here as well. Yeah. I don't and mostly just speak a fence. So active and I really like guys that are that fight a lot I think it helps you stay in that routine keeps you in the gym landover nod as far nine times since two thousand, sixteen, five times since these two last in and had that draw in October twenty, seven gene. So I like the fact that he's keeping busy they both far fought your are closed. They both lost the decision to to close. at the end of the day. But the problem with green here is he's just for whatever reason the judges never seemed to appreciate his style and he goes the distance and most of his fight nine of his last ten fights have gone the distance yet he's just two five and one in his last eight fights with two wins coming over a forty year old Clay Guido at the end of his career and in Erich Koch wasn't even in the UFC anymore every other time he stepped up its in Barposa closed Pouria Rashid Magomedov Francisco Rinaldo who he thought they all beep Bobby Green. On the other side Landover, not I'm self is only two two in one since the fight with green but he's been fighting a lot I think he's the more active striker. I think he's going to throw more volume here Bobby Green ten to not throw a lot of volume, and that's not good for a guy who who's most of his fights go the distance into dozen have knock out power I liked the activity from Veneta, who's a little bit younger and I think at the end of the day, he's going to out volume bobby green and end up winning a decision in this fight. Disagree with you there I like it when he spicer price around this range but. Typically, like the look to dog when he but it's hard to get on the dog in this case I'm with you on that one. Let's finish out the card here. Again, I'm on a favorite obviously, this is a different price, Kevin Harlan against Trevor Giles functioning out the main card I should say this one in the middleweight division. I just don't see a path to victory really projectiles. Yeah and the big trouble here this is a battle for Texas both these guys are from Texas. They were supposed to fight each on their on the regional scene and they never got to now they get to battle in the UFC. They're both fairly young I think one's twenty, seven, hundred, twenty, eight. So they're both right in their prime. The big problem Gile is going to have this fight is that hall industry inches taller and has a big reach advantage and that could be. Seven inches. Yeah I. Mean That's the problem that I think Giles is gonNA run into here and so he has to get this fight to the ground but Kevin Holland is shown lately that he has some tremendous athleticism I think as long as he keeps it standing that's probably Holland's fight to lose, but it was a little too pricey for.

"Accuracy in terms of those two individual rankings to come up with a number three spurs total driving, and driving this week, you've gotta to be the right combination of long and straight especial especially this week with some narrow fairways but we know what the drill is with Paul Casey we know his ball striking is terrific is as good as anybody, but it's the potter I mean, all Casey all of a sudden becomes Park Casey and he's very frustrating to to to watch because he'll knock a shot to five or six feet and you're like, okay, we got an easy Birdie here. WE'RE GONNA pick up. A shot here, and then all of a sudden if you're looking at PJ toward dot com, like it's not on the air early in the morning. Okay. Five feet to the whole many quiz on it, and then he's got a punt coming back apart from about four feet that he's knock it three or four feet five. So that's what happens with call. Casey's got a little better record on Bermuda, but it took him at one hundred to one and then one guy who's actually never want on the tour because he is a rookie but ever feeling he's GonNa live this place I kept Scotty chef were and at eighty to one Start on the restart this guy him and Hob. When we're on the two is that we're GONNA rightly battle for rookie of the year that's still may be the case or twenty seconds. It's the memorial is showing since they resumed quay and look getting pj to her maiden win against the field like this is not going to be an easy task. But for the last had winters at least have memphis have one on their court debut. Dustin Johnson harassing was Daniel, Berger Packed in Twenty Sixteen Jeff Top ten and strokes getting off the tee top ten in total driving top ten par-four performance. So the typically, he there, he even though that name doesn't really jump out at you when you've got so many top fifty world ranked players in the field. This is a guy that's not going to out to you but yet yet, he's only to what you would take. This guy would be like hundred fifty to one in a real long bomb this field, but he's not. So that shows me getting a little bit of respected the market. Interesting that's quite five plays. Now, you I would imagine you very your unit size. Yes. And is it I'm sorry. Yeah. I usually play shorter. Or more on some of the shorter prices like I plough more on Joplin Pat that I will on Jeff Learn Gate. Gotcha and then you had a nice seek the voice could I wanNA make sure. So you have Sunjay is that Guy Before Casey, right? Yeah. Okay. Awesome Aman will good stuff as always we got the majors starting are resuming. Let next week with the PGA Championship. So looking forward to next week as well. Yeah absolutely. Good luck. Doug this week and thanks for having me on and good luck to all the listeners. All right. Thanks to West just reminder. The final twenty two teams made their way down to Orlando and ready to get back out on the court while the ending to this year's basketball season will be different than years past there.

"Ten in the world but there hadn't been up there consistently with all of them for how he's played so far this year. Okay interesting. That's not an email expecting, but let's run with it. I'm okay with that. Are you sitting down. West. I am sitting down. Okay because. I'm going my my other bet is Tony fee now. Okay. I know he's a punchline it a lot of these things I get it and frankly I'm the one delivering a lot of those punch lines but. I mean when you have something these odd this ridiculous. I. Think you have because his form has been so good. So it's Fifty, five, one, it's down to forty five to one. I'm just checking Caesar's in front of me obviously that a lot of options out there is play a strong I I, get it but. He, just can't close can't win but. His talents there. He's. He's changing caddies this week again. So maybe that's the answer who knows but I just had to take it. Well I can't I get that. That's a bad idea here. I actually did add a small bet on him for next week PGA in the in in the forties and like you said, he came in caddy's he split with Gregg Bodine. After the memorial at Boyd Summer as a swing coach on the bag last week. But boy does can't chatting for his nephew Preston I believe in orange ferry tour events. So nother different caddy this week for free now but what I think is going to end up happening dog is I don't know if it's GonNa be a major hope way for my wager say it will be but it's going to be one of these really big events as we've seen outflows fee now Hispanics got I believe. The staff that I saw are the angle is always thirty top tens in the last four years. Tony Female has and how the number of top pens without a with. on the PTA tour and his last win was before to Rico. Open back in twenty sixteen ever since I got thirty top ten. That is the most of any player on tour by far. Second most is Tommy Fleetwood who of course was playing over here more in the states now, who has plenty of wins worldwide but doesn't have the win on American soil yet and Fleetwood got sixteen top ten. So that's a huge gap there between thirty and sixteen and I think what is gonNA happen we're seeing out is he's GonNa win. A big that like all all this heartache and all of these coming close and whatnot because he was the only short price guy that was even in contention at the three m last week and and I get that people were GonNa look and say Oh. Gosh. She couldn't get it done in the three m against the budget triple digit hundred to one plus shot guys you know how is he gonNa get dodd in a in a big event like WGC or major but but that's off like that's what happens. Right that's GONNA come when. You wouldn't expect it expecting the way waste to some easy field, but not against one of the better fields in the world. So I'm not mad at that now that at all. I. Agree. It's GonNa Happen at some point, right like your point. Now, I don't know if it's a major but I think at some point it's going to happen and I'm just trying to you know find the needle haystack with the payout. So that was the only two I have Jimmy. Others. I got a couple more I. I ended up on five this week. A couple of them were gonNA live We're just price plays and I got some gate him near eighty to one. I just thought that that the price drifted up enough where I had to take a little shot, the stoppage in play came at the worst time possible because this guy was. Playing like a top ten player in the world there weren't ten players in the world better than this guy. back in March when he won the Honda Classic came back next week off the deck with a third place finish at the Arnold Palmer, and then he started tan respectable tents on the restarted colonial. But his solid t degreed game really Kinda left because then you. missed. The cut at the heritage down in the fifties finishes for the travelers and the rocket mortgage sixty third at the work day misses the caught on the number at the memorial. So Forum does it really grasp day okay. This guy's ready to web but he took a needed week off and then I just think Christ drifted up enough in a short field where he could be a little bit of a mild surprise on that first page of the leaderboard come Sunday I just. GonNa buy on the dips here and I'm GonNa do say also with Paul Casey who had founded a hundred to one. This was the guy that I actually played early and knocking end up with the best of the number on Paul case because I thought he was going to start to play well this summer but I miss time did and he drifts up to a hundred to one this week and he's still work a look look I. Know He's missed back-to-back tossed but this is a guy when you look at the stats and All all the characteristics such woke up for you when you're evaluating. For, winners on a given week, top ten strokes deemed off the team nights on tour six, hundred strokes gained approach twelfth and Greens in Regulation number one and total driving in the total bribing stat. obviously takes driving distance plus driving.

"He was eight over on Thursday thirteen holes started out horribly triple and the car had a couple balls in the water but he Never gave up on the round the ended up finishing with a six over around but was able to come out on Friday make the cut on the number finished plus one for the tournament which doesn't look overly impressive in with a tie for thirteen finish. But if conditions we know we're pretty darn Ross for the memorial is very windy pains were placed. In very difficult locations especially on Sunday. But then they're shop way did rebound from from the top start. He read sealed at the Memorial and driving accuracy and Greens in regulation and going back to that no cost point you brought up look at his wings twenty Seventeen Tour Championship East Way got twenty eighteen HSBC in China twenty, nineteen, the tournament of champions. The. Opening event of the calendar year out of Sapolu in Hawaii, and then he was also in the playoffs last fall. Once again at that China, then I believe with a rory mcilroy and then earlier this year he was in the playoff with Justin Thomas who eventually won the event and Patrick Read. So he goes very well for some reason in these. Like no cut events shorter fields. Only, seventy eight players in the field this week by the way. Third on Tour Greens in regulation fourth par for performance, which is going to matter a little bit this week simply because it's the par seventy. Yeah. Ten fours eight host par fours are four, hundred, fifty yards or greater. So you gotta be you gotTa keep it in the fairway and you gotTa have good approach shots because these Greens are smaller than they usually are. So I'm. Going with the guy with good cheat green game and that's one of those things. I. Kinda. Saw when I hit on from a couple of weeks ago, find a small subtle by sign were rom didn't finish well at the work day but he shot sixty four on Sunday the thought. Okay. He's figured something out and that's kind of what I'm Bacon on with chocolate here. On May twenty two to one this week and I've already bad in several weeks ago twenty five to one for the PGA Actually on soft late to, and it's because of these WGC stroke played events over the last five calendar years every one of these events in one by like kind of an elite golf rights forty to one or lower and. In terms of odd and they all had no ranking in the top twenty except for Mickelson obscene Nicholson. So eventually like the elite of the elite ultimately wins these events. So they're usually a major winner Shaath was the only one since two thousand sixteen not to be passed major winner to win it. So you kind of need a guy I like payouts obviously. So that like next tier. Guy So I grabbed softly as well. Yeah. Absolutely. He told he totally I think it's the profile and that I've already got him for the PGA he was one of those guys I targeted before the beginning of the season they say, okay this is a Guy Jon Rahm Force order that list as well either guys that are going to break through and get their major sooner rather than later. Okay, and then any others that caught your eye. Yeah, he's the guy in in the mid thirty range and he's been a pretty elite player. He doesn't have a major yet, but he's been pretty elite player. This year that nobody really seems to talk about a lot and that's terrible Hatton from England who is ranked fourteenth in the world I've had some personal walk with that and because hit on last November at the Turkish Airlines. Open. dot home with him at the Arnold Palmer invitational earlier this year in Orlando but he is starting to take really joe, some good padded agree hasn't had a lot of Russ in in in the restart when the yeah Joel had to. Be readjusted do the pandemic but he's been very selective in the tournaments he's played was third at the RBC heritage down at head end was also four in Detroit at the rocket mortgage classics those are the only two events he's played so far in the last month and a half or so but he stopped work of a player that I think is really primed and focused for the bigger events like WGC's and like the majors and and you look he's on top head and Greens and regulations second strokes gained approach he's fifth and Strokes Game Green he's also very good for performance I mentioned I think he's This over on tour and he third in scrambling and I and strokes game putting and you gotta be able to scramble here this week because the Greens are so small that you're probably GonNa Miss. That means you're probably GonNa hit good shots and they're going to pounce and they're gonNA get in the fringe or maybe in the first half of rough just outside the green, you're going to have to be able to chip and catch and run a little bit and also Pod as well as you possibly can brooke cap go this event last year who I almost played may still ask for price didn't go back up. A Little Bit shot sixteen hundred, and winning this event last year he was first in the field and scrambling. So trembling really matters here. This is not a pitch and Putt type he pc course not just like the TV she course we saw last week at the twin cities. This is a little bit more difficult fairways a little more narrow green a lot smaller about forty five, hundred square feet on average. So General Hatton was one that I think really stood out to me I. Just I can't go against the forum he's got as good a form is anybody rob Rahman. The SHAMBO obviously get the hype and Thomas and a lot of the other guys they're in.

"Maybe. Into the game you kind of your money that's how you find. It was bad call my pets were safe which wouldn't be juice. Point spreads the prophets, the teasers. The parlays. From Vegas to you. This is behind the bat slow. To another episode of behind the vets does his area presented by grasping saliva sort through but we are not doing Mba I know everyone's Jones e. four been have I'm the scheduled the end, the League and there's a lot of moving arts. So. I'm saying sort of like the preview of you will or when the playoffs get gongs, it'll be a little bit of a lag will do the NBA and we'll get ready to fire but I did write a column that posted on Espn Chock saying this year more than any other year in the seventy three year history of the NBA I think underdogs Abba chance of ultimately winning it. All now underdogs having the past you're looking at thirty one of the last thirty six. Champs. Have come as a one or a two seat. This sport is we know is just Chalk Chock Chock the best of seven format obscene versus thing elimination Mark Anderson other sports I just think it is the volume of possessions. We all know this more predictable than others however neutral court and gives me home courts neutral court, and then just a corona variable, the unknown. So lots of reasons I think you know expect the unexpected so to speak but with all that. Being said like, I, wrote my piece. It could just mean it's a little bit more difficult than favorites rather than actual upsets occurring but it's fascinating that the bucks are favored more now than they were in March when people were so many vs through their own courts reminded two thirty in the East, it were to twenty in the East in March now at the do it on a home-court everyone well rested. So fascinating to see how it all plays out much more NBA. This we're talking golf and we're talking UFC we have allowed these midweek odds throughout the summer. So West Reynolds going to break down the WGC event coming up, and then we have another UFC card this one stateside with Matthew. I'm in a little bit, but I WanNa, remind you basketball's finally making his return to television. Make sure you're keeping up with all the news inside and outside the NBA bubble with Adrian words and. Odd. Loaded subscribe woes is ball's behind the best zero on apple. Pie or wherever you get your podcasts stop. Hammer time. All right. You know I'm shocked when he doesn't pick the winner at tournament shame on US Reynolds. Yeah from the Penthouse to the outhouse. That's how can go and betting especially in golf getting a winner, the war, and then have now all the guys missed the cut the week following. So that happens from time to time. So get back on the horse and ride again this week I like I like it well said, now we got the PGA looming a week in advance. How much does that factor into your handicapping if at all? Not a ton because for predominantly most of the high end players are here this week in Memphis with the exception Tiger Woods takeout skipping the event Adam Scott hasn't played since. The Star. Justin Rose Lee Westwood just a a few players not going to play this week but you pretty much got a lot of the field that you had in most of these events. So look at a WGC events. So usually more often than not it's going to be a class player that doesn't mean some longer odd is with some pedigree can win but more often than not you're going to see a good player when this type tournament. Okay. So how are you approaching this tournament is obviously it's a different format. Yeah Just looking at previous years I know This is interesting because there's only been. Now this will be the second WGC events that saying Jude but they did have the Fedex St Jude Classic in Memphis I'm not being overly reliant on the course for simply because it's a different type of event. that. Fedex St, Jude Classic 'cause I know there's been some cases made obviously for Daniel, Berger and for Dustin Johnson, both multiple time winners here at this event. But that set at Jude classic used to be like the first week of June first or second week a week or two out from the US Open in early. June now it's in late July first week of August going into the weekend and I don't know if you've been down in Memphis Tennessee in late July or August in the summertime, it gets pretty on thicky down there and so the conditions are going to be a little bit different. So it's hard to evaluate in handicap players, fitness and whatnot, but some guys. That he's easier on them and some guys he's harder on him but I didn't get to knee deep in the weeds in terms of doing that. So but I didn't overly. On the force form that normally you would when the event is played kind of in the same time of year. Okay, you're good handicap. Their anything else stand out these non cut events. Could you repeat that I'm sorry I say I said interesting handicap anything else stand out with these non cut events. Yeah. Well, one of the guys that I played this week actually he plays very well in these non cut ice than the fact that four of his five PGA tour and European tour wins because there was one winning ad that counted for both at A. WGC event in China and the guy that really stood out to me was Andrew Play and twenty two to one and he was my first quay on the card the first one I debt and he started out strong at colonial and the restart back in June third place finish he actually probably should have won the of any myths that that short putt on seventeen on Sunday. With ended up, costing them victory so You know maybe that takes a couple of times to get over and I had a few weeks to get over when you let one slip away like that, and then you'll recall a couple of weeks.

A Developer's Summer, with Underscore David Smith

"Hello everyone this is David sparks joined by my fellow co-hosts Mr. Stephen Hackett I Stephen Hey David. How are you good I feel like this week is kind of putting the capper on our W. WDC coverage. Finished up last week, we were able to talk about quite a bit during the during ww see, and then we talked about our Betas last week this week. We thought we bring in somebody who has a unique and interesting perspective on it. Welcome back to the show David Smith. You it's A. It's a pleasure to be here I mean I was? It's an honor to be on power users so I'm glad to be able to kind of come in gas lend a developer perspective to all the announcements that we just had. Thinking that you'd be the perfect guest for it by pay, we just had him on and then I looked twenty seventeen, so. I don't know what happened there in my head, but The you know David you were telling me before the show started. How many wwe cs have you participated in a believe? This is number twelve for me and my first one is in two thousand and nine, and I've been essentially attended in some form ever ever since so it's been like this regular fixture in my family that as far as like in which. That's longer than my children have. Our old, so like from their perspective, daddy always disappears for a week in June like that's just a part of a part of life that I'm sure they expect happens to every father in the world. They just June is when they go to California, but that's. It was a very unusual year to just actually just stay at home and be here, but sort of not here. kind of station in the basement to a just a after shift myself to California time, and then also just there's so much to do. But generally speaking, it was definitely a different year than all the others that I've had the privilege of experiencing. As, someone who's been W. DC with you? I think we one year we stay together and the relay Commun-. The but I feel like you are somebody that really always. My observation takes advantage of WBZ. You're always hustling to get to meetings and and get the content and I feel like you are in my mind for lack of a better term, a lunch pail developer just show up and you get the work done, and I've always appreciate that about you. So, let's talk, you know. You watched it from home this year I guess That was that. It was different I. Mean on the one hand. It was kind of Nice to be able to like my wife set next to me on the Sofa and we questioned on our TV, and it was. It was kind of Nice to share that with her. Because while we sometimes, we'll do that for things like phone announcements, or you know other apple events throughout the year when I'm not in California You know she's heard me talk about WDC many times and WC announcements are the ones that I like kind of lose my mind and be super excited, and like it's in a way that is unusual that it's not. As to you know with an iphone announcement because a cool new camera that's kind of clear and accessible, but like I'm losing my mind over some minor thing that they just mentioned and she has no idea and it was kind of a fun thing. I think for us to be to share that But it was definitely a bit odd to. Then just like just like. I watched the Hino, and then I go and sit at my at my regular, my regular office and I can download all the Betas, and like get started right away rather than like frantically trying to eat like an awful box lunch in between the keynote in the state of the Union and then like sometime later somehow try and get the. Betas installed over Chino potentially and not so reliable Wi fi, and so like it was definitely a very different Monday for WGC than I'm used to though I kind of liked it like it was kind of Nice I felt like I was super productive like in a very intense way which? Definitely took the weekend to recover from, but it was. It was different, but in a good way I, think is the best summary for how serve the General Rafeal if WGC was for me. The general take wagon talking to developer friends. It's like it was a more more is week easier to get information easier to manage Betas and find out what exactly what's going on. You're not kind of in the thick of it. But it was less useful of direct access to apple engineers. Maybe I'd say from my experience like they had labs this year. Which is alive that typically WGC they have these big sessions where apple engineers are available to attendees who go into, ask your questions, which is the one time of year typically where you're able to interact with an apple engineer, because typically they're locked. Locked away in Cupertino and can talk about anything related to what they're working on, but this one week they get let out in are allowed to do that. And I was very curious to see what they did for. The labs experience this year and worked well like I think I attended five or six lives, and they were just kind of like voice. Conference calls I could share I could share my screen to to the call if I had some code I needed to show them or something. I wanted them to kind of look at and by and large. That process was actually very efficient, and from the kind of likes to the way they structured. It is I mean they were available to anyone who had a pay developer account so I. Don't Know How many people that is in the world, but it is almost certainly. Probably millions if not. Like tens of millions and it was just kind of you signed up. You submitted a question, and they had of reviewed them the day before and assigned to a lab based on as like, do you? Did you actually see Mike? You had a reason a question. That's useful and. Effective to answer, and it was to the asking esque, the right lab, or the right place and feuded, both those things like I was able to get my labs, and got my questions answered, and so that was actually kind of cool. I think only part. I missed was really like. You're talking about the sexting at the the relay commune. Having that kind of that sense of community and being around other people. Like the idea. Of being on site in San Jose was something that I certainly missed this year, and that's a tricky thing to quantify 'cause i. think in most other ways. The Co like the conference was better for being virtual like the session videos were better, and they were more accessible in the sense that they are available immediately to everybody they all have full transcripts that are searchable and so are accessible, just both from an ex. A accessibility perspective of perse people for people for whom listening to video is difficult. They have the transcript immediately available, and they can do. Watch close captioning as Equally accessible to everybody irrespective, if you have the means and the resources and the ability to go to saint, say or not you just if you have an Internet connection, you have exactly the same connection, and then like all the content was super polished

Backporting

"Today's topic We're GONNA dive into a little bit of talking about back boarding Which generally is the concept of taking a particular feature or functionality in a current version typically of operating system or Nasty K- and creating that same capability in a previous or older version of this and so this is a a technique or something. You often find yourself having to do if you WANNA present a common use of user experience across different versions of platform but without piped in a way that is good for the user potentially complicated and annoying for you as a developer because rather than just degrading the experience as you go backwards in sort of age rather than I was thirteen twelve. There's a new feature niwas thirteen that you want to take advantage of you back port that into Iowa twelve by essentially recreating either. He's made subset of the functionality or a full version of the functionality. And you're kind of taking on the responsibility that the platform vendor typically would take on me by doing this so it's a tricky thing to do necessarily want do but every now and then is something that I found to be useful and essential In many ways and recently I ran into this kind of where I've kind of in my mind I'm preemptively back porting some features because as we're recording were about a month away from WGC and so in about a month we'll probably get a whole news Set of functionalities of capabilities on all the various platforms and for me specifically am expecting watch. Os Seven is going to include a you know whatever serves swift Ui version two is and likely going to include a lot of new functionalities new controls things that are kind of either missing or awkward to do currently and so. I expect that to come. But in the meantime is kind of this awkward thing of do. I want to hold off on adding features taking building my own personal controls and capabilities into the APP waiting to see what they're going to do and specifically I ran into a situation where I'm going to do a lot of mapping in watch Smith and this kind of mapping is something that is just not. There's no built in controls for this on IOS. You have map kit and even using sift y you could use map kit by wrapping it Kind of interrupt. There's you know you can wraps with you. Iq IQ controls in swift controls. You'll end up with something that is pretty reasonable But Macho S. There is no map kit. So if I want to do this to build it entirely myself And I was going down the path of like dry one. Start this project knowing that you know. Watch a seven me introduce map control like a map control force fifty. Y on watch and it'll be great in the end. I kind of sort of went on the well. Then that would only be useful to me if I had. I was able to require watch. Os seven like right away. And if I could then maybe that would be useful waiting for then. This would just be a feature that push off until September but as it is I was like A. I don't necessarily when we timber for this. I want to get it out sooner than that and then be was the reality that I feel like. We're entering this awkward period with the all of the surviving systems and platforms. Generally where we're going to have a much higher degree of sort of backwards compatibility for awhile like I feel like we've talked about. It May Times that I sort of twelve. Seems like it's going to be lingering for a long time At least an inch away that we need to be relevant and sort of keep support for and kind of feeling that watch. Os six kind of feels like it might be the same thing I wouldn't be surprised if we lose. be dropped support for this series one in two watches the FAUCI West Seven. And if that's the case then six might become kind of the new baseline that everything has to hold onto because while the one in the series went into watches aren't a dramatic to the proportion of the user base. I think it's going to be a similar story. I always twelve where it's enough that People are GonNa want to keep using those watches for a long time and so I was like well. I guess that means that I'm going to have to build this myself. Which is which is an interesting engineering challenge. But and then this funny expectation that I might be preemptively back. Porting this functionality. That sort of in watchos seven. I may completely not use this. This my version of mapping but in In whenever it anytime I in watch. Os Six land. I have to use my version of mapping and so it was just kind of interesting thing where you have these weird parallel experiences. Because I don't WanNa do necessarily is go down the path where like features just disappear when you're on one platform or another because that's as a giant support headache. Where like in the screen shot. I see this feature. Why can't I see this feature? And that's a nightmare. And so I tend to try and backboard as much as I can but the technical implementation of that is certainly not straightforward. Yeah and I think it is worth. You know. Very quickly revisiting. Why is important? You touched on these. Old Os is are sticking around. Long are longer than they used to. You know back when the platform young are the is would would move pretty quickly. People are updated pretty quickly. It was a more enthusiast base for many of our APPS and devices being replaced more often so the having to keep around an old device for a long time. was less of a concern back in the days of faster update cycles younger platforms. Much more carrier subsidizing the phone prices so pretty much. Everybody updated every two years because it made no sense not to So there you know there was all that going on and in in the modern era we have devices the stick around for a much longer time we have a much larger market which is good but in the sense that now though there's a lot more of the market that's more conservative or unable to upgrade their device very quickly and so we have you know if we want to capture decent market share or or you know we don't dawn just leave money on the table. We do have to support older os as for longer than we used to. You know my my advice for years was indies. Should never support anything anything before the current version. Because we don't have time we might as well. You know us all newest modern stuff to our advantage and just leave people who don't update in the dust and that's just become harder and harder in recent years you know. I went through the same thing myself. Where last fall overcast? I immediately required a IOS. Thirteen Within I think two weeks of being released something like that within a short time and that bit me really hard and I angered a lot of people and I had to eventually go back and re add support for Iowa's twelve And I also had acquired watch. Os Six same problem. So I had to go back and re answer for US five And I stand by those as being the right decisions like I I. I'm glad I went back and out of the support Because I needed it and now as we approached the new Os season it certainly raises the question of well. Do I move forward this year do do I this fall? Do I require Iowa's thirteen and and keep it just like one version back like that and do I require watch? Os Six And you know it. It is a really tricky thing because so often we will get awesome new. Api's that we will use. The good thing is that we are not the only like me. And Dave and you are soul theoretical listener out there. We are not the only people who are facing this problem. We're not we're not making the only apps out there where the developers want us new features but they can't for whatever reason dropped support for the US quite yet and so other people face this problem in mass and they make solutions to help with us and you know. I'm not a huge fan of using a bunch of third party code in my APP but this is one area where third party code can actually help almost always almost every year. Whatever like you know significant new. Api's are added to irs. There's usually within a couple of months a third party library that brings similar or identical functionality to the previous version of

"If I bomb I know it will just bury me into a hole and I'll go back to caddying most likely. Oh see I still sneak on stage man. This is like my. It's my safe-space that's my therapy. You're you're mentally. I hope that I don't know about that. I just I sneak on stage. The beautiful thing is you've found something where you can do where people want you to let loose. And especially in golf now sub. I would love to have you if you remember Patrick. Read at the hero in the bunker. How would you have called that with me at the when I dropped the beer? Can you remember? Yes yes well. Actually I had a funny thing when I first went to my first golf event. I don't know if this is what you're talking about. But I did screw up by mistake I was I had to aluminum. What life bottles in my hands and Patrick Reed was like right next to me and I just I. It was my first time ever go to golf event. And he was writing his back swing and I didn't do it on purpose. I just fumbled the aluminum cans out of my hands. Right his backswing it was like playing Kling Kling Kling Rightness backswing and he actually thank God a good shot but I got stared down at and It wasn't it wasn't fun and then I think his wife was there with them and kind of gave me the deaths there too and I I just kind of panicked. Yeah well if you were going to do a call on Patrick. Read moving sand in the bunker at the hero. How would you do it? Give that one to me. Well you can see Patrick read here. standing over his shots God. He's gained a little bit of weight lately as you can see his gut hanging off the side of his belt line. Let's be honest. He looks pretty disgusting. Wait a minute did he. Just move a little sand here. Peter he might WanNa just give this guy a shovel. I don't know I make this stuff up as I go. I have no idea I'd even paid my zone. Michael I know I need to be cocktails. Deeper do this well. That's the other thing that's what I was GONNA ask. I was GONNA ask when you sat down and you started doing all the highlight stuff and doing like fake calls. Did you have a script? How many times would you watch a highlight and then go through it and be like okay? I got it I got here we go. What was the process? It used it a pet on how drunk I was. If I was tipsy I would just do one take and not give a crap series but yeah yeah normally. It takes like three or four times. I don't really write anything just as you can tell. Because it's not that materials just going downhill But you know I don't usually write a lot of stuff. I just kind of go in and improvident do whatever comes to my head and if it takes too long to do. I just put the clip away and don't do it because I just my head will explode but You know I'm trying to get more structured and trying to make you know like we just did the David Spade show lights out on comedy central and I do sports update at the end of the show. And it's amazing. What these writers do. They're like Bob come in here and You know kind of do what you do and I'm like I don't know if you really want that. They wrote all this stuff for me. And it's so much better when you actually have writers so I am going to be implementing writers into my sets. I guess you could call it of all the clips that you've done. What's your favorite one? My favorite one was the time the Joe Flacco took the snap. Roll to the right side. There was running room and he gets popped by Kiko Alonzo and his head falls off or looks like his head falls off and Then you cut over to Harbaugh and I think I referenced Kiko Alonzo. Looking like a Marine fighter pilot or something dumb. That was my favorite one. When Joe FLACCO head fell off Ed's.

"Now on the tea caddy. Here's Matt Berry and Michael College so here we are another edition of Mattie and caddy looking forward to today's program as said at the beginning Bob Memory caddy was able to get with him yesterday and or Tuesday. Rather you don't know what yesterday means whatever day you are listening to this so the stuff is fantastic. Look forward to hearing that a caddy so much to get to today. And here's where I'd like to begin because we touched on it last week quite a bit and I believe this is. Why Gulf can't quit Patrick Reed and neither can we because this fundamental question about this too because the second you think that you're gonNA get under his skin and he's going to become a controversial lightning rod. He goes out and wins. Wgc Mexico in my opinion is becoming one of the great tournaments engulf because of the elevation. And the course. I was thoroughly entertained all week. Wdc Mexico even though start with hit here right. Genesis had a stronger field nine of the top ten players in the world. Play Genesis right for two top ten players at a world skip the WG see how. How's the schedule working out? They convince schedule. You love. It doesn't matter it does melt or does matter because listen if the most important events for the PGA tour the WGC's and your best players are skipping them to play a regular PGA tour event even know the genesis has elevated status. You're talking about guys who would rather play a tournament that has a cut cut then to go play a no cut free money. All the world ranking points. That apparently was not as important to some guys as the going to play the genesis where you weren't even guaranteed the weekend who's payroll are you on. I'm on I'm on honesty payroll payroll. I'm on like I'm not. I'm not going to sugar coat things I'm not going to blow sunshine and rainbows up people's behind just because it feels good and sound like Jerry. People they were. Here's really wrong here. But I'm not how I was wrong. Then W would have a stronger field. Okay did you look at the leaderboard? I didn't say the leaderboard was an Hatrick. Read Bryce into Shambo. Jon Rahm at your three worry mcelroy. Decky and Justin Thomas Right so what Gary Woodland Major Zander Shop. What does it? What? What's your point. My my point is I'm just saying it's Kinda strange. How more guys in the top ten played in Genesis then played in the WGC? Why is that because it's a WDC? That's why strange you would think if the top ten players in world we're all. GonNa get together isn't that what the WGC's were designed for? But did you get a half the left this new schedule narrative go because the new schedule is it new anymore? And it's not going anywhere. I tried out a WGC. That's got that type of leaderboard. They don't care they don't care I feel you. I just think there's some irony there and I still think like this is still new because guys are still working their schedule out which we are now seeing so yes. It's still new because it's what is the third year maybe with the new wraparound schedule. Like how many events are there now or their apparat schedule? The rapper schedules stupid. I'm talking about the schedule. That was implemented last year removed the players to March. And we'd we made some adjustments and where tournaments are slated wrap arounds gonna be stupid forever said we'll we`ll? We'll feel the way that we feel about the schedule and the wgn Patrick thing I said it before and I'll say it again. People still haven't learned they haven't learned that as soon as you start. Open your mouth and running it throwing shade at Patrick Read. It makes him play better. We learned this from like no one. Everyone forgets history. This is what I can't understand people through say to him so it all goes down Saturday at the hero. Golden Sand Castles. Do want so you think what it's done. He got no chance. Nah The next day she'd sixty six now. What happens when we go to Maui Century? Tournament of champions Patrick read everybody talking about. Here is the controversy. First Time we're going here seeing blah. It's going to be crazy. This dude almost wins finishes T to. This is what people yelling at him. The whole time that people people learn then no get to the genesis. Everybody's still talking smack here. We here comes Peter. Kostis here comes brooks kept. And what does he do? What does Patrick Redo win? I don't know maybe if you're a patch agreed hater and you really don't want to succeed due to Carlos Correa and shut the saying front door. I don't understand here's my and this is what makes him on. This is what makes him great. This I love agree because I love the fact he embraces being that guy. Well Yeah I love it. When they didn't embrace it Brooks Brooks kept gum braces. It through Patrick. Reed doesn't like it. He just shows up in wins when it happened like bit. Patrick Reed would just as soon. Just give everyone the bird. I mean he would just rather just flip everybody off. He doesn't like being criticized critique but he does the talking when with his play which is fine which is what Brooks does but Brooks legitimately embraces being the guy that's GonNa say things other people won't and then fires back at them verbally and this play read is the villain by his own doing an action and backed up in moments where he needs to most remember at Augusta when people were all over him and the family stuff came up and all the the past experiences that we in college in that area cheating and again he goes out wins the green jacket. There's just who he is any embraces it but we don't know if if if Brooks Kepco had to deal with what Patrick Reid is having to deal with I don't think provide up. Good comes through saying I don't think you could compare the two I just because Brooks I thought you were saying that Brooks embraces like being the I don't give him he while and Patrick. Patrick doesn't like the fact that he's not liked. Here's how but here's here's how about you. GotTa you gotTa look the difference. Between the two Patrick's problems have come from. On course behavior yes brooks is embracing. The villain comes from press conferences. Where he says. I've got like five people to be completely different. I I completely agree with that. But he and I have a fundamental question of what went down because people are disagreeing with the context of everything that Peter Kostis said. And I have a fundamental question for you. Okay because I called it a cop out when someone uses this. Excuse so Peter. Coss this no longer works for CBS. Let go yeah. Didn't get brought back now. He said on the podcast that he was on no laying. Up that he has personally witnessed. Patrick read do something improve the lion. Four four separate time. Yeah he's seen it four separate times and he said that the reason that he didn't say anything other than the one time he said something on the air that made Gary mccord speech. Listen couldn't say anything for a minute. He said the reason. He didn't say anything to a rules official or tournament for doing it was because in his words on the podcast. He doesn't WanNa be this story. His job is not to become the story just to reported. I say that is bull. And that's a cop out because as a person that is. They're not only covering the tournament but watching the tournament. Everyone's job including the people that are playing the plane. Competitors is to protect the field. So if you see someone have a rules violation and you don't reported at the time but then years later or once you don't have the job now. You're going to start saying I seen this and this do did that. Like Nah Bra. Sorry you know what the fundamental question. The fundamental question is is data legit in your opinion. 'cause this is just in my opinion. That's not legit in this situation. It's not a legit excuse in your opinion if you are there covering a tournament and you see someone. Break a rule not hop the gated to report that. Here's how I would handle it. He'd I will tell you that that costas is right and wrong. He's right in that he as as anchor as an anchor of sportscenter as a as a someone who fronts program it is best for me to be the stagehand and not the star of the play. Okay let me finish. Let me go to be the stage. And not the star if Kostas goes and reports this then he becomes the guy that ratted out. Patrick read. That's heart one. So He's right about that where he's wrong is if as a steward of the game covering the sport. I would if I were the field reporter the Dottie Pepper Peter. Kostis the David Ferte. I would tell the truck guys. I just saw Patrick and prove his lie. If you have a camera shot I would show it. And then they do with. It is up to the broadcast in the rules. Official but cost is not a rules official. He's an encore reporter. His job is to report when he sees so. Let me ask you this if you're a journalist year reporter and you see a crime committed and you don't report seeing that crime and your excuse is well. I don't want to be part of the story. That's not being a rat. You know what you are. You're an accessory to a crime God by not reporting it night. That is not becoming part of your right. That's the word. The operative word you used there that is correct is reporting it like it is his job to say okay again. You tell the producer in the production truck guys. I just saw Patrick. Tweak is ball move is ball role as ball improve his lie. If we have a camera or you can go. Show it rolls official. No no no no no. His job is not to go to the rules official. It's absolutely not his job is to tell the TV truck what he saw in report. What he saw is job is not to report to a rules official. What he saw. That's where we disagree. He is not out there to do. He's not he's not out there to do that. He's out there to report is out there to do that. No one is out there to go get a police officer when you see a crime committed like you're not just out there to be Johnny on the spot cop. Well he's out there. Speaking about comparing crimes and Patrick reads liberties on the Gulf of Maine. Of course it's two different things but this is the example that we have because in this year saying Kosta should go to a rules official. I'm just saying that you have to you have to report it to someone yeah the TV truck. Like I said and then you do it on the broadcast and then whatever happens because of the broadcast is what happens but if you don't do it at all then what then you get to take liberty with it later on. I'm never a big yes. I never a big fan of after the fact guy after the fact approach well a decade ago and I I just now. It was wrong decade ago. Yeah you didn't say ten years ago you say something now that you don't have a job like come on man like don't I don't WanNa hear that I don't WanNa hear about like. Oh five years ago so and so got me in this like. Nah and that's not in our sport that is not becoming part of the.

"Like. I gotta at least if you don't want to hear about the Gasparilla or free free to sign it. No I'm sorry I didn't know that I have on here. I played in. I'm GONNA take find us at Joe Glasgow come on Yeah Thought a real golf tournament. This the Gasparilla Gopher Edgy. Wow you're you're gonNA throw the talent and the depth of talent. I should say this is an invitatinal. I got invited. To play the GASPARILLA PALM AC- a country club in Tampa and it was incredibly incredibly fun enlightening it was I got to. I never knew what the cocktail tour looked like. I never knew if it was an official tour. I didn't know what it was. I feel like I kind of got a very good glimpse into it. Played some pretty good golf. I missed the cut by one. It hurt It's done pretty bad. I fought my hardest. I pretty proud of the way I played But yeah it was. It was a fantastic wonderful wonderful experience and I would love to do it again and I would ask. He says he said on the on the tax threat that a guy said to you the night before over cocktails over beers it was a wonderful man. Wonderful Gentleman. He said don't break as much as they look out here. And after playing a couple of practice rounds you. You've listened to him well so I advice as Gospel and you apply that all your plots and well. So the golf course is sixty three hundred yards. It is in some spots. Twelve Yard wide fairways. It is a tight little place. It's a cool Donald. Ross course and the it's similar to similar to Augusta in terms. The the golf course is only like the gasparilla during the Gasparilla so the practice round beforehand you hit. They're like do not fall in love with the Greens. Do Not Fall in love them. I don't practice on the putting green tonight because you are going to see a different golf course tomorrow and so. I've practiced on them and I honestly missed every putting the pressure on. This is great. I'm going to be great for tomorrow. And they cut and roll the Greens and then they cut in. Roll them in between shotgun starts. It is shadow to lend Matiz baked out like fast green setup that I have not practiced on. I don't know where I could practice. That I've not can't simulate tournament nerves standing over a Putt on Glassy Greens. I just that was my downfall. I had A four on Friday. That just like her. I had a five hundred from above a whole that Iran twelve by US couldn't it was like I make? I'm making this or it's going way past and I missed it and so yeah that first day I miss. I'm thinking I'm seeing over a six foot birdie. Putt and I'm like I'm I don't WanNa leave the whole with this thinking that I could put your break that much and I missed like all three of them on the laws which ties not his fault. Of course I probably I probably puts more than anything but I missed. So many short eyeshot seventy one seventy nine and I mo- regrets about the seventy one because the conditions were perfect that day and the seventy nine on Friday was just like holding on for I mean Matt who is an unbelievable player he made the cut at the US Open. He shot seventy eight on Friday in which players great player in his own right and so I felt like my throw him under the bus for what he shot but Some dude also shot sixty five that day so obviously it was possible but that same guide he turned. I think On Saturday with nine shot lead and shot forty seven over on the back. One by three like the course had so much bite. It was only a matter of time before like Chit just like stopped going. Your way dishes are tough. I will busby was. I didn't realize that he's a part of the HP stable. Is He really yeah? He is the top ranked player in the field and he won. Congratulations was daresay Louisiana. Yeah There was two players who finished under par on sixty three hundred yard. Par Seventy course with reachable. Par Fives and some dryable fours is unbelievable tournament and golf course. I thought it sounds like of course I would hate playing and sound like a style that I would hate playing. It is so engaging so fun in a awesome test it was very much like that. Glassy on the Greens is a test of your skill. It's a K. Can you like Dia five footer? In an I cannot. I learned that I it's just disappointing to miss the cut because I felt like I battled so hard on that on the Friday. Round I liberty on my sixteenth hole. I birdied my seventeenth and almost birdie my eighteen. Th I knew I needed to get to nine and I almost did it and especially for somebody who's not a motor. I'm not not much of a motor. I played like so what success I four grind. Es Parts Start that day. It's fifty degrees fifty five degrees wind blowing fifteen twenty crosswinds. I part my first four holes and I hit the green With two great shots into the eleventh.

"Know man. Sorry I will say like listening to this guy talk a because he he was basically like all this started as just like an idea napkin right and he said you know. Taking the thirty to fifty to seventy year view which I don't know if that's necessarily too long gone days some of this stuff like the tour takes an eighteen to thirty six month view of You. Look at like all right. Cool Howard Tour. Exacts bonus their bonus based on starts total starts total purse an element other bonus. Yep Yeah and so. That's why the wraparound season exists. That's why thank you should that exist like based on. How schedule is shaping out in a lot of the changes that have been made. It's I think I think the tore his gray point. Was if you started golf right now. We said this to you. Wouldn't like it does currently give you were to start a league now. Wouldn't look like this totally and you look at all right so going back to this week Friday afternoon you'll get WDC Mexico's one of the tourist premier events right. I mean it's a elevated WDC event worldwide field limited field it's got this level of prestige attached to it weather that translates to viewers or not is a different question in the midst of that instead of the thirty six hole lead a lot of the headlines. Were about how weak the field is going to be at. Honda this week And then. I'm sure I'm sure it's going to be the same thing at Arnold Palmer. Mutational the following week like there's and then basically all the new schedule has done is is diminished. The importance of anything else except for the majors and I will say it's it's probably elevated players which you know wasn't goal there's too many good consecutive events. I would consider like most of these events in a row pretty damn good events a great event it's I can't fill was GONNA skip this no matter what because he's just play the glass you can't play them all and you got to skip some tough ask events and then you get to the summer and it's like so the tours got forty two or forty four events on his schedule and there's an and I mean honestly how how many of those matter I mean. Well that's the problem is like in terms of the Fedex Cup like all matter like equally. And so you have this this thing. I said to you earlier. Where it's like you're like the seventies Sitcom character trying to juggle two days at the same restaurant where you're like trying to keep one happy for a second and that was like the Hondas and Sony's and tournaments like that you know five ten years ago where it's like all right we're going to implement this wraparound season the Fedex Cup we're gonNA elevate all these events were going to do all these things to make sure all these okay you guys are all taking care of you'll feel good okay. Cool Genesis Bay Hill like okay. You guys are not happy cool. You're elevated status now. Wgc's are your elevated even more like and it's just Akmal it is and it's like man. How can you like what the fuck you gonNA turn around okay? Zirk guys aren't happy Your team event. Okay over here. You guys aren't happy Okay we'll do. The players have to play tournament once every five years thing. All right what else who else. Who Else pissed off like I get. That's just like how things work but like man. I don't know how many more times like you said I don't have any more time. You Kinda wack them all but so. I think from an economics perspective. His big point was head at the end of the day the biggest metric marriages. How many people were watching golf right and so to me? A lot of you know. I'm not saying this out of support. I'm just saying 'cause I'm intrigued by it is he. It seems like this guy's coming at it from the perspective of. Hey if we can get more people to watch golf that's GONNA be like it comes down to the economic on street money like more money in the door and it seems like money over bitches has has has gone the other way and said you know what we're GonNa care so much about our sponsors and all this that we're going to we're going to cut off the fans we're GonNa Bleed out basically let me ask you this in the. Let me channel. My my associate my colleague sway in a yes or no tough questions. Only we just moved absolately flame thrower. D- anybody who Was playing the. Saudi event a couple weeks months ago whenever that was this entire thing seems to be prompted by the Saudis and Softbank Does that matter is this apples and oranges It does I think that's why that was the one thing I was like listening to this whole thing. If you went out and said hey I found other money from somewhere else from somewhere else. I think it would be a lot more powerful. I totally couldn't agree more. Yeah yeah it doesn't it. Just it still feels kind of gross. I I just don't I don't necessarily tune in to watch golf terms just to watch the best player in the world. I think either there's still like WGC's or not the most entertaining Mexico's usually tend to be. But I just think there's more to to golf and maybe it's because I'm obviously air on the hardcore fan but You know I would have loved as seen Van Ruin when today because I think that would have been interesting. Fans wouldn't say that but if you gave me a choice between Washington Puerto Rico open and watching the WG or the HSBC. W I would choose. Puerto Rico shirt ten times out of ten for sure so I agree with you that there's not like we can't just have the same conversation every weekend but I do think there were some developments and it should be. This should be the biggest story. In Golf there is a chance that the PGA tour basically evaporates. Which is oh. I think that's I don't think it's going away like I think it's not going to be like it would be used. Who's playing the wgn? If the top fifty leave who's playing? Wdc Mexico where he watching. It is that we're leading with you. Maybe maybe that's the new Puerto Rico. Yeah I mean maybe you'd get more starts all those all those all the woke golf boys. We WATCH ALL THOSE JAPAN. Golf tour guys that are on. The bottom of leave are still plan. Sure they might be. But I the more I think about it the more I could see this being. You know like you said drama. Get a template for someone else to come in and say like okay cool. This is a really good idea. Now we've got some much less stigmatized money to put on it all right. We're an hour and a half in Pretty close to rabbi rains. Ready for bed you're GONNA love the next segment you can leave. Another say can lead if you.

Inside the Field: WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play

"So another golf tournament is in the book southbound championship Paul Casey your winter. We are now on the world golf championship. Dell technologies match-play event of what you and I have both been I'd say critical of just the format. I think the round Robin of the next three days is a complete waste of time. And they're trying to change it to include thirty two guys and the player said, nah. Let's here's something. I've gotta say about vow Spar last week. All right. The winning score was eight under par. Innisbrook Copperhead course, does not get enough credit for how awesome it is. Well, yes, and no, I think it got a little bit of do last year. Because Tigers in it. So everybody was watching it. So people that weren't familiar with the snake pit and everything goes on. You're like, oh, that's a decent little track. But yes by large. I would say you're correct. Yes. Because that golf course again is a golf course that is not huge. Now. It's not a big giant, golf, makers course, exactly. And you throw a live just a little bit of wind in there. It's not like it was blowing. Like it does at the Honda where blows thirty miles an hour. And guys just hate that golf course. This is a golf course. That guy's really like 'cause it forces you to hit golf shots, and I'll tell you you watching Paul Casey. There's a reason that guy is always in contention at the masters. Funny that you say that because there were plenty of guys Jason day who said that they were playing in his Brooke because it reminds them the most of agus, correct? So now, it just reminds them of Augusta has not even close to the speed, no or the length or even the width of Augusta. But the shot making that you have to hit their and surprising enough for Florida. Some of the elevations changes are similar. Yeah. And so in that's that's the beauty. That course in that tournament. That's why always when I'm in one of these pick 'em leagues. There's a, you know daily fantasy when you look at some of these guys for the masters, Paul Casey, no matter, what is one of my guys because the value you get outta him. But at the second shot course Innisbrook set can shot course, Augusta's a second. Shot. Course your drive is. Here's the thing about saying. It's a second shot course though Augusta. Yes. Because so I did a thing. I was asking guys. So I got seven seven guys or eight guys. And I asked them, you know, for here's your holes. Here's your holes. Here's your host. Give me the most important was the key to this whole and not one dude was like what you have to be on this side. And every guy started with you have to hit the fairway you have to hit the fairway, and I thought to myself as long as we've been hearing about how much of a second shot. Golf course Augusta is because of where you have to hit the green every guy that I spoke to which were all masters champions, every single one of them every single masters champion said the same thing you have to hit the fairway you do. But if you have any chance like you're not gonna accidents birdie a hole in Augusta, and it's not going to happen. Your second shot of where you land it because those gray. Raines I'd say maybe the eighteen holes two of them have greens where there's flat areas. Maybe. Yeah. So you have zero chance of scoring at. That course, if you don't land your second shot in the right area of the green to put yourself in a position to make the putt now Augusta's not hard to hit. If you don't hit the fairway at Augusta. You're not screwed. It's not accept on fifteen yet as one whole day. That's right fifteen. You gotta hit the right, so yeah. Because in your popping it out for to your punching up for three you're laying. You're you're giving away scoring hole or not doesn't really matter on them.

"It's like maybe used to be. Yeah. And he just you know, he's he's in another big spot on the biggest worry staunchest ROY defender there is and he he didn't do anything today. I mean, except for trying to get a really really cavalier drop he shot he bogeyed the last hole shoot thirty one on the back. I wouldn't. I definitely would not say didn't do anything to that. But he was what one under two hundred for the day four under on the day. Okay. Listen. Here come the most prepared delta, delta loss. TC's notebook the flight over listen to this stretch from November third twenty fifteen to August twenty seventeen. Here's the only events that DJ one. This is not a select amount of events. DJ won his wins were the WGC HSBC the WGC Cadillac the US open, the WG Bridgestone the BMW championship playoff event. The Genesis at riv- WGC, Mexico WGC del matchplay, and then the Northern Trust a playoff event, the only non playoff or WGC or major event that he won was the Genesis. Are you saying that he has a hard time winning fulfilled event? Used to be the take a huge knock on. That's a that's yes. People might fight you. What if that's what you're saying? This was thrown out today. You have a very strong claim on this one but over under thirty and a half career wins for DJ. It's what right now any twenty. This is the PGA tour. We're not so hard. So he's thirty two thirty four thirty four years old. I say that's an easy over over. I wanna say over as well. But you read so many things about maybe fill is the mega outlier here. But you read so many things about how sharply putting drops off those guys get into their late thirties early forties. And I don't know. It's really hard. It's it's one of those things that you look at now if this trend continues forever like God, he might pass Phil. And I don't know he would be a freak. If he keeps up this pace for another ten years. Right. I mean, it's so I don't know. Let's say knocks off another two this year. I've seen say It it seems seems like. like ten in the next three years. He has. No, he has no injuries that we know about. Yeah. Right. Like, he's pretty I mean other than other Jansky cough. Off course injuries. He's pretty healthy. I see no problem with him basically knocking off two or three a year for the next five years yet to love over under. Should it be like thirty four and a half because he's won eleven times since the beginning of twenty fifteen hot in eleven more winds sounds like a ton? But he's eleven times in the last four calendar. Right. He's in the he's it'll of its peak right now thirty four. Yeah. I feel I feel like it's a forty and a half over on her. Wow. One of these coming at your boy, Phil. Yeah. Well, you should what? And I was gonna say when you're rattling off his wins during that period. We're so. Just doesn't even sound impressive in a post tired. That's so wild care. Cow Porter's tweeden's Satistics today through two hundred forty six career starts victories. "I had I played really well for the first grounds. Unfortunately missed too many greens the last day around that Gulf horse. You can't you can't really miss do many catches up to quick yet. So he, but so in in six so you you've played at six starts you made three cuts. Yes, you've made one hundred K so far on the PGA tour. I think you made one hundred sixty K last tour. Yeah. So that's kind of gives you an idea of the of the range and difference. Just kind of I don't know. Everybody knows a lot of money professional golf, but just see in some the size of some of the paychecks that come in the guys are the guys that are doing this for the first time. This is a very serious thing. I think I saw one of your tweets right after Adam long one in Adams been a pro for five years six years. Maybe I think even longer than that. Yeah. He doubled his earnings in one week. Yeah. His career earnings eight hundred eighty five K or something through eight professional seasons. Exact and then won a million bucks. Yeah. And it's it's awesome. It's the opportunities that we have out here on the PGA tour to provide for our families. To play in front of fans the way that we do is incredible. It is. So so unique and so cool. So what's next for you? Then what are you in events? Go on are you are you the reshuffle is after Genesis after Genesis. So will you slide up again based on your finish, Tori, or you? I would hope so. Yeah, I have I really hope. So I don't know though. And that's kind of the scary thing, we're planning travel. It's like, well, we're going to Pebble Beach next week and maybe Los Angeles do the Monday qualify for Los Angeles. And then we'll get it onto Puerto Rico and After Puerto Rico I'd love to play here in Florida but same times, but this new schedule, you don't know how many guys are going to want to be playing early in Florida. If they're going to be doing prep for the players. It's coming up here in about a month. And it's coming up suit really quick we have to WGC's in the next six weeks. I think like it's packed. Yeah. Very packed early on. So I have onsite other than pebble and Puerto Rico. I don't really know all be played next. It's funny. To hear like the your excitement for WGC's, which means that there's an opposite. Yeah. I guess Puerto Rico and Dominican how do flights work. I mean, what do you like you said, you don't know what you're going to pebble? You don't have return flight booked or Joe figure that out on a expensive to fly last minute. All the time. Yes. It definitely you lose a couple hundred bucks every time I travel with my wife, I'm very thankful that she's out there with me. Now it's way more enjoyable than it was when you travel alone just by what Curtis maxima thing hanging out together every afternoon every night the. Yeah, it does get, but we have a rental car booked for Monterey to LA one way. And hopefully, we can drop it off and trade it in for courtesy card that we can stay LA and then fly from LA to San Juan Puerto Rico. We'll see God. That's amazing. All right. If we're gonna we're gonna predict the event that you have your first PGA tour win at what what would you? What would you guess the event is going to be what's golf course that you're like, okay? That one's for me. I don't know. I honestly haven't seen. I gotta tell you where I would love to win of her son bail. Okay, grew up here in Orlando. I didn't play hill. Professional went out to the tournament. Never was invited out to play never got on the golf course to actually play. I walked it actually followed same Saunders around when I was in highschool after we went to the same high school here in Orlando, huge fan of his grown-up when he went to Clemson turned pro his playing in the third round with Colin Montgomerie in two thousand ten two thousand eleven or something like that. "And uh so call also uh jimmy walker at uh one hundred one uh walker of course uh you know has done with some health issues but uh they teach comic hitting back a little bit even though he missed the cut last week did finish eighth at pebble beach uh so you got to look a little bit down the board at maybe some of those uh prices uh sam saunders another one hundred or one made all four of his cuts this year has been pretty much in the top twenty five and all of them so uh you know just go on a little bit down the path and and i decided baby not to take a lot of these chalk is this week one thing i do want to point out here about the list the guys that you mentioned you do have plays on this is the last week to qualify for next week wgc mexico championship event and if you're not in that field you have a lot of incentive to play really well here and i think that that motivating factor is something that you always shouldn't take a couple of minutes to discuss your adam scott is not in that field next week branch that occur is not in that field next week you have to get in the top fifty in the official world golf rankings scott right now it's fifty eighths snegur's chris sixty seven so they don't necessarily have to win this tournament the climb up into the top fifty but they probably need a top five tight finish so there are some additional motivations and play yeah winning the one point six million dollars or whatever you get for winning this tournament is great but you also get the opportunity to going into play one of these wgc events so that's something in our liquors definitely do to check out what handicapping golfers look for some of those guys that are on the fringes of qualifying for your the masters any of the major israeli.
