Like today's more end of the day, it also happened in Lakeland, Florida. Lakeland, Florida appears to be competing with Port St. Lucie for attention and more on the news. So this is the story of a pregnant woman who was not mclovin, the service she got at McDonald's. We have some sound for you, bob. Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Josh Benson. And I'm Stacy scheibel. Thank you for joining us. A pregnant Lakeland woman is wanted for criminal charges after a ten minute temper tantrum at a McDonald's. Sheriff Grady Judd says after she became enraged with the amount of time her order was taking, she stormed behind the counter and made a mess. Justin schicker is live at that McDonald's in Lakeland to show us video of the outbursts, Justin. Josh and Stacey, good afternoon to you, both this major mc meltdown happened at this McDonald's yesterday evening, the suspect has been identified as 22 year old Tiana Jones. Let's have sheriff Grady Judd explained in his own words why deputies won a book her in the county jail. This is going to be Mick interesting. Look right here. She's a pretty lady. But she was a McMahon. There was no commoner down. She was in a McRae. I don't know if she was like two fries short of a happy meal. Or maybe it was she was short of a happy meal completely. But she created a McMaster. And she acted like a mcnutt. But you know what she ended up burglar. She didn't get her happy meal. Or her sandwich or a chocolate shake, or a sweet tea, but she managed to get herself into a lot of trouble. And we're not going to give her any golden arches, but we are going to give her a pair of silver handcuffs. And you can make money just by helping us find this lady who went crazy for no reason. And there's one thing that you need to understand in Pope county. We don't put up with that Mick junk. And sheriff Judd tells us this McDonald's had to shut down last night for the cleanup and witness interviews with deputies coming up new at 6. We'll play for you some of that angry customers call to 9-1-1. Anyone can help locate Tiana's Joan should call the Polk county sheriff's office or crime stoppers. Live in Polk county, I'm Justin sheker. 8. Bob sat there with his face in his hands for that entire story. That was like a peak moment for that guy. He got to do it all. He got to use every McDonald's joke he did. And he never broke. I'm just wondering how big is that market? How big is that TV market? That was a lot of time to spend. I think that's Tampa got mad at McDonald's. I think that's Tampa, WFL. Is that a big city? That's a big market. The news director evidently knows what's going to attract viewers. Eyeballs these days for local TV news. When the McDonald's employees asked her to leave the videos priceless, we'll post it. When they asked her to leave the McDonald's, I mean, her twerking is amazing. She said, I'm 5 months pregnant. And these people don't know how to run a leap in McDonald's. Listen, when you're 5 months pregnant, anything's possible. You could go completely nuts at any time. She went crazy. She would not leave bob. And instead, and the whole twerking thing was that like ten minutes long where she was like yelling and twerking, that's a long time to twerk. Especially when you're 5 months pregnant, I'm going to just say it I'm a little bit impressed. I really am. It takes. How did the twerking sort of coalesce with the anger? You know, I just don't, I guess the pregnancy must have had something to do with it. I think she was working off some nervous energy, perhaps. I've just never seen that combination before, usually the twerking, you know, at some place that you expect, like in front of the orange juice section at the supermarket. But I've never seen it. Do you know what I said a coupled with anger? Twerking plus pregnant plus rage plus McDonald's, this woman is a legend, seriously. Now, did you notice that that TV station they opened up with something on your side? I'm Brad so and so and I'm Stacy such and such. It was such an ultimate local news little snap. So we'll get this, we'll get her post it. Mama mik torquing at the McDonald's and becoming the Mac burglar, according to the sheriff. Straight to head, we're gonna take you down the rabbit hole. Nicholas cage answering the most Googled questions about Nicolas Cage. It's next. Bob and cherry. Bob and sherry, with the people's movie critic Lamar. You know, it had a little balcony and kids moved up the balcony and they'd get the candy and they'd throw it. At the price of candy today, I hope they're throwing it. Hey, Lamar. For $8 a bag, I eat the M and ms and then I eat the bag. I try to burp up the taste a couple of times. I mean, you know what? If you make us mad, there's no speak to each other in the liquor store. You should have seen us avoiding each other last night. I mean, for me, Bill Murray's life. And he didn't like bacon, okay? I mean, they're both comforting. You try to get all the stuff out a spouse possible you're going to cut corners you're gonna follow the principles of manufacturing set forth by the famous guy tailored in nineteen five. You're gonna place everything you want to get it out the door out the door out the door because they know this is not gonna last forever. No it didn't. But i just think of you know the the boom in the sixties. But then i also think of being a kid and i think it was in the mid nineties. I was sitting there on like priego. Like search dot com. Some pre google thing looking up the ludwig logo just because i like to look at it. The ludwig logo is based on senior at. That's what the family. Wfl one senior hand signature is based on that just as the ford sanchar on. Ford cars is based on henry ford signature. Yeah great marketing. I know that's a whole story there with having the logo on there but are back to mitch here so Carry on on the time. Line getting back with mitch. I think we left off in the. We're getting closer to the late sixties. Here yes so yeah keep going so a sixty eight. They embark on this legendary infamous. Tour that bitch says was a tour from hell. It was not organized logically as far as going from cleveland chicago the midwest and then going hit hit into the eastern seaboard new york philadelphia area. It was hit and miss you in toronto one night next night you in chicago then flew to denver than the next night urine. You're in winnipeg i. It was miss calls at the tour from halley also says whoever book tour had no concept of geography. That was a that was a grueling. May very difficult tour for them. It was physically beyond comprehension in fact that they didn't have a break until september of sixty eight. They had one month off and that that was. That was an amazing tour. I think i mentioned before. It was the height of their their physical and creative process. Mrs trump traveling with famous natural. Maple cut a jimmy is he worries worrying this Black hat that has a abroad room that whole that whole year. But that was a grueling tour. I heard that they took fifty thousand miles by car by car and bus so it was a epic tour very famous. The mitchell fan club. We have this maps of this And so it was it was it was of course and at the same time. They're trying to record electric lady land. Which is a twin album. Very very difficult. They somehow managed to pull that off all that time. Of course he's they're famous miami pop and may of sixty eight and that whole time recording constantly. Jimmy's on the plane. "He took away our careers. I think it's just really important. And why we wanted to share our story and share in so much detail the damage that was done to our careers but who we are as people monash in was the player who went undrafted and she was not on anyone's prospect lists but she tried out and she persevered and she got a spot on the portland thorns sinead farley. A player who has been around women's soccer much longer she played in the previous women's soccer league Women's professional soccer. That's the predecessor to that. Nws l. sushi had been around women's soccer for a long time. So they have very different career trajectories but they were still sort of fringe players on the thorns. So as for the coach paul riley his career trajectory. How would you describe that kaelin. Where did he start in the league. What's his reputation. Ben paul riley is someone who has also been in women's soccer for a long time he also coached in the previous league and that is where the situation with sinead farrelly actually started. It started before they even got s- portland but paul riley someone who had built a really big reputation as someone who had he had a coaching school Soccer school he had built the sort of soccer empire and he was a very successful coach In the previous league he got his start in the wfl when he joined the portland thorns so it was actually the portland thorns that brought him into the nws l. And you know you can't help but think if the portland thorns had handled the complaints against him differently You now how different things would have gone. Because he has since that complaint was filed in twenty fifteen he eventually wants to the western new york clash which turned into the north carolina courage and with those seems he won several championships and shields and he considered one of the best coaches in the league. Many people considered him the best coach in the league yet. A very high reputation. And so that just made it all the more shocking. When all of this came out yes so when. The players made their formal complaints about riley in two thousand fifteen. What did the thorns do as an organization in response. What do we know about that now. I think that's where we still have a lot of questions. Monash shems said. She filed her complaint a few days later she was contacted and she was interviewed. Sinead farley was interviewed but it doesn't sound like other players on the team were interviewed. Alex morgan helped monash him. Filed a complaint. Alex morgan do about what was going on in the team did not interview her either way. Some sort of investigation did happen within one week of monash filing that complaint hall riley's contract was allowed to expire and the thorns issued a press release thanking him for his service. It didn't seem like there was any other reason than onfield results. The thorns had missed playoffs. The only time the team has ever misfly. Offs gavin wilkinson. The gm of thorns had weeks earlier. Said they were hint. He sort of hinted that they were doing that anyway. So nothing seemed to mess. So paul riley was allowed to just walk away without anyone knowing what happened. He told the athletic when he was originally contacted about the stories. He said that he wasn't reprimanded in any way. So there are a lot of questions about what that investigation was but either way at the end of the day the thorns quietly let him leave and then he was quickly hired by the western europe. Lash and you have to think that the flash would've reach out to the thord sock about it. The flash admitted that they knew this investigation happened so there are a lot of questions about people knowing about this but not actually doing very much about it and the language that the team used at the time which is an expiring contract. You know there was that press release that was complimentary. Has their language around. That event changed since will merritt paulson issued an open letter to fans were. He essentially apologize and he said that they handled it. The wrong way But they still maintain that it was a thorough investigation and that they did everything right except for not making it more publicly known what had actually happened. You know the north carolina courage their owner. Put out a statement on wednesday saying that he was aware of the investigation but he had been assured that paul riley was in good. Sandy he very conspicuously does not name who assured him that but there are questions about who decided that what paul riley did wasn't bad enough that he shouldn't continue getting jobs in the nws l. And so what does paul riley said on his own behalf. Response these allegations and what happens next in terms of like further criminal or civil investigation on that when the original report came out monash sinead farley. They chose to tell their stories to the athletic who then reached out paul riley and ask them some questions and he essentially denied the allegations. He said he had never had sex with any of his players. He didn't take his players out drinking. He denied the the biggest parts of the story. We haven't heard anything since the article has come out. But there are now a wave of investigations that are happening into this The thorns are revisiting. Thirteen thousand fifteen investigation. They say that they've brought in outside investigators to look into their investigation and to look in the situation again the nws l. has said they are investigating and us. Soccer has said they are investigating bringing in. Sally yates to investigate. Not just the but any other examples of abuse happening in the end. Wfl so this is launched You know a big response even fica the governing body of world soccer who we would not normally think of The watchdogs of the sport that we want them to be but they are actually even getting involved too so hopefully this means that some of the questions that we have that still linger will eventually be answered. Yeah the nwf sell kaylynn. It does feel like it is scrambling here. I mean the commissioner of the league is now the former commissioner of the league. Lisa baird who resigned last friday. What happened with her. So after mono- shem and sinead farley stories came out. Lisa baird issued a statement saint. She was shocked by these new allegations and she was going to get to the bottom of it. But then alex morgan. On twitter pulled out the receipts and said no actually sinead farley emailed you in april telling you that the twenty-fifth investigation did not look into all the things that paul riley had done. It was insufficient and it needs to be reopened and lisa barred did not want to reopen the investigation. She said it had been handled. The matter settled she ended her email to sinead farley. By saying thank you again for your email and i wish you the best. It was very dismissive so once. Alex.

"It's roach friday. Yes we made it through another week but it is a week that ends intrude darkness yesterday's news out of the nws l. There's been absolutely shattering. He didn't see the story. It was first reported in a devastatingly detail. Piece in the athletic by the remarkable mcclanahan who documented over a dozen and wfl players accusing powerhouse north carolina coach pull riley of sexual coercion throughout a career which spanned multiple teams portable leagues dating back. To two thousand ten the coverage fog riley in the wake of the story yet as a number of plays and make klay the league that you've been informed of the coaches offenses on a number of occasions and totally failed to act this. Another instance of men protecting ma'am not unlike what's going on. With all day in the premier league in the credible rape charges which are essentially airbrushed out by every ninety fifth. Minute won the gold at he scores remaining their own kind of open secret and this so much human darkness here. Just another brutally heartbreaking reminder that creating spaces for women does not inherently mean creating safe spaces or prejudice who swoop into positions of power inserting themselves almost as troll white gatekeepers preying on the hopes and the dreams of their victims and it hurts all the more because nws l. the national women's soccer league it's meant to be a pathfinder has provided inspiration for so many nations leagues around the world. This the game is currently growth. Wise in a global hyper drive and it's cool the nwf element to be a female driven culture lifting up women. Yesterday show this. Is you rotten at its heart allowing these behaviors to fest as open secrets is just soro inducing when i read the article makes peace and the responses the dozens of responses and. They're all laugh from from women from the athletes from coaches within the nws l a reminder that this story stains every single level of the american game we can draw strength from the immediate response. As of the national women's soccer league plays association becky sour brune in particular lead making klingenberg. Who has written about this issue over and over and over in last night. The league won't fold but it sure as hell will never be the same and that is a good thing and you cannot extend that idea. It's not just the league as the entire american game itself. The federation's the league's team owners coaches play as cost is a media. Do you think in this moment how we all adapt how we all act immediately. So i was just doing the chicago drum fair and i was booked. Rob cook to talk on the subject of the british invasion. Which is something that i thought about so i found a way to chicago and did my shtick did my toll and i then started to sign my book banging on and so there's a long queue. People were reasonable low q. And one of the guys came up to me. And said i told about the afterlife that i'd had that's right and he said so have you still got lacquer line said no somebody stole it. He said obama so he signed his book. He went off and a little a few minutes later. I saw him back in. the queue. had something behind his back. And if i if go another book too so i said no. Of course something for you. And he produced the drum from behind his back which was scheduled an acolyte. He said i decided that. I can afford it. So i bought this view of untested. I said and i said you you worry kind new said i just think you should have one so that that arrived now had another actor light and i was a little bit in embarrassed but not not really ours but a few years earlier. "They're giving these Leagues equity shares in in the organization in order to basically get them to give them their rights so they give up a little bit of the profit but then the leagues are not required to design or manufacture or market any throw materials. They just get a revenue stream. That i have to worry about so. I don't like that where that could come into. Soccer is we did. A parkside parkside sponsorship with nba sell cards. Cards are still going crazy right harder. Still a mean. Obviously it's a bubble. That will eventually bursts and i don't want to predict when but clearly it will because it always does but soccer cards early big right now soccer cards. Men's women's european am not yet. But i feel like that's maybe that's coming down the line. What doesn't fanatics zone. What won't they own. They are the evil death star of sports merchandise. I feel like the quality isn't very good of the of the shirts like like the installer shirts that they make the t shirts and whatnot. I know that i i know that. I purchased one of the a t shirts. I don't know if it's a fanatics thing or something else. But i will. I'll have one eventually. And i'll let you know how the quality is but cogs worth saying. They missed the old d. c united teams. I e to me and i spent so much money in k. In the team store. I if i went back it'd probably like a non a non miniscule part of my budget for whatever i was making back then it was probably like ten percent of what i made was was being thrown right into that in a team store okay that is netted run collection though fanatics affiliation good. So maybe maybe it will not pill up or or or rip on me very quickly. It is cool to see them. Do those types of things very grant all the time yet to latch onto something like poor moss and really sorta just kinda use it So i i am. I am all for this all for this notion of trying to to to do that. So and then two other quick things before we get started on our actual beat. Kristen press coming to angel city. F c big big move highest paid player in. Wfl is notable. I think to me because basically what happened is in the expansion draft louisville racing louisville took the rights for tobin heath and kristen press. Everyone was like you absolute idiots sandwich. They're not gonna play for. You will never play for you. You didn't even ask them if they wanted to play for you before they took that was that was the most recent that was about a month ago when When the coach said we wanna talk about players who wanna play for us. We're not talking about this anymore. And obviously people like. We didn't even talk to him. Well the finesse of taking them Was able he was able to trade and chris impress rates who is never gonna play for them for the twenty twenty two first round draft pick for angel city also protection and the expansion expansion draft so they were basically able to just deferred draft. Picks year Get the team established and make sure that known was going to be taken from them The following year amazing and they still have to open rights and san diego's a team. That may be looking for so that's another that's in might be able to get another first draft into the so i. I think everyone that was was dunk on them. Needs to maybe chill out and and And eat a little crow on that and then the last thing is Gotham city gotham. "But beyond that two issues you know if it comes to domestic league talk. I mean the finances of cpr hard enough as it is. The product is great but the finances are tough. How on earth you pull off a domestic women's league if you even do attempt that and is and is only seeing now that the talent pool of female hockey players is at the point where a viable women's league does seem like a real reality now for women's professional hockey is it. They're for women's professional soccer to in addition to the wfl added at a domestically karen canada's while is that too. It's not too much. I think it's their i mean. Listen if you look at The league they have in league one ontario sixty teams the players. There are nc quality players. Some of them are actually youth national team players. If you look at the leaves around the world that league one ontario league which is deemed to be really naturally early is probably better than seventy five percent of the leaks in the world. Tanya right now you think. There's a extensive women's leaders asia and africa. Not so in our region you have ended up yoursel absolutely top Top of the pyramid. Mexico's done a good job with early. Costa rica's just on one but beyond that there's not much else and this is one of the reasons we we kinda initiated are w are women strategy to really try to push the envel- so part of this dialogue for me wasn't just cannon vacuum is really to push the envelope as much as we can to to get going so that we have this from counter all the way down to panama. Quite frankly and so in this tone in this discussion that i've had urine canada specifically today is the same tone and attitude that i've had in other parts of my confederation because everybody always says that women's football is is the future of the game. What's not the future. The game is the present again. Yes it's not the it's not. The future in congress captures especially here on kennedy united states. How many times we talk about. Canada united states might be the two countries in the world. Were women's football is because they men's football when you look at the tent that's actually an argument you can make a debatable the national team level and also like. How sad is it. That christine sinclair who some now believe belongs on. The mount. rushmore of canadian. Athletes plays a few hours down the road and portland right like his is not on this side of the border plying. Her trade and her amazing craft as much as we would like. I mean i. I'm not worried about that stuff so much. She's a player and she's gonna play where she wants to play she. She has no duty correctly encounter. Correct it's more like but you also we should be asking her. Yo what's our duty here. And i think she's given enough blood sweat and tears to this country But i i get your point. My point is this. The next christine's glare that we see. Maybe she doesn't need to go play in portland that saving. She doesn't need to planning. Wfl maybe she can play right here in vancouver or or or in toronto or calgary or out on whatever in terms of the league. Listen i'm you know. I'm not suggesting this is the formula. I think there's many many avenues and roads that lead to that victory but it's incumbent on the staplers in canada to sit down. What is it you know by the way it could be. It could be two different things like we have on the inside. You know we have the mls. We also have the cpl..

They're old now fox. The old w any w television Metromedia i guess it's time But you know what this tvs network right. That doesn't mean that every station cleared the game lodge back in the day. Same with the bowl games. Tbs did and ms louis another one But i remember i remember the I remember looking at the tv guide to see which teams were playing and occasionally tuning in To me it was fascinating because it's like what is this thing now. Why do you think that some defunct lease our continue to live on like the wfl or like the usfl either through internet fan pages or a mass market memorabilia. And why do you think others are just kind of completely History like the american football association or the continental football league. I think memorabilia has a lot to do with it. and the realities of trading cards and An e bay and may maybe coming back in in the realm of. So i don't go on the water at the beach because it makes me go up to my like my ankles. Well the video. That's all right at least you go that far. That's about as far as i go nibbling on your toes but the video is on the blog on eight fifty. Wfl dot com and go to the morning show blog hammerhead shark was. I mean it was swimming toward the. I will say that it was to mentor them. And so it's it's scary. Could you imagine that hasn't been a lot of us when you go to the beach. A lot of people aren't really going out swimming for the most part you hang in there all by himself and the shark gets really close. This is like our animal our firefighters in cincinnati. This is pretty. Did you put this up to. I did okay last week. We had the story about the woman who is naked. Drunk drunk jumping was in those somewhere in california and she was jumping from building to building and somehow slipped and then get stuck in between these two bill how she survived. The the fall is beyond me but literally get stuck horizontally not vertically horizontally face-down how she didn't suffocates beyond me. Yeah but they had a break. Firefighters had to break through the wall and it was a pretty big well. Same thing happened yesterday in cincinnati firefighters in ohio. This woman lost her dog. The dog's names gertie it disappeared. Five days ago okay and she put up posters and signs and went to the animal shelter. Did everything she was supposed to do. And just figured either gertie what hit hit by a car and get killed or somebody stoler and no luck next thing you know one neighbor. Here's barking in the wall. Oh boy how this dog it. We got stuck between the walls in a garage. Oh wow and i guess. It was walking in. the firefighters. Assume that this poor dog had been stuck in this wall since the minute it days five days so they had to do the same thing like they did with that woman in the buildings they had to cut through the the cement to get to this dog. So did you put that you put it up. Right is of the so you got. We got a video of that and Gerdes fine free returned to her. Owner dog had no major injuries. was just a little bit thirsty and hungry and other than she was fine. That's amazing how do you. I just don't understand like why do we keep getting stuck in between. But i don't get stuck in between bill. Because i would like freak out. Well if you go missing via day the first thing. We'll do look in the wall. Yes where's jamie seen gentlemen..

"With audio and the audio is still out there. You can access at but but now is never able to find the video footage but the chief said they had a year after year make larger bass drums as as he grew up keeping hidden from beyond but Buddy in jack were were not getting paid in those days. They were getting a lot a lot of coverage. I mean. There was a drummer. With jack powell on the cover and it was a big time. Endorser but Young people people were not getting paid in cash. I mean so. I just did a quick kind of google thing where you you know. What was it in nineteen twenties money versus now and three thousand dollars. A week is like forty thousand dollars a week. Can you imagine money. Oh my god. Wow and you know it. It was a different time. Someone's going to google it. They're gonna say why didn't you bring it up. Jack powell obviously being a vaudeville guy. He did do some things that maybe wouldn't be okay today with like black face minstrel shows. Obviously that's a completely different topic. But i figured someone's going to say why didn't you mention that But yeah so. Anyway now buddy. He was obviously with ludwig. Jack was with ludwig their lead. E was endorsed endorsers. Like you mentioned with the topics so the magazine's going strong Gene krupa these are some of the big guys. We had back then Which all of these people created new drummers which then sells drum sets to kids and that's the whole goal is to just see elmore drug stats now. Now crew was in a category of his of his own. Because of the just just the go back. And listen to the the brooks taylor episode in. I mean the guy. revolutionized the visibility of the drummer as a performer and slinger land was obviously cognizant of that and and He also did not get a straight endorser fee but when they recognized came to recognize fully his importance to the company they they actually gave him a contract that called for him to receive a royalty based on every drum that switzerland. Slow everything in their cadillac. I mean it's on their gross sales. This is a. There's a copy of it in the slinger land book and it was signed in nineteen forty six by bud slinger lend gene krupa and it calls for him to receive three quarters of one percent of gross annual sales every year for the next ten years at that point and i. I'm not sure after that ten years how it extended out but That was pretty unusual. And it's not something that you hear about anybody else getting back at that time but but clearly he was responsible for selling a heck of a lot of singer lend drums and yeah and they wanted to secure is place. Yeah it's also unusual. I should mention that. You don't typically have someone who is so die hard connected to a brand like gene croup and slinger where he's on every cover of their their their catalogs and it's just usually people switch around a little bit and it's a big deal when someone switches from company to company y. but gene was like to ruin through so they probably just really had a great relationship. Yeah and and we'll be talking about able switching around. And so on. And i wanna make it clear that i have a tremendous amount of respect for all of these artists and they really can't be judged as a person or or for their artistic skill based on what they did in terms of business relationships but it does give drum companies in symbol companies. Stick companies a bit of a headache when people switch around John mentioned johnny in in his Series mentioned that armand had a firm policy of nobody coming back. If somebody left jen they could not come back because he didn't want to deal with What some people kind of off the cuff country to his endorsement horrors and that that's a pretty derogatory term but you can imagine the frustration of You know working hard to develop a relationship and then see it. Evaporate as the person walks away but It was a situation that comes to mind is now buddy. Rich was started out with ludwig but he did end up with a slinger land. In fact i have to go back and take a look at. There's a whole chart that shows when he was with whom because he was with sling in a couple of times. He was with ludwig a couple of times he was with. Wfl even ended up with Think tricks on. And of course rogers but The chief in his little section on buddy in in his book making a drug company explains that the way he was able to lure buddy away from slinger. Lynn was a to point out to buddy that. Hey you're always going to be number two slinger lynn. Because it's gonna be number. Yeah you can the wfl. You're going to be number one and we're going to do everything for you and blow of heine. And he says that that works out there may affair hash I'm not sure about that and often where was cash It was kept secret because nobody wants that to get out especially to your other endorsers. You know then. Then they wanna know who's making more than me why amendment getting as much as them and and so on but but the chief did feel motivated to to use that carrot to get buddy away from slinger wind and and onto wa. Wfl which he's playing on his personality type of you know buddy which was very much like no. I'm going to be number one and clearly. It worked but if i mean. These are the upper tier of upper tier drummers buddy and gene of literally. We're talking about him now. A long longtime after they were you know the the top in the world and Clearly they've left their their impact. And you think of sling with gene and ludwig with buddy buddy you think of different companies but It it clearly. It clearly worked Yeah a good move up Where where the money really became a factor. I believe was more like in the late sixties and then in the seventies and eighties and The chief said that have buddy was at the at fault for generating the whole war by Because henry.

"What consumers they want consumers and that they're like we already have the enterprise we got them like they know they have. There's nothing they need to do. We're the we're the forgotten ones rate. The ones that are going to buy windows no matter what stupid things they do so What okay more stuff thought. I won't try to craft a segue. Just tell me what you wanna talk in the in the six months that have occurred since last thursday. One of the things as microsoft apologize. They told us that. We consider the new stuff and then on monday earlier than i would have thought they released the first beta to insiders right so now that was really quick. Yeah and this is kind of neat. Because there are features that were not available in the league like the new file explorer. The new store the new quick settings interface and the new notification slash calendar thing. I i feel like calendar should be actually. I feel that notification should be quick settings. Also i don't like that like Windows key plus a used to bring up the actions that are now brings up quick settings. And that's where. I used to go to look notification. So it's like anyway but they're jiggling around with that stuff and if you've ever seen chrome os This is to look really familiar to you. Because it's based on chrome os It's missing some of the stuff. They talked about chat with microsoft teams. One of the big features. But i think android apps the real big one That is not available yet. You know it's coming Lab lab the a lot of this stuff is just you know windows. Eleven like modern ill. I've had pros. Modern phones entered funds anyway. Going to support dynamic refresh rates right and so if you have a hundred twenty hertz display it will windows ten. Let's you toggle between sixty and one twenty windows. Eleven will dynamically change the refresh rate depending on what you're doing so if you scrolling Through a big document. You're gonna get that really kind of buttery smooth effect But if you just reading a document without scrolling it's going to be sixty heart so at actually maybe less whatever but it's gonna be whatever it is but it's not commanded twenty so that's neat and the point of that is if you're on a laptop You don't want it. Always running one hundred twenty because it will impact battery life but you do want it in certain conditions and it will support that. So that's an mary jo. I think you can probably talk about this. Other thing the android subsystem. I mentioned this a little last week when we're trying to figure out how they were going to get the android apps in the windows store less because it was very panos just kind of flew by that but Later there was a developer briefing and they talked about the fact that they're creating an android subsystem for lennox. That's going to be somewhat like the windows subsystem for lennox and What it will do is. It's going to let you run in a virtual machine or at least have compatibility through virtual machine for a os p. So the custom variants of android. That don't lie on google. Play services will be supported. And that's why amazon store is going to be like many sore inside the windows. Sorry inside the microsoft store. The starting this fall I keep hearing rumors that microsoft. Still talk into google. And they're trying to get google to be in the store. Also but then i saw an article today on bloomberg saying microsoft's and google called off their truce. I guess they had like some kind of a truce five year truce. So i'm guessing that may not happen. Microsoft is has been colluding with a logo for the past five years. Yeah yeah so. It's going to be cool. The android subsystem for lennox Rich turner you know was big in. Wfl said they're working on some white papers and explainers now how this is going to work for developers. And i don't know. I don't think any it'll just be like any android app. That exists will run in the microsoft store. That's not gonna work like that rate i- right as of now. I think you have to be an ao s. p. app which limits. Who's going to be in there of course I don't know how. And if that'll change as the subsystem evolves but yeah. It's that's how they're going to do. It's kind of interesting. Yeah right i you hear android subsystem for linnet air friend or anything. Well okay. They're doing their own thing but then they're using other stores and it's like okay. That's interesting so i assume that that's just the underpinnings that allow. Yeah we'll i have amazon's android stores and other mike. No it'll be in the microsoft store right. I think it's going to be a store in the store. Yeah many store inside of the store. Because they're letting amazon amazon's gonna be the one branding trusting partnership deal of some kind. Yeah yeah yeah It is a partnership. It's a definite partnership. Oh that's interesting amazon. Yeah amazon wants to be able to advertise prime and stuff on there on the store kindle reader for the new store somebody who was very excited about that. I don't think vino somebody on our bought. Maybe it was excited about the kindle reader on twitter. I think that's probably just the android app though isn't it. Yeah but that's why he was excited because he i guess he likes the android app. I don't know well the the the existing android or kindle app for windows ancient and terrible. Yeah so that would be why. Yeah but i don't want to read a book in a vertical mode. I presume that they they have a scream. It's amazon they can do that. Yeah we'll see. Kindle app supports tablets. And it's yeah so should. The kennel was awesome undo. Oh yeah it's really the best duo that was like the main thing i liked on the it was like reading a book. I actually considered keeping the duo just as my new kindle reader but if it's never bucks it was a little over come with like a little lake You know record player. Add ons you could listen to music to like stuff has to be like. It was twenty five years the old days. Somebody's telling me. I don't know if this is Hacker must be a hack that i can run windows. Eleven on my m one mac. In a vm in parallels but it would have to be the arm version of windows eleven. There's such thanks okay. I guess they mentioned windows on our Yeah so if you have a windows. "Went back to rope tension so the. Us army commissioned that i know of they commissioned wfl and gretch to make Their marching snare drums. They were twelve by fifteen. And i know the commission. Wfl to make four five thousand. I don't know how many commissioned gretch but not actually restored a bunch of these now like probably four or five of the wfl's and three of the gretch nice and it's really interesting. you know they. It's just they're they're basically made the same as they were before it's just like they couldn't use metal so yeah rope tension. Works out grissom Wfl is actually if you ever see one of these. They're usually not that expensive find on ebay and stuff but if you find one of those. Wfl drums from world war two. They're awesome like the couple that i've restored have turned out really really great drums and essentially she look on the inside and you. There's clear evidence that they were hastily made. You know what i mean. Like the drips and stuff. And it's like you know when when you open the drop you're like. Wow man this was. This was done in a hurry but they sound crazy. Good they're awesome the gretch ones there. Okay the decent you know but but the wfl world war two. Marching snares are killer. Those are cool to you because even the snare stranger like the the mount for the snare trainer is made out maple descru- and the the thing that actually holds the snares. Those are both made out of metal but and there's metal on the On the ears a metal clip at the top of the ears of mademoiselle would and Yeah it's just it's really interesting to me to to sort of look at how musical instrument manufacturers handled those challenges and oh yeah and looking at those those military drums from that time period there. They're really cool. yeah. I didn't. I mean you're right that has we. I love talking about that topic on this show. But i really didn't know too much about the hit. The rope tension kind of making a comeback which makes perfect sense. It's like you know why not why not do that. Okay so talking about then and now almost but like wh- does a rope tension drum. And i felt your is gonna be. Yes because you're the rope tension guy here but like does it have a place within a dr- drum set player or is it primarily just really for marching I mean the obvious answer is duds for marching. But would could you integrate it into a drum set you know obviously in the forties fifties or now really. Yeah so. I made one mashed to make another one right now. fully rope tension drum. Set if you go on youtube and you you search a mike dawson. Keller would rope tension. Yeah he he did. A a review arafat remained in the magazine. I can't remember they published or not but He did. He did a review of a rotation drums set. I made a while ago but Yeah so for a couple of reasons rope tension. Drums are cool because for one thing. They have free floating shelves right. So you have some some additional there and because there's no metal on the drum the overall like there's less mass in total which means the resonant frequency of the whole system is lower. So it can it can Support lower tunings in so resonate without getting flappy or like farting out..

Wfl was the victorious okay. Ludwig and ludwig was the victory. Come on it's so close. It's like. I'm wondering who copied hill with who came out first and then i've always tried to find out and i never thought i think within a few months in nineteen forty two is when they issued dumb. Gotcha now when did wfl to become a major player in the company. Because if. i'm googling. I i always get kind of that little. There's so many little things to keep in mind. So he was william flood with the second was born in nineteen sixteen right so when he joined the company and become a member of the drum community. And you know. Lee start leading things well. If memory serves me correctly. He choked right in. When dad formed william f ludwig in nineteen thirty seven and then the war came about and he joined the service so he did his stint came back and really got steamed into the business and as far as on concern once they took over in nineteen fifty five and a bought the name from cg con. "See new new things coming up in windows before everyone else does and you have the the up into developer. A release which you can run and see what's coming up in the next release or this kind of brings the two together so now you can run a sandbox for experimenting new features which are coming up in. Wfl too so this includes something they calling the wwl out of the box experience or which is as over. I run with it. Based on sub equity the the server installer which gives you an in curses interface to set. Up your your been to w. s. l. environment there's also an urban to wfl command line conflict and a windows terminal extension for adding an urban to terminal to the windows terminal app and the other interesting thing is that this is going to be based on the current release of open to not the lts so up until now you've only been able to get packages for the the lts releases over been to on top of wfl whereas this is one of the interim releases which is interesting. So while i'm still able to. I can say i i worked on this little. This work is mostly from patrick. Where who works canonical and these the maintain roof. Wfl utilities among other things. And yeah the idea here is that you have to go two years between trying out versions of onto on wfl so the idea is to kind of have a bit like you know an insight as program at microsoft for a boon to on w. ourselves for those people that want to track the latest stuff and stay current with new features they can actually Inadequate side load These preview editions. And actually try stuff out early. So it's a bit like the interim releases of ben too. We get feedback and some testing based on current developments. The that improve the quality of what becomes the next lts release great. And i've actually been using wwl at work now. We finally mashed gary through the process of getting approved for something we can use. And i've been playing with dhaka on windows which actually runs on top run. These containers in ws lvn in the background. Which is quite neat. Have you found that it works. You run commands you get containers is that it's just it's just like it's just like running them on lenox as far as i can tell right so better. This is easier than it was before. Well before we had to we had to basically spin. Up a vm. In the cloud somewhere and ssh into that and run our stuff there whereas now we can run it on all windows machines and do our development locally and run in containers which is nice nice maltin or if you seen well..

I imagine it's in the unions best interest to get that. The analysis and employs more players in the giants of elected is well because they can't work in field but it could still rake and then they go sign with the blue jays or whatever right the yet exactly. Yeah so the playoffs so they're expanded playoffs to share their any changes to playoffs. No expanded playoffs was for the pandemic season last year. This year. Back to normal. So you'll have the three division winners in each league Plus two wild card teams in each league so five total wild card game is is one do or die game and then the winner of goes on to play the best team in that league and then it's a its final four from their reach law and in the winners of those wolters. I like the expanded playoffs. I thought that was kinda fun in serving. They're doing this on the wfl they're kind of like instead of you know naming a champion at the end of the season you you and the wwl accumulate points throughout the year. Then you know you could win the whole thing with like two more events to go the year right now. They're gonna do. We're gonna take the top five servers and put up down at travels in san clemente and they're going to have kind of a surf off and A lot of people complain. Probably you could argue. Even though the dodgers were the best team in baseball and it you could argue that not the best surfer and you know have a hot day knock someone out and then win it and kind of have a championship with an asterisk. But there's something about the tournament style. That like i like the expanded playoffs up. Do you think that's in the cards at all. Down the road owners on it the so so major league baseball slash the owners want it Because it means more dollars for them for the players So they're gonna fight for that in that new collective bargaining agreement..

Twitter Hackers Arrested
"We have learned more about who's behind who is believed to be behind the twitter hack. And you know not some four. Powerful state-sponsored cybercrime gang, just A. we believe a seventeen year. Old Kid His name is all over the tech press. I heard you not wanting to say it on on, Mac. Breglio. So but I do have it in the show notes. To find it I mean. Yeah. You know I come from the School of journalism where you don't say the names of miners were accused of crimes, but apparently nobody else does that. So the AD the local Florida news channel. WFL talks Tim right away. They outed him as Graham Clark from Tampa Bay Florida. We. So they also. Suitably creepy, picture. Of Him. I know in fact in fact before. I reduced in size I. Actually had in the show notes. He looks a little bit like spock at so. got kind of a pointed ear. Is Little bit creepy. And, it's interesting too that his nick is Kirk. So Oh, maybe. Two Years Yeah. So Anyway the the the sad thing is this guy's life is now seriously sparked up. Yeah. He's been charged with felonies relating to computer communications and organized fraud for scamming hundreds of people using compromised account according to a press release from Hillsborough State Attorney. Andrew Warren's office. This guy Grab Clark. Now. Faces Thirty Felony Charges? So we have one count of organized fraud involving more than fifty thousand dollars, seventeen counts of communications, fraud of over three hundred dollars. One count of fraudulent use personal information. For an amount over one, hundred, thousand dollars or thirty or more victims. Ten counts of fraudulent use personal information and one count access to computer or electronic devices without authority and scheming to defraud. So in total thirty counts of felony charges, all of those felonies. So I mean I do feel like unfortunately, there's there's sort of a bit of. overreaction I, I, mean I get it that. This was not good and certainly that the law enforcement wants to send a message like don't do this even if you can Initially, the the initial announcement didn't indicate whether Clark had any partners in crime, but a few hours after the press conference announcement, the world learned that the US. DOJ had also filed charges against two other suspects believed to have helped Clark in this hack. The first of those was identified as Mason Shepherd who who's known as chair Juan nineteen years old living in Bognar Regis in the UK and the other is identified as Nima Fazackerley. Also known as Rolex twenty, two year, old residing in Orlando Florida. The US Attorney Anderson said there is a false belief within the criminal hacker community that attacks like the twitter hack can be perpetrated anonymously and without consequence today's charging announcement demonstrates thus I think an example has been meeting is being made. That, the elation of nefarious hacking into a secure environment for fun or profit will be short lived. Criminal conduct over the Internet may feel stealthy to the people who perpetrated, but there's nothing stealthy about it. In particular. He said, I want to say to would be offenders break the law Ed. We will find you please. So exactly the kind of thing hackers go. knows. That's GonNa, really scare me, I remember when I was a teenager. And in Fact Leo, did this did I? You know I was always a good kid. But oh, to be seventeen and have done Brazi network in front of me. Yeah. Yeah. Twitter early, fairly clever. Because, well, go ahead because it the way did it was kind of kind of interesting. Yeah. So for their part twitter disclosed a bit more about the nature of the attacks. They said that the that the phone based social engineering attack allowed the attackers to obtain the credentials of a limited set of employees, which then made it possible to gain access to twitter's internal. Internal Network and support tools although not all of those employees were who are initially targeted had permissions to use account management tools. The attackers you know apparently, just actually just Graham was able to use their credentials to then access twitter's internal systems and gain information about twitter's processes that expanded knowledge then enabled the attackers to target additional employees who did have access to twitter's privileged account support tools. Reuters also had reported something that I had not seen elsewhere, which was that as of Earlier. This year. More than a thousand twitter employees and contractors had access to twitter's in tools and could change user account settings in hand control over to others a thousand. And this was a key. To former twitter employees. Well as we know such widespread access makes it difficult if not impossible to defend against the sort of hacking that occurred.
