Huawei SF5 Electric SUV Debuts at Shanghai
"Wa wa famous name in terms of mobile devices. Chinese tech giant wa wa technologies has the s f five electric. Suv developed that done in partnership with automotive brands. sarah's which will be sold and marketed by wa wa through its flagship. Is It Time To Stop Counting Calories? Dr Vanita Rahman Weighs In
"The idea of not counting. Calories is a little bit confusing since some plant foods like avocados and nuts. They still have quite a bit of calories. So when should we still be keeping track of calories and can we forget all about it. Yeah so you know. It's a little bit confusing. I know for people Because you hear so. Many different types of dietary advice and what works dozen. When do you cards when you count calories. Let's really simplify this. You know. I tell people if you're looking to lose weight or keep it off or improve your health. Think of this large basket of food on your kitchen table and you're going to select food from there. So when does that basket is the key. A lots of fresh fruits vegetables whole grains like keen wa and oats and millet and brown rice and wheat products and then legalzoom's lentils now if we select from those We don't necessarily have to sit there and count calories and the reason being all of these foods are really high in fiber. There are naturally low in fat so their caloric densities low and that fiber just fills us up. So you know. If you've had an apple you know you can only eat one. Maybe two apples before you're really full. And that's because of the fiber in it so you don't to sit there and count honey apples you're eating Where the confusion does come in. Is some of these higher facts. Foods that are plant based like kat does or nuts and seeds are all as now. If you're looking to lose weight or lower your blood sugar you may want to minimize the use of those foods. So you know depending on where you are in your journey reducing that can be extremely helpful but for the other things that i talked about the nutrition profile so good caloric density solo that we really don't have to worry about counting calories.
How Do Boogers Form?
"One of the things. I love about this. Podcast is that we get to cover some really big important questions about our planet. Our societies our future and also questions about buggers. Hey brain stuff lauren. Boca bomb here. You probably caught someone in the act of picking their nose and inspecting the contents disgusting right but you do it to except maybe you opt to remove your burgers using tissue in the privacy of your own home or car or that empty elevator. You're writing to the tenth floor. Whatever we don't judge whether you know them as a bat in the cave. Orien- knows goblin. There's a good reason for boogers. Even when they stick around in gelatinous little lumps the lining of the nose and sinuses also known as the epithelium produce at least one quart. That's one leader of mucus every day. That's a lot of snot. The mucus in your sinuses keeps the nasal linings moist and helps with your sense of smell. Where to Find a Truly Authentic Disney Beach Vacation
"We're going to be talking all about disney's beach resorts and we're talking about disney's i guess. Would we call them their real beach resorts all around the world. Not their photo. Beach resorts at their feet resort feats resorts like that fo- beach and we're talking about places like what disney's beach club resort would be there features are and just a little bit of background. I remember when we talked about the wave pool that was in the lagoon and outside of the polynesian and dick nunez the emad surfer who turned imagine near and when they first opened disneyworld he thought disneyworld had to compete with beach resorts in florida. And that no one would wanna go there because there wasn't a beach so they created beaches and they tried to do surfing. Didn't really work but then later. They added the pool at typhoon lagoon yet and of course they added the beach club resort and tom along they deign has a real sand bottom. But it still wasn't real and when we say beach resorts i guess. Let's put it this way in front beach resorts well all right. Well we'll get into that. So there are you may or may not know three count them three actual disney beach resorts not associated with any theme parks. And we've talked about one on this podcast in the past if you're planning summer vacation hopefully we're all going traveling this summer and you want to go to a beach resort and you love disney. We're gonna give you three amazing options for disney beach resorts and i'm putting them in my personal preference order. You're probably going to agree with my order. I would imagine start with number one. Most important will go first. Okay and that for me is alani lenny desire lani resort and spa in co alina. A wa who hawaii i do you say that. So he no or lena that. So co lena is the little town. This is a true beachfront resort in hawaii. In this episode we're going to focus on the beaches because we're talking about beach vacations. We will do more in depth on the resorts. We've already done one about our number two which will get to momentarily. But if you there's nothing really. That beats a hawaiian beach. What do you think jonah blank blank. So the beach call. Lena is you fly. Into on her lulu. And it's a really short drive right. We definitely rent a car. And i'll get into why that resort alani is right on the ocean in this really upscale town called co alina and it's a little bit of an interesting beach there because it it's very sheltered. They have storm break. So it's not very good for surfing but if you're one of those people that likes to think the ocean is a pool that has no currents at all. This might be for you. Yeah it's of funny. Because i learned somewhere along the way in my travel life that most of resort hotels on islands even barbados in that they build the hotels on the quiet side of the island. But we love waves right. We like big waves. So we'd always have to do. When i was surfing and barbados. You gotta go down to the super bowl's on the other side of the island but all the big resorts are on the calm side. If there is one and co lena's the whole point is sort of like that but actually there's four lagoons dan this strip of land in their man made so they did like you said they built breakwaters and they're sort of like a c shape. It's almost like a donut with a little cutout which is open to the ocean right. So there's water comes in. They are open to the ocean but yes. They're very calm. They're pretty large. I don't know. I don't even know how big they are. But they're big. It's not like people. Yeah and you can rent boats and sailboats. And a few things in there it can take a lot of people and then there's other upscale resorts at the neighbors of alani and there's four of these lagoons and you can walk along the waterfront the rest of the waterfront there sorta rocky so that's probably why was undeveloped in the past and then disney came along and somebody figured out. Hey we can make nice beaches here if we put these little lagoons. So it is a true. Hawaiian beachfront resort. You can swim in the beautiful pacific ocean. It faces the sunset which is really nice. But if you're going to hawaii and if you're going to alani in particular there are many other as ing beaches on oahu. Don't always need to go in a volcano. Guess you don't need to go. What is oh. Amelia wrote a song as a kid going to hawaii in volcano which would be the big island of hawaii not on oahu. But if you're going to oahu and you're going to alani it's a beautiful beach Franck resort will get into all the rest of it and another episode because es cell using storm along. Bay is a good waterpark. Alani puts it to shame. But we're going to save that for a future episode. Pure here for storm. Along is now an official disney waterpark. A resort it sort of water park for among resorts compared to any other pool. That is you know typically pool with a slide. It's pretty much a waterpark. There's a lazy river there. there's a beat anyway. we're not talking about disney's beach club resort. We're talking about disney's true beach resorts on the ocean. But if you go to alanine. You're in hawaii definitely rent a car because there are some amazing beaches around the island and we have three favorites. Yes when we were there and the one one is why of course the north shore's famous the banzai pipeline. Wia me a base of drive to that beach. Any of these things are an hour to ride real easy day trips to go to the beaches and then i call the surfing beach surfing. Beach is kylie loa beach. If that's how you pronounce it pronouncing these the lower something. It's just back on the way back towards honolulu about halfway. There may be and yet. It's it's a real true. Hawaiian bichon little campground part. If you wanna take surfing lessons there it's great. There's great lessons there. The waves are consistent. It's a true open. Beat quite amazing. Little kids surfing. Yeah amazing little kids. Maybe we'll post a picture of usurping on that beach as part of this social media for this episode so that that one's really close great spot to go surfing and then across on the other side of the island is kahlua which is a really cool little town right on the water and they have a really neat beach there too so chi loo beach the north shore and kellyanne lower beach. I think that's how you say it. I may be saying wrong but you'll find it. Those are three awesome beaches. Plus you do have a beach rate at your resort. A nice quiet beach like amelia said. The water's warm there. It's very calm tons of beach chairs. it's it's fairly large semi circle shape. Check it out on a google earth map and you'll see so that is out of ninety eleni hawaii and then another one we talked about. They will be disney's vero beach resort. And i don't know this might actually be my favorite beach if we're talking strictly about the beach hotel. I'd have to say personally. I prefer the air disney's vero beach resort beach than the alani beach lie because it is truly wide open to the ocean. You can't even serve there either. You can on windy days. We have seen people surfing there. You can definitely bougie board there quite a bit. But i'm going to get in just like we did with lonnie there's other beaches nearby but at vero beach resort the beach is you know you're just on the coast there on vero beach so it extends hundreds of miles but there's rarely it's rarely what i would call crowded. No sometimes in the mornings we go on beach walks and watch the sunrise and get bitten by no see'ums. We talked about that in our verbiage. Episode. this is what. I was alluding to earlier if you want to know. More about. The resort in the area listened to that episode a few back but the beach itself. We didn't really focus on and there is a beach house. there where you can rent watercraft sailboats. But you can bring your own boogie boards and you surf and you're within range of bringing a surfboard. It's your subject to the winds really. It's wind driven surf there. It's not nash. Natural surf break but the beach itself has filled with tons of shells and highlight to look for shark teeth. It's weather dependent so days. It's actually quite calm other days. It's very rough. So i liked that personally. I like those open
Observations From Bayern Munich's Smashing 4-0 Victory Over Stuttgart
"Will stop in the bundesliga and you might think well. Why are we buying one. Four now against god. What's the big deal i miss. The big deal is afonso davies of buying sent off in the twelve. Th minute nil nil ten minutes later buying a three nil up welcome in fueled softer reflects on something. And i don't think i've ever seen before. Well this is sad day for german football because they have said that if buying played with ten players they will be beatable so they tried that today. Davis was rightly sent off after wa wa in the wind because he got a yellow. I and eleven does scale and robbery miller. The restaurant just did something. That is like unbelievable. There were four nil suddenly against the stupid cat team. That is later. Be quite good. Foam unbelievable to watch and just show you this buying team got that extra gear that i can use. They often down but it come back dortmund zero to winning four two champions league. They just win when i want to win. A now stood tried another thing. Eleven gets ten still losing four nil at the psychology from both sides. Yan here well. First of all studio will have a good conference. They're coming to 'alliance now now fans there. I think well we can have a chance. We've seen gerona result home advantage. Not as good as it usually is and a ban on their side. Thank you i will. We have to concentrate because our lives winning the day before and then stood would want more. They think well no. We really have a chance. But what do they do their team. Levin does get a team they just take another gear up. I think okay. No we have to concentrate. No we have to play quicker. We want to touch. We have to give a loverdos even better the ball here to goals and the ending a hat trick
Oppo find x3 pro review
"Embargo for the for the find x three pro lifted this morning this is okposo latest and greatest opo and oneplus share parent company. Bb case so there will be some overlap in what we talk about We don't know a lot about the oneplus series but what we know about the finance three pro. I think will dovetail nicely into the rumors for the oneplus nine. So let's start with you. Miriam you have this phone. It's oboe is not a brand name and north america yet. But i think it's becoming a bit more ubiquitous in europe where alex is you've reviewed one pl- or oboe phones for years now and you're you're among the first people to bring kind of these. Chinese brand opal vivo. Walkway into the purview of us audiences. So when you take a look at the x three pro. What's your first impression. Is this a phone that was made for a worldwide audience or is this more a phone that was made for a chinese audience. That is them being sort of adapted for the west. I think we're at the point now. Where i wanna odd xiaomi to your last i think yeah okay. I think we're the point. Where really these global launches of these phones the me levin from shami recently of course the oppo phoenix three pro and financial three series our global phones through and through. And i think that that's very exciting to me. Now we get the short end of the stick in north america. You're in canada. I'm in the us. Because we still don't get full five g support for our weird bands. And that means that i hesitate to recommend this phone to folks live on the north american continent of this time. I haven't tested the oppo yet on five g. here i'm hoping that as qualcomm becomes more omnipresent not that it isn't already but i mean in terms of its Band support for five g. sub. Six that we get eventually to a point where even buying global phone will just work on some bands in us. Kind of like four g. Lt. foams do and in canada. So i think these phones feel like truly global phones to me. I think that the biggest challenge the biggest obstacle that existed in the pass with these two years ago three years ago. If you imported one was the software. Felt very chinese in the sense that it was. It's like it's hard to explain. But there's a certain flavor to chinese phones if you've ever used one that doesn't have google services on it and that's changed radically. I think caller west which is what apple runs which is an on top of android is even closer now to oxygen. Which is what one plus has which makes sense. Bbq groups same company but in the past. That wasn't always the case. And i think xiaomi's done a very good job as well as an improving it appears to be more you know more universal to the global markets to customers in different countries. So i really have no qualms with this phone i think. It's it's a solid all-round flagship. It brings to the table some things we've never seen before and it on top of that. You know short of the five g support from north. America is a truly global phone so alex. You're the only person among the four of us that uses this phone. Where in the markets intended give us your overview of how fits into the uk european market. And what your first impressions are so whether fit into the market. Whether hoping to the mock i think is in the gap. The is currently in the process of being vacated by wa so there is a a room for another major player in europe and the uk. And i think that's that's where they plan to slow us into already seeing that taking advantage of always current challenges in china whether the now the the number one manufacturer but yeah i think in terms of just the quality the phone. It's it builds on what we saw in the next two pro in little ways last year But the my money this is a little bit of a one. Step forward one step back. Sort of a situation They're all the things. I really enjoyed about the findings to pro- And it it just seemed to have every angle sort of covered in terms of photography and a big part of that is super zoom telephoto in it. Yeah oddly something that a lot of brands of moving away from this year with the exception of while way sometime maybe xiaomi That's something i really miss. Unfor- photography scented phone that seems like a big emission. Especially when you have this weird microscope thing which is fun to play around with but is not going to have anywhere near the practical value In terms like dealer photography assume would get you So that's one sort of disappointments. That i have with it Made worse by the fact that. I'm not a massive found. The microscope The other side air you. i know this is. This is a one. A one point of conflicts on this phone denialism massive out of the microscope. But just before we get to that. The other thing is Find extra prolapsed yet no wireless charging is kind of becoming a table. Stakes feature ever since apple introduced is Now we finally have that but the battery life is just null. Great unstaffed That's the problem right When you getting in the region of twelve to thirteen hours In its its fooling over after about three and a half hours screen on you know especially for me coming from pixel five and show. I've been spoiled a little bit by that phone but Yeah it's haunted. Described the boundary line for this thing is anything but just a big disappointment for me. I would agree with that in the week or so that i've used it especially coming from the galaxy s twenty one pixel five. This is a big battery. that just doesn't perform like a big battery but were still a month out from launch and miriam. I know you haven't spent a ton of time with it but what's your impression of. I wanna come back to the camera. Because i think the the cameras a sort of a question mark for me. Every time i've spoken to one. Plus they give me different answers for why they made the decisions they did around the load out but the phone. Form factor right. They made a big deal about this single piece of glass on the back and how they machine did and you know burned it in killing at seven hundred degrees and puts a magic spell on it to keep its shape and all that. What's your impression of the form of this device. It's really interesting. And i think it's something that a lot of people it's pretty arresting to somebody who's looking at it from the back for the first time. Yeah i love the design. I think it's really unique. A middle worried that you know. It's like form over function in some way. Because i mean at this price point. What's the price anyway. Do we know eleven hundred pounds or twelve hundred years this price. That's fine but i like so gonna be a thousand like it's about the same as the next to last year pros last year. But he's a little bit cheaper but yeah that over thousand dollar price point. I'm okay with the crazy. You know wizards type approach to making the thing with thousands of hours of manufacturing time. Whatever it might be. I think it looks really cool. I've got the kind of grayish color. One agree dark rate lack. I don't know what color that is. But it's looking at a mirror. The whole thing is one piece. It's very cool. My my thing is that i'm really happy. They added wireless charging. That was the thing that i wanted to make a final to pro my daily driver austere and it up with of course oneplus eight pro which is count like again you know the oneplus nine pro is going to be a dead ringer of this phone. So no surprise there like in many ways so the reason i couldn't do it because what trudging was missing. Now that's been remedied by battery life. I haven't tested yet. So i don't know but it might be a result of trying to run everything at one twenty hertz and quad hd. I feel that. If i have to compromise somewhere it's resolution usually my eight pro oneplus a prior run at ten eighty p right and probably run the oneplus nine pro and switched to it at ten pm. Pretty convinced. i'm going to switch to it so wait you're of all the phones that you've used including the galaxy s twenty one. You're still using the eight pro. Is your daily driver. Oh yeah no. Don't i don't want to switch to off and i have so many ops to reinstall and set up a one once a year thing and i have to pick wisely right last year. I decided that i was going to wait. For the pixel five and so i hung hoed with the pixel forty or whatever four acceler my pocket for a while and then i realized that the pixel five was giving giving me what i want and the four or five g was actually the better form but didn't have wireless charging in my opinion so then i went said. I need to make a decision. So i went eight pro and the reason for that is i want i want wanna pixel essentially but i wanna flagship right. So what's the closest you can get to that. You can't get a flagship from google anymore. Anyway i digress but back to the quickey unfortunately have just to go as soon but i feel that for me. What surprised me. The most is the telephone okay. I couldn't get numbers on this. Is it three x two x two x optical and switch to x optical with five x figs. Zoom whatever hybrid. That's hybrid probably looks okay at five x hybrid but probably know better than one hundred eight megapixel. That's trying to do five x kinda like the eleven right. Yeah these over the past It's just fine. I is is fine of five but go beyond five. It's a bit yeah. We had a paris copa. Like five x right. That was different from the oneplus. Eight pro which only had like three x telephoto. So i think the teleph- the the lack of the telephoto disappearing from almost everyone's phones except for you know an iphone doesn't really count because there's only two axe to me. Anything that's to excellence doesn't count. It has to be three more. And ideally it needs to have two of them like the s twenty one ultra or the. We p forty pro plus. Which was my darling camera phone last year. Despite the lack of gm's so you see. That's the reason. Part of the reason daniel that i went with the pro because i knew that if i needed a better camera just pull out a weiwei. P forty plus and carry that with me right and so so then. I guess the party question that i would ask is what would it take for the financial three pro to be your daily driver over the nine. The oneplus nine pro. Because they are so similar to things. And i want that i feel. Actually this might take away from this. Phone is that oppo is holding back for an ultra version. Yes that was my conspiracy theories. Well i feel like we're like because everybody's doing more than a pro. Now i feel that apple is exploring that ultra premium end. And he's gonna come out with a special edition of this phone. That will have a proper periscope telephoto. But what would make me switch would be more see right now. Could live with a two x telephoto. If it's any good. I don't know off to try it but i think for me. It's five g support simply. Because i'm on t. mobile in the us and it's actually beneficial in terms of network coverage for me it's not really beneficial terms of speed by re does give me slightly better performance in some fringe situations and that would be my big. My big request bought the other thing. That i'm interested intrigued. Bob because i haven't really had chance to tessies. Cameras yet. Is their choice of using the two identical fifty megapixel. I am seven six six sensors on the ultrawide and the main to get perfect color. Matching 'cause how's that worked out for you guys so interesting thing. That is the you in theory. That is what happens. But then you have the ai thing that's turned on. Which can you run. I'm not sure by default but if you use it You know it's very useful things in some situations but if you use it then you can get radically different looking switching between the two lenses if you don't have the tent on yet is obviously much closer as a parting thought. I have a feeling that while last year's apple finds pro would have been my choice for that time period of the year that first half of the year until the no twenty ultra came out. Which was my darling phone of the fall. But i switched to it because i was lazy. And of course he has twenty ultra. now is a pretty solid choice for photography. I think until until then until the eight pro last year the findings to pro choice other than wireless charging and five jeep but this year. I'm much more convinced that all want the oneplus nine pro. That's your segue as i'm leaving because for me. The one plus nine pro. F- i don't know all of the details yet but that hassle partnership has me intrigued and more importantly i know it's going to support all the bands properly in the us. And it's going to have wireless charging which i need and it's going to be a slightly smaller phone. I think this year which. I'm very happy about because the eight cross a freaking monster of a beast. It's too big for me over there. So i think the x three profiles held back to me somehow. Apple is i can know what apple can do and be group and this is very good by this. This aversion to telephoto in chinese phones right now xiaomi's doing it too is driving me nuts. I don't get it i want all of it. I don't care about microscope. it's cool. I don't care about a macro because an ultra wide can do macro like it is on this phone. It is on one plus pro phones

The Mystery Of The Wicked Fairy
"Of all the classic depictions of the wicked fairy ruining a royal christening. The most popular is likely cheryl. Perrault's the sleeping beauty in the would from sixteen ninety seven. The passage reads just when they were all about to be seated. A ferry who was getting on in years entered the palace. She had not been invited because she had not left the tower in which she had been living for more than fifty years. Everyone thought that she had either died or fallen under a spell. Her head trembled more with malice than from old age as she decreed the princess will die after piercing her finger with a spindle but the wicked fairy is actually much older than perot's tale. She is first mentioned in thirteenth century. French epic poem called yuan of bordeaux in it a night in his party. A tense meeting with over on the king of the fairies who tells the night that the wicked fairy cursed him at birth to stunt his height she also appears in the seventeenth century tales of. Marie had trine mel. Do barna viel. Who wrote under the name. Madame dune wa. She coined the term fairytale and depicts the wicked fairy in three different stories. Behind in the would princess may blossom and the blue bird in each a wicked fairy named cara boss the fate of the night presents as dangerous. Take on the standard fairy godmother she avengers every slide against her and her goddaughter often at the expense of the girls rival another young woman who's been blessed by other fairies with beauty grace and talent. It's interesting to note common themes in delwan and perot's choices as they were contemporaries. The wicked fairy is almost always old and forgotten by the royals due to the assumption that she'd been lost to time. Her curses vary but they tend to involve animal transformations and last a set length of time and the person she's punishing is almost always an innocent. It is said that every fairy worth her magic had god child but getting one wasn't easy it required an invitation to opulent christenings thrown by fussy parents with a taste for gold and jewels. Each jerry had to present her gifts to the child which had to be equal in beauty and value only then did one lucky ferry. Get the job. Sometimes infighting between the fairies broke out and the entire castle was destroyed. Being worthy of a godchild was a tough nasty business. And it didn't matter a whit to carrabba's the one ferry who had never had a goddaughter of course she went to the parties and gave the children her usual blessings which reflected her dominion over the night. An owl to act as a pet and messenger a cloak that would glitter like the stars if the princess so wished to caribou. These were enviable gifts. But her sister's the ferries of the day summer spring fall and winter lavish princesses with traits and talents. A perfect singing voice or promises of unrivalled beauty. Even they'd made the same vowed to another princess the month before but cynical shadow loving care boss had given up on a god of her own until the birth of princess i e shah of the day. The princess came into the world bamboo flutes musical bows and liars announced her arrival. All of ethiopia held dances aisha's honor and her parents. Through the expected ferry feast when caribous arrived she was bored by the jubilation and the piles of gifts. She watched only half interested as each of her sisters approached. The princess's cradle to present their gifts. This was a party like any other but all that changed when she saw the child when she looked over the edge of the infant's cradle everything the music. The dancing all faded away. There was nothing but the tiny princess looking back up at her carrabba's took in aisha's large round eyes and wide nostrils with the tenderest affection. She brushed her finger against the princess's soft skin admiring the rich black as warm and dark as a midnight lily under the summer moon. The baby laughed and the fairies heart leapt with joy.

China steps up threats to reclaim Taiwan
"China's rise as a great power it showing more and more attention towards reclaiming territory that long regarded as its own witness. Beijing's conduct in the south china sea. The east china sea hong kong the himalayan border with india. And of course. Taiwan fifteen chinese planes were detected flying into taiwan southwest air defense identification zone or on sunday taiwan's ministry of national defense said sunday's incursion involved twelve fighter jets to anti-submarine aircraft and reconnaissance plane. This comes less than twenty four hours. After the people's liberation army air force flew thirteen combat aircraft including chinese bomber planes capable of carrying nuclear weapons into the same region that was from the south korean english language. Every rung account of china's recent intimidation of the lovely liberal democracy of nearly twenty four million people. now one of my guest today has warned the australian defence department. Beijing is highly likely to attempt to take over taiwan using all means short of war as early as twenty. Twenty four ponder that a chinese takeover of taiwan by twenty twenty four. Linda jacobson is the specialist who delivered this assessment to the morrison government. A few months ago linder is founding director and deputy chair of china matters and she joins us from finland. Hello linda welcome back to between the lines. Thank you for having me again. Tom and joining us in sydney. Is natasha qassam. A research fellow at the low institute by the natasha. Thanks for having me tom now. Linda recently published. China matter explores policy brief. Summarize succinctly or faces tom. We've been talking for a long time. That taiwan is possibly explosive issue in our region. I'm saying it again now. Because the president xi jinping has made it clear that contrary to his predecessors he does not think we can leave the unresolved political status of taiwan to future generations. He wants to see movement towards what the chinese say reunification of the mainland and taiwan during his lifetime. That's the first point. The second one is that as of late. Probably because of some of the recent events which you alluded to among others the pfc's actions in hong kong. There's been a lot of talk of war of outright military conflict between taiwan and the pfc. I think these media reports have the problem into the wrong perspective. I think it is unlikely that we will see outright war over taiwan's future but we are very likely to see beijing making a move which is a protractive extensive intensive campaign of pressure using all means short of war to bring the taiwanese political leadership to its knees and agree to negotiate nothing more without preconditions taiwanese leadership has already said they will negotiate. But the pfc wants to negotiate on the basis that there is only one china in other words in negotiations have to end in some sort of agreement about unification so that's in a nutshell is what the policy brief argues. We should appear for this kind of extensive intensive pressure campaign using all means short of a case. i'm not. She heard linda's assessment. There of the chinese threat to taiwan china's military invasion of taiwan's unlikely. Highly unlikely so expect by gene to launch a step by step coercion of taiwan using all main short of war to force taiwan's latest into negotiations to etc unification natasha. What's your response. I'm inclined to agree with linda that this kind of phased coercion with many policy measures that china can easily scale up is the most likely scenario are and we can already see that happening. We can already see china attempting to launch multiple cyber attacks in taiwan to economically co west taiwan to try to put pressure intensive media coverage and even to infiltrate some of those local level groups to try to tan politics in a different way in taiwan. All these measures today have been relatively unsuccessful. China made it very clear that they wa against the current president citing win and that they were going to punish the taiwanese for her. These kinds of measures only encouraged the taiwanese people the vast majority of which do not want to be a part of china to turn out in support and fight to when last year. And at the same time we've also seen the country really come together during this covid nineteen pandemic and we've seen a really incredible of trust in institutions and in that democratic system of government. In a way that perhaps we haven't seen in other countries so i'm inclined to agree with these being the right measures but on the other hand i would say that the military option very much remains on the table not perhaps in the short term but from china's the incredible buildup of the people's liberation army that we've seen over the past decade has very much been directed at a potential taiwan
"wa" Discussed on Coronacast
"Hello this is. Corona cast a daily podcast. All about the coronavirus. I'm health reported teigen. Tulloch position journalist alter norman swan. It's monday the first of february. That's right and yesterday. We were mocking the longest stretch. Nationwide without any luck transmission since february last year was fourteen consecutive days. But we've seen that stretch broken With a case announced in western australia yesterday norman male cortel quarantine security guard in his twenties. Who was working at the sheraton four points quarantine hotel and w i has not surprisingly jumped really hot on the web announced a really tough five lockdown basically. No one's going anywhere for five days until they figure out what's going on so one case and a really tough five day lockdown. Is this an overreaction. Or is this the right level of reaction. No i think it's the right level of reaction and the mandatory masks as well and they've just done everything to get this under control. It's one person but this person's been to a lot of different areas potentially a lot of contacts. Luckily so far his flatmates were are negative and they would be the people most at risk so the may well be very little if any spread here. But you just don't know and it's possible that he's got the uk variant of the virus since the uk very was on. That was on the floor of the people. He was speaking after him so one of the things they're doing is they're canceling weddings for the next five days like you say this Mosques are expected to be in place and a lot of other measures that have been put into place in norman. You've said basically since the very start of this podcast. If people can bear the cost him on set far back that the way to get on top of these fires is to go in hard into going to ease their limit to the hardness and early. Nece that you are prepared to endorse. This is still within your your realm if you want to control this virus. There's only one thing that works when you really when you when you don't know where the virus is and that is a longtime which stops people coming in contact with each other and running the risk of spreading the virus. You got to keep the virus away from other people. So the lockdown is what works now. There's no question. As new south wales has shown that guerrilla good contact tracing high testing ritz contact tracing. An isolationist required does make a difference and can get under control. But that's taken weeks in new south wales when there's been no uk variant the uk variant as people listening to chronic will know eddie homes on from the university of sydney a little while ago. Is that the wuhan. Virus spreads from one person to about two point five the uk variant spreads from one person to about three point four. That's probably the best way of thinking about it. Robin the percentage is a fifty percent or seventy percent more contagious so it is a lot more contagious and remember. This is a virus that spreads in clusters rather than evenly spread through the community. That's why these venues are so important to come to actually pin down get tested. Who were at those venues at those times published by the west australian government so it could be like southeasterly korea and queensland where it turned out to be a fisher on nice vizner to have and they're able to lift the lockdown early and that's great but a three four or five day locked on is much better than some stopping and starting not controlling the the virus which is what they've done and look what happens and the other problem and w. unlike new south wales and unlike victoria is they haven't had any community spread for ages knives since early be early last year and so people had returned to normal soon. Can't expect them to kind of do half of a social isolation process. You've really got to pull the whole population back. And then just your sees it up for five days and the you know the good news is likely to be that there hasn't spread but it's possible has in which case just got to give under

"Wa Sometimes they see things that's true. Absolutely. There should be a good game. Look, the Chargers. You know the charges records? Not good. What? It's two and six. Okay, But here are the point differentials in the Chargers six losses. You ready for this three points in overtime, five points, seven points. Three points in overtime again one point in five points. That's six losses by a combined 24 points and four of those six losses are two teams with winning records there in games. They just got to figure out how to close so this should be a good one that Yeah, I sort of lean, lean the 1.5 to do that The charges are getting Yeah. I mean, I think Miami very emotional win right Big road win last week. They're still young Florida They're doing a good job to coaching staff get more liquid in the world for having the guts to pull Fitzpatrick and he's a nice second man to come come around if they have any problems with the first guy if he gets hurt or something. But, man, I really like the charges in this spot, but I'm not gonna battle you think the Seahawks bounce back Mike, They're going on the road down to l. A to play the Rams. There are two point underdog Russell Wilson and his career as a dog 20 to 10 in three against the number one taking points. Yes, I think they found back. I went better, Don't it graded out slightly in favor of Seattle. Seattle on the road, getting only a point and a half that you tell you something right there. They're not getting three. They're not getting four. It's basically a picket with l A coming out of by two with an extra right, prepare, so I sort of like Seattle and dead spots. The ox normally bounced back. Don't think what we really a charge. They don't bounce back there much because they don't lose that, you know? Yeah. And then you got the Patriots who just do not look like a very good football team. They're about a 7.5 8 point underdog at home against the Ravens. They haven't been this big of an underdog at home. Like since 2001. That's probably not a surprise to people without dominant. They've been Throughout the dynasty, the last two decades game. I'm going to say Ravens. I'm going to say Ravens 28 to 21. Okay, That's 49, right. Yes. Okay. The over unders 43 a half year to 15th guy in the world that has had it going over 43. Is that right? Yep. If I had to do anything, If I think the old stopped and I'm taking the under, take the under. You're gonna go the other way. All right. I like it because you know what? I got the rule. Public for the most part, if it's over eight or nine in a row or something, just like Sunday night. Did you watch Sunday night's game with Tampa Bay? Yes, I turned. I don't watch much of the second half because it was over the pregame show. You know the guys Chris Simms, all those donkey. Every guy took Tampa. Every single guy took Tampa the other way, Right? Always. That's all When it's that, man. He's always like 67 guys. Oh, I'm gonna that guy floors were gonna go with you to Tony. Every guy I liked what you just said, Billy, you know, forget about it. Notre Dame thrilled us last week, the Notre Dame Clemson game was great. I still can't say the kid's name. I almost had a heart attack in that game. I mean, what a game it was Mike and I kind of hinted towards that last week about Notre Dame. Yes, you did. Mike did. That's right. I said. I said, Take Notre Dame, but I almost had three coronaries in the game. It was just and this kid showed me bookshelves. Me something he did. I mean, that last drive the tie. It was great. The other kid. I didn't watch the first week. The other kids great when he stepped in against Boston College. I didn't see any of that game. So it's really the first time I saw her 435 yard touchdown. That arm is something man like that kids. I mean, he really wait. George being gone was not the reason No, I saw him wiggle them What they stood for. You got a good defense. I know Ellen was Wait. That was a fun game. Now we weigh hinted at this before. Like the last time Notre Dame had a win like that, against the top ranked opponent was, of course, the famous game. Some called the game of the century 1993 the upset of number one Florida state when they were number two, the next week at home they lost on a late field goal. The Boston College. Wouldn't you know it? They played Boston College this week. They're a big favorite. They've had trouble covering these big numbers. But I'll tell you what. Brian Kelly is six and no against BC as head coach of the Irish and these have been lopsided affairs by and large Mike. Only two of the six games have been decided by one score. Nd outgained Boston College by like 300 Yards in a lopsided game last year. I really like Notre Dame again, do you Think First of all, Doug Flutie. A walking through that door, Okay. In fact, none of those others not Ryan, any of those guys? Any Boston college guys are Tom Coughlin a while? I'm confident, right? Right. That's not gonna happen. In this type of situation we're covered could strike at any moment. I looked at the spread the Notre Dame fighting Irish. Let me see if I got this right on the road. Are. Are they underworld contacts there just until you start giving Boston College on the road. You're 13.5. This is my picked it I also gave because of your clothes, Brother. Okay, who was a Notre Dame and I know you're with Eastern Illinois. But I have the all your cool weekend to your football with Green Bay and which Jacksonville and, of course, Notre Dame. Uh, in the 13.5. I'm good. I fire on these games, folks. I'm gonna fire unknown. There you go. We'll give you are the best plays when we come back. I was one of Mike's about bonus plays earlier today with your commie. We'll give you our best place. Plus, Jimmy Miller. Jimmy got some ponies at Hawthorne for you when we return. Inslee is leading republican challenger. Lauren cult by twenty points in initial returns. Amy it's the first time. Washington governor's won a third term in almost fifty years. The last time was republican. Dan evans in one. Thousand nine hundred. Seventy two most of injuries visibility. This year has been his response to the pandemic. Did this help him while he was certainly in the public eye with almost daily press conferences. starting last spring So i take these results to mean that most voters feel like he's been striking the right balance or the best he can with all the very agonizing choices that covert has brought around public health and the economy. Yup the seattle now team took to calling inslee. Washington's dad throughout this pandemic his challenger culpo was very critical of the lockdowns and the mask mandate any add a lot of buzz on the ground. Many yard outside of the city of seattle but it seems like ultimately his message didn't resonate. What are you take away from that. Well i think maybe it didn't resonate in northwest washington. You know he won almost all the counties in eastern and south western washington At least in these initial results. But he didn't win. In the region that carries the most votes speaking of governor us representative denny heck defeated marco. Leah's for the governor's second-in-command lieutenant governor with forty seven percent of the vote. Emmy i served in the state legislature in the seventies. He said he was going to retire from congress. And now he's back. What exactly will be doing as lieutenant governor. Well he'll be presiding over the state senate and he'll fill in for governor jay inslee If he's out of state or can't serve for any reason. I'm you know there had been a lot of speculation about inslee. Possibly taking post in a biden administration opening the way for the lieutenant governor to take his place Heck has said if that did happen and there was a special election he would not seek. The governor's job yet. A lot of chatter about inslee leaving for a new administration. Potentially all right. So the second thing i wanted to ask you about this morning. Amy is how democrats and republicans are doing in the state. It seemed like it was a pretty good night for democrats. It was a good night They kept their control of statewide offices from governor to attorney general They may have unseated. The republican state treasurer only. The secretary of state's race is too close to call right now. the democratic party chair teen public hausky says right now. The democrats are gaining strength in suburban districts. You see the changing demographics of washington state suburbs. And i think that's why you'll see us. Pick up at least to a state fantasies as forty six state house and republicans are recognizing the sheer numbers in urban and suburban king. County are a real barrier for them right now. Here's republican party chair. Caleb heimlich clearly. We've gotta do better in king county I think what i saw. There was Cope with about twenty three percent. We just can't be competitive state wi with that margin in king county. He says they're going to work to recruit better candidates. And do more outreach. In king county all right so king county. I'm glad you brought this up. Because the third thing we wanted to talk about this morning where the two really important charter. Amendments on the ballot and king county both related to the sheriff's office both are passing right now amendment five would allow the sheriff to be appointed by the king county executive council amendment. Six would allow the king county council to change the structure and duties of the sheriff's office. Amy these charter. Remembrance seem like they could before jd from the black lives matter protests and the demands to change policing are they While the move to appoint the sheriff is kind of an older political contest in king county. It has switched back and forth in the past. But i think the amendment giving the county council more power over the sheriff's office is a direct response to the protests. Some council members want to redirect functions of the sheriff's office in the same way that the seattle city council is transferring certain functions. Out of the police department. Amy i'm curious. What stood out to you in these results. here well. I think it's interesting that you know. There were seven charter amendments on the ballot and king county and the one to make the sheriff appointed instead of elected past with the narrowest margin. I'm still had a strong showing. But the king county police officers guild led the campaign to keep the sheriff elected. They spent a lot of money on that campaign. And maybe that had an impact because the amendment is definitely passing the with a thirteen point lead okay. Washington's tenth congressional district also a very interesting race democrat versus democrat. There and right now. Former tacoma mayor marilyn strickland is leading by fifteen points. And this is notable amy why yet if strickland winds she'd be the first black person elected to congress from the entire pacific northwest. She would also be the first korean. American woman ever elected to congress. Amy does this tell you anything about. We're washington stands on the different shades of blue. Well i guess it shows that some moderate democrats can prevail when they have a more progressive challenger. Who's also another democrat. You know strickland used ahead the seattle chamber of commerce. While her opponent beth dolio was climate activist endorsed by bernie sanders Often it goes the other way in the state senate race acquire. We have two democrats and the more liberal challenger ingrid anderson is slightly ahead As and in seattle city council races last year the more lefty candidates one in most cases fascinating. Okay final thing amy voter. Turnout was huge. In this election. People were really engaged. Just how high are we expecting. Turn out to be kim. Women says we may get to ninety percent. statewide king. County already has more than eighty percent of its ballots returned Where breaking records that were just set in two thousand eight and it's really been driven this time by the early voting. You know people have been passionate about this election. They've wanted to make sure their vote would get counted. Despite concerns about the postal service being delayed and other kinds of challenges. I love it. More voting is always better. Amy all right before. I let you go quick lightning round to cover some of the other initial results. First secretary of state is a close race. Just how close is it about. Three percentage points. Kim hyman at fifty one gael tarleton at forty eight okay. Referendum ninety which asked voters to approve or reject me tori sex. Ed in washington. School saw a lot about that. Where does that stand right now. Sex ed is happening. It's leading with sixty percent of the vote. Okay you can still out right. Yes that's croquet all right seattle's prop one. Which would increase sales tax to pay for bus transit related projects. Where are we there. That has been massively approved with eighty two percent of the vote all right. Accessibility stands. When will we know more about the results. Amy and what will you be watching for more when ballot counts get updated this afternoon. Around four p. m Personally i'll be curious to watch how the secretary of state's race turns out. You know kim. Wyman has been an advocate for the vote by mail system nationally this year but democrats say they expect later results from king county to maybe put gael tarleton over the top and then we had republican leaders predicting that they'll do well in later returns so i'll be curious whether that bears out as well. All right locks to watch k. u. o. w. reporter amy radio. Thank you for your hard work on the election and for staying up all night for us. Oh you're welcome trish just a reminder our colleagues covering the election results around the clock go to k. o. w..

"I asked bryce huff the mccleary city council member what he thought and he said he's just not sure i've heard people say that we've had you know gone on for years and trump. Oh i don't know if i'd vote for him again and then i've heard other people say he's doing outstanding job and it's come across wherever people who said i never would have guessed them to say it so i mean i think it would be interesting to see now that we know for years that trump has brought he'll keep that trending grace harbor mccleary or if it will change and go to india and biden rather than trump and colt fascinating. Of course big picture. Washington state is pretty reliably blue so our electoral college votes will almost definitely go for biden. No matter how mccleary votes but you make the point. That places like mcclary could determine who wins the presidency. This week why big picture trump manages to flip two hundred seventeen counties that voted democratic to in western washington. Grays harbor mason county and a lot of these places. Are historically democratic extraction industry economies and anybody's watching the debates knows that western pennsylvania could be the key for biden especially if he loses in florida. And what they have in western pennsylvania but fracking. It's been a big issue in these debates. So jobs are important for these voters. Jobs are still important. And i actually spoke to one former democrat after the two thousand sixteen election in neighboring mason county. Big trump guy. At this point this is also as you mentioned a county that flipped for trump. And here's what he said. Hillary clinton talked a lot about a glass ceiling during this election. And you know that's important but you can break glass now here in mason county. We've got a concrete ceiling that everybody's facing so i'm really going to be looking at grays harbor county mason county on election night To see whether or not they flipped back because it could be that some of these counties are kind of bellwethers for what we're seeing nationally reporter. David hyde really good to talk to you. Thanks thanks trish. Thanks for listening to seattle. Now the show is produced by claire. Mcgrane sophie read map martin. "Like those counties that will decide who the next president is. Kyw's politics reporter. David hyde looked into two of these counties mason and grays harbor both on the olympic peninsula. He's here to tell us what he found out. Hi david address. David focused your reporting on a town in grays harbor. County called mcclary for sixty years. The town's hosted a bear festival that included a massive bear meat stew until last year and this festival speaks to the community but it also speaks to a greater truth about politics in this area true. Yeah so hundreds of pounds of bear me actually goes into the stu every year out at the mccleary bear festival. This has been happening since nineteen fifty-nine. Have you had a chance to go. No i have not visited. I did look it up though. Yeah me neither and this year was actually cancelled due to cove it. But i asked bryson huff about it. He's lived in mccleary his entire life and he also serves on the city council. It's really good. I know the fire department. They stay overnight apart cooking. Do saturday after the grand parade is when they give it to everybody who has a barefoot full button and i also looked up a seattle daily times article from nineteen seventy-two describing the event. This way everyone just gets together and eats bear because the trees and trees are the economic backbone of the area so this is a place. That's about the timber industry. And it's about this annual bear meat feed event that you say it's been key to this community for sixty years but in two thousand. Nineteen that changed after environmentalists brought a lawsuit that put a stop to certain kinds of bear hunting on timberland's considered cruel like bear baiting But for mcclary that effectively meant no bear meat for their state. Do so of course locals aren't very happy about that. Some of them see this as a form of government over reach overregulation. So what my reporting uncovered is that this bear. Hunting controversy is really symbolic of long simmering political tensions over the environment and other issues to kind of boiled over in two thousand sixteen. That's when grays harbor county flips for donald trump. Okay so logging. Very big part of the community out there. What else should i know about mcclary in grays harbor county. Set the scene for people who maybe haven't been out that way. Yeah if you drive out just west of olympia you'll run into mccleary. This is historically as i said. It's a timber town. It's actually a timber mill town. The simpson mill was the centerpiece of the town. Out there. there's actually something called the simpson door company still operating and the town. Historian tells me that one of their doors was used in the harry potter movies. So famous door making area. The town itself includes some newer sort of fancier homes as well as older kind of company townhomes smaller homes that were actually built by simpson for his workers. You had to aberdeen. You'll see similar kinds of little houses right and the annual income out. There is twenty two thousand dollars a year. According to the latest numbers is just looking at this so not wealthy and historically a place. That's really extraction industry. Fishing timber logging. That sort of things. You had further out to the coast. There's also the cornell reservation so that paints you a little bit of a picture and westport which is of course fishing fishing right right okay. So deep roots in the community not a high earning area also an area that hadn't voted for republican president since nineteen twenty eight deep blue. Route's back to herbert hoover why. So reliably democratic. Yeah just think about that. Ninety years so the rest of washington state is voting for republicans this entire time. Richard nixon gerald ford eisenhower and ronald reagan in every one of those elections grays harbor county reliably filling their ballots for the democratic candidates for president. So i spoke with Historian steve beta about this and this kind of remarkable consistency earned his from the washington. But he's now university of oregon. A said look you know. These places were full of timber. Industry job radicals real lefties socialists. Even communists back in the nineteen thirties. Who became solid union voters and supporters the democratic party because the democratic party was the the party that looked out for the little person. Right sure sure okay. And now this shift to republican what changed here betas said not just trump. It didn't happen overnight and pointed to three big factors where some of these folks in these communities start to lose faith in the democratic party. One is just that unions declined the other. Is that a lot of californians. End up moving here from places like orange county that are really republican in search of basically cheap land and lower taxes but the third factor is a new kind of shift in the democratic party towards a sort of environmentalism. That culminates in nineteen ninety. Four with bill clinton's northwest forest plan. So what's important to that. plan for. Environmentalists is protecting forests of course in old growth forests and spotted owls. And other kinds of you know rare endangered birds but what clinton promises in that plan is that he's also going to protect jobs that there's going to be a balance in. What beta says. Is that the democratic party isn't able to deliver and the the money really most of it is never forthcoming and so at that point you know voters out there start to feel kind of abandoned by the democratic party. Yup feel maybe betrayed. That's history david. What about this year has the current administration delivered for this area. Will it stay red or go back to blue so no the answer is no. Donald trump promised to bring back northwest timber jobs. It hasn't happened. Basically the the job picture. There hasn't really recovered overall since the big recession of two thousand and eight when it comes to timber jobs in particular mason county is actually Seen a decline grays harbor county. A teeny uptick. Whether or not that matters is is a second issue up. Seattle political consultant bent andor stone. Told me that his models suggest that grays harbor county you know might flip back for biden. This year could really go either way says. It's kind of a coin toss. I asked bryce huff the mccleary city council member what he thought and he said he's just not sure i've heard people say that we've had you know gone on for years and trump..

"So I think we're pretty familiar with WHO Clive Palmer is. Yeah. I would say so it's a pretty unmistakable seavy Queensland billionaire and mining magnates one time proprietor of a dinosaur theme park cold sores. He is currently trying to build a fully functioning replica of the titanic why not and who could forget three is as an MP. That's the abridged version and you don't have to read the fine print to know he treats legal action as a kind of religion. In fact, he wants listed litigation as a Hobby in magazine perform and like a lot of hobbyists. He has decided to explore a nation in this instance, starting legal battles with the state of Western Australia Muslims nine hundred in my political reporter for W. Today Yeah. That's that's the that's the job. What's What's so it's probably doing the same thing actually. Ridiculous distinction there. So here. Twenty four hours a day on running around after cloth Parma they've done. Right, and that's because Clive Palmer has about half a dozen active legal cases against the state of wwl right now, the biggest one could send the state broke and we will get to that shortly, but there is so much to untangle years. So maybe for the sake of clarity we should start at the state border. What's the dispute here? Right, now, and this is the sense of to treat this stuff because they all they're all around a couple of big issues. They might be a lot a lot of actions running around the country, but there's really two big. Themes or two big things is trying to achieve and the the state border is one of them. So W I. Five around the country. Now, I think we've got a hot water which makes it difficult for anybody to get into the state This means that unit an exemption and there's no more just crossing I've around driving across the floor and hey, you I in the end, the police to actually say Yep, you're allowed to come in one of those exemptions that you can get is for business playful but it's not like a foregone conclusion I look at your case I think are you really need to be site will say, yes of you come in my cloth towel. Had I a crack getting an exemption it was not back. Now this is Normal people say well Unites Pandemic and it will just Labor Day Clark took that whole things at the high court saying hi, this things. You count actually stopped me coming into the site. He's got a he's got. He's property but more importantly a good majority of his business is in w I'd I ions mines in the northwest so he's Not I should be allowed to coming you guys don't. And did he also wanted to do something with hydroxy chloroquine or or did I not? Just a bad drain that was true. So Hey. Hey Board. A COUPLA hundred, hundred million shots to the staff. When this became popular in the early stages of the pandemic Donald Trump was running around saying this might work. So. He got on board that he's got a he's got a class Thomas Action which brought alcohol of the staff and. Hygiene. So stroke it in w is so yeah he put that on the on his application coming in that kind of got lost in the whole mix per year you're quite right. So does that mean he just kind of has a warehouse now? Chloroquine sitting somewhere. Yeah. Wanted to know where exactly where he's. Okay. So he puts in an application to enter the state and gets knocked back yet armed himself with some QC's and Texas to the High Court. What do people make this challenge initially? Well look, the Hod border is very popular in W I. Say it as the principal, the Principal Line of defense against the ten damage we've got one hundred fifty is now is not community transmission. and. So I went pomme rock south and says I want to bring down this board. All Hell broke loose. It were very unhappy with him. premia mock McGowan spearheaded the campaign against him and really hey, became. Public enemy number one in fact, that's they're the exact words that. mcgown yes. In relation to comment of have A. Blue with Mr Palmer is the enemy of what's the strategy the enemy. The enemy of strike. And initially, the Commonwealth was on Clive Palmer's Saad right though saying hang on, he might have KC. Yeah. That's right. Sorry. attorney-general General Christian Porter himself West to straighten. Treasure. Attorney General in the West, destroying government for you went federal. Hey look in thought. Well, you know what we've got a responsibility here If you look at ninety two of the Constitution, it says pretty clearly intercourse between the site be absolutely free. The feds were on board they not on board anymore why is that? Is it just to do with the optics of being aligned with Clive Palmer or they had a you describe it as a public backlash. Of Journalistic You know water cliche. But that that's really what it was our company on talk back social media everywhere you looked and I think they very quickly worked out. All right. We're an audience and nothing here it's being described as a victory for people power the federal government pulling its support for Clive Palmer's border battle with w way but the legal fight is not over yet with right. So the feds might have involvement but that point that the Attorney General Kristen Puerto raised that you mentioned earlier that you know these hardboard border might actually be unconstitutional that point still stands so. Clive Palmer have a strong argument the. Arguments about the constitution in fairness a lot of the lawyers look inside. Hi, how does this site? Australians out have sort of some in the high court eventually when it gets the. But. That's certainly not the court of public opinion and hey, just really has been. Vilified. The. The West Australian this week depicted you Dr Evil as a kind towed the headline was passed. Up so you Mr Palmer Clive Palmer. There on the line from the gold. coast. So. It'll be months before the High Court hands down a decision on wwl hod border and a lot of people will be watching when it does because that decision could affect every other state and territory with border restrictions. If the court finds favour of Clive Palmer and in the meantime he has launched a separate case. He's suing the W. I premiere for Defamation Permeate China, and had a very public press conference where are they went pretty hot on cloth on plot he's acting in the interest of Western Australia or strategy he only cares about himself so he threatened and cajoled. Cold Manetti, the site might a lot of allegations gives were true every week in. Western Australia. I people commit suicide the. Domestic. Violence right is now gone up three hundred percent, but it was before the border closure. because they're real people to die and Halloween all right off to the federal court you guys. And he's jokester and was cracking jokes during the labor and delivery, and a nurse was offended. He says she's a joyless hag of nurse. And his wife was totally on board with his joking around. That's the key, the nurse kicked him out, anyway 'cause he made inappropriate jokes. So one point after six hours labor as wife system. How's it look down there, and he replied feeling launching my favorite restaurant burned down? That's funny. That's funny. It's funny she thinks it's fun. So it's so he leaves the room you know, looking if I think it's you gotta take the woman, the woman delivering has all the cards there.
