"Not that can't happen. And if wearing a mask for 20 minutes when you go to the grocery store or five minutes when you're walking into a restaurant, or for the three minutes that it takes you to walk to the counter at the gas station to pick up whatever you need to pick up assisting gas, That means that there's less of a chance. To go backwards. I'm all for it. I'm I'm 100% for it. I wish I could come on the air and you rant and rave about this the way that many of you are ranting and raving about it. I can't. I felt that way. For the longest time I get the civil liberties argument. I get that, you know. Well, people, people are going to say, Well, they're chipping away. They're chipping away. This isn't a big one to me. This is a common sense thing. Now let me put it to you this way. If we do exactly as they say, and yes, let me also say that the narrative in the past few months has changed a few times over the course of the past few months. We'll get into that as well when it presents itself. If in two months from now, this doesn't do the job and we end up taking a step back. Oh, yeah, It's going to rain and it's going to rain hard. And people are going to be very agitated about this. But I'm telling you point blank guys, I don't get it. You're certainly entitled to your opinion. And a lot of people have been sharing their opinion. Not only here on 7 60 W. J R during the day, But if you look at social media, a lot of people there, they're planting their flag on this hill. This is the hill that they want to die on. I just don't think it's a big deal. I really don't. Interested to get your thoughts. 808 590 W. J. R I actually kept track the last two days because we all knew this was coming, right? We all knew this was coming. So I had to go out a couple times in the past couple days. I went to the grocery store about two miles away from my house. Okay. I left my mask office. I was driving in my truck. I left my mask off all the way until about I would say about 10 feet before I walked into the grocery store. I went in the grocery store. It wasn't the big grocery shopping trip. You know how sometimes you go and it's the big grocery shopping trip. You know where you have to buy for the entire family? No was picking up a little of this and pick it up a little of that. I had my mask on. I'm not joking for 12 minutes, 12 minutes total. Went and picked up a few different things that I needed. It was the middle of the day. There weren't a lot of people there. I blew through the line. I looked down at my watch. After.

"Just a note again and we're thankful for this is busy she is but she reaches out to you our vast audience and with this big signal the W. J. R. has at seven thirty five the governor will be back with us with an update last we heard after the first death in Michigan at the corona virus there Beth at last report this is late last night at a hundred and ten people said to be a stricken with the virus but today because you and I have said before as soon as we give a number it's more than that right and the doctor Calhoun was on the air yesterday with you telling you that what we have sixty five at that time and she said they're actually AT and she said there are really hundreds walking around in Michigan who have it hundreds and some will show signs of that and some will not which is why it makes it kind of odd and difficult but it also underscores how testing after you have that to cut from the one woman who said the doctors told me once they found out she had a there was a lot they could do for her keep her comfortable but that's what you can do to if you follow the rules and frankly that's why I've been saying and we continue to say that flatten the curve by by just assuming we are infected even if we don't have any signs of it in the end soon the people around us are infected in you're gonna follow all the rules that have been put out to try to flatten the curve and keep from spreading this disease and then we can get out of this and and we everything will be fine but it's going to take some time and there's gonna be some tough things there already have been some tough things I'm very worried about small businesses I know that the government's going to be sending some of our money back to us I don't know exactly how much your win but they said starting in the beginning of April but we are not going to be able to buy ourselves out of this there too many people too many companies big and small that are taking massive hits now we want to survive and then come back to thriving with all of that you know with all that's going on and all that we know and what we don't know that something's right I find it impossible to imagine some guy this happened a few days ago I've been carrying around I don't even have the story in my hand but I remember the story of a guy on an airplane and I I don't like to use the word joking but he thought he was funny joked that he was infected with corona virus it wreaked havoc on the line they had to turn around and and land and get him off the plane well you have to do is saying in the old days we used to talk about that don't say anything about a bomb it's not funny well you can't and trust me the corona viruses that bomb today don't don't joke about it people are going to take you seriously as well they should then there's a guy who had it but said I'm not staying in the house I'm not self quarantine right there to put a guard outside Kentucky they brought out the sheriffs to try to make sure he can't leave the house yeah how stupid do you have to be and finally this one just seeing this but I saw it yesterday but what common sense would prevent most people from doing this the fact that a warning had to be issued makes one wonder a Virginia poison center has issued the following warning quote drinking bleach will not prevent you from getting the corona virus end of quote no you'll be dead before you get it yeah yep well yeah it will it will keep you from getting the corona virus because you'll be dead yes it was issued by the that's my first date joke I think with the drummer issued by the Blue Ridge poison center the warning says bleach quote is for cleaning that drinking and can cause serious internal damage when ingested man oh man you you wouldn't think you'd have to say that but the fact that they had to say it instead yeah I have to say it well people Brian it's people people it's so evil really okay there it is out of the mouths of babes by the way speak you should know that bleach will kill the corona virus on frequently touched surfaces that's why people are using those Clorox wipes and Lysol wipes and all the other wives but even then with the bleach you don't use it full strength you mix it up into a big gallon of water if you're going to have the right one into a Kroger yesterday no tore the paper no water no paper towels but they were cleaning supplies still available you can get the wipes and the disinfectants although that's good at least that is coming back I'm gonna go out and shop for some more of those things just because I'm running very low on them but I'm not going to buy ten weeks worth I'm going to buy what I need for the next few weeks and I'm I'm not suggesting I won't need them ten weeks from now I don't know we don't know but I want my friends and family and neighbors to be able to buy them too so I'm not going to overdo it by the way before coming back from the break we heard our our friend Connie holes or who you hear on WJR often and from Tom Holzer Ford and I thought that was a great commercial reflective of the times we're in and as always with Connie holes right from the heart I don't know if you heard it you were in the middle of Baghdad you know she does that she has a way to communicate she's a really good communicator she is an excellent communicator god bless her and again a family owned and operated business and that and it's not a small business but in a sense it's a small business and these are the people who are especially going they need our help and as I mentioned earlier the dealerships right now our open their open for sales and service even though the numbers are not good from JD powers.

"Seven sixty W. J. R. well they're they're you know if you look at it what's being released in a furious involved is in things like I am and you are to get things on your calendar you finding things being canceled I had my first event being canceled in June and that got me to thinking about banning everything in between now and then and things that are scheduled for June you know how busy we've been talking about how busy June was going to be this coming year I don't want to mention all the different activities because someone will miss here me and say oh dear that's cancelled I don't have any of those things canceled but I have some things that have been canceled through into June already a Paul Eisenstein is the chief of the Detroit bureau dot com and like everyone else the auto industry certainly has their hands full with a corona virus outbreak in the announcement yesterday they were first trying to do things to make the plants safer so they could continue to make the cars but now but push came to shove and they aren't going to be doing that there they were shutting down the factories our our what we used to call the big three and that's going to affect a lot more people with the parts suppliers and and everyone else is a guy who keeps on top of all the marks that camp called us the other day sent us a note reminding us at least right now Detroit area dealers are absolutely open for sales and service that was yesterday's note so bear that in mind let's see what Paul Eisenstein who's on top of all of the stories around the world has for us this morning Paul good morning Hey good morning Paul good to be with you there are lots of changes and these changes are going to affect a tremendous number of people and you'll specifically are looking at the auto industry yeah and what I see changes every day and not necessarily for the good though that said at least the industry seems to be trying to do the right thing automakers seem to be trying to do what's necessary both for the health of their workers and and the public and also what may be good long term for them economically if if anything positive is coming out of this we've seen manufacturers like GM Ford FCA some of the important manufacturers taking steps to avoid the sort of economic collapse that they faced a decade ago well that's a good thing but in the meantime so many people within the sound of my voice virtually all of us are affected by what goes on in the auto industry and in this case what does not go on in the auto industry and I fear what organizations like for example JD powers might have to say regarding looking ahead to auto sales I I it can't be good no it's pretty darn miserable and it will get worse but there is again a silver linings when we get to both of those first of all I spoke with the guy by the name of Tyson Germany he runs what's called the power can network that basically tracks dealer data they've they're they're plugged into the computer order banks for dealers all over the country so they know exactly what's happening by the second and fortune what's happening but the second is more more dealers are closing and more and more customers staying home unfortunately as as much as been discussed there's been a lot of confusion about the coronavirus we've had some fearless leaders who have tried to downplay the event and only last week did really everybody top to bottom in this company country including not just the president but even the head of the NC double a come on board canceling events and all of a sudden consumers took it seriously what had been pretty much a good month the first week of this month turned into a rout Sunday U. S. sales collapsed thirty six percent year over year and Tyson Germany now expects that for the month we'll be down forty one percent in sales okay that's not bad April April he expects a minimum fifty percent decline in U. S. car sales could be as much as sixty I know I can hear people gasping but you know what you want you want to hear the good side yes Sir yeah here's a good side at least for consumers we are likely to see the same sort of big push by the manufacturers that we saw after nine eleven in particular and to a degree after the Great Recession the industry is probably going to come up with big incentive programs make America get America rolling again programs like that not till may or June the industry is going to want to wait till there's a chance to turn things around that they really feel like the corona virus epidemic is for pandemic is under control before they roll out these big spending programs by the way they're going to have a lot of money because remember all the sporting events that they spend tons marketing on well they're gonna have all that money still in the bank because all the sporting programs canceled so they can put a lot of money out there to try to get you to buy but not for awhile that is one of the most hopeful reports I've heard yet Paul Eisenstein I never thought about that you're right the hundreds of millions of dollars that would have been spent on sporting events is not being spent on the other hand maybe they had to make commitments maybe they have to still have some of that money committed to future sporting events I don't know what their deals are but you're right it's not being spent right now which then leads to the catastrophic reaction on the network side and I'm the lead owners sides in the workers in the stands sides enemy the tentacles of this thing are are huge you what I talked to Tyson last night he reminded me of something remember while auto workers the guys are and women on the floor of say the sterling heights assembly plant or the Michigan simply plant will be getting reasonable amounts of their pay when they go home for the year for the next week or so nearly eighty percent I believe yeah exactly however remember that every ordered shot every line job at Ford GM FCA and so on Creech about seven other jobs everything from folks cutting lawns two two people supplying the catering those folks are going to be off the job and most of those folks are not going to be getting any money and many of the auto supply plans are not going to be paying the workers anything or not as much when when they're off the job the economic impact of being shut down just for lesson two weeks is catastrophic the economic impact of the seals swarm is catastrophic Christian's Isaac over at the center for automotive research earlier this week estimated that essentially a week without any sales would cost over ninety four thousand jobs about seven and a half billion dollars to the economy the the requirement for the remember the old adage when the economy catches cold the auto industry catches pneumonia well here's the thing in this case when the auto industry catches pneumonia the nation's economy goes back into icy you very well put and I hate to put it this way but the reality is is as many of us are I'm re thinking all.

"W. J. R. but the president asked us not to hoard not to hoard food we're told that there's plenty of food out there plenty of food in the country and Americans have been alarmed by empty grocery shelves but while food suppliers and retailers say they are struggling with surging demand they insist the supply chain remains strong and if this point we have to believe them when they say that Dick and that and it makes sense that what has happened and we've gone through the psychology of courting and all of that is it people see something on a shelf and they take it even if it's not something they would normally normally eat yep that's a manic buying that's panic buying and and we can't do that we're not going to do well as a country if we if we do the panic buying we're not going to do well also if we don't do a better job you know again the guy that we've chosen we think we believe the most and feel comfortable and I didn't ask you do you feel the same way about Dr Anthony Fauci director of the National Institute on of course he isn't he is the expert he's been around a long time I trust him I don't know how he's doing without any sleep but he's not sleeping at all he is the top the nation's top infectious disease expert and he is a man he's urging us to hunker down as we scramble to avoid an explosion of coronavirus cases it could kill hundreds of thousands even a million people right according to those details we need to do what he is telling us to do he said I think Americans should be prepared that they're going to have to hunker down significantly more than we as a country are currently doing yep so I don't know what else we have to say to make it clear I know companies like ours and many others are telling people to stay home do their job from home best that they can in our business it's tough Brian Morton is got to be there if that control panel running the equipment that can't be done from home and is in the air raid doing her duties with his V. eventually she's going to have to have her things set up so that phones are forwarded to her wherever she might be and I know that too the she has canceled a trip to Florida we have cancel our trip we may eventually get there and pay but we're gonna broadcast from there because now's not the time to be off the air as I broadcast from home right here right now and and I I know you don't like to talk about personal stuff but you had or maybe still have because I don't know the date long known land mine betrayed my family has a long planned trip that we're making changes too and we discovered that of course thousands and thousands of people are doing the same thing and the travel agents and those sites that do the travel what well yes or or Bitz Expedia the other ones they are dealing with a massive turnout of people changing their plans and they're trying their best to accommodate them yeah you know that's good because I've heard that from a lot of people right at everybody the airline certainly we look at what delta has done in other airlines overnight sent out a note to its customers that are that are on its system telling the various ways that delta is working with people who have planned flights and they say that they're working with them to change the flight plans or cancel those flights with no fees which is September that's a very big deal and major corporations are going to lose a lot of money I'm very worried about the small business owner because something like this could wipe out a small business in a short period of time and I am so worried about all of our small businesses within the sound of my voice and elsewhere but that that this is a real troublesome problem and we're hoping I I don't know what the government can do frankly about that I just don't we are going to be talking to David Sauer B. coming up at seven oh five of Angkor advisors managing director portfolio manager and ask him to about the fact that the fed has lowered the interest rate to near zero which was great to hear but then I remembered hasn't Japan been at at near zero in their interest rate situation okay will they for years yet for years and it it really hadn't really turned things around for them with the problems they were having a Tom Watkins really it's a China expert has it been has weighed in on this he says the US should stop taking baby steps and enacted nationwide quarantine be safe not sorry he expects a nationwide quarantine to be government mandated in no more than forty eight hours now of course that is Tom's personal opinion but he's been very close to what goes on in China because he's been to China so many times and paying attention to them so that's going to be a fascinating see what happens but he gave him ties in with what doctor found she was saying we're gonna have to hunker down in self quarantine a lot more in a much stricter way than we have tomorrow's going to be a big test St Patrick's day it's going to be a big test people believe they have a right to go out into the bars and the other cut their nose off to spite their faces we had different St Patrick's day already are it already is as will be our broadcast which we will still have but we are not having people come to the Fisher building we are not if you can get this letting you know again we're not going to be all congregating in the lobby of the Fisher building we will come to you via the radio and online as will simulcasting our broadcast will have the band but even our guests are going to come on board via the phone and not in the studio.

"Seven sixty W. J. R. to to to to it is almost six fifty ten minutes away from seven and we want to check in now with the Michigan state police lieutenant Mike Shaw not that terrible fatal accident I two seventy five yesterday trying to get literally as the smoke has cleared to try to get some information I'm just what the heck happened and so the tenant to Mike job they we just to talk to you during our fundraiser our salvation army radiothon which hit one point six million dollars over a hundred thousand dollars over what our goal was in but I think it I think it had to do with you showing up in your beautiful uniform in the offering your support lieutenant I appreciate that well thanks for W. F. presage that as well salvation army is a great partner tossed it to the community and anytime that we can help them out and get them a little extra money to help out the citizens of the state of Michigan always happy to do that have the the the horrible crash that happened we think just after for the morning on the southbound side of I. two seventy five near eight mile appears to now be the scene of actually two crashes it's a bit confusing can you just take us through this thing sure about four ten in the morning we received a couple of phone calls to our nine one one dispatch center about what they called a reckless driver but we're starting to think that what it was was somebody at half the billion and you know it's your opinion in the ball game here but possibly was falling asleep behind the wheel just after that dispatch got a call about a one car crash that happened at south bound right before eight mile there was a you export or that the driver just kind of faded off the roadway to the left struck those barriers that separate two seventy five north and southbound minute of pushing his car halfway on the shoulder and halfway intellectually during some time after that crash and our initial other phone calls the driver got out of the car for some unknown reason we're not exactly sure why it probably won't know why he got out of the car a second driver a driver of the Chrysler three hundred was also heading south bound I didn't see the vehicle are I don't know if you're familiar to seventy five pretty dark in that area him on nine mile area didn't see the vehicle in the left lane and ended up striking a car and the now protesting in on the roadway ended up rolling over that car the driver that was in the initial crash what was killed instantly on the seat the other driver had some some bumps and bruises but was in stable condition as of last night so that's pretty much where we are we're trying to determine what caused the bridge crash of course with those breaking or anything like that just kind of drifted off the road we'll need autopsy results things like that we're gonna try to get back with that second driver sometime today or tomorrow we usually like to let people kind of get their wits about him a little bit before we go back and re interviewing to see exactly what they saw as they were moving along the roadway is so the initial report of somebody and actually been outside of their car changing their tire turned out to not be correct correct we had some witness.

perhaps Michael Bloomberg's best moment and perhaps the best shot that they took it and Bernie Sanders even though I think people to judge did a good job of striking both simultaneously which is a pretty effective strategy I would call but a judge the winner only because just because you bring another candidate down does not mean that you're elevated but he managed to elevate himself by pitching his program while also attacking the other drag guys he presented himself is a clear alternative to their nonsense your winners your losers and perhaps all of them were losers has because Michael Bloomberg hinted at last night as they were tearing each other to pieces the only guy that had to be could be happier would be Donald Trump let's go to Henry in white lake hello Henry good afternoon to you hi guy you will you bite your nails back on the head when users are just like Donald Trump selection if you were to take everything that the accused Donald Trump up actually still accuse him up they created an amalgam of that whether you're talking about you know the richness Sir you're talking about taxes you're talking about a lack of truthfulness all of the talk about being crazy I mean if Bernie you want to stand in for that guy in the newsroom he would be the perfect I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore suppose would wrapping for the debate he used the two grumpy Muppets he the great thing about it including you know the candidate disability I have I've watched every one of the debates they they all represent something that is so alien to the United States of America if you look at distributing X. platform is it is pretty socialist as well in the bottom line is that the people were right there on the stage the majority of I'm I'm talking about you know the actual H. president of the senators they've been in office will we read the written up a twenty one trillion dollar debt without fixing any of the major problems that are facing us yeah and we can say it's Republicans we can save the Democrats are the reality is that they've been in office Wimbledon ministrations of have total control and they haven't fixed the darn thing and and when it comes to deficit reduction they're both Buck naked Henry nobody's wearing any clothes there you're absolutely you're absolutely right and and I didn't know if you know symbolise with worn again with sprinkling fairy dust everywhere what we're gonna do we're gonna get rid of the student loans we and and I'll play for you this for me the scariest moment of last night's debate the moment was courtesy of Elizabeth Warren everything for the call Robert in sterling heights welcome as always have you got a winner and a loser in my no I kind of think that top Bloomberg did lose it was like get a gang map initiation where every member of my take all I can think is kind of came out unscathed though he was jailed a couple times by Bloomberg and bite go to judge you know when he asked me how I was going to give the other twenty five trillion dollars to pay for as you know Medicare for all I seem like Amy call returned just to kind of over to the side of the kids table at thanksgiving arguing with each other although blue judges come up with some good responses I can say that but I think he is actually more radical than Bernie Sanders as to tell you the truth really well okay hall was right you go on the website when you're talking about and the steel are up reparations for illegals and you know abortion uncle you know the day of birth and everything that's that's pretty radical okay you know I'll I'll have to spend more time there I haven't seen that I will tell you that I am I am really wondering where a lot of these candidates really stand on the issues because on their websites they routinely will sprinkle in a lot of progressive stuff to try to cater to Bernie's people I don't know if they really believe it themselves and so it's hard to have a reality check on that but you you you may be right and and you know I'll tell you this about Bernie he's in command of his facts he's an effective debater that way but he didn't have an answer for people to judge when he said what about that twenty five trillion dollar hole in your right Robert that was one of the the better moments for but Egyptian and sent one of Xander's worse and he still doesn't have an explanation David in Lincoln Park was there any any winter that you saw out of the group well not necessarily just the thing that struck me is that Bloomberg surprisingly look like the Grinch that stole Christmas at the first time I saw him I thought that was quite interesting if you just get a laugh out of Mike persons because we were so there were some physical characteristics that were not very appealing and that was kind of one of them what it looks like to me you know the first thing I thought when I saw I blew my mind here's here's the thing that drove me crazy last night about Michael Bloomberg he never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity when they are condemning him for for his wealth why doesn't he come back and say to Elizabeth Warren yeah why you were talking about climate change I gave fifty million dollars to do something about it when you were talking about criminal justice reform I gave X. amount of money to actually do something about it while you're condemning me for my wealth why don't you look at what I did with it he didn't do that and when he was talking about his money any mention is money a lot because they brought it up he never once said and you know what twenty thousand jobs that's what my company has created and can any of you say that you even created one he never did that and I think that is was a fundamental flaw if he wanted to turn around this argument and I you gotta give Chuck Todd credit he asked maybe the funniest question of the debate which is after Bernie said that billion years don't have a right to exist he turns to Bloomberg insists certainty do you have a right to exist.

"Every day count each day is a gift and the team is here and back together the case there are W. J. R. news director of course being a Clark following along the traffic the weather the social scene the movies whatever might be happening Steve Courtney is up and Adam talking about the Super Bowl of course Brian Morton pressing all the right buttons even for him as a way to get to sleep in today we got plenty to talk about get a producer and Thomas good morning you have seen a lot of conversations about we did the halftime show and he said mom yeah not really a family half time show a lot of talent that I let me say in going on kind of a booty she'll call me off yeah the bully off me in any of going to have one in a minute oh boy and Mike wanted to name goodness oh my I don't know what to say hi I will be averting my eyes Hey is on a roll this morning football game was excellent yes exactly the way you would think of Patrick my homes game would go there down with six or seven minutes left and they come back and win big time it was huge ends in some of the commercials were reported good and and our area was well represented jeep but I got a lot of kudos for example and and some other stuff going on there are the pizza thing little Caesars did not to fare well in that was going to be if that was the number one commercial on the ratings that everybody would get free pizza and then we know lined out if you're gonna find out there that Mister peanuts demise live as long as I am Anderson wedding all cool good one why didn't she they brought him back I didn't yeah he came back yeah I miss them came back I only so so cute I I saw him being selfless and letting go of the branch of the other guys would live yeah he came right into the rest of it yeah I did understand that if you did die he wanted to be cremated anybody get it'll Brian yeah love energy highlight working hard this morning it up on it will most of us to anyway I never saw the weather tech ad that had been that advertised and talked about and it's not on any of these paper so maybe it didn't make the it didn't make the game maybe they pulled out of the last minute there was a weather tech add up and that was going to benefit the university of Wisconsin school of veterinary medicine and the owner of weather text dog who has cancer was being treated and was I saw a pre commercial of it online but and I don't see anything there at all at all our own which album when all was lost Patrick my homes delivered a Kansas city masterpiece in Kansas city be our goal I mean should they be our god mother or all right because now we have the line then went to years without also yes Kansas city should give us tremendous inspiration right Steve well that being said looking forward to next year the Kansas City Chiefs have been installed as the favorite at six and a half to one already choice alliance will go off along with the giants and jets at seventy to one so there you go well that was you're just one of the Tigers are congratulating Patrick more homes there's a little connection there the Tigers you see drafted moms back in two thousand fourteen in the thirty seventh round well we sure need him at home plate now he's working we need him to come on out see he's a perfect example though of what I've talked about in the past of a quarterback who can lead the team to a victory in this case lead the team to a Super Bowl victory and he's only twenty four Renton so that team is going to be a power house yeah for a long time now in the end did I hear what was the figure that he's the he's due for a big bump in his salary did you hear any figure all he's going to get paid I mean I either you know after a certain amount Paul what is the matter but will you energy very well this is Karen the scheme of things I think I heard forty million dollars a year is impossible now it is now okay I thought I heard a forty million a year and I've never heard of such a thing now I know that to Matthew was that for a moment the highest paid more to make a what is he may he's around twenty plus year so I mean it's not long before people will be make forty million not long happy he got a work under the cap if you start handing out your star quarterbacks forty million dollars a year you're going to be stressing yourself cal is going to be a hit it'll be M. homes on the field with the lastest himself you're gonna be read congratulations to him because he is so well liked in the National Football League became a head coach back in nineteen ninety nine with the Philadelphia Eagles one here a Super Bowl with the Packers as the tight ends coach and I think he was the sentimental favorite going into this thing so I wanted him to get a Superbowl right and two decades in he finally gets the Lombardi trophy honestly honestly this is a terrible thing to say but I I mean it's just the honest truth I kept pouring it was going to have a heart attack really Izzy watching him okay I mean this is overwhelming of course to win the Superbowl yeah in in in one of these the first thing you want to use a very Parker well the cool dollar change rate right so he got a back in line so what you see the R. rocket mortgage Jack yes I was good in the mall yeah was a Larry is one of the greats it was picked in fact it was in the USA today it was second the rocket mortgage mountain of a man on peeling when he got home so we can act in a good for him to to make fun of himself lab and then at the end he's trying to lift about ten pounds weight lifting a woman just takes the thing away from a but in the end and USA today liked the the Josh Jacobs commercial kia tough never quits and it tells the story of Josh Jacobs is saying you know what when I say that when a younger me if I had the chance to go back and say something and it was very very good there's a back story to it that they ask you to look at but that yeah but it's not the way you can you can't judge the commercial based on a quote unquote backstory might just because you may not see that well it is not the commercial it's you know it's it may be a feel good backstory and all of that but it different people have different favorites in Michigan state who has been always been our guys that we go to our go to guys the professor there from the the advertising community I think they like the cool ranch from Garrido's a lot yeah that was a good role with Sam Elliott little not sacks right there yes I was it was funny in the vehicle Google.

"W. J. R. have the answers here are can and shop welcome back everybody we appreciate you being with us coming up ten thirty we're gonna be talking to GFL environmental and share some information with you the listener that some of you with your bigger projects need to nail but how about on the do it yourself and not do it yourself they can what do you think about this what do you think about the countless emails we get or somebody says about my tile about my lumbar about the shingles about that whatever and I'm looking for somebody to install what's your reaction why why why would you do that that to me is someone who who one is trying to price is extremely important we understand price let me we'll have our homeowners we're home we understand price we don't just just a minute ago we had someone come to us here to stations that say I want new garage guys yeah he didn't seem to care about price the price was in his most important now she wanted it done right they wanted it done right already exactly and that's where that comes from Chuck because people understand if you call a contractor they get the best prices on materials they're gonna get far better prices and you're going to get a far better price so if you're looking for a good deal that's all the more reason to use a professional because they buy better than you do exactly it's a great way to put your by if you're buying a hundred two by fours that contractor buys ten thousand a year he's gonna buy a better than you yes yes he's gonna get better stuff and to be honest you're not gonna be able to find I get to give you one of our roofing team partners and if you call them up and said Hey I've got shingles I've got younger laymen I've got everything what we tried to put it on there gonna see what we're not gonna charge a thing because we're not going to do it we have put in a no no and how hard our team partners it's so important for them to keep the homeowners happy they want to put the best warranty possible and how do the warranty something that they don't know about you made a lot you know I committed that I was party to it the legal term for it but long time ago we're building a house and my wife it found in one of these catalogs you get these beautiful brass faucets we're gonna do pedestal sinks in one of the bathrooms ninety and they really were they were gorgeous and they were much less money than they should have been so naturally should bottom okay idea of having a conversation with my plumber who who's a good friend of mine he did my plumber forever his dad had been my plumber and he's in a I talk about these and my god the I could leave the pricey so would you pay I told him he said let me let me challenger he said give me one of those and I'm gonna cut it in half I said what he said if it's a great casting I will replace it for you but here's what I'm a promise right now check I'm gonna cut it in half and you can see what a horrible casting it is pretty on the outside yeah it's a terrible Fisher anyway he did it and I still have it some more on the the shattered the garage or whatever but long story short he furnished the faucets for those pedestal sinks they cost me more money and we never had a problem with them there was a difference in the product but there's no way looking at the outside of him you could tell Tay as a contractor one of the things that drove me the most crazy when I'm someone's house is and they said we plan to move in a couple years you don't spend a lot of money I could never say what I wanted to say hi that's just so wrong so could you do a crummy job and not charge me as much since we're moving are you gonna hold me that's the hidden are you gonna hold me as accountable as if I did the best job out there absolutely it's just that we when people think they're moving in two years they don't your right to move in in five or seven or nine never it's a strategy that a lot of people use just to try to get a better price yeah but what really what's ahead message do a lesser job in charge me less here's the thing I used to do when I was presenting a bit proposal to people people it will be a present the bid and invariably they are culturally obligated to say can you do it for less I get that okay that culturally obligated I like right okay right I mean if you don't ask your full right friends are gonna go did you ask if you could do over lesson ago will know when they're gonna go boy are you stupid so they ask you for your for less and I always say yes absolutely what we want to do without right we can take some out of the contract and yeah it'll cost you last year to get rid of the hot tub in the master bath gash we can save you a grand right there yeah I'm gonna do that what what what well no you see the husband look at the white white woman I was with and now they're back peddling the ticket there's nothing we're gonna take as we get it over the ceramic tile you know in the in the foyer well what what what what what what what it may end up getting it yeah say for me to charge you less I have to eliminate something on the cost side when we do good companies we tell our team partner really had had to tell a lot of them this but homeowners don't want to hear this it is just as important for that company to qualify you the homeowner yeah as it is for you to qualify the company because as a home as a owner of a company I don't want my guys going out there for that so Chuck years ago we put together with your help a list of questions and one of the on that question were thing was what is the most important aspect of this job and if the first thing I said was price I'm sorry Sir but they were not to cut we would sit right yellow caution light yelling for them we're at the company for you could you ask that on the phone before you can go out there before you went out and we turned down a lot of jobs in me a lot of people angry we're not even coming out to look at your job who's the main decision maker why do we ask that because we want make sure they're they're on the job because listen this this is one thing that you have to get me going by you in the state of Michigan they require a three day rate a resurgence so when I it's called for in house sales when I go to your house and you signed a contract with me you get three business days to change your mind so I signed on a Friday you've got till the following Tuesday the end of the day actual and the Wednesday through a full days after decided right on their consider business or if Monday's a holiday you get the day that's wrong okay I think that law should be changed if you call me out to your house and you say yes then you sign a contract I don't think you should and your of sound mind and body you are diagnosed with dementia now if I knocked on the door if I'm if I'm what they call a the home sales solicitation act yeah that was it yeah if I may well like a better word gypsy I'm kind of guys come just knock on your door campus okay campus yes but a word cold caller then yes then I believe they have a three day right a recision see but if you call me out to your place now the reason cream can up is because if if price if I hear price is the most important I need you there next week I'm really picky the why would I even want to go deal with this the good companies get that they're going to qualify you on the phone before they even agreed to come out if you want a new generator power outages and and you want the best company you can get to install stand by power then realistically they're gonna qualify before they come out do you have natural gas do you have access to have a place where you want to put it you know if you are a service a whole house why are you smiling and well we got a couple callers on me yeah Georgian town from union lake in Detroit with two goals real quick we get back from break and they were gonna talk to GFL environmental you listen the inside outside guide you mention generators truck collector we're gonna go glad you're getting about news can't fight generator we're gonna make collector connect sponsor of the inside outside.

"The French balconies show news talk seven sixty W. J. R. well I think many of you know I get in trouble with the governor's office because time to time from time to time I referred to her as governor with whole in its plan you know the extension of the previous governor from the Democrats Jennifer Granholm who was interested in raising our taxes spending money and basically using her own ideology as a basis for for public policy and we're seeing more evidence that from governor Whitman to as time goes along as she is not the same person today in office that she was on the campaign trail for sure but any rate all that aside there is there's a another issue that is floating around in Lansing right now that deserves our attention and it brings to mind governor grand hole remember the battles we used to have over the prevailing wage law in Michigan that was where if there was a public project and they use non union labor they had to pay union wages to protect labor unions and and what they do that was the objective of governor grand homes exercise there so the rate I I bring that up because right now the the marijuana industry which is growing here in Michigan by leaps and bounds now that it's legalized is finding that it's facing something very similar to that the prevailing wage law quite frankly there is a new rule that has been put into place by the governors the staff okay him and that's the only way to put it it's it's not something that is that is in law anywhere but the administration calls it a labor peace agreement where any marijuana shop that opens has to agree to to pay union wages are higher union workers true story just as Derek that's what the senator from Michigan's twenty sixth district from walking on the other end of our line center good morning good morning Frank thanks for having me on this like deja vu all over again I think it's worse injuries over the completion of a brand new industry in Michigan whether you agree with the legalization of adult use marijuana or disagree the first the horrible precedent for Michigan and businesses here in Michigan it'll stop from happening what what exactly is the the governor's office doing here what it what are they telling the use of marijuana stores that they have to do so it it pretty is all it is you know in two thousand eighteen Michigan voters approved a ballot initiative to allow for the all the doll use of recreational marijuana well that would affect in December there's emergency rolls over past and then new rules were were brought up these were draft rules for the permanent rule making process were brought up in November of two thousand nineteen yeah there was a requirement called labor peace agreements licensee or any bonafide labor organization that applicables Texas state your spy probing labor organizations of members from the gauge if they can work stoppages boycotts economic the applicant's disposable for about a girl or more companies retailer can apply for what a license from Michigan water regulatory agency they would have to have they have sign off with what's called labor peace agreement from bonafide huge and so what then they use labor peace agreements that spell dial that your employer has to your mobile numbers email addresses of every employee that they have to that that union he went to a union bosses employees and how about the the employees that thing one moment Peter grace so they have to do it could could do our check no secret hope you will follow up on the union mandate guards of your car wagers they had a how to fire and hire workers would have to be in the union and if they're not you to all that is for the United States ought to follow all the union rules first of all I want the contract so the camera buying what it what it will you know when it comes when it comes down to quite frankly is it's forced unionization and it's being mandated by the governor's own appointees right yeah yeah never talked about before in this just came out of and I think it's a trial balloon to really try to post unionization and other ports get it done here on to look for missing studio lot CDL license a commercial driver's license your former once your call the crop market what says that before you get your license you have to climb into the green with the teamsters union he is gone Donald clubbers you use of a lecture since you're here is of the pro union or a car union bottle some of the skills that you have to unite skill wise Lawrence's Senate concurrent resolution eighteen of yours would would oppose this wouldn't wouldn't outlaw this kind of activity yes so the resolution all schools all right this instant acting one past call center this last week it's over in the house I hope the house will take a very speedy apostles impressions of services for us largest late you're working on legislation without light right no but it also my hope is that the joint committee on administrative rules some particular about wall Jack please try axles this is included this is a legislative over the administrator prior permission but this is just a complete five straight down of businesses here your Michigan only a standup buttons and stopped us all right thanks for being with us really appreciated and again will will follow what with interest to see if the if the governors power play stands here or not Eric ness with the state senator from walking really good to have you back on the show thank you Sir yeah thanks for all right by the way I am apologies for the the the the quality of center knows but it's phone than a he's a public
