COVID-19 vaccinations add new twist to MLB trade deadline

"Arizona Diamondbacks GM Mike Hayes and said the vaccine status of players was affecting trade talks to some degree but didn't believe it would be a deciding factor in many deals particularly for teams that don't have to travel to Canada to play the Blue Jays where there's a 14 day quarantine for anyone unvaccinated several MLB teams have gone to Canada this season without some of their best players and the Blue Jays are on track to make the postseason so theoretically the road to the World Series titled could go through Canada I'm Julie Walker

Hobbled by chip, other shortages, GM profit slides 40% in Q2

"General Motors sees a dip in sales and earnings as a shortage of parts hobbles production The news from Detroit was not great GM's second quarter U.S. sales were down more than 15% and net income fell 40% from a year ago in part because the company couldn't deliver 95,000 vehicles due to a continuing global shortage of parts and computer chips Demand has been strong but production cuts continue to limit dealer inventory Last year GM made 2.79 billion from April to June this year it made 1.67 billion which beat revenue estimates but the per share earnings fell short of Wall Street expectations Nevertheless the company's annual income guidance is holding steady in a letter to shareholders CEO Mary Barra says the company's confidence comes from an expectation that global production and wholesale deliveries will be up sharply in the second half I'm Jennifer King

The AP Interview: GM's Barra stands by ambitious EV pledge

"The CEO at General Motors is standing by a pledge on electric vehicles Mary Barra is predicting by the middle of this decade GM will sell more electric vehicles in the U.S. than the market leader Tesla Barra tells the AP her strategy is affordability You have to appeal to people that are in that 30 to $35,000 price range That's where the bolt is already there but the equinox is just a phenomenal vehicle Last year GM sold just 25,000 electric vehicles in the U.S. less than one tenth of the estimated 352,000 sold by Tesla Buying an EV is just better Because if you've had the chance to drive one of our electric vehicles they're fun to drive instant torque quiet And so I think there's a lot to offer Already GM is pledging to cut the starting price for the Chevy bolt small SUV to around $26,000 later this year Tesla's lowest price vehicle sells for about $60,000 I'm Ed

Stink Reacts to ESPN's List of Top 10 NFL Running Backs

"So stink yesterday, the top ten running backs in the NFL came out. Okay? Derek Henry number one. Yeah. Jonathan Taylor number two, Nick Chubb and Cleveland. Number three, Dalvin cook in Minnesota. Number four, Alvin Kamara. Number 5 in New Orleans. Joe Mixon and Cincinnati, number 6. Christian McCaffrey, Colorado is one of those favorite sons, Christian McCaffrey, number 7. Nausea Harris, number 8. Aaron Jones and Green Bay, number 9. And then you get to number ten on the list from the people in the sport, the top ten players at every position. Javonte Williams came in at number ten on this list, your reaction, your reaction is what? My reaction is it shows you the respect that people evaluators and people who play and coach and GM in this league, the respect they have for that guy as a player because that guy, unlike most of these guys, most of these guys are pretty much Bel cow guys. That dude was a true split. So you're talking about a guy that truly split the carries. And this league has gone that way to where there's different guys that have different skill sets and play in different packages and different situations. But the majority of these guys, if you're going to run it 25 times, they're getting 18 or 19 of those carries. And javonte was truly a 50 50 guy.

Joe Sakic Wins the 2022 NHL 'GM of the Year' Award

"Joe sakic Wednesday NHL GM executive of the year award and so deserving and again, it's a regular season award that was voted on, but boy, it would have looked kind of silly to have given it to somebody else after you saw the way the avalanche went out and won the cup. In large parts of the moves he made, man. He pushed every button and hey, we've been pretty lucky here in this town to watch. Guys that were great athletes championship athletes also kind of show their chops as an executive. First John Elway and now, Joe sack, yeah, and that's pretty rare. Isn't it? To have a guy who's awesome on the ice or on the field, be able to spot talent and have and have a knack for putting a team together and understanding the levers to pull in the buttons to push, 'cause a lot of guys man, a lot of guys are just instinctively so good and they can't explain why and they can't put it together and I know some will accuse John Elway of having a little bit of that later in his career, but he brought us another Super Bowl as an executive and Joe sacking, this award much deserved to me, you look at Jared bednar and that's Jared bednar is just a reflection of Joe sakic's approach and just trusting him to get his team on the right track. A guy who was not well known and gave him the reins and so much deserved a joke sacking and let's go get another

The Inspiring Story of Raido GM Barb Yoder

"General manager of the radio station that carries our show in the Tampa Bay Area, really our flagship station since I live in Florida now full time, barb yoder is a pretty amazing woman. She's the general manager of AMH 60 the answer she runs the cluster of Salem radio stations in the Tampa Bay, saint Pete Clearwater region. And she's a pretty remarkable woman. She's a cancer survivor. And as somebody who has followed her for years and worked with her, that was pretty tough for all of us, not to mention what she went through, and yet she beat it. And when she beat cancer, the journey she was on was inspirational to anyone who knows her because being the strong person of faith that she is, she never, ever expressed any doubt or reluctance to embrace the idea that God had this that God was in control no matter what the outcome God had this. And you know that about people of faith, you know that deeply spiritual believers. Understand that no matter what adversity you face, God has this. It may not be the outcome you want, maybe it will. And thank God in barb yoder's case, it was exactly the outcome that we had all been praying for. She beat it, she is fit and healthy and ever smiling and a great presence in my life.

Doug Welcomes Stem Cell Expert Dr. Vincent Giampapa to the Show

"Today's gonna be a great episode. It's one that I've been fascinated now for a while and the things that we're gonna talk about aging stem cells, the advancements in technology, how we deal with our health and our bodies and it's just something that everybody deals with. We're all the time here talking about different issues on the Doug Collins podcast from politics to life to every day. And this one is one I've been excited about for years and as someone who has looked into it, look at how stem cells, the usage of them and also our in our bodies, how we can help make our bodies better. It's been something that I've always wanted to dive into deeper, but also have somebody that can actually be an expert on it in this today is exciting because we have doctor Vincent GM pop on. One of the leading experts in this field. He's been nominated for a Nobel peace, a Nobel Prize Peace Prize probably if he got this all right. But a Nobel Prize on his work, but also many patents, and just in an exciting kind of comment today, we're going to have a great time discussing this. So doctor Jim papa, welcome to the show. My pleasure, Doug, my pleasure. An amazing topic because the model of medicine today is a model that is antique and really can't handle what's going to happen in the immediate future. That is a growth of the aging population on a global basis. You know, today's model of medicine treats symptoms with medications, but not the origin of the diseases we all suffer as we get older. And stem cell therapies are one of the key ways in order to really make a major difference in people's health as we get older, quality of life. And can dramatically drop the cost of healthcare in the future too.

Brian Flores Files Discrimination Lawsuit Against NFL

"Most interesting story of the afternoon was Brian Flores. Late last afternoon on the West Coast. It's early evening on the east coast. I'm starting to do my show prep, and I see Brian Flores, who was head coach of the Miami Dolphins for a couple of years, has just unloaded on the NFL. Alleging discrimination against black coaches. And he shot at the NFL and his complaint, and he hit it, but he really took out Bill Belichick. Because Bill Belichick thought he was texting somebody other than Brian Flores. And he was texting, I think Brian did all telling him. Hey, the fix is in. Don't worry, there's the paraphrase I don't have in front of me. Don't worry, Brian, you've got this job, you're gonna get this job. They told me you've got the job. Good for you. You're gonna do great with a giant Brian Florence was in the about to head off to interview at New York Giants land. He had to go through a charade because of the Rooney rule. The Rooney rule requires that you hire at least one African American. You interview at least one African American for every opening for GM and head coach. I think that's the Rooney rule. Now the browns have actually lived by the Rooney rule. They had Hugh Jackson as their head coach. They got the amazing Andrew Barry, who's maybe the best GM in football, both black men who are great professionals. You didn't do so well. But but you can't pretend. And I think Brian Flores, we've got to payday

"We've got four to Panthers GM Billy zito. He's going to join us coming up shortly on the podcast man. Drake. They're the greatest show on ice right now. I mean after game, if you're a team struggling with generate generating offense and I don't, you know, not every team as a world class talent, the Florida Panthers have, but just watch. You know, just watch a period of how that team attacks. It's wave after wave after wave. Well, and just when you think you've got them figured out, mason marchment throws a 6 pointer up on the board. So while everyone's looking at uberto and barkov and duclair, for plus 6 for you, that's a pretty nice line. No kidding and I you know I'm looking at his contract $800,000 this year. And then he's an unrestricted free agent. So his timing is pretty good. Yeah, you know what though? You know, and you know we get into we'll get into it with Billy zito a little bit, but that's one of the things the Panthers have done really well is they found value contracts and made it work for them. You know, they everybody knew that Carter for Hague was close to being a good player. Well, they got him at a really reasonable price and he's given them two really good years. I do see some people saying, well, yeah, you know, but next year they're going to have to pay these guys. Well, that's fine. So maybe you can't. And they move on to another place, and that's where you're scouting has to be sharp because you got to replace them. Or you've got to draft well. And Matt Florida has got some just some exciting players to watch and man 8 goals on Columbus. It was in the second period in your life real. All right, well, Florida path. There's general manager Billy zito.

"At LinkedIn dot com slash advantage. That's LinkedIn dot com slash advantage to post your job for free. Terms and conditions apply. Yeah, definitely. That's a pretty good way of looking at it. Good good stuff here on the final app weekly with Quinn Howe. I don't know if you've ever seen the incident tracker at Toby Christi dot com. The conversation sparred from your Texas incident getting to pit road last year, that's actually what caused me. That was the catalyst of what started me tracking instance each week. A lot of people were critical of you and Brad Keselowski mentioned demoting drivers who were involved in a lot of bad accidents. Brett Griffin was very vocal about you specifically. The incident was bad, but I didn't see anything that weren't a demotion. Do you know where you fell on the list of drivers with incidents last season? It has to believe that Texas was my last incident and I should be one of the drivers of the viewers. Yeah, yeah, you are. So on the list, you have 27 ahead of you with more incidents, and you were tied for 28th with several other drivers with just 7 incidents last season. It's just something I found interesting with all the conversation about potential recklessness and your driving style being called into question. I just found that interesting. With the Texas and his family down a bonehead move, there was so many things that went wrong from communications standpoints and the mirror on the window net side falling off earlier in the race. And I was just put in a perfect storm to fail. And I failed. And it was a bonehead move, but however I came out and said that. And I was up front with that and I didn't try to hide from that. But at the same time, I know I'm not the first driver to have ever done that. And I'm not the last driver to have ever done that. It was just my job to take credit. For what I did wrong and go back to my theme and figure out what went wrong, you could make it never happened again. And that's what we did. And the fact that the media or other names went to come out at me, they're trying to make mistakes too. It's all human error. We're out here running 405 106 hundred mile races for 30 at least a year. Shot by side, you're going to have accident and I understand what being a rookie that you're going to get picked on a little more than others. On every little mistake you make. And I just have to kind of put that behind me. And being in the Cup Series you're on your own a spotlight or pedestal if you go that people are going to pick at you and that's just because you're one authority and you need to gain that respect and say that you belong. And that's what kind of strive for heading into the remainder of 2020 and I felt like we did a good job doing so. And that's what I kind of attitude ahead towards it going into 2021 as well. All right, Quinn, one last question with your new 8 ball whisky sponsorship. What activations do you guys have going forward? Will there be some sort of special Quinn half deal where if you finish in a certain finishing spot, fans will get a certain amount of the bottle like a discount or anything like that? You know, we're working on a lot of cool things with 8 ball as far as promos like that obviously we're going to have a bunch of cool apparel with the 8 ball logo. We're going to do some hero card giveaways. We're working on doing a deal where like we said if I finish in a certain position, we're going to try to help out some of the ease disabled racers and getting them the equipment they need to be able to race online. And we're just going to continue to add stuff in and grow as it becomes bigger. And I'm looking forward to going out west where they're based out of here. And meeting all the great team that they have and all the great places that they've already become very popular. And I think it's going to be very beneficial as they come across the U.S. to grow with me and be a part of my team and looking forward to seeing where the things take us. I mean, the sky is the limit. And it's just something that's refreshing to be able to have that support behind you to be able to have a company that believes in what we're doing. It's awesome just to see new companies come to the sport regardless. Quinn, good luck the rest of the season, and thank you so much for taking time out on the final app weekly. Yeah, appreciate it. I've been saying that. We got the magic 8 ball in the car hopefully we can turn our left around, but I appreciate you having me on. Like us at Facebook dot com slash the final lap. Like us..

"We use notion help or is the show now and it does flow. Pretty nice up well Can't like this. I could see some cool power in it. If i decide. I want to try it for campaign. I believe i need to say i'm going to use it for the entire campaign water now granted. That's like anything else. I thought halfway through at drove me bananas. I couldn't i couldn't use it. I had to quit and go back to my old way because it was causing a problem at the table is confusing myself from my players so i scrapped it If that happened no know. Sean knows how i would come back there or somebody else. In the forms or discord is using like pink coders using trello. Excuse me or the people are using facebook groups you know. I don't use facebook of that stuff if you're doing you're doing it successfully. How're you doing it. Asking other people who are are having good luck with it like folks. Our community is a good way to get tips and tricks because practice made perfect in some cases. But sometimes it's much easier to learn from somebody else's mistakes the bang your head in a law firm frontier campaign and you know feel like a fool type of thing cool. I'm i'm really curious to see what other tools people are using and There may be fine. I know there's a finite set that were we'll hear about by also know there's a ship stuff out there right in a I'm really more and more interested in the electronic app stuff. How how people are doing that in using the power there oh specifically shawn because what you just let off with at the beginning of all which i think is is quite honestly what has happened i i hope to god. That's something that As we hear wizards is planning the next big thing you know for the m really hoping that some form of improved electronic media so we can use some of these grape toolboxes in adventures in great things that people are producing more effectively. I love my books. I love looking at him on the on the shelf. Love reading them and so forth but man their game books are tough. They served so many master's all at once. They need to be readable. Need to be fun. They need to be instructional manuals. They need to have uber. This detail that detail but not too much. I'm like it's at such a tough nut to crack so anyway in the man. No no so folks less. Know how you're organizing yourself. How you keep yourself organized. Have you tried something that that is working for. You always want to hear about it and the other thing is As we like to hear about to earn things that aren't working like hey i tried. This didn't work. I found that this that and the other thing. Now it might. I'm not looking for to cash aamer dispersions on a failure but we're looking for is that again. Can we learned from that. And the other pieces that i may say. Something isn't working for me but you may hear that go. I think i can make that work for me though. Just brenton idiot doesn't mean i'm not stupid i could figure that out right but i think there's there's something to be learned both ups and downs on the stuff so if you've got any more input besides what we got from the discord steph german let us know shall we sir we shall. "I've had they been healthy. So i'm really looking forward to seeing it. I mean you have a full year with nate mcmillan now which the knock on him has always been that his teams don't have a high ceiling and he's got a team now that in some ways should have like a pretty limitless one given what they just accomplished like if this is their ceiling than it's really a shame because they accomplished it in the first year. So you know it's a team that plays a lot differently than eighteen. Nate mcmillan has ever had before. So i'm really looking forward to watching them play. They might knock on them before was it. They really didn't have much defense to speak of outside of cappella and this is not true when they're healthy when they're fully healthy so they've got some guys on the wings they've got a secondary creator and bogdonovich. Who's fantastic when he's at his best. They've got some depth to them. So i'm going to say the hawks. Yeah i love that. Pick cam reddish andy andrea sherr. Both like all defensive team tape of wings both ridiculous so we haven't really even seen Obviously those were hurt last year in the playoffs. And who knows how far they would have gone or even if it would have been helpful If they were healthy which is just a fun. Little thing to think about when you think about the hawks for me man. This is like a really difficult question. I have like four lake tied at the top. And i don't really know which one to pick but since we haven't mentioned them yet i'm just gonna go with the denver nuggets here okay. I love watching the denver. Nuggets like any other Rational basketball fan. I think just because of yokich and anything is possible on any play when he has the ball and he's just so much fun to watch and so unpredictable so precise and it's sublime so even though your mom. Marie is out his also one of my favorite just like blockbuster athletes who just like brings it in big moments There's a lot of other. You know really intriguing qualities to this team. I wanna see michael porter. Jr. this show. I wanna see him. Take a leap potentially or at least stabilized himself defensively and then take a leap offensively. Really interested see you know. Aaron gordon has a training camp. They're he can really embed himself with the system and hopefully maybe even he takes another little bit of a leap there. Which i think that you know. I'm sure they're hoping after they signed into that old is that man. What does he twenty. Seven twenty six thirty five thirty five extra. Look it up. Go ahead but yeah you have. Aaron gordon you have I think they have a solid bench. Oh my god. I just looked at gordon's h he just turned twenty. Six that is going to say is that he's he's he's a great example. One of those guys that you think has to be thirty. But i knew he was still in his mid to late and He just turned twenty six like literally just so he's young enough to do it and it's interesting because i remember feeling really disappointed watching their playoff run when they just needed something from somebody other than the o..

"Something like that. We don't is the honest answer. We haven't really spent much time on it. There's so much stuff on our plate right now you know coming off the draft in the trade deadline and now Positioning ourselves to continue to play. Well down the stretch that we really haven't spent that much time on it. Oftentimes those types of contractual situations tend to work themselves out shortly after the season ends. So i think i think to try to keep. Everyone involved focused on Playing deep into october right now and then we'll let we'll let that other stuff take care of itself later at and when do you guys start planning for you know things fun. Things like you know figuring out playoff rotations and scouting potential opponents. Those things already in the works or is of those things you kind of gearing up for now those are the things you try not to talk much about because we all wanna you know jake stang But no we will will start considering you know Advance scouting assignments for for different possible opponents moving forward and and talk about more than nuances of preparing team. Fr- october once once we get a little bit closer october and feel like we can. We can smell it a little more than we can right now. That's the fun stuff while we will be sure to to grill you about some of that stuff hopefully in late september or early. I even better early october. Thanks so much. Scott harris for joining us. "Now i was kind of making it sound like you get to just like rest and relax here. But that's actually not the case. You guys are getting a bunch of guys off the injured list which is fantastic. I'm in some ways Probably just as good as as a major trades with the names involved with stella longoria and belt but you are gonna have some really difficult roster moves to make. How are you guys approaching. All these moves to make both on the twenty five man and on the forty twelve twenty six twenty six man roster and the forty man. I think it is a sign of health for this organization You know though. Those decisions are very difficult and We spend a lot of time and energy thinking through them and thinking about what's going to put our our twenty six man in the best possible position to perform but at the end of the day It is a. It's a blessing to have those those challenges. It's it's Those are the types of decisions that you wanna have So one one thing. I'm looking forward to in the second. Half as you mentioned is getting the belts and longoria back. I think we already have a deep lineup. they're going to lengthen our lineup. Even more i was even talking about talking to brandon belt about some of the lineups. That cap was drawing up with with everyone when we're at full strength and so i'm personally really excited about watching us play at full strength The the other thing about you know who who's a sort of odd man out here I think one thing to remember is that you know if if you know. Reinstatement off the injured list. pushed someone back to sack There's a good chance that we're going to see him again. You know there's a good chance that your injury or underperformance or some other new unexpected dynamic forces them back into action in the big leagues and we. We've certainly had some some guys like jason bossa riding the the shuttle quite a bit so far in the first half but we have a great thing going in this organization in which you know the twenty six men who men who are up feel like they are well positioned to win every night but also the Roster players in sacramento. feel like. they're they're just a phone call away from from coming up and contributing in a big spot. At what my next question. Maybe you're foreshadowing a little bit. Because i was going to ask about You know there's always sort of this choice you in any other team house between. Do you try to maintain maximum roster flexibility and and when you make roster decisions You know try to us. Guys that have options rather than designating for assignment. What's the line sometimes between retaining maximum roster flexibility and potentially choosing a guy who has made me performed better but does have options. It's it's a factor. I think it's a very situation. Situationally specific You know we've we've often up it for both pass. So far and a handful of incision sometimes we will preserve A guy with without options who can contribute in other ways And and you know an optional player has to go down but also you know as we did recently when when we designated Mytalk men have gone. Have gone the other way so i think for us. The priority is winning here. The priority is building the best twenty six man roster to match up against You know an opposing starter. Every night and sometimes that does come into play as well sometimes are upcoming schedule and the opponents and starters at work facing will influence those decisions. If we have a string of lieutenant stars coming up or we have string a right handed started coming up. Sometimes that will affect the position playing core that we choose to keep at any decision point speaking of of talk men and getting him through waivers. Is there some sort of science to that. Like when to risk maybe a guy running a guy through waivers or not does it or is it always just a best guess we talk about the signs of it. I think we overestimate our our ability to read the signs out there. And i think we think we have more control than we actually do when it comes to getting a guy for waivers but specifically in talks case where we're excited that he got through waivers ninety six day giant. We're looking forward to him. Getting more bathroom sacked than he did in san francisco and getting back on track for us. Yeah i mean. He obviously contributed pretty significantly while he was in san francisco. Protect particularly defensively. Also been grand slam and It seemed to have some good clutch at bats. I know that he was working on things. Offensively how much more will he be able to do that. In that setting rather than trying to implement you know maybe some new things at the big league level. I think there are finite number of at bats that are available in the big leagues and I think we ran into a situation with mike in which A lot of those at bats were going to two other players who were performing very well So you know. Fortunately he'll be able to to get a lot more bats in sac and i think that'll help him You know locke's swing back in to help us. The other important consideration here is now that we're past the trade deadline. We have very few levers all to acquire players as talented as mytalk men. So it's a really big deal when a player like that gets through waivers or any any other player that you know may get through waivers in the future for us So we don't take that lightly and and his Our ability to to send him. Sacramento is an option for us. Moving forward is really important from a depth and upside samporn passing. Now there's about two months left in the regular season. What do you see as the keys for your team. Obviously built a little bit of a lead here in the national league west Very tough nationally league west and have had baseball's best record for quite a while here. How do you. How does this team maintain that hate to give the cliche answer but our number one priority. Right now is health. I think we if we stay healthy. We're gonna be pretty pretty darn good team down the stretch. And i i love the personalities that we have in the clubhouse. I i love The the even distribution of talent up and down our our roster. And i love how dynamic are our lineup is You know even when we face a starter who has one two three first inning. Feels like you just blink. And he's he's already at sixty three pitches in the third inning. Those we feel are are stable skills. That will continue as long as we stay healthy. So i think for us where we're focusing most on on staying healthy Managing the load on a lot of our players especially our veteran players down the stretch to keep them productive and just continuing to do some of the things that that got us. Here in verse lewis. Now there's more tough tough calls to make in the off season. I it's jumping way ahead and i think we talked about last time you were on on the podcast too. "Before mankind got so much as a sputnik into space, , we were already dreaming of what cars would look like on the moon and other planets and the one thousand nine, , hundred, , fifty s Collier's magazine profiled german-born American rocket scientists, , Verner von Braun full name and Verner Magnus. . Maximilian Freiherr von Braun. . and his Astro Utopian Masterplans for America to explore and colonize the galaxy. . The articles were here in one thousand, , nine, , hundred, , fifty style hype with scenes featuring the swaggering title man will conquer space soon. . So soon, , one of the articles imagined moon exploration that made use of free surface vehicles quote tank like cars equipped with Caterpillar Treads for mobility over the Moon's rough surface power is provided by an enclosed turbine driven by a combustion of hydrogen peroxide and fuel. Oil . The vehicle was twenty five miles an hour on flat ground. . Since gravity on the moon was only one eighth of that on Earth von Braun poetically pictured the space cars would be followed by a quote spray of dust, , which settles almost immediately like a bow wave on a motorboat. . That's pretty that's cool image that's visual to imagine the tractors. . Each weighing ten tons would drag three trailers, , a piece of gear and personnel in preparation for a six-week expiration involving fifty crew members. . Crazy I love this sort of like blue sky kind of speculation. . Yeah that's why Popular Science was one of my favorite magazines as a kid 'cause they always had like crazy tack on the cover and like all this speculation as to what it would be able to do and I don't think much of that has come to fruition. . Maybe maybe less impressive but equally important ways. . I. . There is a shift in what we focused on and now much of the focus of technologies just collecting our data. . So we can. . That's a fair point. . He sold things. . It's like we're not focused on like space cars or. . Travel are like we don't have like a passenger jet that breaks the speed of sound anymore but. . They know what adds to give me and they know how how often I leave my house? ? Yeah. . I keep getting served ads for crocs. . I've been looking at them. . I would I. . I love him. . I love mine. . I had served that I really agree with because I was a hold out for a long time and I was like crops are dumb and then once I finally gave in to crocs, , it was one of the best days. . So yeah, , there's a the the six week exploration involving crew members. . That's a lot of dudes. . Like like. . I've mentioned going to space before and like like it's always three people you know. . Let's what it feels like. . It'll be sick to be up in space with fifty people. . That'd be more. . More, , fun. I . think there's a lot of that like there's like a a segment of sci-fi where it's like there's only four people in the space craft in one of them is a killer. . Yeah. . But like I feel that scenario would be a lot harder to posit when there's fifty people. . That isn't that the premise of Jason X. where he goes to space I it sounds like something that would do. . Yeah. . They'd. . Like they're like. . I think it's the guy with. . Hockey masks. . Eight foot tall. . Can't be too sure. . Don't want to jump to any conclusion. . Anyway an article in the series entitled Can we get to Mars imagine a similar scenario with tank like space tractors that would drive the living quarters on the surface of Mars this time traveling from a pole of the planet, , all the way to the equator. . "There's still four games out whereas the wizards and the Hawks people thought they were going to be amongst the worst teams in the League so even though John Collins without suspended and the hawks are one of the two worst teams in the league. It's fine because trae young's doing it all on him on his own Bradley beal sort of the same thing except for he was the one who missed a bunch of time but with bringing in bringing in fat young. Jim Boylan locking down that contract. Everybody thought this team should be a playoff team. Gay have fallen short of expectations. Sins but it really hasn't been at least offensively. Zach Levine. He's carrying just as big of a load as young as and he's just as bad on defense as those guys I mean. Like if you compare. Zach Levine this year to Kemba Walker last year. WHO's making the All Star game in Charlotte and again it's in Chicago? Maybe that helps Mark Levin Chances and he also did the whole thing. You know you get me. There might go in the duck smart move by him but chemists Hornets sub five hundred team last year at you no before being selected and he was averaging twenty five four and six before the All Star game shooting forty three percent of the floor thirty six percent from three thirty one point to we use a drink. I mean Campbell. Was the Hornets offensively. Yeah Zach Levine is averaging basically the same and he's doing it more efficiently efficiently twenty five five and four forty four from the floor forty from three an identical usage percent to be. I know I know it's year two years so it's like well. There's different guys now but I think if bill's name is being thrown in there and to some extent even trae young although again I do think he'll start. Zach Levine has to be included in that bunch. I don't see why isn't it. It's hard to you. SORTA splitting hairs a little bit. Serve them. It's it's almost down to. which do you think is perhaps better for his team has been better free team? This season has has Levin being better than deals being for the wizards or as bill being better for the wizards and Levin. It's I mean you know. Six of one half dozen the other to be honest I north of them have really stood out but have also been veterans. Who On on teams where there's not a lot of scoring? They're the ones who get the opportunities but it's not. It's not a great race to be for the really because Ah if one of them gets okay yep show it no one. No one's exactly Running Away with that prize now. No you're right. But we'll a CO yeah and we'll the coaches select a Levin or a beal over a simmons or Brogden guys on better teams. Maybe obviously not scoring. Oh put or like Jalen Brown uneven or the lowery that comes up guys on better teams that maybe impact winning more or they have but don't have the numbers of a billion. That's why it probably comes down to Beland. Ellen Levine. Like you're saying young is GONNA be starting. It's going to be one of the two. I would imagine bill. Levin Beale has the pedigree. He's already been there. But maybe Zach Levine. Say and I'll be in the. Don't let me play the game. Perhaps that helps because I do think coaches probably value the winners more. So like Malcolm Brogdon. Kyle lowry Ben. Simmons probably are ahead head of Levin in the pecking order. I think that is true. All right let's take a quick break here. Lots more Silva calm but this one presented by draftkings..

"I was basically saying no specialization should be for the offense you want that guy like ready to come in and just light it up from behind the arc, but maybe you're right. Maybe Thursday is you bring the guy on who's a defensive, you know guy who like an alter the rhythm of the other team and shut down so many they need him to do that might actually be more interesting that might end up leading to Reddick starting off and then you know, he probably maybe Reddick only plays like the 24 minutes of game, you know, when he starts and he gets his two runs in the first and third quarter and then he maybe finishes or whatever but then they give give ball a lot of the minutes in between even and stuff like that that could be the solution to I guess you that, you know, and then for the bench rotation, they have Josh Hart e'twaun Moore Darius Miller. I thought was looking pretty nice and Cameron Williams. I thought was pretty nice. I think we're both fans of hit of those guys, right? So, you know, they've got they've so much guard depth. That's insane. And then Frank Jackson look pretty solid at summer league, so maybe he'll get some rub. And then it's not that deep though. Dinner offer was a midsummer league. So they've got like just they're absolutely stacked at the basically like the guard slash Wing position and then took all they have four big depth is Okafor and jaxson Hayes, so they don't really have there's not much of like an in-between as far as like guys that are kind of in the Zion slash Ingram, you know, I called to back those guys up so they have to go really small whenever they go to the bench and that makes me think having Lonzo coming off the bench with his defensive prowess in his ability to handle that makes a lot more sense when you can surround on with some of these other guys that are good Defenders, I hear you. Yeah, I think I now more a big about the more you're right probably in the more if you want to get the most out of reading it sounds like you start them and then figure that out from there and I just feel like the Sixers gave they gave too much for 4matic to do we had a dribble2much he dead..

"Well, we know that but that's an interesting issue and then they throw Boogie out their home, then you're going to have to put you know, my goodness who's a big Center what to bots Zumba Zumba watsapp yard, Boogie which you know might not be Horrible, you know, I don't know. I'm not feeling it's going to be you can get destroyed but it might not be great. So it's interesting cuz you have both teams seem to have certain areas where they can hurt the other team and then it comes down to the other role players. So now you're talking about like what's Patrick Beverley going to be able do and versus you know, what's Danny Green going to do and I don't know I kind of still feel like the Clippers have or have that, you know, Landry Landry shamet Landry shamet. Thank you, you know, they might have a better overall team and pieces that fit together and that's probably what I would need be right now to say. Oh the Clippers will still have the advantage over all but it's it's really fascinating. Yeah. I mean the Clippers depth is maybe the best in the NBA which is why it's a so remarkable They just added, you know arguably the two best wings in the NBA last year. So yeah, and it's what I love about that matchup so much like you're saying wage This is a very much a battle. It's it's fire meeting fire with these two teams, you know, these two teams do not match up evenly. They're two very distinctive combinations of lineups. They're the you know, the Clippers presumed you're going to be a small team. I mean they of course could put Harrell at the for what they need to also if they need that's how they want to counter. Yeah the big with the Lakers or they can be used for Michael Green. They tended to do that and keep Harold coming off the bench. So like they you know, the Clippers can match up with the Lakers while the Lakers would definitely struggle to match up with the clippers. But I just I'm hoping that these two teams are not going to try match up well against each other they're just going to go with their primary lineups and just see how you know, see how the post-battle for the Lakers compares to the fluidity and playmaking the Clippers have it's going to it's probably to be I mean, it's a good chance. These are the two best teams in the NBA for everything that we've said about the Sixers in Bucks probably getting better, you know the dog And in Houston, I mean who the hell knows Houston is a giant crab shoot and they might have the blow that entire team up and then yeah, of course Denver and Utah who are our two favorite sleeper picks, but the Lakers and wage is just seemed so combustible. There's just so much. They the way that Warriors give you that feeling of when they're on the floor the last couple of years..
