But we still got some headaches We've got backup says matter of fact, back all the way to 84 Street from the zoo into downtown. So we're seeing backups from about 25th Street all the way through the stadium interchange. We are up to about 13 minutes. There's an extra six. Now on 43 94 north bound. We do have an issue at the Mitchell Interchange. Er, it was an accident reported through that area. So if you do have some taps on the brakes setting through there, just keep that in mind, But at this point our travel times you're still looking pretty good on the North bound side South found. We did have that earlier. Car fire or vehicle fire at Howard Avenue does have Layton Avenue you're looking at about a minute ride. North found 43 just heavy ride there. "AT W. T. M. J. There are no losers. Just non winners. And you are today's non winter chill. You're a good sport. Thanks, buddy. Appreciate it, guys. One more guys don't do that. You don't have to be a good runner to drop a buck. You should think about going up. I mean, that's why you got the third baseman plan back on you and anybody with a decent speed is Lisa. If you're not having a real good speed, and you're trying to bump for baseship on the guy who picks the ball up, tagged you out. You stop. That's the end of that batch in So did the third baseman used to play deep when you hit play, deepened and tag me out, but that's not really good. No I've assisted on a bunt attempt. I go in the first. It's another five unassisted workers out on us or the brains. There's a ball downstairs Kennel Smothers. Five on assistant, another five assistant. That's a ball running up along third and third baseman picks it up and chases you first used to always try to knock my hat off. So it looked like I was really moving, but it never helped. For five now, Eric for five. Can you put that on the your record? Okay, well, let me write it down and make sure everybody knows that's almost 500. You know what I was thinking. Tomorrow..

But finding a mouse nest in an A C is a daily occurrence for an A C guru. I don't know if they get bored, hungry Earth wire insulation just tastes good. But over the winter, these traitors goto work skinning the insulation off of the wires inside your air conditioner. Wires are insulated to keep them from touching one another, because when wires touch wires, they're not supposed to fly and things fry with that dry, fluffy, tender field, mouse bed, national round all the wires and you're a sea. We want to avoid sparks at all costs. And that's really why you should have your A C tuned up every year, regardless of its age, or how much you use it, and that tune up should be performed by a polar express athe guru. Grocery sales of sword is cooking at home remains the new normal amid a surgeon Corona virus Infections Journal Sandal doing a story that just dropped a few moments to go online. They say panic buying is gone. But sales rates remain steady, with mid July numbers tapping those that they usually see During the holidays at the end of the year, prices stabilizing as well as supply chain settle down, But the new co bit Spike has everyone wondering what's next for the industry? They had a one local chain, telling the paper that while buying did level ofthe basket sizes, how much people is buying it, each trip to the store that's still larger than average showing that people are hunkering down at home. Even a stay at home orders or being lifted. And also they're making for your trip. So when you go, you buy more. Are you guys fighting that to be the case amongst yourselves? Yeah. So we only go Like once every two weeks or so, and we have a total list and I just go off the list that we like planet had our meals and you know part of the story. I was reading in a little bit earlier. It makes total sense. People just aren't eating out as much. So you're making more meals at home. You're just eating a lot more at home and at least in our household. That's definitely true. Yeah, no, I I used to be like, three times a week. Grocery person like I just like to go when I'm motivated, or I'm inspired to do something. But no, I've cut down on shopping a lot, because I just not that fun to go anymore. Yeah, it's not a pleasant It's okay. But it's not what it used to be. If I don't have to wear a mask, I would choose not to wear 14 times a week. So I think that that kind of plays into it a little bit. There's little more. I don't know. Pressure filled when you go. I don't know if anyone else feels that. You just think you know, the whole experience is just like a smidge more stressful. You know, you're always looking at the other people in store going, Okay, Stay away from me. I'll have to stop to let you pass. It's just It's not fun to do, And sometimes I used to enjoy that. It's just not the case, and you know, and the other thing they say they're noticing people buy more fresh stuff. "And the great books and pumps tires thanks to all those partners great partners that we have here at W. T. M. J. I mentioned before I what's a break so I talked about this the other day in in the aspect of why do people seem to want to still travel and I get to one of the you know callers reminded me that there's some people that they have to travel for whether it's public safety reasons or some of the other official governmental functions I get that but I continue to see and hear ads for cruise companies airlines and I'm wondering why in the world when she reviews those resources to bale yourselves outs in the midst of this crisis and it's a real crisis in your I know you're feeling it and I feel bad for flight attendants I know a bunch of them there's a travel out for work this is a tough time some of them you are still find some arts and there's nobody on these planes except for the few people that are somewhat surprisingly still choosing to fly around nine I know those deals out there to get that drives some people and motivate some people still travel for the life of me I cannot figure out why a cruise company that I get to work I had a new work until next year I get all that but it seems a little tone deaf to me that I see ads coming into my email almost every day from company like Norwegian cruise line's version cruise lines when I see the stories that brought up against those where there are cruise ships at this moment in our world there are essentially floating prisons because the people can't get off they can't dock anywhere and on the case in the case of one ship there's people that are dead on the ship there's other people that are now sick with covert nineteen that's the best way you can utilize your resources you're telling us you're losing money but you're still pumping out has not get some of the stuff is paid for ahead of time again how works but it seems to me that the timing of it is probably as horrible as you could as you would think I'm just curious from a from a listener perspective is this going to impact your decisions on travel long term not short term we yeah we don't we don't advices stay home again unless you absolutely have to but long term are you still going to go to Italy let's say a year from now I have a trip planned this fall I have no idea at this moment whether my wife and I are gonna be going to Italy or Greece or Turkey or the island of Sicily I have no idea if that's going to happen and to be completely honest I'm not sure that I would want to go given where we're at right now the things could change quickly and although I have to do to change that quickly just curious eight five five six one six one six twenty second mortgage talking tax I only got a few minutes but it is going to change your plans in the future will you reach us we try to travel more in the United States North America perhaps we don't have to leave the continent I'm just curious what people think about that I don't get it enter the cruise companies and this is one of those things that drives me nuts they all have off shore designations right they all registered for it as for companies that want to pay taxes here we have there now asking US taxpayers to bail them out not gonna happen shouldn't happen it's unfortunate maybe need to make better decisions quick break back after that.

"Cloudy on Tuesday with a high of forty four and Wednesday cloud cloudy with a mix of rain and snow in forty two to twenty eight degrees at W. T. M. J. this is the fix it show on the anti Clinton Tom faces here Jim and Lee Taylor from Westmont that gives center here Hey do all sorts of really really nice vacuum so must frustrate you guys I'm gonna guess that you see that the former great names like a Hoover that's been sold probably cut a couple of times right it's just not the same no not a same via no they went to more the big box stores you know I guess that's fine and dandy but we just you know our stories we all offer service and that's something that no those vacuum cleaners are all throwaway and we don't want throw a vacuum cleaners in the shop so what what what do you what's the answer when somebody goes I can't believe this vacuum is as much well back to back in the you know back in the eighties and not even the nineties we had sent your vacuum cleaners that were you know all three for five hundred dollars things have gone up I mean look at vehicles you know nowadays people you know what the the Percy years ago they spent about twenty or thirty grand for a vehicle either fifty or sixty yeah it's the same scenario vacuum cleaners of good quality machine is more money but it's going to last a lot longer you're gonna get ten fifteen twenty years out of our products yeah you know where instead of I mean do you go to the department store and buy a toaster every couple years probably not like what you do with a vacuum cleaner why you used to be able to serves that would last for twenty years you don't have all rough is it really so I mean the answer almost as what number one this is not junk and yeah there's a lot of junk out there number two do you want to replace this thing every you know four years ago do the math right right plus it's all good they work for your carpeting they keep you know you spend you know ten fifteen thousand dollars on carpeting or bare floor and we have vacuums at fit bowls you spend that kind of money on floors you want a vacuum that's not gonna leave dirt in it it's not going to ruin your floors the quality of these things you're you're spending them for you know not much money for how long they last it's probably going to last you longer than just about anything in your home when you buy something of this quality yeah yeah okay but said the Hartland Hey Steve good morning good morning Hey I currently have a new tone center back system okay and I noticed that you sell three different brands of central backs what's the difference between the aisles well what qualities can be a one of them for sure you know warranty power a lot of companies come out with all I can say let's say six hundred or what machine seven hundred or one they usually did pretty much picked out to that but when it comes down to like say we sell easy floor cycle of our brands are a little higher and they got better motors and they make changes to the good not to bad you know so not to downgrade new tone they went through some changes because they have to they have some stuff out there that just wasn't holding up and their new stuff we just never got into my I don't want to go down that road again does that answer your question yeah so which ones are the quietest the quietest ones are going to be either easy flow or cycle of act you can pretty much data next term nowadays or years ago you'd stand away from it and all the covers that you can hold a conversation stand next to it yeah yeah well my current one you can't hold a conversation actually yeah right yeah I believe that and can you retrofit I mean put a new power unit on the existing central bank system yes absolutely Californians are pretty much the same to ensure that all even in wall set up work yeah we can see I would need to change it out no problem at all yeah we take yours off the wall and put ours on I'm just we have to change the pipes are right at the base of the unit and that's it that's pretty some pretty fast switch out yeah you know what they are noble power our outlets can those be are those are universal yes they are yeah yeah you you would have to if yours have yeah one ten in them that's pretty universal and the ones that are just low voltage that's again those can be changed as well if you need new ones but that's all university house okay yeah it's pretty simple I appreciate that all right the guy is the boys from west wing back in center are here he listened next weekend is the west bend area chamber of home show at Washington County fair park you guys gonna be up there up there or in phone booths three hundred three oh one when you walk in the door but that's going to be going on March thirteenth fourteenth and fifteenth of next week and you're gonna find a lot of vendors it's a lot of local people that are in the show but will have sales will have a lot of vacuums and are both love central accent up so you can see him try him out we have the rug there you can try everything out and see what see what it does to people coming there like show me the sorcery you speak of right amazing that yeah the other world all right from the carpet to the floor will show me the whole double and they can see for themselves what kind of product that we have that's cool DOT website west bend vacuum dot com back with the guys in a bit on the fix.

J. all of us who have anything on the market writer waiting for that Venus said and you know once the craters the other of the on the left the right side to start picking up the right side and pick it up yet no I don't think we've seen pick up first of all good morning Jean Pritchett you having me on this morning yeah we haven't seen that doesn't look like we're going to see it first thing out of the gate this morning with the market looking like it may be down again just continuing some of the volatility that we had last week Brian we always hear that investing is a long term strategy but for people who might be close to retirement what is your suggestion that they should do yeah I think that the most important thing when things like this happen is to just keep the move that we've had in the last really just seven trading sessions and some contacts so if you look at where we are today we're really back to where we were last October and I think it back then we were talking about the fact that we were starting to see some better news on trade some better news out of Europe and some perspective that maybe we'd see better growth and twenty twenty and it looks like that got sidelined as a result of the virus so when you think about where we are we really just eliminated the rally that we've had since the beginning of October last year Johnson financial group chief investment officer right Andrew joining us live on WTMJ so someone is close to retirement age at what point do they maybe start considering even a minor selloff toward something safer even you know the the old gold refuge yeah I do think about someone who's approaching retirement the biggest question for people as well what do I do to make sure that I generate the income that I need in retirement and you have to be a little careful in the current environment one of the things which happened recently is that interest rates have dropped dramatically so the yield on the ten year treasury as an example is down under one point one percent so it's down almost eight tenths of a percent from the beginning of the year so you've got to maintain that kind of investments that will produce growth and not just income that you're entering retirement Brian how do you encourage people to not pull their money out of the market and put it somewhere nice and somewhere nice and safe and snuggly everybody loves safe in snugly but I think the most important thing when you're thinking about investing as you said earlier it is a long game and volatility is just part of being in the market on a regular basis but you know you have to keep that perspective in mind that that you think about quarters and years and longer periods of time if you look at where we are and this is including the sell off that we've had in the last week the average return for the stock market over the last five years is still close to eight and a half percent on an annual basis and sell over longer periods of time the market delivers that kind of growth that you need to be able to have money grow faster than the rate of inflation right and who is the chief investment officer Johnson financial group joining us on WTMJ guessing nothing else this reinforces the west and that Ford visitors of all ages this is a global economy and when China sneezes the rest of the world sometimes gets a cold well you know I think that's the one thing that will take away from what happened here and that is that you know people have compared the corona virus situation to stars back in two thousand three which was also a respiratory virus but what we need to recognize is that China is now the second largest economy in the world and it's twenty five percent of not only the global economy but what people expect in terms of growth and it looks like China may actually see no growth in the first quarter of twenty twenty and that has a much bigger impact on the rest of the world and it did back in two thousand three Johnson financial group chief investment officer Brian Andrew live on WTMJ always appreciate the time Sir yeah thank you very much.

"About that the it's the fix it Sean W. T. M. J. the phone lines are open are accurate mortgage talking text line at eight five five six one six one six twenty what's going on with your house is Thomas pointed out the wet season is coming in your sump pumps will need to be in great operating condition so we'll talk about that a little bit but we did get a text question for you Tom good morning I'm contemplating refinishing the pine floor boards in my ninety year old home in your opinion what type of floor Sander is the most efficient and easiest to use and user polyurethane finish that you recommend so let's talk about the center floor I can give you some basics on that that's there's variables involved so it might be better if you call then we can talk through it but what is the current finish on the floor you plan on removing that's part of the question and what's the condition of the current floor sofa scratched up in garbage dump or maybe removing paint or maybe removing some big stained areas then you need to do a more aggressive sanding in that case I personally would rent a belt Sander a large belt Sander specifically designed for flooring and they also then rent a random orbital circular center that you can cut and the edges and corners with that would be the best fastest quickest if you need to do an aggressive sanding if you don't have to do an aggressive sanding and you just need to run for up to finish then I probably look at random orbital Sander and just just popped up and and put a new coat of whatever's on the finish floor right now and cold on the top as far as a floor finish if you're going to stand down to bare finish I would buy a water borne polyurethane that's what I would buy and because of low order they dry quickly to cosign within the same day and be done and for something like that I go home and Lindsay or Sharon Williams and buy the best floor finish that they sell but a water base he's pretty much industry standard now that all being said I think I probably hire somebody for six months before if it's of any size and if your wife isn't an easy thing to goof up if you let the Sanders yeah yeah yeah you don't want to go set up now I personally have done that on a maple floor they didn't need a lot of sandy but just some light sanding and it turned out just fine but she the quickness hard operate you need to know what you're doing a need to be very careful because you can Mr floor up also so that might be some you get a professional to do all right let's head to the northwest side Hey Rick what's up no yes warning German born Tom most of them were under question regarding a glass block windows I'm I'm I'm getting rid of my ancient wooden office and windows yes and on and on a moment glass box and off and on I'm I'm kind of wondering whether some people want to use the office of government are the mortar R. in the box ask and some people want to use what's called our outlook hot glue or silicone yes walk yeah it's still you know they still have a mortar original hold block in in back in the window casement window itself open upon all the wood and then they ended this box could be sent in the in the water what what what is more comfortable the so called in between the glass block or the or the or the arm R. O. well the motor models in in the job are you and what you get now Rick is your you by a panel of the block is all laid up and put together as a panel right you're putting this out there making him up yeah that's a big accomplishment yeah they may come up and then you set the panel in place into multiple pieces of glass block and then that's mortared in place around the outer edges in between the glass box when they make those up I guess I'm an old guy because I like the old way of doing it mortar is preferable to me between the glass block but I could discount a combination of mortar and silicone either it may not be the worst thing if that's how they do that so I get I get a couple opinions and then I guess the V. an old guy who's know that mortar always worked in the past I'd I tend to lean towards mortar between the glass block and then what Kwikset panel used to be the company that would manufacture those and install those I don't know if they're still out there or not quick set gold award I was looking for the girl that they put I don't know his name he also called on it and I some people say the ground dries out and start shipping weight falling away yeah and that so called won't do that so your old school saying that you would probably drop yourself worker I'm a growth guy it was a grout and mortar are very close to each other a grout is of a cement base with Sam a product in a mortar is the same thing it just depends on the mixture so that's a similar product and they were uses silicone twenty thirty years ago they started using the silicone product of space tomorrow but it just didn't seem as strong to me and but I haven't looked at that for at least if at least ten years as I looked at in any detail and maybe even twenty years since I looked at the details so I wouldn't totally discount the silicone ones but being all guide lean towards the ground just because it always works kick it old school so anyway rex are you going to research a little bit more yourself too hard some forty we're gonna take a break Eric Jim standby guys we're gonna get to you Jim has a question about sump pumps we're gonna talk a little bit about some pumps because it's coming into a wet basement seasons will cover that on the fix it show you are welcome to join us on the Acura mortgage talking text line at eight five five six one six one six twenty.

"Up about five blocks from here yeah so anyway just thought I'd mention at seven sixteen at W. T. M. J. thirty two degrees let's see let's catch up on a couple of things got a winter weather advisory till nine for Dodge Jefferson Waukesha Walworth Racine and Kenosha county so we got snow overnight it's pretty heavy I mean it's not much but it's heavy Connie is a mass yeah ours a road what if I can and do more walking because it's a lot better scanner snow this morning flurries afternoon thirty six traffic wise west one ninety four AT T. T. like tango two right lanes are blocked with one ninety four F. F. like foxtrot the right shoulder there's a vehicle and over the Madison area eighteen east and west the shut down because of a major incident over there so if you're heading that way that is what's going on so let's go to new Berlin that's for Caroline is he Caroline good morning good morning I have a profit in my bathtub that no longer will give me hot water only slightly warm what has to be done is it a single handle controller to handle control is single so somewhere in there cartridge there's a problem so with the single handle there's we call it a cartridge but it is an insert that fits in there and it controls the water and it's sometimes is more like a ball sometimes it's like a cylinder and as you move the control handle up and down it aligns the sports and allows cold water to flow or hot water flow so probably that needs to get rebuilt or replace the cartridge and her and Carol did this happen kinda like all of a sudden it just quit working no no just kind of gradually continues to have hot water okay now thank you I'm assuming you have hot water to sink yes okay so the problem isn't supply to that area the problems in the control panel so something's not aligned others injured in it or something loosened up is so it's a pretty easy job yeah we turn the water off I think I coach Danny how to do this once you turn the one he said I forgot to jump into the water on he forgot to tell me to turn the water off so could you turn the water off and and below that handles a roundish not that she really almost come off by hand and then the whole some rooms are I mean if you're not mechanical don't try it because you know our will work in any of the you know so it's a plumber it's a plumber type job and then you clean out the housing a little bit and replace some pages replace the washers in there but something to replace the whole assembly and you need to get parts arm so he went to someplace like plumbing parts plus quite honestly took a picture of it think of the plumbing parts plus say here's what I got and they could give you depart pulled all have right there in the store cool thank you Carolyn let's get to Bob real quick Bob's in the fall see Bob good morning how are you right I have a Honeywell humidifiers although my first book three years ago this you're fired up it seems like the water control does not stop the water when you reach a certain dignity interest on slaughter leaked out of the house not just the overflow too but all out of the house is that not shut off no one right who that's a problem you don't want that water pouring down on your furnace yeah yeah there's a little solenoid valve in there that would turn the water off in response to the controls so somewhere you've got a humid a staff control that you separate certain humidity level right and yeah yeah that might be in the dock work or that might be up in the living space and then that runs a little low voltage solenoid valve it's so you generally you can just pop the cover off of those and take a look inside and see what's going on but you said it's like overflowing the drain line to alright Sir yeah and I am off to cover up and while the furnaces running calling metro humidity it seems that the water all never shuts off those ones those are the elements is completely saturated just continues to dump water well and it leaked out of housing not just the great okay so there's something else wrong with it too I'm a call for humidification it should dribble water across the top keep it constantly wet in the unit should drain water constantly when it's humidify it sounds to me like you got too high of a volleyball water or it's not get directed to the right spot on the humidifier so I also would check the drain line to make sure the drain line not is it partially blocked on real world okay then there's it's not more yeah if I just take the water supply back I try that yeah to start just drink there is supplying way too much water to the system for some reason so a hundred Bucks fire you know with only two accords all yeah well did you try turning the humana stat often zone a shot at Waterloo and it works well when it's not calling three humidity everything's wonderful but as soon as it starts calling for humidity this thing will not regulate the amount of water on but not of the elements yeah.

"This is the play by play podcast with me later on W. T. M. J. we welcome into the second week in a row of our teachers Westwood One it will be on the sidelines Sunday late afternoon as the Packers owes the Seahawks in the NFC divisional round of the postseason before we get into the games themselves will way we hear it back to our days a pro football weekly let's talk a little bit about what you your thoughts on the cowboys in the hiring of of Mike McCarthy well you know it was obvious to me that the best candidates for these five jobs were Ron Rivera bike the cart yeah but you're talking about to NFL coaches of the year who have taken teams to super balls are waiting for however things may have ended in Green Bay of whatever went out between Evan Rogers his record speaks for itself one of the most successful head coaches cowboys need that kind of credibility for that job they need that kind of stability they needed another offense oriented culture because that's where the strength of that football team there yeah from the cowboys perspective I think it takes all of the world now the bond market because you I want to work with your you don't have to strain potential anti cancer issues the chase in your head no probably not you know but I also don't understand why Ron Rivera was working day and night when you love the job so I think that may be a because he's Casey you're away from the game I know you talked about modernizing his taking them and studying what's current but also will find a way and all you want to coach again yellowing of those only thirty to the job you doctors only comes along once in awhile so I'm sure you realize that that he did a one the more difficult situations because gel trace laughing and joking going to consistently cause problems along the way what is a good enough coach that obviously he was comfortable that you can overcome that and he does have many believe the last year that he can win right away what I still think that sounds a little over rated especially out detox but certainly without that wind and you shall yet we assume that they'll get that cross got got a look out you've got a chance to come and pick it up right away yeah I think you're right in many respects it'll be interesting to see you know Dallas was always best when they were running the football and I understand they have dak Prescott but they also got Ezekiel Elliott will be interesting to see if Mike is ever able to what kind of match his offense to that strength that you know that Dallas has there and and blend it with his passing game it'll be very interesting to see yeah I think the key way certainly that Prescott is nowhere Rogers but he has at times been a very good winning quarterback you can have a dynamic what exactly like is the Galliera Kerik Henry and you could win a lot of games that way now playing defense gave that up well you don't have one of those top quarterbacks and you can't go out and win a game throwing the football your your doctor to get to a Superbowl ad so I think I I did that off of the wind what one the cards the what they do with their class got a majority yes when a quarterback going coming up from the play by play podcast with when Larry W.
