"Other W. L. W. what better day lately our also deceive is what's worth seeing on TV over the weekend in a row has pretty nice to be outside but you know the movie theaters on open so are fat guy at the movies Kevin Kerr let us know what might be worth checking out but meanwhile just keep an eye on who's riding where who's burning what down and I was sitting here reading the Minneapolis Star Tribune you get the local look we don't know what the street names are and all that but there was a lot more going on than necessarily seen the national mood that's one who takes the news takes the broader perspective Minneapolis Saint Paul the Twin Cities as we know same polls across the river and take a look at Saint Paul they figure about a hundred and seventy businesses have been burned or looted by about one hundred seventy buildings vandalized or damaged by fire by night and last night I want guys by the spot it's national boulder into an ATM at big top liquors one thirty five PM a block from it doesn't matter where it is from the stadium the guy pulled out a gun and started shooting and then and then another shot one guy how the new black car got away the estimate ninety percent of businesses had been looted in this one area by evening and nearby napa auto parts that they had all the parts stores up there apparently I have been set on fire the napa store did a metro transit suspended all bus and light rail service through the entire weekend target ordered twenty four area stores to close until further notice we're struck parts of the Twin Cities had the feel of a cat and mouse game as police arrived he would simply disperse them pop up somewhere else and start another fire please from the barricade in front of one target store but no officers were of the TJ Max store a block away Saluda smashed the door there and fled with shoes and clothing piled onto shopping carts minutes of free for all people just grabbing whatever they want I just don't know why in some cases we allow looting to go on riding alluding to go on for a day or two and even here to go back to our little mini riot worthy pretty much of the same dumpster on fire you know for days after about a day and a half two days finally Charlie Luken was the mayor and he came out of that's enough knock it off and I agree with that stance but I would have taken about a day and a half earlier I don't know why we give people leeway to burn things down and steal for a while and then tell them to stop I mean as soon as you know you you have protests forming the word should go out right then this is a legal protest you're doing fine anything else goes wrong and all bets are off I don't know why people allow this to happen not to the degree that we do and I want to start popping up in other cities and it's just an excuse I mean in Columbus I'm if you're in Columbus and you had a you know a look at exactly what was transpiring over the course of last night something starts off I guess is noticeable protests and then people see free stuff they want or something of what a break or something they want to set on fire and in any other city me low level and it is the weekend so maybe some board people elsewhere will decide to jump on board and do the same thing I mean this is a lot over a death like I said in particular where everybody's on the same page there's no group of people over here standing up for the cop well this group over here is standing up for the victim everybody says that basically was a murder on TV you're not trying to persuade anyone so what is the purpose of all this except to steal and watch things burn down because I guess you're bored not making any new TV shows movie theaters are closed got to do something and no one's practicing social distancing in any of this nonsense it's just that it amazes me it is driving time we got to get that into the picture and Scott Bradley.

"Checking out here they're from the beach in Naples I guess over the weekend I decided so many people showed up is like the fourth of July we got a shot this beach down so they did that's one of those are every time you see a a photo taken from ground level often with the zoom it looks like people are packed together what is either a helicopter or a drone shot flying along the beach from above and these people are not packed together when they closed the beach from where I sit for no reason it's pretty obvious people is sitting as families or as couples whether in the water as families or as couples and their distant from each other and as they fly down the beach is like one group of like six young women standing together talking and they zoom in on like look here's six people talking not practicing social distancing everybody else on the beach is pretty much doing exactly what they're expected to do and they shut down the shut down beach open for one day the plan was okay the beaches but after one day they shut it down the books and point is I put it on the blog you can see for yourselves it's not problematic people go overboard with this stuff so that it more my paid seven hundred W. "Tomorrow high around ninety we're sitting at seventy two degrees under cloudy skies a news radio twelve hundred W. L. A. I. the number of coronavirus cases continues to climb in their county San Antonio mayor Ron Nirenberg says our cities pretty good shape at least when it comes to available hospital beds we have over two thousand beds available which is more than forty three percent of all staffed hospital beds in their county this is a result of hospitals cancelling elective procedures natural health meanwhile says there are five hundred fifty four confirmed cases of the virus in our county twenty deaths now being reported statewide the numbers have jumped to over ninety three hundred positive cases with one hundred seventy seven deaths well and everyone's getting legally for businesses to reopen but a big barrier is going to be testing those employees so far there's really no tests has been able to tell if someone has previously tested positive and this may be immune well NextEra fee with Texas based proficiency testing services says there are a few tests are coming in from China however they're not that reliable that this was going to tell the population if you've got a new unity to the someone you don't have to really worry about being exposed he predicts that when reliable tests are made available they will be in high demand then that will slow down the process of getting businesses re open to the public this is when it's tough being a tourist rich town city officials say the hotel occupancy tax revenues have declined by tens of millions of dollars they had to make the difficult decision to furlough nearly three hundred employees at the convention center the Alamodome and a couple other different departments minimum staff levels are going to be mailed to maintain they'll keep skeleton crews for maintenance and security of both the convention center and the Alamodome meanwhile Toyota extending suspension of its production at the South Texas plant officials announced they're not going to resume production at least until may fourth the company says the action is to keep the health and safety of its own employees but it's also due to an anticipated decline in market demand meanwhile bear county judge Nelson Wolff thinking health care workers and first responders were on the front lines of the fight against the corona virus here just everyone to support the FE effort he says it's easy China's keep your distance we need to help them back continuing to do what we're doing today stay home work at home be careful about social distances and do all the things that we would that we know we need to do washing hands and not be touching not be touching each other well the country thought we had a killer but now the CDC is making it very clear that there are no approved drugs to treat this virus he just removed all dosage information for Hydroxycut Laura Quinn from its website the drug has been backed by president trump as a possible treatment and some states have been ordering it but the CDC site now says the drug is under investigation in clinical trials for use on corona virus patients meanwhile the FBI taking this outbreak very seriously they arrested one San Antonio man this week for posting a hoax threat about H. E. B. on Facebook special agent Chris combs says they hope this sends a message they're taking this very serious and any jokes are the least bit funny this is a national emergency and we just cannot afford to have anyone question the food supply and if someone tries that I can assure you the F. B. I.'s gonna come this guy a thirty nine year old old enough to know better was upset that people were still filling the grocery stores he faces five years in prison now well the homeless have been hit very hard by this corona virus and it's starting to take its toll we're told to stay home but what if you don't have a home the haven for hope homeless shelter is closed to prevent the spread of the virus so assistant city manager Lori Houston says the city is using two point five million dollars in federal funds to rent out a hotel eight thousand dollars will be used to open a temporary overflow shelter for the homeless they are not a guarantee anything done and today the city is setting up a homeless connection hotline which connects families to resources.

U. north you can listen to that if you missed our conversation with the director of the new film coming out highlighting the career of of Reds hall of Famer the deaf baseball player W. away in the premier upcoming at Taft theatre that's on the blog and there's plenty of college basketball and more plus my conversation with Spencer Richey of FC Cincinnati go there on your time at seven hundred WLW dot com let's begin here and I I did I talked to a little bit about this earlier in the week I've always insisted that I worked in the toy department of life well things are are now officially strange strange days indeed I I listen to our the governor will have to use the word social distancing kosher social distancing and the recommendation we stay six feet apart from other individuals my toy department of life means I get to talk sports and I'm fighting games in in a few stats after a day of you being beaten down by the real world and I I offer the high school but it's six and are for the the hard hitting debate on NC double a tournament seeding status and how the twenty six man roster for the Reds is shaping up the bangles might or should pursue in free agency and how you're to the MLS might unfold for FC Cincinnati now we have a collision at the intersection of real life in the toy department of sports and as I said earlier in the week the toys now the Lysol wipes and it's been difficult for me I'll be honest here it's been difficult for me to decide how to approach this on sports talk I don't know about this today on my blog at seven hundred WLW dot com I had I had to initial thoughts to begin this and and like separation of church and state I long thought sports talk with your nightly three hour escape from real life the corona virus and sports discussion was going to be difficult because of what because of what we're up against I mean how do you rationally discuss a pandemic when the default position for some is to blame the media and make it about politics well the rancher mothers is to grab all the toilet paper available off the shelves of stores I mean that sounds like a discussion to be that is a lose lose but we've reached the point that all of this needs to go on the table for discussion and that's what we'll do tonight you know I joke I thought of the Seinfeld episode earlier today it it did a show about nothing number one Jerry and and and and and onsite filled the good George they were they were pitching the show about nothing era and I joked on Instagram tonight with the picture was a blank sheet of the rundown for sports talk the only thing on the list was six thirty five Dick Williams no check it in about twenty minutes the rest of it is going to be and this will be the first of many of these nights where we kind of feel our way through this talk our way through this because I know I I know you've got it a story to relate you've got a thought on what is transpired over the last twenty four hours you certainly have a story of how it relates directly to you when it comes to sports specifically for for this time slot I I've talked about how our our trip is now off to Milwaukee over the weekend case we're gonna watch the Milwaukee Bucks at Miami Heat on a spring break Monday night to the best teams in the NBA his favorite team the Miami Heat we're gonna see the Greek freak that is all out it's part of what is changing in the strange days they continue to unfold I'll give you more thoughts on this and will start working on some calls in the Dick Williams coming up at six thirty five it is six fifteen thank you for being here I hang out for a while and we'll see what we can make out of this because honestly I don't know what what what we might potentially be able to make out of this we'll find out sports talk seven hundred WLW from the UCL traffic center offering the only level for maternal care facility in Cincinnati UC Medical Center provides the highest level of care for pregnant and postpartum patients there's currently an accident eastbound Columbia parkway at Kemper and it's causing a slowdown in both directions there rain bidding the tri state right now from about south of the Norwood lateral down into northern Kentucky slowing you down just a bit northbound seventy five is slow for Mitchell to paddock's southbound remains slow now from Freeman crossed the bridge through the cotton hill north seventy want to slow down from the lateral to stored and southbound seventy.

"Seven hundred W. L. W. afternoon it's another huge game for the Bearcats as they host the twenty and six Wichita state shockers let's get it in depth got a report here is Terry with UC assistant coach Tim Morris goes Morris your fourth overtime game in a row a lot of energy was spent a lot of emotions going up and down take a postgame interlocutory it's it's always from the seasons like a like a twelve round fight I mean we took some punches early season fought the middle rounds then came back some more so than other points last game we had to come back and you just keep grinding so that's the mindset we don't keep punching a matter what and grind our way to get what we want to get it seems like an American when the top team loses a game they're onto the next team to start talking about building that story yet this team is twenty and sixty been able to win consistently with young players how they doing all they have a culture that sis I'm here tonight you can see it with those different rotations they they have with the starting line up the intensity they play with the consistency defensively to consistency in their shot selection is every part of their their program just tight so it seems like there's a lot of accountability and because of that there get up pretty consistent product on the floor every night is there a guessing this earned the nickname cardiac cats not just for the seven overtime games but the previous time we played this team we won on a last second and one or three seconds ago and one by German company what is about this America's team that allows them to concentrate and even compete in tight games like this well hi guys have winning DNA especially this this veteran group gerund phrase panky with that being said when it comes down to crunch time some just clicks and they take their intensity comes up there we're in a Titans physicality goes to another level and because of that if they we get to close games where what's up with the do you anticipate a high three point shooting game today from Wichita I hope not that's what they do well in transition if they get a lot of miles Morales and going so as want to game plan keys is to take a more you take away some of those three point shots especially for Stevens and eighty in in Dennis limit a lot of those threes and then take out any game a post so now thank you question though this technology wanted to see a lot of threes is getting what you're going to have standing room only only sees that available standing room only seats ESPN the top game of the day to start the game off we go out of here feeling good we do what things well compete it says the number one thing we got to increase our differences BMP like our our energy effort mental focus that was one thing that was lacking we we gave up some defensive has because of lapses against UCF got a rebound the ball they're really good officer rebounds eight and we just got a shared office we do a good job here's been been leading this team making great decisions and we put the ball in his hands along with straight and help lead us so having everybody pulled together and just compete and play for labour back and get this thing done that's a pregame scouting report from Terry and assistant coach Tim Morris state to it I'll.

W. is neither background from all with financial got the simply money minute let's talk about charity and charitable giving as a native there's a time of year people tend to give to charities and how to get the most out of your charitable contributions well chances are for many of you a direct contribution will not cut your federal taxes because in two thousand seventeen the tax cut raise the standard deduction is it all of you could take if you're a single is twelve thousand two hundred dollars and if you're married is twenty four thousand four hundred dollars before you'll get any credit towards those contributions that you're making but you can save on capital gains you can do that by establishing a donor advised fund you'll get a tax deduction on the appreciated assets and when you decide to make a contribution it will go directly to a charity all right about some other strategies were you given also save on taxes at the same time well one option is to make a qualified charitable.
