A highlight from Prioritizing American Families: A Disconnect with Career Politicians with Stefan Mychajliw

"American families are struggling to put gas in their car to pay six dollars a gallon. They're struggling to buy milk and eggs and groceries. People are really hurting in Joe Biden's America. The difference was crystal clear on that debate stage. The vague ramasami talked about his positive America First vision of how he's going to improve the American economy, put money in the pockets of people. Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests and my fellow citizens, America's comeback starts right now. We are live with Vivek Ramaswamy, deputy communications director and friend of the financial guys, Stefan Mihailu. Stefan, how are you? That's right. I'm a financial guys client and deputy comms director for Vivek Ramaswamy. I say that's a great one -two punch. That is. It's a great thing. So tell us a little bit about the overall feeling from Team Vivek or the Vivek camp, I should say, about the debate this past week. Well, I actually drove over with Vivek Ramaswamy here to the Reagan Library and there was a mission to do two things. One, let Vivek be Vivek, be presidential, be above the fray. We knew the attacks were coming. We knew the career politicians on that stage were going to attack Vivek Ramaswamy. And why? Because if you're, you know, getting kicked in the rear, that means you're out in front. So we're wholeheartedly expecting attacks from career politicians is exactly what happened. And so I'd be very concerned if a lot of the career politicians on the stage did not attack Vivek Ramaswamy. They did, and we are more than pleased with his sharing of the American people, what his America First vision is to build on the success of Donald Trump, to build on what Donald Trump laid down that foundation with Vivek Ramaswamy as a candidate for president now in 2024. So you mentioned being the hunted, and I talked to you at a different interview about this, but in debate number one, Stefan, people were trying to just learn who Vivek was at that point, right? He had a couple of zingers. He had a pretty good performance in debate one, but as debate one ended, he was getting attacked and mauled by everybody on the debate stage that night. And then debate two, they started right after him right from the get go. And I do agree with you. I think that was a very interesting thing to see. Hey, you know, and I'll tell you, Ron DeSantis didn't take that right. That beating that, or that, that try to take a beating like that. Nikki Haley didn't, Tim Scott didn't, they were going after one, well, two people, Donald Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy on that debate stage. I was really shocked at the fact that now Chris Christie has a potential running mate in his campaign of vengeance and anger and grievance against Donald Trump. And it's Ron DeSantis. Ron DeSantis attacked not only Vivek Ramaswamy, but Ron DeSantis attacked Donald Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy appeared presidential. He's staying above the fray and he's letting the American people know he's not running against Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis or any politician on that stage. Vivek Ramaswamy is running for the American people. So while we were in the green room, basically watching the debate unfold, we were very thrilled that all the queer politicians went after Vivek Ramaswamy and look, it's no different than what the queer politicians did in 2016 against Donald Trump. History repeated itself. The fact that they were going after Donald Trump in 2016 and they're doing the same thing with Vivek Ramaswamy. So let's look at a couple of those attacks that he received, Stefan. Number one was the TikTok, the TikTok attack with him doing a video. Was it Jake Paul or one of the Paul brothers? Many of the candidates on the debate stage had an issue with him doing any type of TikTok due to the China influence with TikTok. Your thoughts on that or Vivek's thoughts on that? Well, look, Vivek Ramaswamy did business in China. He saw how basically dirty and crooked the process was. So what did he do? As he said on the debate stage, he got the hell out. Now compare that with Apple and Nike and LeBron James who stayed in China, who's profiting from China. So Vivek Ramaswamy says all the time he is going to declare independence from America's greatest enemy and that is communist China. And who better to take out an enemy than someone who knows the enemy. And so as far as TikTok is concerned as well, look, Republicans, shockingly, are in the business of basically not playing within the rules and parameters of a campaign and letting Democrats run all over us for the past few decades. The Democrats are on TikTok. That's how you reach young voters. And that's exactly what Vivek Ramaswamy is going to do. Play by the rules and reach young voters. So I want to ask that question because Jake Paul actually tweeted about Vivek this week about this exact issue and I agreed with what Jake Paul said. The majority of young people between the ages of let's call it 12 and 30, their primary platform is TikTok, right? I mean, that's where they are. And was this totally calculated by Vivek Ramaswamy to get into that voting base because everybody's on Twitter, everybody's on Instagram, but TikTok and everyone can have their feelings on TikTok, Stefan. I don't personally love it either, but was this a calculated move? Vivek has feelings on TikTok. He is crystal clear about empowering parents to make sure that kids 16 and under are not on any social media platform, because as he says all the time, we don't like kids engage in highly addictive drugs like alcohol or tobacco at a very young age. And so Vivek Ramaswamy, his president, says he'll do the same with social media, empower parents and make sure they know that their kids are not on any of these platforms when it comes to running for president of the United States, you have to talk to voters in every means necessary. The Democrats are taking advantage of this medium and so too is Vivek Ramaswamy. We're here to win an election and talk to young voters. That's the way he's doing it. Before we get into the specific issues of the debate last night, I do want to talk about two quick things. Number one, what was Team Vivek's thought about the way that that was moderated, the way that the debate went? It looked very sloppy from afar. I was not in the room. I was not there like you were, but it looked very sloppy. It looked very messy with people talking over each other, people going over on their time, the moderators not asking pointed questions, getting lost in the shuffle. What were the thoughts from Team Vivek? Well, look, as a former news anchor, I know how hard it is to basically try and round up feral cats and get them to play by the rules. For the most part, Vivek Ramaswamy did. The most important rule that he honored was Reagan's 11th commandment, speak no ill will of a fellow Republican. That was the most important rule when it comes to either the moderators or the debate platform or being here in Reagan's presidential library. Don't speak ill will of a fellow Republican. Vivek honored that commandment. He talked about his positive America First vision, how he's basically going to increase and strengthen GDP growth, strengthen and protect the border using the US military to bomb cartels, keep us out of World War III, all the other career politicians on that stage just in the same way they treated Donald Trump in 2016. They wanted to attack and attack and attack not only a fellow Republican, but a business owner and political outsider. It happened eight years ago in 2016. It happened again in the second GOP debate here at the Reagan Library.

"You refuse to be transparent with Congress regarding your interactions with FTX and Sam Bankman -Fried. That's the investigation we started last Congress. Finally, your lack of responsiveness to this committee's legitimate oversight continues to be unacceptable. And I want to finish here. In February, the committee made multiple requests for documents to the Securities Exchange Commission. This is normal congressional oversight. Yet seven months later, the committee has not received a single non -public document that was not part of a FOIA production. As I said, our patience is wearing thin. The SEC is not above the law, nor is it unique. Other financial regulators have routinely complied with congressional oversight. So let me be clear. I do not want to be the first chairman of this committee to issue a subpoena to the Securities Exchange Commission. And you should not want to be the first SEC chair to receive a congressional subpoena. Either we find a path forward where the SEC recognizes Congress is a co -equal branch of government and is responsive to our oversight duties, or my option is to issue a subpoena. It's time for you to consider the lasting consequences of your actions and what that means to the Securities Exchange Commission's reputation long term. While your time in this role may be temporary, the repercussions for your actions may be permanent for the agency. I yield back. What's up and welcome back. You know, they say when you're on the hot seat, the burns can last a lifetime. And the other night the hot seat was in Congress and Gary Gensler was feeling the heat. We got a lot to cover. Let's get it. All right, let's get it started here. This was just in full letter to the SEC, and this was on September 26th and addressed to Chairman Gensler. It included Representatives Mike Flood, Tom Emmer, Richie Torres, and Wylie Nickel, and they claimed the SEC continuously is discriminated against spot Bitcoin ETFs. And then we have this from Representative Warren Davidson, Gary Gensler must be held accountable. And then if you guys look at the tweet here throughout his tenure, Gary Gensler has blatantly ignored Congress, be it when considering rulemakings or responding to lawmakers oversight requests. Republicans continue to bring long overdue accountability to Gensler's SEC. Republicans are holding SEC Chair Gensler accountable. They even went so far as to say, all right, let's bring in subpoenas or maybe we should just fire this guy. He went further. Gensler's failures are many. That's why I introduced the SEC Stabilization Act to fire Gary Gensler. He'll see you in the hearing. And we've got so much of the hearing to get to. It was honestly out of line in some regards, hilarious. But let's get to it. And we're going to go ahead and get it started here with the GOP majority whip, Tom Emmer totally crushes Gary Gensler. Here's one quote. It cannot be understated. A common theme throughout your career, sir, is your relentless loyalty to the largest financial institutions at the clear expense of innovation, competition and everyday Americans. Let's roll the clip. Chair Gensler, I have a series of questions that require a yes or no answer. And in the interest of my limited time, I'd appreciate it if you would comply with it. Mr. Gensler, is it fair to say generally that large institutions in any given industry benefit more from regulatory uncertainty than everyday market participants or smaller institutions who don't have the scale or the capital to fund expensive compliance teams? Large institutions could benefit from uncertainty. Reclaiming my time. The answer is yes, sir. Mr. Gensler, you had an 18 year career at Goldman Sachs where you were partner and co -head of finance, correct? Yes, sir. Thank you. And is it correct to say that you made most of your personal wealth directly through your employment at this bank, Goldman Sachs? I've done well since then, too, sir.

It has been almost a year since our own Neil Ogenstein started treatment after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. And this week Neil is sharing how he is benefitting from some cutting -age treatments. When we first met you we had had this pattern of tumors that were in multiple spots days after my diagnosis. I first met Michael Wyant, director of thoracic surgery at Inova Health System. And the reason that surgery was not a viable option the day that you walked in the door, there was no way your body would survive the surgery that would be necessary to extract all the tumor cells from you. Surgery on both lungs in multiple lobes of your lungs, you would almost envision a lung transplant needing to be required to remove all the tumors, which really is not feasible. But that changed after four months of one pill a day targeted therapy. The drug that you got remarkably reduced the overall number of tumor sites in your body. And it narrowed it down to one single area. Today robotic surgeries through four tiny incisions very different from decades past. The only option of entry into the chest was to make a very large incision. It's the larger incisions and the spreading of the ribs that induces a fair amount of pain for patients after surgery. He and the robot removed the upper lobe of my left lung. I went home the next morning. For the majority of our patients, things turn out to be better than they anticipated. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is offering little to no clear answers on the next steps for government funding. He spoke to reporters Friday after House Republicans met for almost three hours to come up with a plan to avoid a government shutdown. I think we had an interesting conversation there, but we continue to work through trying to find the way out of this. I firmly believe there are no winners in a government shutdown, and I think that's the best way forward to make sure a government does not shut down. McCarthy says he thinks a Senate bill without $6 billion in funding for Ukraine could pass in the House, adding he thinks Democrats will oppose it. Earlier Friday, the House failed to pass a GOP -led short -term funding bill that included deep cuts and border provisions. Smith initially asked for a limited gag order earlier this month, but updated the request on Friday, citing Trump's threats against witnesses. "It's just one moment after the other. You should see our chat. Not going to say that. I'm not going to say that. Here's another one. They all decided to attack Vivek. I like Vivek. Play cut 142. We're sitting here in the Reagan Library. Yes, I wish you would do that. In the honor of Ronald Reagan's library, if I may, Tim, from one admirer of Ronald Reagan to another, from one admirer of Reagan to another, we cannot say- Did you not do deals with them? I've been seen to be lost four years ago. This isn't productive. I want to hear about that. Let's have a policy debate. Understand what's going on. Let us have a policy debate. It doesn't actually matter about their records. Let's have a policy debate. And the right answer is- We need to declare independence in China. Thank you very much. And I will see that through. Look, I've met Dana a couple of times. I really like Stu Varney. Stu has been very, very good to me over the last decade. Very good. I'm a hundred percent a fan of Stu, and I will always be in his debt. I mean that. But the moderators should have established dominance here. They should have slammed it down and said, you guys are acting like a bunch of petulant kids. And we're going to cut mics or kick you out. I want to help you get the best sleep of your life. He didn't stop at the pillow. Mike Lindell has created the Giza Dream bedsheets. These sheets look and feel great, which means an even better night's sleep, which is crucial for your overall health. So Gavin Newsom, he very well might be the, remember we call him, he's warming up in the bullpen right now, throwing strikes while Joe Biden is withering away. Joe Biden right now, again, it's baseball season, but as I said, I don't watch baseball. They went super gay. And I might watch the Cubs in the playoffs. We'll see if they make the playoffs. I think it's actually closing up in the next, this weekend I think is the final weekend, right? So Gavin Newsom is in the bullpen. Joe Biden basically is bases loaded, no outs. He's on a last, last issue, like last, last chance here. Here's Gavin Newsom, taunting Ron DeSantis, play cut 162. The fact that he took this debate, the fact that he took the bait in relationship to this debate shows he's completely unqualified to be president of the United States. That's my humble personal opinion. Why is that, you're baiting him with the debate offer? Of course, I mean, why is he debating a guy who's not even running for president when he's running for president? He's showing up at the Reagan Library, hollow ground, and he puts out an ad today, not for his presidential campaign, to promote a debate against the governor of California? I mean, this guy's distracted. So I don't know that he has it in his heart. I think, here's my personal opinion about Ron DeSantis. He regrets running for president. He made a huge mistake. He listened to his consultants. He bought his own hype. He had this little glad god complex. I mean, look at the ads themselves. Literally, God created, I mean, he bought into all this stuff. And he quickly regretted it, but he stuck. Man, Newsom is Luciferian, isn't he? This guy is a slippery, slippery snake. I would much rather run against Joe Biden than Gavin Newsom. Be careful what you wish for. Newsom, and by the way, a lot of these, you know, let's just say the suburban wine moms, the kind of Xanax addicted crowd, they love Gavin. They love him. Be my husband. I love you, save us with your social leftism. His approval rating off the charts with suburban women, even more so than Joe Biden. So Gavin Newsom is openly taunting Ron DeSantis. And then Gavin Newsom did the media circuit last night. Now, Gavin is, he is a very slippery guy. He's also incredibly self-confident, very self-confident. Gavin is a unique person in the Democrat party because he seems on the appearance to actively court disagreement. He's not a social liberal in the sense that free speech liberal, he's not. He's all about power, but he's, he's talented. He's incredibly good at gamesmanship, double speak. He's acting as a Democrat loyalist, but think about the self-righteousness and quite honestly, I could use a anatomy figure, but I'll just say, let's just say the, how do I say this nicely? The stones, as a Democrat governor of the largest state in the country to show up at a Fox sponsored debate in the spin room, that's something. And it also shows that he thinks he can debate anybody. But of course, if Tucker Carlson got his hands on Gavin Newsom, if Steve Bannon, if Matt Walsh got their hands on Gavin Newsom, it wouldn't go well. So Gavin plays the prideful self-righteous thing, but he would definitely not do well in those scenarios. Not at all. Now, some people say, but I think Gavin would do well. Gavin V. Tucker, I mean, look, Gavin Dodge is the most, he's a liar, right? So Gavin says, we're against book banning. Okay, Gavin, yes or no? Do you think pornography should be in schools? He's never been asked that question, no. He's just pull out gender queer and start reading it for him. Hey, Gavin, this is intimate details about gay sex. What do you think about that, Gavin? That's how you confront, you show you don't tell, you confront it right in. But boy, is he a very cocky person. Here's Gavin Newsom on Sean Hannity's program. And people say Gavin Newsom won. I don't know, I haven't watched the whole thing, but let's play cut 163. Is this border secure? I believe Ronald Reagan was right in 1986 when he supported comprehensive immigration. Well, he also said it was the worst decision he ever made. Yeah, but I believe that he did the right thing for the right reasons, because he recognized it's not just a border issue that the entire system needs to be reformed. We all agree we have border challenge. We all agree we need to reform the asylum system. We agree in strong borders. I think the Republican party is complicit in this as well. And by the way, I don't need to be educated on this. I have the largest land port in the Western hemisphere here in the state of California. So Gavin is very smart in this regard. He's trying to create himself into a right wing villain to use the energy of the hate to propel himself. And honestly, that's very, very smart. Politics is a game of energy, energy transfer. It's the laws of physics. For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. This is something Trump did very well. Trump only got bigger because the media attacked him. And he said, hey, look right wing world, the media hates me and that made people like Trump more. So Gavin is now able to go to Democrat donors, Democrat activists and say, do you see how much the right hates me? And I'm not afraid to go debate him. And Gavin is different. He's cut from a different cloth. AOC, Rashida Tlaib, they're terrified to go on these programs. When I go to a college campus, 99% of the time, the professors, the smug philosopher Kings, the activists, they don't wanna debate and they don't wanna have a conversation. Gavin thinks so highly of himself and he better watch out because he could play patty cake, but when he starts to get up to Tucker or Walsh or some of our people that throw strikes, we'll see how slippery he can actually be. And again, the way to handle that kind of says, hold on pal, what are you doing right now to actually stop the invasion of California? Isn't an invasion Gavin Newsom? But Hannity is friends with Gavin Newsom. So I think there was a little bit of a fraternal relationship, right? So I think that that was probably preventing some of the more direct questions from being asked. Here's cut 164. And by the way, Gavin is always welcome on our show anytime, like at 164. Energy independent for the first time in 75 years. We are more energy dependent today. Look that up, it's a fact. And if you, no, no, no. No, it's just factually untrue. Joe Biden is unilaterally disarmed. I encourage the people watching. Look this up, 5.94 quads. Google 9.5 quads. Look at all the restrictions Joe Biden has put on oil and gas companies. We are more energy independent today under Biden. Pence doesn't know that. Your audience doesn't know that. More domestic oil production than any time in history. We're on pace this year. That's a fact. You guys keep making that up. So Gavin, why are gas prices so high then? Interesting question. Why are gas prices so high if we're more energy independent? How much energy are we actually exporting? We were a net exporter under Trump. We've stopped that. How long does it take to actually develop oil and natural gas? Can you do it in 10 months, 12 months? You know, sometimes it takes three to four years. Now, even though that was a complete lie, cable television is not, unfortunately, not about the truth. It's not a series of op-eds where you can get them peer reviewed and fact checked. It's a question of dominance. And Gavin Newsom thinks he can dominate. He's pretty good at it, actually. And honestly, I could go into all this. You guys know it's a lie. Trump had us on track for three to four more million barrels a day than we are today under Biden is just catching up to Trump's top month pre-COVID. West Texas crude is now at $93 a barrel. $93 a barrel. And Gavin is welcome anytime on the Charlie Kirk show. We'll see. We'll see really how selective he is in what shows he goes on. By the way, I think Jesse Waters would run circles around him. Jesse's a smart dude. I like Jesse a lot. I think Jesse would come with the goods. Hey Gavin, why do you have the greatest net migration of any state in the country? Why are so many people leaving California if you're doing such a great job? You talk about wealth inequality. Why is the greatest distance between working people and rich people in your home state? Just very simple questions. If you're doing such a great job, why are so many people leaving? The place that you were the mayor of is now considered to be a joke. It's a laughing stock, Gavin Newsom. San Francisco is a dystopian hellscape. Hey Gavin, do you feel safe? Just a question. For your son to walk unattended San Francisco at 10 p.m., yes or no? Prove it. Drop your kid off right off the highway in San Francisco at Fisherman's Wharf and have him walk across the city that you governed for five years and the state that you currently govern. Prove it to us. Have your son walk into downtown San Francisco unattended. Show us, Gavin. Prove that you actually believe in your ideology. That's how you handle Gavin Newsom. Personal, offense, aggressive, direct. You show, you don't tell. Not like this fact here and all that. He's gonna lie. You go directly at him, indisputable. You stop a snake with aggression and direct confrontation in his face. Hey, Charlie Kirk here. Not all of it was bad. I wanna compliment Vivek Ramaswamy. The media has come after Vivek for saying that this is fake news. This is the problem when all of your institutions are captured, the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, I think it's called that, but the major psychiatric institutions. For years, we considered transgenderism, gender dysphoria, a mental disease, a mental illness, which it is. Something that needs treatment, not affirmation. Something that needs healing, not platforming. Something that needs, you could call it CBT type therapy or watchful waiting as Dr. Miriam Grossman would call it in her excellent book. But so Vivek says this and he's 100% correct, 100% correct. And Time, I think it was Time Magazine that came out with a fact check and they said wrong, transgenderism is not a mental illness. It's a mental illness. These people need help. Play cut 137. I have to be very clear about this. Transgenderism, especially in kids, is a mental health disorder. We have to acknowledge the truth of that for what it is. And I'm sorry, it is not compassionate to affirm a kid's confusion. That is not compassion, that is cruelty. So I will ban genital mutilation or chemical castration. Okay, but I wanna know, is this the same? I don't know why Dane is interrupting him. It was the best part of the whole debate. It frustrates me. So honestly, Vivek, God bless you, man. That is worth it. That is a righteous fight. That is a virtuous fight. The current chemical castration of teenagers will go down as one of the great moral injustices in the history of the West. Irreversible damage to children that they are preying on. These are predators. So good for you, Vivek, you are right. It is not compassion, it is cruelty. They are chopping off the breast. They are doing double mastectomies, irreversible. They are butchering 12, 13 and 14 year olds and not a couple hundred, not a couple thousand that we know of tens of thousands of people that have been mutilated as children. They get put on these incredibly damaging drugs like Lupron and then the antidepressant cocktails that follow. It is the moral modern day equivalent of the lobotomy craze. Thankfully we said, oh, that was a bad idea despite all the people it harmed. Thankfully over 20 people are pushing back but the media is all in on this trans delusion. Again, that's an attack vector where if Gavin Newsom, you could really push Gavin on that. He doesn't understand the issue. He's talking points, he's shallow. He thinks he's slippery. You could really push Gavin on that but you have to know your stuff. And by the way, 20 States are pushing back, not 20 people, I'm sorry. The Ukraine thing was also very interesting to look at last night. Vivek Ramaswamy is the only person on stage yesterday to his credit that stands against sending unlimited amounts of money to Ukraine while our entire country collapses. Play cut 138 please. The reality is just because Putin's an evil dictator does not mean that Ukraine is good. This is a country that has banned 11 opposition parties. A win for Russia is a win for China. A win for Russia is a win for China. But I forgot you like China, that's why you're okay. You'll have your chance in just a moment. The hurling personal insults isn't helping. China is the real enemy and we're driving Russia further into China's arms. Just last week, we were healing an Nazi in his foreign ranks. Vivek, if you let Putin have Ukraine, that's a green light to China, to take Taiwan. We need a reasonable plan to get a reasonable plan to peace. The Communist Party of China is the real enemy. Governor Christie. You have to listen to that tape four times to understand what the heck is going on. But this is just one thing about neocons. With confidence, hubris and pride, they tell you with certainty, they know cause and effect. If we do this, then this will happen. If we do this, then that will happen. They are almost always wrong. They try to centrally plan foreign policy. Think about that. They did it in Vietnam. If we do not stop at domino theory, if we do not invade Iraq, nuclear weapons for everybody, they might be right, but they're usually wrong. At the crux of neoconservatism, at the base of neoliberalism that Nikki believes in, Pence believes in, is an assuredness of themselves that they can centrally plan the geopolitical decisions involving billions of people and hundreds of different motivations and thousands of years of history. They are no better than the central planners that plan the reaction to COVID and school lockdowns. They are no better than the central planners that try to do philosophizing king over the American economy. These are central planners by different means. They just wear a neoconservative jersey and it's rooted in pride and smugness and hubris. If we don't do this, then that will happen. You don't know that, you don't. In fact, you've been wrong about those predictions for 50 years.

English should be the official language of the United States. And the argument is, well, Charlie, we have to reach out to new voters. Speak English, okay? I don't want to live in a country where I can't understand my fellow countrymen. Assimilation is necessary for a free society and a strong society. This is how we started. I mean, really? Play cut 148. Please allow me to welcome our Spanish-speaking audience. Who gonna associate with you? I don't like that. I don't like it. Immigrants from across the world have come to this country and they will tell you they had to learn English. What that is basically saying is, yeah, we're perfectly fine with you not assimilating and learning the native language here. It creates a nation of strangers, a nation of foreigners in America. I don't like it. All right, so let's play another piece of tape here. This is such a joke, honestly. Let's play cut 136. It's now obvious that if you all stay in the race, former President Donald Trump wins the nomination. None of you have indicated that you're dropping out. So, which one of you on stage tonight should be voted off the island? Please use your marker to write your choice on the notepad in front of you. 15 seconds, starting now. Of the people on the stage, who should be, I'm absolutely serious. With all due respect, I mean, we're here. Like, you know, we're happy to debate. I think that that's disrespectful to my fellow competitors. Nobody wants to participate. Let's do some questions. Let's talk about the future of the country. Honestly, that was Ron DeSantis as one of his best moments. Good for him. I mean, standing up, that's such a pathetic thing. What is this, a game show? I mean, this is like made for TV entertainment. And the constant talking over one another was unbearable. Unbearable. At some point, you have to just say, time out, we're done. We're done. You guys have had your chance. We are so significantly disadvantaged right now in the early states. Significantly. Ballot chasing, voter registration. And we have this, not even a sideshow for a presidential debate. How about this one? Let's go to just cut 145. I could go one after the other, play cut 145. The next question is from Governor DeSantis. How do we get it done in Washington, Paul? We must finally do what we're doing. No, let's play that again. This is your Republican party without Trump. The next question is from Governor DeSantis. How do we get it done in Washington, Paul? We must finally do what we're doing. With some exceptions, I'll put DeSantis and Vivek out. You just got a bunch of narcissists talking over one another that just want their five minutes on TV. This is your Republican party without Trump. It's like complete bedlam, complete bedlam. Oh, and Chris Christie really got a zinger in there. Play cut 143. And I want to look at that camera right now and tell you, Donald, I know you're watching. You can't help yourself. I know you're watching, okay? And you're not here tonight, not because of polls and not because of your indictments. You're not here tonight because you're afraid of being on this stage and defending your record. You're ducking these things. And let me tell you what's going to happen. You keep doing that. No one up here is going to call you Donald Trump anymore. We're going to call you Donald Duck. All right. I want to ask the governor to- Hilarious. That was so funny. I forgot to laugh.

"They don't trust you. The Republican party is in a low, permanently in a low trust environment. They've seen a duly elected president, Donald Trump, be spied on, have his lieutenants, like Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, entrapped by the FBI, twice impeached, and have a 2020 election that was a drive-by shooting the U.S. Constitution. And they're here talking about like, well, I got some sort of tax bill passed. Again, I did not watch the entire debate. I couldn't. I watched for five minutes, got this woman speaking Spanish, like speak English. Give me a break. What is this? Well, Univision, literally. I'm gonna talk about that in a second. It's pathetic. And at like three minutes, you have these like rehearsed things. And I felt like I was watching a 2006 Republican primary debate, as if they're not transing our kids. We have the gayest generation in history, the most suicidal generation in history. We got parents being spied on by the FBI. We got this administrative state that's run in the country. And we have happy talk about tax cuts. And you have to wonder, are they ever going to take the cue? And they don't, they won't. The Ukraine thing is interesting. We'll talk about that. Donald Trump has now come out and he has called for cancellation of all future primary debates, so that we could focus our efforts on Biden. And I will say that, all of the, I'll say it again, all of this money that we're spending, $150 million with DeSantis, combined on stage, hundreds of millions of dollars, that money should be invested in Arizona, Wisconsin and Georgia for ballot chasing, voter registration and the boring stuff. That's where Democrats are spending their money right now. We're spending our money on Nikki Haley, Tim Scott feuds. And just so we're clear though, a lot of donors are waking up. I was, I would, boy, I got, I had the event with Dennis Prager last night and I must have received 30 text messages from major donors, couple of billionaires, that are like, what in the fresh level of hell was that? I was like, yeah, I'm trying to tell you. People that said, we're done, we are going to go invest. I hate Trump. Some of them were like, I hate Trump, but I hate Biden more. You know what? God bless you. I respect that. There should be a bumper sticker in Aspen. I hate Trump, but I hate Biden more.

"I want to thank Charlie, he's an incredible guy. His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job. Building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA. We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. That's why we are here. Brought to you by the loan experts I trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage at andrewandtodd.com. I did not watch the debate. I watched like three to five minutes. What a circus. We're going to go through today some very tough feedback for the Republican party. I don't know what's going on, but the old joke is that the Republican party is the stupid party and the Democrats are the evil party. They're still evil, but this is a complete clown show. Not just what happened at the debate and we're going to do our best to unpack it, which was just the absolute mess. Not just the mess and just how the debate itself was conducted, but also a mess between the candidates talking over one another and their pre-rehearsed lines, completely irrelevant, a lot of the stuff they're talking about. But also we have this 930 funding looming deadline where you have this weaponized administrative state and you can't get anyone to agree on anything. On top of that, you have these impeachment hearings and the witnesses that the Republicans are calling in front of the impeachment hearings are undermining the Republicans' effort to impeach Joe Biden. And so we have to go through this piece by piece. The Republican party is not a serious party, but we're going to play some of this piece of tape and it's absolute chaos. And I'm just going to continue to ask this question. Okay, all of these kind of corporate funded candidates, they got their time on television previously and now. How many ballot chasers, how many voter registration workers, how many people to secure our elections were we able to hire in the last two hours or the last two days, 48 hours? How many people? Here's just a little taste. I'm curious, how many of you actually watched the debate? I want to hear from you throughout the hour, freedomatcharleykirk.com. Play cut 142. This is just a taste, a micron of the Chinese fire drill that otherwise could be called a Republican debate. Play cut 142. We're sitting in the Reagan library. Yes, I wish you did not think it was midnight in America. If I may admit, from one admirer of Ronald Reagan to another, from one admirer of Reagan to another, we cannot say, I'm going to violate the Reagan's 11th commandment. This isn't productive. I want to hear about that. Let's have a policy debate. What's going on? Let us have a policy debate. Let's have a policy debate. And the right answer is we need to declare independence in China. Thank you very much. And I will see that through. You know what that is? That's what happens when you don't have an alpha male on stage. You got a bunch of betas. And they are all just trying to pretend to joust for dominance. You have Donald Trump come, whew, that would be a lot different debate. And also it's just lack of respect and the moderators were unable to establish dominance. And no one wants to watch that. By the way, I could play clip after clip after clip after clip. And almost zero mention of, hey, by the way, we have this unconstitutional Jack Smith guy that's trying to put the leader of our party in prison. Hey, we have an invasion. They mentioned the border a little bit, but they're not actually serious about it. They're like, oh, you know, we have to secure the border. Okay, how about declaring an invasion? How are you going to go after the deep state? What is the big picture here? They don't want to talk about that. You know why? Because everybody on that stage, except Vivek, I will exempt him from that. They're cheering for Donald Trump to be disqualified. The whole reason they're on stage, because you might say, Charlie, they think they have no chance. Yes, they think they have no chance unless Donald Trump goes to federal prison and is disqualified through the 14th amendment. The people on that stage, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Chris Christie, their plan is the David French plan of disqualifying Donald Trump to put him on the ballot. That is their plan. They know they can't beat him by normal means. And some people say, well, that was a vice presidential debate. No, it wasn't. And that was at best like a secretary of commerce debate or like the secretary of interior, maybe on a good day. This is not a serious thing that we have going on here at all. The question that I ask is, did the Democrats get closer to sneaking out another victory, I put in air quotes, in November of 2024? Of course they did. They wanna see this kind of mess of people that will not be president just go after one another in a complete fury, in unintelligible fury. I mean, here's just another example. You have Nikki Haley who's at like 3% and Tim Scott who still acts as if it's 1987 and it's morning in America. Someone's gotta just like pour cold water on this guy. Tim Scott, wake up. It's not morning in America, pal. I know you're at the Ronald Reagan library. I know that you're really sweet, all that good stuff. Great. Hey, we're at war. It's a cold civil war against the Marxists. Well, I believe our best days are ahead. Yeah, I got that. You gotta get that like soundbite chamber of commerce programming out of it. Here's Nikki Haley, who's just like yearning to go invade another sovereign country. It's like a mixture of Billy Crystal and Lady Graham. Boom, you got Nikki Haley. Play cut 150. I think, look, I appreciate Tim. We've known each other a long time, but he's been there 12 years and he hasn't done any of that. He hasn't. They've only given four budgets on time in 40 years. He was part of that. He increased the national debt. He voted for the spending. He has made sure that the borders are open and they haven't done anything. Look at everything that's happened. 12 years, where have you been? Where have you been, Tim? 12 years. We've waited and nothing has happened. Here's what you've done. 12 years. Here's the thing that I find interesting. Ron, Ron, let me finish this first. All these guys have said the same thing. Here's the fact. And I appreciate a lot of the things they're saying. Nikki Haley. I'm the only one up here who's gotten in the big fights and has delivered big victories for the people of Florida. And that's what it's all about. Okay. When will anyone on that stage ever realize that Republican voters are not voting necessarily on every piece of legislation that you may or may not have passed? They don't trust many of you on stage.

"A reason that most listeners voted for Benny Hill as the appropriate theme song for last night's debate, and it was bad. If you didn't watch it, you didn't miss anything. You really didn't. You want to hear a taste of it? You want to see a little bit of it? You want to get a check out? Let's just pull, oh, I don't know, kind of a random 46 -second clip from last night's debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in California. You will give me three times the deduction in income tax, then I will look at your gas tax, which is why it didn't happen. Exactly, Russ. Secondly, on the $50 million— Here is a nice part. Secondly, on the homework 10 because Obama bought those curtains. Did you send them back? It's in the press. Did you send them back? It's the State Department. Did you send them back? You're the one that works in Congress. That wasn't my question. You get it done. You hung them on your curtains. They were there before I even showed up at the residence. You are scrapping. Here's a fact. Here's a fact, though. You wanted a gas tax increase, and then you wanted a state government. We have not begun to go ahead like this. In fact, we're about to take a commercial break. Yep, that's your debate. Uh -huh. Yeah, tell me some more about the productive process that we're witnessing. My gosh. Somebody else has texted, maybe the best theme would be Mission Impossible. Well, yeah, that's what those seven candidates are facing right now, an impossible task of trying to upend President Donald J. Trump.

"This is your source for breaking news and what to make of it all. This is the Mike Gallagher Show. Donald, I know you're watching. You can't help yourself. I know you're watching, okay? And you're not here tonight because you're afraid of being on the stage and defending your record. And what you've got, honestly, every time I hear you, I feel a little bit dumber for what you say. For all the random shots at Trump, you know, they went right for the capillary, not the jugular. I think this was a good night for Donald Trump in the end. Now, from the ReliefFactor .com studios, here's Mike Gallagher. In all the years I've been doing this for a living, I recognize my limitations, okay? I don't think I'm the smartest guy in the room. I'm not the be all, know it all. I don't have the answer to everything. But finally, after some 40 plus years in this business as a broadcaster, I can come to a conclusion after suffering through last night's GOP presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, California. I know unequivocally who won last night's debate. And there was a winner. There was one person who was victorious. You know, they always say this about debates. Somebody's got to shine. Somebody's got to soar. Somebody's got to really knock it out of the park. Well, for the first time in my career, I can unequivocally, enthusiastically and confidently tell you that there was indeed one such candidate last night. And it was this guy.

You know, if you're a news and political junkie, you kind of like seeing ads that run during a big event like tonight's debate. Emily Seidel is about to join us. She's the CEO for Americans for Prosperity. In fact, let's bring her into the conversation now. Emily, it's great having you on the program. Great to see you. And I'm so impressed by the work that Americans for Prosperity is doing on behalf of Americans who are struggling with Bidenomics. We all know that, frankly, the economy, inflation, that's what ought to be front and center tonight. And to that end, AFP is going to run an ad that's going to air, I believe, during the debate or around the debate, certainly on Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel. Let's share the Americans for Prosperity ad with everybody as we kick off our conversation. Ronald Reagan used to ask, Are you better off today than you were before? Sadly, for most Americans, the answer is no. We know that because at Americans for Prosperity, we talk with them every day. Binomics is crushing us. I can't keep up with the rising class of America. This country is on the wrong track. We can do better. But we must focus on solving the issues that matter most. With new leadership and fresh ideas, we can reignite the American dream. You know, Emily, that's such a powerful message because it's what Americans need to hear. I think it's what Americans are craving somebody to give a solution to this economic mess that we are in. And thanks to this grassroots effort on Americans for Prosperity's part, more and more people are focused like a laser on how to get the job done. So first of all, kudos to the great work that AFP is doing in that front. Well, thank you very much. And thanks for having me on. I agree that it's what Americans need to hear. It's also what we're hearing from Americans. We've been knocking on the country. And with that ad, we just wanted to share back what we're hearing from them in a way that hopefully calls on candidates on the debate stage tonight and lawmakers in Washington right now to focus on these issues, the issues that we're hearing matter most to Americans right now, and actually step forward with some solutions. That's what people are looking for. I've invited our audience to support Americans for Prosperity because your grassroots efforts are as impressive as anything I've ever seen. So far, Americans for Prosperity has talked to 4 .6 million voters through phone calls or just good old -fashioned door knocks. What's the message that your folks are hearing from all of those millions of Americans that you're connecting with? Well, it's pretty impressive. 55 % of the people that we've spoken to so far name inflation as their top issue. And we've never seen that kind of focus on a specific issue at this point in a cycle. No other issue. I mean, there are a lot of other really important issues out there, but no other issue is even cracking the 10 % mark. And so that tells you something, the economic Biden agenda is crushing families across the country. And that's what we're hearing far and away the most at the doors and on the phones. You know, I'm going to throw a curveball at you because you've been at this a long time. You've spent really decades working in policy and politics. I've been at this a long time as well as a broadcaster. I've never seen anything like this in terms of what appears to be the intentional destruction of our economy. And I want to pick your brain for a moment. Emily, I want to see if you agree with me that this does not seem to be accidental. Is it a stretch to say that these awful policies that are crushing small business owners, that are hurting farmers, that are hurting the middle class, do you think these are well -intentioned but misguided policies? Or is it indeed intentional damage? I mean, that's a great question. I like to hope that people run for public office to try to serve their communities and just make bad choices sometimes. But at this point, you really need to start asking. I mean, as we're talking to folks across the country, for instance, there's a 71 -year old man that we just talked to in Colorado who's retired, who has to come out of retirement to continue to be able to live, support his wife and his niece who lives with him. We had a grocery store event in Wisconsin where we were giving out $25 gift cards to the grocery store as we were talking to people about the cost of all of this rampant government spending that's been driving inflation and what they can do about it, what their voices can do to try to drive change in the public policy arena. And one woman said that because of that $25 gift card, she didn't have to choose between a portion of her grocery list and diapers for the week for her family. I think that's the most important thing. And I think that's very, very important to the people of the country and they're very frustrated. No, and that frustration, I hear it every single day on the show as well. Emily Seidel, who's the CEO of Americans for Prosperity, is visiting with us here on The Mike Gallagher Show. You can go to americansforprosperity .org and support this very impressive organization that is moving the needle. A lot of Americans know what matters. I like to talk, I use the late great Charles Krauthammer's book title often on my show, Things That Matter. Buying diapers matters. How to pay for the groceries matters. There's going to be a lot tonight, and Americans for Prosperity matters, so go to americansforprosperity .org to support this very important organization. Emily, there's going to be a lot of distractions over the next 18 months. We're going to see all kinds of drama. There's a lot of drama about who's on the debate stage tonight, who's not on the debate stage, what's going to be talked about, what's not going to be talked about. Are you worried that those distractions are going to water down what ought to be the alternative vision that we need to get the country back on track? Are you worried that some of the drama is going to overshadow this crucial, crucial message that we have to stay on point and focus on how to get this country back on the right track economically? I don't think so, and here's why. Because we've been talking with voters across the country, and they are focused. They're focused on listening for what the candidates will do to address the top concerns that they've got. They're wondering, is this crisis of affordability of life, is this the new normal? They want to know what people are going to do to shed the problems of biodynamics and get our country back on track. And so my advice to candidates would be to recognize that those are the people that you're talking to. Don't get distracted by all of the rest of this and focus on the failure of biodynamics and your solutions as candidates for public office to get back on track. So when I invite my audience to support Americans for Prosperity by going to Americansforprosperity .org, I want to make sure we get into the nuts and bolts of what it is you do. Because from where I sit, there is no group in America that connects to the all 50 states and what Americans for Prosperity is specifically doing to grow that army and how our audience can help. So Americans for Prosperity is the largest national grassroots organization that works to advance public policy that's focused on what I talk about as the core principles of freedom and opportunity for every American. And a lot of people ask me, what does that mean to be a national grassroots organization? Well, it means we've built 36 state chapters so far, and we're growing. We've got activists, as you said, in all 50 states. And we work in communities to make sure that people's voices are heard by their lawmakers, whether that's at the state level on critical items of importance to what's happening in your state, whether it's K -12 education reform or anything else, or at the federal level and specifically looking at how we're going to get our country back on track from the failed Biden agenda. But our whole goal is to make it possible for good policy to be good politics so that we can actually get things done that reignite the American dream. And it's all about elevating the voices of Americans to the folks that they've elected to drive that change. This is what it's about. And every single day, people say to me, what can I do? How can I mean, it's one thing to complain about these destructive policies, but it's another thing to take action. Emily Seidel, it seems to me, 40 plus years I've been sitting in front of a microphone. I have never felt a stronger urge to tell everybody, you've got to get off the sidelines. You cannot be passive anymore, because frankly, the country's at stake. And I don't think that's rhetoric. I don't think that's hyperbole. Do you? No, not at all. You know, last cycle, I met this wonderful man up in Pennsylvania who said he was watching TV and he saw one of our commercials and he said, you know, I'm going to stop complaining to my friends about what's happening in our country. I'm going to get off my duff and do something about it. And he came and started knocking doors with Americans for Prosperity and AFP Action, which is a super PAC. Together, last cycle, we were in 457 races across the country. We knocked on more than 7 million doors. We reached tens of millions of voters through phone calls and emails and mail pieces. We're going to do that and more this election cycle. And no matter where you are in the country, if you want to get involved, we've got somebody that can help you get involved. Listen, to learn all about AFP, to join their army, and it is an impressive army indeed. Just go to Americansforprosperity .org, Americansforprosperity .org. Emily Seidel, thank you for spending some time joining us. And we'll be looking forward to seeing your ad tonight on the debate. I'm glad we gave our listeners and our viewers a sneak peek.

A highlight from JPMORGAN CHASE BLOCKS CRYPTO IN UK! SEC GARY GENSLER DELAYS BITCOIN SPOT ETF & HEARING!

"Welcome back to the Thinking Crypto podcast, your home for cryptocurrency news and interviews. If you are new here, please hit that subscribe button as well as the thumbs up button and leave a comment below. If you're listening on a podcast platform such as Spotify, Apple or Google, please leave a five star rating and review. It supports the podcast and it doesn't cost you anything. Well, folks, tomorrow's scumbag regulator, Gary Gensler, will be testifying before the House Financial Services Committee at 10 a .m. Eastern. So I definitely will be watching that. I'm hoping that he gets grilled, that he comes down on this clown because he has not been abiding by the law. He has made the SEC political. And there's many different topics that I hope the members of the financial committee go after him on. First, of course, the loss to Ripple in the XRP lawsuit, right where XRP was declared intrinsically not a security. So that is a total contrast to what Gary has been saying, that the rules are clear in 1933 -34 how we test for stocks and bonds. But it's like you buffoon digital assets exist on decentralized blockchains distributed globally. This is not a U .S. market. This thing is global and it's decentralized. So we need updated rules for this. And I'm not saying that every crypto asset is not a security. There are some that are. But how do we differentiate? That's the need for the updated rules. So the other aspect is Gary and the SEC took a big loss in the grayscale lawsuit. And the three judges went against the SEC and they said the denial of the grayscale Bitcoin's bond ETF was arbitrary and capricious. Gary's taking big losses in court here. Right. And obviously, Gary, going after the Coinbase folks is really bad, given that they greenlighted Coinbase to go public. The other aspect is Promethean, because since Gary was before this committee, a lot of stuff came out of a Promethean that they had they got the license, but they weren't even selling crypto and that this guy is clearly a plant by Gary Gensler and Elizabeth Warren. So I'm hoping they bring the heat on this buffoon and expose him. Last time they did a great job, but they got to keep the pressure on and expose him. Now, ahead of the hearing, Gary released his testimony. But it's the same old bullshit. Right. There's nothing new here. I don't even want to read anything. He just brings up the securities laws of 1933 and so on and so forth. Now, what also happened was a bunch of letters were sent to Gary Gensler and some other folks as well. So the first is a bipartisan letter was sent to Gary Gensler by GOP members and Democrats. So this is really great that it's bipartisan and they're urging the SEC to approve a Bitcoin spot ETF. The GOP members included Tom Emmer and Representative Mike Flood. The Democrats included Ritchie Torres and Representative Wiley Nickel. So this is really good. You know, they highlighted the grayscale lawsuit and how the court of appeals sided with grayscale. So I'm hoping that these folks bring the heat on Gary tomorrow. In addition, there was a letter sent to Gary Gensler and FINRA from Congressman Blaine stating his concern over the SEC's insufficient scrutiny of registered broker dealers with ties to the Chinese Communist Party, such as Prometheum, Webull and Moomoo app. Honestly, never heard of Moomoo app, but certainly Prometheum. We know, guys, that is a shady business and we will see what happens tomorrow. So they got to bring the heat and they got to keep putting the pressure. We have to use social media to our advantage. Folks, I want you all to be tweeting, sending emails to your representatives, making phone calls. We got to use the hashtag fire Gary Gensler. That stuff matters because I've said many times, optics play a big part in politics. I know we're not there in the capital, you know, forcing these folks to sign the bill or to fire Gary Gensler, but we can make our voices heard and we can amplify the facts and the truth and expose Gary Gensler for the corrupt scumbag that he is. And here, folks, the SEC has delayed the ARK Invest slash 21 shares Bitcoin spot ETF filing. They also delayed the global ex ETF application, which was due October 7th. So, you know, James Seyford is essentially saying, you know, will this mean that BlackRock, Bitwise, VanEck, all these folks are going to be delayed, too? You know, it wouldn't surprise me, Gary, I don't know what he's up to, but I hope the members call tomorrow him out on this. What are you doing? The courts clearly are saying you're not doing the right thing and they're siding with the crypto industry. So we once again, guys, are dealing with a corrupt scumbag regulator. He's a puppet on strings doing the bidding of his tradfi buddies and trying to slow this industry down, trying to kill crypto startups. So let's see what happens tomorrow. Now, speaking of Gary Gensler's tradfi puppet masters, Chase UK, yes, JP Morgan, Chase in the UK to block crypto payments, citing fraud and scams. Unbelievable, unbelievable, folks. And I'm going to give you the context of this. But let me give you the details of what they're trying to block. Banking giant Chase is banning crypto linked payments via debit card or by outgoing bank transfer for UK clients starting October 16th, according to an email to customers. If we think you're making a payment related to crypto assets will decline it, the email said, adding that the customers are free to use a different bank or provider to invest in crypto. However, finding a crypto friendly bank in the country may not be the easiest thing as UK credit institutions have a history of blocking or limited limiting customer access to crypto. The local financial watchdog, the Financial Conduct Authority, recently said it had facilitated discussions between banks and crypto firms because lenders have shown a reluctance to offer services to that industry. The fact that JP Morgan Chase is doing this is despicable. Why? Just today, just today, folks, JP Morgan agrees to pay seventy five million dollars settlement over ties to who? Jeffrey Epstein. Do I even need to say anything else about that name? Right, folks? These banks themselves are participating in a whole bunch of criminal scumbag activity, right? We've seen over the years. Hi Canada, Hugh Hewitt live inside of Studio North here and on the Salem News Channel. Good morning. A lot happened overnight. The Ukrainian armored columns pushing towards the Sea of Azov broke through the last line of Russian defenses. It's a narrow breakthrough, but it is a breakout. The Telegraph of Great Britain reporting that the Ukrainian military punched through a section of Russia's main defensive line on the southern front with an armored assault for the first time. Video footage from the front lines is seen. The Wall Street Journal followed with Ukraine sends first armored vehicles through breach in Russian defenses. That would be a significant milestone in the three and a half month counter offensive aimed at cutting Russia's occupying army in two. Too bad they don't have the attack. Joe Biden has refused to send. This would be over at this point. Senator J .D. Vance made a good point yesterday that Joe Biden wants blank check. Doesn't have a strategy. Well, he's incoherent. That's why I didn't have a strategy. And as a result, some Republicans, I think up to 30 of the 265 senators and Republicans who are up there are turning against Ukraine aid because Joe Biden can't lead. He can't articulate. Speaking of which, presidents in a world of hurt this morning. I mean, a world of hurt. Not only is he getting crushed on the migrant invasion, it's not a flow, it's not an influx, it's not a new wave. It is quite simply an invasion. Hundreds of thousands of people, 10 ,000 people a day are being met, greeted and turned loose. And those are the people that we see at the border. And President Biden got up at a fundraiser last night, repeated the same thing twice within two minutes. John Lemire of AP reporting, giving people pause. Then he went over to the Congressional Latino Caucus to address them. And he said this again. It's the Congressional Hispanic Caucus that he's talking to, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. A highlight from Could Oil and a Gov't Shutdown Screw Up Powell's Plans?

"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Friday, September 22nd, and today we are talking oil, macro, everything that could throw the economy off. But before we get to that, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link at the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. All right, friends, well, we are sort of continuing the macro story today that we picked up around Powell and the FOMC this week. And one of the questions that Powell was asked was about risks that threatened to knock the economy off course. Two that he mentioned that we're going to spend a little time on today include oil prices and a potential government shutdown. Let's start with oil first. The price of crude oil has steadily increased over the past four months. From a low of around $70 in June, oil reached almost $90 a barrel for the US -based WTI benchmark contract and $95 per barrel and $95 per barrel for international Brent crude earlier this week. The price increase for crude has driven US gas prices back above $3 .80 per gallon, the highest level since last October. Overall, gas prices have ramped up by 20 % since the beginning of the year, according to AAA. Now, there are a number of factors all contributing to steadily increasing oil prices since the June lows. The first is OPEC+. The economic group of oil producing nations led by Saudi Arabia and Russia have recently curbed output. Production cuts, which were agreed to late last year, have been gradually implemented over the past six months. In July, Saudi Arabia voluntarily cut an additional 1 million barrels per day from its production quota, about 10 % of its previous output. Existing production cuts across OPEC have already been extended into next year and analysts expect Saudi Arabia to extend their voluntary cuts until March. On Thursday, Russia further constrained supply by banning the export of diesel and petrol. Russia is one of the world's largest suppliers of diesel alongside their status as producing around 12 % of the global supply of crude oil. The International Energy Agency said last year that Russian refineries produce, quote, roughly double the diesel needed to satisfy domestic demand and typically export half their annual production. Analyst opinions focused on the simplest explanation for the ban, retaliation for sanctions. Henning Gloestien of the Eurasia Group said, Russia wants to inflict pain on Europe and the U .S. and it looks like they're now repeating the playbook from gas and the oil market ahead of the winter months. They're showing that they're not finished using their power over energy markets. The Kremlin said the ban was temporary and aimed at addressing rising energy prices in domestic markets. However, they gave no timeline on when the ban might be lifted. U .S. and European policymakers have largely banned the importation of Russian refined fuel since February, which has required Russian supply to be routed through third party regions including Turkey, North Africa and Latin America. Now, OPEC cuts over the past year were predicated on a weakening demand profile heading into this year. At the time they were announced, recessions were expected across Europe and the U .S. China was an open question with the potential of reopening pushed back in the midst of additional pandemic waves. But since then, the European economy is sputtering along, albeit with dismal manufacturing data out of Germany. The sanctioning of Russian supply has caused European demand to be displaced to other regions with refining capacity, largely India and the Middle East. In the U .S., recession has been continuously pushed off into the future and oil demand is now back at all time highs with no signs of slowing. Although the Chinese economy has hit some turbulence recently, oil demand remains robust. Analysts expect China's oil demand to remain high as Beijing secures strategically important resources. What's more, analysts expect China's oil demand to remain high as Beijing secures strategically important resources in part to mitigate geopolitical risks as well as to shore up its manufacturing and transportation industries. So with oil prices spiking, many are wondering whether the White House will once again intervene in markets using the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Between November 2021 and September of last year, the White House authorized a number of SPR releases. The final policy saw one million barrels per day provided into the market over six months. A small amount of oil was restocked earlier this year, but the SPR still sits at a little over half its pre -pandemic level. Earlier this week, a headline circulated proclaiming that quote, Biden says depleting SPR is on the table. This was later found to be a hoax with no legitimate source, but it demonstrates how difficult high oil prices could be for the U .S. economy heading into election season. To wit, many saw the SPR release as a political decision rather than an economic decision heading into the 2022 midterms. In the private sector, U .S. oil inventories have recently hit 40 -year lows of 46 -day supply, well below the longer -term average of 65 days. And while August's inflation reports already showed a small uptick due to oil -related prices, the effect is expected to be more profound across this month. Dario Perkins, an economist at T .S. Lombard said, That said, it is important to keep these recent inflationary developments in context. We are not yet in danger of undoing 12 months of solid disinflationary progress, not even close. Others suggested that high oil prices would have a greater impact on growth rather than inflation. Maya Bhandari, head of multi -asset at BNP Paribas Asset Management said, It really impacts the growth side of the Goldilocks equation rather than the inflation side of things over the long term. Theory is that sustained high oil prices begin to eat into disposable income for households alongside higher costs of production for manufacturing and logistics. These combine to reduce growth and potentially tip the economy into recession. Overall, this situation in the oil markets has, to some, many parallels to the liquid natural gas spike in the winter of 2022. Prices in some markets rose more than tenfold, European energy companies scrambled to secure supply at any cost, and multiple firms went bankrupt due to the volatility in markets. This week, Bloomberg reported that the trading arm of French supplier Total Energies has played a major role in bidding up the price of U .S.-based oil. Their source claimed that the firm is paying a premium for physical U .S. barrels, pushing the spread against futures to levels not seen since last November. With all of that said, there are some signs that the oil market is beginning to cool off. On Thursday, Brent crude futures fell to $92 per barrel, which represented the third straight day of price declines, which is the longest streak in almost a month. Warren Patterson, head of Commodity Strategy at ING, said the Fed's hawkish messaging has quote, put some pressure on risk assets, including oil. The dollar index has risen by 0 .8 % since Chair Powell left the podium, a large enough move to weigh on asset markets. Patterson said he still expects Brent crude to move above the $100 mark in the near term, but that he doesn't anticipate the move will be sustainable. So that is the view on oil overall. The thing that I am definitely going to be watching more than anything else is the political dimension of this. We are now entering the period where everything, even more than usual, is going to be completely wrapped up in what it means for the election season. If prices at the pump keep trending up, it seems very likely that the Biden administration will be willing to do what it takes, including SPR releases, to get those prices down. But that's just something we're going to have to keep an eye on. Now what about that other factor that Powell mentioned? Well yes, indeed, my friends, the US government is once again hurtling towards a shutdown after efforts to pass a short term spending bill were scuttled on the House floor on Thursday. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy attempted to marshal Republicans to vote through a package to keep the government funded past the end of September. Closed door negotiations continued late into Wednesday night, but were apparently unconvincing. The bill currently being considered is the $886 billion Defense Appropriations Act. The bill was stifled in the House after five GOP representatives refused to allow debate to begin by voting against a preliminary procedural rule. Democrats also voted against the measure and appeared to taunt Republicans apparently reveling in seeing the GOP's slim majority descend into chaos. Among the Republican dissenters was Marjorie Taylor Greene, who opposed the inclusion of $300 million in funding to the Ukrainian war effort. On Thursday, Politico reported that Pentagon sources have said Ukrainian operations have been exempted from any shutdown, making that part of the dispute rather moot. McCarthy sent House members home on Thursday night to return to Washington on Tuesday. He told reporters after the failed vote, quote, two people flipped, so I got to figure out how to fix that. That wasn't the impression they had given us. Now, this was McCarthy's third attempt at bringing the bill to the House floor. The current proposal on the table is a 31 -day stopgap funding mechanism to forestall a shutdown to begin next weekend. McCarthy remarked on the change in tone in Congress among that extreme element of the Republican Party, stating that, quote, this is a whole new concept of individuals that just want to burn the whole place down. Now, even if a 31 -day stopgap is passed in the House, it seems unlikely to make its way through the Democrat -controlled Senate. The bill includes a 30 percent temporary cut to domestic agencies and immigration law changes, neither of which are likely to get the seal of approval from Dems. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said instead of decreasing the chance of a shutdown, Speaker McCarthy is actually increasing it by wasting time on extremist proposals that cannot become law in the Senate. House Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries remarked that the situation was playing out as a, quote, Republican civil war. Now, if it comes to pass, this would be the 11th government shutdown since 1980. The logic is that hard -line positions that don't enjoy support in the Congress can be put directly to the American people by shutting down the government and drawing attention to the impasse. Republican Ralph Norman said last week that, quote, we're going to have a shutdown. We believe in what we're doing. The jury will be the country. Still, the record on government shutdowns doesn't really support that strategy. Not one of the 10 previous shutdowns resulted in the dissenting group extracting concessions. Typically, the American people quickly turn on the party they view as blocking access to government services over a petty squabble. Alex Conant, a Republican strategist, said, This is such a dumb fight because there's no principle that we're standing on here. It's just bad tactics. While the dispute is nominally over excessive government spending, with Republican dissenters pushing for funding to be reduced back to 2022 levels, the underlying problem is, of course, the level of discord within the Republican Party. McCarthy was voted in as House Speaker after a record 15 attempts. The process took four days and frequently descended into a farce. This was only the second time in the post -Civil War era that a House Speaker had failed to be elected on the first attempt. Conant noted the terrible optics of a government shutdown of the Republicans' own making heading into election season, stating that, quote, Biden didn't win because of his political skills and soaring oratory. He won because Republicans blew themselves up with Trump. I'm afraid we're seeing history repeat itself, with the GOP once again helping Biden by shooting themselves in the foot. Of course, never one to shy away from controversy, Trump fanned the flames on Wednesday, posting that, quote, Republicans in Congress can and must defund all aspects of Crooked Joe Biden's weaponized government that refuses to close the border and treats half the country as enemies of the state. He added that, quote, This is also the last chance to defund these political prosecutions against me and other patriots. They failed on the debt limit they must not fail now. Use the power of the person to defend the country. Now, zooming out and trying to get away from the politics of the situation, which obviously is not the focus of this show. The reason that this was brought up at last week's FOMC press conference is that a government shutdown would halt the publication of government data. This would include employment, inflation and growth statistics, which are currently playing a key role in guiding Fed policy. Now, given how much the Fed has said over and over again, their policy is going to be driven by data, presumably not having access to that data would be a fairly big deal. Yet in spite of that, Powell tried to put on a brave face, saying, If there is a government shutdown and it lasts through the next meeting, then it's possible we wouldn't be getting some of the data that we would ordinarily get and we would just have to deal with that. Now, by way of some history, the longest ever government shutdown lasted 35 days. The dispute was around funding for the border wall and quickly turned public sentiment against the Trump administration. Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate, but the administration failed to convince their own party to fund the wall. At the time, Democrat Senator Jon Tester called it the most stupid shutdown I have ever seen in my life. However, if this week's display is anything to go by, that 2019 shutdown could soon have some competition for that title. Now, what does this all have to do with the crypto sphere? Well, I think in many ways these are just exemplary of the state of politics in general. And given that, perhaps it's not surprising that former Senator Pat Toomey is not optimistic about the chances of crypto legislation being passed during this Congress. Just prior to retiring from Congress at the beginning of the year, Toomey introduced his own crypto bill, which focused on stablecoin regulations. Now, the House currently has two major crypto bills eligible to be brought for a vote. One would establish a stablecoin framework while the other introduces more broad crypto regulations. While speaking at a Georgetown Law Seminar on Thursday, however, Toomey said, I don't see a path forward in the Senate regardless of how the vote goes in the House. He added that of the two, he sees the stablecoin legislation as having the best shot. The sticking point will likely be Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown. While Brown has been outspoken about the risks of crypto and the need to bring the industry to heel, he has so far remained extremely quiet on exactly what form of legislation would meet his approval. And of course, any crypto legislation would need the support of Democratic senators to pass a vote to become law. Still, during an interview on Thursday, Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad said that she thinks that Brown's lack of commitment to a legislative position might actually be a good thing. Shirzad said, Now, last week, Brown wrote a letter to head regulators at multiple agencies urging them to use their existing powers to crack down on non -compliant crypto firms. This of course seems to be the clear intention, at least at the SEC. On Tuesday, the head of that agency's crypto assets and cyber unit, David Hirsch, warned that more enforcement actions would be coming against crypto intermediaries, including DeFi protocols. Still, Toomey, who serves now as an advisor to Coinbase, views stablecoin legislation as the solvable problem. At the moment, Democrats are pushing for the Fed to serve a central role in regulating issuers rather than granting oversight power to state regulators. This preference is believed to be driven by the White House. Toomey said, He thinks that senior Democrats will get on board once the White House is satisfied with the stablecoin proposal. Although that proposal might have to wait until after the election, as Toomey said in the next Congress, I think it's quite possible to get something done.

Rep. McCarthy Frustrated After GOP Hardliners Push for a Shutdown

"A significant increase in securing the southern border and the northern border. And you turn that down, when 214 of your colleagues, including the vast majority, overwhelming majority conservatives, including the Freedom Caucus, are all in? What's your game None. plan? You don't shut down the government with no game plan. Because you know what happens then? Somebody else comes up with a game plan. Like the in Democrats the House, yanking a few of these Republican reprobates over and getting their budget passed. And you already have McConnell and the majority Republican senators who have sold out to Schumer and Biden. So you don't shut down the government. So, when you have this tiny majority and you have a plan that's put forth that slashes the government at the domestic level bigger than any plan that I've ever seen anybody from and seeks to secure the southern border, why would you throw that away? And if the Senate isn't going to support and fight over that, then you have something concrete, something tangible to fight over. and spending major steps towards the securing the border, defending the military spending, defending that's a winner to me as a conservative.

A highlight from 676:GOP vs CBDCs, JPEXs Collapse, and Vivek Ramaswamys Crypto Vow

"Good evening and welcome to The Crypto Overnight -er. I'm Nickademus, and I will be your host as we take a look at the latest cryptocurrency news and analysis. So sit back, relax, and let's get started. And remember, none of this is financial advice. And it's 10 p .m. Pacific on Tuesday, September 21st, 2023. Welcome back to The Crypto Overnight -er. Yes, but we do have the news, so let's talk about that. Tonight, we're diving deep into the House Republicans' latest move against central bank digital currencies. We'll also unpack the turmoil surrounding JPEGs in Hong Kong and what it means for global crypto regulation. GOP presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy has some bold plans for crypto policy, and you'll want to hear them. Meanwhile, the Republic of Korea grapples with a significant offshore crypto stash, and PayPal pushes its stablecoin into Venmo. And don't go away, we have an update on the never -ending Mt. Gox saga. House Republicans advanced a bill opposing U .S. central bank digital currency efforts. The bill, known as the CBDC Anti -Surveillance State Act, aims to prevent the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC to individuals. It was introduced by Representative Tom Emmer and has gained the support of 60 members in Congress. The bill has passed the House Financial Services Committee and will next face a congressional vote. Democrats, led by Maxine Waters, criticized the bill. Waters renamed it the CBDC Anti -Innovation Act and argues that it could threaten the U .S. dollar status as the global reserve currency. The bill has also faced scrutiny for its language and its impact on CDBC research. The Federal Reserve has been exploring the possibility of issuing a CDBC, but is not close to developing one. Some conservative politicians, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, have taken strong positions against CDBCs. The bill prevents the issuance of a CDBC without an act of Congress. This aligns with the Federal Reserve's stance. The committee rejected amendments to the bill and passed it, recommending it to the full House on a vote of 27 to 20. The advancement of the CBDC Anti -Surveillance State Act is a significant move in the ongoing battle over financial privacy and government control. Emmer's bill is a clear attempt to seize as an overreach by the Biden administration. His concerns about CDBCs turning into surveillance tools echo a broader distrust of government power. Maxine Waters' opposition to the bill highlights a divide not just among politicians, but also in the nation. Her renaming of the bill to the CDBC Anti -Innovation Act suggests that Democrats see CDBCs as a potential innovation, not a threat. However, her stance could be seen as naive, especially when considering the potential for CDBCs to be used for mass surveillance, as is the case in China. The bill's passage to the House Financial Services Committee is a telling sign of the times. It reflects a growing skepticism about the role of centralized financial systems and a preference for decentralized solutions. The rejection of amendments to the bill, especially those that would allow the Federal Reserve to study the Chinese digital yuan, indicates a reluctance to even explore centralized digital currencies. All that said, I don't see it passing. I've said many times that when crypto becomes a left versus right issue, both sides lose. The same thing goes for CDBCs. This bill likely doesn't stand a chance of becoming law because I don't see it passing the Senate. As divided as Congress is, I don't see the two sides putting down their torches and pitchforks long enough to do some good for the country. From lawmakers playing defense against CDBCs in the U .S. to a complete offensive on crypto exchanges in Hong Kong. Next up, the whirlwind around JPEGs. "And now that they're dealing with, they dealt with some of the things they did deal with with their kids in schools or day cares. I couldn't agree with you. I think the shame of it again not to repeat the theme is, unfortunately, a lot of those people are down in Florida now, right? They picked up, they got the hell out. If you look at the Florida school systems, by the way, although still challenges, and you're still going to have left wing nut job teachers that get stuck in the system. The state of Florida has gone from 40th to third now. An SAT scores. I mean, they're on the road path to be number one when it comes to SAT scores. And again, going back to actual facts, okay. Well, that's to me is a big deal, right? Like it's working. It's going in the right direction. It's still not perfect, but it's going in the right direction. While you continue to see New York drift down and down and down. And of course, the old school argument used to be well. We've got the best schools. Well, that's all crap now. That's not true. When it comes to the argument, I don't feel like the Republican Party did to your point. We should bring more data, right? That's what Bobby jindal did very well in Louisiana. So you remember he invoked a charter or a voucher system in the state. And Obama and Eric holder, the two racists that they were. Sued them because again, under the claim of equity, I always love this equity, right? Well, it wasn't equitable they claimed. So they sued the state to block it because they claim that only the non minority kids would take advantage of it. It was an opportunity that they saw it for white kids to get out of failing minority districts. But what Bobby jindal was, okay, fine, I'll meet you in court. When he showed up, he showed that 98% of the people taking advantage of the vouchers were actually the minority kids, black and Hispanic that were their parents were dying. They would chew off their own arm to get them out of the failing school district and into a better school district.

"And they're having a struggle. Orchard parks have a struggle. I mean, if Orchard parks haven't struggled, could you imagine what the heck is in the city of buffalo school boards? And in the outlining that cheek the log of school boards and stuff like that. To me, I'm thinking, a Georgia park, they're going to replace these nut jobs in a heartbeat. And then they don't. The other scary thing you look at is the enrollment numbers. You start to see the class sizes getting smaller with the younger classes, and what does that tell you? That tells you what the future is going to look like when class at ordinarily graduates 400 is now down to three 20, two 90. And hopefully it gets to be zero at some point. These communities are shrinking because people are getting the hell out of here. And I'm sure down in Florida, they're having the opposite problem where they got to build new wings because all of our all of our good hardworking families are moving down there. Yeah, yeah, but even in Florida, there's been a tremendous amount of people that have pulled their kids out of the school system in favor of homeschooling. It's been a record in Florida. It's been a record in New York. It's been a record on a national level because the parents don't want what the garbage that they're teaching these kids. One of the things that the left those very successfully is a file lawsuits left right and center. And that might be something the Republicans should consider when it comes to I mean, look, there's a teacher that I'll play the video later in the podcast that she was sued by the national education by the NEA. The national union, school teachers union, right? Because she filed freedom of information requests for the kindergartners curriculum. They're aggressively back to the point of being aggressive and carrying a big stick. Is there no background checks anymore for some of these teachers? I mean, I'm just shocked at a community like an Orchard park or other communities where oftentimes we find out that these teachers are revealing things to kids that are just completely inappropriate and they haven't changed the laws of most of these states. There are indecency laws of things like that. And yet in most states, New York included, it's just nobody yells about it. There's silence and Republican Party. In Florida, desantis steps up and goes, oh, no, no. We're opening up an investigation. We're going to take your liquor license. You're shut down. You engaged in loot action in front of a minor. It says 18 and above. And he's got like there's invested people who go to jail for that in Florida. It's no joke. And Texas to hang, I think. In New York, you've got to really, really do something like shoot somebody and actually murder them to stay in trouble. But when it comes to gender identity or it comes to trans whatever parties with kids or whatever they're doing, there's no pushback. There's nobody. There's no voices of anybody. Outside of like, again, a Dave DPH, maybe.

"But she also, I think, is a young mom understands the issues that a lot of young moms and eerie county are dealing with. You know, the rising cost of food and groceries, as a homeowner, dealing with the property taxes that are sky high in this community. So I'm excited about the contrast and I think we're going to be able to put a real challenge to mark this November. I think I'm hoping she gets out there and I'm hoping she's a fighter. But I don't know anybody who likes my colon cars. I was honest to God. I don't know how he's not even, I thought he was going to resign, to be honest with you. I mean, after threatening a process server, right? I mean, to me, he's not even fit for office, to be honest with you. I mean, somebody who is and of course you add on just absolute competency of things like the blizzard, sadly, where we lost dozens of lives, and I'm sure that count was probably under. And then of course, we've made to add insult to injury. You point the finger at other people. Blaming other people for your failure and throwing them around them under the bus, which I thought was truly classless. You would hope she'd have a shot, right? But again, it seems like there's such an uphill battle in our county. How do you overcome that? Is she going to be able to Mike's point earlier, throw those haymakers and make the news so they have to cover her in a way? Because there's a black guy to me. We're not campaign managers and to me, I think you'd have to sort of bring back those memories of, hey, did you a restaurant? Did your gym get smell? I mean, you think about Mike. You think about those santas as messages though. It was about freedom. I think Lee Zelda's message was about safety and to be honest with you. So I think you're right. The message has got to be was your playground roped off, right? Yeah. A little bit different, though, that the Miami is now at a 90 year low crime rate. And we've got people we've got people getting shoved in front of subway trips. But look, I don't think that Christian all good. It's all for fairness. And he hesitancy being aggressive and, you know, obviously when she launched, she launched at a gym in clarence, who dealt with the shutdown, a friend of hers, a veteran owned business, she deals with a lot of businesses in her marketing firm. She's a rotarian. And I know she engages with a lot of business owners who are just punitively attacked by the county executive with arbitrary seemingly made up regulations. I mean, people were getting suddenly having the health department come visit them if they were speaking out into the media or anything like that. So I think people are still pissed off about a lot of that stuff. And you mentioned mark's personal look. I talked to maybe his county chairman, I speak to less of them, but I talked to a lot of Democrats who don't like Mark. He doesn't play nice in the sandbox. He's not an affable guy. I think there are plenty of people in his own party who would love to see him go.

"Police officer. With just him trying doors to let him in so he can take some photos in the Senate chamber. These guys serving four years in prison. That's not right. That's a setup. And honestly, if you want a future of the Republican Party, I know you're an eerie county. It's not a federal thing for you. But honestly, you talk to these folks, right? If we want a future in this country, there's got to be some level of accountability. You can't have political prisoners that were set up and we have audio and a Mitch McConnell comes out. This is why I haven't given to the Republican Party outside of Lake as Louis Zelda directly or David D Pietro. But the Senate Republican committee calls not a chance. No way in hell. That's got to be a huge wall to climb for you. There's so many Republicans just pissed off and frustrated. And again, hopefully with Chris Jacobs, the last thing he does is drop a gun control bill. How dare you? Just go away quietly though. What is that? It's a backhanded slap across the face for what reason. I mean, the Republican Party should have stepped up and chastised them for that. They were silent. That's pathetic. Well, listen, I'm not sure where to start there, but I guess I do a lot of joy. You know what all that's all right. We realize Mike, I know it's not you realize right here in your economy. No, no, no. Yeah, we realize you're in your economy. It's like what my family does to me now at the time I go. No, I mean, starting with the January 6th. I mean, I think part of it is the party we talked about this week and the party has got to be aggressive and be on offense. And I think from the beginning, this whole situation was set up to just be a hammer that the left could continue to use on the Republican Party, you know, Liz Cheney, I think, played a pretty prominent role on the Republican side. And we set up this process that was sort of designed to shame the Republican Party, and now there's being some holes Pope in the January 6th commission and I don't know why we would have leaders in Washington who are still kind of

"I was still involved in the party at a junior level back then, but look, one of my goals is county chairman is to try to bring new people, younger people, build a bench of candidates when you look at the elected Republicans in the county. You know, we have really good people, but who am I running for office not just this year, but in 8 years, ten years, you know, we got to start thinking about the future when we make decisions because, you know, for a while, you're right. We did sort of cycle through the same four names for county white office. And they're good people. I'm not here to criticize them. But we have to build the next generation of countywide leaders or state senators or Congress members. And that doesn't just happen. You got to invest in it now because it takes a few years to develop. Mike, are you familiar with audit New York at all? I am familiar. I have never had a direct conversation with them, but I know what their goals are. Okay. Because it seems to me, if you look at some of those numbers that they're coming up with, that it really might not matter who your candidate is. Yeah, I mean, I get that. I mean, obviously my existence would be pretty depressing if I went into my job thinking I can't be successful. But I do think we need to take ballot security and voter integrity seriously. You talk about my role with the state legislature. You know, I see it every day. The Democrats and Albany passing laws that they claim are in the interests of good government that are really designed to make it easier to vote. I mean, hell, they've got a law to allow non U.S. citizens to vote in municipal elections. So anybody who says this is just Republican fear mongering, you know, it seems like we're allowed to say this. I think that's bullshit. This is a real problem. And we have, but I take the position, I have to try to win races and elect good people to office so that they're in a position of authority to change some of what's going on. I wonder, now this is more of a state issue, but I just, to me, I've just wondered why the state Republican Party has not embraced audit New York. I mean, if their numbers are correct, which I've gone through them with multiple people, Republicans should have won a lot of races over the last bunch of years. And to me as a Republican party, I would be committed to say, hey, wait a minute. If we've got fraud in the system, which is what it appears to be. And a disconnect, Glen and I run a multiple hundreds of millions of dollars registered investment advisory firms.

"That's just because I got to get that I got to get that exposure. That's what Chris Collins used to do. Chris was good. Chris would go on CNN. I mean, that's a ballsy move. On a regular basis. Yeah. No, listen, I mean, I think part of it also, I think, is regional, right? Lee was really fighting on the ground in places that we don't see in your county. You know, he was on the streets in Brooklyn talking to the orthodox community, you know, somebody who's being literally shut down. They're trying to close these religious schools out of Albany and Lee was on the ground with those folks in Asian American communities. And that's why you saw that big shift. So I will give him some credit. I think maybe we out in West New York didn't see sort of that street fight as much because I think a lot of that was happening in places like Brooklyn and queens, but we did put him out quite a bit nearly county. I would have loved to have more who wouldn't. But I also love that Alison esposito. You want to talk about a scrapper holy cow. She was tough as nails and I hope we haven't seen the last of her. It's funny because I wrote down was the aggressive enough and I'm Mike asked the exact question. That's why I held up the paper. The fact that we share the same brain is you literally asked exact questions I was going to ask. You guys have been working together. This is a little quicker. Mine takes a little bit longer process. But God gives you what I tend to agree with Mike though. I don't know that he needed to throw some haymakers. He had some opportunities to make some make the press, right? Make PR, right? Make the news, I mean, my gosh, he was attacked. And it was like off the on stage. And it was immediately out of the news. There were some opportunities there for him to, again, a la Carl palladino. You really got to throw some haymakers, I think. If you're going to have any chance whatsoever. See, I would have asked for her to be arrested. Whatever. Absolutely. And being part of the whole, whatever name is on the Tesla building down top. But that whole debacle. I mean, you're talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars that millions of dollars. The millions of dollars that we knew it was a scam, right? That money ended up back into her direct link to her boss's coffers. And I mean, if I was Lee, I would, I mean, and you guys, if I was a candidate, or Glen was a candidate you probably would have said, no, you guys are way too radical, but to win in New York State. I mean, you really have to, you've got to hit some three pointers, man. You got to show up and go 24 for 24 from the three point line. And I think there was a missed opportunity there. Again, I would have gone on the view, I would have said she should be in jail. For what they did to taxpayer money for the waste that happened during COVID. We're still throwing out millions of dollars worth of stuff. The conflicts of interest. I mean, the lies and I don't know anything about the donation. Well, you're at their house last week, Kathy, I don't know if you remember that. Here's the picture. Oh my gosh. Here's the picture. "Of the Erie county Republican committee in October of 2022. He has spent his career in service to the Republican Party, a former executive director of the Erie county GOP. And senior congressional aide Michael has served in the Republican leadership positions at local state and federal level. I think you're still with rob ort, right? That's correct. Yeah, I work for the senator as senior adviser. Senior adviser, that sounds really important. So anytime we throw senior, and that's what happens in the financial world. It's funny. I won the title promotion, but what that amounts to at home. Glen and I, we started out the business at a company called paine Weber. And the deal was as you were either a regular adviser or that you were a vice president. And so a lot of my buddies, one of our buddies got that title of vice president. I'm like, so let me get this straight. If the president dies, you go up there, do you go to New York City and run this place? No, there was like so many. I don't think that's I don't think that's our chain. Unfortunately. So let me start with a question. I know Glen's got a bunch free as well. The Republican Party, at least for me, has been something that has been fading in the distance. I'm still a registered Republican. I talk about actually de registering and moving to being an independent or a conservative. To me, I see the Mitch Morris out there. I see the Mitt Romney's out there. And I just get sick and tired of, well, hey, we're going to have smaller government and lower taxes until we get into office. And then our big plan is better than their big plant. Where is the Erie county Republican Party? And I know this shit show is new to you. And I'll just say you don't have to say that, but I think you've been handed a pile of shit and God bless you for stepping up because I either you're highly medicated or you're extremely extremely brave to take that position. But where is the Republican? Where is your economy Republican Party? Because we glad I been talking about this for years. They all tell us their conservative.

"Stood out to me were the Proud Boys because these guys wanted to be lionized for their violence. They wanted to talk to the press. They were proud of what they did. And so focusing on them turned out to be a good bet because now they orbit so many acts of political violence, including January 6. And so as January 6th was happening and as they continued their violence, despite a lot of their leaders going to jail, I realized that this is the warning shot that we need to write that going forward. This cycle of political violence held aloft by the GOP and media is going to continue. And so that's why I wrote it. Is there a typical demographic of an individual who is a proud boy? Proud Boys are of a lot of ideologies. There's neo Nazis and people of color within them, but the majority of them are white guys who are angry and want to fight out Trump's grievances. How much is also that they feel like they've just been left behind in this economy. I think there's an element of that. But again, it's the violence that they're aiming for through those grievances. You know, as I was thinking about you coming on, listening to your talk. I mean, is this our Ku Klux Klan in terms of our times Ku Klux Klan, is that how we need to think about it? There are absolute comparisons to be made. I mean, this is a force that is racist at its core. They've made inroads with politics and they've made inroads with the American public. But with the Klan you have to remember, the Klan didn't lose power because people rebuffed them. The Klan lost power because so much of the American public shared that ideology that they weren't really needed anymore. And that's the fear going forward with these guys is that enough people are going to see political violence as it normalized option in politics that the Proud Boys may not be needed. You say racist, but it's not all just white members. Right. All Proud Boys are not just white. I get asked about this a lot. And the Proud Boys, first of all, they're racist at their core, right? Gavin gave them a tenant that they have to accept if they join. Anybody can join, but they have to accept that white men are responsible for the success of the west. And there are people of color. There are also neo Nazis in the Proud Boys, but they are all gathering under this banner of getting to fight out their rage in the street against the left and against Trump's opponents. And that can create strange bedfellows, just last weekend, Nazis joined Proud Boys in Texas for a drag queen story hour event they were protesting. And also on top of that, the very few people of color that are members of the Proud Boys are held aloft constantly by the Proud Boys as evidence that they're not racist. They're not white supremacists. And that is served to put a veil in front of them when they're confusing the media and law enforcement. Hey, Andy, over the summer, back in June, we saw footage emerge from Idaho about the patriot front. Gathering to protest an LGBTQ event. And I'm wondering where the relationship is between patriot front, Proud Boys and other sort of right-wing extremists help us kind of untangle that web. This is a machine and a cycle of extremism that we're seeing in front of us right now. For example, QAnon conspiracy theorists and Alex Jones type plant a seed that satanic pedophiles in the form of drag queens are coming for your children. Donald Trump and Fox News sanitize and grow that seed for their audiences, push it out to millions of people. And then the extremist street groups, like the Proud Boys, patriot front, oath keepers who are also big on January 6th come to burn it all down. And so the Proud Boys I see them as both normalizers of political violence, but also the pointy

Breaking quorum is about the equivalent of crawling on our knees begging the president in the united states congress to give us the four the people act and give us the john lewis voting rights act another texas official representative errands. Weiner said we did our part to stop. Sp seven now. We need congress to do their part. Said you explain what these different bills are. I want to go into a larger warning about what we're up against. So people understand the enemies justification for instance in screenwriting screenwriting. What oh one you always have to have your villain justify in their minds why they do what they do and i wanted to enter together because safer together the minds of the autocrats that were up against because they are extraordinarily skilled and very well organized and they organize through religion. The organized who catholicism eight form of catholicism again i friends who are catholic who are progressive. So i don't wanna put when we mentioned religion in the context of republicans. You know. we're talking about wine bar right So i'm gonna just go down a what we're up against in terms of the main arena which is voting rights which is if we lose our voting rights if biden and democratic leadership allow us to become a voter suppressed country. It's game over so now to enter the minds of what we're up against and what needs to be done about all this So one thing to know. Is that an october twenty twenty when we're all busy. Trying to defeat aspiring autocrat carrying out a coup senator mike lee of utah wrote an op bed and that op-ed which will link to the show notes available always patron page for this week's episode that op-ed is called of course we're not a democracy. He published this in a first things. Dot com which is a catholic site founded by a roman catholic priest who was a close advisor to george w bush it's hugely influential site among republicans among conservatives and shows how republican party of william f. buckley a staunch catholic and the founder of the now shore view lives on mike lees. Essay is a modern day. Version of william buckley's nineteen fifty seven essay. Why the south must prevail. Where buckley argue that. The white race is the superior race and therefore must do whatever it takes to rule over black people now. Buckley went on to become horrified by the extent to which his ideas were carried out in practice including being critical of the nineteen. Sixty three birmingham church bombing by white supremacists that killed four girls ages. Eleven and fourteen. Buckley was reportedly horrified by that terrorist attack and blamed alabama's trumpian governor george wallace. But who did buckley thinks he's inspiring when he wrote why the south must prevail buckley's long career set off the bomb in birmingham just as much as the klan did which brings us back to the new version of why the south must prevail provided by senator mike lee who is the closest. The republican party has today to an intellectual in october. Twenty twenty. Mike lee wrote in his essay again for a hugely influential conservative catholic site. He wrote our system of government is best described. As a constitutional republic power is not found in mere majorities but in carefully balanced power under our constitution passing a bill in the house of representatives. The body most reflective of current majority views isn't enough for it to become law legislation must also be passed by the senate where each state is represented equally regardless of population where members have longer terms. And where under current rules a super majority vote is typically required to bring debate to a close thomas jefferson described the senate as quote the saucer that cools hot passions more prevalent in the house. It's worth consensus is forged. A senators reach compromise across regional cultural and partisan lines. Now i'm going to go back to the comment because this is me. Talking mike lees. Little piece is experts over now. This is extraordinary writing. It's gas lighting. Instead of doing what. Buckley did in one thousand nine hundred fifty seven and argue plainly for white supremacy and voter suppression. Mike lee in two thousand and twenty is leaving out the fact that several districts that decide who goes to the house of representatives in congress had been severely gerrymandered by republicans which gives rise to far right extremism in congress and the gerrymander districts. Republicans don't need to worry about a fair contest than general election. They just need to worry about winning. The primary and pandering to the republican base. Republican gerrymandering is chipping away at the checks and balances in the house of representatives. Mike lee also conveniently leaves out that. The senate was a controversial body for the founding fathers because how bear was at the time to give smaller states the same amount representation as more populous states but it got pushed through to the benefit of largely rural agrarian slave owning states. And that imbalance of power lead to more imbalance of power as a slave. Owning states of the south like south carolina normalized the abuse the filibuster. Tim beat progress for black people. In america and the filibuster gets used the same effect for the same reasons today the filibuster as a weapon of white supremacy invented by controversial body and again the senate as genton explain to us on the show was modeled on the house of lords in the united kingdom if you follow gasoline nation. We've explained how great britain is awash right now with the russian. All blood money. You had a lordship in the house of lords essentially purchased by a russian oligarch and all of that in turn hold that russia blood money including buying power in the house of lords that chips away at a nation sovereignty. And that's what the uk is facing. You had kremlin-influenced tipping the brexit. Vote you have the uk. Failing to hold. Putin's mass burning regime accountable. Even.

"How are they going to use that on the campaign trail. Well look anyone who pays attention to politics on. The republican side shouldn't be surprised. Mean it's not like only immigrants. Are you know a favor. The democrats There lots of immigrants on the republican side. I don't know that it's really gonna matter at the end of the day. I think it matters in the sense of introducing yourself as a candidate and and certainly you know jason. Ours has to do that. But i don't know that it gives any particular electoral advantage. Come november for either. Jason myers or winsome sears. To have a family immigrated from cuba or being an immigrant from jamaica. I think at the end of the day. Voters are going to vote on on larger debates policy oriented debates between the candidates And if the personal biographical story in some way amplifies the larger policy debates that are being had then it helps beyond that. I think it's just a part of their biography. One more question Which is jackie mentioned. This and we also heard mary's talk about it and the sound clip which is qualified immunity. The republicans are against it and they've been really clear. Yung-chen is on the record now being a against reforming qualified immune in other words young is for preserving qualified immunity forever as when he said in his speech and the press of course is also for preserving qualified immunity. Jackie clearly the democrats want reform. Here they have not been able to do it so far but they're hoping after this election they might have some success. How do you think that issue is going to play on the campaign trail this year. I think it is absolutely fascinating. How much space qualified. Immunity has already taken up in this conversation Especially given the fact that you know. Moderate democrats have shot this down and at least why just in the last year amid the greatest push for police reform that you know arguably we've seen in modern history on where seeing this be central to the platforms of you know everyone base. I think all of the democratic gubernatorial candidates including terry mcauliffe which is interesting because governor noem has taken a strong stand on this at all You know we saw a j jones really With federal herring on this at one point saying you know we have taken a public stance now. Herring has and has said he does. Embrace were forming qualified immunity in clearly. You know this is an area where jason is is really trying to hammer down on as well as well as You know glenn young. And i think you know thoroughly. Police reform is still top of mind for a number of voters. I think that It's it's right up there with the main talking points with refund the police Which obviously a number of moderate democrats if not most democrats in virginia have rejected outright. already so i think it will. I think it probably plays a big role in recruiting people who already are saudi on this issue. Who are up to date on a criminal. Justice reform conversation not said it's also an interesting critique because again Republicans are choosing to harp on things that many democrats have rejected even as a state democratic party. Best asked a slew of other controversial criminal justice and least arms you know in the last year or in so i think it's an interesting choice though. Not a not a surprising considering they are two the most controversial hot-button talking points that we've seen nationwide not just for you in the sound clip that we played from jason as he wisely did not use the words qualified immunity which is super wonky and it sort of resonates with listeners to this podcast but for voters they'll say what so the way he said. It actually was pretty clever. Which is they pushed a law to make it possible for criminals to sue police officers into bankruptcy so sort of framing the issue without even using the words qualified immunity clinton kit. Is that going to play with voters yet. So i think this is an issue that we are going to hear about probably until election day and i think republicans you know from yongqin down. We'll talk about it for this reason. Republicans and republican voters are are uniformly opposed to any changes to the qualified immunity laws as they exist democrats on the other. Hand are largely divided As jackie mentioned you know the moderate side of the democratic coalition is opposed to it The watson center had a forum the other day with senator. Tommy norman senator. Dick zaslov the majority minority leaders. Dick zaslov made it clear that as long as he's in the senate he's going to be Sort of a break tapper on a lot of things a lot of issues like this in so it's great for republicans candidates to push an issue like this because when you push something like this you're going to get a response from the progressive side of the democratic electric in their candidates who wanna see the reform and then you're going to get the moderate side the democrat coalition saying well no. We don't really support that. And so you elevate an issue that your voters care about and in the process of doing at that you create a wedge in among democrats and so. I think we'll hear this about this issue from here into election day. Yeah and speaking of election over sixty seventy percent of all likely voters in virginia support the democratic position on the policy issues that get people out to the polls so while this is fascinating discussion on who. These nominees are for the republican party. The reality is they are so far from where most virginians are on issues. They're going to have to do a lot of work just to make themselves appealing to voters. Who have rejected them three or four election cycles in a row since two thousand nine Yeah i think in general. If we back up i mean. We don't even know who the democratic slate is yet. But if we backup in just look at virginia. Generally i would call virginia a two to four percent democratic state maybe two to five percent democratic state overall and so republicans are going to have to overcome what i would consider to be a slight democratic structural advantage in the elected anyway and then on a lot of the issues. Democrats in the general assembly have pushed the last session. Two sessions in special sessions there is widespread support among registered voters for those issues however not every registered voter turns out and votes in november. And so it's really a matter of who turns out to vote. And what those voters care about. That's gonna make the difference in november between whether we have a republican governor or a democratic governor. Come next january. That's where i've been getting all the soundbites that we've been using so i don't have that kind of sound from him but he does have several videos on youtube and this is how he introduces himself on youtube whether you're white black or the first generation going like me we're all responsible to make this wonderful country work. We have to demand our leaders fight for small businesses. Excellence in education and keeping up police funded on neighborhoods are safe yet. Another immigrant story. What do we make this introduction. Pony is an activist who has been involved in republican. Party specially in fairfax virginia for several years actually probably a couple of decades and he has been involved in trying to build the immigrant base Within the republican party and he's done some good work however unfortunately all that work was eroded in the last few years and whatever work he did like the work that i did is no longer a useful or applicable To elections today so again another immigrant story and other feel-good story yet an electorate. That really doesn't care for despite claiming that they do. Yeah i think he's got good instincts on what he wants to care about issues. Small business education know and police funding as a misunderstanding of what the policy is actually is being proposed but you know until the republican party can pivot and be pro-immigrant allies. Just running in the wrong race now in terms of issues thomas. You just mentioned several. He hit up there in his youtube. Introduction one issue that he has a whole separate youtube video about and this is a theme among these candidates is critical race theory. I have a prediction that throughout this campaign season we're going to hear republicans talking about critical race theory. So this is what he had to say about it in his video on this subject. Critical race series. America's hopelessly tainted by the boys of racism. And how does that prepare children to be. Scientists engineers poyet's and teachers doesn't critical race. Terry has been thoroughly discredited. All in does teach children to divide to hate to see themselves as victims oppressors. It leads to lower achievement and more quotas. America conley lead the world when we don't even believe in our values but that's what leftist progressive warrenton. Virginia david ramadan. Is this really an issue that is going to resonate with people on the campaign trail. Why is everybody talking about this Because there is a lack off. Resignation issues This is this is going to backfire. No it's not gonna It's gonna backfire and this reminds me of the fight. The republican side had put up against climate change in accepting the fact that there is climate change. Now we need a new issue so okay. This fits within the this. This charged atmosphere So let's play this once. One of them plays that everybody plays and becomes a snowball effect. It will backfire. It's not it's not a general election issue. It's a it's probably the smallest of the smallest issue that's gonna work four convention as well and I don't think we'll we'll hear much of it after As backfires in general elections Except among the extreme segment of the party which does not want us. He's he's simply here is again plan to the to the atmosphere of today's election which really has been referred to a silly season before and and i agree it silly season and will continue to be silly season until the conventions over. Yeah i mean. I don't know how you could possibly save critical race series been thoroughly discredited when it's white supremacy was the very tenant upon which many institutions were founded in this country and it just is what it is. It doesn't say anything about the generations who are alive today whether they'd benefit from it or they don't benefit from it. It's just a simple fact. And yeah. It was so pervasive as we peel back the onion layers. We come to understand. Just how much it's influenced and to me the strikes me similarly to you. David this is just another republican. Sticking their head in the sand look putting on my shore. School had again. It's a theory by definition is theory is an idea that is open for discussion. You agree with you can disagree with you could show evidence for or against but this is not you know h two o chemistry that you could simply discredit or simply proof. So a claim that it's a discredited theory is not up to par on an intellectual level. Yeah also point out that being on the opposite side of the civil rights movement and activists is not where you want to be in twenty twenty one and yet another shout for the sharks excellent job. David ramadan your check in the mail. Okay so the last candidate we're going to talk about is maeve regular now. She did not appear on the chasing freedom forum and she doesn't have a youtube channel in fact she doesn't appear to have much of an online presence at all. She did run way back in the year. "No it will. Not but glenn has no other choice but to do this. Not only because he believes it and he's right in the general election. The only way republican could win even though it's still a very far could in today's gel atmosphere regardless the republican is a republican could win if republican is in the middle in the general election. However for glenn out he has no other choice but to do this in addition to being right above the general glenn's voting record is not solid conservative record. He has been courageous in had voted for gay rights. He had voted on. Labor issues had voted on work issues and therefore he could not even if you wanted to position himself as the far right candidate and thus he is going for you know. Hail mary my mind here glen bell a friend of mine who is a member of my small business development caucus in the house. And he's going for hail. Mary on okay. If the vote is split among all the ones that are splitting the right vote. Is there a chance of people. Go for the number two on the ballot Are they gonna divide enough that vote that he may be able to squeeze in and if all fails than nominate. David ramadan frail g. As as i joked on twitter yesterday when his staff of hashtag david for l. g. instead of davis forever. You know this is probably not the worst strategy for a ranked choice ballot I mentioned just a minute ago that you need to win the suburbs in order to win an election and yeah he is definitely not the most conservative he is not ideologically partisan and that is going to play well and the moderate suburbs You know the problem. He has just one of numbers. The number of voters who identify republican over the last four years have diminished to the point that it's just you know the hardcore extreme believers so will any of those people that glenn davis really needs to win and list him as number one or two on their ballot. Even be there in the first place is it's an open question. Your the ranked choice dynamic is all theoretical at this point. We really haven't seen it play out this way so it's gonna be fascinating to watch now on. Glenn davis like many of these candidates. This is another running theme that will have many of them have an immigrant story on the campaign trail. He talks about his great grandfather. Emigrated from italy He also talks about losing his job. Nineteen ninety nine living in a one bedroom apartment where he started. It company he also has this story about his childhood that speaks to his agenda. I remember being nine years old sitting on a couch one night when the phone rang. And my daddy. It was about my uncle william and my uncle. William were did a convenience store about a mile from where i live today that it was robbed. He was taken back and he was murdered. And i remember. My family said weeks after that they. They said that he probably did it before. Because it was before incensing. Abolition of parole. It wish mcelwain had his firearm on him. Because he's still with us today but they never blend ghazi never said we needed more gun. Control that this is a political origin story that weaves together gun rights with truth in sentencing. All these candidates talk about defending the second amendment. But glenn davis has this personal story. Will this resonate with voters yet will to a certain extent though within that small universe of republican electorates that are gonna participate in upcoming conventions in in may there is a segment that are one issue voters and that's the second amendment voters and that will resonate but would be enough to win number of those voters who are also very interested in other social issues. Which davis is not strong on. I doubt that that will be the case. You know speaking as a hard core. Democrat glenn davis actually gives me the least amount of heartburn and that's simply because i've watched him work by the way he's been a guest on transition virginia before and listen to our show regularly and he is somebody that democrats could negotiate with if he were to become lieutenant governor so of all the republicans in this race. I i see davis as the one that could actually bring the republican party forward and stand a chance of winning in the general one thing that he talks about that really. I find kind of striking is that he will as lieutenant governor. He will literally use the platform. Being lieutenant governor will actually speak out about issues there in the senate chamber. This is what he had to say about that. You know it's not just good enough. Republicans to say no it. Republicans to stand up and share. Why so as lieutenant governor. But you'll see from the days up there doing that. You will to cox about stepping down from the day to get a speech about life. Well rb darned it might keep my mouth when it comes to the second amendment. So what he's talking about there is in the last session when republicans were in power just before they lost it. All kirk cox was speaker of the house and he got down off the diet to give a speech from his ceremonial seat on the house. Floor opposing abortion rights. So if glenn davis is elected lieutenant governor who literally be presiding over the senate sessions where he could theoretically give a speech about any topic whenever he wants So what do we make of. The potential for glenn davis to be disruptive on the senate floor and giving speeches about the second amendment and maybe other things it classic case of comparison between leadership styles glenn mentions famous act by former speaker costs who decided to step down from day to speak about important issue of personally and was i remember that speech. It was very emotional was very personal however the optics of it in the way it was done it actually walked down the speakership in demonstrated really no other way to say it. But a lack of leadership by cox the time it's arguably the same light leadership had reached a despite how how good of a man is in service in his long-term service to virginia and as a delegate as teacher and so on a he didn't have that charisma even seen by his here one of his colleagues today former member of his caucus who elected him speaker saying that wasn't leadership the new leadership or the leadership style should be using the days. And as as lieutenant governor. I would stand up there and do so is what glenn davis say. That's a classic textual leadership compares in style that i teach to my students at george mason of the sharp school. And that's a huge difference between your old guard in the new guard among virginia. Republicans even though. They're both running at the same time today. The old garden new guard are both still competing for positions in leadership of this forty regardless how dwindling.
