Rizzo delivers go-ahead hit, injures neck as Yanks chase Darvish early in 10-7 win over Padres

Garrett Cole allowed 6 runs, but he survived for the win he 6 O. This was a good team win today for sure. I mean, being able to kind of subdue them through the middle innings and keep the momentum. And former, this is always weird to me, Chase Blackburn, who I covered in as a young giant speed reporters or special teams coordinator, which is just, you know, special teams is what it is. But Larry Izzo was that guy for me when Larry Izzo became like a special teams coordinator, it like blew me away because he was like, he was like the special team. He's like the Chase Blackburn of the Patriots teams that I covered way back in the day. I feel like someone like Josh McCown doesn't count like when he's going to be a head coach next year and everyone's like, oh, that's so weird. I covered him. But he also played for like 90 years and for a million. That's like a super fast track too. Yeah. Yeah, that's different. But like, man, when some of these like, especially the super cool, like Chase Blackburn, right, the guys that you would actually give you the time of day, you know, and, and talk to you as a young beat reporter. And you're like, God, that guy is, he's like in a whole different phase of his life. I guess I am too, you know, Izzo, Izzo has one of the best stories of all time. Have you heard this one? So Shelby, you can cut this if you think it's inappropriate and we can kind of work around this. But Bill Belichick once gave Larry Izzo a game ball. I think this isn't like 04 or 05 because he successfully took a dump on the sideline without anybody noticing. What? And this is before the age of the story. This is the, this is the before the day and age of the blue tent. So yeah, every, I guess he had like five of his teammates get these giant towels and hold them up around him.

He took home the win and the $1 million winner take all paycheck. Larson is the only driver to win three all star races at three different tracks, but can see that Sunday's victory was extra special on the resurrected speedway that hadn't seen NASCAR action since 1996. If I had to pick one of any of them, I think winning it historic track like this, you'd be in the first Cup Series winner since 96 is probably the coolest coolest thing. First Republic Bank Seized and Sold to JPMorgan Chase
"JPMorgan bought almost all of first republic's assets. After that bank fell now, rewind a little bit. Remember this banking crisis that the U.S. financial system was going through, spooked a lot of people. We saw Silicon Valley bank fail. We saw signature bank, be taken over by regulators. Now we're seeing something similar from first republic, which also found itself in Dire Straits after the fed rapidly raised interest rates, and they had a bunch of bad stuff on their books. So we're going to talk about this. Jamie Dimon says, hey, this chapter of the banking crisis is over. We've stepped in. We've got this thing, got it under control, don't worry, everybody. But I don't know. I don't know if everybody is fully on that page just yet. There could be more shoes to fall. But Jamie Dimon says, no, there's only so many banks, maybe three that we're doing this shady business. And we're going to be A-okay. So anyway, I'm going to talk this straight to Jen. What do you think? Do you think this phase of the banking crisis is indeed over or do you think more stuff is about to happen? No, imagine I said yes, I think it's over. I think the two of you would just limp best me. It's worrying. That Jamie Dimon is saying, you know, this is all over. "Aaron judge, home run last night, number 62. You saw the tweet from Roger Maris junior basically saying that judge is the clean home run champion. How did you process that as a big baseball fan? Well, buster, after I took my face out of my hands, yeah, I mean, he's got a point, but we can't make our own records. We can not do that. Barry Bonds hit 73. It was a joyless slog as you and I both recall, but it happened. And baseball records change all the time. It's such a slippery slope. How many Jewish pitchers did he hit 73 bombs off of that year? Baseball was not integrated fully until Jackie Robinson came along in 1947. It is such a slippery slope, it's honestly not a good look. A lot of the blowback against him, the get off my lawn stuff was palpable out there. I say all kudos to Aaron judge. He seems to have done it cleanly, no reason to believe that he didn't. What an amazing impressive season. Let's enjoy it. Let's revel in it and let's look at history objectively and with a bit of a jaundiced eye perhaps. Now I'm going to, you know, that was a curve ball. The first question I thread, you know, I'm going to back that up with a Fernando Valenzuela screwball, okay? My knees are like jelly buster. We ought to do like some sort of a contest on the podcast where we try to project what the number's going to be for the contract that he gets in the off season. Off the top of your head, what's your instinct in terms of what his contract is going to be? You remember, he turned out 213 and a half million from the Yankees in the spring. What's the contract going to be this winter? Boy, what a, first of all, what a great move. Talk about the ultimate betting on yourself in a crazy market. What is it, 450 million? I mean, over a long time. Man, that's way above where I'm guessing. But it's the Yankees. Come on. I mean, they're printing money in The Bronx. You and I talk about this all the time. What are you thinking? Well, I think the number is going to start with a three. I am curious to see if Steve Cohen, the great collector of art, Luke said Aaron judge looks at his own lineup that just saw a ten and a half game lead get a race by an Atlanta Braves teams that hits a lot of homers and says that's the piece I need for my museum. And just puts a huge number out there, yeah, I think the number is going to start with a three. My big question is whether or not the Yankees chase. I've said all summer, I don't think they will, but there's going to be so much pressure on how Steinbrenner. If House member wants to live with a whole winter and in spring, when he shows up in Yankee Stadium, getting booed, boy. And buster, let's face it, here we are on October 5th. There's a lot of baseball to be played between now and a month from now. But if the New York Yankees fall short in their quest to win their first World Series title since 2009, given the expectations of that fan base, they may have to bite down hard and just, you know, go for it because the guy is not only see accomplishing what he's accomplishing, but certainly a class act quality individual handles the pressure handles the fans so well. This is the kind of guy you want on your team. Kind of like Xander bogarts in Boston, which is another story for another day. Yep. Yeah, absolutely. All right, so I started with the curveball screwball. I'm going to throw a knuckleball at you now because I know Taylor's got to get out. He's got another show that he's going to produce. So let's do the quiz before we have your phantom franchise entry for this week. All right, folks. This is a very special one. The Philadelphia affiliates have clinched their first postseason birth since September 14th, 2011. So here is this week's question. Which of these songs was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart that day? Was it a, I want to go by Britney Spears? Was it be? We are never, ever getting back together by Taylor Swift. Was it C all about that base by Megan trainor or was it D moves like Jagger by maroon 5? Featuring Christina Aguilera. Philly's first postseason birth since 9 1420 11, one of these was the number one hit that day. I want to go by Brittany. We are never ever getting back together by T swift all about that base by Megan trainor or moves like Jagger. What do we got? Taylor, what do you got? Moves like buster. I'll go maroon 5 D all right. So Sarah, I already know that you, when as I heard the question, I thought, that's unfair because I know Sarah is going to know exactly when that Taylor Swift song came out. What do you got? The pressure I feel right now. I personally feel we are never getting back together. Came out before then. So I am going to say I'm going to say all about that base. I got maroon 5, Todd. Poster and Taylor are correct. Oh my gosh. We are never ever getting back together. It was from 2012, just a short time later. And so here we go. And I thought about this question and I thought about the maroon 5 logo on what was that album cover. And I thought about the Miami Marlins logo of a couple of years after it. So, wow.

"You talk about Ruth and Maris and all these Yankees, grapes, they never imagine as a kid getting mentioned with them. Here comes the judge. Now Aaron judge stands taller than anyone in American League history. The owner of the sport's most coveted single season record for home runs. 62. Case close. Roger Maris record of 61 home runs, established in 1961, stood for 61 years. The home run king, Roger Maris. After mayors broke Babe Ruth's mark of 60, set in 1927. Were you a millionaire real close to something you're going to try and gun for it? From one Yankee to another, and now another with judge taking possession in a year in which he is thrived despite mounting layers of extraordinary pressure. On the eve of the season, judge turned down the Yankees 7 year offer, were 213 and a half $1 million. Instead, choosing to bet he could drive his market value even higher. 'cause the braces on. Ain't no one taking me. I'm a zone. And with debates swirling about his decision. And his future, the mismanagement of Aaron judge is the biggest mistake for me. You mean to tell me that you're going to shortchange him over $2 million, judge had only one Homer in his first 55 plate appearances. Swing and a miss. He was booed at Yankee Stadium. It's very difficult to have a great season when all eyes are on you. And then he took off. 5 more homers in April. See ya. The first Homer for judge in 2022. 12 in May. 11 in June. This guy can not be stopped. And with judge leading the way, the Yankees race to a huge lead in the American League east. Spurring conversation this might be one of the best teams ever. The Yankee slumped badly after the all star break, but incredibly judge kept going. Where does that confidence come from? Oh, you're the best player on the team. You know, how can you not? Remarkably, with the Yankees lineup ravaged by injury, opposing teams kept pitching to judge. And he kept bashing. Lots and lots of homers. Ten and 11 games was July turned into August. 9 and 14 games is August turned into September. And the march to history gets a little closer. The swing, the power, the mental toughness, relentless. The bet on himself will pay off in a big way for the slugger taking down the record that once belonged to Ruth, and then Maris.

"That essentially it's i think that's the point. He was trying to make which is very weird monday. Talking to the media it's before portugal's first match. He sat down at the media availability table. And they're you know as we've become accustomed to because you just get used to these things. If you watch sports enough there was just a number of beverages displayed around the microphone. I think maybe originally when it was stuff like gatorade it was like they can drink this if they want to but. I don't think i know anybody who's going to drink. Coca cola was guzzle a coca cola at a press crepe game so i imagine that they're just there to be like we know you're not going to drink this but we need to get the product placement on. Tv paid a lot of money for this. He sat down and he moved. The bottles out of frame held up his water and said water as in. I guess i don't want these two coca cola bottles. But i don't think anyone was expecting him to drink a moved them and i'm just going to drink water then coca cola saw its share price drop by one point six percent to fifty five dollars and twenty two cents which is still pretty good. Their market value went from god. These are numbers two hundred and forty two billion to two hundred and thirty eight bill. All those those were more company. How will they survive. They responded in a statement that everyone is entitled to their drink preferences with different tastes and needs. I'm surprised they didn't say. And that's why we offer coca cola cherry coca cola vanilla coca cola. Vanilla cherry a euro twenty two twenty twenty spokesperson said players are offered alongside coca cola or coca cola zero sugar at their arrival. But those already this. I'm like. I always thought those bottles were just like these people who paid to be. Yeah that's always thought. Nick sabin a press conference always a coke right there because he drinking it no right. Because it's i feel they could charge more. If i'm gonna take a sip of your product that costs a lot more than if you just put it on the camera. But then pogba removed a bottle of heineken. That was in front of him at a news conference fielder which again i think. Even further proves they know pogue is which again further proves my point. I don't think they're there for you to drink because it would be very weird if you you got if you sat down and press availability and drink a beer. I think that would be very strange. It's also worth noting with pod getting there that's against religion. It's he doesn't drink alcohol. He's a practicing muslim and so he got rid of the bottle. It was a come to find out it was a non alcoholic beer. But he didn't know that he wants to ever understood the non alcoholic beer. All i get it now but can i explain it to you. Go please imagine you wake up tomorrow and realize that as much as you love drinking. Perhaps you love it too much. And it's actually a problem and you have to stop doing it. But you love the dewey. Miss the taste of beer every now and then you've associated so much with that flavor that is remember the first time you drink beer and you were like and somebody was like it's an acquired taste and then you got it and then you liked it and then now you associate with all different types of things. You miss it. It's like a partially when you quit smoking. One of the things you miss is the like action of do that ever again. And so it's just like the action of drinking a beer and so every now and then dan will be. I would love to go. Sit at a bar and drink a heineken zero because the experience of going to bar is still cool. It's still something you want every now and then you want scratch that itch but you cannot scratch it or it'll be a problem and it wouldn't work if he just got something else in a can no. I think what's different tastes makes sense. That makes sense yeah. I think it's purely early standard. It's the taste when i could do this and nobody was fine. All right keeps on your knock. You one million. Yeah and also. It's know it doesn't bother you. It's not getting in your bank when bhai accident. I have been told that there's certain types of beers at doesn't like you can't do a non alcoholic. Bud light it just would be like. What is this has to be a beer. that has like a little. Bit of like a like a heineken. Make sense he had forced the things. I've learned as like an accidental non drinker. Now i've kind of stumbled my way into recovery of problem. I had like a glass of wine the other night and i was like. That's enough for me. Like i need to slow down really fun to feel once again like i had draken awhile but you know that's my life now. I'm just an adult. Who's really got her to go back. Because you know guys. I have my together own believe any reports to the contrary. We're two and a half hours into this podcast. I don't really wanna talk about christian erickson right now. I don't think anybody does. It was scary and it's good to see that he's can i say one thing of course for you. I'm the one who said that we couldn't talk about one thing. I wanted to tweet. But i knew i was going to get lit up for being so soft and i've been to soften the internet lately so i've just instead of being less soft. I've just been less on the internet but one thing. I wanted to say right after because i saw so many people reacting to in case you don't know christian erickson is a midfielder for denmark had was cardiac arrest right but use a defibrillator. On the pitch he suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch Had to have cpr. It was very very very scary. I saw a lot of people on my twitter timeline. I had not been watching the game. And i saw a lot of people reacting to it saying how terrifying it was and i had this pang of fear of like whoa a bunch of people might have just watched. Somebody almost die. I mean he he technically was well and then so my second reaction was like i have to turn this game on and then my third reaction was like no i don't. It's a weird thing of working in sports where it's like when something happens in it's like go cover it and talk about it and i was just like i don't think i'm going to add anything to this conversation. It's just gonna scare me and hurt. And what i realized was like i think when moments like that happen when we become confronted with mortality situations. Where we're not expecting to. And i think corona viruses like a much more diluted version of this. I think that like we forget that a hug feels nice after.

"Damn pour one out for my for my beloved These very sad. And i said look you've got the mvp that's big. You lost a player. You needed them you work. I do without jamal. Murray you tried your best and it is what it is so now chris. Paul is in the covid. Nineteen protocol the latest. Is that to the latest that they can play. is tuesday. the earliest the sons can plays sunday. Her how long do you have to stay in the protocol if you are vaccinated because jalen rose and i guess other people. Since then have reported that. Chris paul is vaccinated so i believe it's ten days two consecutive negative test. I thought that was if you aren't vaccinated. I thought that's what i read. Because i know for golf when they pull jon rahm off the course and he's not. I believe jon rahm was not fourteen days in the clear. Jon rahm is vaccinated. Oh he is okay. It's so weird to me. It is so weird and then it also feels like it's not like every time. I think it's weird that i remember that like in order to go to school we had to be vaccinated and nobody ever made a big fuss about that. It wasn't like our privacy was being infringed upon we all just like i'll go get my measles my vaccines you think i wanted to know but we did and now it feels like it's become i don't know it's just this topic in general gives me so much anxiety for many reasons not the least of which being i'm terrified of needles thinking about needles is enough to make me light headed. It's the the one thing the i don't like us. How quickly. I say this that we we are just general. Everybody of assuming the person's not vaccinated or a that they are like dumb and like let's let's pump the brakes. Let's see if we can get some facts on this before we just jump bonham combination of number of factors that leads to that one being that are afraid to speak about things now because they get used against them which is silly in itself. Because if you're being honest and you're speaking honestly then it shouldn't matter if a narrative is spun because you can address it again. Speaking honestly and continuing to be honest and transparent. I think where people freak out is that they start to worry about how certain words are going to sound. And what they're going to be lumped into so then they're not fully transparent about their views on something or they say things like. I don't know i want to wait until i have. All the information and know reporter asks the follow up of but your coach brought in an expert to give you all of the information. So what information are you lacking. What information are you still looking for. Everybody is defaulting to these terms. That get them out of accountability. But don't actually address their concerns. I think that there's a lot of fear. I think that it's not necessarily conscious fear. I don't think it's like a lot of people would admit to it being that they're afraid but if you're not getting a vaccine and you have reasons one of those reasons you gotta assume is like a fear that something's going to happen to you. It's like you don't trust. And i think that what stinks is that right now. What we're seeing is people who are very frustrated with the way that this pandemic was handled both by sports and leagues and teams and then even bigger governments and just look global. I think people are frustrated with the way that it was handled on both sides and people think that it should have been less restrictions than people thought they should have handled it quicker and now what we have is just a bunch of people who are like on split down the middle and yelling at each other and if someone is afraid of doing something yelling at them to do it is not usually the course of action. That is best. But i also feel like. It's too difficult for people to discuss the fears that they're having because they get yelled at if they don't say exactly what they want to like. I i am not yet vaccinated. This is the thing that has come up recently. Then i'm like it's weird for me to talk about the vaccinations of athletes. When i know full well. I'm not vaccinated and i go back and forth on this a lot so walk with me down this path while i try to figure out what i'm trying to say i'm not vaccine to because i'm tacitly frayed of needles. That sounds childish to people. It's very real to me. Once i reached the age i had to start making my own. Doctors appointments in going out of my way to get stuck with needles. I will admit. I do it less. Is that good. No but for this one in particular might approach was. I don't leave my house. i don't go to work. There's not a time soon where i'm going to have to go to work. The two of you who. I've never met in person. Don't even work in the same state that i live in. So if i were to go to work it would be to sit on. Zoom with you and dues. Podcast exactly the way. I do it here. There is i only my house. And so why i'm not vaccinated yet and i'm going to be soon and i don't wanna talk about it because i'm scared so when i started to be like a one of accident it's a who am i to say then i'm like. Yeah but i'm not leaving my house and if my job was to be out in the world and i had to go out in the world i would have had more of a fire under my ass to get vaccinated earlier I just feel like the thing that the nba players and all athletes need to know which is why people are trying to demand their answers on whether or not they're vaccinated is because we're watching you go out and interact with people and travel across the country a pandemic and it will put a lot of people in danger and a lot of people are afraid of going back to where we were were. This pandemic was out of control again and there was nothing we could do and everybody felt incredibly hopeless. We wanna watch sports. We also want the athletes to be safe and for it not to make the pandemic worse but then from the athlete point of view. I think what they would like the public to be more. I guess empathetic to that. There has been whether it's misinformation or information. There's been a lot of confusion about which vaccines in which you know. Like i remember that. Something was reported about the johnson. Johnson vaccine that. When i looked into it i was like oh that was a very small amount of cases but i remember if i hadn't been paying attention if i hadn't looked it up and i had just breezed past the headline my takeaway would have been like. Don't get johnson and johnson and like you've got to remember that a lot of athletes are not sitting at home scrolling through the internet reading through everything they play sports and so they may not know but they know that there's something they should be scared of and then we're all just like get so it's like the has with any conversation everyone's yelling and a couple it just it takes a couple people to meet halfway. Someone's got to be willing to meet people halfway. What is it about this. That scares you and the other thing is that like. I think we didn't know that much about vaccines before and now when people hear how. Vaccines have always worked. They're like oh. That's those numbers aren't good and it's like those are better than the numbers used to be and we never used a question getting them. It's a very complicated situation. All i'm saying. I'm uncomfortable discussing the medical situations of athletes as much as we do as quickly as we do after finding out something like this now. I just feel like i talked to now. I'm going to get yelled at for something that i said. Are you handle that. Well i think that's i mean not that i'm just i just it is weird..

"Who do you like. Don't like so. I absolutely over by the way. If you hate your skip ahead five minutes. It'll be fine. Everybody who says that they hate the show. You're wrong below deck rules and captain lee. I will not stand any slander. He is co perfect. I love him. I want him to charter every single one of my boats. I wanted to be my captain forever. Love him kate she gets it done. She knows exactly what she's doing. I want her to deal with theme parties every weekend for me. She's amazing okay. I didn't like amy at first. The one who she was on for like back i didn't love her at first time around on her. Yeah the third season with rocky and all the other crazy people. I really started to like a knee. Because she wasn't the annoying one she was like yes. She was the more sane like okay people in a situation where they're surrounded by people who are crazier than them. They will normalize themselves out to being. Yes normally she like her first season. I remember her creating this drama with one of the other girls whose name i now forget who had slept with her boyfriend two million years ago and every had a girl yes time. That girl was like every cat was like what's up. What are you mad at me about. She was like nothing. It's nothing and then behind. Her back was like this and then when catcalled or out on it she was like. Why are you guys all talking about me. Because you're not talking if you're mad at her teller if not move on but she was in this weird inbetween but then the season with rocky. She was like okay. This girl's clearly off her rocker. I'm gonna just a associate myself with kate. And i can become cates ally and then they both were like. Oh look at that. We're actually friends. So it's like you'll create drama if there's nothing there but if there's some there then you tend to be like i'm going to let that be the drama exactly all rocky creates drama all on her own however. I was just telling travis this before. We started recording. I hate as viewer when the two people that i hate most in reality. Tv team up and now they're best friends. I hate that so rocky has now teamed up with leon the chef of that season the remember how leon was so like. I'm going to cook food. I y i don't really care am on my own time and cates. Like what are you doing and he was just like unnecessarily rude me up. Well now leon rockier like bff's and she's like as others. So i'm like 'cause you suck yet so why that's frustrating because you're like you're both wrong and now you're trying to make each other feel like you're willing each other's shred argument to fight. What's right like it's so annoying. I had a guy yesterday on twitter tweet at me. I hope kate gets better after season. Two because right now. I can't see a world i'm paraphrasing. But this was the gist of what he said a world in which he's a decent human and i was like. Oh oh. I mean. I would hope that. He was exaggerating in the way that people do when they talk about people on reality tv. Like if you don't like her. I'm still perplexed at least like okay. You can dislike a person's personality ability to be a decent person that to me was like what do you mean. How would that be possible. She's a she's a little harsh. She or tells a cover industry. She's she doesn't always put sugar on things when she feeds it to you but she might not smile at you all the time. I think you'll reasons that i like. Her is because it's nice to see a female character. That's just like yom not gonna smart. You don't pay me to smile for you. You pay me to provide you with the level of service that it takes a lot of concentration for me to provide you with an forget about that smile if my drink gets to me on time. Well that's why i loved. Do you remember the back and forth between that one reoccurring charter group. Where the guy called her called her out in front of like all the other guests. Just yeah exactly and so. She made the peanuts towel on his bed loved. That absolutely loved that he called her out. She was like she felt. You're for a lot of that episode. She was like. I might cost us a tip. Why did i do that. I really really shouldn't done that like once. She realised at first she was. It was a rocket ship. What are you talking about. But you could see her up which. I actually was still funny. She's just like you know what he called me out. And i was getting my revenge and editing. They made it seem like the guy was mad and then at the end he revealed that he thought it was hilarious. And it was like. Oh yeah. I thought that was really odd. The way they edited that like they should have just made. It seem more funny than he. S reality tv either way. I just I guess i don't notice the difference between the seasons because it's been a while now but this changed remarkably between two and three. Is there like a redeeming moment in three. I think three she's more likable. Because of the fact that everybody else is so noticeably crazy that you need someone kate to be like. She's a professional and she's telling everyone how to do their jobs..

There's even a few brisk walks a year when the human decides to try out jogging. And you can feel the wind in your ears. but for charlie the mutt. There was one walk. That was his favorite beyond all the others. There was one walk. The came around just once a year and offered the best smells dog could ever hope to smell. There was one walk that charlie looked forward to all the long dreary months of winter. Oh i walk of spring. He bellowed practically leaping out the apartment door. He pulled that his old red leash not even caring that his collar was tight against his broad neck. Easy buddy laughed his owner. She called herself. Jane and she laughed all the time she was. The best and charlie loved her very much. We don't bark like that remember. Charlie hung his head so she'd know he was sorry but he couldn't help it if his tail kept wagging it was the first walk of spring and they were going on their favorite little trail through the woods. Their new apartment had a real forest nearby and they got to walk in it almost every day. During the winter it had been pretty quiet but now it was spring. Charlie couldn't help but strain his.

And i had a asked for. A bag is just to get it to fit him shoe so smokes. Billy gnarly one thousand pretty bad in. Would you rank man. Yeah it is do. That's what that's what makes the difference right there man. You're part of that one percent what was going through your mind when when he was cranking on it like that I just kind of told myself. Like i didn't fly all the way out here like to get submitted in two minutes. So and he kinda crated. Hardly i'll give it to them like not spec to him We're cool now. Like him a lot and he cranked to arts. I really i building a have a window to tap anyway so by the time i real registered that it was hurting. That bad is only like a quarter of a second. And i felt it shift and even though i was like why tab now it's already a marketing leading off everybody limp off one you know and come home happy with lynn and then limbaugh Fly home and everything and i lost. So that's what. John didn't his ball. Dude that is kick asked like eighty seven man. that's the champion champion mindset right there man good for you change. J. shit yeah. There's a lot of ties of you know with eating a law the shitty times and the good time. Some you know like oklahoma city's Oklahoma city point twenty. And i got gotta. I ate something that they've for. I just went really shitty. And i was throwing up and everything and i'd already been oklahoma so i was not gonna just back out argo and i knew how to talk match. And it wasn't a give. And i throwing up and wasn't feeling good and i just went ahead and went in there and we went like being. That guy had the best match. I want my foot. Most fun matches ever have full eight minutes and back and forth within two points of each other the whole time and like the last twenty seconds i ended up getting a pass and one by a point or two in light. It was the most fun mats. I've never have really the whole crowd like screaming. My coach was yelling and screaming at us. And i was able to pick up the win. Last-second but that awarding one just so bad after and i ended up getting off the mats in. I'd never done this before by like threw up right after my match in the trash cans and i thought terrible but but i was happy that i but it may be grateful because i remember telling people why after this now never gonna. I'm gonna realize how great is gonna feel to be healthy and ready to go. So every time i go in the bullpen. Now it changed my whole outlook like every time i go in the bullpen. Now i might be a little nervous or something like that. But i always tell myself like this. It's way better than oklahoma city. Yeah feel now takes. It takes the bad time to appreciate the good times man. So that's what's up an fell before i take advantage. It might be like damn on steel service now. I'm like dude. This is nothing compared to like. I thought they were gonna d- cue me because i was thrown on the mad. You know something man. Yeah holy smokes while man that bat is inspiring man. And that he i would not be surprised if he practices some sort of mental mind training as well. You know what i mean you gotta be. You gotta have a iron mind to be able to power through that and continue with the manji. You know to me. His body's telling tony i'm just a tap or lego. He's done it. No ten even have the speaking on that other of fighting through adversity. Can you think of a match that you've been in where you've been like maybe down on points you're just talking right now about being extra tired. You're in pain Maybe a joint gun hyper-extended in training or in a previous match and your time is low and you needed to make something happen. Can you think a match come to mind where you were. The where the cards were stacked against you Yeah fought a couple of times on some her ankles actually at the grappling have badges one. The guy the guy there. "Can't wait for them to be over in. I'm saying So if somebody enjoys going through that you'll definitely have a lot more success Those are great insights. Yeah and i think it's also like you know we know he'd pans camper world's camp and they have you know seven eight weeks where they go hard and training and that's like that's what they do and before then you see them laying on the beach and training maybe once a week and and that's some you know some people do that. You have lots success hate on that but the thing is like you know we have no. Upn scamper six weeks. I'm to have six weeks for bongo. Dulong hard competition training everything like that but outside of that leading up to this every single tournament are always going to the gym. Where always doing hard seven minute rounds all the conditioning. We normally do the only thing we changed is we do. Competition pacific like rolls. We do you know starting certain positions or competition. But in that like all the trainings are the same. So it's not any different every single day. You know three hundred sixty five days of the year all year round doing bike were in a training camp so whenever we go and i'm getting ready for competition already feel like i'm ninety percent. They're all i have to do is work on a specific strategy for that tournaments for that certain opponent does not have to do all the preparation of getting ready for three weeks of my conditioning. Back in because i've been sitting around the couch. You know just gaining weight. The will always staying ready in. You barely have to get ready at all for an upcoming competition. Dass was basque. A real quick question hands. yeah for sure. Hey chase How big of a part is strength and conditioning. It's diet to your success. I think it's a big part ashtray conditioning. For sure getting that little bit of edge. The higher levels respect When you on the lower levels blue white boat you can get away with.

"And then finally his bit were in order to confuse her where they're going. He turns her around multiple times. He's or three-tenths at one point just on a path right like they're headed in one direction. Clearly and then he spins her around. That doesn't do anything does nothing. It does come tell if it was supposed to be funny or not. I couldn't either. I can't imagine that we were supposed to take it seriously. Because i just kept going. And then he blindfolds or like yeah. That's the thing that's why it made me think that it was more open to that point. It's a bit because it's he's blindfolded. I whatever. I have no clue but there it is her amendment talking to herself out loud some unbelievable at one point she walks into the lodge and she says oh. This is nice. Oh apple. don't mind if i do. She's just talking about loud. she's tight all out loud and my leo's watching this all happen and he seems totally down with it so i it was an impressive commitment. Speaking of leo. Listen i think when. Leo says the line that i'm about to say i think leo and the amy amy had maybe had two conversations but at one point. She walks in and leo working at the hotel behind the desk. Just goes whoa. Don't you look good. i think use. I don't think you should do that. That is working at a place where you're supposed to make people feel safe about sleeping there. You don't yell out. Yeah fat cat calling from from the information desk yes so that's no it's a no go. Yeah it's a no go i just. I couldn't get over the facts that my guy who had made it. Very clear redwood falls is legendary. Show it to you. Proceeded to tell her. tell her what to do. We'll stay on how you i'm not gonna take you there. I am going take you to another waterfall at that. If you can find that you could find. The i couldn't believe will never tell you. Never tell is but if you go but here's the streets and you go to streets down and take a left. Yes the house on the what are you doing. I mean. I just just the dumbest thing in the world. Yeah i also that twisted rock was pretty neat Sure i'll wild. What happened there just it got it got confused. It got confused. Okay that's You know he leo. Call catcalls her from the desk. But can we talk about christopher russell's other person of color friends that like is throwing himself at her upon first meeting like he's never seen a woman before he kisses her hand where we we're good with the hankiss here in two thousand and twenty one. She walks around the corner and he goes. Oh it is like everyone here is like a construction worker from every nineteen nineties. Comedy dressed well so it doesn't count. I just don't understand how the unsung hero of this movie. And the reason. This movie is not the worst of the year. As for someone without a speaking part. And i can tell you that is that is. The boy likes christopher russell's daughter. His best friends that kid. I don't know your name bro. And the fact that you didn't get paid to do this because you're a background actor is unfortunate because you get to scenes and you cook across both. Let me walk you back. The first seen that he gets to do is the. Hey we've got she goes over to say. Hey do you wanna coke or something. Before she gets out of the matter mouth. The girl goes. Hey aren't we going to go see the new dock and then the guy who she likes goes we're going to go see a new dock and then his friend is supposed to elbow him like this and say come on and he misses he misses. He doesn't even elbow. He's like way out here and he goes like it's just just not only the team is like doing it. I think he also missed the timing. Yeah because my buddies already on his way to the dawn. He's known me he's already halfway. There just throws air elbow out there and says come on and then the next scene they ask each other to dance and they walk off the dance. This kid is standing by himself and he looks at the on. Their backs are turned him and he goes thumbs up. I mean i can pay vo. Yeah i just felt that. I'm not laughing because i bet there. How many times that it is going for. You know You guys are getting their. He's still no that's the key. Gotta give them a still target not a movie. I'm not gonna stay still. I'm coming for you okay. Well it's a little tougher those little wayward almost lost. You there started doing 'cause you're going crazy. Yeah that's what it is. So the big boss lady jeffreys. Who's the boss lady. In the beginning. This takes time and other busy day building outfits for the incredible to also run this magazine and she is supposed to be big time and she's in a meeting with cindy busby and someone brings her a note on a sheet of notebook paper that has been ripped out with all the tabs still in it folded up like what's are we using the like the middle school note passing system in order for her to get valuable information that wouldn't be emailed texted to her or called. I don't understand that at all i. It doesn't make any. She goes to susie falls the first fall. She gotta take pictures up. She goes to one spot. She takes three pictures. And says i got what i need. We're moving on i. This is the first thing. She's got a sin back to see if she can be professional photographer. It's a hobby of hers. She takes one angle of pictures from. Suzy falls in his that confident. I don't need to go from any other angle. These are the ones these are the big boys. It just doesn't make sense. She says that she is okay with heights. As long as she's attached to something and i would submit to you. You're always attached to something if you're up tall rot right winner. You not skydiving.

"An urban pie, then stay tuned for our reminder to put it in the oven. Sodas. Kickoff ready. Palermo's Pizza, Wisconsin's hometown pizza and proud partner of your Green Bay Packers. Where is your level of concern about this football game this afternoon, and I think you're concerned can lie in a couple of different areas. It could be playoff seeding. It could be injury related. It could be matchup related. There's a lot of different areas right Could see Packers fans just feeling the heebie jeebies about this game at 3 25, despite the fact that the Packers will be playing post season football, Let's go down to Rockford, Illinois, where the peaches grow lovely this time of year and talk to Tom Tom. You're on W C. M Chase opening drive. Yeah, I got two concerns. One is, uh, you remember Brian belong there used to be off. I don't know if you play the same position, but he was so injury prone. It was terrible. He's still playing on a team this year. Brian Malaga, Ryan Balog out of Iowa. Remember him? I remember Brian Blogger for sure issue charge right now. Yeah, He's a Los Angeles charger, but I think he was for quite some time. Bok Tower isn't It's on very unfortunate that happened if they play full, full steam in there Thursday. Practice you would think not know. And Tom like that. We appreciate the call Tom. And I think you know Matt before explain this in his availability late this week after the Bachtiar injury happen, that it was just a flukey thing, And sometimes that happens and it's unfortunate with knees, but, uh, you know, Matt before said it was nobody's fault. It was a non contact thing just kind of happened and terrible timing for the Green Bay Packers. Not just because you know you're calling up against the tremendous front seven with Khalil Mack and Akeem Hicks and Robert Quinn. And you know the list goes on and on and on today, But you know to have this happen and have to reshuffle your entire offensive line. Just ahead of the playoffs is not something that anybody wants to do. Let's take a look at some of these playoff seeding scenarios here. The easiest one for the Packers is very simple. Beat the Bears. You're the number one seed in the NFC. No questions. Asked. Now, if you somehow lose to the Chicago Bears, and we won't rule that out because the bears were playing for their playoff lives is well, let's just go through some hypotheticals. The Packers would still be the number one overall seed. If Seattle loses to San Francisco in Arizona this afternoon. Now, obviously, the Niners are playing those games in Phoenix because they've been outlawed from their own stadium. But San Francisco I mean, they're a team that's been banged up all year, but they've got George Piddle back now. That's a dangerous opponent for the Seattle Seahawks, not out of the room, a possibility that the Niners could knock off Seattle in week 17 here, the other situations that could happen for the green gold. If you lose and the Seahawks win, and the Saints won as well, this is the worst when the Packers drop all the way down to third, and that doesn't necessarily affect you as much in the first round because your first round opponents in the second or third, she would probably be the Rams without Jared Goff for the Bears again. But where you really run into trouble is in the second round, you may be forced with going to Seattle, which has been a house of horrors for the Packers. And then you know in the NFC championship game, going down to New Orleans to taking on Alvin Camaro and New Orleans offense that's really potent and then the defense that quite frankly, I think it's under talked about. It's one of the best defense is in the NFL that New Orleans has this year, so the road gets more difficult. Obviously, if you have to go on the road, The one other situation is that you know they could end up second if they lose. Seattle wins. And these saints lose to Carolina. That I believe is the least likely scenario today, So there's your run down for seating for the Packers. Could be one could be, too could be three. The easiest route. Just take care of business and told your field and you get a week off and you wait for your divisional round opponent at Lambeau Field that two weeks from today. Coming up next. The Bear's been playing a heck of a lot better since getting smoked at Lambeau Field Little over a month ago. What's been so.
