And for that, we have our patriots reporter Mike Reiss and bills reportedly in the gifts for standing by, Mike, we'll start with you. What are the Patriots saying about their plan to defend Josh Allen? Field of patriots need to be great artists tonight. Defensive lineman Dietrich wise junior described that the pass rush is like art. They need to work together and create a wall, so Josh Allen can't escape, then they pair that with extended coverage on the back end, knowing that Allen is a master at keeping plays alive. Defensive tackle Devon compared the bills offense to a venomous snake saying Allen is its head and he said if you want to tame the snake, you always start with the head. For more on the bills, here's Elena gets and Berg. While the bills placed von Miller on injured reserve today, the team is hopeful that he will be able to return this season. General manager Brandon bean said that they do not want to rush him back and that putting him on IR gives him time to recover and hopefully be back for the end of the season. The bills will be getting back defensive ends AJ NASA and Gregory Rousseau for tonight's game against the Patriots, which begins a key three game stretch against AFC east opponents. Field Mike recently gets two of the very best. Here's a look at the bills remaining schedule starting with the Patriots tonight with von Miller place on injured reserve. That means the earliest he could return will be at Cincinnati all the way in week 17 with two games left in the regular season at that point. Dan, how big of a deal is this? Let's talk about this from a macro perspective. This is massive. I mean, it even more enhances the point that tonight's a must win for buffalo. Me buffalo said today in three, but they're zero and two within their division. This is a division game tonight. And the next two weeks are against divisional opponents. So we want to talk and the reality is this 21 out of the last 22 teams that have gone to the Super Bowl that's the course of 11 years, 21 out of 22 have won their division. Wow. And the only team that was that one outlier was Tampa in 2020 and they didn't have to play in full stadiums. That's right. So for a team that has Super Bowl expectations all throughout the off season and has looked apart from many parts of this season. Tonight's a must win and having to do that without Vaughn makes it even harder. I still believe that their defense is a good unit. But make no mistake. They were very out front. They went and got von Miller for one reason. The beat Patrick Mahomes. And so for a team that sits at a three hour division, they got to win tonight. I couldn't agree more and tonight, I think it's especially significant that they get pressure because that's been the biggest issue for Mac Jones thus far this season last week when he had the best game of his year. It was because he was in relatively clean pockets. Guys, when he is pressured, he is a QBR of 1.5. That is a real number. 1.5. So in this game, without von Miller, it's going to be incumbent upon Gregory Rousseau was playing great football before he got hurt to make a huge contribution. Don't count of course at Oliver on the inside as well, but to me it all starts up front for buffalo. They've got to hold up their end of the bargain because without von Miller against Miami. I mean, you're going to start looking at the rest of the schedule. It gets even hairier. Yes. Y'all, I was thinking about this and meaning you brought up Russo and obviously Ed Oliver. I was thinking about what will Leslie Frazier adjustment be if they're not getting pressure. We saw Matt have some success last week in the plate in the play action. We saw that New England offense kind of open up some things and make through for the two to three 82. So do you need to add a little bit more pressure if you're not getting home as much and what does that make you susceptible to? A part of this and you guys know I talked about von Miller being a closer. But a part of this was also how you can operate a function defensively without the commitment of adding guys in pressure situations. 40 made up for that because usually his pressure rate, which is as high as anybody's in the NFL was going to cause movement from the quarterback, speed up the offense. These guys are not getting paid a $100 million because of their name. Right. Or because they're fast. They're getting paid that type of money because they change the way offenses have to play. So I'd be interested to see tonight if Leslie Frazier has to do anything differently than what we've seen this year to try to generate some of that pressure that von ash. Yeah, Marcus Dan said that MCAT I'd like to hear your thoughts too, is like, one, one of the cool things about buffalo's defense is here was they didn't pressure a lot, but when they did, it was like perfect. You know, and so do they have to do that more? Because they ran their defense move on. I think to answer that question mark is it's the next level though. What does turbulence white start to look like as these weeks go? Because it's easier to pressure if you trust that he can hold down at least a half of the field within coverage. I also think it's a little bit harder with Micah not back there. If you had both of those safeties and their communication, I think it'd be a little bit easier, knowing that one half of that isn't there. I think makes you a little bit more hesitant to do it, MK. Yeah, Christian Bedford. I'm really curious to see how much Davis white because he was really limited snaps on Thanksgiving is coming back from the injury of course. I'm also curious to see if they play a little bit more man coverage than usual. That's something that the Patriots have struggled against all years. The bill's defense is very straightforward. They rush with four and they play zone. So to your guys point, I'm curious to see with some of these injuries against this particular opponent, do you break some of those tendencies to put Mac Jones on the ground and make him confused? Can't wait for Thursday Night Football. And let's go ahead and do a same game parlay. That, of course, courteous of FanDuel same game. Parlay, Dan, let's start with you. Mac Jones, over under 225 passing yards tonight. What do you say? I'm gonna go under fando this is a great number. Mac average is like 221 yards passing a game. Buffalo gives up defensively like 225 yards or 220 yards passing per game. I think the weather plays a little bit of an element tonight. I'll say under. Okay, how about that? Over under 25 rushing yards for Josh. This one's easy, right? I think this one's easy to use. It makes the money tonight. Josh is ran for over 25 yards in all games, but two. Week two against Tennessee, he played for like a half because they whooped them and then Thanksgiving. I think that's a little bit attached to some of the sax Detroit got. I'm going to say over. Okay, one more here just to find a big score touchdown tonight. Yep. Okay. And says, yes, those touchdown bets are often the trickiest one, but Dan, looking for someone to get one day. Let's go. This is a date. He has been good. He's scored a

He's done an outstanding job. Obviously the Philly games one that stands out with the long kicks. But just knowing that like, hey, you get to a certain yard mark. You're gonna at least get points on the board. It helps and not for me, but just for our team, you know? And you want to score touchdowns, but those threes add up as well. Yeah, and I have a bold prediction about that in this week's D.C. sports subtle, wherever you get your podcasts, Turner may not have Antonio Gibson against a giant sundae, the running back against sideline and practice by a foot injury ditto for max Dax Milne and Benjamin saint juice. "This is the bill's fourth game in 18 days. One of those games was 5 quarters. Josh Allen doesn't appear to be a 100% with this UCL issue. You can kind of see some of that in the short throwing metrics von Miller's out. The starting left tackle Dion Dawkins is out and then if you do some reading or get some Intel early in the week, a flu bug hit the Buffalo Bills locker room. That's how we got here. In terms of the bills offense against Belichick and the Patriots, this is probably one of the largest match ups in terms of variance this week for me. You're just kind of waiting for buffalo to get back right offensively, but if you look at their offense, they're just trending poorly relative to expectation 12th in EPA per play over this three game stretch. I think I mentioned Monday in passing about Josh Allen's woes and the red zone. He's been one of the worst red zone quarterbacks during this window as well. I think the red zone performance inevitably reverts closer to the expectation. But it's just been quarterback 40 since week 8. Of any quarterback that's had at least two passes into the red zone. So that's wild to me. You also look at the defenses that buffalo has played during this downswing. And it makes the offensive performance a little more worrisome to me. It's Minnesota, Cleveland, Detroit. Those are defenses, 23, 29 and 24. And schedule adjusted efficiency and whether it's the shot wearing off for Josh Allen or it's Ken Dorsey not being able to make the right halftime adjustments. The bill since week 8, 31 31st in drives that end and touchdown in the second half of these games since week 8. The adjustments might not be there as well. You get this Belichick patriots defense and you mentioned this as well. I agree with you. Their second schedule just efficiency. It doesn't quite feel that good. Since week 7, their first in both EPA per playout and success rate allowed, I just, the offense is since week 7, just that New England's played leave a lot to be desired. It's the jets what Zach Wilson twice. It's Sam ellinger. It's the bears. Cash them. Kind of turn them upside down. Minnesota is even below average offensively in Belichick got to play them on a short week and Kirk Cousins carve them up. Cousins completed over 81% of his passes on Thanksgiving second highest mark against the Belichick led patriots defense all time. There are some chinks in this patriots defense of armor here. I think if you give the market even the slightest bit of respect and you are looking at some context clues, the Patriots steaming at the same time the under is it leads you to believe bell checking the Patriots hold the bills offense. And relative check. It was interesting to see how much man coverage the lines used on Thanksgiving against buffalo, the Patriots typically live in man. But they haven't fared overly well against this buffalo offense playing man. So I'm just interested to see what Belichick comes up with here. But I just wonder back to my point of variance. At what point does buffalo's offense trend back up? Are we at the floor? And then at the same time, it's like I don't for a second believe the patrons in the second best defense in the league. So it makes this a difficult handicap as we talk about it in the current landscape of the market. The lines call it 3.2 right now. It's certainly a different conversation if we were having this Monday when the line was 5 and a half. Yeah, I mean, look, you raised some excellent points talking about the bills and trying to figure out if this offense is fundamentally broken or what can go on and what may be contributing to some of their struggles right now. Clearly they've gotten a little bit more effective running the football in recent weeks, but it hasn't exactly been this high powered offense that we've grown accustomed to. I'm surprised when they made the trade pain for name Heinz that he hasn't done much of anything in this offense if you're looking for a little bit of a change of pace. But as Josh Allen struggles with some of the shorter passes, it changes a lot of the dimension there. Meanwhile, on the other side, when you look at New England, I mean, this pat's offense isn't lighting the world on fire, but Mac Jones does come into this week's contest off a career high in passing yards, 382 in the loss against the Vikings. It was the second best performance in yards per attempt in fourth and passer rating. When you look at what made him so successful against Minnesota, it was one of the first times this year. We've seen New England really throw the ball downfield and he was 16 to 20 for 243 yards when he was targeting his wide receivers. No Damien Harris, which means reminder Stevenson becomes the bell cow back. And he was another guy that benefited immensely last week, targeted ten times with 9 catches for 76 yards, and he's had 50 plus receiving yards in four of his last 5 games. The other reason for optimism for New England in the offensive side, they may get a couple of key cogs back in the trenches with David Andrews trending in a very positive direction. So I think quietly unnoticed is the bill's defense is also dipping. At the same time in the offense is. Since week 7, you're looking at a unit that's 25th in EPA per play allowed since they're by. And so I understand the injuries have been ridiculous for buffalo, Micah hides out TRE davious white just returned Greg Russo and AJ up and have missed some time, although both should be back tonight at Oliver's mistimed tremaine Edmonds and Matt Milano have missed games von Miller's now out. The list kind of goes on and on. But you have a defensive minded coach. During this downswing defensively since week 7, the offense is the bills have faced, have an average EPA rank of 18th. So it's not like they've played this great stretch of offenses. That to me is a little bit concerning and I do wonder at what point we may see a difference of opinion here on this total now that we're below the key of 44. It will be interesting to see how that market ultimately unfolds from now until kick off. But you mentioned New England's offense. They are dealing with some injuries of their own Isaiah win Damien Harris are out. It does look like Jacoby Myers and David Andrews are going to play. They both vowed to play, even though they've logged limited practices all week. Trent Brown is dealing with an illness in his suddenly questionable as well. So we'll have to monitor that one leading up to kick-off. But I think there's some internal optimism from the Patriots that Mac Jones is getting back into form that he's playing within the confines of the offense that he's doing the things they wanted him to do and ultimately that's what had caused some contention earlier on in the season why they transitioned to Bailey's appy for a sneeze. Listen, if you look at the last three games, zero interceptions, just one turnover worthy play for Mac Jones.

As a mid season form, we'll postseason form. You're Georgia bulldogs. Holy crap. They're not mine, but they are. You went to Atlanta. Didn't you? You went there? And you go to Atlanta. You spent your Labor Day weekend on a plane. I understand that. I understand that the most important person of your nuclear household leaves my house behind Georgia. Go to the game. By the way, congrats to Sarah on the gig with CBS sports. I was so excited to see that. She's actually got a second one. She's doing stuff with Amazon. Prime Video NFL as well, this is great. That's great. We had a great time. We drank a little too much. We were also sitting in the Oregon section. So the people around us. So it's quiet. So it was quiet. We were making a lot of noise. I mean, Oregon fans got to be like last year. We went to the horseshoe. We beat Ohio State that we got this one. We got this one. We can get Georgia. They can't be as good as last year. And then they started playing. There's good. 7. Defensive lineman. Offensive lineman out of the club. Did you see that video? I forget. There were two pieces of video that went viral in my timeline that 6 foot 7 tight end leapfrogging people, jumping over people. And then whoever's taken, I think Jordan Davis is spot through someone out of the club. Holy crap. Darnell Washington is the tight end. Along with Brock Bowers. He's not even the best one or not. Not even the best one on the team. Stetson Bennett, the fourth. See the fourth and the third. He's a fourth. The fourth stetson Bennett the fourth is really good at football. And he's either going to a, there's two choices for him. Stetson Ben at the fourth will either a, somehow keep this thing going and get drafted and have a career. Where everyone thinks that he doesn't, or B, he's going to have the greatest photographs on the wall of a hedge fund manager in the history of hedge fund managing. Right? You're going to walk in a stetson Bennett's office and you're just going to see trophies and photographs. Of whatever hedge fund he's going to run. Since en Heisman the fourth is that the nickname. I tweeted that Alan said that's in the fourth. We had 6 incompletions, a half of those were throwaways. And they had 360 yards. And by the way, all the craziness of the preseason, we'd throw that out the window. George is number two now. It doesn't matter. That's it. It's Alabama in Georgia and then the rest of us will just try and hope for the best. Wait for over a reaction. That's coming up. So 5 days to kick off of the first NFL Sunday and the coolness of Mike Tomlin is over. He had his press conference leading up to steelers at Bengals and as expected, certainly when it came out over the weekend that Mitchell trubisky was voted a captain. Go figure it out. They made him a captain. He's a captain. You're not going to bench your captain. He is in fact starting. This is Mike Tomlin earlier today. Mister biscuit is, I start in quarterback and our captain, man, we just really comfortable with what Mitch has shown us. He's a guy that came to us with franchise quarterback experience, if you will. He's comfortable in those shoes. He's been the focal point of a football team in an organization before. He's had success in doing so like I mentioned when we acquired him. He took the bears to the playoffs two out of four years. He has a winning record as a starting quarterback. Those things were attractive to us. His athleticism and mobility were attractive to us. He took care of the football in stadium. All our quarterbacks did and I think I'd be remiss if I didn't say that. It's good to come to decisions based on what people are doing as opposed to what people are not doing. In our rich eisen show in our office text chain, the news, I forget which one of you guys tweet, you texted it amongst the group, that it was trubisky one, mason Rudolph two, and can you pick it three? And I'm like, that makes sense, because Cincinnati is, you can't start The Rookie in Cincinnati. You can't. And so I might make sense because if trubisky gets hurt, you need an old hand like mason Rudolph at the controls. Well, it's now pick at number two in the depth chart, and Tomlin was asked about that. Really pleased with the growth and development of Kenny, that's why he's listed as number two. I thought his acceleration of development really took off once we stepped into stadiums. And once we start stepping in the stadiums, his decision making the fluidity of it, his competitive spirit, his pinpoint accuracy, all of those things I thought really came to the forefront once we start coming into stadiums and I thought that he grew and grew at a really fast pace once we got into stadiums. And I also think it's reasonable to expect that growth and development to continue as we push into the regular season. We're excited about where he is and in the ground that he's covered to this point in the ground it is going to continue to cover as we find our regular season rhythm. He gains an understanding of what that is, what preparation is like, what the rhythm of a 7 day process is like in terms of getting ready for regular season ball and so forth. Just really excited about where he is and what he's capable of. Fascinating stuff out of the Steelers, our three coming up on our radio side. Here on our YouTube stream though, I just want to just say, Pickett's going to start, guys. I think he's going to be the first guy to start. I think it makes sense not to start him at Cincinnati. That is a tough spot, and then home against New England. Opening up a Christchurch against New England. Belichick eats rookie quarterbacks making their first career home starts for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Keep him away from him.

"Had no idea who he'd take shrapnel during the navy federal Reed right there. I don't think anyone paid attention. By the way, the price is right. Turn 50 over the weekend. Do you know that? I watched it on Saturday. It was Saturday or Sunday. It was Sunday. 50th anniversary of the moment bomb Barker came out and asked someone to come on down. Well, that was Johnny O actually, Johnny Olson is one who said Johnny could come on down. They gave away a bunch of cars, dude, all I know is I watched the price is right so much in college. That I knew that when bob somebody came out of contestants row and he did not move from his spot. You know, he'd always stand on the spot and stand there and people would bid on things and he would then when they came up and from contestants wrote, moved to another spot of the stage for a pricing game, I knew that if he stayed on his mark, the person was going to win a brand new car or have an opportunity when a brand new car. Because he always liked to say that you could win this and move it and point to the side and then there's the brand new car. That's how into the game I was, man. Yeah. That's why I also needed for you to take the middle key back in the dead brother. You didn't know 'cause you've never seen that game. I even said it's a rare game. The minute I saw it, I said, that's a rare game. It's a rare game. And you confirmed it that you said you were watching to prepare for your appearance for months and you never saw that once. I told you somebody film study. Yeah, film study was out. Can you imagine you study all the film and then it's time for games? That comes Philly Philly. We never saw this play. Nope. Someone on YouTube years last year left a comment that they looked and saw that master key was in the bottom third of every gameplay. Price is right. It's unfortunate. It's unfortunate. Unfortunately. Very, very unfortunate. You know, it's also unfortunate, unfortunately, it was great. Speaking of unfortunate, you know, it's unfortunate. LSU is unfortunate. Florida state played a hell of a football game. That was the game of the weekend, right? Wouldn't it? Because Ohio State. It was really good. That was good. Where you taught a chance to tie it, but decided to win it, and then Florida picked off you Tom the end zone. That was the end of that one. Well, that's a long trip. That's a long trip from the mountain time zone, just to, I think the last reverse to go from Florida to the mountain time zone, all that way, just to get an axe in the chest at the end was The Shining. I think it was in The Shining, went from Florida, the mountain times on taking axe in the chest at the end. Utah did the reverse, went from the mountain times on all of them. And Utah blue inside the one in the first half. So they really left a lot of points on the board. But Florida state had a remarkable flea flicker work, right? And Ellis, you was just getting pounded, but then came back and had an opportunity to come back because Florida state fumbled it going in to just wrap the game up. It was so ridiculous. What are you doing? It's a pitch out. The game's over. The game's over. The bus never do it. Why don't you just or you just take knees and then kick the field goal? Yes. So you give us your chance, of course they march all the way down the field. Of course they scored no time left, and of course they got the extra point blocked. That was crazy. Extra point blocked. Did LSU bring Green Bay's special teams coach from last year to Brian Kelly do that? Part of his new family. And by the way, the hate, I understand there's a lot of SEC hate for LSU from various parts of the country. But man, the pile on that happened on Brian Kelly. Monday. The pile on I'm Brian Kelly. What is that? Is that the Notre-Dame hate towards him or are they think he's for gaze and the dancing and the family and all that business? Yes, all the above. Yeah. I would say that's probably true. Bolted on Notre-Dame and the dancing with recruits was really weird. But honestly, the pile on that happened on top of Brian Kelly throughout the game and then when LSU lost Joe Tessa tour has the Gus Johnson in him too, dunny. Go test his games. Bless it. You've got that ability as an announcer not only to meet the moment, but for some reason the football gods decide to bestow upon you. Games like that. And Notre-Dame versus Ohio State was, I was looking forward to that game all week. It really didn't really was not great. Now, kind of a dud. It was a bit of a dud. I mean, shout out to Notre-Dame for playing really hard for the staff and then just couldn't get any offense. Ran a called quarterback run on third and long in the red zone in their first possession. The minute they're like, we'll settle for three, we'll get out of here with three. I'm like, you're making a Marcus Freeman should know that. You're making a major mistake. And he thinks that he's got some special abilities. He's got a nickname for him. He calls him creature. Because of the way, is so difficult to play to defend. Josh, I came here and became a creature. So yeah, they pulled out all the big guns to try to get them there. Things kind of started to move fast at that point. And they made him a big offer that was ultimately a better offer than the one the rams made because it had a third year guaranteed. And the rams only offered two years guaranteed. You know, when you're 33 years old, an extra guaranteed year at the kind of money we're talking about was significant for Miller. Well, you also had an anecdote in your story about a bill's hat that Miller had in his boyhood room for more than a decade. Can you tell us about that and how it may have played into all of this? Yeah, so it's really kind of an incredible story. So when Vaughn was coming out of Texas a and M in 2011, he was certain the bills were going to take him with the third pick in the draft. And he felt that way all the way until the night before the draft. You know, I thought I was going to be a Buffalo Bill when I first got drafted. That whole off season I thought it was going to be a Buffalo Bill. I had already bought into the Buffalo Bills. I had Buffalo Bills gear. He had a Buffalo Bills cap, and he wore it in all of his workouts leading up to the draft. And the day before the draft, got a call from his agent who said, look, I'm hearing Denver is going to take you with a second pick in Buffalo is not going to get to you. So he was really surprised about that and the bills ended up with Marcel Darius, the defensive tackle. And von took that cap and he put it on a shelf in his boyhood home, and it stayed there all these years, and it's still there. And so he kind of felt like, you know, there was a part of him that was supposed to be a Buffalo Bill a long time ago. I was going to say it's a bit serendipitous because it leads us to the Instagram video that we heard at the start of this episode with Miller announcing this past spring that he was heading to buffalo. But based on what you wrote, this whole thing still almost fell apart on the way to the altar. So how did it all go down? Yeah, really interesting. So, you know, he was kind of tortured by the decision. He didn't know if he was making the right call. I mean, for most people, if you're leaving LA and going to buffalo, you're going to have some second thoughts. And I mean, anytime you make any big decision like this, usually have some buyers remorse, but then, you know, you're going from LA to buffalo as a young man who enjoys nightlife and all the things that LA has to offer a good weather. He's a golfer. So the bills that said a private plane for him to come to buffalo to send his contract. And with John that plane, he started to just second guess everything. And he actually got to the point where he said to himself, I am not going to sign this contract. I'm going to go to the offices, though, tell them face to face, I changed my mind and pay for the private plane myself and walk out. And when he got there, he went in the bathroom, and locked himself in for about 15 minutes. And then, you know, he was just kind of thinking over the thing. Someone finally came and got him and said, hey, you okay in there? And he came out and he decided to at least sit through the meetings and hear what people had to say. And, you know, Brandon bean and Sean McDermott and less Frasier and defensive line coach Eric Washington all talk to him and told them about how they thought he could make such a difference for their team and how he could fit in and kennel like what he heard so they said, well, why don't you go out and look at the field where your home is going to be? So he went out there and he's got a kind of a tradition where before he ever crosses the line and the end zone to walk out of the field, he takes a knee and he says a little prayer and he did it that day and he prayed about being everything that the bills wanted him to be and living up to expectations, bringing a Super Bowl to buffalo for the fans and, you know, having the happiness and strength and energy to be everything that everyone expects him to be. So he said that little prayer I got up and walked away and became a Buffalo Bill. When I left Denver and I went to LA, I said I'm not going, I'm not going back. I'm not leaving. I said, I'm not leaving. And it had to be something special. It had to be this. It had to be the Buffalo Bills and, you know, what they're doing on the football field and off the football field. And I had to be a part of that. Okay, coming up. How von Miller's life looks drastically different now that he's gone from LA to upstate New York, and what bringing a Super Bowl title to buffalo would mean. And you wrote about von Miller's new setup in Buffalo, which seems very different. Can you tell us about this new place? So yeah, he went from this club 58, which is this big party pad, right? To a place in suburban buffalo near the Buffalo Bills stadium in their offices. It's a fraction of the size that these other place was. He went from over 18,000 ft² to about 5000 ft². Wow. And he said he didn't need a lot in his house. He was just looking, he had three priorities. He's looking for a little Matt where he could practice his chipping. A little place

"It's been a crazy man, crazy four hours. I'm going back and forth, man. A lot of things that I love in LA, but I just wanted to let you know, I'm coming to buffalo. Bills mafia was good. It's 40 open. That was von Miller Beck in March, announcing his decision to leave the Super Bowl champion LA rams for a massive deal with the Buffalo Bills. Again, look at the numbers on the screen here. People at home. 6 years, 100 and $20 million. A lot of chicken wings for a guy that had chicken farm. It was a decision that surprised a lot of people. And it's also a decision that almost didn't happen. Today, the athletics stand Pompeii tells us why Miller ultimately chose upstate New York over the bright lights of Hollywood, and the gut check moment when the ultimately decided to follow through with the big decision. They actually got to the point where he said, to himself, I am not going to sign this contract. I'm going to go to the offices though. Tell them face to face. I changed my mind and pay for the private plane myself and walk out. From wondering, I'm Tiffany osinski. It's Friday, July 22nd, and this is the lead. What's up, baby? Dan Pompey, welcome back to the lead. It's good to be with you, Tiffany. We've got an interesting story to talk about today. I'm excited to tell it with you. Yeah, I'm very excited. I mean, Dan, as we mentioned, this spring von Miller signed with the bills on a massive free agent deals. But it wasn't the easiest decision to go to buffalo, which we will get to, but before we do, can you just remind us how this guy looked the last time we saw him on the football field? What was his impact on LA's Super Bowl run? Well, he had a great end of the season once he got healthy after being traded from the Broncos. And really impacted that defense. And not just the defense, but the whole team. We probably can make the assumption that the rams are not Super Bowl champion unless they trade for von Miller because of all that he did for them down the stretch of the season. And then, of course, in the postseason too, where he had four sacks. Von Miller racing through the MVP of the Super Bowl 6 years ago. He comes in to make it a third down and 18 and that's a half dozen sacks for Los Angeles. But I think really what he did for that team kind of went unnoticed. Is he helped bring Aaron Donald out of his shell and make him more of a leader, which, you know, Donald tends to be a quiet guy. I don't think he ever really took control verbally before. And von encouraged him to do that. Obviously he had the great Super Bowl and a great postseason as well. Aaron Donald, as he's done so many times, we think about him as the pass rusher. Look at that hand extended just jamming him up and then not letting P Ryan fall forward for that first down. And that's why people say he's the best player in the league. So he really was critical to everything that happened in the NFL down the stretch. While von Miller made that huge postseason impact for the rams after being traded there from the Broncos just a few months earlier. And while he was in Denver, he put up big numbers in one of Super Bowl MVP. But it also seems like he got really entrenched in that community. So as we look at that path that led him to buffalo, can you tell us about his connection to Denver? Well, yeah, he really felt like he would be in Denver for the rest of his life. And he still is connected there still visits there, you know, still has some very dear Friends there. And I think we'll probably be involved there from a charitable standpoint for a long time. He started his von's vision charity there, which helps give underprivileged children access to appointments for eye care and glasses and that sort of thing. Like those? Yeah. You like dogs? I can truly tell those kids that all they need is glasses to be successful in the classroom. The kids that think that it's not cool to wear glasses. The kids that don't have the means to get eye care and free eyes. But I think the other thing is he was so entrenched in that locker room culture to a degree. I mean, as much as any player that I've ever experienced in all my years in the NFL. He turned the basement of his house into basically a big party room for his team he called the club 58. They were there every night after games and they were there for Monday Night Football, mid week. He used to have doctors and therapists on hand to treat all his teammates. He had a casino night on Thursdays. He had players live with him, you know, when they didn't have a place to live. So I mean, it really became kind of a nerve center for the team. And then the other thing is every day after practice, he would hang around for maybe four hours in a locker room just to talk to people. So I've made the statement in the story that I wrote that, you know, as much as he wanted quarterbacks to fear him, he wants teammates to cherish him. And he really worked hard at making that happen and it did happen in Denver and obviously he's got to try to do that again now in a new locker room in Buffalo. So von Miller is originally from Texas, but over the years, it seems like he really became synonymous with Denver as we just talked about. So how difficult was it when he got the news that he'd been traded to LA in November? Yeah, what was interesting is the handwriting was kind of on the wall a little bit that he was going to get traded. So he wasn't blindsided when the general manager of the Broncos George Peyton called him up to his office and then November day. I was in a training room and, you know, they said that George wanted to talk to me. I've been in league 11 years, so I already knew what this talk was going to be about. Called him in and said, you know, look, this is what's best. We traded you to a team that we feel can be a contender in the Super Bowl. You know, at first it hurts. It hurts bad, you know, I've been there for 11 years. I don't know anything else. You know, I was a Denver Bronco, and you know, they told me that I was getting traded to the rams. It just kind of, you know, not at his head. And then when he walked out of the office, it hit him and he just started crying in the hallway. And he really was emotionally attached to being a Denver Bronco and a lot of that came pouring out of him that day after he learned he was no longer a Denver Bronco. You wrote that in your article that there were a lot of aspects of life in LA that really fit with von Miller's persona. And as you put it in your story, this is a guy who's danced on Dancing with the Stars. This week went in our dancing to end the air tonight by Phil Collins. So this song means something to you, right? I don't know, I'd never really listen to Phil Kelly's makeup. And introduce a duet at the Grammys while sporting a silver sequined jacket. And the von Miller MVP adventure continues tonight at the Grammys. Vaughn introduced an act with anquan boldin and wow, a fantastic jacket, and there were some shoes involved. He knows how to put on a show on and off the field. So when he became a free agent after the season, did it seem like he was going to stay with the rams? It really did. You know, the rams wanted him back and he kind of was set on going back there. I mean, he thought, in his head, he was 90% certain he was going back to the rams. But then his agent Joby brannon was kind of calling around engaging interest in him, and he called the bills because he saw the potential on that team and how good they were and the one thing they were missing was a player like von Miller, who could really get after the quarterback as an edge Russia. So the bills, you know, they kind of had the same thought that Miller could really take our team someplace that we want to go that we haven't been able to get to. Now the bill is also brought in some heavy hitters to try to recruit him from the sound of things. Can

"I love this von miller story. I'll give you the background here. So after von miller gets traded from the broncos to the rams it comes out that he had halloween party over the weekend for his teammates and got annoyed because his teammates wouldn't chip in to pay for it. Now von miller is making god only knows how many millions but this is a story. I've talked about this with you so many times over the years. Personally between us about how anyone who compares their lives to an athlete's life is coolest an athlete's life is nothing like they're living in another world case in point. This is a six figure. Halloween party right. Like you're living in another world if you're throwing halloween parties that cost over one hundred thousand dollars. It's it's something that we could never relate to now. I got that wrong. I thought i read your story so he was upset. Oh and okay right. When teammates declined to kick in for his annual. How do you throw put. You can't listen. I don't care how much money you make who you are a few through party. You don't ask other people that chip-in right. It's your right exactly and even we'll forget about even a party of people over house. I'm the one who's paying for the launch. It's great to see it's coming kersey's you're the host. You do disturbing you bay for this up if you don't want to pay for it then don't have the party bus. He's making all you said he's making a ton of money. I don't know whether it's true or not. But in my mind i'm going with. He got traded. Because of this. Love this sort. There's no way that that happens but you're right. That is insane. can you. And by the way he's not alone. There are people that actually do that. Oh we're having a can you bring this. Can you bring that or can you. Why don't mind that that's different than pay for it. I don't know wo- it depends type of party. I think if it's a big party a little bit of an issue. And i would never ask somebody to bring something if you were to come to my house. And he said hey. Can i bring anything. And i happen to need something all right. Well if you wanted to bring this and that because you my life getting so big and this was like i need ten thousand dollars from you because it's costing me one hundred thousand dollars for quavo to perform. I mean you know it's ridiculous of an athlete. No one can understand it. Believe me did you watch any of the manning cast this week i did. I actually watched a. I couldn't help myself. I initially because it was a giants game. It was on after the game. I was like let me watch the regular feed. I couldn't do it. I i had to go back to the manning cats. It's so weird. Because i thought out of all of them. This was probably the one i probably enjoy..

"It's a great trade for LA, way to go, I didn't even know von Miller was available. Now, maybe I'm not paying close enough attention, maybe maybe the talk in Denver was or we're going to trade von Miller, maybe not. I didn't realize von Miller was even on the trading block. So it seems like from my outside perspective like the ram said, we're going to make von Miller available by giving you a good trade. You can't refuse. And good on the ramp. So again, I think the rams are closer to a Super Bowl, that's a fantastic trade for LA. Now Denver, Denver. I thought von Miller was going to be a key part of the team. They were building to von Miller won a Super Bowl years ago with Peyton Manning. And I thought Denver built a great roster that just needed a good quarterback and if they got a good quarterback, they were gonna put together deep playoff run. It honestly truly believed that about Denver. And then they didn't get a quarterback. They got teddy Bridgewater, and you're like, all right, like I guess teddy's the answer and he wasn't. And they passed on Justin Fields and instead of becoming a key player that helped them make a deep playoff run von Miller became a trade piece for the Denver Broncos, and that's really sad because I thought Denver clearly had way more potential than they've shown all year. And I watched Justin Fields, by the way, had a crazy touchdown for the bears on Sunday. It was fourth down. Ball is on the ground. He makes a man miss reverses field runs for a touchdown and you're like, I'm so glad Denver drafted a corner. Like, you know, 'cause quarterback and cornerback defense and the guy that touches the ball every single play, they're equal. They have the exact same amount of value to your football team. Oh, oh, they don't. Oh, they don't. That's right. No, quarterbacks are way more valuable than a corner. I don't know what Denver was thinking. I don't know why Denver didn't draft Justin Fields. You'll never be able to explain to me why that was a good move. At the time, didn't understand it. I still don't understand it. There was a time a couple weeks ago where I tried to understand it and I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I don't get it. I don't know what Denver's doing. I don't know why they didn't feel the urgency to get a quarterback and work ahead, Jessica goes, how did I feel like any time I talk about Denver now? I'm going to have to talk about the fact that they passed on Justin Fields. I don't mean to do that, but here's where we'll go with this. Von Miller was in Denver for ten years. And he was drafted in 2011 out of Texas a and M and I kind of wonder if von Miller is going to keep his house in Denver. He's been there so long, his family's there. He's very, very established in Denver. And I just encourage you to remember NFL players are people too. Like, you know, to move your family. It's got to be tough for von Miller. It's hard to feel that bad for the guy. Going to sunny Los Angeles to a good football team, but I would imagine this is still a very difficult emotional thing to go from the franchise..

"Stevens of dnv broncos zach before we bust into all things von miller and trade deadline. All the broncos of course seeing the news about henry rugs. I mean it doesn't matter if he's in the division. nfl whatever. This is always just a really really tough story. To take that henry rugs was involved in charged with a d you with dui resulting in death That's a it's a tough story man. Yeah i mean a story that you never wanna see regardless of you know if it's even in a sport let alone in the nfl or let alone within the broncos division just a terrible situation where you know he's being charged with a dui resulting in depth like you said And it's it's awful that that that happened and just this morning. That happened but Yeah i mean it. Obviously impacts the the broncos in the football. I in the raiders as well because broncos still have another game against the raiders and man i. I wouldn't think with this at least that the broncos will be playing against henry rugs this year. Yeah no doubt about it and again it just seems to be part of not that they're comparable but just in another situation for the raiders to try to have to figure out it seems like it's been that way for for a few years now but we'll We'll keep our eyes peeled to see what this guy's they said. It's an ongoing investigation. So sure maybe more will come out on the story. Zak stevens joining us from dnv broncos zach. Yesterday was a was a pretty big day for the broncos So well apparently they're you know vic fangio now they had a you know we moved on from von which is bittersweet. Because i think if you're looking at it from if just a straight up fan person van boy finger whatever your because my wife looked at me she goes. Wow that's so sad. Why would we do that. And you know my wife's not digging into the xs and owes of it guys like us act sophisticated guys of course Look at that and say man. Second third round. Pick for a team. That's probably not going anywhere. I i'll tell you that. Yeah and and you know i. It was a tough day yesterday for emotions brady and you're exactly right Just on the surface. It's tough to see von miller traded. But when you dive into it the broncos did really good in this trade by getting a second and a third round packing me back and yes they are paying nine million dollars salary but brady the broncos are we're going to pay nine point seven million dollars of the rest of his salary this year if he stayed on the team anyway so it doesn't really impact them. They have the money they have the cap space anyways. So i loved at the broncos paid that salary in order to get even bigger return for von miller and look brady if the past the first month of the season it really looked like von had an opportunity to retire as bronco. Look he one. Afc defensive player of the month in september four sacks and three games the broncos were three you know it seemed like i could finally see situation in which he was going to be a bronco for the rest of his career but then this past month completely derailed. That von was struggling. The broncos were struggling. And i just did not see a situation where von was going to stay a bronco for life..

We're here to have like surgery. So yeah they had to calm down. Yeah yeah probably so. Yeah just excited to expand my music taste even more on this show and talk about music as well. "What do you want to say one year and you know washington they have the worst third-down deepen the worst scoring defense. The worst passing game. And i you know you gotta to take what they give you. Ensure look what they did. They gave them ulcer third down. I think the broncos are seven thirteen on third down and the converting third at eighteen. Jerry duty. I mean washington So i don't know weird game to stop the bottom but the brothers got you and i thought that might signal okay. We're we're gonna try to give a whole either shot but today indicated. Nah that there rebuild mode and man what a deal in bonn miller. Yeah i it's a crazy deal like you said. Take some time to think about talk about whatever vons one of the greats. He's part of that story for the for broncos country. All of the nfl really. I mean he's had a really fun story leading up to that super bowl and i know after the contract. Things didn't quite work out for him. But all righty max. So it's official in your mind. The von miller is not a one off deal. This is rebuild mode. That's what the broncos are signaling in your mind officially. Because i'm looking down at the schedule and i mean maybe philly maybe detroit. I mean how many wins are there if you are actually trying to win that is well you know To the to august ones would be about the philly just kind of rolled yesterday. Detroit bobby terrible And who knows you know quarterback injured the struggles that dallas even though they came up with win and who knows how that really feeling. So i'm caper. They're probably two more wins. But you just never know you never know. You never know if he's going to get hurt and what's going to happen Do you really believe in the raiders. I don't but place right now. So we'll see i don't know man i think. The broncos got the seven wins maybe pretty amazing All things considered and right now with the today to seven wins. I think right now five. Maybe six twins. Yeah it'll be interesting to see how whole thing goes down. Deemak i know you guys will have plenty to say about this situation. Vaughn the broncos going forward all that. It's so weird monday. It should be victory monday but it feels like a lot of loss is really the way that game ended von miller. But if you can if you can step back and look at the big picture this was a move for the future which you didn't seem like he was in that in mindset too often George peyton may be saying. Hey you know what it is what it is. It's time to rebuild. Maybe that's a breath of fresh air for some fans. Yeah i think it is. I think that's how true broncos fans get it you cannot make big moves unless you have capital. I mean everybody's three hillock aaron rogers and rogers. I mean okay. Aaron rodgers you gotta have capital. You've gotta have cases to deal and train so if you want to. If you want and quarterback in the first round you need capital brady. This is what successful teams do is. What the bills did josh allen. The chief patrick mahomes so move from the twenties draft edition a fire. Now you know who's really in love with coercing. Strong or not crying or balik willis. But you know them how. That's that's coming out but Brady when you suck. Why when you have the opportunity. That's why you know your passed on just to pass on jones twenty thirteen pass on johns island. I mean let's from those mistakes right and if you're gonna do the right thing here make sure you do the right thing on the other side. Yeah no question about it D mac we really appreciate you. Man is always as far as legends one of the legends and covering the broncos for so many years man we appreciate and hey let's catch up against we're talking bears a little bit at unc. Do you think the rams and the broncos had discussed this last week when kenny young was traded to denver maybe that was on the docket. We'll get to it We got the dell. Mccaffrey show coming up. "They're closing thoughts for an interesting week where we started college football practice in the area. We got see you go in yesterday. Unc issue see issues the big takeaway for me right now as a special teams. That's going to be a big deal. Steve adagio was harping on. It says he fell. He used the twilight zone watch and special teams last year. But he's still the coach. He's still going to be the special teams coach for you. And see max mccaffrey. Congratulations you are the new offense coordinator for the unc bears. So you got at as the head coach. Max is the offense coordinator and dylan is the quarterback. Lot of offense and a lot of mccaffrey media days for both see issue and unc. Next week i believe beliefs. He uses next week as well. Probably not gonna be able to get down to boulder as we've got a lot to hit up here in the northern colorado area for the most part but those are kind of my takeaways on it broncos. The quarterback battle is not budging. We are right in the thick of this thing. And it's it. It is a coin flip. It does feel like a better competition than what we saw when we were in the decision with trevor siemian paxton lynch different competition for sure. Von miller is a hall of famer to like the no doubt he is a hall of famer again if he has another great season maybe he signs with the broncos to finish his career he could jump up even if he doesn't he could jump up in the top twenty of all time sack leader was one oh six. He's like fourteen away from crack in the top twenty could achieve that this year. The good afternoon guy is coming up at three o'clock. We'll have rockies tonight. I believe it's exciting to get back to football. We had the hall of fame game on. Kpfk last night and We're just gonna get closer and closer next week. Officially preseason game one for the broncos so we'll be sure to break that all down for you as well. It's going to do it for us. Good night northern colorado.

"Terrell davis believes that the broncos are capable of breaking the five year. Postseason drought whether it's through lock or teddy bridgewater. I'm hearing this a lot. Actually from the national media they believe and i saw pro. Football focus I think it was even nfl. Nfl dot com that. The broncos have a playoff caliber roster that when you look at the offense okay you like the offensive line. I feel like they're going to be a strength for this team. The wide receivers are certainly making some noise. But you might have a situation where in sutton as your number two wide. Receiver that before his injury. I'm putting him up there as one of the tops. He's going to be moving up the chain as far as one of those top wide receivers tight end still have some questions. You know no fan. Can he take the leap alberto like that. You i mean it's an okay title group. They have some stuff to prove the running back side. I mean melvin gordon. Second half of the season was pretty. Damn good mike boone. Tough nose running back the rookie. Devante williams again. They have some stuff to prove. But the point is you get you like your line. You like your receivers on the defensive side. I mean the question marks were maybe around alexander. Johnson and josie jewel in the inside. Maybe dream aunt joan's but apparently draymond jones's lighting things up camp. So you got a defensive line of jerry. Jones mike pursell show harris. I love that line bradley. Chubb von miller. I love the outside backers johnson..
Indianapolis Colts Select Azeez Ojulari in Post Free Agency Mock Draft
"Matt dollinger. Senior editor at the ringer and former lowly intern of the two thousand colts with the twenty first. Pick in the twenty twenty one. nfl draft. The indianapolis colts select aziz osha. Laurie out of georgia. I'll be honest. I'm tempted to take jones here. Because i obviously don't trust carson wentz but diseases the best pass rusher in the draft and he might be undersized but so we're dwight frene ian robert mathis. I like that. Wow that was. That was concise all encapsulated. That was how can tell intern with the two thousand nine colts. I love that colton play. They inspect so oziel ours. Your number one pass rusher. Why did you all twenty one here. And he's everyone else really dumb for not listening to you No i so know. I think this this rusher classes bachelor. Classes vary Hard to predict what how the or of the these guys are gonna come off the board. I think with oh jewelry. It's because he's a little undersized as don mentioned he's he's six foot two so that's generally speaking like shorter than you wanna passer should be however he does make up for it with incredible length. His a really wide wingspan long arms Good burst bend. I like skill set. you know. He had some really impressive russia's where he like. You almost looks like von miller where you're like bending around the corner getting really low dipping your shoulder and getting back to the cornerback So i think there's a skill set to work with their but yet speaking of the pastors for classes just basically. There's no one clear elite guy in the class. And whether it's you know a russo or jalen phillips or og. Larry couple of other guys is basically pick your flavor. Whatever type of player. You'd think has chance of succeeding in your scheme. I could see any of these guys be the first pass. Rusher pick

"A lot of news in the nfl today. Buccaneers are giving shaq barrett a four year. Deal worth up to seventy million dollars includes thirty six million dollars. Fully guaranteed grow good for shack barrowman. What a what. A joy to watch when he was at colorado state and with denver and obviously now tampa bay bucks or trying to bring back their their core. At least they have a lot of free agents out there but they they're bringing back. The most important ones getting levada. David locked up last week. Obviously we know we know what this team there. They they put their franchise tag on godwin. So they're trying to bring back at least the core zak stevens joining us now from. Dnv are broncos broncos. Still i mean all these other moves going on in the nfl man. The broncos still have a few big decisions to make. Von miller is contrary jacksonville plans. Tim patrick alexander johnson. Where are we any closer to getting those decisions done. Yup broncos certainly taken these decisions up till the deadline brady. They got a couple of days to make decisions on our faith. And von miller and cream jackson's decision will come in Roughly around the next twenty four hours And the reason for waiting. On kareem. And vaughn brady. It actually makes a lot of sense on why you'd wait because you can talk to free agents now. Why don't go out there. See what you could do with the potential money that you would say with von miller which is eighteen million dollars against the cap with ten million dollars which is what corinne jackson you would save. A few moved on from him. Test the market. See if there's guys out there that would make sense to sign instead of having those guys there And so there was really no reason to cutting on or declining his option. Before this time now you can test the waters. See what's out there And then with the restricted free agents. They're they're really playing it close to the vest the biggest one i. I think we know that. Tim patrick could get a second round. Tender alexander johnson makes sense for a second round tender but the biggest one is phillip lindsay. What is george going to do with phillip lindsay because to me it's very straightforward you give phillip lindsay a second round tender. Pay him three and a half million dollars for this season. he's back he's not going to go on the open market a team trade a second round pick for them. That's not going to happen. But if you give him an original round tender then that means fill is going to explore the market and now the broncos would have the ability to match any offer he would get. But if you want phil here for the long term. You're going to match any offer you might as well just give him offer right away. Yeah hi zach..

"Two million dollar cap that next year. Which is the biggest on the team. They save eighteen million dollars if they move on him. He's in his thirties. He just missed the full season due to injury the year before that he only had eight sacks so this is just another thing that you put in there and obviously let's say does go further and he has found that that he did this wrong then of course that probably the top of all of these things on why. You're probably moving on from him. But this isn't just the only reason why people are starting to think okay. Has vaughn played his last down. This is just one of many in there. And so that's something that you can't ignore when you talk about how many other things are stacking up against him for. Maybe he's back next year. But like i've told you many times in standby it's not going to be at that twenty two million dollar cap it and when you take all that into consideration you know because we're already asking the question will he will. He negotiate his contract while he negotiated to the point. Where it actually means something for the broncos so that's already out there plus you just mentioned it the injuries the age the productivity all. That's already there. This could be one of those situations where we might not. We don't we don't know what's going to happen. Maybe they turn out and say hey. You know the cases over overdone done but sometimes even the fact that he was investigated might just be a negative cherry on the top so to speak. Where the broncos go you know what. It just doesn't make sense. You have all these other things going. Now there's investigations whether they find anything or not. Maybe it's just time absolutely end on top of that. I don't think we can overlook the fact that this is a new general manager who had no ties to von miller and a lot of people say this is not for not for long league. What have you done for me lately. Well just looking at it. Von miller hasn't done for the broncos in the past two years. And i do believe he had a better season. Twenty nine thousand nine the saxwood account four. But it's not like he had fifteen sacks or anything like that with its jumping off the table. The john elway has had the most respect for von miller. he drafted him. Number two overall. He made him the highest paid defensive player in the nfl's history That's no longer here anymore. For von side just like john elway isn't there to be pounding the table and making the final decision on drew lock. Von miller does not have that it his disposal either right now so the set of eyes could make it easier for this team to move on from him or at least be willing to play more hardball than negotiation. Yeah yeah it's boys sir seeming like the writing is on the wall perhaps on the von miller situation for sure all right so how. This is the other big one to shawn watson. When i first heard this i'm thinking okay. That's a nice dream not happening. I can't see..

"Dnv broncos joins us on our verse first advantage hotline zach. My friend i keep thinking things are going to slow down and there's going to be as much for us to talk about at least until we ramp up into the off season But unfortunately broncos are at the forefront. Maybe some good news there shawn watson rumors. Okay that's fun but the situation last week about von miller certainly has broncos country talking. Yes absolutely some good. Some bad. Some still unanswered questions. About what this broncos staff is going to look like and brady. I think that every single year i think okay. This is the offseason. That's gonna be quiet in. That rarely happens here. Broncos country no no doubt about it my friends. There's certainly a lot to unpack. And i know there's a lot for george payton. There's a lot of von miller drama or not. There's already a lot for him to come in and take care of. Can you talk to us about the situation. with von. the whole thing seems very strange even dating back several weeks ago. Where are we at right now. With von miller investigation yes. So here's where we stand. Officially with von miller investigation as according to the park police he is being investigated for a crime And if they find that a crime was committed they will. Then send that to the da with find out what it is for Fox news right now reported that is for domestic violence But they the parker police department wouldn't comment on that. When i talked to them what they did tell me was it began recently. The investigation began recently so that could have people drawing the connections to what his ex girlfriend posted on instagram. A couple of weeks ago But then she also came out on friday after all this came out on instagram and said that von has never laid laid his hands on her So right now. We're just in a waiting game and this could be a couple of days until we find out what happened with that investigation and could be more weeks so right now we're really in limbo with the official status of this sack. How so the situation. What two three weeks ago. Looking on social media for the most part Von miller ex girlfriend as you as you talked about. Put some some stuff up there of these texts back and forth can you. Can you open that up for us. I haven't hit a lot just yet because it seemed. I guess it didn't seem like any of the major news. Sources were hitting it just yet so i always try to be careful there but what was going on. There was some of the screen shots that were put out on social media between the two. Yeah and i think what is important is you know. We don't know if these were from von but it seemed to becoming. I believe from an email account from You know an email that certainly resembled von miller..

I just save you. I did say that. Yes, that was it that you see, that's well spoken like a lawyer there on the road, and I find I know I'm not gonna get anything past him. But I want to make sure that if we went back to the record that I never once brought a minivan, Wait, get in your way. Did all fair Bring up the idea. I will complete that boy. Okay. Thank you. You know, in all seriousness with regard to the Von Miller story, I can tell you with no specific knowledge of his situation. But with lots of knowledge of accusations of a similar nature, the police are not hesitant. To make an arrest under similar circumstances. If they think there's any shred of proof, right, leave it at that. Yeah, I'll say this. She she has already put out a statement refuting the The physical nature of any of that, refuting that any of that even happens so we're in a different a different point with this and I'll be freer to talk about this later. But for right now, just say this, that the Situation, his devolved and I'm doubting that any charges are going to be brought. In fact, I think this thing is going to fade away. Completely agree. All right. Anything else profit? That will do all right. We appreciate your call, as always, my friend. Three on 3713 85 85, the Minivan thing. Killing me? Yeah, absolutely role. I I think sensible is completely appropriate. You know what I thought of? I thought you trying to cool it up a little bit like John Travolta doesn't get Shorty. Yeah, like he tries to cool up the minivan to David DeVito. I looked at convertibles for a moment. It doesn't have to be a convertible. But that's not. That's not something We gotta roll up there and see the Broncos country owns. Broncos country Tonight can't roll up in a Ford Fiesta. I did with all due Rhys and I mean all due respect to the fine people that forward and their Fiesta Broncos country tonight has set the standard we get the spin doctors On the show. When we want way don't roll up in a Toyota to herself. My first car was a Ford aspire My friends will always be like your car spires to be a better car. That's better than what we call my my. It's better than the nickname we gave for the Ford Aspire for that, my friend, my friend Britney had she a white one, and the Ford Aspire We called a Ford. Um, you can add an extra s in there and fire So we Yeah. And I would always go to them is like what you want a ride or not, Because at that point high school, they have a car. I did. My dad actually wasn't my my dad backed into it in the driveway. And totaled it. They think they ended up getting another aspire and my brother totaled that one. My parents really love the aspire. But that car was not very lucky. Now. I had the only like enough. You know, I had some crap cars back in the day I say crap cars. I mean, I'm being you know. But like my first car I had I had an 81 Honda Civic hatchback. No power steering on that thing. I've driven one of those. Yes, And you know, it was like this kind of this puke white color and the car was it was embarrassed. Somebody broke in and installed a stereo. I I don't think our kids will these my kids. I don't know if you're over your kids, but I don't think my kid's gonna appreciate some of the crap cars that I drove and the appreciation of driving without power steering. My goodness. What? Whenever you if you've ever driven a car without power steering? Yeah, it's especially like Yeah, if you've never grew..

Who Will Be the Broncos Defensive MVP in 2020?
"Said we do have a poll question up right now at KOAA Colorado on Twitter who will be the Broncos defensive MVP in twenty twenty von Miller drill Casey Bradley Chubb Justin Simmons right now von Miller winning this poll Bradley Chubb is you're right there so pretty close I voted for Bradley Chubb by the way okay I voted for Justin Simmons the only because he sees the field the entire the entire season and I I really think you even thinking badly troubled well they they see the field was a ninety percent just the same as a hundred percent I mean pretty much yeah so I mean we're we're splitting hairs I I actually think there's argument for all all four of them I think there is I think you'd even throw in like I said Kareem Jackson I think we can have a argue about Todd Davis will likely leave we can at least leave the team in tackles there's there's there'll still be harassed kit comes away with with big plays batted passes I mean there's there's probably argument for anyone of these guys yeah other then then yeah I I could totally understand that just and you know he's good for the show and you know I enjoyed enjoyed talking to him from time to time but I'm not you know I I look at and and you know we're all big fans Justin Simmons B. last year before all this went down I was like he's going to become a household name by the end of season sort of maybe all pretty but you know I look at these guys and I'm just for my own personal thing and they have a bounce back season knowing how Bradley Chubb is is kind of Courtland Sutton on the defense enters the attitude work ethic all that kind of stuff and he was where it was interesting get to talk to both those guys a buffalo wild wings last year because it felt like it was kind of a new unified narrative between the two you know Courtland brother has sent a lot of the same things very similarly it's interesting because they're off the side of the ball so it's it's it would it was kind of fascinating to you know to see two guys have the same approach would be different sides of the ball that aren't necessarily in the same same meetings and

As that game it became clear. After obviously the Damian will even before the Damian Williams run that clinched it it was becoming clear then the Williams touchdown and then there was this release. Like Oh my God the chiefs are GonNa win the Super Bowl and it was a well-earned win and one that didn't look particularly like it was heading in this direction even halfway through the fourth. That's quarter the chiefs to me. Their players and coach Kinda remind me of the fans. It's been so long since they got that Super Bowl in Randy read. It's been so long a guy like Frank Clark find his way there. Honey Badger finds his way to Kansas City to make this happen. Terrell suggs is lucky enough to come along for the ride at the end of the year. A lot of I just find their way to Kansas City and end up winning this one and you're right fourth quarter at midway through the fourth quarter forty nine hundred ninety five point six percent win probability. I know that's not your stat. The latest evidence that people need to stop talking about win probability it means nothing other than a twitter talking boy. It means it means it's unlikely the other team's GonNa win and now know Kyle Shanahan. Would it peaked at about ninety nine point wait. Six percent against the Patriots early in the fourth quarter always had ninety five point six percent. The percentage. I don't think takes into account Patrick Mahomes uh-huh it just doesn't or the chiefs offense or Andy Reid like the way that you have to dominate Patrick mahomes and make his life. If uncomfortable for sixty minutes I think is the hardest thing to do in the NFL. The forty niners balled out on defense. Not Unlike I believe the the Seahawks balled out on defense against the broncos. They did so many things right for the first three quarters. I think in a lot of scenarios and with a lot of quarterbacks that game would have been twenty seven to six at with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter and they're never could've been a comeback but mahomes got out of a lot of plays blaze. That could have gone worse. He had a lot of negative. Plays the chiefs defense. Did just enough and it just shows you. Yeah you can. You can do a lot while. They held him to five point three yards per play which is a very very low number for the chiefs and she's still put up thirty one points in nine drives. They barely have the ball. They still went over not surprising. Because that's what they've been doing for for months and months and if we had one kernel of information going into the for the last two weeks to to base our analysis on that the chiefs and Patrick Mahomes I would open the third quarter with back to back picks by Patrick Mahomes and that the niners would be nestling a twenty two ten lead minutes into into the fourth. You would think this is a perfect setup for San Francisco to run away with this thing but if you give Patrick Mahomes even ten minutes to operate and it gets hot. Aw everything's off the table. Fifty fifty two and a half minutes of game time the niners down day and I remember thinking as has the game was reaching as it's ticking through the fourth quarter and they have a twenty two ten lead and thinking what made the chief. So unstoppable all when they were humming the regular season but especially in those two comebacks in the AFC playoffs it. was that big play ability. That the niners there's through their dominant front four. Were taking away. Mahomes running for his life just by his brilliance kept the game close because is almost any other quarterback decided. Lamar Jackson has a couple sacks. Fumbles and the game gets away. Like what Von Miller Cam Newton a few years back but he was able to stay on his feet. Keep the game from getting away and the what really sticks out to me at that moment again. Midway through the fourth quarter after the tyreek hill catches is overturned on review. And you feel the entire building is psyching up. It feels like the niners are about to make the big play. Plays away from winning the super. Aw It is third and a miles third and fourteen. I believe third and fifteen and I leaned to my cousin Matt. I said the most likely play. Is You get try to get half of this back and then make a manageable fourth-down fourth and five and get it done. But no that's not what the chiefs do that's not how they operate and even a game where they never made any big plays with the season on the line mahomes dropback. This time found tyreek Hill West on a busted coverage and that changed
Von Miller’s 95-game starting streak over due to hurt knee
"Couple of Broncos will not play join James continues to be out with that problematic knee injury and von Miller in active today this will be the first game that von Miller is best since Super Bowl forty eight that's ninety five consecutive regular season games he was second in the league from the linebackers perspective with the most active games streak at ninety five that will be broken
Broncos star Von Miller walks out on media after holding 13-second press conference
"Broncos are focused on one thing winning and that may account for the brevity with which they are conducting news conferences every Thursday Broncos line backer von Miller meets the media that's often one of the most entertaining press conferences of the week here's Miller's entire press conference this week. got a great week of preparation all right great teammates great coaches I'm excited about the opportunity this week versus the Jaguars got a great great game plan in from side to play clearly the lack of sacks in in three start is weighing on the seven time
Did the Raiders contact Antonio Brown's agent before Brown apologized?
"Something i wanted to get to the bottom of was did the raiders in fact contact. Rosenhaus awesome tonio brown's agent. I've seen this kind of float around but i'm not sure that this is what happens i wanted to see if either of you know <hes> if he was contacted before we're antonio brown's apology on friday and told that the guaranteed money and his contract would be voided as it was at that point so at that point basically antonio only lebron's going in apologizing knowing that the thirty million is a hit is that something that we know was already told to him before the apology or i don't i think to <hes> the bottom line on that is that they didn't have to i mean he knows as well as anybody once they imposed that discipline. They have the right to go after it so i mean i think he's smart enough to know without having that conversation that that was what they were angling for. It was clear we talked about <hes> when we first saw these letters on wednesday basically all those letters. There's are is is a legal paper trail down the road to say here's what happened. We had we had these issues. We had to find him. This is what went on that's all. Those letters are for <hes> so i think rosenhaus kind of knew he probably explai- tube and there i'm positive on some level even though no it's illegal according to the rules of the n._f._l. Under the c._b._a. I'm positive that rosenhaus was talking to other teams and saying if this happens if the contract is voided if for run out what is the market and i'm sure he knew what it was and so like. Did he know those things. I don't. I'm sure he did was explicitly laid out by the raiders. I'm i'm not sure about how that worked but <hes> i'm sure he knew exactly what the situation was yeah so in other words. He knew the patriots were looking at him and that he could play there. Air instead of explicitly said i'm sure he knew what the market was. When you think of maybe this is like a wild theory and so. I got on tin foil hat. You're so picture that all of us but if <hes> excuse me antonio brown got to the raiders he was happy happy for a little while then started practicing with these guys right maybe gets the training camp and he's like what they're not going to be very good and then he's just decides besides you know what bleep this. I'm just going to act ugly. I'm gonna throw crap all over the walls until i'm just going to keep doing it. Even though you tell me to stop even though you tell me you know i'm gonna find you find me on posting on instagram like i'm going to now make it even bigger mess and then he knows that he enforce himself out because he knows that there's maybe a winner. That will be there for him. I think that it's not out of their own with possibility as i now take my tinfoil hat off and put my reporter reporter hat right back on that. This is something that could have happened because when it's five hours after somebody releases you that you are with defending super bowl champions. There's maybe somebody should look into that right. I mean i think i went once the further with my tin foil will happen i tweeted and it was more of a joke but <hes> as as everything in my life does it relates to seinfeld but there was there was an episode of seinfeld where the mets wanted to hire george costanza away from the yankees and they couldn't just hire him because it would be tampering and they wouldn't be able to go hire them away from team so they told him to do everything he could to get fired from the yankees. He started dragging the world series trophy around he was wearing babe ruth pants from the yankee museum. <hes> everything do get fired so that the mets would be able to hire him like in my mind. Bella check like a go create chaos out there. We need to bring you in. That's the only way we can get you and that's again a complete and total conspiracy. Uh but i like to think that it's true. Let's talk about some of the possible reaction and we can expect here from the raiders because i wanna in a hypothesize what derek carr might say about antonio brown's tweet of bumper cars meaning. He and his brother david had been doing some conversation about antonio brown. That's what i interpreted that tweet demean. I can't imagine it would mean anything else so cars generally very nice well-spoken guy in front of the media very even temperament. Do we expect any crazy reaction from him. Certainly not i mean he's a quarterback right and quarterbacks are always is going to be measured in what they say. Now i do sort of wish that we have been hearing directly from derek carr instead of through really an intermediary as his brother on n._f._l. Network right. I think especially because derek carr was in the locker room today and we were told as he came back in that he was not going to be talking and and that's fine. He certainly has that right and he's a quarterback. He speaks one time a week but i just think it would have been nice to hear directly from derek carr car <hes> since you know he had been nothing but supportive i totally respect dirk are not talking but i think that you know it just it just would have been nice to hear from the quarterback in that particular situation and he doesn't have to but he could've essentially descending out press releases. I mean through his approach. That's what he's doing in. They're not it's not it's not like they're being secretive about it. I think that's that's the one thing i'll say about this is like if it was just some secret that if it was some random person in the media and derek carr was feeding things to get it out there and not talking to the media locally but hey i'm gonna feed this to whoever you you know whatever national reporter and it's coming out saying oh source close to the team said like that would be a little bit different to me than in this case. It's basically his brother going on tv serving mrs mouthpiece and saying explicitly. I talked to derrick this morning. Here is what he said. I think they're being pretty open about it. It just it clearly rubbed antonio radio brown the wrong way and you know we saw the other day he unfolded the raiders and derek carr on instagram and then reformed the raiders but not car like that was pretty telling of where they are have a check dam sure he unveiled the raiders as well now he did. Yes yeah <hes> but you know. I think that was incredibly telling that when he did follow the raiders he did not re follow derek carr. You know i it was pretty clear that that relationship was was heading in the wrong way. Even though derek carr continued to say how close they were and how they've played well after field and here's the other thing it listen it's part of the job we understand but how many times jon gruden was asked how many times micmac was asked just how many times derek carr was asked about the distractions in about everything that's going on and how many times they basically said. You're inventing this you guys the media are inventing the story story. No no weren't by the way to the same thing to the readers out there to the fans out there like these things are not invented. There's a reason isn't that story. Lines are storylines. This was something that was going on and it was bubbling over all the time and it was distracting the team. It was bothering the team. It certainly had been an issue for a while and now it just has has reached that point where they couldn't deal with it anymore but i think it would absolutely not be surprising if it was something that tonio earlier brown was like i need to do this i need to get out and this is my way out and the other thing is it wasn't blown out of proportion either. That's the that's the phrase that like gets on my nerves a little bit. <hes> men like all these things you're saying. They were blown out of proportion. It's blown out of proportion. He's just a wide receivers blown out of proportion. Friggin von miller said that on on a conference call the other day no. It's not blown out of proportion when you're yelling at g._m. In practice right you're posting your fines on instagram. When you ask on instagram to be released win. You recorded your ahead coach with a stencil your head coach with the conversation. Put it on a two minute youtube video in a two party consent state. I don't really think any of these things are being blown out of proportion so i love what jonathan abram had to say on twitter and he put this out just about a little over an hour ago he says in today's world the worst drug there is called attention
Von Miller goes full Belichick in postgame press conference after upset win over Steelers
Fantasy football - NFL Week 1 inactive players - injury updates
"AM fantasy football frenzy. Followed by NFL game day ESPN's NFL game day with. Fred Hubner and Steve mongo McMichael teased it second down and goal from the six slot. White ruffle takes the shotgun. Snap again. Shoulder baldwin. All right. So Doug Baldwin all preseason long. We heard about the knee injury that was lingering. And whether or not he was going to be anything more than eighty eighty five percent this year while I don't know if he was just playing possum during the preseason. Because all reports this week were good and positive. I know people the one thing you always have to do with a grain of salt is take the reports that you read in hereabouts and wait until you actually see it play out on the field. Now if Doug Baldwin proves that he's good old reliable Doug Baldwin. Then no worries. You might have yourself quite a bit of a value in terms of where you were able to steal him in your draft. But I will say against the Denver Broncos mile high stadium today, I would be a little bit reluctant to go ahead and start Doug Baldwin because the Broncos they edit Bradley Chubb, they now have those dynamic edge rushers that they had when they won the Super Bowl. Obviously Chubb in the plainly DeMarcus ware role while von Miller. Lying the von Miller role. Just like he didn't that Super Bowl year? So the Broncos presents a pretty stiff d for Seahawks today, and I would be a little reluctant to start Doug Baldwin today. I kind of want to see it out in the field. Make sure that he's completely one hundred percent before I go ahead and just lock him into my lineup. That said though, it kind of depends upon your option and Pat in lumbered has that dilemma, and so let's see what he's got Pat,
Bradley Chubb, Denver Broncos and Von Miller discussed on After Hours With Amy Lawrence M
"Time they invested to work these guys out to watch them at their own pro days to talk to them at combines and other private meetings and then bradley chubb falls into their laps and so paint it the broncos ended up selecting the north carolina state defensive end and von miller was thrilled i mean this is pretty impressive pick for the denver broncos these two guys as the book ends chub and von miller and chubb had already heard that von miller was raving about him and so i think there's mutual admiration society anyway eight five five two one two four two two seven sean is in sacramento welcome to after hours cbs sports radio thank you for taking my call lamey i appreciate it oh man so i know i know people are thinking that this is the great thing about the broncos but i just feel like it's a spoiler rich is why when you already have a ferrari and a monster garage you go to your lamp caney we already working with derek wolfe we're already worked with von miller and instead of doing what we were we were supposed to do and pick up a quarterback i don elway himself released those tweets and posts by josh slice us we pick up another defensive end i mean i guess he's the best player available but the same time it's like the defense is in our problem right now we don't even have a running back.
