European MPs Targeted by Deepfake Video Calls
"Someone impersonating a spokesman for imprisoned russian opposition figure alexander navalny conducted zoom meetings with european parliament members. The sessions featured. "Welcome back. You're listening to art. Goes downtown from the simpsons. Hit run game composed by marc baril. Jeff thomas cook in alan levy also pry the last episode. We did where this track was played. It was episode. Twenty five dash six being based around the simpsons and originally when we pick that episode topic. I genuinely believe that. Not as the music would all be bad. But that there'd be nothing on it that would really stand out because it was all like you know. Licensed game was also before they asked pat. People like hurt doing music for licensed games. And i didn't wanna do like a whole episode of the arcade game music And that's a lotta people remember but then discovered some cool tracks and some that were okay. This particular track which was not just okay was superb. Blew your socks off. I listened to it in the carnell. Listen to it at the gym. Now i listen to it while working out in the basement. I play this all the time. In fact it's funny. How i can genuinely feel like every track i pick and some of them may well fall under this they can all just track i to in my day to day life i would have picked him for the show but then like you know what i just over time and never stop ever so. It's a good song it's a nice. It's a good length to because it can loop and there's still so much happening and it's still three or four minutes and it's got so many cool things going on but it's a it's a it's an infinite loop type trag. I went to a job new jersey and back i know shocking especially nowadays but i drove all the way the jersey and then back and the entire trip back. This track just played the entire tone. I mean i was going eighty miles an hour but still us thinking about this a while back because i used to drive to play. Ddr every weekend would go out to jersey. And i'll get on the turnpike or i'll get onto the other highways three twenty something i don't know and we twenty two twenty two. I forget there's another. There's another highway thirty. We're going to figure this out later. Shout numbers at each other. But it's kinda parallel to seventy parallel to ninety to ninety five. Thank you for not just shutting numbers at each other but that was the actual number one. It just kind of mind but i would go on these trips. I'd be like oh man. Awesome driving for like forty minutes to an hour so boring but then. I thought i didn't have an mp3 player. I had a cd player. So i would just put in a cd. And if i listen to this all the way through the time it's done. I'm at the place and so i listened to tenacious d and just over and over again i would just be like okay s. It's nasa's is over. I will get there listening at the tribute song or whatever the sasquatch song that would be at the spot i also do that with super euro. Be something from a from an initial the initial super battle mix but i will say s dangerous business. I can't speak for everybody. But i can definitely say that No i have like obviously if people will listen you also know. My favorite genre of music is pretty much shooting what that doesn't mean. I generally listen to shoe on the car. And this. isn't this this. This was a shoe gay song. This is like this is like a pop punk greens. So i listen to when it comes to gm all over the place but the weird thing about is that be gm. Generally when i listen to anyway is energetic. The perks you guess you get you excited so unfortunately if i'm blessing great. Bgn mukarram usually speeding driving. Recklessly brian mega worse. Like if i'm gonna lane by myself and this clear. I might pop one hundred okay. You don't have to tell the police about this. But if you're on one of the many beautiful turnpike's east coast pennsylvania turnpike that crazy gushers. He turnpike in the new york three way. Oh talk about boring drive. That's music like this. Kicks ed because again. If you're you get your own lane which means that. There's no risk jim. Fillers any risk of you like hitting any other card or anything like my old truck or to drive a blazer. Ninety eight blazers old car. And if i got to so much as eighty miles now early start to shake and rattle about the fall apart. It could not hold it once. I got my current car. It was designed to go like one hundred and fifty hundred sixty miles to remember. You can believe it. You're like wait a minute driving way too fast and eighteen. Just wait up. This is crazy so like now. This stuff is easy for me. Like if i'm not paying attention in the music kids just right in the lane is open. I will easily crack insane speeds and then like just be glad at a competency me do it when i realize how fast i'm going starring personnel milk toes vo van johnson as van johnson. That would be your out there. Boosting cars fast fast and furious named is bad johnson. I like to drive fast fast cheese steaks. Oh yeah delicious chased against my my current one hot sauce and teriyaki. So that's the combo justice and it worked on man. I have time hot sauce last night. What did i eat. I had a burrito. Because i couldn't eat any leftovers gas. I needed a break. The downside to thanksgiving so tired. Good food okay. I'm not going to focus around my number five cornell. This is number five. Oh wait before you choose it five. I think as you were going to name off to dummy tracks you pick 'cause you remember how us somebody i picked. The new ended up eight tracks. Four of them were yours. Okay three of them were mine. One of them was a guest. The number one is yours but technically not wait. How the technically nine. We'll get to that because we've had some weird shows but three of your tracks did not make my cut. But they're very good. I can give an honorable. Mentions at the end of the show. I appreciate you i know about. We might even still listen to it anyway. Because i love the song but this is the first one. This is number five. It's from stink. Face jams with bruce irons. I love that they first of all number one. I love cameron. He's a great do is genuine. He's real and he's friendly. He's inclusive addicts the best jumping shot. He he hits threes over and over again. I keep talking about my friend And just it's really good to know it to meet people through the podcast and meet people through music Who are just who were just really great people to to to now. I'm really. I feel really to know cameras. So this is on his show. Stink face chance which is idea which was any jam that makes you pull a stink face and but this is my track that i found. There have been created where only the top twelve drives in the championship guaranteed seats for next year includes chadwick so should she want to. She can come contest next year potentially with another five hundred thousand which would be nice but b._s._a. Period going into bronx. She was kind of she's in tenth place but it was kind of on the cusp of may be dropping out of that top twelve actually a brunch mush elevate herself to ninth breath and so for that she'll win fifty thousand dollars. She joked she i. She needs a natural car to drive around in so that might be what she's easing that will for granted runflat. Yes she said sensibly is yes. She said she wanted to many keeper was what she wanted to invest the rest but then she wanted it more so it's good isn't it map but this isn't criticized. The process is a pretty impressive way better than basically anything else but if you call four thousand dollars that's not enough to get you insert formula three seats or an s._e._c. a again. I want us to criticize the amount but it says it says a lot about the scale of the the challenge. That's not quite drop in the ocean but it's it's not the whole ocean. I think it's five hundred thousand is at least enough to make an impact on the budget for the next it could be it could be a could be a difference maker whereas low of <unk> price in the past really happy to drop in the ocean or they've been tests the one go anywhere and this is at least worth walsum yet further down the field is fantastic reserved against seven grants but it's not gonna do much for their <hes> an for their racing career bills someplace else yeah absolutely i think we talked when we had the first podcast else called cast and less about how amazing if the opportunities around w series we're just not it wasn't just a single gender opportunity in some ways but this this philosophy was rolled out to other junior single seater series and you could get this development thrive in an and the the no teams car rotation engineer rotation ethos authorities. It's a brilliant way of of running a championship to develop people and to get the funding behind behind do something like this. You really need a catchy idea and just a genius single seater series without the element of yes. This is going to the groundbreaking. Women series wouldn't have got money behind. It wouldn't have got the emphasis so <hes> i'm sure people listening to this will go there so many underfunded talented male drivers out there who need five hundred grand <hes> and help from hints the performance and all these opportunities there but that's that's also not really the point of his who co improvement over the overall results when necessary anything and especially also coming up on the royals yeah. I think there are a few drivers. It's up. There isn't really a midfield as such because of course it's all the same car but there are definitely a few he drivers in the midfield that were consistently consistently that old our bikes and scoring points in eight people like tasman pepper mickey coma. They have done fantastically just just to prove that they're really good names for the series papillon vo van tesa took pole at masonic. She has always been roundabout the sharp head and i think she'd be one to watch if she returns to the series next year as well up. Also i really think he's worth machine back and go cts who was involved in the opening lap crash <hes> hockenheim she. She's the youngest driver on the grid. Then she held hands up to responsibility for the accident but she actually won the reverse grid non don't championship race asset so i think for her to have gone from crashing hockenheim and then she has been at the back of the field for the for the duration of the races and she was actually dropped norris ring. She was an dropped into reserve position. W series reserves the right to evaluate drive performance out the whole year and they took her out for kesse. I say so. I think to have gone through that to sort of bean right at the back into <hes> have struggled..

So that's saying something looking forward to that. Okay. Smart home becoming more and more popular every day, you want to control everything right? And the guy closest to us. That's a part of the movement. Craig gals. This started over a few months ago and the desire to make everything in the home smart hard, the movement. I like being part of the movement. That's fine. I'm reading there is a movement more more consumer, and yeah, I would include you in that is trying to lead the charge on this show. You like the Alexa, Vo Van Alexa. I just got the second exit for the bedroom. Now, it's in there. Okay. Yeah. But I got the Alexa input. It's an echo input. So it pairs with another bluetooth speaker. It's not its own speaker. And that's what's in my bedroom. All right. So is there anything in this story that we have that would give you pause for continuing on with the smart home. The biggest pitch to people to be afraid of smart technologies that it's all being rushed to the market right now because of the demand, so there's a lot of people making a lot of smart things. And maybe every single company is not checking it stuff as well. As it should every so often you hear about nest or something else getting hacked because there's a lot of easy ways to hack stuff, if you're not if you're not doing a really good job making it in the first place, but the problem because it's incredibly competitive the market right now. But it does turn on when I tell Alexa to turn it on. So that's pretty cool. So pros and cons here. Really, jamie. Okay. I just thought it was funny in this story that we have say, just beware. This is a guy that his quote, I run a team of hackers. He does. So I know how to hack into things a lot of this stuff is very easy to hack into right? Yeah. Yeah. And his company actually helps find flaws and then correct them for people. Yes. Did you said, you know, criminals, rob banks because that's where the money is. And they'll commit cybercrimes because that's where the opportunity is. And it's easy to get all sorts of your info. If there are leaks in your systems everywhere that could be controlling your temperature. It could be turning the TV volume up. Whatever it is that you're controlling with the voice. Well, apparently anything that I connect to my home network if you can like hack into my light bulb. You could maybe steal all my stuff. But I don't care my lights go on when I tell Alexis. It's worth the risk board's today. I felt a little warm when I woke up so I told exited turn the temperature down then I started feel cold. So went back up. I didn't have to get out of bed. Jamie was great. Okay. I had a theme song play when I actually got out of. Each day. Yeah. You're the best around from the karate kid. Yes. It is you're making that I was talking to Robbins about it the other day. So I wanted to try it out. So what I wake up the alarm goes off. And then it switches to you're the best around. It was kind of a pleasant way to wake up. I gotta be honest. My cash it actually happened when I get back home to on my device shows up at home, I will walk into a home with all the speakers. Now's playing you're the best around. I can't say anything. I just I don't want to tell my wife. I want her to experience it and see what she thinks as we know your wife is not really a fan of some fan now. And when I wake up a it's like man, man, I feel a little cold. I just kind of scrunch up a little bit more and try to get more blanket on me. But then you have to get out of the bed or you get out of the bed. That's just part of now. I got under the bed do six. It's okay. Other hassle in my life. Okay. Moving on. Did you see the story? The actress giving up boasts while her kids, grow up and Hathaway. Yeah, she's given up booze for a little while this was on Ellen show talking about there was a time, you know, that she went to a meeting hung over and it affected her performance in the meeting and people started to talk people started to notice it and evidently that and another thing with involving your kid was enough. So she's giving it up for her kid. Wow. I quit drinking back in October. Like like forever. Preteen years. I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna stop drinking while my my son's living in my house. Just because I don't totally love the way. I'd do it. And he's getting to an age where he really does need me. All the time in the mornings. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I do. I did one school run one day where I up it's why wasn't driving, but I was hung over. And for me. I didn't love. Yeah. Yeah. Another reason. I don't want kids. Allen's reaction is so funny to me. Forever. That's the whole good for you. I'm happy for you. Not for me. But I'm happy for you. That's really interesting. Well, I know a couple of people who have done something similar to that. Which I mean, there was one friend of mine I've known her for years, she had a kid and the kid was maybe about around a year old, and we all went out group of friends, and I weigh in her went out and went to a bar that was her first time out of the house since the kid was born, and she may have had a few too many vodka tonics because that was the first night to really cut loose. Right. So she cuts loose. And then the next day. Apparently, she was so hung over. She missed her baby's first steps. Oh, wow. And that was the day. I would never describe her as an alcoholic drinking problem. It was that one night she got too drunk. But after that, she said she told everybody, I'm not trying to get on a high horse or anything that was a low moment for me. Sure, I never want to miss another moment. Like that again. And then she that was years ago. She still doesn't drink at all. Yeah. She's done. So is what you're saying to me. Then. Once my kid gets out of school that I'm back out. I'm back baby. Take you out to the. It's only like five years from now. That's not for me. No, it's really interesting and talking about, you know, like first steps the other controversy talking about kids that's out there. And I'm not quite sure why it's a controversy. It's the NFL prospect who is skipping the birth of his trial to pursue his career in football. It's the click bait headline that makes everybody say how dare he do that? Okay. From because it's incredibly competitive the market right now. But it does turn on when I tell Alexa to turn it on. So that's pretty cool. The pros and cons here. Really, jamie. Okay. I just thought it was funny in the story that we have say, just beware. This is a guy that his quote, I run a team of hackers. He does. So I know how to hack into things a lot of this stuff is very easy to hack into right? Yeah. And his company actually helps find flaws and then correct them for people. Yes. Did you say criminals, rob banks because that's where the money is? And they'll commit cybercrimes because that's where the opportunities, and it's easy to get all sorts of your info. If there are leaks in your systems everywhere that could be controlling your temperature. It could be turning the TV volume up. Whatever it is that you're controlling what's a voice. Well, apparently anything that. I connect to my home network if you can hack into my light bulb you could maybe steal all my stuff. But I don't care my lights go on when I tell to Mon it's worth the risk board's today. I felt a little warm when I woke up so I told him exit to turn the temperature down. I started to feel cold so back up. I didn't have to get out of bed. Jamie. Great. Okay. I had a theme song play when I actually got out of bed. For me day. You're the best around from the karate kid. Yes. It is. You're making that I was talking to Robbins about it the other day. So I wanted to try it out. So it it what I wake out the alarm goes off. And then it switches to you're the best around. It was kind of a pleasant way to wake up. I gotta be honest. My cash it actually will happen when I get back home to my device shows up at home, I will walk into a home with all the speakers. Now's playing you're the best around. I can't say anything. I just I don't want to tell my wife. I want her to experience it and see what she thinks as we know your wife is not really a fan of fan. Now when I wake up in a it's like man, I feel a little cold. I just kind of scrunch up a little bit more and try to get more blanket on me. But then you have to get out of the bed or when you get out of the bed. That's just part of. I got under the bed do seventy six. It's okay. The other hassle in my life. Yeah. Okay. Moving on. Did. You see the story of the actress giving up booze while her kids grow up and Hatheway she's given up booze for a little while this was on Ellen show talking about there was a time, you know, that she went to a meeting hung over and it affected her performance in the meeting and people started to talk people started to notice it. And evidently that and another thing with involving your kid was enough. So she's giving it up for her kid. I quit drinking back in October. Like like forever. Eighteen years. I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna stop drinking while my small my son's living in my house. Just because I don't totally love the way I'd do it. And he's getting to an age where he really does need me. All the time in the morning. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I do. I did one school run one day where I got them off. It's why wasn't driving. But I was going over and Belle. Yeah. Yeah. Now, the reason I don't want kids. Ellen's reaction is so funny to me. I'm forever. That's the whole good for you. I'm happy for you. Not for me. But I'm happy for you. That's really interesting. Well, I think I know a couple of people who have done something similar to that. Which is I mean is one friend of mine I've known her for years, she had a kid and the kid was maybe about around a year old, and we all went out group of friends, and I the way and herb went out and went to a bar that was her first time out of the house since the kid was born, and she may have had a few too many vodka tonics because I was the first night to really cut loose. Right. So she cuts loose. And then the next day. Apparently, she was so hung over. She missed her baby's first steps. Oh, wow. That was the day. I would never describe her as an alcoholic drinking problem. There was that one night she got too drunk. Take you out to the bar. That's not the only like five years from now. Oh, that's not for me. No, it's really interesting and talking about, you know, like first steps the other controversy talking about kids that's out there. And I'm not quite sure why it's a controversy. It's the NFL prospect who is skipping the birth of his child to pursue his career in football. It's the click bait headline that makes everybody say how dare he do.

But I I want to try and do a version of it with hand tools, and I went through some of his other videos that are just some release sweet stuff a lot of good inspiration on there that I want to be in and do myself. So definitely worth taking a look at his crazy. Puzzle box. It looks like one of those their shape games you had a kid where you put blocks in from different sides. But they're buttons on your side that are shaped. And then it's a tumbler that is, you know, like a combination tumbler accepted. There's two of them to the open this thing up in it's complicated. Cool to Zach what you got. You know, I haven't really been doing a whole lot of reading reading a another design book emotional design by Don Norman, a us listening to sort listened to the knife talk podcast. That's that's pretty good. I'm I'm about probably fifteen twenty episodes in their short as Lada in pretty much it for me. It's been kind of a calm week has been nice can a cool for this time of year. Yeah. Cool. Well, do you have a favorite product of the week? I'm gonna go with my ice. Oh tunes. Bluetooth year buds. I think that's what they call him the time of quite. Yeah. So, you know, a lot of the stuff that I've been doing in the shop is just loud enough to not be able to hear my. I haven't Alexa in the shop. That's I love it. Because it's great for when you recording because he can just, you know, say Alexa, pause. And then shoot you're seeing and then go back to listening. But you know, I. I haven't been recording much lately. And just like when I'm listening to a podcast. I I have to hear every word like, I can't it drives me nuts. Like, I can't. I'm not one of those people can listen to something in like leave the room for a minute and come back like I I wanna hear every single. And depending on what you're doing a lot of machinery and stuff is just loud in are. You can't do that through my Alexa. So yeah, they've been and I don't even know they had a promotion at the beginning of the month. I don't know if it's still active, but if anybody's looking at that, you can try the try h f see if it works on their website might might give you discount. There's my Christmas presents made. Mike it nothing much RG more. What about you will? Or should we say the will bought three hundred is the Chad is calling you at. Yeah. So the bottle stopper. Chuck, Mandrell, whatever you wanna call it that goes onto your lathe spindle. If you're doing the thing with the threaded inserts on the laid it saying is like it's cheap. It's like sixteen bucks. Fee that the workflow like all stop her work. It's really ask Zeus screw the blank right on. But turn your thing. Take it off. And then it goes into the bottle, stopper inserts straight off that so yeah, let's let's see if they have one of those for spring poll is..

"Were you able to also look at the needs of internal customers within Amazon because obviously your AWS. So you have a certain perspective on what developers want because you're just dealing with customers all the time. There are plenty of developers who spin up infrastructure on AWS, but there are also developers within Amazon that are developing applications within the company, and I'm sure some of them were on the bleeding edge and using Docker. Maybe some of them were not. How did the internal use cases for containers, contrast with what you were seeing in the customer base of startups and other companies that were using AWS at the time? One of the nice things. Is be do. Get the advantage of looking with Amazon teams just do with other large customers and they have their own set of problems. I would say that at the time you just kind of interesting. We had customers that you would expect small startups who wanted to run fast, but we also had a bunch of logic companies establish infrastructures will looking at containers very seriously, and I'm as teams fall into that category. I think what to get out of them is dead very strong notions and expectations at an operational excellence. So it was very important for us to have itchy s support scale and ability to operate a, you know, for an internet scale service, right from day one, I think that's where the needs of not just internal teams, but Elijah internet customers drove us from the beginning. And when you when you think about today, how do the challenges of containerization today differ if we're talking about a single developer versus a small. Startup versus a large enterprise because these different tiers of software engineering, they develop or they adopt containers for different reasons. That's what in fact, that's part of the fun. I think I'll go back to a Augusta's Vo Van be stopped in what we see today. I think that'll have bonds at this question three full years ago, customers.

And when he called and said, Kentucky wasn't special and I was driving and I hope I wasn't asleep at the wheel. But I thought he said, I thought it said something about LSU not being special or maybe he said they were special, but I will listen to the podcast and cleared that up. But I understood him to say LSU wasn't special. You know me. I'm so smart. I missed the Kentucky comments. I must have been sleep. I was sleeping when he was talking, allows asleep at the wheel. Myself anyway, must fall. I don't know if you've listened to any of the shows when you weren't own the show you. Usually, there's a reason why I'm either traveling or or last week I was at an event. Anyway, met each the way. He told me the same thing. Good. Teach your own horn. Nobody else while you're right. Well, math in Georgia called in and did his usual. The mix caller was legend and legend talked about a few things football. And then I think one of the last things he said was met from Georgia was living proof that the shit of them a lifeguard at the gene pool, and that's one of the funniest lines I is really good. I agree. That was that was classic. He's, he is a great call. One last thing real quick. Soren petro, you need to see if you could fix him up with about a month in a Holiday Inn express.
