Buford man arrested in connection to Capitol riots to appear in Atlanta court

"You could make that nine Georgians arrested in connection with the January 6 riots at the U. S. Capitol. The latest is a man from Buford 49 year old Virgin Aaliyah. Buford will face three felony charges for his alleged participation in the insurrection. The FBI says he was with America's attorney, William Calhoun, when the sea of Trump supporters overran police barricades and storm the capital. Nalley can't afford a lawyer and has been appointed a public defender. A bond hearing is scheduled for this afternoon in Atlanta. But if it goes like most of the other 200 who were arrested, it'll likely be denied before his trial. Calhoun is in that same boat. He'll be prosecuted in

Britney Spears' conservatorship, explained

"Justin timberlake publicly apologized to britney spears even though their relationship ended like twenty years ago. The apology has a lot less to do their bygone romance and much more to do the reckoning over how this country treats its famous young women and britney spears has gone from something of a villain in this story to something much more closely resembling a hero. The freebritney movement deserves much of the credit for that transformation. It's a fan driven campaign which hopes to liberate brittany from her conservatorship constance. Grady has been covering free brittany for. Vox so a conservative ship is illegal solution for what happens if you're an adult but you can't make decisions for your life in your best interests. So this is something that is used if you have a mental health condition or brain injury You're developing dementia. And you're unable to care for yourself. So accord will assign someone to do that for you. So britney went under conservatorship in two thousand eight and under the terms of her conservatorship. She's not in control of her finances or business or personal life so for about two years now going back actually to the point that the conservatorship was set in place in two thousand eight but most intensely for the past two years and especially now since the release of be new documentary framing. britney spears. Fans have been speculating. That the conservatorship has left britney spears as a prisoner in her life and that she might need to be rescued. Okay well let's go back to two thousand eight and talk about why britney spears was placed under this conservatorship. If you think back to two thousand eight you might remember that. There was just nonstop goth coverage of britney spears that year relief and in two thousand seven especially as well. They're repoprt ati following her around. All the time would like wait outside her limo when she was going to clubs to take up strict photos of her and then the entire internet would discuss her underwear and she was starting to react back to them. In increasingly bizarre ways she started yelling at the paparazzi in a british accent once he attacked hover car with an umbrella. Please please seed saved her own head up. Which was all photographed by paper off. They're very famous pictures of her sort of grinning and holding up a to her scalp. She went in and out of rehab. A few times that to the pictures were all over teams. The press helps them now and is performed at the emmy in two thousand seven in this kind of infamous performance where she was sleepwalking through it the press discussed whether she was fat now lot there was a lot going on for her. It was not a good year. Fears has lost so she fits under psychiatric hold twice. What does that mean. She is put in a mental hospital and not allowed to leave what happened. I think that one angle of what happened to britney that we have to hit here. Is that the media industries incredibly sexist straight and even more so when she was coming up. There's one subject we didn't discuss. What was that. everyone's talking about it. Well you'll breasts. There is that whole narrative about whether britain a real virgin and that some like ruin adults would ask her at press conferences. And my of virgin. I think especially when she was with justin timberlake and they've never really cared about justin timberlake's virginity because who would. It was just about britney in her schoolgirl uniform. And you know each. She actually a good girl. There was this intense very sexualize focus on her life. That just wasn't there. In quite the same way for her male cohort. No matter how famous they were. It's hard to imagine that that did anything good for her. And then why does the conservative. Come about a month after the second psychiatric hold. Her father says these are not working. Long-term go under a hold. A doctor will say okay. You're fit to live your own life. Now she'll go out and then she'll spiral and it happens again. So he asked the court for emergency temporary conservatorship over brittany the courts. Brandt that order and then it becomes permanent.

How Media Differs in Coverage of Trump Impeachment Trial

"From wnyc in new york. This is on the media. Bob garfield is away. This week. i'm brooke gladstone writing early on friday. My impeachment experienced this week was incomplete consisting of an incoherent improvisation in the first act. That's a rare. Bipartisan view and a clarion concatenation. In the second try listeners. Too often with a phrase like that. And you're asking for trouble but it's so good clarion a clear ringing stirring sound concatenation and interlocking sequence in this case in unbreakable narrative chain. Wow nd around the senate to extract a verdict of guilty. Some senators said they felt the case presented against trump built on months of his words and deeds climaxing in violent rampage. Black physical memory of trauma. Indeed the point was to convey the truth in body as well as mind and the truth is president. Trump had spent months hauling his supporters to a march on a specific day at a specific time in specific places to stop the certification. You will not be hearing extended lectures for me because our case is based on cold hard facts at trial we will prove overwhelming evidence that president trump is singularly and directly responsible for inciting the salt on the capital. They took away your vote. It's rigged that was not true. According to judge after judge the truth was exactly the opposite president. Donald john trump incited this violence. This is what the evidence has overwhelmingly shown. And we'll show in this trial. it's also the truth. There are evidence came from an impressive array of sources. fbi affidavits media reports capital. Police radio recordings along thirty second videos captured by documentary ins citizen. Journalists capitol security camera footage live streaming insurrectionists and the presentation of trump's own tweets as. They were posted during the attack to prove to at least seventeen republican senators that he had not only incited the january sixth insurrection but helped plan it they had originally planned rallies for january twenty second and january. Twenty third after the inauguration but donald trump had other plants on december nineteenth president trump tweeted his save date for january six. He told his supporters to come to dc for a big protests the day billing it as wild just days later women for america first amended their permit to hold their rally on january six. That was stacey plaskitt delegate for the united states virgin islands for the prosecution. Here's what the fbi said. And i quote other members of the group talked about things. They had done that day and they said that anyone they got their hands on they would have killed including nancy. Pelosi and that quote they would have killed vice president. Mike pence if given the chance combining cctv footage with a diagram of the capital. She showed how very close members of congress had been to the mob and they showed video of the senators themselves watching themselves evacuate including a very close. Call for senator mitt romney. He shook his head. He told reporters he had never seen. Not video. before. I saw senator bill cassidy and important republican in this whole proceeding still as a stone except for his pen which was moving in his fingers. Josh hawley republican senator from missouri. The guy photographed holding up his fist in solidarity with the rioters on january six did not brandish his midst wednesday. He just averted. His is all the senators. Have the option to use the gallery. And the upstairs area for seating for social distancing. Josh hawley is the only one taking advantage of that opportunity. He's been sitting with his legs on the seat in front of msn reading non-related material in twenty minutes. or so. i was in the chamber just now. i didn't see him. Look down really at all to engage. Emerging Opportunities and Exciting Business Lessons with John-Paul Iwuoha

"Now. We are talking about africa. I wanna know john paul. Why why do we need to keep africa on our radar very interesting question. So one one thing that keeps me. Loyal to entrepreneurs on fire is the quality of stories and experiences of ultra preneurs. Who've made it that's one big reason. Why listen and. I'm also sure that's why many people listen to the show but interesting is what being on entrepreneur means that you're able to live in the now and also prepare for future so it's almost impossible to think about the future and nothing about and here's why when you look at the population of the world. Africa correctly has the youngest population of people. Right now sixty percents of people on the continent of the age of twenty five. So this is more or less looking at china. Before china became china up to date china more or less the second biggest economy in the world the factory of the world and all of that so you can imagine that people who saw china. The china became china. Actually the ones who got in on the meat of the game. So that's exactly what africa represents but more importantly there have been events in the past couple of years that have put africa in the centerpiece. The very most the most recent one which is very interesting is covid now all the time most companies have built their supply chains around china and south east asia but then when it hits it was obvious that supply chains with very vulnerable. And if you're going to diversify your supply chain. It's impossible not to look at africa if you're looking at affordable label if you look at them. The truck symmetry of the continental either north america or europe. And what are the means. Most countries on the continent either speak english or french and these are more or less global line. Which is you're going to penetrate any of the big markets and. It's really now happening. Because what the chinese are doing is the chinese. Market is starting to specialize in advanced high-tech stuff. I most of those low cost production that brought business the whole of storing from america. When are beginning to see going to places like vietnam. Bangladesh and other countries in southeast asia. But then you cannot forgo a population of one point three billion people which is what africa presents and what we're seeing is some companies setup accretions within the african continent places like rwanda at the opium ghana senegal. And what they're doing is they are preparing. These guys are digging for the future and one interesting. That's happened in the last four years in america. Is the people in africa. So in america when you think about africa the image that comes to mind is charity and philanthropy. Africa needs. Needs help and help and help. So the approach of the americans this time and even europe has been to help africa give africa aid. Give them all of that. What the chinese are doing is they're coming with more or less trade and business and things. What africa needs really because you have this population of very young people enterprising people. I mentioned that sixty percent of the world's uncle beats at arable. Land is in africa so in most parts of the world with maxed out the land space. Yes we're doing. We're using technology and other means to increase the yield on the land. But when we're talking about virgin space. Federal land arable land. Most of it is still in africa. Still cultivated and we're looking at a global population that is set to double back at least by the time we reach two hundred fifty or more according to the un and if we do not keep pace with globe with population growth would amount of food were producing then the world is going to be faced with serious threat of hunger so these are just a few examples of why africa needs to be on your rita. Yes so thinking about now. It's great but you're thinking about the future you need to remember that even before could hit five of the top. The top ten fastest growing economies in the world when africa. These are not really things. We've seen the mainstream media. Why i'm happy that chain. Is that the approach of the chinese in africa. Doo controversial is a big difference. This guy's coming here boots on the ground and they're dealing with the market. The previous relationship with africa has been to deal with africa's governments give african governments money for age and they develop africa unfulfilled years. It's never happened instead. It's helped enhance corruption. A sense of entitlement and dependency so most of the problems never get so because that's free money free money fluent in from europe money flowing in from north america so what people like us exist to do is to show that the people we should be voting. For with our money is the entrepreneur's they're the ones who have the incentive and the motivation to really solve africa's problems and guess what's global money starting to call me and i'm sure many ago minova listeners. On on on entrepreneur no stripe the big global player in in payments strike just acquired an african company. Niger company for two hundred million dollars. That's a major exit and it's stories like this that are starting to prove that africa is not a charity case. Africa is opportunity. The programs are trying to solve through eight. Actually need to be solved through entrepreneurship and the process. We create more jobs more wealth and greeted big happier world john. Let's talk about what you see as the most interesting opportunities that exist right now. I mean you talked about a lot of opportunities. I love how you really are hammering home. The fact that entrepreneurship is what is going to turn africa around and really bring that continents into the as we move forward into twenty twenty one and beyond but specifically what are the one or two most interesting and fascinating opportunities in the business world that you're seeing right now. The first interesting one is more or less. I talked about it earlier. In terms of africa's potential to produce food because right now we're looking for the next food basket of the world and one interesting that africa offers is the or what's we've we now know as superfoods so for example there's a grain that's grown in west africa. It's a green code for new now. This green is so rich in cultural significance for example when the tombs of ancient in jim ships are more or less opel excavated amongst other materials. Like honey. and things like that four new for new f- who is one of the greens that it that the ancient egyptians actually put in the the pyramids in the borough chambers of dead feroz. That's tell you how important it was back. Then this is like one of the longest growth one of the greens has been grown the longest in history almost five thousand years now. The reason why new is important is when you look at the american market and european market more or less developed world and you see how important health and wellness is this all about eighteen. Organic food. Gluten free food and things like that you announced that to see if like for new is actually superfood but in africa is grown by people in africa eating by people that i start to see what america has done with them a green assira like we know what which is more or less breakfast zero before quinoa became like a blockbuster serial in america it had the same profile as phone. You in south america. So what we're beginning to see. Is they celebrate to ship in. New york is named spear pm. He's now taken for neo his packaged. It's not just in its physical formats but in the narrative that used salads and last year. I think it's early this year. It got the national distribution across the united states in whole foods. You know to distribute this kind of food and new just one. I know listeners may be familiar with moringa which is another superfood. it grows in the wild in africa. We really take you for granted over yet. But then we've sent entrepreneurs coming here and repackage it into something that selling like a lot because it resonates resonates with the health and wellness movements the big trend going on in the

Gamestop, Reddit, and Robin Hood: How r/WallStreetBets gamed the stock of GameStop

"Is what is game. Stop so the game stop. I'm most familiar with is in this terrible strip mall in iowa city but as a place of physical place usually located in a mall of some kind strip mall or otherwise that you physically go to buy physical copies of video games and now as i think everyone is aware it is totally possible to buy video games online now right and what that means is that the physical businesses at malls have been in trouble for a minute and then the pandemic happened and that made things worse because people are staying home now. Game stop has been shorted pretty consistently for quite some time. Because a lot of people think it's going to fail for the reasons i just outlined every time someone says a stock has been shorted. I nod my head of Yes i have heard the explanation shorting stock means it is. It is a complicated thing. Where you you buy the stock and then you lend it to somebody and then they they hang onto it and then you buy it back and if the stock goes down the new win and yes i i do understand this no i don't i don't get i don't understand. Hope works so the t. l. d. r. explanation is that shorting stock is betting that it will go down and the mechanical way that you do. This is you. You locate somebody who owns a stock and this is usually an institutional investor because they tend to be pretty by hold. They don't do a ton of traits. And when you do this you are paying that holder fee in order to borrow okay and so what you do is you pay them the fee and you borrow their stock and then you sell it and then you wait for it to come down and you buy it back and you give it back to the original people and the difference between the top and the bottom is basically what you get minus your fee right. So yes i understand. I understand that yes i mean this is. Let me put this in a physical way because it might be easier okay. Let's say that. I borrow your iphone. Okay it's a brand new iphone. And i from you and i say i'll give this back to you in two weeks and during that time apple has just a fire sale on that specific kind of iphone. And so what i do is i. I sell your iphone at the original price. And then i go buy the cheaper iphone and give it back to you. Okay okay. I understand the difference between those things is my money. Got it right. So that's what they're doing but with stocks so everyone has been doing this two game. Stop because you know it's it's it must be failing business so there's a bunch of investors shorting the stock and i just want to. I wanna stop right there. Yeah i want to ask two questions threshold questions wine. Do we actually think. Game stop is a good business right like we're now completely untethered from that question on this thursday afternoon like we share. It has nothing to do with game. Stop as a business anymore. But i don't like all of us are bound by the virgins ethics policy. We cannot trade in stocks in companies. We cover we don't index funds. Which is its own. If you read matt levine's newsletter bloomberg comes with its own weird problems like that's basically what we were allowed to own broad mass market index funds. If you listen to show you know are always disclosing things. That's your disclosure for the day. But if i was to be sort of person who could buy stock. And i was like betting on the market. I'd clinton gain stop. I haven't heard that name in a while. I bet that sox going to go down. I shouldn't buy it just like i buy all my games. Digitally i'm getting a. Ps five like the only one who bought a digital edition. That's just who i am us. Only by two games a year. so it's not videos. Is it a good business. Lists like is there. Is there case games to get better. Yeah i mean there is a case. I don't know enough about the space to be able to tell you whether it's a good case but there is one and the cases that game stop also has an online way of selling games and it's been growing a lot and a couple of weeks ago. This guy who used to be the ceo of chewy. They're bored with two other people and so the the bull case the case that this is going to be a good stock is that these people are going to turn it around and they're going to create this wonderful online business for game stop and then you know they'll close. Maybe some of the mall stores in the turnaround will let game stop. Be good again.

Zcoin: Looking After The Community With Reuben Yap

"Let's start off with you. Know for viewers. What exactly is a z coin. There's a lot of privacy. Focused crypto currencies out there. Different types of token people are sometimes confused between the differences. So you know how long has z coin been out and what exactly is some of the benefits you can do it. Right so Zeke hainan Main in two thousand sixteen. I think probably in the work of oil probably sought bali one and a half years before that. can be launching the twentieth of september. Two thousand sixteen so we can just post office having Just like i mean upper months ago. So that's really exciting and what we do in z. Coin that we really really belief in the importance of a ripple that is uncensored book and private because we feel that if you want to have an ought to ought to the financial system in asked to be both Private and or it to be uncensored in unseasonable privacy's also asked important As well especially with bitcoin now you know every single from sexton is is kind of recalled. The payments lee on the blockchain barry single movement of a coin is traceable promise in inception and i think you know what we do to provide privacy's we allow people to actually destroy the coins and at any time in the future to regain them for brand new ones with no previous transcendent history. It's almost wiping all the transaction history and getting fresh virgin coins and that's the crux of technology. And we've used this being the all. This technology is kind of homegrown is not a faulk of something else and we do have independent research and we probably can talk a bit more about that later. Yeah yeah that's really really interesting to hear. I think that's one of the things that that is unique. You know i've i've read a lot about even for the employees in internal stakeholders developers. Will you all offer a burning redeem different privacy models at y'all have switched recently and You know one thing that maybe you could talk about. Is i heard that you all kind of bitch. The founders reward and you increase development for funding post having or at least. That's what your plans are. So why did you take this approach. As opposed to other protocols out there that still do keep that founder reward into the protocol. It seems that you all are working hard to support the community. Keep them happy. I think he's a balanced right. I mean on the one hand you know people unfortunately see founder words and stuff like that. It's a formal and reaching and reaching the faltas or the initial investors. And they don't see as like a peel community project by the same time. I mean realistically except for very few handful of of really really projecting even those suffering for funding You expect of like development improvements on almost like a donation basis is also very difficult. I mean you know you take a look at a bitcoin. Right it's funded by you. Know a lot of funds but it d- may be pursuing their own interests. Even someone like lou dash junior. He couldn't get funding. He's been like a call developer for so long and he he's like i need the final edition of what because the on enough. I mean bitcoin is like the biggest cryptocurrency and dean of having problems. Funding green itself has a green another privacy. Coined the ailsa struggling You know they have the handful of programmers and very reliant on on donations that may or may not continue coming along. And that's a really bad way to attract allen who want job stability and things like that right. I mean that's something to be expected of. You wanna try thailand. You have to be able to pay them

"That lets you consume books in fifteen minutes or less. How does it work. Well blinking divides the book into a series of blinks. And i'm enjoying experiment with it immensely. I'm obviously very interested in books about entrepreneurship. Finance and business and blankets has a wide selection of all of those topics. Let me tell you about two books that i listened to unblinking recently. The first is one of the popular bestsellers. Richard branson's virgin way. I've always been intrigued. By richard branson and the book is filled with branson's insights about the world and business. I specially found his thoughts about the culture and ethos of great organizations fascinating. The God Who Suffers: How Far God Will Go for Man's Salvation

"The title of my message is the god who suffers when we think of god. We consider the fact that got us. Writers got his holy got his loving. And god is good. But here's something else to consider about. God as we focus on the death of jesus god has suffered. Why would anyone want to suffer if they didn't have to but he did suffer. I mean he didn't have to. He didn't want to but he chose to suffer. Listen to is as description of what jesus who was god in human form went through when he died on the cross in isaiah fifty three we read. He was despised and rejected by men. A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. He is born our grief and carried our sorrows yet we esteemed him stricken smitten by god and afflicted. He was wounded for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment for our peace was upon him and by his stripes. We are. He'll he was a man of sorrows or suffering. That was jesus. But why did god suffer answer because he loved and he loves and that means it he enters into are suffering as well he enters into the suffering of those who've lost loved ones he enters into the suffering of any person who is in pain of some kind. You need to know that god cares. God understands god suffers. He understands what you are going through. So if you're going through any kind of suffering no this you're not alone. Jesus has been there and he's walked in your shoes. Listen to this passage in hebrews two. It says it was necessary for jesus to be meet in every respect like us. His brothers and sisters so he could be are merciful and faithful high priest before god and then he could opera sacrifice it would take with the sins of the people since he himself is gone through suffering. Mt sion is able to help us when we are being attempted. So you're saying. I'm being tempted right now. I'm going through hardships right now. I've been abandoned by people i love. Jesus has been there. He knows what it's like say. I've lost a loved one. He knows what that's like. So you're not alone and you're suffering but why did jesus have to suffer and die. Couldn't he have just expired. In a simple way to be scourged and beaten up the beard pulled from his face to the up to be insulted and mocked and ridiculed and humiliated. Why did he have to die. Such a cruel death. Listen to this because there was no other way dissatisfy. The righteous demands of god. God plays by his own rules and he said the soul that's in shows shirley die and the scripture teaches without the shedding of blood. There is no forgiveness of sins in the old testament when they would sacrifice by various animals. That was a foreshadowing of things that were to come. It's unlike the death of jesus was sort of added onto that. Dan rather was pointing toward the death. Of jesus jesus was the fulfillment of all of those sacrifices as john. The baptist said of christ. He's the lamb of god. Who takes away. The sin of the world. So jesus was the fulfillment of at all all of those things where foreshadowing something to come or i could more accurately say someone to come and that someone was jesus. Listen to this calvary shows how far men will go and sin and how far god will go for man's salvation limb repeat that cavalry or the cross shows how far men will go in their sin and also how far god will go for men salvation. Jesus knew he was going to die from the very beginning and he spoke of it often. No one took his life. He laid it down of his own accord. Jesus lived in the shadow of the cross. From the moment he entered the world. Sometimes people think across was sort of an aberration or tragic turn of events where everything sort of went off the rails. No that's not it at all if that was the plan. That was the master plan. Or should i say the master's plan i remember when i was a kid and i would watch movies about jesus and i was fascinated by jesus even as a young boy. My grandmother used to have a portrait of christ hanging on her wall. And i would just look at that many times then think about jesus and whenever there was a movie about him i would watch it with great interest and i was fascinated by him but i always thought the story ended battling are that someone should rewrite this story. You see because everything is going in a perfect trajectory here comes jesus born of the virgin mary. performing miracles healing people raising the dead doing wonderful things. The greatest teachings ever heard he has a group of followers and then he gets arrested on charges and he's crucified in. Yeah he rose but still. That's not good. I didn't like that story but that is the story. That is the greatest of all stories. That was the purpose he came for. But how can something so senseless and so cruel have any purpose answer. It was the ultimate purpose and it had the ultimate beanie god. The father was the master of ceremonies at the cross. Let me repeat that again god. The father was a master of ceremonies at the cross. Sometimes people like to place the blame of the death of jesus at the feet of the jews. They'll say the jews killed him sometimes used to justify anti semitism which is always wrong but it was the fault of the jews. It wasn't a fall in particular of the romans. Listen you want to get real technical. Theological god sent. Jesus die on the cross. It was his plan. In fact the scripture tells us and isaiah fifty three ten. It was the will of the lord to crush him. He has put him degree. Romans eight thirty two. God did not spare his own son but he gave him up for us. All and then over in romans three twenty five. God put christ forward by his blood to be received by faith. And i see a fifty three ten yet. It pleases the father. Bruce him he is. Put him to that please. The father to bruce him. How could the father be pleased by. The death of his son. Only wasn't pleased by his death in particular. He wasn't pleased by the suffering. He wasn't pleased by the pain. Christ's went to. The father was pleased by the redemption. That was accomplished. He was pleased that the eternal plan of salvation was now fulfilled. He was pleased that the sacrifice of his son was complete and many of us can now believe in him for all the evil in the crucifixion. It brought about an infinite good.

Because that's what happened. Everything's pause economies ponds. Your life has caused a lot of spas now. I haven't paused a whole lot. And I'm calling my clients and calling my friends every single day and and trying to unplug them. I'm trying to come on. Let's do something. Let's go do whatever you can right. Now it's a crazy time I know but it's we're still here right but it's a great pandemic pause but tell you what for every day we go into it? We get closer to the end of it and as you look a little further you start to see that light way at the end of the tunnel. Maybe you may not be able to see it. But it's out there but most folks I know right now are living a little simpler world. It's simpler than it was even just a couple of weeks back now with few exceptions. If you're a first responder your world is not simple right now as you're on the front lines and it's rough and I love a lot of different folks first responders. You know who you are if you've been affected by this or by your health or somebody else in your family affected. Their health has been affected may be lost them. Life is not slow right now but for the vast majority of folks in America and around the world life has become slower. There seems to be more time in the day. Have you noticed the Russia used to be day-to-day seems kind of distant? Now that happens when we move through these processes as we look back. You have ground yourself. We talk about that a lot around here. Eventually as you settle in the the reality becomes the reality and eventually you to settle into what it is now. I'm always afraid when that happens. I am because I don't necessarily want to go back to what it used to be yet. I don't want to settle in where it is. I want to see if I can make something better at what just happened. Because the great the great pattern break has talked about. Last week has happened now in here. We are floating in this great pandemic pause. Is that such a bad thing to be floating. The storm is going to pass. It will pass always passes and you know that when we reignite our lives things will be what you make them so. Why not consider some lessons from a few very smart people in the past now? I'm a big Fan. If you tune into me over the years you heard me say something. Probably win it. I said way back in. I think I said in two thousand five. Yeah we did PODCASTS. We started podcast actually very early. Two Thousand and five one of the first out there before itunes podcast I was doing. Podcast was out the motivation of movement. And then the motivation to move show and then the David. Bruce came along and one things I've said from the very beginning was I like simple because simple works now at the time. It was just a very simple statement. I didn't think much about. I just knew that he didn't like complexity like simple. So I began to say that I would say lose drama. I like simple simple work but if you look back in time a lot of people have said something similar that Leonardo Da Vinci. You may have heard this before. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. So for those of you who are sitting around these days. Feeling like What am I? I'm just a lazy person hanging around doing nothing. No you're sophisticated. You're keeping life simple. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Learn to keep things simple. This is a great reminder right. Now get this complexity in the sense that you're trying to figure life. Maybe we're going to get paid next. I get that but the buzz is out there simple now. Confucius life is simple but we insist on making it complicated. Oh yeah a lot of for the fun of it. I've caught myself before now. I talked to myself sometimes. I've got the woods. I'll talk 'cause I talk for a living and I'm thinking all time sometimes to be honest with you. I've done this so long now. I can't really tell if I'm talking to you talking to you're talking to that guy. It just kind of weird and so I kind of work stuff out. I notice sometimes even in my head because what. I do often as I try to help. People simplify things and therefore I must get complicated so I understand how they're seeing things and try to simplify so oftentimes I'll find myself living own little world where there's not a lot of stimulus going on and I tend to get things a little bit more complicated because we naturally want to do that. Insist to Papa doing right. So Confucius life is simple. Yeah I really is. It's breathing in breathing out. That's about it. Maybe go in the bathroom and eating some food occasionally. It's about it but we insist upon making a complicated right now much of the complexity in your life has been ripped away it has created a few other things that may be complicated and if we don't settle things and we will settle them but the things go on longer than we'd like it a little bit more complicated but in a very interesting simplified way. We're not running one hundred ninety mile an hour right now. Are we things get different when you slow down a bit? The Art of being wise is the art of knowing what to Overlook William James so just a few weeks ago knowing what overlook was pretty superficial when you think about it. If you're smart you knew it overlooked but most people. They just weren't paying attention so they overlook the wrong suffered not at all now. A lot of people are overlooking the news about the wisest thing to do. You need to watch occasionally but the art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook. So what. Are you going to overlook now? What's out there that you can overlook can replace that. With a feeling of positivity moving forward can you find something to excite you the get you to the point that you get revved up. No matter what's going on. I had been working really hard to that for a couple of weeks. Now just to keep myself. I got myself pretty pumped up right now. You might be able to notice. James Warner aways back said. Simplicity is making the journey of this life. A with just enough baggage. Most people I know have had way too much baggage and look at what's going on in this great pandemic pause. I'm seeing something really really different. Most people aren't missing much of that baggage. They used to carry around all day. Long feels familiar. Maybe I'm going to get back to that but I challenge you and I question you can be maybe during this time you could grab the simply simple life right now and hang onto the best parts. Don't allow that crazy stuff to come back into your world. Is it possible yeah? It's simple and simple forks every time.

"And it felt like she was about two inches right behind. Like YOU GOTTA. Rub My butters on. Sucrose I'm going well. You're not supposed to do that and so I wanted to turn around but I thought well I can't turn East Coast so I step forward two feet and turn around and said man. Would you step back? I didn't know what to do because she then she said to me. I don't have it and I'm like I didn't know what to do. I say well you don't know that manager stepped in and said man. Would you step back? Stay behind that little blue piece tape on the floor. All didn't see it. Wow just kind of walked right into the Internet's been walkie all day. Today just wouldn't work and when you have an online business evidently when everybody else's at home in an online business it's wonky and then guess what mom you got. Kids are driving me crazy. We got a couple of dogs here in the House. A young puppy a Beagle knees. My Great Beagle knees. She's Beagle Great Pyrenees closer name and enclose a little bit freaked out right now because everything's different. The rhythm is off. They can feel it and so just went. I listened to the Virgin Way. Everything I know about leadership Richard Branson Probably a month ago and listened to it. Good thing learned a long time ago. Then somebody shows them in through so much life at this point that. I've learned a couple of things about living nothing fancy about how I learned. It just lived like to kind of go through experiences. I've learned that life is a very beautiful thing. It's also very surprising many many times have you. Have you figured that out yet and nobody really likes to surprise. We all good surprises bad surprises while we don't really like those either at all good times or bad there is always something that's going to catch just a little bit off guard even if you're completely prepared it's going to catch a little off Guard. I think about sometimes things get you off guard. What's the first thing we do? Sometimes we have to have an immediate response way. It's not even a response as much as is a reaction. Maybe a preplanned response things happen. It could be a customer or potential customer coming into Your Business. I want to do business with the. I got a big pile of money when you give you some money. Whoa that requires an instantaneous. Response if not. You're just kind of silly right so you respond and then you move on or maybe it could be something like A. I Dunno a health emergency of some type an economic emergency national security emergency. Something I think that might get an instantaneous. Response out of you. If you went to the grocery store last week and saw the toilet paper disappear I would say the answer is yes people go boom. GotTA DO GOTTA. Take Care Myself Gotta go go. Go go go go go. That happens in any case. A quick response is usually your friend. But what do you do after that? Surprise settles what do you do when you've got through which I think is where we are right now. I think we're seeing things begin to settle. Don't really know what's coming. We know it's going to ramp up we. We don't really know for sure do we? We've done ever been through this before. So we're all sitting back and we're one big community now. Worldwide communities thinking. Let's get through this thing. It's settles so whenever this happens to me in any part of my life. I started doing this years and years ago I realized that after that instantaneous response reaction happens I put the little fire out. We're got the fire extinguisher ally with a little fire out. The next thing that I think is a good thing you might want to do. Maybe even right now is take a pause if you haven't been able to step back a little bit and take a breath if you haven't had the chance to take a thirty thousand foot. Overview remove the emotion out of everything. And just kind of look at it for what it is and and really get perspective on it. A lot of folks haven't done it yet of a lot of folks have gone for this fighter flight and they're still running still just going in there in this flight mode and not careful fight modes coming soon. I don't think we're going to get there though for you. This is what I what you don't want you to pause and take a breath and just relax nothing. Fancy don't do yoga or anything like that but you can if you want to. It's just a time to give yourself a little bit of space to go okay. It's all good him so here so I remember one time. I fell off a mountain bike as racing down a hill up in Virginia and Beaumont right down and I just I had I. I'm surprised I lived and never forget crunched so hard I thought okay this is it and then I realize no. Don't think I'm still here. You can get up and I got up and it didn't feel good but everything's still work. Okay I'm good. Same thing right now. Take a pause now. What do you do after that? What are you GonNa Prepare? Let Scott I should have preferred earlier. Right what you did. I'm sure did but it's a different kind of being prepared. Now whether it's serving your clients or taking care of kids or paying your mortgage or are just bad finger life. The next step is to really look at what success will be for you other. It's what do you want to have happen? How do you want to keep life really normal? You maybe start a new busy. You want to write a book right now. You can do that. He got time right. If you can keep your head focused of what do you want to do? What do you need to be prepared for? Is it toilet paper calculator online? Have you seen that? It's GonNa be a good idea. You know you could go on the online toilet paper calculator and figure out you. Know what I'm one rule short go out the next couple of days and get a relative if they repeat prepared. It could be just about anything. What's GonNa make you feel like kind of in control? That's what we want here because in a time when things feel out of control we want to grasp something anything that makes you go okay. I'm good so bigger scout and be prepared so once you've taken that pause you got perspective. Now you're preparing yourself whatever's going to be odd you define what that is you want to protect it now. This is something I talk about all the time when I asked you. If you've done your homework basically life has gone on it. You've done certain things in certain ways and you have a certain lifestyle and values and roles and a life that you live some of it you like some of it. You wish. You didn't have may say that. Very clearly some of the stuff in your life you really really like and you WANNA keep. That's what I want you to protect some of the stuff that's in your life. You don't want any way it'd be easier if you moved on. I'm guessing that this has been a huge disruption in your life on it scary. I'm also guessing. There is a big massive pattern interrupt. Here that's going to allow you to break free from some of the things you you may have wanted to break free from but didn't have the nerve to do at the time to do it the money to do it whatever. Guess what it got done for you so you WanNa side which you really like about your life and your job and your your kids know keep against you're going to really decide that and you're gonNA decide what you're going to protect what you. WanNa come out on the other side of all this craziness. We have right now. What do you want to come out with and what may be? Are you just GonNa Kinda like let go? I never really mean that. It doesn't make any sense to focus on things that you don't want so we want to just put a little bit of thought into what we're doing and and give yourself a chance to just relax just just a tad and I realize not. Everybody is in this boat but even if you have a great job evening at tons of money in the bank even if everything is settled you're still not sleep as well as you did about two weeks ago but imagine yourself your person who just doesn't have the resources it doesn't have the support scared to death. The first of the month is coming thinking about that. Think about that. It'll be okay. As long as we pause. Prepare protect who want to protect. That's how you survive to thrive and I really truly mean this when you have a massive padded interrupt like this. Sometimes it's the biggest gift you could of ever been given sometimes somebody or something. Kinda read your mind and says you know they really kind of needed ship anyway. See if they're going to take advantage of this. I want you to think about that. And that's going to give you something to focus on. What could you do? What could you create? Who can you be can help? Where can you go when you get to go? Can Change with a lot has changed all right? I have no idea what we're talking about tomorrow. I'm rolling day by day. Keeping an eye and an ear to what's going on with what I hear is going on but I hope to have you back. Sure knew back tomorrow right here on the daily boost..

"So it's it's very possible that he will go back to Johnny's not so if he loses his appeal and keep in mind. There's there's actually two big corruption charges. He's facing the one. Is the car wash corruption program. which you know? Everyone's familiar with its this year's long money laundering scheme that took down a bunch of politicians uh-huh and some big executives Petrobras But he's also facing another one so I if it what's what's what's super fascinating about this case is it could go to very divergent virgin way. I think it's very clear that in the time that Lula's is out of prison. He will have an impact on politics. Because he's going to you know he'll pit himself against President Bolsonaro. His supporters are going to be very vocal. Already have been and if nothing else. So he'll sort of act as a as a spoiler to his opponents but if in fact the supreme court a knows his car wash conviction he would be potentially eligible to run for office and he could run for President in two thousand twenty two but it's also also possible that he'll go back to jail so right now and I don't think either is going to happen very quickly because it's GonNa it's GonNa take some time for the appeals process but right now it is very plausible that he either there is back in jail and a year or two or he's running for president and we really don't know which way it's going to go we'll see where that goes I want to make sure we check in on protests in Hong Kong Protesting getting Chinese treatment of Hong Kong because those protests have been raging since March. They reached a new level of unrest. This week Here's a clip. We have queued up from one. Protester Mr in Hong Kong giving voice to some of the violence. It's been in the street. People are now being have having guns pointed at them by police Protesters being shot and you can watch this video online. The level of these protests and the reaction from authorities in Hong Kong has reached a new level. Listen there.

"It's not illegal angle but it's the same thing they don't know how to regulate it as far as my car has it but it's in a sealed case and you have to get somebody to open the case which doesn't make any sense to me what I'm saying is that's the real money maker because that's the difference because marijuana's always going to be looked at a drug. Just like alcohol is going to be on nothing fifty years. It's going to be the same as alcohol yeah but but here's the thing water guests purchase a lot more than Heineken water to. That's what I'm saying so. CBD can be the Non Alcoholic Alcoholic version of alcohol. CD can be the water but I I don't Wanna see Johnson and Johnson Gobble it up because I think a lot of people have been doing good work in the space but there is a situation and also worried is unregulated and a lot of it frankly out there is both like when you go to the Greg's coffee New York they're like. Do you WanNa see shod in your chair. You know damn ain't gonNA FUCK AC- There are certain coffee road sounds like it's one of the world's Great Charlotte's web is definitely one. I'm just saying that there's construction. It's GONNA unfortunately get gobbled up it but I think it's the same thing I mean. I think you'll see big. Tobacco gradually ease out tobacco replaced with marijuana. I was when I did the thing when I moderated a panel Friday ready at the congressional black caucus thinking about cannabis license abuses reparations and you know you'll see so many of these digital decades the first thing they say when you pull something like that is Joe. All black people don't smoke and this racist Shit and Yada Yada Yada as if there's not a million other ways to use marijuana you got cbd you you got him. You know what I'm saying you can make clothes out of hemp and rope. Oh type surge it's all type of different uses of the marijuana plant. THC He does one thing that's one thing the other thing. I guess so many different ways to use the motherfucking marijuana introduced to America. I mean you know George Washington grew hemp you you know it was a staple crop for a long time. It wasn't really till black people start smoking that it became a problem yeah to be honest with you that treat his pussy now in order for like you gotTa have job loved watching shop down the marijuana tree g cherry tree. It's so crazy when you think charity pussies I do off and a cherry route leather. You referenced a cherry his actual Cherry. I'd I'd do really yeah. That's usually what I think about. Rousseau is like let's go eat some cherries. I don't think it's Somebody's going from Cherries. Raise me and my boy sharing a bag of cherries really. If your buddy was like dude I had some like I had some cherries last night. You thank you just eating hymens now not insane unless they ended like that but you always say in reference to something right Donald Say Cherry Yeah in a Eh Fire Papa Cherry. It's the first time doing something maybe happened yeah yeah. I don't think I've ever pop it. Sherry took a girl I have but I think they're cherry got popped through like gymnastics or a question. Oh you never broke that time. I don't think I broke that hyman. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah I get it. No you could bust your hyman doing gymnastics question. I've definitely broken a couple of Hamas in my day really very overrated experience. I bet never one is not everywhere right. Well two reasons one virgin number one. I know I'm not gonNA would you for the rest of my life. So why would I do that to you and number two is just like I. I need experience especially when you're young like hey give me a whore bro Yeah. I'm which I WANNA. I WanNa woman has done it a few times. you know what I'm saying like. I know we're not taking a woman that was already having sex with her to somebody got to know what they're doing. Somebody got uh-huh Ginny over raid man. Let Dido let the Muslims for you when they go bomb something and they get ten virgins way on on on it up to give you three horse over seventy two virgins three horse for the afterlife. What would you rather Quadri Horse Seventy two virgins? Three horse depends on having three-horse three horse yeah three of them. If I'm in Hell. I'm taking a seventy two virgins lie. I want more accompanied. Nobody down there so we have this ship popping this idea. We're going to get a rude awakening in Heaven Golden State Warriors Numbers Baby. You know thinking you know poppy. Tell her list so go through everything this Tibo draws national security not touching it no emmy for beyond say not touching it. He is and I don't even think he knows that he's being addicted. I just think that he's a privileged person who doesn't understand the circumstances. There's some people come from because he may have been playing football for the love motherfuckers planning for money that they try to change their circumstances and by the way if you wanted to be so much for the love we'll tell the colleges just to stop charging admission for Games until the colleges to stop charging for merchandise and colleges to stop charging people for Concessions Telecom. Stop doing licensing deals with video games like it's saver. TV revenue is a billion dollar business. I'm not gonna how can you how can you justify making billions of dollars in something and telling this person do it for the love yeah I mean it was an idiot Gimme. A majority says what's wrong with that yeah. If you're gonNA use me in a video game use my video game like who gives a fuck imagine winston I wanted to duke made school all fucking walk money got hurt and never went to the NBA now you just sitting in South Carolina getting fat because you know he would get fat with an injury okay so you just sit in South Carolina getting fat. You don't have nothing to show for it except for a fucking Jersey that don't even got your name on back. I love and let them college. motherfuckers get paid man. "Today's meeting a total waste of time. Former Trump communications director Anthony Scaramucci was on with man, Colin WLS this morning Scaramucci says he thinks President Trump will eventually have to accept less money for border security. I think the president, unfortunately, he's gonna have to take something smaller than what he wanted on that wall. They had one point three billion in there. He wanted it. And then he talked to some of the people in his base. And then he decided that he didn't want it. And so we're three weeks, and it was shut down. But I think he's going to have to go back to that. Unfortunately in the racist for mayor and alderman Bill Cameron says today's law enforcement appreciation day was commemorated into virgin ways. Whole villas thanked is to police officers sons for their service. Former police superintendent Gary McCarthy paid tribute to his police officer father, a large group of liberal candidates for alderman, including seventh ward candidate Jedidiah Brown voiced support for the civilian police accountability council ordinance when the residents have a greater stake in how their city is police in how officers held accountable we will have a city where people will respond more to the police. They have better relationships with the police, and we'll solve more crimes, but CPAC probably isn't going anywhere because it would take control of the police department from the mayor and give it to the communities at city hall Bill Cameron WLS age. "Y'all a straight up hypocrites like, no, there are people. Actually, those kinda moral lives at actually follow detector I think is a very small percentage of people that can do that. But there are people that are like that and I have ran into clusters of them and they mostly stick around just themselves because people Karuk obviously and not just that, but look at him weird. Like, I don't think anything is weird about it except that I couldn't imagine doing it. I couldn't imagine doing it in, but it's not something I thought about. I could. I could imagine that. I mean, I, I'm someone who grew up where I remember getting a ride home from church once and like, you know, when you turn the car on the radio sometimes automatically comes on. And I think that like a hip hop song or something came on in like leat to turn it off. I'm gonna go home and tell what she's been. Listening to. So yeah, with having said, I kind of see being that type of super Christian. I wasn't quite like that. And like I. A vast amount of fear and love for my God, but are fully acknowledged at how much of a center I am and like that's not how they operate. They operate fully assuming they're not like the centers and I'm like, that's kinda faira sees and you know how Jesus felt about, but you know, it is whatever it is. You know, you can do you and be good with that. But those people do exist at us. I will say that herbs of Kavanagh say he was he was virgin way past high school. Yeah. That will no wonder. He kept his calendar from nineteen eighty two. That only someone like that would manage to do it because I'm sure you probably saw that as far as the dates that were claimed that he had. Salted someone he had has a calendar from nineteen eighty two where he has evidence when he was somewhere else. Well, you know, I try not to like whatever's going to happen. It's going to be interesting, so it's not really much that we can say about it and sell. Mood argument to have like might save the guys calendar, but I can't say this thirty five years ago. I can't say this to Rian race something that we we always talk about here on the show. Yes. And wanted to things that we always talk about here on the show is, do you really believe that they are not good people in these democratic cities are trying to do the right thing that want to change what has happened in their city and they are meeting every time they try. They meet this democrat political machine. What you are seeing at the federal level has been implemented and perfect it at the local level. So when good people step up and try to do the right thing and actually try to take on these democratic power structures in this city, this is what happens to them. This is why you hear so many. The black people complaining about a real ability to have any effect of their over their government because if they do not have black faces that are specifically chosen by those in political power at the front of what they're trying to do, they are destroyed. It came. Same thing happens as far as their local economies go in DC over the weekend. Reported just posted a picture of people who had passed out from the synthetic marijuana k to all over the place. And I was explaining about how this is what you voted for and vote for something like that. And I said, well, you know, these people are not working and things like that, and maybe the people who would have actually hired them would have they would have a chance to get into business, but they can't because the only people who can do anything in DC. Connect it very well connect. Stories to move at theater shoes me from one part of town to another. It's the mayor and two councilmembers. Most people don't have connections like there. With. To do something. And so we wonder why one can do anything or get anywhere businesswise. But you look at who owns all of the sore France, etcetera. It takes strong connections to be able to to, you know. And one and a few things about Donald Trump that I really really, really, really, really, really respect it when he was running for office as that he was honest about it..
