"Liverpool managed the two one win over Leicester without netting a goal. The red scoring came off the feet of Leicester defenseman Wout foss, about 6 and a half minutes apart late in the first half. Foss is the fourth player in Premier League history to score a pair of own goals in the same game. "The back line because that ball is one higher up the field. Not all the times, but a lot of the times. But if Shaq said that intensity is not there for the 90 minutes anymore, and that's putting more pressure on the midfield and more pressure on the bike lane. Yeah, and it's top four. There is something about his cleverness that is just being lost at the moment. And I think that a lot of this insecurity you see at the back now is that your minister of defense Virgil van DIJK is out of it and I think that in fact the other players at the back though, which are young lads who Robertson or Arnold, what Sam is a Van Dyke Louis I think he's a couple of things now and you can see goals, of course you're going to look at the back and you see that they are a man of judgment right there when he's mad when he was your Gomez. You would point to the Joey Gomez now is not there and then we have to find bandai because Marty did a good job but also he's not Robertson then so when you start seeing that this is not the team at in defense as the level that we are expecting we try to find or blame the one they are not in the best form. But it's a group of things. It's our team from when the guys are talking about the intensity when you don't have that intensity in the middle of the park. The players who are facing to you, they have time to put the ball in the best position in the best moments in the best runs. And then you put in danger, the center, the center back. So in that kind of moments I think the Van Dyck is struggling because the partnership that he's got next to him is not adapting well. The players on the right areas, they are not happy well. When one goes forward, the other one stays, they got in between the me feeling and the defense is so high. So all those small details are things that they're going to have to work together, but Van Dyck pointed to Van Dyck. "Dyck, but off the back of this, it would seem, not just this game alone, but off the back of the list trashing in Naples, clearly there was a lot of criticism for Alexander Arnold in the back four. Including Virgil van DIJK and as you said, he started carrying on not one again. Carbon. About X players and how they've forgotten and blah blah blah. And it seems to me, here's a guy that has had enough praise to get him to the moon and back and rightly saw because for the most part he's been brilliant, but yet there's period when he himself has not been great, and he hasn't marshaled the back four very well, but it's not always been his fault, seems to be smarting a little bit from the criticism. And I thought that was quite an interesting interview, not that there was a lot of what spoken, but it was just his reaction. I mean, there's clearly a BT didn't even ask him about the criticism. There was no question about it. He just brought it up. So clearly it's in his mind that he also said, well, you know, we don't listen to what they say. Take notice of what they say. Outside these, well, clearly, it does. And it was just interesting to me that there's a guy who has basically had all the platitudes in the world and leather pull off a rocky road of which he's been part of and clearly he's been smarting a little bit from that criticism. There's no doubt about that. Does that help or hinder going forward, Stevie? And. The problem, when you're playing, you don't understand what goes on in the media. Basically and shows like codes. You don't understand that. And if anybody, whether it's in the newspaper or on a TV or in an criticizes you, you don't like it. Because you're prickly. It's not easy to coordinate a day. You know what cake said is right about he said all the plaudits, but it's difficult and they call it a day when you have planned to go, well, if I had a lot of plaudits, so I should be able to take the criticism. That's just not how you're wired. If somebody criticize you, you want to get them back and you want to show them every single time. So I guess in some ways, that may help build your van date because clearly it got up his nose. And you know what? If that makes him go back to being the Virgil Van Dyck that we praised, then that's fine by me. But at the end of the day, if you don't play well, you just got to make sure you play it well because people like cars are going to talk about you. Whether it's good or whether it's bad. And the other side of that coin, Stevie. Disjointed, that she had particular. I know robots are. I'll tell you what, I would love to, I would love to have had club in the dressing room because the things we are seeing, I think, compared to what clock should have been sent in with a dressing room. I know the right injuries, but just that looks to me for a long period now. It's been my tip and Van Dyck as the preferred 100% I would a 100% everything that'd be an equal being. But that's a problem. I mean, how many times does mati played two or three games in a trot over the last two or three seasons? I bet you there's not many. And so that is a problem. I agree a 100% in Van Dyck as the best partnership that they have, but my teeth can't play. Not regularly two or three games in the trough. You just can't do it physically. If you don't want the guy to leave because you know you're planning to sack two hole, then he doesn't leave. Simple as. Nobody's forcing you to sell him to Brighton, which is why so many beds of this narrative about two Osaka and when they find it and whatever. To me, just are complete porkers and just don't add up. "Play regular because he had a broken leg or a broken ankle by the injury. Had looked good up to that point, still on the youngster. It's Van Dyck money, isn't it? I mean, transfer fees have gone crazy. We talked about that in the show, but Virgil van der had already played in Holland, he played it Southampton. He played at Celtic and had come through, not old. Before Samson, but had built a bit of a career and then Liverpool and then snapped him up for, I think, 75 million of their boats, this is not a kick in the backside of it for a youngster who is a very talented young player, there's no doubt, but he's been out for a long period. I think played only 7 games last year. But that's the market we're in, so big opportunity for him, but no guarantee it's going to work. He's still quite raw, is that fair to say, natum? Perhaps, perhaps, but he's still a very good player and I think I can see why Chelsea will be interested in him. Obviously the sea itself raises some more questions. But as I say, I think he's I think he's a very good player. And I think ultimately for Chelsea, they're going to be betting on his ceiling. And he still is very high. You know, this can be a potential future international, you know, somebody that could help Chelsea win the league and the like and even if he doesn't necessarily hit the ground running and stop playing the ton of games this season. They're not signing for 9 months or ten months or whatever it is. You sign it for multiple years and the belief is it will get better year in year out in the infrastructure that they have. So I think I understand it and it seemed like one of those areas which it needed to sort of shore up four Chelsea was at the back and you've got Thiago Silva for as good as he is. It's not getting any younger, so now you've got somebody who maybe you could take under his wing and who knows maybe impact he can have can be a significant Thiago Silva's in the future. How highly do you rate him Ian? Well, I think he's very gifted. He's quick across the ground. He's alert for a defender. He's very well regarded in the game as Craig said he had that very bad injury which kept him out for a long time, but yeah, Charleston need to sign top quality defenders because they've lost rudiger and they've lost Christian and Thiago Silva is not getting any older, but this is kind of part of a scatter gun approach I think by Chelsea. I think they might be even busier in the next few days as well. They seem close to signing Obama Yang and they seem pretty close to signing Anthony Gordon from Everton as well. "What's really up to him, you know, you have to challenge yourself. You have to realize that it's not enough. And you have to make sure that even if you have a talent, even if you gifted, you need this and the heart. You know? And unless you don't realize that your head and your heart will do the difference, especially when you work and you play for Liverpool, which is, again, what I said before, part of the genes of the club when you have to give everything like you're about to die, you know? And it's what we love about that last decade of Liverpool. Do you have to give 100%? You have to make sure that you did give 100% and then you will get back to the close to the best that you've been and for Van Dyck that would be what you have to because you are defender. You have to react. You have to lead. You have to show the example to new players, as well, and is the leader, easily of the defense. So he has to deal with that and make sure that he comes back to basics in fact, you know? And the basics of the defender is to give everything to help the team to win. What's wrong here? For this Liverpool performance. First of all, the first thing that struck me is how poor they were against Manchester United. And I can't believe that Liverpool's somehow lacked motivation going in going into a game against Manchester United. Though the dominated possession, they really lack pace and any real cutting edge. To your question about sadio money and his emission, more times than not, when Liverpool were the best, he would come in off that left hand side, which is where Louis Diaz is. And for me, simply hasn't been anything like the player, we've known for the last couple of seasons. That is a big issue for Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp. A lot of the other departments, I don't think that different Liverpool have never gotten a lot of goals from midfield. It's always been about that front three, but they've always been fairly secure at the back, Virgil van DIJK has never been the type of defender that's thrown himself into challenges or blocks. His strength is reading and anticipating and getting there. And maybe because of the injury he's just at half a yard short, but I just know that he's a little more

"Yeah. Transfer dealings. Is what it lands on JJ. So we got a few here. Some have been confirmed. Some have not. We got a few here. I'll just roll through a couple of them. We'll start with Liverpool, Darwin Nunez. Goes to Liverpool and initial fee of €75 million, it's been agreed to with 25 million in potential add ons. I saw Duncan castles refer to those as quote easy add on. So I would say expect this to rise to a hundred. Okay. That is if I'm going to take him at his word. Well, Duncan castles who often delivers the Manchester United side of things. He calls it easy. I don't know. Okay, Duncan. We don't know what they are. All right. Well, I'm going to, I'm believing him. That's all right. Go with all dunk. This is amazing to me just because we talk about keeping a squad fresh. Like this is how you do it. Like this was a team when I looked at Liverpool a year ago, I did not look at their front line and say that there's a week, there's an obvious weakness there that they need to freshen up. And here we are a year later, and they've added Lewis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, two of the biggest names that they could have added. Like this is how you make sure that things don't go stale. This is just a fascinating transfer for me. And I'm not sure what whether like it's not whether I need to be convinced or not, but so what strikes me is it's outside of the Liverpool model the amount of money that's being paid. Liverpool generally don't pay that. Well, they've done it when they felt like they needed to. They spent a lot on Allison. They spent a lot on Virgil van DIJK and how did they, but how do they pay for that? They paid literally cash the check from Coutinho and then went and spent that will happen again because Sadio Mané is going to leave. So they can make sure they know that. But I'm saying, when they feel like they have a position where they need to spend big on, they do it, and they've always done so wisely. They've been a huge move been behind their trophies. It's just been four or 5 years since they've done. It is a little bit out of the pale for them to do it. It seems as if a very soon reaction to what Manchester City did down the road with Erling Haaland. And just the type of player he is. Now, I have not seen enough nar has most Liverpool supporters to be honest, which of Darwin noon is the part when he played against us and did quite well. To know exactly what we're getting here. Like we can watch as many YouTube videos as you want, but he is a departure from the striker or the forward attacking player that we've been buying regularly. So even in size, I mean, he's 6. He doesn't look like any of the guys. He's 6 foot two. Automatically you're thinking, is he going to play more centrally? But then some of the tape I've watched of him can actually come in from either side and be very, very effective. He's more mobile than I thought. I'm fascinated by this transfer. I really am. Liverpool never really been aggressive in getting this player a player was on the radar of Manchester United and other top European clubs. I mean, once I guess Liverpool entered the fray, there's not hope he's going to a team who aren't in the Champions League. That's not going to happen. But there was a general perception that this is the next big striker. In European football. I don't know yet. I really don't. Now, I think what you said about a response to the Howland signing is interesting. Yeah. Liverpool are not usually reactionary. I feel like they are comfortable marching to the beat of their own drum. And I'm not saying this won't be the beat of their own Trump. Down the street. That is almost impossible to keep up with, but Liverpool have done all. Have done amazingly well, so far to do it. And I wonder if there's maybe a slight acceptance in FSG that we are going to have to really push the boat out.
