"Hey, it's Vinnie Penn coming at you with another party, animal installment on animal radio. Well, we did it for those of you who listened to these segments of mine here, told you a ways back that my 5 year old daughter Stella. She's ready for a pet. She was right, we looked at a lot of different pets. I wanted to start her off with the fish. I was a matter of fact. She actually had already she's had a turtle and a frog. But they've since moved on, and it was time to get her another. I wanted to start her with a fish. I think that's the good starting point for any four, 5, 6 year old. We went to the pet store and we picked out just the most beautiful pink fish, Stella picked her out herself, picked out a great one. We got the nice little aquarium and she dressed it up and decorated it really nicely. We went down to the beach earlier that morning, she picked out a beautiful rock to put in the tank. We were all set up. She looks at the fish. And it's called a beta fish. If I'm pronouncing that correctly, BE, TTA. So it's not essentially a goldfish. I don't know. This was kind of a new terrain for me, even though I had goldfish when I was a kid. I think they were goldfish. I had two, cheech and Chong. But this is called a better fish, beta fish. Nonetheless, Stella looks at her and says I want to call her Magnolia. And it was really a moving moment. I looked at my daughter and I thought that name is fantastic. We can call her Maggie for short, and she smiled, she thought that was a great idea. We got in the car with the little carrying case. For the fish and Stella stared out of the whole way home I was saying, I love you Magnolia. I love you Magnolia. We got home. Transferred her into her new home, dressed it up and Stella was look iron said she's so beautiful. Daddy thank you so much for buying me dandelion. And I said, dandelion. What happened to Magnolia? She said no, I changed her name. I want to call her dandelion. And I said, oh, all right. You know, the dandy for sure. That kinda works. Go with that. Dandelion it is. Not too long afterwards. One of my acts comes over. First thing Stella wants to do is take her to see the fish she says, you gotta come with me. You gotta come and see my fish. She runs over to see the fish, and I hear my aunt, who's 91 years old, say, hey, that looks just like Nemo. Magnolia, who had become dandelion, had now become Nemo. So I have to sit still down and say, still, look, we can't keep changing the name. It would be like all of a sudden today, if I just started calling you Sarah, to which stellar applies, I like that name Sara, I go to school with the Sarah. I want to name the fish Sarah. This point, I'm a little bit out of my mind. I'm confused. I don't know which way is up. I don't know if is it a girl. I always heard girls were fickle, but this was bringing it to new heights. Suffice it to say that this morning, as I'm leaving to come and cut these segments, I say to Stella, I'm going to go and talk about Sarah the fish today. And she said, what kind of fish is it anyway? I heard you telling someone that it wasn't really a goldfish. I said, well, daddy's learning as it goes. Same as you. I think it's called a beta fish or a bed of fish and.

I'm still hung up on a lot of that stuff on those were such go to Christmas gifts that I find kids these days to be really challenging. Everything's in Amazon card. Nothing says I love you from your father More than a gift card. You know, Uh, there was a time when picking knowing you know somebody an artist. Uh, that your care when you're dating. It's like, Wow, you're paying attention. I love this musician. You know, just you revealing to me right there, Luke Bryan, that you like that one, so young when people hang on to a little facts like that can't even do it anymore. With With your kids. Well, I did a little bit. I got my my daughter a framed autographed picture of Ariana Grande Day for the holiday. That's nice. Yeah, and I already gave it to her. Yeah, Bad news. In that way. There's always one present that I wind up giving about two weeks before Christmas this year in pretty this year. That was one of her bigger ones. But I just look at these kids and they They were just prisoners this year. You know, I just feel for them. They've been very upbeat about it. A lot of their friends have been very dramatic. And rightly so, Uh, we're seeing people gather for al, You know, Rallies riot in the streets were seeing Mass gatherings where we choose to see them yet. You could We flooded, uh spy schools to vote. And yet they can't flood their own high schools to attend school. My kids are still learning virtually so I just looked over at her one day and it was bit of a rainy day was a couple days ago here in Connecticut, and she was just zoning on Tic Tac and I said, You want open one of your Christmas presents, and usually it's one of the throw away once, but I gave her this Bigger one because these kids have had a tough here. This is no senior year in high school for my daughter, and it's no freshman year in high school for my son. It's classroom. In their bedroom. And they'll never forget it. Rudolph, That is my favorite Christmas song. Yeah, It's a great one by any particular artist. I mean, it's been covered quite a few times Classic like Chuck Berry, You got the classic. I mean, I personally really like Luke Bryan's cover of it. He doesn't really nice rock country version of its very, very energetic I just like that rock cover of a bright Adams is pretty good, too, But I really like that. Luke Bryan cover. Yeah. Bryan Adams had a great one to that. That's a good call right there on that. Wasn't there A Ah Boston band on this the right place that asked the question. Is it done on the WR KR the legendary W R K o course number here. 617 to 66 68 68. I remember back in the day doing top 40 radio in Connecticut and get it late nineties, I think is when its surface the Boston band that did the Grinch You're a mean one. Mr Grinch was great version. It was kind of a rock and roll version of that song. Do you not know who it was? It was a Boston band. I don't know that. There were any bigger than that. I'm gonna dig that one up. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, it doesn't come to me immediately off to look into it. Yeah, Yeah, definitely. My particular favorite would be Either. Christmas is the time to say I love you. Bye, Billy Squire. I don't know if you know that one. I don't know that I've heard it. Probably. Yeah, I'm a sucker for Bob Seger's little drummer boy. Lot of versions. Joan Jett's got a great version of that Do and I happen to like Ariana Grande Days. Original Biddy Santa. Tell me, I do. The Lightning is pretty good. It's not bad. Do? I don't know. She's got Santa playing Cupid in it. You know, it's it's all about her her, you know, seeing to it that Saint Nick makes this boy stick around for at least a year before she gives him everything. It's not the most. Uh, it's not the sweetest because I don't think by giving of everything. Ariana Grande a singing of love, and Holliday said to tell me Is that the one? Yes, Santa. Tell me. I know that one. Yeah, I love it. I think I think it's very catchy, You know, And you need that music because even if you're kicking and screaming to get into that zone we just had From bright Bart. John Carney on He's the editor. Bribe Our finance, and I'm looking at his article about partisan euphoria by the Democrats and how it has Driven consumer sentiment higher on, uh And and I didn't expect that to be the case. I want to get into this story. Ah, little bit. But we do have Ah, call coming in again. The number here 617 to 66. 68 68. Let's grab real quick. I think we're gonna find out Maybe Ha! And now I'm knowing who it is. Brian, are you there? Yes, But how are you? I'm doing well Are you about to call and say the whirling dervishes? No, no. So, Vinnie, I'm 50 years old. It let you know how old I am. And I'm 53 53. I'm older than you. Okay. So with that said, then as a kid and TV was a big pot of our generation, and I always had rock and roll stars doing Christmas song. So with that said, I don't know if you remember the song by Billy Squire. Christmases attack to say I love you Really? Just where you use your favorite one. That's my favorite one. Just you're not paying attention. Good, sir. Yeah, that was my favorite one. And if you'll recall, he sang it live in the studio with Martha Quinn dancing around. Yeah. Right? I.

"With you here this afternoon on W r K o r number is 617 to 66 68 68 on Twitter. It's at Vinnie Penn. If we've got some time, I'd love to grab a call right now. Especially when it's someone named Sergeant Rock from New Hampshire. I appreciate you calling in what's on your mind. I just have one short and sweet problem. Um, when you were talking about stimulus checks and such my wife and I both work full time jobs. You have some part time work also, we We believe in the theory. You want to get funny, you work. And last fall when Cove it started where my wife worked. She worked for University of New Hampshire. They offered jobs to those who wanted to work and those who want to because it was the end of the school year didn't have to call. The thing was because They could go on unemployment. And they got the sixth was a week. No more. That my wife was Which is, you know, I don't want to take away some people. But then it left no incentive for them to want to work when my wife makes one, and they were making 401 100 Bonus. They were making more than my wife would On Ben. Plus our apartment jobs Exactly did so we were making less by working then it then if my wife had claimed unemployment, these people who turn down work Should not get any stimulus benefit or anything of that. Such yeah, that that that's a great point. You went to a different place. You went to a different place than I expected you to? Unfortunately, the paperwork that would be, uh, that would necessitate figuring out who's doing that. Who's working the system and who's the The American worker can't the government the federal employees can't be bothered with that? I happen to know quite a few people who did the exact same thing you're talking about there, Sergeant Rock, and it's like I was hearing from B roll like I'm actually making Maura money than I ordinarily do. And it's like, Well yeah, because you're collecting unemployment while working. Its rigging the system. Ha For a lot of people. I hate to say it. It's the American way and fixing that we've got about a good good a chance of fixing that as we do our problem at the border. It's Vinnie Penn again with you this Tuesday afternoon, December 15 ability, RKO. Let's see now. W RKO traffic from the my pillow dot com. Traffic center Left Lane is blocked for some work in Braintree on the lower end of 93 north at the Braintree split, so it's backed up there, and there's a crash down in Plymouth on Route three North bound before clock road, so slow getting by on the expressway South slow through South Bay. And the North bound side is not bad. The pike is OK. For now we have no big delays in.

"At me at Vinnie Penn. I appreciate some of the follows. I've been getting last hours, so we still got a couple of very special guests. Coming your way talking right now, though, who've already some anyway have moved on to talk in my off. You watch next time when Trump runs next time as if it's Given, uh Trump hasn't said anything. As far as that's concerned. He's too busy fighting the fight of the electoral college today. I myself don't see it happening. I don't see him. Running again and for us the position I put the question out there to you. And if you have responded where it's 617 to 66 68 68 Let's start with Fred. I appreciate you calling in and being on. Hold these last couple of minutes. What do you think? Uh, yeah, about that tactic. I'm with you. I thought, uh, you know what he'll try to do is work to to look for a successor. I think Mrs Valley Moving in very interesting candidate myself. But it's time to start working now, uh, that's interesting. So you think he's gonna beat that? I like that. That's interesting. You think he's going to be in the mix, but not as a candidate as somebody backing a candidate? I think that's about right. Very good. Yeah, I think if you look at the reaction to his presence at the Army Navy game on Saturday, can't you see him coming out? Assuming the pandemics over coming out on the stage Tol introduce naked Yeah, presents, So he's gonna go crazy. That's good stuff. And you said you had a second point You wanted to make, sir. Well, second point was to respond to your very first caller who who lent week pandemic or clan Democrats. He called it hay makes him pretty racist comments and correct them. I thought Samantha Jewish racism is what? I don't understand where he wound up. Yeah, we've gotten a couple of calls on that He started strong. He started in the place that I agreed with, but ended kind of in a terrifying place. Yeah, I was kind of terrifying. Glad you feel that way, but I think it's always worth it. Look, if he had said, you know, we the Chinese couldn't have planned this because they're they're not bright enough to do it is a race. Statuette saturate. You understand? I think completely what I'm saying your affair by and by the way, been a pleasure meeting you over the last six weeks as you've come on in Boston. I was nowhere. If you yourself you've done a great job. I appreciate that. Yeah, And it's so it's always difficult. It's always difficult when you're talking with someone. And you're like, right? Yeah, And that's true, too. And then all of a sudden they insert something that you do a double take. On. We had ended the call there. There's there's no place for anti Semitism. You know, on initial or homophobia, any of that stuff we have just such Uh, they said I was going to say such bigger issues. But you know what? These air longstanding these are things that have not gone away. These are things that we have not attended to as a nation. Because the cancel culture has moved on to canceling the oddest of things. Anti Semitism is alive and well, and yet, you know, the Cleveland Indians that's really been bothering me for the longest time. We've lost our ability to prioritize, but I do want to grab a friend. I appreciate the call, and I'm glad you brought that up because a few other people Brought up that call a while back and And I just didn't know what to make of the tail end of it. Let's go to Paula in Cambridge, though. I appreciate you calling in what's on your mind. So, um, like you. I don't think Trump will run for the next election. But I do hope he sticks around is against slide. And I hope it's constantly Hammering. Um, you know, Biden on whatever is up, I just do. I hope he doesn't go away like Obama hasn't gone away like Bush is still up to, you Know, push was giving his opinion. We never You there, Paula. I don't know if we lost you, but gadflies a great word to use there, and it makes me come to the realization all I didn't even think of this. Trump's Twitter feed. Is going to be more entertaining than it's ever been, Uh, in the course of the next year, if not a couple of years. I don't think he's going to see the most interesting thing is if Trump Lost legitimate. Resoundingly. I do think you know, I did one interview with him The give me an insight to the man. No, it was like 2004. And do I know somebody who's worked closely with the family? Yes, and told me stories about the family million years ago. 2012 13 Sure. It doesn't give you any real inside either, but I do think if he lost In a big, noisy, ugly way he would have disappeared. But he Is Losing this election in a way where he gets to hang around and say Everybody knows how you all know I do and that this flagrant disregard for democracy for truth. The this whole Dominion fiasco enables Trump to hang around and repeatedly say all come on, everybody knows he didn't. We got the most votes in present in history, and he got more, You know better, And that's what he's going to do for the next couple of years. Paul, do we have you back? Yes. I'm sorry. That must have been my cell phone. I just hope that Trump I hope he's not surrounded with on lawsuits, particularly in the state of New York. I'm just afraid. The court's going to go after him with the poem that, you know, I'm gonna be a miserable way to live. But if anybody can take it, he can't hear what stood impeachment. He was good. The Moloch report. I mean, he's got the strength God when you read off when you read off the roster, and that's why I could only end in a panda. And that you could only come to the conclusion they tried everything. And then, when the likelihood of four more years was just Evident. Well, a pandemic will do it. And that's why I think there were some here in America who are even in cohorts. With China over this will work. This whole do it. People will be out of work will be desperate. Those who are on the fence, it will be the final straw. How can you not look at it that way? Yeah. But I appreciate the call. I love your your history talks. I love them Keep. I appreciate that. Thanks so much Paul for the call. Do we still have gigs, though from Weymouth waiting for us gigs is called in several times. When I filled in here on w RKO and again My name is Vinnie Penn. Waiting on you at 617 to 66 68 68 gigs. "Your favorite stations. Oh, Free U R K E O Yeah. All right. All right. Way air back on a Friday edition of what I call the Vinnie Penn Project Right here on W rko. I've brought it over from Connecticut for this week. On 6 80 am the voice of Boston where it's 617 to 66 68 68 Wanna go toe Massu in though right now and welcome Jim to the show. What's on your mind, sir? Right then how are you? Good. How are you, sir? Good good. I just wanted to make a climate. I think part of the issue is that people probably don't value the religious life. And that's why it's kind of a problem. I think he's blue state governors. What they're doing is yeah. What they're doing. Is this saying what? We don't value it, so we're going to shut down the churches. Yeah. Let me ask you this gym. You think the mosques you think you think the mosques or shut down I don't know. I don't know enough about the Muslim faith. I kind of doubt it, but I don't think they are. But it's not. You know that there was some conservatives that go with viruses shape. Well, they don't want people. Worship God, you know they're against the conservative agenda. They don't want people going to church. I think that's kind of an overreach. I really do, but they don't value it. So it's so it's easy to shut the church's down. But what happened to that time honored separation of church and state? Wealthy. They're holding it back. I mean, they're like holding it back. And they're annoyed and there because they feel they're in a crisis and they have the right to do this, and I mean it's really and you know, what they've done is like you've got doesn't little Meetings like, say, a A meetings where a lot of people stay sober, you know, by attending these meetings and what they did is they said, Oh, no, no, You can't have me It is. You can have meetings online. Well, a lot of people that attend a over the age of 50 or 60, and then I used to doing that kind of stuff online. And you know, But let's keep the liquor stores open. I mean, what's the deal with that? Oh, yeah, That's my exact point. Yeah. Now, are you a church going, man? Answer. Yes. Yeah. What have you been doing? However have you been just watching on television? How have you been? Because I have to tell you there. In a few things that I've Cautiously approached in the virtual capacity, like okay, this is one of my favorite bands. They're doing the concert. Let me see if it's fun to actually watch this in my living room on. I did have a neighbor older gentleman who I used to visit the last house. I lived at who You know, he he couldn't get ready wasn't really ambulatory, so he watched church very loud. TV was on very loud every Sunday and that worked for him because he couldn't get there. But most practicing Catholics, I would say TV is that virtual?.

"Vinnie Pan back with you here on a fast moving Friday edition of what I call the Vinnie Penn Project been filling in all week here on W RKO and having a lot of fun doing it a lot of special guests. Lined up all week. But this show in particular were 617 to 66 68 68 want to grab a quick phone call, though, and welcome pat from Kingston to the show. Hey, do we have you? Yeah, I'm here. Can you hear me? I sure can. How are you, buddy? I'm good. I was just listening in and on the lady calling about the free lunches and You know, it's good that she sees the people in your neighborhood tribes, nice cars and everything like that. And that's what you see from the outside. I drive a nice truck. My wife rides nice, as should be. I've lost my job. My taxes are $12,000 a year, Um, for buying property taxes. My kids can go to school. They're both type one diabetic. S so we have to take those go oranges or we decided to take him and I don't want to say we have to. But you know my wife's cause on me so I can't just get rid of that. You know? It's just a lot more going on than what might meet this complicated. Yeah. No. I mean, I hear you. I absolutely area And as I said throughout the interview, if we fit a criteria and the need is there absolutely I just want the criteria to be fair. I think with Julie Gun lock was second, though she didn't just want to go that that Deepak But it sounded like she saw quite a few women that she knows in her community and she like personally knows better and just thinks it's obnoxious that what they're doing like she's not. In the dark about half of their finances. I at the risk of calling her a gossip. I think she was saying the I happen to know better. They don't need to be abusing the system that we're going to run it run short on. Because of them and their selfishness. Yeah, I understand. I just wanted to, you know, kind of point out there is two sides t everything. Oh, yeah. You know the least How do you feel this so bizarre to go here? The least thing can be misleading. Because if you lease a vehicle, you'll life looks pretty damn good. My my ex wife, who you know, had a tiny little apartment and you know we're married for 17 years. I've I've got the house. I've got two kids, but She's got a rinky dink apartment, you know, in the center of town, but she's leasing I heck of a vehicle that makes it look like life's pretty damn sweet, But it isn't so she runs into having display. Explain to people often nado. Don't let the least fool Leah. Exactly. Yeah, Exactly. Him took 60,000 somewhat dollar car with a $500 payment, which would put you down to about $25,000 car if you would buy it. Yeah, So, Yeah, it's false advertising. But I wanted something safe for my three kids to be in when they were with their mom. We record it down a little bit last, but that's what I went for, and at the time we could afford it. No problem, but No, uh, no funny, dear and funny to hear you call it false advertising that that that's a pretty That's an interesting way that they could actually advertise. Leasing a vehicle make it look like life is better than it actually is. Exactly like you have all your ducks in a row when you're up to your eyeballs. Yeah. Oh, I feel Yeah. I appreciate the call Pat on. It is important to make those kind of I don't believe in a one size fits all for anything. I'm hoping the lot of you that have been coming along for this ride have gleaned that from my monologues throughout the week. No subject I've been been wanting to get to and we began on the show. I want to tie up everything that was started earlier in the week. We were talking about how All we can do this. We can go here. There could be crowds here. That could be crowds there, but churches been getting a bum rap. I told you I had a lot of special guests lined up and with the holiday season right around the corner with Christmas right around the corner, and people.

Nate Hannah, I'm just going to be completely alone and I don't want to stay home because it's my senior year. And I do mean this When I say, do you? Ours is a fun house. She's constantly telling you half the friends names. I just rattled off there. She their home lives. They're tough stories to hear they all can't wait to get out of there. Uh, We have a lot of fun in my house. I'm not lying to myself. You couldn't get my daughter out of the house up until like, two years ago. Sophomore year. My son loves that film 24 7. So I said, Well, uh, then illuminate me. Is this scared? Parents making the call? Uptick on there is talking the Talk going around that? Yeah. This hybrid thing we're going to probably give it a rest. You're gonna go all virtual. Uh, So was it that she said No. They all say they don't see the point anymore. Which I said I don't get that I thought they all did their houses according to you, and she's they do? It's just that everything sucks. Uh, Then she went outside. I want to talk about it anymore. I mean driving school right now. All that's right. Yeah. Did I mention she's getting her driver's license in her bedroom, virtually online? Um, I've never These kids born 2003. That's my daughter, 4 4005. Were they pandemic kids? I don't really know what we're what we're doing here. The mixed messages. The school's back on the Were Lucy holding up the football for Charlie Brown, and he rushes towards it, sucker and she just pulls it away. Because we keep saying this is the day your everything goes back to normal way now we're not even doing that really anymore. Ah listener. W archeo, Steadfast listener sent me the story. And framing him. Framingham High School. What's been going on there looking at the story. Learning remotely since March..

"Switching gears yet again. We've been all over the road this Wednesday here on the Vinnie Penn Project on W. RKO and I appreciate your coming along for that ride Voice of Boston. Such an honor. We go to the phones right now. I want to welcome to the show Attorney Norm Pattiz. He's helped me out a couple of times before here. Doing my feelings if you will, and if anyone wants did Nash on big brother on the tech CEO owes And Zucker Burg and all that it's going to be attorney, Norm Pattiz, who took a hiatus from Social Media said. I've had enough. It's too intrusive. It's too invasive, but didn't even last a year, sir. It lasted about a year. I think what happened is I read she Shauna Do Boss book. She's a professor of their thinking. I might come about the steak and, um and she, she wrote something called the Agent surveillance capitalism and her. Her point was a simple one Social media Lucien and get you addicted to the weapon effort. And then then the jolt when somebody likes what you're doing. And said, harvests what you like, and it sells. You're dead of other people so that they can predict your behavior and manipulate you. And then and then they have the audacity to tell you what you can and you can't print. And when I realized that was going on, it was like the scales fell off of my eye, and I said, yes, these people I don't really want to be playing on somebody else's field and what men make money off me and then having them tell me what I can and can't say so I pulled the plug. About a year later, I realized, you know, missing out because it may be that I'm being manipulated, But I'm also getting something out of it, And that is the ability to connect with others to express myself to learn what's on other people's minds. So I made a cost benefit analysis and I jumped back in, but I jumped back in with my eyes wide open and, you know, I'm looking at Zucker Burg and I'm looking at Dorsey in front of Congress, and I'm on a slow burn, You know, Let's think about the business model with social media. Has they get immunity from lawsuits? They get to harvest our debt to sell it to advertisers. And they make so much money. They don't They don't even have time to count it. They've got away. It And then they sent for us and they sent to us without um, and can never be sued for their decisions because of section 2 30 of the Communications Decency Act. It is the biggest AM going in the United States is as though we gave standard oil oil wells, the right to drill oil, sell it pollutes the environment and not ever have any consequences. We shouldn't stand for it. And here's my solution. I disagree with people like Roger McNamee, who was an angel investor in Facebook and in early advisor to Mark Duck Pervert who thinks that we need somehow government regulation of speech in the digital world. I don't want government regulating my speech. I want Publishers to be accountable for this speech that they that they permit that they use on that they permit on their platforms. And I think the way to do that is if they want to enjoy to 30 immunity than they should be required to abide by First Amendment standards. We don't need to create a whole new body of law out of whole cloth to regulate speech. In a quintessential public forum. The First Amendment's been doing that for a couple of centuries, and it may not be perfect. We may have problems with hate speech. We may not know the difference between permissible, vigorous speech and fighting words, you know those legal standards and lines, maybe difficulty to draw. But I don't want some tech nerd whether it's in Silicon Valley or up there in Boston, telling me what I can and can't say, and I don't want my speech to have to conform to the standards of people whose politics I disagree with. So what do we have? Now? We had the hunter by the story and the possibility that he's funneling his funneling dodo Papa Joe from the Ukraine. It comes up through the New York Post and Twitter decides it's too hot to handle. And then we learned at the hearings in Congress, not only that they think it was too hot to handle. They may have talked about it to people on Facebook. They may have talked about it to people at Google and some secret Kabbalah is saying what I can and can't say. And then they decide to suppress it, and it may have had an election on a new impact on the election. I'm not worried about Russian interference in the United States electoral process. I'm worried about high tech interference in the electoral process and as well so how we how and when we can express ourselves So you know my view is Let's take a hard look at 2 30. You know, it would be a simple legislative fix. You don't have to threaten to dissolve these mega corporations. You can simply say, if you're going to occupy this space in the public market, you must adhere to First Amendment standards in employment law in many states, such as in Connecticut, Um you know, the First Amendment applies only the government. I mean, many people don't understand that it says Congress shall make no law. It doesn't say anything about private industry. So Facebook and company says we can do whatever we want, because you know what? We're not government. We'll make them behave like government in Connecticut. A private employer cannot fire a person because of their speech. The state statute says. Um, um, um You apply first minutes. Candor to unemployment Will doctor Why can't we do the same thing of social media And then if they engaging that has happened. Those firings have taken place Norman and we both know it. They have taken place. It's just nobody's hired. You know you want to defend them and to get them their job back or Severin space there. Dairies. Litigation. No, but look with respect it with respect to social media. You know, the government cannot engage in content based discrimination. It can't decide that some views are too too hot to handle and some views are okay. There can't be a PC witness test when the government regulates speech and their cross not to be one with social media. We just need to scream about that, because you know, yesterday it was The New York Post tomorrow, which W R K o And what's it going to be next? Something that Syria overhears in your house, You know? Did you see the story about what's going on in Scotland? There's a new statute in Scotland. Where in if you engage in so called hate speech in your own home, you could be prosecuted. Oh, yeah. Who's the witness is gonna be Siri, You know we're gonna get him. I mean, it's a chilly world, killing a frightening world world. You know, Uh maybe, but no, no, I love it. It's great stuff. And again. We're on with Attorney Norm Pattiz on we We've talked about this before. It is quite creepy stuff. How our phones are listening. I mean, maybe there are others who are aren't is dumbfounded by this as I am, And I don't think it has anything to do with my age. It has to do with just how invasive it is. But I can quite literally and it just happened A few days ago I talked to one of my kids. They mentioned something that they want. For Christmas. Just a casual conversation in the living room. The next day in my Facebook feed comes up advertisements for this very item that I didn't do a Google search. All I did was have a conversation about it. So we are absolutely being I don't know if does that qualify as a bug in your home? I would think that it does. Well, I think we've been we've signed on and we know you know, we've activated Syrian permitted Syria to listen. But here's the thing that I I'm finding these are my wife and I were disagreeing about something the other night and I don't know what I said. But my phone picked it up in the next thing you know Siri through. It's too sensitive on Di Don't really want Syria, listening to my disagreements with my wife. What's next, you know, knock it off Norm. She's right. Or maybe I'll get a personal call from Mark Zuckerberg. You know you're going to be suspended from Facebook for 30 days unless you agree to take out the trash with a smile on your face. I mean, and you know you we could go ahead and laugh about stuff like this. But that's what happens in China. People get social utility scores, and your access to public services are based in part on what those scores are you doing up there in Boston? I mean, I don't know if you any of your listeners are in Emmett Social Media lab. And if you're taking calls today, but I'd like, you know, I'd like some of those folks to call in and ask them what they're up to. You know, the social.

"I'm worried about gets the under toe. It's Vinnie Penn here with you on this Wednesday. 6 80 w R K o The Voice of Boston. I'm with you all week. Love to hear from me at 617 to 66 68 68 on Twitter. It's act Vinnie Penn, You could e Mail me Vinnie it Vinnie Penn dot net Like Quite a few have been doing the last few days and I sure do appreciate that tried to run a thread through the last hour of the show, So we began talking about this shell game that is student debt relief. And then my old radio co host Glenn back called in to talk, not only China and he kind of surprised me with some of his thoughts there. Um, but moreover, on what he thinks is the future of talk radio. I think we can tie The potential future of talk radio, too. Uh, Education in general, now, not the student debt. End of the equation. But education in general, I was looking at the story, for instance of Meghan Kelly. She's like I'm out. I'm not only in my yanking my kids out of their quote unquote woke school. But I'm leaving New York City all together, and then she details. Some of the assignments. Some of the memos sort of circulated and It's it's insane. Uh, So, as Glenn back says, the problem with the and Biden administration is going to be the FCC. It's going to be the watch stocks. It's gonna be. What did this person say? We've deemed it unacceptable. And believe you may it could be like the most absurd thing. Back and I were doing routines about political correctness being the death of us literally, quite literally in 1997. I don't want to make us ground breakers. So this is but we were doing routines about that on the top 40 station about political correctness. Don't say that this and that. You mark my words a week from Friday is Black. Friday on Lee going to be called Black Friday for so much longer. That will be gone now. I don't want and it's silly. Frivolous, but fine. I'm not the kind of person is like okay, If that's got to go, it's got to go If dwarfism it, it's It's a little people. And we don't say that other word. The M word and okay. And there is a very real ramification. If when it comes to a little person who used the M word, I'm not even comfortable saying, Well, I don't know what kind of a ramification there might be. What's most important here is and I do mean this. Is a management that stands by you. A management that says, Well, we think that's absurd. Now I know they're terrified by the advertising dollars stuck it Hold And sometimes the stories air. I think Megan Kelly's was ridiculous. She quite literally lost a daytime television show because she said she loved Diana Ross so much as a little girl that Where she was growing up in Long Island in the late seventies, she would have gone out dressed is her with her friends is the Supremes for Halloween. And you know, whatever Black face was necessary. She was she didn't get to say goodbye. I was on my show. I mean, that's insane. I was Jimmie JJ Walker. From Good times. One Halloween. And what we did back then. I was like 1980 was my My mother would like a cork. You get a little ashy with a Bic lighter in color in the face Now, I appreciate okay, that's going. It's not enough to lose it. You need managers who will stand up and say no, no, no. Okay, We appreciate it. If you need an apology will get an apology. You're not losing the job here and that schools when teachers go get renegade and start circulating. Outrageous memos and woke assignments. Principles got to stop playing oblivious. My son a couple of years ago was given an assignment to do. He chose to do it on Connor McGregor. We come from a fighting fan of fan of We're fans of pugilists that goes back to my grandfather. Teacher actually pulled him aside and said, Can't you pick a black fighter? To him. He was in fourth grade. Maybe fifth grade. You picked Connor McGregor. And he said, Well, I did Muhammad Ali two years ago. The greatest He could quote calls him the greatest. You'd already the teacher was a little bit embarrassed. She should have been a whole lot of us. Can't you pick up black fighter? I mean, maybe he could have done it his a seven on Jack Johnson. Boxing champ who Trump pardoned posthumously because all the guy did Was crossed state lines with a white woman back in the day. Barack Obama himself refused to part in the guy. Trump pardoned him posthumously. Barely got any attention. Let's grab a quick phone call right now. We're at 617 to 66 68 68. I think it's rust. We've got waiting for us right now. Hey, Yes, sir. Let's put it this way, okay? You can go on Twitter and all this other crap. All are okay and they can easily take off. What? You what you have put but Turk radio. They can't do that. I mean it most like calling. Tried to organize a riot or use a swear word or whatever. Um, you have to cut me off. So it's it's much more There is, Of course, I see this is Radio Free USA, and that's basically what it is. He gives us patriotic conservatives a place where we can vent Because we event can vent on the Marxist media whether it's in print or whether it zits on TV, You know otherwise. What I definitely your photo is, is the book tool. And always remember, you can take a monkey and entertain them in front of the television, But I love it. I love you What You just did right there, though. Boob tube we've only got the clock is ticking on boob too broad that rust. That's that's going to be gone soon. That's the biggest problem is sure you can call into a show and I could do is show it's these the crash course in Ooh, that word's out. It was like I said to Glennbeck, Remember when thug was just suddenly out like you could? I don't know what happened to bone bone. What is it? Bone thugs n harmony like like what Thug was suddenly In incendiary word, and you don't get the memo. We'll be right back. My name is Melissa. And I'm a foster parent with embrace treatment, foster care. My.

I hope to God, that doesn't happen, But I don't think that's Outside the realm of possibilities. Was talking to Vinnie Penn today from W E l I and he said I heard somebody talking about a speech you gave to the radio industry where you said. That if Biden winds Talk radio in particular is going to come under attack and it is it is possibly going to be lost. And I said it everybody think that was crazy. Said No. Everybody agreed with you except me. He said. We're more important now. More important than ever. And I said You're exactly right. We are more important than ever before. Because we're becoming the last line of defense. That is why they will do everything they can to silence us. They will come after our sponsors like Nobody's business. They will do everything they can to scare you and others away from us. And in the end, the FCC will just come up with something and it'll pass. Especially If we lose.

"Bit here. As we get into our number three of today's now Vinnie Penn Project here filling in this week on W. R K. Oh, there's a really You would think it was your tried and true kind of gotcha piece on bright bark dot com right now, But it's so much more than that's not even written by our next guests. Guest Rebecca Mansour, But it's there's a slideshow search of seven Democrats not practicing what they preach. But there's so much more to it than that s so let's welcome our special guest at this time. Welcome Bright Bart news senior editor at large, Rebecca Mansour and we've got to proceed with caution. I hope you've been well. Yes, I am. I'm specially distancing from you, Benny. I'm very far away. We're not going to get sick at all. I'm on the West Coast. No, we'll know by proceed with caution. I mean, yesterday I delivered a monologue about Cuomo was bizarre. Just his choice of words I prohibit Gatherings of more than 10 people in private residences. I found that to be scary stuff, but it incurred the wrath of a listener. I read an email that does I was basically called a killer. What does New York have to do with me that I mean, Brother lives there we don't you want Nana and pop? She asked me to He here for next Thanksgiving. So I think as we move towards zeroing in on what this attack on Thanksgiving and Christmas is all about, well, you may just get an email yourself. Oh, don't worry. Will you know when I would like to know from that list there If they could explain something to me, Why is it that Corona viruses were contagious in gyms after 10 P.m.. Yes. I don't understand that. That's kind of like the new rules as well. Hey, I mean, I can kind of understand why they would close like a bar after 10 p.m., because I guess they're sending people get sloppy, drunk and like, stop them. Where their math properly or something, But what's wrong with the gym? Is it more contagious after 10 P.m. and a gym? Can you say that to move any well that figures that out? Well, that's been my struggle all along is the arbitrary nature. You make a fair point about bars but restaurants. Now it's First of all, we've got a guy. Mayor in the town I grew up in who wants a ban on all indoor dining for the winter months, and it's like, well bye to some of the best pizza in the country. I mean, there goes Pappy's. There goes Sally's I don't know if you know whereof I speak, but they're like Nationally renowned pizza houses and it's a ban. You can't curbside Christmas. It's just a bad Title for Ah Ah Hallmark Christmas movie. But when they talk about OK 9 30 for dining rooms. That's it. Well, what's the difference between eating dinner at eight o'clock or 10? O'clock? On when they come up with 10. People can come to your house. Why not 12? Why I just it all feels very and it has from the get go Rebecca the 6 ft because 6 ft, then became eight, then became 12 and then went back to six. And that's why I lose faith. I completely but you know it, actually, when you mention restaurants, my favorite new development, remember how like they said that you could dine in the parking lot, You know, that's okay. And now suddenly they're doing this thing. Where, Because it's the cold weather is out there building tents in the parking lot, so you can't eat in an enclosed restaurant. But you couldn't eat in an enclosed tent in the parking lot. That makes sense, right with with with those kerosene heaters that that are just I don't know. There's something that that suggests to me. And what do I know? I follow the science, they say, But I don't know. It seems like a magnet for contagion. And the same waitress is coming over to your mask on. I don't I don't understand any of it. I know their wing again. I get that they're winging it. But this is You're pushing everything I think a little too far. Absolutely movie that everything where I lost faith is when it's okay to like, Have these masks. Chest if you're a Democrat. On. It's okay to like celebrate Joe Biden. You know, victory and go out meth protests, okay, And but it's not okay to do anything else. You can't have Christmas but I mean, like New York New Yorkers were passing around champagne box for God's sake. Just last week, you know, giant crowds. I'm like, Wait a minute. How is that safe studio? We'll know the pandemic. Yeah, but it's totally but you know, it says Like I think that you could beat this virus. If you just wear a Harris Biden T shirt and go out E Lovett. You're a Democrat. You're, um you know, I'm that's what I'm thinking. We should all just become Democrats. You know, my big concern is and again wrong with bright, part news senior editor at large Rebecca Mansour and I did believe that Ah, lot of this was going to calm down after the election. I don't want to come off as a complete conspiracy theorist to you, but I My belief is that this was made in a lab in China because Trump slapped China down. They retaliated. It's an act of war and nothing less than that. And that if Biden won his first move would be to make nice with China and magically. We'd have a vaccine and we'd get our America back. And for about 48 of them for a couple of days, I felt like I was spot on because here came Fizer like we're ready. We're good to go. And I thought, man, I'm right. But now I'm seeing. Talk of you won't even be able to get your shot until the fall of 2021. Fowzie is saying next winter won't even be normal, so it doesn't look like They're going to keep us in this headlock for for a longer period of time, and I really didn't expect that. What are your thoughts on that? I. It's just say that the distribution of the back team Vaccine. Since there's there's more than one now. It looks like you know, there's there is competing vaccine. It's gonna probably be pretty tricky to get the order to get that out to everybody, right? And I'm not. And I'm wondering how many people are gonna be lined up to take it right away. So I'd be the first, you know, Like, I'm not opposed to taking a vaccine, but I kind of want other people to try it. First e don't wanna be the guinea pig. And I think that most Americans just kind of in my boat. They're like, Yeah. You tried first Watch if you like, Okay? This is gonna be tricky. And then it looks like you have to take like you know your first shot, and then you have to come back A week later. A day later, something take the second shot. I'm like this is gonna be a long time to distribute that thing. I hadn't heard that. I hadn't heard that. I know that now. Mo Derna was there breaking news that now? Moderna, Not to be outdone by Fizer is saying hold up. Because we've got something to there's going to be an abundance of inoculations. I think 2021 will be the year of inoculations. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, yes, if one is like 94% of fact of the other ones, 90, So you know, I don't know. It's just that this is one of the reasons while a lot of these health experts You always sound like they're equivocating like they don't know what they're talking about. They really don't know what they're talking about. They're kind of like guesstimate. You know everything, but I mean, you know what? At the end of the day, Veni Let me call this virus like the Darwin Awards. The viruses. It's pretty easy to bait. You know you where you Matthew, say 6 ft. Away from people who don't live with you. You wash your face your hands and you don't touch your face. I mean, Okay, I'll do that and get about our business. You know, get India out about We don't have to be locked out. It doesn't seem like If we just act, you know intelligently. We can move around. So I agree. Thank you Don't understand. A lot of the block down is wrong is our hospitals are not overwhelmed. We're gonna have to live with this thing. So we're gonna have to, like, Be smart about it seems to me and now I did see the piece on bright part..

"Vinnie Penn. I'm filling in for V Be today is on vacation this week Back on Monday will be in the middle. Come Monday. Don't you worry. It's been a rough patch for our cable news, guys. These last couple days, we're gonna have Joshua Johnson on from MSNBC. You're in just a couple of minutes for everybody who brought up the media over the course of this past two hours or so. Ah, Make sure I press him on how you're going about serving up the news today, the edits the editing process. Our digesting too many things where it's like, Well, I didn't see the beginning. You're only giving me the middle ofthe this clearly there was a beginning to the speech or this situation and unending. You're just giving me 12 seconds out of the middle. It's one of the biggest problems. I think going on in the news today, I was just talking with lightning off the air about the Joe Johns. I'm not even familiar with his work a feel for the guy from CNN. He's Like Having a fistfight with a raccoon on the White House lawn. I just posted something about that on Twitter. If you want to check it out. My handle is at Vinnie Penn, and it's V I n N e. But it just just hysterical to see him being terrorized by a raccoon right before he's doing a live shot. From the White House. And that he actually shouts at one point, not again just begs. The question is the same raccoon. Is it? Possibly the CNN van with you? All of me? Not again. Oh, God! No! God, please! No, no. You.

"Was actually an ad for V. B in the middle. How unprofessional It's VP in the middle filling in for me Be. My name is Vinnie Penn. You could treat me at Vinnie Penn. We've got a special guest coming up in just a moment. But I want to take a quick phone call if we could squeeze it in right now. And welcome Bill from Maicon. Julia thought Pence did well enough. I hear Yes, Yes. No, I don't think he helped the president much. And here's why he Mr Pence seems thoroughly capable. But he also seems so sort of measured. And controls and the contrast with the president who's more likely to pop off and you know everything is the best ever. Mr Spence is not like that. It was a stock reminder of how Republicans used to talk and how they use the sound before the trump days. Yes. Oh, then you didn't go for the whole fleshing out of finally seeing. Okay, This is a good cop, Bad cop kind of thing. Have you didn't like the dynamic? You saw that? I did. I thought, the contrast was striking because there was no seven dating. So there was no no. The best ever is all very measured in control. That's what we Republicans used sound. Yeah, yeah, well, reporters are even saying the cadence the word today's cadence. With regards to both pence and Harris and it is interesting. You are right become trump. Everything is better than ever. It was never better. 01 other thing is did Mike Pence always talked that slow and I never noticed it is going to be like Very talking very slow, brother long some reason, you know, and that's probably why he went a CZ long as he did. Bill. I appreciate always do that. Well, you know, the catch here is, you know, And it's always the case with the vice president outside of debates. I mean, how often do we see and hear from them? So last night was a crash course for me personally in Pence in a lot of ways. David if I can't even recall his vice presidential debate last time around Which was probably the last time I saw him speak, so I can't speak to your question right there. Maybe this gentleman can we have a special guest right now? Welcome to the show, David Bossie, you may recall he was deputy campaign manager for the Trump presidential Campaign. 2016. And perhaps that's where you teamed up with Cory Lou in Taos Ski, and you've now written this book Trump America. First, The President's succeeds against all odds. I do want to start things off in a Rocky way, sir, if you don't mind The James Woods. Basically the James Woods forward, basically is is that the greatest idea Because the book does start off with what I love where James Woods is at now in pop culture and its he doesn't really seem to care about his his acting career anymore. He's that passionate about his his beliefs, but I found it interesting that you went with a blurb of James Woods. S so good in casino way. We think the same thing. Look, ese is independent mind in a town Hollywood. Dominated by the left, and so you know, he has the courage of his convictions and you know, and he's also funny is also we figured why not go with that? Yeah, and you know he like, Like I said, he comes off as if you're giving me a choice between More movie roles or me speaking my mind, I'll choose the latter. He does come across the way but for the most part, but just just for one second, of course, different discussion, but It shouldn't have to be that because nobody on the left. Have that internal conversation, right? Nobody on the left. In Hollywood as well. You know if I go out, and I do this for climate change, or social justice or to support the nominee of the Democratic Party, I have not. I have to worry about my next job. That just isn't the way it's supposed to be in America. To be honest with you. We should all have Whatever opinions we want. Leave him at the door. I mean, it's just it's what what? What's changed over the last several years, obviously because of the left. Never accepting the results of the 2016 election. Being willing to say Donald Trump is are legitimately elected president. They have never Ever done that in Hillary Clinton is really the person who never never accepted the results. Yeah, Yeah, I I I've said it here for years, you know, as a father of two small kids. On. We're supposed to be role models. I've never seen such poor sportsmanship in my life. I can't believe I lived through a period of time where Americans were grown ass adults were saying not my president. You don't get you really Don't You're never supposed to say that we've got it so right and so for eight years No way. Disagreed with Barack Obama. Okay, Two elections in in in in 12, 8 and six and 12. We tried T. We work hard to defeat him and what we do We lost. We lost that we went on with our lives. We went on with fake now try to legislate. Let's cut and that's what you do in this business. You don't burn cities. To the ground and you don't stop. You know an entire cities. Commerce. You don't murder people is this is a different world we're living in. Unfortunately, that's well said, and Ah Trump went there. In the first debate. He went and said I'd have the national Guard there tomorrow. That's what I'm prepared to do. I believe in law and order. How do you think he fared? In the first of the three debates. You know, I think I think I think the I think the president Uh, very well. He did exactly what he planned to do, which was trying to get, um, sleepy, Joe, you know, maybe knock some of the cobwebs off it and see exactly who he is and how he is on ST I I think Joe Biden performed. Um you know his performance was was better than I anticipated in the sense of his Ability to Teo handle those back and forth. Answers weren't good buddy. But his ability to handle the back and forth was better than I anticipated. And that quick you have to be so fast in quick and nice that so I don't I don't have any mints. They're with him, but When you can you, kid even condemn and tifa and you kill it, Even in my opinion, One of the strongest moments of the night was when the president said Joe. Just name one police organization that has endorsed you Want? Yeah, Joe, just one. And it's not a joke. Button said. Hey, I don't answer your questions, Okay? I don't know like that's a tactic. You know he could do that. But you have what you have. He couldn't. He couldn't come up with one because there aren't any And that's the biggest problem and that's a very clear. Line ah, that the president has the men and women in blues full support. Joe Biden once defund the police and Donald Trump has their back. Yeah, yeah, that's that's what I like the title of the book Trump America first, uh, especially the America first and because I do believe that, and that's why he's looked at and viewed as Oh, and people get to use on the left. Get to use words like Xena phobic and all because you will comfortably say, Well, we got to be first again. We've got to think about us again. We do have enemies. China is an enemy in a lot of ways, and he's you know, he's acknowledging an elephant That's been in the room 20 years now, if you don't mind my calling you, Dave. And and I think, And I think Biden would not say America first, he'd think globally. Oh, no, We have many friends and America does need to be first. Right now. That's why I really gravitated to the title. Thank you because, and that's why we created that title Trump American person. It's what's in his Mind. It's what it's what dominates every decision, whether it's about the economy and bringing back jobs from overseas, whether it's about bringing back manufacturing. You knew you name the issue, whether it's little each piece what? Whether it's making NATO makes our allies in NATO pain pay their fair share, he says. How am I putting America person, he says. 2015 and 16. I am going to be elected president of the United States. Other countries can vote for people who will fight for them, but I'm fighting for the American people. I'm not putting the world first, and we're not going to turn our backs and now go. Back to the Obama Biden Apology Tour era. That's it. Oh, and I covered that to the apology tour again Want with David Bossie? He's written this book with Corey Lou in Taos. Key. Is that what you first across?.

"806 630380 again. 806 630380 Voice of Boston. Okay, We're back into mini pad filling in for V V. Who's on vacation this week, missing all the fun. You can take a week off when there's a debate, not not in this particular race. You could tweet at me at Vinnie Penn. Who's got a comment to make about media Bob taking away way anyhow, why you do a great job? Thanks very much. You want to take some shots at the media? I'm with you. Yeah, I just think that there's a lot of involvement too much and involvement of corporations that have a stronghold. On these media outlets, and therefore they define what we listened to and what we here and where it comes from. Just just ordered white Pence does a great job. And what does he do? It gets battered in the press. How How can that be? Unless somebody is pulling the strings somewhere, So what we need to do is that they need to be laws they need. We need to get into Congress with separating the media from corporation. Can't have that kind of connection. If there's money involved, you know that's going to be a slight of end or the bending of words and and that's what we need to do. We need to stop. Listening. I see. For example, you commentator that's fine. I have a problem in people can listen to archeo Listen to commentary. But when it comes from the Washington Post when it comes from The New York Times, when.

"Good Day Animal Lovers Vinnie Penn your party animal coming an actor on animal radio. Got An interesting question I'd like to ask you folks out there and of course, feel free hit me up at vineyard animal radio. Dot. com and it is Vinnie. I E at the end much as my father hated that he always thought I should go V. I n. y.. But another story perhaps for another time. My question is this. Why is it whenever I parked my car in a convenience store parking lot and I'm getting out and cutting between two other cars on my way to walk into the store the. Rabid aggressive hostile beast that someone has left in their vehicle. Usually, a pickup truck is Ninja quiet until I'm in between the two cars and then lunges through the halfway rolled down window of the truck just at the time that I'm passing through the cars. Can anyone answer that it's like these dogs are left in the front seat of the vehicle and almost to you don't make a sound don't let anybody know you're in there and told their creeping in between our car and the car next to us, and then scare the Bejesus out of them because you know the guys who own these dogs say things like Bejesus the other day I was on my way into the convenience searchers wanted to grab a soda which I didn't even wind up doing because the mountain dew would have finished me off the heart attack I had in the parking lot would have been the final blow I'm walking in between a car and a truck this this this. German shepherd pit bull rottweiler hybrid. Yes. I believe they exist and I'm going to call it A. Germ reiller. German Weiler I'm going to call it a German wiler comes lunging through the halfway rolled down window just at them. I mean not three minutes into three seconds before not three feet before just as I'm between and there's just enough window down so that when he's barking wildly his saliva splatters me on the side of my face. And I have to scream Controlled ice. Kinda like a girl in the parking lot of the convenience store. The owner of course, this is hilarious. But if I was with my five year old that would have been it that the dogs would have been off limits for the rest of her life. So please somebody out there to tell me ARP our dog owners training dogs to sit like Ninjas, on the front seat of their vehicle with the windows rolled halfway down train to wait just until that person cuts in between their vehicle and the one next to it get just for laughs. Is it I got it. It's a hidden camera shop. It's dog scare the crap out of you in parking lots and hey, vinny pens on the debut episode Vinnie Party Animal Animal Radio. Yeah puppy pads are convenient but sometimes the really gross that's why the Animal Radio Studio Stunt Dog Lady Bug uses the brilliant pads self cleaning puppy pad. We love how it handles number one and number two it seals away the waste and replaces dirty pads for us. Brilliant bad keeps her home clean and smelling fresh. All we do is replace the role once every few weeks and the process is fast and clean. In fact, lady bug gives it five pause up learn more about it at brilliant pad dot com apply. How are you doing? Find reason I was calling because I'm sort of desperate for help with a kitchen that we got. All he's. Six months old already eleven pounds. About from the time we got him from a rescue he. Often and hard and. You can talk. So we did check back with the rescue early and they suggested we get 'em neutered early. So we did that. But now I'm sort of wondering if there's anything else we should be looking for trying other than the things we have tried we don't play rough. Use Toys when we play, we don't use her hands. So we. To point where we're at a loss and we've had cats forever. So we're not quite sure what with this guy? So. What what's the typical situation when he bites you is when you're just walking around the house and he kind of just pretty much ambushes and attacks, wrinkles does ambushed but a lot of the Times it's fun. We're just sitting still watching TV, and he's you know he's a kitten huge and he's got a lot of energy but. you know we're happy to play with him, but the whole, just sneak up and grab your arm or okay. Well in in with cats especially young cats you know you recognize he's got a lot of energy and it's a little harder to get these guys that that outlet for their energy So that is definitely one of the big things that I focus on trying to find ways to interact with the Katie So the interactive toys and you're. So. Right. We don't WanNa, play ever with our cats with our hands or even toys within the hands. We want extension toys, things that you can kinda swing and he's a handle one mostly what you? Yes, those are wonderful so that that's definitely one route that I would recommend go now do you know any of his original history as far as how the shelter Ghanem how we came to be there I do and I should have known better They said that they found him along side of a barn when he was approximately two days old and hunts litter mates had already died. So he was brought into the shelter ladies home she bottle fed him. Okay. All right. So he had a really rough start but then by the time. We met him. He looked he looked healthy had been placed in a little with a lit- with alliterative kin so that he had other kids around him but he was bottle fed and he was a stray. Okay. So well, at least he did grow up around kittens because when you're giving me that history, I was like Oh my goodness for cat owners out there the number. One thing when cats do this I always go to history because if a can't is raised without its mom the lose the ability to really learn bite inhibition. So normally cats kittens. Learn through play with their mom and their other kittens in the in the household and when too hard and play his kind of exceeding that that threshold they get a correction and with kittens that don't grow up with that interaction in that Kitty Socialization, they can actually have a real problem with aggressive play inviting. So I mean that definitely makes sense. So he is a product of his upbringing. In an environment and that helps to explain things. So he really hasn't learned better and then plus he's got all this energy. So that's going to be our real goal. Now when I have a kitchen that's doing this the most important thing I helped cat owners is we really don't punish these kitties because it can actually escalate things and you can give a verbal correction saying no out your. Stop or something like that but you don't WanNa do anything to discipline a cat. So I don't chase them down I. Don't squirt them with water that actually makes their anxiety greater and actually can make a bigger component of fear with these type of things. So can escalate things.

"Newsroom and Lorie Brooks what are you working on for this hour well you know how we've talked before about pets and the opioid epidemic and about how for example a pet owners might be not being so go ahead they're hurting their pets for opioids their drug seeking one state has actually done a study on this so we can now put a number to one st how what percentage of people in their population are doing this to their pets okay this is this is very distressing news for me anybody that comes to your clinic looking for opioids for themselves and I never had anyone hurt their pet that I know of but I've had some individuals excessively Phil Medicine and it led to couple changes in our office. I can tell you it's just kind of how we deal with it I I don't carry a lot of opioids for outpatient us so I actually script those to an outside pharmacy and then they're under the observation of the DA so it kind of takes that kind of off my shelf and then it is supervised by the federal authorities so if they were doing that and they're also buying themselves that would kind of flag so do you have any not that while they're not harming their pet they may be taking their medicine and all of a sudden you know they they forgot their medicine elsewhere left it or dropped it or you know need get it refilled Asap you know I think some of those situations give them better thatta the doubt but there are some times over the years where I've had someone come in before that prescription should have run out and there are already refilling it and those are the ones that I usually say you know what I can fill this and then when you put it through an outside pharmacy they will not refill it before that time time they say sorry but if you go to your veterinarian you know you may have a sob story one week the next week and other so that's that's just how I've found stay on top of that and not become part of that cycle more on that just a couple of minutes with Lorie Brooks said the bottom of this hour with our news do that at the bottom of each hour okay coming up after the news the guest we've all been waiting for Bart Jansen the guy who maybe helicopter out of his deceased Kitty okay so whether or not you think that's a good thing or a bad thing stick around because this guy is one class Act Vinnie Penn here match on Animal Radio Your Resident Party animal the topic Du Jour or dare I get cheeky and say a pet peeve of mine when that friend of yours that you haven't seen in years a girlfriend of mine came up to me recently and said do you want to see a p. I showed her pictures of my kids and she said you want to see a picture of hi kids and she pulls out a photograph of two dogs I don't know that there's anything more frustrating than I get the sentiment of the couple whose decided against having children but to get a dog together in regard that as that's our child and to regard it seriously that's our kids chip an eagle don't they're not your kids I'm all for treating the pet like member of the two dogs in my lifetime and absolutely were members of our family they were man's best friend I am down with all of that but they are not your children as a father I take now why it's so silly now granted I dated a few girls and the day where I could have had children with them and they would have been dogs yeah I get all of that but to do that to show that photo and say dead serious these are our children we love them like you love your own children no you don't. no you don't because my kids would never have that tartar build up on their teeth Vinnie Penn party animal animal radio take it to a whole new level in fact so little is known about the romantic life of pandas that a TV team from England set out to find out what really goes on in closed doors or at least behind all that bamboo pandas live by themselves and only come together during mating season so they're really private and hard to get close to the film crew had to be extremely quiet the program wild China shows Pinhas in an altogether different light than the shy placid bears you might see in a zoo the usually silent male pandas were seen barking and shouting one producer described it as to buck as from Star Wars in a bar fight over a female panda swaying back and forth in a.
