"For every child. I did. It's not anymore. Henry Vanko two lives near Vinters Vike, who's skating club was the only one in the Netherlands to have a single short day of action on naturalized in the whole of 2020. He and his colleagues are trying to save their sport on their new rink is nearly ready. What is brand new is the insulation under the asphalt. There is no other eyes ring in the Netherlands and probably not in the world, which is On purpose insulated from below. 100 from Proia has been the driving force and it's taken a lot of thought and effort two years ago Club not far from here, measured the temperature off the soil when they had natural eyes and the competition on that naturalized. They had three centimeters of ice. But 1 M. Down in the soil, the temperature was 12 degrees. And that hate tends to go up then my son in law, he said. You should insulate it from from below. And we started researching and after three months concluded that the best way would be to insulate it by means off layer off, sell concrete as they call it so concrete with foam in it with the air in it. 5 30 in the morning. Temperature on the surface off the asphalt. Minus 1.5. Between the asphalt and the cell concrete. 0.1 Should be Must be possible to add at least Small layer of ice. That's right. Water for that ice comes from a spray system, which needs going out with a gas burner before it can be put to work propelled around the track by a battery powered vehicle that leaves a thin layer of water, which then freezes on the insulated asphalt. Less. Water needs less time to freeze. So, with a few layers done, and daybreak, not far off, it's time to check. This'll is a great moment. We did it. 1.5 million m of ice and we can skate into into track is really great ice. Six o'clock in the morning. Yes,.

"In south western Washington, and also over toward the hills, and then we'll cooler up north and on the coast has usual in terms of how warm. It's going to be for twenty nineteen house this stack up right? Well, so we're looking at Wednesday should be the hottest day of the year so far. Okay. And I guess I can speak in code if you've lived here long ago you know what this code is, is July. Fifty fifty. It's, it's close. I think we have turned the corner. There isn't really much of anything in the long range showing any kind of rain or we're back to that cooler temperatures, and usually the way it kinda works here as we do have like our one last shot of cool rainy, weather, and then we can go to three or four weeks, where it's just sunny, a nice and all that changes is whether the temperature stays in the seventies or warms and knew the eighties, and I think we've kind of moved into that stretch now. So I think summer's here even though it's not really here. If you could have been here and looking at Scott's face when he just went out on a limb there his his his entire net just ten stuff when he said summers, here's here the. Canada Goose shares plunge on revenue miss and outlook cut

"If yesterday was all about payment technology, and it was today is all about retail. And we've got earnings and I'm putting earnings in air quotes because there's a lot of red out there today. Let's start with Canada goose, which is the maker of outerwear and Benson jackets. I own this on the stock just got cheaper the stock just got cheaper and let me just say a lot Canada. To anyone listening, please ignore any headlines. You see about Canada goose fourth quarter adjusted prophets being higher than expected. Because none of that matters revenue was weak. And the company said it expects a now I'm quoting materially larger losses in the current quarter. Well, this is this actually that that's not really very shocking. I wouldn't call revenue week. It was still pretty good growth. The, the problem here is there. Always surpassing estimates. They missed the estimates by Wapping eight hundred thousand dollars. Stocks down twenty five percent or close to it right now. So that is a bit of an overreaction, but it's understandable revenue was up twenty five percent, and that's in Canadian dollars, and I can't remember how Canadian dollars compared to real dollars these days, but we'll do things in Canadian dollars since that's what I have in front of me. And they said looking out that, well, this was slowest revenue growth in several quarters. But this is not really that crazy. They sell expensive jackets and you can't grow forty percents every quarter forever. You know, you start you get a bigger base in that growth becomes harder to achieve now the material larger losses in justed operating earnings and net. Income are also really nuts. Not a surprise because they have been building out, a small small butts, but larger retail footprint. And so you talk about quarters where you're not selling as much product mostly, they still sell in Ohio end jackets. So when you're selling less product, but you have a bigger footprint in your putting the pedal to the metal on on systems to support that footprint. You end up with more losses in the quarters where you're not gaining the revenue. None of this is to say that this is awesome news. I'm I'm not excited about it as a shareholder. But I'm not really all that worried. This is a company that was trading at a premium. So this is not unexpected. But I don't think this is a signal for the end. So let me get to the math for second because while you were chatting, I just use the Google machine one coalition one, Canadian dollar equals basically seventy five cents in the US, so eight hundred thousand dollar loss. That's just a shade under six hundred thousand. Dollars. So you, you really look at this stock down twenty five twenty six percent and you think to yourself. This seems like a little over reaction. I would have expected something more line of like ten fifteen percent. But what do I know people are worried about a lot of stuff today? We've got the trade war continuing to go on in many other retailers are kind of stinking it up. We've got a couple of you know, we've got an we're gonna talk about Abercrombie aren't we is this a is this transition? Is this what's known in the biz is a transition also down around twenty twenty five percent of we can. But let me just say one last thing with Canada goose, which is I mean this stock with the drop today is basically where it was a year ago. Yeah. So it it has visited lots of interesting places in between now. It's sort of mid thirties today. I was near a double not long ago. Yeah. I didn't sell it because this is a stock that came to me when I was in New York City, everybody was wearing these jackets or knockoff version. But even the dudes carrying noodles. Out of the dumpling shop, that I like. So these aren't folks who make a ton of money their, their delivery dudes on vikes. They were buying the actual candidate goose jacket because they didn't wanna freeze. It was really cold at that point in time, I came back, I started looking into, you know, reading reviews of the jackets, even the dirtbag gear magazines were they frown on sort of boutique expensive stuff. Their attitude was, you know, it kinda hate to admit it because he's really expensive, but they really are a step above. So if you've got the money this is what you should go for. And then I started looking at the financials, I thought this was worth an investment to me. They're doing a good job, but it's always been high price stock. And if you be can't hurdle that earnings estimate for the first time in a while everyone freaks out.

BCycle now has electric assist bikes

"Cycles, which you guys have heard me talk about for every year, the B cycle company. Omaha makes upgrades in and and I've kind of given up on running. It's not a really great way to get in shape when you're my age anyways, and biking a super great lot easier on for a so I am back in the be cycled in coming back to them this year. It's still ten dollars a month if you go to heartland dot B cycle dot com is their site. They now have electric assist bikes which are awesome. Like I, I want to I wanna buy these, this is one of those where it senses like so you start pedaling. And if you're going up a hill, it will kick in, and then it just kind of syst- you up the hill, and we have some pretty good hills here in Omaha. It's not in ver okay? Okay, denver. Sorry. It's not Denver. Right. Everybody's. No, we're not Denver. But it is pretty we still have some pretty good hills downtown. And I took the electric bikes out for the last two days, and it has really brought some magic back to some motivation behind me biking to the point now where okay I'm getting electric assistant ongoing lot faster, which is a lot more fun. And I'm not gonna do it all the time because I really I need the workouts that the really crappy vikes, you know, the big heavy trek bikes. Right. These are the heaviest bicycles in the world. They only have three speeds there intentionally slow like they don't want you to go fast. They don't want you to get hurt hurt on these things. But, but wow. The other thing they changed on their app here in town, which is cool is you can see not only how many bikes, but what kind are they electric? Or are they just the manual kind which is super cool? And then the new feature they added this time. And this is this changes everything. Me because I was having to carry I was carrying my ID and my credit card, so I could check the bikes out and yesterday. I lost my driver's license as I was biking. It's really sucks. I'm hoping somebody will mail, it, it, I'm hoping some, some nice, personal mail in, I don't have to get a new one. Getting a new ones losing a credit card. Honestly is worse because you have to shut off the credit card, and then all those things that go along with canceling a credit card that really sucks driver's license just go down and DMV pay him twenty five bucks, and they give you a new one out of a deal, but it has been. I'm having that. So now on the app, you just you say where you're at and you put the number of the stall in the bike, just pops out for super great charge Jakarta the app. Yeah, switch. No. And I have a ten dollar ten dollar plan here. No Mahal gets me an hour on the bike for free and then it's four dollars an hour after that. But if I checked the bike in and check it back out. Timer, resets, a soup or great way, men and ladies, a super great way to get some fitness. I don't own a bike. I don't have to own a bike. We have I don't know, hundreds, maybe thousands of bikes in the Omaha area. I can just drive the one jump on it and get get a bike fracture Cise. It's a super great way of getting out getting some sun, getting around Omaha and getting some exercise, Mike. I'm kinda back it. I've done it twice now yesterday and today and I'm like miss this during the winter. So super great to be back on the bike. Have you ever have you looked at any? Kind of any kind of the, the bike system, and now we're gonna talk about an a second. They have those scooters have you ever looked at an using any of those? Yeah. Well, I, we loved the scooters we went to Nashville, Tennessee, and we use the scooters to get around locally when we were down there for family vacation and we loved him. So I'm super excited actually use those in downtown. But from where I'm at Jim, there's really no easy place to access those bikes. You know, I don't work downtown or anything like that. So we actually hand, I have our own bikes. And I we use them every once in a while we now have the burly that attach to the back of the boys, which, you know, makes us use them a little bit more. But no, you know, I haven't used the ones we check out very often when those are nice, though, is when I'm with a group like

"And I don't think he's a fan of, well, let's let's figure out what happened here. So Alec Baldwin's not a fan of mine. He called me cheesecake face and okay. This is going to be crushing to me, isn't it? Because Alec Baldwin and Daniel Baldwin, we're on the show and I've always wanted to talk to Alec Baldwin. It's the first time we've ever. I've always wanted to talk to him on the show since I found him interesting since he was very honest in a New Yorker profile on him, talking about how he had failed as a movie star because he couldn't carry a movie. And so his acting career was a failure, and I just thought I found his level of introspection so interesting that I bought his autobiography. I'm a fan of this person, so they came on with us and he was sent to us for free. But you did think enough about him to ask Allison to have them send it to you for free. So that's that you read it. I mean, you know what? I lost that one. I bought one at the airport, so now I believe that. Well, that's true. I remember where I was when I bought the Alec Baldwin autobiography. Well, he hates you. Here's audio. I gotta go, but I just want to say this. I really mean this. This is not because you're my brother. You know these guys. I'm not going to say that they're in negative integer personality wise, but under the negative comment. But they're kind of zero. I mean, there's not a whole lot going on there. There's very calming mafia jokes, and all this kind of crap. You know, they're, they're, they're not that clever. I, I don't even know if good writing can help them, but you are the king. You're the guy who you got the facts. You got the delivery. I'm not saying this. 'cause you're my brother. I mean, you're very good at this and hopefully your show is going to grow. And by the time you get to where I think you belong in sports radio, those guys are going to be like bringing you your coffee human. They're going to be like insurance working for you. They're going to be out of business and they're going to be like bringing you your cinnamon swirl Danish and your coffee. Okay. Brother, you know how much I love you, and your support means a lot to me. Thank you. Which one was that. The, I think there was a bit of a slip there because he said, Daimiel, you have the fats if we listen back to it. So he's we're not clever and again, he's judge. He is again or deigning himself gatekeeper for comedy. He doesn't fight you. I can assure you the better writing hasn't helped. He probably doesn't know anything about my career like writings. Now I like writing would help us if I wrote the show. I'm a writer. I'm a professional writer, but I'm hurt what you're hearing now is wounded me. Alec Baldwin hates us. Alec Baldwin bloated face of pomposity arbiter for all things comedic. I can't. I mean, I can't fight too much about getting big time by. He's Alec Baldwin that in itself is an achievement. Alec Baldwin big timing you? Yeah. But I mean, we're not exactly a huge underdog. I understand we're on the lowest rung of the show business ladder, but his brother's beneath us and and there's not going to be a whole lot of getting getting him coffee and cinnamon swirls that's more likely to work the other way. Now, Alec admittedly, I'd have to bring him as an intern, the sentiments world, but all the other brothers are bringing them to me. Really. William. Which ones that the good looking, what that's me. Psych. Stephen. Even as good looking. He's got those dreaming eyes, but that's dated face. Billy does. Oh, that's Billy Steven. Steven was in bio. Why am I talking in the third person? Because I'm Stephen Daniels also Fifty-seven. Not interning give him time. I want them to the demographic. I want him to keep coming on. I want I want this can unravel in curse words and shame and national indignity..

"I can try for the kid from little big league or something to make the people at ESPN, fifteen hundred twin cities, happy. Well, I do want to please these people. Minnesota has been very good to us as as have been some of their longtime columnists. So I want to make a public announcement now that is super rare for the media gas bag. That is Dan Levitan. Well, I was wrong about Kirk cousins. Whoa. Minnesota's soak. They saying it's like every fifteen years. Oh, admit he's wrong, and he's doing it for you to sank it in twin cities. Strap it on. Kirk cousins is going to be perfect. There is a bit of a pioneer right? Because he just got in that violent sport, the dorky quarterback of the Vikings and we can say this, right? Some of these guys are a little bit dorky. Andrew luck is dorky. Right? It's is Kirk cousins. Dorky can. Am I saying that even of course you can have you seen how the main grills steaks on social media? I believe he wants to raise his child with an English accent. Do you know what he's doing though? What he trademarked here? Do you guys know what he trademark? No. Yeah, I do what you've like. That man. Goosebumps co-sponsors from God's the highest praise. You can get. He vikes that high vite that he vikes it. I'm sorry, I stepped on your joke. Yeah, he's a bit dorky. I would say ally manning falls in that in that same category is going to work well with those with those skill guys. He he performed as gain them did. I mean, yes based, well, everyone did Sam Bradford, did those those skill guys and that defense. I think we could say right without knowing what the patriots defense is, but assuming it's going to do what it does every year that the Vikings, the second most balanced team in the sport now because Jacksonville's lopsided, right. Green Bay is certainly lopsided. I mean, it's one guy, right? Right. People don't. The saints would be balanced in their defense. You sing in Minnesota. We all know their defense is good. We're all going to say their is top five in the league. When you think of defenses, you think of Jacksonville, you think of them that it's it's a violent defense. That yesterday and that's not Garoppolo. Garoppolo didn't get all that money being turnover machine like, he's that messy, Minnesota. Does that you and then on top of that, they're skilled guys, you can make the argument or the best outside of Pittsburgh there. So now you put Kirk cousins in that, and you ask him to sort of be more than a game manager Beaton b. b. Alex Smith who makes some more of the long plays. And now you give him those skill guys. You got to fight that. Like that's. And so he's a, he's a dorky pioneer and we all know Minnesota's. Good, right. We know this, we know Minnesota's good. We know Jacksonville will go as far as quarterback like we know Jacksonville is going to is going to be a rampage. Yes, we know the Vikings are good. We know Jacksonville's good..

That's that's a fits magic man. It's just a, it's a wider Jameis. Winston experience. You know what? How let me ask you this question, how great would it be? Because I think Ryan Fitzpatrick is harmed here by Harvard. If I gave you just the same playing style and made a journeyman Zell we'd love that dude. Oh yeah. Like if I gave Johnny Manziel the success, you know, I'm putting it in quotes of of Ryan Fitzpatrick this style where, yes, I'm just gonna throw it right into your face and I'm gonna run face. I in your entire offense. My beard is going face. I hear. I don't care. It's third and three. I'm going to get those four yards. "Who really stood out to you and sort of might make a bigger impact and people are thinking right now yeah gary and calmly the first round pick from last year he looked extremely smooth of his covering well he just looked like he's gonna be a really good corner and obviously it's really as really early and but his one game he had last year where he he did play against the jets he looked really good and in training camp he looked like he you know he's healthy and he looks like he's ready to go martavis bryant looks really good obviously there's a little bit of a situation with him right now and nobody really knows what's going on if he's going to spend it or not but he looked really good he he got behind defense a few times nick swisher who the raiders got in trade for jihad wards and the cowboys he made a few plays in tampa who the guy i really liked coming out of north carolina so it'd be interesting to see how he plays he got hit he was in the first first team at the enemy camps so i think that you know he's starting to catch coach's eye and he's going to be a bigger part of the offense an rt looked really good to you know it's early right now and the offense of lines alignment don't have pads so they're a little bit of disadvantaged but aren't just looks like a really really special athlete coming off to the edge yeah so i mean a lot to receive help their davis bryant coming from the steelers switzer coming over from the cowboys so i throw a lot of stepping out of there and of course jordy nelson planet bigger role in that offense as well so i mean in terms of your your fan but also then as an analyst someone who studies the league what are your expectations for the raiders this year i mean if you were sitting here at the end of the season and you said okay the raiders were six and ten or eight or ten and six i mean is there a number where you think you would sit here and say okay yeah it's kind of what i would expect and it'd be a number that you'd say okay well i i would be surprised by this but i think it's it's within the realm of possibility for the raiders this season so as far as number six it's very hard for me to say because i've always been a little optimistically as as as a guy who grew watching the raiders by think with the gruden's offense i think it's gonna take time to click yeah i think that he's gonna try to put a lot of volume in then you know and his playbook is a little similar shanahan's and mcveigh's land we remember you know how matt ryan struggled game play playbook in the first year so i think it's gonna take some time for their car to really master offense and really get offense doing i think offense could be good but i don't think that people should be expecting to raiders to win shoot outs early and a defensive sesame much better i think there is more talent on the raiders defense in give them credit for it and we saw that with the raiders switch to begun a later in the season and a defense a little more organized the hopefully they get gunther system down and they kind of care this team a little bit early on when offense just kind of just learning things obviously cleal mac there would be a big boost i think it's fair to expect the raiders.

"Of jon gruden i mean you're someone who of course i'm sure you've watched him breakdown quarterbacks on espn of the past few years he someone who had a lot of success in the league previously in oakland and in tampa bay i mean what what were these strengths of of john gruden's version of the west coast offense during his first run in oakland in tampa what did his offense is really do well relative to offenses at the time so it's it's hard for me to say what he did in tampa bay and watch a lot of of gruden and tampa bay but you know when i was watching with the raiders obviously i was a bit younger at the time but i i did go back and study some of his offense or what i could whatever film i could find offense back then sure and if you just see that west coast precision that you know walsh is still famous for and i think the raiders got away from that type of precision last year and got a little too loose and you know every everything so precise there's so many things but they are able to play fast same time i think a lot of that with attributed to having a lot of veterans a lot of guys that are really football smart like you know jerry rice tim brown rich again and so that was really impressive see all the multiple things that they could do at still play fast so what about he's steam or his concepts are his language at least from what you've been able to ascertain back from that time with the raiders of even time with tampa bay what about that might seem anachronistic to the nfl in two thousand eighteen yes so i you know the west coast language in general is just really for both in unnecessarily complicated but you know i think sean mcveigh he's a west coast principal guy and he kind of simplified his language a lot last year and i can't say too much about what i saw or heard and training camp but i will say that you know i think things have changed and he's made that language a little simpler i think that the league generals kind of moving on to becoming a little more simpler because they're more geared towards having moving faster and i think that comes from the spread principles i've learnt takeover nfl play faster and be less complicated you know offense as a little more player friendly now and you know that's not that's not speaking for all coaches obvious there's there's a bunch of coach out there just in love with adding volume and trying to do as much as they can aaron kromer who is the rams off it's of line coach coach and he was just an assistant under gruden before said we he he had a quote he said we threw the ball seven hundred sixty times we only use twenty percent of what we have so you can imagine the volume of what we have so you know one of gruden's things part of the dna just wanting to do so much so i hope that maybe he's toned down a little bit and obviously things are different now with the new cb cva rules you don't have as much practice time so maybe that has something to do with how things are a little simpler now and hopefully he could adjust his offense to you know becoming a little more simple little more player friendly so i mean obviously you can't talk a ton about what you saw in training camp but in terms of what you've seen gruden say or you know your thoughts on this matter i mean d does he strike you as someone who is really flexible in terms of of what he's learned over.

"On the bill barnwell show i'm still bill barnwell joining me now to talk about the oakland raiders when we've had a quite exciting off season in case you haven't noticed hiring some people signing some people letting some people go a very interesting set of decisions and joining me to discuss them and discuss the raiders offense for twenty eighteen is someone who's extremely qualified to discuss that matter it's the athletics ted win ted how are you i'm good how are you bill i'm great really happy to have you on we had you on the nickle package earlier this year talking raider stuff and the raiders problems on offense at the time and they ended up continuing to be problems for the entire season which is why the oakland coaching staff might not be there anymore so i wanted to ask you let's start with this in terms of you know someone who was a raiders fan and also a very qualified analyst as well with each of those hats i mean were you were you did you feel like it was appropriate for jack del rio and that staff to be let go and replaced with jon gruden or was it something where you felt like they deserved more time i thought it was appropriate i mean first of all i want to say you know i thought jack del rio did animal job for the raiders he took the job when nobody wanted it yeah and yeah nobody wanted that job when when he was hired he came on he changed a culture there he wasn't a strong schematic coach you know the defenses constantly mess and that was supposed to be his expertise but he did get the pm to a winning record and you know in the playoffs and they haven't been in plano for a long time before that his worst mistake was obviously letting bill must be go for todd downing by thought you know he did what he could and he did his job he turned around the team a little bit and made it respectable but i think for team to take the next step another coach neither have come in so i thought it was appropriate that he was let go all right ten i want to ask you about jon gruden and about that coaching staff but i wanna talk to you.

"He you know not even he'll be thirty years old the season i mean there's certainly the re the risk out you know the reward here's an outweigh any sort of risk shouldn't he perform to the level of biking's think he can do you let me finish with this do you think the super bowl is the only way we'll be sitting here this time next year in san gather kirk cousins move was a good thing like what what sort of what would qualify think as a success dividing spans when it comes to kirk cousins and adding that contract onto their their cap for twenty eighteen i'm just not sure why we have this unrealistic expectation that hey you get to the super bowl this year like or nothing i mean the team super bowl window is very small i agree with that it could be one season it could be two maybe three would be pushing it but if i mentioned earlier we don't have ten players under contract twenty twenty including husbands but anyway i mean i just don't think it's very unrealistic to think this offense will not continue to have some ups and downs here yes you have a more solid quarterback playing that role for the vikings to finally give us franchise instability that position but expecting them to go ten and six i mean if they make the play i mean making the play on their only goal doesn't matter if wildcard doesn't matter if they're the you know if they win the nfc nor their schedule is absolutely brutal the fear the nfc north is so much better than it was a year ago and there's a lot of pieces that have changed elsewhere in the league that they're gonna you know vikings are now the hunted it's gonna make their lives a lot tougher going forward so you know i would i would think that yeah within this range that you sign presents at some point a super bowl has to be within the cards to determine hey was eighty four million dollars worth it or was it not but i don't know if you know just one season and they expect them to go to the super bowl i just don't feel like that's realistic right now i mean the schedule looking at it right now you weren't joking awful i five weeks f enciso at green bay hosting the bills okay it's a little better but at the rams at the eagles to start the first five weeks of the year they're lucky that they have ten days in between that thursday night rams game and eagles game because that is a brutal stretch she'll going coast to coast and in in ten days and our top of that i mean look at look how good those defenses are obviously you know what kind of defense eagles have but we'll get everything all the move with the rams made all these defenses that have countered that's passing league really i mean the face and the two of them in the first five weeks and three of them including if you're gonna include what you know green bay obviously knows what they were doing i with their first two draft picks but if i have to face three of those teams in the first five weeks of this season not easy while they're learning new offense so it'll be very interesting a really exciting team really fascinating team and a lot of ways mc comes to twenty eighteen and beyond courtney cronin thanks for coming on the show today where can people check it out on twitter on espn dot com yeah i might twitter handle is at work in our cronin and then if you go to the vikings tab on espn dot com you can see it on.

"And down run for them they have had to ten when seasons in recent years the adrian peterson year for years ago being one of them and then after those two seasons was isn't great it was five ten in one the year after was peterson was i believe on the simplest for the entire year or almost the entire season and then an eight eight campaign out that was hit by injuries so i mean when it comes to adding kirk cousins when it comes to how the fans are feeling right now about this team do think it's a thing where you know they're almost sort of tempered about last year success on a little anxious about what's going to come next or you think adding cousins and how good that team was last year has everyone excited for a possible super bowl run this year what i've learned in my very short time in minnesota i got here last august to cover the team for my first year as if you mentioned the word supra poll at any point before february fourth or whatever date the games actually being played you will definitely get some pushback his team has been spurned in is fan base has been spurned for so many years with more super bowl losses and you know one game away from it last year just a true monument collapse in philadelphia i think there is some trepidation with cousins just for the fact that people don't really know that much better than case keenum is he a cop ten quarterback is that what you need to get this team to to the to the you know the pinnacle of your sport when you have the number one defense in fell and i think that certainly helps going through there's going to be ups and downs it's not going to be a steam with twelve and four season book your ticket to atlanta for you know super bowl fifty three i think there will be some growing pains kirk cousins you know continues to process their this new offense and learn this new scheme and a coach that i you know veterans coach i spoken with earlier the fast and said it's a lot easier when you're when you're installing a new offense whether it's moving on from one coordinator to another it's a lot easier for just a coordinator stepping in and it's not as easy when you have a coordinator and a quarterbacks nothing into new situation when those to you know are you're you know you're kidding your queen latifah's that's gonna make difficult and because most more difficult on cousins than anything else so there is there is that sense that hey they finally have the missing piece with their quarterback they paid a lot of money the obviously believe you can do it that's you know the vikings you know if you're looking at the financials but i still think there is some trepidation that how much better is this guy they case keenum and if you see came them having any relatives except what cousins having or more you're going to have folks looking at the situation thinking hey maybe they overpaid per quarterback maybe they should have just had keenum or kept him you know signing into shortterm another short term deal in the off season but you know the market commanded this this is what this is what you had to do guys look cousins never come billable on the free on the free market ever except for drew brees and peyton manning both coming off injury he's healthy.

"The year he's had last year and to some extent your before and if he plays at that level for another year we have okay well this is what wide receivers who produces much get paid you know there there's a really sort of simple correlation there it's you you get this many art you know you are this productive over this amount of years you're going to get this amount of money with anthony barr i mean there's just the his obviously he has a huge impact on the field no one saying that but his numbers aren't really there this is the guy who had four sacks a rookie and has had six and a half over the ensuing three years one interception over the course of his career in minnesota during the regular season no fourth fumbles last year after racking up six over the previous three years do you think it's important for him to have a not only a successful twenty thousand seater that maybe productive twenty eight thousand season where he does sort of fill up the statute absolutely i mean we expect deal to get done with his team just with the way that they've done it in the past you know early training camp middle you know beginning training camp for training camp i'm not sure that there's going to be anything just given the type of players that they're trying to sign and what's going to happen the next few weeks i wouldn't be surprised this drags into training camp or even further beyond that it's interesting 'cause this spring bill they they were playing bar outside more and what we were able to be little bit not as the more so three day mini camp they had in june and enrich film and talked about the defensive line rotation that's something that you know philly obviously had jacksonville have it the vikings want that as well so maybe you do play ball off the edge and send him into get quarterback and maybe that increases his value because it will certainly increase what he's doing on the field and maybe that translates to statistics you know in advance indicate that they don't want to really do this right now they wanna play this thing out or even if they wanted signed diggers 'cause they're i mean i think a lot of people come to the foregone conclusion that bar staying regardless because that's one of my members core players it might not be but you still have the franchise had available i think that's the best thing you could have possibly done with getting hundred on that frees you know that you know certainly we're going to do something to try to keep in pass rushers or premium so if you didn't find him now you'd definitely would use the franchise tag on him but maybe that becomes the option for anthony barr after the season if he does have you know indeed a very productive year so obviously whether they signed bar was they signed digs whether they signed both and there's a lot of players getting raises over the course of this one or two year stretch and they did just send kirk cousins to i believe a three year he made again a big number guaranteed somewhere in the eighties which is a big number big cap number for sure so and there's not really much flexibility in terms of that that can't figure that the vikings can really do in terms of creating space which can normally do with the five or six year quarterback contract you can create some cap space you can't do that with kirk cousins contracts so is there a guy or two on the roster who think you know even if he's a core part of this team right now might be on the bubble when it comes to the twenty nine hundred offseason or even possibly the twenty twenty off season just for cap raisins in terms of restructuring they're going to have to do something with kyle rudolph's ideal next year and seven point six million dollar catch it which is going to be thirty years old he's getting up there you know in his prime right now but as those years start to start to get up there even more with the biking his whole career i would i could see that number dropping and then asking him to.

"Of course still several players to come you sort of alluded to that there's three really young players who are coming up over the next two years to find digs anthony barr believe this off season and then trae wayne's next year you add you know sheldon richardson who signed here in a one year deal is going to be a free agent after the season cal rudolph a veteran player finishing up his second contract i believe next year a lot of players who are gonna be valuable pieces you would assume of the vikings over the next several seasons if they're around coming up for free agency over the next few years and he brought up anthony barr it seems like he might be the one who the vikings might be willing to sacrifice assigned the others is that true or is there someone else on that list you think is more likely to not have a longterm future in minnesota it time to talk to you i mean there's several sources i've talked to who thing big will be bad men out and then on the flip side you can see it as far being the odd man out and i think the case was bar is that they drafted him to be a four three linebacker that's what he's you know that's what he was two years they did not draft him to rush the passer but in terms of the contract negotiations you might be looking at it and saying hey well you don't have to stack numbers to justify potentially you know thirteen million dollar deal you know a yearly salary or you know trying to get him in that range i don't know how much less he's gonna go for then twelve million thirteen million i think more reasonable number and i and i spoke with jason fitz gerald over it over the cap i've been article kind of breaking this whole situation down is incredibly helpful kinda crunching numbers but one thing that we were talking about it where you know the browns and the jags kind of paid a higher price for lesser players who kind of have that similar type role and you know just the way that shifted the market it might tell barn is representation hey we're not gonna take any less than twelve or thirteen million but twelve twelve eleven five is probably the reasonable number here to inspect for bar in a team friendly deal would put him at about ten million a year he really does want to stay here in minnesota and kind of like the neo hundred you know get it over quickly and just take take care of it and then they would be able to probably have more cats ability for the coming years with you know von big but i think you know mike zimmer loves his defense of guys this is somebody that he's you know really stood on the table for the last few years i'd be very hard pressed to see them not trying everything they can to keep him here and then potentially bigs could be the odd man out i mean either way he moves something if you're not able to retain both but as we heard film and say last week which was the first time i'd heard him publicly say they're actively in conflict both agents to try to keep both players not just the hey yeah we'll see i mean this is our goal we want to keep those barn digs they wanna keep the core of their team together as you know my colleague field yates pointed out recently they've got ten players under contract through twenty twenty that your super bowl window right there and if you can get to more in there with barin did you're in a good spot if you try to keep them then you're probably not very active in free agency which is fine but it could hurt you in areas like you know i don't i don't sheldon richardson will be here next year he took a his deal was very calculated take the one year eight million dollar deal undergo bed on himself so it could make regis be tricky in that aspect but hey if you keep the quarter of your roster together and you perform last year and thirteen and three seasons good things or on the horizon yeah i mean it's a good problem to have certainly you know deciding between two young pro bowl caliber players i guess the tough part though like you sort of alluded to is that you know it digs assuming he has another like.

"Nineteen is coming to fruition and then an end so that's kind of what i meant by that but and you know something i talked about in the review the kind of bulbous reviews like despite my itchiness wariness of the holik marvel dominance in and being fed nineteen movies is that i liked it having a sense of like daniela like that like we're about to kind of finish this and until i enjoyed the movie because it was like oh we're finally getting somewhere where you know we're feeling we've been concentrating water for nineteen movies and now we're we're writing nineteen nineteen nineteen one nine one lesson twenty yeah we're getting to twentieth summer it actually day new mall does it actually starting to cliffhanger at the end of this one that'll be resolved in the next one potentially in captain marvel which will be the twenty first movie that comes out in march before part two of ten years from now near like the hundred fifty yeah i'm gonna feel so stupid riches right it's not exactly a secret we had our marble cover story last year can you were in by joing aroma zone run by by cam vike was like this is like you know the marble as famously has these phases these little chunks of movies that they do that usually end with an inventor's movie he's like this is a wrap up of the whole first part like this is it and where we where we pivot to next which they're being intentionally sort of oblique about i think to try to preserve some of the surprise of like cou might not survive all of this is going to be different marvel the marvel cinematic universe is not going to look like it has looked for the past nineteen movies going forward or at least after the twenty second movie which is of interest for untitled.
