"People were like, he's obviously drawing contact and getting an end one. And it's like, what? That seems more likely to you than him hitting a wide open three? And if you rewatch the play which I've done dozens of times and every time, to be honest with you, I think it's going in. Because I'm sick in the head. It's like Horford's backpedaling. Jaylen Brown is looking at Victor Oladipo who I want to talk about a little more later on. He's on the weak side. Jalen's kind of ignoring him. Jalen is like, I am ready to just express into the if Jimmy Butler is gonna put the ball on the floor. Tatum Tatum is practically hugging spruce. I mean, it's like, I just wanted to talk about this at the top because I was like you know what, you know what I love about that play, by the way? About the Celtics, is if you think back to the literally the first game of the playoffs that they played when the Celtics had that scramble situation at the end. And the nets just completely botched it defensively. Now granted, there was a little bit more movement a little bit more confusion on that play. But you see the difference between a team that's actually a team and built their habits and knows what they want to do. Where Tatum is like, I'm taking out the shooter. I'm not even taking a step away from him or if it's like, I'm defending the rim. Jaylen brown's like, this is my guy, but I know I have to help if there's a drive. That is what has happened when you have a team that builds habits that actually plays together. That's actually on a string defensively that you in fact can play good transition defense in a moment like that. So, okay, let's backtrack a little bit. The last four minutes are fascinating. The Celtics, I thought they got really good shots for the most part. Every possession I rewatched the last four minutes. They were up 13. Four minutes to go. And they end up almost going down one. They're an inch away from going down one with about 15 seconds to go. It would have been one of the all time collapses in the history of the sport. Which they won and there's no asterisks here, but can I be honest? We're doing the finals review. Those last four minutes are so ingrained in my head that I'm like lower on Boston than I would have been had they just simply won that game normally. It was crazy. So they were up 13, I think, with a little over four minutes to go..

"You're at home, you're at home for a game 7. You'll have your, you know, obviously the crowd behind you, the Celtics, you've put some doubt in their minds for sure. Game 7s, by the way, history of game 7s in the NBA. Only 34 road wins out of a 145 game 7. So that's 23% for the road team. Game seven's in Conference Finals. There have been 25 the road team has won 8 of those, so that's 32% actually higher in the Conference Finals than in all rounds combined. So the pressure is clearly on the Celtics, but the Celtics also, I think, have better health. I think that's clear. And then the heat did expend every ounce they had just to extend the series. So I mean, that is the absolutely the biggest concern manics. Can Jimmy does Jimmy have to have another 40 point type of game where he shoots 29 times something that you very, very rarely see from him. And if it's not that, then where are you going? I don't think you're going to see a 30 point game from Kyle Lowry. I don't know if we're going to get some miracle comeback from Tyler hero for game 7. I don't know if Victor Oladipo can summon his Indiana all star form for this game. There are a team that has been relying for the most part on just being a great ensemble all season with, again, no one dominant force who leads the way night after night. It is different guys every night, different combinations of guys. They are the classic better than the sum of their parts kind of roster. And in a game 7, I think you feel more secure if you're say the Celtics and you know, you know what? We're just gonna hand it Jayson Tatum. Jason, if you gotta take 25 30 shots, go for it. Jaylen Brown, you gotta take 2025 shots, go for it. You're gonna ride your best guys, I think at a time like this. And we know a game 7s two can get awfully ugly, right? They slow down grind, it gets physical, guys are tight, they miss shots, turnovers, it can get really muddy. Which, you know, I think the heat would say favors them because that's kind of their style anyway. So where all that balances out, Chris, I don't know. I think it'll take case like this. I'm leaning home team, but I'm leaning heat only or with the caveat that I don't know if they've got anything left with 48 hours between games. The Celtics sucked in game 6, like from top to bottom, they were bad. Jayson Tatum had 30 points and shot a really high percentage from the field and from three, but he attempted one shot in the fourth quarter. That's mind boggling. Jayson Tatum should not be attempting fewer shots than jaylen Brown. He should not be attempting the same number of shots as Marcus smart. He needs to be at 20 shots or more in this game 7 for the Celtics to have a chance to win. Boston obviously has to keep its turnovers numbers down. That wasn't that wasn't a huge problem in game 6..

"I just don't like the heat though. He never liked the heat. The beginning of the playoffs though. What in this game? 1718 points. 18. You just look at it. Bam, zero in this game. But you can barely notice he was out there. And Victor Oladipo is doing all your scoring 16 of your first 26, and you just sitting there with 46 midway through the game. No one really wants the ball. No one's making any shots. You're just on this massive well of the static game. Zero for 14. And I just look at their offense and I'm like, all right, they'll hit some shots sometimes. You'll get a good butler game here. There you got your one good bam game out of the first four here. And it just doesn't seem like there's much of a ceiling to that heat offense. Like they'll have some good nights, their defense can rock you in certain spots, but the Celtics offensive ceiling as you saw here was just smiles and miles beyond what the heat can be on their best night. Now I can't disrespect them because every time I do it, they come back and just punch you across the face. With that Gritty effort, but I just don't get it. I just don't get it. I'm just happy. You guys get it? Are you seeing someone in there? I get it. I mean, Bobby, I'm surprised you were saying that. I don't really get it. Because after tonight, but I get what you're saying, but you have to think about how pretty much someone you didn't expect to step up has done that every game for the Miami Heat. The other night it was Kyle Lowry. You didn't think you would even see Kyle Lowry in his early in the series. But he made it. They've done a big deal. Exactly. You said this to rod in 6 hours later. He had the best game of his postseason. You know? The other night, what was the game one when they went crazy? And they knocked out things and a big way. Tyler hero going off. I mean, that could happen again. I mean, that's the thing about this Miami Heat team. We've been saying this in the series. I mean, there are deeper than the Celtics. Doesn't mean they're more talented, but they're definitely deeper, so they have guys that can not say it, right? But it's not just that. It's not it though. That's not just it bob, because you don't know how bad the response. Is he the old band all over again? You know what I mean? Like, where did that 30 point or whatever? What did that he was double double performance come from, you know? It couldn't come back again. You know, this is a long series. There's only two two. It's not like if something's like Miami's on the brink of elimination, that would be a different scenario for these guys. You know, I still have a chance. I feel like it's the chances of winning this series, but again, that's the thing about this series of every game that's been a while car. It's been a curveball. You know? I agree. I agree with you on that, Joe Slade, but it's not because of the heat. I'm worried about the Celtics house. I mean, you just see rob laboring around out there. Well, that's another curveball. Smart, you don't feel free. Everybody looks hurt, though, both sides right now. That's true. Yeah, but this defense looks very different when rob's not out there. It's obviously. I mean, I don't have to I'm pretty just acquired. I'm telling John this, but would you say he was what percent would.

"We have a couple other questions, but they're so they're so evergreen and I might want to hold them because my brain is so frazzled right now. And I don't really expecting that, huh? No, that kind of came out of nowhere. I wasn't ready to talk about the heat. They've been on my mind, of course, because I am going to watch that game tonight, I think, or at least the first half. And hopefully it'll be a blowout, but it won't. There's a something extinct. Listen, like I said, this is the kind of game Boston should win easily, you know what I mean? Please stop saying that. Please. Just stop saying that. I don't like hearing it. Yeah, man, they just. They've been a strange team. You mentioned that closing 5. I do think that's that's the lineup they're gonna have to win with. Like you said it hasn't played much. You just look at other teams around the league. The real contenders in my opinion, like every team has that one lineup that's like a 1213 14 net rating. They don't play it all the time, but they go to it when they win it's crunch time when they need the win when they need to pull it out. The great teams have that lineup, the heater expecting that 5 to be their lineup, but they haven't proven it to be that yet. A wild card in all of this and there's just I have truly not a single idea of what to expect as Victor Oladipo. Because if he's like 75% of all star Oladipo and you can close with him, to me, that is really a huge wild card for their season, but we've known anyone who's gonna be back, let alone, you know, what are you using to look like on the floor, but yeah, I just am a little they've been so reliant on threes in a way that specifically corner threes, which are harder to generate in the playoffs. Exactly. And yeah, it's just going to be it's going to be very interesting and I do think that last year's series gets a buck not to get into bubble talk or whatever, but I think there were more kind of. Last year's playoffs just had stranger results I thought than the bubble, frankly. Or last season, I think was just had so many more variables in it than the ones before. The bubble is one big variable, but last year was players returning from COVID and empty arenas or full arenas and blah, whatever. We don't need to litigate that. But my point is, as much as I am not necessarily worried about how that first run series against the bucks went, there's something we said about the way they defended Jimmy the way they defended bam basically daring them to shoot from the mid range and the heat frankly not able to capitalize..

It was different levels of of embracing it. But it was because Phil had one previously. So it is. It is not a you know, A guy who knows a lot more about the inner workings of this is Ryan Hollins 10 Year NBA vet. And, of course, he's got the opinionated seven footers podcast. Follow him on Twitter at The Ryan Hollins. Um right, let let's start in Nola. If you're David Griffin, How do you try and make it work with iron? Well, you got to bring him in somewhat. I know he's young in in the this hiring process, You know, he's got to feel comfortable in the next head coach that you bring in. You has got to be someone who can relate to him who can speak to him? But also isn't going to just give him his way and let this be his eye on the show. I played in situations where I knew the Star player had more control than the head coach, and it was ugly. It was ugly. We weren't a good team. It didn't work out. I'm not going to name no names. I'm just leave that out there for you guys. It didn't work out and I've been in situations where the head coach had respect and it's our player new now to do what he needed to do. But Zion Williamson Has to learn how to be a superstar. He got superstars like talent. He's I think he's over exceeded at least my expectations and many of our expectations, but he's still in the custom like hey, kind of what are you In this league, and to me, it's no gosh darn excuse anywhere on anybody's planet that they couldn't get. The 10th seed are better in the Western Conference with two all stars on the same team. I don't need to go down that road, but ultimately he needs a coach who can get them in line. And ultimately, I love the idea of a former player or someone who can talk that talk because you've got to be able to relate to your players, and you've got one job as head coach in the NBA. Relate to your players. Don't know Ryan. It sounds like you're pinning some of those struggles on Zion. I mean, he was the best post scorer in the NBA This year. He's basically shattered all records teenager they win because the roster stinks. Why couldn't they win? David Griffin put together a garbage roster. Garbage is harsh. These guys are professionals and Abram is a total. Brandon Ingram is garbage. Brandon Ingram is a good scorer. That's what Brandon Ingram, Miss. He's a good story is a good number three. They paid him like he's the number one or two. He's a very good score. Very good. Very He's not many Durant, but he's not okay. Their roster they don't play any defense can't get through the 10th spot. Stop it. Don't do that. Don't do Don't do that. So, so none of this falls on the shoulders of Van Gundy and Griffin. You're putting it all on Zion. No, some of it. Some of it is, But Ryan saying is like look Some of what Stan Van Gundy wanted them to do is still going to be a problem matter who's the coach stand again. He wanted to play defense. They don't play defense. Nobody in the NBA plays defense is not the best offensive, always in the history of the Westbrook alone can get you to the playoffs. Maybe. Well, what? Russell Westbrook alone. The word breaker. Lively. Bill was an all NBA player. Ryan, stop. He was an all NBA player. This year. It was the east and he had he had Brad West. Westbrook didn't do that in the West it okay. See once Kevin Durant left. Don't do that with me. Let's not talk. Russell Westbrook couldn't do that. At home. He had Victor Oladipo and Victor Oladipo Niva was it was a championship caliber team. That you you. You took him out. And he like what we do. What do we do it? Well, I don't know how we we veered off, of course. Um, okay, so I I agree with you on talk like I think that's the trend that you're seeing in the NBA, right guys. That guys that are Tyler guys that are Steve Nash guys that are in their forties. Played or Jamal Mosley relatable. That guy's the the The old NBA coach. Thing is kind of tired, kind of kind of kind of going away. Who's the guy in New Orleans? Is it Is it Fred Vincent, is that who they elevate? I don't know about that. Chauncey Billups. Think you got it. You got to go after you know, Obviously, it's looking like Jason Kidd is off the market. Maybe maybe the right price may sway him a chancy Billups. There's a number of guys you gotta, you know, Fizzle of Fizdale. Maybe it doesn't have to be a form of big time Probe, You know, maybe an assistant relatable assistant there. So I I'm not clear. I mean, shoot Sam to self. You know, I don't know why people haven't thrown money at sandcastle yet. We saw how excellent he was with shake Childress Alexander job. All you know, outside of the injuries hadn't really played as well as basketball. As since you know. He was with Sam Cassell kind of tutoring and mentoring him. I'm seeing his growth. He's going to have someone that that develops, but it's not. You know, you got to talk to talk. Doug Doug, your former player. You know what the talk is?.

The defending Eastern Conference champs. No question. It doesn't matter they could get to the play in game. And still have a shot to make a run. But they're going to get healthy. They'll get their guys back and this will be a team. They're so well coached. They play great defense on a nightly basis, clean up their offense. "Start with the blazers any rockets. The first game of the tnt double header on thursday houston is a team. I find it hard not to cheer for. I'm in the corner of john. Wall demarcus cousins and victor oladipo may because they suffered huge injuries in the past major surgeries. And i'm an empathy guy. I wanna see them recover. I wanna see them fight battle. Get back to their old sells like john wall said after the game everybody on this roster has something to prove. Those three guys have been cast off by the role teams. It's a good story but at the same time they have suffered major injuries. They've got a guy on their roster. Who's young spry and should be dominating. The league at the center spot christian would is playing well this year but i think he should be featured a little bit more. He only had twelve shots against the portland. Trailblazers that usage rate should be. Hi you're he. Is that good now. The rockets won this game. They're down twenty early to the blazers. They came back the blazers shooting because they love to shoot their last in the league in points in the paint. The shooting almost overcame their defensive. Problems they just allow too many buckets. The rockets have full strength though. Should have beat this blazers team up bad c. J. mecom still out. He's out for at least a couple more weeks. Yousef nurkic also out for the blazers. I in this game shouldn't have gone down to the wire i'm sure. Tnt would beg to differ with that. They had a game. Go down to the wire. Answering the massive questions driving this James Harden trade
"James harden wanted out of houston and finally got his wish. The brooklyn nets acquired harden from the houston rockets. And a seven player. Fourteen deal dramatically altered. Victor oladipo from the pacers horde and i mean a future first round fix from the nets houston gets four unprotected first round picks and also in another. Do four first round swap picks. So we'll keep an eye on that also the deal has far reaching ripple effects because the number of players involved and also the magnitude of hardens franchise changing ability. Now the big question. Here in this deal is. These are three outstanding players. Three of the top players in the nba. How do you blend their talents. How do you keep their egos happy when you've got three people that want the ball. It's not true that brooklyn has asked the nba if they can play with three basketball's gave so it'll be fascinating to watch and see how this develops.

"And I think that using carrots in a deal like this made a lot of sense. I am something of a believer in Jeff Green actually, like I think he was really good for Houston last year in the playoffs. Like I think people are kind of forgetting that based off of But Jeff Green the totality of his career, especially early on where he wasn't quite the some of what his athletic Parts would be he's kind of settled in really nicely is like being a fifth option on the court who doesn't try to do too much. You knocks down open threes and is a big physical body who teams can use defensively and he has that little bit of synergy. I would imagine from having to deal with James Harden previously defensively sure. He's going to know where he gets to be defensively on the court to cover for hard and he's going to be able to kind of help Katie and Kyrie and all those guys figure out. Hey, this is where James is going to fuk up. You know what I mean. Yeah. I think that's fair. I guess my hesitation there. I do agree with you. Jeff Green was very good for Houston last year and he's been pretty good this year. It's just there is such a long sample of relying on Jeff Green and that not really working out and that's kind of why I'm a little skeptical of relying on him to take in either bigger role now. So maybe that's just something that I have to work through. Like I do think you make a fair case. I think Jeff Green is going to help a lot. And as you mentioned as we talk about the playoff matchups, you know in Brooklyn face in Miami or something and Miami's hand also given DeAndre Jordan trouble. They can slide in Jeff Green at the five bam. Adebayo has improved but I'm still I still don't think he's at the point to where he is dead. Number one option on offense to where he's going to you know, he's going to address 2225 consistently and kind of threatened Jeff Green in that way going getting downhill. I think they could probably survive having a mobile guide light green defending him. So I I agree with you. I am just a little reluctant to do so just because of the jet printer Richard off, but I definitely get where you're coming from. Yeah and like yeah Landry shamet has been terrible this year. I still think laser shama can shoot at least like I know he's shooting 30% from 3 or whatever wage. I think that'll turn TLC like has actually been useful at times this year as well. They have enough options and plus this is going to be like the premier buyout destination. I think now home so I'm kind of into it. Like I'm just saying like I'm actually a little bit into the way that this could work. Let's move to the other two teams in this deal because I find them interesting Indiana box essentially moves Victor Oladipo for Caris LeVert. I thought there was no way that the Pacers were going to get more than like a mid-to-late first-round pick for Victor Oladipo and instead Caris LeVert who I think is well worth like multiple first-round picks like a lottery pick, you know late first like I am a big Caris LeVert fan he continues to get better every single year. I I'm still in that Indiana was able to do this. I think Levert is going to be a perfect fit next to Malcolm Brogdon..

"The Brooklyn Nets are acquiring Houston's James Harden in a blockbuster deal. They were just the tongue and get this deal done. This is a Brooklyn organization that is all in right now I see this being first of all, insanely volatile thing will not be without its challenges. As far as I'm concerned, it's finals of bust. I love the trade because it makes it easier for me to hate the Nets even more. How about that? For years and years, This team had the lowest TV ratings in the entire NBA. They were living in the shadow of the Knicks, and they have busted out in a gigantic way. Now All they have to do is how to figure out how three guys used to having the ball in their hands are all going to share. One ball. Incredible deal for teams. Four first round picks, trade swamps, Everything complicated, fascinating. The man who broke the story alongside our Ramona Shelburne, of course, his words the NBA's best insider, and he joins us this morning on the Goodyear hotline. Adrian could just sort of take us through how all of this came together. Really remember Zubin At the very beginning. It was Kevin Durant and James Harden in the offseason who are playing in L. A talked about the idea of playing together, and that's when James Harden Told Houston that he wanted trade he wanted out and it took until really the last several days for talks to start escalating. And you know, Houston did a good job of making clear they had a price. That they wanted, certainly and draft compensation to be met, and ultimately, the Nets got there by finding a third team. Initially, Cleveland who sent one of their first round picks off S so they could pick up Jared Allen and Taurean Prince. You know that Get them another quality first to Houston, and ultimately that helped get it over the finish line. And I think once Houston found a taker for Caris Levert made another deal with Indiana to pick up Victor Oladipo is part of the four way trade it was agreed upon yesterday. How close to the sixes come to getting harden. I mean, ultimately, I think the best player available, too. The Rockets in the deal was Ben Simmons. If you want to look at whether they would keep him or look at his trade value, and I do think that's a part of it for the Rockets. Even bringing in Victor Oladipo is what might his trade value be because they could move him again? For the trade deadline. But you know, I think ultimately I think this deal with Brooklyn got them. You know, the multiple first round picks and the pick swaps. I think Essentially, Houston's betting by perhaps the back end of this That the next could be a team that's not is good. And and those picks Watts would benefit Houston but ultimately to listen. I always thought it was gonna be a little difficult. War. Philadelphia to get a deal done. If things were relatively even Daryl Morey left, the Rockets went to Philadelphia and I think owner Tilman Fertitta ultimately The idea of not only allowing Maury to leave, but then the send him James Hearted and the sea. James Harden have great success with the six years of with Daryl Morey. You know, that was gonna be something. That all things being equal. I don't know if the Rockets wanted it to play out that way. Well, now that he's on the move woes with all the protocols and all the different things, and once the deal is finalized, finalized. When will we see him? In the next uniforms. I mean, it's conceivable he could play Saturday. He shot there's no the way the protocols are, as long as he's been testing positive, and he tests every day he's been in this League protocol. Once all the players report and pastor physicals, you know, it's conceivable he could suit up on Saturday against Orlando, although part of it depends on the other players to in this deal reporting Passing their physicals and all being compelled, all becoming eligible to play with their new teams. World. You and I both know Managing those personalities is going to be extremely challenging, especially for a first year. Head coach. Is Steve Nash with that being said, How important is Mike D'Antoni to this team now? Yeah. Mike D'Antoni's history. Certainly with James Harden specifically. And and I know D'Antoni was a big proponent of bringing James Harden in. I think he thought that They would find a way to make it work. He loved coaching James Harden because he knew he'd show up every night to play. He didn't want nights off. Hey, didn't want minute restrictions, and James Harden loves the ball and he brings that to this next team. And certainly there's going to have to be sacrificed among these three. You can't listen, even with two great players, someone's gotta give. But there's no Chris Bosch in this big three, and that's gonna be a challenge for the next. It's hard to imagine who's gonna be the player. That's going to take a significant back seat with three. Someone's going to have to. That's just reality. But listen, I think part of this trade to Jay and I think you know this is It's a bit of an insurance policy for the Nets For Kevin Durant. They want to be able to re sign him on his next deal. They've seen him return at an all world level, and he is the focal point of this franchise. He was for the beginning of that free agent score, bringing he and Carrie Irving. It was always about getting Kevin Durant. And now without really knowing what the future holds for carrier begin them and what his commitments gonna be whether they can really count on him. I think they have solidified Durant's future by having James Harden and I think I re Irving is gonna have to figure out how he fits into that now. Well, what is the internal feeling at this given juncture on Kyrie Irving at the Nets. Well, I think Harry is going to have to explain. He's gonna have to explain really what's transpired here in the last week, and I think that listen ultimately as much as anything and you guys know this. In professional sports teams have to be able to count on you. And if there's issues if there are things that they need to help Kyrie Irving work through, like any organization with a great player, they're going to be there to do that..

"To me would have been the luck of all Luck's timing-wise for for Houston man I mean I know Houston Garden absolutely. If you're into the whole draft pick thing and I'm sure Bob is going to tell us why it's so much better than what the Sixers could offer because of all the draft picks and everything like that. But for me, if you you know, if you're Houston, you've got a live at DeMarcus Cousins. I know he's not like a corner store piece anymore, but you've got Christian would you've got some good players there and if you were able to bring in Simmons and maybe another guy you're going to be competitive and and that to me is I think what Houston would have rather wanted rather than to just do a full rebuild. I mean man, imagine being a Rockets fan right now and what you're used to watching on offense and and you know from that team and now all of a sudden you really don't have much of anything at all to really look, you know, at least long-term with Christian would before we get into it. Let's just break it down just so everybody's got it. Yeah, you're looking at basically the deal to just pull it up entirely to have the whole thing. But the Nets just get hardened, right? Yeah. Well, that's basically it and so it wasn't it wasn't technically a 14 deal. But right there was a strike and trade after the fence. So the Patriots Rockets made a trade after you made a trade after the fact that basic package the Nets get hardened in a second round pick the Rockets get Victor Oladipo from Indiana that got involved here Exum. Is it took pronounce it for me? Kruk's works right corrupt, you said? All right. Yeah, Brad Pitt card for picts waps jany K cabs get Jared Allen and Taurean Prince. I don't know about Levert going to Oliver goes to the Pacers. We I think huge what's funny is my pay off Pacers one. Get better there and they have been great. You look at them. You're probably talking about them being a top-three team in the East already and all probably he probably fits in the mode there as well. So perhaps they could possibly be better than the Celtic play Jimmy Wayne second people you would call you when we take such things I think about basketball game. What am I doing on this show any show? I mean, I don't get it all I mean Cleveland's now got I mean, I mean Masuk same feelings got Drummond Allan nonemaker Javale McGee, like what do you need? All of these seven building big big Celtics 2013 energy the first year of rest and you know, that's they got the Cavaliers have some nice pieces into the future. They they they were the question was whether yep. are going to be a sneaky heart and trade here but instead they choose to just keep piling up those assets and winter here I'm going to go out so I'm going to change my opinion five times on this trade I probably broken off but it's not going to be I think I think both Brooklyn and Houston lost this trade believe it or not I really don't I don't know the Brooklyn is Mark I really do this is Jake final team we're going to be looking at with Brooklyn either okay or Jo sway not going at it with just Jordan write a lot of big and they actually have depth around these guys I don't think they lost.

Did Boston Celtics Overplay Their Hand?
"Boston. Overplay its hand. There were a lot of reports in the hours. Leading up gordon hayward signing that the celtics and the pacers were discussing a sign and trade gary washburn over the boston globe. He suggests that the pacers were willing to throw in miles. Turner the celtics water a miles. Turner plus package whether it's miles. Turner and tj warren or miles turner and victoria depot. That that that celtics package seemed to highly unlikely to be something the pacers would go for. Tj warrant is coming off a monster performance in the bubble and victor oladipo for all his injury issues. last year is still an all star level player. You don't give up to players of that caliber to get a player. That play like gordon hayward frankly so the celtics. They didn't walk away with nothing because they do have tristan thompson. Now they do have jeff teague. But i can see jeff how miles turner would goodness celtics uniform. And the guy is a three point shooting mobile shot-blocking big man. He's not perfect. He's been called soft before there's questions about positional fit. But something tells me brad. Stevens could do well with versatile. Big man who can shoot three pointer. I i just. I wonder if we'll look back on this in a year and wonder if the celtics overplayed their hand because miles turner in addition to all the things i said he's got a reasonable contract by nba standards anyway. Eighteen million dollars per year over the next three. What do you think of that. Do you think there's a chance the celtics overplayed their hands here. I don't know. I don't think so. Crass t taking a slightly different tact on it. Because i wasn't all that a or the whole idea of only getting mile turner back in the deal. I understand everything you just said But the celtics certainly just made a a decision that that's what they were looking for excitement. Lucy gordon hayward elsewhere without getting any say return on. I don't mind that trying to get a little bit more in it. Not working out for them and again. I'm hearing all your points what you're saying about mouse. Turner but that's something maybe dearly age his staff. I'm not saying you're gonna go out and find another mouse. Turner application that production with a couple of different players here and there and whether it ends up being some kind of combination of daniel thais and looking down the bench and seeing what happens off from that point I just wasn't sure that you know. Look indiana if you really wanna gordon hayward i think you had to force them to really make you pay for it and i don't say that do would you come down to it. The pacers were willing to give up that much and so that sure indicates how much that they really wanted. Gordon hayward i'm fine with the celtics student what they did now. You could be ultimately correct. They may regret not adding that kind of player. Especially we get into the playoffs split I agent it is staff are more than willing to let that ride. It see if they can't come up with that kind of a similar player through the course of use it a couple of different players and seeing what they can do at the trade deadline. Yeah they did get tristan thompson. Which is exactly what they need in on that front line. They've got the more athletic up perimeter shooting floor spacing kind of guy. You've got robert williams who is athletic shop locked they didn't have the physical rebounding tough guy. And that's what tristan thompson is brings championship experience to that team which i think will be a valuable addition and jeff teague is fine. He's not a starter anymore. But you're not asking him to basically kemba walker insurance down there in case kennedy's to take time off that knee injury so it wasn't. It wasn't a failure of an off season for boston. I just. I wonder how we look at this this summer. The summer this fall we look at a couple years
