Which Eric Will Win the Missouri Primary?

"Tell me, David drucker, it's primary day. Is Eric Schmidt, who should win in Missouri is a head in Missouri, Eric brightens a disgraced and falling like a rock, is Eric Schmidt going to win. Well, I still keep my eye on Vicky hartzler, even though Trump gave her one of his signature on endorsements. I talked to a lot of people in Missouri over the past few days, Republicans. The only thing they have in common is they want somebody other than Eric brightens to win. And they all told me that data they're looking at reflects the public polling that we can see. And they thought the only thing that might have saved brightens would be a Trump endorsement. And I was checking with some people yesterday when we didn't know which Eric he was going to endorse, we didn't know it was just going to be the generic era. And they said, look, even if it's great as at this point, it will be really tough for him. That endorsement really needed to come in by Friday morning. So Schmidt would seem to be in the pole position here. But I'd keep my eye on hearts for it because you never know.

Is Victoria Jackson Living in a House Divided?

"Hey folks welcome to the Eric metaxas show. I was talking to Victoria Jackson and actually son of a gun. I'm still talking to Victoria Jackson Vicky. I want to go back to the most important part of this conversation. Unfortunately, there is no most important part. It's very confusing. So let's just go back to the first part. How about the idea that you bought a house on a mountaintop? And your husband Paul doesn't want to live there. So does this mean you're going to have two houses and that you're going to be a house divided? A household divided? No, my plan is to slowly persuade him to come there, starting with inviting him over for dinner. Well, if you don't mind my asking, how is this house different from the one that you're living in right now? It's bigger, so I can fit all of my memorabilia. As you can see, I'm running out of space. Right. And my mother died, I have a lot of her stuff, and there was in storage. I said, instead of paying for storage for her stuff, I could put it in a house, which would be making an interest while it's storing it until I can disperse it to the children, et cetera. I have a method to my

Victoria Jackson Always Dreamed of Living on Top of a Mountain

"You bought a house. Where's the house, Vicky? It's nearby on the top of a mountain that I've always dreamed on living on the top of a mountain. And the first time I had to give up my lookout mountain Laurel canyon house to marry my current husband and go always putting him down on the air. And I think that's biblical. I think that's, I think you're right to do that. It's not indicative of some kind of a jezebel spirit as some might say. I think it's perfectly biblical. Please continue to drip like water. Go ahead. I'm not putting down. I'm saying that I gave up my house on the mountaintop for him. And then I had another house on that mountain in actin, California. In 2010, and I had to give that up because my daughter wanted to move back to my home. This is my third attempt of living in the top of a mountain. And I got it. Thank you, lord. I'm so excited. There's only one problem. My husband won't move there. You know, I was going to ask that question as a joke because I thought that's kind of a good joke question to ask Victoria. You're moving to this house. You got this house. Is your husband moving with you? And sure enough, you're telling me he doesn't want to. That's our marriage. But wait a second, Vicky. What right do you have to cavalierly unilaterally make some decision? I'm going to buy a house. And we're going, this is the kind of thing couples typically do together. Well, there's because he said to me, I didn't spend my inheritance on anything I want. So I got his permission. He said, you can buy anything you want. But if you buy that house, I'm not gonna move there. And I said, maybe that's a good idea.

"The moms would be drinking wine. You know it's it's it's an old thing this mommy juice but if there's a young mom listening to this with her a bottle of wine ready for the evening thinking oh you know the I've also helped enough of this. How would you advise her to get started. The first step. I think accepting. You've got a problem and reaching out for help. Those are the beast things off to. It's more practical. Things isn't it. i think. Also if you're questioning if sitting there annual. You're not just throwing the wind back. If you're sitting there and questioning that drink and thinking why am i doing. This won't purposes it. Go in my life anymore. Why can't why can i not stop. Once i stop all of those questions i would say to any mum. It means your asuka curious woman. It took eighteen months to to hear that term into my sobriety. I didn't know it existed but once identified with that it's not as a strong term as being an alcoholic. it doesn't people don't like that label so if you can identify yourself as a sober curious woman so be curious mother it softens the blow a little and you can have a look at that find out about it find out what it is a find out if it relates to you. There's a brilliant book by really warrington. This naked mind by any grace. There's a whole community out the of people who are exactly like you people. He questioned that wine habit not happy about their relationship. How wine is affecting their relationship with their children and just knowing that there are people like you can sometimes be enough. Because i've never heard anyone or seen anyone say that this journey hasn't been worth all that sobriety wasn't good. You never hear people saying that. They would prefer to be drunk and sober. So i think it's a matter of finding people alike. You finding that thing like me and lucy. She found something in me that she needed in a really really low period of her life was to someone that she knew had a life beyond alcohol. And that can just really be the key to change something in your heads and for me. Now you know when they're all cravings or if i was to be trying sobriety in those moments when the kids are in bed and the sun's going down and you've got that moment where you'd normally fill with alcohol might vices is always play the tape forward you know. Is it that one drink milk and a half or to follow into four or five drinks and then make you feel like shit the next stay really. Sit with that thought and go. Is this the right thing for me doing. Having to meet for me to have a glass of wine right now and then just sit with it and then just go and put the bloody cut long because that is going to be so much more beneficial for everybody in the house including the neighbors. Because i know that. I always used to put really loud musical now for a few wines and stuff. Don't sit around the living room which was still do now. I must say but maybe the music isn't quite as loud and have clothes on but really it's about sitting with those feelings and trying to understand them and reaching out for support even if it's just an instagram page on sobriety or a website remained go to my website drug mummy. And the argument often is with so many guns around, the more people that have it, the safe. Everyone is Police actually have been campaigning against this change in the law, which is being driven largely by Republican lawmakers. Democratic Congressman Vicky Goodwin stepped away from the debates of the capital just about an hour ago. Tell us why she's bean talking against the proposals. It's a step backwards and making us less safe here in Texas. We right now require people to have a permit to carry a gun around on the streets and this new law with Allow people to carry their guns without any training. Does this mean suspension of background checks? Because every time there is a gun incident in America, it's the background checks that becomes the focus. If I went into a gun store, I could just buy and walk out good. I you do still have to go through a background check. In some instances, we have a lot of gun shows, particularly here in Texas. And individual sellers can sell again to another individual without having a federal firearms license. But if you went into an academy store, for example, you would still have to go through a background check. So we haven't done away with the background check. There's just a lot of loopholes.

What A Victoria's Secret Spinoff Could Mean For L Brands

"Brands a spinning off. Victoria's secret as a separate company. You might remember that last year almonds was set to sell. Victoria's secret to sycamore partners. For like five hundred something million dollars that fell through once the pandemic had we understand. It was a bad time to make long-term decisions but albertsons still wanted to sell off. Victoria's secret which is not quite as lucrative as the only other brand it's still has in its portfolio bath and body works if you have missed the first seven years of the show. Get you out. Victoria secret wrote on the hyper sexualization train for years until the twenty teams came along and decided like we weren't exactly keen on women being seen only in push. Ross so they have a dealing with some some slumps in revenue over the recent years. Sense the sick more deal fell through. Albertans had a couple of offers to buy. Victoria's secret but they rejected them all because the company thinks victoria secret is worth more than those offers. It's probably worth between four and six billion dollars but al brands decided that offers of like three billion ish just weren't enough so it decided to spin off victoria secret into its own company. It's going to happen later this summer. My question is is this. A good coffee all brands. Is this a good call for. Victoria's secret karn discuss. Yes and yes. I've been waiting for this to happen. Listen a soap. Company was keeping that thing afloat for a long time. Bath and body works was making bank as they should. I've done a lot of research on that company. And i like them but what this means is if they get spun off. They have to do their individual earnings report on their own which means they have to be accountable for all their actions. It cannot rely on another company to keep them going. I think we're gonna see some more accountability with some vicky hush hush

Had been in the works before. Call it oak. Yeah yeah totally so I saw vicki of gosh. I wanna say it was the summer before the new year and She was like look this and it was during the time of the acquisition with her with now unilever. Okay and It just came out of the blue. And i was like well. I'm on contract with dior and on his beauty and you would have to. You know for me to accept this. You have to get me. You know basically me out of my contract and then see yeah. She came back in there like we can. And at this point. I was six years in with your three years. In honest i have such an incredible relationships with brands but i was always able to play with with tasha because they knew my history with vicky. They knew that in both were exclusive. They were non-exclusive able to have my hands with other brands. That were non compete okay so very fortunate to have that opportunity but at that point i was like i kinda. You know it'd be. I would love to get in full time so to speak to really get into product development education. And just kinda slow my roll down.

‘Nomadland’ Wins Big at BAFTA Awards – Complete List of Winners

"Held on Sunday night in London. As well as best film. It also won best director for Chloe Zhao and best actress for Frances McDormand. The BAFTA voting system had been changed this year after complaints that the awards were doing too little to encourage diversity. Here's our arts correspondent been sent out. E think friends part of an American tradition. My dad used to say what's remembered lives. It was no surprise. Nomad Land took the best film of the bastards. Lots of people expected to do the same at the Oscars. Two weeks from now. It's a powerful investigation of the soul of America, with Frances McDormand, superb in the lead role, and her win as best actress was predictable. There was talk of best actor going to the late Chadwick Boseman instead at 83, Sir Anthony Hopkins took it for the father. I don't know what she's cooking up against me, but she's cooking some of them. What's he talking about? That I'm not leaving my flash British Film Academy worked hard to broaden the electorate for this year's awards. That led to more diversity in the nominees. At least there was a lot of admiration for rocks. A realistic story of black British life. I think you should tell someone about young, long. You wouldn't understand. What's the problem? Talk to me. I don't get it. Don't worry for me. You're not. There's such a beautiful work. You have to leave. Get out get out was nothing contrary to what some expected rocks did not take outstanding British film. Its central character is played by Bucky Back Ray, who'd had no acting experience. Her reaction over zoom as she learned she had been chosen as best newcomer was the highlight of the evening. The winner. Off the E Rising Star award is Vicky Bakley. Ready Weeks is a black British director who took the outstanding debut award for his house. How quickly you forget everything we went through to get.

"Banker again and my application. Just scott It in somewhere. So i i ended up going with wells. Fargo young. yeah so then you alone. Could i ask The what was the amount and the in. Yeah saw on five hundred thousand dollar loan. Which i think. Honesty is a little too little for my area. But i tried to be conservative and i could always take out a little more. It's needed and The interest rate was three point three percent for ten years. But the little caveat is construction they charge you seven percent interests and the way they explained that is because i have a loan officer that i communicate with frequently and she Disperses all the payments and cheap supposedly law. And they're like because you have this other person working with you doing work. That's why they increase their interest for that period. Though the person working with you as the general contractor who know it's it's person from wells fargo and basically she authorizes all the treatments. Oh okay and like. I give her forms. She sends it back to me in verses. Everyone so this this is. The person is in different person from my original binker. Okay and then. So how much was your. Was this a bill. Doubt like or did you occupy shell build out so itself reclaims reclaims boyfriend always has like that word reclaims Woodshop in a really nice retail storefronts face in brooklyn and like the northern part of glen and lift. I've walks away which is amazing and Yeah and it's very industrial. Has like high ceilings wooden beams foes brick and the address. What the bill. That was which was. Yeah so. I think it's going to be around. I was floated around. Like two seventy. But there's an allowance of thirty thousand. So might michael over. God's you guys to and then how many op. Steve plan to heaven. So it's gonna be eight opportunities only coming in our three eight opera in the who'd you go with for your equipment. So i went with a smaller company calls m. essel there's located in quizzed and my boyfriend's doesn't He works at about twenty. Different offices is like traveling ended honest and one of the offices he works out he has a really good relationship with with owners and they really recommended them highly in psalm. So that's why i'm working some. It's m and s you said yep and ends astle s dental in. How much did you like spend on equipment. I wanna say like fifty thousand. But not i think fifty thousand. I didn't get. I got forest chairs. I didn't get anything like to over the top. I really wanted ada chairs but literally double the price. So you i just i had to keep my budget a little more narrow. So then what was. Do you have a budget breakdown. Like do you have okay. This is my budget for equipment is in my budget for. It or technology. This is my budget for marketing. Do you have so. The funny thing is wells. Fargo told me to make a budget way in the beginning. But it's nothing like i thought it would be so why house he could tell you 'cause it's hard to know the prices when you haven't talked yet him to give you a quote on i mean i could tell you for icy. I think i'm spending around twenty five thousand for equipment around probably gonna be in total. Let's say like eighty thousand short. But i don't really have like a set budget yet. We can presume who'd you go with for it. I went with a smaller company again to a recommendation from my boyfriend. It's it's actually a really that because he works in so many offices people's brains it's called soft fusion. It soft fusion id okayed. They sound familiar. But possibly gotcha gotcha okay saw fusion And then right now. Have you started hiring employees interviewing or anything or no think it's too early. That's what i personally think. I feel like if i start hiring now. It's it's still three months out. So i dunno i. I was thinking of putting ads out in A april amend. Actually one of the associates workless in my other office. She says that she has a friend that lives in brooklyn and she's actually executives from another country but she's an assistant which i think was amazing so she gave me her phone number south. I'm planning on connecting with her soon. How many employees to have at the beginning. I would say three. I think wanting front desk and to assistance. Like to partisans in the reason i want to is god forbid one of them has a sick day or something. I don't wanna be without assistant. So i think i prefer to have two part time. Yeah has it been pretty tough. Maybe maybe your boyfriend minority your associates or maybe but it's been tough like finding people leave kurd. I've heard yes yes. I've heard that even in my own offices we haven't we haven't hired new front desk in months and we need one. Apparently like there's no one out there. That's what that's what i've heard. I've heard the candidates elections really rough right now and Let's definitely worries me a little. But now we'll see and then who'd you go with for like architect and construction things like that so Actually i have a fun story about this I googled like dental a construction company in new york city and i found this major. Dental construction firm called beacon so I contact the non. They seemed great and they gave me a cool for construction for five hundred thousand dollars and i was like honestly. That's the size of my loan. Like there's no way. I could afford that so then i reached out semi wells fargo bank guard on my cage. You have any recommendations for dental architects. And he gave me a name. His name is james shy and that's working with now and they were able to gaming almost half the cost. It's pretty crazy so you really have to like do your research. Yeah more like asking for like you. Asking other people right like network. Yeah that's kind of. That's kind of a bus way. How construction been so far for you. Knock on wood. 'cause i've heard it's a nightmare for some people but might might architect was able to what we did was we tried some push out signing the lease so that i could get permits Permits take awhile so right. After i signed the lease started construction week. And a half. After which i heard like the not common and I haven't had any issues. Really knock.

"vicky " Discussed on The Dental Marketer

"Going to take with my two. There was only one office out of the ten had good systems in place. The one i'm currently at has horrible systems so like on one picking up the phones. I checked people out like there's this front desk is always saying like it's it's a disaster But i feel like it's taught me how to you know it alone if i could do this era like why don't unders- opened my own practice. That was kind of the philosophy. But there was one fact this where i work in manhattan and they had their systems like down path. I called dentist a nazi dentist. It was just like down pox on. It was just extremely organized. Would leave posted at the door. There was an exam. You communicate with whole office through this google chat system so like if i was checking out the front desk google chances thumb and when i first started he didn't like a emanuel which i've never been given root canals do this or how to sell night guards had a biking created all these vandals and i thought that was really cool because it gets people on the same page and my current socio chip you just ring you done walks in there are kind of just like loss so to speak so i think that's that's really good to have like systems in place wanting new team member joins on to kind of train them. I think it's really important so like on boarding protocol. Yeah yeah they had onboarding for calls was great because something super importantly you know what i mean. We really don't think about so much. Let's get an associate's ship so he can take the load or she to upload of us and and also what happens is Face for five years and i. I'm kind of like the lead associate. And we've had more Associates joyner on and on certain associates. Obviously treatment plant differently. I feel like i'm more on the conservative side aman. I ended up seeing other associates patients and like the other associated treatment. Pramod twenty fillings. Which i don't think are there and he puts me in a difficult situation. Because i'm like. I'm gonna tell this patient known don't have i don't think of any of these feelings but she's going to be like what are you talking about like. Do you guys not work opposing practice. So i think blake's yeah. So i think like just having like the boss having a topical associates in just i'm not saying a certain associated treatments Way but just unafraid. We want to be on the same page. I think is important. How how would you approach. Vicky how would you approach that in the sense if the bosses like it doesn't seem so ethical. He's she this person. Has this many things going on. And you're like i don't see it. How do you approach so suffering happens name multiple times and i'll be like what i'll say is a look at the x. Ray and let's say it's a very very small enter proxima. Lesion will have the patient look at it will be like there is something there but i personally don't think it's big enough to treat at this time and i'll be like you know. dungy's various objectives on. But if you wanna take my more reservoirs the dusty treatise and save this is not there. I don't see it like all all stay. I see it but it's it's more like i'm more conservative than i went and it at this time on typically the patient like i've never had a patient be like wrong. I wanna do this anyways. Where it's it's worked out. Fine doctor ever get mad at you for that so mind. Boss is never present. So i'm the one kind of running the show i would say but it's mostly so it's mostly the associates that i'm telling the associates work that i don't really agree with i. Don't tell them and they're okay with it like it's just a different philosophy you know so. There's no no there's no hard feelings or if the patient really wants i'll be like you know maybe should if it's a really aggressive treatment of maybe. You should see that you were seen before. Like i think. That's a better way to go about it rather than telling them like. I don't agree with any. The patient doesn't listen to the patient came in and saw another associate and then he's coming back again. They don't normally see the same associate throughout the whole treatment process or they normally see just like all contain. Do they try as they try as much as possible to leave you with the same associate but sometimes you know like they can only come in today. So in that scenario that's one a chill with a different associate Okay that's interesting to know and then more you said you. Are you took implant courses. So what were some of the were some of the best implant courses you could okay so the first one i took was worn in mexico with She's implants name is tatyana occurs all. I'm not sure if she's so running the But it was excellent. It really really liked it. It was four days in mexico and I think we placed around eight implants during the course of three days. And the reason. I like that is because it wasn't just like place bam bam bam. They had a cbc t The instructor actually showed with you. Know like really give you guidance. Because i've heard a lot of other sources where you just tug tugged implants. And they don't really explain anything to you and then go homing kind of like a little loss. But i didn't feel that way at all of this course. I also took Justin moody's course in parkway and i loved that core still amazing instructors like Wade pilling Just amazing course. Highly highly recommend debts do really really cool people one more took I took an. I guess a mexico and that was actually my least favorite so it was very expensive. Definitely not as much hands on training was very clinical by the material was berry outage like i just wasn't really a big fan so the other two i i liked it was outdated material than it was at the same time like. Oh my god i spent this much now. I spent this much. If you want to treat an implant Patient in their facility. The chargers were discounted but the charges were actually more than than they would be my own office so it realistically. I couldn't bring an innocent patient. They're just make sense Okay so now we reached the station of your startup right. And where are you with your start right now. So i think this week. They're installing the ducks work if i said that So they're doing that and Last week deploying so. I signed the lease a little after christmas during the construction as raider. Oh wow so. Within winter you scheduled to be open to the public. My hope is may i. I'm hoping it's like rooms in march march april when she got two more months. So you're like in the needy greedy of okay so bright male who'd you go with for your Who'd you go with your loan. Okay so really interesting I was applying for a loan. When was like august august-september. Bank of america was not giving out. Start up loans at the time because of covid And then i i reached out to las fargo and citizens and citizens do. Do you know citizens. Yes yeah okay. So are we talking to citizens. And i actually thought it was going to go out with ends up like working with him but During the loan process there was like a massive layoffs on citizens. And i never heard from my loan.

"Dr bus aliki aka dr vicky. How's it going really good and you did such a good job buttering my name. So thank you. I appreciate your patients. Call you doctor. Yes yes it just makes it easier for everyone and so the doctor vicky and vicky so before we get into like your start up business and everything like that. Tell us a little bit about your pastor president. How did you get to where you are today share. So i was actually born in. New york in queens. New york parents are greek emigrants so if you know anything about greeks. Dad owns a diner which was like a very typical greek thing I have two other sisters. My oldest sister is in med school. So my parents kinda wanted me to follow her footsteps. But i was working as a dental assistant and i was like. I think i really liked that. So i decided to go to dental route and i went to stony brook dental school. Which is in long island is like a smaller state school. Are you familiar with that. Not at all okay. Yeah so it's like a small school they take thirty nine kids and Yeah i was really lucky because it's state tuition. Unlike you know private school which is in like the five hundred thousand range. It's like a little less than half of that so i didn't graduate as much as other people one so And i had tons of great clinical experience there. I graduated in two thousand fifteen and then i did a one year general practice residency which is actually mandatory new york another states. I'm not sure if it is but in europe it's mandatory. It was really good. It was a hospital based residency so a lot of emergencies. A lot of extractions on the finally got it on my residency. And i've been practicing for five years. And i probably had on at least ten or twelve associates since graduating rich. Yeah which i think is very commenting york So actually the first job ever that that i got it was a greek doctor knows a great. This is gonna be grade relate to me like this is awesome and i actually got fired the first day because he treatment plans like twenty appraisal composites on this fifteen year old kid and i didn't agree with them so i was like you know i'm not gonna do this. I really agree with it. Only c. two and he's like well you know i. I think i told you this already but my practice is a business. And if you don't understand that. I didn't think this is gonna work. So that was like my first exposure to don country. And i was like i was like. Is this what it's like it's crazy. And then since then. I worked at a few other practices which unfortunately have been equally as bad. Like it's just you know. Doing dentistry is unnecessary. You know insurance whose are really low and work so but still it wasn't a good fit man actually six months in six months after i graduated i started working at the practice that i'm now working in I was working there once a week and a fast forward five years. Now there full time and i've been there fulltime for the past two and a half years so right now i'm at one practice. The good thing about this practice. It's a multi specialty practice. But the gp's do mostly everything so Grew canals extractions. And my boss is also very big He places implants like a lot. So he really encouraged me to take some courses. So i've been pleasing plans for the last like three and a half years so i think that was a good skill to have under my belt. Got you until so then. Now that's where do you plan in the future to maybe do your own startup or yeah so i am doing my own. Start up right now. Oh wow okay so. I'll tell you a little bit about it. So basically this startup. I feel like all happened due to covid. I was working like five and a half six days a week up until like crazy. I've always been working really hard an colder and they're like you can't work anymore like you're you're just to collect unemployment and my boss was still working like seeing emergencies but i just felt for the first time. I'm like what i'm what am i doing. Might my job. Security is not my own and it made me feel like really vulnerables so That's when i started looking for startups like that's how it happened. At first i looked at a practice acquisition and it was an older doctor he wanted retired judical but the deal fell through and then My boyfriend and i we live. He's actually ended on this and we live. We live in brooklyn together. And you're bike riding on this area when like wow. There's a lot of retail space available and made me call one of the numbers on on the On the storefront i called. I called The commercial space. And i didn't end up going with that one but i went with a commercial space like not far from that so That's kind of how happened through bike ride. Gotcha cool cool wind a little bit. Your parents wanted you to follow your sister's footsteps. What is up with that. Like what she older brothers england with. I noticed that with the older. It's like yeah. They're doing also some very common immigrant mentality like my mom never had a job. My dad works at a diner. And he's like my kids are going to be doctors. You know like they have. That's so that's that's an entirely bus Were they upset or anything like that. By the fact that they're like doing in dentistry or believe it or not. That was a little upset in the beginning but then I think he's talked with your france and he's like i think percentage like a lucrative career. My daughter's the okay so thinks that's what happens. So now he's buried he so happy out into the streets of this cool little bit ending. You were in a general practice residency for one year. That's the that's right and so with that. What is one thing you learn there practicing there. That really really open your eyes and said like this is what i love or oh no. This is where we're going to start doing. I kind of like this or what. What did you learn from there that you still take on today on so it was a very hospital. based residencies. there was like a lot of lot of Root canals extractions emergencies. I think i realized that. I didn't want to be in a super clinical setting because i would see a lot of patients there. I feel like some treatment was compromised. So as much as i learned a lot about root canals on extractions and it became very good clinically. But i think. I realized that i wanted to be in a slightly different mcgrath. Got young not so exactly known things like that which is what right now. That's my current struggle. Where i'm working. I probably see like twenty to thirty patients today. so it's it's just a lot is unsustainable for me but i mean like experience build resilience like you got it. I can so happens gotcha. After that you're doing for about five years he said and then it was at least you were at least at ten associates ships in new york okay. The these associates ships were some systems that you saw whether front or back office or anything like that. That really impressed you. And you're like i'm gonna. I'm gonna i mean everything else but this is the one that i'm.

"Of the dental marketer podcast. I'm your host michael and in this episode. We're speaking with vicky athena sue and she talks to us about how she has been practicing for about five years and she's had at least ten associates ships within those five years in new york so obviously since he's been at this many associate ships. She knows exactly what she wants. And what she doesn't want in her startup. she's learned A lot from this From all these associations we also discussed what implant courses. She's taken or she has taken. What's what's her favorite courses. What are her least courses. And then how when kobe came. That's what she decided to do. Startup exactly right in the middle of kovic. She said you know what. I'm going to pull the trigger and do it and you know some people would maybe be a little bit more Reserve it ever conservative. Say like maybe. I'm gonna wait it out a little bit. See where it goes but she decided to pull the trigger and and do it so listen to the episode to see her thought process behind that we also talked about how a practice acquisition before fell through. Why did it fall through We also discussed her onboarding protocols and how that super important to her and how she treatment plants differently she treated plans a little bit more conservative So definitely learned the thought process and her strategy behind that something. I liked that we discussed this. How do you approach a non ethical boss who wants you to diagnose things that aren't there on the patient. Maybe this happened to you. Maybe you have a non ethical boss or you've had one and you're like how would i have approach to. how do i approach them. And say like hey. I don't think. I don't think this is right. I don't think we should do this because at the same time. You're kind of a little bit worried. You know about your job so we discussed how she did that and how you can do that too. We also discuss how you can get confident fast Especially in your dentistry. If you're just graduating with a key thing you can do to get competent fast in doing a lot of procedures and then one thing i like that mentions is especially with the startup. Process is trust the process. And don't feel the need to nitpick and fix it and we go into that a lot more on what she means. So is without further delay. Here is.

I can help you with that went for a cell phone to Mozza Pull laptops. Turn into a command center. Yes. In the kitchen to Castro in her family, a book vaccine appointments by the hundreds and their central New York community all for total strangers, and for free, we do it. Between lunch dinner. Pretty much all the time to Castro's often up until three in the morning, rapidly refreshing websites for any availabilities. And now my husband cause it. Welcome all you have to be quick because There's 10,000 other people doing probably the same thing. Her husband, Marco, delivering the printed confirmation tickets. She first realized the difficulties in getting an appointment while signing up. Her mother in law board got out fast. After the Castro started helping neighbors. I heard some seniors even say they would get on the computer. They might lose the site they put in Rome, New York and ended up in Rochester and my other dear friend. Got on the phone and the lady said call back at four. She called back and four and the tape said the office is closed to Castro got an appointment in just days for McDowell in her husband on Lee, two of the 25 the to Castro's book on average each day for anyone who asks, including the Petri family. She helped us she helped our neighbors She helped my brother and his wife. Get appointments. She just I don't know how she does it. De Castro's reach has now spanned four counties. People express their gratitude with cards and even home cooked dinners, but to Castro says she's just doing anything possible. To protect her community. So now for the month or you're grounded like we are here. Yes, you've been exploring the United Kingdom. Yes. So in January, I decided to setup a new site about England cuz I actually planned to spend a long time in England this year, which is a bit crazy considering how the years worked out but I set that up in January and then locked down has been a big opportunity to write for it right more for it and build it and in July when I was lifted the numbers were great. And it's yeah the sites doing really well they are in England because I wanted to have a site that was a bit more achievable because my blog I have job. Some incredible adventures and some of them have been very expensive and it was only because for those three years I didn't have a home base that I could afford to do the amazing things that I have done and through breast strips and things but I wanted I wanted to write something that was a bit more that might my friends could do in that I could do in the future and that yeah race it was a bit more achievable. And then this year days out in England have been the thing to do so long. It's been very on Trend really so people want to look it up as it days out in England day out in England. Com. My main blog is Vicky flip flop travels.com. So we're in England where I just found United Kingdom was being the most exciting place. I see you've been camping in the outer Hebrides. Yes. So a few weeks ago me and my friend drove up. I drive I live in Portsmouth and just drive up to the outer Hebrides, which was one of the longest I've ever driven and we decided to go wild camping. But unfortunately we didn't quite have the right equipment and the right 10th, although it was beautiful sunny birth. Is the wind was just ferocious and we couldn't even stand for long enough to put the tent up on the second night because it was quite a high tent and my friend ended up sleeping in the car and I had literally taken a 1000 by packington and so I can sleep in that..

"Could I packed it off that trailer was packed so good. You couldn't even put a fence on it. And I took off two weeks later. I'm on the road and I had everything set up I had found an owner that was selling her house and she was going to own her Finance me. So I literally just had to get here signed on the dotted line. That was it move in dead. Well, nothing went as planned. First of all driving here. I get a blowout. I didn't know that the axle on the trailer was broken. I get a blowout on the ten freeway and I call a tow truck. I had AAA it's a company that comes in and does roadwork assistant, but she can cover my trailer first of all and then the guy gets there and he says it's too heavy we can't lift. Did you change your tire? You're going to have to empty it. We are in the middle of a freeway in the middle of the desert to start emptying. I had a letter in the car. I would have had to bring that door down. Hope that nothing came off and start taking off there was out of the question. So I said no we can't we have to come up with a solution. I said, what about semi trucks? What do you guys do with them? I trust. Oh, well, that's nice. Specialty trailer more money, that's what it meant. So we had to get a semi truck tow truck to lift it that worked out. I gave to Texas and it happens again another blow up again. The axle is broken and I have a pack to the T. So now I'm an expert though. I don't even bother with a little baby trade off drugs I go for the big ones the whole time. I'm talking to this ambassadors and I'm actually thinking more friends. That's how much we're talking. We're taxi and we're talking all the way til I pass state line. I get into Mississippi. She disappears. She stopped returning my calls now mind you because of all these tow trucks. I stuck with 5,000. I bought that trailer I'm down. I am like less than $2,000 now and I get into town and nothing she doesn't respond to a job. And I don't know how you are but I start thinking all this crazy stuff. Oh first it was the battery went dead after a few hours. It wasnt the battery anymore. I'm like, okay, she dropped her off on the toilet. She has her phone on right? I think all this stupid stuff. So I go nice day at a motel nice Motel the next morning. I realize this meeting call me back and now I can't stay here because I'm running out of money. Yeah, so I go and I stay I found this one motel for $187,000. I could buy it for the whole week. I said perfect. There's a reason why it was $187. Mine you I was raised the Italian way. We didn't have much money, but I did not know we didn't have money. We were not raised to living cars. We were not raised, you know to live with bugs so I bought yep. The whole week and as I'm I'm opening my my door, I hear somebody say something about bed bugs. Didn't know what bed bugs were didn't even though but something told me God. I think it was telling me look up Vicky check out what bed bugs out. So I pulled out my phone and I'm checking. Oh my God. I go check in the bad words. You're supposed to check its things were crawling everywhere. The mirror on this room. That was graffiti that they tried to claim but it was embedded in the mirror. It was the nastiest thing ever. So I can't stay there. I have this great idea to stay in the back of my car. Now keep in my life. I moved across country.

"That's great. That's a definite will win. Is a lot of people need help at that. Yeah absolutely I mean the promise of this of this workshop is fully embodying your pricing so that you really understand the full worth of the transformation that you're offering people so that you can you can talk about it and sell it with confidence. It's not necessarily about putting your prices up will have to say so everybody that's gone through, it has put their prices up. Realise the worth of what they have to offer that. I. Look. It's a silly price that I was charging before like I to do that anymore. Well you know especially women you know we have this block about we're not worth very much or that nobody's GonNa pay for my services because I don't know you my serve like I wouldn't pay myself for those services but somebody else paying for your services they they see you totally different way and they're like all this is such a valuable way she started so low for this. This is great. That's when you need 'em. Raise your prices and you know in but if you have a block for doing that and you're not able to do that because you don't give yourself permission, it's it's really hard it really hard to get get your prices up and to fill like Phil Authentic and what you're doing. So I'm so happy that you're doing that and teach women that it will everyone that actually but I mean it's just great what you're doing. Both thank you. Yeah. It's I was working with a cake decorator yesterday and is just little things. You know where we come in and sabotage ourselves. You know she's now I'm working with particularly around just looking at the costings of here ingredients because especially with covid everything is going up and she's also moving into using bid a quality ingredients and yet she had resistance about working out her new ingredients cost so that it would she could charge accordingly. But I just as I said to her, you know do you WanNa. Be The bug and basement you know no name brand cake Baker. More, people actually coming to you because it's a special occasion and they want a high quality product I mean you look at who work and it's beautiful. So the prices should reflect that right? Yeah. Definitely. I mean and you went and. You went. Charging such a low price or something. So beautiful. So yeah, I can I can understand that that you gotta get her patch that says she can afford to stay in business one the also. So the shaking get paid for what she's worth in have good quality clients 'cause they're you know you get the wrong quality clients if you're not charging the right price definitely definitely, and the price is just one of those ways that we can qualify al perfect clients, people who are going to pay on time and show up on time and actually do the work. That's that's really powerful to know we'll Vicky. Thank. You so much for being on the show today if he tells one more time where they were listeners can find you sure it's Vicky Santiago Dot Com. We know if you'd like to not say Kay with me you'll second though be on the poker. Yeah Yeah I got an MBA to today. They will they were that now with no talking you can wear it was dame heather Ra- bats. She's good today. So is that one up Stephanie. One out of a question mark around on the old is unlikely to be an issue for me. So twenty one years in the Orient Take us back then. Why did you join the area? And it's probably Blais. I'd always had an interest in flying anyway but Having gone through university did languages it just felt like a natural progression for me. I I liked discipline. Alight family fail that And it was. It was really interesting when I first started looking at it it at Leeds University it was very much about the family fast. And on the role. Whichever will you came upon second and that I found that really appealing ailing and of course at that stage? I mean we're talking. Join back in one thousand nine hundred four now. I did a lot of sport and it was a platform for doing sport as well as well as traveling and of course it happened languages so it was. It was a combination. I'm considered all three services but burying my my interest in flying as well. The Air Force made more sense. It's to me. And where were you brought up on the world. So you've got and you went to lead university school in whereas it yes I I did. School run the world and then just went to lease university and then joined ideas. Patio brought over six England. which is Spanish and French and then the night? Join Straight after that. So take us through your quick tool for your career. Because you've been some places. I mean. I deployed all over the world Israeli but I would say that Thi defining moments for me are probably my deployment to the Gulf in two thousand and three and then my and then setting up what became the combined services adapted Sports Association. And that was you know having taken all the cash that we certainly did a decade of two thousand and nine in in two thousand eleven. I was this heavily court to see some friends and I was looking at the balcony and there were twelve ts. He's playing sitting volleyball at the time. Which is pretty interesting sight to see but age range between about eighteen and thirty two and it was that they were? Ah Loving Life for more than one. I'd seen them in Celje Hospital and I happen to be a commodore of a war sportscenter. Just honore between Henley and modeling so I asked the consultative I could set up a war sports day therefore guys and he said yes so we did and having done Vance. What's which is really successful way then went on to settle on a per wheelchair tennis day at RAF ultimate goal is play tennis the Air Force Royal Engineers and to build the rumps and we did tennis day and then it became very much known as Gerry for for adaptive sports and we set up the combined services up to sports resort getting the military? Keta these injured men and women largely men at the time and then in twenty thirteen are set at my desk are Benson and I always used to deploy anti Afghanistan Afghanistan as the detention center advisor Secretary State interesting role but When actually I got the call for the Ministry Defense Stacey Jason would like me to his royal highness had just come back from the war games and wanted to effectively put on these games that would would be be mission bang an international sporting competition for wounded injured and sick servicemen and women and demonstrating the power of a spot? The recovery was at the same time raising the military pray foul creating more sort of general public awareness for for the military and because of my background of helping create this combined sit ups for became this sort of the person so I went in. Is the military project. Executive Military Project Lead for that seconded led by the ministry defense into way my very much getting round we picked up fourteen nations based on the re-met that these that had been injured that were very much from the the most recent conflicts Afghanistan and Iraq. So we wanted to find the nations that had fought alongside US said amount for that we picked was actually. You know we've trained together. We fought together in that country together. We found we decided online sports very much using the the BPA later to get vice on which sports. We could use my sports because we'd had a successful Olympics in twenty twelve we will pick part makes sense. Say We So we festively. You went to see Orange at the time and and the Olympic Park and we bought so Keith Mills and the previous board from the Olympic Games around the table onset about putting the Games on my very much fixing long getting the nations to come so I flew around all the nations actually trying to movers and shakers that could Identify and locate their wounded population. And get them to form a team because we didn't really know what was happening. And then I became engaged in trying to raise money money through bringing in sponsorships that check your landrover and then getting the BBC and immediate behind it. Then explain what this thing was was going to be then. He ended up with four hundred competitors. Obviously a five day period of competition in London and September twenty fourteen and subsequently that was my sort sorta springboard then became the chief executive of the INVICTUS Games 2016. Take to Orlando say when that was that was the next steps and that was at that point that I took took a career break from the military so as already agreed captain and and actually having been offered the role I can really turn it down. Say That's exactly documented and then subsequently them became the Strategic Advisor Ministry of Defense he could delegation came in hand. So what there's there's a lot of questions that power that in terms of of just from a sports role in that sort of area and I guess I'm thinking about the psychology of it if you are a soldier or a serviceman who's been traumatically injured wealth and what's sports sport. What does it do? How does it help? Well I mean I think naturally you'll find that military personnel on Naturally Competitive Competitive Anyway and Camaraderie is K- it's all about team Walkman in the military as an individual you're fairly insignificant so But being able to bring people together into team environments whether it's because you come into the team environment unyielding team sport or whether you're coming into the team environment being individual sports it enabled them to put a year in particular with the invaders games enables them to put a uniform back on because think about it in the UK delegation. We've just picked the team going to the Hague and so they actively get kitted out in the UK teams allegation. They've all joined the military tree because they're fairly soft less in terms of selfless commitments and You know they they they enjoy that mission orientated. -tated feeling so within but this games you know very much about coming together as a team performing to your best demonstrating in a your commitments. What is that you taking on on the representing your country? And there's always some pride that gays with that say I mean they're not they don't tend to be profit orientated. People say sport plays really really well as well as a rail tour within the military. Because that's where we test boundaries. An awful lot of adventure training with military personnel and throw them into that team environment. So when we going through in my case officer training at Cromwell you do an awful lot of team sport exercise together whether it's being basted around some horrific cross country Sira in obstacle courses vile or whatever is making some really in China. There's lots of really fun things as row. How lots of fun? Things coming through the military or say any playing NAPA gang skiing. When I was fortunate I have see you did Winter Sport and I did tennis as well so pretty much? I was never at work but I mean I. It's a key. It is definitely a key part of life in the military being fit you know you have compulsory. PT Needy circuits every day at lunch time to do that. But it's it is a real part of it and that's why why in the Army Navy game in rugby such a big deal because it's one place that people go away whether they're serving or whether they've retired in terms of those service personnel who have been injured and are then out of the army or is that where what happens there. They need the support network. Work for them. You know it's really..

"Hope for hip hop. Vicky Vicky makes with DJ Vic one what one man let's do that tiger offset tastes. I got little Wayne's uproar. Both coming up in this. Mickey Mickey mix sounds good in the neighborhood. And also man J J Cole is going through right now in the valley this so he holds an event for his revenge of the dreamers three. And it was basically like a very small intimate listening party of not even listening party listening. Yeah. And so he invited you know, certain people from the media to come out certain friends, and I guess the the list had been released of who was there. And when you look at the list there, no female names. So there was this one girl who went on Twitter and was like Jayco how come you didn't have any women? At this. Are you know is this sexist move what's going on? And so then people started jumping on the bandwagon. And now, they're calling J Cole sexist and saying the boycott his music, and let me tell you. Now, I've seen I've seen. I've seen this happen. A lot where artists to say. Hey, can you come in? You know, come and listen to the album, and it'd be like a selective few and it'd be like, but it'd be more than one it'd be did you get a chance to this tonight? They invited me on the next. Whatever may be even our boss. Doc, doc runs a lot of stations across the country. Doc, he's good with J Cole. He didn't invite doc or ale. Do you know what I'm saying? So it's not about I don't think it's about not inviting women and not inviting this person it was more. So this is the the people in it probably wasn't even ham him. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? But it's like, okay. We've we've we've had that where it's like, okay. You know, he you come by the studio tonight. And this we got some people that's gonna come by. And for a person at that say they would have liked to have one today j just sitting down listening a little bit. They how can you listen to Jay Cole and not know their Jakoet's in cut from next exactly part. You know what I'm saying? Like, I feel like damn, you know, and I side you know, what I'm saying. I get down. This isn't about being against women. I don't want anybody to listen to this and get the wrong thing. I'm just saying that I don't think that that was his intention to sit down and make a list and say. Don't invite women. Fellas to what I'm saying. I do want you to call us a mandate talking about boycotting the music. How does that make you.
