"Single morning. And it's profound. Because i can show up to meditation. Sometimes maybe like worried or troubled or know life is happening right and it's so fascinating because she is never on that plane with me. She is so stoic. She is so just strong in her presence like she is the ultimate harmonization of masculine feminine energy. Just a brilliant bad ass women who are so wise who is so Just she is so much grace to her. She's beautiful and you know to bring us back to where you were that i think could be really valuable to your listeners. Is this every single day. I have opportunities to live my weight into her. In fact sometimes very often. I'll think to myself what would she do. How would she respond to this. How would she move for you. Know in this direction right now. Like and again. It's that clarity on who she is that allows me to feel such a deep connection and also this is an important piece insert here. She's not foreign to me which she exudes which she is already lives in me. It's just she's the most expanded version of he know the courage. The compassion the intelligence of the strength all of these things right so that expansion into becoming her lives in my every day opportunities that i have to be conscious of you know to to to leave myself into that into her. Does that make sense. I know it's deep. But i am so i don't know any other way to be you know we'll do with it. They worry i. How'd you say and correct me. If i'm wrong here but you've always been authentic to yourself to y'all yes and i hit an i incredibly envious immediate it because i know that that is not my particular journey that has not been my experience and so i wonder if you could share with listeners. How that feels or how you have been able to deconstruct in order to help. Somebody begin to connect in a way that will help the move forward and to just live more than take life. Sure gas so you know. It's interesting I have three brothers trail right behind me in age. I'm forty three the right behind the in an older sister and she sixers me me and my siblings extremely close. We've been through a lot of hardship in our in the earlier Parts of our lives in all my siblings including myself. We are all elvis strong opinions on huge hearts rate and i say that because the environment of my child upbringing to have siblings. Like this like there's no bullshitting each other. You'll get called out you get so it's like just come as you are or also called out ray. I feel like that has something to do with it. Initially okay now listen in those earlier parts of my life. It's not like i had this. I wasn't conscious of. Oh i'm just going to be my most authentic self right. I can just in the in the later years of my life look back ago damn girl you really always chose to operate from immerse authentic self lake even in the example of being on the playground at you know what i think it was like ten years old and i for some reason and i don't like this word but i'm going to paint the picture Growing up i was always in the popular girl group but just the girls that were more. Whatever i'm always kind of lone wolf though like never clicky is always kind of just found myself in that you know environment of growth. And i'll never forget this one time where this you know girl in our group of friends as started picking on this. This girl who was more of an introvert and loner and she's on the playground playing handball with ourselves and this girl was the bully caller. The bully was picking on her. Okay just making fun of her and the other girls in this group. We're just going along with her. And i could read their discovered something they really wanted you a very very receptive of energy and i'm watching this and i i couldn't i couldn't stand it like i. It was very uncomfortable for me now. This is really important. I love neuroscience right. So i'm super geek about the brain and actually what's going on chemically listen from back in the day ancestral times like this is very dangerous to move against the tribe right to stay to stand in you know to to oppose right so it was very risky especially in the earlier years of my life you know as a as a child were more malleable and feeling like we belong very important right. It's like a survival mechanism. But i couldn't in that moment. I couldn't stand watching. This girl bullied this girl. Who's already just having her time. So i left that little. Click and went. I played handball with a girl. And then the bully started making fun of me and it was almost like i was just waiting for her to do it because i just went straight to her face and if that hatred common stop she would've been over. I'm a fighter straight up and so but you know looking back at. This is so powerful right because in the moment all i was doing i was at this crossroad. Of what are you gonna do the true. You can't stand to be here right now and go with this person rank but there's risk it's risky. It's dangerous i could be outcasted And i chose my truth. I chose myself. I give that example because it's a powerful one right but it's it's been the constant in my life. It didn't matter if people didn't like me and this is to to this day. You don't like me. I don't get the job a not cool enough for your opportunity. I don't care. I care more about how i feel about who i am and how i show up in this world so it really comes down to that. It's like i prioritize. Time is what. I believe what i love and what i feel about myself versus anybody else in the world thinks about me including people i love. Which is that's really hard right because those are the pinions. I value more than anything anybody. But if it's not within my truth vic doesn't feel authentic to me. I will still stand up and disagree or oppose or or whatever so you know what ends up happening here is. This is what i say. It's like true self confidence. Because i'm not relying on anything external to cultivate this feeling of i'm good enough. I belong you know any of that. It's all coming from within me and that is something that no one could ever fucking take away from me and that is true power and that is why i can walk into any room in any situation. I don't care who's who. What's what i stand in my truth and my ownership and here's something that could be really supportive to your listeners. In the subject of authenticity. Just know this. There's pain on either side. There's discomfort on either side whether you're going to choose to operate from your most authentic or not so comes down to what pain discomfort or you willing to take ownership.

"If there was a supernatural element oh it words and secondly what the hell kind of jurisdiction does the gotham police department have. Thank you thank you thank you. Yes i i know. This probably comes across as a quibble but the gossip. Pd sniper team still has jurisdiction over one hundred outside of of them in the middle of nowhere. It's one of the boroughs. Like i don't know how that works either. But i love these points. They never say where exactly the cabin is. But there is no way. It's within gotham city limits. Right i'm not sure why but the southern presence of a police helicopter in remote took me completely activist story. That is a great point with one. We didn't we didn't zero in on. That's a great point jurisdiction. Yes and that's why we have. Wonderful list is like steven. Bring this anchin. So thank you steven. Yeah points to there as well. Strong strong agree. That batman is really a terrible role model with cutting the heads off. Wolves is training requirements for new sidekicks w. t. s. That's what i brought up. Yeah again. I'm right there with you. We totally and again fantastic job with the show. I'll be listening. Thanks stevenson win. Thank you so much. The that was a beautiful beautiful email. Steve that was great. We really appreciate all the compliments and we really appreciate you writing in. Oh yes so. Thank you so much for doing that. Because like i said his first one came in a little late but we did get them. So don't worry and steve writes about this episode. Lady vic says hey charleston. Dj well it's dj. Nick so it's it's neck but that's okay it's okay. I think i'm sure you respond to either right. Do all right so continue to love the podcast as always will she continued. Love you for loving do that. That's how that works Your breakdown of lazarus was excellent. Well thank you. I'm still a bit confused. As about how or why. They're just happens to be an active. Lazarus pit in arkansas basement and that jason ties. Evolution into red hood was consolidated from years into hours by a series of incredibly convenient plot devices. But i guess that's what you get when we get to do when you have your own very own television show. Yeah yeah and even without the rv right crow. Yeah that breaking bad reference right but Yeah i'm still trying to figure out why there's just happens to be a lazarus pit under arkansas..

"They think that you know they're the ones doing good with their actions like oh i'm doing this for a reason. Own hands did not really seeing their villains warned that twisted way like joker will even like reverse flash even zoom in the comics. They want the heroes to step up their game. It's almost like i'm pushing you to limit so you can be a better hero in my own interested way. That was definitely zooms. Deal in the that that he was trying to make you know wally to better flash in the comics. All right anything else about this topic. No i think we talked to to go the highpoint salvage and see. Here's where the episode was good. We left the garbage behind us and this is the good stuff. Yeah yeah so. We don't hate this. Yeah so top number four. Let's talk about our bad guys in addition to black farah guests. So let's talk about scarecrow. The red hood in tim. Drake is not a bad guy. But but i want to include tim here because jason. Todd's actions in this setting him. Down the path of becoming the next robin i think. Oh and it's and it's very interesting that you have a former robin this time creating his replacement. Unwittingly be the promos poetic irony. I think is great. So let's talk about scarecrow who we've talked about Seems like he. And jason are now on the outs. Yup they're still as far as scarecrow concerned. They're still working together. But jason especially by the end of this episode seems to be like well. F- scarecrow do my own thing. He seems to be pretty much toes. Everybody's go fly kites somebody different every episode. He's always with somebody right right. Exactly like at this off of that. And he's pissed off it. He's pissed off at night wing. And now he's pissed off at scarecrow. I mean really. Right right and scarecrow you know. This is why scarecrow shows jason lady vic and chose him. Look your expendable dude. I like you know you're just muscle. And i can get muscle anywhere. Yup so if you got a problem with what. I'm doing There's others willing to do this..

"But for right now it's a big question i knew i did. I did like that. It established that she was oracle presumably after losing her leg at the at the jokers hands so so apparently she just losing. Your leg. didn't drive her immediately to becoming police. Commissioner no she probably became oracle after that and then became police commissioner when she decided i can't be oracle anymore four question-mark reason. Yeah i believe that's probably how it went. And i would have liked to have been his seeing her little bit more cooperative with dick granted okay. He's blundered a few between the whole bank thing that we've seen earlier and everything else that she's like. I don't want any more screw ups. There's no more team up between you and die but you think that maybe pushed to Literally the limits she might open up and dick is doesn't have the break into. Gcp deion steal the audio into his own. Yeah look okay. You know. we're in a good enough place. Okay if you ask me for this. I will give it to you. But they're not at that point yet. They're still kind of fighting and There's still obviously friction there so the question is what is it gonna take to get over that now. Dick later in the episode after the attack by lady vic goes to check out her apartment Like i'm gonna go to. Barbara's apartment at check her out. I mean check out her apartment she catch that reference. But she has little like oh. Let's go down memory lane about when we were involved and having sex after stealing stuff but but that's the that's where it ends it doesn't it doesn't lead to anything more yet but it seems like they still have feelings for each other. Oh yes this other baggage that they need to sort out to get on the same page. I and that was very nice. Seen that i woke you home and everything else is kind of taking it home and everything show. She didn't have to invite him in to check out our apartment. I'm sure capable of checking herself. That everything was okay. Yeah because she kind of got the. It's like this is me was nice. Csee soon and everything else but but he was by think. Probably because dick knows you kind of stuff that jason's getting up to he doesn't want to find new rigged explosives or something else inside the house or some crazy surprise waiting so i guess you know being the gentleman that he is like okay. Let's go see what's if there's anything going on. Well take recent quite the player you know you had yet. Dawn and glory and now bats so racking up quite the quite the little black. Book mr grayson. That's why i mentioned. The writers loved to play fast in with the fact of ood Potential sexual tension and everything else between the actors. So yeah although. Laurie personally would love to see dick donna together but obviously she has come back from the debt. I and still nothing donna. By the way still nothing on raven by the way episode six. We still nothing on these two characters i do. It's very frustrating. He ranting about it every episode like we were but.

"Almost either played it through like a rocket room. I want that guys. I or whatever doesn't really need it. It's just kidding about the leg. So i this because you know. I just dr crane is maybe just high off his butts. Why are taking flesh photo as well. I'm not going tell you why need it but just do it. Cer- it clearly play into some plant but the fight was good. As i said i really enjoy the the exchange between the two and the heck i have to say that some you know one babs Hold her own even if she's in a wheelchair and yes or was it was. It was interesting to see how it all plays out. And how the the sway. That scarecrow has over lady vic right we talk about. He's clearly the puppet mazda in the whole story. And it shows even more so here and the fact humor sees lady because potentially jason's Replacements should jason decide to go rogue. So expendable yup and and i did enjoy the introduction to lady in this where she's being given. Oh great tea which is clearly not happy about. That's america for one thing like this is not in pushing it away is like this is not what i usually drink. And but yeah. I also think shows how sociopathic psychopathic now. She is since she doesn't want other people to be happy because her happiness was taken away from her. And just like. If i can't be happy nobody'll yeah so it's kind of what officiant killer she is. I mean i was. I didn't feel kind of bad that she works in kills defenseless surgeons just like that reichen. She's merciless well. You know she might have been told to do that by scarecrow. Send a message just to show jason like yeah like like you know we like. I don't need you. Jason and i've got lady vic so i think that was what now what thing i difficult to talk about was seen earlier with dick and babs in her office air. Dick asked her to use oracle's voice recognition to tap into gotham phone network to track down jason and also check out scarecrow and lady vic but but she refuses saying that oracle was mothballed for a reason and she's the only one that access and she's not revisiting that monster for dick or anyone. So what did you make of that revelation. Well it does really. It's great tees because you do wonder what was the event that caused her to say. I don't want to have anything with oracle ever again. What what happened there in what went wrong or it's simply because bias nation. Anything that she associates with batman. She doesn't want anything to do with. And she's trying to burn that bridge completely. It's almost like oracle was an extension of batman. Maybe in her mind idea of wanting independence from bruce. If you will kind of maybe. Like i guess the way dick chose the night wing persona to be his own person and not have to be an extension of batman being robin so it could be that but it does leave the intrigue of what was. I just wanted to know what was so horrible. Apparently about being oracle. That's exactly it yes so hopefully we'll get that story later on the season.

"Would love that and you know almost reminding me someone to the batman. Sixty six episodes where batman is cogitate eating and thinking of stuff. Wrong if there it's more ridiculous sand scientists from the see the trees beach. Yeah wasn't quite that far reaching to connect the dots right you know like. How did you make leaps like that but this this makes sense. He was concentrating and using his experience. And the audio and with cars help to narrow it down in you know. I really enjoyed that. So i will give the titans writers credit for this one because i thought i really enjoyed that sequence. If only dead devil were a dc character. The with been fantastic matt murder would do forever got to dc marvel. Tv show team ups. I would love to see a night wing. Daredevil team up it would be fat poetry in motion. I mean just you know they're both acrobats and whatnot so Let's make that happen then. They they also both use fighting sticks. I might add exactly there. You go so that makes perfect sense. I think all right but so what else We had dick trying to call barbara and There's there's you know. Because of lady. Vic i guess we should probably talk about lady vic said now you know. Apparently now she's working the scarecrow and we'll talk about scarecrow in fourth topic today. But but lady vic still. Has this grudge. Obviously against barbara in dick and so on scarecrows i think direction she goes after barbara she. You know with jason's help i guess. Barbara barbara ends up in a remote location. Some kind of alley or something and lady vic confronts her and in in that thought was a pretty decent sequence where you have lady vic fighting barbara. Who's in a wheelchair. And we we get to see barbara using. I love the fact that they were. She was using a scream sticks. Yes you know doing her own wheelchair because being a wheelchair she's obviously limited as.

"That was glad to hear him say that. Because i'm not sure at this point. What his motivations are with jason and you bring up a great point. Because i think it's some redeem is the character from what we'd seen before of you know i'm i'm a thief. I'm stealing because it turns me on the same time we got some flashes of who wing really is 'cause he'd experienced i think bruce shutting him out or shutting jason out and someone's like the abused child or i want to turn to an abuse them myself and so he he pro. That's why he's like out talk with god. Because i don't want another jason situation on my hands where you're constantly shutout your constituents like nobody listens to me. I'm going to be a criminal. So maybe that's why he's going through the motions with guard. And i was happy because it shows the guy has learned something that you shut people out his superhero world. They've go bad if you shut them out right. Maybe maybe the whole jason todd thing has caused him to reevaluate that hopefully or regardless just it was great to see them actually talking again especially if they're that earlier scene and i loved detective dick sides. Yes finally yeah. Like i was beautiful. One of the things that i will say that titan season three is doing better than previous seasons dick grayson is actually being a detective again. I love that. He was trained by batman. He should know this stuff and he was a police officer remember. That's how will you. We were introduced to him anyway. And when the show began in season one so he should be detecting and he sits he. Ingar actually works together. They go down inside at the back cave. Or whatever and Dick asked gars help. Chose him this technique that bruce taught him while he was robin. About how to kind of isolate audio and figure out what actually happened just by listening to it closely and so they kind of figure out what exactly what what the deal is with a killer who they don't know yet you know lady vic though there they isolate like well the killer was between five six and five eight was trained in sword fighting us a sixteen inch walkers ashi blade and she's right handed and dick thinks about this and he's like i know who the killer is practised like a detective. Holy crap that was fabulous actually worked. Almost may remind someone like helping him. Like you know using the ryan potter like was great physical performer. In that you know using the the trying out the different blades to get the right southbound to match it up and and which on hand to use it in and whatnot so so i really liked that scene so i wanna see more of that. And what's he of dick grayson breaking laws that seat. I couldn't put myself chance. Because this is the dick grayson. We have come to see not the the the guy who steals diamonds with his girlfriend. Yeah i and it was just beautiful. Because i think also god evidently also previews more validated by the fact that he's being pulled into do this kind of stuff and like you said warning as a team like they should be. Yeah and ron potter was just that i agree with you. The fluidity of the motions with that he had with the blades. I was like. I want to see him do like a kung fu show a sonny because he really has the move. He's got yeah he does he. He's got the skills so kudos ryan potter and much. So you know we re now. We just need a spotlight episode where he can really unload in show his fighting skills..

"Back when dick was just know was working. Robin of course under batman. And let's also talk about their first encounter with lady vic which obviously factors into the present day which will talk about our next topic so so nick. What was your reaction to finding out you know. And we've talked about this already. A little bit that the uncomfortableness of seeing dick grayson barbara gordon. Boosting stuff from museums and uh and nino their first encounter with vic. Well we had touched up on it. But really i had to see. Roll my eyes. When i saw this because obviously when we first see dick and bobby choosing meet up at i the psych feeding. He's like why. Are you keeping my dad on his toes. How is that keeping your father on. His toes already has enough stuff to deal with. Do you have to get into the whole thing as well. I mean then humor seems like either they get just a thrill from it. From being vigilantes taxi during what the criminals because it seems to enjoy it in the sense that one point babs is like showing a necklace that she stolen in the like. Oh that looks really good on you. And they start stealing diamonds now like dude. You work with batman. What is wrong with you. I mean seriously. I guess that that's what turns you on. Because halfway through a heist they start making out. So i guess i that's like this is what kind of puts the fire. I don't know but it just seemed weird. And i have to admit grunted. Six north ages Dick does a little bit younger. Thanks the fact that he wears his baseball cap backwards and like okay. I guess that's supposed to make him look younger. Okay well they had stretched out a little bit because obviously he's older. She's older so they tried to make them look younger. So i get that. Yeah papa baseball cap and you look six years younger. I know you have to kind of just roll with that. When i go i know i. I'm i'm exaggerating the the budget for the aging. Yeah exactly but no as and that's you could definitely feel the dynamic between the two you could ever feel the sexual tension which was either just felt it and it was actually shown to you because of course what are you gonna do when you're waiting for a heist. Make out real quick because dick conn keep. His pants can't keep little dick in in check. Apparently like seriously do like re like a whole new puppy. I'm like come on now. Manufactured goes before you can chill out little some no bother. That's i like the dynamic between the two you could see was. They were very very close and explains a lot of the things that we've seen in previous episodes of the lovers. The lover's spat. If you will they have yeah. Yeah and now. They're no longer together and stuff. So i enjoyed that part. I just didn't look at the whole heist thing. You could just had them talking. Well heck you could have seen her briefly as bat girl even you. They did show did. Show babs fighting. I'm sure it was probably a stunt double because we know of course. The actress has self wouldn't be able to do that but i would..

"Again everyone. Welcome back to tighten talk the titans podcast or is that perhaps batman talk the batman podcast. We'll talk about that more later. I'm charles skaggs back in titans tower once again ready to talk more titan season. Three with my wonderful partner wonderful friend and someone apparently tried to emulate the scarecrows look right now. Dj nick cater nick and he chose. What can i say i. The man is such a handsome guy. I'm trying to look a little bit more presentable than my usual self. You know but we do. Our best is supposed to get exactly the haggar. Exa- messy hair actually. But no i agree with you when you made. That statement. is batman show because this is like this episode was like bat. Charles even has the t shirts approve. It's that just because this week. I was like is this batman featuring the titan that was kind of the bible i came to this episode. I'm doing well and how about yourself doing good. Yeah i'm doing great having a lot of fun with my new kitties. Am trying to get life back on track. But what are the reason i mentioned. That is because laurie as we were watching this episode of titans. We're gonna talk about episode sixty three. We're talking lady vic by the way and as we were watching lady vic lorry goes to me she looks over at me she goes. This is supposed to be a titan show right. All of this is batman stuff. You know. we're we're the titans at and i mentioned to argo. Well at least this episode. We get you know we get corey. We get gar. We get super bowl a so. At least we get to see some other titans in this episode which we didn't get to last time at all at all but their back so at least it's starting to feel more like a titan show again a little bit but once again. This is very batman. Heavy for titans. Tv show so which kind of knew this is going to be the case with the gotham city setting and gotham city villains. But i kind of regret. They had a turn. This show into batman show. I don't know about you you could've stayed in. Frisco really groggy goats gotham. Come on man. But but yeah. I'm hoping that soon we'll be able to sing. It's beginning to look a lot like titans but we'll see fingers crossed so like i said we're talking lady vic here. This is the sixth episode of titans season three released just a couple of days ago. On september fourth twenty twenty one written by josh well levy and prophecy threat of us on.
The Supreme Court Ends Biden’s Eviction Moratorium
"One of the things. That's a big thing in this country is freedom. that's why we were founded. We came to this country from rape britain and other places to overthrow tyranny to overthrow kings and people who dictate what we do and to have bureaucrats in washington particularly the cdc the cdc centers for disease control down in atlanta. Their job is to control diseases. They do not have authority to order people who own buildings and not evict tenants. If they've gone over a year thank you very much without being paid rent for their properties. there are also things called property rights in this country whether people like it or not on msnbc or cnn or in the new york times washington post or in the biden administration whether they like it or not landlords or people to and if you happen to have invested in an investment property or you own some apartment houses and people haven't paid you rent for over a year and you want to a victim so you can put some paying in there. The have your hands tied by the centers for disease control illegally just mandating. You can't vic people because it's related to ovid. Nineteen is totally absurd. it's legally questionable and the supreme court ruled about a month ago that it had to end and then of course president biden. Mr i believe in the law from a bad guy. Trump defies the courts bla-bla-bla suddenly Joe biden issued a an edict that they extend the addiction moratorium and even said on the day that he did it. Look this may not pass muster in the courts but at least will buy some time for people while it works. Its way through the courts and would you care to try for double jeopardy where the scores can really change. Joe here's what happened with that. The supreme court quick like a bunny moved in and said nope nope gotta go out so as of last weekend the moratorium on evictions is over. And i expect any day. Now you'll start seeing on. Tv many people who are living in their cars or who are on the street. And you'll see you know the violin music playing. Here's mary jones with her sixteen kids on the street because the bad landlord kicked her out because the supreme court which is full of trump nominees Made the decision that they have to
The Science of Masks Is Still Uncertain
"New york magazine is on the left on occasion. It produces a non left peace new york magazine. Science of masking kids at school remains uncertain. The title is way. Way understating vic. The arguments of the article at the end of may the centers for disease control and prevention published a notable yet mostly ignored large scale. Study of cova transmission in american schools. These findings cast doubt on the impact of many of the most. Common mitigation measures measures in american schools distancing hybrid models classroom barriers hep filters and most notably requiring student. Masking were each found to not have a statistically significant benefit. I'm allowing that to sink in. This is a cbc study which needless to say made no headlines that i'm aware of in the united states but this experts say masks on children harmful or and useless to year olds have to wear masks onto airplanes. And we're proud of our society and there are people on the plane who were scared of a three year old. Not wearing a mask. I fear irrationality and i don't fear much in other words. These measures cannot be said to be effective. Many of america's peer nations around the world including the u k ireland all of scandinavia france. The netherlands switzerland italy have exempted kids with varying age. Cutoffs from wearing masks classrooms really. They must be dying. These kids must be killing teachers conspicuously. There's no evidence of more outbreaks in schools. Those countries relative to schools in the. Us does that matter. Those of you who say you follow the science and take the left wing. "That's that's very. That's very exciting. Feels feels unusual and then you get used to it and so this is the exciting thing about another exciting thing for me. is bruce. built it around like kung-fu boxing fencing and cha-cha so fencing. Why it's right arm forward and it's kind of like you want your strongest weapon out there keeping the behind keeping the person away from you and you sort of are lined up like this. And then cha-cha he was bruce originally met learned about the united states or like saw the united states by touring as the hong kong cha-cha champion. Because he was a really good dancer and he learned this and now all the here actually like it is shocking here. But it's not surprising. Exactly and then when you learn g condo you learn a lot of the moves generate power from the hips and like most martial arts. You get a lot of power from the hips but when you find yourself just doing the hip move that would lead to the punch or the kick you realize you're doing the cha-cha like ripping your hits back and forth to get power and it's like. Oh shit that's where. Bruce got that from and it's it's so fun to just and now now that i'm like grown up more intellectual capacity arguably curiosity like it's such a fun thing for me to like pull these now. I'm learning not just the moves. But like an on another level. That i would not have when i was fucking sixteen or fifteen. Yeah and -solutely. Oh man that's so cool. That's really really cool and it's like it's so exciting. Like martial arts are always so old like all my grand masters like are from south korea in like are like came to the states in her like on the board and so it's like very cool for like a martial art. It's like young tests and that's what's throwing like. My instructor learned from the person who learned from bruce. It's only like second generation because it's such a modern form. Yeah and it was found founded in america more or less even though he is Like a chinese. i mean. he's a chinese-american. He is Biracial but it's an american martial art form because he like taught here and the exciting things about bruce while i'm just rambling because now just gideon have someone who might give a shit big time pothead and a big time pilot. He learned about pot and like someone. Alcohol didn't agree with him. And he's like steve. Mcqueen gave him his first joint and he loved he did. That's such a cool. I and then. Also bruce got into a lot of hot water with the martial arts communities in america because he taught to black people in san francisco he taught to anyone anyone who would take wanted to sign up and he was the first person that taught like african american black people in the back in the day and other people like the elders of different martial arts form. Were not cool with that and he said it. Now this is for everybody like you know you wanna learn. I'll teach man that is fascinating. I had no idea. I've always been such a big bruce fan leg. Same fucking folder. That's that's so cool. And i like i don't know nearly enough about like him as a person like this is may be so interested in like not only. It's g kuno you said. Yeah yeah not. Only that. But also like i don't know just like get picking up a biography. I highly recommend his memoir called a life. It's poorly written like it's not that well written but it doesn't have to be for bruce doesn't have to be for bruce lee's life. His wikipedia is tight. You know what. I mean like it's whole theresa. Because he just has that kind of like short action packed life where he did so much and lived like such a crazy. But that enough about bruce. Let's get back to vic vic. Where can listeners of high. And mighty. Fine you i mean besides in your dojo when they challenge you for superiority of the so cal arts. 'cause i'm at va see across all platforms. And if i just say is. There's a lot of really awfully trans. Bill's going around. You can find info on that at the aclu. they're they're soon a bunch of people in just. In general you can find like links to petitions and things like that on their instagram website. Fuck yeah cosign that not going to plug my action movie podcast after that. No no no no no. I'd rather prioritize that. Let's do it. I have five hundred episodes of this podcast to talk about my shit. But yeah a lot of fucking subterranean moves are happening in politics around the country and it feels like you know we. We have to push back against the fuck in flood of this bullshit. That's coming up like so. Let's keep our eyes peeled for this. Let's stop that all the fucking anti trans legislation. Let's stop all the anti-voting legislation because it's starting to feel like an obvious power grab. Let's fucking put an end to it. It's bullshit who gives a shit. What people's want call themselves. What gender they wanna be. It shouldn't be any. I don't give a fuck what anyone does in their lives. No one else should. That's it's really at minimum. You should actually just feel empathy and feel care and hope the best for people minimum. All you have to do is not think about them at all. Like on such an easy ask is just drop it. Like whenever someone's like well. Are we supposed to put our pronouns on.

Official announcement is expected to come soon. He says that again, according several sources, the All Star game is gonna be moved to Denver on July 13th, the home run Derby. Home. Rhonda Recourse field. I'm in for that. I will be unbelievable, Of course. Remember the Rockies course field, Denver hosted the All Star Game back in 1998 last time. But Shout out to our guy. Look, Vic Lombardi, who had this out there first, and it looks like the MLB All Star game is going to be coming here to Denver. Pretty cool
Leave policies have not caught up for women in office
"Are serving as state lawmakers across the country. But in most capitals, family leave policies have not changed. That leaves new moms with few options when having Children. Abigail, since he has more from member station W. K a. R in Lansing. Mallory McMorrow was part of 2018 so called year of the woman. When a record number of women were elected to office, she flipped a Michigan State Senate district in the suburbs of Detroit. Your first interview you're very hungry. Seven weeks ago, she gave birth to her first daughter. No. Uh uh. She's like the size of the microphone. You know, Like many parents, McMorrow is taking time off to be with her newborn. But while state employees get 12 weeks of paid time off, there's no parental leave policy for lawmakers. The answer to their constituents and their pay is written in the state constitution so they can technically take off as much time as they want The catch being they miss votes. I can't vote remotely. I can't proxy vote. I have to physically go toe Lansing. And I have a newborn who naps for 20 minutes and then is up again and ready to eat and be changed. Michigan is one of a handful of legislatures where lawmakers worked full time. Senator Vic Morrow said she spoke up because she could already envision attack outs criticizing her for not being in the capital to vote vote She missed so she could spend time with her baby. Are we comfortable with the idea? That we don't want working moms in the Legislature because that's the message unless we change the system, she says. This is a conversation she's had with many women that women can have it all. Just not all at once on that feels true for her in the Legislature. The
OnePlus 9 Pro Phone Review
"So there was some big Hardware news today. Maybe you heard of it. If you're fans of one plus then you probably saw that the company held a livestream this morning and then shortly after the embargoes lifted and reviews were aplenty the oneplus nine and the oneplus nine pro wrong article okay. Plus nine won't buzz nine pro on house this morning. That's does because i didn't put an article in there burks. Donald the worry about him Were announced this morning. You don't need to put an article in there. Because i have them there they are. That's right this right. Here is one plus nine in. I think they call it a matte. Black does a color. Although it's not very mad i was gonna ask. Does it have did you. Keep the protector on there. Because it looks real shiny to me is look mad at all. No it's not matt actually. It's very very shiny in fact both of these are very very shiny. So that's the nine and then a slightly larger nine pro like super glass. You know what i mean. It's like error basically But it's got a got a little kind of like haziness up the top that gets to completely cleared out the bottom but You know. I colors What's the other one is like a do. They call it an arctic green or something like that. I can't remember the name of the third color but it's kind of more similar to here. Hold on. I think i have a more similar to the oneplus. Eight pro this. I would call matt right like this is kind of like a hazy sort of not glassy reflective thing but just really disappointed by. I'm sorry i. I don't mean to be hard to please but i'm disappointed by the black and silver of it all like what is this is like some sort of ball where i'm like put on a fancy gown only wear like black or silver. Are i mean you still. You still have your color options. Vic the oneplus maper wave like whereas the vapor way. Where's the beautiful -til back sometimes. Save these things for later. You know how oneplus roles they come out with their colors in there and then a little bit later they come out with their special edition. Vapor waves now. They did last year. I'm just saying sometimes they do Bites What you will notice with the oneplus nine nine pro. If you look hard enough. And i don't know that i've got this on auto focus so i'm just gonna keep right here but Basically this little branding in the camera bump which says hostile blog. I saying that right And so basically oneplus has a has a partnership with hossa blonde. The camera company. That is a highly respected. Although we should definitely point out the fact that hasselblad was also the big camera partnership that motorola had for a moto. Maude that did not actually take very good pictures. So the question was once we started hearing kind of the news about oneplus and blah. Having a partnership. Is this a branding play. Or is the cameras hardware actually amazing here which is definitely the focus. That really seems to be the focus. This time around the oneplus eight year. You may remember at least eight pro. it it did well improving upping oneplus game when it came to the camera and it looks like with the nine. They're looking to do the same thing here. I've had these phones For about a week and a half now although. I've only really used the nine pro with any regularity. I haven't like lived with the oneplus nine Camera hardware is very similar between the two. But i've i've leaned into the camera on the nine pro. I'm actually doing a comparison for hands on tack. That will go live tomorrow between shots on the eight pro and shots on the nine pro to kinda show. You did one. Plus actually upgrade here But know feel free and show some shots. Hokey stay on this one for a second because this one kind of bothers me. This is the main rear facing camera. I don't know that anyone else would notice this. Because you don't know my daughter and my wife the way i do but their heads look stretched totally noticed that actually. It looks like your daughter's flat look like cardboard out to that. This was done with main camera. This was not the winding lens. I'm used to seeing that kind of tearing that smearing on wide angle shots. But not the main and i realized what it is because this was like within. The first couple of days of having the camera was like okay. What is that if all of my main shots are going to do. This is going to bug the heck out of me and realize what it is the main lens does not have optical image stabilization. And so if you are even moving your hand the slightest when you take these shots you end up with really Erotic images and that. I see that as a big bummer. Because it actually did kind of rear. Its ugly head to me multiple times. Where i thought i was still but it wasn't quite still enough then. I looked at the shot later. I was like okay. That's just a little too blurry for my liking. The actually end up getting better shots out of the uae than you do with the main But yeah i mean. I mean considering that it's a wide right so you get that wide effect but the i just enjoy the shots from the live more than i do the main and a lot of the shots that i took those very dark outsize store. That's that's frustrating. It out the person who uses that you know it's going to distort the images. They take that they want us to. I'm sorry usa. The angle has the optical image civilization. Yeah yeah the wide has optical image stabilization to my understanding. The main does not at main absolutely does not and yeah so i got arenas on on really yellow. Yeah maybe maybe fact. Check that for me. While i walk through a few these eligible here but yeah i know for a fact. The main does not. I'm pretty pretty confident. The why does. But i could be wrong That shot that you were just looking at that. Was low light. Low light in the back yard near dr not quite dark and it was fine like lobe light performance on some of my shots were were fine. Nothing like screaming amazing. You know what i mean. you know again low light. I don't know. I feel like that could be better right by. I don't know This those two shots are interesting because one is the rear. This is the front facing and it shows you the differences in color balanced detection between the two cameras There's just i don't know like a time and time again as i'm kind of going through and taking pictures and comparing and everything it's like the images like i'm really curious to compare between the eight pro and the nine pro because i haven't actually done the side by sides yet for tomorrow's review. I'm doing that After the show actually. But i'm really interested to compare. Because like i'm kind of guessing guessing without comparing at this point that images are relatively similar between the two and if so then what is the hasselblad partnership actually mean

Who Is Likely to Win the All-Star Game?
"Now i'm gonna tell you what was wrong this game in it is team rant. And i'm gonna let you know why like hidden in. I think that they're going to be the winner here. Keep in mind this a fun game to see all star game. There is no real. There is no reason to put it all on the line. So i just think these top five and the starting role with young. he's gonna wanna make a name for himself devon booker who another young gun. I believe it was their last year but he had come in as a subject here. So he's gonna wanna do good. I see more youth potential on durant. It's gonna want to actually make a difference a even zone. They gotta sign on on. These guys are young and go on and make statements looked for them to give more effort than people like steph. Curry people like Tombo people like chris. Paul i just i think they're giving give you more effort and that's why i think team durant's get win this game again. It's a fun game. Don't be surprised going down the stretch last two minutes of they just wanna play slam dunk mania because there is no real cost to this game. So you know. I don't think this is a game worthy betting on or immediate. Any real significance is not. It's an all star game. It's weekend time it's fun but nonetheless. Those are your two teams one more time team. The bronze can start with lebron at tombo steph curry luca danni in nikola jokic. They're going to go up against team. Durant team grant kevin's going on his chin leading outfits and on the side he'll be coach and bradley beal. Joel embiid kyle. Erring kawai leonard. Jason tatum those injure starters and then all the other big names league made. It's the one that didn't make. It was trae young from atlanta. Which i i would put trae young on here before julius randle before on coal of Vic i would have put him on there before. So bonus I a big fan of trae young out of atlanta. He hasn't had the greatest. But you take trae young away from atlanta in the garbage and don't get me wrong garbage january's with out him. I mean he really is a one man team in most other teams are relying on much landed and it just goes to show you how good your quick helping gets inside and gets done. Betrayed young. didn't make it and you know they always say you can't have everybody. He's the one person i would have liked to seeing may get But nonetheless getting back to the point here. I think you're gonna see the younger guns on. Durant team tried to make the difference

Why Kendall Jenner's tequila is being criticized
"Let's move onto kendall jenner and her tequila. Yes yes that's the man that's the on. Let me see. Let me see if i got this tweet. The tweet basically said that went viral was on a meeting. My laptop jenner's tequila is called eight. One eight directs. So yeah so. The streets said kendall jenner starting to heal brand with zero knowledge of on mexican culture and colony eight when they think is gentrification the eight one eight does not claim calabasas. What about those smaller family owned mexican tequila scholar brands. They deserve the hype. And so now the tweet that went viral. That i did see. So the issue is the fact that she's naming the eight. She's really not funny when she's from calabasas which is like the rich part of the when he was also probably lived in. Encino on again is the rich part of the day when eight valley super super valley. But it's been terrible of our above. There is a little bit different situation financially. Ya but see years you bring up a good point. Let the tweet said. Why don't we give the attention to the mom and pop brands. And that's so true like white. Why don't we warming because we like what we like to think. A companies have done better job making better tequila branding. It better But do i am. I offended as a mexican offended. That kendall is starting to a meal chettle speaking. I'm not offended. You gotta look at it like this to. I'm sure the people producing the la are from cadiz. Go so right. Yeah so that in a way she's generating jobs down in mexico more. Holly i mean it's taken from the mexican heritage but she's also financially given given to the people in a way i mean they're working for but you look at george clooney right. What does he cuss amigos. First of all people love to hate the card ashes number one number two eight one eight probably pissed people off so you know that's the thing that she has some strikes against her and that's what's helping. You would also sucks though. I'll say this. I don't think people were coming at the rock. They coming at george kalonzo weather coming at for brand only female. That's another way that. I i see what you're saying. I see why it within a female though. It's the cardiac. I think more than right leslie. I am dj for them. And i know you're going to play you know you're going to be polite here. But other people love to hate on them right. Oh yeah absolutely. Like they have to really. It's like they're walking on eggshells almost the questions. They just have to be very careful. Which is why i think they should have probably thought of the name a little bit more. You know but then again who's to say like like you said jeff. They grew up in the eight one eight. It wasn't. It wasn't the hoodie way. But it was still the eight one eight personally. I don't have a problem with it. I would have done more research on the name and she could've done like all the sisters together like you know named it. Four sisters done that in spanish lot. Cut akilah yeah. I like that would have been cool. I hope that when she campaigns for this tech you can talk when she campaigns for this tequila. I hope that she incorporates. The real eight one eight campaign you know like like panorama city point did all those cities and so more in san fernando. Panorama city pajama friggin. A north hollywood is where i was born so like i just really really hope that that she she you know incorporates the actual culture the actual mexican culture and eight when he culture in her campaign by the way the keillor's produced by gopher essay are the seven distillery. And how these again. She's providing jobs in a way. And and and i guess taking from us as mexicans culture right but i tequila that grew and kendall at you need some models for your camp pay the cruise show including you. Got the crucial baby girl. We will do sponsorship right here.
Greg Elfrink - How To Create And Sell Your Own Media Empire
"So when you're when you're seeing someone 'biocyte. I'm kind of curious because he's probably pointed to the seller. Sometimes it's a more of an advance or sorry. The buyer felt like an fbi site because they see the opportunity. Someone did all the hard work of creating the website finding the products. Maybe figuring out what's working what's selling what's not like. What are some things that you're seeing sellers do with a website that on empire flippers. Like are there certain things that they're looking for. Is it like that. where they're like. Oh they did all the work for me. I'm gonna pay for that because they can saved me years of work in heartache to figure all this out like can you know prep yourself for that in a way as a seller. Yeah you're asking. What can i do to help. A buyer seed at their web site. Is that shortcut. Yeah that in the motivations of a buyer yes so they can kind of sync up in the right spot and you know get the valuation yet. This is a very good question. Because i i always Both buyers and sellers so if you ask a seller like why are you selling your business like almost one hundred percent. The fans like i want money vic big vol but that's usually not the real answer right there. That's the superficial answer. Then you dig deeper. They're like oh. I want to do other projects and like okay. Let's dig deeper. You peeling back the onion a bit. eventually filed like. Well i want to focus on other projects. Take less than my time. Because i'm moving to this new house and selling this Business allows me to make this down baby in the house for my new family. And now you're getting to the emotional reason right. So whenever a talk to buyers and sellers say dig deep find out who the buyer seller is copywriting. One we all do like everyone listening to this podcast of the market price familiar with copywriting right but for some reason when you go to buy or sell busy like take the copywriting Just like throw it in the trash like. I don't need that anymore. Businesses success but like the buyer seller. Is your customer right like that is your customer. You need to think about their own motivation. So when it comes through selling thinking about a buyer we recommend Or at least i recommend the seller jagger our buyer persona content. So there's about six of them and they all very different motivations for example a newbie norm. If you've you know you're seller dealing with someone who is a newbie norm. Someone's brand new to the space like that doesn't necessarily mean they don't have business document or money they're just new to online business acquisition. They're probably going not have as much confidence. And so you're going to have to hold their hand a little bit more and that's okay For the seller. Payoff like yes. You might have to hold their hand a little bit more but when you give them a quality business you might have. Effectively changed their entire trajectory of their life in a positive way. Because like maybe knows just starting out and that's always going to be the biggest pool buyers talking to because there's always more people coming in right versus say like a investor yvonne who that would be more of your brand aggregate or someone who's raised millions of dollars to acquire businesses. Obviously their motivations going to be a lot different. And if you're a seller like say you're a amazon. Fda entrepreneurs does example works really well with And you have a one product business. So one hundred percent revenue comes from a single ecommerce product on amazon. Most buyers don't like that look at that and they're like darris seems soup. Exactly right like whoa. Because it's a two hundred thousand dollars of single skew like But an investor ivan. Not risky at all to them. They don't care. They'll buy one product businesses all day long because they raise millions of dollars. A your five hundred thousand dollar eight hundred thousand dollar. Even three million dollar one product business one hundred k. to them as long as it meets their other strict criteria cousin to them is not as risky. Because of all acquisitions are doing right. So this is these are important things to know as a seller going into who am i dealing with For things you can do before you ever sell is ask yourself like would i buy this business like just be honest with yourself would i like. Does this seem like a good deal. Why why does it seem like good deal. You start interrogating yourself. And if you're really honest with yourself There will probably be some answers. The actually seems like not a good deal away. Now i know. How do i fix it. Like how do i make this a good deal for myself right so you always like sellers are obsessed with evaluation for obvious reasons. There's a second. Part of selling a business called attractiveness so some sellers they'll be like Like say you're running this huge media site this You know michigan. Thirty thousand dollars a month affiliates. I and you have this bad ass team writers. Va's as all this all these systems and processes set up in the first thing the so as things like andrei increase my valuation by firing. My old team get rid of that expense. That's valuation boost right. But then the buyer cousin sees all the work that has to be done to maintain this business. He sees you working seventy hours a week. He's just going to discount. You're like hey. I'm going to eat iot. I'm going to hire a team. So i need this for a lower price because the net profit is going to be lower right so you almost get like no benefit for doing that. I always tell sellers like yes valuations imporant that think about. How can i make this business attractive as well. Now right now would you. Would you recommend people go and start a site from scratchers now. A good time to go. Try to find like a site that needs a little bit of love by the site. Flip it and make your multiple. Like what sort of path are you kind of recommending people. Go down if they want to get into this world. Yes so if you're just starting out. I probably wouldn't recommend buying I think it's good to get your feet wet with building. That is a long game. So you don't you don't need to build something until it's profitable. You should be building something to where you're comfortable with the system. So that's the important thing i always like. If you wanna go fast always recommend buying something and if you have some skills. I think it's really good to buy something. That doesn't look great on the outside or even on the inside right like you want to buy other people's problems it's very similar to real estate investing right like if you if i buy a house. That only has like cosmetic issues and smells terrible. No one wants to go in it right. I basically get the smell of discount by the south thirty thousand dollars. I painted to cover smell or whatever and now it's worse as sixty eighty thousand dollars. I just built all this equity for very little right so you. When you're buying it online business you want to look at it in the same way especially once you have skills now if your brand new buying online business. I probably wouldn't recommend buying too many problems because he probably don't have solve them if you're brand new to buy dot go like get this amazing deal because there's a site with us google penalty that's been banned from all its affiliate programs. Like you know you don't want to hunt for like the deal. You're almost always going to be better off buying a high quality business for fair value. Like that's always going to be better at least until you get some skills then you can look at doing this like discount. I call it by business. A discount right. You're looking for these problem of businesses problems like But that's what i recommend. So you wanna go fast. Buying is one hundred percent way faster than building because you already have all the data and you can do all this. Low hanging fruit stuff like cro on page optimization new content taking advantage of the high domain rating on the website. Right all of. You can't do your first starting out site ray like if you put The split testing software. Vw show up on your your ten page affiliates. I was one visitor. Burma like you're not going to change. You know you don't have a lot to work with yet. so
Evan Rachel Wood and Others Make Allegations of Abuse Against Marilyn Manson
"Know, we're going to start with a really awkward cumbersome. Yes, we need to have a very awkward conversation. We're not awkward. The awkward is coming from Maryland Manson. I mean, we are awkward, too. It's a long story. But today We need to start with Marilyn Manson because we began to hear about some controversy surrounding Well, Evan Rachel Wood made an announcement that Marilyn Manson horrific. Lee abused her for years. That story kind of blew up this week. Um, It's not that we didn't have reason to suspect Maryland. Manson was a problematic figure. We'll talk about that a little bit more in a minute, but I wanted to tell you that we kick things off today, learning That Maryland. Manson has already suffering the consequences of that controversy after being dropped by his record label amid these abuse. Allegations, and I'll just tell you a little bit about our read you a little bit of the statement. From His record label. Loma Vista Recordings. Quote in Light of today. That is yesterday's disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as their abuser. Loma Vista will cease to further promote his current album, effective immediately due to these concerning developments. We have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects, so that is Immediate Result to the controversy in the allegations that Again to put it bluntly blew up yesterday. Well, you know what I think is really interesting, and I'm sort of just arriving to the scene. Because I don't pay a lot of attention to Marylin Manson. It seems like the consequences have arrived a little too late. And I'm saying that because I read this op Ed, um from NBC News, written by Jill flip of IQ. Philip Philip. Oh, Vic. Sorry, Philip. Oh, Vic, who, by the way, is the author of a book called Okay, Boomer. Let's talk how my generation got left behind, and she basically says he guys f Y I Um, you're all arriving to this story about Maryland. Manson about Like 20 years too late. And what she does is she goes through. Conversations that have been had with both Evan Rachel Wood and Marilyn Manson. That basically say Hey, it didn't take you know it didn't take You know a Sherlock Holmes detective to figure out that Evan Rachel Wood has been talking about this. And Maryland, Manson has been talking about his treatment of her all along. And it goes back to, um, a few years ago when Evan will Evan Rachel what has always been very open about the fact that she was in an abusive relationship when she was in her late teens. But more specifically, she actually testified in a in an effort to get a law passed called the Phoenix Act. And this is the Phoenix Act is The the act in the state of California that extends the statute of limitations on abusive relationships. Okay, so she testified before Congress. About her experience in an abusive relationship, and in this in this testimony, she talked about a man she dated when she was 18 years old. Okay, again. Hello, 18. It does not take A private investigator to figure out that that was Maryland Manson. They were they had a public relationship. She talks about? How he groomed her when he began growing her when she was about 18 years old. He physically abused her, deprived her of sleep, starved her and stocked her when she tried to leave him by calling her incessantly. Now. Meanwhile, Over here in 2009 in an interview with Spin magazine, Marilyn Manson is talking about this very thing, he says of his relationship with Evan Rachel Wood. In 2009. Okay, So that's 12 years ago? Yep. He says he called Evan Rachel Wood 158 times while self mutilating and then blamed her for it. He said. Quote. I wanted to show her the pain she put me through. It was like I want you to physically see what you've done. So sit with that for a second. He's calling her 158 times while he is inflicting Pain on himself. To show her what he has done to her and then other others, So I mean I could go on. But there's other stories about him in another interview, saying that he has fantasies about smashing her skull with a sledgehammer.
Markets Sell Off Ahead of an Earnings Extravaganza
"We start tonight with a major market so off the s. and p. five hundred closing down two and a half percent of that is its biggest loss in three months. The loss is accelerating into the close with every sector finishing the day. Lower the drop coming as we saw more outside moves and names like game stop. Amc and express so what went on today guy. What's your theory well. There are a lot of theories obviously game. Stop is what everybody and what i say everybody literally everybody turn on radio stations. To doesn't matter what subject game stop is coming up. And i'm not suggesting that's the cause but i think some of the root causes the fact that volatility was too damp. And when you see a day and listen markets down six hundred points or so seems like a big deal in in the broad scope of things. It's not but then you look at the vix going from twenty one and a half where thick it closed around last couple of days to thirty seven pretty much a straight line. I think that's telling you something. I think people are underestimating. Some of the headwinds here risk people are being complacent net manifested itself in the vicks. And when you see a move of that magnitude on one day again. Generally benign day given the context of what's happened that to me is the underlying theme. And that's what we should be concerned about. There are certainly a lot of reasons why investors might want to take some profits as we are still close to record highs karen but still do you take a look at what is going on. With the most heavily shorted stocks in the market and maybe think their margin calls going on that that people are right sizing their portfolio taking off risk and that is causing some ripple effect in terms of having to sell some of the winners in order to cover these shorts. I guess it makes perfect sense that that would be happening. I i mean you know. We heard about giant covers today in game. Stop the whole thing that we talked about it on our call midday and you know it just it as an investor who focuses on fundamentals which i know it makes me really old school but this kind of action makes me think all right. The game at the moment is really rigged is the right word. But it makes me want to Take off some positions. Just because i think this is a volatile market will have. We'll have a like. I said six hundred and change seems like a lot really wasn't there was nothing that powell said. That was really surprising at all. Just maybe risk premium coming in a little so multiple high flying multiple stocks. Come down maybe people taking some of those. I don't know this vic's jump is really concerning not that the vic's jump it's it's more as a sign of sort of uncertainty in the market and. I'm one of those feeling uncertain of always. I always have some protection on a day like today. I'm gonna lose a bunch of money. No doubt
The C64 'Maxi' Review - Full-Sized Commodore 64 Replica
"Retro video game consoles are pretty awesome. But i just got the one that i've been anticipating the most. I'm going to review these sixty four by retro games next. This is tweet hello everyone. Welcome to hands on tech. I'm jason howell. So if i had to trace passion for technology back to one key item from my childhood be pretty easy for me to put my finger on it. And that's the commodore sixty four. That's the one of the most popular computer systems. Especially at the time. I think it was known as the most popular computer system in the eighties. And i had a commerce sixty four for quite a few years. When i was a kid and i just had so many memories of connecting to bulletin boards with my three hundred baud modem downloading commercial games that i probably wasn't supposed to have just trading floppy disks with friends at school. I mean this defined my childhood. So when i heard that retro games was gonna put out a commodore sixty four mini console. I was elated now in twenty eighteen. They released these c. Sixty four mini. And it's about half the size of a normal commodore sixty four included some games but you could also tap into it to basically run any disk images from the congress sixty four that you wanted. I thought that was neat. Until i heard that the keyboard was completely functioning which is an issue i have a retro raspberry pi with retro pie on it and i've emulated commerce sixty four many times but not having the commodore sixty four keyboard actually changes. The experience are certain keys to re map is just not the same thing. So then i was super excited. When retro games announced that they were doing a maxi version known as the c sixty four happens to be what i have right here the full size version with a functioning keyboard and it is awesome especially for someone like me on the perfect person to give this a spin. So let's take a look at my experience with the c sixty four first. Let's talk about the hardware itself and boy. Am i happy that i waited for the full size keyboard release. The design is impressively faithful to the original bread. Been model of the commodore sixty four. There was a sand papery texture that surrounds the keys on the keyboard that to my memory is pretty spot on the like chunk of the space bar and how it feels when you slam. That feels just right. Totally takes me back and the keys themselves. They're pretty good. There may be a tad wobbly compared to my memory of the original commerce sixty four but thankfully typing this review on it. So i don't care as long as i can hit that run. Stop key when a game tells me too about the only real difference that i can tell from the original. Is that the shift. lock key. doesn't lock down into place when pressed like did on the original. It is a software toggle so it still has the same functional use is just not quite as satisfying all in all. I'm very pleased with how faithful this keyboard replica is. It's a joy to us where things are very different from. The original is the side and the back of the unit. Basically the i o ports on the side is a power button that you just tap and hold power honor office different from the switch on the original. Also three usb ports for plug near joysticks in on the side or other usb peripherals on the back is a micro usb port for power and aced out for your modern television or monitor. Something you can't do with the original commerce sixty four and another usb port and. I'm super pleased that they included that additional rear facing port because that allows me to keep a thumb drive plugged in there. When i want to add more games which you can do and we'll talk about that. My only real complaint is simply how light and in some ways kind of hollow. The entire system feels the original. Had some heft to it. You know one thousand nine hundred eighty technology and this new version contains a small arm computer with five hundred twelve megs of memory so it's pretty svelte. This nation system running vice after all also no true comer sixty four peripherals can be plugged in here at least not easily so no user port no port or expansion port. Now packed in the box is this joystick. Which as you can see has a lot more buttons than any commerce sixty four joystick. Ever had really you just end up with one if you're using a traditional commerce four controller. There's a lot more here and we'll talk about how that interfaces but definitely not quite the slick stick that. I adored back in the day but it does the job. It is super clicky. Pretty loud characteristic. Personally i never really cared much for in those old school joysticks. There's a large button on both sides. That makes it usable for lefties and righties and along. The bottom is a row of specialized buttons that tap into the carousel interface of the sixty. Four which i'll get to as well as for allowing specialized functions during game play so you can load and save states. You can open a virtual keyboard which on the maxi the large version of the c. Sixty four is is unnecessary. Really and then of course you can exit out to the main carousel screen to load a new game. The stock joystick is really kind of essential. If you want to jump in and out of games quickly. It's a bummer. There aren't other designs to choose from. Because like i said it does the job but it's definitely not my favorite for long stretches. Bluetooth support is not included But some people in forums have had luck with different. Modern controllers plugged in via usb. So assume that you're probably using the stock controller unless you really wanna go diving deep and experimenting you might be able to take your favorite controller and plug it in here but it's probably not going to be super easy out of the box now a mini console releases often only as good as the games that are included on it and if you check wikipedia it says that the commodore sixty four originally had around ten thousand commercially released software for the platform. So no matter how. You chop down to disappoint somebody. The c sixty four ships with you guessed it sixty four titles out of the box including a few vic twenty. Titles a firmware update. They you should. Flash brought another seven games to the carousel and some additional functionality. Over although game selection is pretty paltry and my opinion. It doesn't quite match my own nostalgic experienced. But like i said everybody has a different experience. I really appreciate the epochs heavy offerings here. So you've got impossible mission of all the games games summer winter games the jump man series of pretty much many of epochs is a classic titles are in there. There's also a few other favorites. You radium perr odroid. There's some good games in there. Don't get me wrong. But many of these titles simply were not on my radar when i was a kid so when it comes to nostalgia i'm really looking for titles that i know and going to get to more on that in a second but gameplay itself is as smooth as it needs to be. I didn't find any games that didn't work the way i remember them Playing it is an emulation approach though so consider that. It's not going to be perfect. But i didn't detect anything that clued me into it being ambulation. I have emulated the congress sixty four on the raspberry pi and some keys. Don't exist on the keyboard that you have to plug into the back of the raspberry pi in order to do it. So like i said earlier. Having this keyboard makes the game play experience that much. Better the carousel which used very frequently with the c. Sixty four is thoughtfully done as well. You've got some game. Cover art some gameplay screenshots and then a description of the game along with details like who the composer was which personally is a c sixty four aficionado. I can say that super important. The ship is is an amazing music. Chip that was included in the sixty. Four this dozen a perfect job of emulating it and it is really nice to know if hubbard produced not track that you're about to listen to either our display options if you wish to add some crt style scan lines to the experience though. Personally i kept those off for the most part so sixty four games out of the box pretty limited when you're talking about ten thousand total titles but it isn't a deal breaker because if you format a thumb drive to fat thirty two you can add play d sixty four disk images added to your heart's content though you might have to do some cleanup work. I in order to make that happen. The integrated file manager only two hundred fifty six files in a single folder. So if you have a library of thousands of games you're going to shift everything around into their own folders in order to get access to all of those within the interface or you can tap into a community driven upgrade for the c. Sixty four called project carousel. Usb this actually adds hundreds more games directly into the carousel interface so it's as easy to pick and choose as the stuff that ships with the sixty four. Now do note. Project carousel may violate copyright rules. So you're going to want to be sure to check your local laws before diving in check with your own ethics and see if you feel comfortable with that and if it's legal for you to do so but if you do choose to explore this it's super easy. It's non-destructive doesn't override the firmware permanently. Basically you just throw the image files on a thumb drive and then flash the firmware temporarily after boot up to access all the games in that interface power off. The original firmware returns to stock.

"Just took a shower I just walked outside. Humid used to you get used to it and. Help moisturizes skin. You know we don't get as many wrinkles down here. Oh. least that's what they say anyway. But anyway besides that had been working on the the rocker a little bit. If you follow me on Instagram of posted a little bit about that I finally. Got All of the join ARY done for it. So I had the legs down rockers done the spindles. Done fitted the Chris Royal Mortis Tim fitted and the arm, the armrest fitted so. He's done now just down to making everything look pretty so Carbon the seat so Thanks. So yeah, I've got to spend was done and hopefully this week I'll get the get the crest rail done. So in work on arms and then the seat were more good to go. There's actually a light at the end of the tunnel here. Amazing. So. But anyway. So Vic quoted you've been working on legitimate recently I just walked into the light as you were talking about. I'd just finished Timur. So has a a series on fine woodworking for a pedestal dining table Mensa I don't like building other people's stuff, but I had friends of mine that they bug me for years and years when I was a still working I'm retired now I retired a couple years ago. Now to build a table for them and I was like Oh. Yeah. Sure. I'll do that when I'm retired and anyway finally they were. Like well, you're going to do it now it's like okay. So they like this particular design when when I was, you know because I usually throw a bunch of photos at somebody is like well, here's here's this type of table here's so it was yes, pedestal table and here's a trestle table. Here's the farmhouse table and they liked his table and it was so specific I mean as far as what they liked about it I was like, okay well, I'll build it and. It was actually a challenging table, the bill because there was a like. Some. The setup of my table. So I actually had find to my table saw to to make sure that I had it dialed in just perfectly but. Yeah because it's just having it like not only plum and square, but you know just having a blade like just. So when I took off my the the mortices off of the the band saw, and then went over the able to clean them up. I was clean him up without a without a chisel. So you just you just going to the table saw and you're like. Dislike. In some cases I was going up almost three inches and not just like at played has to be perfect to be able to run that up and be smooth across her and so yeah, I had to work on that but tinning. Today, the hill. I. Well, I have for the mortices I use the the multi outer Okay. Bought one of those from Darryl appeared actually and I love that thing on my God I've tricked mine out to have because the one thing with multi router is they have horrible horrible collection and I don't know if you guys remember I'm a little anal when it comes to dust collects I was I was just remembering like the videos of of you going to shop. Dust collection and it was roads real. Look perfectionist dusk dean in lighting and lighting up. and. I, wish the installation stuff down you got. But yes. I am put the shark You know our know what's what's the Panther outer so They have a dust strahl that's basically like. A CNC and I was able to get that from them and retrofitted to the front. The only thing is I have to use four inch mill bits. So I I'm I'm stuck to basically dimensions of. One eight inch three eighth inch, and a half inch bits. Four inches long porches long. Yeah. Also. I mean, do you ever get to where those are deflecting or I mean that's you kind of control the federal I broke I broke my eighth dench a bit that's long. Eight inches four inches long four inches long. Yeah. You Bend that a little bit I've I've snapped eighth inch drill bit that's two inches long man just the thrill I can imagine Japan Roger Functions where you're kind of emmy going on tendon like that. You're putting all sorts of weird stresses on it. Luckily, everything's inside of something you know yes. I had recently band saw blade break and everybody's talking about didn't that scare the hell out is like well, no, it's just the I had a loud pop and yeah, go saying but. But it's it's you know it feels often side the house, right? So right? And also. It didn't startled me too much but Yeah. I just like when I was making a May decide a 'cause I'm really I. Make every time. I make a table I always make a set coasters for it so Look on your organs are GonNa feed you. I have a Jig that you know and and yeah. So I broke immediately the first time I made the the first Mortis I made in the the base of the the coaster I guess holder I was a little sixteenth inch Mortis and and I bit immediately because I was trying to take big of a it. So luckily I had another one on hand and chuck it up and kept on making everything, but I just took really shallow passes really slow and But yeah, that's always a thing with with the. But yeah. It was able to actually with that the that destroyed from the Panorama able to actually get a multilayered where it's you know it's a heavy stuff still falls, but I don't have anything in the air. So And That's. The one thing that I i. i. just I wouldn't be able to even deal with multilateral if it wasn't for that. But the moderator such a cool machine I, just love it. So it was cool. It is cool. Well before we get into a little bit more of people that are not familiar with the Hubbard which there's gotTa be maybe two out there. But tell us a little bit about your background and you know how you got into woodworking and whatnot yeah. Well, I was I. Started out basically the a friend of Mine Ken he was Of Like my mentor because I grew up in a single family household, you know my mom raised us and stuff. So I wasn't ex- I wasn't you know introduced to Working on cars or anything like that. You know so So anyway, he was a a in construction and and had been a former out at the hampered plant where I live up here where the Hanford nuclear plant is. Near near me and but he ended up being a general contractor after that building houses and stuff and and. Over the years luckily, I never had to you know frame for a living because I Oh always always the ground crew but But that's how I got used to working with tools and stuff was just I'd worked for him off the books doing a construction and I learned how to operate hand tools and cut to a and all that kind of fun stuff and and that my wife and I. We bought a nine hundred ten craftsman style house in. Kennewick. Washington and just. Like we'll baby you know it's just paint and cosmetics is. Get. An eight years later you know we gutted the house literally gutted the house from this studs end, it was all balloon, which is the total I mean it's a totally different animal than than what people do today but yeah. We kind of did you say a lewd framing? So like so this is a a a craftsman style house nineteen ten..

"On time. A few questions I wanted to ask but the one thing alone nail and you might have hinted it just was so. How do you stay crave like how did you think of evolving your style always to keep it fresh or let it go? I don't WANNA become repetitive. I don't get stuck for like a look and that sort of go. How do I? What elements g mixed together to kind of find the inspiration? I spend a Lotta time alone especially when I want to be created. You know what I'll do is I'll I'll shut myself off from the world. What seconds. Yeah Day Out literally stay quiet you know. Be to myself. What few days? Now go out and search for inspiration. You know some days. I mean. I use my camera because I need to make sure my mind is fresh and he may be stuck in the loop on. I try not to watch too many people I try not to like obsess over. What they're doing over there success because a will work friend doesn't work me you know. We're not trying to also dig deep creativity. I try to really really add some type of emotion to what it is no emotion. Then it can't work for me. You know like has to be something that like that shows time and effort in in a lot of a lot of emotion a lot of a lot of everything everything you put it into it you know whether be me involved my friends and loved one. You know or story that I just WANNA convey even with a photo of the photo the photo as has to convey a certain type of promotion. Yeah no that's that's a big part of my creativity is motion. Yes okay that's interesting. 'cause he's the consistent theme thoughtfulness. Let your thoughts as you said like when you shooting the buildings. It was like if it's not right. I'm not GONNA do it. I'll tell you won't be rushed into it with my career and not going to be rushed to think about is right for me. There is a there is a lot of thought that goes in which is probably why it works so good because there's a lot going on in sub-conscious all the time thinking planning learning and then when you go to and you go right now is the time I can bring together. Yeah that's interesting. Is You because we also have days where? I mean I have. I have like videos already done. Have ideas already in my head. But it's like sometimes I'll wait until the feeling is right. Yeah and then like sometime in my head and I have my laptop break before me. I can wake up some days and the three to five or something. I hear a song as soon as I hear a song idea. Instantly comes to my head like you know even with a few videos that I recently put out a dislike just by hearing one song I was instantly create and I was able to build a story around it. You know that the song has convince certain type of emotion has been emotion that I'm very familiar with me to you. Know to produce content produce. It's interesting because that's the that's the sort of wonderful. But ultimately quite frustrating element of creativity could be given it months. You've just done it when it was striking. It's not sounding too easily replicate so thing exactly right in in one of the hardest things as soon as that You know when it comes to social media and being a concentrator sometimes you can have the analytics and you can have people trying to hit you up and say you know. What do you do on your phone off? You're not working. You're not focused in just because they don't see you on the instagram will active on instagram. You feel like not actively working. Yes outside instagram unbelievably. Exactly I I love I love it. Love it but sometimes it can be sometimes it can be you know heartache. You know because you know. Sometimes they all the engagements and this good or is that you know like sometimes you feel like you're rule by algorithm and you know that's that's that's not hi. I'm a person who likes to go out and do things you know. I I like to go out and break rules man you know like I. I like to do things that that don't that don't always make sense. Yes you go curious. Mind you break rules. Because you'll you'll wondering what's on the other side. If that rule is not going to break rules pain author. Mccoy is not that kind of. I'm curious to know what's up. It's open a building a behind that wool under there and that someone is so. I'm curious I walk. That will look like and I think that curiosity is what keeps you sharp. Isn't it's kind of like say that's why you'll you'll go and go if I'm going to go on a paraglider or I'm going to film a love angle of a skateboarding. It's all just WanNa test new things now. I think it's I think like I said there's a visit them crave intelligence going on all the time. Which is the impression unit? I always say this. Kate them not being condescending but I was like these super talented and now he's making us all the work. I was deeply impressed. So all I can say we've super-busy. I really appreciate your time. "Bump up on PA. I don't know if I should be doing that loudly Vic Kenley. I'm I'm in the backyard at Vic Henley's apartment on the upper east side in New York City on a crisp fall evening sixty degrees. I geico Mike. I didn't realize that you're not used to this. Is You went double fancy owned what I've I've been doing this long enough. I think I'm GONNA give vic his own micro the home after all these years I know. Okay Oh just walking opening hangar name always good I I I love it back here man I I miss. I had an apartment in New York City where we did have outdoor space like this. Nothing beats it. I have electric and water so I can actually come out. Aren't sitting here and have morning coffee outside in between now you know you might get. You might get a little pigeon every now and then we're kind of really we've killed most of them. What what do you mean you killed most of the pigeons? Well we had a bad problem a few years ago in between the buildings. You can't see over there but somebody that traveled a lot. Let them put a nest under there. A window unit out once they make the necessary coming back for one hundred years. Yes and she's gone and we're touching base with email and phone we can't get them out and their babies babies and out there screeching in the president of the co-op lives next door because everybody's mad and instead of trying to figure out should put up the spikes right. You do the fake owls. Yeah Yeah I gotta be pistol and so I'm already on the roof Coming down the fire scraping. I'M GONNA shoot them nestled in pretty good. So it's ricocheting off the living living being shooting pigeons and New York City. Trying to off my roof out fifteen shots let me go that jet hang up but I'll my my neighbor abor caused me. He goes okay. I know what you're doing because we've talked about this but a thousand buildings around us. That could call the police right now. I know there's a man on a roof with a pistol. Your I never thought of that course because there's a pistol. Oh you still have that southern l.. Anyway then scale down the fire scraping took broom-handled rate the nest out. Yeah and then beat the babies to death and then the parents came back later that day and then we I shot them with the pistol and then they're all gone. There's like there's only one tree left where they sit here and poop bonus and so you beat baby pigeon. Absolutely they're vermin there. What do you mean verbal vermin? Well unless you WanNa make pat hang on hang on let me let Jordan. And he's he's been on a beer run for for twenty minutes. I wanted one became a thing I know and judd is Vic Hanley's neighbor but anyway there. Hey you can enjoy a New York city sirens McKinley. Let's Jut in podcasts. Noises kind of creeped out. That vacant McKinley just admitted that he beat baby pigeons to death after trying to shoot them from the roof of his building with a BB gun. I can't kill anything. What's up John? We're in the middle podcasting. Man and McKinley just told a horrific story about killing baby pigeons regions. I don't think you could kill anything with the with the word baby in front of VIC. Okay I'm very I'm Bobby Kover maybe Cobras Maybe Anaconda they know that I mean I felt very guilty when I was trying to get my S- out of my apartment when I was in festival and they got stuck on the glue traps. I pretty much broke down in tears. It was so damned depressing. And you're out here. Beating baby pitches. Well if we stay with. I think I've told this story before speaking a glue trap my first department by myself. Yeah I had a mouse and I've been there about a year and I'm watching football on Sunday. And he comes out of the closet. He runs right along the wall and he dives in the box walks of the air conditioning. Everybody's gotTa Win unless you're you know rich like it so he's disappearing and I'm sitting. I'm so lazy I watch him all of Sunday. Run back and he stays right against the wall and the closet sealed off. I'm telling you Houdini couldn't got how this closet factor about the fourth run. I take everything out of the closet. There's not a crack there I mean it is Pristine Lee sealed. He N- in there. Yeah and so well I'll go get a glue traps. I put it on his path and and went to bed about three o'clock in the morning when their turn on their years and I was so happy I brought him straight up to I love and I'm like you mother fucker you you brought up and then I went over and I opened the window I lived above. I was three floors. But there's a restaurant had a big roof garden in the back. I really wanted to throw him out the window gently and hoped he would drift down in land with the glue trap flat and I was going to watch him out the window. Die Over the next three or four days and then because I knew bad weather was coming in every day I'd wake up. I get my coffee going. I washed it turned into a rotting bone carcass. It just it made me so happy because he taught me for like a month I it was on for a month and I know it's a miles onto it doesn't no matter but first of all I was just happy that that helicopter down gently then he lands and not leave town come back and it was just a little mini. Dinosaur mouse bone own exhibit. It's so funny. This reminds me of a few things. So one Denis leary's bits that he stole from Bill Hicks probably because you said it was just a mouse and it doesn't matter and Dennis leary famous bid about. We only saved the cute animals right so they're vermin but you're you're on the level. You're on the tree. Environment for deer. Sneak some things are helpers. I'll switch right. Yes they are. Yeah but after that horrific killing baby pigeon story I I was thinking go somewhere else with the mouse. Became your pet. No because I had one thing of the sugar gliders there is well yeah of course that's the of course but I had a mouse in my apartment and my first thought was I'm GonNa keep it as as a pet. My thought wasn't to kill the thing until I realized I was fasted. And then you know all rats were off now you know now we have to play out this war in my apartment my neighbor Kathleen has a professor at Columbia. She always tells me that. It's better to have mice than rats because they don't live together. I know iffy see. I didn't know that I heard that. And she's the one and then yes right now my mice thing goes back to again. I'm sure I've told you this. The original mouse story is we had one in our house when I was a kid and so Mike Interior gone so I'm probably about nine nine. I'm probably ten done And we see him just like the one in my. It's just it's driving my mother insane and she said the glue trap didn't exist back then so she setting up traps everywhere. She's listening and she finally he made. I eat a mistake and he got trapped in the air vent. That's above the stove. You turn the fan on. Of course there was like a little tube thing course and I thought I told you this. Oh I know she hears masters a million lies just me and her. Yeah God she's been after him for three weeks just like me and so she goes. Get A pillowcase. and Go from the from the things that Irag Google Rack Powell get some. She's ready to throw a pillowcase. I walk into the kitchen. We got all the lights. She's got a screwdriver screwdriver. She's taken the fan apart. She's making me hold the pillowcase beneath she goes now look when this group falls out the unit is GonNa fall into the pillowcase and so was the remarks and then he can't climate. It's call sure and so sure. Click last group Bang. There is now we got him. She reaches right in our polls out the peas and puts his crew back. That goes with the stove. And he's in and he's scrambling scrambling and I'm I'm looking at me. He's just adorable little mouth and so here we thought she doesn't say a word.

It wouldn't be long before he was old enough to sit on the throne of his late father. Dust taking all of Boris's power with him. The ambitious regent couldn't let that happen and so he had the boy and his mother exiled to a small town in western Russia out of sight out of mind. The two Vassilyev ickes.
