"Obviously unless you see some team like really see him as an every day not every day is I'm baseball but an every down safety That can play defense than than you're then you're getting into more money there in terms of average and in terms of total gross valued the contract. Just because you have to get in line with the safety positions but I think teams will be on the Bengals as Accord special teams player. But he really probably hasn't best here in Cincinnati and I think the Bengals don't have any issue paying those types of players What they're worth a special teams players and those types of contracts are in that two to three million dollar a year range something very manageable and I'd be all in favor of resigning facts like a three year Nine million ten million dollars total Contract which you know very palatable on a yearly average basis and he certainly brings the value there because of his dominance will special teams. Like you mentioned with Brandon. Wilson Wilson is actually a restricted free agent. So he's not unrestricted. He can't become unrestricted at the bengals. Don't extend a tender to him. But that's that's not gonNA happen. They will tender him The question is what? What tender will they place on him? You have a couple of options for with regard to restricted free agents. You can place a first round tender which Which is the highest value? That's going to be about four point. Six million this year according to over the cap but will know those numbers officially when the salary caps actually said that would mean that you play supplanter on him. He signs it if he signs with another team and the Bengals don't match the bengals get a first round. Pick the BENGALS AREN'T GONNA put a first round tender on him and no teams give. I hit for him no team you also have been a second round pick an original round tender and then just what's called the right of first refusal tender so the original round tender is just over two million and Wilson was a sixth round. Pick so if they lose him They would get a sixth round. Pick and return. I think some team may may be willing to to lose a six round. Pick for him so for that reason. I think the bengals likely place very likely. Place actually almost guaranteed. They're going to place a second round tender on Brandon Wilson and That comes in according to over the caps projections just over three point. Two million on a one year deal and I think he signs that and maybe looks rather offers but again no team is going to give up a second round. Pick for will Wilson on even though I think he's good player what he does but I think that guarantees his services for at least a year and then I suspect just like fetch fetch is unrestricted. So you can't put the restricted tenders. Don't apply to him. Obviously but just like I want feedback on a modest two or three year deal. I want ran and most of my i. I think the bengals would stand that second round tender at just over three point two million and then it wouldn't shock me if they do what they did with Alex Ericsson on the other side of the ball couple years ago extended to a modest two or three year extension at a very favorable. We're talking less than five million. Ap Wide Contract so like two years ten million or maybe two years or three years Fifteen million at the high end just because like you mentioned. Wilson probably has more defensive ability than than than fetch does at this point but obviously then you factor in his returnability on special teams and And that's phenomenal. You do have to account for the fact that I mean is the kickoff. GonNa go away. I mean it's not in the XFL. Obviously we don't know how many other rules are. GonNa try to adopt but and you see you hear the rumblings of whether or not the NFL wants to do away with the kick off so if they do know. Wilson's value decreases. They're a little bit. you know he's not a punt returner. You Got Erickson who? I'm not a fan of his punt returner anymore but obviously naive Darius Philip so I think he's in line to take the reins there so his value depending on the nature of the kickoff which we'd really don't know his value may decrease a little bit although I do think he's not just Pigeonholed as being a an elite returner. Even though he is he can do more things than that. So bottom line. I think I'll extend him the second round restricted free agent tender since he's an RFA. Not Not an unrestricted guy. And then I think they do look to secure his services beyond that one year of the restricted. Free agent tender. I think they'd like to do it. that way just goes in avoid tim becoming an unrestricted free agent the following year and potentially losing him and you lock up a good young player that on a very reasonable incredibly reasonable deal. Both those guys are great players that have around and I think that's a little. Is the position a different way? If you can signed those two you're okay safety in you. You've got four four at least good ones you know like I said. I think that they should be interested at thirty three. If one of the three guys I mentioned were there. I think they should all be play for that spot. I don't love the draft for safety's And I and I hate using those terms but I don't. I don't know past that you're going to get a guy who's going to push You know for a starting role but I think there are. People might be similar to fetch and Wilson who can play variety roles. Be Special teamers. Brooks's a guy that comes to mind so With the percents that and and and so you know solidifying some depth at that position when you have some uncertainty at the corner position over the next couple years would would definitely be you know. Be Nice to have at least part of the fuel short I yeah I agree I do think though. Maybe I'm in the minority. I think I'm in the minority when Bengals fans and probably even with regard to your perspective on this. I do think that resigning both veg. And whether they just do the tender to Wilson and not resign him do the tender and then also resign them obviously that solidifies the depth there and and I think up see with their status. Their UNSIGNED FOR NEXT YEAR SHOT. Williams might concerns about him as I mentioned before is dipping play. He's only through this year. He's an unrestricted free agent. Next year. So I am Jesse. I'm very high on even though he but you mentioned rightfully he had a sophomore slump. A little bit I think. Safety is is an underrated need for this team. I honestly I. Some people may not may feel differently. I wouldn't be surprised at the BENGALS target a guy. A veteran guy may get cut from a team. I don't have any names on the top of my head but you always see safeties cut but I want to shock. If the bengals try to upgrade the position maybe not substantially. I do think they want to get both veg and Wilson back but if you look long term. I would look to upgrade. I would look honestly cut sean. I like the guy. The guy is an absolute warrior. He's given his all. I liked him since his days at Georgia great player. But I think Sean Williams best days are behind him. They would clear just over four million cap. I wouldn't be totally shocked to see a sought Sean Williams cut although I could see him just playing out the final year of his deal as well but even if that happens and even if they reassigned in Wilson here Williams is done after this year. They're not going to resign him again even if he plays out this year so I think safety is concerned. You mentioned those college guys. Even though you're not that high on the class and whole you mentioned those two guys you know the kid from Alabama. Certainly he's there at thirty three. I think consideration is going to be given but I think the I'm just in the minority. I think the Bengals can upgrade that position. I I'm not comfortable with these. I mean I want these guys back and I think like you said it. Solidifies the depth in the back into that room but I think they need to start thinking. Hey what are long term plans? Jessie Bates looks like we mentioned. He struggled a little bit later. But I think long term. He's he is a solution But there's been a rampage. I think he has a special ability to pick off ball. I think there's a miscommunication defensively. He there was some times when it didn't look into whether what they're doing between him. And and the corners. Honestly you're jumping a lot of Of Dig Routes and leave him post and I mean there is some funky things going on there. So you know. And he's a young guy who came in learned defense and then had the core turnaround learn defense. And and as a you know positionally just like the quarterback. Can I add defaults to leadership role? You know free safety where you're at the secondary you're kind of the guy that has to talk to the rest of the secondary too so. I think a lot might have been on him mentally not that he can't handle the you know Just I think there's probably on him so I'm I'm looking for bounceback for him. I'm expecting to bounce back. I'd like to see them. Keep him out of the box because I don't think he does well. They're not using his strengths but The other interesting thing about the safety position is is drake re Patrick. I doing the show tonight. Dan Yeah it is interesting thing about the safety position because if dennard leaves does that create a situation where you're playing with three safeties more and maybe Wilson and almost a nickel to player. Maybe ends up. You know rocket down a little bit more next to Sean Williams and some of the substitution packages. So you know. Those guys could become more valuable because we don't know whether they whether they signed a replacement for Dennard use use Phillips Tran Role Of. Bk Web you know like wherever they bring in there isn't isn't going to be Dennard And he's not going to be able to do all the same things in a great example. Philips is not going to be Dennard against the run game now so if it's if it's Phillips then maybe there's a nickle package and then there's a there's a nickle package worth Wilson Fed or somebody like that in there. I am. Yeah I agree with you. They did go through. Safety Looks Occasionally last year but I think your point if they do that not only does it. Increase the value on the other side of that coin is then increases. The need to really amplify that room. Because now you're a guy pulls a Hammy guy gets an or an angle turned. He's gotTa miss some time. Maybe several weeks. You've got to make sure that that room is adequately stocked. And you got guys. Currently trayvon Henderson. Who had a nice preseason? A COUPLE OF SEASONS GO. I think he does have some potential as well as developmental guy. But your point they're gonNa have to address this at some point whether it's free agency whether it's a cap casualties signing Like an Eric Wet. Never tired obviously but You know a guy like that is a cap cut a veteran guys come in and solidify and maybe you put put him inside a nickel corner when the three safety package but if that's the if that's the rocket they go depending on what what happens with. Dennard as you mentioned that it just increases the need to to really solidify that room because you're gonNA need those bodies in their absolute will shockingly. I think we've actually talked longer about defense that we talked about offense. So we're we'll wrap this up but Real Quick GonNa ask you Obviously the big big news of the off-season is Joe Bureau What is your job? Borough calm you put me on the spot here Matt? Yeah it is the big one. He didn't obviously with all this nonsense and it is nonsense about him not wanting to play or him. He hasn't denied he hasn't said he doesn't WANNA pull AIDS Atty. I mean it's all nonsense boroughs going to be the back. He's going to be a bangle I think he's he has no problem with the two. I think he's actually going to fully embrace it here and he's going to be adored by the fan base and and he's a.

"You'll Greg Jarrett is franchised right now who knows what's going to happen with him. So there a team that they need to get a lot better on defense very quickly. And I think this draft is gonna be where needs to happen. We ask you a question. Where would you rank Matt Ryan amongst NFL quarterbacks? I it's pretty high. I mean, I don't know exactly what the ranking would be right now. But you know, last time we did this. It was after his MVP season. So I think that probably threw it off a tiny bit. But I'd have to look at a list. I it's definitely in the top ten. I mean by clearly the season he had last year. It's one of the more impressive seasons. Tonight agree ever had. I agree. It's just because the help wasn't necessarily there all the time this advantages weren't there. And that's why that's what I'm saying. Is that with how good he's playing right now, you really want to try to take advantage of this. And last season was the exact opposite of that. And that's why I think this season is so important for them in this draft is so important for them. So what what what specifically are you after there? I think they need pass rushing help. Yup. It both on the interior and outside. I mean, Vic Beasley Dan Quinn was not shy this week essentially said Vic Beasley had one year of really good production and a couple of years of some production. That's about as blatantly as you can call out a former first round pick. So I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, I think this is gonna be the last year he has. There and then tack McKinley has developed slowly you have Jerry again, Greg Jarrett on the franchise tag. And no one really next to Grady Jarrett. DOJ Senate was their third round pick last season. If you want to roll with him, but I think they just need pop on that defensive line a guy like at Oliver's somebody. I've heard thrown around a bunch. There's a chance ninety he's not even there anymore based on how he just tested today, but they really need athleticism and dynamic force on their front for that's the number one element right now. Yeah. And I would also say that health is so important there. You they lost basically the entire middle of their defense by October first. Yep. So that's one of those things where they're already going to have a jump because as long as everybody's held it there's going to be that jump. So you get one of the one or two of those guys in there. I totally agree with you that that's a real team worth watching..

"It's a huge visit weekend, football and basketball. We'll start with we'll start with basketball because you're talking about one guy. Seven footer out of Woodward academy down in Atlanta, Georgia the number to center prospect, if a twenty twenty class number fourteen prospect overall his name is Walker Kessler kid is being recruited by everyone on his official visit to Michigan this weekend. And he is the prototypical giant Eli big, man. He is a John could cook put up put up an archetype of Eka if he can have a model? Of what his big guys, look like it would be a seven footer Beckett shoot threes that could put it on the floor that can play with his back to the basket that can pass the basketball. This is a five star prospect that is an even better kid, then he is player. He is the nephew of former NBA NBA center. Alec Kessler who who passed away back in. I think two thousand seven but you might remember he was a standout at Georgia first round draft pick for the Miami Heat. I believe back in one thousand nine hundred ninety. And so here you have another seven footer in the family his dad late at Georgia's. Well, his brother played at Georgia. Also, so big time Georgia tie for this kid, but I down to Atlanta sat down and spoke with them. And he said, look, they're always have a heart. But the past is not going to definitely determine my future. I'm gonna go out and look for a good fit. Look at schools who use that. You've bigs like me that showcase the ability to play on the perimeter. And in the post that's up Javi line. And went a college town. That's a place like Ann Arbor. Right. So he was the Ann Arbor. So we'll see how it goes. But he's on his official. Visit this weekend. Over to the ba- the football side of things, and it's it's a gigantic weekend. They have one of the best athletes in the entire country young man from Charlotte. Harding, high school name, Grigoris crowds. He is about six three hundred thirty five pounds. I went to watch this kid last fall. He had closed. He had over two hundred yards rushing in the game lineup up at defensive and had a couple of sacks. He was the number one running back in the country and said, I think I want to go to college to play linebacker. Maybe maybe play some running back to it. So Clemson who's another team? And they said fi you could be Vic Beasley right, Vic Beasley win as a running back turned into a first round draft. Pick defensive end. I talked to was mentor and former coach who's who's who came up as well. And he said, no CRA, viruses, a better, prospect, Beasley, he's a better running back prospect in big Beasley ever was. And when you put him on defense. He's just scratching the surface of what he can be. He's on campus right now. He he arrived yesterday. He soccer's wherever address the team is getting all the circumstance he said, I would say Michigan was number one. But the weather is crazy. That's why I said the weather today is perfect. This is not crazy weather. This is a false Saturday in Ann Arbor. He's getting a good glimpse of that. In writing time, so too big time five-star prospects on campus, the list is so much longer. So many other guys a lot of commitments Chris hidden is all campus five-star commitment out of Atlanta, his younger brother, mild, hit news about six six three thirty out. He's on campus as well. A big time prospect in next year's class, and you go down the line a guy that we found out late last night is slated to be on campus. Today is one of the top linebacker prospects in Ohio in the mid west. He is committed to Boston College. He recently got offered by Ohio State and Michigan any slated to be on campus. Today, I'm saying into because his team lost a playoff game last night. So we'll see but Tommy I can burn a four star linebacker prospect out of Ohio leaving the Saint Ignatius slate there'd be on campus today. Both the list is so much longer. I can't get to all of them. I just gave you the highlights fam- Penn State know, a search and recruiting as well if. There any guide that Michigan is wrestling with Penn State, whether they're here not here. We've got about thirty seconds of anybody that Michigan. Garrisons Zach Harrison and the five star defense of not old and tansy orange down in Ohio. They lost the playoff game last night. He is a freaky. Six six to forty five four four seven forty. I watch him doing my own is. I think it's Michigan Ohio state. Penn State is still in there. Could they be a compromise pick possibly I don't think that kid wants to go to high of state? I think he wants to come to Michigan. It's a it's a matter of can he stand up to the to the resistance to the pressure around him. I don't know the answer to that question. But if he can't he'll come to Michigan one more real quick, Mike fame Ryssdal. Former former Boston College, I mean, former Virginia Tech commit that was looking at Boston College as well. He's on campus today for the university of Michigan. He's a slot slot. Nickel tight slot Nick slide nickel type. So we'll see what my gut tells me Michigan's looking really good for him. Of course, recaps of the big visit weekend all week long during the Michigan insider.

"He is a round link regarded as a incredibly valuable player. And I think even if he doesn't get the Fletcher Cox level contract is going to get an inexpensive contract with Vic Beasley. I don't know. I mean, you have a fifth year option for him, I believe for twenty nineteen, and you probably want to keep him for that. But do you want to get him a big contract when he said one impactful years, a pass rusher if he kind of keeps up this pace and a five, six sack guy. I don't think he wanna give him for teen fifteen. Sixteen million dollars a year in twenty two. Yeah. I mean, it almost feels a little in. He's he's got more of an outlier season, this guy, but it feels a little like Bruce Irvin right? You know, this guy who can rip off piles of sacks and and really quick fashion, but not necessarily somebody who is a, you know, this is a Chandler Jones. We're talking about, you know, or or like a, you know, this isn't a, you know, all pro consistent all pro guy who affects the game and seventy different ways. Vic music can give back to the bathroom. Don't get me wrong. I mean, he can fifteen and a half sacks in the season is really good, but save six since then, I mean, yeah, that's concerning for a guy who's predicates his game on on on being a, you know, someone who is supposed to get to the quarterback and bring the quarterback down before he can pass the ball. So will do you want to make a new Super Bowl prediction after five. You know, it's annoying because I probably would have picked the saints over the the falcons that I had the chiefs against the falcons too. If I had saints chiefs, that'd be peacocking around talking about how how smart I look instead, I just have to point out that I did have the Redskins in first place in the first place. And as we know Bill, nothing changes after five weeks. I think that if I was picking the team from the NFC, it'd be the Rams Rams chiefs. If I was going to do it, then I think I was a little worried that the Rams would would have to cheat around them. And as it turned out, it was actually the falcons too many people picked with, which is ironic and should've should've let me know that I should have found a different team to select. Well, the kidney says, it's always next year. It's not a trance to do extent calls. Now, would you pick? Yeah. Go Rams. I think quite comfortably. I think you have to go, would you would you pick the Rams over the field? If you had to pick an NFC. NFC representative. No, because you are simultaneously betting against Aaron Rodgers and drew Brees. And that seems like a bad mathematical option sixty three and a half percent for the football power index with the Rams to make the Super Bowl and win the NFC. Oh. So an aggressive sixty, three percent forty point, six percent chance of winning the Super Bowl according to edit that is not right. That is not know sensitive FBI that is not accurate. Nobody has a forty percent chance of winning the Super Bowl on October tenth. I will. I will contact the algorithm. I, I have not yet made contact with it, but I see what I can do to let it know of your disapproval. I have to admit that. If if I'm going to feed it from going to feed it knowledge about, we'll Brinson I will remind it of your Super Bowl prediction from last year. I don't think it will take your concerns. Seriously, my friend. Thank you. Mr. Bendtsen for contacting us. You are this throwaway, please go. He you learned how to talk just to insult. You know, I, I agree with you. I think sixty three and a half percent for the NFC is too high to me. But I think that that Rams versus the field that I always love field on the side of actions, and I think it's pretty close. I think I would have it close to fifty fifty, which is kind of scare him in the Rams are really, really terrifying football team. I would go Rams and I think I would go. I think I will go rans patriots. That's that that that is a convenient choice. I would argue with that Rams Bengals perhaps would be interesting now that that is a classic will going to ruin this team's light in..

"Bringing us some amazing content during the season. Please check out the site daily throughout the day as those articles land quite frequently. Now, one of those picks pass rusher, Vic Beasley, obviously off to a slow start. Gina, you're making the case that this season this season big Beasley will have at least if not more than eight secs. Again, we're talking about Vic Beasley, eight Amore sacks this season, Gina make your case. So here's the thing, Vic, basically led the league in sacks in two thousand sixteen. He had fifteen point five sacks that was more than Bonn. Miller that was more than Khalil math, like guys who are just. Dominant at the position. And so that year through the first three games, he really didn't do anything. And so I don't think that what we've seen so far this year from Vic as Representative of what he brings to the table. Vic is very talented. He has speed off the edge. He's very athletic. He can get to the quarterback, and I think that a key for that as having tack McKinley on there who can also bring pressure like it's double teens. And so last year we saw his sack total drop, but it's because he led the league in sacks in two thousand sixteen. So teams had was fine extra guys to him. The keep obey this year. Of course, tack is not healthy this week, but when Tak is on the field, they have to account for him to. And so I think that once tack, it's fully healthy and not fighting through groin injury, and we've seen tack can do like he was great against the Panthers. I think that teams are going to have to work. Worry about containing tack, which is going to open up opportunities for we know that that can get a dump. We know that he can get to the quarterback. We know that he has the drive in the fire to do it. And so I think that that's actually an easy call, Vic will have eight sacks this year. Matt, you've got the under. Make your case. All right. And the first off, I, I appreciate that you say we have a lot of talented writers at the Hollick David, but I'm a little mad that you didn't include are less talented writers such as myself. That's. And I'm not. I'm not happy about it in. All right. Let's let's get to this. Now. Jane will mention Vicki's twenty sixteen. I had to go check my calendar to find out what year it is because it is not twice as teen is also not twenty seventeen. It's almost twenty night and we haven't seen Vic Beasley with anything since not even since playoffs at twenty sixteen he fell off. Oh week thirteen or something he disorder stopped in. I mean, you know, she's right. He didn't do much in the first games which is literally the most consistent thing about his career ever in. We see him this year. He's not playing double teams. He's not planning. His might be planning. It's good tackles. I don't even remember the guy he played against a against Carolina. His name is. I don't know. Jim, maybe I don't know. It was some guy sign up the street literally on Tuesday, visa. Going to one on one with this guy is nothing. He's sucking out loud zero sacks against some undrafted off the street guy. He has no pass, rush moves. We're gonna be more than like four sacs at in this year. Putting Brooks read at this point. Wow, Brooks Reed named drop at the end. That is pretty vicious. It's pretty vicious chambers. Chambers breakf- has learned how to do spend move. So I mean there is that. So he has the least to pass, rush, moves twice as many as veasley.

"I know you're not a huge round Jeffrey guy, but this really was the the eels grinding it out against a defense that that matches up well against them. And last year the elements worked against them a little bit that that wasn't as much of a factor tonight, and I, it was hot and humid. Down in Philadelphia, but gosh, they just that they stayed on the field the they did some more neat stuff with the Arpaio's Jeppe absolutely did. One thing I really liked offals RPO's and Collins worth on NBC did a tremendous job putting it in very simple, easy to digest and process terms, which is run blocks on the left side. And this game is on the left side. The run blocks on the right side pass blocks, and there's basically two plays split right down the middle there. Those run blocks to eagles employ. They had zone blocks and MandA manner gap scheme blocks in them. So not only are they running our peels, but they're doing off of expansive. ZOA different run, looks different zone, and man run looks. And that really is the eagles offense in nutshell, they're, they're running game in the stuff they do with their three interior. Offense of Lyman was new ski Brooks at guard. And then of course, Kelsey at center. That's the. Backbone of this offense and to expand that into the RPO gains going to be big for them because what you mentioned about Al Sean, Jeffrey out. Now, MAC Collins is out for the season even when Jeffries back. But especially while he's gone, this receiving core doesn't scare anyone in Atlanta's corners even in zone coverage matched up as if it were man at times because he just we're not at all threatened by the eagles white outs out wide. So the eagles are going to have to manipulate teams inside and win through scheme. And it starts with how they use those interior linemen in their appeals and they're run game. Yeah. I mean, look, the eagles had some moments in this game. He was nice. It kind of called back to last year and this was a, this was a gutsy win. They had the Phillies special two point, oh, for for a key. Third down there. Darren sproles made one of the plays of the game, escaping Vic Beasley on that third down version on on the game winning drive there, they just kinda, they made the plays that they have that they had to make. And I know that sounds very cliche and and it kind of is, but yellow, they had to turn overs. They were. They were fairly fluky turnovers. They had the dude stepped on the live ball on the punt and they had the the ball that hit Dallas got her in the chest and popped up when he got hit. Not that Nicole's inputs couple passes endanger, but know they overcame these things. Balconies did not, and and this boy got her should have made that catch by the way. It was a great play though by Yuccas e demonic z. it was it. He didn't because he didn't really not that I wanna get bogged down this play, but because he didn't really put anything on the ball. I mean he was just, yeah. Yeah, full full. I mean, Kaz e didn't like there's no contact between like hand in ball, like it popped up a helmet, getting on the ball or something that would violently jarred loose that Kinda just kinda why. why I thought you were talking about fulls in his velocity on the throw which also wasn't fools is not a Roger Clements type of quarterback. And so I think the combination of the ball kind of taking some time to travel there was an over route or a post kind of over route were Goddard started on the right and route went to the left. So we had to cross the formation, so slow developing route the baldin have a lot of juice in Carr's e came screaming in and I haven't played receiver Gary. I guess I played titan one year junior high to now I'm humiliated. I why even bring that up. But I would imagine if you're tracking a slow moving ball and a defender comes from behind you extra speed. I bet that's got a discombobulating field too, and I bet that's a big reason why God her didn't catch that ball. The contrast of speeds and everything that's happening is peripheral visions. I bet was very disruptive. They could be, and sometimes. Hi, throw. Just kind of embeds itself into you, but how worry to re about Atlanta's offense..

Surprise offseason camp standouts to know for 32 NFL teams - 2018

"To the whole success of the football team let's talk about it eight five five two one two four juju seven we start with jake in grand rapids michigan first up today on the gresh show on cbs sports radio good afternoon jake pillow jake all right well i guess jake is in the air then eight five five two one two four two two seven eight five five two one two four cbs and i'm also check it out here i'm looking at the the nfl twitter by the way you can hit me up on twitter at the real gresh gre age atlanta falcons pass rusher vic beasley yes he's doing his football camp today and that's a part of the reason why i think we've got some folks out here who in theory it'd be willing to talk some nfl because you get these camps your cross you you know you're out this summer you know you're going to see these players depending on where you live you're going to hear about the events that they do because this is this is really the five or six weeks before everybody gets to ramp up before training camp starts and once these players get the training camp forget about it you know they're going to be all over the place but you know in digging deep on some of these teams i read some stuff as to how excuse me as to how sam bradford is disseminating information to the other quarterbacks there with the zona cardinals and trying to quote unquote smarten up guys like josh rosen and others those are the kinds of things that you need when you're trying to get people up to speed but look is this is this going to be a situation where there's really going to be a true battle or because sam bradford comes in with such a knowledge of not only the offense but the nfl that he is going to be the starter coming out of camp and then do you see a shift along the way here's the thing about sam bradford arizona quickly he's so dangerous because he plays well enough not to lose the starting job but does he play so great the extreme oh my god we have to keep him in the lineup to the phones jesse in tulsa oklahoma is first up today on the gresh show on cbs sports radio.

"One the job in the preseason at left garb and he started the first three games and what happened in those first three games they beat the giants and they beat arizona at arizona and i got demolished obviously the whole team didn't show up at denver and it went up but they went to out a three games and then he got hurt that's what happened he got hurt and then when he came back from injury he had lost his job jonathan cooper who didn't have very good game yesterday either but the point is if if you had told me going into the game who did i fear the most and pass rush helped me out you know the falcons you fear i drink no one yeah heck yes who wanted to save big beasley what do you think they said in their film in their meetings what what do you think they said number one what's our number one priority vic beasley who who would be second on that lee that list do you know brooks do he got late where the thing if you notice the big beasley own shaved greens that guy or i know why because a claiborne headed going in he a better he they bet he the he has more of a repertoire big beaver maloney he's listed second on that depth chart he's not even a starter home adrian claiborne i wasn't even sure he was still in the league and i loved him coming out i will you can check the tape because i was campaigning for somebody to take him high in tampa bay took him in the first round earlier very good first year he had seven and a half sacks for the bucks and then he got heard and then he tailed off and then he fell out of favour and he's listed number two on.

"Like that just became that i and my rate a gesture feng what if the unpopular opinion shows just me arguing four jeff fischer and every category uh i i think the choline last year moving away from how those zone b schemes that he used to love in atlanta or use levin seattle playing more man being malleable understanding his personnel i think that he's re brilliant at understanding how to put his guys in the right spot and about knowing what kind of players fit the defense that he plays and i just think that dion jones robert alpher desmond true font kiato neil base with vic beasley who you like more than i do to me he's like a guy who it's tool five but his forty five home runs but i still like this the core i don't care about the ion asleep i'm into game changing plays and vets mirror does it but you can make more game changing plays when you're around the quarterback that's what i'm saying yeah i allison i agree basically terrible run fund her understand that but i'll take it i mean i will too there's a reason the baseball analytics movement moved towards home runs are okay and send so is hitting 230 if he hit a bunch of home runs a extrabase hits that's what it's about big beasley as a and the i who died on now some baseball guy who does exactly what we're talking about i think the choline is we're talking about a head coach of pride going forward because i think the falcons are gonna be relevant but as a defensive mind i think that should not be overlooking what source by for me i still lack of a defensive mind it's the sean pain doesn't enough heat because every he said as a good on he's sort of settled into what's going on in new orleans three years of seventy nine which is fine was in every there there are so many good coaches who have gone through some violent that but if you're the head coach and a we we all as football observers love with their do on offense.

"For for quite some time i think that that they threw was sort of a wake up call but it the practices vic beasley ingrained then you know as from the researchers i spoke to talk about the real problem at the winner this is the intent kid time is the play so at the moment to you want to get your study published in you know rise the ranks him back again in the ninth to the community you have to produce a novel result same exciting finding and science and this is a fine in the type of external who won a published so and tell you change incentive compelled become the exciting looking to reproduce this that he and so if the comfort setting the published a steady that doesn't have exciting resulted it's hard to to change the structure even though that paper with important in the wrong incentive to do and play and i think that's silly the cut my guess so sam how poll who's article the young billion their behind the warren sciences in the for agree issue of wired and we'll talk about that young billionaire in just a moment tim arrington is a buyout to set the center for open science so sam who is john are no and how to become interested in brian o six work john arnold to is the billionaires he is seven years again became the youngest billionaire in the country at the time you insult thirty three when he became a billion act he started at and run in place is and even as an run was sort of imploding among the at hand the i'm very of financial like than those where were taken played arnold who is actually on touch by the standout he was working in in a different area of the fermin actually doing tremendously well even a and run with collapsing he was financial trade in making.

"But the vic beasley led the nfl in sacks the patriots off but so was in trouble beasley just sack master a pass rushing machine for atlanta now he's vic beasley playing very well has he put had a great year yes in a breakout season however he is not all in stubble is not in import here reality for a minute beasley is going to light up almost exclusively on the left side of the defense right but ninety six percent according to pro football focus well that means he's going to go against the majority the time marcus kid and that plays right in the to the spider web of bill belichick it isn't it's not something that belichick is afraid of when against some of the elite pass rushers in the nfl and he faced that litmus test or the regular season and he played well in off where he passed against him passed with flying colors is von miller who had a a bunch of sacks so journey early we great defensive plays jerry hughes a buffalo the birth pass rushers cameron wake in miami and drew rushers very similar skill set to make easily and canada it up the second team all pro after go to guess those guys the reins he's so you picked that there's a a lot of concern about vic beasley you trust marcus cannon if you the patriots you just marcus get it and then corey in the pocket head coach who this week is he wanted everyone enough that the preparation an opportunity when they get together and have a baby the falcons are prepared.

"Vic beasley young his name in the two or three other guys get after a young defensive team it's a young football team that's a young defensive team but that's a to have to figure out of it because look they played really well down the stretch that put well the last six weeks is this a defense that you know with with his many players that they have of as first in the second year starters on it did did something quick with this defense you know seven weeks ago you know what i'm saying i mean that's what you have to that's what you have to try to figure out or is it just that they you know tell on a hot streak employed okay you know the good thing is a they've got the all offense a kind of backs up an you know it's always a lot easier to point b france when you have an off and set scoring a bunch of points a not to both these all fronts what are they on an assist eight game eight nine game streak of scoring on their first possession yeah so when you when your defense playing with an early lead that helps a lot sure sure and both these teams i mean i think both these teams defensible your are you know help by their all fans i think i think us all this that over the weekend but it's not like if you want to take away the first four weeks i'm you know when brady was suspended not kind of stuff the patriots are averaging thirty points over it's like thirty point seven or something points per game the falcons over that same stretcher averaging thirty three point for i think something like that so i mean both these teams are scoring in a thirty stunned and you know again when you're off and to score him in the thirties him makes a heck of a lot easier for you to play defense the heck of a lot easier to play the fence about point so we'll see like what you not playing scared and you know is go the casino you know what loses the yeah secured months scared money you know trying to x's with a good off fast enough climate scared money what else we got there if they don't the texans are eight six oh one nine.
