"To see teams go out and four back in the day. The seattle crack in have their head coach. It's dave hack. Stall ron francis the gm Just announced that Last week and this is a guy of course who was behind the bench with the flyers and he did okay there and then a couple of years ago after he left My babcock brought them in to Help in toronto Is there anything one way or another that the needlepoint up and down for you for this guy because to me he's just a guy getting a second chance. What should we know about him. Well i i think a lot of people were surprised. i mean. He wasn't even considered a front runner by many fans than insiders. You know people who kinda were maybe walk paying a little bit more attention to it like you know who's going to be there. i coach. Oh this is going to be such a big deal a historic moment. Whatever i'll tell you why it's an interesting higher because like you said. He is relatively inexperienced compared to other. Nhl head coaches who were available on the market or maybe had a contract expiring me could the crack in have gotten a coach with more experience. Absolutely what's interesting about this is that is not a first time. Nhl head coach. But it's like he has some experience already coaching at the nhl level. And i think the message that sends his look. We're gonna new team we're gonna be growing and we want you to roll with us instead of bringing in guy with like twenty years of experience. Connor mcdavid won his second heart For years after his first of course that's mvp of the league and You know led the league in points. It's not a surprise. I think this surprises that. It was unanimous the only other unanimous vote getter of course was the great one Same team edmonton i. Are you surprised. There wasn't a first place. Vote given to mccain matthews here. No because i think that Mcdavid he means more to his team. I think he's he's a much brighter. Spot on a much. Bleaker t mr makes sense whereas if you like because the avalanche are better team and they have more heavy hitters. That maybe mckinnon doesn't stand out as much Although he does stand out of course But i think maybe mcdavid does more with less around him. You know another thing too is not only did he win the heart so wanted to lindsay which is also a most valuable player award but it's voted by his peers. So he was. His peers also voted him as the best in the league. Which is awesome. And that's got to be an even bigger honor. It's one thing if a bunch of sports writer say. Hey this is who we think. The greatest player is and of course. That's an honor but when your own peers pick you for that. just heard a creaky door. Is someone sneaking up on yourself shutting. My creaky made a radio fo- pod. I apologize for my creaky door. No the faux pas. Me point out The vezina went to marc andre fleury. Beating outgrew our invest celeski and This guy. I always thought if you start for canada and the olympics. You got something going on and yet. He was exposed in an expansion draft so at his age to leave As i said to have a career high and save percentage and a goal against under to It's it's really a great story usually when you get exposed in an expansion draft not pulling in one of these trophies well but the thing about flurries that the way he was in that Expansion draft was a very unusual circumstance because teams can only protect one goalie. The penguins had two good goals at the time to great goalies at the time and they could've moved flurry At the trade deadline to another team that would have protected him and maybe kept him. You know kept him on their roster and exposure the different goalie But flurry wanted to stay with the penguins and he knew that he was going to be the goal that would be exposed in the expansion draft but at the same time. You also knew that the team head. You know legitimate chance at winning back to backups which they did so he stayed on the team. He won a second cup with them and then he moved on and became kind of like the face of the franchise. I mean the really only. And i said the only well known player on the the nights but i mean they're marquee player for that You know well at least until they started playing and then you saw the breakout stars. Where i mean gave them instantaneous. Star power and credibility. Yeah vegas i mean. They got marsha so in that draft they kinda hit the ground running there a couple more questions for sal bury the national sports collectors convention coming up chicago at the end of this month and i was just thinking about today with all the. Nfl's that the college kids can have their nfc's We might be seeing some new weird stuff this year Yeah but i don't think we're gonna necessarily see college players signing autographs at this national. If if that's what you mean as far as weird stuff that will see at the national. We're going to see a lot of people who are just getting into the hobby and maybe people who are becoming reacquainted with the hobby after Giving up on it. Or i don't know if say giving up on it growing out of it You know twenty years ago. Where thirty years ago so. I mean we're going to have a lot of people who've never gone to a baseball card show before let alone the biggest one in the world and a lot of people who are You know maybe collected in the eighties and nineties and then stopped for many years and then when they were forced to stay home with the pandemic they were like. Wow look through my baseball cards. Got nothing else to do. And then you know they get back into what started buying cards again and it all of a sudden we're seeing crazy prices Especially on cards. That were considered junk from like the late eighties to mid nineties. They call that the junk wax era somewhat disparagingly because the card for produced so much that they don't have a lot of value in yet the value for those cards shot up. I got thirty seconds I'm setting you loose in convention. I tell you got five minutes where you're going. Oh i'm gonna go buy hockey cards. Because that's what i collect I'm gonna go. Try to find some dealers that specialize in hockey and By some vintage hockey from the sixties and early seventies because are to set some currently golding salisbury. Follow him on twitter at puck. Junk code puck chunk dot com. He's got some merch there as well salga to hear him a man. Thanks for coming on. Let's catch up down the road all right. I'm rick let's take a quick break. "Ridiculous it's also frustrating and this goes back to talking about you know everybody being tired and you know all the mistakes that were made in tonight's game you know from a from a structure standpoint with all the all the turnovers all the there wasn't a bunch of there wasn't a lot of skating tonight it was more trying to get the stick on the puck or whatever and i mean he he's bonuses having to play the top three lines all the time yet. That's what you have to do. You can't rule for like we'd like to just because literally our fourth line age align line like not even like oh that server statement now is like that's our age align last year so when we get those three back like i'm excited to see like if we can play for the panthers this well when they're desperate for a win and we don't have a fourth line like i'm excited for what's going to happen when if win if we can get healthy well like jason dickinson could should be on that fourth line. Probably it says the first on the fourth line. He's he's on the line normally on our first line right played forty minutes. It's just frustrating right now with everything that's going on and you know it. I know a lot of people are frustrated with how the stars are playing right now on the fact that we can win games right now. But that's just the story of the season right now is this. We're we're not executing there's injuries left and right to all of our top players. Were asking players to step in. Who shouldn't be asked to step in like robertson. He's our he's been like the lifeblood of the stars offense for the month of march and You know we have people like denis gurianov jamie benn who are not you know not doing anything basically there tonight. We're looking better at least a little bit but it exactly but that that's the problem though. Is it like oh we look good but this happened or good but we're not getting enough executional if we wanna if you wanna make the playoffs when we don't have our top three scores than both of those guys need to be on. They can't just be okay. They have to be great if we want to get to the playoffs when we don't have our first line so that's just what i think if we look back on the season like from the future especially if we don't make the playoffs it's going to be. This was the injury season like and reorder three of your best scoring forwards and your vezina goalie out for the whole season like i read. Remind people of that more like in overall. I know it really..

"Even though we only lost by two goals, Tampa has literally scored. The goals that have been scored this week that concerns me. Anish. Yeah. No, you've mentioned the shots, the shots there, but then not. In my opinion quality shots against a vessel St type A goal time to that guy. I love that behind the the the net cam. Goal move in is it? He's quick in these big is. He's awesome and he's probably GonNa win the Zina Vezina. However, you spell it. I got roasted for that ink listen I say both ways as it cracks me up. As far as I know. It's the Venza trophy are as. Rosen says in anything I know about how you may pronounce that I think it's not and that's how I hear most people who are in hockey say. I do both because who knows I told them I I told the person that called me out on it. It's like I talk shit anyway. So don't worry about it. Yeah that's a nice how it's at least in my mind. So Yesterday. This is the thing that this is why Tampa's listen because again, yesterday wasn't the most horrible effort better than game. But as good as game for should have been no. Okay. But We had thirty shots. They had twenty six, but it doesn't matter if you can't put it in the net guy everyone's tinling shooting. Or as we'll get to on shore, this has been annoying you because it seems to be annoying anyone. I know who likes hockey? Can you just shoot the puck? You don't need the perfect pass. You don't need to hold the next three seconds Oh Vassal Alaska can square up and block the shot like just shoot sorry We had sixty five percent of the face off wins, which is great if you win the game. Giveaways we were even with them. They took away twelve and we only took away for. So that was indicative of some of the problems yesterday. But? Yeah. So we lost. So now we're looking at, we're going to go into the restless schedule. Win being down three, two, one and. Someone said have a on twitter. This morning said have we have come back from three to line and Maria from watertown said no but tomorrow's a good day to start and I said thank you Maria positively because I'm a very negative person not like in general but just you know me, I'm a pessimist on. Yeah, whatever. Okay but the thing because it's the great equalizer that you can have hope your team who should not be last year Tampa team this year and I would like to point out if we lose, we will still have gone out in the second round and not the earth in sweep. We did win a game. Thank you. Dr. Though we get to talk into the nitty gritty, just the general, what the Hell's going on with his team kind of talk did you do the I? Did I did what I also mentioned that we have a new sponsor and this is going to be a segment that we're going to work on for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, the bruins stay in because this is very relevant to. The be sticking around in these playoffs. "Siri's and I thought, What I saw in the clincher in Game four was going to bode well for him in this series so far, that hasn't exactly played out that way. I'm not gonna put I still think Vegas is the better team and it would have taken Cory at Vezina Trophy level for them to pull this thing off. But, yeah, he deserves some criticism as do a lot of these guys, you know, like Jonathan Haze deserves criticism for Not picking up a man in front last night for having a turnover in Game one that lead to a goal. I mean, you know, no one is escaping Blame here. There's there's plenty to go around. But But Cory hasn't had it has hasn't had a stellar two games. How surprised were you that Carlson was in the lineup in Bo. Chris wasn't and you know, Jeremy Carlton said. It's a day of rest, and we'll get him back in there obviously was sending a message to one young defenseman and putting Carlson and they're giving him opportunity. But Isn't this I mean moving forward, Who's more important to the team and getting them as much playoff experience was that the roster move to make It's an interesting point. I I wasn't surprised that he was necessarily out of a lineup because if you watch Game one, he was overmatched physically. He'd wise and he's out there with Duncan Keith playing top pairing minutes. And it's almost unfair to dunk into a AH put him in a position to kind of always. Have to pick up the slack for for Adam. While he's trying to learn. You know this game at at a 19 year old and you've seen it. You saw it actually in the Oilers, Siri's to the lack of confidence. At the coaching staff had and vocalist in high leverage situations. They would just rotate five demon late in games and Adam would sit quite a bit, so I wasn't totally surprised. But I understand what you're saying about isn't this valuable experience? Now you can have that debate all season long. I think they pushed Adam along and expedited his NHL timeline and I think at times to the detriment of the team. I think the reason why the Blackhawks power play er was was really bad. This year was They forced Adam vocalist. To be the quarterback on the top power play unit for extended period times in this in this season, and I don't think he was ready for that. So here you are in the playoffs. Do you try to get him experience? Or do you look at the other 22 guys and said, Look, we've got to try to win a hockey game. And you know we got to the playoffs. You guys pull this here I'm going to. We're going to do whatever we can to do that. I have no problem when you go down that road. I mean, this is This. I think I think he'll be back in the lineup tomorrow, and I think you'll see Carlson, who was a minus two last night and was on for the game winner. I think he'll sit. But I do think you'll see. Boake was back in the lineup tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. The hockey show Brian Hanley and Pat Boiled PB. What should we expect for the show tomorrow? Well, it's uh, it's put up time, right? Well, you know what we see. We've seen this team backed into corners before and I'm not talking about Stanley Cup. Championship years like being down 31 to Detroit in 2013. I'm talking about In 2011 and 2012 1st round exit. Where they were down three games to none or three games to one. And they forced Game seven against Arizona and Vancouver. So I want to see the makeup off this team. I want to continue continue to see Who they should give contracts to going forward. Dylan Strome I thought had a strong game last night. Um Kirby Doc continues to impress. The other thing. They hit 10 posts this this postseason, So in the six games they played, they hit 10 posts, the next closest team in this tournament. Was Boston with four so I don't want. I don't want to, like, totally play the puck luck card, but you know Dylan Strome Had a beautiful shot in overtime last night that could've wanted form and we'd be having a different conversation right now. This series would be tied up at once, so hopefully some of the bouncers will go their way. But I want to find you know the mental makeup and just how prideful this team is. And you know why? I'm not expecting them to win this series. I want to see if they can extend it. At least of five games. Thanks, Pat. I'll be listening tomorrow morning at nine boys. Great enjoying you. Ah, Captain. Company, Really? Thief Final capping company, P. B. Thank you. Take that. Take that TV. That's Pat Boyle. You'll hear the hockey show tomorrow at nine with Brian Hanley Right here on ESPN 1000 We're going to use Green Day's time of your life with the montage could wear the cap audio with a sad tear rolling down my cheek as we say goodbye here in the final 42 minutes of the show coming up next our terrorist card show Vis is speaking, and he has some strong comments, which I think should enthuse Bulls fans who were worried about the direction of the franchise. "Going to be trying to take is out at the buffet. You know what's the deal with this? So I just wonder what happens with that. And how that all sort of plays out guys hate Tom Wilson heat him zooming. Marshawn marshes cleaned up his act, but They're still that hate from around the league I think with him. Interesting to see how that all goes down in other news. Awards awards might get handed out to Bruins. We have to go rask with the president. We have bruce cast Jag Adams. I'll be honest. I don't think either one of them and I. Don't think it's. I, think to has a good shot of winning the VEZINA but A. Ultimately if I had pick out, choose hello book and and I think that he would be the more appropriate choice, but I do think that there's a significant chance that that good does sort of steel that one. We'll because a lot of people voting for it. Might not know of advance stats. Just look at save percentage and goals against average. Oh Chewbacca was basically the best and both to grasp like. It's funny. When the season was announced, officially ended, I tweeted stupidly Oh rascal win the VEZINA which was dumb, because I kind of forgot about the rest of the League and then I actually went and looked at you know evolving hockey I went and looked at natural sad trick, and the numbers for Hell Bucker Insane, especially, considering the circumstances. I'm a huge circumstance guy when it comes to these awards Taylor Hall in the NBA PF years ago, it was one hundred percent right guy is carried his team and Halibut candidate, the same this I mean hell I think you wrote. This have has a chance at MVP like. In theory, I mean Hell. Was that good? That jets team should have been terrible in a defense of. They lost everybody at last offseason. And by every stretch of the imagination should have been certainly not one of the original playoff teams if the season ended normally and they were I. think they were wildcard team. They were right on the bubble. I. Believe in so I think they've finished his like the the eighth. They were either nine seed so it was right there right there and I mean they were trying in the wrong direction, but I mean the fact that they're even in the conversation with the League's worst defense and how many? Many draw tunes. They're giving up like they just hung that guy out to dry all season long, and he put up unbelievable numbers so I I mean I i. said that he should be the MVP conversation especially like if you're going to look at a guy like our Timmy Pinera and we're like you're taking him out of the conversation. If if if the Rangers don't get in the playoffs, and now you're putting him back in the conversation, because the the field is expanded..

We had state representative John Santiago with us last night, Um, talking about some legislation ad That Beacon Hill, which would put some bite into the into the mask mandate, wearing a mask mandate that would be finds involved in tonight we've talked about removing Native Americans, the Native American high school mascots. My position of that really simple. That should not be decided. The state of ship is that should be decided on a town to town basis. And then we talked also about this group of you want to get rid of the Massachusetts state flag because of its depiction of an Indian and a sword and all of that, and my suggestion of that is real simple. Let's just turn the Massachusetts flag, which essentially is a is a white flag with beautiful seal on it to get rid of the seal and just make it a white flag. That will be the state flag of Massachusetts. I don't know if people agree with that. So now normally on the 20th another week, we during the Pandemic have asked people to call in and tell us about something good. That happened that this week. We try to end it on a positive note, But the phone calls have been so strong. I don't know we'll be able to do that. Soap. If you would like to participate in what we generally do on this 20th of the week. We're on the air 20 hours week Monday through Friday, five nights a week, four hours a night. And you want to tell me something good. That happened this week. That's okay. If you want to keep talking about Why we have to be so divided. There are folks out there who just want to divide us. They want to divide us over high school mascots. They want to divide us over race. They want to divide us over Ah economic status. They want to divide us over whether or not we support a state flag has been around for over 100 years. They want to divide. Divide divide. Because they feel that that is good for their Their aspirations. They would like a socialist America and you can't tell me anything to the contrary. That Congresswoman Ah Ayanna Presley here in Massachusetts, Ellen Omar in Minnesota, a Casio, Alexandria or Cassio, Cortez and others want a socialist, they wantto fundamentally change America. And it is up to us either, too. Agree to that and assent to that, or to argue against it. I choose to argue against it. Let's go right now. Back to the phones and let's talk with Julie, who is in Whitman. Hi, Julie. How are you tonight? Welcome. You are next on nights. I Julie, go right ahead. Thanks for holding onto the news. I owe you an apology. Really? Yes. So I did it. I feel like the last time I called like that, your friend I never I don't want to do that. I just wanted apologize, and I want to get that straight. And I want to say to you that I like your show. Thank you. No problem with that. What do you apologize? For? What? Like I'm just apologizing because I feel like I said things, Whatever I I came. I'm very passionate. No bourbon. I like I like passion. That's fine. You go right. Answer what you're taking all of this. Julie, go right ahead. I think I think yeah, just like I wanted to say I was gonna say the first thing I was thinking I was put here. My job is at home getting out of work, and I want you to do that because I feel like it's all long. Okay, these people All right. You need to calm down. Fell down, and I just like doing assisting people setting fires and doing other stuff in case wanting and these people, Okay? I feel in all of them. I think they could even beings. Probably. I don't Not Omar, right? I'm not going. I'm going to be neutral and just keep my mouth shut. But that one and I don't agree. I don't agree with nothing. This is our country, which is where I grew up. The land. I love my country. I love all you about Americans and the new Americans. No. You saw what along its all one just like it accused for them to be OK. Isn't that does whatever industry Well, I mean, you look what's going. You look what's going on. I think you just alluded. What's going on in Portland? 50 nights of demonstrations. I've never been to Portland, Oregon. I have no interest in ever going to Portland, Oregon. I don't know what I like. And we always do he stand up. We need to stand up straight because this is getting worse than work. Can you imagine? And you imagine, Can you imagine Julie? If you had going to Portland, Oregon and gotten a job in Portland, Oregon, you know, married. Had a family bought a home in Portland are going you now look at what's going on in that city, and you realize that the value of your property has plummeted. Plummetted. People are going to be fleeing Portland are yes, I think of organ is a beautiful state. I mean, I'm number you're lying. Just like I think Oregon and Washington. I just don't think of it like cities like New York. Maybe he's in Boston. Boston. Like so came you into new up. We're very lucky to live. We have very lucky to live in Boston. I was just wondering. I want these people to realize they're so lucky to live in our country. People in Russia right now, like I can't even Celebrate your own religion that they like, because I mean, Vivian locked up. I'm just understand because I watch all these tiny things and aged but I don't want I don't know. Watch all defects. One time, sometimes people and I'm not saying that this is usually I get shedding died. Sometimes people don't understand. How good they have it until they lose it, just like we have. We have the greatest country on the earth and you turn into 1/3 world country which going on that the people on the streets living in tents and O, you're with you there that there are places in this country that it now Elections in this country. Coming up with all the help to one another. I agree. And I love your passion. Julie. Gotta run. We'll talk soon. Call back soon. Okay. Have a great night. Go to Jack in Newton. Jack. Welcome. How are you tonight? How you doing? Jack Porter? Well, I guess people have called me a responsible progressive or democratic socialist..

"Boehm guys. It's been and a Lotta Fun. I'm getting Outta here. You want to do comments in closing thoughts or closing thoughts comments. How you do this we? We've only got two comments. I've already got them up. Go for it out boy. Jose she says no way. So it's like no way Jose. This is my favorite Stephen King novel. One of my favorite movies and I go to say the Broadway production. If he is with Bruce Willis and Laurie metcalf. Oh my gosh I'd love to. That's great is have you seen. Is that a thing. No I'd love to though I mean Bristle is like if he tries run right uh-huh and of course the always prevalent just as much as Jose. Where Patrick Harrington the best person to will the sledgehammer other than triple h uh-huh fucking wrestling reference in the right? So yeah. That's pretty much all the comments. We got All sorts of final. Oh Fox you know I love this movie. I think it's timeless. I think it's great because there's not a whole lot of like I I don't I don't ever see this movie being you know. There's not a dependent dependent on There's really not like a dependence on modern technology is you know books are always going to. It's not like Oh this guy's a blogger and I've hacking news. How's your this guy? wrote a bad yelp review and I'm going to murder him. You know I it's timeless and I think that's the best thing about it And it's so incredibly relevant elven today with this kind of the The toxic fan culture that we have going on. And you know I. I don't know I really can't you think of anything else to say fucking love this movie. I think I've said about everything that I've got to say Yeah I I'm always cover some Stephen King. I'm glad that we've gotten this. This what else Stephen King have we covered as this are I like full-fledged king movie copy scholley I don't know I I can't do it on a committee like some kind of trays. Inhibit in the mouth of madness in King Right now. That's I mean Sutter Kain is supposed to be hang basically but I think this might be unless on crazy. Somebody sent me an email but I'm pretty sure this is the first thing that we've covered Noli. Not Right I mean that's I'm I'm actually like I'm fully. Yeah that's I don't know man. It's I'm glad that all of us got on the same boat awesome. LSD In rogue's rogues gallery. I think so cool that all of us were covering this at the same time. I very happy to have just on. You know we popped a Stephen King Cherry Jerry. We got just as this is no. This is not your first guest appearance. You were on the populist right populist and I I was on I did I talked about Harry Potter on this. 'cause I can't think of the podcast ask after midnight drinking wine very good reasons so technically guest appearance but the important clearly. Wow Sorry Floyd back doc on. I'll tell them they're the most important like I got to stay with the Times right. Well I mean and thanks again for coming on. You're always welcome to be on your especially. If you WANNA chat some some see became a time and place always on board to talk. Stephen King is one of my favorite topics. Clearly all right what are you fuckers. Go next JESTINA. Can you give us your final thoughts closet out okay like I said I think this is such a good movie. I think it really holds up. I think it stays true. The novel and these are all things that I love. The Stephen King loves so I really can't complain. I do have some interest in in not seeing necessarily this movie remade or the John Travolta movie that I'm going to go watch tomorrow back to you guys on the movie. Don't even worry about it. He'll love Jessica twenty nine watching. Yeah so many good movies this year and that terrible one But I do like the idea of this like the superfan and the obsession and it's such an interesting concept in in like we've talked about it so prevalent now especially in the age of social media which which is why. It's it's such a great story to look on at this point in time James Caan is great. Kathy Bates is great I think everyone should watch this movie. If you haven't you should maybe read the book but it's real fucked up Because cocaine and yeah thanks for for having me on the podcast guys. This is a time. Yes it's been an absolute pleasure having you on seriously give like yeah. We're it'd be one do this for a while so I really appreciate it. Thank you so much and you put up. I mean like. I'm glad that one of us read. Novel cursed cursed before the PODCAST. I'm like I don't got time for that thing. Don't worry I mean like listeners. Know fucking in lazy like we're just like Oh yeah that's GonNa podcast GonNa do zero like Racist but whatever we'll see we'll see how it tends Seattle but no misery really loved this movie Really really it was. It was great watching it again after all these years For the second time I remember the first time I really really dug but I think maybe I was just a bit too young to kind of like get it. If that makes sense like get all the the little intricacies of it and like hell it because you have to understand psychology Econo- have to understand how people feel and react to things like the way the way. She's kind of like manipulating him and the way he manipulates manipulates her like that whole aspect of it is on the economy. Really Understand And you don't really understand that kind of stuff into your bit alda Watching watching that dynamic this time around was super fascinating Really love the way shot really loved. The tension. Run is at Gordon Genius after this and you know stand by me but which King adaptations and guys I. Yeah I know that it's the body not stand by me okay. That's the only thing that I can. I thank God fucking Goldstar. Plays finished my wind snow yes really great performances to Kathy Bates absolutely Louis but I think also someone who is underrated James Caan and there's maybe because it doesn't work with James Caan esque characteristic or personality thirty like he's kind of like he's got that cockiness he's got that hardness about him if you call someone else that's a little soft that you don't believe can can go toe to toe with this monstrous baying than this movie kind of falls apart so I think this they really did a good job with the costing here. Yeah that's about it love this. Movie Elliott Fantastic guys inkster so much you know. Stay in late listening being in tackling. What is apparently our first? Stephen King Film confided obvious. That's crazy. That's crazy it is. You would have thought by now. You know very excited to be covering Stephen King. For the first time I got a great movie to cover as well. I'm glad we didn't go for something like it or the shining or we went for. I think a middle of the road still exceptionally good movie. Maybe even a little underrated idea if I do I think misery you should be up a lot higher on this. I think this up with like are probably not as High Schrool Shank but maybe like one rung under now like she has the greatest of the like Iran. I mean it's perfection guys. Thanks so much for listening. We always appreciate you staying late and listen and all the way through If you want to check US out again we're on facebook midnight double feature. "Re- watching US movie I haven't watched in a long time and it's like I know the PLA. I know everything that happens. In when buster got shot I was still like no. This can't be we've true like right. He's so likable. He's such a good character and the idea that he's dead like just like that is so very sad that and her justification for all this I mean she literally says she goes eight was going to happen sooner or later. She's right now. Actually somebody was going to come here and find you. And she's like now. I think this whole time this is where it starts to kind of sink in like she doesn't she doesn't want to sit here. And Keep Paul here. You know like Like you know like a ball and chain tethered here always writing these novels like this is a one time thing once this is done I mean. Where's her life GonNa go from here? It's not gonNA go L. Uphill. She's not marrying Paul Mike. She knows she's like it was bound to happen to venture later. It's a sign and you're like Holy Shit like she's resigned herself to this to his is death and resigned him to death together right why I love the fact that he hits her and she comes down the stairs for the SYRINGE and the rifle. I'm I'm sorry rifle a handgun and he was like. Yeah you know He. Yeah I gotTA run right right. Yeah and she says I. Yeah I love you. Who Says I love you too and you're right you know it's time we were meant to be together when but we gotta finish the novel and I just I? I love it because the book isn't done and he it's again it's she might be stupid. You might be ignorant. She might see through a lot of bullshit but he knows he's got that one string bring. He can pluck of misery misery. Ms just struck that one one string and she'll see it's a it's like bringing dinner bell. She'll come every single time like the applying until until you stop it. Then yeah right one low. She's so it's Kinda spooky she's like but others will come like us. What the fuck like? There's something about that line. I just loved. It's like it's so ominous you know that other people will come and God the bitch move of just parking working his wheelchair at the top of the steps and being like all right. Come and get it like. Oh God damn dude. That's brutal but I mean we're pretty much rapid down on here worth the final ten minutes. Paul gets to crack on the script you know. Just how how she comes back in the room. She's like all Paul. I'm dying to. She ended up with IAN or winter. Like she's just so nonchalant about the fact that she broke both his ankles and murdered somebody in the last twenty four hours like there's no like it's it's time. Isn't it sure seriousness. This of it is just gone like she so sucked right back into it. It's it's fucking terrifying. Yeah he says Hey Anita obviously I need some some things. You need a cigarette because you used to smoke but you quit except when you finish. You're listening to finish a book. Just have one and the matches to light it and you need one glasser champagne. Were fancy here right. I think she doesn't she like butcher. The pronunciation of John Out. I can't remember how she says and he repeats it in the same way that she pronounced it and I love that when they order a gloss of Chambliss Bliss. Oh my God yeah Paul you know he he finished it up. He's he's calling for he says. Hey you know it's it's almost done. Yeah I'm almost done. Yeah he says. I need my cigarette. I I need my I need. I need all the shed in the the amazing thing of validating her right before everything thing goes to shit where he's like you got you got you that. How is our thing? It's perfect but except for one thing I need to glasses and it's like oh just play in in that Harp Dude just the music that she cannot deny like this city martyr. This whole scene is just so oh fuck out of it. Because it's the revenge thing of you burned my book. I'll burn your fucking book now. Why fuck you do not so great? Obviously He stole the lighter fluid from the basement. We forgot to mention Ed. But who gives a fuck if you haven't seen this movie and you've made it to this point. I don't know what to tell you. But just oh my God when she comes back in and she sees him the destruction you know remember for all these years nobody knew who miseries real father was or if they'd ever be reunited. It's all right here. Does she finally marry Ian or will it be when Thorne it's all right here and just lights to fuck and match and torches that shit. Oh my God what I what am I love. How good when he did it? I love it. The last page switches like all work and no play makes Jack just like this nonsense on a page but he likes the fucking book on fire. She falls right for board again playing that harp. And what do dude. He slams her in the head with a fifty pound slept with a typewriter. And she fucking. I'll walking but dude I mean nothing does nothing tour and I love you. Know they get into this Abroa- sheaf he fucking you know he claws her eyes out. Basically like Graham systems in her is. There's a Lotta Sean do her fucking her fucking shooting almost like Holy Holy Shit like a you kind of forget yes. She's got a loaded gun honor but just the the imagery of her with all the blood around her mouth and her screaming as just like. Oh man it's so unsettling plus the fact that she also starts to she breaks values. Here she says I'm GonNa kill you you line CONCOC- succo like you know. She's she's no longer. That restrained Annie Wilkes anymore. It's Kinda like this fucking uncared based I love that all. aww The amazing when he gets on top ver- and they they kind of start fighting. He's like you'll art chuck twisted sick. Fuck like Phil Good Dude But I mean obviously we all know how this ends. This goes back and forth I love him using the leg. The leg hindered him for so long as the thing that trips were up and slams her head under the typewriter. It's just I loved the symbolic G Numb. Just GonNa be the symbolism there. I'll ah of him using the broken leg. Too narrowly tripper but her head smashing into the typewriter is. What fucking does it at right when you think it's over with two? I love the last the last gasp of the harsh it of her. You know jumping right back. I mean God he just won't stop. It's like fucking dealing with terminator man and but vitamin he gets the fucking. I don't even know what is this. A doorstop of like a little piglet doorstop doorstop right I was like. Is this sent award or like what like what happened. But do just crushes her fucking frontal lobe with that thing's great and she collapses lapses and bitches fucking dead killed by misery. Ron Love that right and misery. The pig I am on board with the symbolism show now the ending in the book it how how does this is this. The same thing like doesn't she like get away or they can't find under body like I can't remember her body or something. I just know that Paul continues to like in his mind. Even though he's like I know she's dead. He keeps seeing her everywhere. which we KINDA? I'm GonNa see that moment in. The movie is wild and the book. It's almost like more like he. He can't move on completely because he just sees is Anne everywhere he's like he's like. PTSD like transferred by it. Oh my God. I'm like a drug addict. I mean like if that's royal if that's what your metaphor is for the movie You know you don't immediately get over drug addiction. ECON have to deal with the aftermath of that or acts acts right. Cut Eighteen months later. Paul's having lunch with his with his agent talking about the Higher Education Of Jay Phillips Stone is the book. I don't know what the fuck I thought that would be. I figured it would be something like Kakudi or something like something kind of funny like relating to his situation with her but all right. I don't know who I don't know what that is. She says she's getting reviews from times and stuff that is going to be rave You know and I love even as she's it s she's talking like it just everything stops because he sees that woman coming towards them. Yeah I'm your number one fan. Oh My fucking God I too like the the fact that like. I wonder how many times Stephen King has heard this. And he's like must be. Don't say this right and just tell casual like Paul is about. I just WanNa tell you I'm your number one fan and he's like that's very sweet of you dude. How do you not like get the fuck away from me? Okay how do you not just like flip out on this bitch but I mean that's misery man. That's IT.

"What's going on guys? Welcome back to incur. Stay in late. Hang in for the second part of our misery coverage because as we are freshly squeezed as we like to say around here are bladders are empty. Our drinks are full and we're locked and loaded and ready to crank right back into this shit. So we're we're kind of left off you know Basically Paul's escaped. He's gotten this novel rural the always asking any for you know. Make us pain go away. She gives them the note pad. What I like about that? And we didn't mentioned mentioned on the you know at the end of this. Every little thing she gives him is like a tool everything. She gives him the fork. He uses it to make a little like drug cozy. Yeah it gives him. She gives him a notepad he uses the notepad slipped to drugs and of the Holy Shit. Like this guy so resourceful. I think that's just something I wanted. I know the right you know. Meanwhile on the on the outside world the search for Paul is still going on. It's intensifying their flying around until his car is finally found and he is presumed dead by the authorities. Buster however is totally unconvinced due to the prime prime prime marks on the door which just just very fucking obvious by the way nobody else like. Catch that like the COP. The Guy Doing the talking to the press is like well. Obviously he's been dragged off off by some type of large Yeti creature raped and murdered. He's been eating at this point for sure. It's like Holy Shit. This guy like you ever heard of bigfoot. That's in our clearly. Have you heard of the book. BIGFOOT or his albino cousin the Yeti kwach right but yeah basically you know. This is where he sees the prime marks on the door and he realizes he's like hey listen you know he's he's straight up says he's like this guy's not dead like there's no. There's no way there's no way that you know the unle- unless unless a fucking wolverine came in pried the door open and dragged him off to their nest like there's no no way fucking dead like dateline. He knows what's up. Virginia just makes him watch all the shit and he's hi. Stephanie Dateline they do I think his relationships one hundred years old. This happened back in nineteen fifty one crazy person kidnapped the famous person that crashed the car. Crazy what a world this happened during the civil war law that I am with And and basically said he he knows that there's no fucking way the falls dead and Ezzor. Meanwhile going back to where I like this bouncing back and forth really really the only kind of outside world view we get is through Basra in Virginia and I really like that just shows that like their people haven't forgotten about Paul. They know you know like I. I I really really dig that. And but Paul basically gets to work on a gift to work on the novel He. He's you know he's he's kind of staring at the thing like the fuck am I gonNA write. You know. He's just kind of looking at it. Like what the what the Hell am I gonNA do. But I he makes exists. I like to call this his his rookie Kaleida that he makes her any. You know he starting to put the pills in a little pouch. And he's he's he's getting ready. He's playing I love this. He's playing both sides of this. He's like I've got you know I've got to keep her at bay just long enough for me to get this thing Get this thing rolling. he gets cracking on the novel. He gets cracking on the novel in meantime but however any tells him that isn't up to par and I'll have to start over again. This whole shit about the rocket rocket man serials like that whole scene. Oh God the way he correct sir. He's like yeah they they call them. You know she's like is has walked with a chapter place They call them cereals. I know that Mr man like Holy Shit no cliffhangers. That's what he says She just flip shit but like this is exactly exactly. I can't remember which one you mentioned. But she just doesn't. She does not fucking for anything. She remembers everybody who has crossed her. And this is something where it's like. Yeah I mean three four decades ago that she remembers and she's like I just the unjust that she feels that. It's like the finale of loss getting thrown jess. I can't very talked to keep it cool. I love the thing. I love how she freaks I love. She's still thinking about this thing from her childhood that you cannot move past deep down leary over on the hilarious part is yes she goes to this whole thing cheated us this bear. He didn't get out of that duty car and he's like well you know they. They always did that and he I think he goes to say cliffhangers. He's like oh I mean chapter the point he likes straight up has to like again just need to survive. He's like I I've got I've got just been to her will love what she says after that Let me let me read this right. So she says but not. You're not with my misery. Remember Ian Detroit Righto Dr Clear at the end of the LAS book but his horse fell jumping that fence and in brackish altered his ribs and lay the all night in the ditch so he never reached the doctor they couldn't have been any quite experimental blood transfusion transition. That saved a lot of misery was buried in the ground at the end poll. So you'll have to start there. What the fuck like yourself pitch right? It's fucking crazy. I mean because it sounds like crap anyways experimental guard it. Sounds like it's just sounds like worse fan fiction ever written but just is like a really gaming laptop there I was like I was waiting for some kind of payoff. But yeah but yeah. He gets to crack in starts rich from scratch all over again. Any loves new direction policy-making even though it sounds like complete and total fan fiction fucking garbage garbage right I. I'll home dude. How will the crazy part is she? She starts going on about how you know. Oh it was that be staying. Put Her in the coma and they realized that the same thing had happened to lady. Evelyn hide and that the the the grave keeper Wilkes realized that she must have been born of nobility. I've known I've ever since I started the books I knew that she had to be born of nobility. It's like no you crazy bitch. Like you did not know she was not board of nobility he is literally writing this to like like just facilitate your fight on aids right like Holy Shit just how fucking up to she s today. Yes that's the shawshank reference do just like the crazy part is let me put. Let me put my phone down here. Hold on the crazy part. It is. I've got my fingers pointing together Mike. Listen here the crazy part is I know people who were like this. who were like okay? You remember this part when this happens now God and she's getting into the way that fans do but it's so it's so scary you know. There's there's there's something different about like I've geeked out with with with with friends French before we're movies. Oh Yeah you remember this part you remember them but this whole other level she has has just like it's it's almost I mean it is. It's bizarre to watch twelve right. Were and how she how she dances. Miseries alive miseries allied. Hi It's insane right. Oh hundred percent. Yeah under present. In the way that she goes was on. She's like well she wake up and love Ian with that perfect special. It's like she's like quotes like whatever TV show he set it on whatever time. Yeah this is like this crazy thing whereas like okay any but it's no big deal. I have all these copies. All all these people have them and she knows he doesn't and there's nothing he can do because he has that it. And she's that obsessed with him crew slows. This one thing he said one time a TV show like a PDF page. Hey just remember that time. I came to Boston and I met guys. Gaza's this podcast is and I was like. Hey guys I'll be listen to podcasts. Three years took time murdered. This kid is like hooking up. Isn't he here. Come into my car. Let's go back to it. Turns on the wrong side of the road. Yes so you know she goes John. Yeah he's like listen. No one will ever know about the book you know. What does she say is as long as it does exist? Your mind will never be free man. He fucking yeah. She threatened to with the lighter. Fluid I she's kind of tossing it on the bed and that is terrifying like the like. Yeah what's yeah. Yes it's so nonchalant and it's like ooh by getting a little close like But Paul he begrudgingly lights match that his newest book goes up in flames. All around the room. You must be so devastating like garage. Even imagine because like I'm sure if so easily in times on like all LSU media podcasts but like I was a creative writing major. I started college like my whole life. Like that's all I've ever wanted to do was like write a book and I a million things in in to lose lose something especially a novel which is almost impossible to write like. If I have a short story I lose it. I would cry for three days. Backup the Noli and that to me is like I can understand like the absolute like devastation of this is painful to watch because I cannot imagine writing an entire novel. Because you can't recreate something you can try and it comes up better maybe comes out worse but you you can never recreate something. Thank God. That's that's like that is like especially for an author for someone like Paul Who's finally writing his first book. That's different like this. This is definitely like emotional torture like it is really really bad like I really feel for him. In this moment it is terrible. Huggy mess why they always throw him at like kill your darlings in this is just like Oh my God. This is like it's like losing a dead like I mean not to that extent but like losing this thing that will never come back to him. It's like losing a kid like Holy Shit. Here's this yours this thing that I had. That's like Oh my God you know and you said you might get it back. Maybe you remember the plot points. Maybe you remember the story from beginning to end. But you'll never get those little details right ever again like you might even remember. Most of the podcast cast. I don't maybe in the early days I think we should know. I don't think we really ever lost one. Did we tell you know we have. I'm telling you right now calling. We have none none phase your presentation episodes of the upcoming attractions. Holy Fuck and you know what I taste one where you talked about how you lost the recent one right. Actually I just listen to that because you know why a fucking I thought I'd save my shit and then like I deleted it and then like I saved over that fucking file and go to Matthew is like Oh my God matthew. I'm so sorry like like this is one of those ones are kind of like real easy easy to do. Because it's just you know like bullshit news topics and like trials and stuff and we can cut shit out if it was one of these podcast. Astor's like covering a movie than I'd be like okay. I'm done I'm done with podcasting right. It's a nightmare and we get back on. We go from beginning to end and we get the story but we'd never have that Camaraderie back. We'd never have that same staged. Yeah right exactly. Repeat Things and tell the same joke like we. We've had moments in podcasts. Where like you forgot to hit record and it's like what jokes that I tell I can go back and like tell them again again But like we lost a whole chunk of like harlow fall season only had to literally rerecord entire ending and because of the nature of the got. podcast it came out completely different. It ended completely different than than the original ending. So crazy to think of something like that like in the original ending lost awesome. Wherever I'm like we know it but no one else ever will? Because when you're redoing like creative things like sometimes it just takes a different route stuff like that is like like I mean mean and that's like a podcast like doing it for fun. y'All got your checking my fucking recording. Click over here. Make sure everything's audio recording. I'm watching it's because like after tea is like you're still kind of like letting the technical ropes of this of the of this whole podcast housing Ding and still fucking moved from the bodies mythic. This is true but But yes so he lets the book on fire. I love the anti has to kind of pry the matches away from Paul. Like he's Kinda thinking about. Just I'm I'm just GonNa do it just like Glenham cellphone fire. You could tell. He's just like he's dead inside but she has like open his hand up to pull the matches away. Love that little detail emme. The whole book goes up in flames. I think we also see buster flying around in the helicopter. We see that he's he's still he's I wanted to. This is this is my other big sort of like a really big issue but come like a logical thing. So he's flying around in this helicopter looking for this missing famous Rutta and he he says to the pilot that's been up there and then he points over to the Wilkes farm. He's like the only other place up. There is a femme as the sheriff do you not. I don't know that you and your precinct or whatever the fuck you're looking off to hear that there is a well somewhat convicted not really convicted convicted criminal. WHO admitted five babies like is that not a thing where you'd just be like okay? WE'RE GONNA go check out the woke song because as a potentially really dangerous individual here may have somewhat had something to do with like foul play with this famous. Although I don't know that was just something that I really would. Maybe check doc everywhere favorite really believed you live some some. I think that yeah. That's the due diligence to check everywhere but two things that she's a reclusive. She didn't even have a phone. But B I mean he has to go to the library later on even read about that shit so it's like she does he not know any of that stuff because he hasn't ah I mean why would he have to look it up but then be I mean. She's so off the radar that there's no I don't think there's any there hasn't been any reason for him to look that enough yet so it is right there and it just kind of like maybe you should just I mean hey do quit google still google like that will search real quick and check out any smartphone you type in Colorado snoopy's I what trying to figure it out. So yeah she get any gives. Paul has novel and You know he kind of stops and he stashes them away instead of taking them. We see the wheels in motion. Paul all is starting to. He's got to do something. I can't just sit here. She's GonNa fucking kill me like I've got. I've got to do something and and I like you know. He says to me and then he takes the fork and cuts the thing into the mattress and statism away them and I was like. That's kind.

"It I like it. It's good character bill. It's her just giving a little bit of what's hilarious this is it's it's a little bit of monologues. Maybe sometimes it doesn't really feel lex position. He it just kind of feels like a mommy. Oh kind of it almost seems kind of draw now but the whole time we were like. Why is she sitting here talking to him and she talks about her husband? Being gone on it was very hard for her. And that's when she got into the misery books and then he just pulls the fucking Bedpan pissed bucket out. That is fucking walking. A Larry is one line here that I don't WanNa go pause like after. She talks by the hunter he says. When my husband left me I wasn't prepared? It wasn't an easy time and then you get the line for a while. I thought I might go crazy. Yeah the fact that you think you'll pasta like you know what I mean the fact that you you rage H. system of like Like crazy here but then you realize that like Nah. I'm over it but really you're not here any you're not really it's Kinda crazy looking at lizzy caplan. Who plays any wilkes the castle rock? And I'm like I would smash lizzy there's get my Dick Anywhere near talk. Shit come so curious. I guess we'll have to watch this season castlerock secondary. I'm sorry I'm so curious like a Sir can blame. You should come off as the the only single one on this. PODCAST I would want to be with Lizzy Caplan for sure got smashed capital. I'm like Oh yeah I'm just thinking about it and so I'd like to just be with our allies crafts. Oh man what's it mean. Girls was. She's the one one who is talked about neo made any chest hair. Oh she was she was she was. Okay Oh cool party down. Only two seasons and it was like Adam Scott Lizzy caplan. They basically play like wannabe actors in La. So they're working for a catering officer they can't get jobs actors like Ken Marino Finance. Really funny you should check it out really really like them. Scott shoes included film cloverfield failed time. Machines Paul Yeah. She's John John cusack like eighties girl. I guess I never sold it back to this fucking movie where we just. We literally like. It was skipping rocks and upon like six movies and somehow made it back to dry land with misery. Oh look this is what we do. Listen so so You know she s. She said she was lonely. Your husband left her. She can go crazy love. She just a visual gag of her. Like kind of sloshing around the PISS and watching his is like a Can you be careful. What really really good? By the way. When I broke my leg I had to Piss in those things as well like he's he's been park accident that shit and the Bedpan like in the hospital trying to take trying to take a shit at home with a dislocated knee is like one leg completely stretched out Joya? My God this is it's just we gave you the best content dream Sunni as soon as any read about misery stash she storms in Paul's room and she is also verbally and physically. He attend to explain. But she's not having any of that shed I lessen the way she slept the dude amazing close on her really really really good like I love this. So and he's just you know. Hey a lot of people died. During a lot of women died in childbirth was very typical. She nothing Hafner she just slipped away. No no you humored are you murderer and she says I thought you were good Paul. But you're not good. You're just another lying old dirty. Birdy I think I better not be around here for a while. pad May skywalker. Just lost the will live. Ah I can smell the low self esteem and body odor from the emails emails from Star Wars Fan through the wall. And this this is where the Jay is up. I mean and he's just like hey I didn't tell anybody I didn't call doctors. I didn't call your agent or your family. Nobody knows you're up here and you better hope. Nothing happens to me because if I die you die like Yep terrifying man as office when he realizes he's in a lot of war he was just like now he's like oh the scenario before she's a little weird by nineteen ninety. I think I'M GONNA get out safe. And then it's like I have some bad intentions getting real dicey more and and it's been very civil up to this point everybody's just trying to get along and now. Oh you know that Paul because it seems like the point where you go fuck you. You're crazy fuck you fuck you fuck you. And it's like no because he has to like he has to play the game came like a or else he's dead. It's it's so interesting because like in your mind you're going like dude. The civility is over with now like this kindness and all the ship and it's like no he has to a he has to go along with his game and he was so smart about what he does here and I love him for it. I Love Paul Sheldon for for the way he plays her. And all the shit off. uh-huh Bruin this to things that are really bump up to in this movie right And one of them's coming up at one is kind of like here. When she she liked tells him that muggy? No nobody's fearing on the doctor's not your agent. I in this situation immediately start to use. I like the PSYCHOL- psychology against a thought to be like USO inlaws. Weighed like my Rodney and with me in your infatuated. May I'd kind of like use that to my advantage of media and like I feel like poll takes a little while to start doing that. If that makes sense like I feel like it takes him a little bit to start using to start kind of like kind of like schmoozing a little bit if that makes sense right. He's definitely he's definitely buttering up her biscuits. Yeah I feel like it takes little. It takes a little bit too much time. That's just part of me watching this now. I would love to see an ending where Paul just takes takes a bunch of the novel and he's like you have to take the hospital now like why because I just took a bunch of novel and I'm going to overdose. Oh what do I do like to. Yeah that'd be cool. Yeah right what do I what do I do like. Oh God I'd love to see him get the upper to the inning of this movie like God. I didn't fucking come in. My pants guarantees. She would like stop pumping his stomach like she knew something guy she reduced. I was just thinking about that Anti drives off politics to leave his bed ultimately. It doesn't really really. It doesn't really make them much farther than the floor. The importance of this scene. I feel like it's to show that Paul does he is actively trying to escape. He's I listen. I don't care if I have one neo literally one arm and to legside behind my back. I'm fucking leaving. But it doesn't matter because she's locked him in his room so there's no way and if he could walk like what is it. What are they going to? You know the next morning any health fall back into his bed and she tells him she has a big surprise for him. I love this whole thing I you know I you know I I understand. My mind is cluttered. I can admit that she's like I couldn't even remember all the stuff they were asking me on the witness stand Denver and his look on his face is I know like it's so good it's like it's almost comedic looking to say like you so locked. Like what the fuck are you talking about. And he says Goddess Liverpol under her so she can show him the way. Not Ed I don't ever want to hear that sentence come from somebody's mouth like there is nothing good that can live with. It's going to be an awkward thirty minute conversation with me trying to get away from you in a parking lot to get into my car was witness to the stop me or or you can capture me in the house and you're gonNA fucking hobble my legs. Those are the only two options aircraft that dude I we get. There's a couple of Mormons Norman's always ran our apartment complex. I try shoe off of the broom and it just come back down there. They're really they're really very nice people but like they stop us. We have like a crock pot in our arms. We have a bunch of Shit. We're coming back from like a family thing and they're like Oh. Hey what's going on Yup and I was just like yeah. We're Jewish and they're like Oh okay that's interesting and it was the only way to deactivate them by just to actually like the only option as like I would. I mean I literally said it sounds wonderful. It's like offering a vegetarian a stake. I'm sure that's nice but I just can't. It sounds Nice. She says the God delivered him. Show him the way. She did produces a grill with his new novel as the main course Speaking of stakes she tells Paul than he needs to burn his his book. He tries to dissuade her telling you that there's dozens of copies of it. And she calls his bluff saying that he never makes Never makes any copies due to a superstition. I love the back and forth here. He's like he's What does she say she's like A? Oh yeah he's doesn't copies of Vardon made it. It doesn't matter. She has been light. The match she goes doesn't matter either way she goes as.

"Them because an older underground mustache on like I feel safe now as soon as I saw him not only didn't crash so that was good. Not only do I feel safe. I'm slightly aroused at this man. He looks like Sam Elliot. The agent calls and she's worried because Yeah Paul has called her but he also has reached out audrey keeps in touch. When he's doing a book she asked the Buster Call Her he hears anything about Sheldon? Sorry God the the The interesting part is I love how she's like. I don't know there's something kind of like a movie star quality to her obviously but she's like tell me I'm being silly and he was like yeah sure or whatever I'll call you if I hear anything like she's I don't know there's something he so warm and friendly right off the bat that these people don't even know each other she's I don't know to me. That was a very reformer gesture. Like you could just tell me. I'm being silly about this. He's now check it out. I'll let you see anything. Because right like a post it note to himself and I love the whole thing of the system system that is exactly like how my little desk and Shit looks at work to shit scattered everywhere and I'm like it's a system. Don't fuck with it. Don't touch it like it. All works So so yeah you know. Basically were introduced to bus right here. He writes a post it note. I love seeing him flick with a rubber band and just shows you that he's thinking about this is processing. The facts is he knows them even however minimal so far any Paula shave and she gushes over. How much How much she enjoys his work? How she's glad she saved him so that the world can get more of his work? I'd love how careful she has not to hurt him here. It just shows again in how I mean how much she loves Paul. But we don't know to the extent how much she loves him yet. It's just like okay. Well she's a number one fan okay cool. But she's a decent human being probably they just want to slit his throat now. She's not a decent human being. She was slid anybody's throat. But it's fucking she just especially about this guy it's like. She's molding a sculpture. Thanks very careful not to fucking damage it. I like the the amount of love and care and tenderness that she's showing Paul here. It's it's already already telling of like hell. She's told US already have like how big a fan she has like. This is like through a actions like you know that she is next level. Deranged changed and in the way that she's dressed as well. There's something about the I mean the the the huge bundle of clothes and stuff that she's wearing she's not I mean she's she's has to button buttoned all way to the toxically. None right and she's gotTa Cross around her neck and there's almost no skin exposes for head like no sexual anything about her she gnarly drudge nece but just like just like sexless like in the big close and in like no skin showing. It's very eerie. Right I mean like a sexual thing right I mean like you know that like all this like sexual repression is GonNa Elitism slotting somewhere down the road. She's basically not died in this movie. Even know how what a slump in the club she would have gone to the Alfred she would have orange. I'm sure she's going to be making that with old man Busta while his dad. That's that's the style. Thank God rewarded set in on his penis in the fuck. Now I forgot what I was gonNA say the God Damn it I lost you. Did I ruin learn myself there. I don't know I was thinking about. Oh yeah she's a she's about as she's got about about as much sex sex appeal as a bag of potatoes. Basically fries. Derrick come on Scottish back off. That's my woman now I I is exactly what you guys had. There's something were pressed. How buttoned up? She is how close she is. How you know how there's no skin showing? They're just layers upon layers layers and the closer you get to the center of the closer. It stinks Then not just because she probably smells like Shit No I'm just kidding So Paul asked about the phone lines at which anti says they're still down until the roads up and again she keep trying them in the meantime she notices his new book and ask Paul the Reader. Which Paul Paul allows I love the way he does as I do? Have a very hard and fast rule about who reached my stuff at such an early stage. Only my editor my agent and anyone who saves me from freezing to death in a car wreck. It's so charming addicted man in any situation. This would be this would be great because like the way she reacts is kind of adorable. She's she's actually she's so good at like pulling you in it making you trust her like she's her reaction to that is like oh that's kinda sweet like but did that's all before fourche becomes a fucking maniac. Isn't it interesting to all of you and I think this every time I watch this or she has this book she saves it from from the car. Paul has no idea about anything and she does not just go and read it on. Her Own. Weight is healthy enough that she can ask him. She can read it very very interesting because I I'm not sure if in clearly she hasn't read it she's not lying to him in and she has already read it and she's saying like can I read it like you've done that like I remember like I used to watch like lost with my dad and we watched episodes together and like sometimes like I home school when he went home from work and I literally watched episode loss and then re watch it with him and pretend I hadn't seen it like you know we've all of them at to actually. I've done the people that I've seen movies in the cinema like I watch myself like on like opening die and it's like. Oh Yeah Yeah. I haven't seen that Mary let's watch it and then the opening the day thing like I do well but it's interesting to me but she's obviously not lying because she's so angry about the book when she reads that you know she wasn't lying so it's like what Paul has it's a No. She couldn't read at like it. It's just such an interesting thing about Anne and like you say like to to pull you in to her almost as a person and you're like oh she she. She could've told him. The book was lost like she never even had to tell him. She took the book from the car. You know what I mean which does not no. She saved the book and she asks him. It's almost like she wants his approval like twitter. She wants Paul be like yes. Read My Book Anne. It's really interesting. It's very smart right. It kind of has this feeling of like you did a good thing any. I'm validating you. I will allow you to do this like it right and I think it makes sense with her. I mean fucked up as it. Is this moral code that she has about sleeping with people and dating and you know there's no nobility to to like I mean. Do I think she really in her. Core possesses those things no only surface level shit when it comes down to taking away the thing that she loves it was all those things. Go out the window. But when it's like something about this book like I mean what what Paul do if he was like no. I don't want you to read it way to take your role and I'm just GONNA go late. Set my broom and read it like fuck you right choice right exactly but I saw you let read the book we get this really quick scene of the sheriff going checking with Libby. This guy who owns creek lots of it's not a super important into showing that the sheriff is doing his due diligence and my notes. The sheriff has Hudson intends to follow it. God damnit Aw That's all I put in the note. He's but we see the again. The kind of I don't WanNa say superstition the ritual. That Paul has don carry-on. He smokes a cigarette. He comes here every single time. He's a quiet doesn't bother anybody's nice guy there is. That is the only thing about Paul that like what are what are his whatever. What are Paul's flaws? Like I don't really know you.

That's true well and there's a really funny part about the whole shit and Denver later on that I'll get to I almost blurted out because it's so Oh fucking funny but I can't wait to get to it. She says I'm your number one fan. She gets into pills. Says he's been there two days and that she's a she's a nurse and the roads. You say like the timeline like that's that's a good movie if you can in nine minutes established is quite like yeah but you know. She goes over. Paul's injuries. Says you're still taking the hospital sues. The roads are open that fucking gnarly ass leg reveal. Oh my God. Have you guys ever broken a bone. Yeah like once would you bring Zoe. Burke Burke my ankle Amora leg I love that you guys read to me and not even straight to the toes Johnson down rain a couple of ankles dude safe. I've only broken arm once but I had dislocated the same knee twice ten years and laying laying on the ground and looking over and seeing your knee out of socket and laying on the side of your leg is like I almost vomited both times and of course occupied me. I had to slap it back into place just slapped it and play pop right back into place never went to the hospital either time by the way funny funny mini side tangent engine. So the way I broke my ankle was a roller Costa. And Yeah Yeah that is probably. I'm not a millionaire story. Oh my God. Google accident at an amusement parks for hours. Yeah this is this is. Google rapid whole my little I literally will google like Amusement Park accidents for like hours now afraid of them. No I'm sure story right. I'm sharing this with the they fall to for the faulty lock. You in like the straps words on so that in it was in the carriage. Ah wasn't it wasn't really a full-on like rollercoaster with like a linear sort of track. It kind of like it's hard to explain it but like school like like a kid who was definitely just it was fucking for us. Just didn't go basically me rather my dad wearing the same carriage and like we were in there and they clipped us in and the Balkan of camels in the middle of the holy and my dad gets crazy. 'cause I remember I remember everything about it was fucking insane dude. That would've punch the motherfuckers outdo. There's no way like eight months. I was injured Terry. Like he had broken fingers and Shit and Shit because it was time I fool. Remember like the the ambulance ride and Yeah what a Pussy anyways refuse the it was like fucking six years old Years old so fuck you. That's crazy man. That's fucking the whole point. Point of view bring up. These injuries is like the feeling of that of your immobility for just from your toe or your ankle or locating the now imagine you could hear your bones owns in your leg moving around like I feel like Jim Carrey in that scene of dumb and dumber when he sees here. He and Mary like kissed. He's like like I can't like you did that. Same fucking sound effect lost episode. That same fucking reddit. Do you WanNa talk about dumb. And dumber. Is that out next. Can Pattern the next podcast. It's Mary love to do that. But yes we have. This gnarliest leg reveal you know his just completely fucking mangled I mean so basically. He's got one good arm that's it I mean the other. She had to pop his shoulder blade back in. She had to reset as I am not going to go through the laundry list. The ship is broken but he's fucked up basically in we see her legs in the stint. I mean she does a good job she is a she. She has acknowledged urged. Russia is she obviously does well polls agent calls the the Silver Creek Police San were introduced. And I don't WanNa Guy Pasta pills. She talks about the novel yes novel Yes yes. Yeah which is I. I mean he ever taken that should it is a blast. That's affected me. Does it probably is. I don't know it. Sounds like a real drug fictional it is. I just googled it. Because I'm like I know it's called novel on the Book Too. I wonder if it's real awful and and this is what comes up. Misery Nineteen Ninety. Ask Fictional movie pharmaceutical drugs ahead of a novel. Sounds like nasal so I think Stephen King was like what. What do I shove my mouth wonder what it's based on? Now there is a novel maybe think of like man. There's some there's some I mean the kids. If it's it's a fake drug does such a good job of making a fake drug. That sounds so real as acknowledge. That sounds kind of I if I had had me thinking like. Did she get some kind of expired painkiller not on the market anymore and take it all home with her like that latter no it just made me think like. She liked jacking cuevas from the eighties. What's much Gotcha? That picked up on it immediately. that it wasn't real like for me like I'm pretty good with that kind of stuff that's like. Oh it's kind of fictional. Wow good for you. It was like Oh we'll conduct. That's all real life. It just seemed like morphine type like like an animal medicine not human medicine. So I'm like novel around. She served she starts given the pills. Awesome right off the rip. We see we she. Yeah she's fucking just open them up and Shit Paul's Asian Call Silver Creek police when we are introduced to buster plays is Richard. Farnsworth is at the name of that right. Richard Farnsworth. Yeah Richard Toured allemand the as soon as they said Farnsworth I was just like I know coop new. ooh That's all I can think of Futurama. As soon as she said foreign word but I mean it right off the rip. How how personal this guy I mean? I grew up in a small all twenty to thirty thousand population town in the south. This guy feels so real. I have met this guy. I know this guy he you see himself. Oh my God you know. I'm also the chairman for the chief of police ballroom. Something and if you need a fishing guide you could do a lot worse. Call Me Buster Mr. Everybody does God damn right off the riff. He's so natural right way and I think it's I mean it's so intentional too because you know by the end of of it. He's walking around with fucking both barrels of Assad off in the fucking back like I mean it's ducks but it's it just makes that knife dig so much deeper because he so he's a mystic to me like he has this you know he it's. It's the really blue eyes. It's the white hair it's the baddest. Yes Ashtray yeah that white without white asked mustache and that awesome fucking lifeless. Jack and I'm like this guy is like a Texas ranger or something. I don't know what it is about him. The mustaches like older gentlemen not like like the pedophile mustache. "Train your you tell me. I'm not supposed to drink kool-aid now I And I think that like exactly what you said. She's she's more relevant now the never but she's not what's crazy is that she's not a troll like people on the Internet are nowadays. She's just a psychopath. That's I think that's the thing I think that yeah he. She doesn't have phantoms. That she connects you like this all. She cares about as misery. It's not like she's a fan of John Laura and there's four five thanks your honor. She loves all she cares about his misery. Sorry antics she's the extreme version of what we see a lot of today and US crazy. That I also thought about is you know I guess we can just Kinda go right in with with Paul wrecking this car at the beginning just to kind of Nice little transition there The thing is you know what's fucked up all this shit and and I sat there and had like a holy Shit Kinda moment. Yes if any does not come along and I mean all this crazy shit that she does is so fucked up but without it. Paul is dead. He is never found in the car. And it's crazy that he has to go through all the shit but he would be fucking dead and it and it made me think about it like what would you rather do. Would you rather rather freeze to death in the car or would you rather have this woman the Abi at the begging you know be be at the mercy of this woman for however many months. He's there and her fucking breaking your ankles wrinkles instead or would you rather die or would you rather risk it staying with this woman in Holy Shit. That's Kinda crazy I think about that. It's a good question right right. Well kind of in these beginning moments dry dinner because hey fucking love this movie. It's got angry movie Stephen King Fuck off. What are you want? We see kind of traditional finishing these books. He's finished this untitled kind of I guess like a almost like a memoir almost autobiographical. It seems like it's a lot more closer sorta home and it's really weird. Seeing James Caan James Caan the of the corleone family writing these misery loved novels. Like what the fuck. Tuck like an ed part of that I read is what intrigued him about it because it was a break of typecast for him which was great. I mean I think everybody should reach for that at some point But it is very odd seeing this guy who's like the the bad dad in Elfin. He's read he did that. Show Las Vegas and Sunny Leone. And he's in thief. If with Michael Man I mean he does so much shit. And it's like what it's Kinda crazy is nothing that's off guards. It's like it's a good firm right. Exactly Ebony Eh. I love all this this the the superstitious writer kind of trope now. He smokes one cigarette. He drinks the dawn period. You know he does these. Thanks in order and it almost reminds me of like athletes like athletes are very like. Don't change their gym socks because they bring them luck. It's like Jerry. You're beard right right. It's very you know it's funny. Seeing their saints kind of lead over from from different forms of sports or leisure or or or whatever. It's it's really kinda crazy But you know Paul it gets newest Mustang. I love and throwing the snowball still got it. But I've been up on that music stars like dude. I love that I really dig the way that I mean really really we just show him kind of driving and in the first five minutes we're fucking locked and loaded and were in this movie. He wrecks the car. We see his. You Know Oh oh yeah. He's talking to Warren Bacall by the way his agent do she was. She's married a fucking Humphrey Bogart as like Holy Shit. Like I didn't realize who this woman was never seen Lauren. The call in a movie. I didn't really know anything about her. And I started read about like Holy Shit. She acted her ass off while she was alive. She was on a lot of stuff. But I I mean really in the first like five minutes. We're fucking locked and loaded and in this movie. We see him wrecking the car. It's it's it's it's fucking you know it's it's it's crazy. I mean right off the rip you would think for a movie that only kind of takes place in one setting. That's an hour and forty five minutes long that it would seem that the record might happen happen like towards the later part you know what I mean like not in the first five minutes maybe the first ten maybe the first fifteen but right off the rim and the first five minutes is right there. That's it's crazy because watching this now I was thinking. Yeah this is going to start ten fifteen minutes down the road so they can you know kind of build up to this now it starts like right away and you know he tells his he tells his agent. You know she saikia. Oh well look. What misery did she put braces on Didata Teeth and put us through college? genug often killer. And it's like I. I like that line. It's really funny. But like he says. I don't want this to become my life. He's I you know. Maybe if I can finish this book I will be. I will have something that'll be proud to put on my tombstone but I kinda wanted to get a look at one of the misery books if they were like fifty shades of grey. You know like like like I really wanted to see if it was like just dirty shifted. He was writing Mesa. Steel like Romance Novels. Like that's how how I imagine. I think the ones will be on the cover. Yes right that's how I imagined. Miseries novels like ever read Stephen King Novels. Just about say like I I really raid I really read fiction anymore. I've been totally like on this kick of like rating autobiographical shed So like I will dive back into and fiction here and I'll start off with Daniels to the recommendation from me. My grandma reads okay. I was going to shit my sixty five year old mom read so. I'm pretty sure my grandma has Danielle Steele books. I'm pretty sure my aunt has a secret collection of them. It's brought up when I was a kid I Kasa. It's just so weird looking at James Caan beyond you wrote like as she unsheathes his cutlass and he exposed her to the weird but basically Paul Rex Sinoe. This is the whole setup. I love the the imagery of him. The corn just coming to all the blood overstretch like Holy Shit. This is like the wreck doesn't look terrible. You know it's like it's that's kind of bad and then you look at their car and you're like Oh fuck he's really fucked up. But Anne fucking any comes and saves the day fucking linebacker occur. Annie Wilkes Holy Shit Fried the crazy parts of me. I don't know if you guys caught this. But she looks inside the car. Her first instinct is not to grab pole and get him out of the car. She grabs the book correct. She has a look and I was like Ooh and I felt so proud of myself for a catch in that as I got you bitch I see what you're doing there. I've got a question for you guys. Okay so would you. Would you have preferred in this in this situation. Here the correct would you have preferred her to somehow set up this car wreck so she can get pole in her else would rather had been it been an accident go for Jeff. I think that's hard because I think that almost makes it like to the two militias cues like like it's it's almost like just too cute like her being like. I like the idea that she sits and just watch watches him constantly and noses routine always come to this cabin and she's just waiting for her opportunity. I 'cause we we know she's a killer right. She's kill people before also opportunistic. It's because she's working as a nurse and she has these sick patients is going out and putting people in a situation where she acts in this manner. She's like a very opportunistic psychopath. So far Q. I think I would complain like I. I think I bet you'd be right here on this podcast. Why and I think when you look at someone like Annie? I don't think that she it has. I mean it's Paul Sheldon like would she be able to because she does know what happened she could very will kill him and she would probably kill herself for doing that so she I just I think not only I think if this were normal person I mean we. Should we see what she's capable. She pushes people down the stairs. Murders people later on so. I don't think killing clean. People is beyond her possibilities but the fact that she can't control what might happen. Appall if she sends this car flying off you know he could break his bag. Sorry sorry I think anything can happen so it is kind of interesting like she just waits for that moment. She's almost like the spiders you see. Wait underground and assessing POPs up. They come out of the cave even snatch it and pull it back and I was like Holy Shit but But yeah I mean like I said she she pry them open with that Crowbar. Which is definitely gonNA come back later? And she got up hill up hill with that man on top of her like Holy Shit. I just I expected it to be like Dany Devito like under the clothes. I guess a stunt man or something just send someone thank God some courtly gentlemen like calling her up but But yeah he wakes up in a yeah I mean he wakes up what. What's what's the first thing he fucking? Here's when he wakes up number one fan like Oh my God like all the stewarded and crazy like dad. Not Hey how you feeling you can you see me. It's I'm your number one fan like that that that says so much about any wilkes character in this. Actually it comes back to the question like that you ask like if she had staged his accent all of these things and she wouldn't have done that she was just like Oh. I'm so lucky that I can rescue him. Because let's remember she's not read miseries trials and does not know he has killed misery at this point She hasn't read the unnamed manuscript that she can't stand because of the swearing so at this point like Paul's all good her book like she's a lot of his one towards room. She doesn't want anything you think. She's like so excited to read his new book. She finds out all the stuff while he's there you don't I mean this is the best opportunity ever like. She didn't want him to get her. You're in the situation. But when she saw she's like let me take this and she started to spiral once she started reading the other. Those two bucks well and and it's so interesting when you think about any because it's like imagine if she had just healed Paul after today's taking her to the hospital man she would would be You know she'd have a book dedicated in her honor. She would have all this attention drawn to her. She'd she'd get fucking Christmas cards every year from him but at the same time it draws draw the attention to her that hey this woman is probably a murderer who got away with it and it's going to re drudge all that shit back up which which is interesting. I think that I think that that plays a part of.

Paul Annie Wilkes James Caan Stephen King US John Laura Humphrey Bogart Warren Bacall Danielle Steele Michael Man Elfin Paul Sheldon Las Vegas Jerry Didata Teeth Lauren Paul Rex Sinoe

There's a lot of great podcasts over there but for Calorie Day just did any will since and as soon as I saw what the fuck is going on. What the good way to have only made this choice? Yeah we thought we were just so ahead of the curve and nobody was saying and I said off air is like this has to be some kind of subconscious castle rocks and not saying anybody's doing it deliberately but I mean it's just so weird that like without any kind of inside Information Jessica. The movie no because I wanted to read the book I know the first and then get back to me on the movie. 'cause there's a lot of stuff that's very interesting between like the different versions of the Shining Kubrick and the king and and anyway I I know this podcast is not that doctor sleep. I'd like to talk about it because I it's not. Can I be relevant. Can I please get enough because I because I heard Mike. Flanagan did hunting hill house which was great. He was trying to stay. Stay neutral and shrewd. Both of those and I was like dude. That's a hard line man. That's a hard lined hard. That's a hard road. Tell you know it's like that's going to be tricky for him to do.
