"But I think that's a heck of a get for Indiana because I do think Rick Carlisle's a good coach. Meanwhile, Dallas after moving away from Carlisle, Mainly because his relationship with their superstar player Luka, Dante, It was not the greatest. Instead, they bring in one of their superstar, former teammates. Jason Kidd, who had similarities in his game to Luke advantage, both of them tremendous handles and the ability to make others around them better. He assists guys, but Luca can flat out. Shoot it. Luca came into the league shooting it. It took Jason Kidd's years to develop a shot. Um, but he has been a highly respected assistant coach around the league. He leaves the Lakers to go take over Dallas and they hire Nico Harrison. A major Nike executive who has a lot of good relationships with Star players around the league. Um, we're seeing the light is in the lead these days that teams are hiring players. Away from the sport, but tangentially tied to the sport in pretty big decision, So they've got a new power couple in in Dallas. We know what happened in Boston. Danny Ainge walks away and they can't promote Brad Stevens to the presidency fast enough. I'm sure that these conversations were had well in advance of the official announcement that Danny Ainge was no longer going to be the president of the Boston Celtics. So with Stevens in as the new president they needed in a new coach and EMU Duca from a couple of different teams. Most notably San Antonio. But he had been with a couple of different squads over the last few years. Thought as one of the young up and coming best sit and coaches in the league is going to get his first chance in the big chair in Boston. I hope he's up for the job because that's a pressurized position, or at least it should be. We'll see how they handle this offseason if the Celtics are still now in a win now mode or if they decided to go in a different direction. Portland. I mentioned this in a tweet this week. I think it was all the way back to last weekend might have been lives. Aaron CBS Sports radio. Um, I saw a tweet from Peter Vessey if you don't recognize the name God bless you. Millennials. Um, Peter recipe for years was the number one informational guy in all of the media. He was They were Vessey bombs before they were ever woke Bombs. Okay, World forever for the New York Post. Was the insider on a couple of different I believe television networks, I think was NBC. NBC had the NBA package at the time and vast. He was one of their studio contributors, as acerbic as the day is long. But a just tied in great sources and contacts around the league guys you're gonna find and he mentioned this, I think was last weekend when Terry Stotts was let go in Portland. And Dame. Lillard immediately came out with Jason Kidd would be a great head coach for us and within 24 hours, Kid had shot it down, saying that he wasn't interested in the job or didn't it wasn't like a fit for him and Peter Vessey? Um, immediately tweeted that do you think that Jason Kidd decided to say he wasn't interested in the Portland job? Because he already knew that 20 Billups was a lock to get that position, and this is like a week ago. And I noted it and damn, if this week yesterday earlier today, whatever it was, um, it comes out to 20. Billups is gonna be the next head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers. So I had to give props to my buddy Peter Bessie, who have had on many times over the years, um, that although Peter's not writing full time the way he once did. He's still got his sources. And he had that one before any but any of the other NBA insiders that that was the new home of Chauncey Billups be interested to see Billups? I always believed was one of the smartest basketball players that I'd seen play in the last 15 20 years in the NBA, tremendous on court presence and capabilities. Oftentimes, that translates into being a good head coach. But not always. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't. It would be interesting to see We've never seen transit do it. This was he's not all that far removed from his playing days and only had a couple of years as an assistant. Walking off the floor as we speak because he's an assistant coach with the Clippers and the Clippers are trailing the sand at the half. They just went to have at Staples, but I'm interested to see Chauncey Billups. I like them as a player, and that was a hell of a player. I want to see what he does when he gets a chance on the sidelines. And there are three jobs still open. Not surprised. Well, surprisingly on one not necessarily, surprisingly, on the other to Orlando moved away from Clifford, who was a veteran guy would coach previously went into Orlando. He didn't get that program turned around short leash. He's gone. Scotty Brooks got a chance in Washington after Being relieved of duty in Oklahoma City. I still think Scott Brooks is a good coach, but he did not win in Washington would have predicted that he is out and New Orleans decided to move away from Stan Van Gundy. I wonder if Ben Gundy's ever going to get on a chance. He's had a couple of plays. The best spotty ever had was in Miami, and I thought he kind of got unfairly pushed out of that job. But he's now had several different cancers in several different places, and he's never recaptured that magic that this might be the end of the road on the sidelines for Stan Van Gundy, I gotta believe that is the number one position. Of those that are still out there. Chance to codes, Ion..

Justin void on deck over with two strikes here in a situation where he may shorten up just a little bit trying to get the ball in the air. At least he has to sack flies on the season. 12 pitch is taken Strike three called What Away in Justin Boyd will come to the plate. Tough at bad for Ryan. In fairness to him. The zone from Timothy Vessey seemed a little less generous early and Murphy able to get a little run on those last two pitches for called strikes. I think Ryan felt the pictures we're gonna be outside. But he ends up striking out looking bringing Boyd to the play Justin to 70 with five runs batted in. Justin has a sacrifice fly in the season. "This guy's got a pretty good gig. So I started to become familiar with the names more so than just You know, seeing the photos of the players and the teams that I liked and I think I became aware more of his talent. When I started studying journalism, myself and and as the Internet age came into fruition, having the ability to read the Star Ledger whenever and wherever And just kind of follow. You know what he wrote? I would Many years ago, I would read the New York Daily News a lot more when they had a really bigger staff. And now we also read the Starr legs were quite a bit and the New York Post with Peter Vessey and I started to recognize I think that Jerry Had just a general knowledge and expertise from pretty much any sport, And he brought a historical perspective to his writing, and he also brought a keen sense of Deep empathy for people and for underdogs, and he's a champion of racial equality and you know, a real vocal opponent of bigotry. He used the platform in his column, and I really admired that. I still do. There is no down, Jerry. Of course, you know, marrying Jerry being Jewish, growing up in Newark and marrying an African American lady and incredible relationship and somebody that's always Looked for equality in this country boy just ahead of his time and going against the grain back in the day for.

Thank you. Today. We want to talk to about the John Vessey chapter, the association, the United States Army, and you've got a guest. Would you like to introduce her? Yes, One of our key partners is our one and only a location in nine States Army chapter in Minnesota and the president that Jocelyn Kajal, and she's done amazing job leading the effort for the vestry chapter. Jocelyn, welcome back to Minnesota Military radio. Yeah. Thank you. So much apparent to believe This is our our third annual visit to the show, And we really appreciate our chance to come on here and highlight what we're what we're doing. Always good to talk to you. Just like this year would like you to tell us a little bit about the chapter name say who was General Jack Vessey Junior. Can you give us a little background on him and his his relationship with the association? Yeah, absolutely. Jack Bethea. He was known by his family. Friends loved ones. And you say that a career officer with the US Army and you've got an incredible list of accomplishments Award achievements. Better known by a lot of people attend chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Ronald Reagan. And you know he's just an incredible patriot and somebody that any environment service person would aspire to follow in my footsteps. Um and then on top of that, and have a golfer, storyteller, incredibly genuine, personable guy and I love When I go, you know anywhere in the military community, and somebody hears that I represent the names say his namesake chapter. Just the incredible things that people have to say about him. So we've got actually an entire page dedicated to history of Jack messy on our website, and I highly recommend checking that out at www dot Bessie chapter dot org's And what a great gentleman was chapter namesake Way had him on the show when he was still with us, and he had was in the Army and served from every rank from private to four star general. And then, of course, was the chairman of the Joint Chiefs. And what an incredible man Just Lin, the association local chapter, the trip Vessey chapter of the Association of States Army. What's your mission? And what do you doing here locally? During this crazy covert year. Yeah, I believe, you know, remains, um, support of the entire army and including, you know, you know they reserve component, which is prevalent here in Minnesota and their family in all veterans. So, um Locally. We are, you know, we've got a handful of different programs that they have gained in popularity and success. Over the years you'll hear more from from Mike about our toys for military camp, which is in its 19th year. We also have a plethora of different networking opportunities. Opportunities for, you know local businesses to be introduced into, you know, Defense Department type. Um, opportunity for them. We also the Holiday party at the VA and the piling trauma unit every year, providing Ah, you know, get in an enjoyable time for those Veteran but are experiencing that that right now on annual basis and then, of course, leadership opportunities for J. R. O. T. C in ROTC program statewide. Which have been hugely successful for those connect that are looking for opportunities, Leadership, not working, you know, or even their own. They're only Baton Memorial Death. Marjorie, the Army 10 miler. We're talking about the best teacher association. United States Army in Minnesota Military radio Jocelyn. Everything about 20 twenties has been different due to the pandemic. And I know that you have monthly meetings and used to have him out of the officers Club out by the airport. But I'm guessing For the last seven or eight months. You've probably had virtual meetings. Is that how it's working? We have, Um Yeah, We've been doing all of our meetings using virtual software we wait. We have a really nice base of local members who You continue to show up month after month for years that the officers club we ultimately moved over to the Richfield Legion after the opposite club clothes that this has been a really tough time for us. When we look at some of our most active members and leaders, you know they don't have barely have a history of utilizing the technology the way that we've all had to learn how to do it. So you know, we've still got a number of people that are coming every month to our virtual meeting that were able to get the business done. But we definitely are looking forward to Done. Send the normalcy. At some point. We've been instructed by issues they guided by our national leadership. Not they have any in prison events, their meetings whatsoever, which has hugely impacted our ability to peer toe. Execute some of our programming. A golf outing with had to be cancelled. And you starting with that attend memorial Death March back in March, we had a group of headed out there, and that was the first Event we had to cancel and ever ever since then, really everything other than our virtual monthly meetings have been Either not held that they normally would have been or we've had to adapt entirely. How we plan to execute some of the programming and it made our fundraising efforts incredibly hard this year. The net. I've seen you at these meetings and networking with all the people that used to come to the meetings. It's got to make your sad You can't be elbow to elbow with all the all of the great folks that are members of the association, United States Army. Yes, I've been able to attend their meetings and jostle and recruited me of chapter secretary So I helped him out with meeting minutes. But it's been an opportunity. Tio have to recreate the wheel but hassling her leadership have done a great job without Justin. We just got about a minute left in this segment coming up in the holidays usually have a holiday party over at the VA and and we got another program that you worked closely with the toys for military kids. How's that going for what you're planning for the rest of this year? Well, I think the way it's shaping up for the holiday party at the VA is likely due to our guidance from national. We probably will not hold similar party. But we do plan Tio. Provide those veterans with the gift bags that make that such a successful event for them every every year. And, of course, our monetary donation of about $5000, which helps those better and what they're Re integration efforts back into you know, society. So ah, kind of a party where we enjoy music and cookies and dancing. We hope t continue the gift bag and the monetary donation this year. Very good net Just when we have to take a short break. When we come back, we're gonna talk more.

"City and coming your way now and we're happy to welcome Peter Vessey to the program Peter how the hell are you doing and are you at managing and coping okay yeah I'm fine hello on the high risk category but I'm not not too worried about our lives pretty yet desolate and you know I'm not restricted to stay inside me my dog we call for walks in the water if you are not we hang out so you know it's all it's all good here yeah I'm gonna have one the stock market yeah I mean listen it's like nineteen twenty nine yeah yeah we were born and where we live she would die are definitely into that in that right now in that vote a vulnerable age groups yeah yeah I know so I mean it's you know it's for try not to follow it too closely I I've made how to move a little bit I'm not a black person there all you know when you reach our age you have to do something with your four oh one K. and you know you are you you know put it put it somewhere then it's that still doesn't get taxed so so now the imam quiet seven years so I've got to figure out you know what to do with this money before I lose it all you know everyone's going through that everyone in detail and the car is it'll all come back you will have but who knows when already yeah you know it would feed people tell me yeah yeah it'll come back in a few years yet yet but I might not be here you too well well I'm just saying you know I need I need to check my some short term but long term yeah well no I believe me I could identify and I totally I totally understand I just want to make sure that you have enough water and toilet paper at home yeah yeah we we will go well so you know we're we're good with water and actually going to stay in the public interest law as Carmelo Anthony would remind is isolation Zachary is is the key here do you think we're gonna have an NBA season at all any kind of resumption of what we we used to know as the N. B. A. you think they're gonna play anymore this season honoring everybody everybody listen to has a different active Fong you know how long she's going to take I returned today it's going to be the sit back and be back to normal we only know that China is on the way back already so yeah you know so if you if you listen to enough people get enough misinformation and lost you know I don't I don't all in all open open on the back of the sports were turned away what you want is for you know I I did learn one thing from nine eleven and you know about that was how the time when I was in the city you know I remember all the people you know with their cars to put flags on their cars and everybody's nice to each other and that that lasted about three weeks after you know so I'm hoping I'm hoping that it lasts a little longer this time with people being horrible well one of all the I'm helping mom do my part by not writing anymore well don't hold your breath yeah you know I have it first of all I mean with the two members of the the jazz and of course go bear and and Mitchell and then the four guys on the Brooklyn nets and Duran letting us know that day he had tested positive and then today even Wilson Chandler was told to stay out of his apartment complex lobby and all the common areas so yeah there's some insanity going on here to all of it a lot of insanity it was really because of his tattoos they didn't want a lot of people you know I I certainly certainly a lot of a lot of stuff going on if you can you know the players the players being being posting because of those different more than anybody else nobody is immune from this obviously sure I was I I shop in a place truths of fish place that was so helpful for me and I happened to go in there long ten days ago or so and that same day they found out that the shops had tested positive in that place I went by there today places close you know even though they disinfected and everyday he really hard out here in the if you're gonna walk at south Holden green port structure but yeah so nobody can use I mean you know players a player the human like anybody else they can affect at all although he does exactly what they're taking it off so you know he's got a he's got to stay flexible yeah I'm kind of enjoying myself as far as one thinks the you might get a kick out of this is that the yeah I'm going over all all since your photos over the years trying to get things in order and wall wall wall category that came came in to replace you with letters over the years which which you know to me you know but one of the biggest change for having you know it's going going on your own on the internet you're working on phones and tweeting your texting it'll ask you don't get the letters you know that we used to get you know sports writers and that ops no I found tremendous you know letters yeah I was saying to my a friend of mine that I now wish I had I wish I had a a little David stern and I find one I found one that he'd he'd sent me when my father died and it was so unbelievable you know everything said in it in the hole hello and he really took his time to write it wasn't just something knocked off and I plan to make a copy and send it to his children because it it certainly applies them to reflect on what he said about my father and me and then and then over matters that will Alan shore could send me a letter after I did a review of a few good men on Broadway I want to see it and I loved it and that day or the next day the next day I wrote a column about a few good men instead of instead of the NBA all set me a beautiful letter and he go there he will he not found that and I found one from Donald Trump your we sent me a letter he said he would be channel model mobile the policy that you know stuff like that what Lou Carnesecca yeah Danny Whalen yep Richie powers a couple from him chorale Syndergaard Greece you know Karim's mother she sent me a couple of Pat Riley's sister you sent me several so I mean it's it's it's it's really really interesting reading these letters and after all these years I'll try to do something with Kamal we're talking with Peter Vessey who without question made a difference your mind me when and and the the end there is a of the story a quick guide quick story I can relate when my father died in two thousand and three Fred will ponder sent me a condolence card hand written it was a card at an on all four sides of this card he had written a hand written a condolence his condolences why and the first time I ever met him he took out his wallet and of course nothing was imminent except a picture of him and his father and the advances from off of Fred will pond and and here I am as a metropolitan fan and he's not been a great owner and nobody really likes his son and it's not easy to do and I'm sure that he understands that I have a job to do and also I'm honest about talking about it with the kind of ownership that they have had in the real estate types that they really are and not running the New York metropolitans I mean I've done as much as anyone and may even refer to them as well Ponzi's isn't so right is so forth and so on but I can not exceed the wooden relating he was relating to you yeah all of his father he has lost his father in law normally what happens with the mothers to know anybody who dies as close to as an end to get a hand written no any Papa's city in on a call that meant that you could get a lot of stock in there I mean unlimited newspapers saying that no one letter regarding something that was written with someone's worth something like yeah I know a hundred thousand people feeling the same way right all the walls so I you know I I again on the tremendous loss H. that beautiful or my mother let's go they so yeah I mean it's Hey look you know let's forget about all the sports you know let's let's let's let's think about you know all our lives and our child and and they certainly go so too fast because I keep I I think I'm the first one that was the deal with the Congo with one that said that thank you lord of do you love the mayor bye bye thank you for those for those words for sure let me ask you about Leon rose and let me ask you about the Steve Stoute who's supposed to be brandy man to change you may have to change his own brand before you judge changes the brand of the New York knickerbockers give me your thoughts about the has Dolan done the right thing hiring Leon rose who knows everybody like you do with the N. B. A. N. or is certainly you're dead and my guess is you still could get in touch with just about anybody associated with the NBA for years not only even now but for many years so many years hello but do you think that Dolan may have done the right thing and hiring these two guys well I don't I don't know either believe it or not I mean I've never even heard that sound hello all right no it's not not a knock on in the Sherlock on me I was just not really going and and so you know when he when he was in that one and now said he was had some some title with the Knicks and was working on a new brand and then he comes out and you know hold something negative about the coach not coming back staff not coming back I mean it was so on call for you shows you shows though that what he was he he likes what he you know he has no idea what he should say and then they correct right correct okay so I don't even know if he will come out I don't understand no I'm just the one thank you the next want to change their brand I think the easiest way to do it with the world sounds neat that would be the way I would go but and then and then there's far as as far as locals goes it amazingly and all all the time that he was I think its first client last couple client was Rick Brunson okay and you know what and I used to talk all the time and and I mean I certainly will what whites and you know he's a part of our world expected in awhile but I never called them about anything and you know play the troops which I hope to do all the time but in this case like it's weird when the picture was shown of world I was shocked he was white some he was black so yeah I mean the young lad with Bonnie has helped a lot a lot of players you know from from the Philly area but local long time at a high school I think he had a bite at a high school and then he was the guy I was appalled when the next phone call in to clean along with you know for five of the gene that codes to recruit will Barton of loans was I believe was learning that whole and hold on the store the box holds over whatever you run and then you know when they when he struck out they knew they struck out the next when they met with him because he was such a brief brief encounter with quality what's telling me that he knew right away and again the following in paying attention to what they were saying and from what I understand with good reason because they weren't saying anything but and then one wall James Brolin are you there down to Cleveland Australia I'm not sure any Cleveland to try to get another each of you on the side with lebron.

"Doctor doctor with his son they help I'm Doug Stephan with the we spent the first few minutes of the program talking about this is a new drug Vessey bar that offers a lot of hope it would seem to a lot of people will be very curious to hear what Jack Stockwell says about it when when next we talk because he's been obviously a lot on on fish oils it says that although he does say the same thing and you do eating is more important eating this stuff rather than supplementing with if you get it the good stuff and he's it's very interesting about the you know there's some really good to know oil around but you got to make sure that the tuna oil has been checks as the mercury and that's one of the others all of these side things you got to think about when you're you can't just go down the room are down the hall **** nilly you gotta pay attention to all the car then it becomes a job for some people you know just knowing all this stuff again if you're a doctor you're supposed to know now but then when people are trying I consider myself to be pretty well educated when it comes to most things including my body in medicine and that sort of stuff and yet you know there's so much to be learned and so many people don't pay attention that when they're confronted with the choices you're talking about you know how do I live or die you want to add nine years to your life then get yourself on a Staten if you don't care I I guess that's it all becomes judgmental Anna manners speaking but it's yeah maybe in this next thing one of one of the things about fish oil does that you buy over the counter it does yeah DHEA in it we had a an axe raise the bad cholesterol and the secret is is EPA yes there were two are you look for it you wanna make a threes the six is in the nine and have the AJ and I'm in you know one of these and that's it and that is an over the counter Fisher but me and in the seat with the secret is just concentrated EPA and that's all it is yep all right next up the focus on E. cigarettes and the risk of chronic lung disease this is something that is this story's building and building and building the focus on vaping and what the hell you putting into your lungs if you're smoking cigarettes you're crazy this stuff may be just as crazy some of it and what I find crazy is that they're taking out their allowing some of them that are tobacco based if I'm not mistaken is that right to stand the market well it is that's what is happening but this this week is the latest word on the safety of E. cigarettes and as you very well put it it's been building and building but this is the latest out just this week American Journal of preventive medicine and just to recall that E. cigarettes they entered the market as an allegedly safe alternative to regular tobacco cigarettes which is shown and it was approved by the FDA well not these these are not this is not this kind of thing is not it through the FDA and some of the vaping seven been approved well it's as it's been awhile but but the FDA doesn't get this is non pharmaceutical so this is something that the FDA originally doesn't get involved in it cigarettes have been shown to increase a person's risk of cancer in various chronic lung conditions at but the news this week about E. cigarettes this is a study of a whopping more than thirty two thousand adults huge study this is a significant link between E. cigarette use an increased risk of developing chronic lung disease just like cigarettes regular cigarettes the risk is even higher if one also uses conventional cigarettes so unless you want to do yourself in AP no you just want to try to avoid this vaping unless you're sure you're using it to get off cigarettes and you're gonna get off that it might be better ways of getting off absolutely I will talk about it yeah all right we'll get to that in the connection between vaping and depression there's no reason in the world and far as I can see anybody with any common sense would wanna be baby anything twenty eight past here are good day health tis the season to be jolly it's also the.

My problem was had so many amateur directors everybody around the house was telling me how to read my lines including birdie Marjorie was busy rehearsing a play for the following week. She wasn't too busy to put her two cents worth. Start here on page twelve hunky. Remember off my Shapur with an air. My mantle, I toss to Alexi..

"We're. What the kid wants to imagine? Really, none of my business. Soups tea. Okay for merit has. Oh, some agency shows for Nick. So these are making a second appearance in this round of FM agents of shield alias twenty four. Oh boy. Okay. We'll kill agents field for sure. See because they still have injuries. Someone has to. I don't understand like even even the families of people that work on that show or like we've had enough. And then twenty four or alias. Well. Okay. So I already ready married Elliot's but between twenty four and alias being being married to Jack Bauer or fucking Jack Bauer would both be incredibly anxiety provoking. Very true. So yeah, I mean fuck Elliot's because of the costumes and wigs and stuff a lot of potential there. And I guess Mary Jack Bauer because he's just going to be gone all the time. Almost getting code. So I'll just be the paychecks. And I'm fine. Sarah from Mira. You have cop shows through the ages law and order kill street blues and homicide. Homicide. I thought this is going to be said she then comes on the side. I gotta kill hillstreet. Sorry. It just it just hasn't held up. Well, so it's down to law and order and home aside based on how much time I have spent in front of law and order, basically married to it in some way. So with that. And then yeah, I'm find fucking homicide. Attract people. Yes. Yes. Also much days era. With like to know what you're going to do with the following TV cartoons. Oh, yeah. Kathy falls. Doc horsemen loan high. Okay. Gravity falls bodak clone. Hi, this is not actually might not be that hard. I think you have to kill gravity falls. Because of the kid angle. There's really no other thing to do with them. And you definitely don't want to be married to anybody beau Jack horsemen because boy already have enough of my own problems that really need to carry on my back to so kill kill gravity falls. Which means we're going to have to fuck bow Jack or Ismael going to be heroin in its own right and will leave a scar. But I don't think it's going to be nearly as bad as a lifetime with some of the characters on bodak horsemen, which means therefore we are going to marry clone high which is interesting because and even if your partner dies, there's probably a backup somewhere. So you're kinda like eight right? But then that brings up nature versus nurture. Is it really the same person? You know? Sink. It is as the roof raise it spot rock cities. But. Giovanni E N E N N A. Okay. Four tara. The faces of Julie Bowen, we'll always gets Julie Bowen, heavy entries. Carol Vessey from Ed Denise Bauer from Boston legal Sarah shepherd from lost. I'm gonna kill Carol because that's the one I know the most I watched the most of ED's probably of all of those shows, and she was a real as Kim read put it at the time rag and. That was where the Julie Bowen hates began. In fact, so I guess that means I'm going to. I mean, it's really a toss up with these other two I suppose I'll I'll I'll marry Sarah shepherd just to to fuck with Jack Sheppard. To give him one more reason to be sad and get a dump tattoo and then fuck the one from Boston Ligo. Denise. All right. Here we go Nick also Vanni TV transportation, your options are the Pacific Princess AK the love boat super train and the Partridge family bus. God could someone explain to me super train?
