"Today. Against Major League Baseball over the moving of the All Star game from Atlanta to Colorado. I've referred to it as a theft before, and I believe this lawsuit uses that same language. I have read the lawsuit document itself called The Called The Complaint because I'm intrigued is Try a lawyer myself for Last 37 years. I'm intrigued by the legal theory on a moral level is, you know we've had this conversation before This lawsuit was filed on a moral level. I think this is clearly a theft. This is a theft from the good people of Atlanta and Polish and Hancock were accomplices on a moral level. The question is now can this be converted to a legal cause of action? So We're going to be diving into that with Mr Ortiz, who is again President of Job Creators Network, and then after we have that conversation, I want to get back to this very serious allegation that's been made. We'll get back to the Tae Andersen story, But let me go first to the V A T line. Okay. Thank you. Shannon. For that heads up, Elaine, now welcome to the Dan Caplis show. Hey, Dan, How are you? I am great, Thank you and apologize that I don't have a proper introduction in place. I had intended to talk to Mr Ortiz. But we're grateful to have you with us. So let's just start with your role in job Creators Network and then we'll dive into the lawsuit. Sure, I'm the chief communications officer for the job Creators Network and we're in national small business advocacy organization. So we fight for what I what we call Main Street small businesses, and that's exactly what we're doing in this lawsuit. Yeah, and I have talked with our audience before And I think there is widespread agreement that on a moral level, the thistles, the theft, the taking of the All Star game from the good people of Atlanta. Bringing it to Colorado on the false pretense of this Georgia voting rights law. Timmy on a moral level is a theft. But how do you convert that into a viable legal claim against MLB? Yeah, So, so we're obviously we think it's sad that it's come down to this that we've had to file this lawsuit. We certainly tried to have for the last two months conversation. With Commissioner Man Fred. We sent letters to him. We took out full page ads in The New York Times. We put a billboard in Times Square right near his office building on D simply there was no response from Major League baseball. And so we're filing this lawsuit and and now he has no choice, but it's not only listen to us, but he's going to have to be accountable to the businesses of Atlanta because they've been damaged by this decision. On them. We're suing the Major League Baseball and the Players association to right this wrong and demand that they immediately bring the game back to Atlanta or establish a relief fund for all small businesses that been hurt in the amount of $100 million, which is the estimated amount of lost economic activity as a result of this egregious decision. Oh, yeah, And it certainly was that I mean, it was wrong again, I think on every moral level in terms of the legal claim itself from having read the lawsuit that was filed It appears that job creators network is claiming, and it's very intriguing to me. I haven't researched it independently, but claiming that Major league Baseball in the individual teams are state actors because they receive state Financial support and therefore suing them under federal civil rights and similar claims the same way that somebody might sue, for example, law enforcement and so it's. It's a very interesting legal theory, and I'm anxious to see how it plays out. Yeah, I mean, unfortunately, Commissioner Manfred believes that he knows better than the elected officials of Georgia about what the laws in Georgia should be. He didn't like the voter Integrity Act that Georgia legally past when we find in the law by the governor governor, So he decided to punish the Georgia in Georgia business owners by moving the All Star Game out of Atlanta to Denver and this decision much like what you said, basically violated the constitutional rights of Job Creators network and its members in Georgia but also every citizen in the state of Georgia. And unlike private businesses, Hugh mentioned since MLB received billions of dollars from state and local governments. It does make them a state actor, and so they don't have the right to dictate what laws should be in any state. They don't ever right. You know, just like, for instance, the National Park Ranger doesn't have the right to decide who comes into the park, based on their skin color and will be can't decide that they don't want to play the game because they don't like the politics of the state. Yeah, they don't have that. Right. Gonna be fascinating to see how the court rules on this state actor issue. I mean, I get your point. They take all of this public money and and so it'll be interesting to see it. Play out. Do you have a timetable in mind? When when you expect the court tacked on this Well, we've just found the lawsuit last night. So obviously it's making its way through and and there's a process for that as well, Um, you know, but we're continuing to fight on. We'll continue to carry this message. We've been out there, you know, in the media talking about this for the last two months, um, you know, trying to get a smudge supported possible when we continue to have people. Extremely supportive on both sides of the aisle. I mean, the reality is 85% of Americans support voter I d laws on And so, you know, Commissioner Manfred Wade into politics, which you know there's there's no way to understand what was going through his mind when he decided this is a great thing to do for America's favorite sport. Baseball. Let's make it political when all they were simply asking, you know, Essentially they were expanding the voter laws. The voter opportunities is what the Washington Post found. But they did require voter ID. And there's nothing wrong with that. Because you know why Major League Baseball requires ideas. When you go to the box office to get your ticket across the entire country, Every single franchise requires you to have an I D to get your tickets and the reason why says they want to make sure that the right person is picking up the tickets. No, that That's right. The only type of voting they're trying to limit is illegal voting. And so let me end with this question. If I may, and that is, you know we have brainstormed done air here with our wonderful listeners across the state has some type of peaceful, legal creative actions surrounding the All Star game just to try to let the rest of the country know that. Hey, it's not like all of Colorado is good with this. We see it for what it is. It's It's wrong and a moral level. It's a theft. So it is job creators Network. Where have you heard of anybody else? Who's planning any kind of creative, peaceful public actions surrounding our All Star game here? You know, I'm not aware of any of the activities in Colorado. I mean, I think if if we prevail because the reality is and I'll be moved this game in four days, we believe they can move it back just as expeditiously because the city of Atlanta the businesses of Atlanta, they spent the last 21 months Preparing for this game, so they're probably more ready than Denver is, believe it or not, But MLB is it will be to blame for any losses to Denver. You know they violated the civil rights. On Separate apart from the lawsuit issue. I think just on the right and wrong level, Colorado should not have accepted the game, and there's no doubt in my mind that let's say this was happening because of some political issue raised by the right. There's no way in the world, Jared Polish and Michael Hancock would be accepting the game. It's a purely political play by them. And and I think that's very sad, but I am doing my very small part. It's gonna break my heart. But I will not be at the game. We're season ticket holders, so we we would have tickets, but but I myself am not going to go so That means nothing to anybody except me. But I thought I'd virtue signal and get it out there. But, hey, appreciate all you're doing appreciate your time on the show today, and we'll see where the court goes. Thanks for having me. Thanks, Elaine. You take care. By that selling Parker, President, Job Creators Network Foundation chief communications officer at the job Creators network. So if you have thoughts and that I'd still love to brainstorm, you know Possible creative type of actions surrounding the game. It's Zob Vesely..

"That you're only fast. As your slowest person. And so the military does a great job that teaching people how to shoot, move and communicate together as a team, and then you go to combat you fight bleeding, die together. And you come to rely on each other so much that the fear of letting You know, your brother or sisters down in combat trumps everything, even death. And so that's why we had these guys in combat. Like at a guy from Haiti. It makes ST Jean He got shot in the head. Two days later, he was back on the battlefield wrapped up like a mummy, and I asked him Why is that? Well, because you guys were going out there. I can't let you go out there. I can't let you down, and I think it's that I think it's when you're willing to love somebody and care about somebody. And that feeling is more important than death. I mean, that that zit tell you something, right? Love of a brother, Sean Parnell, everybody, Sean. Thank you so much for coming on today and sharing that it really helps people to get a perspective on things. Thank you. My brother simplified. All right. Simplified, Jesse, take care. He's right about how close you get. It is amazing, but I mean, it's also the time you spent together and the time you spend together in misery, absolute misery that there is nothing else You know, there's no escape. It's us here. It's sucks. You don't have any other choice and it does it. It drives it home for you. And it is He brought up No. How young they are. That part is always bothered me. That I understand. That's the history of the world, right? That's the that's the history of the world is young men. 17 18 1920 year old men going off fighting and dying for their country. That's the history where I understand that completely. What? What we have here is not unique. But it's also I've always thought it was tragic. Maybe that look, honestly, Maybe part of that is because I I have such a blessed life. You know, You got family pick up truck, even though it has a busted sun roof. Did I get food? Things like that? And you think about the fact they'll never have those things that gave up so many years. So many the that part of it has always been sad for me, but Important. We honor him, isn't it? So it Zob Vesely this I've said it several times. It's been a heavy your day than normal today. It's going to be like that throughout most of the day. You know, we prefer light and fun and funny. We'll get back to that every other day of the year. Today, we honor the heroes. Not done yet. Hang up your gear can cost you your life. Or your gear can save your life. That's just the truth of it. And Look, dear. It doesn't just apply to people in the military. It doesn't just apply to those super ninjas soldiers we have on the show that drop out of planes overseas. Do you carry a weapon? That's what they want you to believe it's just the distraction. Yeah. To distraction. That's it. Russia's state is not even the craziest thing that's being alleged. Have you? Are you guys familiar with the Are you familiar with the the the futuristic Nazi coin multiverse thing going on right now? I've heard about this for a while. Yeah, of course you are. But, you know, I'm very familiar with it. Yeah. All right. So there's a guy whose name is Diego. Uh, the obvious Who in 2018 says he discovered a coin. That contains Nazi symbolism. It Zob Vesely kind of busted but you could see the Nazi cross on there. You see a swastika. The eagle and which, what's crazy about this? Is the coin also is is dated 2039. So it's a Nazi coin from the future. And then, of course, then it turns into a a multi or parallel universe, of course, and that's why they found this coin down there in South America, and we're putting. You know the doing the math here and it looks like The only our comms razor Ramon explanation is that there's an alternative universe in the future where the Nazis won. So it's literally makes a documentary out of man and high castle. Right? Because, honor, it's got the What is it? The German? What? Bernice is an eagle. Yeah, like holding a Nazi the swastika and then it has it in what is it is in Spanish. It says New Germany on it. The translations New Germany. Yes, so in in in it, it says the Web a Ella Salmaniya, which translates to New Germany. So that we go. That's all the proof you need, right? Obvious. Obviously, obviously parallel universe and by the way, the coin word stamp what the date is really hard to read. "With Steve. Ringo. Thank you so much for joining our show today. We're glad that you're with us, and hopefully this weather will kind of calm down here soon. We definitely have rain. Coming our way in the beginning of the week to will be We went as well. I wonder where we are for right numbers right now. Are we up? I guess heard at the beginning middle of the week. I think we're down just a little bit. From an average standpoint, so it'll be pretty interest. It'll be interesting. Oh, my gosh. Well, all I can tell you is landscape prices are way up here. Just mentioning lumber a few minutes ago. I just can't believe this year how expensive everything is. Just crazy. Yeah, It's definitely scary. And I think it zob Vesely scary for people that are getting close to retirement or already in retirement. Um, I mean, you take a look at when they were actually needing to borrow money in the eighties, interest rates were super high. Now that they're retired. Interest rates are at an all time low, So it's like you can't catch a break, You know, but fortune, but back in the day also interest rates on Houses were way up there to exactly remember that when they were loaning, right, they had to take out a loan there to pay enough 10 12 14 16% sure CDs were paying 14 15%, but at that point in time, people were Having a You know, buy mortgages? Yeah, it was so funny. Is that my grandfather? When Jimmy Carter was running for president, I'll never forget. I was up there in Tennessee and Out in the middle of nowhere, and we were sitting in his front room and it was really cute room and he goes Just remember this those pearly white teeth. He's gonna win because that peanut farmer and I'll just like as long as I live just the way he said it and he was he smoked a pipe and he just stood in the middle of the room. Very regal. And my dad, his stature. He he must probably like 5758. I was taller than my father, but his father Was 66. So hear this tall gentleman 66 with a pipe and just commenting about Jimmy Carter's teeth and he goes, he gets well. You know, Kathy, just remember. Just remember, this is the time in history that he was so cute as we have a peanut farmer, But you know what? I think we're going to see good things, But I guess you know, like I was like, Wow, Interesting. That goes back a long ways. Certainly does. That's when interest rates were crazy ever since, But my dad made a lot of money in real estate back then, even though interest rates were, you know, just crazy and had a lot of properties down in South Florida, and he did pretty well on that end. You know it also, you know rents were running a property way back then was pretty expensive. Cause nobody could qualify for a mortgage back then was pretty interesting. I can tell you. I think the real estate market is going to come here to a complete halt about the summertime. Just if you take a look at the four parents programs unless the current administration extends that I know there's a lot of people that are in default, and the banks are really looking forward to foreclosing on those properties because they want to get it off their books Right now. It's just a dead asset in there upside down. Yes, definitely going to be an experience for some people. I mean for our clients. Obviously, they're busy booking vacations. They're just excited pick up where they left off in 2019. Completely skipped through 2020 and just hopefully get to the point where people are just forget 2020. It's done. It's over. Good. Perfect. No, but I agree with you. I mean, you know all of our clients that have been coming in. They've been taking withdrawals, and I think you know Requesting money, and I think a lot of people have now are very excited about going to the ball parks. I mean, we saw the CDC this past week say that you know if you're going to be indoors and you're vaccinated, and if you're outdoors, you know, they don't think you need to wear a mask anymore. I think that's going to really open things up now for America. It's about time. Well, I think we've been seeing that in the Dallas Fort Worth area anyway. You know a lot of people. Everybody's the numbers for people that are backstage in this area are a lot higher than other parts of the country. So I think it's a really good thing and that people want to get out in about They want to have fun. It's about time. Yeah, it's time for them to spend that play check. I'd love it. Hey, Luke, Bryan, your guy he's excited about going back on tour in July. I was just saying that so all of the time to get back in the saddle for a lot of these musicians and entertainers, for sure. My gosh, I mean, talk about they haven't had any income coming in either. It's going to be interesting to see what happens this summer, though I know here are in Dallas. Ah, lot of the companies that have their people working from home. They're still allowing that to occur, and they're finding that they really probably don't need as much square footage is They once thought that they did, so I think we're going to see residential and commercial real estate. Take another hit, even though it's hard to believe with 20 offers going in on a house right now, But I always say what whenever you have an all time high. We know what follows. That is an all time low, So I just feel like here we go again soon. Yeah, We've seen a handful of clients and also listeners from the show that are consolidating their real estate investments or reducing lutely the amount of money that they haven't real estate because They're not wanting to have any downside exposure. They want to mitigate that risk. The markets run up great. It's time to sell a portion dependent on their age and what their goals and objectives are and for a lot of them to be about. Oh, Place money into a strategy that gives you a guaranteed lifetime income stream. It makes him feel pretty good at the end of the day, knowing that that paycheck will always be there because previously when they had the rental income coming in whether it was commercial.

I know you've got Two prior But during the pandemic in the craziness, what's it like to open another restaurant? Well, it's certainly easier now that we have outdoor dining. It was virtually impossible. You know Without that, Giordani I think you know there's no I have some other restaurants and if they've started re opening, there's certainly more trepidation now than before, even even last year when we were allowed to be opened and then closed again. Think this time it's been certainly more severe. The the the emotional damage from the last out of the virus has been been difficult, really, because it seemed like there was a pretty big jump a desire for people to get out. You're finding that people are still little for lack of a better attorney. Gun shy Yeah, I think so. I mean, I think that it was it. Zob Vesely depends on which are the neighborhood you read. But I definitely think this time I feel it is certainly people are more more cautious than been before. But I do agree with you on people do want to get out. Oh, yeah. There's you know, there's a constant drumbeat, you know, in the media about you know the dangers. You know, you don't really hear the opposite on sleepers was really no upside in expressing the officer Bill, you said it. I mean, it's frustrating The kind of fearmongering that goes on I get it. We need to be very careful. I am I am with my family. I stay home. Where masks if I have to have any interaction, and I recommend everybody doing the same and to be a safest possible What toe live based on fear is always a weird notion to me. Yes, it is a very challenging time and unique experience. Once a restaurant operators um the lunar you new New Year is, you know the biggest Holiday for our Chinese and Chinese American communities, So we still want to celebrate that. "All in one Go back to our own breadwinner bowl filling in for rush on the EI Be network. So ask yourself this question. What is the broader reason for this trial that we're watching? Take place. We've already established that it Zob Vesely intended to stop President Trump. From running for reelection in 2024. But what's the broader mission here? Because if we could project ourselves two weeks into the future, let's say And what's Let's pretend the worst happens. Let's pretend President Trump was convicted and blocked from running for the presidency again. What's the longer game playing out here with this trial, and that's what you have to kind of strip away toe to get an idea because I do not believe he's going to be convicted. I do not believe he's gonna be blocked from from running for the presidency. But assume for a moment that what the what you're seeing play out here in the Senate is it comes to pass. What's the longer game longer game is this and I'll flush it out for you in just a few moments. Longer game is To stop you and you and you and you from resisting the change that is coming to the country. What's the old Chinese proverb that Ram Emanuel used once upon a time? In crisis. There's opportunity. You never let a good crisis go to waste. You know, it's it's important, understand what it is that's going on here. I've been reading the stoics all this new year that we've just come into. You know the stoics that the people who who lived in the ancient times and and and stated things about government and governance and behavior in public behavior. Marcus Aurelius was one of these and he's got a great quote. It's time you realized that you have something in you more powerful and miraculous. Then the things that affect you and make you dance like a puppet. This impeachment move, as with many of the moves with the executive orders are designed to make you dance like a puppet. To dance to the tune of the Piper, calling it from Washington, D. C. And in just a couple of moments, I'm gonna tell you what the longer game is here. It's a very important thing to understand as you watch what happens in these coming days, weeks and months. But first we go out to Roseanne, who is in Holtsville, New York, out on Long Island or resent Welcome to the program. It says here that you were at the rally that the president put together there for January, the sixth what happened in terms of police protection, security and that sort of stuff. All right? Yes, I was at the rally, and I explained to the to the producer there that I also attended the mortal life rallies, many of them so I'm aware of the D C and how they set up for a rally of this size. And first thing that we noticed, arriving from a bus Long island that there were hardly any police at all. Unlike the mortal life rally there on every corner there everywhere you can't miss them. The s direction with this that help people there were there were minimal. I thought, two policemen and a plainclothesmen walking down from I think with New York Avenue to your lips. And I saw couple up on the roof by the Washington Monument. And that was about it until we walked through the mall, the West side to the capital. We saw a couple of Capitol police on the top levels. It was it was, they were nowhere to be found. And it was very odd. It was very strange and what bothered me and a lot of the people that went Is that the police the Capitol police, the people in charge of the police knew that there were violent actors going to be there coming out reports. Sure, Bailey that they knew these people would bombs with weapons will going to infiltrate the rally We never would notified, But yet the mayor of DC Merial thousands sent out a tweet on everyone's phone. At four in the afternoon of a curfew when she should have tweeted out in the morning when we got off the bus is that look it. We have reports of violent actors. Be careful whatever. To give us some notifications. Sure we would not notified it was it was Very upsetting. Well, let me let me just say this. And I appreciate that called Roseanne and what you're saying comports with a lot of what? I've heard sitting here in Charlotte talking to people who were there at the rally who were not part of the riot or were not part of what it was. That would go down later in the day, And so we have a tale of two realities going on here. Okay? The first reality is the impeachment effort to try to blame this on the president. The second reality is the failings in the security that took place there at the Capitol, and it's easy to point this back and say to the president, the president of this, the president did that all that sort of stuff. But he's not responsible for ground level base level security there at the Capitol and that that's just not the case. A speaker Pelosi and and majority leader then Mitch McConnell, They have much more to say about security and the security profile. At the Capitol, much more so than the president the president can call in for you can recommend that the National Guard going for backup and that sort of stuff. But the reality is this is this is about being controlled at the Capitol. And this is why this impeachment is so unfortunate. And I appreciate that call. Resent. This is why the impeachment so unfortunate, because rather than get down to the facts of what it was, it happened and what failed on that day. We've gone to impeachment. We haven't done a single solitary hearing yet into the the sergeant at arms into the Capitol police into the National Guard into the D C. Metro cops. We don't know what that security profile was. In fact, we don't even know what the final finding For the federal Bureau of Investigation was as a result of this. This is all still TBD out there in the ether. Here we are a month later, and we don't know the full tic tac off all the elements short. We know what the rioters did. We watched what they did. It was shocking. But have we heard the police calls on the radio? Have we heard the stuff that was being called out by dispatch or by any of the leadership in the in the security environment? We have not heard that. And that's why you know, many people want to see a 9 11 style commission to investigate this, But you should put the should put the card after the horse, not the other way around the impeachment is putting the cart before the horse. And it leads me to the broader point. I wanted to race, which is why is this happening? This is happening in an effort a coordinated effort to blunt Any resistance, and I'm not saying resistance of a kinetic nature where people go out and they trash property, and they do things like that they need to minimize any resistance that may manifest itself. From Maga Nation from the Trump supporters out there the 74 million people, because right now, here's what we've got. We've got a president of the United States in Joe Biden, who is not delivering the goods. It's true. He's not delivering the goods. You continue to have a failed rollout of the vaccine. You continue toe have schools not fully opening. We're just now barely getting the conversation completed with Chicago teachers unions. Get back to business. Well, you know, the Jen Psaki and a press conference yesterday said we can count. We can count success as being Ah School opened 50% 1 Day a week. People are not happy with the performance of this new president. He had 100 days toe work The magic and all he's done is sign a bunch of executive orders undoing things that the president President Trump did. And in addition, killed thousands of jobs at the Keystone XL pipeline is creating absolute catastrophe at the borders by not enforcing of the.

"Fairgrounds free admission Friday through Sunday to get a head start on your home renovations for the spring. All right. Three. Super Bowl, of course, was last Sunday. There was all sorts of controversy because there was a delay in getting the TV ratings out and Nielsen took a took a lot of criticism for it. But the numbers are, in fact out and I don't want to overstate this because a lot of people watch the game, but Compared to other years. The numbers are not good. The numbers came in. And what they say is that 96.4 million people watched the Super Bowl that includes the people that watched it on CBS around 91 million and the people who streamed it, which was another like 5.5 million, but all in all done 96.4 million people. Now that Zob Vesely a ton of people, but you have to compare it last year again, all in all done TV and streaming. Last year. Kansas City versus San Francisco 102 million people watched it, so it's it's down around 8% from last year. The biggest Super Bowl number was in 2015. That's when the Patriots played the Seahawks and back then that the number was 114 million. So in the space of five or six years that the viewership has gone from 114 million to 96 million, roughly again that that's a drop of 18 million. Viewers and that does include TV, and it does include Streaming s O down 8% from last year, the number People who watch the game again to give you some perspective. This is the lowest number of people watching the game since 2007. When Indianapolis played Chicago. That was a 93.1 million. And this was like 96.4 million, and, of course streaming is a much bigger deal now. Then it was back in 2007. So you got to go back to 2007 to have numbers that were anywhere near is low is what this was 8% from last year. Down dramatically from the high of five years ago. Now I get it. You're talking about 96.4 million people, So that's a lot of people that ended up watching it. But from the perspective of the NFL, the numbers are not moving in the right direction. Our number 85561616 20, That's the AC unit mortgage talk and text line. So what happened here? Why? Why were the numbers off now Ratings were down in the NFL all year. As a general, you can point to certain game here there it was high, but it's a general rule ratings were down. I think part of it was obviously the pandemic. Part of it was the no fans in the stands, and I think probably affected interest to an extent in some areas. S so you've got a unique set of circumstances and part of it, Woz. As far as the matchup goes, you did not have dream teams. I mean, you've got Kansas City and you've got you know Tampa Bay. You've got the compelling story about Tom Brady. But you know, a lot of people love Tom Brady. A lot of people hate Tom Brady. But you don't have big cities. Um You've got a game that I don't know what the interest was beyond with. The quarterbacks were and you've got a weird year. 85561616 20. That's the AC unit mortgage talking text line. Is this a one year blip? Or is this part of the long term trend that the NFL needs to be worried about? 85561616 20, I'll tell you where I come down on this. We'll discuss in just a moment. Or.

But it isn't because we have this beautiful destination to promote. Yeah. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers they'll face off against the Kansas City Chiefs for that championship Sunday. E would love a brief window in love with that I would love a brief window in life where that is not an issue that is being thrown in my face and at the first sign of any politics. I'm out the door, You know, Um, very interesting. Um, I wonder what kind of honest they're good. They're gonna have just say, you know, 20,000. I think it's what they're allowing. Last report. I saw 30,000 okay. Like what? They were doing it DK our stadium here show automatically. That gives it a feel of something that is just not Quite official that It doesn't feel like you're you're regular Super Bowl because, um You're not gonna have all the all the whole year doesn't feel like an official year this past year. It doesn't feel it's like a year that didn't count. The football season is almost felt like a season. That doesn't really can't any of the sports season have felt like a season. That doesn't really count more than they do or not. So I don't know. I wonder what kind of audience they're gonna have. Are you excited to watch it? No, I'd never get excited about Super Bowl. Never been getting everything. I mean, watching this. Watch it. It's more about get together with friends Suspect a goal is about getting together with people and my neighbor and bites me over like he has the past couple of years. I hope he's listening right now. Because I want to come, you know, Drink your beer and eat your food is just the neighborhood that's been holed up inside the house. No, no, no. God, no. A lot of people don't know that I don't care about the weak the weekends doing the halftime show. I care nothing about the weekend. You don't like this. I think I kind of dig it, man. I kind of like I like it. Yeah. This is a weekend. This is the weekend right here is like listen. First of all, it's Zob Vesely, a younger demographic. Obviously it's 1984 right now. Cigarette definitely got the sound of the eighties. But he's a new artist man. He kind of got subbed at the Grammys to this past year. You've got a lot of nominations, but kind of got kind of got snub. I'll be honest with you, man. I don't know how. I don't know how anybody can play in the Super Bowl halftime show that does not include Shakira and J. Lo. That's all you need. That's all you need Hips. Moving and the hips don't lie that I'm sure.

"We Take the access tissue, usually at the mid or lower portion of the abdomen. And even if it's a one sided reconstruction, we still take an equal amount of tissue on both sides of the abdomen so that the patient gets a good contour. So a lot of folks look at it favorably. From not only the perspective of getting a breast reconstruction, but they also look at it as improving the contour their abdomen and are there certain types of patients who are undergoing therapy for breast cancer who might be a better candidate for That type of reconstruction with the deep flat versus an implant, for example, so patients that have, um no plans for radiation immediately after the mastectomy. Are are usually good candidates for using their own tissue. We try not to transfer the tissue or do an autologous flap. At the time of mastectomy. If we know that they're going to get radiation afterwards because the radiation can have ill effects on the reconstruction. In terms of other things that we consider if the patient is very large breasted. We still don't have great success with Implant based reconstruction due to the limitations of the implants that are available, and so oftentimes we steer those patients to autologous reconstruction as well. And if they have tissue, for instance, in their belly despair Again. They oftentimes don't mind having it harvested and is the recovery from that sort of reconstruction with their own tissue. Is it a more difficult recovery? I mean, I'm assuming they're more scars, of course, because they have the abdominal scar. But do patients tend to recover as well as with an implanted as quickly or is it a little bit of a longer recovery? In general. We tell patients that there's a lot more work up front for them versus an implant based reconstruction because they do have to heal what we call the donor site or the site that we harvest the tissue from And so we usually impose some form of restrictions for approximately six weeks after we harvest, for instance, from the abdominal donor site. Those restrictions include lifting restrictions. Usually in the 10 to £15 range. In addition, we don't want them sleeping on their on their breasts. When it when it's all said and done. It might mean that for another two or three weeks, they have more restrictions than an implant based reconstruction. But Overall, they don't need any, um significant recovery afterwards because most the reconstruction is completed at the time of that initial procedure versus Implant based reconstruction, where it may need to be staged, and Dr Adamson win it when the implant based Reconstructionist stage What's usually the timeline? You had mentioned the tissue expanders to ultimately the implant it Zob Vesely a longer timeline than Dr Lo Giudice said, alluded to for the flap reconstruction. So what is that timeline, usually for women? So usually we will exchange the expander for the implant after about 3 to 4 months, But if the patient is having chemotherapy and definitely if they're having radiation therapy, then we wait to exchange to the permanent implant until after that treatment is complete. And the skin has recovered. And finally in our last couple minutes, Dr Dorian is it Do people have to have for example, if they decide that they just want to have their breast cancer surgery and not have any reconstruction at the same time. Is that an option? Can they come back at a later date and have the reconstruction or you'd do typically try to recommend it in a close Interval of time from when they have their breast cancer surgery. It certainly is an option how to reconstruction at any time. So what we call it is immediate or delayed reconstruction. So some woman will opt to have the reconstructive process started at the time of their mastectomy, which is called an immediate reconstruction, even though they're often several operations still to follow in the following months. Delayed reconstruction is when a woman chooses not have reconstruction up front or sometimes their oncologist recommends not every construction in front because they may have an aggressive cancer, such as something called inflammatory breast cancer, in which case they can come back year two years later and have the reconstruction. And can they have the imp imp in plant based or the tissue reconstruction? Like Dr Adamson and duck shirt the Judas mentioned or their one over the other? That's a good question. So if you've had a mastectomy and then been treated with radiation afterwards, it's not possible to re expand your skin and haven't implant alone Reconstruction. So in that case, you would be requiring an autologous or using some form of your own tissue. Okay, Great. Well, thank you all so much for everything you do for our patients at M C W and join us shortly for an excitement. New.

"Were explaining the basic differences between a car dealership and the manufacturing company, you know that the automaker Yeah, the automakers Ford and your Ford dealership, you know? They built the cars. You bought him and you sold him to people. I like to say they retail them to us as dealers, and then we figure out a way to get out of it. Well, the line they killed me was Suppose you were. You were having some trouble with people who had a car. Maybe it was out of warranty and they were hot it you thinking, you know, you sold him the car. You had to explain that you said we didn't have a place in the back where we built those cars. Now we talked and you know, they have a little problem. We won't you do it by back with him. Diggers don't do buybacks, Factories do buybacks. They built it. They have to stand behind it. They honor the warranty. In too many times, people. Would lump us together as one, you know, because I got 1/4 sign in front of my property doesn't mean I own any part of Ford. I don't nor does it mean they own any small or large piece of my dealership. They don't were to individual businesses doing business with each other. And that's that, And that's why I wrote the article to point that out, because sometimes people get angry with their dealer, and they should just be angry with the manufacturer because you don't build cars and trucks in your back lot. No, never did. Never did. Let's talk to M d in Deer Park, Texas, MD. Welcome. What can I do for you? Hey, Jerry. Thanks for taking my call. Sure. Fucking December, the 28. We bought a 2020 Toyota. You said. That's the best time to shop. And it was good shopping, but ever other vehicle we buy. We Put one in her name. And the next one will be in my name. My wife get the stuff I sent beside her. She 79 I'm 80 Have we're hearing AIDS. Have those mask on can hardly hear. Anyways, the Financial man. He was trying to explain these things. Instead of putting a price down, he put things to four different categories of things we could buy so much a month. Well, we finally got through with that. And they thought he said he had had put LoJack on there. In order to, uh In order to get the 0% financing. And also that we're home. We had a chip we put in the computer and told everything about it, they added. The prepaid maintenance extended warranty, glass protection, tire and wheel LoJack. We called and they were able to get the pre paid maintenance and extended warranty taken off and we're able to later paid cash. Outside of that. We're the same extended warranty very cheap. But they said the glass protection is G s. She s F s windshield. $1500 that that's accessory and can't be taken off. And the LoJack is 24 98. And I'm like I said, I thought maybe miss taken, but I thought he said that you had to have it in order to get the financing Well, things MD that a pre installed on these cars and The G E F GS F stands for Gulf States. I forget what it is. But Gulf States is the distributor that Sends the cars to the dealers. Okay. In other words, they their middleman. So Toyota sells. They've got five. Distributors in the country. They sell cars directly to them. Then the distributors sell cars to the dealers. It's a very odd It's very odd system versus everybody else, but it's worked for, you know, 40 years, so nobody's ever changed it. But Here's the thing. When when cars come into the port. They're around Houston. Lot of Toyota's come in their Gulf states adds things to them before the dealer gets him, so the dealer's got paid for it. Now. What if the dealer says, No, I don't want any. Don't want it does add on to put on our cars. I'll do that. But guess what. They will get the allocation. Then s O. They have to play the game. And from what I understand from having distributors in other parts of the country where the show airs. It's the same everywhere. So you know things like an extended warranty and and that sort of stuff certainly is optional. And if you end up with that stuff, and you want to cancel his cancel a ble, But if it's something that the dealer had to pay for You can pass that on to you. And you know, the other side of the deal to MD is most of stuff that Gulf states and the other distributors at ad aren't bad things to have. It's just the thought that there's cram it down your throat. That's what I ate, but the dealers have to play the game, but they don't get the cars. Yeah, evidently that the glass protection, it said it included. Rate program, and evidently some of this Safety stuff. Where you you know, turn keep you from turn Lane lane departure and all that some of that in the windshield are it goes through the windshield. Sometimes you can't see it. Other cars you can Subaru puts their system right up. It's top of the glass. So it's got to. It's got to be able to see through the glass. And so if you run into I broke windshield or something like that, that would cover you for that. I think that's pretty good protection because that can deck and run into some money. But, you know, like, I wish I had a magic answer for you on the other stuff. I'm glad that you had the insight. To cancel what you didn't want on Bob Vesely. You've listened here where I've talked about how extended warranties or are negotiable. So you did. You did a good job. They're empty and I'm Appreciate your call very much. And thanks for for listening. Jeff, Riverside, California Welcome. Morning, Jerry. How are you? Good man. What's on your mind? I've been looking at the smaller issue these I don't need a big tank like a giant suburban or anything. And I noticed that Jaguar has some really nice looking vehicles. I was looking at Toyota Not as a comparison, but as a different type of vehicle to purchase. Do you have any insight on those? Yeah, I had the I pace. Um It's a nice vehicle, and I assume we're Toyota. You're looking at the rap for Yes, sir. You know, I think it comes down to how long you're gonna keep this thing. I think the Jack Weir is a Mork, citing vehicle. Certainly in my mind, At least, it's a more attractive vehicle. Will it go is far is the Toyota with no problems? It ain't going to do it. If you're gonna try to keep this thing well past 100,000 miles Then the rap four is for sure the way going if I were doing around for I do the hybrid, but that's just me. If you if you think you're only going to drive this thing, you know, 10,000 miles a year and you want to keep it 10 years. It will do that and not cost you an arm and a leg after that. After that 100,000 mile markers when things seemed to really start to get expensive with Jack wires and land rovers, which round by the same company, so the safe bets the Toyota the fund bet is the Jag and I do have great Toyota dealers there and soak out buying a new car was so hard, but not if you call card for USA for advice at 196 77 77. Lately. I love to get out of the house and go on a drive. But I hate driving through storms. That's why I drive.

"Clear, but he should be in the hall. Let's be real is just a museum. Yeah, I think Howdy, Curt Schilling. Think Curt Schilling would be a borderline Hall of Fame guy I'd have to. I'm with Jack on that one. I would. I would really dive into the numbers and all that. My hunch tells me I would probably end up voting for him. The bloody sock. We talked earlier about Luke McCaffrey, transferring from the University of Nebraska. 970590. The Internet killed Nebraska football. Once these kids realized that there was a world outside of Nebraska They're able to leave and go to places that had beaches and warmer weather and realized that other programs had better facilities than Nebraska. So the Internet is what brought Nebraska do you not think that Luke actually Was familiar with some of those other programs. Nebraska was not his only choice. They had a lot of choices. Yeah, So there's something going on. At Nebraska. If it were just look, McCaffrey, I would say, Well, I mean, sometimes that happens sure. You compete. You think you should be the guy you turn out not to be the guy. For whatever reason the coaching staff goes in a different direction, and so you don't want to sit there and not play. So there's options. Nowadays, The players are able to take advantage of and go somewhere else and play. I get that, but it's not. It was not just look McCaffrey. There have been other players that have transferred out as well. And I'm sure I'm gonna try and look it up the there was another. Son of a well known former Warner, Kurt Warner. Thank you. Yes, who also he was in his son is a wide receiver, not a quarterback but also is transferring from Nebraska. And there was enough. There was another one a few weeks ago. I thought they've had I think four in the last couple of weeks. Yeah, that's a lot. 970302 this one for you my cleaning out our shed yesterday I found this catcher's mask think it dates back to the late 18 hundreds? It is so cool and caps wondering if I could get it appraised somewhere locally in Greeley. Thanks. Yeah, I don't spend a lot of time agreement. I did. Yes, And I don't know that. But I bet there's somebody who knows where you can get it Appraised, if not in Greeley somewhere in the Denver area, wonder how you would know. That it dates back the late 18 hundreds. Yeah, I don't know. You made Maybe there's ah, a date on it somewhere based on like a Who made it or what year or something like that. My dad would work catcher's mask when we would play catch in the backyard wasn't sure. Yeah, let me just be. I mean, not all the time, but just to be safe and he's old catcher's mitt. And I'll never forget I was in high school and we went out to play catch. It is right before dusk, and my parents had this wooden fence around the perimeter of their property. And my dad backs up against the fence. And so I, You know, I back up and we're warming up and then I'm starting to throw and there's one pitch. I will never forget the fear. In my eyes and in my heart. There was 11 pitch that I threw That quite obviously my dad did not see and it would buy him. And it smacked against the wooden fence behind him. Any blatant. He never moved until the bang of the fence. And I was like, petrified. I thought Oh, my God. I could have killed my dad. So that was I'm pretty sure I stopped and I said, you know, I've had enough pump on anywhere. The catcher's mask. Oh, my goodness. Uh, three or 3945? What's the name of grants? Podcast? I missed it. I'm pretty sure it's the Grand Smith podcast. No, it's well always said that the grants with Marcus not taking it for granted. You know what? What were the hell of I bent? I mean, that's just even I knew that when I say I'm sure if you searched it would come up because it says my name on the title but taking it for granted my bag, Which I like. I think that's a question too. I like that. Yeah, and grants eminently familiar with that phrase around here, so it seems like a logical pick two of the name of a podcast. Yeah, And that zao out everywhere. You confined podcasts, including the free I Heart radio at Nice. So just give it a search. It's also up on R. K o a news radio dot com. Paige, too, You know this is a burgeoning career. Well, for you grants a talented guy, You know, I don't have to tell you that. No, absolutely. No carries me every time I fill in because I'm asked to fill in for three people reminds me that after the show he calls me. You know, Dave, I like Mike, but I'm getting tired of charity. Um, yeah. So he carries me when I when I fill in It's better to be with you then for you. It's better to be with you be doing this show with you as a race for because I like I mean, we never worked together. Yeah. So we have done this in quite some time. And sometimes now, you mean now being a full time Rockies guy with Jack Corrigan. I mean, your your schedule is a tad bit busy. It zah little different. How tough was you for you? You guys, I mean, I know we did. Something similar. How tough was it to call road games off of monitors? Yeah, it's tough, And what's tough about it is that they give us an all what's called in all nine. They give us like three or four different angles. We call that all 22 is right, which is like above top of the stadium behind home plate. So you see all the players, but you can't see their numbers so You know, if a guy's gonna try and steal a base, you can see that he's off and running. And then really, what we're doing is basically watching the same feed that you're watching at home from center field. And so you're really at the mercy of the director. Because of that there was one and I think they were playing the Diamondbacks. I can't remember for sure. But there is a line drive to right. Charlie was out in right field, And by the time the director got to the shot of Charlie, he had the ball and I had no idea if he caught it or if he played it off the bounce. I was listening to your driving us Spirit Boulevard. If that's not what I'm wondering what the hell you know what the hell what happened there? I know, but you know what it Xena happen it, Zob Vesely. Not ideal, but you just roll with it, because that's what you got. All you can do we, Rick and I would go down to empower fielded mile high when the Broncos obviously when they were playing there, and I don't I don't use the monitor too much to call the game when I'm actually able to look out of the Press box and see the game right? But most obviously this year for the first time, we're calling the games from empower Field of Mile high the ruby in being played on the road, so I'm using the same same sort of vehicle that you were forced to use the all 22 Where you have an idea, But you also trying to have three monitors in front of you, Konw. They all 22 stays on the field at all times. There's no commercials. Then there's the TV broadcast that people at home are seen with the delay. And then there's the TV in real time, right, so but but it can be. You know, it's It's a bit of. Ah, it's a bit of a challenge, I will say. Obviously being in the studio for all the Broncos games, so I I listened to you guys pretty closely. You never would have known that you were not on site. If if you can understand the double negative. Yeah, thank you. You're welcome. Not on. Say thank you. It sounded like you were there didn't miss a beat and it was cool. But I also knew that you weren't there and You know, there are some challenger are that that are associated with that. I'm sure from 7202 or three Grant. The podcast is great. We're going to talk about other things, but basically I'm gonna do some interviews with some women. There have had very interesting Um, outdoor experience is that they're going to share with you. They're gonna share some recipes with you and they're gonna speak. I think very Uh, eloquently about Why more women should be involved in that door's Aziz. We know our most of us that studies the statistics, No. Women in the outdoors is the fastest growing segment. It's kind of an interesting phenomenon in that it Z. Really caught fire and is more and more women. Uh, enter into that door world and understand what it can offer. It's it's been amazing. Um Evolution. I guess I would call it in the outdoor industry in particular. I'm sure you've seen a lot of the outdoor television shows that feature husbands and wives or one of them than outdoors and It's Zob Vesely caught my fascination through the years. I've had women on the program with me. I've never done a segment or a program directly. Targeting when the now doors what it means to him. Why they're involved. Um, how they got initiated into sports, and you've heard me say forever and ever. I don't care if you're 8 to 80. Man, woman or child. If if you want to get involved, that doors is a place where you can find a tremendous amount of enjoyment. In appreciation of nature, which, of course, is what all this revolves around so Tonight's the night and I'm leading off tonight's Atlanta Graham. Who I've hunted and fished with this. Uh, going back to 2004 Um, and she has Really become a tremendous advocate for outdoor wind in the sports, and, most importantly, she's become very professional in her approach to it. We've shared many of campfire together. Helped her trail deer that she shot and she's a very proficient with a bow and a gun. So I'm a lead that program off talking to land in tonight. We've also got Tina Hitchner. Who is from Danville, Kentucky, and Tina is another gal that's totally immersed in outdoors, she said. Bird dogs she hunts deer. She's got a lot of recipes she'll share and, most importantly, she's very involved with Get kids involved with Sports and helping Children. Get the first taste. I guess if you will, of hunting and fishing and what it portends. She's a one of the folks with the Uh, league Kentucky Sportsman. She's the with the sixth District over there does tremendous jobs in Valerie Williams is another gown. And batteries for Morgan County. And she has been hurting your fishing for many, many years again. She's into deer hunting. Turkey hunting. Interestingly, though, she's an herbalist and what I mean by that. She's a student of Things in nature that Either curative or have the distal qualities things that I think very, very fascinating. I've been involved in some of that myself. So we're gonna Compared notes on that as well. So it Z. It's a different program. And you ladies out there, put your ears on. Because you're gonna hear some things. I think you're gonna encourage you to become involved to, uh, understand why other women Appreciative of what the outdoor life breaks to you. And again, we're gonna do some recipes, which obviously you're a natural thing. I think for women in that door so We're going to talk about all that. Before we get to the Adam of talk a little bit about what I've been seeing when I've been out last week or so while we've been off there Been rabbit, honey, a good bit. Had some great hunts with my buddies. Down western Kentucky, Larry the lines about a glass globe have been gracious enough to invite me down as they do every year. Long chases have the dogs for those of you who hunt with beagles and love to hear have music. For some reason, this year's a little different than in the past. And I'm not sure what to blame the song, but I'm a lay it out there. Would perhaps enjoy phone call from any year who helped with beagles that have a different observation. But long chases these rabbits are lining out and running. You know hundreds and hundreds of yards for the make the circle. Come back to the John, which I enjoyed that because you get the sea the dog's work and where the rabbit jumps over a ditch your crosses the stream or Hops out of cover runs down a corn row. You get the opportunity Watch the dogs fared all that out. Analyze that maze of traction. Class schools. Dogs are very, very good at that. And so it's been very enjoyable on the squirrel unexcited things with my little Don't Foxy. Very frustrated, quite honestly. If it's great hunts..

"From the 30356 for the Detroit coach. Clip was freaking awesome. I needed that. Yeah, from the three or 3947 Talk about Gary Kubiak and Philip Rivers Retiring. Thanks. Yes, all day yesterday. Koop's is gonna retire from the NFL. You think it's because he's not feeling great? Are that he's just I don't know. I'm not. I have not have not talked to him in quite a while. He's only 59 seems a little young. True. True he was retiring before right. They could. Then he retired because of what you said. When we collapsed on the sideline and That he went back. He was the play caller for the Vikings. I find it unless there's something else and again. This is pure speculation on my part, but I find it hard to believe unless he's got something physically going on that if 59 Gary Kubiak is done With football at some level I I just think that's hard for me to buy into Yeah, it's very demanding job. So Yeah, being a coach in the NFL, and do you believe he'll be in the ring of Fame? Super Bowl winning coach. Long time back up here, much beloved. Back up to John Elway. Um gosh, That is a really good question. I had not thought about that at all. I would think he'll get consideration. I would think to. I mean, I'm on the committee. Have to, you know, look at the entire body of work. You mean he's been involved in some of the bigger some of the biggest moments in Broncos history? S Oh, yeah, I think he would get. I think you get a lot of consideration for the ring of fame. So he was backup quarterback in all of those Super bowls that they lost with John Elway. Nine years. He was put back up quarterback, and then he was, I believe the offensive coordinator In the ones they won without. That is correct. So, yeah, I would think that's a pretty good resume right there. In Broncos history. Well, he mean, he wouldn't get in on the back of quarterback argument that would not be sufficient to get into the ring fame, but it does speak to his longevity. On importance in the organization. I don't think he'd get in. On the offensive coordinator for the two Super Bowl wins Super Bowl 32 33. In and of itself. But then he was the head coach of the team that won Super Bowl 50. So when you compile all of that together I think it's I think it's worth having the discussion. We call that body of work, Dave, his body of work nicely done. When you look at it all. I think he would. He's in the discussion. That's a good way to put it. Good dude, too. Yep. They're evidently has been a crash and I 25 near Loveland. We have no details on that. Let's see if we can find out more with somebody that texted us about that asking will. It was saying that was taking five hours to clean it up it Zob Vesely, a big crash, but we don't know. Too many of the details about that in a texture, asking if we're going to talk about Hank here, and we did at the top of the show. We are aware that he passed away at 86 Yeah, Hall of Fame legendary baseball player. They just showed that clip. On ESPN and hear of him circling the bases, and it was two guys. That were kind of chased him down right about between shortstop and third base. They weren't chasing him down to a cost him. They just wanted to celebrate with him, But But you couldn't mean that just speaks to the different time that That happened, right? You couldn't do that mean you holy cow. You know, Security's a lot on rightfully so a lot higher these days. It was dangerous, just jump out of the stands and say We're going to go try to round the bases with Hammer and Hank and that was the era when people which streak games, naked guys would jump on the field run across the field. I don't know. Seven. It just would run and jump out of the stands. Come out of the stand naked. Yeah, was the thing was a surprise you somebody would go naked down the street? No, not at all, because I've never had that before. That seems disgusting that anyone would ever do that. Anybody can depends on who it is. But why would anybody G not something that Rick and I would consider doing it for obvious reasons. I don't think anybody really needs to see us. Nobody would want to see that. Nobody wants that. Nobody needs that. Nobody wants to see Nobody's asking for that. Streaking. What depends on what man I'm speaking strictly of you and me. I think you could say that about 99% of the men. Oh, I think there's some men that the be a lot of people that would say Hell, yes, Yeah, There's a few out there. Female and male. Yeah, but women. It was the guy that play Who's the big? What's that dude's name? George Clooney. Don't think I think George is you know George is an attractive guy for sure. But I think he's past his prime in terms of streaking naked now the rock You know, he might be.

"Put in my opinion is a is a a generational like talent at shortstop and whether you've got Marco Luciano coming up this year or next year or not Having a dad like that on the roster can not be a negative thing, especially if we anticipated some point. There could be a designated hitter, and it doesn't sound like it would have cost you Joey Barker. Pat Bailey doesn't seem that way. So all remains to be seen a dead The offense is something Little bit more confident. And right now, I just wonder, And I wonder how telling it will be when Farhaan decides to make a move and Scott Harris decides to make a move via trade or make a big splash on the free agent market. So we're all just kind of sitting back and waiting and again. This could be the opposite of what we saw with the San Diego Padres, where they went out. They got their big players, and it could it could have fallen flat. This could've been a disaster for them. In for a J. Preller to say, Hey, let's put all this money into these two corner infielders. And then none of your early person reporting out except all they did was going make trades for all the best pictures on the market. Yu Darvish, Blake Snell. Joe must, Grove. All added. Mike Levinger gets added last last trade deadline. So obviously the Padres are always It's more frustrating, I guess is a Giants fan to watch it happening around you. Weird Steve Kerr last week. Kind of see, like, you know, we're not there yet. We're preparing for a championship run sometime down the road effectively is what he told us. The Giants are going to say that because they're in the middle of this process, But I think we all have to believe that this isn't the year right that it's going to be once this next crop of players getting and I don't think we're waiting for Buster and for Belton for Crawford to go away. Don't think that's the deal at all. I just think that They're not going to spend that money. Even though I've got all this flexibility. It appears right now until they know what they have in their hand. A Zafar, His young talent goes, Let's get the 1 400 cut here. This one's a little bit of a longer one. But it talks about him deciding on whether or not Alex would would be a starter and how they go about signing these guys on the market. They've identified left handed pitchers that they wanted. This is from Friday, far on saying that he does view Alex would as a starter in this rotation. You know, we talked about it with some of the some of the sort of starting pitchers who could conceivably be moving back and forth between the rotation and the bullpen. And, you know, um, potentially have guys coming and being in front of them as as openers on bond. You know, in in a way, it's just, um, you know, in sure. You know, a guy who was essentially a starting pitcher, If if there is a, you know, ever a case where, you know, we think it makes sense to use an opener where you know it. That's not something that should be. Sort of held against. You know the picture from a financial standpoint and so rather than using the kind of traditional game started metric for further performance woman structure we went with this kind of ball game scenario. I mean, we view Alex as a guy who's going to start games for us, Um And again hope hope we can give him the ball every fifth day. And as we found this year when you have Sort of reliable starters. That's always going to be preferable to trying to patch together, you know, 27 outs at the front and the back of the game, so it's not a strategy that we're looking to do, But it's something that came up with a number of guys that we've been talking about contracts with not just this offseason but last off season and it's an easy gift for us because Our intention is to have these guys start. But it seems like a reasonable protection for the players. Why I thought that was an interesting comment, thereby Farhaan saying that it Zob Vesely and agreed. It's obviously much easier. When you could have a starting pitcher who you know is going to get out when he's not gonna put you into a position to Ah Ah have to go to an opener or to have to go to Ah, both guy at the back end and try to patch together 27 ounces what he's saying at the beginning or the end of the game. The goal is to have starting pitchers that can do that. However, we see and going back to the World Series last year, Blake still was doing that. They were like now get his ass out of there. He's too good. He's getting too many. Out. Sit his ass down s so so far. I'm saying, you know, the plan is Have guys be the starters is all fine and good, but I still you know you're giving Alex would have won your $3 million deal. It's an incentive deal. The hope is that he can pitch in and the entirety of the season he's dealt with shoulder problems. He's dealt with blisters on his fingers. He's pitched both out of the bullpen and as a starting pitcher, and I don't like he's made more than 30 starts all but a couple of times in his career. I'm running it down right here. 30 starts Four different times his career and he did it last in 20. Excuse me, he did. It last essentially never really started 30 games once he's pitched in 30, plus games four times in his career, So this is some will be watching. We'll hear from Alex would. On the other side. We got into a little free agent discussion. There's one the other side will hear from Alex would who met with Giants media yesterday? Actually shed some light on on last year's free agent market, saying he was almost a giant last season..

I'm Susanna Palmer, This is Bloomberg. This is Bloomberg Business Week with Carol Master and Bloomberg. Quick takes Tim instead of it from Bloomberg Radio. Hi, I'm Carol Massar. And I'm Tim Stenton back of Bloomberg. Quick. Take Welcome to the weekend edition of Bloomberg Business Week. All right, Tim Week. 44 working from home, Okay, but he's counting care. I know I apparently am. We've been in her studio, though. In New York City at Bloomberg headquarters. It's week full of anxiety and questions of what's to come. We watch virus numbers taking higher the vaccine rollout continuing to frustrate, and for the first time in history, a U. S president was impeached for a second time. With that in mind, we'll hear from the author of Kill Switch, the Rise of the Modern Senate and the crippling of American Democracy, also its primary motivation. Woz his anger at government shutdown students. You two coronavirus, the U. S Capitol writer that has no regrets. This was among our most read stories this week. For me. It was a must read is a fascinating story. And in the meantime, the business world Carol, it marches on. I pose off and running as Petco in public again. We've got the CEO. But, Tim, we're gonna begin with the top story this week. Big Tax. Social media giants Facebook, Twitter, Google Amazon. Banning President Trump Parlor and others in an effort to prevent further right organizing. We caught up with Bloomberg News Technology reporter Sarah Friar, author of No Filter The Inside story. Instagram along with Bloomberg Business Week, editor Jill Weber, who got to say kicked it off with a little levity in an already stressful 2021. I was looking forward to 2021. I didn't look anything like 2020. But don't think I'll be so lucky on Bob Vesely. Last week's chaos actually came to a head even again over the weekend with sort of the social me Years platforms. Basically, basically, you know, not only blocking Trump and perhaps permanently banning him in the case of Twitter, But then I think the parlor conversation is become the one. That's even more interesting because Both the Apple APP store and Google's play store have taken restrictions there. But then I thought the big move in the one that I was actually most eager to talk to Sarah about was sort of the The Amazon. Moved eight of us coming in and basically blocking it. I didn't see that coming this year, but it does show you don't like. Not only are the social media companies able to wield the stick, but like Amazon's got the biggest stick of all. So so it's Sarah. Kind of there's this Is this a fast moving story, but I want to understand. Like how you're thinking about where this conversation go goes from from here. It does hail the right and was the tech power conversation that we're going to have a lot more this year as these antitrust Uh, battles with Washington Rage on. I expect that to continue during the Biden administration, and that tech power conversation is both about because the power to restrict as as much as it is about the power to allow And so the companies are grappling with this allowing parlor to be on the APP store, allowing parlor to have posting by Amazon. That's the thing that employees are looking at. Critics are looking at and saying well. Why don't you just cut them off? You have the power to do that. Your private company and the company. There are things you know what? Yeah, We don't want to be dealing with this. This You don't want this headache. And and it's really interesting to see that evolution because we've we've talked about it a lot like you said with the social media companies. A lot of conservatives are concerned about too much. Heading off of people have accounts. A lot of people on the Democratic side are concerned about the hosting of illegal activity and people who are inciting violence and And the balance is really what is it is an issue here. Looking Valley companies have a reputation for being really mission driven, and I think a lot of employees have had Uh, personal reckoning over the last few years. Is it ethical to work for Facebook? Is it ethical to work for Google? If they're working with the Defense Department on, you know Uh, Putting people in cases of the border. There have been a lot of new debates about what it means. If you work for a company that has certain requires certain vendors, certain contracts and host certain voices. And so we have seen employees the almost the more forceful voice against their leaders and even the government because the government can't can't really Be clear about what they want everyone days in check power, but they don't necessarily have a clear direction of what would be a good resolution, whereas employees Neither. Mostly they're mostly liberal. They're well educated, and they're saying, Hey, I don't want to work for a place that support something like this, And we saw an open water from Twitter employees to Jack Dorsey asking for bigger ban on Trump. They had previously only been home for 12 hours, and now that he's permanently banned And we've seen we've seen Amazon employees right to you. Their employer about parlor is saying, Why're we hosting parlor? We should We should take them off. And I think that that power should not be underestimated because of how hard it is to recruit Silicon Valley. The best talent Well and what's to stop. I don't know. Like I don't know whether there's oranges to oranges, apples to apples, but another company from saying, I don't like. Well, I guess companies do that right if they don't wanna work with the supplier, if they don't want to work with something, they have that opportunity to do it, Sarah, I'm just trying to Understand the differences or not differences from another company. Kind of banning something. You know whether they don't sell to a certain customer. They do that all the time, right? Well, sometimes who? Okay a few years ago Cos We're happy to just work within the bounds of the law. There are sanctions against Iran. We won't sell to around. But that was like, you know, if it's illegal, we won't do it. On Dat was how Facebook and Twitter thought about content a lot in the early days, you know, remove his little as possible. All right, Tim. Safe to say, social media really rethinking some of its playbook. We saw that this week, right? No, no doubt about it. Yeah, That's right. I mean, I was really surprised to see big moves from the biggest tech companies essentially deep platform in the president really remarkable, all right. That was Bloomberg News technology reporter Sarah Friar. She joined us along with Bloomberg Business Week. Editor. Joe Weber still to come as social media banned the president, the U. S. Has voted to impeach him for historic second time We'll hear from a top aide to former Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and the author of Kill Switch, The Rise of the Modern Senate and the Crippling of American Democracy. His wife says he's like, Yeah, She told me she told on him now, But if you ever taking Vesely taking a bath. It feels great, but you need to really try and bath with the CBD bomb. If you have it takes if you have a stressed day and you're not really wanting to take somebody. This is a great way to do it. You can throw a bath bomb in there. Get in there for about 15 to 20 minutes. You get relaxed. Your pores Get open. Your CBD seeps into your joints and things like that. And it helps relax those things When you get out of promise you People are gonna be pounding your door down, though the news The news actually came to our store last year, and it was last year last year and did a story about our bath bombs. And since then we've had to, you know, make by bigger. Yeah. So I mean, people are loving him. Come try. Um, Well, you know, and, uh We've all I think had enough of smelling. Whatever that e don't want to name anything, but you saw me wiping down everything here and then I saved my little bottle here of the Shaman Clinton watch because it doesn't smell like that stuff. No, it's not. It's not sticky doesn't smell There's no residue. Um, it Zen 100%. It's actually called. It's a hypo Cloris acid. So what that is That's one of the main ingredients and bleach there. There's no alcohol in it. No, absolutely not. No. Now, when you come to our store, we do sell them in the big bottles now. Gallon if you open up this gallon, and we'll know it's actually very, very little. But when you smell it in there, you can take a hint of bleach bleach, right? Yeah, but it's not strong and you can smell it on your hands at all. But it will. Kill the harmful bacteria and not hurt the helpful bacteria. So it's very, very effective. One time. I think I remember you saying for some people, you add an essential oil to Yes, sir. I do that at home. I had a little bit of Ah, you know, Limon, essentially lemongrass or whatever you want Your favorite one? Yeah. And I have it in here and it has that lemon smell. So you know, it just helps me. It does in. As I said, I've been anxious about all this stuff about people about the you know, catching it all that Spray that calm She? Yeah, Absolutely. So s so we have the bath bombs. The massage oil, the cleansing wash. We're gonna work a miracle on my skin here. What else would you like people to know about that? I mean it. Would these be nice gifts toe for the new year? Yeah. You know what's really good about this is that Um, it all mostly all fits in your stocking stuffers. That's actually perfect stocking stuffers. So when we talked about I believe last night, but Colin nice things. So I believe last last week or two weeks ago we talked about, you know, introducing somebody your family, so it might be a good way to, uh, talk to your family about it, you know, see how they're comfortable and maybe help him with some of their quality of life by sticking some CBD and they're stocking stuffer in and again. It does not get you high. It's not going to get Them any kind of psychoactive feeling s Oh, it's a very, very good way. Well, and you know what? I just discovered they come in. Did your bath bombs and all that come in different sense? Yeah, absolutely. Matter of fact, you've got four since its natural lavender. Palace SANTO and Tea tree. What is pull of Santo Hollow Santo. I've got some notes on that may be what is polo something? That's my Fields Name? No, it's also known as Holy would or would, of course, say they did That guy just like to say That's my field Hollow Santo is. It's also known as Holy would or would of the Saints. It describes a group of trees that produce a powerful essential oil known to help Stimulate the immune system and fight inflammation. It wasn't just my uncle's name on you. I said I was gonna have a field and then the bath bombs. There's an oatmeal that yes, lavender lilac tea tree, admit what is the most popular ones. The lavender is very popular. I think, lavender and you know, in many, many ways is very popular. So I think people come in and our show our our body hydrating lotion smells like lavender. Hydrating lotion in this matter of fact of face cream also has a bunch of different organic oils in it. So if you if you check the ingredients, it's very, very awesome. We actually had a dermatologist come in and look at our face cream. And and she was reading it. And then I asked her, you know. Well, she was looking for. Are you trying to steal our formula? Oh, I didn't know she was a government college is at the point. So then I was like you looking for a certain ingredient they're allergic to. And she said no. I'm a dermatologist. I'm seeing if this is a good product. Yeah, So I mean, it was good. You know, I was hoping it was gonna be good. I was hoping was gonna be good. So she approved it. She got some and she's been coming since. But it's been. It's amazing if you check the ingredients. This is a little fun fact about lavender. Okay, It's just I would love a fun fact. Yes. Lavender Essential oil. It's one of the most used essential oils in the world today, Okay? Yeah. The benefits of lavender were actually discovered about 2500 years ago. It's got a powerful anti anti oxidant a sedative, calming properties, and it's been used both cosmetically and therapeutically for centuries. Egyptians used it for mummification is and perfume. Ah, I zint that something? Yeah. My mama. Yeah. References being among the Romans used for anointing and healing in the Romans used it for bathing, cooking and purifying the air. So just some little fun facts And so, yes, wonderful well and then with American shaman Home, You will take go the added step of the in the technology, right? Yeah, Absolutely. So The best absorption obviously is whenever it's nan ified, and that's one something that we're known for is is our our products are most of our products are one of our main products that that we use is all ran through this nano technology, so basically it's taking these molecules and making them into a very small Very small. That way, they're able to absorb a lot quicker into your body or whatever you're trying to do here. Well, Nano means 100. Nana meters. So Ananda Meter is one billion of a meter all night. So you can you can you can see so Yeah. Very, very small. Wow. And when it's that small, it's a lot easier to absorb. It's just simple, simple science. Well, also, what we learned in 2021 of the best things we learned was that CBD American shaman has an APP. I will help you investigate and learn about all these things. How do people find the app? Yes. So you know if you have an iPhone, obviously you just go to your app store. Obviously, if you have, Andrew, Do you have an app store? Just go to your app store Download CBD. "That the law in Pennsylvania was crystal clear that they had to be in By the time the polls closed and justice Alito ordered that those ballots be held out separately, and, uh, my understanding is that Even if you didn't count those ballots that it wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome of the election in Pennsylvania, and I thought that was a prudent thing to do, because I do think that election officials in each state are required by the U. S constitution to follow the rules for their state. And, uh, you know, I don't I would never let a Supreme Court represents the state and that is another question. I think it was a good thing. We didn't have to have it resolved by the Supreme Court states because It turned out there bringing their votes at stake to make any difference. But that's not fraud, though, either when you know when people are voting good faith and are told, you know here a deadlines. Um they're voting in good faith that's not fraud. All right. The Republican Party has been in a multi year, multi decade campaign to make it harder for people to vote. Where they think they're not going to vote Republican and that's just exactly. It's quite ironic that you know they're complaining about really is about how it got too easy to vote. Which meant they lost the election because if the people really speak, the people are much closer to the middle of the road. Democrats in the ER to what has turned into an extremist Republican party these days. Well, let me let me jump in here and the devil's advocate this thing a little bit because I I know. I believe that personally, People ought to have an I D and show that idea at the polling place. We show it everywhere else. And if that's voter suppression than Then so be it. I don't believe that that is. Have you ever shown up at the polls and been told that you have already voted? Let's see. No, no. Okay, your news That would be it would be caught your view. But Jordan let me ask you a question. Why? And when did this This controversy erupts? Ah, I'm not suggesting for a second that it isn't all political that, uh, Stacey Abrams in Georgia, for instance, is marching. Headstrong to get people registered and do all kinds of things to move the needle, and I think this happens in every election, but, um, I think it's Z. Well, it is a good thing, but I also think it's unfair to taint all Republicans or many Republicans. As as being so you know, suppressing vote. I just don't see that It's been a major element of the Republican strategy to stay in power. Two of their main pillars or a level Yeah, it's become Uh, suppress majority will one is vote suppression. The other is Jerry Mander, which both parties do that And so I don't understand that it's not. It's not a bipartisan thing, but it's been a major. Elements of their strategy of staying in power. And so, you know, I mean, I think you know it. Zob Vesely. There's nothing wrong with making sure that people who are entitled to vote don't vote. That's not what this was about The reason that that that the movement towards voter idea and making it hard, harder and harder tol have the right idea and that sort of thing. Has all been about suppressing votes. It hasn't been about for partisan reasons and hasn't been about safeguarding against election front. But none of them will tell the truth when they supported. Well, I'm telling you the truth. From my vantage point. It makes perfect sense that it's It's logical and I can't understand for the life of me. How people can be. Ah beat songs I d and and expect to survive in this society we live in when voting is so precious and important, but that's just me. I'm not a Republican operative or democratic operative. I can guarantee a Susan We've got to run. I'm so sorry Late for break. We'll come right back and continue right after these words outside.
