"Hot and crispy, if yours aren't bring them back and we'll replace them. AP sports I'm gay ferry in 39 year old Justin Verlander continues to look great following Tommy John surgery. Verlander is 13 and three with a 1.86 ERA after allowing a run in four hits over 7 innings of the Astros four one win over the Mariners. Emptied the tank there in the 7th and I was able to make some big pictures in a big spot. The ems have dropped two straight since a 14 game winning streak. One day after the Blue Jays erupted for a team record 28 runs, four runs were more than enough for manager John Schneider's team in a four one win over the Red Sox. I think last night was a bit of an outlier where everything kind of fell into place and, you know, today was just a hard fought win. Alec manoa allowed one run over 6 innings. Craig heiss was at the Orioles 6 three comeback win against Garrett Cole and the Yankees. The Orioles scored two in the 7th and two more in the 8th, Cedric Mullins hit a sack fly to give them a four three lead and Ramon urias hit a two run Homer to complete the comeback. We just stayed together. We've been doing it. During the season and we just feel good. I mean, we fight through the whole game and we don't give up. The Indians of White Sox split appear in Chicago. Other AL winners were the twins royals and a's. The braves are within a half game of the mets and the NL east. Kyle Wright shook off All-Star Game rust and picked up his 12th win as Atlanta ripped the angel 7 to two. Once I got going, I felt like I was kind of right back to where I left off so it was nice to use the brake, get some time off and then take it into the second half now so far. Meanwhile, the mets absorbed the two one loss to the pod races, Blake Snell held New York to four hits over 5 scoreless

Because i think people have an idea that they think they know. But maybe they don't is justin verlander lander any chance he pitches this year for you guys unfortunately no And jv and i talk a couple of weeks ago about this. He actually reached out to his doctors and surgeons and ask them you know. Is it something i can do. You know i it could i. Could i come back Even in a relief role You know october if we're lucky to get that far and You know they told them just with the data the surgery where he would be in the progression. That's you know. could he do it. Yeah but it would. it would have tremendous risk Just for the efficacy of the of the surgery and everything else and so. They advised him You know strongly against it So unfortunately no. But i think it says so much about justin as a competitor and as a teammate. That that he's the one that was asking these questions. He was the one pushing thing. I wanna come back. i wanna help. I want to try to get these guys over the finish line But unfortunately with the with the medical direction that he got something that we have taken off the table james. I have so much respect. I know you to for his grind at this state. You know at this stage their career. What else you've got approval for him. Maybe that's the reason why feels like he does so moving past that. How good can he be starting next spring as we move on when he's healthy. How good can he still be. I mean. I don't think there's any reason to think that he won't return to the form that we saw here at starting in twenty seventeen and You know he kept himself in tremendous shape And he's taking this opportunity while he's been rehabbing from the surgery to get himself in tremendous shape and really rework his body and so. I don't see any reason that he couldn't return to the cy young form that he added twenty nineteen. I'm sure there are people who are going to say because of his age that they would expect that he wouldn't bounce back but with his work ethic the way he takes care of himself away that he focuses the way that he competes. "The first since Justin Verlander against Toronto. Back in 2000 and 11. No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Whoa, whoa. Yeah. E love the No. The Frank No, no, um s Oh, yeah. There you got, there was I mean, he look, the thing with Spencer Turnbull is he's always had this stuff. It's just putting it together and he finally did it, which is awesome. Speaking of putting it together, You know, I was putting it together. The U. S. P B o United your professional Baseball league. A shortened season last year, and now they're coming back in and look the Andy Appleby, who owns the whole thing, Uh, what's your favorite part of bringing people back to the ballpark? I know you're a big baseball guy, but in terms of bringing everybody back in for this season, what are you looking most forward to You know, Chris, I really miss the smiles. I know that sounds crazy. But you know when you have a business where everyone who comes in smiling when they're at the game, they're smiling. And when they're leaving their smiling, it zah really wonderful thing, and we had a little bit of that last year with our 100 or 200 fans. But nothing like this year when we're hopefully going to be back to normal. Yeah. I mean, I don't even think you played 40 games last year, and you know, just with everything surrounding Covad. It was just it was. It was a tough situation to be in as a business owner and operating. Ah, league. Um, so with that being said, now you're getting back to normal. Here. You're getting you're gonna get people back in the sands, Which is cool. What's your plan for folks coming in? Like, what's the what? The protocol is gonna be. Yes. So we're still kind of working that out, Chris, you know, last year we had a 224 page covert protocol program. Believe it or not to 24 pages. Yeah, 224. Pages. You know for employees, customers, you know, we had temperature checks and all of that kind of thing this year. Of course, things are changing so dramatically. There might be a real lowering of the restrictions here in the next couple of weeks, or maybe no restrictions, which would be our druthers. But right now, we don't need to do temperature checks Mass are optional on and we're hoping that we don't have to do the six FT of Social distance. Thing on, then we can just be back toe absolute normal. But what's so interesting when you go over there these days is and people coming again for the first time after two years, it's almost like a grand re opening. I mean, who gets a chance to, uh, you know, open their beautiful stadium twice, and I feel that way. And, of course, as you can tell, I'm more of a glass half full guy. It's great, because I mean, look, Jimmy John's field is a beautiful facility. You cannot really good baseball toe to show the people. So, um, what are the expectations for for the for the games this year? I mean, this is gonna be it's gonna be a lot of fun and write your kind of bringing it back for a second round here. It was like a soft opening before. Now, the game's really gonna get underway. Well, exactly. And, you know, people are seeing it and they're saying, Oh, my gosh, a baseball field And as we know, you know, when you see a baseball diamond, I don't care if it's a little league field, you know, you start to decompress as human being. Things. And, uh, but, you know, we actually have a slogan this year, Chris bringing back the fund and 2021. So even before all these restrictions were lifted, we are. We made a commitment to our fans that we would still have now. Fireworks every Friday night a live band every Saturday. We have a 250 person, strong dance crew who really couldn't perform last year because we had such a limit on people. Um and what we have are bad dog back. Whiffle ball field magician, you name it A Xeni. One knows it's much more than just a baseball game. But I think you touched on something interesting if we were having this conversation. Five years ago, I would have said Hey, if we can get one or two players signed, I'll be happy. But interestingly enough now we've had 38 players signed, including Randi dot net, could just signed a $10 million contract. And if he was on the line right now, he would tell you that there's no way he'd even be playing baseball today. Right without the advent of our league, So it's it's been gratifying, and one other thing I miss Chris is really being able to give back to the community. Believe it or not, we have over 1000 different charities that leverage the ballpark each summer to raise money, and they'll all be back and droves this year. I'm sure so so it's really exciting. And you know, we just can't wait to get started. Well, you know, if you need any updates at the ballpark, you know which players you gotta go to now because they've got they got a little extra in their pockets for you coming up. Went Tonto was that a tiger game the other day. And hadn't been an obviously quite a while. And I can't tell you How much I missed it. How much I missed having a beer and some peanuts and just watching the baseball game now, the magical thing about about us, PBL and Jimmy John's field, is it High level talent. But in addition, it's it's It's a totally different environment, especially for families. If you got young kids, there is no better place to see a ball game. Thing. Jimmy John's field there just really isn't well, You know, Chris because of the wonderful partnerships that we've created, it really allowed me to invest in the game presentation. So you talk about making an impact on the family unit. You know, the family can come and literally park for free. Come for $24 a family of four sitting on the lawn with their blanket, and they literally get to give their kids a multi million dollar game presentation. That is his.

MLB Spring training: A Look At the Detroit Tigers

"Innovative and all that I do think there's a chance of the Tigers offense could be better than people expect. And certainly the pitching staff could get to that point as well with all the young arms that they have. The problem is, I think they're very clearly the fifth place team in that division, so a lot of teams will take liberties with them will take advantage of them and also to keep in mind as you're watching spring training as you're kind of looking at these stats and the numbers and all of that. They're using a different baseball right now, then they will be using during the regular season and I don't know why Major League Baseball has not supplied those baseballs to the pictures for everyone to get used to them, but You know, we're also going to see Cold Weather games, which we didn't see last year early on in the season, so I think everybody offensively will be in for a rude awakening and the Tigers, probably to a higher degree. All right, So let me ask you, how does it happen when you have a Tiger's team and McGee Cabrera is still there, But when you have guys, I mean that line if they had just just a few years back Was like, ridiculous and you're going like this team. You know, they just need to, you know, sort of, and Verlander is still there And then all of a sudden now you look at that lineup and you look at the depth chart You like. Who are these guys? And they look, I know there's young prospects was always prospects, You know, cause you're trading away and you're dumping salary. I mean, Look, the Yankees are paying that luxury tax every year. I mean, they're going to make sure that they have their guys. It's It's tough for me to look at the Detroit franchise to where, you know. Pause. The mascot, maybe the best hitter on the team. It's one of those things where Mike Village in the Tigers were close, and Ellis was getting older. He knew this health was starting to fail all that he was going to stop at nothing to try and win a World Series with that team. And he had the right GM to do it. And Dave Dombrowski, whose very happy to spend a lot of the owner's money and then go somewhere else, So that was kind of the situation that happened there in Detroit was Village spent and spent and spent to try and get that world. Syria's before he passed away and it didn't happen. And then when his son took over the team, it was okay. We've got some really bad contracts that we need to unload. We either have to, you know, hope that we can jump in a time machine and fast forward things or make trades like the Verlander trade. You know, like getting rid of J. D. Martinez. Some of these guys that were very high priced players that were probably starting to reach the aging curve, starting to reach that point where they were going to start to decline a little bit faster. So that's just kind of what happened with the Tigers. And you know al Avila, whose the GM now came out and basically said, Look, We're not spending any money this year because we shouldn't we don't need to. We're planning our next year, so the Tigers probably will get that payroll back up. But hopefully it's it's smarter spending than

I worked with him a little bit in Detroit when I was with Fox Sports up there always a really genuine nice person to interact with. You can't always say that about everybody. "You have a gambling problem, please call 1 805 to 2 47 100 was talking about earlier that I want. The Dodgers and Astros have caused me so much pain, agony and anger that now that sports paintings legal, I want to get something out of them. So the last two days on MLB exhibition games. I'm taking the Dodgers TTO win last night I took the Astros to win. And as Albert points out, you gotta bet with your head, not your heart, Which is true, and that's why I'm not. I'm not going down the Rockies. And I haven't fared well when I bet on May I bet on Manchester United over the weekend to win in the F a cup against Chelsea when everything was screaming to me that it was going to be Chelsea, who won because Olivier Drew loves to play in the half a cop he scored like 100 FAA FAA Cup Goals. Manchester United They're trying to get back to Europe. They don't need 1/2 a cup. Every thing was screaming to me. To take Chelsea and I took Manchester United because You know, I'm a shareholder. I love him. And I was burned. So even though I tried to tell myself that sometimes I let my heart decide. Not tonight. I'm just I'm just gonna watch the Rockies game and enjoy it. I'm not putting anything. I'm not being against them. I'm not betting for them, but yes, I will bet a lot on the Dodgers. And I will bet a lot on Astro's because I do believe that both of them are going to be good teams this year. Speaking of Astros Dodgers baseball in general. From the 719 Worst case scenario altitude of a wins the MVP Verlander wins the Cy Young and Astros win the World Series without getting booed. That is the ultimate And note the specific players that's so important. Jose Altuve. Wearing the microphone wearing the Peace. The buzzer. The microphone is a buzzer. Buzzer on his chest underneath the jersey Don't get me wet. Don't rebuff my jersey. At the buzzer on and then Verlander and how Much of what You know, this is a guy that is willing to stand up for against anyone. And call out people. And his wife calls out people. On Twitter in profane ways. And yet, Justin Verlander. Whimpers. Mutters under his breath when he's asked anything about the Astros cheating. So, yes, not on Ly would an Astro winning EVP Cy Young in the World Series? Be terrible, but specifically those players It would be pretty bad. Carlos Correa. Would be a close second behind out too. I don't know that I have a huge beef with any other Astros pitcher except Justin Verlander. But yes. That has to be the ultimate worst case scenario. It's just the year of the Astros. Nobody gets suspended. No players get suspended anyway. No postseason band. We don't take away the title. And then we go on and win another one. Definitely worse Case scenario. Steve Steve Steve. They have to lose, meaning the Astros to put the world back in karmic order. And they really suck. They looked out with Cove. It's still hope. A few pictures. Ah, Which buying their best players PS with this weird season. I am thinking a dark horse could win it all. Astros lose World Siri's, So you'd rather Steve, if I'm getting this right? You'd rather see the Astros. Make it to the world Siri's and then gets struck down in an epic way, so all of us together can collectively root against the Houston Astros. And see them losing the World Series. I'm kind of debating that. But then again, I want to be right in my world. Siri's Pick. Another. Easter eggs and so far, we've we've Decided. Or you found out from me that I'm not picking the Rockies to go to the World Series, and I'm telling you right now, I'm not picking the Astros. So I think I'd rather be right about my world. Siri's pick, then then get the catharsis of the Astros getting to the World Series and then losing. I would just assume is them lose. 60 games. But I think that's ah, interesting point You bring up Steve in it, and we really haven't talked about that potential. In baseball like we have with basketball and hockey and not to say that we believe There will be a dark horse, but it's more of a topic and I don't know. And maybe you guys have heard his show or watch something on television or seen on Twitter. I haven't seen a lot of people throwing out, you know. Dark horse. Playoff teams. But not so much the potential of a dark horse to win the world Siri's and as I'm saying that I take that back, because I think we're talking yesterday about the race. Reyes is surprising. And some writers are saying the Rays they're going to win the World Series. So I guess there are some out there. But I don't think the conversation has been as prevalent because you haven't had And the reason for that is you haven't had somebody come out like Pedro Martinez or David Ortiz or Alex Rodriguez or or some player that's now an analyst. Do what shacked it and say We cannot play the season. Because I can't bear to think that who we predestined to win a title doesn't win it. So that's part of the reason why we haven't had the discussion..

"Time Ryan Gorman with me this evening, James Verlander on the board and joining me on the hotline. Right now I have the publisher of Florida politics dot com Peter Shore she confined on Twitter. Peter Schorsch NFL Peter A Busy day in Florida politics. How are you doing this evening? It is where Ah ri 49 days out from the primary, which is I know this kind of our bread and butter time. I mean, down ballot away from the big big headline that you cover. We get into a lot of the back and forth on Congressional and legislative races. Um, but I'm kind of off the grid but are very important for those who follow. A Florida politics religiously. One of the issues that are driving those races. Is it really just all about the pandemic right now? And everything related to that? Like the economy? Now it's the opposite of that is very localized. You know, it's in the Republican primaries. How much you love Donald Trump a lot or even one, you handsome. Do you think he's really handsome that that's at play? And there's a big couple of primaries? One north of Gainesville? There's one in Southwest Florida. There's one over Ross Piano and Franklin. So that kind of one of the big issues there but, you know, like in a Senate District, one of the big GOP legislative primaries Water policy is a big issue. Um, you know, this is an area in Naples and Fort Myers when they've been hit with the algae blooms again and again. But a lot of times it just comes back down to No. A lot of background issues on people, you know, you know, I'm dealing with one right now, with literally a person running for the state House in Central Florida House Sister 42. He was arrested for Impersonating a law enforcement officer in Osceola County Commissioner with the front runner for the race, But he got arrested tonight like 20 minutes ago for Impersonating law enforcement and that's kind of the zaniness. That you find in all of these races, and there's probably another 60 year 70 that we track going into you know, five Tuesday from now and so They're all interesting. They really are. Americana, if you know little rallies and people It's the opposite of Trump Biden there they would do anything for any of bit of attention, you know, endorsed by, you know, some small town mayor and that's you know, that's the highlight of their day, and so That's what that right now I'm doing a lot of that. Skipping forward a little bit to the general election. People like Tio trash poles, and I get it. But the fact is these campaigns they pay very close attention to the polling. And what is it telling you right now? What are you hearing from candidates who are running from campaigns about the mood of the country heading into November? You know That's a good question, because I could tell you a few things from things that I'm seeing, and I probably You know, I probably pulling like I just got done in houses four up in the paint handle. I just got done with statewide We're doing Hillsborough County right now. I just Southwest border. Um A couple of note number one, um Trump is still very popular Republican with Republicans, but he's 95% popular with Republicans for the Republicans right out. I think he said it like 81 82% locked in there. So there's definitely he has lost some standing with that. I want to see 20%. I'd say maybe, like 10 to 15% seem to be breaking away or at least unsure about him. Right now, that would be my number one thing. Number two Thie absolute. Bewildering effect of Donald Trump's war on voting by mail is really playing out in the Republican primaries, whereas You know, 2 to 13 to one it Wass. Republicans were voting that way in the last election on the election before that, Now, those numbers are upside down. Just came out of a Panhandle pole. Like I said. And I think it's 33 to 67. Vote by mail versus vote on Election Day and that's just very different than it ever been, so that that's a really interesting takeaway from that and then number three Everybody's kind of interesting to see what Rhonda Mantises approval rating his plane. Um, the closer you get to Ah City. Um, you know, he kind of like a 45%. But once you get up in the Panhandle, so he's still in that very comfortable. 55 to 60% still waiting for a statewide poll from somebody else's show that He's turned upside down in the polls. We have not seen that yet. So, um, it's interesting to see how flying that plane right now in terms of the personal approval. I'm joined by Florida politics publisher Peter Shore Sheer on PM Tampa Bay. Let's talk about the governor for a second because the Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran's order. To reopen schools here in Florida. That story just keeps getting stranger and stranger as governor to Santa's today said that he didn't order the code Red on and now it's like, so what happened? Did the education commissioner just do it on his own? You're telling me you knew nothing about it? How do you know nothing about it? If that's the case, that's such a big issue. What is going on there? Can can you in real quick, Insert Have your producer insert the sound of the bus backing up so that I I want Teo going on here, which is Rhonda Sanchez. Is throwing Richard Corcoran under the bus and then, like, Keep going back and forth over him..

"I mean, even even the you know, even the really short reliever. Guys. We don't see him Go three days on the road, maybe a couple times a year. I mean, there's there's teams out there that don't let any any of their relievers go three days. And now with this being a year that maybe that's different, maybe a little bit, But I just think that with With how all these organizations trying, you know. Keep everyone healthy. Keep everyone on the top of their game. I don't think it's really gonna have that big of a difference. I know there's been a lot of talk about starting pitching. Starting pitching is going to be so far behind. I don't think the pitching is going to be much different at all because the reliance on bullpens Has been paramount. For what? The last 456 years, maybe even more than that. I mean, starting pitchers just don't go that deep. Yeah, when you have you know, when you got into Graham or Verlander something. Yeah. Those guys were going to go. They're going to go. You know, well over 200 innings, but you've got to remember who led the National League in innings last year. Well, it was Strasbourg at like 2 13 No, that's not really that big of a number. I mean, it's a great season for him, but it's really not that crazy of a number. And so I don't think the pitching is going to be that much different than what we saw in 2019. Interesting. Is it true that in like, 91 92 when you're with the Braves, thatyou were tipping pitches, by which way your mullet was facing. Oh, wow. I would have time to myself right there, you little liberating watching these game when they show the classic games for the twins with Muller was outstanding. Allah had 80 mullet game in the early nineties. It was great wasn't really right. That was. Yeah, it was it. OK, Billy Ray Cyrus type. Okay, good. Gotta go back there with playing in Atlanta. You know it was all stringing. Hey, listen, we're talking earlier at the top of the show, Mike. How much you know I have watched Garrett Cole for a couple of interest squad games, and it's so much fun watching compete. And even interest squad games. You got to watch him up close the last couple of years in Houston, your perspective on on what it's gonna be like I'm just looking at same boy. It's gonna be fun watching him pitch 12 times this year and I was only 12. Not 30 but What's your perspective on watching the competitors that we're going to see in this short season? Knowing what you know about the Yankees, the environment in the expectations? Absolute stud. I mean, he is. He's one of the best pitchers in and just the raw stuff. And and he was. The crazy thing is, and unfortunately, you guys are going to be able to get in the clubhouse and get to know him. He is a big time baseball nerd. Okay, well, I found that out. Yeah, he is always tryingto figure out. You know what is the approach? How would you face this guy? How would you face that guy? Um, and it's really he'll. He'll kind of ask anybody that he has any respect for. But you know what's crazy about him is is the velocity is just ridiculous. I mean, he carries 98 all day long. It doesn't matter if the first pitch or 120th pitch. But the effort in his delivery looks like man. He's out there throwing batting practice, and then the ball just explodes out of his hand. No, it was it was fun to watch him. And then you gave Justin Verlander last year go back to back. His Javy would throw hard to now. J B is obviously much older, but you know, J V is a He is a max effort. He looks like he's throwing hard and Garrett, Man, that ball just comes out of his hands so easy. And then you, you know, you mix in the curve ball and slider. I mean, there's a reason why he got the contract. He's the best pitcher in the game. He's in. He's in his heyday, and I think he's going to do this. He takes great care of himself. So I think the velocity it may come down in a couple of years, sir, but this is going to be a guy that's going to be able to do it for a while because of command of the off speed stuff. That's that's great to hear, you know, swimming and I were talking a little bit about that before that. It's great to see guys like that on Jacob deGrom, who I get to watch on. Little basis to you know who could and again they're not going to do this because of the type of people that they are, But you you could throw your hat out there every now and then. It just kind of okay. You know this? Here's another game. I'm going to go get it, but they don't You know, they get ticked off when there are base runners, you know, right if they even if they go out there and pitched seven innings of three hit one run ball, you know, they get ticked off. How can I do it better the next time. It's great to see guys like that, you know, really put in the time. You know you're going to see Garrett walk off the mound after having a dominant inning and he's going to be talking to himself because he didn't make a pitch that he thought he should have made. Or, you know, the ball leaked back over the plate or the breaking ball state in the zone when it wasn't goingto supposed to be in the zone. And that's the perfectionist that he is. He was a pleasure to watch, man. He really wass and and then getting to know him. Ah, and and just his his work ethic and just how much he loves. I mean, we hear it all the time that you know this guy's the ultimate competitors. You know that. That really is. Who? Garrett Cole. This This dude, just love, love, love to compete, and he's gotta drive to go out there and be the best every time he takes them out..

"Of the Houston Astros Justin Verlander on the Astros in twenty seventeen so it's partly jeans again he watched the whole thing happened he won a World Series by being a part of now you do have to wonder how he feels in this moment because the manager he's played for has been fired the GM he's worked with and won a title with has been fired maybe puts his guard up a little bit right maybe a little defensive maybe he's a little embarrassed I don't know right you you wonder a little bit Justin for landers a guy that's come out very strongly in the past against sign stealing he is an outspoken guy in general so what do you what do you think he feels about well Justin Verlander in front of the baseball writers association of America he jokes that quote everyone knows the Astros are technologically analytically advanced wow he's making jokes about the cheating scandal as he's accepting an award as he's accepting an award like a week two weeks after the punishments come down have you no shame right is there a point you look it doesn't go it clearly because to me it felt like as soon as the punishment happened it wasn't enough when you've got for later coming out and cracking jokes in front of people who dedicate their lives to baseball baseball writers other players and he's coming down just saying Hey guys just a little big cheating thing we did when we kind of stole world cheers we maybe should add well wasn't that just great wasn't that fun a good inside joke between us isn't it you remember right and cece's a bath he was sitting there and he was like this is inviting me reports so far that he was pretty pissed about the whole thing and I get that how can you not be sees a bad deal on the Yankees in twenty seventeen lose to the Astros who in the world here you gotta wonder like yes they didn't she would we be the Astros would we be in the World Series it's just it's amazing that he can come out in a venue like that in a setting like that ever violator just make a joke out of it all it tells you it wasn't enough and if I was rob Manfred I'd be embarrassed I'd be mad too but I'd be embarrassed first I mean you can't have a guy mocking you like this didn't set the precedent right so who knows how it's gonna go from here but if I look the Houston Astros they're supposed to issue an apology by the way one spring training comes around boy is that gonna be heartfelt they're gonna shine the rings they're going to walk out on the field and they're going to say yeah I'm sorry guys that you sure then the pop champagne again and look at the batter and have a good laugh we'll be all over with completely ridiculous so eight five five two one two four two two seven that's how you doing the show eight five five two one two four two two seven talk about a sixteen game season or a seventeen game season for the NFL what's better in your opinion what do you think is better for the sport I want sixteen games let's talk to rod who's in San Diego right here on CBS sports radio I'll go and what's up well sixteen games makes the most sense it's white I think moderation is always a good thing when you're sitting in a bar and you do one more shot and you know if you're just one more shot you're going to go over the edge yeah and you still doing it yeah in order to feel scared but you got to drive home going to get up in the morning you got to go to work you know well quick I played football for the time I was nine until I was twenty okay ninety pound is all the way to division one and it's like I mean you kids are smart man I mean there twenty one twenty two twenty three making millions of dollars but at the same time one more game doesn't seem like a lot I mean on top of pre season and you know playoffs and all that good stuff doesn't seem like a lot but one more game it's just I know the money's there and greed is a good thing you know where it's great seven deadly sins you know he's great to while we're at it one of the hi our nothing makes me happier than in just eating until I can't move anymore good I've been there I'm too soon you know I mean you know you're you're twenty four years old he was a young man who was just retired from the answers yeah I mean smart dude now there are billions of dollars you know I think you have like four four concussions and like two years or something like that I was I was I was you know I've already had two concussion playing football yeah any for guys like Keith who they think about those concussions it'll say is it worth it to keep playing I've made a lot of money and and they'll make more money if they go to seventeen games of the season which means their incentive to retire earlier is a little bit stronger ride thanks for the call you still reading my friend you stay greedy now it creates a good thing so here's the thing I think about by the way to talk a little bit about just Inver lander hearing held he doesn't really seem to care about the punishment that the Astros got doesn't seem to bother him a little bit even a little bit the NBA the MLB other too many games in baseball yes there's too many games in baseball there's just too much there's too many games in the NBA I've heard the idea for the before what if the NBA was a sixteen game season instead of eighty two you think of soccer what's made soccer great right part of what's made soccer great is it it's a shorter schedule and they played thirty something games so when you play that many games every game matters and it's not like him you know Hey it's a Wednesday night we're traveling the Cleveland who cares right those kinds of things happen once in a while a good team goes into a bad game they're on the road it's a three game stretch on the road and the just like you know what Christmas is in a week we're going to be playing the box we're gonna be playing the the Lakers whatever like now will will care about that game this game that not for me not for me I mean if we happen to be close to the end I'll try to turn it on I'll I'll try to go from eighty to a hundred but play full tilt the first quarter let's not kid ourselves too many games so that's part of the problem I don't too many games more feels like a good thing do you want more baseball games do you want more NBA games.

"Astros Justin Verlander has won the American League Cy Young Award narrowly beating out teammate Gerrit Cole Brander spoke with MLB network afterwards I mean having come so close a couple other times you know just everything all all that this means I mean it's just so it's just such an incredible feeling I can't even really put into words right now needs for winter second career cy young previously winning with the Detroit Tigers in twenty eleven before tonight's announcement the Astros were already the buzz in the baseball world accused by former pitcher Mike Fiers of using a center field camera to steal pitching signs during their twenty seventeen World Series run Astros beat writer Brian McTaggart told MLB network earlier the team could pay a hefty fine if the allegations prove true the red Sox a few years ago many apple watches thing that went on when they were using the apple watch and I think that was what I order million dollar sign so I would certainly think if this bears out to be true but they can certainly be something to me a much bigger than that it also points out the cardinals lost two draft picks and paid a two million dollar fine when a former scouting director acted the Astros internal database a federal judge in putting a stop to an Austin companies online publication of instructions on how to make three D. printed guns the trump administration had agreed last year to allow defense distributed to publish the gun blueprints online Washington in nineteen other states those suit challenging the agreement a Seattle US district judge this week avoid it the agreement police releasing a sketch of the suspect who shot a Houston teenager on Halloween night the eighteen year old victim range in critical condition after he was shot the head by another driver when he stopped at a red light suspect described as a white or Hispanic man in his thirties or forties with a receding hairline he was driving a black or gray four door newer model Dodge ram pickup truck man making dinner in his northwest Harris County home hospitalized after someone it shot him police say the shooter snuck into the man's backyard in the hidden Arbor neighborhood and shot him through the kitchen window the bullet went to the victims are before lodging in his chest but he is expected to survive anyone with information is asked to call Harris County sheriff's office first public hearing in the Democrats impeachment probe against president Donald Trump today featured ambassador bill Taylor and state department official George can't both touted as Ukraine experts house intelligence is top Republican Devin newness of California challenged tailoring can't arguing they do not have direct knowledge in never spoke to president trump about Ukraine officials alarm at the president's actions was typically based on secondhand third hand and even forced hand of rumors and innuendo Illinois Democrat congressman Mike quickly countered that the White House is preventing those who have spoken with the president from testifying about it so I suspect.
