"For them is more dynamism, more like just raw counting stats, man, more goals and assists from the guys in the middle of the park. It feels like legit brought that. I think you said that already of like, he was a late he kind of found the LA galaxy top form of like later I box goal scorer a bit. Also can help facilitate things the final third. A lot of it's gonna have to come from internal improvement from Alan velasco. He's their record signing, I believe. If not up there, I don't remember how much dental came for back. Velasco was more the last guy was more. That needs to come. And there's the gas theorem. Like it should, right? There's a young guy who came to this country for the first time. And already started, he should improve your hope that his Jesus for it can be a creator for Paul areola Sebastian legit and Alan velasco consistently and maybe hotter O'Brien can score a goal here or there with this team. So the odds have them 5th to get out of the Western Conference, as I said, they finished. Third last year, where do you fall on that? My gut says 5th is about right. But given that they were third last year, given that they probably do have a little bit more depth and we should see just individually a step forward from velasco. And they should write back should be an upgrade. Because they struggled at right back last year. I'm going to I'll say over. I'll say they finish better than 5th. Yeah, I'm going to say over two because over, I think means 5th also counts. I think they'll be fourth or 5th. Yeah. A lot hinges on and cozy to far right or Sebastian and Bianca. I like to fara. I think when you talk to people and I'm a less last year, he was the, he was one of the, if we had to go get a starter from another team, he's the next guy up. He's viewed by a lot of people. He played better two years ago than he did last year. I think there's belief there. There's also a weird thing here where Justin chase is going to come back in June. I doubt he wants to be in Dallas.

"But this is a solid outfit that should be in the playoffs and could go a couple of steps further than last season. Now the concern, big concern, is that the reliance on honey mukhtar and attack hasn't really been addressed. I don't see till bomber doing a whole lot more. But who knows? Can chant Davis really be a useful aid to the I hate to say it, aging, tax mccarty. We shall see. I like that move that Sean Davis acquisition. You like that? I really do, yeah. I'm betting on walker Zimmerman and that defense to keep Nashville front and center for a third year. So I guess what I'm saying is it's been gradual progress from them. Pretty good progress, actually. And I think they can take another step. I like it. I agree with all that. That's a good shot by you. All right, next one, I think blankety blank was the biggest move of the off season. I mean, I kind of danced around it with Lorenzo and sine. I think that kind of almost has to be the answer, but I'm going to go with a different one for the sake of varying things up a little bit, JJ. I think. Was the biggest move of the off season. That's right, Jordan, shakiri is how we pronounce it here in the Americanized version as he joins the Chicago fire. And look, this is also not to the level of insignia, but also a very big name player who is of a relatively young age making this move into MLS. And maybe it flew under the radar because of the insane move, but this is like, for Chicago, this is kind of like hello. Like, wow, this is, this is potentially a huge 7 and a half $1 million designated player in the deal from Lyon. Didn't work for him in France. He couldn't wait to get out and it seemed like they were quick to usher him out. But like we've seen what he can be when he's the focal point of an attack, whether it's for stoke, whether it's for his national team in Switzerland, and now he'll be that they just acquired Casper shabel from Philadelphia as well, which will be important, but don't get it twisted. This attack is going to be about shakiri, only 30 years old, wants to be informed for the World Cup, says his goal here is clear to win trophies. So yeah, Jordan shakiri for the Chicago fire, who do you have? I think Alan velasco was the biggest move of the off season. In the context of where he went really. So FC Dallas talked about a new era when they announced the signing of velasco and it really does feel like that. Sony, I think last season, a couple of months ago towards the end of the season when we were winding down on MLS on this podcast, we talked about how Dallas needed to figure out something beyond just being a development from within club and maybe be less frugal. And the signing velasco for 7 million represents that as they look to replace one exciting teenager in Ricardo Pepe with another exciting teenager from independiente. Velazquez was one of the top young prospects in Argentina and should he do well in MLS independent stand to make additional money once certain targets are hit. There isn't a lot of people predicting much change in league position for FC Dallas despite adding a winger of Velazquez stature, but this feels like a big chance to change the outlook for the haunts, basically. That, hey, we are going to do things differently. We're going to be a little less a little less, as I said, frugal. And we're bringing in top quality South American players who have viewed on their site, Velazquez was 19. He could make a big impact in that site. Because it's always the thing that has seemingly held them back from being a consistent elite team. Yeah. It's like they don't want it. It's like they get so far and that's good enough. But just to keep to put bombs on seats in Dallas, this is the kind of player you need to sign. Yeah. Agreed. All right, next one, I really have no idea what to expect out of blankety blank this season. I JJ went with LAFC. Two enormous question marks. Hang over their season. Obviously a new manager in Steve cherundolo and their star player in Carlos vela. I mean, chiral is a question simply because even though he's from within their structure with Las Vegas, probably won't change a ton in terms of how they play, but it's still a guy who's overseeing his biggest job to date. For the first time. And with vela, I mean, we're not far off from him being like bob Bradley had won him to be like the messy of this league. But then injuries have really changed the conversation about him and what kind of player he's going to be. Is he still great or is his trajectory kind of one headed towards sort of being done as an elite player? Comes in, of course, could be a massive move for them. Franco Escobar joining as well could be a massive move too, even acquisitions like Ryan hollingshead, Ismail to jury shrouding. These could all be important, but it's a lot of new pieces that they're going to try to fit together so we'll see. I mean, look, there's a root here for them to rise once again to being one of the best teams in the west. If you look at that attack, arango, Brian Rodriguez back and evela is vela, then they could be great. Truly great. But I guess it sounds so simple to say, but I guess it's vela for me. Like he's what makes them such a big question. Because we just don't, if he's not playing, then they'll be average or below average, maybe out of the playoffs. But if he's playing and playing great, they could be one of the best in the league. So when you're success kind of hinges on one player, the way I feel like there's might, it makes them a total question mark. I went with San Jose earthquakes. Okay. I honestly didn't think Matthias ammeter would be around long enough to make it a year three, but here we are. I don't think he did either. We're starting year four. This is some quotes from him in the last month or so. This is the fourth year that I'm given the chance to coach at this club in this league, which I'm thankful for. I have ten months before I'm free. And obviously whenever this happens in football, there's always interest. There's personal interest, and there's interest from other people. I live day by day. I can't avoid that there's people that try to sign us as a coaching staff. I was very clear at the end of last season, we bought the owner GM and I was very clear with them at the beginning of this season as well. But I lived there today and I always tried to give it my max. Which seems like just like an influencer's Instagram post. Has this gone well, not really, will it get better? No evidence to suggest it will. Why might it get better? Kid Cowell, Jeremy OBB, the signing of Jan gregus, the signing of Montero from the union, but then there's other things that make me wonder..

"You know, and otherwise invest invest invest, and now we've got the Alan velasco rumors we don't know if those gonna come off independent pay apparently asking for more money, but like if he's your right winger if Paul areola is your right winger for the next three or four years and you're using that allocation money to go get him and you're paying him and he's a DP for you as U.S. national team player ambition there. Like you're going on trying to make it happen. He's not a move you make as like, oh, well, we'll wait and see, like, what might happen? He's a movie you make to try to win. And if you have him, you have Ferrera, you have maybe it's shown, you know, the youth, the young guy from Hungary who's been pretty good played in the Euros, or maybe it's velasco, and then you have pom K and some of these other guys? You might have something there. You might be a playoff team a solid playoff team. I don't know, we'll see. It seems to me as though he will move. Because of the market forces, D.C. need help on the cap. He doesn't really fit snugly. Seems like he would like to go. They're going to figure it out. I don't think it'll happen a couple of minutes. I don't think that makes any sense for D.C. at all. They can't generate anything off that sale because they paid for them and they paid salary on them. Just to recoup the cost, the project is going to break even. So I don't see that happening. Quickly, we'll run through and hit the previews here. IO, U 22 deal with turnoff C, best dope. I think it's a huge deal along with the haze for a deal for just the reality of MLS, which is this is another way for academy players to be rewarded. It's another mechanism for MLS teams to sort of control their players and you gotta be looking at IO and say, hey man, you're the starter..

"There's like forty five employees and we probably at one time had twenty people that have been affected by pancreatic cancer. So it's a big thing at our jobs because almost everybody has lost somebody or know somebody. That's lost somebody so it's affected our little place so we can imagine how it's affected other people. Now you mentioned it's affected your workplace. I know in the beginning. It started where we knew. One of the owners wives pass from cancer. But since that time you'd come up with a number of how many people there have been affected in some way or another we've been up to like twenty two not everybody. Is there still. But there's been at least twenty two people within that time that has lost someone or either before The owner's wife or after or you know it. It's just been devastating to see that that many people have been affected and it's because we bring the awareness that you find out that you know these people also have been affected. Yes it's very difficult because say it's the a rare cancer but when you come across it and you hear it seems like every time you hear something about pancreatic cancer somebody you know we'll pipe in. I know somebody or lost somebody. There's a connection so it makes me always wonder. How really rare is this cancer. But apparently it's not out there as much as some of the other ones in. This is why we want to use world pancreatic cancer day. Not just that day but every day as many days as we can but just to have one day at least where everything we look at you look at purple and you think pancreatic cancer and where you can go and there's some other ways that people can get involved as far as helping to bring awareness. I think just going to the website Pan kan offers like doing events with covert right now. It's kinda hard to do public events but you can also donate you can go to do our purple stride. Which is april thirtieth of next year. We're also doing a fight for cancer hockey with the rain in ontario and that will be november twenty seventh so.

"Because you'd have barbara gordon. You know you want her behind that computer trying to figure things out on her because you know. That's that's the hero. She becomes after she gets injured after batman. The killing joke. As i talked about so that regard i was a little let down another. It'd be you were you. Were you disappointed that it wasn't more faithful to the oracle from the connex. I was surprised. I was like what is that. Why are we doing that. But i suppose if they mentioned the factory being mothballed it has to be something physical. If you will tangible in that sense. But i would've liked something more akin to the comics. The reason why we love the character of oracle barbara gordon so much so becomes oracle perhaps and names herself. After the i that could that could also be. I suppose because if obviously she's the only one who has the facial recognition the access to this. I suppose that was how it sort of went because in the comics to my knowledge. Babs was just so ingenious because she was able to use all the technology available to her but she didn't use it through an ai. She had cameras computers she was nutria gene. She's nutrient genius. So i would have liked more of that. But i guess like oh. Let's do the whole brother. I will how kind of thing going on there. Yeah all right topic number two. Could you imagine being dropped off at the wrong border. Like what if they had left like. How do they end up at the wrong border. Like were there aside this other by john border. They must've been as good as direction. To the and later he was describing. Driving is in georgia. So i am pretty sure. They could've got turned around brazely. What if you were dropped off. "Can there was just no way she was going to be able to get into the spot that the angle she was and i almost pulled over to ask. She'd like me to help her but she had. There was a couple of people. Were driving with her. That were kind of guiding her as much as possible. But i think it's a very very important skill to have. So i definitely think people should need especially in like a city like in chicago or like baltimore. If you can't fail are what are you gonna do you. Driving in circles. No that skill. They took it off of the maryland tests. Right now as i'm just curious to know how many people had to do it and then if it's still around or not i've got to think for sure that it's it was on the test that i took i even remember. I don't know if you guys had to do this. But when i was in grade school taking like bicycle driving tests in having day between the two lines are six inches apart with your bike and going through That i think is really good. Training for driving ended helps you to be more confidence. I remember it was always the slow kids that were. We've been all over the place and could never stay between the two lines and you need a certain amount of speed to be able to stay strayed and and all. That stuff is just really good training for driving. I think wow you guys. Yeah a lot of good training. I did not. I haven't. I've never heard of that I think to be able to bring a bike to school. You had to go through this writing tasks and we know. This was like up until sixth grade. We probably had to be fifth or sixth. And there was a course that they laid out and i was really good training even for driving later because they wanted to be confident that you knew how to ride a bike to school safely. That was all idea that does make sense especially at that young age. You make sure that the student gets there safely and knows how to ride that bike so thinking into the future of driving and with the possibility of cars being able to drive themselves. What do you think about this. And would you be comfortable getting in that car. I mean it's it would. I'd have to see it happen for a while before. I know the testing and everything and i know that they're working on it now. But i've got to think that eventually that's going to be a thing and we're just going to be able to jump into the back of these driverless cars that are probably going to be safer than than we are because they don't tax they don't put on makeup they don't i don't know what else that i think. In the end they could be a lot safer than man. driving agree. I would not be one of the first people to be like yes. I have a driverless car. Talk about trucks huge trucks. I mean that's a whole other deal. I mean for the most part. They do it with airplanes. I suppose army talk about big vehicles. There's always the pilots in there as a backup..

"Kind of thing that's crazy. I don't think we don't get that much snow here but imagine the frustration. I says along shoveling. I don't know what the right answer is to that. Take the boss now that we know the kind of driver are. Let's go back to driving. I how would you describe your first time driving experience and who was it with. I think my mom probably took me to practice before. I got my license more than anyone would go to just like one of the big parking lots in the area whether it was church or business and just drive around was a great way to learn to get used to the paddles on the steering works and things like that. I got my driver's license on my birthday on my sixteenth birthday and remember driving. Ever since i just. I i've always been a very confident driver. I went to a driving school. Also i didn't do. I don't remember that it was actually even offered in. My high school might have been. But i did live near my high school so i i went to a local. It was called atoms driving school here in chicago. I remember the first time. I think about this often. Almost oftentimes when merging onto the expressway. And yeah the importance of getting up to speed and just kind of finding that space to to merge into probably the first time i did it was somewhat timid was timid. And so you're going. Kind of slow in traffic's passed in you and that's definitely not safe. You need to be up to speed with the traffic to be able to slide in there. And so from that day on that. I that i did that with the instructor. I don't think i ever did it again. On my sixteenth birthday got my driver's license and was driving. Ever since. But i would say that my mom was the one that that really taught me trusted me to take me out and show me how to drive and things. I never drove stick. I didn't try..

"Actually turn on their opposite indicator like the turn on their right indicator meaning that they're going to pass you instead of you would think that would turn the left one onto pass you on the left because they do drive on the right hand side of the road and that was always something that i had to get used to. They often will drive half on the. What do you call the apron right. Hand side the shoulder. They'll drive half on the shoulder in half on the road and this is actually a courteous thing because it gives you room to pull around them but they might have their flashers on while they do. It's interesting how these different cultures drive around the world. Have these different ways of doing things in if you travel much you you really have to figure that out pretty quickly wherever you go. I just picturing somebody either from the us going there from. They're coming here and they're just doing what they're used to. And then the others are just like what is going on. Yeah i mean it would be hard for me to be driving there in. Do the drive the way that they do use the indicator the way that they do take a while to get used to that. Because it's the opposite of what i would think. Zulueta doesn't mean my ways right but that's a grownup driving. I still in. I don't understand the whole plot. The reisig non to go last. I can't process that. Yeah they're telling the person behind them that they're going to the right so that you can go around to the left. I don't know. I i can't explain it. At least they use their signals. Here is a rare few people who actually use their signals. If you're like in the us people don't use their second definitely in chicago. I haven't found that to me. It's especially when someone speed demon in the really racing through medium amount of traffic and they're not using their turn signal. That's just really dangerous..

"I think it's a fairly new feature and so it took me like ten minutes to figure that out. They good as my car was back into the space at the car rental agency so i was able to kind of let it roll out. I actually i think. I had to push it out but ended up fighting reverse and then immediately. I hit a toll like right out of the airport. There's a toll. Now i gotta figure out how the toll system works there all these different things that you really don't think about all the signs are in french. Imagine that a lot of times. They're french and english the local language in english. But let's say a very american of meat Assumed that would be the case there. But i'm in france. Why should there be english signs in english so it was interesting. Because i can't tell you how many words i recognized that we use an english that are of french origin. So i was able to kinda squeak by an over time. I was there for like two or three weeks. And so i was able to figure it out but it was always something then. I couldn't figure out how to get the gps working. Because i never used gps. I usually use my phone. But i paid extra to have. Gts in the car. So i wanted to figure it out. And then i couldn't get it off of french. So yeah the a woman talking to me speaking in french. But i knew that there had to be a way to get her to speak. English is just one thing after another like that which it was just a comedy of errors. I couldn't figure out how to use cruise control than there was some sort of a proximity indicator that every time i went over one of the lines on the road it would honk or beep figure out. Turn that off just one thing after another. It was quite the learning experience. That's hilarious especially when you like the. Gps i was like well..

"So when i'm just a passenger. I've never driven over there. That throws an extra level of anxiety into I'm thinking of things the opposite way when it comes to well who's got the right way and things like that but the indian drivers especially the ones that we have for our vehicles are group vehicles. I mean these are professional drivers. They are super calm. They i've had drivers will just lay on the horn all the time. And they're especially in cambodian. It's really just to let someone know that you're there. It's not about getting angry or get out of my way hong kong. It's like dumb. I'm here the aware that. I'm i'm on your laughter coming up behind you whatever. Just sort of a warning. I think that's system works well but it does make for a cacophony of of horns. Just twenty four seven in some places but the indian drivers especially the professional ones that i've worked with our super calm and they just have patients like you can't believe because you have to. I mean if you didn't you would go nuts trying to get angry every time someone cut you off or blocked in front of you or took a turn in front of you when they shouldn't have i mean there's just a thousand reasons that i might get irritated with the other driver but when you're doing it every day for your whole life in your professional driver even not just become immune to it and just go with the flow. You have to and i was reading your blog buzz. I was because we have been to. India like yep. That's accurate very true. Especially the horn. I agree that is twenty. Four seven are uncle even told us that nobody uses their rear view mirror and he just had. It was a cd player or something does covering as like nobody uses is only windshield driving that i believe that they call it the sonic thunder the horn just splits. People know that you're there kind of the same thing happened in happens in cambodia. In one time we had a driver who just every time anyone would walk up towards the side of the road that we were on. He was driving. he would honk. And the person had of known Medium sized bus was coming down the road but he had to just let everything person a car and took to know that he was coming so he was honking for like three hours straits and finally. I had to calm local tour. Operators said could you please ask him not to haunt the horn like this. I mean if there's if it's were in danger and there's an accident about to happen it's a really emergency absolutely but not every time you know. Chicken comes to the edge of the road. He's honking horn. And it was super irritating for three hours. i had. I must've been so annoying. I know you have your mostly the passenger when you're another countries from the sound of it but has being in those driving situations influence your driving back here in the us or are you still the same kind of driver like that doesn't affect your driving. I don't think it really affects my driving. I i've been to europe. Probably a hundred times now and i've only rented a car twice and mostly the only reason that i don't is that number one it can be very expensive to park. Fuel is very expensive..

Review of Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G

"There are plenty of android phones, and of course, the IPHONE to consider at three hundred and forty nine dollars. The Regular Pixel for a is easy to recommend at four, hundred, ninety, nine dollars the pixel for five G.. A bit more comparison shopping as with all pixels, the five Jeez strengths are hard to put on a SPEC sheet. It's more unassuming than other android phones, but it's software is more elegant and easier to use, and of course, the camera is almost surely better than the direct competition it will turn heads but the pixel for five G. won't let you down either and quote. But. What about that Pixel five over at and Gadget Cris Velasco says, android eleven is clean and clever on the pixel five. The five has long battery life, but the Pixel lineups cameras overall have stagnated. So lacking that key leadership differentiator rival phones can now offer better value quote. It's the best smallish android phone I've used in a long time with plenty of charming software features and a smattering of high niceties. If this were any other year, I'd probably be recommending. It more strongly, but it's not. So I can't to be clear if clean clever software with term support is the first thing you value most in a smartphone the pixel five is probably the best you can get. But consider this you could get a galaxy S. twenty F e Five G. With a more flexible camera system better performance a bigger more beautiful screen and expandable storage for seven hundred dollars seven fifty if you want one that plays Nice with 'em and. Wave Five G. Networks, and while it software won't be for everyone, the seven hundred and fifty dollars, plus at is another option in the same price range and packs a faster chipset more ram and storage and super fast charging, and it's camera while slightly behind the Pixel five in image quality is a lot closer than Google would probably care to admit I. Know I'm sort of comparing apples to oranges here. So how about this the pixel for a five G. Which? Uses the same chipset as the five pecks. The same cameras has a bigger screen that's still really easy to handle all for between five hundred and six hundred dollars. If you can live without water or dust resistance and you don't care about wireless charging, you're probably better off with one of these. Instead none of this is to say I don't like the Pixel five or that it's a bad phone I'm just not convinced. It's the best deal right now and quote.

Larry Itliong and the Great Delano Grape Strike

"Year is nineteen sixty five. The Vietnam War is escalating. I have today ordered. Tha Nam the Air Mobile Division and certain other footage which will raise our fighting strength from seventy five thousand one hundred and twenty five thousand men almost immediately X. is assassinated Jeff Van. The gunfire went off and his hand was up. I remember turned around and the next thing I saw smell come falling back in the jet. Martin Luther King Junior leads a series of civil rights marches in Selma Alabama. They I want to say to the state of Alabama. Just want to say to the people as a matter of and the nations of the world that we are not about turnaround. We own the move. Now yes we on the move and Norway racism the Bannon and in California farmworkers faced with racial discrimination and economic hardship organizing for their rights as workers. And as okay so quick recap on the history of farm workers on the West Coast and specifically California. Immigrants had been exploited as cheap farm labor for years. I Chinese Japanese migrants then Filipino. Nationals arrived in the nineteen twenties. Mexicans became a large part of the farm labor force around time but also just poor folks of all backgrounds looking for work. Black White Brown were exploited. They lived in shabby wooden houses near the fields. They worked for hours under the Sun. Some even lived in former concentration camps which house Japanese Americans during their internment in World War. Two since they first started coming over in the nineteen twenties Filipino. Farmworkers had tried negotiating for better working conditions and wages with their bosses. Usually white guys called growers beheld. Strikes started organizations and unions. They were often met with violence. Or they'd lose their jobs. Gore's were higher other ethnic groups. Instead scabs to their strikes like the immigrants who came before them Filipinos were thought of as hard workers who were obedient easy to control but they were also militant having lived through years of race. Riots shootouts violent. Confrontations with police growers SCABS. It wasn't uncommon for Filipinos to draw knives on the picket line. Larry it Leon came up in this old school. Militant tradition of striking labor organizing and by the nineteen sixties. He was a leader of a union that represented farmworkers call the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee. A Walk which was supported by a larger union the AFL CIO. Larry worked the likes of Mexican American activists. Dolores Huerta and Filipino. American organizers Philip Aracruz. Who called Larry the most powerful Filipino leader in a walk? He had the most experience. I mean he'd been in a lot of strikes you know and he was the head of a walk at the time this. Miriam Powell a journalist and historian who spent almost a decade writing books and articles about another famous Labor leader Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers which we'll get to in a bit in terms of the nuts and bolts like being a Labor leader running a union. Larry was the guy absolutely. That's where story picks back up as a union organizer and leader one of Larry's jobs is to visit farms in the Central Valley to recruit. New members moves his family to Delano. Where he the mostly Filipino. Workers in May nineteen sixty five opportunity knocks in nearby. Coachella valley where there are also Filipino. Workers who need help. Here's Patrick again. As older Larry. Here's some workers did a dollar forty in our Filipinos are getting a dollar twenty five an hour. Now that don't make sense to me. It's time to strike okay so to strike meant. The workers would stop working until their employers. The growers listen to the demands but striking farmworkers wasn't going to be easy they were going against big agricultural business agribusiness. The man agribusiness was the most powerful industry in California at that time. Million Powell again arm workers were really the poorest people who also had no protection all of this sort of existing health safety and labor laws that applied to other professions. Do not apply to farm workers could be fired at will. They be made to work any kinds of hours or no restrictions no health or safety requirements so for them to take on this enormously powerful industry a was a huge talent when the farmworkers decide to go on strike in the Coachella Valley. They don't go to the fields to work. Instead we pick it in demand for better wages. They held up signs march. Saying chant confront the growers. They don't get paid and some workers are even arrested. But in ten days the growers give in the workers get their fifteen cent raise. Let's pick these grapes. After the harvest Larry in the farmer workers head north to the next job the grape fields of Delano. Where they hope to get the same rates but the growers refused to give the farmworkers meeting a community. Space might remember called Filipino Hall. Let's do this. Delano has a thriving Filipino community with lots of farm workers and members of eight walk so they actually establish a Filipino Hall. And at this meeting it is packed. It's mostly Filipinos but there are also some members who aren't the Black Puerto Rican Mexican even white their backgrounds different. But they all have one thing in common. You've suffered enough under the growers and they want real change now. Really neither raised by public actress on this anymore. We are getting any younger. We need better wages and union today. Dude these courses suck breezing my us of here. Larry and the other union leaders here the farm workers but understandably they have concerns if we strike. You might lose your house. You might lose your car. Your family might be on the streets. Hungary. It's going to be tough. Are you sure you want this farm? Workers decide to vote on whether or not they should go on strike back. My name is John Arlington born and raised here in Delano in present day Filipino Hall. I talked to John Arlington. Whose Father Mariano Lila Farmington also known as Bob was a Filipino immigrant and Delano farmworker. He was in Filipino Hall. That Fateful Day my dad and our family were part of a long agriculture workers organizing committee and with Larry. And Leon Philip the Veracruz People Osco and so many others were here in this hall. I'm talking to you now. In September seventh nineteen sixty five where we had a day long second meeting about the strike. And when Larry asked if anyone could make a motion regarding strike my father stood and made the motion to begin the great strike that started in Delano. Bob's made the motion to go on. Strike those in favor of the strike. Stand up and raise your hands high. Okay so what the heck everyone standing up. We're going on a strike you crazy. Bill Pinos Next Day September eighth nineteen sixty five the farmworkers show up at the grape vineyards ready for work according to the documentary Delano Manos by Marissa. Arroyo just like any other day at work. The farmer workers started picking Ripe Grapes on the vines. Then they'd set them down on the ground they move onto the next Bein. Fake Red Grapes. Set them down. Here's a clip from the film with organizer United Farmworkers Vice President. Pete Velasco we pick the ripe grapes and trim it and then move onto the next by under the same thing at moon. Our there are a lot of big grapes under that is when about the thousand five hundred. Pretty Pianos went on strike against the grape growers in

California bill would provide free abortion pills on campus

"A state Bill is making its way through the legislature that would ensure access to medication induced abortion at public universities. KCRW polling Velasco reports the legislation would ensure women at U and UC campuses would be able to access abortion pills. The abortion pill is a non invasive, and non surgical process to end the pregnancy within the first ten weeks. It is not currently available at any public campus health centers, which otherwise do provide other reproductive health services, Connie Leyva, the democratic state, Senator representing chino introduce the Bill now as we stand with everything that's happening nationally. I think it's absolutely critical that California continues to do the right thing, which is to make it easier for women to access or constitutionally protected right to have an abortion Leiva says a coalition of supporters as pledged to provide funding to these campus health centers, so they can provide the service including
