S. house of representatives loans impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump Nancy Pelosi accused the president of violating the American constitution after he was alleged to have tried to pressure the Ukrainian leader to investigate corruption claims against the democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden as nukes conference in Washington miss pelo C. said Mr trump have clearly overstepped the mark this week the president has admitted to asking the president to crane to take actions which would benefit him politically the actions of the trump presidency revealed dishonorable fact of the president's betrayal of his oath of office betrayal of our national security and the trial of the integrity of our elections therefore today I am announcing the house of representatives moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry for his part the president took to Twitter denouncing the impeachment move as witch hunt garbage one Republican house minority leader Kevin McCarthy came to the president's defense saying it was time to put the put the public ahead of politics our job is to legislate not to continue to investigate something in the back when you cannot find any reason to impeach this president so what grants to the Democrats believe they have for impeachment I spoke to a Washington correspondents David Willis all of this relates of course to a telephone conversation in July between president trump and the newly elected president of the do you crate in which is claimed president trump put pressure on his Ukrainian counterpart to dig the does if you like on the other democratic rival Joe Biden it's a most hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to the Ukraine was being withheld at the time by the trump administration although president trump has been at pains to point out that there was nothing nefarious about that new suggestions any quid pro quo so this is the very beginning. of a process what's likely to happen next well what happens now is the six house committees that are investigating president trump already will continue to do so they will then dropped articles of impeachment which would be put to the house Judiciary Committee which will vote and that will be followed by a vote of the full house now senior Democrats say they hope the whole process will be complete by the end of the year whereupon it's possible that Donald Trump could be only the third president in U. S. history to be impeached you will only be removed from office however if there's a two thirds vote in favor of doing so in the Senate and the Senate is currently of course under Republican control and it should be said despite the being rumors of and talk of impeachment before the Democrats have been wary of it personally connected to that that that the likelihood of them getting that two thirds majority why do they think they can actually go for it now. well you're right the democratic leadership has been opposed to impeachment up to now up for fear that it could backfire and actually boost president trump's popularity amongst his base but such is the momentum that's been building over the last few days having reached a point where more than two thirds of the democratic caucus in the house is in favor of impeachment the leadership believing this to be an issue that the American people could understand on like the the the Russia probe decided that the Rubicon have been crossed as far as the president's behavior was concerned and such was the threat to the constitution posed by this president that they really had no option but to act the White House is expected to release a transcript of the telephone conversation between president trump and president the landscaping and house Democrats are expecting the whistle blowers complaint to be released as well so it could be quite a hectic day as far as the story is concerned as David Willis talking to be a little bit earlier on from Washington now the British prime minister Boris Johnson has cut short his visit to the U. N. in New York and is returning to London to face the biggest political crisis since he took office on Tuesday the Supreme Court ruled that the prime minister's decision to suspend the workings of the chamber was unlawful the judges said Boris Johnsons action have been designed to prevent parliament from doing its job in the run up to the U. K. shut your departure from the E. U. well speaking in New York Mister Johnson gave his reaction to the court's ruling let's be absolutely clear we respect the judiciary in our country we respect the records I I disagree profoundly with what they had to say I think he was entirely right Joe ahead with a plan for freedom of speech and frankly I just need to get on with rex that's what we do the British people whether they made it to the evil for me they want to get these things done by October the thirty plus when he's will return to parliament in just a few hours time so. after the legal and political drama of the last twenty four hours what's likely to happen next I spoke to a political correspondent Jessica Parker I mean what do we know if Boris Johnsons coming back from New York and the U. N. General Assembly he'll have to come back to Westminster and face the music we do you know Jacob Rees Mogg the leader of the house of Commons is going to lay out the business of the house only the time table for one that's going to happen over the next couple of days well we know the maintenance is the poem is gonna be sitting on Wednesday palm it's gonna be sitting on Thursday medical some Sunday you've got the Conservative Party conference beginning in terms what else will happen in the chamber I just think you're gonna see a loss of MPs he felt that they have been silenced by the suspension of parliament try to make an awful lot of noise not just on pressing the government about the prorogation of parliament in the likes of the Supreme Court ruling but I think I'll touch on other subjects to you they'll try and do that job holding the government to account to jump they feel they have been allowed to do over the past couple of weeks and some unhappy MPs there's been talk in the past of a vote of no confidence we think there's any potential for that to raise its head again there are some who don't pay for it because they say will force onsen should surely in the light of the Supreme Court ruling resign but if he's not going to then we need to force this government's out of office but I think there's also a base of hesitation. Coles all of this concern that for example if you brought the government down and couldn't form another government of so called national unity as some people call it across policy government could Boris Johnson and then be able to name the dates of an election and could he do this in a way that could seat parliament dissolved in the run up to the thirty first of October the brexit departure date and I think for some MPs.

"For seventeen days. Here, eat these mobs, shut up you'll be fine. I just want to update you on the story about this mountain lion that attacked Ford four year old boy town at the lowest opinion. Skip those canyon preserve the, the kid was with a group of about a dozen people in an area known as Carson's crossing when the cat attack yesterday afternoon. Witnesses said the boy's father hero, kick the big ole animal and through a rock to scare it away. And in fact, the, the dad was the only one who stuck around the other people in the group, they all took off. The kid was taken to the children's hospital injuries were not believed to be life-threatening recovering. His expected to be released soon. Three game wardens were sent into investigate and quickly found. What appeared to be the mountain lion? Tracks were later approached by an eighty pound female cat. And they said that it did not appear frightened by the humans. So they ended up. Giving him a reason or her a reason to be frightened of humans, and ended up killing it. So they're gonna take the, the body of the mount line in for DNA analysis to make sure, in fact, it was the, the animal that was responsible for the attack. They hope it was his if not, then they just killed a mountain lion. Didn't do anything tasty Tuesday on deck. Why we don't have a lot of options at Dodger Stadium in the culinary world. And also national hamburger day. We will bring you the hot hamburger deals Nielsen Veja joins us coming up next. On the Gary and Shannon show..

"I want to get back to that in just a second, but Lisa has been very patiently waiting on the phone. So let's talk to Lisa for second. Lisa. Welcome home. Hi, thank you, gene. Question from last week about air conditioning. Okay. About fresh air and air conditioning and heating. If you have a heat pump system since recirculated, fear. I think as you were saying, do you ever actually get fresh air? If you go to open the window as opposed to force their FAU system where the air comes in from outside doesn't that heat pumps, riche, keep recirculating. Okay. Now. That's a, that's a very interesting question. Because it's kind of, I think you've been a little misinformed. A forced air furnace situation essential air conditioning situation that has a forced air furnace versus a central air conditioning system that has a heat pump and heat pump, by the way, if you're gonna magic those of you who are familiar with the idea that you've got an air conditioner, and then, like a gas furnace also connected to the system. A heat pump eliminates the gas furnace and it basically become. Comes an air conditioning unit that can operate in reverse. And if you listen to yesterday's show, I actually attempted to explain how refrigeration works with gas expanding, and then condensing and it gets cold on one end and really hot on the other. And that's an air conditioner, an air conditioned that can reverse the direction of the pump can make it hot on one end inside the house and cold outside the house. So it becomes a heating system as well. That's what we call a heat pump. Neither one of those Lisa neither one is an outdoor air system. They are both completely recirculating indoor air neither one of those opens up the fresh air. No central refrigeration system has built into drawing from outside air. What it wants to because that would be counterproductive, what it wants to do takes the inside air inside the space and keeps recirculating. It heating it up a little bit more at a time. Time if you're heating or cooling, it down a little bit more each time at passes through if you're cooling, if you've got central air or central heat, and you want fresh air. You got open a window. Now, there are also houses that are being built these days with special ventilator fans that allow fresh air in. We don't see many of those in southern California. Most of those are being done back east further eastern homes or places where gets really, really cold because there's a way with basically those kinds of fresh air fans allow fresh air to come into the house without opening the house, up to the elements that are outside the oppressive elements that are outside. So it's a way of, like, you know, how oh we've been this, this house feels kind of stuffy, because it's been closed up and sealed up so much because it's been so cold outside. So that's what those things are for here. You know our our weather is so mild, even in the worst cases that we just throw up in the window. So that's the idea behind the system. They are both recirculating systems. And if you need fresh air got open a window. Thanks for your call. Lisa preciado it. All right. So. I talked to you about the cost of control, when it comes to controlling your costs for outdoor living. And I'm really speaking to you as a designer today. I just want you to get your head around this stuff. I this just food for thought. Okay. Just these are the kinds of things that can be game changing. If you're headed in the wrong direction if you're not fine. Okay. Perhaps the one thing inside us which threatens to make outdoor living, so expensive, and therefore discourages some people from even attempting to design their outdoors is this kind of innate need that we have control over the environment. And when I suggest to you that the great outdoors and Mirroring that outside your house. Like diner, Melinda kitchen, you know, taking the indoors and making it out. That, that's the definition of great outdoor living. That's very true. But with one important exception. When living outdoors, we have to have a dance with nature, but we always let her lead. Okay. Now we've learned this, you guys know, you've listened long enough to know that, you know, I'm a tree hugger, okay? Fine unapologetically but I think it's pretty obvious to anybody. I don't care what your politics and it's not about that. You know, we have spent nearly two million years being afraid of nature because she so powerful and she has tossed us around a great deal in the last hundred years, or so we've really kind of mastered, the ability to insulate ourselves from her, and then in our outdoor world our lives. We're like I'm tutton dirt not going to be any more bumpy roads. We are paving that in the next thing, you know, we are taking the lead. And when we take the lead over nature so far that has meant to killing her and making her suffer. So my theory about it is, we have to cooperate and collaborate with her outdoors, but we have to let her lead, otherwise, we find ourselves, especially when it comes to the practicality of building out your backyard experience, we find ourselves spending inordinate amounts of time and money. Civilizing the outdoors which is something we want to do to an extent. And if we over civilize it, even when we succeeded over civilising it all we end up cheating is insulating. Ourselves again, from nature's beauty and we end up with boring uniformity and predictability. So I just mean. I don't want you saying, do you just want us to leave the back yard alone? I thought you wanted us to design it. I do want you to design it, but I want you to design it differently than indoors in the sense of leaving some space for beauty, the beauty of imperfection the beauty of randomness, let her do some things the way she wants to do them. There is a concept. I think we're gonna end up doing a whole show on this at some point. Japanese design, concept, that, that very few of you have heard of it's called wabi Sabi. No, that is not something you order at the sushi restaurant. Wabi Sabi is this idea of embracing the beauty of imperfection and in permanence. There's this great tale. I'll tell it to you right now. Real quick. This the story of zen master who was in charge. He had all of his monks in charge of refurbishing an old temple, so they were hard at work, and they cleaned it up. And they scrubbed it down and they got it all. And then outside. Of course, you know, those beautiful then patterns in the sand. So they had it raked with parallel lines to perfection. And then the master came to visit the temple and inspect the work, and he saw absolute perfection all over these zen sand gardens, and he reached up and grabbed the branch of a maple tree. And he shook it until. Several leaves fell all over the beautifully raked sand and he said to his monks now. Now it is perfect. The imperfection of nature kind of raining on their parade. That's wabi Sabi that's allowing imperfection and impermanent to enter in seat. We get in our heads at we're just gonna pave all over, and we spend so much money trying to control nature outside instead of kind of working with I just want you to give that some thought, whether you're going too far there are ways to design without having to repave, the backyard. Okay. Inspiration is up next. We're going to talk to my buddy Nielsen Veja about his pool project, and we'll see where that whole thing goes as well. That's what's coming up. So stay tuned. "Eight eight six six nine. This is the Denver channel this is seven ABC. Of course, it was a shooting last night yesterday. I should say at a school in Denver about eight miles from Columbine one student dead eight injured there were two shooters. And I it was to Mel shooters, then it was one male suspect. And they're still putting out information about the second. The reporting now, and we don't use names here. Cording to Douglas county sheriff Tony spurlock juvenile and an adult in custody believed to be students at the school. So one of them was at least eighteen that's how you would say adult no other suspects in the case one of the suspects in eighteen year old senior who's a student at the school. No real. Background careless driving citation. That student has been identified. The other student. That's where the question is who is the other students, and what is it that we know about them? What is it that caused the bit of questioning about what it is that's going on? And and who was involved was it a man was it a woman that's still being figured out right now, they're still trying to make those determinations according to Ryan's Veja over daily wire they're saying. That the second student might have been someone involved in transitioning from female to male and the quote that's being given. I'm searching for the the quote here. Right. Wanna make sure that this is accurate? The sources said that the motive is Denver seven reports the motive of the alleged shooter's went beyond bullying and involved revenge and anger towards others at the school. And that at least one of the suspects was involved in legal and illegal drug use and had been in therapy. Three handguns a rifle recovered the rifle was not used in the shooting. They're going to be a series of questions. Here had the firearms. Who purchase them when were they purchased? Where were they kept the all those questions need to be asked? A revenge shooting. How often have we discussed, and we know this to be true? The lack of resiliency. In America's a problem, and is killing us, the lack of persistence, the lack of perseverance the lack of of resiliency. Is destroying us. Was giving this as a talk in public three or four years ago. Resiliency can save America. And it is why I so adamantly oppose and reject the idea that somehow if you use the wrong, pronoun, you're leading someone toward suicide. This has been a conversation where I live this conversation on the coast of the conversation the mid west conversation everywhere. High schools where the students are demanding extra protections for this group in that group, your high schoolers what do you even think you're demanding not mad at you just in high school, you're sixteen? You don't have a say adults have say you go to bath class. That's how it works. But I've had run ins I shouldn't say run-ins disagreements with people who want to say that if you were to miss gender or utilize the wrong thrown out for somebody who's transgendered. Well, you're just you know, they're very very prone to suicide and depression and your just leaving them down that path. No, you're not. And I say this to anybody who right now questioning their lives question their sexuality questioning the gender. I don't get involved in in. How you feel what I do tell you is that somebody else cannot make you feel better only you can. Only you can make you feel better about you and somebody utilizing the wrong pronoun cannot lead you to suicide that is a cop out. It is a law, and I will say to you directly nose to nose to your parents to your therapist to your doctor to your counselor or anybody else who claims to be advocating for you. Because they are not. Somebody who tells you that somebody else calling you a name responsible for the decisions you make that is not somebody advocating for you. That is somebody advocating against you. And it isn't just true of a case of somebody in the idea of gender. It's true in all things. Somebody who calls you a name is not somebody who was allowed to have power over you. If you allow them that is on you. This is the lesson. We have to teach without this lesson. How could you possibly go through life you go through life without some name? Call you name some short someone calling you fatty someone calling you this or that, or whatever, what are you kidding? You live in the real world. Some people are just jerks, and they'll call you a name what you do with that information. That is the difference. The adage of sticks and stones may break, my bones. But names will never hurt me is supposed to teach the very idea of walking right through the wall pay no attention to those people just keep on going. Keep on going. It is remarkable stuff. It really and truly is. This shooting was about revenge. That has to do with people who can't understand the world around the mechanic sept-, it it also has to do with the world where people been told they're always underfoot. Always under thumb always being oppressed. Always being repressed. Someone's always treating the bad someone's always treating them wrong. The person doesn't do everything you want them to do when you want them to do it. It's clearly somebody who is not treating you. Well. That's what the generations of taught. That's what cultures taught and that lesson is crap. Talk by garbage people who are on worthy. Of listening to this.

"His knowledge needing of his mind. He's got a two guys one of them Stevo Cortez. I don't know the other guy's name. And they're talking about Charlottesville because of Joe Biden's announcement video which is all focused on Charlottesville, which said was good politics. When we saw the video everybody's talking about Charlottesville. Why did President Trump say there are good people on both sides? Now, I've said this many times I want to make sure that I'm on the record. The president did call out the white nationalist. And did totally condemn them in that in that statement. But he boarded the conversation by talking about this idea of good people on both sides. There was a clear message. He should have given. He didn't give it. Is the president's racist. I don't think so he wasn't a racist. When he was getting awards like that. With Rosa Parks. He wasn't a racist. When he was taking those photos with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. He wasn't a racist. For all those years. He was building in New York. What there's a claim from the seventies. That one of his apartment complexes didn't rent people who were black, okay. Why hope they got that resolved? And I hope somebody who in charge of renting the people if that thing wasn't allowed was then fired did the edict come down from Donald Trump. Is this the argument, but hey, you own the company he might have to take the hit? That's their their big tie-in the president wanted to ban all Muslims. Therefore, he's a racist. First of all, it's Muslim and racist. I'll leave that somebody else to figure out, but I even oppose the idea of banning all Muslims. But if you tell me you're going to ban people from entering from countries that support terrorism. I'm totally fine. Oh, they happen to be Muslim majority countries. Why is that? That's what the curious person says me, I'm curious person. Tony cats. Tony cats today. Eight three three got Tony eight three three four six eight eight six six nine. On charlottesville. He booted it. I did it poorly. Then I thought the next day he did better than than he kept going. But I think that for the for the political left. This is just a good good talking point good punching point. And you take a look at what happened in Powell at the synagogue shooting. And of course, it's all it's it's the white terrorism. That's going on. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm getting some more of that coming up. We'll see whether or not that's the case. Because if that's what we're going to call it. We got a lot of things we now have to discuss. But Chris Cuomo right here having this conversation with Steve Cortez is on CNN. Of course. And I don't know who the guy is forgive me. I want you to your how he starts this conversation with this clip as put out by Ryan Veja for I've watched them in the streets protesting in different situations. Okay. There are certainly aspects of them that are true to cause. That is a good 'cause they want social Justice. They want whatever they want in that context you tiny. This happens. You tell me when that has ever happened with Neo Nazis with they've ever been doing good cause. And does not have good aims antiga wants power wants political power taken a through force. That's what anti all about. I mean, they are the. Brian not here to a spouse. Antifa or any group on the political sense? Like. Antiques is a violent organization of violence, people of communists. They're not antifascists. They are fascist. Well, Tony fascism's on the political, right and communism's on the political left. Okay. Whatever you say, whatever it is. You think you learned in your little college courts? My dear people. The difference between communism and fascism is the color of the uniform that is it is that you take different ideologies to extremes to get there. It is still total control of government. It is still the murdering of of your enemies by declaring them enemies. It is still the suppression of free speech. It's still discretion of free thought it is still violence for the sake of violence to get to your aims. Well, really not violence violence violence for your aims. They believe that the ends justify the means. So now, tell me the difference. The fit of the pants. The style of the boot. I'm sorry. We're all grownups here. And we're gonna talk like grown-ups here. There's no difference. There are also no good people in antifa. There are no good. Aims of antifa. This is moral equivocation by Chris Cuomo. He is wrong. We're not going to agree to disagree. I actually tweeted him. That that he's that..

"However, it depends on what happened. I the first thing that happened is fridge. Let me ask you a question is LeBron James not turning thirty five next season. What I'm what I'm looking for is the championship. Right. Right. And so what? And I didn't I didn't say don't make a trade. Right. What I said was the assets. The Lakers have I think they'd be accumulating. They're they're not just take the lottery pick joining and Ingram playing better. Just straight out. What are you saying just play it out played out with guys? Like, I'm saying that you can I'm saying that you can if you don't get somebody in fritzy you can make a trade and still have a bunch of young assets. Correct. That's that's what I'm saying. You can make a trade for a saw or for whatever maybe a player, we're not even talking about. And you're talking a lot faster and Veja uncomfortable already. When you start to do it made me feel like I was at the Oscar of it it out. It's the music, you know, they wrap up the wrap-up music at the Oscars really did as it made me self conscious. Like, oh was I not building my point vaudevillian Caja? I was like, oh, I thought it was built I thought it was building. My my point is I thought it was basically in a nutshell you're saying keep the young guys pick. I'm saying that you're that the whole you don't have to trade everything for any type of player you have a lot of young assets. And so that's the position that I would say, we're the Lakers, aren't it's not quite as dire straits. No another s over there, adding another asset. Yes, I agree. Now, we could break down those assets. I'd like to see Ingram finished that you don't have to like to see Ingram finish the season. This way, you have less critical be on Ingram since I. Up on that. I have not argued with you on his potential. I have argued with his potential next LeBron James and making a significant impact in winning ball games, which hasn't really changed all that much. His numbers have gone up. They haven't won anything yet one. They're five and thirteen in the last eighteen games mopped up anything. I've mopped up by being pro Ingram anti Ingram. Everybody. That's fake now. David Griffin to use. Okay. Do not. I'm not using that never is neither should you. Yes. I what I'm saying is I have I have been clear on the side of Ingram. Having a lot of all star potential in the future. And then David Griffin came on. And you're like, oh, well, David cares of Trudell Senate. I mean, no offense. It's not like your watches here. Every game in person that Ingram's played and watches every other young around the league. But you're not what I know. But you're also not a GM wanna championship. He has a different type of credibility. Yes. But you had micro ability in Ingram is also going back to Russel. Yeah. When I was the one defending his until I'm giving you the David Griffin on Brandon Ingram, actually. Doesn't even have total control of extremities yet. He's so long. He's got like that newborn dear lack, of course, strength for Kyrie Irving. Say that he thought he was defensively. Tough for him is a huge statement by kyri..
