Miranda Devine on How Hunter Biden Lost His Laptops

"Well we're talking about Hunter Biden losing all his property and he lost as far as we know three laptops the one we have that he dropped off at the macro picked up There was another one he left behind at his psychiatrist's home and that was kept in a safe And this third one that he talked about in a video that he made with a prostitute that he was engaged with at that point And he was just discussing how he'd been on this danger in Vegas He'd woken up in this penthouse apartment of penthouse hotel room that had this gorgeous swimming pool that was sort of out of the balcony And he woke up face down drowning basically And he came to and saw all these Russian these Russian drug dealers that he divided into the room were basically stealing all his stuff and they stole his laptop He's telling the prostitute about this sometime later and she's like oh well you know if they're going to do anything with it because no you don't understand My father is running for president and this could be a problem for me I could get blackmailed and I've got gazillions of dollars So he was aware at that point how he's you know losing all these laptops actually was significant in terms of his father's career But he didn't really seem to care And the point I always think of that when he dropped off that lap book in Delaware he ended up going to California He went back to shed over where it used to have a loose benders And he met the woman who's now his wife and he really never came back to leave on these coasts But he dropped that laptop off just a couple of weeks before his father This was April 2019 before his father announced that he was going to be president or going to run for president

"Years old. it's survivor from destiny's child and i will tell you why because i'm glad you asked. This album has some of the rock to that. Maybe you wouldn't expect me to be as a rock guitarist to be. You know jumping towards this particular album but the title track survivor. Which you've heard on the radio. A lot is a great fine crafted pop song with beyond say and and the team there providing that three part vocal delivery they do so well there was a it was a michael jackson tribute tv show. That came out in two thousand one when destiny's child was kind of a relatively new act and they did a live version of boot delicious. Which with real guitars at three guitar players and drummer and you know porn section. And they of course the beginning of that song has that stevie nicks edge of seventeen a guitar part that they lifted but they played it so raw. Live and i remember watching beyond say looking at michael jackson taunting in nevada to boot. Alicia vol bang right adam. And he's kind of taken aback. Oh beyond say it but it was. It was powerful. And all i can say is. I didn't have the album until i saw that particular cut of that special with destiny's child doing booty leashes and i thought this song pretty rock. It's it's a rock and song. Yes it's a dance song assets movement or whatever you want to say but there's a rock sensibility to it. That made me love the band and of course gone onto become a huge beyond say fan she just an amazing artist in totality. But this shows her some of her rock and best and if you followed her career at all you've seen like when she's done live shows vegas residencies whatever. She has a full band four guitars full. Everything and generally they're mostly female. She hires musicians to back her up on tour. So there's just too much not to like about this record survivor from destiny's child my number full

Bachelorette Parties (MM #3862)

"The mason minute. With Kevin mason. For the last few years, they've been telling us that Nashville was the number one destination for bachelorette parties in America. I spent a lot of time in Vegas, I spent a lot of time in New Orleans and horse been living here for about 15 years and I always knew more and more bachelorette parties were here. But over the weekend, it got confirmation of just how crazy it was. Friend of mine was in town to spend the weekend, so we went out grabbed dinner and then went over to her hotel and just going to hung out in the lobby area the atrium area, if you will, and just kind of chatted for a while, and every time we look at the door, another bachelorette party either on their way in or on their way out, I think in the time we were there, I saw maybe a half a dozen different bachelorette parties coming either in or out. Now maybe some duplicates, but I don't think so. But what amazed me? That was just one hotel. One of hundreds of hotels we have here in Nashville. And this one wasn't even located close to the downtown area to the lower Broadway area. The national is the hotspot. It is the its city, especially for bachelorettes, which is just something I don't understand the need to celebrate in the desire and well, I guess I've been married too long and that makes perfect sense.

Jon Gruden Resigns as Raiders Coach Over Decade-Old Offensive Emails

"John Gruden has always been kind of a wild child in the NFL always been a little bit of a loose cannon, if you will. And I believe he was also he was also the coach of the Oakland Raiders in like the 90s. And then he went to the Buccaneers and led them to the Super Bowl very complicated. But then he rejoined the Raiders in 2018 after he was an analyst on Monday Night Football. Do you remember those things he used to sit down with the quarterbacks? And it was like Gruden's corner. I've never been a big fan of Jon Gruden. I'll be very honest. One in 2002, that's right, my memory's not too bad. I'm not going to be an apologist for Jon Gruden. Okay? I'm sure he lives a complicated life like most people in the NFL. But this recent saga involving in his resignation slash termination is disgusting. And the national Football Association is in many different ways. In enterprise that is built on a House of Cards. The entire structure of how many of the teams are filed as nonprofits on how almost every stadium is built thanks to taxpayer dollars. There's a lot of corruption that exists in the national football, the National Football League. And so it came out a couple days ago that John Gruden is going to be fired, or it has to speak out for his racist and homophobic emails over ten years ago. And I shrugged my shoulders and I actually didn't know where this one was going to go. Because John Gruden signed a ten year 100 million dollar deal with the Oakland Raiders. And now so he technically resigned whatever he says, I have resigned as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. I love the Raiders and do not want to be distraction. Thank you to all the players coaches and staff and fan fans of raider nation. I'm sorry I never meant to hurt anyone, John Gruden. And so it was revealed in some of these emails. And based from what I've said, seen should have said something's probably not no, was he joking around in private in a context that none of us can understand? Yes. He incited Joe Biden, insulted Joe Biden I can't even say what he called Joe Biden on air. It's kind of hilarious. Called Roger Goodell, a certain name. I'm no fan of Roger Goodell. So if this whole thing is like a Roger Goodell, apology tour, but here's what really matters. Here's the question. In the National Football League, do they ever allow people to do bad things and continue to participate? Like murder. How about rate Ray Lewis and his legacy of the unsolved double murder? Or how about you remember this one? You remember ray rice, who literally punched his fiance in an elevator? It was an elevator, right? Which gained total notoriety following the indictment he was released by the ravens and suspended, and now rice would be reinstated after he successfully appealed the league's decision. And this whole thing with John Gruden is this question of should you be judged by things you have said in private ten years ago to destroy your current

The Daily Wire's Matt Walsh Discusses the Firing of Football Coach Jon Gruden

"Matt Walsh from the daily wire Welcome back to the show Thanks for taking the time with us today We appreciate it Hey Dan thanks for having me Yeah you got it So Matt this situation with Jon Gruden the Las Vegas Raiders coach You know is this the new standard You're one of the best commentators out there on the ongoing culture war against us which we didn't ask for by the way I mean is this the new standard you send an email ten years ago with some crappy language in it I mean really if all of us had our emails from the last ten years disclosed publicly I mean we'd all be fired and part two of the question if I may You know they have a M and M Matt performing at the halftime of the Super Bowl show What do you think his emails Yeah Eminem we don't have to look at his emails and we just look at the lyrics that a song these performed for the public and millions of dollars and same for Dr. Dre snoop dog they're all performing And they're going to perform some of those very songs where they use the language that John Gruden just got fired for using And that's why I agree with you I mean look any of the people who are pretending to be offended by John Green's email I would encourage any of them I challenge any of them to just publish their Gmail password and let us comb through it We'll keep it in your loan go back farther than that I promise But let us look through ten years of messages and give us your text messages to have you never in ten years said one message send one message with a content Of course that's not the case And that's why we have to understand what's happening here with Jon Gruden This is prosecuting by mob tribunal a thought crime This is the problem is the thought that he express it's almost no different Like if the canceled mom I've had the ability the technology to actually literally read your mind They would eagerly do it and they would cancel you for things you haven't even said out loud There's only one step removed from that and canceling someone for a private email sent from their private email account to a friend who was not offended by it I mean it's the definition of a victimless

I had to fucking most difficult time because they don't make colorful shift guys to me. That's what i'm saying. I'm shopping in the wrong place. Had heavy people two hundred and some people can. Everyone had color on and no one complained. Yeah alex had was places that do like dark solids solids. It goes with everything my wedding. And you can also brandon. Put on crazy pants because he didn't find a shirt that he loved so much out of control. Until i'm probably the only brian in the history of weddings. Said i encourage you to address me. Part and like the whole that whole thing but like the the traveling and the trying to find something aware we haven't done it in a while so actually having to go to a store and try on clothes. It's very relieving tomorrow. None of close. We've got into that. So the thing is is people say. Oh how fun. You're gonna find a vacation arrive later tonight tomorrow night. Thursday night friday. I get up i have one meeting with someone in a lunch and then it's work until friday night we go to bed. Wake up we have daytime stage. That i make a little shopping defending some shopping in we actually leave for the contracts even over and we catch a red eye flight. Back to one of my favorite part of you going to town with casinos where you walk out and you go. Yeah i want again you going to do with it. They just handed it to me. Money keeps coming. There's no time to go gambling and excited because we have. I are flying in on friday and we don't have thursday and we don't really have anything. I thought we were gonna have stuff to do. But we don't and so froggies. Lisa's flying and so we get to play a little bit little bit tomorrow. Froggy going shopping. I know that's exactly what that is. That's how cool she goes. How much what's my spend winning. Follow the but it's las vegas. There's so many other things to do. You could shop anywhere go. Hit the casino money on a new purse. Have you been to the crystal shops before. Okay i went with you. I'm a little offended though. Because i invited danielle lisa to come to dinner with being golly. Because we're going to go visit. Bobby flavors new restaurants there but see. I'm sorry hold on dame's wearing my new line from the roosevelt's not forget it. But here's the thing i really are hor- by the way. We only have one day to really play in vegas and i wanna go out and walk around and see things. I don't wanna be in a restaurant eating dinner. No offense no offense to bobby flay. But i love you scare. I also some of the other people that we invited our little hesitant because you do the order twelve things for everybody at the same time ball out and have a good time. And they're like i don't know if i can throw down that much money like scary. Wants to go out and have a five hundred dollar meal so if for one for six..

"A couple of weeks ago mountain west news bureau reporter. Nate heggie was standing on the edge of america's largest reservoir lake mead that straddles the arizona and nevada and it's massive more than one hundred miles long. Hundreds of feet deep and part of my job is to report on the growing water shortage in this area. Because let's face it much of this region is a straight up hot as hell desert. That's one way to put it and almost everyone in that desert gets their water from pretty much a single source the colorado river which is stretched thin these days. That river is where lake. Mead gets all of its water. It's the critical water source for millions of people. Living in seven states and cities like phoenix san diego and las vegas since the nineteen eighties lake mead and the colorado river at drying up because big reveal this is a desert a hot as hell desert right and climate change is definitely not helping things nor is the continued growth. Hordes of people are moving out west. And that's sucking lake mead dry and all this worries caldero rank. He's executive director of the base in water network and he focuses on water issues in the west. I'm i'm allowed mouth activist and these days. His loudmouth activism is focused on lake mead and the millions of people who are expected to move to nearby las vegas in the next few years. We can't go on with the status quo of just bulldozing the desert and squeezing as many people as possible and into those single family homes. This is the indicator from planet money. I'm darren woods. And i'm neat heggie. And this week we're talking about water in the west or the lack of it and today too fast moving trains that could collide that lack of water and explosive population growth support for npr and the following message. Come from usps. Your business is changing. Usps is changing with it. They're bringing small business. Solutions like fast reliable shipping nationwide more at usps dot com slash new routes the united states postal service priority. You this message comes from. Npr sponsor the capital. One saver card. You weren't unlimited four percent back on dining entertainment and popular streaming and three percent back at grocery stores capital one. What's in your wallet. Terms apply see capital one dot com for details. Las vegas is known as an oasis in the mojave desert. You fly above all these brown dry hot mountains but when you land in the city a palm trees lawns. That color emerald massive casinos also with big beautiful fountains and pools. But those big beautiful fountains and pools aren't actually very wasteful. The casinos are really conservative with their water. Cowering says they actually recycle a lot of it when i think of water waste in southern nevada. I'm not thinking of you know the tourists taking shower at the bellagio. After they just watched the fountain spit up and down outside. That's not what i'm thinking about. He's thinking about everybody else. That lives in las vegas and it's not about the water they use. It goes down the drain from showers or going to the bathroom. That's actually cleaned up recycled back into lake mead. What roaring is actually worried about is all the water. That's used outside on those green lawns or the golf courses or in gardens. You know that actually makes up about sixty percent of the water used in the city and it essentially evaporates so i asked him what he would do if we could anoint him king of las vegas and in charge of all water on day. One there would be no blades of grass. Left here are ip grass dead grass. No more in the city's actually pushed regulations that reduce the amount of grass and newly built home can have so no front yard only half. The backyard is grass. But you know that said. There are still a lot of existing lawns in las vegas. They'll probably be more of them. As the city keeps growing people love moving there right. Political leaders are so hungry to help. Las vegas grow that they're actually pushing federal legislation. That would sell off. Tens of thousands of acres of undeveloped public lands south of the city to build thousands of new homes for future residents. Maybe those new residents would want a nice organic garden or a patch of green grass. That of course means mobile usage. Yeah and obviously vegas isn't the only western city that's growing right like phoenix is getting bigger. They need more water saint george. Utah's growing they need more water and as we keep saying over and over again. There's only so much water in the west. These days i mean remember. Most of these towns are relying on this one shrinking river the colorado this brings us to the big economic principle known as the tragedy of the commons environmental economics. One a one. If you have a shared resource people will try to use as much of it as they can. The aren't necessarily bad actors right but they're just doing what's best for themselves taking a drink but as more and more people are developers. Take drink the water shrinks and roaring worries that people will start jostling for those last precious drips. you know. that's what makes us really scary is like. Are we setting up a situation in our country where one community is more important than other. So when isn't loses could emerge from the scenario. But eventually if all the colorado water disappears everyone loses in that case is government regulation needed. That's already happening. For instance all seven colorado river states each have a certain allocation of water. They're allowed to take each year and this year for the first time ever due to the drought that allocation was actually limited and southern nevada is already done a really good job of conserving. Water for instance. Las vegas has worked really really hard to reduce consumption among its residents and they actually chopped in half over the past two decades by changing rules and actually paying people to remove lines in creating these kinds of incentives. But much of the american west is a whole is still in love with its green lawns. They have to be eradicated. And like i hope that doesn't sound fascist but like having that green lawn goes against you know the nature of the mojave desert but these regulations take political will and not all state or local. Governments are on the same page for instance. There's this one small town oakley utah. They're actually imposing a construction moratorium on new homes. That would connect to the city's water supply because they just don't have enough water but in the same state you've got saint george utah one of the fastest growing cities in the country and they want to actually build a pipeline to suck more water from the colorado river so it's complicated because everyone from developers to political leaders to affordable housing advocates. They all say the same thing the whist is growing and if we shut the door stopped building we limit housing supply. Prices go up even more so cities continue to sprawl. In these dry. West and towns like phoenix. Salt lake city and boise. That helps solve housing affordability but it does not solve the water problem. And that's the crux of it roaring says if we do keep growing in these desert's we.

"Phoenix don't forget to rate and subscribe follow us and also shows at launched left. Today's very special guest is liz. Lammari on behalf of alan vega will be talking about his posthumous record. That was just released. Mutated alan vega is timeless time bandit of rock and roll and you may know from suicide but he so much more. We're going to really dig into the record and his art career and all good things music. Welcome to the show. So you co produced an unearthed. This record is outright. Alan and i met in the mid eighties after he was coming electric. Just a million dreams actually saturn strip which was an awesome album by rick. Okay sick but he was coming off of that. Mainstream major record label stint but he never let go of his roots. And when i met him he was still he guitar. Pedals and rhythm olivia machines. All jury raped on the floor at the gramercy park hotel and I was working as a lawyer on wall street but had always played drums in punk bands growing up in boston. Nazi into the rat back. The drinking age was eighteen. I'm like sixteen flying drones and vans and whatnot. But i didn't know suicide. Or alan vega one of the women that i worked with the law firm. Her brother was marked kocinscki. Coot who played guitar in the alan vega ban so she just said one day knowing that i was into music. Were picking up. Alan vega grammercy. We're going to the playdium. This big record release party for his latest albums that great so that night we met it was just an instant connection but fast forward in the interest of time roundabout eighty eight. I had been listening to alan with. Experimenting with sound is coming off electric. He's getting back to his roots. These kind of this whole deconstructing deconstructing music theory of notes and this kind of put it in context. He had gone to brooklyn college for art. Instead under ad reinhardt in tuesday he was amazing. Minimalist abstract painter who did a series of very famous black on black so to alan. It was the music equivalent of stripped down so there are no chord progressions. There are no keys everything is is based on what you feel and here and the idea of sound move it moving it movement of sound through rhythm and so he eventually said to me. Hey you're driver. Why don't we go into the studio together. And we can. Start working with some dissolve. These new affects machines Coming on the market and we could just start using those machines in the same way he was using the very stripped down old guitar pedals. So we went in and i had been recording and rehearsing with my band snub at a small Rehearsal studio in the east village called six eighth studio and the engineer there was super chill laid. Back guy herpin. Barnes energy and alan's would be a really good combination. Plus he was so chill that we came in and allen's whole ethos was you don't you really don't want to know how these machines are intended to be because we're not gonna use them that way anyway. These are not to affect acoustic instruments. These are these are generators of sound in of themselves and we're going to be pushing buttons and turning on and that's basically what we did starting juice avenue in the late eighties. How did that lead to mutate exactly or yes okay so we did a couple of additional power on and raytheon by this time. We were developing a following in europe. But we didn't have any. Us released but henry rollins was over on tour. Gets a copy of deuce avenues. Like this is so unique. Why is it not why you the people in the us are not getting exposed so he in one thousand nine hundred four came over to new york started a record label. He had already been doing this book publishing company. He had reached that he actually reached out to alan ninety two because he wanted listening to his lyrics on the suicide albums that he was familiar with this man must right. He must keep journals which showed up in their stacks and stacks. He wrote every night. So henry ended up doing the book. Critical nation do in like ninety four and from there. We started working with him on an album called. Do jiang prang. And in that instance perkin had some personal business. He was not in the studio. So we went to dessau recording studios and that was the first time that going into the studio was about recording a discreet album up until that point was really about just creating sound and every year or so i would say the allen. Let's pull you know. Like ten of these things. Cluster of a of a cohesive coal and put out a record so that we can go on tour and just kind of that was for me. That was part of the fun of it for allan. He would have been perfectly happy. Just keep creating tracks did not even releasing so there was a little push full so new. Tater had point in time. We are back at six studio recording the songs that would be communicator. And we actually had them. All done allen's process was also once we decided that we were gonna pull ten songs or however many would be fernanda. He would go into his notebooks and he would look through all his lyric. They weren't really lyrics his words and go into the recording studio and over like maybe one or two sessions literally record the entire album and would often be one. Performance was all in the performance. Sometimes i would say the son is into junk back into it again and it would do a completely different performance different lyrics i mean just as he never performed even with suicide. The never really performed the same songs the same way twice or even with the same lyrics. He was very much in the moment and really understand allen as creative being an artist He was he studied some existential philosophy. And and you know he was. He was a brilliant scientist and he was at brooklyn college to study astrophysics. But it was always drawing and the head of the art department happened to walk past a monday noodling in the library and said what is your major artists. That physics The art so he started taking our history and paint interesting. Really absorbed with the whole history of arkansas was always very interested in the history of music as well and in the depths of his his interest in knowledge of what kane before was pretty incredible. I considered myself to be fairly well. Educated person has been listening to talking to allen which he loved to do for hours about art history politics the world the universe so mutated so we had actually likely usually did finished all.

"I'm tending to Vega and this is the take away and now we turn to Georgia were on Tuesday voters spend hours waiting on long lines and dealing with equipment malfunctions and other indignities during the state's primary election and many of the worst voting scenarios disproportionately took place in communities of color Democrats and Republicans are blaming everything from new voting machines to the covert nineteen pandemic for the mass but Georgia's voting problems didn't start this week the state has a long history of voter suppression and that could mean voters will have an even tougher time casting their ballots later this summer as the state prepares for runoff elections in August and the presidential election in November helping us break all this down as tia Mitchell Washington correspondent with the Atlanta journal constitution thanks for joining us thank you for having me we saw essentially a mess across Georgia but it was concentrated in specific communities tell us about that discrepancy yes so roughly twenty of a hundred and fifty nine counties had issues but the most pronounced issues the longest line the longest wait we're in parts of Fulton and dekalb county so that's metro Atlanta's core counties those problems were mostly concentrated in in parts of those counties that are populated heavily by African Americans one of the concerns raised is that the problems did seem to be more heavily concentrated in African American communities although they were scattered throughout the state when you see these types of issues concentrated in a certain area we mention that both Democrats and Republicans are saying well this had to do with the pandemic this was about new voting technology what have you found so far that really led to these discrepancies tia well as you can imagine the eight J. sees really been on top of these issues for months you know in a lot of these things are worst case scenarios that counties the state and you know voting rights groups had predicted that being said there are no answers right now there are a myriad of factors that are being considered and there are investigations under way but there are no clear answers of exactly one thing that caused the breakdown there are probably many for example you mentioned the new voting machines and because of the pandemic the training was not allowed to be carried out in person training was limited because of the pandemic there were a lot of new workers you know your average poll worker it is a lot of times elderly people who've been doing it for ages well those folks are at high risk and didn't feel comfortable staff in the election and so there were not a lot of new poll workers even as recently as just the weekend prior to the election Fulton County was looking for volunteers at the polls so the lack of information the lack of training again the state of Georgia did try to encourage mail in voting to cut down on the lines but there were breakdowns even with that process Fulton County lost request so people never got ballots they Fulton County took a long time to process the ballots because they were overwhelmed by demand so they're just sold sold meant a you know social distancing that the polls played a part because you had to slow down the process so.

"One nibble closer to a more satisfying way of life, a healthier you and bite size bits of Ellie motivation. Now, let's dig in on the dish with Rebecca huff. Everyone welcome back today. I am talking to Jackie Vega, she is a registered Dietitian and the founder of the wellness solution website, and we are here today to talk about childhood nutrition and Jackie before we get started. Would you just tell us a little bit about what prompted you to build your website the wellness solution. I started a wellness solution because I love to share information, and it just seemed like one of the best things to do without getting involved in anything to complicate such as video. And it has just it's been that sounding board for me, whether or not I'm on. It often is another story because you're busy, mom, it takes a lot of time, but anytime things come up or questions come up by. I love to add things to it. So. What kind of information can people find on your website? What do you focus on the most? There's I. Feel like there's a good amount of everything that's fitness nutrition. Have some recipes there at a lot of tips on meal prepping and you're planning I love to go back to the older post that I have on there where I have some pictures of my kids when you're younger and really getting into how I have gotten them to try new things such as smoothies, and just you know my successes around that. Yeah, I agree I love that kind of thing. I have had my website for a while to I like to go back and look at some of those pictures actually even before I built my website of ahead a short period of time maybe two years where we were Ravi. Give me an idea. Like what kind of advice or tips do you have for parents who want their children to eat a well-balanced diet, but also want their children to lake. Enjoy be excited about food. I feel that you know one of well my background, starting in two thousand and thirteen, until just about early, two thousand and eighteen I was the meal plan developer and recipe curator at super healthy kids, so I had hundreds of families that I was Neil Planning poor, and they would come to me repressions, and just their struggles and I found that one of the biggest things was if they weren't actually planning. They weren't serving their kids the foods that they wanted to you. And naturally that fell into that dinner struggle, and sometimes even the breakfast struggle at it really. Did you really want you sit down, grab your favorite at a google. Docs something as simple as a piece of paper and a you know a pretty pencil and write out what it is that you're going to have any can be as simple as rating. Three to four meals out. Don't really have to dive in. At go any Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday and have to write out all the meals and snacks because that is overwhelming to begin with So you make your plan, get the kids involved and just to know what is going to be coming up for that. Next meal is going to be less stressful and you're not going to worry so much about. Or they didn't have a healthy breakfast that you will know that the next meal there's going to be green beans. There's going to be some. Red Potatoes and lean protein so just planning. Is Really one of the biggest steps towards making sure that you're getting those foods onto their plate. I can't agree more with that and I know that it can be overwhelming in the beginning especially for really busy MOMS, but. After you start doing it, then you kinda. Get Your groove in. You find that it actually saves you time, and it makes life easier, and the children are eating warning. Tristesse meal so I agree wholeheartedly. I think that's a really great tip so What do you think about children who are? will say particular. Of instead of that other PE- were that people sometimes use for their children but particular about certain foods or even children who have issues with foods touching on a play kind thing. What kind of advice do you have for MOMS and DADS in that type of situation? Yet. They do I am going to say that word. Most parents will come to me with they have a picky eater, and quite honestly that's just that's the word that they relate to in. That is okay myself and several of my colleagues we call them selective eaters, and just speaking from experience, my youngest, who is now twelve, he is my selective eater and quite frankly so's my husband. I'm dealing with both sides of the spectrum but I. I have found that starting out little. It's it will make it a little bit simpler to get our kids to try new foods for instance speaking from experience. And I believe I do have a photo of it on one of my older blog. Post I. would my husband. You should travel all the time so what we love to do was have a kind of dinner in a movie type of thing, so my kids and I would have dinner in front of TV. I know some people think that's bad. But this is just what works for us. We would have a movie. And before the movie, the three of US would get together and I believe my youngest was probably. I'm GONNA say he was three May. My daughter was five, so we would cut up some veggies. We'd cut up different fruits. I would have some Hamas metadata has always loved seafood, so we would have shrimp make a shrimp cocktail Pepper like a bunch of different types of little foods and make. something, we could just eat from, and we'd watch a movie, so it kind of took the stress off of me at the stress off of the kids, because I wasn't focusing on what in particular, they were eating or what they weren't eating I just knew that I was putting different varieties in front of them, and they could pick and choose what they wanted. I may try had something with protein. I had the veggies through I had some calcium Son Yogurt I just made sure I had different nutrients in not sounds wonderful. When car you gotTa have one of this and wonder. It really did keep that stress off. And then thinking about going back to being, you know doing small increments, simple things even with tacos. I would put little pieces of spinach in their tacos, cut up rob peppers and put it in their Taco in it. It's a combination foods, so they're not really. Takes that new flavor kind of away, and it gives them away to see. What are we putting in there? What is it? What color is it the texture sometimes they would cut it up themselves and that's the thing. They always would see what I was putting into their tacos or putting into their smoothie. Whether or not they liked it was another thing, but always trying something new, and always going back to the things that I had tried they didn't like. I, found that it was successful as well so it truly is. We have to put the food in front of him. That's going to be the first step and then leading them gradually. TRY IT and not getting upset when they don't like it. So now, my sign have this one story where he was at a friend's house a few years ago. and. They're having lunch together and I went to pick them up in. The MOM.

"Do have a best bet coming up from St Fezzet here in just a couple of moments, it is an NFL related best. Bet Your chance to make some coin on the national. Football League, but first I wanted to get your thoughts on this because I might be the only one who thinks this is a bigger deal than maybe some people are reporting on it, or at least discussing Sean Payton and I don't WanNa make accusations here, so I don't WanNa come on the air and say four certain that Sean. Payton was buckled when he was doing this interview. I have no idea whether he was drinking or. Or not, but he came out pretty strong on several subjects and Sean. Payton was on one, zero, five, seven, the fan in Baltimore, talking about the acquisition of Jameis Winston, signing James Winston and he went on to say that back in twenty fourteen that Lovey Smith, and the bucks took out all their starters, so they could lose week seventeen to the New Orleans saints so that they could end up with the number one pick so that they could draft Jameis Winston now if you go back and look at that game, new, Orleans or Tampa Bay was up twenty two seven. They had a thirteen point lead at the start of the fourth quarter and ended up. Twenty three to twenty. I mean. Call me crazy Fez, but if I'm finding out that a team is trying to throw a game. And I'm a sports better. Wouldn't that Piss you off if you had money on Tampa Bay. It's all about player performance evaluation Jonas. He got to see what you got with some of the backups, and frankly we've been seeing this in the NBA for a decade now so I think there's a big distinction between a team trying to lose versus a team juggling their lineup, and they lose because of it. I know that sounds to be similar, but I think there's a big differential between the. The two well, let me here's my theory as to what actually happened. This is what I think happened because. Sean Payton specifically said Lovey Smith took out all his starters. Here's what I think happened I think. I don't think lovey Smith wanted to do it. First of all I think. Lovey Smith was told by the front office. Take out your starters late in the game at some point so. So that, we can improve our odds of losing that football game and I think lovey. Smith went against everything that he knows about football competition, everything in his core and tank to the game late by taking the starters out, and then a year later got fired by the organization I. Think Lovey Smith was pissed off because he did everything for the organization when against everything inside of him as As far as competition goes, took his starters out of the game thinking I'm helping the organization at least they can help me. And a year later got fired for it, and they turn the keys over to dirt cutter I. Think Lovey Smith was pissed off about that felt like he got wronged and got duped by the organization, and that's why he told Sean Payton the story. That's my theory. Possible but lovey Smith has never been very much of a football coach and Tampa. Bay Did get Winston instead of Marietta show. It worked out better for them G's, and you're taking out. Lovey Smith to finish up the show. Good guy says all right, so speaking of Lovey Smith and Lovey Smith former team, and actually before we get your best bet here says you have a prediction when it comes to the NFL draft, I want you to just throw this out to everybody I'm not even going to respond to it I'm going to let it marinate for everybody's ears, and then we'll get into your best bet, so just go ahead within ten to fifteen years, the NFL will implement a. Lottery where they'll have the ping pong balls like the NBA, and you're not gonNA be guaranteed the number one pick with the worst record so ten to fifteen years. The NFL have a lottery that according to Steve Fez. Fez Best Bet Lovey Smith related his former team. The Chicago bears. What are you got? Chicago bears season when the bears are going to go under eight wins Jonas. The bears are overrated. They went eight eight last year and I. I hear the talk. Hey, foles could be an upgrade over trubisky. Shouldn't the bears win more than eight Games will possibly, but here's the problem Jonas the. The bears won eight games last year, but they really should have only one six. The bears had three fortunate wins because they got to play Detroit's backup. quarterbacks driscoll BLAU and week seventeen. The Vikings didn't play anyone. You talk about emptying the bench, and because of that the bears got three tainted winds on the bears under eight.

"On National Radio Mike God what else you got in the toolbox. Don't answer that all right. A game game number four game number four says five week one lines in the NFL that surprise you. What's game number four? All Right? My Las Vegas Raiders I have to talk about them going to be playing in allegiance. Stadium I drive by it almost every day Jonas their Ad Carolina the Linus, Peckham and I gotTa tell you. I really feel the raiders should be favored. Carolina's already rebuilding. They have a brand new coach and Matt Rule. Brand new quarterback in bridgewater. My feeling is that with Cova and with the Elimination of the OTA's limited practices. This is really going to put new coaches and new quarterbacks up against it, and because of that I favor the raiders. Do you agree Jonas Yeah I? I agree as well, too. I think Carolina's GonNa be overrated. I think it felt like Carolina. was kind of making it up this? This offseason like some of the moves if you're rebuilding, why are you making this move? And then going out and making this move? It's like they got rid of all their their veterans, but then they paid a bunch of money to bring in Teddy Bridgewater. And then they brought in quarterback from the, and it's like Oh, well, Matt Rules Connection with all these guys are great, but that doesn't equal out to success immediately and I think they're in one of the more difficult divisions in the NFL. Carolina's GonNa Struggle this upcoming season. Carolina season win number. Five Asa Las Vegas. Saying here's a team that clearly is going to be rebuilding the team with the lowest season when Jacksonville going to be a long year for the Jaguars at four and a half Jonas all right Steve Fezzet final one your fifth game. Five Games surprise you week one lines in the NFL. What's number? Five Green? Bay at Minnesota and Minnesota is laying three and a half and frankly Jonas. I think that most people and I agree think these teams are pretty close to equal and Minnesota's a really good homefield worth about three and a half so this line would make sense if there were fans but a big part of Minnesota's home field advantages. It's very noisy stadium there i. don't think there's going to be fans more than eighty percent. Chance that they'll. They'll just be token fans or no fans and attendance, and because of that I can't see how Minnesota should be favored by the three and a half. It should be more like two to two and a half. What the reduced home field advantage should be. Do you agree well I would disagree I like Minnesota in this game and I like him big here's. First of all. It's a one PM eastern time kickoff, and we know that favors kirk cousins because of his OCD, secondly Minnesota knows what it's like to kick out fans because they kicked out, Ragnar, their longtime mascot, a few years back, and he hasn't been allowed back in the building all right, so the fact that Minnesota's already setup themselves for understanding what it's like to lose at least one fan and a very. Very valuable fan at that I think Minnesota's accustomed to it. I like Minnesota big in that game. Yeah, Kirk cousins, when the game starting at one o'clock eastern. If you just did nothing but bet on Minnesota you cash two thirds of the time, if the starting time as anything other than one PM eastern the other team, their opponent caches two thirds of the time. Can it be that easy Jonas I know? Now that I picked Greenvale probably win by two touchdowns. So who knows all right.

"Get in the zone, autozone so. The Michael, Jordan last dance. Documentary Steve Fezzet has had all sorts of late years attached to it, and it comes in time in which people are trying to find something to talk about and so every single Sunday for five straight weeks there were different things hanging off the tree that p people could pull from the latest is the quote. Unquote flew game in which Michael Jordan said in the final episodes of the last dance that it actually was a pizza that he ordered, and he had gotten food poisoning from the pizza, and it wasn't exactly the flu game well as it turns out the man who claims to have made the pizza. For Michael Jordan, which was delivered to his room in Utah His name is Greg fight and he appeared on the Ben Maller show. He also appeared on the herd with Colin Cowherd, and he's made on on Fox sports radio, and of these Fox sports radio affiliates, and he's made the rounds in done some interviews, and he is saying that there was nothing done to the pizza. It was not intentionally poisoned because he in fact is a bulls fan. He made the pizza and even joked that he was gonna make sure that it was extra special. Before the pizza was sent out to Michael Jordan, and he didn't even know if it was for sure. Go into Jordan until he found out after the fact, here's why it doesn't matter whether or not. This was intentionally poisoned or not, just because he didn't intentionally poison, the pizza doesn't mean that it wasn't food. Poisoning I've had food poisoning before I had a sub sandwich from a sub sandwich chain. I'm not name names here because I. Don't want to out anybody. But I got food poisoning, and it was awful for about twenty four hours I was vomiting. Vomiting everywhere six, literally sick to my stomach I. Don't think that the guy behind the counter who made the sandwich intentionally tried to poison my food. He baby just had some bad products there so to me this whole well Michael, Jordan's not being honest about the pizza. Look just because the food was poisoned doesn't mean that it happened intentionally. It could have been bad ingredients. It was the end of the night I think it's much to do about nothing and more a more of an indictment on the lack of sports that we have to talk about. About this is even a story in my opinion, says yeah, I agree. Let's face it Jonas one. Do you think was the last pizza? They made in Utah in Salt Lake that night at eight o'clock pm, so ingredients sitting out for maybe two two hours two and a half hours so basic stregic. If you're GONNA eat late night, probably eat in Vegas not in Salt Lake and I. think that had more to do whether it was intent or not. I think we all knew that Jordan was indeed very very sick. Yeah, I just to me. Me What I when I'm seeing, some of the reactions and people are saying Oh man. We knew Michael is now. Listen Horace. Grant late into Michael, Jordan, and I've said from the START I think a lot of what we saw on this quote. Unquote documentary is an indicator that when you see a documentary, it's not exactly a documentary making a murderer that was cited towards one aspect of it whether it's you know if you want to go all the way back, and you WanNa, go to paradise lost, which was about the murders and Robin, Hood Hills. which which came out on HBO years and years ago. If you're getting a documentary, it doesn't mean that it's entirely accurate. It's just accurate to whatever that side of the argument wants to portray. So just because Jordan is saying these things as we're finding out, they're not exactly all one hundred percent truce. They're just stuff that he is putting into the documentary and people are running with it i. think we gotta calm down a maybe he was his food was poison, but it doesn't mean that it was done intentionally regardless. Did you have money on the? Flu, game, Steve Don't recall it's been too long. Yes, all right. It's a Steve. Jonas knocks in for RJ bell here on. "The take away I'm should be the best to filling in for ten Xena Vega before the break we were discussing the historical backdrop to Hanukkah and how Jewish immigrants adjusted to Christmas in the United States I'm speaking with Emma green from the Atlantic and Jonathan Sarna from Brandeis University Jonathan maybe you can talk to us a little bit more about efforts by Jews in the United States early on to adopt Christmas as a secular holiday do you think that Honecker could become secular in a similar way I think that there are many Jews who observe Hanukkah who do not view it as having deep religious content might even I have a hard time talking much about its history and in that sense it has grown secularized up but at the same time I'm very struck by how recent is that Hanukkah did move into the public square as as late as the nineteen fifties store windows did not have chronic cough even in New York and a you didn't see men no rest out on the streets that's really a development that begins in the nineteen seventies with the bod religious organization and they actually have several court cases in which they have to fight for the right to have a Hanukkah menorah in the public square that writers eventually confirmed by the Supreme Court which really says that the comic commando rock is in a way equivalent legally speaking to the Christmas tree if one can be in the public square the other can be in the public square in fact Jonathan I want to jump in here because I am a wrote about this decision and you found actually the Supreme Court treated Christmas trees in public a little bit differently than minorities in public is that right well one of the questions that was at stake here and there have been a series of cases about this issue is whether something like the need to be seen which we see and all sorts of public spaces is the equivalent of the menorah whether that can be in a government building or a government owned park and there's a a sort of differentiation here that the court uses or that legal thinking uses which is to say there's a difference between some sort of overtly religious symbol that seems to be an expression of what the government believes or supports verses these communal symbols that we now see ubiquitously even act you know a courthouse building or at a government administrative building you see that kind of a quality in equal weight given to something that shows a public expression of what these various groups in the United States celebrate at this time I feel like there's a lot of hand wringing over the commercialization of the holidays whether that's Christmas or Hanukkah how would you say that gift giving has or has ever been part of the tradition of Hanukkah one universal principle that I think guides Christmas and Hanukkah and maybe even holiday celebrations around this time for families that don't celebrate those two holidays is that we love consumer capitalism here in the United States and right now at this season we see from every corner stores and malls everyone trying to incentivize more and more gift giving and this is something that's lamented seasonally everyone trying to say these holidays have a deeper meaning about family or about faith not about gift giving but really in American culture we see that this all consuming force this incentive to buy stuff especially for your kids how has been able to take over these holidays so in some ways even though Hanukkah has been set apart as a separate holiday for separate people there really is a lot that's overlapping about Hanukkah and Christmas we've been talking mainly about what happens when a Jewish populations from other parts of the world first came to America and we're attempting to assimilate but are there other examples of people from other religions other faiths coming to America and sort of adapting their practices to the American Christmas culture Jonathan another example of this is what we've seen with the Wally as some thing on the festival of lights are celebrated in this season of the year and there are other groups I think that I have learned from Jews that you can simultaneously be part of the season and apart from it which is really what I think the Jewish community has tried to do over the last two decades am I feel like we've spent a lot of this conversation framing this as if only negative things have come out of the Christmas vacation of other holidays but what are the positive effects it's a good for all of us in the U. S. to share celebrations at this time of year you know I think the story of Christmas is a very American story in the sense that as we've been discussing it's become a shared celebration that has a lot of secular meaning and takes over our shopping malls in our streets but it's just as much of an American story to have different groups of people whether their ancestors came over as Jews in the nineteenth century to whether their parents and grandparents are recent immigrants from the seventies or eighties or nineties and I think that's such an American story because in some ways this is a country that's made up of people who come from all of these different places and traditions and who figure out their own spin on those traditions in the American context there's so much diversity here around this time of year he's the orthodox Christians who celebrate Christmas a few weeks later than Roman Catholics or Protestants in much of the United States you see Muslims who have figured out ways like going bowling or trying to avoid shopping malls of relating to the Christmas celebration and you have a lot of families who are both families so both Hanukkah and Christmas or Christmas and a little something else or Hanukkah and a little something else all of these stories to me are very much the American ness of this time of year people trying to figure out how their particular identity should be in relation to.
