Why are humpback whales getting stuck in rivers?
"Say the least as it's the first known instance of this happening. The first little these animals up to as much as twenty kilometers up a river up in the northern territory and USTRALIA dissipated pitchy here we're talking murky muddy waters and so when I first saw the picture of Humpback Whale, which is an oceanic spacey's in this murky water, it was something that was a phenomenal thing thought sydney-based marine scientist Vanessa at PIRATA. Now, two of the whales is thought have since swam back out to sea but at least one remains in the river and the worries if stranded in the shallow water, is it going to be able to get out? So the main reason that the probably in there is well, I should point out this has never happened before, but maybe one of the animals took. A wrong turn and ended up in this area thumbed back wiles generally in the Kimberley region, which is northwest of Australia H. and every year to breed and have their babies, and now say time to be hitting Beck South dant Antarctica where they're going to spend the summer fading. Let's hope that this one reminding while has the opportunity to do just that being a. Tidal River is rather different to being in the sea. So how might the whale be doing? Do you sound to to listen and to vocalise to talk about now this whale because in on Acre located may be reliant on visual cues. So simply having a little look around or trying to say where there's a space to soon that's that site side there's a whole. Number of things that would probably be going through this wiles mind and without ends Promo fighting it'll putting a human spin on it on show that this animal might be doing circles or at least on. Friday. There'll be a tame going up just to have another look at it just to say what it's doing and to see if it's made any progression in its movements. strumming is a real risk and up in the Northern Hemisphere Southampton University's Clive. Truman, told me why this is dangerous for a whale watch would want to be supporting with the weight of the organs and the way to the animal. So when it strands that can compress the lungs and undamaged into Logan's same time if a while is stuck and tide is coming in and out almost paradox. Can Drown because it can lift itself off of the the bite can then water can get into the blowhole and drown. So what tools to scientists have available to encourage twelve plus meet away? Oh, to do anything, there's a couple of examples that I could run through one being creating a physical barrier with farts. So the animal was simply move away with type in some cases that hasn't worked in the past where the animal is simply gone onto bites you could use acoustics such as banging on physically banging on vessels, which is really nice for a while some have suggested using kilowatt playback sounds, which is the Predator of the humpback whales but again, a Lotta, these are potentially guttering juice stress our. Expert, team will have to y out what options are potentially going to be put on the table to see if it's worth inducing these kinds of reactions to then have a favorable result, which would be the animal turning directions and heading out to say as the name of the river suggests the whale isn't the only thing in east alligator river. Clive again. It folktales of fantastic animals extremely intimidating, but probably not a risk to sixteen major adult humpback whale unless again the whale is stranded, and if the world is stranded and stuck than, you could imagine the talk dolls could pies an additional risk.

US banning use of WeChat, TikTok for national security
"All right. I'm sorry I didn't mean to be flip it but here's an example of what you're talking about Shannon. Possibly earlier than I expected the US Commerce Department announced the details of what qualifies for band transactions under the two executive orders affecting we chat and Tiktok I thought we wouldn't get until Sunday, but we got them today both we chat and Tiktok APPS will not be legal to distribute in the United States as of September twentieth. So APP stores will need to remove them just like apple decided to remove fortnight, they'll have to remove tiktok and we chat as we'll google play or. Any other APP store. Now, these executive orders can be rescinded if the Oracle deal is acceptable to the administration, keep an eye out. This isn't the final word but if condition stay as they are now that has to happen as of Sunday additionally on September twentieth taking payments through the we chat APP will be illegal. So stores in the US can't accept we chat that is often done for Chinese tourists to make it easier for them to pay. So that will not be allowed. For we chat in particular on September twentieth the US is forbidding the following any US company hosting any part of the we chat APP, a cdn service providing service to we chat any contracted transit or peering services doesn't mean that they can't transit the service but any agreement that says we'll give you peering as long as you give us peering back right or we'll. We'll give transit service if you pay us this much US companies can't. Do that anymore and any use of we check code in other APPS or services in the US. Lot Of folks think this is a first amendment violation because code is considered speech under a lot of precedents. But the idea here is stop clones to say, well, you can't just go take the we check code, put it in a different APP called something else under a different company. So you can't use the we check code in other services. This one's tricky. A dozen seemed mean we chat has to be actively blocked from the Internet. They're not asking ISP's block the we chat service they're slow down it means cdn's and transit providers can't work with ten cents on the we chat service, which would greatly reduce its reliability and availability possibly to make it almost useless. Those same prohibitions will not apply to tick Tock until November twelfth. So basically Oracle's got until November twelfth to get the deal done or tick tock becomes unusable as well. In summary As of September twentieth you won't be able to down the we chat download. We had dot from APPs stores in the US but if you have them already, you can keep them. They won't get security updates though. And we chat won't work very well but tick tock will still work as normal if you've got it until November twelfth. A couple other notes here, US Magistrate Judge Laura Bieler ruled Friday that she would not issue a preliminary injunction against this we chat order she previously had said she might be willing to because the original executive order issued in. August was a little vague but said, Friday hey. Now we have the details not vegas anymore. So. She says, this complaint is now moot. Further filings from the we at user alliance are expected to argue that it's not moot. We'll see if those come. Also instagram head at a Maseri tweeted that quote a US Tock Band would be quite bad for Instagram facebook and the Internet more broadly and in response Tiktok interim CEO Vanessa Pappas the head of tiktok in Santa Monica. Asked facebook and instagram quote publicly join our challenge and support our litigation in other words like fine. If you believe that we need your help. Of course, the president as of this recording has not yet issued his decision on the proposed deal for Oracle. It's expected at any moment oracle wants to become a trusted tech partner and minority owner in new us-based tech. Company. Owned by Bite Dance. The. Saga continues I imagine we might. Have this all solved by Monday but of course, then it's onto the next thing. How your feeling about this. Well Shannon I don't know about you but I am I was laid to the TIKTOK game but an enthusiastic TIKTOK USER I don't make stuff but I I watch other things and I really liked the APP and I'm not alone it's a very, very popular up and I can't really think of I've thought of I was trying to think of has this ever happened before some some time where there was something that I liked technology wise. That was then you kind of taken from me based on where I live a lot of other countries and regions in the world are very used to this I can't think of one I really can't. I can think of APPs or services that were available somewhere else and then they came to the US. Eventually, we're never did but not something that was sort of taken away. So I just wondered what the Creator Backlash all this is going to be like. There's a big creator backlash I. I'm sure that it's going to happen quite soon to like there's a lot of people that have that are creators on. TIKTOK. That had not diversified and just thinking of it from that Creator side there's a lot of people that are going to lose income just specifically with tiktok but also with we chat because we chat has always been. So internationally friendly where people can use it across borders. So there's a lot of like developers. There's a lot of companies that use we chat for business. So this is not only going to be hurting TIKTOK and we chat but. It's also going to be hurting the people that use it as well for their own businesses and I. Don't know if if this was considered when they decided to put in put this ban in place, and that's very very concerning not just because you know that that freedom of the Internet as I was mentioning earlier with the previous story but also from the whole income aspect of like at all times in in twenty twenty when we have a pandemic and they're going to remove the these applications because they're based in a different country and we're going to be losing the opportunities to conduct business because of that. Keep in mind folks when you're forming your opinion about this and I'm not telling you what opinion to have when I say this that. It is not against the rules for the United States to ban an APP we ban all kinds. Of APPS. There are APPs that we all agree should be gone child pornography fraud. Those kinds of APPS. What's at issue here is the administration is saying these two APPS are just as dangerous to our national security and to more personal data as a fraud APP and therefore yes, it's going to have fallout, but it's because they're dangerous apps like they pretend to give you something good but they're really. Supporting an enemy and we can't allow that seem that. That is the argument that is being made. And we can stay the same argument about a lot of social media platforms. I mean we we have American platforms that do dangerous things, but they are not under the supervision of the Chinese government. So there is a difference. It's a definitive difference and you can decide yes you want to think about it. I'm glad you added that comment that there needs to be a definitive difference. There needs to be proof and evidence. real quickly before we wrap this up yesterday, we reported that the Oracle deals term sheet would create a company called Tick Tock global based in the US with its own board of directors. We got a few more details on that term sheet axios llosa's INA freed has more detail saying the term sheet describes three boards. A board approved by the US government would oversee TIKTOK US and include a security director and an independent data security expert. With national security credentials, which is pretty much the description of a former CIA or NSA officials. So the US government would put a board to oversee the operations of tiktok in the US while Oracle would operate it. A security subcommittee of that board would be composed of US citizens with veto power over Tick Tock Global Security data privacy decisions in the US, and then there would be a board of directors independent of Bite dance over tiktok global. So Little more detail there for you to consider.

I actually started writing it on the twentieth of January two, thousand seventeen. It was the morning of Donald Trump's inauguration and I was so thrown by. I was quite frightened actually, or we were all very fearful about what was going to happen and everything all my values and everything I felt I stood for being threatened by this man to power. And I wanted to I couldn't articulate why I felt so nervous. And I wanted to really ground all where all those values came. and. So by looking back, I wasn't gonNA rush by myself a tool I just wanted to ground where it came from. So I started back with the birth of my father he was born nineteen eighteen. And roll the sort of serendipitous. It was exactly one hundred years before I started writing the book, and there were these mighty seismic changes back in one, thousand, nine, thousand, nine, hundred. I wanted to serve slot the family into a historical context as well. Because the both sets of grandparents came from different worlds didn't they? Yes. Nothing. That was one of the things that I was excited to investigate. My father's family was really quite educated and very good fun actually and very playful. They weren't in the grammar school boys and they all went to Cambridge. And they were ventures and travelers and extraordinary. My my mother's family was more of middle class but I was very interested about the class in England as well and how we've always felt as a family now, quite sort of class less than I wanted to find out where that came from because I think they were quite horrible to your mother, I yes. Well, she was sort of show. Girl you can imagine I mean they were they were slightly snobbish. My grandfather was a high court judge in he wasn't landed. He didn't have a stately home, but he rented one and they had lots of staff and long drive and they did shifting with the right people and let's say and then my mom turned up and she was on the stage and I think they would rather said. That they're blue eyed boy they're DEB's delight as they called him at fallen for this rather so crazy. Well. described it herself as a flippity Japan but. Anyhow it was a very enduring marriage and Utah wonderful stories of the courtship and all the rest of it. It's very beautifully done, and clearly they had a huge amount of affection for each other. And for their children, how would you characterize your childhood? Well, it was sort of heaven really the with very little cash. My father wasn't very successful barrister in he was slightly forced into it by his father and. One of the defining characteristics of all of us which is really was really interesting to sort of nail is that we're all dyslexic and both my parents are dyslexic. They just found schoolwork in academia very difficult and my poor father was sort of shoehorned into being a barrister and he shouldn't have been. So he was there was never much cash around but. They were just sort good fund, my parents and. They both been through the war and I, think life was just to you know they'd seen such terrible things experience really quite a lot of hardship and they just wanted to live for the joy of life again and they gave us that in bucket foles and just embraced all K- also adventure and people and everyone was welcome and we had very very happy childhood action. It sounds like this wonderful big messy household with just lots of lots and lots of animals the countryside I mean does sound so much fun. Tell me about your siblings then well, my brother was born in nineteen fifty and I wasn't born until nineteen, fifty nine, and then we have assisted in the middle. and. We've sort of space do and Richard Got Adhd and he was very very energetic and rather than sort of repressed him I think my parents soon realized that I mean in Heaven Forbid Kids nowadays would be on Ritalin or something and they set him challenges and so my earliest memories were keeping Richard Busy sending him off on on really long bike rides and really difficult things to keep him occupied for the day and lots of mealtimes. My sister just lovely to me and. I wanted to be held on Halloween because of the things. We teased relentlessly and there were lots of sort of games but. Missed quite interesting. Now in my mom's still alive, she's ninety six and I'm sure a lot of people listening to this all recognize this but we all still fall into type as if we're still ten years old. And we'll. We'll want Mommy's attention you know, and we'll still play all roles and it's it's possible.

Why Your Instagram Account Isn't Generating You Sales
"Committed to your success online. We've worked with them to a special offer just remarking school listeners. All you have to do is go to dream host dot com slash marking school to learn more and get your website online today. Welcome to another episode of Marketing School. I'm Eric. Su and I'm Neil Patel today. We're GONNA talk about why you're instagram account is in entering you any sale. So Neil, how many sales have you gone from INSTAGRAM's probably zero I'm trying to really recall I don't think I've made anything off of inscribe. So the first reason why usually don't generate sales as if you don't try to sell your Park Service, you won't generate any sales I don't ask people to buy from me, and if I did I would generate more sales. No Ma still you never ask you'll never receive and. That's one reason not just instagram. But why a lot of people don't generate sales the other thing too is they don't make their offers relevant to instagram audience like I mainly sell to BB companies. If all selling e commerce goods, it would be way easier to generate sales linked it on the flip side I've generated a ton of income sales from the. Target. Your offerings, maybe instagram isn't the right place is instagram at personal social networking. That's why I love it. I don't really use it to try to generate income from it, but you can. You just got to figure out what products service is right for your audience. Yeah. I think one woman to look at is Vanessa allow. So if you follow her on Instagram I, think it's La US Vanessa L A. U and you'll find that she sells this course called boss Graeme Academy and she integrates everything while everything goes back to that and it goes back to a program signing up for program so she. Sure, get sale sexy shares on her youtube channel as well. So similar to kneel get sales through linked in twitter has done really well for me. Facebook has actually done well for me as well. Youtube has actually done well for me too I'm assuming similar for you. Neil to me I'm like man on my instagram page I'm similar to Neil I, just like re purposing content and just teaching. But like the stuff they do when you look at their stories like these little millimeters, thirty stories, fifty stories today here's a new launch, right here's another lodge sign up for this. Here's a bunch of testimonials unlike. That's too exhausting for me. So I think it works is we aren't doing it because that's not exactly what we are pitching. Neil totally agree with you, and this is like look instagram isn't that hard to monetize. If you look at tight Lopez one of the best tragedies you just go live and then you push your audience to wherever you want and try to get them to buy products or services. So. The way I look at it is just tried the tactics that you already know that we're going live pushing your park services even impose your link url in your bio offering a special discount or promotion look at the proctor services that are appealing to the audience that you have. Make sure you're offering those. Constantly promote on a daily basis. Every time grant Cardona. Has a new fund. He
Eric Edgar Cooke Is The Night Caller
"In January of Nineteen Fifty, nine, twenty, eight year old Eric Cook was in pain. His face was in fresh scratches drawing even more attention to his recognizable harelips features. If anyone asked what happened, Cook blame the scratch marks on his eldest son who was developmentally handicapped while Cook blamed his son for his injuries. The true culprit was thirty-three-year-old Pnina Berkman when Cook attacked Panini in her apartment on January twenty ninth she fought back her long manicured nails gouged his face as she tried desperately to repel. In the end, it was a fight, Pennino couldn't win. She died under living room floor after cook ran from the flat. The city of Perth Austrailia was rocked by the shocking murder and leads quickly dried up cook left now, prints and DNA technology was too rudimentary to conclusively tiny one to the blood under Pineda's nails residents in the Wembley area reported seeing Prowler in the neighborhood on nights leading up to the attack but no one could give a clear description of the man so as. Long as he kept his head down, Cook was in the clear and that's just what he did for the next six months. Cook was relatively inactive but by August he couldn't control his urges any longer be eighth. He left his wife Sally at home with their children and set off into the shadows he ended up in the affluent area of Midland's the suburb was popular with students of the nearby university making it a prime target for cook who loved to Peek in windows at potential targets. One. Such student was seventeen year old Alex Don, who was spending the night alone at her sister's apartment as Alex slept twenty nine year old cook made his way around the building. Until he found an open window, it was too small and high to be an obvious entry point, which is probably why anyone neglected to close it. But Cook wasn't deterred once he managed to scramble through the window he rifled through Alex's purse taking what little money the nursing student had. But even as experienced and quiet as cook was the teen woke up panicking cook seized something heavy, perhaps a fire poker and Hit over the head knocking her out, not wanting to wait for the girl to wake up cook left the way he came in Alex was left alone until the next morning when friends arrived in rushed to the hospital in addition to a nasty Gash above her I Alex suffered a fractured skull and was left with a severe form of epilepsy that derailed her career aspirations and would affect her for the rest of her life. Not that Eric Cook had any cares about the woman who's life he just ruined by the time Alex finally left the hospital in September he'd already moved onto a fresh. Suburb. Full of new houses and clueless victims for the prolific cat burglar a few months. Later, his new favourite haunt was the wealthy neighborhood of Brookwood flats on an early visit to one building. He stole a key from the ground floor apartment of Betty Johnston then returned to burgle the place of few times. Betty's next door neighbor was twenty, two year old daughter, Jillian brewer and terrier designer. Jillian caught cooks I on one of his visits and he took pleasure watching through the window as the young woman had sex with her fiance. But watching evidently wasn't enough Vanessa's going to take over on. The psychology here, and throughout the episode please note Vanessa is not a licensed psychologist or a psychiatrist but she has done a lot of research for the show thanks Greg in a later assessment of his psychological development Dr Aaron. Samuel Ellis stated that Cook was sexually naive and afraid of women who might conceivably test his sexual adequacy. It's possible that this misguided fear or hatred of a sexually confident unmarried woman caused cooks thoughts to turn to violence. This theory aligns with cooks first murder victim Panini Berkman who had no qualms about having sex outside of wedlock and even had the gall to sleep naked.

New school year during pandemic brings new stresses for kids
"Back to school, some kiddos on the way back in the next 10 days or so it's going to be a school year. Unlike any other. We've got Vanessa Simpson with US behavioral health care manager at Children's health. Is this truly Vanessa? More stressful New school year for kids? I believe it is. I meet with a lot of students who share about anxiety that you mentioned about starting the new school year. Certainly, there's some level of anxiety on a typical new school year, just with new faces and new classes. But now we're adding the extra level of anxiety with Kogan, 19 and other precautions that need to be taken with that. So I have talked with a lot of students who have heightened anxiety, just worrying about their health, their families health, their teachers, health and just making sure that they're safe at school. Well, in that way. Children's health has a partnership with a ton of schools toe offer access to behavioral health. Clinicians tell us about this effort, what it entails, and how you guys kind of came up with it. We have a hell of behavioral health program and just like you said, we are partnering. With. I believe the exact number of old all across North Texas is 173 right now, with plans to grow and we started this program back in 2018. So we've been around for a few years now, and we started with just one school district. And so we have grown tremendously because of the need to serve the mental health of the youth Across T F W And so we have virtual count claims that we offer with the schools that we have a partnership with. For example, I can meet with students virtually while they're in class. We do 30 minute sessions once a week, and we helped students addressed the anxiety like we talked about amongst other mental health disorders as well, like depression, even just bullying. Things like that. Are you there struggling with because we've always been virtual. We've just been able to continue offering this programme in this service amongst the pandemic as well. The weather students are in school in person, or they're choosing to, particularly in school. Virtually we can offer this programme to them for support. What are some signs, especially if your kid's not saying it outwardly, that kiddo might be feeling anxious or stressed about school. That's a great question A lot of times. Students and kids. They may not have the words to express that they're feeling anxious, especially the younger kiddos. So with young kids, they may say that they have a stomachache. They may say that they're not feeling very well. They may come up with different excuses or reasons why they don't want to go to school and you as a parent, we know our kids best. And so if you know that that's out of there, norm, they're just playing from changes in their mood that are out of their norm. Or even if you're noticing just changes in eating and sleeping. That would be a sign for younger kids to think Maybe something's going on, and I want to open up that door for conversation about maybe if they're feeling anxious, that is Vanessa Simpson from Children's health. It's 12
TikTok CEO resigns amid U.S. pressure to sell popular app
"Has resigned. Kevin Mayor led the company for just three months. During that time, the Trump Administration had put a lot of pressure on the video sharing APP to cut ties with its owner in China. NPR's Bobby Allen reports. President Trump has issued two executive orders aimed at banning TIC TAC or forcing the APP to be purchased by an American company and talks are ongoing companies, including Microsoft and softwaremaker Oracle are discussing a possible acquisition. But now TIC Tac's chief executive, Kevin Mayor says he is quitting. In a letter to employees reviewed by NPR mayor said quote the political environment has sharply changed, He says he's thought about what the next phase of Tic Tac is going to look like, and it's not going to include him. He didn't say why. Beyond, citing upcoming structural changes to the company. Back in May, Tic Tac's US general manager, Vanessa Pappas, told NPR what she thought mayor would bring to Tic Tac after his time as a top streaming executive at Disney. Personally, I'm very excited to see Kevin Mayor joined. I think he brings the right level of global expertise to really guide our expansion. Now Pepe's herself will take the reins from mayor and it's during a moment the company itself describes as an existential crisis. The Trump Administration and TIC Tac are now locked in a legal battle over whether the White House can outright ban the app in the US over unproven fears that Chinese authorities can access Americans data. And Trump signed another order directing tick talk to sell off its U. S assets to an American company, citing unspecified national security concerns. In May. Pappas said the fears about it's Chinese parent company by dance, cooperating with the Chinese Communist Party are unfounded. From our U. S operations we manage and I personally oversee all of our content, moderation and operations and from a data perspective, we don't store any of our user data in China. We started in At the U. S and Singapore. In his letter, Mayor says tic tac employees and users should not be significantly affected by any structural reorganisation, and he suggested ownership issues will be resolved soon. Meanwhile, the millions of American teens making dance challenge and communiqu skit videos do not seem to be paying much attention. Bobby Allen. NPR NEWS SAN Francisco The president is

A Culture of Silence
"Hey welcome to the. podcast politics, race, and culture from a multi layered POC perspective I'm money. and. Joining us from Overland Ohio professor. Jeanette. Is Cultural anthropologist author and professor of Comparative American Studies at Oberlin College Hey Gino welcome to the show. Thank you so much for having me and thank you for being in Ohio. We need you and joining us from New Jersey. Also, very important state is Pam Gumbo spot mashes a veteran of foreign policy organizer and a senior political strategist. At the Working Families Party welcome. Pam. Thank you so much for inviting me. All right. So we are looking at a sad story, the story of Vanessa Gin. But we're going to put it into a larger context. Right? We hope everybody knows the story of. She's twenty year old specialist in the US Army who went missing from Fort Hood army base in Killeen Texas, which is about. Fifty minutes away from Austin. Right at the end of April. When many of us at least here in the east coast were in the throes of like pandemic insanity more than two months. Later, there was an extensive manhunt. Finally, there was a grassroots campaign led by let the women service members and veterans, and there was national each and the family was finally told that their daughters remains had been found with the backdrop of a global pandemic and you know this real. For Racial Justice long-held accusations have reemerged into the national spotlight around the military sexual violence in the military. Violence and how you protect yourself from other people who have guns and you're living on a base in the military and so many other intertwined injustices in systems that ultimately were responsible for says, disappearance and death. So Pam you've been actively involved in the campaign for justice for Vanessa is well is speaking out on these issues in fact, for years Gina You as an academic have written extensively about the military's relationships specifically with Latino and Latina communities. So gene, we're going to start with you talk about the significance of this case and what it's putting into the national spotlight from your perspective. Well, as you say, this is such a tragic set of circumstances that brings us here together but I think it's also really kind of an important opportunity to honor Vanessa's life and. Hannity, incredible activism, an extraordinary advocacy of her sisters, her younger sister Lupe and her other sister and her mother to bring this to national attention and I. Think. For me one of the things that. So extraordinary about this is that for some people, this is new that this is something that is surprising to people because I think for many people like Pam and others who are have been in the military know that issues of sexual violence and sexual harassment in the military have a long history. And Violence Against Latinos and the way that in social media and used media have framed this as femicide. We also know that this has a long history in our communities alongside history and our communities. So for me, this is a real opportunity to draw attention to things that we don't want to pay attention to enter really hold our elected officials accountable to addressing these longstanding problems that have is incredible impact. On Latina's and women's lives and on their families and communities that they have sworn to protect and that they have enlisted in the military to try to protect, and so I see this as a tragedy that is also a real opportunity. Pam Do you see it the same way tragedy? That's an opportunity from your perspective as somebody who served in the military what stands out about the importance of this case I. Will tell you. I. Organized Around Pretty Heavy topic sprayed ending wars, militarism violence holding the department, of Defense, accountable and when I heard about the disappearance, right because we can't forget that she was disappeared choose disappeared for months and I learned about it through Spanish language media and social media networks not through the English. Media networks and the sowed and devastating part is that Vanessa is one of thousands on thousands. And I think the social media explosion that happened with Vanessa that Hashtag shows you how prevalent this is what is different however, I do think that we are in a reckoning moment in this country where everyday people are no longer satisfied with hypocrisies. Yeah and what greater of hypocrisy than the daughter of an immigrant joining the military to give her life for what rate what caught my ear when I heard. Gloria. Vanessa. Ganz immigrant mother on the Spanish language news. She was very clear about what was happening. She said me e my daughter told me that she was being sexually harassed by a superior right and nothing was done. There was little to no urgency. has also done what often doesn't happen, which is she has not treated the military the Department of Defense generals she has not treated them with blind allegiance or ability. She has said I don't care that I'm a working class, Latina you're going to respect me and you're going to give me answers which is different right and I think that blind allegiance we'll get into it but blind allegiance to the. Institutions have really lead US astray and not had any accountability for

Heard of more cases of this happening, but for some reason this case in particular just hit US extra hard. I think it's the fact that you get to see the raw motion. Her family and her family clearly loves her, and it's actually very rare that you hear of a family so outspoken. That's doing going about it in the right way. They're taking the best possible to try and bring justice in this may actually change and reform policies in the future and not Switzerland powerful empowering impactful about this. Is True. So currently, the only loosened on this as a potential cover up from Fort Hood, yeah like what the hell with the car crash the car crash. The suicide I mean I guess time will tell on that loosens. Vanessa gant's family and her attorney. Even even Tulsi Gabbard said it was a cover up. Oh, yes, she's all about the you know I bet you. Don't think it was I think it was just he the moment he got pissed and attacked her bludgeoned her to death, and then he got her out, but here's my question, and if anyone knows the answer to this, because no matter how hard I tried I can't find the information. Vanessa. says. There was a cover up with the military in Fort Hood that they went multiple times to the base that the military Ford. Hundred particular has not been forthright. They have not been honest and they have not been helpful that they had been withholding information, and they've been very dismissive very dismissive because they don't want bad press. No, they don't so. Here's my question. If you bludgeon someone to death with a hammer. You're going to have a considerable amount of blood splutter. Amount and becomes more like a spray. Especially, if you're hitting them with a capacity and blossom to kill them, so my question is. How did armory get cleaned up? You know that's a really good question. No one I mean I'm not in the military to people frequently come in and out of the armory, like that wasn't a quick job of killing someone and then cleaning everything up, and then having to put her body in a Pelican case, so and so forth I've seen rumors even as of this morning on Vice I believe that there is a potential third suspect. I have seen that floating around actually early on that, there may have been a third suspect. It would make sense. A lot of traffic that goes through the arm rail all the time on basis because you people taking inventory, it's extremely important to know where your guns are right right? You're grenades are aware this. Is this not as okay so you don't want anything to go on account for you have military police, I believe correct me if I'm wrong. I believe you have military place I also take inventory right, and you have people who do fire garden stuff like that that go through, and you also have the the repair people generics. He's an engineer. He's there and you have all these lockers and you have a lot of maintenance that. That takes place. It just makes absolutely no sense to me from what I've heard I've spoken with a few friends who are in the military multiple who were in the air force, a couple who are in the army, and from what I've heard. The armory has a considerable amount of traffic, so either he works at the speed of lights, or there was another person assisting him, so I'm very curious to keep up with this news that there is a potential as of this morning. Even that there there's a third suspect and this that has not yet been arrested though right and here's what's really interesting to me as the. So, Vanessa Ganz Bus frond wanted the memorial service because there was a memorial service was held for like a vigil, those hold for her and her sister, her friend was very vocal about the sexual abuse. Don't know she actually to be almost yeah in my favorite part is at the army came out and you know because this has turned definitely into an Hashtag again with. "What's it like to be with us today? When I was talking about it felt really intense, and then when you reflected back to me like. Like validated that I guess now I feel like it's like saddled. Okay? I mean. What do you make of that? Way We that formation. I don't know. How long you have. In your marriage in your life in? Anyone see that I'm hurting. and. Again like your your system responding with a release when you felt seen Yeah I think like. Like when I was really struggling as part of I almost had the sense of like well, if no one can see me suffering the maybe I'm not actually. Suffering, Lake. Like sort of invalidating my own feelings, and like it must not be that bad if nobody else like if nobody's helping me like. Maybe it's not that bad of. I'm thinking about like specifically. The gift felt like it should be you really obvious to him and then like well. Maybe I'm not so bad because if nobody's noticing I duNno. How I think your. House in like. Let's stay with firm. I mean what other choices would you have? Louder. Like oh maybe. Maybe just need to pull it with straps by making this up. Just to get through SORTA thing yeah yeah. And I I'm getting flashes of when I saw the two of you last, and you were using your voice in a way that you didn't know how to, then like I hurting. You didn't see me pay attention. I'm not invisible anymore. Not GonNa let pain be invisible anymore like it really was a survival mechanism to self silence not. Because anytime were trying to bring up how he's feeling like he would just shut down, so I can like. It was just more. To to bring stuff like you said I didn't have a choice. Yeah her. We could say that You didn't know how to do that when you know how do now. I really believe you were doing the best job code. And that. Maybe, that looks different now. To, let's go back just for a moment to sadness, and then you feeling validated and it kind of startling. Let's there now. I think the sadness is. Still there, but less so. It's holding it with in this sort of like good feeling of like. How I've been feeling overall, and then there's like this sadnesses well, so it was kind of like this both thing. To start. What told? You see my leg. Allow face. Why am I? Why might my face emerging in this moment? Because I feel to feelings of. Yeah. Yeah Wow. I have so much joy listening to this moment again. I can't separate myself from. From all of this in and pride and gratitude for the work that we've done. I only wish she could hear all of the steps that Vanessa took to get to this moment. Where there was so much anxiety there in the way that it was hard for her to drop into almost any feeling it all. And then after we were able to start feeling together. It seemed like the sadness would never end. There was just this bottomless pit of pain. And then after that she started to develop the skill to hold multiple feelings at the same time. From not being able to feel at all to be able to hold this complex landscape within her. But you hear in what happens next that it's really hard for her to stay there. We've worked together to help identify the joy in particular is hard for her to stay with, and so this thing pops up as soon as she's feeling joy that tries to take her away from it. It's a way that she's protected herself in the past, but like with lots of things that we did in the past they carry on into the present, and they eclipse or try to take away some of these most beautiful moments from us. It's hard for her to stay there and she leaves. It starts to tell me about when her husband goes back to work. In is already worried about when this feeling is going to shift. There's also this sort of like. Oh can this last? Okay okay good so. What is that protecting you from? In this moment figure that is a defensive strategy. That's helping you in some way. How how is that helping you right now to go? They're. kind of like protective. Like well, don't feel too good now because it's just GonNa get. Worse later, yeah, is it telling you that was the logic with that like? It'll hurt worse if I let myself feel this or you just settle hurt at all. Yeah, I guess the higher you go. To Fall, and I don't think logically believe none but. It's an old story. Yeah, somewhere in there. Yeah, I can't say that. All feel like depleted and exhausted again, but I might okay right so I have a curiosity. My wondering is if that that defensive strategy of like. Oh. You know he's not GonNa last forever. Sort of thing if that. If that was about the. Feeling that you're having right now, or if it was more about you feeling my pride, my delight in you in some ways. Cuisine protecting you from taking in how I feel about you. Oh, maybe or was it more about? This general state..

"Vanessa from the dot com before someone else takes it, and he was just really supportive and then. Yeah. And you know, but whenever I'm in like a relationship he understands, and I understand whatever he's an a relationship that the texting is not frequent or almost stops completely. And there's no there's no hard feelings. There. Don't you? Find though it's easier to move on from break-up, if you hate the other person, I know. But that's that's yes. That. But no like, okay. Let's say Jared you or hey, let's say I break up with this guy that I'm dating now because you guys aren't gauge out any wanna put that bad juju on you. And Ashley, let's say the guy that. Yeah. No badge. So let's the guy I'm dating now breaks up with me to be so much easier for me to like hate his guts in order to just like total think all the bad things that he's done or turn turn off. All the good stuff that that has happened in our relationship in order to move on just like like on better off without him. But I want it. And that's like the old me. And I'm really honest about this. But it's so much healthier for you in order to appreciate the person for the positives that they've given you and I just find out. Yes. And no because I want to break up in my early twenties with somebody that was doing for very long time, who's the most wonderful person. And there's no reason for the break-up it just felt like it's time to go our separate ways and. It took honestly probably about eight months between the time that we broke up to really cut it off. Because there wasn't any reason for each other to hate one another it was just the feelings were there as strong as they used to be and we're growing apart, and we were going in two different directions. And I found at that time other people going through breakup where they had a reason to hate that person. They're breaking up with and it was so much easier for them to move on. And for me because I didn't hate this person. I truly loved them as Yoon being, but I just don't think I was in love with them anymore. So is this this long horrible exhausting break-up that ended up taking like eight months to finally really cut the cord because you wanna just sugarcoat around everything. So funny that you mentioned so breakup and heartbreak, and I was reading this article. And I wanted to find out am switching articles now. But I'll want to find out. Why women I feel like women suffer from our break. More than men. And I was trying to figure out why that was and why I was always hopeless romantic, and I still am why I always picture this like romantic life that I was going to have with this guy who was just going to sweep me off my feet, and it was it was never gonna be any red flags and life would have been perfect. And then I'm like, all these freaking Disney movies. I used to watch where Cinderella or the sleeping beauty or whoever. Like, it's always.

"Well, I guess Vanessa my question to you is how am miss going some bad. How important is love because I'm sure you could probably say I let you know, I'm assuming you have to show in love with Nick, and it obviously didn't work out and you'll have to speak into details. But it's interesting as an overall scope of like, well, what's the most important thing is that? Well, are we on the same page about kids or we on the same page about where we're gonna live not just with your relationship with Nick? But just for everybody out there. Like the ranking where does love rank is it number one? Is it the most important thing over everything I think compatibility eagles strong love, and Nick and I were in love with each. Other. Once we got engaged. I think it was a moment of realizing like, oh, sh we are so different meaning get a chance to realize this while we're filming because you're living in the moment. Kind of like long distance relationships where always the high because whenever each other than so long, and I know that I love relationship. But of course, like it takes a longer period of contrary to get to know person. If you're seeing them once a month or whatever and for us like we did love each other. And we realized how different we were. And we took we needed to we communicated about it. We went to couples therapy. And then we start to realize there's certain things that we're not willing to compromise on which which are core values, which NATO who were would also bombs on how we weren't going to able to be at happy and authentically ourselves into relationship in order to board. And it was a it was so hard making that decision. The number panic attacks. I had I remember like one we're lying in bed. He went to the gym. And I woke up in the he wasn't in the bed next to me. And I will Cup like. Therapy crime like were you, and I couldn't I knew that. It was like the beginning stages of the relationship making its way to an end. And so it was a prophet that we have to take together and realize that it was something that we want it. And I think it was so beautiful at the end when we finally moved at each other. We love each other. But it's just not it's not gonna work. And so oftentimes when people do break is one person who wants out and the other person is stuck in the bargaining phase of a break up and wanting to get him back without realizing like, oh, wait, we're really want some wants out alternately. You're not really meant to be together. Right. Yeah. It really doesn't. Is it is it unfair for somebody in a relationship to have second guessing, everybody has second guessing, I think that's just a matter of psychology. Well, like say say, you're in a relationship with someone and they're like, I'm thinking about breaking up because I don't know if it's working is that does that define somebody as being out of the relationship, or is it possibly maybe they're having doubts. Yeah. No doubting is fine. But I think if someone has made their decision in saying, I don't want to be with you anymore to me. That's the ultimate insult. And I'm the Queen of getting my heartbroken 'cause I literally will crime is out if a guy like end something after week, and I'm like, but that's just because my eagles, Bruce, right? Of course. So at the end of the day, I think it's someone doesn't want to be with you. Then that's not someone that's gonna stick by us through harder times in life. And that's not someone that you should want to fit your future with right? Don't really take that much work. I mean, you hear people go. Oh my God. It's work. But we do it every day. No relationships. Take commitment when it's that much work. You know, it's not gonna work. No true. And you're right. Like there. It is. Okay. For someone to doubt something but not okay? For someone to completely say, I'm out of the relationship. But you know, one thing Vanessa and Susan that you don't have to doubt or guess on. That's twenty three and me. Oh, I know. It's your favorite. It is your absolute favorite..

"I was totally relaxed common excited for my date. And throughout the day does confident at a great time. I felt so comfortable with everything that was happening was fantastic. We have another data plan this weekend. Thank you so much for having a place to talk about things that are awkward or uncomfortable that we don't always want to address and sharing those discussions with us, huge fan of all three of you, including Vanessa. That's very sweet. Thank you so much Kaelin. That is very sweet. And Whitney has a question, right? Sorry, we can't talk about if it didn't say including Vanessa. I thought that those. Oh, just saying the three of you studio, ranked two in Vanessa. Redgrave Whitney met a guide a wedding couple of years ago totally hit it off. Nothing physical happen, but we exchanged phone numbers at the time. We were long. Distance. He was cog. Oh, and I was in Minneapolis, but we did hang out if you times and visited. We talked for seven months after I just moved to Chicago for a job. Since I've arrived, he's initiated more conversations and outings in one on one dates and in groups, he helped me do random stuff around my condo. He's been very present. I don't feel like I'm in the friend zone, but he's also not straight up, asking me on a date or made a move, but am I missing help? I super duper suck at dating, Winnie. I don't think you super-duper suck Dana. I think he might suck a little bit geyser guys saw. We're just afraid to step up. S it's really true. We're just like you ever seen that episode of boy meets world where Eric was up on stage and he's like, since the beginning of time men have been stupid, and then he's like, this is to make up for it. And then all the guys come on and dance. This is how I feel about guys. We just like we continue to mess up time after time. And maybe this guy is just really afraid to ask you out, but he's always like lingering around hoping that something might happen. The challenging thing for a guy sometimes too is, and I think Tanya, I have. We discussed this a little. What is your spent all this time, building rapport with someone, but that report is purely friend friendly, and then it's hard to break through that wall of going from friends to romantic because you have such a strong foundation as friends, and it's like, okay, then it's going to be awkward if maybe I'll ask her out, maybe she'll say, no. And then maybe like the friendship is jeopardised at that point to who cares? What do we need somebody friends? I've never understood that argument. I hate friends. Friends help. I look at data just don't get the. I don't know why you need so many friends of the text that you don't want to ruin the friendship ruin it. If you have those feelings kind of ruined anyway, great friends for the rest of your life. My thing is that when I'm older as we've talked about before, and so back in the day you hated asking people out because it's you get nervous and you wanna throw up and you're putting yourself out there on your frayed of rejection. We didn't have a choice though. Nowadays, it seems you have a choice because you can just swipe swipe swipe and do all this other stuff. They don't really have to ask anybody out and you're going group dates and you just casual, or maybe just gotten worse and worse and worse over the years. But it seemed like no guys wanna step up. I think he's interested. I didn't. There's no other reason for him to be always around it always doing stuff for you and hanging out at your condo and they've hung out in groups. He's helped her ability to ask who out the guy or the girl. Can she just ask him out? I love the idea of her just saying, hey, can we go on a day like that? Modern woman. I go for it. I agree. I say gopher to, he's not really stepping. But he's always around. So there's probably some sort of interest there. There's got to be. And so, yeah, windy, I'd suggest asking him out. It exactly what's the worst that can happen more..

"So I wonder if there might be a good idea talking to somebody might be a good idea, but his jealousy that level, which I have experienced on both sides. I've been that guy that super jealous and experience the other way too. It really, it's just a poison. Anything you can do to kind of tamp that down, I think is going to be good for you and your future with this person or whoever it may be. Do you ever always kind of go back and forth on this? Whether jealousy is good or bad thing? I think it's good extent. Right. Okay. So it's a little bit. So my thing is I've been relationships where I have zero jealousy, don't care what the other person does in terms of like saying whoever else, but then I'm always like, do I might not jealous because I just don't care enough. And then I've been relationships where I'm insanely jealous and every time the girl that I'm dating goes out, whether it's with guys girls, I'm like, like, kind of see myself. You're being credibly, unreasonable and jealous right now, but I think it just because I had stronger feelings for that person. And so that's kind of where like you're jealous because you care. And I've been situation where I wasn't jealous back. Did I ever really care them? You know what I mean? Vanessa, what are your thoughts. I think the more you're into someone, the more invested you are in the relationship, and there's certain things that either a always say this. I remember once I was broken up with my aunt told me something that stuck with me and I'm like, I can't find his person that eight will not bring out my insecurities. Of course, we all enter relationship with our passing thirties, past hurts and things that have gone in in things that have happened in our past relationships. And I think it's important to find someone that's not gonna bring those insecurities up, you know. But I think a little bit of dollars, not even jealousy a little bit of playful like, oh, right, you're going out that group tonight. Like just court cases and not harmful to the relationship, I think is healthy. It's all about balance. I think that you need a little jealousy, new relationship because I've heard about couples breaking up because like. One party is like, they never get jealous. I hang out. It's like they don't care. So you ever want your significant other to that. You don't care. So little bit of jealousy is good, but you also don't wanna be the guy punching the wall saying you hang out with this guy when to you know, cousin. I know my wife would never cheat on me, and a lot of I've been told that's naive for any south that about their spouse, but I really know that you never ever would not a jealous person in my current, my current marriage and my marriage. But when we're out maybe a wedding reception a bar or something, and I see a guy come up with talking to her. Excuse me, we not do this right now. Ring finger lakes that when I kinda step with those that so sexy divan dating comes up, like kind of interferes with the conversation or like, you know, like a comment on my key..

She's twenty one. Yeah. Okay. I'm fine. I get it Dinelli's coming up on a year with a guy, and she's in love, and she sees have a happy, but her anxiety is causing some problems in her relationship. She's bad experience in the past and she and her anxiety really kicks in when he says he went with particular friend group because there's girls in that group that he slept with, or he's going to watch all women co workers. And he's the only guy that really caused the rings -iety to spike. I've expressed discomfort about this, but I don't find getting better. It's my body, but it's happening more than like joys need to get over it. And how do I do that help? I don't want to a dating dating. Yeah, Vanessa. What are your thoughts about my initial thoughts? Are you you're in the right, like that's weird for him to be hanging out and group of girls that he used to hook up with? Yeah, that is weird. That is pretty weird. Vanessa, what he thought about it, if. Friends that he was just friends with. Then I say, well, not weird, but the fact that he had romantic relations with women. Yeah, I wish that down. Needs to respect your feelings on that? Absolutely. We always say on this show that the only rules in a relationship with the rules of the two of you establish. I think not hanging out with people slept with before is decent rule question for you guys similar situation, but a little bit different. I was actually recently just talking to ex-girlfriend. We were kind of postmortem thing of like wide in our relationship work out, which I can be beneficial for both parties. Obviously that has drawbacks talking to whatever whatever that's not the point here back a couple years ago. I had a very close friend who was a girl while I was dating this girl that talking to you now in the story, whatever every Tuesday we would go to the movies together. Me in this friend of mine who was a girl. It was just to go to the movies while I was dating this other girl, and at the time she never expressed any concern. But just recently when we were talking and she was like, what the hell? Why were you going to move every Tuesday with this other girl? And it was purely friend purely platonic, never hooked up. Anything that never had any interest before or never never before or after. Okay. And she was like, she was like, I never told you at the time, but looking back on it like that was really weird every week you'd go to with this other girl who she was also friends with. It was like, we're all friends, but she ever come to the movie three, all three of you ever go to just always just and the other girl, and there was never any interest on my end to pursue anything physically romantically with.

"Vanessa, you would never have a friends with benefits kind of situation. Why. Because she's all inter. She's all out you. She wouldn't be in Anne Hathaway situation. Let's put off be theirselves. We don't need to have like someone else there to please us and to like with our brains, though if if I'm going to be with someone, I'm going to be with them a hundred percent in a relationship, whoever has friends, benefits, relationships I'm on for that. I wish I could do that. But I, I just don't. I cannot because I know how sensitive I am and how I can form feelings for someone. Maybe I shouldn't have healing four, you know it gets the game, so I just can't do what people people that can. I mean, man, good for you. What's the record straight good or bad friends with benefits? Do we think it's a good thing or a bad thing? I think at the end of the day, it's about thing. I think eventually it always becomes a bad thing because somebody catches feelings and there's no way to avoid that. And I think this article talks about it well, eastern yell eastern. What are your thoughts? You can very silent over the entire podcast. I had a girlfriend wants for three months, but that turned out to be a friends with benefits from our point of view. She was my girlfriend. She was not. We sit down and have a conversation about boyfriend girlfriend or are you just assumed? I mean, I just assumed. I mean, we're going on a lot of dates. I, we're taking it into do stuff. I think introduced it to my family. Oh, and then we're sleeping a lot. And then at one point I was like I said, the word I was like, oh yeah, you're like such a girlfriend or something like that. She's like, who. You got the wrong idea here, but in that case, it's fine. I think this fine in the moment, but I think like Mark said at some point, it's going to have to go on one of two directions either in a committed relationship, or you guys really cut it off data that has a shelf life..
