Fire devastates world's largest sand island

"Gladys boo knows firsthand. the devastation climate change is already visiting on the world. The twenty five year old has vivid memories of kale island a tiny islet in the solomon islands archipelago where she used to swim and barbecue on the white sand beaches. It's also where her grandparents used to live decades back but kale island no longer exists. It was declared lost in two thousand sixteen after it fully submerged beneath the water a victim of rising sea levels. She worries more of her home. In the south pacific could share the same fate if global temperatures continue to rise at the same pace and just decades. My country's map has changed drastically. She says boo and others who have personally experienced the worst effects of climate change took center stage at a two week. Summit for youth climate activists. The virtual event was organized out of frustration at the postponement of the twenty twenty united nations climate. Change conference also called cop. Twenty six meeting between nations called mock cop twenty six. The summit was attended by more than three hundred fifty delegates from one hundred eighteen countries and included speeches from activists and stakeholders from around the world including the uk government minister in charge of the original cop twenty six in a year dominated by pandemic related disruptions. The mockup to six may be one of the largest international meetings focused on climate change. Even if it lacked official status but another goal of the event was to elevate the voices of those most affected by climate. Change it's a conscious decision. Based on consensus among youth activists that people in the developing world and other marginalized voters are not being represented in the climate movement which has largely focused on activists from developed nations. Be a greta tune. Berg's fridays for future or extinction rebellion which was established in the uk. The climate movement has been often inaccessible and is generally dominated by middle class. White people in the global north says a mercedes rodriguez richer to an activist from the uk student climate network. We can't stand up to this challenge without listening to the people whose voices matter the most in an attempt to be more inclusive. The virtual conference says granted more delegates. To what organizers call most affected people in areas or mapa including the philippines and bangladesh these countries and others were granted five delegates as opposed to three from most developed nations. Giving them more speaking time. More than seventy percent of the delegates represented at the summit or from developing countries. Having more delegates also gave these countries more representation and say in the wording of the final statement from mockup twenty six many behind. Mock cop twenty six. See this as a first step toward changing the emphasis of the youth climate movement. Several studies have shown that a warming planet will disproportionately affect developing countries more than developed nations however mainstream climate movements of faced criticism for not being inclusive of the most vulnerable nations earlier. This year. vanessa. Nakata a ugandan. Climate activist was cropped out of a photo in which she posed with four activists from europe including gratitude berg. It felt like i had been robbed in my space. Nicotine told time in july if climate justice does not involve the most affected communities than it is not justice at all. The photo was later replaced by the new agency that published it when we include everyone. You realize how a lot of the problems are. Common across countries says mitzi thanh a twenty two year old activists from the philippines who has been volunteering at the summit and is one of the speakers representing her country. Thanh has lived through extreme weather events in her native manila which has witnessed progressively more powerful typhoons with each passing year. She says activists like her who have seen the life altering damage. Climate change is already inflicting can go beyond being just sad stories and statistics and take an active role in creating a global solution. There's evidence this approach might result in more effective action to a twenty nineteen report by the united nations development programme found that vulnerable developing countries are leading the world by enacting ambitious pledges on emissions and climate resilience so the narrative. Necessarily isn't we are drowning. We need help says samira sarala a climate change policy expert at the united nations development programme. But rather look how we have seen the consequences and taken the destiny into our own hands. Abu the activist from the solomon islands feels that amplifying stories like hers will help people understand that the climate crisis is already a reality for people in many parts of the world when people who don't believe in climate change. Listen to our stories. They will hopefully empathize and engage she says.

"On july fifteenth. Two thousand seventeen. The son had just begun to rise over the quiet town of cool ball township pennsylvania when a gunshot rang through the air. Operator's answered a disturbing call just moments later and heard the panicked voice of forty two year old barbara rogers she cried. My boyfriend had a gun. He told me to press the trigger. Oh my god he's dead. Police rushed to the scene there on the floor of the tan double wide trailer late thirty two year old. Stephen minot a forty five caliber gunshot wound in his forehead. Barbara rogers stood beside his lifeless body. The firearm nearby barbara immediately claimed that she was innocent stating that her and many. Oh were deeply in love barbara. Even used stevens last name though they were not legally married. Despite her protestations barbara was arrested and police began their investigation. But perhaps barbara's protests weren't as far fetched as police had assumed a cursory internet search revealed. That barbour stephen were active members of an online cult. Run by a woman named sharee schreiner. The detectives searched for answers would lead investigators down a dark path filled with coded messages alien lizards and vampires. Hi i'm greg paulson. The woman behind a virtual reptilian kalt will explore her troubled childhood as well as how schreiner used the internet to cultivate her following sherry. J. schreiner was born on december eleventh. Nineteen sixty five in cleveland. Ohio into a devout god fearing christian family. She attended private christian schools and went to church every sunday. Surrounded by discussions of jesus and religion. Schreiner never remembered a time when she wasn't thinking about discussing reading the bible while sherry was a very private person of the information that's known about our comes from her self published books in one titled bible codes revealed the coming. Ufo invasion sherry claimed that she was proclaiming. God's name by the age of two and she was reborn by the age of five however also at that time she developed horrific haunting night terrors which she described in vivid detail sherry wrote. A figure would stand at the foot of my bed and stare at me as i lay trying to sleep. Fear and sheer terror with grip every muscle and bone. I had it was at least seven feet tall dark and evil. I would shrivel under my blankets and pray for it to go away. I did not know what it was other than feeling it was some evil being straight from hell and i certainly did not know what it wanted. Vanessa's going to take over on the psychology here and throughout the episode please note. Vanessa is not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist. But she has done a lot of research for this show. thanks greg. The national sleep foundation explained that night terrors can have several causes including extreme tiredness lack of sleep or stress. It is quite possible that stress of her family's devout contributed to share his night terrors. As a child though. We don't know the specifics of the situation. Perhaps sheri's family put pressure on her to adhere to a specific code of conduct prescribed by their faith sheri's terrors continued to haunt her well into her adolescence as the years passed. She had a revelation. These visions were not some anonymous shadowy figures but evil demons sent by lucifer to kill her. She proclaimed herself lucifer's arch enemy. Though she hid this title from those around her by the age of twelve sherry had read the bible from front to back and was particularly interested. In the book of revelation the final book of the christian bible known for its strange imagery and apocalyptic predictions schreiner was fascinated by the concepts of the end of days and the arrival of the anti christ but despite shriners deep immersion in biblical studies. She hated her religion. She disagreed with much of christianity and brandon herself a nonconformist becoming the black sheep of her family but sherry shifted her biblical prophecy studies to the side while she focused on higher education she dreamed of pursuing a career in television news broadcasting

Why Michael B. Jordan was chosen as People's Sexiest Man Alive

"Sexiest man alive. Two thousand twenty is another michael jordan and just an objectively correct choice for just off the bat. I have to say listen. I both went through stints where we were bills ascent. I currently am which meant that. We brought his guests in whenever he would have celebrity guests on his podcast. And i cannot remember a male guests that made as much of a flurry among the wringer women. When he came onto the lot as michael be there were people. I won't name names but jordan liggins was sitting outside. She was like casually working outside. One day i was like weird. We're choice people were stationed across the lot to see him when he came in. It was a bath. Y'all i can think of two instances where there's gonna be s podcast guests. I like made the rounds pass. Bills office just right. You know why. Advisory michael jordan was one of them. I actually was surprised. I'm shocked he has not been named as in the past. This suggests easy choice. Like it's easy in the best way like he is people sector the people's sexiest man. I cannot believe this hasn't happened yet. I agree i. This is my. I was surprised about this choice because it was just kind of seemed to obvious where he had he should have won it before. And i kinda thought if he hadn't done it before then like he just wasn't quite what they were looking for which is wrong and also i was like what is he done this year because usually when they pick these things. It's someone who has really been in the news who has had some huge project you know it was the rock. It was blake shelton when he was like the voice. You know it was john legend and it's usually like tied to someone who's just been in the news a ton and had a really big year so when it was michael jordan i was like what was he in this year. However twenty twenty three movies so through all that could be during his done with. Tsa in his profile is he's donated to charities. He has been at home as all the responsible celebrities have been doing and like sitting at home donated the charities and being hot. it's just like peak twenty twenty. So i apologize to michael jordan for thinking that it wouldn't be him because that's all you have to do is twenty twenty and that's great happy for him. Each year grows more and more embarrassing than blake. Shelton was named anyway. Okay so let's go to some of the people we thought we're to be named the sexiest man of twenty twenty. So gotta give a quick shot to our producer. Kinda you can jump in if you'd like but i say who thought it was going to be. Which is dr fauci or shawn. Mendez goes on. I just the spectrum of twenty twenty runs from dr fauci tucson mendez. I really thought. I would something dr fauci as you were. Yeah amanda the moment. He had a bigger year totally. I was thinking. Chris cuomo john king obviously big cnn. Gal i thought it was joey king for a second. I was like joey king. That'd be cool. Little switch up kissing booth three. I don't Also thought. Jason derulo oliver tiktok. I thought chance the rapper. Maybe patrick mahomes the athlete not to flex on my sports knowledge. I'm dan love you. Who was in shits creek. Big actress doctor and a lot of these people were in the issue so we actually had a lot of good guesses in terms of who would be included because like we said they have a lot of little sexy participation trophies to hand out My predictions for the cover. As you know. I'm just to online and sometimes i think that the people who are talked about online are the people that the rest of the world is also obsessed with. What's actually michael jordan's a peak internet boyfriend. So actually i do. I think i was on the right track. I thought it would be a chris evans and pine both had a shot. Because they obviously chris evans very politically active This year and then chris pine has wonder woman coming out and christmas. So i thought maybe he had a shot. Kiat was a long shot just because he would never agree to this. I don't think i think he's overdue. He won a long long time ago. Let's bring back. He was also included in the sexiest happily settled guy which was category so he did get a he got he got something in there and then i said robert pattinson who i don't know if you would be into this like seeing repents and twenty twenty people shoot just seems like a weird fit but maybe next year when he's batman. I thought i was like you know. Let's just give it to brad pitt. Again twenty twenty. It's kind of a throwaway year or so like just give it to him again. like church. sure he hasn't had it in like what. Ten years repeats list over time over the decades. Sure exactly. he's still

The Suffolk Strangler

"His tone was descending into panic in the final weeks of two thousand six but forty eight year old steep right was on top of the world. He had gotten away with murder twice. On second passer-by found the body of gem adams the second woman he killed his first victim. Canyon nickel had still not been found. What's more his devoted girlfriend. Pamela suspected nothing. The steve she knew was a shy unremarkable. Man who loved golf soap operas and her homemade shepherd's pie but without even knowing it pamela was a part of his deadly nighttime routine. Pamela night shifts at a call center every evening right came home from his own shop as a forklift driver. Ate dinner then drove pamela to work after kissing her goodbye. He drove back into town where he picked up sex workers in the red light district but more recently rights appetites took a darker turn. Now he wasn't looking for women to sleep with. He was looking for his next. he was meticulous. He used gloves to handle. The bodies then carefully vacuumed his car and washed his clothes right. After by the time. Pamela arrived home at dawn. He was in bed. Sound asleep the day. The body was found right and pamela. Were watching the news on tv. Pamela pushed her plate away unable to eat another bite with horror. I'll bet the other one's dead to without missing a beat right kept eating and said yeah. I bet you're right. Most people wouldn't be this calm watching their murders become headline news but right wasn't like most people. Vanessa's going to take over on the psychology here and throughout the episode. please note. Vanessa is not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist. But she has done a lot of research for this show. Thanks greg rights. Calm behavior during this period and his uncanny ability to lie to his loved ones could indicate antisocial personality disorder. Although as far as we know he's never been diagnosed with this or any other personality disorder. Right fits many of the criteria for apd as outlined by the dsm five a pattern of deceitfulness of failure to follow through on personal or professional obligations hostility and a lack of remorse for hurting others. Key lied to his partners about using sex workers for years. Dating all the way back to his twenty. He had a long history of bad debts and short-lived jobs and seemed free from remorse for the violent abuse of his second wife. Diane though it's not clear what was going through rights head at the moment has murders came on the news. It seems that he wasn't afraid of getting caught. In fact it's possible. The discovery made him more anxious to kill again. The day after gemma's body was found. He was back on the hunt. On the evening of december third right picked up twenty four year old. Analii alderson of feisty. Mother of one analyst struggled with drug addiction in her teenage years and was never able to shake the habit in the last months of two thousand six. She turned to sex work in order to make ends meet. She was last seen alive that night boarding a train around six. Pm on underway. Way to ipswich where she was known to work the streets few hours after she arrived in ipswich she crossed paths with steve right. It's important to note that right has never offered full accounts of his murders. So we can only piece together a possible version of events based on forensic evidence and later testimony. What's uncontested is that right. Drove emily back to his flat on london road just a few minutes away from where he picked her up and they had after they finished analee. Try to leave but wouldn't let her. He made a habit of choosing women who were physically slight and stood no chance against him. It was only too easy for him to overpower her and strangled her to death shortly before two. Am a traffic camera captured. Right driving out of it switch. He drove several miles southeast with annelies body on the floor of his car stopping in a wooded area near the village of nakdimon there he prepared to dispose of her body just as he had ten years and gemma's but this time something was different right left his first two victims in water but this evening he chose dry land at instead of simply dumping attlee in the woods. He arranged her body in a cruiser form shape on her back arms outstretched side to side like across even with this extra attention to detail. Right was back home by three. A m as always. He washed and vacuumed his car. Put all of his clothing in the washing machine and went to bed.

He is said to have plotted with defense analyst chelsea manning more reasonably to expose war crimes by the government correct and it wasn't he who hacked any computers. He was simply helping chelsea manning crack password and i mean calling it calling crack s. I find it kinda humorous views. It was like it was basically just like a hash or something like that of of Something or other. And i don't know it was it was it was it was too well. No i know but it was. It was such a week. It's so weak to call at cracking I'm sorry but like okay. Maybe maybe fine. Maybe it was technically somehow illegal. But i just how can it be illegal. If he's not based in the united states. Well the thing is right back to this whole thing where they didn't. He didn't actually attack a server with like random passwords chelsea. Got the file and send it to him right right and so he basically looked up. It was like looking up the password based on hash or something like that. He helped chelsea with whatever she tells. Find out what the what the password would be based on the hash or something like that. Issue was not in within the so posad geographic land mass of the united states at the time he did not breach any security. No within the united states government. But yet it's like. Harvard is like conspiracy to assist hacking or something like that. It was so ridiculous. Yeah he's such a stretch to say that he did you know Nature conspiracy to obtain and disclosed national defense information and a hacking charge of some sort or blacking. Top 5 High-Concept Horror, Bad Hair, The Wolf Of Snow Hollow

"Welcome to film spotting Josh we grew up in the eighties we were blessed with a lot of things including the Golden Age of the high-concept movie but I know there are some people listening who are wondering what this phrase really means. We will certainly defined in more detail as we get into our top five here in a little bit but our producer, Sam has a good thought. If the premise of your movie is right there in the title. That's pretty much dead giveaway that it's a high concept movie snakes on a plane there. You know maybe the platonic ideal of high-concept movie, right? That's it right there. If all you gotta do is tell someone the title and they understand everything the movie is about it's probably using a high concept. Yes. Snakes on a plane maybe at times scary in its own way, not exactly a horror movie a longtime listener on twitter Charles Canzoneri was following a similar line of thinking he said invasion of the body snatchers night of the living dead. The. Those titles kind of say it all too. Don't they Josh Yeah. We'll. We'll kind of get into exactly the way you and I at least defined this, but you could make an argument for those for sure we will get to our picks here in a moment but first we did want to spend a couple of minutes on the movie that inspired the list Justin. Simians new bad hair. So yeah the bad hair of the title here is A. Bloodthirsty, we've that the star, the movie L. Lorraine's Anna She unwittingly submits to as part of plot her attempts really to get ahead at this black entertainment network sort of an MTV style network she works at this is set in nineteen, eighty nine we should say so she's been there awhile she's been overworked underpaid largely ignored and and sees a new look as perhaps a way forward. Now, Simeon directed two thousand fourteen dear white people and he created the TV spinoff to he takes the college set racial identity satire of that earlier film and amps it up here Yes. There are some really gnarly murders to this definitely counts as a horror film. He layers in some observations about assimilation and authenticity in that era late eighties, early nineties. Let's clip. Anna. Does your hair. No. We. Aren't you tired of it. All the stairs you get walk into the army lobby everyone wondering why you're here. If you went to any other floor in the tower for job interview. You wouldn't get past reception. And you know that. Sisters get fired lesson every day. have. Music people have certain expectations and my girls need to flow freely. Wonder. You want to be one of my girls. Yes. that. Is L. Lorraine's Anna with Vanessa Williams as her CEO. Zora Josh you did like Dear White People Justin Simians debut film as you mentioned in fact, nominated for a golden brick here on film spotting back in two thousand fourteen. What did you think of that? Hair I kinda loved it actually Really Yeah it's it's pretty insane and you know not a perfect film by any means in some in some ways an experiment in genre for Simeone, you can tell feeling his way and having some fun with the horror comedy elements here, but you know what? I really wished. Adam. Is that I. I mean obviously nowadays, we wish we can see anything with a full theater, but this thing really would have benefited from a very loud a very lively audience preferably like maybe around midnight something like that I think then you could get into the vibe of the film a bit more easily than say just you know watching it on Hulu at home but I still had fun with it. I think what Simeon does in terms of some of the extreme camera angles and the slow zooms there. That are a little insidious There's a great scene where Anna is at the salon getting. About to get the we've and she's kind of walking through this hallway of hair samples that is probably going to haunt my dreams. I think not only the way it's filmed but remember that old seinfeld bid about like when you find hair and things something about like if it's on our heads everyone, you know it's completely normal everyone loves it. But the minute it's removed from your head everyone freaks out that seeing like totally captured that for me So yeah, I think this works as horror I think the main performance here's pretty strong by lorraine and I think there's a lot of fun comic performances going. On along the edges here from people like Jay Ferrell Lean Awaith James Vanderbeek of all people who really doing a Don Johnson Miami Vice era performance I think the setting the eighty nine setting added a lot for me. Just kind of remembering that I don't know if it's like Yo MTV raps I'm sure there's a different countdown show around then the capture, the vibe of that really. Well, I think here even give us a music video and original music video with Kelly Rowland playing this. Pop Star. Hip, hop star who's kind of a mixture I don't know tell me what you think I was getting like. Janet. Jackson slash. Paula Abdul feel from that music video. So that was fun. There's a lot of fun stuff here. Yeah.

He stopped outside Saint Vincent's Church, and leaned against the stone wall he watched as Rosa. Olica a young girl of about eight years old sauntered towards him Peter Shot Rosa of friendly smile and asked where she was headed unfortunately. He pressed his lips around the wound and sucked the blood from Rosa's skull. Peter derived a pleasurable sensation from the act and like when he first killed a sheep as a teenager, it would change his life forever. Vanessa. Peter decided the best course of action would be to establish an alibi. So while his wife Ow Gustav. Was Out of the House he returned home to inspect his clothes for bloodstains and clean his scissors. Once he was presentable and weapon free he took himself to the movies on his walk home from the Cinema Peter. Thought. It might be a good idea to burn Rosa's body. Not only would this destroy any lingering evidence it would also increase the grisly nature of the crime that night Peter filled an empty beer bottle with the petroleum from one of his lamps then headed back to where he left Rosa but as Peter ventured toward Rosas body, he realized there were too many witnesses to set a fire on detective he hit. The bottle behind a nearby sign and decided to come back later early, the next morning Peter told his wife he was headed to the bathroom, but instead a snuck out the front door of their building he sprinted to the hidden petroleum, grabbed the bottle and made his way over to the hedges where he'd left Rosa's body Peter Poured the petroleum all over. The girl then dropped a lit match onto the corpse as soon as the flames ignited Peter made himself scares within minutes. Kraft Under Fire for Sexualizing Mac n Cheese

"When you think of macaroni and cheese what comes to mind comfort food and easy cheap meal for you your kids or your broke college student or something more risque. Wait if I confused you just now clearly, you miss the drama that happened earlier this month for kraft, Heinz the maker of the number one boxed Mac and cheese in America wound up embroiled in controversy over an ad campaign that most definitely attracted attention to celebrate National Noodle Day October six. In case you missed it on your calendar Somehow Kraft Heinz launched a playful campaign suggesting people send nudes that is noodles to friends and family. The double meaning of course was intentional sending nudes could mean sending nude photos in some of their ads, pictures of a box of Mac and cheese were deliberately out of focus as if the company was hiding something you know. And video featured former Saturday night live actor Vanessa Bayer. Trying to make the distinction between noodles and nudes. It's been pulled from crafts social channels, which I'll get to in a minute but take a listen clear not advocating you send nudes to anyone I'm talking about news not news I want there to be no confusion do not send nudes definitely send news even as it sent social media into a tizzy the campaign was a hit twenty thousand comfort loving tweeter took the brand up on its offer to mail free boxes of the cheesy stuff to loved ones. But unless you subscribe to the theory that all publicity is good publicity, the backlash created a craft crisis parents tore into the multibillion dollar brand on instagram. They said sexualizing macaroni was inappropriate for kids and accused craft of inciting children to send nude pictures. Many angry viewers threatened to ban kraft MAC and cheese from their pantries and turn instead to rivals like Annie's Mac and cheese owned by General Mills, some threatened to boycott. All craft products and some critics went even further according to buzzfeed Cunanan supporters got into the act. buzzfeed describes Cunanan as a collective delusion believers in what has also been called a right wing conspiracy theory subscribed to a number of different baseless notions including that something called the deep state promotes child sex trafficking buzzfeed reported that some Cunanan believers accused craft hines of using it's Mac and cheese nudes campaign for just this purpose. In the end, the company pulled its campaign in a statement brand officials stated, blandly, we sincerely appreciate and hear all of your feedback. As it happened, the news promotion was intended to end only a few days after it began anyway, whether craft considers its campaign, a win or a loss is hard to tell at the moment but consider this not only did craft managed to. Give away thousands of boxes of noodles but the controversy generated thousands of mentions on social media and in the press also keep in mind that making processed foods. Sexy is not a new idea for kraft. Heinz back in February of Twenty nineteen long before our world was upended, the company ran an actual ad on a porn site likening Mac and cheese attraction to addiction to. Well something else entirely that adds steely promoted devour a kraft Heinz frozen food line. That made headlines and sales. It's a big deal for consumer packaged foods players like Kraft Heinz Kellogg in Unilever Comfort food sales have fattened up during the pandemic now officials from Kraft Heinz, and Kellogg promised market very aggressively during the second half of this year to keep momentum up according to industry publication marketing dive given the ferocious rivalry between giant packaged food companies. There's really only one conclusion to draw about a brand that doesn't just go to the edge of tasteful nece but jumps right over it. Even today's cancel culture craft Heinz knows. Exactly. What it's doing.

The Hippie Trail Killer Charles Sobhraj

"We're all born with the need to be nurtured and loved we cry out for our parents when we're hurt or when we're scared for those whose please go unheard however, the desire for affection is sometimes unbearable and can lead down a dark road. Charles Sobhraj. Never felt the love and support of a stable family. He was born in the spring of nineteen forty four in Saigon French Indochina better known today as Vietnam. His mother was a shop girl named Chen Lang Fun who went by Noy and his father Hotan Chun Sobhraj was a wealthy Indian textile merchants but the union wasn't to last when Charles was only. Two years old noise took her son away from Hotan after learning he had another wife back in India. Fortunately, for Noye, she found a new start with French army Lieutenant Alfons Doro they fell in love and married in nineteen forty eight when Charles was four but Charles wanted nothing to do with his new stepfather and long to be reunited with coach and his real family. He got his wish in one, thousand, nine, hundred, forty, nine when they moved to France with Alphonse and sent five year old Charles to live with his father. But the reunion didn't go as Charles expected just like his mother Ho Chun had remarried and started a new family amidst the growing number of half siblings. Charles struggled to compete for hotel son's attention and felt unbearably neglected. Vanessa's going to take over and the psychology here, and throughout the episode please note Vanessa is not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, but she has done a lot of research for this show thanks Greg unlike some of the serial killers we've discussed in the past Charles never faced physical or sexual abuse. Instead, he endured a different kind of childhood trauma. He was ignored in favor of his half brothers and sisters according to psychiatrist Bruce, Perry, feelings of parental neglect can lead to increased aggression and cruelty. He adds that one of the most disturbing elements of this aggression is that it is often accompanied by a detached cold lack of empathy. Charles started showing signs of this developing aggression over the next three years. He joined a gang of street thugs who attacked and robbed on spending tourists. Unsurprisingly, his criminal activity didn't win his father's affection. In fact, when Noyon Alfons returned to Saigon in nineteen fifty to poach on sent eight-year-old Charles. His mother it's likely that the feeling of being unwanted by both parents haunted Charles for the rest of his life. In Saigon, Charles was still a handful. So in an attempt to curtail the unruly behaviour, Stepfather Alfonse formally adopted Charles, but it made no difference. The young boy was beyond caring about the acceptance of his family worse as he got older Charles started showing signs of Machiavelli Anisim the psychological trait based around manipulation and his favourite victim was his half brother. Andre. Andre, idolized his older brother which made him. The perfect target for Charles's machinations when Charles was ten years old, he convinced two year old Andre to steal from a shopkeeper when the toddler was caught under a confessed to their mother that Charles put him up to it to which Charles proudly scoffed I can always find an idiot to do what I want. It was clear to know that something had to be done before things got out of hand. So in. Fifty Nine Nov moved the family from Saigon to Marseille hoping the change would help to manage Charles's behaviour and further his education she enrolled the fifteen year old and an agricultural school, but it didn't help though he did display an industrious nature that December Charles tried to make some pocket money by selling Christmas cards on the street but his sales tactics were aggressive. The troubled teen was arrested for threatening people with a knife when they refuse to buy his cards in another bid to reform her son noise secured Charles a job at a cafe in Paris perhaps, some menial Labor would straighten him out that year. Charles Bounce from one Parisian restaurant to. Another either working as a busboy or kitchen hand peeling vegetables and washing dishes Charles, hated the work. But no, he refused to let her son slide. He needed structure Charles moved up in the ranks of fine dining and near the end of nineteen sixty became a busboy at la, Cupola of favorite eatery for the Parisian elite according to journalist Thomas Thomson at La cooply. Charles caught glimpses of high society from his place in the back. Those few seconds is the kitchen door flapped open were enough to inspire Charles to strive for more to be rich like them,

The Latest On municipal Elections

"A little bit about municipal elections of course in Brazil What what what's that? Give us give us the the big picture festival well, I voted a big deal because every single one of five, thousand, five, hundred. Seventy Brazilian cities will be voting for mayors and for councillors as well. So it's a big election, and of course, it's always as it happens to other countries it's a preview of the two, thousand, twenty, two presidential elections. So be interesting to see what's going to be the role of both sonar because of the beginning just a few months ago said, he's not going to get involved but now we're seeing that he's supporting a few of the candidates, but the thing is, of course, there's You know there's there's thirty or forty percent of the electorate that you know would vote for Bush scenario candidate but he's extremely toxic as well. the order. The same amount of number would never vote for a candidate supported by both sonar. Again I think it's going to be a very tough divisive election and again, Workers Party used to be such a strong political party Brazilian losing the appeal order. centre-left parties are starting to kind of gain more traction instead of the workers spiders. So that's an interesting thing about this election as well, and what do the polls say I mean just ready to? An association whether perceived or real with both narrow can be a boost or it can be a problem depending on where in the political spectrum you are. Do we know what the polls tell us and there's another interesting things on there in terms of the sorts of characters who are standing for action a big increase in number of military personnel. Explain also that we've talked about before absolutely and again this increasing military personnel of course, it comes more from the right-wing part but even the left they have some candidates and even in their names when people are voting is like major tone. Exactly. Or you know they they actually add they're tied to pseudo name. So people know exactly what they used to do but you know I was talking about another classic example here's some Paul the first South who someone is, is a hat on the polls he's supported by scenario is a TV presenters will kind of a populist even though he's ahead I'm not sure if he's actually going to win because there's he has a vast number of people that will never vote for him just because of his association with both Sonar, and in Rio you know we're loosing the blue. Shoe, quite a lot about this. Myself Valleys the current mayor and a former gospel singer as well. Again, he only have like forty percent of the polls. He didn't do a very good administration from. What I hear from people living there as well but he's the candidates have been supported by both sonar. I wonder if we're that can tell us a bit more house the reaction. Rio above that listen to I was going to bring you speak about Venezuela in a second but just on this point about it's both scenario I mean is he he sort of overshadow everything? Is it one of those things being Vanessa mentioned if we look at Rio these races, they're also have proxies for people's view about both in our that's certainly what it seems like sometimes looking from the outside. Yes. But also particularly that the main issue in. The minute always been it's totally economic, right so aside from all these elections and everything, it's really which parties are willing to offer some sort of boost to to the people living there and what we have. She had underneath the Bulls Nar administration in recent months, which allows cariocas from, which is, of course, this this payout to to the most deprived in the population, which is and so will very much depend on whether that sort of extended over the next few months to tidy through the election or not I. Think I think economic issue is a big thing. Here we go. There's some interesting aspects. Of this election as well so far we had the record number of candidates thirty, four percent of all the candidates are women. That's a record that doesn't mean that they will be elected sometimes they come from the smaller political parties as well, and for the first time we have candidates, they are either black or mixed race then white, that's a that's a first So even though we are under the administration that probably don't care that much about quotas or this kind of things but you know you see a little bit of change in Brazil perhaps the candidates are beginning to start to look like. The population in general. So that's an interesting aspect of this election and certainly something to welcome just briefly Fernando. Last point on. This is one of these areas where it would be a mistake to read too much into what happens in the municipal elections where we look ahead to the next general election or actually is quite a good indicator of which way the political winds on a national level also blowing I think we should definitely pay attention to this election in two thousand sixteen. We saw the rise of the right and kind of you could kind of understand Wassenaar was elected two years after. Okay interesting. Stuff listen. Let's cross back to you and I I mentioned Venezuela let's talk about this. You were living there I think some some years ago, but there's this really complex interesting legal battle that also comes right here to to London town as well. Tell us a bit more about this. Yes. So don't remind listeners the Maduro government launched legal action against the Bank of England earlier this year to try and force the Bank to release gold that the country has stored in the bank sports and England's quartered appeal decision that was made earlier this week on Monday isn't as definitive, some of the headlines had suggested. And they're sort of several layers to this. But essentially, the appeals court overturned a judgment which said that the UK had recognized opposition leader one guy do as Venezuela's rightful president. So in other words that local ruling is a victory for Maduro essentially sidelining any perceived power that Guido had as Venezuela's rightful president but Monday's decision actually means that this whole I mean it's a lot of money is a one billion. Dollars equivalent in gold. It will go back to the High Court in England and it will be up to a higher court to determine more definitively which of these two rival leaders is in charge in Venezuela and therefore he has control over the shiny gold bars which obviously tend to grab the column inches but I guess into this is a case where. This case speaks to a bigger picture dozen and it does also reflect this ongoing, very divisive political battle in in. Caracas. Can you just tell us what is the latest there what? What's the situation? Is it one of these things where again Everything that flows politically flows out of the economic strife, the country still during. Quite right I mean reading the actual ruling it disorders show unpick really the mess that Venezuela and the international community has got itself into with this to President Saga that's been going on since January twenty nineteen and the upstate new nothing the people who've been living there I mean in abject poverty fleeing the country in the millions and that has no proper healthcare system i. Mean when I was living back in twenty seventeen lesson learned today to do with this highly contagious virus. So the situation is critical as I say, having having an uncleared dramatic stance, own issues like the Golden, the Bank of England, which mode no doubt will go on for months only wasn't the the situation inside the country and creates stalemate when nothing moves on or improves. Tricky Times still ahead listen to it was good to hear from you, and if you're here in studio thank you. That's Markle's if you had noticed and Lucinda Elliott

Nah Point to do it 'cause stranger danger obviously. So I just may as low he zone shows. That show but if you get called back to the by around program, would you guys work from home? Do you think or would you go to a room? How did you do it before you left in June? We were working from home. I think the. Best way for us to do it, we can still work from home except for myself in a few other people are room leaders. So where where producers on the show we can go in 'cause we have offices that are all spread apart. And then we meet like have the. Every two weeks we shoot, and then people will come in for the shoot days. But other than that, we can do everything from home with proven. But it helps for our. Not a big soup person when we're just Mike working he's a sweater Collared Shirt Guy Oh winkler wearing. admittedly, I don't think I've ever seen Byron Allen in a setting that he wouldn't be wearing some sort of suit It's always either on the set of a television thing. "Getting procedure again in a couple of weeks. So I gotta go get another Cova test next week we gotta go and. Get that done rather. That's the that's the nursemaid I found it very off putting. He's speaking of that noise. You know what? We watched a Oliver and I Watched a stroke ace over the weekend the Burt Reynolds Lonnie Anderson Vehicle Though it is hor horrific. That's insane that you would watch that. Imagine that it is thirty percent sexist jokes there you're low. Number. Wellness. Things other offensive stuff I'm imagining is so bad that. We started watching several things. One was one one was worse than the other. When we first started stroke race, we're like the first twelve minutes. Here we go. We finally found a fun dumb comedy to spend it to watch on a Friday night, and then it was time for him to go to bed and we picked it back up on Saturday and holidays like did they change the movie? What happened? This Because it went from. Okay to horrible. It was. But the reason I bring it up is there's one scene where a Guy Burt Reynolds puts a guy down and the guy takes his hat and put it to the side and you hear. Own like it's lame. Lame it is born own is this is this the same movie where he where he? Wraps his car in like plucked chicken yet. Okay. That's it. There is one thing I do remember from that movie, which is guy saying I think I am just the Messenger. Yes you. Remember this movie way too well as far as I'm concerned for this piece of junk. Burt. Reynolds. Which is why I think I watched it at the time. You know what? Elliott by all accounts, he was a big asshole by. Says this guy was a prick but? I find him fun and charming even in a shooting movie he's fun and charming. And you got Charlie Daniels Man on the on the soundtrack. So there's a great American Elliott speaking of you. Let's let's get your answer here. is there anything else you wanNA tell Vanessa about that's going on in your life well, I do have another building manager related thing that I thought I'd share I think Vanessa like Siri about it. Is it about Gary No, it is not. I only want to hear Gary Related Stories Today Oh my guy. Then then Elliot I want to hear whatever this is. Okay. So. So part of being billy manager is you gotTA show units. We've got some vacancies obviously in this time obviously him about to that point Elliott prices come down during this I have a so so four or more expensive units turns out that those are renting. You know the bigger ones are renting because they're folks who have those resources but for the smaller ones I have I have lobbied to get those prices down 'cause 'cause. For a single and you're living by yourself, you know the PR- The prices were too much for folks. So we're we're we're gradually knocking them down. We gotTA balance that out because I want to make sure that if people can't it, the owner can still to to sort of absorb we have a few folks who have been affected by covert and they're not paying their rent right now and so bouncing up but the, but the the single prices have come down not by about seventy five a month so far. And we'll see how that goes is that enough to make somebody Okay it can I mean that's that's like ghost a grand a year. So, for some folks, it will make a difference are we're not on the cheapest side and we can't afford to go to low. But it does it does make a difference I've gotten more interest. Let's put it that I see. All right. So I apologize I interrupted I do have follow a question for Vanessa which doesn't apply to you at all it Vanessa. This is not my business any way shape or form you're on hiatus does that mean? From a show like this that you know is coming back. Are you paid during that hiatus? Like are you are you stolen employees and then you just happen to go back to work or okay We do unemployment and just go back to freelance comedy trying to do whatever I can Gotcha. All right. Well, we'll see what happens minister. Dot. Then you know Jimmy has not discussed payment for this contract that he's put out for you to do. So that's a involved i. feel if I her money she gets she gets caught. She doesn't have the excuse of she's all doped up anymore if there's an actual contract so I I think it's best if she just do it pro Bono I, think that's the best way to handle this murder. Discuss, and then you don't want after the fact maybe I'll give you a little something but I don't think we should discuss money in advance because if Yeah you don't WanNa. Get a tiger king situation. He's not easily. So that may add to my constant I want to coach one thing that DOPP turns out to be a completely different situation could cost smart very smart. "Upset in the literal way of listening to George Bush. Saying you're either with us or against us because. My experience of working with Moroccan people and in working in the Islamic world was utter grace and gentleness and. Being asked to sort of take sides. Let this I found very offensive. And I thought I've got to do something. I can't just sit back and watch the world walking into this warm and Fateh village in the end. But as she had, it did make a big difference in Morocco was. One of the things about the arts is that there's a risk that when you're working the world having an at gallery or just becomes a commodity but actually the arts really stimulate critical thinking and in North Africa, the hasn't been any encouragement critical thinking because. You're not let question your teacher, your parents or your priest, Oyo God your King, and the arts are all about questioning things. And so to have an arts festival. In a north African country was really a remarkable thing and it was only something that an outside it could do. And we started very small was really I started as a platform for debate because you can talk about some quite contentious issues through the arts without offending anybody. But then I became very ambitious wanted to make it into the best office willing worldwide not, and we had all the venues. The King of Morocco was very supportive of us, but he couldn't get any cash because. It's hard enough to justify putting cash into the arts in Western countries. Let alone in an emerging economy we kept for ten years and it became a really significant event. and. You've been honest of course by the country and and by the king, you also started a project much closer to home and run for I think three or four years which was Portobello. Arts Festival yeah. Well, that was. I mean, again we had. I think were about fourteen galleries, input it it sort of Hay Day, and it was just in nineteen eighty, seven everything started feel possible at that time it was the most exciting time Portabella was a very scuzzy area when I first moved that it's hard to imagine now. and. When the gallery started evening on rents were ridiculously cheap and wanted to sort of draw bit of attention away from the West End. In young and was fawning if you. Throw together free alcohol in Ohio evenings walking down the street in his street performances. You can vary very quickly gather some atmosphere and some attention, and we we did a really good job at really fun. One of the recurring themes in the book is Your Ano- holidays to Necker necker island and you describe it first of all just as this kind of horrible bits of rock. To what it is not just tell us a little about. One of the things I've loved about life is the continuity and the circles. I highly recommend everybody writes my more. It's most extraordinary experience because everything sort of makes sense. It's quite frightening as well as you get to a point when you in your twenties, it could run out of control when you're writing your quota..

"Now, of course, you're known as this great art lover and promoter of odd how did you discover? Well again, I mean love to me off into all kinds of SORTA strange called the Saxon and had such a huge influence on my life and because I had this extraordinary freedom. I've fell in love with this boy at school and he was wanting to study history Arctic. Cambridge and we went hitchhiking round Lee together and. That's sort hetty combination of. Early Mason's paintings and the freedom of being in Italy and being with somebody who had doored. Itchy was just a proponent love but it was they were very heady moments and. And that inevitably go back now I always look I'm with quite emotionally moved by auto. Please do I think it probably was a lucky introduction at the time? And you describe walking through an exhibition in it being explained to you about it through being a journey and all the rest of it just clicking in your mind of like. What contemporary arts about? Well I was just very, very lucky to be in the right place at the right time and I studied history of art in London in the early eighties and it was. That the first ripples of that creative wave, we're just starting to grow into a wave and I was very taken by one particular class that I had that was devoured by Antony, Gormley talking about Stanley Spencer and again anthony. I mean he's sexy. Now Vote Gordon back then he was beautiful and. His silvery physical description of people emerging from the graves that Cookham. Graveyard. Stanley. Spencer. Painting. The resurrection. And I taught him after the class and then he took me to his degree shape at the slade. And just went round and we went rent these extraordinary strays and he explained what he was doing, what they were doing and I just sort of realized that I didn't completely understand conceptual art at the time that I knew these people were very clever and they were thinking about it all the time and. I wanted a little bit more understanding so I had that extraordinary introduction. And and he's been friends with since and you've made the most wonderful career out of it to. Talking about the beginning in Austin courses say your friend was studying at Cambridge and it was through him that you met your husband you talk about your wedding day an incident then an just it absolutely I mean obviously, you couldn't know that then but for the reader then looking back, you can see that this was kind of marriage doomed from the start. Yes. You. There was so I mean there is you know he's the father of my children. He's an extraordinary man and very special in in many ways and. The after the book she to sort of understand but I wasn't I wasn't programs for combative relationship and. It wasn't altogether his I just allow things to happen that shouldn't have, and then one day leads onto the next thing. You always think it's GonNa get better and and then off load of it was very good. But it just when things. Start going down the wrong road. It's very hard to to reverse such powerful writing though in the book about the breakdown of the relationship and you'll get together again and and all the rest of it it it's as you say you, you need to read it, but it really is some. Fascinating stuff just beautifully beautifully put. You will, of course, talk a lot about your career under your married name. You started the Vanessa Devorah Gallery which did very well, and then your interest in Morocco grew tell us about the beginnings of Morocco..

Now of course, , you'll family name is well-known because of the entrepreneurial success of your older brother recovered, and , in this book you give us a wonderful portrait of the whole family going right back a couple of generations. . Search should we start with your grandparents? ? Golly well, , Kim I just state why I wrote the book in the first place because I think it's context utilizes why I wanted to go back and look at my family. . I actually started writing it on the twentieth of January two, , thousand seventeen. . It was the morning of Donald Trump's inauguration and I was so thrown by. . I was quite frightened actually, , or we were all very fearful about what was going to happen and everything all my values and everything I felt I stood for being threatened by this man to power. . And I wanted to I couldn't articulate why I felt so nervous. . And I wanted to really ground all where all those values came. . and. . So by looking back, , I wasn't gonNA rush by myself a tool I just wanted to ground where it came from. . So I started back with the birth of my father he was born nineteen eighteen. . And roll the sort of serendipitous. . It was exactly one hundred years before I started writing the book, , and there were these mighty seismic changes back in one, , thousand, , nine, thousand, , , nine, , hundred. . I wanted to serve slot the family into a historical context as well. . Because the both sets of grandparents came from different worlds didn't they? ? Yes. . Nothing. . That was one of the things that I was excited to investigate. . My father's family was really quite educated and very good fun actually and very playful. . They weren't in the grammar school boys and they all went to Cambridge. . And they were ventures and travelers and extraordinary. . My my mother's family was more of middle class but I was very interested about the class in England as well and how we've always felt as a family now, quite , sort of class less than I wanted to find out where that came from because I think they were quite horrible to your mother, , I yes. . Well, , she was sort of show. . Girl you can imagine I mean they were they were slightly snobbish. . My grandfather was a high court judge in he wasn't landed. . He didn't have a stately home, , but he rented one and they had lots of staff and long drive and they did shifting with the right people and let's say and then my mom turned up and she was on the stage and I think they would rather said. . That they're blue eyed boy they're DEB's delight as they called him at fallen for this rather so crazy. . Well. . <hes> described it herself as a flippity Japan but. . Anyhow it was a very enduring marriage and Utah wonderful stories of the courtship and all the rest of it. . It's very beautifully done, , and clearly they had a huge amount of affection for each other. . And for their children, , how would you characterize your childhood? ? Well, , it was sort of heaven really the with very little cash. . My father wasn't very successful barrister in he was slightly forced into it by his father and. . One of the defining characteristics of all of us which is really was really interesting to sort of nail is that we're all dyslexic and both my parents are dyslexic. . They just found schoolwork in academia very difficult and my poor father was sort of shoehorned into being a barrister and he shouldn't have been. . So he was there was never much cash around but. . They were just sort good fund, my , parents and. . They both been through the war and I, , think life was just to you know they'd seen such terrible things experience really quite a lot of hardship and they just wanted to live for the joy of life again and they gave us that in bucket foles and just embraced all K- also adventure and people and everyone was welcome and we had very very happy childhood action. . It sounds like this wonderful big messy household with just lots of lots and lots of animals the countryside I mean does sound so much fun. . Tell me about your siblings then well, , my brother was born in nineteen fifty and I wasn't born until nineteen, , fifty nine, and , then we have assisted in the middle. . and. . We've sort of space do and Richard Got Adhd and he was very very energetic and rather than sort of repressed him I think my parents soon realized that I mean in Heaven Forbid Kids nowadays would be on Ritalin or something and they set him challenges and so my earliest memories were keeping Richard Busy sending him off on on really long bike rides and really difficult things to keep him occupied for the day and lots of mealtimes. . "Mean how cool that the show is embraced from from the GATT and we were you surprised by the reaction We were we were happy. You know we because when we were there, we were sort of going into it. We had no idea what to expect, but we were definitely drawn to the show intrigued by the idea we sat down with kinetic. Net flicks to talk about the concept of having emotional emotional connection in foundation for a relationship without external factors, I eat money physical looks, friends, family computers, social media where like that's actually a really beautiful way to start a relationship in a sense. It's kind of what Nick and I did. I was in New York in L. A. and we texted allied and we were on the phone a lot. No, you hang up. Nina. was us to a while we a lot of similarities well, and then once we. Either person you had all of that emotional nation, the physical with just heightened in all the best levels. So we were intrigued by, and then when we were there every night we would sit in the hotel lobby was the first time I started drinking bourbon because that's next favorite one with you. So we were like an old married couple with our Bourbon and we would just talk about the day talk about all the men from his side because he was with the men in the pods and I was with the women. But Nick was never a lot on the women's side and I, wasn't allowed them inside. So we would just talk about. Oh. My God Lawrence. Belva Bovin did you hear what did you hear what she said about him or did he did Cameron say the same thing about her? What did he say she looked like? We were literally like to high school cackling girls. Had this show if people even have an ounce of what we're feeling show going to be incredible and it, they do it was and we're just glad to be along for the ride. That's fantastic. Is there any talk of season two yet or production considering times? They, they're ready for season two. And season three. I think it's been out there. If not, I'm just about to blow your spot I, think put casting out. It's. Casting New Yorker. Okay. Nice. We were supposed to shoot now but obvious with these times. A week process for filming. So everybody wants to be safe. Everybody wants to be responsible and we want to do our part in that end I just don't feel like there's a way they figured out how to do that with pods and. the romantic getaway amend coming back home to meeting family lot of a lot of movement. So we're GONNA wait till next year. That way really take it up the next hour. We'll. CONGRATS look. We look forward to that. I want to get back to to school and we talked about our our teaching ways or lack thereof but it's obviously going to be interesting this fall. How are you guys preparing? You know honestly you're right. It's it. It is interesting. Nobody knows actually that's why. I'm excited about this partnership that I. I'm here to talk to you with because I realized that not only am I overwhelmed mia unsure about what's going on? It's like you think is apparent me-meeting I don't..

It is absolutely disgusting, Big guy Still, the more I think of about it. The angrier I get, because she nor anyone doesn't deserve this. And no one deserves this. And Ah, lot of people are asking. You know what now what do we do now? How can we help the family on the best way is to demand that a congressional investigation. Is conducted because you know at Fort Hood, the military lied for so for so many minds for months to this family, Nothing was done. An investigation wasn't even conducted. The search didn't even begin for for Vanessa. Until months after and it just to me. It's it's a mind blowing, how on earth there wasn't more urgency to find this missing soldier like at all whatsoever until, like, two months later. But just take a listen to her sister Lupe talking and asking, demanding for justice for her sister. Joke just in man, A woman and her service. Because there is a joke. I.

Visit prudential dot com slash state of us Vanessa Williams is exactly where she should be. Growing up all she wanted to do was perform onstage. She's arguably the most successful Miss America in pageant history despite a scandal that stripped her of crown the damage to her image in future career should have been devastating. But the nessa wasn't going to allow herself to be defined by one painful event. Now, a Grammy nominated recording artist she's performed in dozens of hit films and television shows and she's earned rave reviews for starring roles on Broadway. And she did it all while raising four children the road was not easy. But well worth it. Everybody has a story. And there's something to be learned from every experience. Use your life as a class. This is masterclass with Vanessa Williams. I was always really candid with my kids. I remember one time watching the news. I was cooking and talked about hydroponic pot. And like if you think the weed that you're smoking is what your kids are smoking. Well, and that was like the topic. And I remember cooking, and my two girls were in their time and said, you know, by the way, when I was growing up, I I smoked pot, and my guess what you smoke pot in that we talked about bought this an opportunity to not just cash shame and guilt but inform them so they can make their own decisions. And luckily, you know, they're they're all pretty good. With my generation and our elders of our generation people didn't talk about the experiences that haunted them that were disturbing. They were left unsaid. So there's a lot of mysteries not only with my family. But with the African American society that we don't know a lot of of the stories that that had happened. Because of the fact that people don't talk about everything, and I wanted to make sure that when I had my kids that they would know all of my experiences. So they can understand who I am. And what makes me tick? So they can stand what made them who they are. Because I in knowledge is power when you know what you're dealing with. You can have a sense of a sense of clarity. When people have issues, whether it's alcoholism, our anger or resentment or depression, when your children know where that comes from then they can be a lot more compassionate. One particular summer going into fifth grade, a family friend of mine had a trip out to California and my ass. My parents back could go along and never been to California. We ended up staying with a family friend of theirs. They had a an older daughter and older girl was one of the cool girls. Who would say, you know, let's do this. Let's do that. You wanna try cigarette? One of those things where she made you wanna feel like you were a grownup, and that was her would made her cool and one night, she came into the room where my friend, and I were were sleeping, and she told me to lie down on the floor. And she took my bottoms off. And she said be quiet, and she went down on me and a ten years old. I had no idea what it was. But I knew it felt good. And I knew I shouldn't be saying anything, and I didn't tell anyone. But I knew it it felt good. But also something that. Was not supposed to be happening. Went back to New York got off the plane, and I was glowing conflicted and wanted to talk to my parents about it and I walked off the jet way. And I saw my dad's face in his face was grey. And I just found out that his brother had died. And so that was a family drama never really talked to my dad about it and never kind of kind of suppressed, but at that young age having that happen to you in your body. It awakens your sexuality at an age where it shouldn't be awaken. I think that had that not happened in my life, and I had an opportunity to have a normal courtship with the boyfriend at sixteen or whatever and have your normal. I kiss there wouldn't have been that shame that was kind of always haunting me, but I think it made me more sexually promiscuous and more curious at a younger age than I should have been. I was brought up with two very different parents. My dad had. A wonderful loving family and siblings, and grandparents and uncles that were all part of helping him. Be who we he was? My mother grew up with a much different type of past negatively survival and struggle. So I have these two opposite polar opposites of the past being wonderful and relishing it and the past being something that you want to run away from my mother was. I would definitely say an overachiever from a house that expected a lot from her. But also had not a lot of support and a lot of abuse. And she was kind of the first real performer in the family. She
